Hyunjin was not happy.
Although his eyes had lightened up at the sight of you the moment he spotted you in between the crowd, it did not take a genius to notice he was not his happiest right then.
And how could he? You had been gone for nearly two hours now with no other than the guy you used to have a friends with benefits dynamics going on with. Granted, Changbin was one of his best friends and he trusted him, but that did not mean he would jump up and down with excitement every time the two of you made plans together, much less if said plans involved the two of you alone, without him.
So, it was fair to say, seeing the two of you arrive together at the bar, although he had seen it coming, did only add fuel to the fire that had been growing inside him that night.
"What took you two so long?" Chan asked, and Hyunjin could only internally thank him for saving him from having to ask you that question himself.
"We just got a bit caught up" Changbin admitted, taking a seat on the empty spot in between Lix and Minho.
"Doing what?" Hyunjin couldn't stop himself from bitterly asking, eyes focused on the drink he was currently swirling in his hand.
"Talking" you answered the obvious, catching his attention as you sat beside him on the booth.
And maybe, just maybe, the way you had leaned slightly in against his body and your arm had wrapped around his bicep, the next second taking it one step further by intertwining your fingers with his very receptive ones, was enough to make him feel at ease.
"So?" your eyes moved back to your friends, not without first having given Hyunjin's hand a reassuring squeeze. "What did we miss?"
"Not much," Minho shrugged, taking a sip of his beer. "Just lots of drinking".
"That's it?" you laughed.
"Yeah, we played truth or dare for a while, so you guys missed out on some pretty spicy stuff" Han filled you in with a playful smirk.
"Oh, and Felix hyung got a girl's number" Jeongin informed with a proud yet teasing smile.
"No way!" you excitedly covered your mouth with your free hand.
"Yah, don't make it sound like an impossible occurrence now" Felix whined, earning laughs from all of you. "She just came up to me and, well…"
"Are you calling her?" Bin moved his eyebrows up and down in a teasing manner.
Felix shrugged, a small smile curving up his mouth as he stared into his cup. "Maybe…"
You and Chaeryeong squealed in excitement, not missing another second to start talking Felix into it and managing to get everyone else involved in the conversation, as everyone seemed to have a say on whether Lix should hit the stranger up or not.
Everyone but Hyunjin, you couldn't help but realise.
While all your friends went on and on about their different points, he remained quiet next to you, only listening to what they all had to say, if even that, since he looked more spaced out than anything — his mouth opening every now and then only to take a sip of his drink, as words seemed to be something he refused to let out of it.
"I'm sorry I took too long with Changbin…" you apologised when you guessed what must've been going through his head, speaking low enough for only Hyunjin to hear.
He shrugged, not finding it in him to look up at you. "You wouldn't answer my texts".
A small sigh escaped your lips. "My phone was in my bag, I wasn't paying attention to it. I should've known you'd try to contact me and keep it next to me, I'm sorry".
Hyunjin nodded, yet as expected said nothing.
Biting on your bottom lip, you reached your hand up to cup his cheek and make him look at you. When he didn't protest and his face was now only a couple of centimeters from yours, you pressed a gentle kiss to the tip of his nose.
"I'm really sorry, Jinnie" you apologised once more, this time looking into his already softening eyes. "I promise nothing happened, we were just talking while having dinner and got a bit too caught up in the conversation. It won't happen again, hm?"
You could tell he was not entirely convinced yet, but the small nod and the weak smile he gave you was enough for you to start smothering him with kisses all over his face.
You managed to get a giggle out of him right as your eager lips had been pressed under his chin and reached down to his neck, being stopped by his hand cupping your cheek and guiding you back up, right onto his lips.
It didn't take you long to react and wrap an arm around his shoulders, pulling him closer and deepening the kiss by simply touching his bottom lip with your tongue — that being all he needed to gently pull at your hair and have you tilt your head back, so he could slide his tongue into your mouth and softly meet yours.
"You guys go get a room" Seungmin's disgusted voice had you two faintly pulling away.
"Leave them, they're cute" Cherry pouted.
He shrugged, nonchalantly bringing his cup up to his lips. "We're cuter".
"Ew, and you have the audacity to tease us?" Hyunjin called him out, smoothly resting his arm around your shoulders and letting his hand fall loosely over your chest.
"At least they're not sucking faces right in front of us" Han joined in.
"Not today, maybe" Lix mumbled, earning a glare from Seungmin.
"In Y/N's defense, she hardly ever makes out with Hyunjin hyung in public" Jeongin took your side.
"Oh no, I've seen them" Minho shut his argument down immediately.
"Can we all just agree that both couples are disgusting?" Chan proposed, getting instant affirmation from everyone but the couples in question.
"You guys are just mad that you don't get smooched every day" Chaeryeong childishly stuck her tongue out.
"Then can Y/N go smooch Hwang somewhere else since they get to do it everyday anyway?" Minho asked with a cynical smile.
"Nope," you mirrored his feigned cheerfulness, leaning into Hyunjin's chest as your hand went up to intertwine with his. "I'm asking for forgiveness here".
"Go ask for your boyfriend's forgiveness in his bedroom then" Changbin taunted.
Hearing everyone laugh, you played off the burning feeling in your cheeks with a roll of eyes. "He's not my boyfriend".
The whole table erupted in laughter once more, as they called you out on not believing shit of what had just came out of your mouth.
Everyone knew you were joking, for the lack of label in your relationship did not make any difference when it came to the way the two of you acted around each other — and that was, like an actual, established couple.
But although everyone laughed, not everyone was amused.
So you knew the moment Hyunjin's hold on your hand loosened up and his body tensed up against yours.
You weren't sure why, but suddenly it felt like you had just managed to beat an obstacle only to stumble with another one.
-—-—-—-—-—-—-♡
A part of you wanted to believe you were overthinking. The part of you that would always overthink everything and come up with scenarios that would only make you anxious wanted to believe you were doing just that now. The sight of Hyunjin right next to you, however, told you otherwise.
You had physically felt his mood drop the moment you said he was not your boyfriend. You had felt his hand loosen up its hold on yours.
He had carried on with the conversation all of you were having like nothing had happened, laughing and joking around just like he would always do, but you could feel him distant from you. And now that some of them were at the bar and some others at the dance floor, leaving the two of you oh-so-conveniently alone at the table, not a word had been spoken.
He was avoiding eye contact. He was avoiding your touch. Playing the lack of them off by drinking and staring into the dance floor like it was the most interesting sight ever.
You were not making all of that up, you were sure.
What you couldn't fully grasp your mind around was the reason for the sudden drop in his mood. You were not lying. In fact, you were sure you two had joked around like that before and everything had been just fine. Or maybe you had been too blind to realise it had bothered him all along.
Whatever it was about your remark that had managed to touch a nerve of his this time around, you needed to find out so you could make it better.
"Are you mad at me?" you asked, leaning closer to him so you could be soft-spoken and still be heard.
"Why would I be mad?" he answered dryly as ever, no eye contact at all.
You felt your heart sink.
"Was it something I said?" you carefully asked once more.
His unamused eyes —finally— fixed on you. "You know what you said".
"I don't get why you're mad about it, though?" you mumbled, unable to find the right words. "We're not official yet…"
"I know that, Y/N," he snapped. "Trust me, I know we're not official, it's not that I'm mad about".
"Then?" you pushed it.
"Why did you have to go and remind Changbin hyung about it?"
Your eyebrows furrowed in genuine confusion. "I wasn't reminding him… if anything, he knows already".
"Yes, but it's just," he sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair out of frustration. "It's the entire situation, Y/N. Like, you went to our place and stayed there with him alone—"
"I went to see you and you weren't there" you corrected him.
"But you decided to stay there with him when I asked you to come here and even offered to go get you. And then you went out to eat with him, wouldn't reply to my texts, got here way later than expected, and then proceeded to tell him I'm not your boyfriend?" he recriminated, and it finally hit you how wrong it had looked in his eyes and how upsetting the whole thing was.
Your heart sunk once more, this time over knowing you had hurt the person you loved the most, even if you had not meant it.
"Hyunjin…"
"Can you try and understand how fucking shitty that felt?"
"I know, and I'm s—"
"Like, how would you feel if I told Yerim you're not my girlfriend right in front of you".
You stayed still, that name alone being enough to feel like a bucket of ice cold water had been poured over you.
"What does she have to do with this?"
"Nothing, it's just an example".
"Why is she the first example to come to mind, then?"
"She just is," he blurted out, growing more frustrated by the second.
"So you still think about her?"
"No! That's not—it's just the closest to your situationship with Changbin".
"There is no 'situationship' between me and Changbin" you made it clear. "We're friends".
"With benefits" he bitterly remarked.
"We were friends with benefits" you corrected. "That ended as soon as you kissed me. We're friends now. Just friends. And he's one of your best friends too, we would never deliberately do anything to hurt you. It's very different to you and Yerim".
"Right, it is very different" he agreed. "Because I never actually got to fuck her".
"And you regret not doing it?" both your words and the venom they held caught him off guard.
"What?"
"The way you said it made it sound like you would've liked to actually get to fuck her" you couldn't help the small crack in your voice and the annoying gloss in your eyes. "Because if that's the case then be my guest".
"No," Hyunjin shook his head accusingly. "No, you don't get to turn this around and get all defensive and jealous, this isn't about her".
"Well, you just made it about her, Hyunjin" you backed slightly away. "And I do get to be jealous of the girl you wanted to get with so bad that you didn't want her to see you with me".
"It was once, Y/N" he pointed out. "I pushed you away once because of her and then I chose you over her every single time".
You remained quiet, staring at the table as you were unable to look him in the eye right then and let him see the tears that you were hardly holding back.
"Baby," he called you, leaning in to try and make you look at him but with no success whatsoever. "I don't regret not getting with her. Anything I ever wanted with her was gone the moment I kissed you, too. I don't want her, I only want you…"
You said nothing.
"Y/N…" he softly called you once more.
You nodded in response, still not looking up at him.
Hyunjin sighed, feeling his chest tighten painfully at the beaten up sight of you. Suddenly, you felt distant, as if you had built an invisible wall in between the two of you and he could not get through it to save his life.
"It was just an example…"
"And you brought your point across. I would feel very shitty if you ever told Yerim I'm not your girlfriend, whether you said it right in front of me or not. Happy?"
"Baby, that's not—"
"I had already realised I was at fault and was about to apologise, though, because I really do hate that I put you through that with Changbin today and I am really, really sorry about it" your eyes went up to meet his, and although they showed how genuine you were being about being sorry, they also showed just how hurt you were, all because of him. "But oh well, thank you for the eye opening scenario, I guess".
"Y/N…"
"Everything okay?" Cherry's careful voice snapped both of you out of it, bringing your eyes up to be met not only with her worried expression, but Seungmin's right next to her.
You were fast to nod, sneakily wiping a tear that was about to fall, which did not go unnoticed by Hyunjin. Not sparing him another glance, you stood up to go to Cherry, snatching your hand away from his grasp the second he tried to hold it and make you stay.
"I'm getting a drink, come with me?" you asked Chaeryeong.
She nodded immediately, helping you out of the booth. "Of course, let's go".
On the other hand, Seungmin stood there, eyes scanning the heartbroken expression on his friend's face as he watched you leave towards the bar.
"Do I wanna know?" he asked.
Hyunjin shook his head no in frustration, leaning his head back against the seat and shutting his eyes close as he tried to contain the tears that had just started forming in them.
-—-—-—-—-—-—-♡
"Okay, you need to stop drinking" Seungmin stated, placing his hand on top of Hyunjin's glass before taking it away.
Hyunjin glared at him, but ultimately said nothing. Instead, he focused on you from afar.
It must've been a little over thirty minutes since you and Chaeryeong had been sitting down by the bar. He could only see your back from where he was sitting, but he felt at ease when he watched you throw your head back and let out what he could tell was a throaty laugh of yours — one of those genuine ones he loved hearing so much, even more when he was the reason for it.
At least your friend had succeeded at making you feel better after your previous argument.
He, on the other hand, had been sulking next to Seungmin for the past half an hour. Drinking his feelings away had seemed to be the way to go, and although Seungmin had initially decided to just let it slide and keep him company during his self-destructive ways, he could tell when enough was enough.
"Why don't you just go talk to her?" he questioned.
Hyunjin shrugged, leaning back against his seat. "I don't think she wants to hear me out right now".
Seungmin sighed. "What even happened for it to get that bad so fast?"
"I brought Yerim up".
Seungmin blinked in disbelief, feeling astounded to say the least. "What could possibly have happened for you to bring her of all people up".
"I'm an idiot," Hyunjin lamented, reaching for the drink Min had previously taken from him and downing it in one go. "That's what happened".
"And all of this because she got here later than she said she would?"
"No, it's not…" a heavy sigh escaped his lips. "It's much more than that. Mainly about her and Changbin hyung".
"They're just friends, Hyunjin".
"Now they are," he nodded, not being able to let go of their past together. "I just hated that they were alone for so long tonight, and that she felt the need to make it clear I'm not her boyfriend to him".
"So that's what this is about," Seungmin sighed, finally understanding the core of your argument. "You do realise she was just joking, right? Like, we all laughed because it was just that obvious".
"Was it?"
"Come on, man" he nudged him. "Even if you guys are not official, you two are exclusive. Do labels really matter when you both know you're together and serious about each other?"
Hyunjin stayed silent for a moment, trying to process his friend's words.
"We never established we're exclusive…"
"It's Y/N we're talking about" Seungmin reminded him. "She was faithful as hell to you even before you even made a move on her, why would it be any different now that you actually are head over heels for her? And you haven't even looked at someone else all this time, so…" he shrugged. "Some things are just unspoken, it doesn't mean they aren't there".
"I just… got insecure".
"More like jealous" Seungmin mumbled.
Hyunjin smiled weakly. "Insecure, genuinely. Sure, I tend to always get jealous, and I admit there was a bit of jealousy in there, too, but… I just got so fucking insecure when she corrected him, because yeah, she was faithful to me before and whatnot but Changbin hyung was the one exemption to it, and at the end of the day she's the one who gets to make the call and she can realise she'd rather be with someone else and choose Bin hyung over me any time".
"What do you mean?"
"I mean exactly that" he shrugged. "I'm in this kind of trial, trying to prove to her that I'm serious about my feelings for her, and I… if it were up to me we would already be official as hell, but she's the one who gets to decide that, and until then I'm just… hand tied".
"I don't think you are, though?" Seungmin's words got Hyunjin tilting his head in confusion. "I mean… you guys are an actual couple by now, you're pretty much only missing the labels, and I'm sure Y/N would say yes in a heartbeat if you asked her to be your girlfriend".
Hyunjin sighed, nervously biting his lip as he looked in your direction once again.
Maybe you would've before. After your argument, however, he was not so sure anymore.
He just kept fucking up over and over when it came to you, and he was scared all the progress the two of you had made so far, all the proof he had given you when it came to showing you he was serious about you this time, would come crashing down just because of this one slip up of his.
He should've kept quiet. Fuck, he should've shut his mouth the moment you had open yours to apologise. Everything would be so much different now if he learned to just not say the first thing that comes to mind without thinking about it first.
Then again, he had never been good at expressing himself, that you knew very well. Especially when it came to this kind of moments when he felt put on the spot.
He wished he could just turn back time and shut his fucking mouth.
Seeing Seungmin take the bottle of soju away from the corner of his eye, he gave up on both talking and drinking altogether, folding his arms over the table and resting his head on them, as he could feel all the alcohol he had drunk finally begin to hit.
-—-—-—-—-—-—-♡
Hyunjin didn't know how long it had been. Maybe twenty minutes, maybe ten. Maybe an hour, or even five minutes? All he knew was that he had passed out for a bit.
He didn't even know if his friends were around anymore or if Seungmin was still by his side, as he could not hear anyone near him. Well, anyone he knew, for the various unknown voices chatting —if not yelling— over the loud music around the bar were already invading his ears from all over.
Stretching out over the table after a good minute and almost knocking down a glass of soju, he finally sat back up. Much to his surprise, nearly all your friends were back at the table. Everyone but Cherry, as she kept chatting with you by the bar.
"Good morning there" Chan greeted with a teasing smile, having the rest join in in a second.
God, he knew he would never hear the end of it now.
"Good morning," he joined them, cynically. "How long was I out for?"
"Like fifteen minutes?" Han answered. "I don't know, I just got here like five minutes ago but I saw you sleeping from the dance floor".
"Yeah, fifteen minutes is a good guess," Minho laughed under his breath. He was probably the one enjoying this the most. "Right, Seungmin?"
All eyes on Min, they were met with his rather distraught expression staring intently at the bar.
"Seungmin?" Minho pushed it.
"Huh?" he snapped out of it.
"How long was Hwang out for? You were with him the entire time".
"Like two bottles" he answered incoherently as his eyes travelled back to the bar.
Chan snorted. "That's not what we were asking but holy fuck, Hyunjin".
Hyunjin rolled his eyes, later focusing them on Seungmin by his side. "You okay, man?"
"Yeah, I just…" his eyes squinted. "Who are…"
As if on cue, everyone followed his stare. And suddenly, Hyunjin knew exactly why his friend felt so distraught.
You and Cherry seemed to have company, and not precisely the kind of it he was okay with. Two guys around your age he had never seen before in his life, who were getting way too close to you, were most definitely not the kind of company he ever wanted for you. Especially not the one dude who was coming awfully near your ear to try and properly speak to you.
"Aw, just like the old days" Minho pretended to wipe a nostalgic tear, earning himself a snort from Han and a small shove from Jeongin next to him.
"Hell no" Seungmin mumbled under his breath, not letting another second go by before rushing towards Chaeryeong.
That was what Hyunjin wanted. To be able to just go up there, grab you and make sure that any other guy knew you were his. For every single person in the world to know you were with him.
Instead, he sat there — watching from afar how Seungmin reached Cherry's side and pulled her to him, glaring at the stranger that had tried to hit on her and telling him something Hyunjin could not quite decipher yet could perfectly guess what it was. Something along the lines of 'she's taken', of course.
Exactly what he wanted to be able to do with you.
He could've sworn Seungmin had told the guy who was trying to hit on you off, too, and although it was not quite enough to make him feel at ease, he did feel thankful to his friend.
Boyfriend or not, there was only so much he could take, however. So, when the very same guy who had invaded your personal space did not seem to care about Seungmin's words nor about your polite rejection —as he could tell by the way you had taken a step back from him and awkwardly motioned with your hands for him to take a hint—, Hyunjin found himself standing up from his spot and sprinting towards you.
"What's going on here?" he asked, towering over you the moment he reached your side.
"Um, n-nothing," your words sounded just as nervous as you looked, eyeing Hyunjin up before you focused on the stranger in front. "This is—"
"I really don't care who he is" Hyunjin shut you down, eyes glaring at the guy. "Back off".
"Now why would I do that?" the man —whose name you had learned to be Junghee a minute ago when he tried to buy you a drink—, replied rather smugly.
"Hyunjin…" you grabbed his hand, stopping him right as you felt him move forward.
"She's clearly not interested, leave her alone".
"Why don't you let her speak for herself then?"
Hyunjin turned around to look at you, silently demanding for an answer, yet simultaneously begging you with his eyes alone not to challenge him this time around — not to do anything that would hurt him any further.
He should know better by now, though. Because although you looked taken aback and anxious even, your eyes were on him. Only him. Not once during all those seconds the two of them had been expecting an answer from you had you merely even glanced anywhere but him.
And that was enough to let him know what you wanted, if not who you wanted.
"She's taken," Hyunjin spat after having turned back around. "Back off".
"That's what that other dude said, but—"
"Dude, I'm her boyfriend. Now go".
Raising both arms in defeat, not without first eyeing you up and down in a way that could easily have earned a punch from Hyunjin, he backed away for once and for all.
Hyunjin shook his head in both disbelief and annoyance, making sure the dickhead actually left before turning around to lock eyes with your cold ones.
"You're not my boyf—" you fell quiet the moment he cornered you against the bar and firmly placed his hand on your nape.
"To some random dude who's trying to make a move on you, yes I am".
You didn't have time to protest, for his mouth on yours had prevented you from doing so before you even had the chance.
Not like you wanted to protest to begin with, as his lips trapping your bottom one in them and sucking on it the way you loved it was all you had needed that night after your fight.
For him to reassure you once again that he was serious about you was everything you needed and more.
You grabbed him by the collar at the same time you wrapped one arm around his neck, feeling like you would die if you didn't have him the closest you could right then. Thankfully, Hyunjin seemed to get the memo, bringing his hands dangerously down to the lowest of your back so he could pull you to him and get rid of every possible centimeter that was left between your bodies.
Somehow backing you up harder against the bar and making sure your bodies wouldn't lose the closeness he had put in between them, he brought a hand up to cup your cheek, smiling into the kiss after you had massaged his tongue with yours.
"You don't get to let other guys hit on you just because of a stupid argument we had" he mumbled against your lips, getting a soft hum out of you when he pulled at your bottom one.
"I wasn't…" you whispered.
"No?" he pulled away for a second. "Is that why you were about to introduce me to him like it was nothing?"
Your cheeks burned in embarrassment. "I panicked, I didn't know what to say".
"Mhm… that better be it" he trapped your lip in his once more. "Because you're mine".
"I'm n—"
"Shhh…" he hushed you with a kiss, making you smile against his mouth. "You are".
"You're an idiot," you chuckled, endearingly looking up at him and gently cupping his cheek. "And you're drunk".
"M—not," he whined, more cutely to your ears than he had intended.
"You sure?" you teased, holding his face now with both hands as he rested his forehead on yours. "You do taste quite drunk to me".
He laughed under his breath, pressing a kiss to your cheek before he leaned down to rest his forehead on your shoulder — arms wrapping tightly around you as he tiredly nuzzled the crook of your neck.
"I may or may not have drunk my feelings away" he admitted.
"And the alcohol is finally starting to hit?"
He nodded, a quite heavy sigh of his tickling your neck.
"You wanna leave?" you asked, gently running a hand up and down his back.
Another silent nod was his answer. "Yeah, just wanna be with you right now…"
You smiled blissfully, planting a small kiss on his temple before your hand held his. "Okay then, let's go tell the rest we're dipping".
One look at your table was all it took for you to realise the two of you had been the main attraction back there. You didn't even notice the moment Chae and Seungmin had left your side and gone back to sit down with the rest, yet there they were, shamelessly gossipping together as they watched you walk towards the table.
The closer you got, the clearer you saw their teasing smiles — and the more you wanted to just turn around and get out of there with Hyunjin already.
"Glad to see you guys are on good terms again" Han teased as soon as you reached the table, motioning with his head towards your intertwined fingers.
"Didn't really appreciate the sight of you two exchanging saliva again, though" Minho pointed out.
"No one told you to look" Hyunjin shrugged.
Minho scoffed. "You were all up in our business, how could we not?"
"As if you weren't shoving your tongue down that one girl's throat minutes ago" you bit back, getting nothing but a proud smirk from him. "Anyway, we're leaving now, so…"
"Are you guys going to Hyunjin's dorm?" Jeongin asked.
"Mhm…" you nodded.
"You're staying there?" Cherry wondered.
You shook your head no. "I'm just d—"
"You're not?" Hyunjin asked in a pout.
You laughed under your breath. "I mean…"
"You guys can always figure that out later, but can I leave with you?" Innie drew your attention. "I'm tired and my dorm is on the way, we could split a taxi".
"That sounds great" you agreed. "Let's go then".
"If that's the case, I'm going with you guys, too" Changbin stood up as well, walking up to you right as Jeongin did.
"Why?" Hyunjin's eyebrows furrowed.
"Because you will probably pass out in the car and there is no way Y/N will be able to drag your drunk ass all the way up to our floor alone".
Hyunjin shrugged, pulling you closer to him by the waist. "Whatever, but Jeongin is sitting with us in the backseat".
Rolling his eyes in amusement, Changbin agreed to his friend's conditions. Maybe you had already been forgiven, but he was clearly not on the clear just yet for having kept you from him earlier that night.
-—-—-—-—-—-—-♡
The ride home had been easier than you had initially thought, mainly because Hyunjin passed out on your shoulder the second you got in the taxi, and just like that he was no longer able to glare at Changbin like he had done right before getting in the car, even though his wishes of having Jeongin join the two of you on the backseat had been complied with.
He had also been able to walk up the stairs just fine — a bit slow, but just fine. Although he did trip once when there was only one floor left to theirs, and if it weren't for Changbin, who was walking behind the two of you just to make sure, then probably the story would've been very different.
All in all, it had not been that bad. Hyunjin wasn't wasted, to be fair, but all the alcohol he had drunk during that one moment of sulkiness had hit the hardest in the span of his confrontation with the pushy guy at the bar and the ride home.
By the time the three of you reached his room, he didn't think twice before letting go of your grasp around his waist and slumping down face first on his bed — a muffled whine reaching your ears and earning a smile from you that had Changbin shaking his head in disbelief over how head over heels you were for his friend.
"Well, seems like my job here is done, so…"
Reluctantly taking your eyes away from your passed out beloved on his bed, you turned around to look at Bin. "Thanks for coming with us," you smiled. "The trip up the stairs could've been hell if you weren't here".
He chuckled, taking a step towards you. "Yeah, to be honest he wasn't that bad tonight. There have been times when Seungmin and I have feared for our lives trying to drag him up those stairs".
You rolled your eyes in amusement. "I've heard the same kind of stories but with you being the one that has to be dragged upstairs".
"Now who was the snitch" he playfully squared up.
"You guys literally all snitch on each other" you laughed.
Hyunjin unconsciously tossed in bed, making both your heads snap in his direction, and as if on cue, both your stares turned softer — the mood suddenly dropping.
"He was really upset tonight…" Changbin was the first one to bring the topic up.
"Yeah…" you mumbled, intently staring at Hyunjin sleeping. "Maybe we shouldn't…"
"Hang out alone anymore?" he finished with an obvious tone.
You nodded, slowly. "At least until things are more clear between us and he feels okay with it".
"You mean until you guys put a label to what very clearly already is an official relationship" he smirked.
"Stop…" you lowered your head to try and hide the shy smile that had just curved up your lips. "Things are still a bit messy between us… and I hated knowing that I hurt him today and I would hate to hurt him again" a small sigh abandoned your mouth as you looked up to him. "I really love him, Binnie".
"I know you do," he smiled, giving your shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "Let's just hang out while the others are around from now on".
"Yeah, let's do that" you agreed with a smile.
"Does this count as hanging out alone when Hyunjin is passed out in front of us?"
You couldn't help a throaty laugh from escaping your mouth, finding yourself having to cover it with one hand not to risk waking Hyunjin up, which seemed to be highly unlikely yet never impossible.
"You're staying the night?" he changed the topic, still not being able to erase the smile that had formed on his face over your laughter.
You shook your head no. "I'm just staying with him for a bit".
He snorted. "That's just calling to fall asleep on the floor next to him".
"I just want to make sure he stays sleeping on his side in case he throws up".
"Ew, I knew you were in love as hell but not to the point of being willing to clean his puke up".
"Shut up," you squinted your eyes at him, causing him to hold both hands up as he backed towards the door.
"Okay, I'll leave you to it now. I believe his pyjamas are in the second drawer," he motioned. "Although I guess he could sleep in his underwear alone, I don't know".
"What?"
"You're changing him, aren't you?" Changbin raised a questioning eyebrow.
"No, you change him".
He scoffed. "You're the one dating him, that's your problem now".
"But you're a boy..."
"What are we, twelve?" he laughed. "Don't act like you've never seen him naked before".
"Okay first, you don't know that" you pointed an accusing finger at him. "And second, he's drunk".
"So?"
"I don't want to overstep…"
"Trust me, he won't be mad that you changed him to sleep" he smirked.
"Changbinnnn," you begged in a whine.
"Ugh, okay" he gave in, realising there was no changing your mind. "Just go wait outside. And when he gets mad at me for changing his clothes, I'm throwing you under the bus".
"I'll take the risk" you laughed.
-—-—-—-—-—-—-♡
Pulling down the white oversized t-shirt of Hyunjin's that Changbin had given you after having successfully convinced you to spend the night before he could leave to his room for once and for all, you couldn't help but feel all giddy. You hadn't worn them many times, maybe one or two, but still, you could never grow used to wearing Hyunjin's clothes. And a part of you couldn't help but not feel like ever giving it back.
The way it had his particular scent you loved so much all over, the way it was long enough to cover just a little under your thighs, the way it felt almost like being in his arms, the way it was his.
Snapping out of it when you heard a heavy sigh coming from the bed, you were met with the cutest sight of Hyunjin tucked into it. Changbin had gone through the trouble, since he knew for a fact you would have a hard time trying to tuck him in if not.
The sheets were pulled up to his chin, in a way you could only see his uncovered face as he laid on his back and how the covers moved slowly up and down with each breath he took.
His eyes remained closed and his breathing calm. You couldn't help but feel bad for the hangover you knew he was waking up with the next morning, although that itself wasn't enough to erase the smile from off your face as you stared at him.
It was ridiculous how soft you were for him, not to say weak. You were so mad earlier that night, so hurt that he had brought up the one girl you were insecure about when it came to his past, that you thought the two of you would go your different ways that night and take a couple of days to make up.
But then there he was, telling a random guy who was trying to hit on you to back off and calling himself your boyfriend, kissing you like you were the only people in the bar, and that was all it took for you to feel at ease again — for you to know you would be alright regardless of the pending conversation you still needed to have.
Physically shaking your head as you were unable to mentally shake off his voice repeating the word 'boyfriend' over and over, causing your heart to soar with every memory of it, you went up to his drawer by the bed.
You took out the face wipes you knew he kept in there and went to the mirror next to it so you could take off your makeup. This wasn't your ideal night routine, but it would have to do for tonight.
"Mm…" Hyunjin's tired voice had your head snapping in his direction, only to be met with his visibly heavy eyes staring at you. "Sexy".
You snorted, feeling your face burn yet refusing to show how flustered you were over his sudden comment. Instead, you shook your head in amusement and threw the wipe into the small trash bin under his desk before you took a clean one out of the package.
"You're awake" you pointed out the obvious, sitting down by the edge of the bed.
"Yeah…" he sighed, eyes unconsciously closing for a moment there. "You looked too good for me not to wake up".
"That makes absolutely no sense" you laughed, leaning in to pull the covers slightly down to his chest.
"Yes, it does" he fought back, grimacing when the cold wipe came in contact with his face yet not protesting as you gently cleaned him up. "You should wear my clothes more often".
"I will take you up on that offer" you smiled, pressing a brief kiss to his forehead before going to throw the used wipe in the bin, too. "I'm borrowing a pair of sweatpants to sleep in".
"Noo, come here," he protested, stretching his arms out of the covers for you to go over there. "I meant you should wear my t-shirts with nothing else more often".
"Oh? You like the sight, Hwang Hyunjin?"
"You know I do" his eyes squinted accusingly.
"And what if I wanna go to the bathroom or the kitchen?" you taunted, folding your arms over your chest.
"If the guys are here then you put a pair of sweatpants on before leaving my room" his dead serious semblance got you grinning. "If we're alone, then it doesn't matter".
"Gatekeeping, I see" you came closer to the bed, enough for him to reach his hand out and grab your wrist.
"Of course," he proudly stated, pulling you down onto the bed with him — his hand resting against your back to pull you closer, later travelling down to the back of your thigh and guiding it over his waistline. "Only I get to see your pretty thighs like this".
This time, you could not hide the prominent heat in your cheeks, having to look down for a second to try and collect yourself, only to be met with his fingers holding your chin up and his lips pressing softly on yours.
Although it had begun tenderly, almost innocently, it was only a matter of seconds before Hyunjin's tongue was opening its way into your mouth, sending shivers down your spine as your hand went to his nape and your fingers were entangled in his brown locks.
It wasn't until his fingertips traced their way up from your thigh to your hip and his hand dug inside the t-shirt of his you were wearing, reaching dangerously close to the curve of your breasts, that you pulled away.
"So you're a horny drunk…" you smirked, almost as if having found his weakness. "Should've seen it coming".
"I always wanna touch you" he pouted.
"Something tells me it's different this time" you let out a breathy laugh, holding his wrist and gently removing it from underneath your top. "So I'm stopping you before we get too caught up".
"But I need you…" he whined, burying his face in your chest.
"You're literally half asleep, what would you be able to do anyway?"
"Don't underestimate me, baby girl".
You felt him smile against your chest in response to the small laugh that had just escaped your throat at his threatening words.
Considering your little banter to be done with after his last statement, Hyunjin's arms snaked around your waist and pulled you somewhat closer to him — as close as the covers in between the two of you allowed him to.
"You okay?" you whispered when you felt him take a heavy breath, tenderly running your fingers through his hair.
"Everything's spinning" he managed to let out as he exhaled.
You chuckled, pressing your lips down on the crown of his head. "That's what happens when you down two bottles of soju in half an hour".
He pouted. "I was… feeling very shitty…"
Your heart hurt at his words, and you were met with his heavy-looking chocolate eyes after he had pulled slightly away from your chest.
Silence filled the room for a minute, words somehow not being needed as you quietly looked at each other.
Wetting his lips, he reached a hand up to cup your cheek, drawing small circles on it with his thumb and smiling when your hand reached up to do the same with his wrist.
"I'm sorry about what I said," he apologised. "I shouldn't have brought Y—"
"I really don't wanna talk about her anymore" you softly cut him off.
He nodded, tenderly grabbing your hand in his and caressing the back of it with his thumb. "I'm really sorry, baby… I never wanted to hurt you".
"Hey, it's okay" you hushed him. "I never wanted to hurt you either. I'm sorry too, Jinnie".
He smiled, tiredly yet ever so blissfully — eyes closing once again right as he brought your hand up to his mouth and pressed a sweet kiss to it.
"I only want you. All to myself. No one else".
"You don't want me with anyone else or you don't want anyone else but me?" you couldn't help but tease.
"Both," his confident tone got a giggle out of you. "But you're the one who gets to decide whether you want to be with me for real now and I just keep fucking up an—"
"Baby…" you called him softly as ever, lovingly running your thumb over his bottom lip and managing to make him open his eyes once more. "You haven't even fucked up".
"I just did tonight, though…"
"Not in a way that will stop me from wanting to be with you" you reassured him with a smile.
"You promise?" he whispered.
You nodded, answering his question by briefly pressing your lips against his. "Remember what I told you the morning after we got together?"
"You told me many things that morning" he smirked, causing you to roll your eyes in amusement.
"About not feeling like you have to watch your every move around me" you reminded him. "I said that as long as y—"
"I don't go to someone else or start feeling trapped again we would be alright…" he completed for you.
"And you haven't done any of those, have you?"
"No, of course not" he sounded almost offended by that question. "If anything you might start feeling trapped with how clingy I got".
A throaty laugh escaped your mouth at that, snuggling closer to him and feeling your heart melt when his hand was naturally placed on the curve of your waist.
Fuck, you loved him.
"What are you saying, I love clingy" you admitted. "And since you haven't done any of those two things I don't really consider that you've fucked up… couples argue here and there, it's okay".
"Are you saying we're a couple now?" he smiled.
You bit your bottom lip, looking away from his eyes as you were at a loss of words and felt your face burn under his stare.
"Go to sleep, Jinnie".
"You haven't answered my question".
"You're drunk" you pointed out. "We'll talk about this some other time".
Hyunjin pouted, but ultimately decided to let it go. "You're staying the night?"
You nodded. "How else am I supposed to take care of your drunken ass tonight?"
"That is very girlfriend of you" he smirked.
You couldn't help the giggle that had just ran past your lips, just like you couldn't help the backflip your heart had just done. "You're going to regret this so much in the morning".
"I won't" he stood his ground.
"We'll see about that tomorrow" you chuckled. "Now go to sleep".
"At least get in here with me," he tugged at the covers for you to get inside. "You're practically naked, don't want my baby to catch a cold".
"Shut up," you laughed under your breath, embarrassed, yet complied with his wishes.
Helping him pull the sheets up, you got inside them with him, who wasted no time to tuck you in with him and tightly engulf you in his arms.
You sighed contentedly when your face rested on his chest, throwing a leg over his waist.
"Better?" he asked.
"Mhm…" your body snuggled closer to him. "This was very boyfriend of you" you couldn't help but tease.
Feeling him smile against the crown of your head, you were greatly surprised by his long fingers pushing your chin up to be met with his plump lips.
"That's what you should've told that one idiot that was hitting on you".
"And who says I didn't?"
He pulled back from your mouth, staring at you with wide eyes as he tried to process the words that had just come out of it. "Y-You did?"
You nodded, quite amusedly.
"You told him I was your boyfriend?"
"Well, I told him I had a boyfriend. He didn't know who you were, so…" you laughed at his cute expression right then.
"And even then he still wouldn't back off?" he scoffed. "God, I should've punched him".
An amused giggle escaped your mouth. "It's fine, I was actually about to just walk away when you got there" you confessed, tenderly running your thumb up and down the corner of his mouth. "You really underestimate how bad I don't want to be hit on by anyone but you, Hwang Hyunjin".
The smile that had just curved up his lips right then could easily be one of your favourites he'd ever given you. There was something about his crescent moon eyes and his dimples that had your heart soaring.
You didn't get to stare at it for long, though, for those same lips that were holding the most beautiful smile you had ever seen were soon to be pressed on yours, somehow managing to show you everything he felt for you yet did not have the right words to express.
Feeling his hot breath tickle your wet lips after the lack of oxygen had broken you apart, you found yourself smiling against his mouth, pecking it ever so lightly and having him do the same the next second.
"Be my girlfriend?" he whispered against your mouth.
Your eyes opened wide, and you were sure they looked elated as ever — for you were elated as ever.
You could scream. You could cry. You could laugh. Everything at once as you were hit by the one question you had at some point believed Hyunjin would never let himself ask you.
You could do so many things right then as you stared into his tired yet genuine eyes, and your heart screamed for you to answer with the 'yes' that had gotten stuck at the back of your throat the second his question reached your ears.
At last, though, you let the rational part of you win for once.
Leaning in to steal a soft, lingering kiss from his cloudlike lips, you looked up at him with a small smile. "Ask me again when you're sober".
Letting out a breathy, defeated laugh, he rested his forehead on yours as he closed his eyes. "Will you say yes?"
You smiled, pressing a soft kiss to his nose. "Go to sleep, baby".
Although not entirely satisfied with your answer, he gave it up for once and for all, pulling you back to his chest as he closed his eyes and found comfort in the way your limbs were loosely wrapped around him. You were lucky the alcohol kept dragging him into a slumber, otherwise you would not have heard the end of it until you gave him a proper answer.
In less than a minute, he was fast asleep all over again.
You, on the other hand, were left wide awake while almost inaudible snores abandoned his lips every few seconds — unable to conceal your sleep as everything that happened that night kept replaying in your mind over and over. More precisely, images of your last conversation right before he closed his eyes and went to sleep.
With your heart pumping hard against your chest to the point you were scared it would wake him up, you could only wish he would not change his mind once he woke up. That if he even remembered everything that had left his mouth that night.
Wide awake, you were left thinking of every possible outcome following this night.
Whatever happened, though, drunk words were sober thoughts, and although conflicted over the circumstances they had been spoken on, you could not help the overwhelming happiness taking over your mind and body now that you knew Hwang Hyunjin wanted to make things official with you.

It was hard to hear what Hongjoong said through the new round of laughter around the table. He was pouting, which shocked you for a moment. He never acted cute around you, but it was a nice change, and you had to admit it was adorable. If he wasn't that far, you'd try your luck and pinch his cheeks, and you’d probably get bit afterward. You kept laughing to yourself as Yeosang was poking fun at Hongjoong.
"He walked around the dorm like a lost puppy, who would have guessed, Kim Hongjoong being a total simp"
"Oh, what about that day when he w—"
"OK! No more meat for Yeosang and Jongho, you both are satisfied, right?".
If looks could kill, they would be dead at this point. We were all laughing at the pure anger in Hongjoong's eyes. His smile and squeaky laughter were a poor attempt to disguise his thoughts. Seonghwa pretended to hold him down, and he pretended to try, and attack them on the other side of the big table.
"No, no", Yeosang cleared his throat.
"I was going to say how cool you were the other day, Hongjoong-hyung", Jongho said, dead serious, yet it was clear it was a lie as he eyed the precious meat near him.
I couldn't hear his answer as another topic came up right after, and they were lucky enough to keep him distracted.
It's so interesting to see them all together like this, it was exactly how you imagined them after all the stories you've heard from Hongjoong himself, but you couldn't get used to so many people talking at once, and oh boy, didn't they love to talk? Bless their souls, but they didn't shut up once, it was hard to process everything.
"What about you?", Wooyoung said and poked your arm with his own.
You were way too distracted, so you didn't hear the conversation right beside you.
"Hm?"
For a moment, it was just his focus on you, so you leaned in a little to hear him clearly, but he wasn't about to be discreet, oh no, he wasn't.
"How was your last relationship?". His question got the attention of the rest of the table.
You shrugged. "My answer isn't as interesting, I've never been in one to know how I'd act."
You expected the shocked expressions you received around the table, it always goes like that. People always have a big reaction, as if you were an alien, or some sort of saint, no in-between, and then, they start with the good intentioned, yet invasive questions.
"Wait, really?", Hongjoong asked as shocked as everyone else, and the boys became even more interested in the topic.
"Yeah, it must be shocking for you, but not everyone had a queue of girls on their locker with gifts on Valentine's Day."
All the attention went back to Hongjoong, and you tried not to laugh at his wide eyes.
"Yah! Wh- This is not true, for goodness’s sake, who told you that?", he started to talk fast and looked around for the culprit.
It was a coincidence that Mingi decided that was the perfect moment to get up and ask for another bottle of soju. He could just press the button on the table, but he was kind enough to walk there and not give the waitress the trouble to go to him, such a kind and discreet one, wasn't he?
It was obvious who was the responsible for the "lies", and even though he was too far to suffer the consequences, Hongjoong promised revenge for that.
"But I still can't get over it, he went to the company with a big bowl of choc-", San said, and exaggerated how huge the bowl was with his hands.
"Even if that's not true, he was popular, everyone knew him back then", Seonghwa interrupted San to say that.
"It's the price of beauty, what can we say other than that? It must be hard to be so pretty everyone loves you", you said.
Hongjoong's ears and cheeks were on fire, but if anyone asked, he would say it's because the weather was so hot that day, and the alcohol didn't help it. He didn't even breathe for a couple of seconds.
Did you just call him pretty? You did, but do YOU think he is pretty? It's not the same thing? You must have a type, so that means he fit in it?
Your comment passed to the others as a normal teasing, but Hongjoong's heart couldn’t let go of the little comment, even though the topic changed to something else.
"Do you think I'm pretty?", he asked when he walked home with you late at night.
The comment caught you off guard, not only because he brought up what you said hours ago, but because it was obvious, at least it was to you.
"Are you kidding me right now? Of course, you are."
"No, I asked, do you think I'm pretty, I want to know your opinion."
He seemed so cool while saying that, just walking slowly with his hands in the pockets of his jacket, looking ahead with his head high.
He didn't even seem nervous or shy or like he was freaking out on the inside, but he was, and he didn't know why. That was a new feeling, and it's even weirder, since he usually doesn't care what people think of his appearance, but when you said it, it meant a lot to him.
"I do, but usually men don't rather hear they're handsome?"
"I don't know about any other man, but I like to hear you say it."
"I'll remember that"
Oh, he couldn't wait to hear it again. Really, he couldn't. What the hell was happening to him?

Chapter 5
Come Here Baby Girl I Wanna Kiss You
When the four of us arrived the party was already in full swing. I thought it would be like the cliché high school parties with lots of people, loud music, and alcoholic drinks, but it turned out to be a smaller, more exclusive sort of party. There weren't that many people there, only the main people from my dance class. Everybody was just chilling on the couches in the living room. All in all, about twenty people including us.
"Ohhh heyyyy. It's the newbieesss!" Keita and I were greeted by some guy who seemed really energetic. Keita and him did some sort of complex handshake... seems like he had made a lot of friends already.
"I'm Eric, you must be Akahana Ezihe... gotta admit, you're way hotter than I expected for a 15 year old." I glared at Keita.
"Does everyone already know my age?"
"Sorry... was just being honest. I cant lie."
"There is a thing called... not talking about it or me, you should practice it."
"Haha very funny, plus no one caressss, why are you so sensitive about it. As long as you don't act like some booby sucking toddler nobody will even notice."
"He's right though. I don't give a shit, you seem chill. Come on sit, sit, make yourself at home. Want anything to drink?"
"Got any Fanta?"
"Uhh yeah, orange and berry."
"Berry."
"Aight, I'll be back."
Eric returned with my drink and I plopped down onto the couch next to Keita. I opened the bottle and took a sip of my favorite flavor of soda. Keita took the bottle from me and took a sip.
"Are yall like... dating?" I choked on my spit in response to that question.
"I'm sorry what?"
"Are yall dating... your always hugging, holding hands... sharing the same drink."
"Dude... he's my best friend. We've been friends since I was like 4 and he was... I don't even know 6?"
"Yeah, our parents became best friends when they moved from Australia and then we grew up hanging out together. I was her-..."
"No need to go that far." I said cutting him off and slapping my hand over his mouth. He wrenched my hand off of his mouth and held my wrist tightly pushing me back into the couch playfully.
"Ouhh... embarrassing childhood stories, please continue."
"No, please don't continue."
"I was-." I once again slapped my hand over his mouth, but he grabbed both my wrists first and held them so I couldn't escape. I kept wrestling with him as he continued his story.
"I was her babysitter... when we... were kids. She al-... yah I'm gonna kill you Hana... She always... dragged me to her... dance studio, and made me practice with her."
As the group watched us wrestle, chuckles could be heard. Everybody loved watching us fight like children.
"Y'all are so cute. You'd make the cutest couple." Eric said, knowing it would annoy me more.
"Oh my gosh, we would not." Keita then started pretending to kiss me in response.
"Yah Keita! Get your crusty lips away from me."
"Nooo come here baby girllll. I wanna kiss youuuu." I started laughing uncontrollably at his mocking tone of voice as he kept pulling me back to him. Finally he pulled me so hard that I couldn't push him away and his lips landed on my cheek. I didn't really react because I had been laughing so hard, plus it wasn't like we hadn't ever kissed before.
"See you didnt even react to him kissing you. It's like you two are already dating."
"That's just because it was only a kiss on the cheek, I'd freak out if it was anywhere else."
"Mhm sure, I bet he was your secret first kiss." My face reddened at this because Keita was indeed my first kiss. Keita laughed out loud and our reactions were obvious.
"Oh... wow... ok I guess it aint a secret now. How and why did yall kiss?"
"It wasnt really on purpose..." I said quietly, covering my blushing face.
"Are you kidding, there is no way that was an accident. You were so madly in love with me back then. I bet you 100 bucks you did it on purpose."
"Oh my god I did not. I was not in love with you, it was a harmless crush."
"Ouhhh so we did like each other at one time?"
"No... she liked me at one time."
"Right because you cant look like a pedo falling for a girl two years younger than you?"
"Oh nah it had nothing to do with her age. She's never really felt younger to me. I was just too dumb to notice her feelings, otherwise we probably would've dated."
"Awh so you liked her after she liked you?"
"Yeah... kinda missed my chance."
"Y-you liked me?" Keita looked at me as if he had forgotten I was sitting right next to him.
"Oops... late confession. Yes I did." I didn't really have a response. I just kinda sat there with my mouth open in shock.
"You may now kiss the bride." Eric said in a mockingly priestly voice. I think Keita noticed my shock and sort of awkwardness.
"You ok babe?" He asked quietly. Eric was engaged in another conversation with someone else.
"C-cam you not call me that please."
"Oh come on Hana, don't let something stupid in our past change our relationship now."
"T-this isn't in my past Keita, I just found out. Honestly you're right I was in love with you. Both of us know that doesn't just go away."
"Do you mean you still have feelings for me?"
"I-I don't know. I fell for you really hard, really fast, but I was also really young. I don't really know if that qualifies as love but I thought it was. It took me a while to get over you but I finally did and I don't plan on enduring the pain of loving you for a second time."
"The pain?"
"Yeah because you didn't like me back, and it's pretty clear you don't like me now."
"What? Hana I never said that."
"Oh so you do like me now? Just because it'll be a defining factor of if I like you back or not?"
"That's not what I meant babe. I just mean to say I was in love with you too. I thought you didn't like me back so I also made myself get over it."
"Whatever Keita, I don't wanna talk about it right now."
"Are you mad at me?"
"A little."
"For?"
"Not telling me sooner. You're the only one I wanted to end up with. I still think that maybe in the end after we've had our fun, it'd be nice to end up together and be childhood sweethearts, but I'm not planning my life around that."
"Well just so you know, I'm not leaving you. No matter who you date, no matter who you marry, we will always be best friends."
"Don't worry, I didn't plan on letting you go."

omg so maybe the way y/n would react when someone else flirts with jk and how he’d handle the situation? 🌺
pairing: jeon jeongguk x reader
genre: fluff, slice of life, established relationship, college au
word count: 1.9k
a/n: i don’t think i had ever written y/n being jealous before, it was always the boys somehow so this was fun! thank you so much for requesting! btw, this takes place on their last year of college.
Tumblr media
Jeongguk had eyes for you only.
That was no surprise. You knew that. His friends knew that. Your friends new that. And pretty much everyone with eyes could see that was the case in a heartbeat. It had been that way ever since high school, and now that you had been together for a year and he had you all to himself, it was far from ever changing.
There were certain people, however, who did not know that was the case — strangers mostly, or classmates of his who did just not give a fuck about him having a girlfriend he was madly in love with.
The latter being the case that day.
The two of you had agreed on meeting at the library to get started on a project you had signed up as partners for, as it was pretty much a given by now. And although the library was not your favourite place to go to when it came to get done with college stuff, it was the only place the two of you would truly focus in, which would be much needed this time since you had to turn it in later the next day, yet were just now getting started on, as you had both been too busy with other exams and assignments to even think about this one.
So, he had headed over there as soon as his last class ended, going up to an empty table and taking a seat, wasting no time on leaving his backpack on the chair next to his for no one else to take it as he waited for you. Not like said act of his had been of any help, though, for a girl he recognized from one of his classes —one of the few you were not in with him— had reached his side in a matter of seconds, asking if he could help her out with something from that day’s lecture she had not quite understood, and removing his backpack from the seat he was saving for you; hanging it on the back of the chair as she took a seat next to him before he could even protest.
Biting his tongue as he did not want to sound rude, he decided to just help her out in the meantime you got there. It wouldn’t take that long anyway, would it?
Only it did, for you were taking longer than you should have, and she showed no signs of planning on leaving anytime soon as she didn’t even try to hide her ulterior motives with him — from time to time trying to turn the conversation into a non-academic one, yet having to stick to it as Jeongguk made it clear he was only carrying on with the conversation as long as it was about the class.
“You’re really good at explaining” she smiled brightly, looking up from her textbook and moving her seat closer to him, which only caused him to move his slightly back as he nodded — his awkwardness making an appearance as he did not know what to answer to that. “You think maybe we could go grab some coffee later so we can talk some more about the class?”
“I have a girlfriend” he was quick to go straight to the point, informing her what he knew for a fact she was well aware of, for it was not unusual for you to go wait outside that particular class for him to come out of, since it was right next to yours and you always seemed to be done before him — meeting him with a sweet peck on the lips every single time as everyone else came out of the classroom, her included. “And she’ll be here anytime now, so…”
His classmate had seemed to take a hint as he eyed the chair she was sitting down on, silently asking her to leave. Nevertheless, she did not stand up. “I could really use the help in this class, though…” she pushed it. “Maybe you could give me your number then?”
“Oh, I’m sure you won’t be needing my boyfriend’s number” your voice had both of their heads snapping up in your direction, right as you set two coffee cups on the other side of the table and eyed both the girl next to him and the taken seat you knew was supposed to be yours. “Especially when it comes to something you can so easily ask your teacher about”.
Your cynical smile as you said those words and sat down in front of them, was all it took for the girl to send a glare your way before standing up, sweetly saying goodbye to a quite stunned Jeongguk and then taking off without even looking your way again.
Scoffing at her audacity, you shook your head, not even bothering to look at your boyfriend before you started taking your laptop out of your bag and placed it on the table.
“What took you so long?” he quietly wondered, feeling like he was tiptoeing when it came to finding the right words to say, given your displeased expression.
“Coffee run” you replied simply, staring at your laptop’s screen like your life depended on it as you turned it on.
He bit down on his bottom lip, not being able to ignore the tension in the air, yet having no idea what to do about it either.
It was funny, how before dating you he never had other people approaching him like this, yet now that he was in an established relationship, girls had apparently started to notice him out of a sudden. He was not used to it. He was not used to you being jealous. And although he knew it was not entirely his fault —since he had kept his distance from said girl— and a part of him couldn’t help but feel good about the fact that you were being jealous over him, another part of him did not feel quite as good, for he knew what you were feeling. He had been in your place multiple times when other guys flirted with you, after all, and although you turned down every single one of them, it was still upsetting all the same.
So, not knowing whether he should bring the topic up or not, he had his eyes going to the cups from your go-to coffee shop placed by your side. It was your guys’ usual, he could tell — an iced americano for you and hot chocolate for him.
“Is that one for me?” he pointed at the carton cup that was used for hot beverages.
That had seemed to catch your attention, eyes fixing on the cup he was pointing at and staring at it as you thought about it for a second. And although both of you knew the answer was positive, you shook your head no.
“Couldn’t decide, so I got both for me”.
Jeongguk couldn’t help but let an amused smile curve up the corners of his lips, knowing well enough that was your way of punishing him for letting another girl hit on him. “Oh, so you simultaneously went for a hot and an ice cold drink?”
“Mhm…” you nodded.
“Yah,” he called you out when you still wouldn’t look at him, reaching for your hands and holding them over the table. “Come sit next to me”.
“I’m good”.
“Come onnnn,” he whined with a small pout, pulling on your hands and leaving you no choice but to stand up and go over to him. “I was saving this seat for my favourite girl”.
You couldn’t help but smile at the way he had cooed those words as you sat down next to him, biting on your bottom lip not to let him see, yet being too late as a smile of his own was already taking over his mouth at the sight of yours. Loosely wrapping one of his arms over your shoulders, he pulled you closer to him, laughing under his breath when you could no longer hide your smile after his lips had pressed a lingering kiss to your cheek.
“I thought I was your only girl” you pushed it nevertheless, earning another chuckle from him.
“You are my only girl” he said the obvious. “Plus, my favourite person in the world. There’s nothing to be jealous about”.
You rolled your eyes, focusing them somewhere else as you snorted. “Wasn’t jealous” your bitter words told him otherwise. “She’s pretty, though…”
Jeongguk sighed, cupping your face in his hands and resting his forehead on yours. “I’ve had eyes for no one else but you ever since I first saw you in high school, petal. You know that” his thumbs drew tender circles on your cheeks. “I didn’t even look at her”.
“You didn’t turn her down when she asked for your number, though”.
“Did I even get the chance to?” he pointed out softly with a breathy laugh, bringing heat to your face as you were reminded of the fact you had answered for him the second the question had left that girl’s mouth. “I told her I got a girlfriend before you arrived, okay?” his mouth pressed a brief kiss to your nose. “Don’t be silly now, you know I love you”.
You smiled softly, nodding your head to let him know it was alright, and then giggling when the loving peck he had just pressed to your mouth was followed by another kiss — a much longer, slower one, as he tilted your head slightly back and sucked on your bottom lip.
“We’re in the library” you reminded him in a whisper, voice coming out muffled as you spoke against his lips.
“And you’re the only one I want” he cheesily answered, smiling at your amused reaction and pressing another kiss to your mouth before pulling away. “Now that we’ve established the facts, shall we get started on the project?”
Shaking your head in amusement, you reached for your laptop on the other side of the table and brought it up to you — then reaching for the carton cup as well and sliding it in front of him. “You’ve earned your lame hot chocolate, you sweet bastard”.
A light laugh escaped his mouth at what you had just called him, leaning in closer to you once again. “And a little smooch?” he puckered up his lips.
Getting a laugh out of you at the way he was picking up on the things you usually said, you couldn’t deny him of his petition, placing your hand behind his neck and pulling him towards you so you could press two chaste kisses to his smiling mouth.
“And an ‘I love you, bun’?” he pushed it.
“Yah,” you were the one to call him out this time with a small laugh. “All the attention has really boosted your confidence, hasn’t it?”
He giggled, saying nothing as he instead grabbed his cup and took a sip of the drink you had gotten him. You were right though, for the attention, love and praise you had given him for the past year had indeed helped one hell of a lot when it came to boosting his previous nonexistent confidence.
“Will you say it, though?”
Shaking your head no, you laughed under your breath and leaned closer to the table as you started typing down on your laptop instead. “I love you, bun”.
Although you had not even looked at him as you gave in —embarrasingly fast— and mumbled the words he had been waiting for, he smiled the brightest, knowing he had managed to lift your mood and gotten some love from you altogether.
Funny how you had came to the library so you could focus on the project, yet all he wanted and could think about right then was kissing you over and over — until the last bit of jealousy you had felt that day abandoned your body.

young one | 23
Jungkook sat on the couch staring at his phone that’s on the coffee table, for almost thirty minutes, debating whether or not he should call you right now.
What if you were busy?
What if you were in the middle of an exam?
Out with your parents?
Having fun with Sian?
He didn’t want to bother or disturb you.
But what if you were waiting for his call?
Jungkook tilts his head to the side, maybe it wouldn’t hurt to try. As he leans forward to grab his phone, he hears a knock.
“Jungkookah!” He hears as he walks towards the door. Turning the knob open, his four friends walk in without a single word from Jungkook. He sighs.
“What’s with the sad face,” Donghyun asks Jungkook. “We brought drinks and fried chicken.” They put everything on the coffee table, covering everything he had on top. His phone and a little box.
“I’m just not in the mood for it today,” Jungkook tells them, grabbing his stuff from the table.
“Again? Wait. Is that--?” Yuri stares at the box Jungkook had in his hand along with his phone. Without hesitation she grabs the small box and plops down on the couch. Jungkook lets out a big sigh, sitting by her as she opens the small box.
“An engagement ring?” Sungjae asks, sitting in front of Yuri.
“It’s pretty,” she says. “Guessing she said no? Is that the reason why she left?” Yuri says taking the ring out of the box. She’s about to try it on when Jungkook snatches it back from her.
“Rude,” she laughs out. Jungkook scoffs.
“Says the one who took it from me first. Don’t put it on, it’s not for you,” he says, annoyed. Yuri looked at him unamused.
“Why did she leave anyways?” Minhyuk asks, mouth full of food.
“We’re both on different paths. She was always busy with work and school so she barely had any time for any one. Her mom suggested they stay with her for the meantime so she can focus on her education.”
“So she doesn’t work anymore?” Donghyun asks. Jungkook shakes his head no.
“Wait why couldn’t you go with them?” Minhyuk asks next.
“Umm..” Jungkook tilts his head to the side. “Uh, she thought it’d be good for us to go on a break. While we figure out our life separately.”
“That’s good, you get another chance in life,” Sungjae laughs.
“Yeah. She ended his life right when we graduated college, no?” Donghyun adds in, looking at Sungjae.
“What?” Jungkook says, shocked. “Ended? That’s right when my life started, what do you mean?”
“You barely had any time to figure out what you wanted to do and when the whole Yn baby thing happened, you had no choice but to pick that path in life,” Donghyun explains.
“But I like how my life is now,” Jungkook says, confused at what his friends were trying to say.
“Then why are you so mopey?” Yuri says, rolling her eyes. “You were always so fun whenever we hung out.”
“Because both the best people in my life are gone?” Jungkook says as if it wasn’t obvious enough.
“You have us now,” Yuri tells him, putting her hand on his knee. Jungkook quickly pushed her hand off.
“In the past, Yn took you from us.”
“I guess we came back at the right time to get you back on a life that fits you,” Donghyun says, following after Minhyuk.
“We five started together, we’re ending together,” Sungjae says, lifting up his drink.
“Maybe if Yn wasn’t too selfish and greedy, we could’ve been friends,” Minhyuk says, making Yuri laugh.
“No way! I don’t think we’d get along. I never really liked her,” Yuri says, grabbing her drink from the table.
Jungkook tilts his head to the side, “that’s something you both have in common.”
“She didn’t like herself either? HA. Selfish, greedy, insecure,” Donghyun listed out. “Why did you ever like her?”
“She’s far from any of those. Maybe if you were a little nicer and gave her a chance, you’d like her too,” Jungkook tells him. “I’m starting to see why she doesn’t like me hanging out with you guys,” he says quietly.
“What?!” Minhyuk says out of shock. He laughs a bit, “She really hates it when you have any fun. Nothing’s changed.”
“Yeah I think it’s a good idea you two took a break. You can’t have her controlling your life. She doesn’t know what’s good for you, you’re your own person. She can’t tell you who you can and can’t be friends with. A break will be good for you,” Yuri speaks.
“My own girlfriend for over six years doesn’t know what’s good for me, but the lady I hit with my shopping cart suddenly does?” Jungkook says, laughing. Yuri looks at him surprised.
“I knew you before she did!” She argues.
“Jungkook, just take this as a sign that the world is giving you another shot in life. Don’t let it go. You have a choice this time, pick the right one,” Sungjae tells him.
Before Jungkook can speak up, he hears a knock on the door. He gets up without a word and walks to the front door.
“Hyung...s,” he says, surprised when all six of his older brothers stood outside his door.
“How are you holding up buddy? We finally were all free at the same time,” Hoseok says sheepishly, holding a plastic bag filled with ice cream. “So we wanted to check up on you.”
“Would you be down for a guys night?” Jin says, holding Haneul in one arm. “Haneul wanted to see you too, so I brought him with me.” Haneul smiles at his uncle Kookie and waves his little hand.
“Mingyu wouldn’t stop screaming when I was leaving, so…” Jimin says, pointing to the cheeky baby on his chest. “Brought him too.” Jungkook finally breaks into a smile when he takes in all of his hyung’s faces and also his nephews.
“I’m down, co--”
“Jungkook who’s at the door?” Yuri yells from behind him. All the boys’ eyes grew wide as they heard a girl’s voice coming from inside.
“My friends!” Jungkook yells back at her.
“The babysitters?” Donghyun answers back with a laugh.
Jungkook looks at his hyungs with a tired look. “I didn’t invite them over, they just came.”
“Like us?” Taehyung says with a smile.
“Yeah, but you guys aren’t getting on my nerves so it’s okay. Come in,” Jungkook says, walking away from the door.
-
It was rather awkward. Jungkook has never expected this to happen. You and Sian gone and his two separate groups of friends gathered around him in his living room.
“Why is that staring at me?” Yuri says, scratching her head and pointing to Haneul.
“T-that?” Jin stammers, looking around at his friends. “What are you saying about my kid?”
“I’m saying tell him to stop staring, that’s rude,” Yuri answers.
“You’re one to say what’s rude or not,” Jungkook mumbles.
“I can’t help it that my kid likes to stare at strange looking things,” Jin tells her. Yuri gasps and the maknae line tries to hold in their laugh.
“So are we just going to sit here and stare at each other or what,” Yoongi says, scanning his eyes over Jungkook’s friends.
“I mean we were all hanging out and doing fine but you all decide to show up unannounced,” Sungjae says.
“I heard you four did the same,” Jimin says.
“Yeah but we’re Jungkook’s friends,” Yuri answers. “He likes it when we’re over.”
“And we’re Jungkook’s family, he likes it when we’re over,” Jin tells her.
“Oh, you guys are the ones who act like Jungkook’s dads right? The ones that tell him what to do and who to be friends with…” Minhyuk says, “I heard you guys don’t like us either--”
“We don’t.” Taehyung tells him without expression.
“Is that why you came,” Donghyun says.
“No, we came for Jungkook,” Namjoon finally speaks. “If you guys are his friends you know what he’s going through.”
“Which is why we came and celebrated,” Sungjae says, slapping a hand to Jungkook’s back.
“Celebrated? What’s there to celebrate,” Hoseok laughs.
“Yn and her kid finally leaving and giving Jungkook his old life back,” Yuri says.
“Giving Jungkook his old life back?” Taehyung asks, confused.
“When we were in college, that was the best time of our life,” Minhyuk explains. “It was just us five. But then Yn came and our friendship started to falter. It was fine at first--”
“No it wasn’t. Ever since Yn came it got so boring,” Yuri says.
“Well Yn would come with us to parties, but she’d get drunk too fast and had to go home before the party started started. You know? Or she’d ask Jungkook to stay at the dorms with her or study with her instead and so Jungkook started hanging with us less and less,” Minhyuk continues.
“Eventually, Yn did start having fun at parties with Jungkook but they often go off on their own rather than actually be with us four,” Dongyun adds.
“Then she got knocked up and they stopped hanging out with us completely,” Sungjae says. “Jungkook really had no choice.”
“I beg to differ,” Jin says. “It was Jungkook’s choice to stay or leave Yn and he chose his life now. He never regretted any of it either.”
“How would you know, you weren’t there,” Yuri argues.
“I wasn’t there?” Jin says, looking at her with a smile. “Yah. Who do you think helped out with Yn and Jungkook’s starting family?”
“Hyung was the first one to have a kid out of us so he knew what to do and everything. He helped me and Yn from the beginning,” Jungkook speaks up, after hearing what everyone had to say. “And he’s right, I chose to stay with Yn. She never told me to stop hanging out with you guys back then and she still hasn’t now.”
“I believe you four are just holding a, what, seven? year long grudge that you have over Yn.” Namjoon says, looking over Jungkook’s friends. “You believe that she took Jungkook away from you four because you were friends with him first but he chose Yn over you four. You can’t seem to wrap your head around the fact that Jungkook likes-- loves-- Yn more than the four of you and you like Jungkook way too much to put the blame on him. But really, none of it is his fault. He’s his own person, he can choose who to like, who not to like and who to leave and who to stay with. No one can make him choose. If someone does force him to choose someone else, then he would be living in regret right now. Do you understand?”
“Are your little brains comprehending this?” Yoongi says, staring at them with a straight face. The four’s eyes shift from Namjoon to Yoongi quitely.
“Are you understanding what uncle Namjoon is saying?” Jin asks, looking down at Haneul who’s sitting on his lap. Haneul nods his head, even if he really doesn’t know what’s going on. “Yaaaah~” Jin lets out a proud noise. “Even my son has a bigger brain than you,” he says, pointing at Yuri. She scoffs at him.
“So for example,” Namjoon says, continuing, “if Yn told Jungkook to choose her over you four, and Jungkook didn’t want that, he’d be living in regret right now. But he’s not. Jungkook chose what he wanted, so he’s content with the life that he has now.”
“Content? When we first came here he looked so upset--”
“Because Yn and Sian aren’t here,” Taehyung says. “The two people that made him the happiest are gone.”
“What’s Haneul minus happy?” Jin says, looking at Haneul once again.
“Sad!” Haneul yells, making a sad face. Jin looks at the four with an expression that said ‘what’d I say??’
“So what are you all trying to say,” Yuri asks, tired of the six boys.
“We’re saying you four are selfish for thinking of yourself rather than Jungkook. You call yourselves his “friends” yet disregard his feelings. When the blame is put on you, you throw it at someone else that has no part or fault in the situation. You four are adults now, yet continue to act immature. You can’t go back to the past, it’s the past for a reason. Jungkook was fine before you got here. Having other friends is okay but you can’t come in here and start controlling his life as if you were a part of it in the first place. You were his past yet you act like you’re his present and future. You step into his life and judge every part of it. You don’t bother to understand what Yn is going through or give Sian a chance. He’s a really sweet boy and Yn is one of the most selfless people I know. Yet you judge her for something your mind made up years ago. They aren’t the bad guys here. They didn’t ruin Jungkook’s life. If they did, I don’t think their relationship would have reached this far. So stop saying Jungkook had no choice. He chose to be with Yn, he chose to stay with her when she got pregnant, and he chose to live his life with the two. You four have no business coming in and taking him away as if you know what he wants. Jungkook’s a really nice kid and he sees you four as his old friends. You’re lucky that he’s able to see past all of your flaws and accept all of you as his friends but I think your true colors are finally appearing to him. None of you deserve to have Jungkook as your friend if you can’t accept the life he’s living right now and the people in it.” Namjoon says. Everyone was quiet. Namjoon looks at Jungkook and the young one mouths a ‘thank you’ to him as if he said everything he felt the past hour that he couldn’t put into words.
“And I think I’m speaking for Jungkook, and everyone else here when I say this,” Namjoon continues, “but please get out.”
The four silently turn to Jungkook who nods his head. Yuri was the first to get up, rolling her eyes as she walked to the front door. The three followed silently.
“So they know how to shut their mouths,” Hoseok says with a small laugh.
“Namjoon hyung was so good,” Jimin says, with wide eyes. “Right Gyu? Uncle Joonie is so cool, no?”
After the four were out of their sight, Namjoon looks over at Jungkook and the young one sighs out of relief.
“Hyuuuungg,” he whined, walking over to Namjoon and sitting on his lap, wrapping his arms around his neck and pressing his cheek to Namjoon’s forehead.
“Hyung, thank you,” he says, hugging Namjoon tightly. Joon pats his little brother’s back.
“You’re too nice sometimes you know. And color blind,” Namjoon says, pulling away from Jungkook slightly and tilting his head up to look him in the eye. “When you see the red flags, drop them.”
“I told you you’re oblivious,” Yoongi says, pointing at Jungkook. “Your so called friends are so rude and you let them walk all over you.”
“They act like it’s their world and we’re just living in it,” Taehyung says with a smirk. “When really… I’m the main character here.” Jimin and Hoseok look at him as if he was stupid.
“I thought I was the main character,” Jungkook says, pointing at himself, pouting.
“You are,” Jin says, looking at him. “For now.”
“Ugh, whatever,” Jungkook says, “give me him.” He gestures for Jin to pass Haneul to him and Jin does so. Namjoon groans at the added weight.
“Hand over Gyu Gyu as well,” Jungkook says, reaching his arms towards Jimin. Namjoon’s eyes widens and Jimin laughs as he walks over to the three, adding Mingyu on top.
“Yah-yah y-yah Jungkook,” Namjoon says as Jungkook bounces the two on his lap. He holds the two of them to his chest and leans into Namjoon’s chest.
“I wanna stay like this until my babies come back,” Jungkook says.
“I- I don’t,” Namjoon says, struggling to breathe.
“Okay well what are we going to do about this,” Taehyung says, looking at all the food on the coffee table. “They really just leave their trash behind.”
“Are we going to eat it?” Hoseok asks, opening one of the boxes.
“I refuse to eat anything those demons touched,” Jin says, taking out his phone. “I’ll order. What do you guys want?”
“Mommy,” Mingyu says. Jungkook frowned.
“Me too,” he says, looking over at Jin who just looked at them with a blank expression.
“Well that’s not on the menu.”

Don’t Go
warnings: none
era: end April 2021
❀ Haechan has a hard time sharing his feelings with JiHo
Tumblr media
“I know your game is more interesting than me, but you don’t have to be so obvious about it.” JiHo whined jokingly to the same-aged boy who was sat in front of her. Haechan just hummed and shrugged his shoulders, not even sparing the girl a glance.
They were currently sat on Haechan’s bed with the boy cross-legged in front of her. He was playing a phone game while JiHo sat behind him in a similar fashion and leaning her head against his shoulder. In her position she could just barely watch him play over his shoulder.
The boy hadn’t really said anything to her yet ever since she had entered the room. The silence between them still comfortable, but JiHo would rather have a conversation with Haechan instead of watching him play a mobile game and ignoring her.
Not getting any reaction from the boy, JiHo decided to push herself up from her position - which meant away from Haechan - but as she did she noticed how he slightly tensed up. “Where are you going?” His voice was barely above a whisper which had JiHo grinning. “Why? Do you miss me already?” She tried her best not to laugh at her own teasing words for him. She only got an “annoyed” sigh in return and Haechan focused back on his phone, another round of his game starting.
“If I remember correctly...” JiHo hummed to herself as if she was deep in thought. “You were the one who invited me to hang out, yet here I am getting ignored. Don’t you think that’s a bit rude?” Haechan could feel his stomach fill with guilt, but he really didn’t know how to act at the moment. JiHo let out another chuckle and wrapped her arms around his torso, causing her to pull herself closer to his body. “It’s okay Haechanie, I’m just teasing you.”
A few seconds passed with again no response coming from the boy. JiHo didn’t expect an answer anyway, but the silence this time felt a bit different. This time she noticed how the tapping sound from Haechan’s fingers on his phone stopped. It was completely silent.
“I just don’t want you to go.” He mumbled. A smile creeped its way onto JiHo’s face as she heard the words. She squeezed Haechan a bit closer before making herself more comfortable leaning against his back. “You act like I’m moving to the moon.” “That’s how it feels.”
The dramatic gasp that escaped JiHo’s lips had Haechan’s brows furrow confusion. “All this time you annoy me and tease me, but here you are being all soft-” “No I’m not!” He retaliated. JiHo just gave him a look as to say “Sure, buddy. I totally believe you.”
“Honestly, not gonna lie now, we got so comfortable living together; I was about to start asking you to wash my underwear with the rest of my laundry.” The comment had not only taken Haechan completely of guard, but Johnny as well, who just decided to enter the room. “I-” JiHo threw herself back onto Haechan’s bed, holding her stomach as she couldn’t help but hysterically laugh at both boys’ reactions.
Haechan was downright baffled and his cheeks, as well as the tips of his ears, were turning a bright shade of red. Johnny’s expression on the other hand perfectly conveyed that he heard something he shouldn’t have heard. “Yah! You can’t say things like that!” Haechan stuttered.
“Dude, you’ve know me for what? Six years? We share a dressing room during promotions, we lived together for a while and wouldn’t it only be fair, since I have done your dirty laundry quite often now?”  JiHo raised a brow at the boy once she got out of her laughing fit. “Underwear included.” She added quickly.
Johnny silently walked over to his side of the room, observing the two younger members wordlessly, but judgement obvious in his gaze. “Hyung-” “Ah ah, I don’t wanna be part of... whatever this conversation is about.” The older boy dismissed the comment and grabbed his phone charger, for which he entered the room in the first place.
Now that Johnny left the room and the two friends had stopped teasing each other, JiHo and Haechan returned to their original position. JiHo closed her eyes and leaned her body against the boy’s back one again.
“Why do you have to leave?” JiHo let out a small chuckle, not because she found anything funny, but she just didn’t know what to say. “Who’s going to cook for me at 1 at night when I get hungry?” Haechan smirked when the girl slapped his arm at his words. “That’s all I was ever good for to you anyways right?” He quickly told her that wasn’t true, but added, “It was a nice bonus.”
“I technically won’t be going anywhere Haechan ah. You won’t even noticed a difference.” She knew it wasn’t true, but she hoped her words would ease Haechan’s feelings about everything. “I’ll probably be here so often that you’ll get sick of me and want me to leave.” She joked, but Haechan didn’t find it that funny. He grabbed her hand that was resting against his side and let his thumb rub over the soft skin. “I might get sick of you sometimes, but I’d never want you to leave.”
The confession warmed JiHo’s heart. The two of them weren’t the closest between all the members, but they had gotten very comfortable around each other in the time they trained, worked and lived together. Living together was probably what got them so close as they were now. The amount of times they stayed up together playing games into the early morning were countless. They bonded over cooking ramen and making midnight snacks for each other. The duo also spent a lot of time getting on each others nerves, but only in a playful manner, never taking it too far.
It was also Haechan’s bright personality and position as the “mood maker” of the group which had gotten them so comfortable so easily. He was never the type to be shy and liked to make everyone feel welcome in the group. JiHo was convinced it was Haechan who was to credit for not only their friendship but many in the group as well.
Haechan would argue with that, saying that JiHo was just as much to be credited for it. Not only him, but everyone who knows JiHo personally, knows how bright of a person she is. She also isn’t shy at all. She’d talk to anyone and everyone that catches her eyes. She just had a way with people and making people feel good which Haechan admired.
Those years of building a friendship like this had made the whole situation unexpectedly harder than it had to be. And now Haechan absolutely did not know how to cope with it. “I usually never felt like this when I had to change dorms, rooms or anyone else in the group had. But I don’t know... I just never thought you’d be the one.”
“I’m going to miss you JiJi.” Haechan mumbled. A bright smile pulled on the girl’s lips at the mention of the nickname - the nickname JiHo was sure of retired a while ago - and she smiled against Haechan’s shirt. “I’ll miss you too, Haechanie.”

Ateez reaction their s/o loving their scent (Maknae Line)
So for this imagine, to change it up a bit I decided to have it both ways, wherein they love your scent in some reactions, but you also love theirs in others. Thus, for the members that seem like they would openly tell you about your scent, the reactions have been written in that way. For the members that might not, I have written it so the reader loves their scent instead. Sorry that this is so confusing ahaha.
Also I probably sound so weird, I promise I’m not a weird person. Doesn’t everyone imagine what people smell like? no? just me? okay.
Word Count : 1.9k
Genre : Fluff
San:
Tumblr media
You and San had just met. You recently got out of a toxic a few months ago, and promised yourself to stay away from any form of a relationship for as long as you could. To be honest, you didn’t even think you were capable of being in a stable relationship after your previous one. That was all until you met San. He made you feel loved and like the luckiest person in the world.
There was once where he had finally come to your house and you had told him to wait in your room, while you changed your cloths in to something more comfortable. He simply nodded, and without saying anything walked into your room. You simply looked down and turned the other direction. You were starting to feel insecure. You had finally brought who you thought was the love of your life, to your house, only for him to not utter a single word ever since he got here. You quickly changed, and went to make yourselves two mock-tails. You brought it to the room, with a smile on your face, offering him one, only for him to take it, mutter a soft thank you and then become quiet again. You sighed and sat on the bed, deciding to make the first move. You sat on the bed, and slowly tried moving towards him, only for him to notice and move further away. On the outside, you simply smiled and nodded, but on the inside you were broken. You were embarrassed and felt so guilty for putting him in that position. You muttered a quick apology and went back to your original position. For the next few hours, he just occasionally looked at you, not saying a word at all. You started doubting whether he genuinely liked you, and started feeling insecure, maybe he liked you at first, but lost interest.
All these thoughts, led to you spiralling down the same, dark chain of thoughts you had before you met San, and tears started to collect in your eyes. He didn’t notice at first, since you blinked and looked away, however as the tears kept flowing, he heard you sigh shakily. He instantly looked at you, only to find you with a hand over your mouth, trying to control the noises you made, with tears flowing out your eyes non-stop. His eyes immediately doubled in size and he called out to you.
“Y/n, Y/n, what’s wrong? Is everything okay?” He gently said in the most soft tone ever.
“No, San” You said quite frankly. “I don’t know if it’s something I’ve done, but I just feel, I- I feel like you’re losing interest in me, and I’m sorry for forcing you to do things you don’t want to” You admitted honestly.
“No way! Y/n, what would make you think that?” He asked genuinely.
“You’ve been ignoring me the entire time here, what else am I supposed to think” You cried, raising your voice a little getting frustrated.
“No no no, that’s not what I meant” He stuttered realising his mistake.
“Y/n, it’s just that, I don’t know whats wrong with me, I’m just surrounded by things that smell like you. To be honest, your scent is so enchanting and I have a feeling the second I get close to you, I won’t be able to control myself, you are making me feel some type of way, and I can’t control it.” He said finally, and you were definitely not expecting it. You wiped your tears, feeling more empowered now. You simply crawled towards him, but he didn’t move an inch. You finally straddled him and kissed him deeply.
“Then, don’t control yourself”
Mingi:
Tumblr media
You and Mingi were classmates, and a few of your friends knew he had a thing for you. You didn’t see him as anything more than a friend, but recently were starting to doubt your feelings. Even small moments when he was leaning against his locker, laughing with his friends made your heart flutter, and you didn’t know what was going on. You blushed whenever you made eye contact, and finally realised you had feelings for him too. Not wanting to embarrass yourself, if it wasn’t mutual, you just kept your feelings to yourself. You had science together, and because of your amazing luck, you were partnered up for a certain presentation. You worked on it thoroughly for the entire week in the library, and you noticed, some signs of him liking you too. For example, he tried staying close to you, and made eye contact more often. In fact, on Friday, when you were parting and going your own ways, he even pulled you into a hug, his face buried in your hair and whispered.
“See you on Monday” He patted your head, and then simply left. You were astonished to say the least but, just went home, even more confused.
Then Monday came, the day of your presentation. You were happy to get it finally over with, while Mingi, not so much. He looked quite on edge and nervous, you realised he must have been nervous for the presentation, so just pulled him into a tight hug.
“Yah, Mingi-yah! we can do this! Fighting!” You whispered only for him to hear, with a big smile on you face. He immediately held you tight, took a deep breath in, and let go of you.
“Let’s do this!” He said. It was safe to say, your presentation went really well. In fact, you got closer, more than friends for sure, and early on in your pre dating stage you realised he had a thing for the way you smelled, besides he hugged you and loved being near you, it was a little obvious. When you finally started dating, he openly told you.
“Y/N, you smell like absolute heaven, how? how- I- what have I done to deserve such an angel, you’re like an actual goddess” He finally admitted when you were hugging once. You just giggled, and now hugging had become your thing. You were never a moment together without hugging and loved being close to one another.
Wooyoung:
Tumblr media
It was no surprise that Wooyoung loved the way you smelled. He always asked for items of your clothing when he went on tour so he could feel comfort, even when he was missing you like crazy. Initially, you found it a little weird, that he openly asked for your clothing, but then you realised how much it meant to him. In fact, being the talkative person he was, who would not shut up about how you smelled.
“Dudeee, my girl just sent me such a sexy pic, I already want to go homee” He heard one of his childhood friends say when they were on a boys trip once.
“For real, last night, we skyped and had the best time ever” He heard another one chime in, followed by a bunch of hollers and whistles. They then all turned to Wooyoung, expecting him to say something. Being one of the few people in their friend group, in a relationship, they expected him to tell them everything. Wooyoung just shrugged and muttered a quick “huh”
“Dude, did you do anything sneaky with your girl... Did you ask her to send you pics?” One of them finally spoke up.
“Oh... no, but I do have one of my hoodies I lent her recently. It smells just like her, and it reminds me of a garden of roses. I just love her so much and I miss her like crazy. It’s alright though, because I have the hoodie, and just smelling it reminds me of her heavenly scent.” He hummed at the end. All of his friends were quiet for a moment and then laughed and hollered.
“OUR LITTLE WOOYOUNG IS IN LOOOVEEE, HE’S FINALLY FOUND THE ONEEE” He heard them yell. They would never let this down.
When they all got back, you went to greet them. Only for them all to engulf you in a hug. Wooyoung shoved all of them out of the way, and buried himself in your embrace. You kissed Wooyoung’s chest and then looked at the others a little confused.
“Hey, guys? What’s going on?” You asked, quite confused. One of his friends quickly responded saying
“We just wanted to know if you smelled as good as he describe your smell”. You felt a little weirded out. But then they all laughed at your reaction.
“Don’t worry Y/n, Wooyoung would have yeeted us to another planet, before we would have even gotten the opportunity to...” You looked back up at Wooyoung only for him to pull you back into a hug.
“Where’s the lie in that? You smell like heaven.” He said, nipping your neck.
Jongho:
Tumblr media
It was a normal evening for you and Jongho, and you were both cuddled up on the couch simply talking and just enjoying your time together. To be honest, Jongho, to an extent was aware of how crazy his scent made you, you felt relief and comfort, and he was aware of that. As for you, you could never get enough of it. Even despite dating for over 3 years, you still always felt the same emotions and feelings when his familiar, musky yet comforting scent greeted you. In simply words, you would describe his natural scent as musky, a little smoky (not because of actual smoke duh), and irresistible. At the moment, your chin was on his chest, as you plopped yourself on top of him, and simply slept on him, chest to chest.
“Y/N!” He grunted
“Hmm” you whined shifting your face to his neck subtly. Despite trying to be subtle, and he realised what you were doing and he simply laughed.
“Am I that irresistible?” He snickered. You simply whined and intertwined you hands in his hair.
“Hmmm, I love you so much” You said, your nose to his neck, he lifted his arm up to hold your waist in place and you took that as a sign to get closer, if that were even possible.
“Babe, what are you doingg” He whined like a child
“Jongho-yahh, not my fault my boyfriend smells like literal heaven, I just can’t stop, you just, it’s just,” you stuttered “so enchanting” you finished sighing. He just laughed and kissed you head.
“Well, I’m glad to have a girlfriend who cherishes me so much” he giggled. You lightly shoved him.
“Ugh... now is when you say something like, oooh Y/N your scent is so irresistible too” you whined feeling a little annoyed. The rest of the night went on teasing each other and cuddling, with you taking every chance you got, to get closer and take in that heavenly smell.

An Introduction Pt.3- Teen Titans x Aquagirl!Reader
Pt.1 Pt.2
Requests for this series is now open!!! You can request for ships, episode inserts, and headcanons for this series!!! More info can be found here
Summary: You guys are like the "Friends" of the crime-fighting world. Robin's totally Ross and if this was one of those episodes, it would be called "The one where aliens get their asses kicked"
Ships: none, see info above
A/N: Once again this is a reader insert for the Teen Titans 2003 show season 5 episode 10 (the one where they all meet!) I also added an epilogue for funzies.
You found yourself in a dark bubble of Raven’s magic, floating up to the alien ship. You had offered to water jet all six of you up, but you weren’t even sure if you could create that big of a geyser. Besides, a quiet bubble is much better than a large geyser. Beast Boy, however, disagreed.
“That dark energy stuff gives me the--” He was cut off by a glare from Raven. ”Uh...I mean, it's cool!” He gives a guilty grin.
Robin tells us to go to the firing control room, and you all crept through the hallway in a single file line: Robin, the pink-haired girl, Beast Boy, You, Cyborg, and Raven, who you noticed was still near the entrance. Cyborg gave you a look as if to say Keep going; I’ll handle this. You nodded and continued walking forward.
You were walking near Beast Boy, when you noticed a cut on his arm, with that part of his suit torn open. You pointed at it.
“Hey, you alright?” you asked, referring to the gnash.
“Oh this?” He replies. “This is nothing. When you’ve been a part of the DOOM patrol, a little cut is nothing.” He smiles confidently, patting his wound. You realize that he was totally bluffing when a comical tear springs from his eye and his arm tenses.
“Here I can help.” you say softly. Concentrating on the air between your hands, you condense the liquid in the air, forming a small bubble of water. You move that bubble of water onto his arm and it begins to glow. You let go of the water, revealing Beast Boy’s arm to be completely healed.
“Dudeee,” he stares in awe of your handiwork. “That's so cool-” He’s interrupted by your stumbling; healing really does take a lot out of you. He lets you lean on him, and the two of you continued walking forwards. After a few seconds, he stops.
“Uh, guys?” he says. And that's when you noticed it too. The six of you were surrounded by alien soldiers, and they seemed really out for your blood. “I think they know we’re here.” The six of you charged at the fleet of soldiers. But Robin seemed to have an idea.
“Raven!” he yelled. “Take out part of the floor!” Raven looked at him with confusion, but then nodded and did as she was told. With a large SMASH, she removed the part of the bottom of the ship, revealing the water below. The water below you realized, suddenly understanding Robin’s plan.
“Aquagirl! Now!” he yelled, holding off a soldier with his staff.
“On it!” you yell, punching another alien out of the way. (Apparently with water powers came enhanced strength, which you found out at that moment.)
Concentrating on the water below, you raised your arms, allowing the ocean to shoot up from below. Instead of blasting the water through the entire ship, you carefully controlled it to grab onto the aliens that were attacking your friends, pulling them through the hole and causing them to fall into the ocean below.
You looked at the door to the control room, which was locked shut.
“I got this.” Robin said, placing something shaped like a birdirang onto the door.
As the bidirang counted down, you heard Trogaar talking from behind the door. “The Earth scum shall learn it takes more than six juvenile heroes to defy the mighty Lord Trogaar!” he said, most likely with a smile on his face. You all looked at each other, prepared to prove him wrong.
The door exploded, and Robin was the first to get through. “We’re not six heroes,” he declared. “We’re one team.” Him considering the six of you a team sparked something inside of you. You all split up to take down Trogaar and his guard, with Robin at the lead. You took on a guard, kicking him in the stomach and sending him flying towards a wall.
You noticed that Robin was on the shoulders of Trogaar, and you sent a jet of water to his face to knock him off balance. That didn’t work and he threw Robin across the deck. Luckily, he landed on his feet. The two of you joined to fight Trogaar, taking turns to land punches and kicks. However he overpowered you and Robin, throwing you both across the room. You landed on your back, but Robin hit the wall with the back of his head and fell to the floor.
“Robin! Aquagirl!” The alien girl yelled. You got up as quickly as possible and helped Robin up from sitting position as she and Cyborg tried to take on Trogaar, only to be thrown in your direction as well.
Still leaning on you, Robin looked at Cyborg’s arm. “Can you rewire that into some sort of weapon?” he asked.
“I can try,” he said, getting up. The four of you were in a fighting stance, despite being injured and surrounded by Trogaar and his goons. Suddenly, you hear a voice, as clear as day.
“Get away from my friends!” It was Raven, supporting an injured beast boy. “Azarath Metrion Zinthos!” she chanted. Part of the ship exploded, sending it crashing into the ocean.
You found yourself standing in the ship, the roof torn off and making a slow descent into the ocean. All of the alien soldiers were groaning on the ground, but Robin, Cyborg, and the alien girl were all unharmed. The four of you watched in horror as Trogaar aimed to attack Raven when BLAM! You turned to see Cyborg standing next to you with a smoking sonic blaster in place of his arm. He grins.
“Alright I’m only gonna say this once. Boo-Yah!”
“Yo, is it just me or are some of these guys starting to move again?” Beat Boy points out, still slumped in Raven’s arms. He was right; a few of the aliens began to twitch, making attempts to get up. You turn to the other 5 people.
“You guys don’t worry. They’re in the ocean now, meaning that they’re in my territory.” You cracked your knuckles, your eyes glowing blue.
.
.
It’s the next morning and you find yourself sitting with Robin, Raven, Cyborg, and Beast Boy, looking at a view of the bay and an island
“Thanks so much for the new suit Cyborg!” you say, fiddling with your brand new outfit. You were wearing a cropped short-sleeve rash guard and swim shorts, both with deep cyan and black patterns. He also gave you black gauntlets with curved spikes ‘To protect yourself from bad guys and still be aerodynamic!’ according to him. Robin gave you one of his old yellow belts, since he figured you’ll probably need something to carry stuff in. Finally, you found some black scuba shoes from the swimwear store that allowed you to walk and swim with ease.
“Its no problem AG! I figured you needed a new outfit if you’re gonna be a superhero now” Cyborg chuckled, calling you a new nickname that he probably made up just then. Superhero, you thought. I like the sound of that.
Raven had a far away look in her eyes.“That's quite a view.” she said, still staring that the scenery
“Somebody oughta build a house out there,” Cyborg agreed, his voice now softer.
“Yeah, if you like sunshine and the beach.” Beast Boy added, making an obvious dig at Raven.
“You know, you're kind of funny.” Raven said to your surprise, smiling softly at Beast Boy. This was obviously too much for the guy’s ego.
“You think I'm funny?” Beast Boy sat up straight, looking at Raven. “Dude! I know some jokes!”
You laughed at Raven’s face of pure regret, before a familiar voice brought your attention to behind you. It was the alien girl, now in a purple outfit similar to the one before, but this time it seemed to really suit her.
“I look .. nice?” she asked, obviously insecure. You took her hand again.
“You look amazing,” you reassured her, causing her cheeks to flush.
Robin stepped forwards. “I still don’t know your name,” he said.
“In your language, it would be ‘Star Fire.’” she says with a smile.
“Welcome to Earth, Starfire.” Robin said.
She looked at you all shyly, certainly different from when you first met. “ I thank you all for your bravery and help, and I wish to ask permission...to remain here. Where the people are most strange ...but also most kind.”
“You don’t need our permission,” Raven said calmly.
“But if you want our friendship, you've got it.” Robin added.
“I could use a new friend,” you say with a wink.
“Guess we could all use some new friends.” Cyborg agrees.
“Besides, we kind of made a good team.” Beast Boy says proudly.
“I thought we might want to keep in touch, so Cyborg and I designed these.” Robin fished out four black and yellow communicators. You, Raven, Beast Boy, and Starfire each took one and observed them. They were similar to flip phones, but they were circular and had no logo on the front.
“Made ‘em outta my own circuits, '' Cyborg said proudly.
“When there’s trouble, you know who to call,” Robin said. You all smiled at one another. You were a team.
Epilogue
While everyone else was still smiling at one another, you excused yourself and walked a few feet away. You opened your new communicator, dialing in a phone number you know by heart. You waited for the person on the other line to pick up, and began to speak.
“Heyyy dad. It’s (y/n); you must have been worried sick, I’m sorry… Yeah no I’m fine, really. I’m in uhhh Jump City and I made some of the coolest friends and I was wondering... if I could stay here? I’ve been spending the whole night wanting to go back home, but I think this might be home for me. I understand if- oh? Really? You’ll let me stay? Wow, thanks dad. I-I promise that I’ll be careful and that I’ll go to school here, I know there's this high school called Murakami School I’ll try to… I love you too dad. I’ll talk to you later.”
You flip your communicator closed, and walked back to your new friends. Raven looked at you.
“Are you alright?” she asked, noticing your change in mood.
“Yeah,” you say, a smile forming on your face. “I’m great actually. Just had to call home.”
“You're going home???” Beast Boy asked, a frown falling on his face.
You chuckled, “Of course not.” You lightly punched his shoulder. “Besides, this is my home now.”
“Awe Yeah!” the green guy cheered. You laugh, feeling extra cheerful. Now that you’re in a team, you really do feel like you belong. You looked at your new team.
“Anyone up for pizza?”

I See You
Idol: Lee Gahyeon (Dreamcatcher)
Anon: saw u say criminal lack of gahyeon requests so thought i'd try? maybe 8th member reader always babying the maknae? gahyeon loves the attention but also gets kinda sad+worried reader will never see her as more than that, so tries ways to make reader notice her as the grown woman (with a crush) she is. bonus could be a fellow unnie line member exasperatedly telling reader that none of them look at gahyeon like That, or in some way knocking sense into her about her [obvious] feelings. thank uuu <3
A/n: this was so long ago and i wanted to write got Gahyeon so bad but only managed this now i am so sorry
☕buy me a coffee☕
Tumblr media
It was rare for the dorm to be as peaceful as it was now. Typically, two or three of the members would be running around, laughing or teasing, in Bora’s case, the other members just to have a bit of fun.
But right now, it looked like the dancer was out to visit her family whilst Minji went to her own home. Siyeon explained that she wanted to go out and do something fun, prompting Yoohyeon to tag along when she asked if they could head to the arcade. Handong and Yubin were the only ones aside from you and the maknae that were left in the dorm, doing your own things and just resting before your schedule would start to be full of practices and recordings.
“Aren’t you bored, Gahyeon?” Said girl looked up from her position, her head resting peacefully against your chest as your fingers gently ran through her soft locks, soothing her more than she already was as she hummed. “Not really. We’re always so busy, so it’s nice to have some time for ourselves.”
There’s a quiet cough somewhere and Gahyeon’s eyes immediately land on Handong as she gives her a look that made the maknae’s face flush red before she looked away and buried her face to your chest, making your other arm wrap gently around her waist just to keep her close.
“That’s true. I hope you aren’t wearing yourself out. You know I worry a lot about you, kiddo.”
Kiddo.
As endearing as it was, Gahyeon couldn’t help the pout on her lips and the way her cheeks puff up as she nodded her head just so you couldn’t see her face.
Yubin raised a brow at the display and Handong simply shook her head with how Gahyeon sulked in your arms without you even realizing just how infatuated the younger girl was of you.
A lot of times they wonder if you didn’t really reciprocate the maknae’s feelings and were just being too nice to reject her, but often times, they could tell that you were just as dense as a brick and that it would take hitting you with one with a confession written on it to know just how badly the dark haired girl was smitten with you.
Basically everyone in the dorm could see the heart eyes thrown your way and Bora was ready to tear her hair out with just how hopeless you both were.
It was frustrating to say the least.
By the time everyone else arrived at the dorm, they were all surprised to see both you and Gahyeon fast asleep on the couch, legs tangled together while you held the maknae safely in your arms while her face ended up tucked under your chin.
Bora was about to make a comment, but Siyeon had covered her mouth in time when she saw the look on her face and Minji quickly whipped out her phone to steal a few pictures.
“They’ve been like this for majority of the day.” Handong informed the late comers and Yoohyeon gently put her bag down. “Did they finally...?” Yoohyeon looked hopeful as she turned to the two, but with a shake of Yubin’s head, her lips formed into a pout while Bora sighed in exasperation before she pushed Siyeon’s hand away from her face. “Of course not.”
Minji looked to the two of you and chuckled before she turned to the rest of the group. “Leave them be. As tiring as it is to wait around, how about we get started on dinner and fix up?”
“But I’m tired!” Siyeon complained while taking a seat, raising her legs to rest against the armrest before the eldest gently spanked one of her feet when the younger girl tried to flail them around. “Come on. Sua and I will be in charge of the kitchen so there’s four of you to help each other out.” The leader reasoned and they knew that there was no escaping.
“Maybe I should go to sleep, then maybe I don’t have to clean up, too.”
The glare from Bora made the wolf shut her mouth and pout before begrudgingly heading off to place her things in her room and then proceed to clean up, the others following after her as Minji headed for the kitchen to get started with the dinner preparations.
With the girls bustling about the dorm, they made sure not to disturb either you or the maknae even with the amount of times Siyeon was tempted to do so. You eventually wake up to the smell of kimchi and the sound of footsteps going about, accompanied by the occasional clanking of pans and utensils.
“Well, well, well, look who’s awake.” Yoohyeon said teasingly as she threw away the tissue she had used to wipe the juice she accidentally spilled. “What time is it?” You question groggily, rubbing your eyes with one hand while your other arm stayed wrapped around the girl still fast asleep next to you.
“It’s a little past six-thirty, unnie.” Yubin answers as She and Siyeon set up the table and you look over to Gahyeon, smiling as you tuck her hair behind her ear before slowly getting off the couch so as to not wake her from her peaceful slumber.
The action, however, does not go unnoticed by your members present in the room with you.
“Is there anything I can help with? I didn’t realize we were sleeping for so long.” You offer just as Bora walked in, placing the bowl of kimchi rice on the table. “Just wash up. We’re almost done, you can wake Gahyeon after you finish.” She informed you and you nod obediently before heading to your and Yubin’s shared room.
A light chuckle from Handong made the others shake their head while the two eldest looked over in confusion. “What?” Bora asked and Siyeon took a seat while shrugging her shoulders. “Just Y/n being Y/n while Gahyeon is sleeping.”
..
Watching from the corner of the room, the maknae let out a heavy breath as she watched you practicing with Minji and Handong. It was in these that she just couldn’t help as her admiration for you came out. Despite your sweaty and tired looking figure, you were still bright and full of life.
“Why don’t you just tell her?” Startled, Gahyeon looked over to find the big puppy watching the three of you as well, a drink in her hand as she took a seat and the younger girl pouted. “It isn’t that easy. What if unnie doesn’t even like girls?” She countered, making the latter scoff.
“Unnie accepts proposals from female fans more than male fans. She’s also been very expressive about how she supports the community, so I doubt that she would be upset with you if she ever doesn’t feel the same.” Yoohyeon explains, yet it didn’t seem enough to convice her friend as she watched you with a wistful look across her face.
“But she just sees me as a friend. There’s no way she feels the same.” She said with a deep sigh and Yoohyeon rolled her eyes before shaking her head, knowing that whatever she tried to say, the younger girl would find a way to prevent herself from hoping that her feelings would be reciprocated.
While Gahyeon watched you pour your energy into the choreography, the sharpness in your movements and the fierceness in your expressions, it made her think just what was it that she needed to let you know that she liked you more than just an unnie.
This time around, your hair was dyed blonde, similar to Siyeon’s, while Yoohyeon and Minji both had red hair. The music video turned out more interesting than any of you thought it would be, and Gahyeon was sure she was even more smitten with you when she watched you acting throughout.
“That’s it!”
Yoohyeon was startled by the maknae’s sudden outburst and covered her ears. “Yah! Lower your volume!” She scolded, but the latter was too excited when she started to shake the big puppy’s arm. “I know how to get unnie’s attention!” She proclaimed and the latter had no choice but to listen, earning Siyeon’s attention when she looked over.
“What are you talking about?” The main vocalist questioned as Gahyeon grabbed her phone. “Unnie babies me because I let her. Then all I have to do is to make her think otherwise.” The pair blinked as the maknae began to look through some of the past conversations she’s had with you on Kakao.
“I don’t think-”
“Let her be. I think it could work.” Siyeon quickly cut the taller woman off with a wide grin, excited to run off and tell Bora about what was about to happen while Yubin was sure to shake her head in disappointment, but that just made this another typical day with Dreamcatcher.
..
Once practice was over, you groan while plopping on the ground, towel draped over your face as you let your arms sprawl on your sides. Handong takes a seat by you, laughing as she nudged your leg, making you pull at the towel to look at her. “You shouldn’t be laying on the floor or you’re going to get sick.” The older woman stated, but you huff before rolling on your stomach to look at her.
“I’m tired.” You whine at your Chinese friend. “Unnie is right though. You shouldn’t lay on the floor like that.” The maknae walked up to both of you, handing you bottles before you thank her and take a large gulp.
“How are you not tired, though? This choreography is torture!” You ask, wide eyed as you set the bottle down and Gahyeon puffs her chest proudly. “This is nothing! I guess all the practices have made me more comfortable with our dances.” She boasts, making Handong’s brows raise because she remembers clearly how the younger girl kept whining about how sore her legs were whenever they were in their room.
But before she could call her out for it, you were already sitting up, eyes shining as you beamed at the maknae. "That's good to hear! I'm so proud of you!" You cheer while reaching out to ruffle her hair affectionately, making the girl groan before lightly pushing your hand away despite wanting to just snuggle against it.
"Unnie, come on, I'm not a kid anymore." She tells you when you laugh. "I know, I know. Sometimes I'm honestly surprised with how much you've grown. I'm happy to know that you're becoming a responsible and independent woman." You tell her before Handong could see the way the maknae's cheeks flushed red at your comment and a laugh bubbled from her throat when you checked your phone as it vibrated.
Gahyeon felt her stomach drop when your face lit up to see a text from someone and you checked around before calling for your leader. "Unnie, can I leave early today?"
"What for?"
"Yeeun just texted me and she was asking if we could hang out. Apparently they just finished their schedule." You inform them and Gahyeon immediately felt panic swell up in her chest when she notices the excitement in your tone. "I guess you can. We only need to polish a bit more, so we can most likely finish sooner."
Gahyeon silently watches as you text the other rapper, envy and disappointment coursing through her veins before you were hopping to your feet and appearing to be filled with newfound energy, enough to make her pout because she knew that she was your energy pill.
“I’ll go with you. I’ve been meaning to catch up with Elkie.” Handong piped up and you nod your head. “Let me tell her.” Gahyeon looked at the Chinese woman in distress before she shrugged her shoulders, not knowing what she could do.
Eventually, you were able to finish sooner like Minji said and both you and Handong prepared to meet with your friends. “See you later!” You waved after tying your hair and then grabbing your favorite cap. “Be safe!” Bora called out. “Have fun! Bring home food please.” Yubin added and you throw her a playful grin before exiting, missing the defeated look on the maknae’s face as you did.
..
While you and Handong walk to the restaurant Yeeun told you about, the latter lightly bumps your shoulder with hers. “You and Gahyeon have been really clingy lately.” She teases and your smile widens subconsciously as you shake her head. “I’m clingy with everyone. You know I love Gahyeon a lot, just like you and the others.”
To further prove your point, you cling to her arm and press the side of your face against it.
The brunette laughed as she shook her head and held your hand. “I know that, but it feels like you have a lot more love to give.” She explains while looking ahead and you blink in confusion before she glanced at you. “Oh, don’t look at me like that. It’s been obvious that you like Gahyeon.”
“What do you mean? Of course I like her! What’s not to like?” You shot back, confusion laced in your tone and Handong had to stop as she stared at you in disbelief. “Are you being serious?” She questioned and you stood like a deer caught in headlights.
Handong let out a sigh before pinching the bridge of her nose as she urged you to keep walking. “And I thought we were making progress with you.” You whine at her comment, asking what she meant, but the older woman says nothing until you reach the restaurant and locate your friends at a table.
“Unnie! It’s great to see you again.” Yeeun stood to hug both of you before she stepped away and Elkie did the same. “I feel like we haven’t seen in forever.” She jokes and you all sit down. “We’re going to be seeing each other a lot during promotions, so you’re going to get tired of us soon enough.” Handong shot back with a laugh.
Yeeun turned to you with a wide grin, patting your hand excitedly. “You have to tell us what’s going on with you! The last time we met, we didn’t get to talk much. How are you and Gahyeon?” She fired off question after question and you laugh whilst your member rolled her eyes. “Gahyeon and I are fine, we’re getting ready for the comeback, so we’re kind of busy.”
However, your answer wasn’t enough to satisfy the younger woman’s curiosity. “Oh, come on, no need to be so modest, unnie. Are you guys finally going out?” You were surprised by Elkie’s question and shook your head, your cheeks turning pink as you waved your hands, laughing in embarrassment.
“What are you talking about? Gahyeon and I aren’t dating.” You tell them, much to their disappointment, and Handong lets out a sigh. “Y/n is too dense to notice anything.” She stated while the two CLC members looked at you. “But we’ve been talking about it for so long already! How are you not catching up?”
“Look, I love Gahyeon and I admire her a lot, but that doesn’t mean I like her that way.” But none of the three seem convinced, Handong even hitting your arm. “We’ve seen the way you look at her and I’m honestly amazed she hasn’t told you yet.”
“You’re such an idiot, unnie!” Yeeun groaned as she laid her head on the table and you give her an offended look. “Yah! What did I do?” You ask them while Elkie chuckled and shook her head, turning to her friend. “You weren’t joking about her being dense as hell.”
“I’m right here.” You intervened and Handong waved you off. “If only you were this attentive to Gahyeon’s feelings.” She shook her head while the other two pouted. “I feel bad for her, now. It must be so frustrating.”
“Come on, Y/n. You keep saying that, but let’s face it. None of us look at Gahyeon the way you do, and we don’t shower her in the same amount of affection that you do. You also aren’t as affectionate to others like that.”
Elkie nodded her head in agreement as Yeeun grinned at you. “We’ve seen videos and we’ve also seen you behind the cameras. Handong unnie isn’t wrong.” She claimed while you sat there, completely dumbfounded.
Have you really been blind this whole time?
Of course you treated Gahyeon with as much care as possible and babied her, but that was because she was the maknae of the group and you had always felt the need to look after her.
Though that didn’t change the fact that you would always look for her when she was absent and constantly want to be close.
“I think we broke her.” Yeeun said worriedly as they all looked at you while you started to stare a hole into the table. “I really must be stupid.” You groan while burying your face to your hands and the other three burst into laughter at your state before your member patted your back. “That’s alright, we already knew that.”
Later when you get back to the dorm, Handong goes to the bathroom to freshen up while you quietly made your way to the sleeping maknae, brows pinched together as you saw her peaceful face.
“How long were you planning on waiting for me to say something?” You whispered while gently brushing her hair back, smiling at how her body instantly reacted to your touch. “I promise, I’ll make it all up to you in the morning. I hope you sleep well, princess.”
Right before you could get off her bed, you feel a small tug at the back of your shirt, followed by a tiny voice. “You already made me wait this long, are you really going to make me wait longer?” She asked sleepily, pout evident on her features before you giggled and leaned down to kiss her forehead.
“I’ll ask you properly when you’re awake.” But she shakes her head in protest, her eyes fighting to stay awake as she kept her hold on your shirt. “Ask me now.” And you couldn’t help but coo at how adorable she was.
“Gahyeon-ah, I’ve been a big idiot but I hope you know that I really like you, too. And if you don’t mind, I’d like to take you out sometime?” The corners of her lips quirk up and she nods her head, satisfied. “Okay, but can you sleep next to me tonight?” She asks. “I want to cuddle you after you left with Dong unnie.”
And honestly, who were you to deny her that? Especially when she looked too cute for her own good.

Recently, there has been this SM staff who suddenly became famous among to other staffs. It’s no secret that she’s been the content of the mundane talk of other people within the vicinity. Well for one, it’s because she was extremely talented, new, graduate from abroad and the most infamous one was because, for once, Jisung the ever-shy boy around girls is very comfortable around you. He’s not even very subtle at hiding his adoration towards you.
Ever since you started working in the company it was no surprise that you were extremely approachable despite the fact that you were extremely shy at first. People really adore you for your sincere nature and your genuine heart. That’s why it’s not even a mystery why the NCT maknae was so drawn towards you, however, with that being said, so does the other NCT members.
At first, it was Johnny who was very blatant at showing that he found you adorable, and considering that both of you are very familiar with what is it like to live abroad you quickly click and become comfortable with each other. Then there’s Jaehyun who has his ways of charming people towards him, and then Mark Lee who was unquestionably very friendly and comfortable to be around. Despite the fact that many people swarm their way towards you, you are good at keeping your safe distance, never going beyond what is considered unprofessional which is why you perplexed one person in particular.
He noticed how despite being friendly and tending to other people, you have your subtle way of putting lines between you and them. It’s like you can read other people’s intentions without making them uncomfortable of knowing what was their agenda, that’s why he kept a safe distance from you. Not because he doesn’t want to be close to you, but because he wanted to be able to pass through the walls that you built around you.
With that being said, he just quietly observe from afar, silently studying what he should do, what were these people doing wrong, why despite their attempt you still have that tall wall around you, how should he do things right to win your favor without a single restraint as you have with others.
“Noona!” the maknae exclaimed after seeing you emerged from the curtain behind, today you were assigned as their photographer, it was one of SM’s marketing strategies for their upcoming comeback and you couldn’t be more excited to work with all of the members. They were always with their units, but today, SM decided to have all of them merge.
“Jisung-ah!” you replied and gave the youngest a warm hug, which doesn’t go unnoticed by the brooding man at the back, silently throwing daggers towards your direction, his make-up artist is not so fond as well at his sudden long face expression. “ Have you been well? “ you asked adoringly.
“Yah, what this eyebags, you stay up all night didn’t you?” you playfully scolded him. Jisung suddenly grew embarrassed and even a little guilty at disappointing you.
“ 밥 먹었어요?” (Bap meogeoseoyo) you asked the boy. He just shakes his head as a no and you scoffed at his answer. “그래, 알았어, Let’s eat after this, Noona’s treat” (Grae, arasseo) you said then patted the young boy’s back which earns a delighted smile at his end. On the other hand, someone was not very happy at the scene that unfolded before his eyes. How come, that the ever wallflower Jisung managed to win you over, the only women he laid eyes who doesn’t flatter at other people’s advances towards her. Even the oh-so-great flirt Yuta didn’t manage to have you swoon over your feet.
He was snapped back to life when other Dream members started to tease Jisung because of his encounter with you. Jaemin was the loudest to utter ‘Our Jisung-a is no longer a baby boy huh” Jisung only rolled his eyes and utter how they don’t make sense and how other members were saying the most rubbish, and weirdest non-sense ever. Starting from that day he started to make his own move at making his effort of getting close to you. Doesn’t matter if he can’t break your walls because he’s more than willing to climb it just to get to you.
*****************************************
Weeks have past and he can already see the progress within your relationship, you were warmer to him than before, you would even greet him first when you do happen to crossway in the hallway. He was also almost confident that you favor him an extra bit more than the others. You were usually shy with other members, would wait for them to acknowledge you first but with him, you would say hi first once in a while. He even became more confident when you asked him first to help you get to know the city when he’s free until it became your thing to invite one another to visit a shop that has only been open recently.
The keyword was almost.
Once their photoshoot from last month was initially released you were relentless at showering Jisung with a compliment. Telling him how proud you were with him, how handsome he looks at some shots. The breaking point was when you told him that you will treat him, AGAIN, with a meal.
“Let’s celebrate this, there’s this restaurant that just open, we should try it” you beamed happily to the boy, even snaking your hand around his right arm. He couldn’t bear the sight, he knows it’s wrong for him to feel hostile towards the youngest member but at this point, he is beyond his rationality. “I want to come to!” he said way too loudly and too aggressive than his normal tone.
All eyes were now focused towards him, shocked at his sudden outburst. But the thing that’s been running in his mind was the fact that he can’t let you be alone with another man that’s not him. He was only starting to build his way at winning you, he can’t let other men have an advance in his game.
Meal with a new restaurant was our thing.
Midnight stroll in the city was our thing.
Going out to visit a new store was our thing.
He’s missing something. Do you like younger boys? Was the problem was his age? Was that it? Was that the reason why you always pin over Jisung despite other members pine over you? He thought you were getting along. He almost even thought that his feelings towards you were starting to cease from being one-sided.
“Oh sure, no problem with that Taeyong Hyung, you can always tag along whenever,” the young boy said, completely oblivious to the way Taeyong’s eyes were raking your form as if he would take you right there and there. You on the other hand found his outburst peculiar and very out of character.
*****************************************
Starting from that day, Taeyong was more obvious at dropping hints towards his affection. He’s no longer subtle at giving you compliments. The members were not oblivious to this, the moment that Taeyong made his affection towards you obvious, was the moment the other member took it as a cue to back off. They never really saw their leader took an interest in anyone, he’s always too busy to take care of everyone that he always neglect to fend for his own self, so when started to become all puppy eyes whenever you are around, follow you everywhere you go, do everything just to get your attention from bringing your files for you up to the littlest things and reason just to be with you, they knew you were now a serious deal.
Taeyong may have made things obvious, but whatever it is that’s going on between the two of you, it was never confirmed nor denied verbally.
Taeyong always made sure to be pinned in the hip with you whenever he had the chance. May it be the time where you visit their practice room to disseminate some information, may it be the time that they’re free and just casually chilling at the cafeteria, Taeyong would even bring you a drink every chance he got, staying at your station just to casually hang around in a place where you were doing your own things, so basically you were dating without actually being said to be dating.
People around the company started to suspect that there’s something going on between the two of you. Interns who have shown their interest towards you were always warned that you were already Taeyong’s and it would be in their best interest to find someone else than bother you because Taeyong might be the sweetest guy, but boy was he possessive as hell.
There was even one time where an innocent intern was too close to you for Taeyong’s liking and behold, it was the first that everyone witnessed his possessiveness. He wouldn’t keep his hand off of your waist. He would constantly be glued at your side, towering whoever comes in your way, intimidating every single employee who would just approach you. He might not verbally tell them to get lost, but his intimidating aura alone is enough to send them off.
And that was the time that everyone knew better than jeopardize you and Taeyong. It might never be officially stated that the two of you were an item but he’s an idol, and they would never vocally nor announce publicly that they were dating, even if it’s only inside the company. Nevertheless, the way he was behaving around you was enough to show that you were indeed his, and his alone.
*****************************************
Everything was well, the day was bright, everyone was just having fun, well that’s until someone was having TOO much fun without HIM being by your side. Taeyong doesn’t appreciate the fact that Jisung’s hand was around your shoulder and that you were laughing way too loudly for his liking at to what the maknae was saying. And the fact that you were bare except for your beachwear right now doesn’t make anything better. Seeing other people, especially men, holding your skin like that irks him in so many ways.
“Jisung-a, we’re having too much fun here are we” the innocent boy can only smile towards his Hyung completely oblivious to the sarcasm that coated his statement.
“Oh Hyung, annyeong!” he greeted. “Neh, I was just telling Noona about that time where we skipped and spent all day in the city” he laughed. “Pretty much risky, isn’t it Noona” the boy beamed looking down on you. You on the other hand catch a glimpse of how Taeyong was basically shaking and gawking his eyes on the hand that is around your shoulder.
“Jisung-a,” you said sweetly, which made Taeyong even more annoyed than he already is. He narrowed his eyes and gritted his teeth and it shows with the way how his jaw clenched. “Neh?” Jisung responded, almost too endearing if you asked others' perspectives. But Taeyong’s foul mood is too palpable that you can’t help but acknowledge it. “Maybe you should find Chenle first and...” you haven’t able to finish whatever you were saying because Taeyong basically tears you off from Jisung’s arm and drag away from the shore towards one of resort’s room.
When you’re completely away from the eyes of anyone you were surprised when Taeyong pin you harshly towards the wall, eyes were almost popping from its socket, his boba eyes which everyone adored were replaced with something predatory.
“Were you really oblivious towards what I feel even after making it too fcking obvious or do you really just want to play all too naive and innocent? What are playing Y/N?” he said while carefully caressing your cheeks, despite the fact that he does it so gently it feels like it’s burning because the way of how he’s body is basically restricting him from losing control all at once. You can feel his breath fanning the side of your cheeks.
You gulp loudly not expecting that this is the way Taeyong would finally burst. “Or are you just nasty and enjoyed being called Noona?” he said lips almost touching yours but not enough to actually have contact. His hand slowly traveled towards your delicate neck. “I can also call you Noona you know” he said, almost like a growl. “If that’s what you want if that’s what I’ve been missing all this time, so tell me Y/N, why do you always have the knack of pissing me off through Jisung”.
You on the other hand were too lost with how close your body is with his and the fact that he’s basically manhandling you right now. You wanted to chuckle at how unreasonable he is but at the same time also too aroused to actually compose a coherent answer.
“Answer me or I will force it out of you, you minx” he tightened his grip on your neck. Part of you want to test his patience and the other just wanted to submit, you decided to choose the first one.
“Maybe you haven’t marked what yours properly” you answered hoarsely and Taeyong’s eyes darkened because of your answer. He quickly smashed his lips to yours and one thing lead to another. The last thing you know he’s already giving your neck a hickey, a big and very prominent one you can tell with the way of how hard he was sucking and biting your neck.
Before things can go too far a figure appeared in your peripheral vision which caused you to push Taeyong off of you. Taeyong on the other hand looked too perplexed but when he saw the person cause of your awestruck state, he grew smug.
“Eww, Noona! I know you and Taeyong were now basically a thing but” Jisung exclaimed pointing at your neck looking dumbfounded, “good luck at telling Appa where does that thing came from because I’m basically not telling that my sister is doing the dirty with my leader Hyung” he said leaving the two of you. But even at the end of the hall, you can both heard him murmuring to himself how he can’t believe that his Noona is not as innocent as he thought you were.
Meanwhile, Taeyong looks so perplexed, he just looked at you with a puzzled expression silently begging for an answer.
“Jisung is my dongsaeng you know, I can’t believe you just got jealous of my baby brother, and the maknae of your group” you scoffed. Lightly fixing your dress. “And definitely don’t expect that of all people he would be the one to walk in on us” Taeyong on the other hand look so lost, you can see in his feature some trace of regret, humiliation, guilt but you can only smile at his dumbfound state.
“To answer your question earlier, it’s not like you don’t make things obvious, it’s just that you don’t make it vocal so it’s not like I can really say anything other than what you show” you shrugged trying to bring him out from his dazed.
“Hello? earth to Taeyong?” he remained silent. You decide to say something to finally snapped him out of it. “Since you have already stolen a kiss from me, which is, by the way, my first kiss, and you as well basically already mark me, are finally going to ACTUALLY ask me to be your girlfriend?” still none “or should I finally take that carnival date with Yuta?” that might have done the trick because Taeyong held you by your waist with the blink of an eye. Looking at you hungrily before giving you another kiss, this time it’s sweeter and more sensual than the first time.
“You are only mine, jagiya” he said, and you wonder how can he look so feral just a moment ago, and now he looked so ethereal and cute with his toothy smile.

Alternately imagine Loki messing up and turning the reader into a kid and being so conflicted bc ew kids but aw ur so nice and sweet
Hello, I’m not dead, and the Loki trailer has breathed new life into me, and I’m taking Advantage of that by trying to write more this year! Go easy on me, I’m rusty. I hope you enjoy this little prompt!
Rating: G
W/C: 1561
TW: none
A/N: Watch Wandavision if you haven’t already!
When Loki had asked you to help them work on some spells, you’d expected you’d be mostly providing commentary. Deciding if the outcomewas what Loki had intended, suggesting what to do to make the spells moreeffective, that sort of thing.
And to be fair, it hadstarted out that way.
And then Loki had misread a spell, and the next thing youknew, Loki was towering over you, and you were all but two, a little dazed andvery confused.
Naturally, you did the only thing your newly re-toddleredbrain could do.
You started to cry.
Loki, it seemed, did notappreciate this new turn of events, and the longer they stared at you inblatant disbelief and uncertainty, the more upset it made you, and the nextthing either of you knew, you were absolutely wailing.
The sound alone was enough to have everyone who wascurrently home run into the training room.
“….is that Y/N?” Steve asked, after a long moment of silenceas everyone tried to piece together what happened.
“…yes,” Loki admitted, defeat evident in their voice.
“…Y/N’s a baby?” Nat sounded just as bewildered as Stevelooked, and Loki could only pinch the bridge of their nose.
“Yes, very well spotted, Romanoff. We were practicingspells. I was practicing spells, andI must have said something the wrong way. Asgardian spells are very particular.”
“Make Y/N stop crying!”
“Me?!”
“You did it!”
“Not on purpose!”
While Nat and Loki bickered, it made you only the morefussy, and you continued to wail, as you no longer had the skill set, or thevocabulary, to try and help or figure out what happened and how to help.
Steve picked up on this easily, and was quick to shut theboth of them down. “Arguing isn’t going to help matters, and you’re making Y/Nmore upset. Loki, do you have a way to fix this?”
“If I did, don’t you’d think I’d have done it already?”
Steve opted not to take the bait, and instead heaved a sigh.“Will it wear off?”
“…theoretically. But I don’t know how long until it will.”
“Alright. So in the meantime, Y/N’s a baby. Babies don’ttake care of themselves, so… someone else has to.”
“Not it,” Natasha was quick to respond, already headed forthe door, leaving only Steve, Bruce, and Wanda to stare at you.
“…I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to look after Y/N, given…” Bruce waved his hands in a vaguegesture, but it got the point across.
“Well, I think Loki should do it. Loki caused it, after all.”
Steve looked at Loki, who only glowered in response. “…Notto take sides, but Wanda does have apoint.”
“…fine. But you should know that children and I do not mix, and if anything else happens toY/N, it’s on you.”
“Sure, but if anything happens to Y/N, it’ll be when the skyturns purple, because everyone in this compound knows you’d never do a thing tohurt Y/N.”
You and Loki both knew Steve had a point, and as everyoneleft the room again, so that it was just the two of you, and by now, you’dcalmed down enough that you were no longer wailing, but instead having a nice, pouty little sniffle.
Loki didn’t look any happier at this improvement, andhesitantly approached you, lowering themself to sit down in front of you asthey watched you.
“…I mean it. I’m not good with kids.”
You only pouted more, crossing your arms over your chest asyou kept watching Loki.
“…stop that.”
“Top dat,” you shot back, unable to stop yourself frommocking them.
“Y/N, really.”
“Y/N, weawy.”
“…if you’re trying to make me think you’re cute, it isn’tgoing to work.” All the same, you could see the slightest little smile on theirface.
“I am coot.”
“….you aren’t going to make this any easier for me, are you.”
“Mmmmmmmno.” And you grinned, a cheeky little grin that, despite the change in age, was enough like the old you to make Loki laugh abit.
“Let’s get one thing straight, though, I don’t change ragsor whatever it is human babies wear here, so you’ll be doing all of that onyour own.”
“I’m two!”
“….then we’ll have Steve do it.”
“Fine.”
“Fine.”
The both of you settled into a long, somewhere comfortablesilence, broken only when you spoke up in your tiny little toddler voice. “How wongam I gonna be wike this?”
Loki’s face fell a bit, making it obvious that they weretruly a little out of their depth this time. “…I don’t know. It could be hours,or days, or even weeks.”
“Weeks?!” Youshrieked, which sounded much funnier in a two-year-old voice than you hadintended it to.
“…It won’t take weeks. If it’s not worn off by tomorrowmorning, I’ll start looking through my texts and seeing if I can’t findsomething to reverse it.”
“………..otay.”
You fell into another long silence, and you took theopportunity to push yourself up onto your feet, trying to gain your bearingsand figure out how to maneuver yourself now. Eventually, you got the hang ofit, and you took to walking circles around Loki, just trying to pass the time,as though it might help the spell fix itself if you were being more active.
“What are you doing, Y/N?” Loki asked, watching you withjust your eyes every time you came into their line of vision.
“Passing da time.”
“…right.” Loki fell silent again, and pulled their phone outof their pocket, fiddling around with it for a bit, and you saw anotheropportunity to be annoying, and took it without a second thought.
“Yoo got games on yoow phone?”
As you erupted into laughter, Loki, unappreciative of thehumor, only looked at you as they deadpanned. “You know I don’t.”
“Ya, cebause yoow bowing.”
“I’m not boring, Ijust don’t see the point.”
“It’s fun.”
“You can have fun without playing games on your phone.”
“Yeah, so?”
Loki, clearly wanting to change the subject so they would nolonger be grilled by a two-year-old, put their phone away and stood. “How aboutlunch? Are you hungry?”
That gave you pause, and you stopped, thinking for a moment.“…I could eat.”
“Perfect. Let’s go.” Without thinking about it, Loki startedto walk off, and you stared after them, offended that they didn’t remember youwere now much smaller and therefore walked much more unsteadily.
“Hey!”
Loki turned around to look at you. “What now, Y/N?” You could tell Loki wasn’treally as annoyed as they were trying to act like they were, given the slightedge of concern in their voice.
“Tha’s a long wawk!”
“…and?”
“I’m two!” Youwere starting to wonder how many times you’d have to remind Loki of this.
“…what, do you want me to carry you?”
“Ya!”
Loki narrowed their eyes as they considered you, and youlooked back, smiling innocently as you held your arms out. There was no way you were going to make any bit ofthis easy for Loki; a small bit of payback for being turned into a toddler.
Loki heaved a sigh that was dramatic, even for them, andwent back to you, picking you up and settling you on their hip rather easily, for someone who claimed not to be fond of children. “Not a word of this to the others, are we understood?”
“Mm…. Maybe,” was your only response, and Loki was smartenough to realize that that was the best they were going to get.
Twenty minutes later, and you were happily munching your waythrough your favorite sandwich, feet kicking in the space between the chair andthe ground, as your feet no longer reached.
“Are you happier now?” Loki asked, once you’d finished yoursandwich, and loudly finished the last of the juice box Loki had found for youin the fridge.
“Yah! Tank oo.”
“…you’re welcome.” Loki kept watching you as you set theempty juice box down, and rubbed at your eyes, yawning a bit. “….naptime?”
“….fow someone who doesn’t wike kids, yoo seem to know whatyoow doin’…”
“Yes, well. I do read a lot.”
You allowed Loki to pick you up and carry you over to thecouch, but when they tried to set you down, you whined.
“Nooooooo!”
“What do you mean ‘no’?”
“Noooooo!” youinsisted, and Loki heaved what had to have been the hundredth sigh since you’dbeen toddlerized.
“Y/N, you know I don’t do cuddling, even when we’re bothnormal.”
You gave your absolute, very best puppy dog eyes, hoping youwould be able to sway Loki, and much to your amusement, it seemed to work, asthey gave their hundred-and-first sigh.
“…you’re spoiled,”Loki grumped, with very little actual grumpiness in their voice, and they letyou settled comfortably against their shoulder, watching as you relaxed. “Not aword to the others.”
“Ya, ya, I know…”you mumbled, already halfway to sleep.
Loki said nothing else, only patted your back gently as youdrifted off to sleep.
And a half hour later, when the rest of the team came in tofind the both of you nodded off together, they didn’t have the heart to wakeeither of you.

CRUSH AT FIRST SIGHT {2}
Kim Mingyu x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ Day 2]
Yesterday was pretty fun honestly. I woke up and checked my phone and saw two missed calls from Gyu and some texts too. I opened them.
Mingyu : hey y/n why aren’t you picking up
Are you sleeping?
Are you coming today?
When are you coming?
Aaaaa why aren’t you waking up!!!!
I smiled seeing him whining I quickly texted him that I was going and started getting ready. I picked out a pretty dress for today. I usually don’t wear dresses but I don’t know why I wanted to get ready. It took me around 50 minutes to get ready and then I left. I grabbed my coffee as regular and reached my uni. To my surprise Mingyu was waiting in front of the gate. When he saw me he rushed to me with a big smile.
“Why are you so late I was waiting for you so long? And why don’t you answer your phone, I wanted to ask you actually to go and pick you up”, he stopped cause he was breathless after speaking so much without a break. I giggled how someone can be this cute.
He spoke again, “Did anyone said how pretty you are?”
His sudden compliment kind of made me choke on air. I was looking at him speechless.
“ Aigooooo you are cute when you are surprised”, he said and patted my hair. I blushed and looked down. He continued,” by the way let’s go everyone is waiting”.
“Yeah sure let’s go”, I said and started walking hastily. One more day and then he will be gone and my bright days will end too. I will once again get into those gloomy days. We reached others and they too complimented my dress and then we planned out how to enjoy the day. Since everyone has different choices we decided to split into 4 teams so we can all enjoy comfortably.
Cheol, Jeonghan and Jun decided to go and try different games.
DK, Dino, Woozi and Hoshi decided to go watch those dance performances and other cultural events.
Wonwoo and Vernon decided to visit the video game parlour.
Seungkwan, Minghao , me and Mingyu decided on trying out different food and attend the literary fest.
So everyone went their own way and we went ours. The first place we went to was a great sushi stall and we enjoyed there a lot. We started roaming randomly and teased each other a lot. And then we all ganged up and teased Mingyu. It was literally my best day. Like yesterday Mingyu didn’t left me for a moment.
When we were sitting at a pizza place some guys kind of were staring at me so Mingyu got off and moved his chair so they can’t see. I wish all guys were like him. I tried to not think like that or else I would get hurt. Our pizza arrived and we started to eat. And suddenly Minghao spoke up, “Well kwan have you noticed anything?”
Seungkwan was surprised and replied, “ what hyung?”
Minghao smirked and we all looked at each other when he spoke again, “That Mingyu is being a little more active these days and he woke up today without even calling him and got ready first”. He looked at Mingyu who for no reason started stuffing his mouth and avoided Minghao.
Seungkwan replied, “ yeah I too am noticing him he is even smiling to himself and is humming all day-“ . He was stopped when mingyu pushed a pizza slice in his mouth and spoke” Yah why are you lying like this”, he turned to me and said,” y/n don’t listen to them they are speaking gibbereish”.
“ yeah yeah y/n don’t listen to us only listen to him”, Minghao teased and continued eating.
I looked at Mingyu who was pretty flustered and avoided my eyes. I too ignored them and continued eating. I don’t want to involve myself much or else it might turn worse for me.
They keep teasing Mingyu about being in love and thinking about some girl. All I did was eating and smiling from time to time.
After we completed we decided to return. Seungkwan was still teasing Mingyu so they were kind of walking a bit ahead and I and Minghao were walking behind them.
Minghao spoke,” y/n can I ask you something?”.
I was a bit shocked like what he wants to ask and then I nodded.
“Do you like anyone?”, he said looking at me.
What was this question,” umm depends why you are asking”, I replied.
“Nothing I am just kind of curious”, he said.
“Yep and nope”, I said.
“What “, he asked confused.
“Yes I like someone but it doesn’t matter”, I said looking down.
“Why doesn’t it matter”, he asked again.
What’s with him? Why is he curious about my love life? I spoke again,” Because nothing’s gonna happen between us”.
“How can you say this without even talking to him, maybe he likes you too”, he said it matter of factly.
“Umm I am not that brave and I am kind of sure too and also I don’t want him to bring into the darkness I am in”, I smiled.
“Maybe he will take you out of the darkness”, he said and patted my back. And then we were kind of interrupted by Hoshi. Who literally jumped on Minghao and spoke,” umm hmm what’s going on between you two”. He teased and then rushed to the others and then started telling others that I and Minghao are dating.
Everyone started to tease us and when we deny no one trust us.
Jun said,” I knew this they were together since yesterday, talking and smiling”.
Jeonghan came to me and said,” Aaaaaa y/n I thought you would choose me”. He pouted and I replied, “It’s nothing like that and we are not dating”.
Dino interrupted again,” Liar, I know I saw you today too you both were walking behind so you could spend time together”.
Minghao spoke up again, “Guys you are misunderstanding we are not dating. I swear”.
Everyone still didn’t listen to us and kept teasing. And my eyes started searching for Mingyu who was not there. It was kind of weird because he never left me alone for a moment till now. Where is he?
I was searching when Cheol came to me and said, “Mingyu is there sitting in that bench, go” , he pointed me where Mingyu was seating.
“Thank you “, I spoke and left.
He was deep in thoughts when I reached, he didn’t even realized my presence until I spoke up.
“Mingyu , you alright?”, I asked putting a hand in his shoulder.
“Yeah yeah I am cool, what are you doing here?”, he spoke with a trembling voice. I felt worried as in what happened to this guy suddenly.
“Ah I searched for you but you weren’t there so Cheol said you were here,” I looked at him and he still wasn’t looking at me, “if you want I will leave-“.
“Are you and Hao dating?” his sudden question cut me mid-sentence.
“Of course not, we were talking about something and Hoshi misunderstood and there is nothing between us”, I assured him.
But he asked again suspiciously,” you sure?”
“Yeah I am dead sure we are not dating”, I confirmed him.
He sighed and then again spoke,” I want you to be honest with me though about something”.
I gulped what now. Why is everyone asking me so much today? “Yeah sure “, I managed.
“Do you like someone, I don’t need the name just say yes or no”, he asked.
Again the same question, what’s wrong with everyone today. I replied,” yes I do”.
He sighed again. Why is he sighing so much? I wanted to ask him too so I thought this would be the best opportunity. But before I can say anything he got up and spoke,” let’s go I will leave you at your room it’s getting late”.
“Umm yeah okay”, I said and started walking. It’s better to not ask. Only one more freaking day and this will end.
Most of the route we walked in silence. When we reached i decided to break this awkwardness between us, “okay then bye, goodnight Mingyu , see you tomorrow”, I managed my best smile.
He was fidgeting the ground so he looked up and asked,” does that guy know you like him?”.
“ No, and I am not going to tell him anyway cause he is leaving pretty soon and I might not see him again”, I said.
He finally looked up and his eyes met mine finally,” okay, goodnight y/n see you tomorrow”, he smiled and left.
I went to me room, changed and started surfing my phone and was looking at today’s picture. When two texts popped up. One was from Mingyu and the other one was from Minghao.
I opened Mingyu’s text first.
gyu : y/n don’t tell that guy you like him please.
What’s wrong with him? Why is he saying like this anyway I wasn’t even going to tell him. Thank god this guy is super dense and still hasn’t figured out.
I typed an okay and sent it.
Then I opened up Minghao’s text which was kind of weird.
Hao: y/n someone is planning a big surprise for you tomorrow so come tomorrow as soon as possible.
y/n : who ? And what surprise?
Hao : I won’t say who but I can say what if you will confirm something and be honest okay.
He is acting weird.
y/n : yeah okay I will be totally honest I cross my heart now say what?
Hao : you like Mingyu right?
WHAT ? how did he know. I haven’t said this to anyone does Hao knows to mind read. I have never been this surprised like now. I was having many conflicts in my head when I got another text from him.
Hao : ?????
y/n : how did you know?
Hao: its pretty obvious he is a fool that’s his problem anw as promised I will tell u now what is the surprise.
y/n : thank god he haven’t figured out yet and please don’t tell him at least not until tomorrow.
Hao : okay okay I won’t , don’t you wanna know the surprise ?
Damn I kind of forgot about that.
y/n : yeah please tell me
hao : a confession, and now don’t bug me I am sleeping and you too sleep. Gn!
Wait what a confession, who is doing this and why. I had many questions but Hao went offline and I guess he slept cause he wasn’t replying anymore. I was thinking all the possibilities that can happen and didn’t even realize when I dozed off.

DON'T LET IT PASS | N. JAEMIN
Cast: Jaemin x Female!Protagonist ft. Taeil, Johnny, Yuta, and Jeno
Genre: Angst | Dramedy
Word Count: 4.7K
Word/Object: Bouncy Ball (tennis-sized ball)
Warnings: Allusions and brief mentions of suicide and strong language throughout.
Summary: Admitted to an underfunded psychiatric clinic, Na Jaemin feels stuck and the “nice” girl that always says hi and waves at him isn't helping.
Collab: “A Vibe”
Tumblr media
“I WONDER IF you get your kicks off of being problematic,” said Jeno, his wet black hair practically covering his brow and eyes like a thick curtain. “And, to be honest, it wouldn’t surprise me if you did.”
Jaemin, who was laying in bed and reading a porno mag he’d managed to sneak into the clinic, shrugged. He didn’t have to look at his bunkmate to know that Jeno (1) had taken a shower and (2) was staring right at him. He had heard him talking with one of the orderlies, their conversation frustratingly cheery for two people stuck in a nuthouse.
He chuckled. Remembering that if Jeno—or anyone else, for that matter—heard him refer to the clinic as a nuthouse, he wouldn’t hear the end of it. It wasn’t positive language, they’d told him. Jaemin would find it funny if it weren’t so ridiculously depressing. People were sensitive like that. People lied to themselves like that.
Call it a psychiatric clinic, a hospital, a mental ward, or what have you but the truth was that every single person that had been admitted to this damn place was off their nut.
But, hey, people kept themselves sane in strange ways. Calling things by other names seemed to make them forget—no, repress—their reality of their lives.
Whatever floats your boats, Jaemin often thought.
“I think I’ll just keep you wondering,” Jaemin replied, smirking. He passed a page and whistled. “Nice b—”
“Could you not?” Jeno cringed as he dried his hair. “I've had my share of horniness today.”
That made Jaemin look up and ignore the porno mag for a second. He slightly lifted his head, that wicked smirk of his plastered on his face, and wiggled his eyebrows. Jeno, who was too focused on hanging on his towel by the window, missed this. He got to see again when he turned and was met by Jaemin sitting on the edge of his bed, magazine flat on his lap as he wiggled his eyebrows.
“Fair share, you’d say?”
“Yeah, fair share . . .” Jeno trailed off, raising an eyebrow. He felt the spotlight on him and it was a burning and shameful sensation. “What are—what are you on about?”
“Oh, nothing.” Jaeming shrugged one shoulder, winking. “Only that sharing is caring, you sly fox.”
Jeno scoffed as he sat on his bed, opposite Jaemin’s. For a second, he remained unfazed until he sniggered. His eyes became nonexistent, a wide smile reaching them and touching them with a glint of embarrassed amusement. Jeno seemed to open his mouth to share but instead shook his head and turned away.
Above his bed, a collection of manga and manhwas was alphabetically organized and stacked on a wall bookshelf he’d put himself. Jeno was very proud and possessive of all of his volumes. They were one of the few things that offered comfort and enjoyment in this rather dull and isolating place. Jaemin never touched them and was more than okay with admiring them from afar. Not because he wasn’t interested but because he knew how much they meant to Jeno.
“So, puppy boy, who was horny today?” Jaemin asked, intently watching as Jeno reached for a manga volume he’d read over four times this month alone. “Come on. Don’t be a tease.”
“No one,” Jeno replied sheepishly. He laid on his bed, opened the manga, and stared at it.
“C’mon! You said you had your fair share of—” Jaemin paused, searching for the right word. It fell on the tip of his lips and his smirk reached his eyes. They had a distinctive glint of mischief as he added, “—arousal.”
Jeno blinked, uncomfortable. “Well that—that slipped out.”
“How very freudian of you.”
Jeno said nothing, pretended to read. Jaemin swore he saw the hint of a smile on his face, but he relented from asking him again. He wasn’t going to push him any further. Not tonight, anyhow.
With a huff and a chuckle, Jaemin hid the porno mag underneath his mattress, laid back on his bed, and decided to call it a night. He could annoy the ever living shit out of Jeno—and everyone else—in the morning.
Tumblr media
THE NEXT MORNING, as he entered the cafeteria, Jaemin saw her before she saw him.
She was finishing her cereal as she talked with a guy. He was older than both of Jaemin and her, had pink hair, and was kinda loud. She was laughing at something he said and Jaemin felt an urge to ask her what the fuck was so funny and punch him right in the gut. He’d ask him the same question, but he really hated repeating himself.
“There she is,” Jaemin grumbled, barely parting his lips. “Miss Waves-A-Lot.”
Jeno, who was skimming through the fifth volume in the manga series he’d recently started reading, looked up and immediately squealed when he felt Jaemin pinching his forearm. It hurt so much he almost dropped the manga and cussed out loud.
“What was that for?” Jeno asked, gently rubbing his forearm. He gave the rec room a quick glance and saw who Jaemin was aggressively staring at. “What happens when she catches you looking at her like a psycho?”
“She’s not gonna catch me.”
She wouldn’t. She was too focused on Pink Hair to pay Jaemin any attention. Or so he thought.
Just as Jaemin blinked and thought about looking away, she met his gaze and they made eye contact. That’s when Jaemin noticed something. Though her hair was short and dyed blue, she had turquoise highlights he had previously missed.
“Fuck!” Jaemin gritted his teeth.
“Could you be more obvious?” Jeno rolled his eyes. “The least you can do is pretend you’re not looking.”
“Looking?” Jaemin scoffed. She was looking at him. He was looking at her. “I don’t know what you mean.”
Jeno scoffed. “Way to play dumb.”
“Did you just call me—”
“Good morning!”
“JESUS!” Jaemin screamed in a high-pitched voice. He punched the air—twice and upward—when he noticed who had startled him. “You nearly gave me a fucking heart attack!”
“Morning,” Jeno greeted her with a warm smile. “Sorry about my—” he paused, looking for the right word. “—roomie. He can be very loud.”
“That’s okay,” she replied, smiling. “Just wanted to say hi.”
Jaemin scoffed, grumbling, “You could have just waved.”
That made Jeno and her turn to Jaemin. One had an eyebrow raised, the other looked surprised. While Jeno shook his head and mouthed “what the fuck is wrong with you”, she simply shrugged and said she felt it was better if she actually introduced herself for a change. Jaemin felt something akin to butterflies in his stomach. Whether he was hungry or genuinely feeling something due to how she was looking at him, he couldn’t tell.
“I see you guys often, but I hadn’t gathered the courage to say hi face to face.”
“We’re idiots.” Jeno pointed to himself, but relented from pointing at Jaemin. “We’re alright. We don’t bite.”
Jaemin scoffed. “Speak for yourself, puppy boy.” He looked at her, smirking. “I bite.”
“Not hard, I imagine,” she retorted, her tone casual and affable. “You look like the type of guy that’s all bark and no bite.”
“All bark and no—yah—when were you born?” He pointed a firm finger at her, pushed it against her shoulder.
She looked at him, glanced at the finger, and removed it with such calm that Jaemin felt his blood boil. Jeno seemed to have realized Jaemin was close to doing something incredibly and stupidly impulsive because he tried to drag his roommate back to no avail. Jeno glanced over his shoulder, backed off, and disappeared from view. They barely registered that it was not the two of them.
“1998,” she replied, her voice barely a whisper.
“Bullshit.”
“Why would I lie about that?”
“To fuck with me.”
“Really?” She smiled. It was both beautiful and irritating. “Just you?”
Jaemin tilted his head to the side, pushed his tongue against his cheek.
“When were you born?” he asked again.
“I already told you.” She reached out and took his hand, shaking it. “Name’s Ryu. Born June 30th, 1998.” She let go of his hand and winked. “Let’s treat each other well, okay?”
“Bull—”
“Jaemin, Ryu,” said a familiar voice. “Is everything okay here?”
Ryu smiled a small smile and bowed. “Everything’s okay, Yuta-san.”
Jaemin didn’t have to turn to see Yuta nor did he have to guess who had brought him. He nodded and, without turning, said, “Yeah. Everything is okay, Yuta-san.”
Yuta stood between Jaemin and Ryu, smiling that friendly smile of his. Jaemin didn’t meet his gaze but he could tell his hyung was looking intently at him and that he no doubt had that disappointed glint in his eye.
“Drop the honorifics,” said Yuta, beaming at Ryu. “It’s too early for that.”
“If you say so.” Ryu shrugged one shoulder, slightly bowed, and turned to Jaemin. “See you when I see you, lanky.”
Lanky? Did she just—you cheeky shit, Jaemin thought. He feigned a smile and a chuckle, waving her off when she left. It took him a second to realize that it was now just him and Yuta. Great.
“You’re looking a little worked up there, Nana.” Yuta gently clapped him in the shoulder.
“I’m okay.”
Yuta shrugged. “If you say so,” he said, half-smiling. “You do know that it’s too early to get this worked up, right?”
Jaemin bit his tongue but before he could nod and come up with some lame answer, he heard himself say: “Is it? I hadn’t noticed.”
Yuta raised an eyebrow then smiled fully, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. He clapped Jaemin in the shoulder then nodded towards the cafeteria’s small line.
“Try your best to be kind,” Yuta advised in a gentle voice. His gaze was stern but not unkind. “Try your best to not be—”
“An asshole?”
Yuta’s eyes widened for a second. There wasn’t anger or disappointment or pity in them but heartache.
“You see yourself as an asshole?”
“Everyone else does. Why should I see myself any differently?”
Before Yuta could reply, Jaemin bowed and said he’d rather get in line before the banana milk he liked was gone.
Tumblr media
HE SAW HER again in the rec room.
Ryu was playing dominoes with Pink Hair when he sat down with Jeno and pretended to be entertained by a bouncy ball—about the size of a tennis ball—he’d nicked off someone.
(Jaemin couldn’t remember who it was. He just knew he managed to get his hands on it and that was all that mattered.)
Whether Ryu was too focused on her game with Pink Hair to notice him or she was genuinely ignoring him, Jaemin couldn’t tell. After a while, he stopped caring. And with good reason—he fell asleep on the couch.
After what felt like hours, but had only been about twenty minutes, he woke up and noticed someone had left a note. They had stuffed it on the waistband of his sweatpants. He opened it and scoffed.
The note read:
you never told me when you were born
Jaemin thought about crushing it into a ball, tossing it aside, ripping it apart. He didn’t.
He gently closed it and stuffed it in his pocket.
Tumblr media
RYU HAD BEEN admitted about three months prior.
Jaemin had seen her once or twice, but had never paid attention to her. And, sure, she was pretty and he had noticed, but he was more concerned with more important stuff. Like, say, getting away with sneaking porno mags and cigarettes and bouncy balls into the clinic. Granted, the smuggling wasn’t his job, but he helped to enable it.
So when she started saying hi and waving at him, he felt like she was onto something. She was too friendly, too enthusiastic, for Jaemin’s taste. He preferred it when people ignored him or gave him shit. At least that way he could play dumb or trade patter with them, hurling insults that would definitely shatter someone’s self-esteem and were occasionally played off as good fun.
The more she waved, the more she said hi, the more Jaemin grew irritated by her. He did his best to avoid her but about a week ago they were placed in the same therapy session. Ryu often sat two or three seats to his right and Jaemin could feel her staring.
For an entire week, he ignored her—her stares, her soft but enthusiastic greetings, her incessant waving—and felt he was doing a fine job of it until this morning.
What the fuck does she want?
That’s all he could think about as he aimlessly wandered around the clinic. He walked past the lobby, the cafeteria, and one of the outdoorsy areas—the one everyone referred to as the wee park—but found himself without a glimpse of Ryu.
After half an hour, Jaemin decided to call it a day and renew his nap.
Not in the rec room, though. That place reeked of neglect.
Tumblr media
JAEMIN HAD BEEN admitted about two weeks prior to Ryu’s admission.
To no one’s surprise, he had issues. Which was a condescending way of saying he wasn’t in the best headspace. Ryu had asked around about why he’d been admitted but no one really had an answer. Every time someone asked him, Jaemin would answer differently and contradict himself. It seemed funny to him.
It wasn’t. On the contrary, it was genuinely frustrating because the staff couldn’t help him take the necessary steps to achieve some kind of positive progress. Ryu wanted to understand why he was such a pain in the ass and had tried time and time again to catch his attention. He ignored her—rudely, blatantly, every chance he got—and that only made it more intriguing for her.
“He’s handsome but he sure is mean,” mumbled Hendery, playing with his pink hair as he chewed on the biggest wad of chewing gum Ryu had ever seen. “He cussed at me just for looking at him.”
“Na Jaemin’s a sweetheart,” said Yuta one day as they—him and Ryu—cleaned the rec room. “But he has a mean streak.”
“Heard that before,” Ryu replied, nodding.
Yuta shrugged. “Dr. Choi mentioned it’s a coping mechanism.”
And maybe it was. Maybe he was just an asshole. Whatever the reason, whatever the motivation, Ryu gathered he wasn’t the easiest guy to be around. And yet . . . she felt some type of camaraderie with him. They no doubt came from different places, had lived different experiences, but she related to this impulse to put up a wall, a preemptive measure against anything that could hurt you.
Na Jaemin was no different.
Difference was that while he put on this snarky and confident façade, Ryu wore her emotions on her sleeve and kept her head held high even when she felt like crumbling. Being vulnerable didn’t equate to weakness in her mind. Vulnerability was acknowledging that every once in a while she might need a word of advice or a hug or simply someone beside her, sharing the silence when words failed.
Jaemin seemed to reject that idea. Ryu knew not because she had seen it but because she had sensed it. That and she had lived it. Once upon a time, she put a wall so high and thick that it took a lonely walk in the middle of the night and a stop by a bridge to make her reconsider her life and they way she was living it.
Whenever she remembered that night, Ryu remembered how cold it was. She remembered how angry, sad, and lonely she felt. There were days she wished she didn’t remember that cold night in Busan. And then there were days when she looked back and felt genuine relief that she had decided to step away from the ledge.
“The road to recovery is a long one,” Dr. Choi had told her, smiling softly. She was a woman in her thirties with a motherly aura. “Some days you’ll walk with your head held high. Others, you’ll stumble. And you know what? That’s okay.”
Ryu took these words to heart. She embraced them, keeping them in a little corner near her heart so that whenever she felt close to the edge, she was reminded she wasn’t alone and that she was capable of healing.
Tumblr media
JAEMIN FOUND HER in the studio.
It obviously wasn’t really a studio, but it sort of functioned as one. Here, there were several instruments and the space to play them freely. The whole point of it was to release stress, learn something new, or otherwise just play for the sake of playing.
He was walking past the studio when he caught her silhouette through his periphery. Ryu was sitting on a small stool, plucking the shit out of a gayageum’s strings that had no place being there. The plucked zither was old but had been taken care of and Jaemin couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
Ryu wasn’t playing alone. She was jamming with—was that Yuta? Holy shit. It was. He sat behind a drum kit, jamming, eyes closed, a goofy smile spread across his face. Standing opposite Ryu was a tall, broad-shouldered guy with long brown hair tied in a man-bun; he was playing bass. They were caught up in the moment and unaware that they had an audience—inside and outside the studio—as they grooved to the funky groove of Dr. John’s Right Place, Wrong Time.
Jaemin smiled in sheer disbelief, unconsciously tapping his foot to the song’s beat. He realized that Ryu and Yuta were singing the chorus whereas the bassist was singing the song, putting on a gruff voice that didn’t match his appearance.
“Good shit, huh?”
“Oh, fuck off—” Jaemin gritted teeth, slowly turning to meet Moon Taeil, and immediately felt his face drop. Nervously, he cleared his throat. “Taeil-ssi.”
Taeil was looking forward, smirking. “Do you play?”
“That’s a very vague question.”
“Music.”
“What about it?”
Taeil sighed, a mixture of exasperation and amusement. He looked at Jaemin and tilted his head to the side, showing a smile that reached his eyes. He wasn’t mad or annoyed or disappointed; he was just looking at Jaemin with endearment in his gaze.
“You’re being deliberately dense, aren’t you?” he asked, calmly.
“No—” Jaemin blinked, then deflated. “Yeah.”
Taeil chuckled with a small nod. “So . . . do you play?”
“Piano,” he replied, “but I haven’t played in forever . . .”
“Shame. I heard you were a pretty good player.”
Jaemin raised an eyebrow, feeling a glare coming up. “Did my mother put you up to this?” he asked, doing his very best to sound even-tempered.
“What if she did?” Taeil shrugged.
“Yeah? Well, she’s the reason I no longer play the fuck—”
Taeil laid a hand on Jaemin’s shoulder, smiling ruefully. “I know,” he said in a low, understanding voice. “But it’s never too late to try again.”
Jaemin groaned, closed his eyes, and threw his head backwards. “Sure,” he grumbled, reluctantly nodding. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
“Good to hear!” Taeil clapped him on the shoulder. “Don’t forget. Therapy session at—”
“3:30. Yup. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
Taeil gave him a thumbs-up. He knocked on the studio’s wide window, nodded with a smile and a wave, then walked off without another word. All eyes were now on Jaemin—Ryu, Yuta, and Mr. Bass—and he desperately wished for the ground to open up and swallowed him whole. They had stopped playing, which meant the studio and the corridor had fallen silent. He awkwardly waved and cringed when Ryu met his gaze and waved back.
Yuta waved at him, motioning for Jaemin to join them in the studio, but was met with a stiff head shake from the youth. Jaemin opted for pointing at Ryu and motioning for her to meet him outside. She glanced at Yuta and Mr. Bass, shrugged, then joined Jaemin in the corridor.
“Whatcha think?” she asked, smiling.
Jaemin frowned. “About?”
“About us playing?”
“Oh, that. You were gre—okay. It was okay.”
“Just okay?” Ryu raised an eyebrow, curious.
“I mean the bassist is pretty damn good.”
Ryu looked at Mr. Bass. “Yeah, Johnny’s a hell of a player,” she agreed. “But what about Yuta-san and I?”
“Yeah, you were good—”
“I smell bullshit, but okay.”
Jaemin blinked at that. She had a mouth on her, didn’t she? Then again, he supposed, so did he. Instead of feeling irritated, he felt at ease; he couldn’t understand why. Ryu knocked on the studio’s window, mouthed that she was taking a break, and pointed at Jaemin.
“What was that about?”
Ryu blinked then shrugged. “Wanna go for a walk?”
“Walk—er—no—” Jaemin began to protest, but was yanked by his forearm away from the studio and into the God knew where. “What are you doing?”
“Dragging you away so that we can have a civil conversation.”
“Civil? I’m being kidnapped!” Jaemin grasped Ryu’s wrist and tried to squeeze it, but instead found himself on the ground, groaning and moaning. “Ouchwhatthefuck?”
Ryu put him on a hold by twisting his wrist and she was glaring daggers at him. It took her a second to realize what she was doing and immediately looked apologetic.
“It was—I didn’t mean to,” she whispered, sheepishly. “It was just—”
Jaemin raised a finger and looked at her intently. “If I come with you, promise me you won’t assault me,” he said, almost pleading.
She nodded, offering her pinkie. “Promise.”
“Okay—fuck—lead the way,” he said, offering his own pinkie to seal the deal.

THUD-A-POMP!
They were throwing the bouncy ball against a wall on the courtyard. They stood about six feet apart to not bump into each other when they moved to catch the ball.
Thud-A-Pomp!
Jaemin threw it. Ryu caught it.
Thud-A-Pomp!
Ryu threw it, glanced at Jaemin, and smiled at him when he caught it.
Thud-A-Pomp!
Jaemin threw it harder than usual, winced, and guffawed, rather impressed, when Ryu caught the ball without looking. To his surprise, she was staring at him.
“Something in your mind, dear?” he asked, smiling smugly.
“Loads of things, really,” said Ryu, throwing and catching the ball without breaking eye contact. “But nothing that I’d bother sharing.”
The smug expression disappeared from his face. He looked more confused than anything; he felt himself slipping and giving into irritation.
“I thought you wanted to have a civil conversation,” he grumbled, hands on his hip.
Ryu sniggered. “Yup.”
Thud-A-Pomp!
“Oh-kay,” Jaemin intoned, rolling his eyes. He caught the ball, gave it the once-over, then—thud-a-pomp!—threw it again. He sighed and cracked his neck, staring at the clear blue sky above them. “I was born in 2000.”
Thud-A-Pomp!
A wide, proud smile spread across Ryu’s face. She tapped her foot and nodded, tongue in cheek.
“So that makes me your noona, huh?”
Jaemin’s annoyance was palpable. “Aish,” he groaned. “I guess so.”
“I’m older,” she said, giddy to the point of dancing, “which means you must be respectful.”
He twirled the ball in mid-air, watched it return to his hand a resting bitch face. “Yeah, yeah, reverence and low bows and all that jazz.”
Ryu chuckled, though it wasn’t an amused sound. It was the sound of someone running empty on sympathy. When he looked at her, he saw that she was running her hand through her hand and pulling on the roots; it looked like a bad habit. She was staring at the ground, a frown disfiguring her beautiful features.
“You okay?”
She shook her head. “Nope,” she replied, calmly.
“Something in your—”
“Why are you here?”
Jaemin blinked, aghast. “Excuse me?”
“Honestly, why are you here? You seem like you’d rather be elsewhere.”
“It’s not like I had a choice!” he retorted, throwing the ball at her instead of bouncing it off the wall. “It’s not like I enjoy being here!”
“Seems like you really dig this place. Doing what you want. Talking to everyone and anyone without a filter.”
“If you got something to say, don’t mince words.” Jaemin crossed his hands. “Sugarcoating is a waste of time.”
Ryu nodded, raising both eyebrows. Her posture displayed that she wasn’t afraid of conflict or calling others out. It reminded Jaemin of Yuta and Taeil. She looked between the ball and the wall then hurled it with all of her might.
“You’re an asshole,” she finally said.
“I’m a—did you just call me an asshole?”
“You heard me right, Jaemin, so stop being coy.”
Jaemin squeezed the ball hard, felt its material giving in but not quite breaking. He looked away and feigned laughter. He wanted to throw the ball as hard as he could and watch it explode against the wall or the ground, but he disasuded himself from the idea when he simply dropped it to the ground. The small thump-thump it made was equal to the low thudding of his heart as he tried to calm himself down.
“Why are you here?” Jaemin threw Ryu’s question back at her.
“Depression,” she replied without a hint of embarrassment. “That and a bungled—” she paused, unsure if to use the word. “—incident.”
“Did you try to—”
She nodded, grimacing. “Yup.”
The question slipped out of his lips before he could reconsider asking it. But his tone wasn’t malicious or mocking; it was instead one of preoccupation and dread.
“How?”
“Leap of faith.” She motioned with someone walking on the edge of something then plunging into the depths below. “Or lack thereof.”
“Fuck,” he mumbled, then looked at her. “Why?”
“Why does anyone do anything really? You’re not in the best headspace when you’re close to . . .” Ryu trailed off with a small shrug. She noticed Jaemin looking at her differently. Not with pity, but with understanding. “My brother left to study abroad. My parents found themselves falling out of love. They divorce and were very open about how much they disliked each other. Things changed. The life I thought was almost perfect sort of—” she closed a fist and slowly opened it, making a sound akin to an explosion. “—imploded. Everything just went down the drain.”
Jaemin heard what she wasn’t saying—the desperation, the loneliness, the fear—and the wall he had worked so hard to put up and keep others away began to crack. The way she was looking at him showed him a person that had descended into rock bottom—not crashed like he had, but instead slowly found themselves in the depths of their own despair—and was finding their way back.
“Now,” she piped up, stirring him from his reverie, “why are you here?”
He shrugged, pouting. “Anger issues . . . depression . . . delusions of grandeur . . . stubbornness,” he replied, nonchalantly. “Take your pick ‘cause I don’t really know.”
She stared, said nothing, then picked the ball from the ground and—thud-a-pomp!—threw it.
“It’s never too late to start again, y’know? To try and better yourself.”
“Heard that before.” He scoffed.
“Don’t let it pass, Jaemin.”
A frown. “Don’t let what pass?”
“Life.”
“Life,” he repeated, as if the concept was foreign to him. “Easy to say, don’t you think?”
“Very fucking easy, yeah,” she admitted with a chuckle. “But nothing in life is easy. Progress requires work and time. Everything starts, y’know, way from within.”
He looked at her, gobsmacked. “You really are wise for your age,” he said, using aegyo. “Noona, teach me your ways.”
“Oh—” she threw the ball at him, “—fuck you!”
His laughter echoed in the courtyard, warming her heart.
Her smile was contagious, reminding him of what happiness was.
Tumblr media
IN THE COMING weeks, these are the things that will occur:
Na Jaemin will make an effort to make progress and deal with his anger, and other unresolved but heavy emotional baggage. The wall, which had already cracked, will crumble and he’ll strive to be a better person. Even after leaving the clinic, he’ll visit the few friends he made; the people he promised to support.
Ryu finds that talking about her experience helps her strengthen her resolve. She helps those that have found themselves contemplating suicide; she supports them and secures resources for the clinic through her brother. She and Jaemin maintain contact. It will bloom into something wonderful.
Jeno will donate his manga collection to the clinic. Letting go is one of the things he learns. He and Jaemin become roommates. He’ll be exasperated for the next four years until he ultimately decides to live with his penpal, a Chinese lad with artistic aspirations.
Everything will eventually be well.

Jealous
warnings: none
❀ The members tease JiHo and expose her for being jealous
Tumblr media
“Hey JiHo? You’re not actually mad right?” JiHo let out a confused hum at Doyoung’s words while she hops into the car. They had just left filming ‘Weekly Idol’ and were making their way back to the dorms. Doyoung sat to her left while Jungwoo and Taeil sat in the back.
“Mad about what?” “Me not picking you as my partner?” JiHo let out a scoff and she heard the two boys in the back chuckle. “And why exactly would I be mad at that?” She eyed Doyoung who held his hands up at her defensive front. “Because you couldn’t be with Yuta and then you usually want to be in a team with me...” His voice trailed of. Doyoung decided not to continue as JiHo rolled her eyes. “Don’t flatter yourself. I got closer to winning with Taeyong anyway than you got with Jaehyun.” “Hey! No need to get all defensive on me!” Doyoung yelled, but JiHo had already grabbed her earbuds and faced the other way. “Seems like you hit a nerve their buddy.” Jungwoo joked, patting Doyoung’s shoulder but JiHo had just heard that and sent Jungwoo a glare which caused him to retract his hands from Doyoung’s shoulder.
The car ride was silent for the most part. Doyoung was slightly worried that he actually had pissed the girl off, but he also felt a bit wronged because he was only asking her a question to clear something up. Taeil and Jungwoo on the other hand decided 10 minutes into the ride that they didn’t have anything to do with the dumb argument and hit up a conversation between themselves.
Everyone had made it to SM and they all gathered in one of the lounges upstairs where only employees and artists were allowed. JiHo’s car had arrived last so Doyoung, Jungwoo, Taeil and her walked into the lounge last. The other members were already waiting on them, joking about them having to wait ages on them. Doyoung sat down on the empty couch closest to the door, everyone except JiHo sitting next to him. Instead the girl made her way to the furthest place from Doyoung and sat next to Jaehyun. “Oh~ What happened here?” Johnny asked the question everyone was thinking about.
“JiHo’s jealous that Doyoung didn’t chose her as a partner on today’s shoot.” JiHo’s eyes sent the deadliest stare towards the oldest member who decided to tell everyone what supposedly was up. “Um... No actually. Mister ‘everything revolves around me’ thinks that I was upset that we didn’t team up together.” She emphasised the word ‘think’ while pointing at Doyoung. The other boys were all laughing by now, but as the laughter died down Haechan decided he wanted to put some more fuel on the fire. “Nah, it was pretty obvious you were jealous.” His smirk not wavering the slightest once JiHo glared at him.
Jaehyun had reached out to grab JiHo’s hand and slowly pulled her to sit down next to him. “You just kept on saying how I betrayed you and stuff. I just wanted to make sure I didn’t actually hurt your feelings.” Doyoung explained. “Well you didn’t. I’m fine. It was all just for show.”
“I don’t know. Here I thought JiHo was upset because she wanted to be in my team.” Yuta smirked poking the girl’s side. She quickly grabbed his arm and pushed it away from her. “I’m not upset!” “It’s still funny how she got rejected by both Mark and Jungwoo. JiHo, how will you ever get a boyfriend?” Haechan acted seriously concerned and JiHo threw the closest pillow towards him, not appreciating the teasing. “Yeah I’m sorry about that JiHo.” Mark added quickly.
The boys kept laughing and tease the girl. Their comments coming at her non-stop, even Doyoung had given up on feeling bad when he realised how funny it was the way JiHo reacted.
After a few more jokes JiHo had enough and stood up. “Yah! Say what you want but I wasn’t jealous nor upset. I don’t always need to be in Yuta or Doyoung’s team.” She tried to stay cool but the way she slightly stomped her feet in annoyance and the pout that was almost showing on her lips had the boys doubling over in laughter. JiHo rolled her eyes and a second later she felt Yuta engulf her into a hug. He cooed at the girl, telling her how cute she was along with the other members who weren’t struggling to breath.
Once settled down JiHo’s attention was on their manager that just walked in, she tried to ignore the continued teasing from the boys. “Okay is there like anything else to do, because I wouldn’t mind leaving right now.” The manager told her to wait a second, as he was going to be going over the coming weeks schedules with everyone.
Yuta reached out to pat the girl’s leg and she faced him, confused. “Aigoo~ I’ll make sure to team up with you next time okay?” He cooed but was met with a pillow to the face as JiHo groaned annoyed. “Aren’t we over this now!”

You wish (1/2)
Pairing: Frank Iero x [non-binary, afab] Reader Word counting: ~ 2 200 Genre: Enemies to lovers Summary: Reader is the only one who doesn't take Frank's shit, but all the bickering eventually turns into flirting.
Requested on Wattpad
Tumblr media
A sigh escapes my lips as I finish cleaning the last glass and put it under the counter along with the others before setting the cloth aside. It's going to be a busy night because, apparently, a band is going to play in the club tonight and that usually brings a lot of people in. On the other hand, at least Mikey is helping me today – let's hope he doesn't fuck up with anything, but if he does, it's Gerard's problem and not mine, after all.
"Hello," a guy greets as sitting down on one of the stools.
I raise an eyebrow at him, glancing at his clothes; white, with a hand drawn black symbol on the shirt. Probably someone from the staff considering we haven't opened yet. The club is empty apart from me, the cleanse people and the ones putting the stage up. "Hi."
"A beer, please." He presses his lips together into a smile, watching me moving to grab what he asked, pouring the drink into a glass before I set it in front of him and throw the can away. "Thank you..." It's clear he wants to know my name, but I don't say anything, carrying on with my job, and proceed to clean the empty area of the counter. He frowns. "What's your name? Nice to meet you, I'm Frank."
"I'm just the one in charge of the bar," I reply simply. Giving attention to everyone isn't something very wise to do and something I didn't learn easily; most of the idiots sitting around the bar will just insult me in the moment I reject them or say gross things, so talks certainly should be avoided. Even if it isn't from a customer.
"Aw, you're not funny!" His words don't sound genuine tho, the disappointment is hidden under certain amusement. "'Bet you don't have many clients while acting like that!"
Cool, just like predicted. To be honest, getting rid of this stain here is more interesting.
"Hi, hi," Mikey greets and I glance back to see him walking in with a smile, "oh, hey, Frank! Didn't know you'd be the one playing here tonight!" He moves to next to Frank leaning his side against the counter. I observe them for a brief moment – so Mikey knows the punk, huh?
"Yeah," Frank replies excitedly, "Gerard could help us with it, so..." He shrugs, smiling. "Didn't know you work here, either."
"I don't," Mikey chuckles. "I just help here once in a while."
"Laze around, you mean," I add, glaring at Mikey. He gasps, widening his eyes, but I speak up before he's able to say anything. "Not to mention that your last time here costed us two glasses, you butter fingers. Thank hell Gerard is the only one to be scolded!"
"C'mon, you know how difficult it is to handle these," he groans. "You're just being annoying."
"And rude," Frank adds under his breath. "'Won't talk with me."
Mikey raises an eyebrow at Frank before chuckling. "Not surprising. I wouldn't talk with you either if you showed up like that, even more knowing how you can be—"
"Stop, you're supposed to be helping me!"
"(Y/n) is just this way, c'mon!" Mikey shrugs. "And you're annoying. I bet they were just doing their work." He glares, moving to serve Frank a can of soda this time after he pushed his glass forward while muttering something. I can't help but to glance at them with an amused smirk, having fun in watching how Frank shoots me a bitter look and Mikey is being suspiciously nice today.
"Cut off the sweet talk, Mikey," I say as approaching them, putting the cloth away for real this time. "I'll love you more if you work more. And you." I turn to Frank. "Yeah, you're annoying."
While Mikey chuckles, a long and dramatic whine comes from Frank. "You just met me! You're the annoying one! And even rude!"
"I don't go around attacking people for free, Frank." I shrug, leaning back against the counter with a sigh. "And insulting me because I didn't do what you wanted me to? What are you, five?" I hold back a chuckle, rolling my eyes. Part of what I'm doing is because I am not going to take his shit, but it is also entertaining seeing how Frank can react.
As predicted, the night ends up being quite agitated, but Mikey and I do have a break during the concert since people focus more on the music instead of getting drinks, what gives us the opportunity to pay attention to it too. It's a bit difficult seeing them – LeATHERMOUTH, that's the name – because of the low stage and huge crowd, in a way most of what I can see resumes itself to Frank jumping around like crazy, though he sometimes disappears in what I presume to be kneeling on the ground and my suppositions he has any sanity left are erased when I see him with the cable wrapped around his head. Cool.
Frank returns after the show is over, asking for a drink and, once again, using that shitty attitude that I do not take.
Through the time, Frank's band makes more shows in the club and, if it wasn't for Mikey there – consequently –, I probably wouldn't be sharing any word with him again. He is annoying. It is literally impossible to talk to him for longer than five seconds without being attacked and receiving a rude remark, even if it turns into some kind of weird flirting through the time.
I suppress a sharp sigh when seeing Frank approaching after another show came to an end – even so, it's still early in the night and another band took over when they left the stage.
"G'night, what d'you want?" Pete, who is also working in the bar today – because Mikey couldn't make it due to something related to Electric Century, if I'm not wrong –, is free and approaches Frank in the moment he takes a seat on a stool across the counter. Thank hell, maybe I don't have to deal with the dumbass today.
"I actually want (y/n) to fix me a drink, thank you," Frank replies without any pity and I need to hold back a chuckle at Pete's reaction; Frank smirks a bit as meeting my gaze.
Throwing the Cosmopolitan in the glass, I push it towards the woman, finally moving towards Frank. "Hey, rat, good concert. Would've been better if you weren't there." I grin, leaning forward on the counter with my hands on the edge of it.
"Very funny!" He rolls his eyes, twisting his mouth a bit. "I bet watching me performing would be the best part of your night if it actually wasn't talking with me."
"You wish, you're always counting the seconds to come here annoy me," I breathe, shaking my head. "Anyways, what do you want?"
"I'm actually not up for much alcohol today..." Frank hums thoughtful as looking at all the drinks behind me while placing his elbow over the counter and resting his cheek against his palm. "I was going for a Manhattan, but fix me a Spritz instead."
"As you wish," I mutter while moving to grab the bottles I need then coming back to prepare the drink.
"So, Mikey isn't here today?" Frank asks and I slowly nod in response.
"Yeah," I reply after a moment, having been focused on getting the right quantity of each drink in a way it isn't too bitter or too boozy, just as he likes it, "apparently he had something else to do, so we fixed someone else." I mix everything before throwing it inside a glass with ice, adding a rosemary branch for the looks, and push it towards him. "I needed to endure you moaning your ass off on that stage all by myself, unfortunately."
Frank snorts as taking the drink, shaking his head to himself. "Shut up, you wish you were the one to be making me moan like that." He takes a sip of the drink and raises his eyebrows lightly, quickly taking another sip of it.
I roll my eyes, not worrying if my reaction is dramatic as I pretend to gag. "I actually wish I was the one wrapping the cable around your neck, y'know?"
"Aw, babe," Frank groans, looking up at me from under his eyelashes, "I'd love that."
The words set a silence between us for a moment, in which I glare at Frank with disbelief and he's got that fake innocent look on, batting his eyelashes while looking at me. His look gives me this weird feeling in my chest, but I look away before I can identify whether it's good or bad, cursing under my breath at the same time he starts laughing.
"You're terrible," I tell Frank, moving away once seeing a guy taking a seat.
"A Paloma, please," the guy asks and I nod, moving to do as asked.
"I'm the best, actually," Frank replies in his usual smug tone and I can't help but to laugh, sarcastically agreeing.
"Here." I hand the guy his drink, sighing as moving to take a few empty glasses away from the counter and hand it to Pete so he can go clean them.
"Thank you, baby." The guy winks at me and here we go again. I ignore him. "What's your name? You a cutie, aren't yah? When is your shift over? Maybe I could take you home," he insists, but his words just turn into a background noise that I try to ignore as moving to the back to put away the bottles I've used. "Oh, you gonna play it difficult? 'Bet you—"
"Can you please leave them alone?" Frank's voice cuts in and I need to glance back to make sure I'm not making things up and there is Frank, glaring at the guy. "C'mon, man, if they're not giving you attention, that's a no. Accept it nicely and don't make it obvious how frustrated with yourself you are."
"Who even do you think you are?" The guy retorts bitterly.
"I'm just—"
"Y'know what, I'm not coming here anymore," the guy grumbles to himself and just downs the drink before he stands up and disappears among the crowd. Frank and I share a confused look before shrugging.
"Thank you, I guess," I sigh as walking back to Frank, leaning on the counter with my forearms over it and we're about the same level. I observe him for a moment, thinking about what he did, and there's this feeling in my stomach again. Butterflies? No, no, no. Not for him. I try my best to not let him know about what's going in my mind, not looking away from him.
"Don't worry." He smirks and that's just Frank. He's always smug and convinced of himself, not afraid of saying what he thinks or feels. What an idiot. For real, I like it. "You deserved it."
"Honestly, I don't know how to react," I confess, "because, since we met, it's been sounding like you're going to throw me from a cliff in the moment you have the opportunity to."
"I'm not like that, (y/n)," he breathes, eyes drifting down for a second as he bites back an awkward smile. "I, um— You're actually really nice. I just like fucking around with you." He shrugs and looks down at his glass, playing a bit with the remaining ice cubes. I keep observing him, not replying, so he looks at me again, raising an eyebrow.
Y'know what? Fuck it.
I glance down at Frank's lips and a red tone immediately takes over his cheeks with it, but I just lean in and am actually surprised by him meeting me halfway. I can still taste the Spritz on his lips, faintly, what ends up irrelevant under how nice and surprisingly soft they feel against mine. His mustache brushes lightly against the skin under my nose, tickling it, something I try to ignore as cupping his face and deepening the kiss as he places his hand over mine.
There's this feeling in my stomach again, followed by a nice tingling sensation that goes down my spine while a warm sensation fills my chest. Okay; it feels right, for once.
"I'm driving you home," Frank mutters against my lips, a bit breathless, just like me.
"Yeah, that'd be nice." I smirk a bit as we gaze at each other for a moment and I'm not sure about what'd happen next, but we are interrupted by Pete before I can find out. Idiot.
"Stop making out and go back to work, (y/n)," he calls from the other side of the bar and I sigh heavily, rolling my eyes as I move towards the couple who just approached the counter. "I'm going to tell Mikey about it!"
"You are not going to tell Mikey!" I glare at Pete before turning to the couple, asking what they want and quickly putting myself to prepare the two Martinis.
