One of my top five favorite movies: Spider-Man Into the Spider-verse

I just saw the sequel recently and I thought it was a good movie. Not as good as the first but a solid sequel. HOWEVER I cannot ignore the absolute L that was the new soundtrack.

Objectively, there is nothing wrong with the Across the Spider-Verse soundtrack. However in relation to the first soundtrack it feels like a complete regression. With the first one you had so many good artists and collaborations. The lyrics of most of the songs related to the movie’s themes. It was diverse but still felt like one collective. Really accentuated a lot of important parts of the film while still being legitimately enjoyable on its own. It was just really friggin good all around. And to go from that to a completely instrumental soundtrack? Like really? No hate to any of the creators, but as a fan I was looking forward to another soundtrack that I could really connect with and I just didn’t get that with the new one :(

showing the jedi define what’s right by what’s legal was pretty bold! there’s no real difference between the witches training children and the jedi training children, besides the jedi having the law + manpower on their side. and we know this, and we also know the jedi have the best of intentions when taking osha in. sol promises osha she’ll never have to feel the pain of losing family again, and he means it! but she never would’ve lost her family if the jedi hadn’t trespassed. it’s all so knotty. this will probably be the show’s lasting controversy, but it’s 1000x more interesting than the jedi being in the right all the time

I had a post a while ago about making sure your dnd character WANTS to be an adventurer a while ago, something else I’ve been thinking about is the importance of making a dnd character that WANTS to be in a group and have some sort of relationship with other PCs. the Group Nature of ttrpgs means lone wolves just aren’t feasible. if you really want to play a lone wolf or antisocial character at the beginning then I highly recommend telling your dm and the others players that you plan on forming bonds along the way and growing out of that mindset. otherwise why are you playing dnd, a group activity that involves cooperation and building relationships? Just Write A Book if you don’t wanna be in a group

What do you mean that Theo quite obviously became Liams anchor when Hayden left? What do you mean that Theo CONTINUOUSLY saved Liams ass over and over again after being shown as a selfish and deceitful person throughout the previous season? What do you MEAN that they parallel a CANON couple? What do you mean that most all of Theo’s smile are because of Liam? What do you mean that Liam became Theo’s grounding person since he doesn’t need an anchor(Liam said Theo’s name in that scene and Theo snapped out of the hallucination of Tara I’m going crazy)? WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT THEY LOOK AT EACH OTHER SO LOVINGLY AND YEARNFULLY AND BEAUTIFULLY?????? WHAT DO YOU MEANN???

*cracks knuckles* we know Tyler isn’t the original Clancy right? Y’all caught that? Clancy’s bishop was Keons, Tyler’s is Nico, and now “Clancy” is Tyler. Because “scaled and icy” is an anagram for “Clancy is dead” and that album was the one where dema was using Tyler’s popularity for their own purposes. Clancy failed to stop the cycle on his own, and despite already being used as a figurehead for dema, Tyler decided to take up the role of “Clancy” in the wake of what seemed like a total collapse of the Banditos. Their leader had been taken out, and now they had no one to organize them.

But Tyler taking on the name Clancy isn’t him taking on the role of leader or even organizer. He is showing us (the Banditos) that we all can be our own inspiration, we don’t need a figure to follow, we don’t need a leader to lead us. We can do this, fight dema, ourselves.

perhaps my most controversial jjk take is that higuruma hiromi would NOT be super muscular. or like, at all tbh.

i picture him as slim but maybe he has the beginnings of a little belly now that he’s older. too many nights eating takeout at the office, too many beers and whiskeys after losing yet another case.

he only had like a month between when he discovered his technique to when he met yuji in the culling game. he didn’t have time to train up, and he didn’t really need to, given how powerful his technique is.
