Corpse Planet is a personal graphic novel project that I have been working on for quite some time. I'm still making adjustments, but once everything's ready for publishing, I will let everyone know where to get a copy.
This is just a proof copy for now.
(Pretty happy with how the character dossier pages turned out)
EEEEE I can't wait to share more once it's all ready...
Disney Channel Sets Rebrand With New Logo And Graphics, Slated To Debut September 30.
Disney Channel has just updated their YouTube Channel profile picture and banner, ahead of the channel's upcoming rebrand which is expected to launch on September 30th.
The rebrand showcases and new graphics alongside a new logo that drops the Mickey Mouse ears that where around for almost 10 years.
Like the Disney Jr. rebranding from earlier this year, they seem to be swapping out the Mickey ears/head element of the logo design and having a deeper focus on the Disney logo itself.
Disney Channel, however, also seems to be retaining a Mickey head element that will be used in the new graphics and design of the rebrand, though it's too early to say given the regular assets have yet to play into the equation ---- @disneyschedules
This one would've started with Leigh and Matt trying to collect their family as fast as possible to take them to the military base that everyone is being advised to go to. Matt wants to pick up one of the teachers he works with but Leigh is insisting that they go for her family first. They argue about how she has Drew with her but he's the one that picked them up. Leigh was at work with Drew when they witnessed one of their co-workers eat another co-worker. He's in the backseat trying to call his boyfriend. Leigh finds her dad eating her step-mom from her stomach. Drew has to pull her out of the house before either of them get attacked. Matt is on the phone with Danny, who is trying to get their mother out of their childhood home but she is refusing and saying that god will take care of her. Leigh was able to get her sister but not her mom.
Then the story would've progressed after they were unable to make it to the military base before someone that was hiding a bite turned and compromised the entire base. They arrived only to watch the place be blown up. There are news reports of other safe locations so they start to head in that direction. The car eventually runs out of gas in the middle of nowhere and they're forced to continue on foot.
Eventually they meet a group of survivors which includes Y/n. The group accepts them as they have the same goal, to get somewhere safe.
Crazy stuff happens and eventually, Matt get's torn limb by limb by a heard of zombies along with a couple other survivors. Y/n saves Leigh's life but she hates Y/n for it. Until somehow they eventually grow closer. They start to bond over things that interested them in the life before the outbreak. They share inside jokes with each other as they continue to travel together. Y/n defends and protects Leigh's life whenever they encounter other survivors that aren't friendly. Yada yada they fall in love.
I think it’s kinda a shame how far zombies got from their source material
Don’t get me wrong, I like the way that they evolve over time reflects the fears of the people in that time period, but I still wish there was more of a connection to its source
So (this is just a really quick recap but I encourage everyone to go read up on more of it), zombies originated from Haiti (specifically Haitian slaves), and they weren’t violent, they were corpses reanimated against their will to continue being slaves, and the fear surrounding them was about becoming one, having your restful sleep stolen from you, and not being able to have that peace in death because of some jackass with magic
And yeah nowadays there’s a fear in being bitten, but idk, it’s less about the fear of becoming part of the horde and more about the fear of being torn apart by the horde, it’s not like how werewolves agonize over being werewolves, and I think it should be more like werewolves
Like even when a person has been bitten and is slowly becoming a zombie, it’s not really framed from their perspective of the fear of losing themselves and not being able to rest in peace, it’s always framed from the perspective of their loved one coming to terms that they may have to kill them to protect themselves
“Oh hell is full so that’s why the dead roam the earth” those are good people!!! who had their eternal rest robbed from them!!!!
I just. I just wish that killing a zombie was more about having mercy on them
