Did I tell you guys that I wrote over 2,000 words the other day analyzing Harry’s House and by analyzing it I mean giving my super subjective personal interpretations of the song alongside a list of my fav observations and parts of each song - cause I did - I did do all that

Ripples start to splash against the inside of your mug as you set it down on the coffee table that has been pushed aside for the evening to allow enough room for you and your husband. 

“Clearing the living room floor the second both kids are down and out?” Chan asks with a wiggle of his eyebrow. 

“Bit risky but I can work with this” he says while straining his neck and pulling his left arm across his chest in a stretch in preparation. 

You look up at him when a scoff falls from your lips, “ha yeah you wish. Now get the wrapping paper from the closet” 

“Please” you add with a sarcastic smile and sweet like honey tone. 

He blinked at you silently for a split second before he huffed out a big sigh, “Oh thank god. I don’t think my back could handle these hardwood floors like it used to” he finishes as he makes his way to the hallway closet. 

“Mmm unfortunately the only action these floors have been getting lately is spilled juice and probably some dusty cheetos the kids kicked under the couch” you joke as Chan meets you on the floor with wrapping supplies and gifts. 

A quiet laugh in agreement leaves his lips. 

“She’s gonna love this” Chan says with a grin so wide it meets his eyes. 

He’s holding up a Bluey plushie that plays a few catchphrases from the show when its paw is squeezed. 

“She better…. I’m running out of reasons why she can’t buy it every time we go to the store” you say as you cut wrapping paper big enough to wrap the doll and hand it to him. 

Your daughter had wanted this little plushie for months now, always asking to stop by the toy section whenever you visit your local department store. You quickly learned that simply telling her the store didn’t have anymore wasn’t gonna fly with her. She always found a way to swindle you into the toy aisles, finding the plushie every time. Distracting her with books or other small toys could only get you so far; luckily Christmas was only a few days away and you both would soon see the joy on her face when she opened her gift. 

“How do you even wrap these things??” Chan huffed out with a bewildered look on his face; his brows drawn tight and his eyes wide open. The piece of wrapping paper you had given him was creased all over, and covered in way too many pieces of tape that didn’t actually do anything to keep the paper together. 

A giggle started in your chest but you choked it down with a fake cough. Chan was used to being good at almost anything he put his mind to. 

Dancing? Easy.

Singing? No Problem. 

Writing thousands of unique songs that differed in their own ways? Piece of cake. 

Sports? Absolutely. 

Wrapping a small gift for his three year old daughter? Not so much. 

Carefully, you took the small doll from his hand and replaced it with a box of bath toys for your son. 

“Here, let me handle this…and you wrap these” you said nonchalantly as soon as you made the switch; immediately working on your new task at hand. 

Chan gawked at you with a goofy smile on his face, “You don’t think I can do it?...you’re demoting me to only wrapping boxes?” he laughed while feigning offense. 

“No no no!”, you waved off, “you’re just soooo good! Better than me! The best actually!” you rushed out while trying to contain your laughter but ultimately failing. 

Chan looked at you with pointed eyes, but had a wide smile plastered on his face the entire time. He looked like he was going to say something in retaliation but decided against it, letting out a small chuckle and shaking his head instead while he got to work on the box. 

Many presents later you were both feeling the ache deep in your lower back from hunching over on the floor. 

“Okay that's enough for me, I’m tapping out,” Chan said stretching his back with a yawn. 

You yawned and simply shook your head up and down in agreement, thinking about how you were too tired to even keep your eyes open. 

You got up and gathered all your wrapping supplies to store away. 

“Oh! Can you take all those and put them under the tree?” you asked him while pointing to the group of gifts. 

He hummed a quick mhm and started gathering them in his arms. 

“Make sure to put Bluey on top of the one of the taller presents so they can’t get to it” you called out as you made your way to your room. 

“Yep, got it” Chan quickly responded before placing all the presents down and making his way to follow you to your bedroom.

The next day went blissfully as usual; waking up way too early to cries before the sun is even fully out, only to finally get your son back down and you barely back in bed before your daughter barges in demanding French toast stat. 

Did you even have all the ingredients for french toast? 

You already got one kid handled, Chan could handle this one.

You lightly kicked him in the leg as he laid beside you to wake him up before you made yourself comfortable to fall back asleep. 

When you did wake up, you grabbed your son and met your husband and daughter in the living room, setting him down to crawl around the rug.

“Good morning love”, Chan greeted you with a kiss to your cheek and sliding his arms around your waist in a loose hug. 

You hummed a good morning back before resting your head against his chest. 

“My turn! My turn!” your daughter yelled entirely too close to your eardrum as she stood on the couch in an attempt to be as eye level as she could with you. 

“Coffee?” Chan asked with a smirk as he let you go and made his way to the kitchen. 

“Ohhh yeah” you answered before turning your attention fully on your daughter. 

She puckered her lips and stood on her tiptoes in an attempt to copy her dad’s previous actions. You bent down and she kissed your cheek, “Good morning, mommy!”, she giggled before flopping down on the couch. 

“Oh it is a good morning!” you smiled back to her before tickling her to get some hugs in. 

Chan met you back in the living room with your fresh cup of coffee as you both sat on the couch, watching your children play together in the early morning hours. 

Your son crawled towards the christmas tree and before you could get up to grab him he had already bumped into a few presents, causing one of them to go off. 

“Hello! Hehehe”  

The noise immediately caught your daughter's attention and her head snapped towards the tree before her eyes widened. You could see the wheels starting to turn in her head to try and make sense of what just happened when you looked over at Chan who was sporting a mortified look. Jaw hung open and downward, eyes widening and moving around the room at everyone’s faces. 

The damn Bluey doll had gone off and one of her most wanted presents was most likely spoiled now. 

“WHAT WAS THAT?” she rushed out, walking closer to the tree.

“Your brother!” Chan blurted out way too quickly before tightening his lip into a flat line, realizing what he just did. 

Your daughter stopped dead in her tracks and looked at the both of you. 

“What???” she asked again, her eyes darting between yours and Chan’s a few times. 

“He can talk??, “ she screamed, bewildered at the new information being thrown at her all too quickly, pointing at him and eyes wide as saucers.

You let out a huff of air and forced yourself to take a sip of your coffee, hoping to buy you some time, waiting for your brain to kick on. It was too early for this.

Chan looked at you waiting for you to come in and save the conversation but you had nothing. How were you supposed to convince a 3 year old that her 8 month old brother could now speak when he’s never done that before. 

You’re on your own here. You thought to yourself as your eyes met Chan’s again. His face still stuck in the same shocked expression. 

“Uhh…yeah..yeah…?” Chan tried to get out nonchalantly but it ended up coming out more like a question and high pitched tone, before clearing his throat. 

Your son had now crawled toward your daughter and started grabbing at her legs to get her attention. 

You needed a moment to think but your daughter would absolutely follow you wherever you went to…. Unless…?

You coughed into your arm dramatically, “ooooh mommy needs medicine, I will be right back” you said before quickly standing up and making your way to the hallway cabinets before she could stop you.

Even the possibility of being around cough medicine, seeing it with her own eyes, was enough to keep your daughter from following you. She was not about to risk having to take that, yucky grape stuff, as she likes to call it. 

Chan followed after you, staying in the open area to keep an eye on the two kids. 

“So our 8 month old is saying full words now is he?” you asked, raising your eyebrows when he got closer to you. 

“I panicked okay!”, he screamed in a hushed tone. 

“So you blame it on the baby?!” you asked in disbelief, a laugh starting in the bottom of your throat. You tightened your lips in an effort to stop the smile you knew was coming. 

“What else was I supposed to say it came from?” Chan asked with a strained laugh, “you were no help!” he accused, pointing his finger and narrowing his gaze. 

“I don’t know Chan! The TV? Your phone?” you huffed out off the top of your head and throwing your hands in the air.

“Hm. yeah that would’ve been good”, he said staring at the floor, realizing just how easy those would’ve been to explain away to a child. 

He stepped back from you to get a better look at your kids a few steps away. His brow furrowed so you stepped forward to see what he was looking at. 

Your daughter was sitting directly across from your son with a serious expression on her face, no more playing going on in sight. 

“What..what are you guys doing?” Chan asked loud enough for your kids to hear. 

Your daughter looked back at him, “Waiting,” she said matter of factly before refocusing her attention back on her brother. 

“Waiting foorrr?” Chan asked, raising his eyebrows as you both took a step toward them. 

“Him to talk again” she answered without bothering to even look at Chan this time, her serious gaze never leaving her brother's face. He was babbling and drooling while playing with the legs of her pajama pants. 

You both couldn’t contain the laughs that came from your mouths. Today was going to be a long day. 

You couldn’t wipe the smile from your face as you thought about your family’s antics. Never a boring day in the Bang household, but you wouldn’t have it any other way. 

“Hey Chan, what did you do with the matching talking Bingo we wrapped last night?” 

“Shit”

First of all 

Rodrick is a scorpio

So that makes a lot of sense right off the bat

If we look at how he’s portrayed 

Which is through Greg’s perspective aka the most unreliable narrator of all time

We see an angry, angsty, aggressive rebellious teenager

He’s viewed as lazy, selfish, and manipulative, while being simultaneously “dumb” and smarter than he lets on

I saw a post that said maturing is realizing Rodrick wasn’t a villain, he has shitty mental health and a lot of issues he’s not getting help for

And yeah

Yeah that’s what’s actually going on

First of all I think we can all agree he’s dyslexic

I think it’s also pretty safe to assume he has adhd

Maybe I am just projecting shut up

But I know for a fact this boy has had a monster energy dependency since he was Greg’s age

We know at this point that people with adhd and dyslexia (separately and together) often times have low self esteem for a variety of reasons

And my god there is no one with worse self esteem than Rodrick Heffley

He knows his parents think he’s dumb

They’re not good at hiding it

They might not have said it to his face but he knows

I get the sense that Rodrick isn’t really aware that all of his struggles are both diagnosable and treatable 

So until he learns that many years later 

He does actually think he’s kind of dumb

At least in terms of academics

But he can say at least he’s pretty clever

He definitely favors street smarts over book smarts yk

And that’s something that he relies on a lot

He’s taken the classic undiagnosed adhd + learning disorder rout of convincing himself school is stupid and doesn’t mean anything

Even though he actually gets really bad rsd

Especially through academic invalidation

So by the time he was around Greg’s age he’d already convinced himself that school is stupid and doesn’t matter

That no one else gets him

And what better way to back up that belief than fixating on rock and pop punk music???

In his eyes, all the greats had an up and coming early days “no one believed in our vision but us” era

That’s what Rodrick finds himself in now

So when his mom calls his hours and hours of drum practice noise and racket

And when his dad says all that rock and roll is melting his brain (even more than it is, is the implied rest of the sentence)

And when Greg refers to him as his “talentless brother”

It’s fine

Because the more people don’t believe him

The better his success will be

The further back he’s pulled, the further forward he’ll fly

Honest to god, green day’s discography is the reason he’s functional at all

If he can’t listen to american idiot or dookie or nimrod while doing it

He’s not going to do it

Pop punk and hot girls are the only sources of serotonin he’s been able to cling onto

That’s what’s keeping him going right now

A few more years he reminds himself

A few more years until he’ll have left and signed a recording contract and will finally get what he deserves 

I think he’s actually kind of scared of someone liking him

Like, actually liking him

The same way where he expects people to be disappointed in him but it’s okay because no one sees his creative vision like he does

He’s convinced himself that the girls in plainview probably aren’t going to get him

So besides his stint with Lyndsey

Which hurt way more than it was supposed to

And a fling with that girl from Isla de Corales that burnt out as hot and fast and ugly as he expected it to

He hasn’t really had any actual relationships 

Besides the occasional hook up or make out session at a party 

He doesn’t want to admit to himself that he knows if a girl actually liked him enough to really get to know him they’d see past the punk boy persona to how fucked up he is

And they’d get scared off

Because who wouldn’t be???

On a similar note 

His band mates may or may not be aware of this

But he’s kind of hiding all his good songs???

He keeps telling himself that it’s fine to just perform fluff and filler songs at first

Because once they get an audience

Once they get practice and a following

Once he knows the right people will hear him

The ones where he really actually has something to say

Because if he posts diper overlode online and it gets 5 views, who cares

But if he posts a song that’s all his innermost thoughts to the hardest drum beats and guitar riffs and bass solos he can possibly come up with

And it gets 3 views and a comment that says it’s shit

It would kill him

Nothing can make him stop making music

Except maybe that

So once he gets into a more accepting, less harshly critical environment

It will be way easier for him to start dropping better and better songs

A little positive reinforcement goes a very long way with him

So by the time that you finally stumble into his life

However that happens

Maybe you saw him at Heather’s sweet sixteen and actually thought he was really good

You hunted him down a while later to tell him

Hanging out during band rehearsals

Doing homework together

They just sort of mentally put you in part of his friend group/inner circle yk

Which is great because now you can basically come over and spend as much time together as you want without any questions 

It’s a pretty good way to gently fold you into his life

The way you’d tenderly fold whipped egg whites into pastry dough 

I do have some unfortunate news

Which is if you’re dating Rodrick

Greg will probably get a weird awkward crush on you too

It sort of comes with the territory 

Thankfully you have about one interaction with him every six months or so

All of which are by coincidence or accident

So it’s not really an issue

Unless you’re a babysitter or tutor or something

That’s when things can get messy

But hopefully that won’t be an issue

For now at least

Cause for now he just wants to spend time with you

He just wants to listen to music with you and drive around in his van and kiss your beautiful face

He knows shit won’t always be this easy

So he’s holding onto these good old days while he can

Because he knows these moments with you right now

random thoughts about sleep token as I listen for the thousandth time.

1. "choking up brain matter and make up" sounds like he went on a rampage the night before and ate people. now he's waking up and starting to remember what he did. this whole part is about transformation, kind of turning into a monster. "I need you to see me for what I have become"

2. "I was more than just a body in your passenger seat" sounds like possession or disassociation.

3. Vessel writes lyrics like some people write fanfiction. the certain phrases and choice of words that authors use and that feel familiar across different works, some of the lyrics feel like that.

4. "I'm caught up in her design and how it connects to mine" sounds like sex tbh

5. Every song has multiple layers. Underneath the drums or guitar or beat, the lyrics etc there's always another thread that sounds/feels sinister. Sometimes there's sounds that sound like voices or screaming or talking or laughter but you can't hear it clearly or understand the words.

6. "subatomic interactions if it's all good" also sounds like sex tbh, meeting someone on a molecular level

7. "it's blue light over murder for me" reminds me of the blue lights sirens of an ambulance, like there's so much blood and carnage that they think there's been a murder, whoever called the ambulance

8. "come now, bite through these wires" could either be: snares. the trap that suffocates animals or traps their feet so that they chew it off, can be known as a wire. Or these wires means like puppet strings, because he's awaking hell and killing gods, breaking away from fate.

9. the deep exhale at the end of chokehold just before it ends, is exactly the type of breath you'd let out if you were being strangled, or you know, choked.

10. Euclid could be directed at us, the listeners. It's the way "and you are all my symmetry," sounds to me. Like how he said the reverse is true, you think I saved you but in fact you saved me.

11. telomeres reads like fanfiction smut I don't know how to explain it. poetical, wistful, the longing the yearning but smut all the same.

12. "create, release. she just don't feel the same." yeah also sounds like fucking. sorry.

13. Higher feels directed to a parent or caregivers. Older generations often show that they believe their children owe them for looking after them. "each time we battle," it's difficult to cut ties from parents and you can fall back into the same cycles before you finally break free.

i remember i read this fic a while ago, and it had me in absolute tears. it’s so beautifully written and it really made me want to give the author a hug ❤️ it’s really painful and i felt so sorry for both harry and louis, my heart was aching for them the entire time i was reading.

can i say that this fic was fucking hilarious. i was laughing my ass off when louis got his bum stuck in that cave. i really loved the build of the tension in this fic, and the forced close proximity between the two of them. i’m always a sucker for that. the activities they did sounded like so much fun too, it was really entertaining to read.

oh the chokehold this fic has on me. i looped mirrorball for weeks after reading this. i always relate the lyrics to this version of louis. i love how inspired this fic was by the song, and how it all came together at the end. i also loved the slow build between louis and harry. i am a sucker for enemies to lovers. i told all of my friends about this fic when i finished it.

wow wow wow wow. i adored this fic. i loved louis’ internal monologue and how he “hated” harry for so long, only to fall for him. the concept of the fic was really well done and it’s such a unique idea as well. it came together beautifully and i absolutely sobbed when i finished it.

this fic was so good! i loved the scenery of it, and the relationship between louis and harry. i absolutely love angst, and this fic had a lot of it. so of course i enjoyed it!! i loved the plot twists too!! luke made me want to punch a wall. i loved harry, and now i really want a harry for myself. i loved the bakery he worked in. i’ve always wanted to travel or move somewhere like italy, so i really really loved this fic. some of the comments Giuseppe made were so funny, and they made me laugh too.

i conveniently read this around the time where we were learning about dreams and the brain in my psychology class. so i definitely think this helped me on my psych test lol. i really really loved this fic, and i loved that harry played the violin. i found it so adorable the way the boys met as well, it seemed very intimate. i loved the soulmate concept of it too, it was genius. i also loved luci as well, and how she had a story to her too. it was also beautifully written.

as someone who identifies as asexual, this fic really touched me. i needed to read this fic because mentally, it really helped me. i’ve struggled a lot with accepting my identity and i felt so close to harry throughout the entire fic. i was crying pretty much the entire time i was reading. i’m just so happy harry got to have a partner that supports and respects him. i could only wish that for myself one day. after i finished reading, i honestly looked at my identity and the world in a new, and brighter light. i just really want to thank the author for writing this fic, it’s truly touched my heart, and i’ll never forget it.

i remember i absolutely loved this fic. there was SO much angst and it was soooo good! i loved the dynamic between louis and harry, and how louis developed a crush on harry. i am also such a sucker for bakery aus! it was really well written and i loved the plot twist!! i have to reread this soon!!

if you like thrillers or creepy stories, i am on my knees and begging you to read this. this fic is probably in my top five favorite fics i’ve ever read over the years. it’s so fucking creepy!!!! i stayed up all night and read it in one go because i just could not put it down!! i had to know what happened next!! i was so stressed and scared reading this too, but in a good way. the plot is literal gold, and i would sell my kidneys to read this again for the first time. now that i’ve read it, i can safely say that i will never go camping! everybody needs to read this, it’s such an underrated gem!! i told all of my friends and i think even my mom about this fic, that’s how fucking good it is. read it.

okay, so you know when you’re reading something SO adorable that you have a warm ball swell up in your chest? that was my chest the entire time i was reading this fic. i usually don’t read fics with this kind of plot, but the art was amazing and i just couldn’t help myself! and i am so glad that i read it, too! it was SO fucking good, and i think i finished it in one go. it was so cute, and i laughed, cried, and smiled so fucking wide my cheeks hurt. this is such a comfort fic, and i definitely need to read it again soon!

this fic was really good and intense! i loved the supernatural elements of the story, and the fact that there was a mad man out to get louis lol! i loved how protective harry became of louis as well, there were so many intense moments that kept me on my toes. i read this one super quickly, and i would definitely read it again soon!!

i absolutely adored this fic. i loved the aspect of louis being demisexual, and how special and intimate his relationship with harry was. this fic is the reason olivia is one of my favorite one direction songs. it was beautifully written, and i need to read this one again too!

i always adore this author’s writing, but i specifically loved this fic in particular. the concept of the fic was absolutely incredible, and i loved how louis literally built harry. i wish i could do that to my soulmate lol. i loved the innocence harry had, and how louis had to teach him to do everything. the way harry fixed louis’ loneliness made my heart swell with happiness. the writing is beautiful. it’s truly an amazing fic, everyone should go read it.

i think this is probably in my top two favorite fics i’ve ever read. i’ve never read a fic so fast, and it just felt like i got lost in the story. this story was so fucking incredible to read, the angst was amazing. i loved the plot so much. i’ve read this story twice, and it was just as good the second time, maybe even better. there was this one description of harry, that still sticks with me to this day.

Louis rests his chin on Harry’s chest, taking the opportunity to admire him. His hair is falling across his face; his mouth hangs open slightly, his bottom lip pouting. Peach fuzz dusts his chin, upper lip, and patches of his cheeks. Louis gingerly slides his hand out of Harry’s loose grip. Careful not to wake him, he sweeps the hair off Harry’s face, tucking it behind his ear. He gently strokes the strong line of his jaw and then the slope of his cheeks. Harry scrunches his nose and snuffles; Louis withdraws his hand and holds his breath, fearing that he’s woken him. Harry’s face relaxes a few seconds later and Louis sighs in relief. He continues his exploration, keeping his touch feather-light, gently smoothing out the furrow between Harry’s eyes and tracing the shape of his brows.

this fic was incredible. i would sell my right foot to read this again for the first time, if i’m being honest. the plot and the supernatural elements of the fic were both amazing. i loved how connected harry was to louis, like he’s his own personal superhero. god, everything about this fic was absolutely amazing, please do yourself a favor and read it!! i recommend this to everyone i talk to.

this fic was soooo adorable! i love teacher fics so much! i read this one really quickly as well. i loved the rekindled romance between the two of them, and how harry absolutely melted around louis. it was absolutely adorable.

Pour Your Heart Out by @hrrytomlinson

after just finishing this fic for the second time, there’s no way i can’t not add it. this masterpiece gave me constant whiplash. one page i was sobbing, then the next i was smiling so hard that my cheeks hurt. it’s so beautifully written and louis’ character is the embodiment of the sun. i loved the soul mark aspect, it’s brilliant and so well executed. everything about this fic was incredible and so well thought out. harry’s character development made me so proud of him. i would stay up late because i couldn’t put this fic down, and my friend would wake up in the morning to me sending screenshots of adorable scenes and messages of me freaking out over this fic. please do yourself a favor and read this incredible work of art.

TVGATE 📺💖

1.) Glee- Ryan Murphy is my enemy and glee is unhinged but it is hands down my FAVORITE show of all time. I started watching it when I was in 8th grade and the chokehold it has on me to this day is unreal. Season one was lighting in a bottle and to follow it up with an even better season after that? Lea Michelle is also my enemy BUT s1 Rachel berry is so fucking funny. Glee is the reason I joined chorus in high school- like the impact glee has on me? Incredible. Just 10/10. I could say more but we will be here all fucking day. And ofc Santana is my favorite character and I hope Naya is resting easy right now 💖

2.) Sucession- This show ate my ass for weeks and the brain rot after I finished it is still going strong. I avoided this show for a minute bc hearing about it through osmosis was enough and the fans put me off. I started about a month or two after the finale dropped. Like fuck rich people and fuck most of these characters but goddamn do I love it. I blew through this show so quick bc the acting??? The dialogue! THE EVERYTHING 🥵👏 you just know that if there’s a party or a dinner or some kind of rich people bullshit event that it will be the most compelling shit you’ve ever seen. Boar on the Floor was so sadistic and evil and FASCINATING. Like- I wanna open these people up and examine them. I was a Kendall girlie during my watch and a Shiv girlie post-show. I will say if you wanna enjoy this show just avoid.. most men’s opinions on it. I’ve heard the most shit takes on this show it’s ridiculous. It definitely lives up to the hype.

3.) Lovesick- Guys 🥺 if you’re gonna watch anything from this list watch this. I watched it when I was on a huge Netflix deep cut kick and WOW. Very lighthearted and funny romcom about a dude that finds out he has chlamydia and goes down the list of his old partners to tell them they need to get checked. All of these characters are so lovely and you just wanna root for them. It only loses points because it’s unfinished. I would’ve loved to see where things go for Dylan and Evie 🤧

4.) The Haunting of Bly Manor- INCREDIBLE. Mike Flannigan puts his whole pussy into into everything he makes. The write is incredible, the mystery is so well thought out. Every loose end is tied up just enough to let the viewer still have room to speculate. Definitely not scary in the way that Hill House is but everything else makes up for that. The cast??? I fucking love Rahul Kohli and I’ve loved that man since iZombie. Victoria Pedretti is the love of my life and the way she plays Dani? The range she has to go from Nell in Hill House to Dani is so sick. I just adore her. And of course T’Nia Miller as Hannah? She’s the clear standout. I need to see her in everything I’m BEGGING. The Hannah episode is truly the best episode of the entire season. This is a tragedy through and through and your heart will break for every single one of these characters. Just a gorgeous piece of television 💖

5.) Euphoria (Season One + Specials)- Again, Sam Levinson is my enemy but goddamn is season one SO GOOD. The aesthetics, the acting, the characters, the cinematography!? When Sam has a passion project and a story in mind he can truly make magic. Also putting Zendaya on your vision board and then actually landing her to be in it is so dope. The Trials and Tribulations of Trying to Pee While Depressed aka S1Ep7 is my favorite episode by FAR. So real, so funny, so compelling. Everyone showed up to set that week to make MAGIC. I don’t make a ton of fanart but euphoria had my ass so hooked that all I wanted to do was draw Rue and I sure as hell did. I was looping All for us for MONTHS. It’s still the #1 song on my Spotify TO THIS DAY. The special episodes during Covid were also so well done. Season 2 is dog shit so it isn’t included in this but rip to Angus Cloud because he was so special and the clear highlight of season 2 as Fez. (I could watch him beat up Nate Jacobs all day 🥳)

A huge honorable mention for the shows A Young Doctor’s Notebook, Chewing Gum, & The Bear (s1) because holy shit 💖. The first 2 are both absurd comedies from my Netflix deep cut era.

AYDNC stars Daniel Radcliffe as this doctor that gets addicted to morphine in the backwoods of 20th century Russia. It’s a dark comedy and a wild ride. I only watched it once and I have no idea if it’s still on Netflix or not but if you have nothing to watch and you want something that’s pretty out there or you’re a fan of Daniel’s comedic acting you’re in for a TREAT.

Chewing Gum stars Michaela Coel as Tracey. So 👏 Fucking 👏 Funny. The writing is incredible and I can’t speak highly enough about the way Michaela drops you into the world for a wild ride. Tracey’s pretty much in the end of that awkward transition period between your teens and adulthood. Just a really hilarious coming of age story that DEFINITELY would’ve benefited from a true final season. If you like Michaela Coel you will like this. She also has a show called I May Destroy You and I can’t wait to sit down and watch it. I’ve heard all good things 💖

The Bear is way newer and s2 didn’t drop that long ago so I won’t go too in-depth about it like everything else but INCREDIBLE SHOW. If you like food and sad white men and just- EVERYTHING about Ayo Edebiri then you’ll love this. Season 2 isn’t my favorite but Season One?? This show makes me miss living in a city. I just 💖💖 I can’t recommend it enough. Jeremy Allen White’s arms are reason alone to watch. I’d let that man [redacted] my [redacted] for hours like he makes me UNWELL he’s so gorgeous.

Currently reading: Actually shamefully little. My main focus has been on Glass Mask, which has fully captivated me. But I've been trying to pace myself with it because it's so good that I almost don't want to burn through it all. Otherwise I just read all of Sensei wa Koi wo Oshierarenai the other day and started catching up with Cipher Academy, Mahou Shoujo Risuka, and Four Knights of the Apocalypse again since I was varying degrees of behind on all of them.

Currently watching: In terms of seasonals, with my friend I've been watching Dungeon Meshi, Majo to Yajuu, and Four Knights of the Apocalypse. And then on my own I also keep up with Sousou no Frieren, Urusei Yatsura Season 2, and I'll be starting Wonderful Precure! once the subs are out for it. As for older series I've been alternating around with watching: Yawara!, Kodomo no Omocha, Touch, Futari wa Precure, and rewatching Creamy Mami.

I also started rewatching Penguindrum with the same friend since we finished our Utena rewatch (and then we'll do Yuri Kuma and Sarazanmai subsequently.) And very importantly, soon I'll be watching Revue Starlight -LIVE #4- Climax with themt oo. Wondering maybe if the concerts are worth doing too ????

Currently obsessed with: Unsurprising answer (probably) but Utena has again been the #1 thing in the front of my brain since watching the musicals for the first time then rewatching the anime. The Mikage brainrot is especially back at dangerously terminal levels I'm afraid. But just in general I've really lost impulse control and have lately been building my Utena doujinshi and merch collection.

Outside of that, Revue Starlight still has me in a chokehold since I first finished it (and the Lives only are adding to it) and I've been getting back into my Monogatari era with Off & Monster Season announced. More largely back into just being utterly obsessed with all of Nisioisin's works.

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Oof in general I usually stick to happy endings so there hasn't been a ton of angsty endings! But I once wrote a fic exploring a character navigating the aftermath of the sudden death of his wife. It ends with him bonding with a woman in a bar who had also lost her husband, and they dance together and while it's nice to have some sort of companionship again, there's an unspoken agreement that nothing and no one would ever compare to their late spouses. (Based off the song Ghost of You by 5SOS, specifically the last line!) I don't usually write major character deaths, and I actually ended up taking that one down because it was too sad for me haha.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? The rest of my fics pretty much all have HEAs because at my core that's what I enjoy most haha. But my favorite and probably fluffiest ending is Fire Red and Ocean Blue.

Do you get hate on fics? I don't remember ever getting any hate! *knock on wood*

Do you write smut? What kind? I do not, but I always enjoy reading a good smut fic!

Do you write crossovers? No, but I love AUs or fics based off of other books/shows/movies!

Have you ever cowritten a fic before? I've attempted to, a loooong time ago when I was first getting into fanfic. Nothing ever came of it though, we were both, like, 12 so it fizzled haha. I have no idea where that person is today but I hope they're doing well!!

What WIP would you like to finish, but doubt you ever will? Back when s1 of Outer Banks came out I started working on a Jiara one night stand fic and got about halfway done. I still think about it often, but too much has happened in s2 and 3 it just wouldn't make sense anymore and I'd basically have to start from scratch.

What's your all-time favorite ship? This is a tough one! My oldest and most beloved ships will always be Romione and Percabeth. But no ship has ever, and may never again, have me in a chokehold quite like Juke did during the height of my JatP hyperfixation. So one of those three! 😂

What are your writing strengths? Ooo I love a good theme or motif or analogy and bringing everything back around full circle. It makes my little perfectionist virgo brain very happy haha.

What are your writing weaknesses? Sometimes I'll rush through the little details just to get to the main plot points. I constantly have to remind myself to slow down, a sort of "stop and smell the roses" if you will, and set the scene or create unique little character details to make my fics more descriptive.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in a another language for a fic? If it's needed it's needed! I usually will copy/paste and look up the translation if I need to.

First fandom you wrote for? Glee haha. I used to be OBSESSED.

Favorite fic you've ever written? I feel like this answer changes depending on my mood haha. Right now I think it'd have to be Been Counting My Blessings Thinking This Through, but that could totally be recency bias haha. I am very proud of it though!

What fic would you want to rewrite someday? I wrote this PJO (Tratie) fic called Rivers about 10 years ago and to this day the idea behind it is probably one of my favorite ideas I've ever had for a fic. When I reread it now, I can't help but see the writing of a 15 year old girl who had no idea what she was talking about and was unable to execute it in the way I wanted to in my mind haha. I always tell myself I'm going to rewrite it, and maybe with the show coming out soon, it'll inspire me to!

Aka Roman X Youngblood X Noise

This ship has me in a chokehold so here we are

Let’s not lie to ourselves here, all 3 of them are absolute dumbasses (before anyone even attempts to say Youngblood isn’t a dumbass, while I agree he has the most brain cells of the group I’d like to remind you all that he was also stood talking to a door for 15-20 minutes before seeing there’s a door handle.) (Also if anyone tries to tell me Noise isn’t an absolute thembo, respectfully you’re wrong😂 He is the embodiment of a dumb smart person and would roast the shit out of Roman for doing something dumb but would then immediately go and do something just as stupid). Now because they’re a group of himbos, it took them a while to get together. As they all started to develop feelings, Roman didn’t wanna say anything because he could tell that Youngblood and Noise have a whole history that he didn’t wanna get in the way of. Meanwhile Noise saw how close Youngblood and Roman had become and didn’t wanna get in the way of that or complicate an already complicated situation. In the end Youngblood confessed first after getting over his whole “dear god why did I have to fall for those idiots?!” Thing😂

Roman and Youngblood introduce Noise to Reston. Needless to say, Noise was a bit overwhelmed at first as he’s typically not great with new people. Him and Youngblood did almost get into a fight with Fast Timmy on the first day which Roman had to stop. However, the village did end up liking them. Noise specifically formed a really good friendship with Samuel, something that absolutely horrified Youngblood. When having a meal with the family, Aunt Patty (not very subtly) kept whispering to Roman about how much she loves his partners and Roman just smiles and agrees

Ryker was very wary when they started dating. He had no issues with Roman being gay or polyamorous. The exact opposite really, he was extremely supportive. His issue came from Youngblood and Noise both being bards. It was especially tricky for him to accept Noise as he’d at least talked to Youngblood somewhat and gathered that he’s a decent person. He also trusted him slightly more because he’d run from the bard collage. Noise however is a different situation as they’re literally first chair and have a complex history when it comes to Roman. He’s also got reason to be a bit wary of Youngblood again since Youngblood used to be first chair and has hurt Noise before, both via the fire incident and by leaving. But over time Ryker begins to warm to them both and trusts that neither of them are going to hurt Roman. The 2 of them also help Ryker work on some of his bias when it comes to bards.

Dice Rollingstone/Mike Ro’phone has been simping for Noise since they first saw him perform and does flirt with Noise at every given opportunity. Noise is just tried and doesn’t really care because he’s not interested and nothings going to happen so whatever. Meanwhile Youngblood and Roman be like “I swear I’m gonna beat his ass for flirting with our partner!” “Damn, that was kinda sweet” “Roman!” “I mean how dare they!” Dice/Mike knows not to take it too far tho. They’re not a total asshole after all. A lot of the flirting is more like “in another life my love😘” while Noise is like “what? Ok…?”

Noise and Youngblood sing together a lot and teach Roman more about music. Roman sometimes joins in with their singing as well. Noise and Youngblood will also write songs for the others and have collaborated on songs for Roman which they perform for him.

When Noise is having a bad dysphoria day, Roman will initiate a cuddle puddle that Noise pretends to hate but secretly loves

Noise is very short and hides it by wearing his boots. Youngblood absolutely (affectionately) bullies him for this and Roman tries to make it better but always inevitably makes it way worse😂

Youngblood and Noise always have to wake Roman up in the morning because they’re both early risers and Roman would sleep in till the afternoon if he could. But if they’re gonna be going on missions, that’s not exactly gonna work.

If anyone dares insult one of the people in the polycule, the other two can and will absolutely beat their ass. Be it making fun of Roman being a bit clueless, someone calling Noise rude or a jerk or someone mocking Youngblood’s caution, best believe it’s on sight

I love these sm they feel like getting little letters from a pen-pal. You know I tend to ramble when I answer asks but I worry that it might be discouraging to those thinking of sending me asks, so I'll try to keep this below book-length.

I'm doing great. Working on a director's proposal for school right now which is like, one of my favorite things /gen. And though it's gotten cold again in NY we're still having very sunny weather so you've caught me in a good mood as I'm writing this.

I do listen to a lot of Musical songs. But I also love rock and alt music, or at least that's what Apple Music says I'm always listening to. I love Hozier and Queen especially but there are still plenty of stragglers on my playlists from my Imagine Dragons and Lemon Demon phases. I'm trying to get into more music by The Cramps and They Might Be Giants. Oh and Will Wood, he's had a bit of a chokehold on my brain since one of my friends recommended 2econd 2ight 2eer for my Orin Scrivello playlist, and also since I first saw a picture of him and thought he was some sort of rad, punk rock drag king. oh and that Orin Playlist has also sent me on a bit of an Elvis kick. “I know, I know, I’ve dealt with my fair share of treasure hoarders before. And I’ll keep my eyes peeled for them.” You’re currently packing up your supplies for your expedition to look for fruits until a merchant comes to give you a heads up for what’s to come during your journey. By how strained his voice is, you can tell he’d stumbled upon a treasure hoarder before.

“Just, please be careful.” He pleaded.

You pulled up your backpack and adjusted it a bit, then gave the merchant a little nod and wave before walking away. It was oddly silent in Liyue, due to the light rain of course.

Nobody decided to go out in weather like this for it’s also accompanied by some fog, making it harder to see your surroundings. You find it understandable but you wanted to gather fruits to eat. No matter how intense the weather conditions are you needed to find something to eat because you are low on sustenance. And something small as a fruit should be good enough to satisfy your palate.

As you’re striding past the few buildings a figure materialized to the side, hiding from view. They have their arms crossed and a smug smile plastered on their face.

“Perfect.”

Walking through the outskirts of Liyue you’re looking around to find any fruits to eat since you’re in the mood for sweet things. The sweet and plump fruit digging into your teeth, the freshness, how ripe it is. Your mouth almost watered just thinking about it. As you were daydreaming about delicious fruits your eyes came across a Sunsettia tree.

“Looks like my dreams came true.” You said to yourself. You ran up to the tree to grab a Sunsettia. You practically drooled at the fruit because of how beautiful it looked.

As you were about to take a bite out of it you heard bantering and sounds of a struggle in the background. You quickly hid behind the tree with the fruit still in your hand and cautiously looked over to see what the commotion was about.

You see a woman with sapphire blue short-length hair with a white-furred coat hung around her shoulders resembling a cape. Her attire is a dark bodysuit decorated with silver details padded all over with a blue overcoat to top it off. Having several accessories accompanied with the attire as well. You thought she has a unique fashion sense so you made a mental note of it.

She’s holding a treasure holder in a chokehold with what looks to be a blue string attached to her glowing blue bracelet. You’ve never seen her around, but seeing the way she dealt with that filthy treasure hoarder you think she’s nothing bad.

“Someone revealed my plans to you in advance,” She grimaced with a cold glare striking right through him. “And you didn’t think to run?” She released her grip letting the man fall harshly to the damp ground.

Never mind. You’re feeling mixed emotions. You’ve never seen someone so intimidating, you’re glad you weren’t in his shoes. Otherwise.. Before you could think of anything else you’ve noticed another hoarder near you, attempting to snipe the woman.

When you were about to stop him the woman seemed to notice before you did. Because she used the hoarder she just put in a chokehold as a shield to deflect the arrow and threw him in another direction.

The man, who attempted the misconduct, chose to flee from the scene before anything happens to him. Now you’re just in awe. She handled this swiftly without a sweat. It’s like she has a sixth sense.

The woman dusted herself off and did a hair flip. She looked in your direction, now locking eye contact with you. You, not expecting the contact, dropped your fruit and tried to act as normal as possible.

“Oh! I’m sorry for uh, standing here. I promise I’ll forget whatever I saw and I’ll be on my way.” You turned around, about to walk away. But was caught in that same blue string you’ve seen. Forcing you to stay right where you are. What’s different about it was that it’s attached to your wrist instead. You slowly turned around to see that same woman. Walking up to you in a leisurely manner.

“Now, I’m well aware that you’ve been here all this time. To gather some fruits, is that correct?” She questioned.

“Uhh yes! Yes, I was trying to find some fruits to eat.” You replied.

“In this weather?“ She chuckled. “You could catch a cold.”

You flinched. “Well, I had a reason to go out here. I was low on food and all and most of the stores back at Liyue are closed and—“

As you were rambling away the woman’s eyes went towards your dropped sunsettia. She released your grip and went to pick it up. She turned to you and reached her hand out to you with your fruit. Her light emerald-green eyes, again locking with your own.

“Hm.. How about we make a deal. I’ll let you go, with your little fruit. And I’ll continue to handle my business. We’ll pretend this occurrence never happened.”

You perked up. “Okay, deal.” She handed you your fruit and gave you a small smile. “Wait- what’s your!-“

Before you could finish your sentence she walked away, dissipating from your view. “name..” You looked down at your fruit, seeing your reflection of it due to the rain. ‘She seems secretive, but at least she’s nice. I’m not going to question further though.’ You thought to yourself. You turned around walking the other direction, with this lingering thought in your head saying: ‘but that’s something you don’t see every day.’

UNFORGIVEN ALBUM REVIEW

i have so much to say about these tracks y'all the wait was worth it it always is when it's with them!! UNFORGIVEN as a title track slaps i can't overstate how amazing this turned out thank you nile rodgers this is incredible i adore the beats though i wish that for the "unforgiven girls" part, the vocals were stronger in volume and impression bc it's SUCH a hype section i can already imagine ceremonies starting with that exact part!! the melody just evokes that feeling if you know what i mean?? and yunjin's grungy voice compliments this song and its message so so well. also kkura's deep voice?? she is an icon she has always been the moment but oml zuha's wings and her lines are SO good i won't even start talking about chaewon bc y'all know how i feel about her gosh she never ever disappoints. now for manchae oml she has come so far from fearless and she's getting better and better each comeback and she's starting to solidify her presence on stage im so excited for five years down the line how she's going to turn out!! the choreo snippet from knowing bros had already surprised me so much i love love love their choreos and this one has to be one of my top threes?? anyways not to get too deep into this so im going to just keep it like this and move on. overall 9.5/10

NO-RETURN (INTO THE UNKNOWN) — the bass!! they have a signature feel-good sound to their tracks similar to this you just want to get up and jump or dance around with a smile on your face. the saxophone is that a saxophone in the chorus that took me off guard in the best way really. the brass is so cnncncbc!! chaewon and yunjin carry the vocal heavy parts and they do it amazingly like they may not be the strongest vocalists ever but they're strong in their own ways that fit le sserafim's sound so well!! overall 9/10

EVE, PSYCHE & THE BLUEBEARD'S WIFE — i know a club song when i hear one despite not ever being in one 😔😔 the beat im salivating this is my three am hallucinating dancing in the dark in my own room type of song i swear to you the verses after the first chorus has me in a chokehold. the things i would do to get to listen to this in a concert setting and ascend with the bridge and then the drum pads that come in right after like stfu. overall 9/10

FEARNOT (BETWEEN YOU, ME, AND THE LAMPPOST) — i just started writing a small fic based on this song and its vibes!! this makes me feel all sorts of things and the lyrics are straight out of a heartwarming story. this is one of my most favourite songs from this album. it's so atmospheric with the electric guitar building up to the chorus and the drum beats that kick in and their vocals. the melody is beautiful and i just can't get over the vibes. i cried while i first listened to this half an hour ago actually ;-; i don't have any single thing to complain about in this song. "i go where you go" line being given to chaewon was an amazing decision because her voice is so pure and it felt like i was pulled into another world for the brief moment she sung with the background going silent :') i think this will be one of my most listened to songs on spotify this year. overall 10/10

FLASH FORWARD — this is exactly my vibe i listen to these kinds of songs everyday all day it's just so vibey and you can strut playfully to this song down the street and sway and jam all you want and it feels like flowers of all bright colours are blooming all around you as you go!! it's like it brightens up the world around each step you take :< it's just feel-good. overall 9/10

FIRE IN THE BELLY — when i say hot damn i want to shake my hips and call my latina friends and have them listen to this. the chorus makes something in my chest feel so full with life!! reminds me of my childhood especially the olé olé olé in the background chants ugh im a little tired from all of the jumping and screeching i did within the last hour so my brain is slowing down just know that it's overall a 9/10 for me for this too

CONCLUSION i love them they occupy a large spot in my heart i can't ever dislike any song they release and i know it seems like im giving way too many compliments but i can't help it idc if it's subjective they just make good ass music ‼️

☁️ - What made you choose your username?

I love this one, and I finally get to drop my username lore! This is actually quite a bit of history, so buckle up.

As a child, I was obsessed with Lassie, which is something that not a lot of people seem to really know for some reason. Anyway, my Lassie is actually split between the 1994 and 2005 movies, although I only saw the 1994 version later in my childhood and grew up with the 2005 one.

This obsession was so much so that whenever little me played make-believe, I would call myself Lassie and, well, it just kind of stuck and wouldn't go away. So when I eventually joined the internet at a once-questionable age(which started out fine because I was only using educational sites, but I still ended up on Discord just under the age requirement a couple of years later XDD)

At this time, "Lassie" for some reason morphed into "Lasspeep" and "Lassie Peep" - I think this was because of my parents, but I have no idea why XD So those variations were my usernames as I started to use the big scary internet. Eventually I did drop "peep", but Lassie has such a chokehold on me that I still use it, especially on Discord.

Fast forward to about a year or two ago, and I was looking for a name with more oomph behind it for my profiles on Tumblr, AO3 and FF.net. I had been going by Kit-Kat-of-Midgard, which I didn't really like, and so I started trying out a lot of things - username generators, random word lists, etc, but nothing was clicking. Then in a stroke of inspiration, I decided to go back to my roots, as it were. I used to use Google Docs as a kind of social media before I joined Discord, and to differentiate between the people in the group, we all picked colours and fonts to type in. Mine was cornflower blue, and that led me straight to the cornflower. While I was on that topic, I found its family name, Asteraceae, and that piqued my interest, but it still wasn't quite right. When I kept reading, I came across the order Asterales, which IMMEDIATELY made me go, "yep, that's the one."

So I had the base, and at some point I shortened it to simply Asteral. I really loved that, but I also wanted a second part, to get a message across that showed more of who I am. This one was a LOT easier, I have to say. I'm Irish, so I decided I'd go for an Irish word, and the struggle was just to figure out what word that would be.

SO I grew up being brainwashed into loving the band a-ha(I still love them), and it was a known fact that my favourite song of theirs is Butterfly, Butterfly. So my brain gremlins picked up my last remaining braincell, and translated "Butterfly" into Irish, which Google Translate(I don't speak Irish, sorry) told me was "féileacán". So, boom. Asteral Féileacán. Unfortunately, for the most part, the sites I'm on don't allow me to include the fadas, so it shows as Feileacan instead. Rest assured that the correct way is lurking somewhere behind there! But that's the admittedly long-winded explanation behind my usernames and why they're connected by a string.

Oh. Oh no. I have several email accounts... in total, I have 337 unread emails spread out across four different emails, though they're mostly from automatic mailing lists from YouTube or AO3. My professional email account is paid much more attention, so it has no unread emails. >:) Rest assured that I will now be clearing out all my emails.

Theatre. I'm having a lot of fun engaging in theatre for the first time in my life through King Lear - I know I won't shut up about it, but I'm honestly really excited, and rehearsals are honestly the highlight two days of my week.

My writing spark. Writing has become fun again, and because of that, I've been able to post what I'm working on with less fear. This is huge for me because I stopped posted for years, and even though I was still working on things, I wasn't working on them in a capacity that was satisfying to me. I'm doing much better now, and a lot happier with what I'm doing.

Being connected outside of the internet. I have to say that this past year('23, so far '24) has been amazing. I got the chance to meet people IRL and make friends, I've been changing my very hermit-like habits and getting out more, and while it hasn't always been easy and I'm still struggling a lot with numerous things, I think I'm in a better place than I would have been two years ago. <3
