Question: Because the Impala is very important to me, I would love to hear some stories about the finale of The Winchesters and Meg driving Baby? And that whole experience about getting the car back on the show?
Jensen: Yeah, I think Robbie knew that he wanted to make that happen at the end, for the finale, quite a while before we even broke that story. So it was something to try to spice up that season finale, they try to do that just about on every show. Whether it's bringing back a familiar character or bringing in - paying for a very expensive song, which we also did? [audience cheering] No kidding, Kripke called me and is like, 'H-ho-how, how did you get Zeppelin?' And I was like, 'Name your kid Zeppelin, you get some Zeppelin.' So we knew we wanted to somehow incorporate the car, obviously I was on the docket to come back in my capacity and then we were also like we should get some other familiar faces. Luckily Jim was available, and Alex was available. Misha offered, but I said no. [turns to Jared] It's true. [both crack up] It's like, 'I'll come back, I'm not doing anything!' And I was like, 'Aww, it's okay.' [both crack up more] He was so hurt! [Jensen's still laughing] He's like, "Really?' And I'm like, 'Yeah, we're good. But good [??? luck, get out/looking out ???]'
Jared: Let me know how you [???]
Jensen: There is a reason for that, but I can't get into that. If we get to go, depending on the future of the show, I'll let you know sometime. That being said, yeah, getting the car back over there was something that we knew we were gonna do and so when we did, and then I saw the script and I was like 'Uh-oh-Meg's gonna drive it. That's, that's good. Didn't she just get her driver's license last week?' [to Jared] She grew up in New York, bro. She didn't need a driver's license. She learned to drive this year - last year. So luckily Meg is a skilled performer but also she's a truly talented singer and dancer, so she's very athletic, so she has really good spatial awareness. And she's got good motor skills, which are a necessity when you're driving.
Jared: Ha, I heard boner skills!
Jensen: Shut up! [snorts]
Q: She did say that she could barely reach the pedals.
Jensen: Well, that's her fault. She is height deprived. But yeah, I was just like, 'Okay, don't mess this up.' I did know that if anything ever happened to it, the car was immediately going back to a shop and getting fixed, so. But she did great and I'm glad that it worked out that way and I was really proud of what everybody did in that finale and I think it turned out really well and it's something I'm very proud of.

Vas-tu regarder The Winchesters?

the fact that eric kripke isn't even christian really adds something to the way christianity is depicted on supernatural. because its really not about being christian at all, but about living in america, a country dominated by christianity, and having to decide for yourself how to handle that. faith is huge in supernatural, and the mythology of the show is very bible-centric, but notably, christ is never there. even sam, who starts out revering the angels, who once said he prays every night, doesn't actually call himself a christian or imply that he believes in jesus--the show is steeped in christianity and biblical lore and yet neither sam nor dean are christians. in fact, over and over again the church itself is depicted as a haunted house that sam and dean will only ever enter as strangers, as outsiders. priests, preachers, faith healers, chapels, crypts, etc. are all just iconography that create an intense sense of unease that sam and dean respond to instantly. as a jew, its very relatable. an essential part of living in america when you're not christian is that exact sense of unease, of knowing that the culture of your country has ensured that you'll get knocked over by christianity no matter where you go, that you'll see hundreds of people truly believing they're good people while doing awful things in the name of their god, and you have no choice but to confront that. kripke gets it

i love u characters who are victims who don't show things in a way that's appealing i love u characters whos trauma leaves them with anger issues, with violence issues, with issues with connection and trust and being truthful i love you characters who don't get "better" in a way that's palatable, who don't find growth and meaning in their trauma

Fan: Why does Dean call Jack half-angel in the last episode but anti-christ and other bad names before?
Jensen: In the beginning, he could only see Lucifer in Jack, now he sees Cas.

This is kinda revolutionary? Just a few years ago destiel was queerbaiting fans to superhell but now? NOW? A show saw the fans HC a character as queer with valid evidence and instead went "you know what? You're right. We didn't originally plan this for them but we see you". Then four episodes into the season, canonized his queerness. Not the last second, Not the last Episode. the BEGINNING of the season, with time to expand AND we know we're getting another season after this. Just look how far we've come.

does anyone realize how crazy it is to have the actor of a mostly headcanoned queer ship say the fans were never crazy and they were right all along after 10+ years of everyone just absolutely going nuts over the said queerbaited ship

Yes yes Dean and Cas are in love and they want to gaze tenderly into one another's eyes and throw themselves into many nights of passionate gay love making, we know all that. But guys, they're best friends. Have we really stopped to think about that? Mr. Dean "can't have friends in this line of work" Winchester has a best friend :((

it is just insane to me that in every moment, every awful, terrible, painful moment, cas was in love with him.
and not only that, but even in this moment —
Tumblr media
cas won’t fight back. he won’t hurt dean, even if he’s barely dean anymore.
cas is still thinking — still beautiful. still dean winchester.

last three seasons spn are crazy. its just dean being borderline suicidal while sam tries to fix it by basically dangling his keys at him and going : “dean look! cowboys!” “dean look! strip club!” “dean look! haunted action figure.”
Meanwhile castiel is like i see that dean is suicidal, this is clearly my fault so i will remedy this by dying.

spn is such a funny show, it'll be like:
Naomi tells Cas he has to choose "us, or them" and 'them' is meant to imply Sam and Dean both, but then
she makes Cas kill fake copies of Dean only
Or Metatron will speechify about how Cas is "in love... with humanity"
and then give Cas another lil speech about how it was all "to save Dean Winchester. That was your goal, right? I mean, you draped yourself in the flag of Heaven, but ultimately it was about saving one human, right?"
Ishim shows up and tries to tell Cas how weak he is for befriending Sam and Dean
and then when he wants to "cure" Cas of his human weakness, that weakness is just Dean
AND THEN you'll have things like
Sam will say that Cas is family, that he'd die for him
but he also refers to Cas as an "it" just hanging around in a vessel strong enough to take on Lucifer (in season 11!! It's not like he said that in s4 or something, it was like 8 years after knowing the guy)
Or in "Regarding Dean," Dean will say to Sam "and our best friend's an angel!"
and then when he's by himself in the mirror, he'll say "and Cast--Cas is my best friend."
