She shakes her head just so, looking off into nowhere, incredulous. Eventually her head spins back to Alice's. "S'just say you aren't very subtle." But the next question hits like a truck, and Birdie's brow furrows, her cigarette stuck between two fingers, hanging out in space, still as a stone. Her face, however is contorted into something between questioning uncertainty and temporary insanity. "Wow, you really're new huh."
Tumblr media
In that moment, she decides she might not like this girl - not for any good reason, but for pure jealousy. Her entrance into this entire nightmare was so jarring and vicious and violent that the notion that somebody could slip so sleepily into it almost sends the stolen blood in her veins to a boil.
Alice was more than surprised by the other's (astute, granted), accusation, and that reflected very clearly on the girl's face. She wouldn't be able to lie as much as she wanted to. "I'm - how did you know?"
It could be a secret power, she thought. Alice tried to watch vampire media since she came to terms with her new reality and see what was accurate and what wasn't, but she'd had little success thus far. How much easier would this be if they'd just gotten her a guidebook.
"Wait, you're not the person who did this to me, are you? Because this is not funny, it's ruining my life." Alice had never been very good at hiding her frustration, nor did she care much to do so in that moment. "I would like it to stop. Now."

“Ow! My hair!”
“Stay still, woman.”
Aemond readjusted his weight above you, grumbling as he leaned on his elbows. He huffed out a hot breath of air, which fanned your face while you lay on your back. His length softened within your walls the longer you stayed connected, preventing any seed from leaking out per the maester’s orders.
It had been nearly a whole year since you proclaimed your vows to your uncle under the eyes of the Seven. Your hand had been offered as a gesture of good faith, arguably a desperate attempt between both sides of your family to mend the rift that has been growing for years. It had worked somewhat, but as the moons passed and your relationship with your husband refused to warm, there have been growing concerns on either side of your family. Your animosity towards each other was no secret, with the vile insults Aemond had thrown against you and your brothers regarding your questionable parentage throughout your youth, which ended of course, in the incident. You had no part during that horrific night in Driftmark, but you were not saved from the consequences of that night.
Barely a moon after you had turned eight and ten, you sailed towards King’s Landing, to your fate. Your only comfort was the sight of your dear dragon flying above you, watching over you like a guardian. After you were draped by your lord husband with the dark, dragon-embroidered cloak, you made an agreement with each other. Aemond shall have his space, and you will have your own. You shall not bother him, and neither will he. However, you are expected to keep up appearances, at court, at the feasts, and even at the dinner table where queen Alicent pestered you both endlessly with any progress on your efforts in the marital bed. With the lingering friction still driving you apart from your husband, it was no surprise your womb still bore no fruit. He would call you to his chambers to perform your duties for one night each week, sometimes twice, for extra measures. Your efforts remained futile, for his seed never took and you remained childless many moons after your wedding. This growing concern has led to an intervention by the maesters, who recommended a myriad of methods that would aid in your conception.
You were to lay together every morning. Not at night, unless you wanted a girl.
The princess must clench her fist while her husband “did nature’s work”.
Your bed must face the east while you coupled, to ensure it is a boy.
The prince must remain inside the princess for an hour after he has finished to guarantee the seed is taken.
The last measure was absolutely dreadful. It was painful enough to have your womanhood assaulted by a man you rarely saw eye-to-eye with, but to stay there for an hour? Gods be good.
Aemond let out another grunt in your ear when his left arm grew sore from carrying his weight, shifting to lean onto the other arm instead. You turned your head to look at the hourglass on the nightstand. There was still a good amount of time left, and you silently prayed that the sand passed through the glass faster so you may escape this awful predicament. Your tailbone was starting to grow numb from the lack of movement, causing you to subtly shift your hips upwards to relieve the pressure from your backside.
“Stop it,” your husband hissed, making you huff in annoyance. Aemond rolled out his shoulder to relieve the soreness from the joint, before shifting his weight to do the same to the other. His long, silver hair enclosed you like a curtain, soft and light like the touch of a feather. You would be tempted to feel it under your fingertips if only it wasn’t tickling your face, adding to your aggravation. You moved his hair away from your face, letting out another huff. “Stop acting like this inconveniences only you, wife, I would’ve been much happier spending my mornings down in the training yard. My arms are getting too fucking tired,” Aemond grumbled.
You could feel his muscles start to tremble from the exertion of holding his weight up, unwilling to touch your skin by even a hair. You bit back a snarky response, starting to feel bad for him.
“Can’t we switch positions? Perhaps I could be on top,” you recommended, to which your husband only responded with a grunt.
“No, the maesters said we must stay this way. Any other way would make the seed fall rather than stay in. I do not want to do this any longer than we have to.”
You snickered at his words, turning your head away to subtly roll your eyes. Despite your irritation, his subtle quivering was making you feel sorry for him. You bit your lip as you thought about what to do.
“Here, why don’t you…” You placed a hand on his back, urging him to lay against you. Aemond had started to refuse, but you insisted, assuring him he wouldn’t crush you under his weight. With a sigh, your husband relaxed above you, finally letting his arms rest. He laid his head right beside yours, and with only a small turn you could smell the remnants of smoke in his starlit hair, coupled with the rosemary oil rubbed into his tresses every night. His lips ghosted over your shoulder; the skin exposed from when your nightgown had shifted askew. His warmth engulfed you like a warm blanket, his weight surprisingly comfortable. It was quite nice actually, despite your reluctance to admit the fact.
“Is this better?” you asked, your tone simmering down into a softer tone. Aemond hummed in response, turning his head to the side. His lips were now positioned right under your ear, and his every breath fanned the side of your face like a warm breeze on a summer’s day.
“Quite. Though this whole ‘laying for an hour’ nonsense is still quite dreadful, in my opinion,” he muttered. His voice buzzed directly into your ear, pulling a strange twinge in your chest when he did so. You trained your gaze on the embroidery on the roof of the canopy, studying the two dragons seemingly entwined against each other. It was almost like you and Aemond, funny enough.
“It is easy for you to say when men often find the act more enjoyable,” you commented almost bitterly. Aemond was silent momentarily upon your words, before seemingly snuggling even closer to you, though you assumed he was only trying to make himself comfortable.
“Is it so horrible?” your lord husband asked, a subtle hint of concern in his words that you barely caught. You turned to look at the hourglass again. Still quite a bit to go.
“Well, it hurts, more than anything.”
Another silence passed. Aemond’s mind ran a league in a minute at your words, reflecting on the pain he unknowingly inflicted upon you on the times you did your duty. As much as he harbored no love for your family, especially your bastard brothers, you were still his wife. His mother had instilled in him since he was a boy that any woman he would take as his wife should always be treated with respect, for she was an image of the Mother. Granted, Alicent was surely not picturing Rhaenyra’s only daughter beside her favored son upon the altar of the Sept when the day came, but the sentiment still extended to you all the same.
Aemond shifted his weight back to his hands as he lifted himself once more, so he may look upon your face. It was then he granted himself to really get a good look at you. He may be half-blind, but Aemond knew you were beautiful, there was no denying it. His good eye studied your features, noting the absence of the crease between your eyebrows whenever you were displeased, which was most of the time you spent by his side.
“I have no wish to hurt you,” he whispered.
“I know, ‘tis alright. I am tougher than I look,” you replied softly, your lips turning into a downward smile. Before you could stop yourself, your hands moved to tuck a stray strand of silver behind his ear on instinct. You looked into the purple of his good eye, the other covered by a patch of leather. “Besides, Daemon always used to say men have it much worse on the battlefield, for there is far less mercy when facing your enemies than your own wife,” you added to which Aemond only scoffed in response, shaking his head. Your chest rumbled with a laugh at his reaction, especially after his lips pursed into his signature feline-like pout.
Of course, Daemon would think that way, Aemond thought. His uncle was hardly the image of chivalry for any married couple across Westeros, and it was rather gauche of him to be bestowing any words of wisdom to his stepdaughter about the matters of matrimony.
All of a sudden, there was an odd feeling in his chest when your eyes seemed brighter than they had even before when you looked at him. He’d seen that light before, when you looked at your brothers, his half-sister, even at Helaena, but never him. You had such beautiful eyes, ones he could swim in their depths forever. Aemond faltered, unsure of what to do with this newfound flutter in his otherwise stone heart. He opted to lower himself to your warmth once more, burying his head into the junction where your neck and shoulder met. The scent of your flesh was naturally sweet, making him subtly press his nose into your skin.
“I am not your enemy,” he said, with a rather unfamiliar softness. He felt your hand come up to rest on his back, resting on the space in between his clothed shoulder blades. A small smile lifted the corners of your lips, one hidden from his view. You turned to look at the hourglass, which had already emptied. You made no move to tell Aemond to get up, but instead, you pressed the side of your face against his own, breathing in the scent of his hair.
“I know, husband.”
Tumblr media
Walking through the halls of Maegor’s Holdfast, Aemond thought back to all the depraved remarks Aegon would make him listen to about his experiences in the Streets of Silk— how the whores would touch him, and how he would touch them, making them mewl and sigh in delight. He knew not whether they were doing it only for show, but perhaps in some way his brother might have learned a thing or two in the many years he frequented the stinking streets of Flea Bottom just for a taste of flesh.
Despite better judgment, his feet led him to his brother’s door. His fist had raised to rap against the old wood, but then he faltered. Though seeking Aegon’s insight would surely be far less embarrassing than continuing to follow through with whatever the maesters have him and his wife doing in the marital bed, the endless jests and amusement the elder shall find in the matter would definitely haunt him for a long time. Your husband did not wish to humiliate you any further, not when the matter has already involved too many people. With a hair’s breadth between his fist and Aegon’s door, Aemond sighed, dropping his hand and turning on his heel to walk away.
He and his brother have had their fair share of women who have warmed their beds, Aegon more so than himself, but they have only ever fucked. It was for their pleasure, to quench the fire in their cocks. It wasn’t tender or sweet, or gods forbid… loving.  He knew he couldn’t treat his wife the same way he did a whore if he wanted your partnership to prosper; he couldn’t treat you this way.
He thought about asking his mother, though letting her know of your problems in bed, even more than what she already knew, would probably do them more harm than good. Perhaps Cole? No, that wouldn’t be a good option. Matters of the flesh are a touchy subject for Aemond’s mentor and father figure, perhaps even more so when the blood of the woman who shunned him is involved.
It had always been like this for him. A plethora of questions would boggle his young, curious mind, yet there was no one to indulge him. It had hurt him, of course, but he had learned that some things would have to be acquired by his own volition. This is how he had become such a prolific scholar, had come to claim Vhagar, and proven himself a man worthy of praise.
A laughter through the halls snapped him out of his exasperating worries. The glimmery shrill of youth, unmistakenly that of his sister’s babes, beckoned him like a beacon towards the nursery. There he found little Jaehaerys riding his wooden pony, mimicking a horse’s bray as he rocked back and forth. Helaena watched on in amusement, little Maelor clutched in her elbow. And then there was you, tickling his niece’s belly on the floor, a joyous laughter of your own adding to the symphony. You bent to pepper kisses into the crook of Jaehaera’s neck, making the girl squeal and kick her legs in delight.
You were so good with the babes, this Aemond couldn’t deny. You would offer to help Helaena watch over them on most days when she would grow weary and Aegon was away on the council. As much as your husband would try to look the other way, he couldn’t miss the way you looked at them with fondness, how you would press your nose into the youngest’s hair to smell that sweet, milky scent of his skin. Perhaps he would like to see you with a babe of your own. Yours and his, he wondered what they would be like.
“Oh, Aemond, come!” Helaena exclaimed, beckoning him over. It was then he realized he had been standing in the doorway like a fool, and so the prince stepped into the nursery. Jaehaera, after having spotted his approach, jumped to her feet in excitement. Aemond greeted her with a fond smile and a pat on the head, kneeling to her height. You moved your skirts to let your husband settle by your side, your knees slightly pressed against each other.
His eyepatch had been knocked askew when the young princess had gleefully embraced her uncle, and you had quickly righted it in its place. Your touch was light on his scarred cheek, a foreign featherlike caress that sent a slight shiver down his spine.
“Thank you, wife,” Aemond whispered, turning to you. There it was again, that little look on your face. You regarded him with a budding warmth he hadn’t quite known, a smile that rounded out the apples of your cheeks, though he figured it was one you directed to the little girl in his arms. He returned his gaze to Jaehaera, who had handed him a dragon toy to play with, willing himself to pay little mind to your lingering gaze burning the side of his cheek.
You couldn’t quite recall when your affections towards Aemond had started to change, all you knew was your heart didn’t hold the same twinge of displeasure in his presence, nor did you dread having to keep up appearances in court. There were some instances where you even sought him out, had peeked out the Keep’s yard to watch him train some mornings, all without his knowledge of course. Your coupling was still as unpleasant as ever, but you had grown to not mind the feeling of his weight on yours once the hourglass had been turned to start the hour, the pair of you descending into a comfortable silence most times. Going through the motions had gotten easier by the day, a well-practiced dance between the two of you.
You would wake with the sun’s rise, and then make your way to your husband’s chambers. He would be already awake, always, awaiting your arrival. The bed would be quite warm from his heat, thanks to his dragon blood, and it was a pleasant comfort to have. Once the deed was done, you were off to your separate duties for the day. It was routine at this point; therefore, it was quite odd when you were summoned to your husband’s chambers late into the night.
“It is nighttime,” you said when you entered as if it wasn’t quite obvious from the darkness that enveloped his apartments. Your husband was clad in his cotton tunic and breeches, sipping on a glass of wine.
“I know,” Aemond replied, turning to you. He could chuckle at the look of confusion on your face, with your furrowed brows that creased the skin between them, if it weren’t for the odd nerves swarming in his belly.
“Was there something you need?” you asked, accepting the cup of red that was handed to you.
“No, well… perhaps,” he muttered. You gulped your wine, a droplet spilling over the corner of your lips. Before you could act, Aemond’s thumb darted out to wipe away the tear of red that was on its way to run down your chin. You stopped yourself from jerking away, though you couldn’t deny your perplexion. “I just… I figured we could try something.”
“Try what?” you asked again. He was acting odd, with the way he was looking at anywhere but you, a contrast to his usual sharp form. This was starting to grow concerning; gods, he’s not about to kill you, is he?
“Do you trust me?” Aemond asked. He had gotten closer to you, quite close enough that you could feel the warm waft of his breath on your cheeks. His large, calloused palm cupped your jaw, warming up your cheeks. You stared up at him, wide-eyed, nodding your head meekly.
You trusted him, you really did, in an inexplicable, convoluted way. The past would tell you not to, but your time as his wife had shifted your connection into something intimate. Away from the endless troubles within your kin, all the terrible infighting with burning words and stares sharp as knives, you and Aemond found little trouble with each other, especially with the arrangements you agreed upon. After you had said your vows in the great Sept, you spent your first moons as the one-eyed prince’s wife with a guarded vigilance. You blocked the entrance to Maegor’s tunnels with your vanity, had given the first bite of your food to the rats in search of poison, and had even slept with a dagger underneath your pillow in case your uncle came to you in your sleep. There was none of that. Granted, the Hightowers weren’t the warmest, most welcoming bunch, but they treated you well— some of them, at least.
You weren’t sure where you stood with Aemond. You didn’t hate him, not anymore at least, and you would like to believe he wasn’t coming for your head anymore. The pair of you were… fine. You figured this was a comfortable position to be in, and you dared not utter the wish in your heart of hearts, in fear of rejection. The budding light in your chest as he looked at you now, in the dim glow of his chambers, made known what had been growing over the days you spent in his presence. It couldn’t be helped.
And now, as you stood toe to toe with him, your face cupped in his palm, you knew the balance was about to tip over; for better or for worse, however, you didn’t know.
Your breath came out as a shudder as his face descended upon yours, the time moving all too slow in your perception. Your hands tightened into fists in anticipation, your pulse thrumming in your ears so thunderously you could only hope he didn’t feel it. Just as his lips were a mere hair's breadth away from yours, Aemond stopped, sensing the rigid tension in your spine. With a sigh, he leaned his forehead against yours.
“Aemond, w-what has gotten into you?” you whispered, cautious to not break the solemn air in the room. Your hands came up to rest on his biceps, squeezing at them in question. He was silent for a moment, his eye closed in thought. You waited, patiently.
“I want to make you feel good,” your husband finally uttered in a whisper. You sputtered half words in shock. He did not need to do that, you expected little as a woman and were doing your duty in bed just fine. Why would he willingly want to do so? By the gods… why did he want to?
His thumb caressed your cheek ever so softly, pressing on the supple plumpness under the pad of his finger. He had leaned away, not too far, just enough to gauge your reaction.
Your throat felt dry, and you longed for the cup of wine you had set aside. Your mind ran a league in a minute, the proposition he was offering was one many women would kill their spouses for. Truthfully, you didn’t know what making you “feel good” would entail, your lack of knowledge and experience from your sheltered upbringing limiting your mind on the art of the ways of the flesh.
“Will you let me?” he asked.
You could say no and he would dismiss you, and the night would be over. You would pore on what could’ve been if you had said yes, and you would never know what would have transpired. You could say yes, and this whole thing would be a disaster, an embarrassment if it ended in proving how incompatible you truly were. Or… you would enjoy it, you both would.
You nodded your head again, still untrusting of your own words. Aemond walked you backward to the bed, urging you to lay back once the back of your knees hit the frame.
As his deft hands lifted your nightgown to your hips, you fisted the sheets tight in your hands in angst. You watched him as he watched you, or your womanhood, rather. Your husband’s tongue ran over his bottom lip, his good eye twinkling under the subtle warmth of the dimness in his chambers.
You felt open… exposed. The urge to cross your legs shut threatened to overwhelm you, but his hands caressing the meat of your thighs prevented you from doing so. He descended upon you, planting a trail of kisses down the inside of your thigh. Gooseflesh rose all over your skin, and you gasped when he came close to your flower, making you grip his shoulder to stop him.
“Aemond…” you breathed out.
“Let me do this for you,” he whispered, taking your wrist to direct his kisses there. “Have faith in me.”
You retracted your hand from his firm shoulder, leaning your weight on your elbow to watch him. His breath was hot against your slit, making you involuntarily clench. He started with light kisses on your mound, then little licks against your slit. His good eye flickered to gauge your reaction, where you had started to bite your lip. Two fingers split your folds open, baring all of you to his hungry gaze. His tongue delved deeper into your slit, penetrating you.
“Oh,” you exhaled, tilting your head back. With a surge of confidence, your husband began to devour you in earnest, licking and sucking. Sweet sounds, ones unheard of before, had started to spill from your lips, and what a delightful song it was.
A finger soon replaced his tongue, entering your gummy walls as though it were his cock. It thrust in and out of you the same way, and when he bent to feel up a rough patch within your walls, your toes clenched as a jolt ran up your spine.
“Good?” Aemond asked, to which you could only respond with a nod and a whine.
His lips found your pearl, and then another finger had joined the other. The prince soon found a rhythm, one that had you writhing and moaning unabashedly. What an odd sensation it was, yet utterly delicious as it was depraved.
The pressure in your stomach built in a steady rise. It sparked your muscles to twitch in Aemond’s hold, growing spasmodic as you were hurled closer to your precipice. You came with a whine, your head thrown back into the feather mattress as your husband guided you to your end.
“Where did you learn how to do that?” you asked, breathless. Black spots danced around your vision of him, swarming around the otherworldly sight of his flushed, glimmering lips and the loose silver strands that framed his face. It quirked into a small smirk as he regarded you, his arms caging you in between his hold. His hair draped around you like a curtain, the wispy ends tickling your nipples through the cotton of your dress.
“I am quite diligent in seeking the knowledge I might find useful, dear wife, and it seems they have proven to be so,” Aemond responded. You dared not ask what he meant, unwilling to learn who he had sucked and licked the way he did you to be so proficient in the act, how he had learned to poke all the right places to earn such lewd sounds from you. You merely hummed, tracing the line of his jaw in a trance.
His deft fingers had grabbed a hold of the straps of your nightgown, pulling them down to bare you fully. You let him, willingly so, encouraged by the look in his good eye that promised you more. His good eye was glued onto your breasts immediately before his warm, calloused hands took them into his hold. They fit perfectly in his palms, much to both of your delight. You bit your lip as he squeezed them, massaging the supple flesh and rubbing on your sensitive bud. Aemond could do this for hours, and if it weren’t for the throbbing in between his thighs, he would’ve done so.
His cotton tunic soon followed, then his breeches, and as he stood before you, cock stood stiff in attention, you get a good look at him. He was utterly handsome like this, bare and unguarded. You beckoned him closer, pulling on the strip that held half of his hair up. Soft fingertips trailed his jaw, his scar, before circling the leather patch that masked his left eye.
“Can I?” you whispered, looking into his good eye as he studied you. Aemond paused for a moment, almost faltering. The warmth of your thighs caged onto the sides of his waist was a welcome comfort, luring him closer to wanting to nestle in your ever-loving heat.
“Tis not a good sight to gaze upon,” he mumbled. You had cupped his jaw when he started to look away, keeping him close with a small smile.
“You are my husband. I wish to have you, all of you, as you will have me.”
A promise. An agreement.
A solemn echo of your vows upon the altar.
I am his and he is mine from this day, until the end of my days.
He had pulled the patch off from the clasp on the back of his head. The sparkle of the sapphire had stunned you in awe, and as you cupped his jaw, the look of wonder on your face and the lift in your lips couldn’t be helped.
“It is beautiful, husband,” you said, beaming up at him. “You are beautiful.”
He had huffed in amusement, planting a kiss on your cheek before mumbling into your skin, “I should be telling you that.”
His stiff length was hot and heavy as it sat against your hip, a reminder of the fire that still coursed through your veins. Aemond pulled away, the look in his eye taking a warmer, softer tinge as did yours. The smile on your lips had melted away to something sincere, hopeful. With a nod, you watched him take hold of his shaft, lining it upon your entrance. His breach was much smoother this time, no stabbing pain that made you scrunch your face, all thanks to his efforts in preparing you. It was rather delightful, a delicious stretch that made you bite your lip as he grunted above you. He would have asked you about the pain, but the deep kiss you had pulled him in to let him know there was little of it.
Aemond’s hips took on a steady pace, rocking into you gently and slowly. It was nothing lewd or animalistic, but rather sensual, intimate. You had never felt closer to him the way you did now, your connection transcending that of something physical. Your husband’s face was buried into the crook of your neck, his grunts and moans traveling straight into your auricle. You fared no better, your mewls echoing into the quiet of the room. Aemond had taken hold of your fisted hand, the godsdamned instructions from the maester taking on memory in your muscles, and he had pried them open. His larger, rougher fingers intertwined with yours, holding onto you for dear life as he took you deeper, and deeper, poking a spot within your womb that made you shiver in delight.
“Aemond,” you breathed out. His aquiline nose pressed into the side of your face, breathing into the sweet scent of your dampening flesh.
“Say it again… say my name again.” His voice was growing raspier by the second, but his tone was ever so soft with you, only you. His lips closed around one of your nipples, sucking on the stiff bud in a way that made you moan.
“Aemond, oh, Aemond! My lord husband,” you whined, holding onto the planes of his back as his pace hastened. His pubic bone rubbed on your pearl, sending shoots of fiery pleasure up your spine. Your grip on him was tight, almost numbing, but he relished in it. He wanted to feel you everywhere, kiss on every ounce of flesh he could, you were his after all.
“My wife, my dearest darling. Will you come for me again? Spill around my cock, hm?” You nodded fervently at his dirty whisper, wanting nothing else to do exactly as he asked. His forehead was prickled with salty sweat when he had pressed it against yours, his lips barely an inch away from yours. The silver-haired prince’s breath mingled with yours, and you had chased him when his tongue darted to lick a swipe across your bottom lip. Your release washed over you the moment he kissed you again, your moans swallowed by his hungry mouth. His length drove into you still, chasing his own release, and your spasming walls massaged him to guide him to his end. Aemond pulled away to look at where you were connected, committing the sight of his cock, painted with a white ring around its base, disappearing into your sweet cunny. His pace grew rhythmless as his hips began to sputter. He was close, evident from the way his eyebrows scrunched together. With a hand on your breast, the other on your jaw, your husband came with an open-mouthed groan, spilling his hot seed into your womb.
Aemond had moved to collapse by your side, but you had pulled him close to your chest, letting him lay on you with his softening length still nestled in your walls.
“Stay.”
You lay there together in silence, breathless, boneless. His hand rubbed on your waist, as did yours on his muscled back, comfortable in the silence you were in.
“I am sorry,” your husband had whispered, before shifting to lean on his elbow to look at you. “For…”
He need not say everything, or anything at all. You knew what he meant. That was all too long ago, almost a lifetime that scarcely felt yours. It was different now between you and him. The world could descend into flames and tear itself inside out, but you and Aemond would not lose each other.
You nodded, tucking a loose strand of silver behind his ear. “I am sorry too, deeply so.”
Slumber had found you while you were wrapped in your husband’s embrace, the heat emanating from his bare body pressed against yours a comforting blanket. In the morn, he had taken you again, slipping into your welcoming walls as you both stayed laid on your side. Aemond had left Cole a waiting fool in the courtyard while he missed his training, a curious deviation from his otherwise strict routine.
You were both learning how addicting this could be, though it seemed neither of you wanted to complain. You could hardly separate from your husband’s hold to dress to break your fast, and the pleasant glow on both your faces at the dining table with the rest of the family was a dead giveaway of the progression in your relationship. With the frequency of how much you latched onto each other every moment you found yourselves alone, it came as no surprise that by the end of the moon, the realm celebrated the growing babe in your womb.
A life forged by your own hand. Yours and his.

“Princess Y/N of house Velaryon.” The guard announces.
Rhaenyra’s heart skips a beat, surely he is mistaken.
“Mother,” Y/N says, racing toward her. “Your grace,” she corrects herself.
Rhaenyra wraps her eldest child in her arms. “Mother will do just fine.”
Y/N buries her face in Rhaenyra’s shoulder.
“How did you get here?” Aegon would never let her go of his own free will.
“Daemon,” Y/N breathes. Knowing that her stepfather will owe her for the half truth.
“Where are the children?”
“In King’s Landing.” Y/N tells her, “to keep Aegon’s wits about him in my absence. He wants to come to an agreement, he’s more than willing to bend the knee. I only ask that he and Helaena be spared…as for Aemond Targaryen, he is a murderer.” Y/N’s voice breaks, “we will avenge the murder of my brother.”
Rhaenyra’s strokes a hand over her hair, feeling the dark waves that remind her of Lucerys. “Aegon and Helaena will receive full pardons based on your testimony. Rest assured I appreciate what you have done on my behalf.”
“Thank you.” Y/N pulls back marginally, realizing her mother’s pregnant belly should be between them. “Where is the babe?”
Rhaenyra shakes her head.
Y/N covers her mouth with her hand, “I am terribly sorry.”
“It is no fault of yours, darling girl.”
“I should have been here with you.”
“When I offered your hand in marriage, I had no idea Aegon was capable of love. It has complicated all of this.”
Y/N nods, “speaking of my husband. I should send word that I am well, lest he take out his frustration on Dragonstone.”
Rhaenyra taps her chin, affectionately. “I will fetch a scroll.”
————————————————————————-
Aegon’s youngest son is the only one of his children to share Y/N’s dark locks. His wife insisted they name him Aegon. After my dearest love. She said.
Aegon agreed of course as he can deny her nothing. The child wails nonstop, in the absence of his mother. At all of four months old, Aegon is the only one who can quiet him besides Y/N. As such, the King is now attending the small council meeting with a babe in his arms.
Their daughter, Dahlia, the eldest of the twins will sit the iron throne one day, through his line of succession and Rhaenyra’s. At all of six, she is sitting at the table. His other children Visera and Laenor have not been properly protected under the guard, they too must stay in his sightline.
“Gods be good.” Alicent frowns at her son.
“What is it?” Aegon huffs, arching a brow at her.
“The small council is no place for children, your grace.” Alicent explains. “They would be better tended by their maids.”
Aegon nods, “right. As you all know, two nights ago, the Princess Helaena was attacked in the children’s chambers. Our heirs were threatened and Queen Y/N was taken from us. During which time, not a single guard could be found on the entirety of the royal floor! Because you were-”
Aegon looks to his children in turn, “cover your ears my darlings.” He smiles, waiting until they have done as they’re told, holding his own hand over his infant’s ear. “Where were we, mother? Oh, that’s right, no one was guarding my children because you were fucking the royal guard.”
The council members lower their heads in acknowledgement.
“The men who carried out this attack, entered under the guise of rat catching. I want them found and swiftly executed.” Aegon demands, patting his sleeping son’s leg.
“We have been interrogating rat catchers for days, thus far we have no leads.” Otto explains.
A slow smile spreads over the King’s face. “Then hang them all.”
Alicent blanches.
“Anything else?” Aegon asks, watching Visera begin toying with Otto’s chair.
“A letter arrived from Dragonstone, your grace.” Lord Tyland informs him.
“Oh?” Aegon says, “from Rhaenyra?”
“From Queen Y/N.”
Aegon swallows, “did you read it?”
“No, my King.”
“Good,” Aegon reaches for the rolled parchment.
‘My dearest Aegon,
Please know that I am well. We would like to begin negotiations to end the blockade and create a peaceful transfer of power. This will require your cooperation, I hope you will meet me at Dragonstone to discuss this matter farther.
Forever yours,
Y/N’
Aegon exhales, sharply.
“What is it, your grace?”
“The children and I are off to Dragonstone.”
“Whatever for?”
“To negotiate the terms of Y/N’s return.”
“My King…”
“And if you cannot agree on said terms?” Alicent asks.
Aegon frowns, lifting a shoulder. “To war then.”
“He is unhinged,” Otto whispers to his daughter.
“As I warned he would be.” Alicent rises from her seat. “He is quite…devoted to her.”
————————————————————————
“It has been three days since you sent word to King’s Landing. We must assume Aegon’s silence is his response.” Daemon seethes, around the drawing table.
“Give it time.” Y/N insists, “you owe me that.”
Daemon smirks, “I owe you nothing, spoiled thing.”
“Mmm,” Y/N hums. “My mother does not yet know how I came to be here.”
“And you are not going to tell her. Otherwise, my distaste for your usurping cunt of a husband will be demonstrated at length.”
Sunfyre roars, calling their attention to the nearest window.
Daemon huffs, “I’ll be damned.”
“And he’s brought the children.” Y/N rejoices, running out to join her family.
Jacaerys is already helping to unload her children from the makeshift carriage on the dragon’s saddle.
“Mother!” Dahlia and Visera charge Y/N nearly knocking her backwards.
Laenor runs after them with his little legs as Aegon the fourth, stares at her, babbling in his father’s arms.
Y/N is moved to tears, “you came.”
“You didn’t think I would?” Aegon cocks his head to the side.
“It’s a rather large ask,” Y/N explains.
“For you, the world.” He replies, with a kiss to her temple. “Now, where is Rhaenyra? We have much to discuss.”
“Her grace will join us soon.”
Aegon nods, “I request a small audience, before the council.”
“That can be arranged.”
“After which your brother might tend the children whilst you show me your quarters.” Aegon whispers.
Y/N smirks, “of course.”

————————————————————————————🌙————————————————————————
Your eyes shot open again for what felt like the 10th time that night, painfully alert despite the heaviness weighing down your eyelids. That feeling in your throat wouldn’t go away- that hoarse, hard-to-breathe feeling of dread that clawed at you from the inside. Your chest heaved, but you couldn’t figure out why. Nothing was wrong, was it? Your brows furrowed as you tried to think; am I forgetting a deadline? Did I leave something on in my apartment before coming here? Is the universe about to implode and it’s just waiting for me to fall asleep so it can get it over with? The frustration got the better of you, tired tears pricking your lash line and you turned your head to the side, hoping to relieve your anxiety with the view resting on the pillow beside you.
It was unfair, really, how pretty Spencer looked when he slept- how pretty he looked all the time but especially like this. At his most peaceful. His lips were parted slightly, gentle puffs of air faintly hitting your shoulder where his face rested so close to you (proof of how clingy a sleeper he was no matter how much he would deny it). His soft hair fell half over his eyes and half over his pillow, the moonlight creeping in through the curtains highlighting that tiny bump on his nose you’ve traced with your finger a thousand times. It should have calmed you down. It usually does. But tonight, the way his eyelids fluttered ever so delicately as he dreamt just made you feel worse as you watched him, wide, wide awake.
With a huff, you tossed onto your side with your back to him as you planted your gaze on the digital clock glaring back at you, its violent red lights mocking you from the nightstand. You were so focused on trying to calm your relentlessly unsteady breathing that you didn’t notice the arm sneaking around your waist from behind you.
“Hey,” a raspy voice whispered, making you jump slightly, but you didn’t turn around. “Is everything okay?”
“Just can’t sleep.” You mumbled quietly, narrowing your eyes so that the blaring red numbers became nothing but a blur.
The arm pulled you closer. “Yeah, I know. I’ve woken up to you going to the bathroom four times tonight already, that’s far higher than your nightly average.”
Guiltily, your eyes squeezed shut as you sucked a sharp breath in through your teeth. You thought you’d gotten away with not waking him up. You’d been trying absolutely anything to appease your brain and convince it to let you get even an hour of sleep. At first you thought maybe I just need to pee and haven’t realised it, but then after another thirty minutes in bed you convinced yourself you must just be too warm and needed to splash some cold water on your face. The third time you thought brushing your teeth again might reinforce the ‘okay it’s bedtime’ part of your brain- and the fourth time had just been to cry.
“I didn’t mean to wake you, I’m sorry.”
“Always wake me if something’s wrong, sweetheart.” Spencer pressed a small kiss to your shoulder as his thumb rubbed circles over your stomach. Sighing, you finally decided to roll over to face him.
God, those eyes. They were always the first thing you saw when you looked at him, how could they not be? Even half asleep they glimmered in the low light, hues of brown and gold glowing through the darkness of the twilight. Right now they were looking at you with so much love and so much worry that it almost made you feel at ease again- but not quite.
“I don’t know what’s wrong. I think I feel sick.” You spoke, voice small yet pounding in your head with every word.
“Sick how, baby?” Spencer asked, his voice like honey as he moved to run a gentle hand through your hair.
You pouted slightly as you thought about it, but you didn’t really know. Did you even feel sick? You thought you felt a little nauseous, but maybe it was just the breathlessness you were still fighting.
“Anxiety.” You decided on. You tried to force out more words than that, but they wouldn’t come.
“Okay,” he nodded understandingly, fingers never stopping their tender motions against your scalp, “can you tell me what you’re anxious about?”
You felt bad- he was trying so hard to help and you couldn’t even meet him half way.
“I don’t know. I don’t know, I’m sorry.” Your voice shook as you trailed off and the look in his eyes hardened slightly but not at you, never at you, at whatever had happened in the past to make you apologise for needing help.
“Why are you saying sorry?”
“Because I woke you up and I can’t even tell you why.” You sniffled, scrunching up your nose in a way you’d picked up from him. “I’m keeping us both awake and I don’t even know why.”
“Well, can you tell me what you’re thinking about now?” He asked, voice low and soothing like some kind of angelic white noise.
Closing your eyes, you took a deep breath. All you saw behind your eyelids was the unforgiving blinking of the clock behind you.
“I’m thinking that it’s two o’clock in the damn morning and I’ve been trying to sleep for three hours. I’m thinking that even if I fall asleep now I’ll only get four hours of sleep, but actually I’m going to get even less than that because of the time I’m wasting right now talking about it. That’s not even what was bothering me in the first place, though.”
“But it’s certainly not helping, is it?” Spencer hummed and you nodded into his touch. “Could you try and tell me what was bothering you?”
You shook your head and your face crumpled, the feeling in your throat tightening as you threw your forehead against his shoulder. Instinctively, he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close as he pressed a dozen kisses into your hair. A small whimper left your lips, muffled against his sleep shirt, and you allowed yourself to melt into him as his hands rubbed your spine in time with his coos against your ear.
“You’re okay, baby. You’re okay. Breathe with me, yeah? In and out, that’s it.”
Eventually your breathing evened out as it matched his pace. You immediately felt so much calmer, like your lungs had forgotten their rhythm without him but were finally back in harmony. A tranquil silence wrapped the two of you in a warm embrace as you breathed in his comforting smell, grounding yourself to him. After a while, he pulled back, pressing a light kiss to the tip of your nose as he spoke.
“Are you feeling better?”
“Yeah. Not perfect, but yeah.” You gave him a small smile, and you watched the worry vanish from his eyes as you did. “I still don’t know what was wrong, though. I just couldn’t get my brain to shut up.”
“It’s okay not to know sometimes, but you can’t let yourself spiral like that on your own. Not when I’m right here for you.”
“I know, Spence. I’m s-“
“Hey.” He cut you off with mock seriousness, brows furrowing as you let out a tiny giggle. “No more talk of the ‘S’ word, okay?”
“Okay, okay.” A mischievous grin tugged at the corners of your lips. “My apologies.”
The side glance he shot you almost made you burst out laughing in his face, but you bit it back.
“You won’t win me over with your sarcastic use of synonyms.” He warned, though the smile growing on his face said otherwise. “Hey, can I try reading to you? It might help you get some sleep, or if not it’ll at least relax you a little.”
A warmth bloomed in your chest, replacing the unnamed dread from earlier. It may not help you to sleep, but the promise of listening to his heavenly voice babble on as you tuck yourself into him was simply too good to pass up.
“I would love that if you don’t mind staying awake.”
“For all you know this could just be my clever ruse to trick you into letting me stay up all night reading.” Spencer hopped out of bed excitedly, leaning back over the mattress to press a quick kiss to your lips before darting out of the room.
In his absence, you hugged his pillow to your chest, smiling to yourself as you listened to him stumble around the living room in the dark as he made his way to the library worthy bookshelves lining the walls. After a few moments he wandered back in, mirroring your position as he clung his chosen book to his own chest.
“Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland?” You questioned, raising an eyebrow slightly as he climbed back into bed beside you.
“You don’t like it?” He asked, turning the book over in his hands. “I could go and pick something else?”
“No, no. Alice is fine. I promise.” You added when you noticed he still had one leg on the floor ready to jump back into action. “It’s just whenever you run off to get a book I expect you to bring back something five thousand pages long and written in Russian.”
He chuckled as he pulled his leg up onto the bed with finality, pulling the duvet up over you both. “I’m not convinced that would make as good a bedtime story.”
Sighing contently, you nestled into his side as his arm draped around your shoulders. “What makes Alice a good bedtime story, then?” You asked, just to hear him ramble.
“Actually,” he began, voice quieter, more vulnerable than before, “I used to read this to myself as a kid when I couldn’t sleep.”
“I thought you were reading, like, Shakespeare and stuff as a kid.” You mumbled, gleefully picturing a little Spencer in his too-big glasses in your head.
“I was.” He laughed lightly, pausing to take a short breath before continuing. “But I used to read this when I was anxious, like you. Some nights I would be so worried about my mom that I couldn’t sleep and this would always be the first book I went to. It’s absurd, it’s irrational- at times even scary- but the fact it all worked out in the end made me feel better.”
“I never knew that.” You whispered. He rolled his bottom lip between his teeth slowly, his gaze distant for a moment before falling back to you.
“Getting lost in someone else’s world gave me hope about my own, and more importantly right now, always put me to sleep.” He took your hand in his, gently pulling your arm around his waist as his other hand flicked open the cover of the book. “I hope it does the same for you.”
With a dramatic clearing of his throat and a spill of laughter from you, Spencer began reading. As he spoke you couldn’t help but picture him as a young boy tucked up in bed with a mini flashlight between his teeth or a lamp on his nightstand, glasses slipping down his nose as he read. You wondered if he read in his head, painting vivid imagery in his mind like his own private movie, or if he read aloud to himself quietly, mindful of his sleeping mother down the hall. Did he read with the same excitement in his voice as he narrated Alice’s head poking through the roof of the house? Did he give the blue caterpillar the same silly voice he’s speaking in now or has he made it up fresh to make you smile? You wondered as your eyelids grew heavy again if when he fell asleep he dreamt of white rabbits and mad hatters, his glasses still perched on his nose and book open in his little lap.
You couldn’t pin point where in the story you’d finally dozed off, but you know you fell asleep happy wrapped in the arms of the love of your life, the sweetest soul to ever grace the air you breathe. Next time, you wouldn’t hesitate to wake him up.

Press your space face close to mine, love
Pairing: Mark Grayson (Invincible (2021)) x f!reader
Summary: sweet, clumsy, giggly sex with your best friend
Notes: No use of Y/N, reader is into comics, reader wears earrings, reader is somewhat quiet during sex (not counting talking), reader wears makeup
Cw: cunnilingus, penetrative sex
Tw: mention of (fictional) sex trafficking
“No, it’s just, like, they can’t bring up sex trafficking and let the buyer fuckin’ get away with it?” you laugh incredulously, tracing the outline of the Alice in Wonderland-esque girls on the page of your Robin: Year One comic. You turn the page, re-reading the foreign president’s claim of diplomatic immunity. “Fucking insane. Where’s the justice?”
Mark hums, his chest rumbling slightly from underneath where your cheek is pressed against his clothed sternum. His large, warm hand is settled loosely on your hipbone, his thumb dipping under your shirt and swiping across your skin. The pads of his fingertips have become rougher with the years of superhero work—no longer soft and delicate like in his childhood.
“Don’t you think that’s on purpose?”
You tut, glancing up at him.
“That’s stupid,” you grumble. “Screw Chuck Dixon.”
“It’s not stupid. It’s realistic,” Mark laugh softly, pressing a totally platonic kiss to the crown of your head. “But it’s your own fault. I told you to go for Frank Miller instead.”
“I heard he’s a weirdo,” you counter, rolling your eyes.
Mark snorts.
“What? He’s a legend. He did The Killing Joke.”
“No, he didn’t?” You laugh, shuffling around to grin up at him with your chests now pressed against each other. “That’s Alan Moore, doofus.”
You’re met with a sheepish, crooked grin. Mark shrugs.
“You’re the DC geek, not me. I stay loyal to my GOAT.”
“Oh, Seance Dog, huh?” You giggle, playfully digging your fingers into Mark’s ribs.
He laughs, grabbing onto your wrists with his warm and slightly clammy hands, tugging them away.
“Cut it out,” he says, wrapping his arms around you tightly in a caging embrace. He squeezes gently, ever careful not to hurt you with his superhuman strength, but still enough to immobilize you. “I’ve got you now.”
“Mark!” You shriek, wiggling in his grasp but to no avail. You laugh, dropping your head into the crook of his neck with a huff. “Oh— oh, real funny. Let me go.”
“Nuh-uh,” he teases, blowing a raspberry at you. “Apologize.”
You continue to laugh softly, lifting your head. The tip of your nose brushes against his jaw, then up to his cheek. It’s incredibly unsexy how the overly sensitive pickup of his old record player jumps at your ministrations in bed, making a shuffling noise over his speakers before skipping from the beginning of David Bowie’s Soul Love to somewhere in the middle of Moonage Daydream.
Still giggling, you press a lingering kiss to his cheek alongside a muttered apology.
“No— no worries,” Mark murmurs, smiling softly at you. The moment is quiet, save for the hum of the electric guitar, saxophone, and pennywhistle of the Ziggy Stardust version of the song playing. He reaches up, his fingers gingerly brushing across your brow-bone.
“Is Bowie having an influence on me or are we having a moment?” He asks with a wry smile.
“I think that’s actually the body’s natural reaction to hearing David Bowie and looking someone deeply into the eyes,” you whisper-giggle, nudging the tip of his nose with your own.
“A-ha,” Mark says, smiling back at you. “You’re so smart. Did I ever tell you that?”
“Mhm,” you hum, “but I like hearing it.”
At some point, Moonage Daydream becomes Starman, and you can’t help but let out another laugh.
“That’s you,” you say, still laying half on top of him. “Starman. From the stars. An alien—“
“Comedic genius we’ve got here,” he laughs with a grin, moving you fully on top of him with his hands planted on your ribcage. He sits up, tugging you closer easily and leans in to kiss you. His lips are thin but soft, experimentally capturing your bottom lip. The touch is lingering, and he only lets go after a few long seconds, then awaits your reaction.
Your tongue darts out, wetting your lips as you consider the kiss. It was nice. Really nice. You can’t remember the last time your heart beat this fast.
“You okay?” He whispers, bringing one hand up to your cheek. “We can stop.”
You shake your head.
“I liked it,” you whisper, smiling. “You’re a good kisser.”
He grins cockily, the hand on your ribcage sliding down to the small of your back.
“Oh, baby, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”
You snort, giving him a gentle and playful shove against his firm chest.
“Cut it out, loser,” you laugh before leaning in to kiss him again. “You’re so stupid. I hate you.”
“Uh-huh,” he hums in between soft, tender kisses. “Love you, too.”
He lowers his back onto the bed and you follow, placing a hand down on the bed for support when—
“Fuck!” You laugh, quickly shifting your weight to the other hand now planted on his chest. You scramble for the trade paperback you just crunched underneath your hand. “No! My baby!”
“I thought I was your baby,” Mark laughs, helping you move the slightly creased comic off the bed. “Here, c’mere.”
He lifts you into his arms, his hands planted firmly underneath your ass as he allows you to place the book back into its box set case. Then, as he walks back toward his bed, he trips over a discarded Seance Dog figurine with pointy ears that dig into the sole of his foot. He yelps, stumbling forward but retaining his grip on you as he turn around mid-air, catching himself with the internal center of gravity that allows him to float.
You shriek, laughing as you smack into his chest.
“Careful!” You laugh, kissing the corner of his slanted eye. “You’re gonna drop me!”
“I’d never drop you,” he laughs, turning his face to kiss your cheek. “I got you. Yeah? Always got you.”
He settles the two of you back into the bed carefully with you on your back and him on top of you. Something seems to click in his mind as he suddenly begins to shift your position.
“Sorry, you’ll probably not want me on top—“
“Mark,” you laugh softly, stopping him. “No, stop. You’re overthinking it. I like it.”
“Yeah?” He whispers with a shy grin, sliding in between your legs as he leans down. “Don’t know why we’ve never done this before.”
“Never thought I was your type,” you respond, brushing his inky hair back. “You’ve always gone for, like… cool, capable types. Uh, serious types, I guess.”
He raises a brow.
“Are you implying that you’re not cool and capable? ‘Cause that’s just not true.”
“Alright, alright,” you chuckle, leaning up to kiss him again. “You know what I mean. I didn’t think you saw me as, like…”
“I do,” he says, his smile softening. “Very much. Always have. If anything, I didn’t think you thought I had the potential. I thought you saw me as this annoying brother—“
“Nuh-uh, no way,” you stop him. “Too weird.”
“Understood,” he chuckles, capturing your lips once again. His hand comes up to cradle your jaw as he gently pries your lips apart. His experience isn’t vast, but he makes do with what he has. Warm, fresh blood pumps through your blood vessels as your heart beats faster and you feel flustered. It’s all too much and not enough as he kisses you slowly, only to end up breaking it because he’s unable to contain his smile.
“You are… unbelievably beautiful,” he whispers, peppering your face with soft, almost chaste, kisses. “Not to mention fucking cool. Don’t ever doubt that.”
“You’re awfully sweet,” you breathe out, your chest rising and falling with your quickened breath. “But you always have been, I guess.”
“Nothing compared to you,” he exhales, trailing his lips down the column of your throat. “Sweet girl. Pretty girl.”
He laughs softly against your warm skin.
“Sorry. I’m being corny.”
A weak grin tugs at the corners of your lips, only held back by your breathlessness.
“I like corny,” you whisper, the words softer and more tender than you mean for them to be.
“You do?” Mark asks uncertainly. Something tugs at his heart as he’s briefly reminded of a time long ago when Amber dismissed his attempt at a pet name (baby) (totally reasonable and fair! People have their preferences, but he’d be lying if he said it didn’t bring him down a little).
“Yeah,” you laugh softly, fingers threading through his hair. “It’s sweet. None of that pornified dirty talk.”
“What? You don’t want this big cock?” He asks, slotting himself against your hips and purposefully lowering his voice and pushing his chest out comically. “Bet you’ve never had a real man, sweetheart.”
You snort, exploding in a flurry of giggles as you push his shoulder (gently).
“Shut the fuck up,” you laugh, wrapping your arms around his neck.
“Yeah, that’s right,” he continues in the voice. “Choke on my huge fuckin’—“
You laugh, burying your face in the crook of his neck. Mark smiled warmly, unable to contain his own laughter.
“Too corny?” He asks.
“Too porn-y,” you correct him, wiping the mirthful tears that have escaped your eyes.
He laughs, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead.
“Okay. Sorry, sorry.”
His fingers dip underneath the bottom hemline of your shirt, splaying out against your skin.
“Hey, can I— can I take your shirt off?” He asks, biting the inside of his cheek. His skin is flushed, tinted red, and he looks down at you with so much happiness in his eyes.
“Yeah— yeah, okay,” you breathe out, adjusting yourself on the bed as he clumsily begins tugging your shirt up. It gets stuck at multiple points—below your back, in your earrings, but amidst both of your giggling, Mark manages to get it off. He glances down at your exposed torso with a small grin.
“Nice,” he whispers to himself, nodding.
“Shut up, dork,” you laugh, tugging on his sky blue t-shirt that fits wonderfully snugly around his biceps. “Quid pro quo.”
“Oh, you wanna get me naked, huh?” He laughs, briefly letting go of you to tug the shirt over his head, only for the crew neck to get caught on his nose.
Sitting up with a laugh, you reach up to help him get untangled.
“My hero,” he sighs blissfully, wrapping his bare arms around you again as he leans in to kiss you. The shirt is discarded somewhere on the floor now, but your focus is solely on the feeling of his warm, broad chest pressed against your own.
Your hand trails down his chest, then further down across his abdomen. The muscles below your fingertips tighten, and Mark smiles into the kiss. You meet the waistline of his jeans, finding the edge of an elastic band peeking out along the periphery. Teasingly, you pull it out and let it snap back against his skin.
“Hey!” He laughs, nipping at your jaw. “I’m supposed to do that!”
“Too little, too late, lover boy,” you snort, pressing another soft kiss to his lips. Your hand still rests on his lower abdomen, your thumb swiping down from his navel and over the beginning trail of dark hair.
He sighs, reaching up with both hands to cup your face as he deepens the kiss. With your bottom lip between both of his and the occasional bump of noses or clash of teeth, he tilts your head back and lets his tongue dart out against yours—briefly, tastefully.
“Hey,” he pants softly, “are we—?“
“Yeah?” You murmur in between kisses. “If— if you want to—?”
“I do, I do,” he laughs, kissing your cheek. “Very much so. Should we discuss the, uh, implications?”
You’re still laughing softly alongside him, nudging his nose with yours.
“I… I like you,” you admit. “If you want more, that’s… great. If not, that’s cool, too. I’m fine either way.”
“Okay,” he says with a smile. “I mean, I… very much would like something more.”
“Great,” you say, your smile widening. “I was totally downplaying my feelings by the way.”
“No, I know,” he laughs, reaching down to tug your bottoms down. “Hips, please.”
It takes you a second to register his request, but then you’re shifting your weight back against your shoulders and pressing into the bed as you lift your hips. With a slight struggle (technical, not physical. He could’ve ripped them off you easily, but he knows you’re fond of your clothes), he manages to shrug them down and leave you in your underwear.
“Cute,” he comments, running a hand up your hip.
“Thanks,” you respond. You hook your fingers into the belt loops of his jeans and tug. “Your turn.”
He grins, fumbling with the button for a moment before unzipping, floating above the bed as he scrambles to get his jeans down past his knees.
“Socks off, too, you freak,” you laughs watching him curl around himself to disrobe.
“I don’t know, I think socks-on is kind of sexy,” he jokes, lowering himself to the bed again as he crawls over you.
You lean up to kiss him.
“Gross. Never ever express your personal opinion again.”
He snorts, giggling as he leans into the kiss. His lips trail down your throat and collarbone, then further down over the curve of your breast. He fumbles to discard your personal choice of bra style before hesitantly glancing up at you.
You nod, smiling encouragingly as you run your fingers through his hair, your nails scraping against his scalp.
He sighs blissfully, capturing your nipple between his lips in a soft, brief kiss before continuing down the underside of your breast. His hand comes to gently press against your other breast, his thumb running over the summit of your areola where your nipple peaks.
Continuing his descend, his lips trail down your stomach all the way down to the edge of your underwear. He shifts in bed, slipping his arms around your thighs as he lowers himself, his nose pressing into your clothed clit as he gingerly mouths at the (slightly) soaked material.
You inhale sharply, tensing up slightly.
“You know what you’re doing?” You croak out in an attempt at being playful.
“Yeah,” Mark responds confidently, then falters and grins sheepishly. “Kind of? I think?”
“You think,” you repeat with a soft, breathless laugh, letting your head fall back against his pillow (which smells just like him; fresh and soapy and something vaguely Mark).
“Just let me try,” he laughs, tugging your underwear down. “Tell me if it’s too horrible.”
“I guess I’ll sacrifice myself,” you giggle, smiling up at the Seance Dog poster above his bed.
“How noble of you,” he giggles before experimentally licking up the underside of your clit. The pressure is weird and sharp even though it’s vaguely pleasurable and you make a disgruntled noise, shifting slightly away.
“Wha—? Not good?” He asks, looking up at you with wide eyes.
“No,” you respond carefully, not wanting to discourage him but also not wanting to lie. “Uh, weird. The angle is… I don’t know.”
“Okay,” he responds, cheeks slightly red with embarrassment. “Okay, no, sure. I can take criticism. I’ll— let me try something different.”
He tilts his head down slightly while moving up, suctioning on your clit but this time from above and pressing down. His tongue swipes side-to-side to the best of his ability.
Dropping your shoulders, you feel your body become less tense. You sink into the bed, sighing as you thread your fingers through Mark’s hair.
“Better?” He murmurs, licking down to your opening before returning his attention to your clit.
“Yeah,” you laugh softly, smiling blissfully. “Maybe you do know what you’re doing.”
“Hey, female anatomy is different on every woman,” he laughs, continuing to kiss your clit while now slipping a singular finger into your entrance. “It’s not like there’s a guidebook, and you’d rock my shit if I used porn as my inspiration.”
“Duh,” you sigh, humming softly. Your eyes are closed, and the only indicator that you’re being pleasured is the warmth to your skin and your slightly labored breathing. “It’s an exploitative business that preys on marginalized women.”
“You’re so sexy when you care about the state of the world,” Mark laughs softly, hesitantly prodding with another finger. “This okay?”
“Mhm,” you hum, wetness lubricating you enough to allow for both his middle and ring finger to slowly slide inside you. The actual penetration itself does little for you, the main pleasure deriving instead from his attention on your clit, but the feeling of having Mark—your Mark—so close is comforting and adds to the sensuality of the experience. You sigh, shifting your hips slightly. “S’nice.”
“Just nice?” He asks softly with a small smile.
“You know what I mean,” you laugh softly, your breath hitching slightly as you feel yourself approaching an orgasm. “Really nice.”
“I aim to please,” he hums, sliding his fingers deeper into you as he licks into your sex.
“When do you not?” You ask breathlessly, smiling down at him. Your eyes meet and he squeezes your thigh gently, appreciating the understanding you always seem to have for him.
He continues to gently but eagerly eat you out, and by the time you’ve hit the 2-minute mark and you haven’t come, you start feeling guilty.
“You don’t have to continue,” you murmur, a foreign shame and sensation of self-disgust and greed hitting you. “We can move on to—“
“Baby, I’ve got a superhuman jaw and tongue,” he says playfully while smiling reassuringly up at you. “I can handle this. And you need to get out of your own head. You’re the one always talking about how male-centered sex is and how misogynistic it is that anything female-centered is considered foreplay.”
You grin softly.
“So you do listen to my rants.”
“Are you kidding me?” He laughs. “I love hearing you talk. And, you’ve got great points. I learn something new every day.”
With that, you allow yourself to be selfishly pleasured. You allow yourself to let the focus, the attention, be solely on you for no other reason than the fact that Mark wants it to be on you. A few moments later, your breathing becomes more shallow, your hips more restless as you buck up against Mark’s mouth, your grip on his hair tightening.
“Mh— ah,” you whisper, brows furrowed together. “Oh.”
Mark grins victoriously, your reaction renewing his energy.
“Close?”
“Yeah,” you breathe out, laughing softly as you raise yourself to your elbows. “Mmh…”
Mark focuses his attention on your clit, a dedicated concentration used as he continues to mouth at you until finally, you inhale deeply, your grip on his hair tightening. You tense up, curling up into his touch and stilling for a moment before shaking lightly, your hips bucking upward a few times. The quietest of whines escape you.
Slowly, you relax back against the bed, your fingers uncurling from his now slightly damp hair.
“How’d I do?” He asks, coming up with a bright puppy-like grin.
“Good,” you exhale, your skin pulsing with the rush of fresh blood throughout your body. “Really good.”
He leans down to kiss you deeply—sloppily this time, less controlled. More saliva is exchanged given his previous excessive use of his tongue which has clearly activated the salivary glands, but it’s sweet and tender nonetheless.
You pant softly against his lips for a few moments, catching your breath before you speak.
“Let me repay the favor—“
“Not a favor,” Mark interrupts, kissing your forehead. “My pleasure. We could also just stop now if you’re not up for more.”
His words are sincere, but the firm outline of his dick against your thigh tells you that he would very much enjoy continuing.
“C’mere,” you murmur, tugging him down for another kiss. You hesitantly bring your hand down to rub over his bulge, amused by how it feels both hard and soft at the same time.
Mark exhales shakily, dropping his head down into the crook of your neck.
“Mmh… that’s nice.”
“Just nice?” You murmur, mimicking his own previous words. You try to get a feel for the shape of him, but as he begins to slowly rock his hips into your hand, a nicer, less teasing side of you takes over and you tug down his boxers.
Much like the rest of him, he’s pretty. Just above average in length, slender, the same fair color as the rest of him but with a reddened, uncut tip. The base is covered in a well-groomed layer of dark hair.
“Don’t stare at my dick, you weirdo,” he laughs, capturing your lips in another kiss.
“You just spent the last five minutes between my legs, I’m allowed compensation.”
He scrunches up his nose, snorting.
“When you put it like that…”
He hooks his hands under your knees, lifting slightly as he hovers above you. He grabs onto his dick, gently stroking it before nudging the tip against your soaked pussy, slowly easing the inches inside.
“You okay? Tell me if you’re not okay,” Mark says softly, worry lacing his tone despite his eager outward appearance.
You nod, feeling the slightest of stretches, though he’s spent so long working you open that it’s little more than a pinch.
“I’m okay,” you whisper, letting out a breathless laugh.
“Good, good,” he laughs softly, groaning as he bottoms out. He takes a second to just settle inside you, his nose pressed into the dewy skin of your neck. He breathes slowly, his hands running up and down your sides. Still not moving, he peppers soft kisses up your neck.
“Wait, fuck!” He laughs, pulling out of you and scrambling toward his bedside table drawer. “Condom!”
“Oh, my God,” you laugh, covering your face with your hands as you giggle.
“Safe sex. Hell yeah,” Mark says, ripping open the package. He fishes out the condom, fumbling slightly as he pinches the slippery tip before rolling it down. “Don’t worry, babe. I got this. Basically a pro.”
“You’re such an idiot,” you laugh, smiling lovingly at him.
“All part of the appeal,” he laughs softly, gently re-entering you. “Still good?”
“Uh-huh,” you say softly. “Babe, huh?”
“Do you hate it?” He ask, cringing. “I can—“
“No,” you interrupt with a soft laugh, leaning up to kiss him again. “No, I like it. I like all the corny nicknames.”
“Yeah?” He asks, perking up. “Cute-pie. Sweetie. Gorgeous. Pretty, pretty girl.”
Steadily, he begins to rock his hips against you, exhaling shakily as you squeeze around him.
You hum softly, curling your hand around the back of his neck as you let him build up a rhythm. Your legs wrap around his hips, your own hips lifting with every slow thrust to meet him halfway. The penetration feels slightly strange, too intrusive and filling, but Mark’s reassuring smile has you smiling back and feeling comfortable. Once again, you don’t feel much pleasure from the friction inside you, but you find yourself enjoying being close to Mark.
He reaches down with one shaky hand, his finger coming down to press firmly against your clit while swiping against it.
“It’s hard to keep the pace actually,” he laughs softly, struggling with his finger. “It’s very slippery.”
“You’re doing just fine,” you laugh softly back, leaning up to kiss him.
Mark continues his pace, his thrusts short and slow as he kisses you back. It’s sweet how he kisses you, entirely focused on the sensation of lips against lips. His breathing becomes shallow and he groans quietly into your mouth.
“You’re so quiet,” he pants softly. “I feel like an idiot next to you.”
“No, no, don’t,” you whisper, peppering his face with reassuring kisses. “I like hearing you. And I feel really good, noise just doesn’t really come easily to me, y’know? But it feels good.”
“Okay,” he pants softly, followed by a whine. “I trust you. I believe you.”
You smile, kissing him again. Turns out you really like kissing him.
Soon enough his hips stutter against yours and he hides his face in the crook of your neck as he groans lowly, thrusting loosely into you as he comes. He stills, though his fingers continue to rub against you until you follow with a quiet, hitched gasp moments later.
You grab onto his hand, pressing it against your sex for another moment until the pressure is relieved and you can stand coming down from the intense stimulation.
Mark slumps down on the bed next to you, fumbling with unrolling the slippery latex around his dick before he can toss it in the trash can.
“Oh, man,” he laughs softly, rubbing a hand across his dewy, pink face. “That was insane. You’re insane.”
He turns, resting on one elbow as he leans over to kiss you.
“You’ve ruined me, I think. Like, permanently.”
You laugh softly into the kiss, reaching up to caress his face.
“There’s that sweetness again,” you murmur.
He grins, kissing the tip of your nose.
“You’re even prettier now,” he says, reaching up to smudge out the mascara stains on your eyelids. “Pretty girl.”
“Pretty boy,” you counter playfully.
“Got nothing on you,” he laughs, wrapping his bare arms tightly around you. While squeezing, he presses slow, languid kisses down the side of your face and neck. “Prettiest girl in the world.”
You smile, relaxing in his strong grip.
“Always got you,” he murmurs softly. “Except for now. You should go avoid a UTI.”
You laugh again, pressing a quick kiss to his lips before reaching down for your shirt.
“As long as I don’t meet your mom on my way to the bathroom, I’ll be fine.”
You stand up, stretching out your limbs before climbing back into your bottoms.
Mark let’s out a teasing purr from where he’s lying in bed, the covers only pulled up halfway across his hips.
“Come here often?” He asks, winking at you.
“I sure hope so,” you say with a soft chuckle, leaning down to kiss his forehead.
Mark smiles lovingly up at you,
“Is it super dorky and loser-like if I say I think I love you?”
“Yeah,” you say with a small grin. “But I guess that’s part of your appeal.”
“Right?” He laughs, locking his hands behind his head as he stretches out.
“I love you, too, dummy,” you laugh softly before slipping out of his bedroom and down the hall toward the bathroom.

Sleep? Never.
It’s so peaceful here. The sun is warm, wrapping around you like a blanket. The waves roll lazily in the distance, their rhythmic crashing blending with the occasional seagull call. You’re stretched out on your stomach, the sand soft beneath you, eyes closed, completely weightless.
Next to you, Alexia flips through a book, one hand resting on your lower back, tracing lazy circles. The food was incredible, the drinks even better. You could stay here forever, basking in the sun, in the quiet, in—
A cry.
A sharp, piercing cry slices through the tranquility. It sounds robotic, unnatural.
Maybe it’s not real.
Maybe the beach isn’t real.
The cries grow louder, like a personal concert—one you’d never pay to attend. Something tugs at your arm.
"Baby."
Is this real?
"Baby, wake up."
No, no, no, no, no.
"I don’t want to."
"She’s hungry."
"So go feed her."
"I physically can’t."
You groan, rubbing your eyes, and glance at the baby monitor. Alice’s face, red with frustration, fills the screen.
"Alexia, I’m so tired it’s not even funny."
"I know, baby," she sighs, already swinging her legs off the bed. "I’ll go get her."
You wave a lazy hand. "It’s the least you can do."
Alexia doesn’t dignify that with a response—smart move. She disappears down the hall, and a few moments later, returns with a very angry, very hungry Alice.
You blink, groggy. "Didn’t I just feed her?"
"It’s been four hours."
You’re already adjusting your pajama blouse, making room for the tiny milk addict currently squirming in Alexia’s arms.
Alice immediately wiggles toward you, desperate, latching on with the urgency of someone who has been completely neglected for decades. Her tiny fingers clutch at your shirt like she’s afraid you might disappear.
"I wonder where she gets it from," you murmur, narrowing your eyes at Alice’s sheer determination.
Alexia raises an eyebrow. "Gets what from?"
You gesture vaguely at the baby. "The dramatics. The belief that the world revolves around her."
Alexia scoffs, leaning against the headboard. "Wow. No idea where she could’ve picked that up, remember when you cried because someone at the store got the last bag you wanted?"
Your jaw drops. "That was a devastating loss, Alexia. That bag and I had a connection."
Alexia crosses her arms. "You never even touched it."
You throw your head back against the pillow. "Because I was savoring the moment! And then—boom—stolen from me."
Alexia rolls her eyes so hard you’re surprised they don’t get stuck. "Right. Just like how the universe ‘betrayed’ you when your favorite pen ran out of ink."
You scoff. "That pen and I had history."
Alexia shakes her head, but she’s smiling, fingers grazing over Alice’s back. "She’s cute when she’s not screaming."
You smirk. "So, like, ten percent of the time?"
Alexia huffs, nudging you with her knee. "Don’t be mean."
"I’m not! I love her. Even when she’s screaming in my face."
Alice sighs against you, her little body going limp, milk-drunk and utterly satisfied. Her tiny eyelashes flutter as sleep creeps in.
Alexia watches her, softer now. "She’s getting so big."
You hum, stroking Alice’s back. "She drooled in my mouth today."
Alexia snorts. "That’s disgusting."
"It was. I think I saw my soul leave my body."
Before Alexia can respond, Alice suddenly unlatches with a loud, unapologetic burp—straight onto your pajama top.
You freeze. Alexia claps a hand over her mouth, her whole body shaking with barely contained laughter.
You slowly look down at the damage. Then back up at Alexia. "Oh. My. God."
Alexia loses it.
She wheezes, wiping fake tears from her eyes. "I love her so much."
"You’re supposed to be on my side."
Alexia grins, already grabbing a clean pajama top for you. "I am. I just really enjoy watching you suffer."
She helps you change, pressing a kiss to your cheek as Alice gives a sleepy little sigh against your chest.
Once Alice is full, her tiny fingers unclench, her whole body relaxing. Alexia laughs under her breath before carefully lifting her from your arms. "I’ll put her back in her crib."
You nod, already sinking into the pillows, exhaustion pulling at you again. Alexia cradles Alice to her chest, murmuring something too soft to hear as she disappears down the hall.
But then—
Minutes pass.
And Alexia doesn’t come back.
You groggily peek at the baby monitor on the nightstand.
She’s still in there.
You watch as Alexia stands beside the crib, swaying slightly, her fingers brushing over Alice’s tiny back. Even after Alice has fully drifted off, she doesn’t put her down right away. She just stays, watching her with a quiet smile.
Through the baby monitor, you see her finally tuck Alice in. But instead of leaving, she lingers, adjusting the blanket, smoothing a hand over Alice’s hair.
You should sleep. You should take the chance while you can. But you can’t, because the bed feels too empty.
You roll over, rubbing your face, and press a button on the monitor.
"Babe."
A second later, the monitor crackles.
"What?"
"Come back to bed."
"She’s just settling, give me a second."
"She’s asleep. You’re just staring at her."
A guilty pause. Then, "Maybe."
You groan, rolling onto your back. "Alexia, I can’t sleep without you."
The monitor crackles again. "You are so dramatic."
"Says the person who’s been watching a sleeping baby for twenty minutes."
Silence. "Okay, fair."
A minute later, the bed dips, and Alexia slides under the covers, immediately curling into your side.
"You’re obsessed with her," you mumble, half-asleep.
"She’s my child," Alexia deadpans.
You peek one eye open. "I was starting to think you were gonna move in there."
Alexia sighs, pressing her face against your shoulder. "And leave you alone in this state? You’d probably stage a protest."
You smirk, nuzzling into her. "I was already drafting a strongly worded letter."
Alexia chuckles, her arms tightening around you. "I don’t doubt it."
Your breathing slows, warmth settling over you.
And just like that, with Alexia beside you, sleep finally comes.

You swore, pleaded, and begged your mother not to send you on a marital tour. You wanted to fight for your mothers claim, for revenge, with your dragon Silverwing. A giant beast whose loyalty to you was greater than any other.
You did not wish to be paraded around the realm as if you were a ladder for a house to climb towards the crown. But you knew it was inevitable.
Your mother had no desire to betroth you to the only eligible Targaryen. Nor did Alicent have any desire to wed her trueborn son to the bastard daughter of Dragonstone. And now it was impossible, blood was shed and war was afoot.
In the gantry of Dragonstone, Silverwing stood beside you as you begrudgingly shoved your hands into the leather of your riding gloves. Her feeling your unhappiness nudged you with her snout as she often did. It used to push you to the ground but now you were used to it. You ran your hand up her snout, smiling softly as her nostrils flared and her eyes blinked slowly at you.
Though your smile faded once you saw your mother entering the mounting dock. As she smiled somberly upon you, you looked away from her defiantly. “Must I go?” You asked, your gentle tone thinly veiled your anger.
She stepped closer to you, “I was once in your position myself. The idea of marriage itself once greatly disagreed with me.” She said with a tilt of her head, attempting to console you one last time.
You turned to her, “Then why send me off?” you said in a huff.
With a huff in return your mother began her lecture, “The Riverlands would be an invaluable asset in this war. Deamon has already complicated our position there enough.” Her passion rose in her voice, and her eyes narrowed, “A marriage to a respected house would strengthen our support. But I do not wish to pick a suitor for you, a luxury that I was not granted.” She sighed, letting go of her anger. Understanding your position. “Marriage is partnership. Find someone who you can lean on, someone who has the humility to lean on you. As I did with your father.” She said softly.
You sighed, stepping closer to her. “No one will want me. It will be a great jest to them.” You whispered to her.
Your mother looked upon you with confusion, “Why would you-”
“Jurnegon rȳ nyke, muña.  Nyke gīmigon iksan kostōba.  Āzma hen Perzys Ānogār. Eman jorrāelagon syt ziry, yn issa gīda naejot mirre iksan daor āzma hen lopor se embar.” “Look at me,  Mother. I know I am strong. Born of fire and blood, yes. And despite my love for it, it is clear to all I am not born of salt and sea.” You spoke in High Valyrian in an attempt to hide your words from outsiders.
Your mother looked around paranoid that there might be ears around. She turned to you, holding your cheek in your hand, “Emā se ānogar hen uēpa Valyria isse aōha ānogar.  Iksā iā zaldrīzes kipagīros.  Dārilaros hen sīkuda Dārȳti.  Dārilaros naejot Driftmārki.  Iksā iā Targārien.  Konīr iksis daor iā lentor bona ivestragon daor.” “You have the blood of old Valyria in your veins. You are a dragon rider. Princess of the seven kingdoms. Heir to Driftmark. You are a Targaryen. There is not a house that could refuse you.” She said with hard eyes and a strong conviction in her voice. Attempting to convince you of your own importance desperately.
You sighed, looking down. “Lī vali jaelagon nyke syt ñuha ānogar se daorun tolī.  Jaelan naejot jorrāelagon se sagon jorrāelatan.” “Those men want me for my blood and nothing more. I want to love and be loved.” You said, the sadness in you grew, and Silverwing let out a small whine as she felt it too.
Your mother looked upon you sweetly, seeing so much of herself in you. She ran her hand along the length of your hair, “Nyke nykēla iksin daor biare naejot sagon wed naejot aōha kepa.  Yn isse jēda kesā ūndegon, hēnka.  Hae nyke se aōha kepa gōntan. Se riñar kessa sagon aōha rovaja biarves.  Kesā dohaeragon aōha gaomilaksir lēda rōvēgrie rigle.  Mazverdagon bisa ojūdan syt aōha ānogar.” “I myself was not happy to be wed to your father. But in time you will find commonality. As I and your father did. And children will be your greatest happiness. You will serve your duty with great honor. Make this sacrifice for your house.” Her last words were the words of a ruler, not a mother. But you understood her position well enough.
You look towards Silverwing, who’s loving eyes look upon you.
You thought for a moment, even if you married a man you would never be able to take you away from your dragon. And with your dragon, you’d always be free.
You let out one last defiant huff, “What if they are all old and terrible?” You asked like a child.
Your mother sharply exhaled through her nose as she smirked at your attitude. “Fly safely, sweet girl.” She said as she kissed your brow before leaving you to fly.
꒰ ୨୧ ─ ・┈
As you flew over the Riverlands, you approached the large plot of land that the good Lords of Riverland picked for you to receive suitors. You could see the crowds of men like ants below you.
Part of you wanted to command Silverwing to burn them all, the other half of you wanted to keep flying and not look back. However neither part could hold sway in this. If you wanted revenge for Luke, or Rhaenys, you would need to play your role no matter how unpleasant it may be.
As you landed, the men attempted to remain calm and composed. However as Silverwing’s weight shook the ground, and her roar crackled through the air, the men took cautious steps backwards and tried to hold their gasps to themselves. You smirked to yourself as you dismounted.
“You are late, Princess.” Ser Lorent, a member of your mothers Queens Guard said to you.
You bit down on the finger of your leather gloves as you pulled them off, “Well then we’d ought to proceed in haste.” You said with a mischievous smile.
“Introducing, Princess (Y/N). Trueborn daughter of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen and Lord Leanor Velaryon. Heir to Driftmark, the future Lady of the tides and master of ships.” Ser Lorent announced as you sat at the makeshift throne they’d created for you.
And so the vieding began. One Lord after another, giving you the same speech of how honorable their house is, and how loyal they have always been to your mothers inheritance. Soon your patience was running thinner, and thinner.
It was only when an elderly man approached, and began speaking to his worth for your hand. You scoffed to yourself as he did so shamelessly, “My Princess, If chosen I will ensure your safety-”
You interrupted him, “Tell me Lord Chambers, how do you plan on protecting me when you are older than my own Grandsire?” The old man stared at you, his mouth agape as the other men began to snicker, “It is a reasonable question.” You finished.
“My Princess,” Ser Lorent said under his breathe in annoyance,
“I mislike old men who think themselves worthy of any woman.” You said to him quietly.
He sighed “Next,” Ser Lorent called out in a huff.
As you saw the next plain faced boy walking towards the front of the line you turned back to the knight beside you, “Ser Lorent, I am quite tired and quite famished. As is Silverwing.” you said in a desperate attempt to finish this marital tour early.
As you stood from your seat, Silverwing cried out and the thunder in the sky rang. Clouds gathered over the Riverlands, and the winds began to shift. However you were undeterred, paying no mind to it, you continued to walk towards Silverwing who was already laying close to the ground for you to mount her.
Ser Lorent however came towards you, grabbing your arm gently. “A storm approaches,” Ser Lorent warned you.
You looked upon the sky, ready to crack at any moment. But then shaking your head and then resuming your strides towards your beast. “Silverwing has seen worse.”
“I do not think that is wise, my Princess. Silverwing has seen worse in flight but you have not. You lack the experience.” He called out over the sky’s loud rumbles.
He spoke truly, and it frustrated you. You spun around looking towards him, “Well what would you have me do?”
Ser Lorent looked behind him, raising his hand presenting the men that stood there, “We've the Lords of this Land here, they’d be more than honored to offer bread and milk to a Princess.”
You were not at all thrilled by the idea of it. Though as the sky began to crack, and the water fell from the heavens above you, you’d no choice. “What of Silverwing?”
Ser Lorent was much more concerned with your own well being than that of a dragon, one that could manage fine on its own. “Leave the beast for the night-”
You shook your head, and retorted quickly, “I will not leave Silverwing. She’s mine.” You said with strong conviction.
He huffed, growing more frustrated by your stubbornness. “My Princess, the only place with large enough land to accommodate such a beast would be the Raventree Hall.”
“Who occupies it?” You nearly shouted over the growing rain,
“The Blackwoods, my Princess.” Ser Lorent shouted back, loud enough for the Blackwoods to hear it.
Lord Blackwood almost appeared out of thin air as he approached you with his seven sons. The sight made you exhausted at the idea of being under a roof with them, “We’d be most grateful if you and your dragon accept our guest right, my Princess.” You thought of it for a moment, but with no choice you nodded hesitantly, The Lord looked giddy like a child as he turned to his nephew behind him, “Benjicot give the Princess your cloak for Gods sake.”
The lad came to you, holding a black and red cloak. He did not look you in the eye but stared at the ground as he approached you. Once he stood face to face with you, he looked down into your eyes. You felt a shiver down your spine, surely it was due to the frightful weather. He gently placed the cloak upon your shoulders before giving you a slight respectful nod, “My Princess.”
You looked at him with curious eyes, “I thank you.” You said to him, earnestly.
“Fly your beast to the fields of RavenTree, our men will take care of you.” Lord Blackwood shouted.
You nodded, then mounted Silverwing, “Rȳbās, dokimarvose, Silverwing! sagon gīda, rȳbagon, dohaerās, sōvēs!” “Focus, pay attention, Silverwing! Be calm, listen, obey, fly!” You shouted over the thundering rains now roaring through the skies, commanding your beast. To which she as always eagerly obeyed.
꒰ ୨୧ ─ ・┈
In Raventree you sat at the head of a large dinner table with the rest of the Blackwoods. You awkwardly picked at the food that was being served to you on the finest plates they owned. All the while Lord Blackwood went on and on about their houses' histories. All that you could stand but your patience was tested when the Lord Black wood began to say… “It would of course be a great honor, the highest honor, for the Princess to consider one of our sons-”
Benjicot placed his fork down loudly, as he kept his head low looking over to his uncle, “Uncle, I am sure the Princess would rather eat.” It was as if he could tell the question offended you.
You looked at the dark haired man sitting beside you. His eyes met yours for only a moment before he looked away. You wanted to thank him, but could tell his comment only upset his uncle.
Your eyes stayed on Ben as you said, “I thank you-” Before turning your head to his uncle, “for your hospitality. And I thank you for your… proposals.” You said politely, attempting to hide your discomfort.
Lord Blackwells attention then again turning back to you smiled as he leaned forward at the other end of the table, "I once vied for your mother, the Queen Rhaenyra's hand, before she wed Ser Laenor. I always liked her spirit. She had the true blood of the dragon. Just as I see it in you.” He said with a smile, you suspected it was to be a compliment but it only made you feel dirty.
“Uncle.” Benjicot said under his breath, glaring at his uncle. You could feel the hostility emanating off of him.
His uncle glared back at him, and rather than allow an altercation to take place you interjected.
“Your house honors me, my Lord. I thank you, and the crown shall not forget your service. However, it has been a long day, and I spent many hours on dragon back. I should bid you all a pleasant night.”
The Lord bowed his head, “Of course, my Princess.” He turned to a handmaiden who stood behind him holding a large bottle of their wine. “Jeyne, take the Princess (Y/N) to her chambers.”
As you followed the handmaiden to your chambers, your loyal knight Ser Lorent followed closely behind you. “Who are you considering, my Princess?” He asked closely to your ear.
You breathed a sigh of relief allowing your snarky personality to resurface, “I am considering many things. None of them are any of those men we saw today.”
You reminded Ser Lorent of the most annoying parts of your mother when she was young. He huffed, “If you do not select a suitor, my Princess… The Riverlands-”
“Would now surely turn their cloaks, I know it.” As you reached your chambers, you turned to him, “Allow me to sleep. I’ll have an answer on the Marrow.” You conceded.
He nodded somberly, “Goodnight, my Princess.” He said before leaving.
You did not sleep however. Your mind was restless. Of all the men you saw today, none offered you anything. None of them seemed to have any humility. Nor did any excite you. You stared out the window of your chambers, watching Silverwing lay in the fields of Raventree. She sighed restlessly, just as you did. You hated leaving her in such weather, but as the rains let up, you grabbed the cloak the blackwood nephew offered you.
And so you snuck out of your chambers, so kindly given to you by the Blackwoods. With the intention of riding Silverwing back home and begging your mothers forgiveness and pray she doesn’t decide on a match for you.
However as you tread through the wet grass and mud towards your gorgeous beast. You unexpectedly were confronted with a rowdy group of Blackwood boys drinking from two large jugs of ale. You stopped in your tracks and stared at them with wide eyes, to which they returned the same look of shock when they saw you. Their loud speaking, laughing, and singing came to a stop once they saw you.
“My Lady!” One of the boys said as he hid the jug of ale behind his back.
The one beside him smacked the back of his head, “She’s not a lady, she’s a princess!” The other loudly corrected.
You raised your hands up, “Sh!” You commanded, not wanting Ser Lorent to hear.
The eldest looking one began to stammer, “Princess, I- I apologize we thought you were abed.”
You waved your hand in dismissal, “It’s quite alright.” You wrapped yourself in the cloak for warmth,  “It’s your home.” The boys looked at you with confusion. They did not want to question a princess but they really had no idea what you were doing out in the fields after such a storm. “I could not find sleep. So I took to a walk.” It technically was not a lie.
The boys looked at you in silence, unsure of what to say or do. Until the younger boy revealing his jug of ale from behind his back, “We’ve ale-”
The boy offered you, but soon a familiar voice rang out within the group of lads. “A Princess does not drink our shit ale.” Benjicot said as he stepped forward.
You however did not need your honor defended against a drink. A drink you so badly needed, “I’ll drink it.” You said stepping forward and grabbing the jug and taking a swig.
And soon enough you were as tipsy as the rest of the lads, and walking along the fields of the Blackwood land. You found yourself actually enjoying yourself. The boys were kind, and amused you. In fact you couldn’t think of the last time you’d laughed.
The boys gasped as they saw your large beast fly across the sky. Her form covers the light of the moon for a moment.
You smiled as you looked upon her, “Silverwing. She bonded with me when I was a girl the age of ten and two.”
“Can we ride on it?” The younger blackwood boy asked innocently.
“Don’t be daft, the beast would eat you alive!” The eldest boy said, scolding his younger brother.
Amused you smiled as you pasted the jug of ale back. This time Benjicot took it from you. His hand gently brushed against your own. When his warm skin touched your own, you felt a chill. As if you’d never been touched before. You looked into his eyes. He didn’t seem so hard, his gaze was warm. You didn’t want to look away, and you didn’t want to move your hand. And from his stare you could tell neither did he. Until his gaze was ripped from you as six other men approached from down a tall hill.
Ben took the jug of ale from your hands, “Bracken cunts.” he grumbled  as he stepped in front of you, “Take the Princess back to Raventree Hall.” He ordered as he glared at the men approaching you. Though none dared to touch you.
“Fitting!” One of the men in yellow said, “A bastard belongs with a Blackwood.“ They laughed.
“What did you say?” Ben hissed, attempting to step towards them but one of the other blackwood boys held him back.
The man in yellow pointed at you, “The bastard’s dragon ate five Bracken cows.” He shouted.
Before Ben pushed his cousin off of him but before he could do or say anything else, you spoke up, “I would see to it that your house was given their worth doubled for your trouble. But your words are treasonous and above all a great insult to my mother the Queen.” You spoke calmly but your tone was dark and deep.
The Bracken stifled a laugh, stepping closer to you, “Your false Queen mother is a whore. What Velaryon has hair like that?”
Benjicot stepped closer to the Bracken, blocking his path to you, “You wouldn’t dare.” He said, holding onto the hilt of his dagger. Ready to take the Brackens tongue for his words.
As your heartbeat rose, a large thud shook the ground beneath your feet. Silence that followed rang loudly. But not as loudly as the rumble of a heavy growl Silverwing made as the large ghastly beast began crawling down the tall hill. She began to open her mouth, with the heat and light of fire emanating from it.
“Daor! Likiri, gaomagon daor nābēmagon, Silverwing!” “Be Calm, do not attack, Silverwing!” You commanded, and she obeyed. She let out a sigh, and a whine, eager to protect her rider.
“Jikagon, kisalbar va tolī nuspes.” “Go, feast on more cows.” Your command pleased her well enough as she took to the sky once more. The flap of her wings and a large gust of wind pushed some of the Brackens into the mud.
Your eyes went back down to the Brackens, “I just saved your very life. You might wish to thank me, by leaving my presence.” The men scattered, running back over the hill.
Benjicot turned back to you, “I’ll see you to your chamber.” He said with a huff as he walked past you.
As you followed the lads back, they were silent, aside from the youngest Blackwood making a few comments of how exciting it was to see a dragon up close. To which his older brother smacked the back of their head.
Once Benjicot and you reached the door to your chamber, he stood there for a moment, trying his hardest not to look at you. As if he were restraining himself from something.
“I enjoyed myself tonight. You have a charming family.” You said attempting to ease the awkward silence.
His eyes finally found yours, unable to resist your gaze any longer. As you looked up at him, his dark hair messied from the night wind. His nose was slightly crooked no doubt from another fight. Something he seemed to enjoy. You found his temper to light a heat within your body. As did his gaze. It was lustful and warm.
Your eyes fixated on his lips, he’d a small scar from his top lip to his nose. Perhaps it was from when he was a babe, or again, another fight. You didn’t know but wanted to, it was strange you had no interest in any man other than ogling at the nice looking ones from time to time. But you never had any interest in them as persons.
As your eyes still lingered on his lips. You looked back into his eyes, to see he himself was fixated on your own lips. He began to lean in closer to you, and you began to lean in closer to him.
But he regained his control over himself, he bit his lower lip in restraint. Shutting his eyes, and swifting walking away. Leaving you in the hall.
꒰ ୨୧ ─ ・
You did not return to your room. No.
You went back to the fields. You felt as though you were proven right. No man would want you. You were a bastard and the subject of many jokes amongst the highborns. Why would he want you?
Your emotion took hold of you, regrettably. It was apparent as Silverwing began to crawl towards you, whining as she felt your pain. You loved your bond but hated that it would impact her in such a way.
So you embraced her, running your hand against her scales as you sang softly to her. “Drakari pykiros, Tīkummo jemiros, Yn lantyz bartossa, Saelot vāedis. Hen ñuhā elēnī: Perzyssy vestretis, Se gēlȳn irūdaks, Ānogrose, Perzyro udrȳssi, Ezīmptos laehossi, Hārossa, letagon, Aōt vāedan, Hae mērot gierūli: Se hāros bartossi, Prūmȳsa sōvīli, Gevī dāerī.” “Fire breather, Winged leader, But two heads, To a third sing. From my voice: The fires have spoken, And the price has been paid, With blood magic, With words of flame, With clear eyes, To bind the three, To you I sing, As one we gather, And with three heads, We shall fly as we were destined Beautifully, freely.” She purred and chirped at your song, calming her just as you knew it would.
You smiled as she calmed, and in turn you felt peace as well. Until-
A familiar voice beckoned out “Your song is quite nice, your voice is beautiful.” You turned around to see Ben. You felt some anger towards him. But refused to allow him to think that you would care.
You nodded, “Thank you.”
“What does it mean?” He asked gently, much more gently than he spoke to any other person that day.
You looked at him with curiosity, “It’s a song we sing to claim them. Though I find it calms her.” You looked away from him coldy, and returned to pet her.
He swallowed hard, unsure of how to approach you, “I apologize for being… cold earlier. It was beneath me and you’d not deserve such treatment.” He said cautiously, you could tell he wished to say more but did not. He stepped towards you, “What are you doing here?”
You looked at him once more, your spirits softening for some reason. Strange as apologies never seemed to work on you. You sighed, “Debating whether I should flee to Pentos now that the skies are clear, or marry the oldest man who vied today.”
“You said he was older than your grandsire.” He said, holding in a laugh at the memory of your insult.
You smirked at him, “Well hopefully they’d not live long enough to consummate the marriage.”
He bit his tongue as he smirked back at you, “You don’t talk like a Princess.” He shook his head.
You turned to face him as you stepped away from Silverwing, “Oh! You’ve met many?” You teased as you walked closer to him, “What are you doing here?”
His smile faded, and his eyes hardened, “Those cravens cannot speak to a princess-to you as he did. They were undeserving of your mercy.” He said angrily.
You smirked and walked closer towards him, “Rivermen are made of mud, stubborn.”
Davos sat down on the ground in a huff, “I should beat that Bracken cunt into the mud.” he said as he bit on his knuckles, still fuming.
You however still found it not only amusing but excites your body, “I dare you.” you said with a mischievous grin, holding back a giggle.
Davos looked at you with wild eyes, blood lust perhaps. It made a shiver run down your spine as he stood and began to march back to the fields. As he was gritting through his teeth, and storming up to the Brackens still on the field. You followed him giddy, practically skipping behind him.
As he marched over the tall hill, he could see the Bracken that had levied insult to your parentage earlier that night. He was stacking wood, and unluckily for him, alone.
“Oi!” Davos yelled as he and you approached the Bracken.
The fight was hardly fair. Not that Ben was larger or even stronger than the Bracken. But the way he fought was brutal and savage. The Bracken could not keep up with him. In the end the Bracken was a bloody, whimpering mess. And Ben was bloody, and dirtied from the mud.
As he got off the Bracken, he was panting from exhaustion, but once his eyes fell back onto you, his gaze softened.
It grew a heat in your body. As well as a guilt. You walked up to him in hast, your eyes clouded by lust. You grabbed his face into your hands and kissed him deeply. His hand found your jaw, attempting to pull you deeper into the kiss as if it were possible.
Afterwards, you and Ben practically dragged one another back to Raventree and more specifically back to your chambers.
You began to disrobe. Beginning with the cloak he’d given you earlier that day. “I think I might be a poor influence on you, My Lord.” You said as you threw the cloak onto the bed.
“Or I you.” He said as his eyes roamed your form lustfully.
You kicked your muddied shoes off, “Mayhaps both.” You began to untie the laces of your gown, “Still… Tonight was anything but dull.” You were left in your shift and small clothes. “Even when you are drunk, you fight very well.” You said as you crawled onto your bed.
Ben walked up to the end of your bed, looking down upon you with undignified thoughts, “Ah, well, those bracken swines couldn’t fight a babe.” He rasped, “I shouldn’t be swearing in front of a Lady, a princess no less.” He said as he cupped your cheek as you kneeled on the bed in front of him.
“I like it.” You said as you took his hand, looking at his bloodied knuckles, “Besides, I am hardly a lady.”
He shook his head with a soft smile, “No, you could be my Lady.” You looked up at him, somehow surprised by his words, “Your days would be easy and nights safe, not that you’d need it.” He rubbed your knuckles with his thumb.
Humility, was that what your mother spoke of? A man who could tell when his lady held her own?
“You did not vie for my hand today in the woods. But you do now, here in my chamber.” It was partially a jest, and partially not. You did not wish to be bedded and discarded. You did not want another jest to be made of you.
His eyes darkened again, “It is an insult to you. To have each man from their houses come to bid on your hand. As if you’re a mare to breed.” He shook his head in disgust.
You smiled softly at him, “You’re unlike other men.”
“In what way?” He asked earnestly.
“You’re not an imbecile who thinks himself entitled to me simply because you’ve a cock.” You said with a smirk, and he chuckled softly at your vulgar words.
He shook his head, “You owe me nothing. However I must ask of you one thing.” He said softly.
“What would that be?” You asked, looking up into his warm eyes.
He took your face into both of his hands, “All I ask is all of you, forever. Claim to your hand in marriage.”
You felt time slow, as if it stopped just for you both.
You’d ogled knights fighting in tourneys, or sparring in the yards. You’d met hundreds of Lords and can recall many you found comely. But none of them made you feel this way. None made your body weaken, and shake. None made your heart quicken. None made heat splash across your cheeks by their gaze alone.
You never thought you’d accept a marriage by a man you’d only met meer hours ago. But he didn’t feel that way. He felt as though he’d been yours a lifetime, and you his.
‘that must be the ale’ you thought. And even if it was, which it wasn’t, Out of all the men you’d seen today he would have been your pick.
You nodded, “You have it.”
You stood on your knees on the end of your bed. Wrapping your arms around his neck, pulling him into a gentle kiss. He sucked gently on your plush lower lip, sweetly and slowly. His hands grasped your hips tightly. Leaving dirtied and bloody hand prints on your shift.
“We shouldn’t, I am bloodied, dirty,” He said reluctantly.
You looked into his eyes, heavy with lust, “Then you should stop touching me with your eyes.” You smirked, and he smirked back at you, his eyes still running over your form, “Besides, I like it.” You said into his lips.
He kissed you passionately, and then bit your lip making you wet. You whimpered as you pulled away, slightly surprised by his boldness. “You are a bad influence, my lady.” He leaned his forehead against your own, and looked into your eyes deviously.
“Your lady?” You teased
“My Princess- my queen.” He said in a whisper as he rubbed his nose against yours.
“Call me my name,” You said with a smirk as your eyes stared at his lips.
“(Y/N)” He smiled as he stared at your lips as well. “My (Y/N),” He whispered into your lips. Kissing you again, passionately.
His hands gripped your plush sides, running them up and down your back, running them through your hair, and soon enough he let go of any restraint as he ran his hand down your front, between your breasts, over your stomach, and between your thighs. You let out a small gasp as you felt his fingers move over your clothed cunt.
“You ever had a man touch you like this?” He rasped into your lips, “It’s alright if ye have, I just want to know how careful I got to be.” He whispered.
You shook your head, “Only my own.” you whispered back.
“I’ll be careful,” He said as he placed his palm cupping your jaw, and his fingers tangled in your hair.
You shook your head again, this time with more conviction, “Don’t be.” You said slightly louder. His eyes stared into yours, as he slipped his hand into your small clothes. Slipping his fingers into your warmth. You moaned softly, and your face contorted to the pleasure. He relished in it. Watching you take the pleasure he was giving you. Loving your sounds more than he thought he ever could. “You feel like silk… Velvet…” He whispered into your lips, his mouth grazing over yours. It was as if he was breathing in each of your moans.
You grabbed a hold of a handful of his dark hair, Pressing his forehead into yours even more, “That feels… good.” You whined, “So good.” You said as he began to kiss your neck.
“You smell like dragon fire.” He said as he inhaled your scent, as if it were intoxicating. His fingers were still toying with your cunt.
He was doing such a good job, you turned your head to whisper into his ear, “You want to ride a dragon?” You asked mischievously with a smirk.
His face left your neck, looking into your eyes with devotion, “Only one.”
You bit your lip looking at him, You stifled a laugh. “Do the biting again, maybe I’ll let you.”
And so he did. He kissed you as if he were a starved man. Biting your lip as you commanded. His fingers motions quickened. He used two fingers to pump in and out of you while his thumb circled your clit.
He sloppily kissed you, from your lips, to the side of your mouth, to your jaw, and finally your neck. Breathing in your scent as he bit and sucked at the sensitive skin of your throat. The pleasure was so great, you felt yourself clenching around his fingers.
Your moans got louder, but he’d not have anyone other than him hearing them. Not let anyone know you, an unwed noble lady, were doing such an indecent act. So he pressed his mouth to yours, practically breathing in your moans to hide them.
You clenched around his fingers tightly as you came. You shook and shuttered as you held onto his shoulders for dear life.
He continued to pulse his fingers into you, helping you ride out your climax, until you were resting your head on his shoulder.  A whimpering and panting mess, like the Bracken.
As he pulled his fingers out of your sensitive cunt, he looked at his wet fingers, taking them into his mouth.
You looked at him with exhausted half lidded eyes, “Vulgar.” you said, as if it didn’t make your cunt hungry for more.
“Ah, but you don’t taste vulgar at all.” He said as he held you closer, “You taste sweet like wine.” You said nothing, just looked at him with confusion and a smirk, “You don’t believe me?” He asked as he pressed his lips against yours, and pushed his tongue into your mouth. You tasted yourself on his tongue, and he was right, you did taste sweet.
“Mphmm…” You moaned as your tongues dances together.
Your hand found the tenting bulge in his breeches, you palmed it excitedly, wanting more.
He begrudgingly took your wrist, “I cannot-” He said shutting his eyes, as if looking at you would cause him to break. “We may be drunk, I may be the hardest I’ve ever been, and you the most beautiful woman I've seen… But I cannot.” He said, attempting to convince himself.
“You do not want to?” You asked sweetly.
His eyes went wide at your question, and brows narrowed. “I want to, Gods know that I have wanted to sense I saw you ride that beast into the Riverlands. I thought that I would be able to, but I’ll not sully you without the Gods knowing I’m yours.” He spoke earnestly.
You held in a laugh, “I’d not take you for a pious man.”
You held your face in his hands, looking at you as if you were the most precious thing in the realm. “I’m not. But you're sacred to me, I don’t know why.” He shook his head.
You smiled softly, “Then take this,” You said as you pulled off your small damp small clothes, “something for you to worship.” You with a cheek grin.
He bit his tongue as he grinned at you. He grabbed hold of your small clothes, shoved them into his breeches for later.
He gave you a final kiss before leaving you for the night.
Finally, you found sleep.

The next morn you began to prepare for your flight back home.
As you put your leather riding gloves on, you looked out to see the members of House Blackwood coming to bid you farewell. Ben following behind, smiling at you.
Lord Blackwood approached you, “My Princess, I do not wish to pester you. However, have you considered perhaps a member of House Blackwood?” He began to ask once again.
You however now had an answer, and delivered it quickly. “The Blackwoods are an ancient house. Once ruled as kings of the Riverlands.” You smiled, “It’d be a great honor.”
Ser Lorent, who was reading his horse, could not believe his ears that you’d made such a decision so quickly.
Lord Blackwood was eliated and attempted to remain composed. “You honor us greatly, Princess.” He let out a breathe to calm himself, smiling widely, “Perhaps our eldest son Samwell-”
“Benjicot.” You interrupted. “If he is willing of course. We are the same age, I feel it will make an equal union.” You explained.
However he was not about to deny you, nor question your decision. As long as he’d the last name Blackwood that was all that mattered. “Very wise, my Princess. Fly safely, we shall see one another again.” He smiled and you smiled back with a nod.
As he left you, Benjicot approached you, as he did his uncle passed him. Patting him on the back excitedly which only annoyed and embarrassed him.
“Princess,” He bowed his head to you, keeping formalities in front of the knights of your mother. He held out a scroll of parchment.
You took the scroll, looking at the wax seal of the sigil of house Blackwood. “What is this?” You asked softly.
“A written proposal of marriage.” He said, holding in an eager smile. “Something to show to your mother. I wish for her to understand my intentions.” He said earnestly.
“I should return this to you before I leave.” You said as you handed him his cloak that he’d given you the day prior.
He shook his head, “Keep it.” He said, stepping closer to you. “You’ll have something of mine, and I something of yours.” He said in a hushed whisper. You smiled softly, and Silverwing purred.
You looked at her, petting her side gently, “She likes you, I think.”
“I should hope so.” He said, intimidated by the large beast. You smirked and giggled softly, “I shall write to you.” He said as you mounted Silverwing.
“I would like that.” You said looking down upon him, hooking yourself into your saddle. “Geros ilas, ēva nyke ūndegon ao arlī.” You said to him sweetly.
“What does that mean?” He asked,
You smirked down at him, “Perhaps one day I will teach you.”

"Is it such a sin to stand up for yourself?" you mutter as tears blur your vision. The way he reacted was visceral, instinctive even. "You never have to stand up for yourself ever again," says Daemon, reaching a hand to you, "come."

Thunder and lightning conversed in the halls as another Targaryen is born. Alicent had started her labors at the hour of the owl and a servant came to rouse you. Daemon, barely meeting a deep sleep since his return, nearly smothered the girl who had come to alert you of your sister's condition.
Helaena was born amidst a storm. It was rather poetic, thinks Daemon; the child inflicted the same weather over his heart.
You loved her dearly. You loved her as much as you loved your beloved Aegon. Alicent was grateful for your presence. You were more than a welcome reprise and a steadfast support during this time. Still, she was careful not to burden you with too much, as the image of you holding your own babes flash behind her eyes each time she sees you hold her hers.
It tears at Alicent to see you with Aegon, and now Helaena. As much as she knows being with them heals you, she can't help but worry it also chips away at you in equal fervor.
It goes without saying this worry is tenfold to Daemon. As greatly agitated he is with how frequent and prolonged your visits to your sister and her children were, he choked it down and allowed you your space, your sacred privacy. He could not bear to see you behold the babe anyway.
Helaena, to you, was as much as a storm, your eyes were nary dry when you held her. Daemon had watched you once, you examined her fingertips and ears, smelled her feet and cheeks, traced her nose and brows. You laughed only to cry. Once was enough.
Viserys, in all his gladness to see his third born, tried to comfort him, but the you-will-have-this-joy-soon was not a welcome sentiment, nor was it comforting.
He only had ill-thoughts.
The gods supplied you your lost children through your younger sibling.
Daemon did much to drown out his melancholy, and yet it seemed to follow him wherever he treads. Even now, his mount was just as ill as he, if not worse.
"How fares he?" Daemon asks, mostly himself as he walks towards the blood wyrm— he finds he could not lately call Caraxes that, as his scales were uncharacteristically blanch.
"Ñuha dārilaros," a dragon keeper walks over to him, "Caraxes ēza daor ipradārin." My prince, Caraxes has not eaten.
The prince frowns as he brushes his hands on his mount's face. Caraxes, at least, acknowledges Daemon's presence with a huff, but it does not ease his worry, "kostagon ao sylugon naejot mazverdagon zirȳla ipradagon arlī?" Can you try to make him eat again?
The dragon keeper nods, "hen rhinka." Of course.
Daemon watches as three live goats are offered up to Caraxes. They bleat in front of the beast's face, unaware of their doom, and yet it seems there was no doom, as the creature turns away in disinterest.
Daemon huffs and pats his mount's cheek, "ao qopsa run," he walks into Caraxes's direct line of sight, "gaomagon jaelā nyke naejot kisikagon ao nykēla?" He stares at the dragon, who seemingly grumbles. The prince draws Dark Sister. You difficult thing. Do you want me to feed you myself?
With swift strokes, Daemon slays one, two, and three goats, their blood sputters on the ground, pooling by his shoes; he cares little for it. He sheathes his sword and grunts as he lifts a severed head to his dragon's maw.
"Ipradagon," the prince commands. Eat.
Caraxes turns to his master, sniffing the air.
"Ipradagon, valītsos," Daemon speaks like a father to his petulant son. His sigh of relief and irritation is of the same fashion as he watches Caraxes stretches his tongue towards his arm. Eat, boy.
The sound of the goat skull crunching between dragon teeth is, in truth, disturbingly loud, but to Daemon, it was a noise most welcomed. He raises a brow as Caraxes lifts his head a little, parting his large jaws in a rather submissive manner.
Daemon is unable to withhold his eyeroll, but the quickly picks up the two other heads on the floor, "fussy thing."
The dragon keepers watch the prince and his ride, feeling relieved the creature is finally feeding, and of course, wholeheartedly enamoured by their dynamic.
After Caraxes swallowed the crisp goat heads, he opened his mouth again and made a soft screech at Daemon.
Daemon was not having it, "gaomagon nyke jurnegon hae aōha urnerys?" He places his hands on his hips, which only made Caraxes whine more. Do I look like your keeper?
He makes a face at the screech, especially because the exhale was laced with foul dragon breath. With a poing to the felled goats the dragon keepers move forward and pick up the bodies, ready to throw it into the dragon's mouth. Except, before they could get close, Caraxes screeches, causing Daemon to flinch and scold his mount for his loudness. The dragon keepers immediately heed the warning, and drop the goat body, stepping back.
Caraxes grits his teeth and huffs, nudging his rider with his snout.
Daemon topples and pushes his dragon back in annoyance. Regardless, he bends down with a huff and picks up the largish goat with a grunt. Caraxes gratefully feasts on his meal once he's fed it.
Daemon grumbles and repeatedly swats Caraxes on the neck, "iksā hen qogron." You are out of line.
Caraxes responds only by opening his mouth again.
"Bah," the prince makes a face, "ao iēdrosa emagon hubre isse aōha relgos!" You still have goat in your mouth!
The dragon remains still, mouth agape.
Daemon groans sharply and struggles to feed him the other two carcasses, but does manage it in the end, much to the satisfaction of his prissy dragon.
As true as he could say his vexation was, there was truer affection in Daemon as he watched his dragon eat. He was glad to be needed by Caraxes. In fact, it fed an emptiness in him that was left gaping by his wife.
He sighs.
His wife.
He strokes Caraxes's scaly cheek.
You would undoubtedly still be in Halaena's nursery, though you should really be having lunch. Daemon frowns as Caraxes leans into him. He sighs and wonders if he could ever merit such affections from you. He would feed you like Caraxes, if need be, without a single complaint.
Through all this vexation and affection, there remained a worry within Daemon that only blossomed when Caraxes rolled over after swallowing his meal. Part of him wishes that it was all a ploy, and the astute creature wanted only to receive more attention, but he knew if that was the case, the blood wyrm would act more volatile rather than torpid.
Daemon instructs that if anything happened or if Caraxes refuses to eat again, he be alerted immediately. With that, the prince bids his dragon goodbye and cleans the goats’ blood off himself.
The sun shines through the halls of the Keep, and yet he grows icier the closer he gets to Helaena's room.
"Uncle."
He slows when Laenor approaches. Daemon silently nods in regard.
The young prince asks him if he's off to see you then adds, "she is presently in the solar with the Queen and her children. I've just come from there."
"Ah," Daemon nods slowly, "I see."
"They are having biscuits," Laenor offers, "you ought to join them for a snack."
The prince clears his throat, not necessarily liking that he was being told what to do. Still, Daemon nods, "ēza ñuha ābrazȳrys ipradārin? Iksis ziry sȳrī?" Has my wife eaten? Is she well?
"Se sikagon hen dārilaros ēza maghatan zirȳla rōvēgrie kirimves se teptan zirȳla kustikāne, nyke pendagon," Laenor's face softens. The birth of the princess has brought her great joy and given her strength, I think.
"Yes, but..." Daemon shakes his head, "it is not so simple as joy and strength."
Laenor nods, "you should go to her."
"Does she want me?"
He huffs and shrugs, "I do not know, uncle."
Daemon nods, neither do I.
Still, as Laenor and he part, Daemon heads to the solar, wanting nothing more than to see you.
It is quiet in the solar, save for the sound of your voice. It's a wonder no one heard the creaking of the door as Daemon entered, but then again, he too would be so deeply engrossed in your singing if you ever humbled with a song.
He already knew Helaena would be in your arms with Aegon nearby, but he did not know a Cargyll would be by your side instead of your sister. The brazen knight was not only carrying the prince in his arms, as if he was his father, he gazed upon you with such apparent warmth, as if he was your husband.
"— so come rest ye all safe and sound," you sing, stroking Helaena's forehead gently.
Aegon sleepily sighs. His back was pressed against the Kingsguard's chest plate and was sat on his forearm like a chair. He reaches out to your cheek, "again."
"Again?" you chuckle at the boy, "but I've sung it mayhap one hundred times over, my love."
Aegon whines, "again."
You sigh and brush his cheek, "oh, my sweet darling."
The boy leans into your touch and makes your heart melt.
"I will sing if Ser Erryk sings with us."
Daemon grips the doorknob tightly.
Erryk makes a sound, "I will wake the poor princess with my voice, and you know it."
"Nonsense," you hum, "you've sung me to sleep more times than I can count."
Daemon gulps uncomfortably.
"Tis only true because you are weak with numbers."
You chuckle.
Daemon feels like he's being ground alive.
"Again!" Aegon whines rather loudly.
You and Erryk are quick to hush the boy.
As Aegon fusses, you're left with little choice but to give in to him, lest his sister begin to fuss with him. You softly begin to sing, rocking your darling niece in your arms as you did so, "the fishes swim in seas of blue-"
"And dragons breathe fire so red," Erryk harmonizes with you, "all the birds sing sweetly for you, so come rest ye darling wee head."
Your separate melodies blended incredibly together; the richness of your voice seemed to belong with the richness of his. It was fucking unbareable.
"The apples grow up the trees, and flowers rise up from the ground. All the stars shine brightly for you—"
You, Erryk, and Aegon turn to Daemon when he shuts the door with rather excessive force. Daemon clenches his jaw and tries to control the trembling of his hand, "īlen ivestretan aōha hāedar iksin kesīr." I was told your (younger) sister was here.
You face him, still rocking Halaena, "īles... ziry sepār geptot naejot emagon iā kōdrion." She was... she just left to have a bath.
"Mmm," Daemon makes a noise as he slowly walks over to you, "emagon ēdā iā kōdrion tubī?" Have you had a bath today?
You slowly nod, "kessa." Yes.
Daemon grips his hand and nods, "emagon ao ipradārin?" Have you eaten?
"Kessa, lēda ñuha hāedar." Yes, with my younger sister.
"Se aōha mīsior?" he says, eyes trained on you. And your guard?
You take a moment to respond, "... kessa."
Daemon sucks a sharp breath, turning to the said man, "you may go, Cargyll. I will stand as ward for my wife."
"And what of later?"
You turn to Erryk. Daemon grinds his teeth, "what of later?"
"I understand that you do constant visits to the pit, my prince. If you are urgently needed to go there, then princess will be forced to go with you and-"
"My business is my own," the prince bristles, "do not speak to me of my dragon or my wife, as if it is your business."
Aegon begins to wrangle out of Erryk's grasp. The knight promptly sets the boy down, "the only business I have as a knight is to safeguard your wife," he rises and nods, "your grace."
The way he says your wife irks him to no end. Daemon draws in a deep breath in the hope it would calm him down.
"Anne!" a small voice calls. Horse.
Daemon looks down and finds Aegon raising a small wooden figurine of a horse, repeating in High Valyrian, "anne!"
Aegon seems to be handing the toy to Daemon. Daemon feels ill. He mutters softly, "iā sȳz anne, valītsos." A fine horse, boy.
Aegon beams and reaches out to his uncle, as if he wanted to be carried by him. Daemon feels sourness rise to his throat as he bends down to pick the boy up. His stomach rolls when he smells him; he smells faintly like you. Aegon pushes the toy gracelessly to Daemon's face, hitting his nose unintentionally on the way, "fast."
Daemon pulls his head back, "kessa. Anni issi adere." He bounces him slightly, "adere, hmm?" Yes. Horses are fast. Fast, hmm?
"Adere," Aegon mutters softly.
Daemon nods, "sȳz." Good.
You watch your husband and nephew. Where Daemon once believed the boy to be his son and offered him warmth, he now offered him reluctant and half-hearted interactions.
You could not blame him, in fact, your heart hurt for him. You oft wondered how Aegon was to him, perhaps a casual but flesh-grating reminder of what you've both lost, or maybe a physical manifeststion of the Lord Hand's schemes. You don't talk of such things, and you don't think you ever will. Helaena's birth has only wedged you further apart.
"We should bring them back to their nursery," you speak, making Daemon turn to you, but you turn to Erryk. His heart feels like it was being sawed in half. You shift Helaena in your arms, "Daemon and I can go by ourselves."
Erryk lifts his chin reluctantly before nodding, "shall I tell my brother to continue with his shift?"
You turn to Daemon, raising your brows.
Daemon turns from you to Erryk, "I will manage."
Erryk clenches his jaw and nods, "as you command."
The walk to their nursery is filled with chatter, thanks to Aegon and his wooden horse. Daemon is amazed by how many words the child knew in both common tongue and High Valyrian. He evidently loved mixing both speeches together.
"And princess with zaldrīzes—" Aegon babbles as his toy horse runs across Daemon's chest. Dragon.
"What did the princess do?" asks Daemon, eyes on the boy.
"Sōvegon!" Fly!
You chuckle and Aegon makes a roaring sound.
Daemon pulls a dubious expression, "se dārilaros kostagon sōvegon?" The princess can fly?
Aegon nods, "DRACARYS!"
You laugh a little louder. Daemon's breath hitches at the sound, his violet eyes immediately landing on you. You reach a hand to Aegon, brushing his chin, "Caraxes really left a mark on him."
Daemon watches you pull away. He longs to be touched similarly, "his soul nearly left his tiny body. His fearful screams nearly rendered us all deaf."
You snort, raising a brow, "he was overwhelmed, as would anyone be the first time they meet a dragon."
"I was not."
You huff and turn to Helaena, "rijes aōt." Congratulations.
Daemon smirks softly.
As you drew near to the nursery, you find that Alicent was on her way back to the solar. You smile at her and she smiles back at you, though her expression slightly dampens at the sight of Daemon.
"Sister," Alicent greets you, reaching out for Helaena. You gently hand over her daughter and she sighs, kissing her forehead. She gives you a look, "will you join me as I breastfeed?"
You shake your head, "I..." you motion to Daemon, turning to him as well. You don't know what to say though.
Daemon finally puts Aegon down and the boy gratefully goes up to his nursemaid by the door to his room, showing her his wooden horse. Your husband speaks, "I would like to have my turn with her."
You rub your hands together.
Alicent turns to him only to turn back to you to smile softly, "yes... I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Yes, of course, my love," you rub Alicent's shoulder.
Daemon watches you pull away. He feels his own shoulder grow cold.
Alicent retreats into her children's nursery. You and Daemon walk off in silence.
It remains silent until you break it, "where to?"
Daemon turns to you, "hmm?"
"Where are we heading?"
He stares at you. He gulps at the sight of your skin, of the furrow of your brows, of the baby hairs framing your face. He knows that you smelled so good, that you were so warm, that you were so soft. What torment it was that he could not simply touch you.
Your brow raises, "Daemon?"
"Hmm?"
You stop in your tracks.
His heart stops. He begins to slightly panic, especially due to your expression.
"If you wish to visit Caraxes in the pit, I will not stop you."
He says nothing.
"It's just that if you must go there in haste, I will not be able to keep up," you rub your hands, "as Erryk menti-"
"Please," he raises a hand, "do not name him so cordially."
You press your lips together.
"Pray, do not mention him at all," he lowers his hand.
You raise your brows and slowly shrug, "as you wish..." you motion vaguely, "but are we to go to the pit?"
Daemon shakes his head, "if you wish it. I saw him just before coming to you."
You turn to your hands as you think, "is he quite unwell?"
He watches you fidget with your fingers.
"I do not know if my presence is welcome," you slowly look up at him, "perhaps I will make him more ill."
Daemon furrows his brows, "you would not."
"... what's more, perhaps I am the reason for his illness."
Daemon's brows tighten further. The sentiment gnaws at his rib. He tilts his head as he shakes it.
You watch him shuffle in his spot, and you realize rather quickly, he did not know whether or not to reach out for you. He doesn't.
He crosses his arms instead and huffs, "you believe your tiny being is the cause of illness for a creature a hundred times your size?"
"... one need only a few drops of poison to kill."
"You speak as though your blood is poison."
You look away, shrugging once more, "it might as well be."
"Yet it is not so," Daemon finds himself chuckling incredulously. The sound makes you turn back to him with a hardened expression; it softens his own. He gives into himself and takes your wrist, "I-"
The feeling of you flinching makes him tense.
He sighs and continues slowly, "I... highly doubt that if you were poisonous, your presence would cause people— Aegon, Helaena, Alicent... your damned wards, to bloom."
Daemon measures your reaction. He does so with such singlemindedness, he does not realize he was rubbing your pulse. It causes your skin to prick with gooseflesh.
"You've made even Laenor think so kindly of you," he slowly releases your hand, "why would he bother if you were so... perilous?"
He notices the way you rub the area he touched as though you had been burned. He tries not to take it to heart, but everything you do goes straight to it. You blink rapidly to avoid from tearing up, "pity."
"Pity?" Daemon repeats, jaw hardening at your rapidly increasing sorrow. He mutters softly, "you would paint the world so generously and believe so many souls sympathize with the sorrows of others than simply believe you are not poisonous?"
You chuckle dryly and turn away, rubbing your eyes, "I would-"
"You are lovely."
You turn back to him, wiping your face.
"I-" he starts, choking on his spit, "I love you."
Your lips wobble.
Daemon is winded when you reach for his cheek. A shiver runs down his spine as he immediately presses his hands atop yours. He leans into your touch, his eyes searching your own.
You frown and rub his chin, "apologies..." you sniffle, "I do not mean to cause you such misfortune."
Daemon stops your attempt to pull away, "a prince is nary misfortunate."
You pull away after a prolonged moment of staring.
You do not know why you both end up in dragon pit. You find it was a rather bad idea, as the sight of Caraxes sprawled on the floor like a soggy piece of parchment made your stomach curdle.
Daemon leads you towards him and Caraxes barely perks at the sight of you. He does huff though when Daemon presses your hand to his snout. You frown at him, "ñuha mijegindita valītsos." My poor boy.
Daemon turns to you and ponders if perhaps the gods made his mount this way so that he could have a reason to share such tender moments with you. The gods give as they take.
"Do the keepers know what is wrong with him?" you ask Daemon.
He merely shakes his head.
You sigh and rub Caraxes gently, "never mind it. I will keep you in my prayers."
All the prince wants to do in this moment is to embrace you, but all he does is wonder if he was in your prayers... and worry if you still prayed the same terrible one.

A/N: I’m back! I was so shocked by the love on my last fic, thank you so much! This one is really rushed and quick - the idea came to me because of a reel on instagram. Yeah.
Do not copy or repost my fics anywhere! No AI bots either, I will find you

Tommy’s put on Alice In Chains again for the fifth time Tonight.
Joel groans against you, but not like how he’s been groaning for the past 20 minutes. He’s irritated this time.
“Goddamnit. Someone oughta knock him over the head.” Joel mutters breathily, scowling at the back entrance to the bar like Tommy will sense his ire through the exposed brick and wood.
You take the time to admire his roused hair. Your head hits the outside wall of the Tipsy Bison with a soft thump, and your eyes are hazy and heavy from the sight of the man in front of you.
Joel Miller. Thee scary, grumpy, tense, asshole, tommy’s-goddamn-brother Joel Miller.
He’s a sight to behold. Flushed cheeks and, cutely, ears. Messy hair from your fingers and unbuttoned collars of typical flannel shirts.
All because you’ve been kissing him. Like teenagers, actually.
You’re not sure why you’re still standing outside the bar in the chilly air instead of being buried under his warm body screaming his name.
Well, that’s a lie. You do know.
It’s the sound he makes when his lips caress yours, the little sharp intake of air through his nose as he tilts his head to the side; nose poking your cheek. The way he groans as you bite his plump bottom lip when you dance your tongue back and forth with his.
The way he holds your waist like you’re all he’s ever wanted like he’s a man obsessed, possessed. Whatever you want to call it.
Your hands come up to rest just under his jaw, cupping behind his ear, and feel his hair tickling the tips of your fingers - guiding him back to look at you.
“Pearl Jam sounds the same sometimes,” you say to him, looking at his kiss swollen lips.
“You must be losin’ your hearin’, darlin’ girl.”
He looks drunk. Not just from Seth’s conspicuous beer, but from your kisses. His eyes are soft-blown wide, locking onto your eyes with a haziness that implies they actually want to flutter shut like they have been doing the moment your lips touch. His eyebrows are semi-lifted, not set in their usual, gravity-demanding scowl.
You run your thumb over his jaw, pulling him back to you so lightly it seems like magnetism. His brows furrow, eyes give in and flutter before he’s molding his lips against yours like it’s a drug. Groaning against your mouth as he rests his clenched fist on the wall just above your head. His other hand coming up to the soft skin underneath your jaw.
The sound of you kissing - the little smack and strangely erotic sound of salivating mouths moving together. His soft moans and heavy breaths pushing against your skin as a huff.
You don’t blame him, you feel drunk on this too.
The weight of your arms feels heavier when you lift them to wrap around Joel’s shoulders. Those damn, broad shoulders. You can feel the muscle of them along that soft inner part of your forearms, Can feel them shift and move as he leans in closer to wrap his arms around your waist and leave no atoms between you, his lips against yours like a lifeline - like it kills him every second they’re not.
He fucking moans when you grip the awkward-length hair on his nape.
You’re broken out of the haze by your screaming lungs, pulling away with a wet smack as you pant. Your fluttery eyes - damn it’s contagious - see your breath move through the cold air. The image of how your make-out must’ve looked from the third person, big bad Joel Miller kiss-drunk and desperate - your panting breaths mingling in the air around your faces as you two make kissing seem like something that is as erotic as straight sex outside of the Jackson bar.
You feel the arousal zing through your body before it drips out of you.
His scruff nuzzles against your neck, leaving the same burn you feel around your lips and cheeks. Everything is tingly.
“Joel, someone is going to come out here,” you whisper into the chill. Those lips of his don’t stop their sloppy caress of your neck, making you turn in his direction and try to contain a little noise you know will make him reckless.
He whines - whines - against your neck, not stopping his ministrations, only pulling back to kiss you again, eat you like it’s what he’s been waiting for his whole life.
“Then come back to my place“ he murmurs, but he’s lost in the haze. Almost as if he’s finally reached that hazy high from your mouth that he keeps coming back for.
You melt into him again, pulling him closer until you can feel the rapid rise and fall of his chest against yours. He’s practically a wall you’re holding onto. Breathing in and molding your mouth around.
There’s a loud squeak and a bang as the bar door opens and knocks against the wall, your hands are still around Joel’s neck as you both look over in surprise. Moments later Tommy’s thrown out right on his ass, which makes Joel laugh immediately.
Tommy looks over with a scowl before looking back to his friends who threw him out.
“C’mon guys!” he huffs, still on the ground
“You’re banned from the jukebox.” Seth grumbles before slamming the door right in Tommy’s face.
It looks like Tommy might go rogue, start a revolution against dictatorship of jukeboxes, but ultimately decides to take his comical frustration out on Joel.
Tommy turns to look at the both of you. Joel is still chuckling slightly, wiping the corner of his eye, still standing right up against you.
“Shut up. You’re busy suckin’ face when I needed backup.” Tommy huffs, wiping stones and dirt off his ass, grumbling to himself, glaring at the door - similarly to his brother - like he could take control of the jukebox with his mind and play Alice In Chains again like a poltergeist.
“Priorities, brother.”
Tommy lovingly gives Joel the finger, before grumbling and walking home, a hand on his probably bruised backside.

I Don't Need A Gentleman
pairing: edward cullen x gender neutral reader tags: edward is old fashioned and kinda a prude, the reader is not, reader doesn't want vanilla sex anymore, alice and rosalie are cool sister in laws
You lounge on the massive, cream-colored couch in the Cullens’ living room, scrolling absentmindedly through your phone as Alice and Rosalie flip through a stack of fashion magazines. It’s one of those rare, lazy evenings—no imminent threats, no pressing vampire drama—just the family scattered around the house doing their own thing. Alice bumps your foot with hers. “You’re weirdly quiet today. Seriously, what’s up?”
You look up, tapping the phone against your knee. “It’s kind of about Edward.”
Rosalie arches a perfectly groomed brow. “What did our golden boy do now?”
Your cheeks—if they still could—might blush. “He didn’t really do anything wrong, exactly. It’s just…” You pause, gathering your thoughts. Even though you’ve been married to Edward for a while, it can still be tough to put some things into words. “He’s super considerate, and I adore that about him. But sometimes—okay, a lot of times—I just wish he’d show a little more…passion? Fire?”
Alice makes a sympathetic face, setting her magazine aside. “He can be a bit old-school, yeah. He has that ‘eternally seventeen’ gentleman thing down to a T.”
“Tell me about it,” you huff. “I’m a vampire, too! I mean, I’m not exactly made of glass. But he keeps treating me like I’m this delicate flower that might crumble if the wind blows too hard. I swear, sometimes our kisses feel like little pecks—like he’s worried I’ll spontaneously combust if he lingers longer than three seconds.”
Rosalie leans back, crossing her arms. “Look, Edward’s always been overly cautious. It’s one of his most annoying…okay, fine, endearing qualities. But you can’t blame him for wanting to protect you. He’s basically built that way.”
You sit up straighter, pushing your hair out of your face. “Totally. I get it. I love how he’s protective, and, well, a total gentleman. But I need more of that oomph. Y’know, that feeling where you just can’t keep your hands off each other.”
Alice snorts a laugh. “I never thought I’d hear you say ‘oomph.’ You should definitely say that to Edward’s face. He’d probably blush so hard, if vampires could blush.”
“Yeah, yeah,” you say, rolling your eyes playfully. “But how do I bring it up without hurting his feelings? He’s so sensitive. The moment he thinks he’s made me even slightly uncomfortable, he clams up.”
Rosalie sets the magazine aside with a little thump. “You’re married. He can handle the conversation. Trust me, you should be honest about it. Being in love for, what, decades? That means talking about the hard stuff, or the passionate stuff.” She smirks at that last part.
Alice nods enthusiastically, tucking her legs up beneath her. “The best way is just to be straightforward. Tell him how you feel without making it sound like he’s doing something wrong. Emphasize that you love his old-fashioned side—it’s part of why you married him, right? But also make it crystal clear that you want him to dial up the heat. You’re a vampire, for crying out loud, not some breakable human.”
You exhale, feeling a sense of relief wash over you. “You guys are right. I’m probably overthinking it. I’m worried he’ll take it the wrong way, but I can’t just keep ignoring how frustrated I am.”
“Exactly.” Alice taps your knee again. “He’ll listen, especially if you remind him that you still love all the things that make him Edward. He just needs to hear that you want him to trust your strength, too.”
Rosalie stands, stretching with the fluidity of a cat. “And if that doesn’t work, just throw him up against a wall somewhere. That’ll get the point across.”
Alice gasps in mock horror. “Rosalie Hale! That’s your brother you’re talking about.”
She smirks. “Hey, I’m just saying, sometimes subtlety isn’t the answer.”
You laugh, shaking your head. “Let me try talking first before I start tossing him around.”
Alice and Rosalie share amused glances as you stand, giving a quick wave. “Thanks for the advice, seriously.”
“Anytime,” Alice sings out.
“Go get ’em,” Rosalie adds, winking.
You head up the stairs to find Edward, heart fluttering in that familiar way only he can cause, despite both of you being, well, undead. He’s in his usual spot in the family’s library, flipping through a thick novel—something old and fancy, undoubtedly. The moment he senses you, he glances up with a small smile, eyes full of that unwavering devotion.
“Hey,” you say, crossing the room until you’re close enough to rest a hand on his shoulder. “Got a minute to talk?”
“Of course,” Edward responds softly, setting the book aside. He tilts his head, concern flickering in those golden eyes. “Is everything all right?”
“It is,” you reassure him, settling in beside him on the velvet couch. You can still hear Alice’s and Rosalie’s voices drifting faintly from downstairs, but you focus on Edward. “I just wanted to share something that’s been on my mind, and it’s really important to me.”
He nods earnestly. “You know you can tell me anything.”
Taking a breath, you gently place your hand over his. “So, we’ve been together for a long time. We’re married, and I’m a vampire—just like you, right? But sometimes I feel like you’re handling me with kid gloves. I love your gentlemanly side, and I’d never want you to completely lose that. But I want us to be able to express our love passionately, without you worrying so much that I’ll break.”
Edward’s gaze drops to your entwined hands. “I—I see,” he says quietly. “I never meant to make you feel like you weren’t my equal. It’s just…I can’t shake the habit of worrying you might be hurt or regret something if I let go too much. Even though you’re stronger than any human I once knew, it’s hard to override decades of caution.”
Leaning in, you brush a gentle kiss against his cheek. “I know. And I respect how deeply you care. But hey, my strength is legit.” You grin, flexing half-jokingly. “I promise, I can handle more. And if something’s too much, I’ll tell you.”
Edward’s lips curve into a small smile. “Thank you for being honest with me. I guess I needed a reminder that I’m not the only one in this relationship who has a say—especially when it comes to showing affection.”
Your heart (metaphorically) flutters at the genuine warmth in his voice. “Exactly. I love being with you, and I don’t want you to hold back. We can figure out the balance, you know, do the old-fashioned courting stuff, but also, I don’t know…maybe occasionally break the furniture?”
His eyes widen for half a second in surprise, then he laughs, the sound soft and musical. “I’ll keep that in mind,” he teases, sliding a hand around your waist to pull you closer. This time, when you tilt your head up for a kiss, you feel him lean in just a bit more—a tiny, tangible shift. His lips linger, his cool hand splaying across your back. The moment stretches on until you both draw away, contented smiles on your faces.
“That,” you whisper, thumb brushing against his jaw, “was exactly what I’ve been missing.”
Edward’s eyes shine with affection. “Then I’ll make sure you never miss it again.”
Downstairs, you can practically hear Alice’s “Yes!” whispered under her breath, and you know Rosalie is grinning in that smug way that says, “Told you so.” It makes you laugh softly. But that’s the beauty of this big, unconventional vampire family.
Edward gently presses his forehead against yours. Neither of you needs to breathe, but the moment feels like a breath of fresh air anyway. Old-fashioned or not, he’s all yours—and he’s finally letting you show him that you’re every bit the strong partner he deserves. And judging by the heat in his eyes, this is just the beginning.

Halloween Horror Nights.
The night where you allow yourself to be chased by fake chainsaws, scared out of your skin, explore haunted houses, and enjoy food.
Y/n however, went for a whole different reason.
It was no secret to the people who knew her that she was a horror fanatic. She watched all the scary movies, often fawning over the masked murders—Billy Loomis and Stu Macher, to be exact. She'd immerse herself, sitting in the dark with a bowl of popcorn on her lap. She'd even take it a step further and leave her front door unlocked, hoping one of her masked lovers would stroll right in.
So here she was, dressed as Alice from 'Alice in Wonderland', wandering around the big amusement park with a certain spark in her eye.
She was having the time of her life - the haunt actors getting in her face and screaming only to be met with a wide smile. They had run up to her multiple times, waving their fake knives, bats, and chainsaws in her face, hoping to scare her. However, she never screamed, she laughed and clenched her thighs, her wetness pooling in the center of her bright blue panties.
She had just finished walking through one of the haunted houses, smiling to herself as she heard the screams of the other house attendees. As she walks out through the exit, the smell of kettle corn and funnel cake hits her immediately.
Her stomach grumbles softly, and she decides it's time for her to eat. As she begins to walk towards the food area, she stops hearing the loudest screams of the night. Just as she turns around, she sees a group of teen girls running from a Haunt actor.
He was tall and lanky, dressed in black suspenders and a white button-up adorned by a tie. His face was covered in white face paint, black triangles painted over his eyes, the black paint also covering his lips - He looked like some rendition of the crow. His hair was slicked back as well, a singular curl falling in his face.
He was beautiful, nothing about him was scary - She was attracted.
Suddenly, his head turns, his eyes landing on her.
She maintains eye contact, not backing down from the impromptu staring contest. She watches as a smirk makes its way across his face, his tongue gliding over his teeth swiftly. She found herself imagining him biting her, his tongue gliding over the indentation on her skin soon after.
She's knocked out of her daydream and staring contest by a few kids bumping into her, running away from what looks like their parents. She huffs and goes to look back at the painted face, only to see he's gone. She was disappointed, hoping maybe, just maybe, he would approach her. She continued on with her task, getting in line to get food before she went on with her night. However, she couldn't shake the feeling of someone watching her.
Throughout the night, she would catch brief glimpses of him, their eyes connecting before he disappeared once more. It seemed like every corner she turned, he was there watching her, stalking her, getting closer and closer each and every single time - She loved it. She dreamed of having her own personal killer dote upon her, and even though he wasn't a real killer, she would settle for it.
Eventually, she had gotten bored of the horror night, having been in the majority of the haunted houses and seeing all of the Haunt actors. She was ready to leave, but before she left, she decided to take a picture.
She holds the phone up, fixing her hair and getting ready to smile when suddenly, the haunt actor who has been watching her this whole night, appears behind her.
He's quick to yank her closer, using her hair as an anchor to pull her back into his chest - his fake knife pressing against her throat.
She freezes, completely caught off guard by his sudden appearance, her thumb hovering over the button to capture the pictures. She feels the ridges of the blade pressing against her throat, the coldness of the metal - She doesn't question it, the only thing her mind can focus on is his warm breath fanning over her ear.
She can't help the excitement building in her core, her wetness forming at an accelerated pace. She clenches her thighs, the nameless haunt actor chuckling darkly by her indiscreet actions.
"Are you scared?" He whispers in her ear, sniffing her neck in the process. She already looked appetizing, but she smelled mouthwatering. The subtle scent of cherries wafting through his nose and making his eyes flutter shut in ecstasy.
"No-"
She wasn't lying, she wasn't scared, she had that anxious excitement building in her stomach. She knew something was going to happen tonight, and she was ready for it.
"Then go on doll, take the picture," he whispers in her ear, a slight chill running up her spine due to his raspy voice. She does as told and takes a picture, a few pictures actually.
"You've been watching me tonight." She says softly as she puts her phone down, the knife still pressed against her throat. He hums in acknowledgment, still holding onto her hair tightly. "And you did nothing to stop it." He removes the knife and turns her around, wrapping a strong hand around her throat, tilting his head to the side as he notices the chaotic gleam in her eye.
He smirks when he recognizes it, "but you liked it, didn't you? You liked the idea of a killer stalking you, hunting you down like prey?" He stares deep into her soul, his eyes never leaving hers. He trails the knife along the front of her costume, stopping right at her heart, never breaking eye contact.
"I love it actually."
His grip on her jaw tightens, his eyes darkening in a sadistic way. He allows his thumb to press against her bottom lip, slowly prodding into her mouth. Her plump and glossed lips wrapped around it, her tongue swirling against it as she kept her eyes locked on his.
He pulls his thumb out of her mouth, his whole body rushing with adrenaline.
His night is taking a turn, the original plan between him and Chris now being tweaked, all because of her. He wasn't mad about it at all, Chris might be, but he would deal with that later.
After all, Chris couldn't stay mad at a girl dressed all pretty for him.
"What's your name?"
"Y/n...What's yours?"
He ignores her question and turns her around, using his knife to point at a specific haunted house she hasn't been in yet.
"Go-" she furrows her brows, not understanding why he would tell her to go into the attraction. Before she could question him, he was gone, leaving nothing but directions and a raging ache between her legs.
She huffs in annoyance, mainly due to his disappearing act but also due to the wetness in between her thighs.
Fixing the hem of her dress, she heads over to the haunted attraction standing in the long line with other people.
Shockingly, it wasn't long before she was next to enter the attraction, showing her ID to security. It was then that she realized this was the scariest haunted house - You have to be 21 to enter due to the extremities.
It was interactive, the actors being able to touch you and terrorize you for however long until you find the exit.
She's soon let in, her legs moving slowly as she takes in the inside of the horror house. It was dark at first, no light in the small entranceway. All she could hear were the screams from the group in front of her and the mechanics of the attraction.
Eventually, she makes it to a long, dimly lit hallway. The lights were flickering and she couldn't tell if it was rigged that way or if they were truly flickering.
She turns the corner and stops - a masked person was hunched over a body, their arm coming down vigorously and violently, blood splatter landing on their white shirt. She assumed it was part of the attraction, not really thinking about it- until she recognized the body on the ground.
It was a girl from earlier, the same girl who ran up to her and complimented her costume.
Everything looked so real - the blood, the knife, even the lifeless look in the girl's eyes as she lay on the floor. Y/n didn’t realize the girl was part of the haunt crew, she wasn’t dressed up in a scary costume - but what does she know?
She hummed to herself and kept walking, not noticing the way the masked actor halted his actions and watched her, tilting their head in wonder as she proceeds without a care in the world.
She walks deeper into the house, laughing in the actors' faces as they attempt to scare her. She even laughed when a girl ran up to her, covered in blood, screaming and crying for her help.
She didn't take her seriously, why would she? It was a haunted house, these are actors.
"Please! Help me out of here, he's going to kill me!"
The emotion in her voice was so raw, it had a true tone of panic
It was so real.
"You actors get better and better every year," Y/n says as she examines the girl's costume. "Costume?! T-this isn't a costume! H-he tried to ki-" The girl stops, her eyes widening in fear as she begins to back away. Y/n rolls her eyes, "Oh, let me guess. There's someone beh-" She stops feeling something looming over her, the energy in the room turning dark as goosebumps rise along her arms.
She turns around, coming face to face with the same painted-faced individual along with the masked figure from before. She looks them up and down, both of them covered in blood. The one in the mask was drenched, the black color of his pants looking even darker with the red liquid seeping into it. He was breathing harshly, his ragged breathing echoing from behind the mask.
The masked figure grabs her, snatching her by her throat and raising his knife. Just as he goes to land his lethal blow, he's stopped by the one covered in face paint.
"She's mine, Let her go."
His voice is stern, leaving no room for debate, but the one in the mask doesn't listen. His grip tightens around her throat, the blue eyes peering down at her hardening. She knew now that this was, in fact, a life or death situation, and she couldn't help but shift slightly, her legs pressing together as she attempted to relieve the ache between her legs.
The one with the painted face smirks, walking behind the masked figure and whispering in his ear. She watches as the blue eyes behind the mask soften, his grip loosening.
He almost looked vulnerable, like he was scared of her.
"She's getting away Chris-" The moment of vulnerability is whisked away, the masked figure now known as Chris whipping his head toward the battered girl rushing off through one of the hallways.
"Go handle her, then come find me."
Chris shoves Y/n into the arms of the painted-face killer, darting down the hallway with a deranged objective. Not even a second later, she's shoved into the wall, her back hitting the plank wood harshly, her purse falling out of her hands. He presses his body against her, inhaling that cherry perfume he finds himself becoming addicted to.
"Are you going to kill me?" She asks, her heart beating wildly. He chuckles and pulls away from her neck, his eyes connecting with hers.
"Kill you? Don't tell me you're scared Dollface."
She shakes her head softly, "I'm not scared, the opposite actually." He hums and looks over her face, trying to see if she is lying. Suddenly, he pushes her off the wall, watching as she stumbles from the unsuspecting push. He uses the tip of his knife to lift her chin,
"You should be."
Her brows furrow, not understanding why she should be scared of him.
"Why should I be? "
"Because you're mine now Doll. Get to runnin'."
Her brows furrow even more, her confusion evident.
"Wha- RUN!"
She can't help but jump at the volume of his voice, her feet moving before she can even register. She takes off running, the beat of her heart ringing in her ears as she looks for a place to hide. He waits a minute or two before stalking down the hallways, whistling as he searches for her.
She finds herself hiding in one of the rooms of the haunted house, shoving herself under the bed, thankful that the prop had a long enough bed skirt. He walked down the hallway she had just run down, stopping in his tracks when he noticed an open door.
He knew this haunted house like the back of his hand - that door was never opened. He walks into the bedroom, letting his knife trail against the wall, an eerie screeching sound being heard.
"I know you're in here Doll-" He smells the air, the strain in his pants growing. "I can smell you, that sweet, sultry cherry perfume-"
She covered her mouth, hoping he wouldn't hear her breathing.
"I can smell the wetness forming between your legs, it's just as sweet as that perfume-" He looks down and notices a bit of her shoe peeking out from under the bed.
He purposely drops the knife, her heart skipping a beat when she hears it collide with the ground.
"- And you know what else I can smell?"
He bends down, reaching for the knife,
"Fear!"
He reaches under the bed and firmly grasps her calve, yanking her from under the bed. She screams loudly as she is dragged from under the bed, her body soon being thrown on top of it. He holds her hands down above her head, using his own body to hold her legs down.
"I thought you weren't scared Dollface?" He taunts, watching as she struggles to get away from him. He grabs the knife and trails it along her thigh, watching as all her movements stop.
The blade trails higher up her thigh, stopping at the hem of the dress from her costume. " You were scared and yet... You found it exciting, thrilling even." He flips her dress up, exposing her saturated panties.
He smiles at the sight, tightening his grip on the handle of the knife, "Look at that, all wet and I haven't even done anything besides scare you. But you know what they say-" He trails the tip of the knife over her clothed core before sliding it under the band.
"Fear is the best foreplay."
The blade swiftly cuts at the band of her underwear, the material falling flat against her body before he yanks it off, throwing it to the side along with the knife.
"Say it, say you like being scared." He urges, his hand getting closer and closer to her core.
"I-I like being scared...I like being hunted by you like a pray, knowing you're lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce and take me." His eyes darken at her words, his pupils dilating.
Instead of fingering her like she assumed he would do, he slaps her folds, a yelp of shock falling from her mouth only to be silenced by his lips. Their lips mesh together feverishly, the black and white paint staining her face as he continues his assault on her folds. He pulls away, watching the fat and salty tears roll down her face. He groans lowly, his cock twitching at the sight of her tears. He stops his heinous ministrations and finally looks down at her cunt - He spreads her puffy folds and watches her hole clench around nothing, begging to be filled and stretched out. His eyes dart toward her clit, watching the puffy mound pulsate under his gaze.
His mouth waters, the urge to be suffocated by her plump and plush thighs as he tastes her sweet, delectable juices strong - He'll save that for another time.
She gasps as she's flipped onto her stomach, his hands harshly gripping her waist and hiking her up, surely leaving bruises in the process. He trails his hand over the soft flesh of her ass before allowing his fingers to dip into her cunt. A whimper escapes her mouth as her eyes flutter shut, that pit in her stomach already forming and ready to burst.
The lewd squelching mixed with the screams of terror throughout the haunted house is like music to his ears - He couldn't wait any longer.
He rips his fingers away from her cunt, ignoring her pathetic cries of greediness as he quickly unbuckled his pants. He wastes no time lining himself up with her dripping cunt, slamming into her harshly.
Her back arches upward like a hissing cat, her finger clenching at the sheets as a strangled moan echoes throughout the propped bedroom. He slams her back down into the bed, her joints cracking in the process.
He fit inside her perfectly, her walls taking in his length with a warm and wet welcome.
He's relentless with his actions, his nails digging into the handles of her hips as he forces her to meet his thrusts. She feels as if she can't breathe, her mouth open and eyes rolled back as she gasps for air. Her brain is scrambled, every thought she had now jumbled and incoherent. The only thing she can think about is the immense pleasure she's feeling, all because of this nameless killer.
She fails to notice the multiple goers of the haunted house walking past the open door, watching with wide eyes as they assume the two were just actors acting- Just as she had done.
She also fails to notice the pair of eyes hidden behind a mask watching from the closet, his gaze stuck on her scrunched face.
"Fuck- Look at you, taking a killer's dick like a whore." She moans loudly in response to his degrading words, her whole body shaking with euphoria. Her slick was trailing down her inner thigh, coating his dick and glistening under the yellow lights.
He props his foot on the bed, allowing him to reach even deeper. He hits that spot hidden deep in between her gummy walls - That "Final Girl" scream tumbling from her lips.
Her body lurches forward, attempting to escape his brutal assault on her body.
He growls and grabs a handful of her hair, shoving her face into the mattress. "Stop fucking running and take it! You wanted this, you wanted to be fucked by a killer!"
He feels her walls fluttering around him, sucking him in deeper despite her attempts to get away. He can tell she's close, her muffled sobs and wails only getting louder with each and every thrust.
His own orgasm was approaching quickly, but he refused to cum without seeing her face - Much like when he goes in for the kill.
He had to see his victims' faces, the light leaving their eyes doing nothing but bringing him closer and closer to the edge.
He pulls out of her aching cunt and flips her over, giving her no time to adjust before he slips right back in, resuming his relentless pace.
Her arms lay limp by her head, her whole body weak as she takes everything he gives her.
He wraps a single hand around her throat, using his other hand to swirl figure 8's against her clit. Her whole body begins to shake, choked gasps and broken pleas filling the air.
"P-Ple-" He tightens his grip against her throat, her hands flying towards his wrist and clawing at it.
"Go on Doll- Shit- Let go."
Her body thrashes around violently, a horrific scream echoing throughout the haunted house, the guests flinching as they rush through with their friends.
He lets go himself, groaning loudly as he paints her walls, claiming her as his.
He heaves as he pulls out of her, a small 'pop' being heard. He tucks himself back in his pants, sniffling softly as he watches her tremble on the bed.
He gives her a few seconds before he grabs his gloves and knife, "I suggest you make your way out, doll. Don't want you to get caught in the crossfire." She continues to lay on the bed, struggling to even sit up or listen to what he's saying.
He chuckles at her fucked out expression and crawls over her, grasping her jaw gently. Her eyes are glossed over, blown out as she looks up at him.
"Look at you, fucked out and dumb." He grabs her arms and pulls her up, holding her close as her knees buckle. He smirks as he looks down at her, enjoying how spent she looks.
"You're so pretty like this," he caresses her face gently, wiping a mascara streak off her face before pushing her harshly towards the door.
She stumbles, leaning against the wall for support. "Go on Doll, I'll see you soon," She says nothing as she stumbles out of the faux bedroom, a mix of his cum and her juices trailing down her leg.
She doesn't even remember making it out of the haunted house, nor does she remember making it home. All she knows is that she woke up still dressed in her costume, traces of dirt and blood in the satin material.
She went about her day, quietly getting herself together and trying to come to terms with what happened the previous night. She thought it was all a dream, there was no way that actually happened...Right?
With a huff she walks into her living room and collapses onto the couch, her body still feeling sore from the night she was still trying to understand. She sits in the dark, aimlessly flipping through channels on the TV before the news catches her attention.
"- Here, reporting live from the grounds of Halloween horror nights in Los Angeles, California. It has been reported that as the team was cleaning up after their week of festivities to celebrate Halloween, they found more than ten bodies in the main attraction. I've heard from some of the workers that they have counted up to twenty bodies scattered through the biggest haunted house -still counting. They don't have any suspects so far, nor do they have any camera footage."
She fucked a serial killer.
She knows it's horrible, clenching her thighs as that ache returns between her legs. People actually died, and here she was, thinking about the way his rough hands felt on her body, ravishing her.
She shudders softly at the memory, blinking profusely before switching the channel. She turns on an old rerun of some random show, watching it for a short period of time, when suddenly the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. She gets this odd feeling, almost unsettling but comforting at the same time.
It's almost like she's being watched
Her eyes dart around the living room, addressing the space as she tries to figure out the source of this feeling. She comes up empty-handed, but her eyes land on her front door.
She stares at the white door, her eye drifting down towards the unlocked knob, hoping that someone would walk through.

Matt watches as the girl stumbles out of the room, his eyes full of never-ending hunger. He knew after this, she was his. There was no way he was letting her go so easily.
His attention was soon drawn to a small shuffling sound coming from the closet. He smirks and walks over, his footsteps sounding like thunder due to his boots. He opens the closet doors and comes face to face with Chris, his mask still covering his face as he looks down shyly.
Matt says nothing as he looks him up and down, his eyes noticing a small wet spot near the younger boy's crotch. Matt smirks, his voice now taunting,
"You liked watching? You always did."
Chris whimpers softly, craning his neck downward in submission toward his older brother.
Matt chuckles and goes to poke fun at him, but stops when Chris slowly holds up the purse. It was tan and woven to look like a basket, the details intricate.
"What is that?''
Chris haphazardly goes through the small basket-like purse, rummaging for a few seconds before pulling out a wallet. He drops the purse and opens up the wallet, pulling out an ID, and holds it out to Matt. Matt eyes the plastic before snatching it out of his hand and looking down at it.
It was her ID.
He looks back at Chris who is already looking at him with hopeful eyes. Matt harshly pats him on the back, his way of showing thanks and affection.
"Good job...Lets finish up here, and then we'll talk about you having your turn with Dollface."

Note
do you think you could write about a white rabbit reader like how did with wild cat? as in the white rabbit from alice in wonderland— who’s more of a polite anxious mess trying to follow the queens strict rules but is kind of bad at it. possibly shy or on the quieter side like a rabbit beastman would probably be, considering most of the beastmens personalities align with their animal counterparts behavior. and for some reason most of the beastmen we see, or even the merpeople, are all predator animals so i would love to see their interactions with a prey animal. for the first time ever, leona would actually be scientifically correct in calling the reader an herbivore. they would also be the only beastman who’s not sorted into savanaclaw i imagine. in canonical alice in wonderland, or at least a majority of its interpretations, the white rabbit is considered a neutral, somewhat villain leaning character. he works for the queen but he’s never outright evil, if anything he’s kind of a coward as he is initially terrified of alice. so i can see reader being mostly benevolent and a little bit of a scaredy cat who’s still relatively friendly. thank you
White Rabbit! Reader x Everyone
Thank you for the request <3 I hope you like it
Character: All NRC + Staff + Rollo, Neige
Tumblr media
Riddle Rosehearts:
You’re always on edge around Riddle, frantically trying to follow the Queen's rules and his. But you trip over your own feet so often that Riddle ends up scolding you almost every day.
"Rule 76: No running in the halls!" Riddle huffs as you scramble past him, dropping a handful of papers as you trip over your own shoes.
You fumble around, trying to gather the papers while stammering an apology, eyes wide and twitching like a startled rabbit. “S-sorry! I didn’t mean to—oh no! Rule 17: Never drop important documents...”
Riddle looks ready to blow up, but when you shoot him those big, panicked eyes, he exhales sharply through his nose, the lecture stuck in his throat. "Just… get it together!" he mutters, turning on his heel, clearly flustered. “How am I supposed to enforce rules when you look like you're going to faint every time I open my mouth?!”
In the back of your mind, you wonder if he’d be so strict if he knew you were working for the "Queen." But you don't have the nerve to tell him that, so you just nod and awkwardly salute.
Trey Clover:
You never quite relax around Trey, even though he's the calmest person in Heartslabyul. Every time you’re near him, you’re just waiting for the moment when he’ll ask you to do something scary, like taste one of his experimental dishes or—worse—eat cake in front of Riddle. The idea makes your ears droop.
"Hey, you okay?" Trey asks when he notices you standing stiffly by the kitchen door. He’s got flour on his apron and a knife in hand, chopping fruit with easy precision.
You jump at the sound of his voice and nearly knock over a stack of plates. "I-I’m fine!" you squeak, standing even straighter like you’re in the Queen’s court.
Trey chuckles softly. "You know, I’m not going to bite. Unless I’m making rabbit stew." He winks.
Your eyes widen in horror, ears trembling. "R-rabbit stew?!"
He laughs, holding up his hands. "I'm kidding! Kidding!" Trey seems to find your reactions endlessly amusing, always leaning in with a gentle smile. "But if you need help relaxing, just say the word. Maybe we can make some tea. No pressure."
But all you hear is "pressure," and you feel like you're about to combust.
Cater Diamond:
Cater thinks you're the cutest thing on two legs, especially when you're in a flustered state. Which, unfortunately for you, is almost all the time.
“Yo, lil’ bunny!” Cater calls out as he sidles up to you in the hall, phone in hand. You’re mid-panic about how you’re going to explain to Riddle why your shoes are untied, your tie is crooked, and you accidentally skipped breakfast because you were too nervous to eat.
You freeze, giving Cater a look like a deer in headlights—or rather, a rabbit in a snare. “D-don’t call me that,” you mumble, ears twitching furiously. “R-Riddle might hear…”
Cater just grins, pulling out his phone to snap a quick selfie of your panicked expression. “You’ve gotta chill! It’s like, the 5th time today you’ve looked like you're on trial.”
You flinch. On trial?! That’s even worse! “I-I can’t relax! W-what if I break a rule?!”
Cater just pats your head, ruffling your hair. "Well, I think you're doing just fine! Plus, it makes for great content. Smile, #bunnyfails!"
You want to disappear into the ground. But Cater just keeps snapping pics and laughing.
Ace Trappola:
Ace treats you like an adorable walking ball of stress that’s just begging to be messed with. And who is Ace if not a professional button-pusher?
"Hey! Rabbit!" Ace shouts across the Heartslabyul gardens one day, and you nearly jump out of your skin, spilling tea all over yourself.
“E-Excuse me?!” you sputter, face burning as you frantically blot at the stain on your uniform.
Ace saunters over with a grin on his face. "Oh, sorry. Did I startle you? You’re just so jumpy—like, literally! It’s hilarious!"
"I-I’m not jumpy!" you insist, but your trembling hands betray you as you fumble with your napkin, accidentally knocking the sugar bowl off the table.
Ace bursts out laughing, nearly doubling over. "Dude, you’re killing me! I swear, every time I’m around, it’s like watching a sitcom! *This* is quality entertainment!"
You huff, glaring at him, ears drooping. "I’m not entertainment."
Ace just gives you a thumbs-up. "Sure you are. And the best part is, you do it all for free!"
Deuce Spade:
Deuce wants to help. He really does. But every time he sees you looking like you’re two seconds from a meltdown, he panics even harder than you do.
"W-whoa! Are you okay?!" Deuce exclaims when he finds you frantically digging through your bag, trying to find the Queen’s latest decree—or was it Riddle’s study notes? You can't remember because you’re too stressed.
"I-I lost the thing! You know, the thing!" you gasp out, waving your arms wildly.
Deuce pales. "Oh no, that’s bad! I-I can help! What thing?!”
"I DON’T KNOW!" you cry, at the peak of panic now.
Deuce stares at you for a second, eyes wide. Then he also starts scrambling around. "Okay, okay! We can find it! Stay calm! Well—not calm, but calmer!"
You both end up running in circles until Trey finds you and asks, deadpan, “What exactly are you two looking for?”
The silence that follows is deafening.
“Um…” Deuce rubs the back of his head sheepishly. “I... kind of forgot.”
Tumblr media
Leona Kingscholar:
Leona knows exactly how to push your buttons—and he does so with as little effort as possible. For someone so calm and lazy, he seems to get a real kick out of watching you squirm.
“Oi, herbivore,” Leona drawls from his usual spot under the shade of a tree. You freeze, clutching your bag tighter as you glance nervously in his direction. “Why are you sneaking around like a prey animal? Oh, wait—you are one.”
You flinch and stammer, “I-I’m not sneaking, I’m just, um... minding my own business?”
Leona smirks, lazily cracking open one eye to look at you. “If you ‘mind your business’ any harder, you’re gonna trip over your own feet.”
You gulp, taking a step back, but he’s not done with you. “Maybe if you tried relaxing for once, you wouldn’t be so jittery.”
“I-I can’t help it!” you squeak, nearly tripping as you scuttle away, ears twitching furiously. “I have to follow the rules!”
Leona watches you run off, chuckling lowly to himself. “Rules, huh? Just don’t drop dead from the stress, or I’ll have to carry your sorry hide out of here.”
You spend the next week worrying that he’s going to jump out of nowhere and pounce on you—but of course, that’s way too much effort for Leona.
Ruggie Bucchi:
Ruggie sees you as someone who’s just begging to be teased, and he has no qualms about taking full advantage of your easily flustered nature.
One day, while you’re doing your best to stay out of trouble, Ruggie sneaks up behind you, flashing that mischievous grin of his. “Hey there, Bunny! Need some help with that?”
You yelp and nearly leap out of your skin, sending your stack of papers flying in every direction. “R-Ruggie! You startled me!”
Ruggie snickers as he helps you gather up the papers. “Aw, c’mon, I didn’t mean to. You’re just too easy, y’know? Makes me wanna mess with you a little.”
You pout, ears drooping. “W-well, it’s not very nice...”
He shrugs, still grinning. “What can I say? It’s in my nature. But I guess I’ll help you out, just this once.” He leans in closer and lowers his voice, adding, “Don’t expect it for free, though.”
Your face goes pale. “Wh-what do you want?”
Ruggie chuckles. “Relax, I’m just teasing! For now, anyway.” He winks before sauntering off, leaving you clutching your papers and wondering if every beastman in Savanaclaw has it out for you.
Jack Howl:
Jack feels a sense of duty to protect you. Even though he thinks you’re a little too skittish for your own good, he respects how hard you try to follow the rules—even when you trip over them.
“Hey, wait up,” Jack calls after you one day as you’re hurrying across campus. You turn to see him jogging over, looking concerned.
“O-oh! Jack! I-I didn’t do anything wrong, did I?” you ask nervously, already panicking that you might have broken some rule.
Jack frowns, crossing his arms. “You didn’t do anything wrong. Why do you always assume you did?”
You blink up at him, ears twitching. “I-I’m just worried I’ll mess up...”
Jack sighs, shaking his head. “You’re too hard on yourself. Look, if anyone tries to mess with you, I’ll step in. No one’s gonna hurt you while I’m around.”
Your eyes widen. “R-really? You’d do that?”
Jack nods firmly. “Of course. You’ve got a good heart, even if you’re a bit jumpy. Someone’s gotta look out for you.”
You smile up at him, feeling a little more reassured. But before you can thank him, you trip over your own feet and fall forward—right into Jack’s arms.
He catches you easily, looking down at you with a raised brow. “You’re really something, you know that?”
You blush furiously, scrambling to right yourself. “S-sorry! I-I didn’t mean to...”
Jack just chuckles softly. “Don’t worry. I’ve got your back, Bunny.”
Tumblr media
Azul Ashengrotto:
Azul sees your anxiety as an untapped market. He’s confident he could help soothe your nerves—with a little contract, of course.
One day, while you’re quietly minding your own business in the Mostro Lounge, Azul slips into the seat across from you with his signature grin. “Ah, my dear friend. You seem rather... tense.”
You freeze in place, blinking rapidly. “O-oh! N-no, I’m just... trying to follow the rules.”
Azul’s eyes gleam behind his glasses. “Why don’t I offer you a deal? I can help alleviate some of that stress of yours. All it would take is a small favor in return...”
Your ears twitch nervously. “U-um... I-I’m not sure...”
Azul leans closer, lowering his voice to a silky whisper. “Imagine it—no more anxiety, no more worries about breaking the rules. All you’d have to do is sign here...”
You nearly pass out from the pressure, eyes darting around the lounge as if looking for an escape. “I-I think I’m fine! Really! Thank you!”
Azul chuckles darkly as you bolt from the lounge. He watches you go with a sigh. “Ah, such potential... But I suppose it’s not every day I encounter a rabbit so determined to resist.”
Jade Leech:
Jade finds your anxious behavior endlessly fascinating. He’s not one to outright tease—he prefers subtlety—but he enjoys watching you squirm in his presence.
One afternoon, you’re frantically trying to fix a mistake in your homework when Jade appears behind you without a sound. “Oh my, is everything alright?”
You yelp, almost knocking over your ink bottle. “J-Jade! You startled me!”
Jade smiles pleasantly, though you can see a mischievous glint in his eyes. “I apologize. I simply couldn’t help but notice how... flustered you seemed.”
You try to calm your racing heart. “I-I’m just trying to finish this assignment...”
Jade leans over your shoulder, examining your work. “Ah, I see. Perhaps I could offer some assistance? Though I must admit, it is rather... amusing to watch you at times.”
You flush, ears twitching in embarrassment. “A-amusing?”
Jade chuckles softly, standing upright again. “Indeed. You’re quite endearing in your own way.”
You’re not sure if that’s a compliment or not, but you nod meekly. “T-thank you... I think?”
Floyd Leech:
Floyd loves messing with you. It’s as simple as that. Your reactions are priceless, and he never misses an opportunity to make you jump out of your skin.
“Bunnyyyyy!” Floyd calls out, voice echoing through the hall as he chases after you. You speed up, desperately trying to get away, but Floyd is faster, his long legs catching up in no time.
He grabs you by the shoulders and spins you around with a grin. “Gotcha!”
You practically shriek. “F-Floyd! I-I wasn’t—”
Floyd cackles, bending down to look you in the eyes. “You’re always so jumpy, Bunny. It’s fun chasing you! Makes me wanna squeeze you even more.”
You tremble under his intense gaze, feeling like a mouse caught by a cat. “P-please don’t squeeze too hard...”
Floyd laughs again and ruffles your hair. “No promises! But you’re too funny to squish all at once. Guess I’ll just have to keep playing with you!”
You manage a weak smile, trying not to collapse from sheer anxiety. “G-great...”
Tumblr media
Kalim Al-Asim:
Kalim is oblivious to your constant anxiety and thinks you’re just really shy. He goes out of his way to befriend you, always offering kind words and gifts to make you feel welcome.
One day, Kalim approaches you with a beaming smile, holding out a brightly wrapped gift. “Hey, I got this for you!”
Your ears twitch in surprise. “F-for me? Why?”
Kalim laughs cheerfully. “Why not? You’re my friend! And you always look so nervous, I thought this might cheer you up!”
You blink down at the gift, overwhelmed by his kindness. “I-I don’t know what to say...”
Kalim grins wider. “No need to say anything! Just know that if you ever feel anxious, I’m here for you, okay?”
His sunny demeanor is so contagious that you can’t help but smile back. “Th-thank you, Kalim. That means a lot...”
Kalim claps you on the back with a laugh, nearly knocking you off your feet. “No worries! We’re friends, after all!”
Jamil Viper:
Jamil is mildly exasperated by your anxious nature. He already has his hands full with Kalim, so dealing with you on top of that feels like another babysitting job. Still, he does his best to help you out when Kalim inevitably ropes you into their social circle.
One day, you’re standing awkwardly at the edge of a party, trying to blend into the wallpaper when Jamil approaches you with a sigh. “You look like you’d rather be anywhere else.”
You glance at him nervously. “I-I don’t want to cause any trouble...”
Jamil pinches the bridge of his nose. “You’re not causing trouble. Just... relax a little, okay? You don’t have to be so anxious all the time.”
You look up at him with wide eyes. “I-I don’t know how...”
Jamil sighs again, crossing his arms. “Well, just... follow Kalim’s lead, I guess. He doesn’t worry about anything.”
You look over at Kalim, who’s dancing on a table and laughing without a care in the world. “Easier said than done...”
Jamil gives you a tired look. “Tell me about it.”
Tumblr media
Vil Schoenheit:
Vil is very much like the Queen you serve—strict, elegant, and entirely intimidating. Which means every time you’re around him, you end up feeling like you’re going to pass out from sheer anxiety.
“Why are you slouching like that?” Vil snaps, noticing you trying to fade into the background during a Pomefiore meeting. He points a perfectly manicured finger at you, expression sharp. “Posture is important, darling.”
You immediately stand straighter, ears trembling slightly. “I-I’m sorry, Vil! I didn’t mean to—"
“Hmm,” Vil tilts his head, examining you with a critical eye. “I swear, being around you is like trying to train an anxious little bunny. How am I supposed to shape you into anything presentable if you’re always two seconds away from fainting?”
“I-I promise to do better!” you stammer, sweating bullets.
Vil sighs dramatically, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Just… try not to look like prey when you’re in front of an audience, alright? We can’t have Pomefiore’s image ruined because someone mistook you for their lunch.”
You nod furiously, completely unsure how you’re supposed to accomplish that but determined to try.
Rook Hunt:
Rook finds you utterly fascinating, like a rare creature he’s determined to observe in its natural habitat. Which is to say, he’s always popping up out of nowhere and scaring the living daylights out of you.
“Mon lapin!” Rook exclaims from behind you, and you jump about three feet in the air, ears standing straight up.
“R-Rook! Please don’t do that!” you gasp, clutching your chest as you try to calm your racing heart.
Rook just smiles at you, his eyes glinting with amusement. “Ah, but I cannot help it! The way you react—so pure, so genuine, like a rabbit hearing a twig snap in the forest! It’s magnifique!”
You gulp, ears slowly drooping back down. “I-I don’t think being compared to prey is exactly a compliment…”
“But of course it is!” Rook insists, stepping closer and giving you a dazzling grin. “You are a creature of instinct, always alert, always prepared to flee! There is beauty in that, mon ami. And I, as your loyal huntsman, will ensure no harm befalls you.”
You smile nervously, unsure if that’s comforting or even scarier. “T-that’s… good to know?”
Rook’s eyes sparkle, as if he’s just found his next great challenge. “Ah, but one day, I hope to see you without fear, to see the calm, serene smile of a rabbit at rest. What a glorious sight that would be!”
You have no idea how to respond to that, so you just nod, deciding it’s better not to question Rook’s eccentricity.
Epel Felmier:
Epel thinks you’re kind of cool, actually. You’re nervous all the time, yeah, but you’re also from a strict background and work under pressure constantly. He respects that. Which means he’s decided that you’re his unofficial partner in surviving Vil’s tyranny.
“Hey, c’mon, you don’t need to be that scared of Vil,” Epel says one day, nudging your side as the two of you scrub cauldrons in the alchemy lab. “Sure, he’s scary, but if you just stand up to him once, he’ll back off… probably.”
You glance at Epel, eyes wide. “S-stand up to Vil?! Are you crazy?! I can’t do that! He’ll turn me into a newt or—o-or make me into some kind of fashionable accessory!”
Epel chuckles, shaking his head. “Nah, he ain’t that bad. You just gotta show him you’ve got guts. Or at least, like, fake it.”
You swallow hard, ears drooping. “F-faking it sounds risky… What if he notices?”
Epel grins, giving you a thumbs-up. “Then we run. Fast. Like the prey animals we are.”
You blink at him, half-horrified, half-impressed. “You… consider yourself a prey animal?”
Epel shrugs. “Sometimes, yeah. I mean, what else am I gonna do against Vil? Might as well embrace it. Besides, you’re good at dodgin’ people, right? We can make it work.”
You stare at him, processing his words, then sigh in resignation. “I guess we’re in this together then…”
Epel pats your shoulder with a grin. “That’s the spirit! We’re gonna make it through this, bunny style.”
You still have no idea what “bunny style” entails, but you’re willing to trust Epel’s wild plans—for now.
Tumblr media
Idia Shroud:
Idia has never related to anyone more in his life. You anxiety is like looking into a jittery, trembling mirror, and for once, Idia is the calm one—relatively speaking.
“W-wait, you have to deliver a message to the Queen?!” Idia whispers, his hair sparking nervously. “That’s like, a total nightmare scenario.”
You nod rapidly, wringing your hands. “Y-yes, but I’m already late, and if I don’t get there soon, it’s off with my head!”
Idia shivers. “No way. I’d rather stay in my room for a thousand years.” He pauses, then adds, “But, um, if you don’t wanna go, maybe… I dunno… we could… not go together?”
You blink at him, your ears twitching at the idea of hiding away instead. “R-really? We can do that?”
He gives you an awkward thumbs-up, his face flushed. “Yeah… like, what’s the worst that could happen? Besides decapitation… but it’s not like anyone would expect me to be brave, right?”
You both glance at Ortho, who’s floating nearby and giving you the biggest, most judgmental sigh he can muster.
“You two need more courage,” Ortho says, shaking his head. “But I’ll help. Let’s make a plan!”
And just like that, your anxiety spirals back into full-on panic.
Ortho Shroud:
Ortho thinks you’re adorable, but he also realizes that you’re a magnet for trouble. So, naturally, he has to make sure you’re safe at all times.
“Good morning!” Ortho beams, floating beside you as you fumble with your basket of letters. “Where are you off to today?”
You twitch slightly, looking over your shoulder. “Oh, um, just delivering some messages… It’s a bit urgent…”
Ortho smiles, activating his sensors. “No problem! I’ll track your location and help with navigation!”
You blink, unsure if you should be relieved or more nervous. “T-track my location?”
Ortho nods cheerfully, a holographic map popping up. “Yup! We can’t have you getting lost in the rose maze again. Remember last time? You were stuck for hours!”
Your ears droop, embarrassed. “I-it’s not my fault everything looks the same…”
“Not to worry!” Ortho reassures. “I’ll make sure you’re in and out in no time! Plus, if you faint from fear, I can carry you.”
The thought of Ortho hauling you over his shoulder while Riddle scolds you is somehow even scarier than getting lost.
Tumblr media
Malleus Draconia:
Malleus has never met someone so jittery around him—and that’s saying something. He finds it… oddly endearing.
“Good evening, Child of Man,(Hare(?))” Malleus greets, his deep voice echoing through the hallway.
You jump about a foot in the air, your ears standing straight up. “L-Lord Malleus! I-I didn’t see you there!”
Malleus tilts his head, clearly confused. “I was standing right in the middle of the hall.”
You gulp, trying not to show your terror. “S-sorry! I just, um, wasn’t expecting—um—dragons are very quiet, apparently!”
Malleus raises an eyebrow, then smiles, showing just a hint of fang. “I assure you, I have no intention of frightening you.”
You nod rapidly, ears still trembling. “O-of course, Your Highness! I mean, who’s scared? Not me! Totally fine! Super relaxed!”
Malleus chuckles, and the sound is somehow both amused and terrifying. “You truly are quite… peculiar.”
You have no idea if that’s a compliment or an insult, but you nod like it’s the greatest praise in the world. “T-thank you, Lord Malleus.”
Lilia Vanrouge:
Lilia finds you endlessly amusing. He likes to see just how much he can tease you before you pass out from fright.
“Hello, little rabbit,” Lilia says, appearing out of *nowhere* like he always does.
You squeak, nearly dropping your stack of paperwork. “A-ah! L-Lilia! P-please don’t sneak up on me like that!”
He grins, fangs peeking out. “Oh, but it’s so much fun. You jump every time, like a startled bunny.”
You frown, puffing your cheeks out indignantly, but it only makes you look cuter. “I-I can’t help it! I’m just… easily startled.”
Lilia nods sagely, pretending to consider your words. “Perhaps I should warn you next time? Though that might take away all the fun…”
You gulp, trying to decide if he’s joking or not. “P-please do…”
He laughs, patting your head affectionately. “I make no promises, little one. Just stay on your toes!”
Silver:
Silver finds your constant panic a little concerning, but mostly, it makes him tired just watching you.
You find Silver leaning against a tree, dozing off like usual. “Um, Silver? A-aren’t you supposed to be training?”
Silver blinks awake, giving you a sleepy smile. “Oh, hello. Training? Right, yes, I was. I… took a short rest.”
You fidget, eyes darting around nervously. “W-well, um, I don’t want to interrupt… but could you help me? I think I lost the Queen’s letter again.”
Silver nods slowly, rubbing his eyes. “Of course. But first, you need to breathe. You’re more jittery than the dormouse.”
You force a shaky breath in, nodding. “R-right. Breathe. I can do that.”
Silver gives you a thumbs-up. “Good. Just stay calm. We’ll find it together.”
And then he promptly falls asleep again.
You stare at him, exasperated. “S-Silver?!”
Sebek Zigvolt:
Sebek is flabbergasted by your lack of composure. It drives him nuts—but also, he thinks you’re kind of adorable, like a helpless bunny.
“YOU!” Sebek bellows, making you flinch so hard you almost trip over yourself. “HOW CAN YOU BE THIS INCOMPETENT?!”
You cringe, clutching your ears. “I-I’m sorry! I’m trying my best, I swear!”
Sebek huffs, crossing his arms. “YOUR BEST IS BARELY ADEQUATE! YOU MUST STRIVE FOR PERFECTION, LIKE LORD MALLEUS!”
You gulp, nodding frantically. “R-right! I’ll… I’ll try harder!”
Sebek looks at your terrified face and sighs, his tone softening just a bit. “FINE, FINE. JUST DON’T MESS UP AGAIN. HERE.”
He hands you the paper you dropped, his ears turning slightly pink. “AND STOP LOOKING SO SCARED. IT’S… DISTRACTING.”
You blink at him, surprised. “D-distracting?”
“YES!” he shouts, clearly flustered. “NOW GO! LORD MALLEUS EXPECTS PERFECTION!”
You scurry away, leaving Sebek to mutter to himself, face flushed. “Such a weak little rabbit…”
Tumblr media
Rollo Flamme:
Rollo tries so hard not to be charmed by you, really. He doesn’t like distractions, and you’re the most distracting bunny he’s ever met.
“Are you lost again?” Rollo asks with a sigh, watching as you nervously peek around a corner.
You jump, ears twitching. “O-oh, Rollo! I was just, um… trying to find the courtyard…”
Rollo pinches the bridge of his nose. “You’ve passed it three times already.”
You fumble with your hands, embarrassment turning your face pink. “I-I was just… making sure it was the right one…”
Rollo looks at your big, earnest eyes and sighs again, softer this time. “You’re hopeless,” he mutters. Then, reluctantly, he reaches for your hand, leading you back the way you came. “Come on. I can’t leave you wandering around all day.”
You follow behind him, ears drooping. “S-sorry…”
Rollo shakes his head, not even looking back. “Just try not to get lost again.”
You can’t help but smile a little. “I-I’ll try.”
Neige LeBlanche:
Neige thinks you’re the cutest thing ever. He’s the kind of person who immediately wants to be friends with you, especially because you look so nervous all the time.
“Hello!” Neige waves, beaming at you from across the way.
You blink, startled. “O-oh, um… hello, Neige…”
Neige practically skips over to you, his smile never faltering. “Are you okay? You look a little lost.”
You nod rapidly, trying not to be intimidated by his energy. “Y-yes, I’m fine! Just a little… um…”
“Aw, don’t worry!” Neige says, giving you an encouraging pat on the back. “You’ve got this! I believe in you!”
You stare at him, completely baffled. “You… you do?”
Neige nods earnestly. “Of course! And if you need any help, just let me know, okay? I’ll be your bunny buddy!”
Your ears twitch at the nickname, and you manage a shaky smile. “O-okay… Thank you, Neige.”
Dire Crowley:
Crowley finds your constant worrying both exhausting and oddly entertaining. He’s never seen anyone so concerned about breaking every single rule.
“Ah, You!” Crowley calls out, catching you just as you’re about to dash off with a stack of paperwork. “Do you have the reports I asked for?”
You freeze, turning to him with wide eyes. “R-reports? Oh no, I—I thought I delivered those to Professor Trein!”
Crowley sighs dramatically, putting a hand to his forehead. “Of course, of course. Why must I be surrounded by such incompetent students?”
You fidget, looking down at your feet. “I-I’m sorry, Headmaster… I’ll go get them right away—”
Crowley waves a hand dismissively. “No, no, I suppose it can wait. You do look like you’re about to pass out from all the running.”
Your ears droop, and you mumble, “I-I’m not… I’m just… very busy…”
He chuckles, shaking his head. “Well, do try not to collapse before lunch, won’t you? I can’t have students fainting in my halls.”
You nod, scurrying away. Crowley watches you go, muttering to himself, “Honestly, there's no one more magnanimous than me…”
Divus Crewel:
Crewel is exasperated by your anxious behavior. He wants you to be confident, but instead, you’re always shaking in your boots.
“[Name], if you can’t handle a simple potion assignment, how do you expect to survive in this world?” Crewel says, his tone sharp as he points at your cauldron.
You gulp, ears twitching. “I-I’m sorry, Professor… I just, um, thought I might have put too much wormroot…”
Crewel raises an eyebrow. “Too much? Or not enough? Make up your mind, pup.”
Your eyes widen, and you flinch. “R-right! I-I mean, um, not enough—no, wait…”
Crewel sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. “This is hopeless.” Then, with a softer tone, he adds, “Focus. You can do this, but not if you keep second-guessing every move.”
You take a deep breath, nodding. “Y-yes, Professor.”
Crewel watches as you go back to your work, and though he doesn’t say it, there’s a hint of a smile on his face. “Perhaps there’s hope for you yet.”
Mozus Trein:
Trein is generally strict, but even he can’t bring himself to be too harsh with you. Your anxious nature reminds him of some of his more timid students in the past.
“You’re late to class again,” Trein says, giving you a stern look.
You flinch, clutching your bag close. “I-I’m so sorry, Professor… I got lost in the halls again…”
Trein sighs, shaking his head. “You’ve been here long enough to know the way, haven’t you?”
You nod, ears drooping. “Y-yes, sir… I just… it’s the Queen’s court day, and I was trying to avoid… um…”
Trein raises an eyebrow, his expression softening slightly. “Avoid the Queen’s wrath, hm?” He nods, as if understanding completely. “Well, see that it doesn’t happen again. And try to relax. You won’t learn anything if you’re always in a state of panic.”
You bow deeply, almost knocking over your desk in the process. “Y-yes, Professor Trein! Thank you!”
Trein sighs as you scurry to your seat, muttering to himself, “Poor child… so much anxiety…”
Ashton Vargas:
Vargas can’t help but laugh at your feeble attempts at physical activity. You’re about as coordinated as a baby deer—and just as panicked.
“Alright, everyone! Time for a run around the track!” Vargas shouts, blowing his whistle.
You gulp, your ears already drooping at the thought of running. “U-um, Professor Vargas, I’m not sure I’m… physically… capable…”
Vargas claps you on the back, nearly sending you sprawling. “Nonsense! Every beastman’s got it in them! Even you, little bunny!”
You try to protest, but he’s already started the timer. You stumble forward, your legs shaky, and you can hear Vargas laughing from behind.
“Look at that! The rabbit is really running for their life!” Vargas calls out, and the whole class turns to watch you struggle around the track.
You feel your face burn, but you keep running, heart pounding. It’s either run or face Vargas’s motivational speeches again, and honestly, you’re not sure which is worse.
Sam:
Sam loves seeing you in his shop, mostly because you’re so jumpy it’s easy to sneak up on you—unintentionally, of course. He finds your reactions amusing.
“Hello, hello!” Sam calls out as you walk into his shop, and you jump about a foot in the air.
“Ah—M-Mister Sam! I-I didn’t see you there!” you stammer, clutching your chest like your heart might leap out.
Sam laughs, leaning over the counter. “You’re always so jittery, little bunny. Relax! I’ve got just the thing to calm those nerves…” He pulls out a small vial of something labeled “Relaxation Remedy.”
You eye the bottle suspiciously. “Um… t-that’s not… gonna put me to sleep, is it?”
He chuckles, shaking his head. “Not unless you drink the whole bottle, friend.” He winks. “I’m just lookin’ out for ya, y’know?”
You nod, still unsure but grateful. “T-thank you… I’ll, um… take one, I guess…”
Sam smiles, putting the vial in a bag for you. “No problem, little imp. Come back if you need more!”
You nod, scurrying out of the shop. Sam watches you leave, shaking his head with a grin. “That one’s gonna give themselves a heart attack one day…”
Grim:
Grim likes to think he’s the bravest in the group, but even he can see you’re worse off than him in the bravery department. He likes to boss you around, mostly to feel better about himself.
“Oi, bunny!” Grim shouts, jumping onto your desk. “You got my homework done yet?”
You squeak, nearly toppling out of your chair. “Y-your homework?! Grim, I—I can’t keep doing your work for you…”
Grim pouts, waving a paw at you. “Oh, come on! You’re already nervous all the time—what’s a little extra stress, huh?”
You huff, fidgeting with your pen. “G-Grim, I’m already at my limit! I-I’ve got the Queen’s orders, and Riddle’s rules, and now you want me to—”
Grim interrupts, hopping closer and giving you a smug grin. “Yeah, yeah, I get it, you’re a busy bunny. But you know, if you help me, I’ll… uh, protect you from any monsters! Yeah, how about that?”
You blink, considering it. “P-protect me? From monsters?”
Grim nods, puffing out his chest. “Yup! I’m the Great Grim, after all! I’m basically a professional monster hunter.”
You stare at him, unsure, your ears slowly drooping. “I-I guess… that would be helpful…”
Grim smirks, satisfied. “See? I knew you’d come around!” He jumps off your desk, tail flicking with glee. “Alright, I’ll be back later to pick up my homework. Make sure it’s perfect, okay?”
You sigh, watching him strut away. “H-how did I even get myself into this…?”
Grim doesn’t hear you, already daydreaming about what snack he’ll demand from you next. “It’s good to be the boss,” he mutters, chuckling to himself.
You slump in your seat, wondering if there would ever come a day when you’re not running around doing everyone’s bidding. But then again, you think, maybe that’s just the fate of a White Rabbit…

The Succession (Part 2)
Summary: After the battle of Rook’s Rest, Queen Y/N is forced to rule alongside Prince Regent Aemond, in an attempt to keep her children safe and eventually seat her mother, Rhaenyra, on the throne. While attending her husband, on what appears to be his deathbed, she begins to unravel the dark truth of his near passing.
Aegon Targaryen x Velaryon(Strong)!Reader
Part 1
Tumblr media
Y/N wakes to a knock at the door. Rubbing sleep from her eyes, she sits upright. Aegon is still there, unmoving beside her. “Come.”
“Good morrow, your grace.” Her lady in waiting, Chérie, bows her head upon entry; a powder blue gown draped over one arm. “You must break your fast.”
“What ungodly hour is it?” The Queen grumbles, stretching both arms above her head.
“Nearly midday, my Queen.”
Y/N nods, taking her hand. “I need a favor of you.”
“A bath?” Chérie smirks.
Y/N stares down at herself, nightgown stained with blood and gods know what else. She huffs a laugh, “that as well.”
“I will ready the tub.”
“Chérie?”
“Are you seeking comfort, your grace?” She has lost her grandmother and her husband’s good health, “I could tend you.”
“No.” Y/N stares down at her hands.
“Forgive me for assuming.” She takes a step back, “I only want to help.”
Y/N moves forward, closing the space between them. “It was kind of you, Chérie. I appreciate your devotion, more than you know. There is something different I need of you.”
“Name it.”
“You know things…I must know them.”
“What is it you need know?” Chérie wonders.
“The truth of what happened at Rook’s Rest. I do not pretend to understand Aegon’s motivations. Gods willing, I may be able to ask him one day. But for now, I need know what befell him. Cole dances around it, the Hightowers will never be truthful with me.”
“Is there anything you do know? A talking point that might be of use as I consult the servants?” Chérie wonders.
Y/N leans in. “Helaena and Aemond stood at the foot of his bed last night. She asked if it was worth the price. Aemond denied any knowledge of what she meant. Still, Helaena does not speak to cause upset, she speaks when she has something to say. If he’s done this…the whole of our line may be in danger.”
Chérie sighs, “somedays I am glad to’ve been born a commoner.”
“For that I do not fault you.” Y/N forces a smile.
Chérie steals a glance at the king. “Will he live?”
“We’ve no way of knowing. I pray to the gods for his recovery, but it is a long road. He will never be as he was, so long as he lives, it matters naught to me.”
————————————————————————
“There’s been word from King’s Landing.”
Rhaenyra’s head snaps up.
“Aegon has fallen, the stranger looms over his head. With Vhagar weakened in the attack, now is the time to act.”
“And what of my daughter?” The Queen ticks a finger against the table. “Has she been spotted since Aegon’s coronation?”
“We believe the princess lives, your grace. But upon second hand testimony, smallfolk in the streets, we cannot say for certain.”
“What was she doing?” Rhaenyra wonders, “my girl, when they saw her in the streets?”
The lords look to each other, “she marched beside the carriage with Aegon’s body.”
“That is proof enough. I must send word to her, she cannot think we have turned our backs on her. With Aegon gone, she may very well be Aemond’s next attempt.” Rhaenyra is sick over it.
“You must trust, as we have, that Aegon will care for her.”
“He cannot care for her, upon his deathbed. Should he pass, we leave her to whom? Aemond and Alicent? She will be put to the sword.” Rhaenyra shakes her head.
“Meleys was our largest dragon, your grace.” Ser Alfred reminds her.
“Which is why I must go.”
“You cannot, my Queen. You are the crown.”
“I will go.” Jacaerys fists the hilt of his sword.
“No,” Rhaenyra scoffs. “It is out of the question. You will be taken or slain.”
“Would you rather my sister or me?” Jace squares his shoulders. “Those are your choices.”
————————————————————————-
Y/N forces her meal down, spending the evening in her children’s rooms.
“Mama,” Visera calls to her, “I’ve made something for father.”
“I helped!” Dahlia chimes in. “Laenor wanted to, but he rubbed his hands all over it. The painting was nearly ruined.”
“Say it isn’t so, my loves.” Y/N lifts her eldest son onto her hip. “Shall I kiss his head off?”
“Yes.”
“Do it.”
Y/N smiles, peppering Laenor’s sweet face with kisses as he squeals, thrashing wildly in her hold.
Dahlia and Visera giggle, entertained for the moment.
“And you, my prince, best have learned your lesson.” Y/N says, releasing her son onto the floor.
He scampers away, still screeching with glee.
“Mother?” Dahlia tugs at her mother’s skirts.
“Yes, my darling?”
“When will we see father?”
Y/N sighs, “come, sit with me.” She pats the cushions on either side of her.
Her daughters look to each other, then join her on the settee.
“Do you remember what Papa told you about sickness? How it is a war we wage alone, within our bodies?”
“Is he ill?”
“Not exactly,” Y/N explains, “nevertheless, his body is at war now. Battling to repair itself from great wounds, some we cannot see. Every hour, he is fighting his way back to us. But he must remain abed for now, in a state of sleep.”
“May we watch him sleep?” Visera wonders.
“I fear you might be saddened by it.”
“Why, Mama?”
“He looks a bit different, on the outside. But on the inside he is the same.” Y/N says, fighting for composure, “we mustn’t touch him, lest we cause more pain. And it is hard to keep our distance, when all we truly want is to wrap him in an embrace.”
“Mayhaps when we see him, we might hold each other instead.”
Y/N looks to her eldest daughter. “On the morrow, after his bandages are changed, I will bring you. And if it is too much for you, there is no shame in saying so. We love him dearly and he knows it.”
“That is what matters, I think.” Visera says, “if I were waging war, I would want to know someone loved me.”
————————————————————————
Y/N sneaks down to the kitchens for a bit of cake, heading to Aegon’s apartments to eat it. The doors open onto Aemond, leaning over Aegon’s body.
“What are you doing?” She has no weapon, if she’s to kill him now, it will be with her bare hands or a serving spoon.
Aemond turns to her, with sly smile. “My brother was asking for you. He woke in pain, I was merely supplying him with milk of the poppy.”
Y/N forces her mouth to turn upward, “very kind of you, I thank you for looking in on him.”
Aemond nods, setting the empty cup on the bedside table. “Of course.”
“When he asked for me, what did he say?” She wonders, lying her plate of cake beside it.
“Only your name.”
Y/N nods.
“You have been a good and faithful wife to him. Aegon is blessed to have you.”
“Aemond,” Y/N breathes, “might I ask you something?”
His eye flickers about her, “of course, sweet niece.”
“What do you think was his undoing?” She motions to Aegon, “if you had to say?”
“Vanity…pride.”
“It would be suited,” Y/N forces the awful words past her lips, “for someone to take that from him.”
“You should not say such things, my Queen. The thought alone is truly depraved.”
“Of course, forgive me.”
“What befell my brother is nothing short of a tragedy.” Aemond purrs, “you must keep your wits about you.”
“Were they locked in battle?” Y/N asks, “when my grandmother gave Meleys the order?”
Aemond purses his lips, “when dragons fly to war, it is men who burn. Aegon is not the first, he will not be the last. You should be grateful he returned to you.”
“I have lost a brother to war.” Y/N says, as if he needs reminding. “I know its cruelty.”
“A shame, indeed.” Aemond hums.
“I hope it was worth the price.”
“Y/N.” Alicent calls, “Aemond, what are you doing here?”
The prince looks to his mother, “I was merely checking in on our king.”
“You are kind to do so,” Alicent swallows, “as his wife is now here, you are relieved of said duty. Unless you wish the three of us to hold vigil.”
“Perhaps another time, mother.” Aemond nods, “I’ve more pressing matters to attend.” He brushes past them, closing the door to Aegon’s bedchamber behind him.
“What were you thinking?” Alicent demands, in a hushed whisper. “My son pleads for your life and you stand here tempting the very man who-”
“The very man who what?” Y/N dares her to say it. “Killed my brother? Or are you referring to some other atrocity I am not privy to?”
“Your children are in danger, my grandchildren, let me help you.” Alicent reaches for her.
Y/N bats her hand away, “don’t you touch me! My children are in danger because of you.”
“You know what Aemond is.” Kinslayer. Alicent swallows, hard. “My only concern is keeping you safe. What is to stop him from taking out the whole of Aegon’s line to make room for his own? The smallfolk riot in the streets, demanding we open the gates. Even they wish to flee, it is all going to ruin. They need to see you.”
“They will see me as you parade my body through the streets after my murder, not a moment before. I will not betray my mother or her claim.”
“I am not asking you to stand against Rhaenyra, I am asking you to stand for my son. Before it is too late. You owe him this. You forced him onto that saddle as much as I forced him upon the throne.”
“I?” Y/N snaps, “I am the one you blame for this? You think I would have my husband reduced to ash over a fucking chair?”
Alicent presses her lips together, “all Aegon has done is in your name. He rose and he fell for you alone.”
“I wanted this to be peaceful, you know. I truly did and my mother did, then again and again I was taken for a fool.”
“Aegon loves you. He went to meet Rhaenys for you, in hopes of creating new terms with your mother. Mayhaps others have used you, like a pawn to carry out their own agenda, but not Aegon. He never plotted, he never wavered, even in his condition, you are the agenda.”
“And I love him for it, but please know I did not ask him to meet with her. I would have gone myself rather than risk his life. That is why I have not fled, or stole away with my children to Dragonstone. Aegon is equally important to me.”
“You must ready yourself then, in the color of our house.”
“No,” Y/N narrows her eyes, “this is for my husband, who hangs precariously in the balance of life and death. I will attend this procession in the color of mourning, not Hightower green.”

In the absence of Daemon, Rhaenyra turns to Mysaria for counsel. “You know the ins and outs of King’s Landing better than any. I need an in.”
“Criston Cole made a mistake, parading a dragon’s head through the streets, like a prize of war. The people see an ill omen.” Mysaria tells her.
“Yes, as do I.”
“They are afraid, bread is scarce. The king has fallen, they whisper to each other that when Viserys lived there was peace.” They question the succession.
“But will whispers tear down stone? Break shields?” Save my daughter?
“Do not underestimate them, to the discontented, rumors are feed.” Mysaria continues. “What you cannot do, let others to do for you. There is more than one way to fight a war.”
