Fans crowded behind barriers, their cheers echoing through the terminal, but all Y/N could focus on was the pounding in her head. She kept her head down, her mask covering the lower half of her face. But she had to put on a smile.

It was her first public appearance since the hiatus. And it felt suffocating.

The months away had been necessary—life-saving, really—but they hadn’t prepared her for this. For the way the world hadn’t slowed down. For how the pressure came crashing back the second she set foot on familiar ground.

Her manager walked ahead, parting the sea of fans and reporters with practiced ease. Security flanked her sides, guiding her toward the waiting van.

“Take me out of the unit?”

They’d never agree. She was too valuable. Her return was buzz—an opportunity they wouldn’t let slip through their fingers.

“No,” Y/N murmured, her voice quieter than she intended. “It’s too late for that.”

Her manager didn’t push, but the concern was clear in her eyes.

Y/N’s fingers hovered over her phone again, this time over Taeyeon’s contact. The name stared back at her, a painful reminder of everything they hadn’t said.

Her thumb hovered, the urge to call, to text—to demand answers—gnawing at her. But what would that even accomplish?

But she already knew the answer.

Taeyeon was a coward.

And maybe… Y/N was tired of being the one to chase after her.

If SM wanted her back, if they wanted her standing beside Taeyeon again, smiling and pretending that nothing had happened—then fine.

She’d do it.

This time, Taeyeon would feel every bit of the distance Y/N had been forced to endure.

sooo i originally joined this fandom through twitter (mistake #1) and dipped because it was a toxic hellhole of cliques and shipping delusion.

tumblr was initially a safespace. and i love the like-minded friends i’ve found here. but for the past week, my inbox has been full of the most cruel and disgusting abuse i’ve experienced. i made this blog because i was tired of seeing people reduce nicola and luke into pawns for their shipping fantasies, then lash out when those real human beings didn’t act like fanfic characters. i’ve consistently called out hate — toward jake, toward antonia, toward nicola, toward luke. never once did i say anything cruel about any of them.

but apparently saying “hey, maybe spreading harmful rumours or harassing real people is...bad?” is cause for a firing squad now. dozens of faceless anons jumped into my inbox to tell me i’m scum. actual quotes include: – “a white man’s whore” (calling women whores in the 21st century! cute!) – “pathetic scum on earth” (ironic but ok) – comparing me to women obsessed with serial killers (????) – and, my personal fave: that i (a muslim, neurodivergent woman of colour) am “as privileged as the white man i stan.”

i'm not giving you the satisfaction of responding to ur pathetic little rants btw. i get it. something is missing in ur life so u feel purpose and power in anonymously abusing strangers online. ur purposeless and pathetic and i'm just another person u can take those frustrations out on.

but you’re not revolutionaries. you’re not woke. you’re just miserable cowards hiding behind grey icons, spewing venom at strangers online because your own life is so small and sad that bullying feels like a win. you're not deep. you're just pathetic. and no, you don’t hate luke. you obsess over him. you know more about his life than his IMDb page. that’s not hate — that’s just creepy parasocial lust rotting from the inside out.

Fans can respect that their favorite actor is dating someone, or has a girlfriend (or boyfriend), but they do not have to join the fan club of their significant other, nor do they have to love their relationship.

I've been a fan of plenty of celebrities who I knew were in crap relationships, and I didn't care for them. Eventually, they broke up, and I was relieved lol 😅.

If you're genuinely a fan of both of them, then that's fine. But if some of Austin's fans are *not* a fan of Kaia, that should be okay too!

Just because an actor is dating someone, it doesn't mean that now we all have to join the cult of their significant other and like them just because he/she is dating them. 🙄

It doesn't make you a "bad fan" just because you don't care for the girlfriend/significant other of your favorite actor. If you wouldn't be a fan of theirs if your favorite actor weren't dating them, then you don't have to be a fan of them now.

A lot of fans aren't against Austin having a girlfriend at all (most of us recall the Austin/Vanessa years). Most fans just believe that Austin can do much better in terms of a partner.

Hal/Barry/Iris for the ship ask game?

Thank you for the ask!! For Hal/Barry/Iris I do in fact ship it!

1. What made you ship it?

Tumblr was definitely the first thing to introduce the ship to me, but honestly just drawing the three of them together is what got me interested. They have such a fun dynamic and it’s really cool to draw :)

2. What’s your favorite thing about the ship?

Their dynamic is so interesting bc of what each of these characters bring to the table. Barry and Iris work well bc Iris is one of the few people who can get Barry off of his bullshit. Barry tends to prioritize others over himself, often to an insane degree, and Iris’s confidence and confrontational attitude often doesn’t allow him to do that. She def know how to handle her tone, and knows when to be kind or harsh to Barry, plus everyone else, making her excellent at cutting through bullshit. Hal and Barry function as two people who can relate to one another massively, and often can notice things in the other before they even notice it themselves. It makes them excellent at catching when the other is struggling, and their mutual respect and adoration is what drives them to bring problems up to help one another. Despite this, Hal can be flighty, especially when it comes to his own issues, and Barry can be so absorbed in his own guilt to recognize the people around him who care. I think both would benefit from loving someone who knows how to call them on their bullshit and actually force people to talk about issues.

Either way, adding Iris to Halbarry, or Hal to newsflash fixes a lot of issues that might become apparent in these relationships.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

I actually have two. First of all, I’ve never really found much content that I like of this trio. I haven’t read every single fanfic of it, but the ones I have don’t really spark my interest. The fan art tends to be a lot cuter, but something still always feels like it’s missing. This is not the fault of the writers or artists, it’s simply just my own taste.

That leads me to controversial opinion two, I think Hal/Barry/Iris/Carol is WAY better. I feel like adding Carol in fixes a lot of my problems, mostly bc I don’t like how sometimes Iris feels like she doesn’t have a ton of agency in the relationship, and for some reason, to me, her being in love with Carol really fixes it. The relationship doesn’t feel as lopsided with two people Barry really likes.

To end this off, while I do enjoy Hal/Barry/Iris, I do prefer a lot of other ships over it, but I still like and ship this one. It’s def not my OTP, but it has a lot of potential, and I wish there was more content of it so I could engage with it more
