Moataz @moatazart, Mariam, and baby Maria are set to make the dangerous journey from Gaza City in the north to Rafah in the south. From there, God willing, they will enter Egypt.

HOWEVER, the money they had allocated to procure shelter and food while in Egypt was utterly depleted by exploitative fees and hidden costs, which we break down in this post. Moataz speaks more on the situation in this post and on his own blog @moatazart, which we ask people to follow and boost. They have a fund going to raise the remaining money, but the fund only has a week and a half left before it closes! They are not even halfway to their goal!

Please share what you can with Moataz’s family so they can find safety and security in Egypt! They have no one in Egypt with whom they can stay and currently nowhere near enough money to secure shelter! After all they have survived, please don’t let this young family be left vulnerable! If they cannot procure food and shelter, they will be extremely vulnerable not only to the dangers of homelessness, but to groups and individuals who prey on refugees!

Safety for Gazan refugees does not end with leaving Gaza! If this campaign is not finished in LESS THAN 2 WEEKS, they will be homeless in Egypt! They are so close to a fresh start, please don’t let all the risks they are taking to find safety be for nothing!

We are Nour and Nagham, doctors and sisters on the ground in Gaza, who founded and lead the globally supported initiative, PAL Humanity.

Since the beginning of this Genocide, we have been serving our community most notably through field visits and distributing aid (primarily diapers, menstrual/hygiene kits and formula). We have prioritized perinatal needs as well as children with special needs, as well as providing medication distribution en masse at UNWRA Schools where displaced families take refuge.

After a successful fundraiser focused on our aid distribution, as well as partnering with the OOB Perinatal Project, we have reached a point in our initiative where it is imperative to maximize our impact. So we are transitioning our service model from individual delivery focused to a distribution site within a full Medical Caravan model. While we will continue to perform field visits to displaced families who cannot reach us, the creation of our much needed Medical Caravan will allow us to support families at a volume simply impossible at the moment. Services provided will include medical checkups, prescriptions, distribution of medicine, hospital referrals etc. As we both volunteer at our local hospital, we have access to elevating and expediting referrals.

This community has helped us distribute 5,000 packets of diapers, 1000 packets of sanitary pads, 600 packets of milk etc.

We hope you will now help us raise $30,000 for our Medical Carvana and $50,000 for medications.

It is called Operation Olive Branch, which is a collective effort that verifies and compiles the funding campaigns of Palestinians in Gaza who need funds to support their wellbeing. Many of these involve needing money to cross the Egyptian border, afford living necessities and to get urgent healthcare for vulnerable family members. There are families with pregnant women, infants, elderly, sick, and Gazan heroes who are all in dire need of assistance. Everyone knows by know that the IDF bombs homes in designated unsafe areas. Not everyone realises they do this to designated safe areas too. Areas the IDF has told Gazans are safe. Areas they were told to evacuate too.

Entire families have been killed in Gaza.

Journalist Hossam Azam documents efforts by citizens of north Gaza to pool their scant resources and use donated funds to purchase expensive food items and distribute them to families at no cost. They were able to provide nutritious meals for 50 families.

Another way we’re supporting Palastine is by pre-ordering authentic kufiyas— Palestinians have confirmed that it is NOT appropriation to wear these, as wearing the kufiya shows solidarity to Palestine and keeps their beautiful culture alive all around the world. A symbol of hope, resistance, solidarity.

The Hirbawi Kufiya is now the only kufiya still being actively produced in Palestine— Yasser Hirbawi opened his historic factory in 1961, and they have been authentically woven in Palestine since.
