age
age is a very complicated matter within systems, but i feel like on important thing to say is that BODY AGE COMES FIRST. i do not care if you're both the same age alter-wise, if your body ages are illegally different (adult and minor, ect) then you should not be dating. yes alter age can sometimes affect the maturity of alters but it differs from system to system and body age should always come first before you start to bring up alter age / consider it

y'know what? I'm in a mood have a non-endo related syscourse post
alter age and alter maturity aren't the same
what we mean by that is that some alters might be older than the body but they may be much closer to the mentality or maturity of someone younger than the body and vice versa
blanket statements like "littles (or alters under (blank) age) can't consent" just aren't gonna be true for every system or for every alter in one given system, just because some littles can't consent and some older alters can doesn't mean that's how all of those alters are
it's up to a system to decide what alters can consent and what alters can't, based on how said alter is, not others and not just purely based on alter age
tl:dr alter age and body age are different, it's up to individual systems to decide what alters can consent
(consent is not just sexual it includes other big decisions as well)

System Age Roles
[ There are no right or wrong ways to identify with these terms! Names with * next to them are the original names, feel free to use these, but if you prefer something more distant, use the second name! ]
*Alder / AnnualAge :
When an alter ages year by year, however not on the body's birthday. This may present as yearly changes, mental changes, a mix of both, or something adjacent.
*Age-Sticky / Age-Stuck :
Similar to age-slide, however, the alter tends to stay "stuck" at a certain age for a long period of time before getting "unstuck" and shifting to another. There is no definite time one might stay this age, or it may come in patterns.
*Age-Hazy / Age-Fog :
When an alter feels connected with a group of ages instead of a single age. These ages can be vast, or only a small group. At times the age might feel more specific or completely uncertain.
*Age Dissociated / Age Disconnect :
When an alter of a certain age/ages feels disconnected with their age. There may be a reason [ coming out of dormancy to a way older body, going through some trauma, etc ] or it may be sudden with no explanation.
*Age Advancing / Continuous Age :
When an alter ages with the body. They do not have to be the same age as the body, but just gain a year as the body does - typically on the body's birthday.

literally just let alters have their joy and whimsy/silly
although this adult alter acts like a child, you have no right to and should not treat them like one.

It feels really weird being an adult alter in a minors body. While the body is 17, I, a fictive and protector who is 24, feels...really old. Sure, it's only 7 years, and I'm not the oldest, but I'm close to it. Most of the other alters are 12, 15, 17, or have a non-specific age, but only 5 of us are older than 20. It just feels really, really weird.
Oof yeah, we definitely feel this! A few of our parts are older than our body, and many of us are much younger. As we get older, that age difference becomes less of a big deal for our older parts, but much more stressful for our littles.
We’re sure this is a problem that lots of system members face in all kinds of systems! Just one of the intricacies of being plural. We hope things get easier for you as time passes, though! Wishing you and your alters the very best in your future!

Alter age flags
Infant or baby and toddler alter/little
Child alter/little/syskid
Adolescent alter/middle/systween and systeen
Adult alter/big/sysadult
Elder or senior alter
No particularly meaningful colors behind these, I mostly just based the baby and child alter flags off of the colors that stuff made fo baby and kids are. The rest are mostly just supposed to look like version "aged" of the first 2

We always talk about how autistic adults are adults, and that's true. but shoutout to the autistics that :
age regress
pet regress
don't feel human
are age stunted by trauma
who feel like a teen/child for whatever reason
who want to be a child again
age sliders in a system
littles in a system
middles in a system

can anyone explain to me how it's wrong to date a person who is bodily your same age? because ppl are saying if they have an alter that isn't an adult that means you cant date them? are these systems doomed to never date?.. because if you date someone it is their whole self, so would you have to stop talking to them if their alter starts fronting?
it really depends. Body age comes first of course, but alter age can sometimes matter. It depends on the systems, for some of them alter age genuinely means the maturity of those alters, for others it's just a thing the alters identify with I guess? So it depends on the system and their personal preference, but again body age always has to come first.

Anyone else go through the age regression to system pipeline.
I (host) used to think that I was an age regressor... But it was actually child alters fronting and me having a grey out after.
Either way our littles loved it cuz they were allowed to front and do childish things in a safe environment!!
Love to child alters and the agere community
