I've been thinking about something a lot lately. That games, all games, feel like a complete waste of time and energy.
But I love games. Not because they're wasteful, but because they're fun. Humans need to play. It is hard coded into us.
But I also hate the idea of wasting time and energy and resources. It is repulsive and it honestly makes me hate myself a little.
But rather than live a horrible, boring, efficient life I play games anyway. But I play horribly complicated and absurdly layered and time consuming games. I play games that take a million steps to do anything interesting or that are absurdly crunchy like D&D because the wasteful feeling takes longer to process that way. I don't feel like I'm wasting time when I'm pouring through rule books and wikis and watching gameplay to learn things. I don't feel wasteful until I hit the end game, and then I have to confront the reality of what I've done; when I have to acknowledge that I've spent 300 hours figuring out how to properly automate and mass produce a hamburger in a Minecraft mod pack or how to lose on purpose on the first turn in a game of M:tG or built my fifth stardew valley farm that is entirely full of big sheds with planter pots and pineapple seeds and perfect retaining soil. And then I feel a little repulsed by what I've done.
Bug the beauty of it is that I can start a new game and do the whole thing over again and have fun for a little while longer.

Vlad the Impotent
In a display of democratic prowess that would surely leave the Founding Fathers speechless, Vladimir Putin has once again "triumphed" in an election that was as competitive as a one-horse race. The sheer unpredictability of the outcome must have kept the Russian populace on the edge of their seats, in a state not unlike the fear experienced by American citizens who confront the rising tides of far-right rhetoric and policy within their own borders.
Let's take a moment to marvel at the robustness of Russian democracy, where the will of the people is so consistently aligned with just one man's vision. Indeed, the harmony between government action and public sentiment is so seamless that one might wonder if there's any need for opposition at all. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Americans grapple with their own political spectacle, observing the flirtation between mainstream politics and far-right ideologies, a dance that stirs both fear and fascination in the heart of the democratic discourse.
In this grand theatre of the absurd, where autocrats are cloaked in the veneer of electoral legitimacy and democracies flirt dangerously with authoritarian tendencies, one can only stand back and applaud the performance. Bravo, Putin, for another masterful win in the great game of democratic charades, and hats off to America, for providing the perfect backdrop of far-right drama to complement this global narrative of power, fear, and irony.

I don't trust a country that funds an apartheid illegitimate state, had people creating a petition in 2020 to officially declare the KKK as a terrorist organization, and considered Nelson Mandela a "terrorist" until 2008, to tell me who's a terrorist and who's not. I don't trust a country that's built on colonialism, ethnic cleansing, and slavery to tell me who's a terrorist and who's not. I don't trust a country that has bombed, still bombs, and SUPPORTS the bombing of innocent civilians to tell me who's a terrorist and who's not. The United States of America is a fascist, imperialist, and terrorist country and it has always been. May we see its downfall alongside Israel's.
Your "civilization" is a sham.

America Devoured
Aloha kākou. In a past post, I predicted the sham kangaroo court in New York would convict President Trump. It was a setup. I now believe this corrupt judge Merchan will incarcerate President Trump. What will happen next is unclear. What is clear is that Merchan is being directed by his own hostility towards President Trump and Pedo-Joe Biden and the Marxist democrats. This is blatant election…

so im sure everyones fully well aware of the magic 8 ball site fob is using to promote a contest to win some tickets to see them in nashville. the little 8ball widget theyve got in browser is also modeled on the physical 8ball that they had in the vip merch packages for tourdust's first leg, which is cool! but of particular note is the way that, to fill out the contest form, you have to pick your favorite fall out boy songs. and the sheer breadth of what is allowed is...interesting? it's not cohesive by any means, but it is really wild the selection of songs they have here because not all of them are fob songs. in fact, quite a few of them aren't.
i went directly to the source code and got a full list of all possible songs that you could input (which you can check for yourself by right-clicking and selecting "view source"). i'm going to list them here for archival purposes, with a few notes/explanations cause some of these are WILD.
there are 187 songs total listed.

anyway do you think if we mass request swing me by the rafters they'll have to do it

The Red-fan Parrot (Deroptyus accipitrinus) puts its signature plumage to use in a few ways. When threatened, it’ll fan out its vibrant neck feathers to intimidate a foe by making itself seem larger in size. Feathers are also used in courtship rituals, when they’re raised up as come-hither collars by males and females in a display as a pair will sway their heads from side to side. Spot this bird in tropical forests throughout parts of South America, including Colombia and Peru.
