ppl who do films or any film-related production in general; do y'all got any tips?
#our finals for one subject in college is to make a short film and we're currently in the trenches of pre-production#and desperately in need of funding#our prof was the one who decided when our shoot days will be and itll only be for two days 😍#we're also borrowing equipment from school#but everything else is our responsibility from the writing direction casting location logistics etc#idek what i want help with at this point bc idk what we dont know#we've secured casting and locations#im confused abt some stuff#like how do u make a call sheet idk what that is#and im nervous abt the schedule bc again its a two day shoot and we have 6 locations#granted 4 of them are very close together but still#and our day starts at 7am bc the equipment we're gonna borrow from school are gonna be given by then#or at 8am#ughhh idk anymore#filmmaking#short film#film project#film production#college#question#ketz talks

Todays the day. I need to get a job, even if that jobs not in the gaming industry. So I’m heading to the library to print up a resume and apply at a little local chain of mattress stores.
The guy instantly liked me when I went in to do a secret shop for a competing store and offered to hire me on the spot so I figure if I can chat with him he’ll still like me enough to consider me.
#ramblies#I’m dreading this so much I had dreams about getting hired by dropout tv instead#also my beloved was very sweet and when I said this was hard reassured me that I can do hard things#I wish I could wait for an industry job but it’s just not feasible#because we desperately need to move my beloved out of our current carpeted home#and moving costs are no joke#I’ll also need to get myself a laptop so I can keep honing rigging skills at the mattress job which I’m dreading#I have little to know idea how much I’ll need to invest to get a machine that can run Maya like a champ#which I’ll also need to buy an indie Maya license#god life is stressful and expensive#I long to be a little renaissance artist kept in a garret making what I please on the funds of patrons#alas

received an early career scholar travel grant for the conference this spring which will definitely cover my flight and perhaps some of my transportation
#which i desperately needed for this—i still have to see if i'm technically eligible for funding through my department (even as a lecturer#there is apparently a way my department could still help fund me so. we'll see) but even if they can't help me this is at least a very big#help with getting there

sometimes ppl on this site are past the point of parody. just saw someone say that it doesnt matter if the money youre donating goes to a real person or a scam because the point is to show that you care.
please god just do five minutes of due diligence before you donate. most campaigns have been vetted, just check that theyve been vetted and then go ahead. it does fucking matter that money you donate goes to the people who are desperately in need and not scams.

Apparently I am deeply detached from widespread public opinion on Mount Everest bc at work I read a blurb for a memoir where some woman was like " I needed to prove something to everyone, so I decided to be the first woman to climb Mt. Everest without oxygen" like all you are proving to me is that you're a twat

Watching everything that’s happening leading up to the inauguration like, they’re really just not hiding how dystopian this all is anymore, but I still gotta do my laundry, I guess.

the more i think about it, it just doesn't make sense why Kabuto doesn't stay put in the lab where Orochimaru made specifically for him.
He's not nearly strong enough to deal with the kind of people Orochimaru pissed off, he's not a frontliner, he doesn't even want to fight most of the time.
If he had wanted protection from Danzo, his chance was plenty high at that isolated lab outside of any villages territory/ anyone reach. If anything, he was supposed to be like Karin, tucked away securely in a lab all for himself to do with as he wishes and still proves his loyalty.
It's not like Orochimaru would abandon him consider he paid for all utilities and most definitely give him some kind of monthly allowance to get whatever else he needs.
That snake is frugal and amass devotees everywhere. I'm certain Kabuto was the one who started to call himself Orochimaru's righthand because I sure as hell NEVER seen Orochimaru ever called him as such. He doesn't know what he is to Orochimaru for a very long before he settled for that role.
I think, for the duration of the time Orochimaru set him up at the island facility, he was cautious and keep his distance. That he doesn't really know if this is really happening to him then Orochimaru leave him alone at that island and he thinks, for a few months in utter isolation, he thinks for himself in between the tasks he was assigned.
That he would not know what to do if he was forgotten again. When Orochimaru came to check on him, he had decided what he'll do to make sure he will never be forgotten, for all eternity.

one of the many things that bothers me about goku luck is the fact that they have kenta (a minor) in a penitentiary full of adult convicts. where was the juvenile welfare officer and why are they not doing their job. hope they’re fired

Today was a hard day, but at the end of it, I sat around a desk collectively experiencing the stages of grief with my coworkers who I worked the entire pandemic with and who feel like family, I realized I just didn’t have it in my heart to leave knowing what hell could come next…
So for now, I guess we’ll fight the good fight and make lots of dark jokes along the way.
