trans exclusionary radical feminism is characterized by:

1, the belief that maleness is inherently linked to being a violent rapist, no better than an animal (or less than an animal)

2, women need to be protected from men (this comes directly from misogyny that claims women are defenseless)

3, since women are not men, and are often victims of men, women are inherently safe (the belief that women are not capable of violence is actually misogynistic in that it claims women have to be a certain way or they are not actually women, and that women just cant do the same things as men, but terfs wont admit that)

4, since maleness is savage, anyone with a penis is savage (very flawed logic but what else would you expect)

5, any closeness to maleness is savage, and as such trans men are savage, and just as violent as any other man.

6, trans women are deceptive, and trying to sneak into female spaces to abuse real women.

7, gender is biologically inherent, and it is impossible for someone to defy it.

8, however, it is possible to fail at gender, such as a woman being "too masculine", and therefore no longer a real woman. (ridiculous isnt it?)

that is what a terf is. not every transphobe is a terf. photomatt is not a terf. desantis is not a terf.

it is a very particular set of beliefs, with protecting helpless women from the savage men at its core.

TIRFism is different, but very relevent and very present in trans spaces.

trans "inclusive" radical feminists are of the belief that trans people are exactly who they say they are, and therefore trans women need to be protected from savage trans men.

this is particularly dangerous because it easily manipulates trans people themselves.

ive seen both trans men and trans women fall victim to this ideology.

the trans men who speak up about it get called terfs, even when they show nothing but support for trans women.

trans women with this belief think that trans men gain something from being men. this is not true at all. trans men with this belief think the same, but also that if they personally haven't been oppressed for their gender, then no one has.

i gain nothing from being a man. it not really privilege if it can be revoked the instant someone knows im trans.

when its convenient, im a clueless little girl, manipulated by the discussion of transandrophobia. reeks of "women are helpless little creatures" doesn't it?

again, when its convenient, im a savage man and not safe to be around.

trans women experience the same thing, reversed.

This will be the main trigger warning for the beginning of every scene:

The concept is basically if Karnak died before ressurecting anyone. So it's just them doing silly shenanigans as ghosts, singing songs we think they would sing, and probably a bit of angst. It will mainly act as a follow up to the 2016 bootleg version, with yannick's edits of course. (If you headcanon a different performance of your song for your character that's fine.)

We will also create character sheets consisting of name, gender, pronouns, age, sexuality, sign, birthday, favorite ride, appearance, personality, backstory, and "the most _ in town." (Mine is the only one without a sign, birthday, and favorite ride. If you forget, don't worry, I can edit it in.)

It's how you imagine the characters, with a mix of headcanons and canon.

The uniforms are the same as the 2016 ones but without the plaid.

How they wear their uniform and how they accessorize is up to you.

You can interpret the characters however you'd like, but make sure to stay faithful to their base character traits. (Things like Noel being gay and Misha being Ukrainian. Also Ricky using MOBILITY AIDS THANK YOU.)

Be as descriptive as possible. (See mine and my friends character sheets for examples!)

Also me and friends are high school students, so please only other high school students!

No NSFW roleplay. Talking about sex is fine, but no actual sex scenes! I'd prefer SFW blogs too.

I know that the actual answer is just "oh they're bigots" but like. 2. Actually I was peaked by reading the misogynistic garbage that came out of the mouths of transwomen. For example Andrea Long Chu defines being a woman as "an open mouth, an expectant asshole and blank, blank eyes". I have read books and articles and blog posts from both radfems and transpeople. I don't want to live in an echo chamber, I would much rather expand my knowledge and use my critical thinking to come to my own conclusion. When you expand your scope and look at gender identity as a whole it becomes clear that gender identity ideology is exactly that and an ideology.

3. Which brings me to this point. Gender identity ideology, like all religions, is based on the idea of mind-body dualism. This is the idea that the mind/soul can be separated from the body. You cannot be born in the wrong body because we are our bodies. Gender identity relies on faith, it relies on me believing being a woman/man is somehow connected to an internal sense of femininity/masculinity instead of our physical bodies we are born with. The only thing that makes someone a man/woman is their biology; personality traits, clothing expression, stereotypes, likes and dislikes do not dictate whether someone is a man or a woman. Gender identity ideology is the opposite side of the monotheistic religion coin which asserts that a woman must be feminine (submissive, a good mother ECT) and a man must be masculine (the bread winner, strong, a leader ECT). Gender identity ideology denies reality by asserting that sex is not real and that is has no bearing on our lives. Much like most religions it is science denialist and denies the reality everyone can observe. You also try and include everyone on your religion, even those who do not believe in it. Much like a Christian will call an Atheist a satanist you will call people who observe reality (ie anyone remotely critical of gender ideology) TERFs in order to silence them. Gender ideology even excommunicates people and encourages people to not engage with radfem ideas. Therefore, you create an echo chamber of your ideology (religion) which stops people from being able to detest or even question the ideology without facing social consequences. It's not my job to constantly affirm someone else's identity, particularly when it is built on regressive patriarchal ideas and harms women and LGB people.

4. I know that women can be assholes, but that doesn't mean you should be throwing misogynistic slurs at them ie the cword. Just because a woman disagrees with you or is a bad person doesn't justify misogyny against them. Same goes for all oppressed groups. If a transperson was being awful I wouldn't throw the t-slur at them because that would be a shit thing to do.

5. You are taking this lightly. By telling someone to kill themselves you are perpetuating a culture of making light of suicide. You are removing the gravity of what it means to commit suicide by making it a little throw away comment on a website. It makes people take suicide less seriously, particularly if someone kills themselves because of online bullying and hate. The highest suicide rate is actually men with them accounting for 75%+ of suicide deaths. This varies from country to country. This high rate of death is because men select more violent methods of killing themselves (guns for example) while women who attempt suicide more than any other group are less likely to succeed because they choose non-violent methods (like pills). Trans suicide statistics are difficult to actually look at because the T and the LGB are often grouped together. But needless to say there should be support for all people, trans or not, struggling mentally and with suicidal ideation.

(2/2) like following on from my last ask (about the lack of like trans men's visibility on youtube) it's not like i'm specifically pissed at him, i think he does great stuff, i'm just pissed that like there's so few visible trans men or trans mens perspectives and even the ones i can think of off the top of my head are all white.

Yeah I agree, I'm not a trans men of color but I also wish I got to hear more about their specific experience. Even with the very limited focus trans men and transmasc people get, it always seems to revolve around a very specific kind of trans men and transmascs.

It's a small sample but, for example, I've seen trans men of color on TikTok get a lot more hate and claims of being misogynistic than the average white trans man on that app.

Same thing with fat trans men, especially if they also don't fit the beauty standard. Transphobes think trans men and transmascs being ugly is just a punishment for going on T, so they're extra elated when someone has a receding hairline, fat rolls or doesn't look like a supermodel in general.

Meanwhile, white skinny trans men's comment sections usually have people compliment their looks (which I also don't especially like because it's usually in the really backhanded way cis people compliment us, but it's better than fighting against the average TERF) and transphobes don't feel as encouraged to post hate under those videos because they live off of a mob mentality that crumbles when they feel the crowd is against them.

It's already really frustrating to be a white trans man and feel like you have no direct line of contact with cis people, like we're trapped in a box in the middle of the ocean, so I can't even imagine how frustrating it would be to be part of an even smaller subgroup that often doesn't even get visibility from the white side of the community.

I believe that Kendall would call Shiv a TERF in an argument as a gotcha and she would get very angry and defensive about how of course she considers herself to be an ally to trans people in some vague nebulous way, while Roman who does not know nor care what a TERF is keeps deliberately riling up both of them from the side for fun

Ok this is difficult because it really depends on the context that this gets brought up. Like, the way Shiv would respond depends on how the topic of trans people has made her think about her own gender. Shiv's relationship to womanhood is quite complicated and I do still think she doesn't not identify with it but, she also doesn't feel any strong connection to it either. She would see the social conditions of womanhood as imposed on her but, her womanhood proper as being unimportant; however, I think that she also thinks that womanhood isn't a choice you can make because the conditions imposed on her are misogynistic. There's no reason she'd choose that because it's obviously disadvantageous but, she also doesn't feel any desire or need to not be a woman. Really, I don't think she thinks very hard about this. If she thinks about it for more than like 10 minutes, the transphobia sets in, though.

Since I made that list, I've thought more about how transphobic each character would be and well, Kendall has more potential than I initially thought but, it really could go either way depending on the context. I'm mostly saying this because I remembered that weird comment he made about Roman jerking off in Rava's panties. It was pretty mean and he's lucky Roman didn't hear that but, it's obviously one of those things where Shiv and Kendall attempt to bond over not being "perverts" like Roman allegedly is. The interesting thing here is how Kendall frames Roman's perversion. Him saying that Roman gets off on feminising himself (not being forcefemmed by someone else) is... cutting it real fucking close. Kendall identifies Roman's perversion as being tied to his femininity but, he can't really understand what that means. So, it becomes that Roman fetishes his own femininity which obviously, isn't really true. Roman desires to be seen by others that way but he's not attracted to femininity itself.

I think Kendall doesn't understand the point of wanting to be wanted in that way despite subconsciously also wanting that to a significantly lesser degree. Like even outside of sexuality proper (though this is obviously tangentially related), Kendall sees himself more as being Daddy's Best Knight or whatever even though that's obviously still submissive. Kendall thinks this makes sense and if they didn't live in Logan's world, yeah it does. Roman, however, wants to be Daddy's Little Princess and that's a role that doesn't fucking exist so, it's kind of unthinkable to most of them. The Roys would probably all share the opinion that this hypothetical role is inherently degrading. Shiv is not that because in Logan's mind, she's basically an angel because to him, she's practically the metaphysical essence of purity (until she reminds him that she is a person with her own mind). Shiv doesn't have a body and her use isn't in her body either aside from some vague acknowledgement of her being a cis woman via being his Only Daughter. Roman's hypothetical use as Daddy's Little Princess would be (in a purely platonic aesthetic sense), at least in part. Logan, of course, would never ever subject any of his children to the horror of knowing your own body (even though conceiving them already did that). Logan would NOT call a child, let alone his OWN children, "cute" because he is NOT a sicko pervert nonce.

honestly a relief to hear that you didnt know about it! the petty infighting is exhausting and feels so universal when youve been in spaces where it is the way of things. and yeah you nailed it with the supposition that trans men have it easier bc we arent always actively demonized the way trans women are in the current transphobic zeitgeist... for some reason people have flatly accepted the narrative "terfs want to Save females from transition" as if forced detransition and medical neglect and sexual violence (among other violences) to Fix us into being breeding stock is something to be happy and humble and quiet about. and further as if trans men *arent* ever demonized as predators seducing away young women -- we get called lost lesbians and butches, but the butches and lesbians of yesteryear were also predators seducing girls away from proper womanhood. and thats not even getting into baeddelist horseshit. its all so maddening.

This is something me and my mom talk about sometimes.

My step-mom fell down the alt-right pipeline, so she's constantly spewing some garbage about how transgenders are a threat to children, even going so far as to lightly suggest I was a pedophile when I came out to her. But my mom acknowledged a trend in that regard.

Gay men were seen as pedophiles in the last moral panic. Trans women will be seen as pedophiles in this moral panic, until it ends. I think it's fair to call this the misandristic side of homophobia. We are perceived as queer men, so we are persecuted in a way that applies to queer men: accusations of pedophilia. So, it's interesting to me to see how it works on the misogynistic side of homophobia.

Also, I find it really funny that lesbians, and now trans men, are accused of seducing girls away from their "proper" lives, because in my mind the only way that would work is if the lesbians and trans men have better fucking lifestyles. You can't exactly seduce someone without being tempting, can you? Don't point that out to a TERF though, because if you do they'll internalize it and god only knows what would come from that...

Anyway, yeah, fuck all of this. If trans men are so dangerous(?) to trans women then I'll just wait to get bit in the ass by one, which presently hasn't happened.

At the very least, it seems way more useful to direct our attention towards the actual threat to our existence posed by transphobic legislators instead of to random trans people who are threatened by the same things as us but might also be a threat somehow in some shaky way that doesn't make any fucking sense.

Something that has been on my mind is the way that this website is full of people who want to oppose TERFs more than they want to defend trans people and we are never gonna succeed by applying this method.

So many people have taken the stance that all TERFs are wrong about every belief they hold, that anything they say is one slippery slope into Nazism, and that is a fundamental misunderstanding of why TERFs are able to draw people to their side and how it is they operate.

TERFs are dangerous because they will tell you 99 truths to make you believe one lie.

TERFs appeal to potential converts by holding a LOT of the same beliefs and convictions that most of us who fall on the political left and who support social justice movements do.

So when a stealth TERF says something like "makeup bloggers, shady self-care gurus, and tiktok influencers getting plastic surgery who all appeal to one white western beauty standard isn't good for impressionable teens to be consuming constantly," and your response is to reactionarily oppose what they're saying because they're a TERF ala "fuck off, makeup rules and plastic surgery is great," you've fallen for their trap.

Because they've said something relatively sane sounding, and you've made yourself look like the unhinged one with shitty politics. And the person who hasn't been exposed to these TERF talking points and stealth missions, who also feels like maybe being bombarded by shallow looks-obsessed media isn't good for young girls' self-image, has one of two choices: believe what they see right in front of them, or take your word for it that OP is the secret villain and somehow you, who appear to hold the same values as a Fox News host, are right.

Like, some of the takes I have seen people on tumblr promote JUST to oppose a radfem are literally like something straight out of a Republican dude-bro's MAGA reddit channel. Telling women concerned about sexual assault and rape they're being sexist against men. That ANY discussion about patriarchy is transphobic and should be shut down. That all concerns about sexualizing women without their consent, or the role of violence in the porn industry, are just prudish anti-sex propaganda.

We are losing ground by ignoring what WE stand for in favor of only paying attention to what radfems stand for and opposing it. This is the exact tactic we mock Republicans and Democrats for doing, running a campaign based solely on what your opponent is doing wrong without offering any solutions or positions on issues. "TERF bad!" is not an ideology! "Trans people are human beings who deserve the same rights as their cisgender peers," is an ideology.

One thing I love to see is someone finding a good post by a radfem and refusing to engage with it, and potentially spreading OP's blog to more people, and instead making a whole new post with the same point that ISN'T going to potentially lead people down the radfem pipeline. Hell you can even leave a link to the new post in the replies of the original. I know saying "OP is right about this topic but they're a radfem so block them" probably doesn't feel as good as just leaving "die radfem scum" but when the topic is "women should be able to walk alone at night without being afraid" are you really doing a service to our cause by looking like you disagree with that? TERFs WANT to spread the message that trans people and their allies hate cis women and are a danger to them. Don't do their work for them...

It fucking SUCKS playing their game. It feels like being baited into a no-win situation. But making yourself look like a traditional misogynist isn't an L you have to take. There are other approaches.

the more others talk about it, the more i let my brain open back up to it and think-- yeah, actually, why is it okay to tell trans guys that the only violence they experience is that of misdirected misogyny? like it's always some incidental thing-- like "because it's wrongly targeted, it doesn't hurt you. because it's misogyny, it's actually blasting past you and harming women as a block. they're using you to hold women back. but you are unharmed in the process."

even if that were true of all possible intent and aim... why is it perfectly acceptable to misgender one's experience of that pain and struggle? and let everything else without a name go unacknowledged like it isn't worth collectively working at. put another way: why is everyone so comfortable with trans men being hurt as women, but so profoundly uncomfortable with anything specific to Trans (integral space here) Men?

this crops up over and over as a footnote when it comes to BL/fujoshi, because some people will entertain that trans men do get harassed as well for what they make; transphobes/TERFs trying to remind them they're "just" straight women or "just" self-denying lesbians. but that's a pretty simplistic summary. i mean for one, it means all sides get to continue thinking cis women have at every point been the fanfiction vanguard WITHOUT any trans people, and that's just not true. but it also requires taking transphobes/TERFs at their word, and not interrogating anything deeper than that. certainly not interrogating your own thinking toward trans men.

if trans men are targeted for being trans men, that should matter too. otherwise it gives way too much credence to that TERF ideology, it prioritises their own stupid reasoning and excuses and intent over the person harmed. it's possible to be misogynist, and, also, hate trans men specifically, seek them out, and hurt them, on purpose, even if you "see" (??) or don't contest that they're men. it actually pays off, because the issues and experiences specific to trans men are a no-man's land (ha ha)-- here be dragons, a dark space on a map no one visits.

it of course translates to a revulsion of "masculinising." not revolted by the sacred vulva, and building strong communities of solidarity around women as an oppressed group. but those groups also don't prioritise trans women, especially if they're "non-passing" or just not considered up to par with the even more viciously strict beauty standards for transsexuals. there is a broad fear of Wrongness, and if barred from what community may offer, wrongness is life-threatening.

cis and trans people alike take serious issue with things like hair and fat, even. and they will create and recreate taxonomies of goodness and badness + unrelatability based on appearance. if appearance doesn't 1:1 match life experience, that unrelatability is met with hostility. it is a revulsion of what happens to a trans body and the way we describe our trans bodies and our attractions and the sex we have and how we talk about ourselves. when the body no longer resemble some fantasy of the familiar. the transsexual body and the person operating it fall into a completely incomprehensible territory in a society where non-normative bodies are unacceptable. and yet, the trans man (in this case) exists. there is so much andwringing around t-dicks and phalloplasty, fatness, fuckability-based respect that even retroactively alters what the rest of the community expects and accepts from you when it comes to your own life. it is egregiously simple-- egregious for many reasons, especially among people who do not have a perfect linear gender experience or living conditions or relationship to reality. these are all things anyone can experience. and there are certain things that do become patterns, and trans men are some of those affected in often similar ways. and so...

it isn't as if the rest of the world hears your decision and bends to you. and although love and support and solidarity is in no way familiar to my experience-- if love and support persist conditionally up until the moment of transition, i really do not think misogyny is the ultimate motivator.

there are plenty of people who aren't TERFs who don't like trans men. and they see and believe trans men as who they say they are, people who along with their communities agree they have done the important feminist work of undoing any misogynistic conditioning. there has to be language to describe what happens to trans men in these areas that are unknown to everyone else. it isn't meant to be language that works for everyone else. it isn't functioning on their behalf, but for the people within that group to describe their experiences.

or what. you just shut up? because it's nicer? prolong disconnect from community and support and inclusive + expansive language, and be deferential and passive? it's pretty fucked to assign a moral imperative to shutting down your pain and the instinct to communicate that pain. if there are patterns at work here, and if identifying them helps form unity and build solidarity, even if the language is "difficult" (and why wouldn't it be, for a complicated situation?) it's desperately important to acknowledge it.

otherwise you have to see people in such a rotten way to think it's like... subtraction from the whole. that each action takes from another and what motivates trans men is greed for some precious attention span-- and that speaking or just living comes with no risks to our person or community. you have to be so sheltered to think there's some objective reward sought after by trying to talk about transness. you have to dissolve all other marginalising factors. given what a fucking headache it's been to even attempt navigating this topic-- i think it's more likely that more people stand to gain from enforcing silence.

and certainly, it's to the detriment of building community. if there's no room for even the most "strange" and "exceptional" experiences then how much room is there really?

Even if you see this from trans and wlw people in your community, the idea that yaoi is historically by and for straight woman is transphobic and misogynistic. It's a terf, especially white terf talking point and has been so for decades. It's also a xenophobic idea that stems from things like the mindset that queer poc don't exist, or lgbt+ thoughts and identities are a recent development in non-white communities, and double standards for any art form created by people of color. Yes, fetishization still happens, but the discussion never reaches any conclusion when one side continues to hold onto disinformation and prejudice. Fudanshi didn't even exist to many western queers, even now they're erased from the conversation or demonized quite often. Anti-fujoshi/ fudanshi/ bl narratives have been debunked by fans and scholars alike. If you're open to other perspectives, start there, start questioning your own beliefs and don't be surprised at the amount of terf/ conservative ideologies the permeate queer space, regardless of identities ethnicity or age. I'm not a follower btw, apologies if I don't see your replies often.

I don't understand how that idea is transphobic, misogynistic and a terf talking point. Would you care to expand on that? I get how it could be xenophobic, which is why I always try to be careful in that aspect without being patronizing and speaking over eastern queer people. But I don't get how it's a conservative idea to point out it has generally been that way, especially in the past. Which, again, isn't necessarily a bad thing unless the content is fetishizing and has no purpose of promoting queer representation and rights. Is it because it feels like an attack on women who write and enjoy mlm stories? Is it because those women aren't always cis or aren't always women? Because I keep repeating myself, my stance is this: I don't mind that women write BL. Whatever. I consume BLs written by women, men, non binary people. What I do have a problem with is fetishization and when non queer people profit off harmful queer stories without ever advocating for lgbtqia+ rights.
