She frowned, ears perked as she listened. It had been late when she’d started. No one in the village would be up at this hour, let alone hankering for a drink.

The doors stopped swinging, the soft whine leaving a quiet so profound, she wondered if she’d only imagined someone coming in, and had almost dismissed the whole thing as a figment of her imagination when she heard the sound of footsteps, walking across her bar. The old floorboards creaked under a calm gait, before she realised with a stuttering breath that they were headed towards the storeroom, but just before panic could seize her, she froze.

A little sketch of how Billy would (theoretically) look in my rewrite.

Like not immediately, the whole piercings, bad fashion and mullet combo happens way later on than what’ll be his first appearance.

But he’s half-Roma (more tanned than Wanda is because he actually goes outside sometimes), half-Jewish, though he is more in touch with his Jewish culture than his Roma culture. His style fluctuates often, but as his favourite superhero is a smidge bit edgy (and also his mother), he tends to lean more into that (hence the mullet and clothes). I would also imagine that he’d get tattoos if he thought his parents wouldn’t kill him for getting them done.

As a small contrast to my rewrite Wanda lore, it was Teddy that got Billy into piercings and all. Billy only ever gets his professionally done, though, because he loves Teddy but he would not trust him near his face with a needle.

The angst potential alone haunts me. How long do you think he waited for Ford?? When did it start to sink in that nobody was coming to save him, that nobody would miss him? Would anybody even want him back? How long did it take for his anger, his heartbreak, his grief to turn into acceptance and a belief that this was divine retribution? How long did he work, how many jobs did he take, how much wealth did he accrue, how many brushes with death did he have until he believed he’d “earned” the right to go home and see his brother?? Many such questions. I need to go deeper

the funniest meltdown ive ever had was in college when i got so overstimulated that i could Not speak, including over text. one of my friends was trying to talk me through it but i was solely using emojis because they were easier than trying to come up with words so he started using primarily emojis as well just to make things feel balanced. this was not the Most effective strategy... until. he tried to ask me "you okay?" but the way he chose to do that was by sending "👉🏼👌🏼❓" and i was so shocked by suddenly being asked if i was dtf that i was like WHAT???? WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY TO ME?????????? and thus was verbal again
