omfg marionetta episode 80... yet another masterclass in episodic pacing god, it had:
the absolutely horrific things done to the ah'kon
(i can't stop thinking about the dialogue bubble saying "it hurt so much"... hurt as in past-tense as in when the procedure was done as in no numbing or after care or... my god)
the very moment sahed's innocence was broken
sahed's inner conflict on hating the govt yet still craving the parental attention he never got as a child
really just how strongly sahed feels, whether it's love or hatred, and both are shown here
julia and sahed embracing while he tells her this
julia and sahed blushing ajdfk the flutters when sahed turned his head to ask julia if he did the right thing
speaking of that, julia's immediate reaction to excuse sahed for his murder, something she would have found reprehensible earlier
and now the sinking feeling that we still need to know what happened to the blinded ah'kon (god i'm scared) and what will happen to the little girl...

#AHAHAHA okay this fic has been in the works since I started this break#I wanted to post something for when I come back... ;v;#It's not actually going to be this long though#Because it's unedited#Too many tangents#It'll probably just be like 10k or something (3k worth of tangents JAJDJSJD)#Why is it so much easier to write 10k for a fic than writing 2k for homework#yapping toad#AH YES this is also my first time using gdocs for writing fics...#I usually just use my note app...#I wanted to be able to work on this fic as I'm taking breaks from homework though; so I decided to try it out...#It's pretty fun!#AUGH I GOT A NOTIFICATION FROM MY PROFESSOR JUST NOW#PLEASE IT'S TOO LATE FOR THIS#BACK TO THE TOPIC—I heard there was a way to directly move your stuff from gdocs to AO3?#I'll look it up when this fic is finished...#If it's true then I'll never look back AHAHAHA formatting is the biggest pain#No—nevermind. Sitting in front of your laptop all day long for entire months is the biggest pain#I haven't had the time to move around since this semester started...#My body feels 5 times older KSFKSJD#See that? That's what you call a tangent#Why am I incapable of not going into tangents#A conversation that would last 5 minutes usually end up going on for hours when I go into my tangents#Aaand I got into a tangent about going into tangents#OH YEAH ACTUALLY writing isn't TOO brainrot-inducing in comparison to consuming content by other Tr*yJ*d*-ers#Fanworks made by others have always induced way more brainrot for me#Perhaps it's the cringe factor#Though it'd be a lie if I said that I never go insane from the brainrot while writing#It's a different brainrot though.... How should I even word this......#OH NO I RAN OUT OF TAGS. AGAIN. OKAY BYE

AO3 Wrapped #2 (Mari’s Version)
crazy year it has been for fic writing. careening into four(?) fandoms and being so absolutely insane about all of them. I think you can see here that I am not normal about anything ever
words written
technically, about 362k, but a lot of that is from my monster of a vampire au from … a while ago, so around 290k, probably. lmao.
works published
37, counting out the three chaptered fics I’ve had since before the year started, and also counting in one fic that’s on anon! I don’t know how I even got here, lmao. but it’s nice to know I’ve been pretty consistent with my writing this year, by my standards, anyway.
work I’m most proud of
what should we become, in what form, although only published in december, is one work I’ve been putting so much effort into since like … august, probably. this could be because that as much as the jujutsu kaisen world has disappointed me, it’s so dear to me—especially the characters. I’ve said this before, but while I knew I would become obsessed with satosugu even before I got into this fandom (what can I say, I’m weak for best friends, devotion, and betrayal), I didn’t expect to become so, so dearly attached to the gojo & megumi dynamic. so.
this fic, while it is worldbuilding and exploring gojo’s character, does also count as a love letter to them. I’ll stop now before I get carried away— (but be on the lookout for an update this month or next!)
also! shoutout to careless as could be! although it’s a rarepair, sigma & chuuya is a dynamic I’ve been enamored by since the moment they revealed sigma’s origin. something about humanness, affirming yourself, allowing yourself to live as the way you are, no matter what you were born from. their dynamic could be interesting and I’m genuinely hoping this is the direction asagiri takes it in once the narrative shifts back to focusing on dazai, chuuya, and sigma.
I think the thing I am most proud of with this fic is the characterization, because as I’ve said before, I’m so picky about sigma and chuuya characterization, even with my own writing, so it’s just … nice to see it done, you know?
also, I would say that the fic I wrote for New Year (which I unfortunately was not able to do this year), the little blue bird that’s lost its voice, does stand out. I think it does a good job depicting what it has to be like, loving your best friend, who, well. wants to die. shin and his mindset is always something that has intrigued me, of course, and who would I be if I didn’t add to the raiden/shin tag? overall, for how little this fic was planned, reading over it, I am happy with the thread of desperation and yearning that runs through the whole thing!
work that readers enjoyed the most
I’m not even going to lie when I say that evidently people are enjoying my taegyu porn, you know i want it bad, because. well. do I even have to say anything? I see you, you horny demons /aff (it is also worth noting that I refuse to look at this unless I get a comment …)
although. a close second is because you had shared it with me, this love and that’s…well, I do feel bad? I haven’t updated in a while not because I don’t feel the spark, but due to personal reasons, the very premise of this if i stay au kinda freaks me out. although I’m trying to ease myself back into it, the fact that the scary event that puts me off writing this au happened while I was well into writing it…well. I do try to tell myself that everything is okay now, but we’ll see. zeroses, please wait for me <3
fastest work to write
I have a lot of ficlets ranging from 1k to 2k that took a few hours to write (that’s the power of xikers I guess. specifically woojungz) but talking about longer fics, it took me about two days to write couldn’t even become a nobody, my transfem dazai / dazakiko fic, which is around 6k words, or speaking of even longer fics, five days like a deranged man with tunnel-vision for we’ve met like a miracle, my 13k T4T soulseob high school au. crazy work.
I’m kind of proud of myself, because even for the short amount of time and little to no editing done, I really do like what I did with that one there, especially because I was so busy with schoolwork and stuff, lol.
slowest work to write
strictly speaking of this year, this precious moment. not because I didn’t have the fuel, but because I was genuinely scared of what I was doing. I was kind of … doing a new thing for the fandom specifically, writing about a trans man’s pregnancy and subsequent raising of the child together with his partner. it took a few months, maybe? at least four.
while I know very well that there’s nothing wrong with that at all, it was such precious and personal work to me that I needed to do it justice, and also, I wasn’t ready to face criticism for it. I want to thank my friends sol and @draco-renn for encouraging me to post it. and draco for being the number one fan of the verse, haha. xi is the real reason I wrote that kindergarten sequel, really <3
number of WIPs I’m taking into 2025
um. well. quite a bit! if I do a process of elimination and count in only the ones I’m likely to be finishing, then 28 or so. at least. it’s a problem.
favorite character to write
*through gritted teeth* welcome, dazai osamu. I literally don’t like that dazai is so fun to write. what is wrong with him. go away you little gremlin.
okay but for real, besides the crowning king gendermess, I think my favorite to write this year has been either gojo or megumi. to absolutely no one’s surprise. there’s something fun about getting to write from their perspectives, especially exploring their respective stances on power, love, and what it means to be a sorcerer—and counting in both canon and in an au context, how they process the love they are given, how they react to more normal real-life situations. idk. they’re my beloved blorbos.
shoutout out to till alien stage. I love writing angry rebels who continually throw themselves into a wall. metaphorically and literally. I haven’t written luka perspective yet, but writing about him the way others see him … god. it’s so much fun.
favorite lines I’ve written this year:
from we’ve met like a miracle:
But. It’s Shota. He’s always been awfully good at tugging Jongseob along to his rhythm, catching all the flyaway strands of her seams as he goes, laughing in delight. And that’s the real miracle: that Jongseob’s been able to keep in step with him this entire time. She prays she never falls out of step, that their rhythm carries on.
from what should we become, in what form:
Because, he thinks as Tsumiki looks up at him with shining eyes and too-pale skin flushed with delight, searching for approval, he can’t let them become another Gojo Satoru, finding the meaning in life far too late, far too little of it. He can’t let them become another Geto Suguru, going crazy until salvation reaches him, only for that to not be enough, too.
He can’t let them become like this generation of sorcerers. He’ll be damned if either of them end up on Shoko’s morgue table, like nearly all his upperclassmen, like Haibara, or children like Riko—
“Tsumiki-chan wins!” he grins, and for once, his boisterousness feels real despite the tears threatening, despite the cursed energy crackling in the air as a result. It feels real and true and good, despite Megumi’s concerned blinking, like he doesn’t know what he’s sensing. The blinking morphs to an offended scowl.
from the little blue bird that’s lost its voice:
But, when has Raiden ever been someone who’s given up? Especially not on his friends. His best friends. The only boy he’s ever loved this much. Because anyone would be a fool to give up on Shinei Nouzen, constructed of fragile, jagged glass and unraveling stitches of frayed stubbornness, a core of bloodied, torn gold. Because even if Raiden shouldn’t, loving Shin has always been a foregone conclusion.
Because when you love someone, even the threat of shattering yourself isn’t enough to stop yourself from jumping off the edge with them, if nothing else.
and finally, from careless as could be:
“You come in here reeking of blood,” Sigma deadpans. They feel like they’re playing with a fire here, a dangerously volatile one, and it’s—it’s thrilling. Besides, it is unfair of Chuuya to say that. “I’ve heard too much about what you’re capable of.”
You scare me, they don’t say. Judging from Chuuya’s raised eyebrow, he heard the subtext loud and clear, and he smirks. He smirks.
“That’s true,” he agrees. “It’d be easy enough for me to break your neck.”
Sigma’s stomach flips. “Would you?”
this was entirely based on @fushiglow ’s post! and also @hollow-lime-green !
anyone who sees this is welcome to try this as well! I think you’d like doing this, @anticidic @ryuvnosuke @littencloud9 @sunnyyflowerrs @zukkaoru but no pressure ofcs <3

Hi there, hello! For the prompts, if you're still doing them: Escape, hugs, or emblem
Happy writing!
You were actually the first to send in a prompt, so yeah, I was still open for them. I went with "escape" with a hint of "hugs" (or, well, hug, singular).
Escape
Rating: Gen Warnings: brief mentions of Vlad being creepy, the general implications of a middle-age man being obsessed with a teenage boy if you don't know about the half-ghost thing Words: 2,253 Additional Tags: Trans Danny Fenton, AU - canon divergence, Identity reveal
[AO3]
---
“Who did you say you were, again?” Danny asked, looking down at the girl standing outside his house, looking just like he had when he was eight. Long hair in a sloppy ponytail, baggy clothes, and all.
The girl grinned up at him, clearly nervous and trying to hide it. “Dani,” she said, “with an I.”
Danny cast another skeptical eye over her. She didn’t feel like a ghost, beyond the metaphorical ghost of seeing his own past, but it sure wasn’t right. “It’s not time travel though, is it?”
“No,” she admitted, slowly, drawing the word out. “I think that that might’ve been easier on both of us.”
“Figures.” Danny sighed, shook his head, then stepped aside to let her in. “Sit down, this sounds like it’s gonna be a long story.”
“Probably.” She grimaced, but slipped past him. God, had he really been this small at that age? Surely not. Clearly Dani wasn’t him, so he should stop comparing the two of them.
Danny followed her into the living room, where she had claimed one of the comfortable chairs. He rolled his eyes but followed her example, sitting down in a different chair. He probably should’ve invited her up to his room, but something about that felt… weird. Not to mention that she was a stranger, no matter how much she reminded him of, well, himself.
Besides, his parents were down in the lab. They probably wouldn’t surface for hours, if not days.
“Okay, so…” Dani trailed off, then fell silent. Licked her lips. “Um. I’m not sure what to say. Or, uh, how to say it?”
He groaned. “Just. Anything. Who are you and why do you look like me?”
“Well, that’s easy,” she said optimistically. “That’s because I’m your clone!” She paused, before tacking on. “Supposed to be, anyway.”
“My—What?!” Danny’s eyes darted over her again, taking in every detail of her appearance. How, from the moment he saw her, his first thought had been himself. “Who would even—” He felt himself pause. “No, stupid question. Vlad, of course.”
She nodded, grimacing. “Yeah. He was going to age me up further, I think to your age, but.” She gestured at herself, then the room. “I kind of ran away before he could get around to that.”
“Why?” Danny rubbed a hand over his face. “Not that I blame you, because I’m sure I would’ve done the same, but…”
“I… Spur of the moment decision, kinda.” She shrugged, eyes darting away and back again. Posture hunched. “He was… I guess I was always a failure, but he pretended I wasn’t. And I… I believed him.”
He waited for a moment for her to continue, but she stayed silent. “Well, you didn’t know any better, did you?” He shrugged awkwardly. Encouraging people wasn’t exactly his thing. “I can’t blame you for that.”
Dani huffed, but shot him a wry smile. “Thanks. Um. Anyway. I overheard him talking, or, uh, muttering? I wasn’t going to stay, but then I heard my name, and, well.” She shrugged, that same wry smile on her face. “So I stuck around, listening in. And I… he…”
She sighed, deep and rattling, her shoulders dropping down. “He was talking about what a failure I was, how I hadn’t turned out right at all. What a shame it was that I was the best clone so far, when I was so far off of the mark.”
“Wow.”
“Yeah.” She snorted, shaking her head. “At least there wasn’t much space for self-delusion that he didn’t really mean it.”
Danny snorted as well. “At least it got you away from him, huh?” Away from Vlad, and right into Danny’s hands. Well, his house, at least. Shit. What was he supposed to do now? Gaslight his parents that he had always had a little sister? He couldn’t exactly let an eight-year old run loose, even ignoring the fact that she looked exactly like a younger him.
“Ghost powers definitely helped.” She winked, coyly, then froze suddenly. It took Danny a moment to realize what she had heard. The metal door of the lab. In the kitchen. Uh oh.
Before he could decide what to do—get Dani away and into his room, probably—his mom appeared in the doorway to the kitchen. The light glinted off of the red goggles on her forehead, drawing his eye right to her furrowed brows.
“Danny, sweetheart, who’s this?”
Danny opened his mouth, ready to deliver some sort of perfect excuse. “My clone, apparently,” came out instead. He grimaced, but didn’t refute it. Stupid mouth. One day he should learn how to think before speaking.
“Your… clone,” Maddie repeated, slowly, eyes moving between him and Dani. She moved further into the room, clearly taking in the same similarities that Danny had immediately—instinctively—noticed. Jack appeared behind her, looming in the doorway, but stayed silent as Maddie moved. “So this would be…”
“Danielle,” Dani supplied quietly, when Maddie trailed off, clearly waiting for an answer. “Um. Dani with an I.”
Maddie nodded, stopping next to the couch. Still facing the chairs in which Danny and Dani were sitting. “I see. And where did you come from, Dani?”
Dani shot him an uncertain look, but Danny honestly didn’t have any great excuses either. He shrugged back, but took the lead when she stayed quiet. “Vlad’s, apparently.”
“Vlad.” Maddie frowned again, eyes locked onto Dani. “Vlad Masters?”
“Who else,” Dani muttered, shoulders hunched up again. Danny wasn’t sure if it was nerves, defensiveness, or something else.
“Vladdie?” Jack echoed, finally coming into the room, and clearly startling Dani with his loud voice, based on the way she jerked in her chair. “The V-man cloned Danny?”
Now how was he supposed to explain this without revealing his secret in the process? Well, here goes nothing. “Uh, yeah,” he agreed, shrugging again. “He’s been super weird pretty much since we met him during that reunion. I didn’t think it was this bad, though.” He nodded towards Dani. “No offense to you, Dani.”
“None taken.” She offered him a shaky grin. “It is pretty weird to clone someone without their permission. Or knowledge.”
“Or consent,” Maddie chimed in, voice dark and expression darker. “Danny, why didn’t you say anything before?”
Because he couldn’t really say anything without revealing he was half-ghost, or that Vlad was half-ghost, or both. “Well, he never really did anything.” Bold lie. Speed past it fast, Fenton, before she catches on. “Besides, what was I supposed to say? ‘Vlad gives me the creeps’? Nothing would be done.”
He shrugged loosely, trying to stamp down the fluttering in his stomach—and his core. He didn’t like lying to his parents, but if he could just get through this conversation with his secret intact…
“There was nothing specific?” Maddie was still frowning, but at least she was moving to sit down on the couch now. Jack was still looming near the doorway, uncharacteristically quiet, but Danny would take what he could get and worry about the rest later. “Nothing he did or said?”
“No. Well, actually…” He grimaced. “He keeps calling me Daniel even if I ask him to call me Danny. But I think that that’s just a smug ‘I know better than you’ thing, not a transphobic thing.”
On the other chair, Dani was now also frowning at him. What? What did he do?
“That’s not even your name.” Maddie huffed, shaking her head, frown finally lightening. “Ugh, that man.”
“What do you mean,” Dani finally cut in, having apparently lost her patience with waiting. “With, um. The transphobia thing? What does that mean?”
Oh. No, of course, that made sense. Who would’ve taught an eight year old clone about that stuff? Certainly not stuffy old Vlad.
“Danny-boy wasn’t always Danny-boy!” Jack appeared out of nowhere, enthusiastically clapping a hand on Danny’s shoulder. He startled, just barely tamping down the instinct to phase away. He hadn’t even noticed his dad move further into the room, distracted by his thoughts. Sloppy. “He used to be a girl! Or at least, we thought he was, until he told us otherwise! Right, Danny-o?”
“Yeah,” he grunted, rolling his shoulder with a grimace. “I changed my name to Danny years ago, and most people don’t even remember my old one, but people acting weird about calling me Danny is still a bit of a red flag.”
“Oh.” Dani blinked, clearly processing. “I guess that that makes sense.”
In what way? Was Dani also trans? Did cloning copy transgender-ism? “Yeah?”
“Yeah.” She nodded, expression clearing up. “Now I understand why I was the most stable clone. Vlad thought something went wrong with me because I turned out female, but clearly he was messing up the other clones by forcing them to be male from birth.”
“Other clones?” he repeated. Then processed the rest. “Wait. The most stable? What—”
“Uh, yeah.” She shrugged, face falling. “They. We… I guess cloning isn’t as easy as Vlad thought. So we’re all somewhere along the lines of ‘somewhat unstable’ to ‘very unstable’. And, um. We melt.”
“Melt.” He felt like a moron, just repeating her words. But. Well. What was he supposed to say?
Luckily his mom figured it out before him. “Danielle, sweetheart, what do you mean by melt?”
“We, so.” She frowned, clearly weighing her words. Shot him a quick glance, though he couldn’t figure out what the look in her eyes meant. “Vlad used ectoplasm in the cloning process. So, um. We—us clones—we’re all kind of… half-ghost? And if we use up too much energy, one way or another, we kind of… melt back into ectoplasm?”
Oh. So that is what that look meant.
Also, yikes.
“Well, that makes sense,” Maddie muttered, a thoughtful frown on her face. “Humans and ghosts are biologically entirely different. There is no overlap whatsoever. Or at least, that’s what we always assumed.”
“It must be more possible than we thought, though,” Jack pointed out, previous enthusiasm muted again. “Otherwise she couldn’t even exist, let alone be this stable.”
Maddie nodded, frown still in place. “Right. But how do we stabilize her further? We can’t exactly re-alive her, not if she has been part ghost since birth…”
Danny turned to shoot Dani a look, but she didn’t seem overly bothered by the conversation topic. On the other hand, if she was used to Vlad, he supposed that his parents weren’t that bad.
Wow, now that was a thought he hadn’t had before.
“Well, we can’t exactly make her less alive either, Jack.” Maddie’s dry voice cut through Danny’s thoughts, and he snapped back to the conversation. Right. The important conversation. About half-ghosts.
“Maybe there’s a perfect mid-point,” Jack suggested instead, while Danny tried to figure out where the conversation had gone while he wasn’t paying attention. “Where both ghost and human balance each other out?”
“But wouldn’t that still put too much strain on the body?” Maddie’s gaze had shifted to Dani, but it didn’t seem like she was really looking at her. “If her human and ghost halves are constantly battling for dominance, isn’t that why she’s unstable now? Unless balancing them somehow gets them to co-exist, which doesn’t make sense…”
Wait. Are they really… trying to help Dani? Not by making her ‘normal’, by making her fully human, but by finding some way she can exist as half-ghost?
Would that… also go for him? Or only for Dani because she was essentially born half-ghost?
Does it matter? He knows what a stable half-ghost looks like. If him staying quiet about his own secret makes it harder to help Dani… what kind of shitty brother would that make him?
“Actually,” he blurted out, interrupting his parents’ conversation and immediately drawing three pairs of eyes to him, “I’m also half-ghost?”
He licked his lips, stalling for a moment. “So. Um. That’s actually why Vlad is interested in me, and tried cloning me, I guess. Because I’ve been half-ghost since the accident with the Portal.” He paused, then hesitantly tacked on, “Sorry.”
“Oh, honey, no.” Maddie reached out a hand, then paused when he automatically shifted away. “We’re sorry you felt like you couldn’t tell us before.”
A massive hand landed on his head. This time, Danny couldn’t repress his automatic response, and he phased through the hand—and the chair—before he could stop himself.
Grimacing, he looked up from where he had landed on the floor, meeting Jack’s startled eyes. “Um. Sorry.”
“Don’t be, Danny-boy.” Jack held out a hand, and Danny cautiously took it. “My bad for startling you.”
Danny let himself be pulled to his feet, then suddenly found himself trapped in Jack’s arms. Oh. A hug. Right. It had been… a while.
He let himself sag against his dad, melting in the embrace. And then stiffened. Right. Melting. Dani. Focus, Danny. Priorities.
“Anyway, so.” He cleared his throat, and waited for his dad to release him again. “So, we can compare my stats to Dani’s and see why she’s unstable. Right?”
“Right,” his mom agreed. She was looking at him like he might flee any moment, but. But at least she wasn’t looking at him he was her dead son. Or a despicable ghost. This was just. Just normal emotions.
“So, um.” He gestured at the kitchen door, vaguely. “Let’s. Go do that?”
“Right, right, of course.” Maddie wiped a hand past her eyes, mostly inconspicuously, then got up from her chair. “Come on, kids. Let’s go figure this out.”

your ocs!!!!! please ramble about them!!!!
i love your art so much
(GRABS YOU) H. CAN DO BOSS.
So ! My ocs. I guess I'll do an overall explainer for the overall groups. If you check out my Toyhouse (LINK!) there's a bunch of folders up top that are how I categorise them. It's primarily by universe except for the folders that are just "misc."
So folder 1: Blatant favouritism:
These are silly little guys that don't fit in any specific wider universe, but I really really like. So I'll spotlight the two important ones before i get real in the weeds with my main universe.
In here are notably, my Fursona (self explanatory), Ali and Pittsburgh Cincinnati. There's also Hauntkit and Clearpelt who are warriorcats ocs that *is dragged away by airport security*
... So, Pittsburgh, lovingly sometimes called pissbug, is a weird little Thing who I made as like, an homage to characters like happy bunny and Sweetypuss. She (and her weird dog) exist to stand next to strange and offputting captions. I love her. No further context. She's just silly. and violent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now. Ali.
Ali Alighieri has thoroughly stolen the show, and also ties into the next folder along, Making Your MK.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With over a hundred extra images compared to second place (Sorry, Tabitha). Ali is my fucked up little scrunkly. My little baby guy. They're a shared character of mine and @samhainian's, and is from their Creature Feature setting (A modern fantasy setting wherein Cryptids and Magic are real but in our modern world.) They are as such, a modern human young adult... Who is also a demon + magic user.
Strange little pansexual altersex genderqueer poetry-nerd that they are... The modern setting also means they are literally just a tumblr user. A fellow countryman, so to speak.
HOWEVER.... Ali's true origin was in *Purrgatorio*, a scrapped visual novel of mine set in the MYMK universe! They were simply retrofitted into CF as the joke with Purrgatorio was that a regular human had mysteriously just shown up in MYMK's pure-furry setting.... And then when we scrapped the project we got all attatched to our little not-so-blank-slate protagonist. But I'll put a pin in Purrgatorio for later.
Tumblr media
Making Your MK.
(Guest of honour: My super unfinished website <3)
Okay so here's the big one. The setting with.... (looks at spreadsheet) 109 characters not including so-called incidentals. At time of writing.
MYMK is home to... Multiple stories. As you would hope when a setting has 100+ characters. I'd wager each story has about 10-20 relevant characters tops but with a big shared universe like this there gets to be overlap between casts!!! Yay !!! 😊😊😊
MYMK is the name of the main story in the setting. Pronounced "Making your Mark", it is centered around Markus Felidae (The purple one) and their family. It's very action-adventure-y. It's also the plot I'm most secretive about the backend of since I WILL!!!!! Turn it into a nice prose story with pictures SOMEDAY!!!!! But for now tee hee hee secrets secrets. Markus' family is strange and ragtag and is keeping something from them... I can't ramble on too long here unless further prompted in asks about specifics but!!! Everyone in the MYMK folder has a fully furbished little profile with a blurb about them. So if you're curious....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But yeah, I tend to think of the MYMK setting more in terms of its Locations than its Casts, due to the overlapping nature of them all. The Malbranche may be the villains of the main plot, but they're also major players in relation to The Palsgrave who are the antagonists of Moraine, etc etc,
The country everything in MYMK is set in is called New Orphidian, Southern hemisphere little thing, here's a very cartoony map of it.
Tumblr media
Um. Cliffside!
Since it's the best map I have... Here's an exclusive sneak peek of a Zine I'll be getting back to once the fandom brain cools down a bit.... :3c
Tumblr media
(... I REALLY NEED TO DO A TOUR AROUND THE MINECRAFT CLIFFSIDE SAM AND I BUILT..... IT'S SO CUTE....)
Cliffside is situated on a big ol' Cliff.
A tiny hamlet of a place, it used to have reason to exist, and now does not. It's not even a good tourist locale, as the cliff is much too dangerous compared to the nicer tourist spot of Welkin just a little north. Not to mention nearby Moraine's allure as a tax haven with no labour laws place where a bunch of TV and Movies are filmed!
It's where most of MYMK's main cast reside (except the antagonists from the Big City Varmonte), and is as such a location I have a lot of tiny little worldbuilding thoughts about :)
Tumblr media
I won't go into the other locations here just because then this post will SUPER get away from me but... I think most importantly for Cliffside right now...
Is that it's where Purrgatorio is set. Yes, that VN I said got scrapped. It's not dead. It is in fact serving it's original intended purpose as "A (mostly) noncanon exploration of character voice and setting"
It's back and its prose babeyyyyyyy!!! (A BUNCH OF THE EARLY STUFF IS ME BEING SUPER RUSTY ... BE WARNED)
Purrgatorio is currently the most publicly available coherent work I have out of my ocs! It's very low-stakes and serves mostly to bash my toys together and see what character dynamics come out, but you can look if you want to!
(There's also a whole THING on the meta of its Canonicity... It's not canon, but it's also not NOT canon. But if I talk about Metanarrative Timeline Collapse in my normal mundane non-magic setting im gonna sound bonkers ✌)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ali's dynamics with the MYMK cast are so goddamn funny to me. Like I literally just handed my OCs some ET shit but ET is a sexually repressed tumblr user with a mood disorder.
But yeah I don't think I can coherently string together much more about MYMK without just actually explaining THE WHOLE PLOT.... Though I will absolutely elaborate on any given character's Whole Deal if i'm prompted. (OH MY GOD I DIDNT EVEN TALK ABOUT CHROME AND TABITHA. WAIT. OKAY THERE'S. OK NO IF I TALKED ABOUT THEM IT'D JUST END UP AN ESSAY ,SORRY..)
So here's some bonafide classic images for the road.
(IF TUMBLR BREAKS THE FORMATTING AND JUST PUTS THESE ONE AFTER THE OTHER INSTEAD OF IN A GRID IM SO SORRY LMAOOOOO)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
... And as for the other folders on my toyhouse!
Misc and Fandom are what they sound like. Self explanatory,
Then, Ysden is @samhainian's fantasy setting. It's where our DnD games happen to be set but it's also a general fantasy setting :)
and Monster of the Week... Is currently being revamped! It used to be a modern world setting with hidden magic, now it's going to be more... Adventure Time-y. Fantasy world get iphone. Yknow. It has a lower Age Rating than MYMK's "anything goes", as it started as a Pitch Bible Project in my animation class. They're a little neglected but I still love them :) The revamp is extemely recent and not reflected in any of the art/writing yet but I'm workin on it. It still doesn't have a proper title..... OTL
So yeah!! Uh. This wasn't as comprehensive as I was hoping but it turns out I have way, WAY too many thoughts on my guys. And no idea what to do when im actually asked about them so !!!! This was not a very coherent ramble but it was a ramble !
There's things like essays on Chrome and Tabitha (Link) and also The Queer Gender Identities Of The Whole Cast (Link) hiding around on my toyhouse, and once again, Purrgatorio (Link) serves as my sandbox for playing with how these characters act in situations.
But..... ! I did try to make my toyhouse approachable for the average layman. Every character in the MYMK folder (Link) has a *blurb* of information, rather than a giant wall of text explaining everything about them. I want people to be able to understand their general vibe at a glance rather than be overwhelmed.
In any case ???? Uh. Fun game for everyone: If you know your homestuck classpect, every single MYMK character has a classpect and lunar sway. and a birthday. Try and find your andrew-hussie assigned kin! As a Prospitian Witch of Heart, I share my classpect and lunar sway with Chrome. No I don't know what this means. It worries me honestly he's kind of an asshole.

honestly not sure where to even Start to look for if we ever saw Marinette be informed that Adrien knows Alya and Nino's identities - this is important to keep me from trying to cobble together a headcanon fic and then feeling Foolish

The Ghost of You--FINAL Chapter!
Sanegiyuu/Sabigiyuu Angst/Hurt Comfort Total words: 28.5k
Giyuu reckons with the past and faces the future
FINAL CHAPTER/COMPLETE FIC UP NOW HERE!
Tumblr media
Urokodaki’s cabin was quiet, and pitch dark. Sabito had come to bed late after tucking Makomo in in her room adjacent to theirs and found Giyuu already lying on his bed roll, his back to him. There was a spring rain still trickling outside their window.
He’d made a show of poking fun at Giyuu’s new kitsune mask once Urokodaki had turned his back, good-naturedly of course, just to make sure Giyuu knew everything was fine. He’d seen the way Giyuu barely picked at his noodles across from him at dinner that night, had fallen back into his characteristic silence while he and Makomo tried on their new masks and read a few books before bed. Sabito stood in the doorway for just a moment watching Giyuu breathe, then moved past his bedroll to slide into his own.
Giyuu was not asleep. He was staring at the wall, at the kitsune mask he’d rested beside his pillow, the practice blade in its sheath at arm’s reach with the little red fox charm hanging from the hilt. He did not move when he heard Sabito come in, hoping he’d just ignore him and go to sleep. They both were going to need their rest, after all.
In his mind he repeated the instruction Urokodaki had given them over dinner. It’s just like another day of training, don’t think of it as any different. You’ll use your breathing, your reflexes, and each other, just like on the mountain. Though even their sensei had been a little tense, but when he tipped up his tengu mask to eat with them, Giyuu could see clear pride in his eyes.
Giyuu didn’t want to disappoint Urokodaki; in fact he was terrified of it. Disappointing his sensei at Final Selection meant…
Distant thunder rolled outside. Finally, Giyuu sat up.
“Sabito?”
Sabito rolled over. He knew Giyuu wasn’t asleep without looking at him; he could tell just by the pace and depth of his worried breathing. “Yeah?” Giyuu was looking at him owl-eyed and nervous, running his thumbs over his fingers.
“Are you scared?”
He looked at Giyuu for a moment, then snorted and flashed him his favorite grin. “Of course not! Those demons should be scared of us !” he proclaimed. For once his smile didn’t seem to catch on.
Giyuu looked at the floor between them, then scooted himself a little closer. He knew Sabito was going to say that. He also knew Sabito was lying. As much as he’d tried to joke and grin his way through it, Giyuu didn’t miss that he too had barely picked at his dinner. The smile didn’t quite reach his eyes.
“But what if--what if something happens?” He wasn’t like Sabito. He never had been. He wasn’t courageous and bold and loud-mouthed. Even if Sabito was scared, he could hide it and press on anyway, confident and brave. He tried to share Sabito’s optimism, but couldn’t. In his twisting gut he felt death creeping up into his throat, like he was marked for it. Like his name was on the top of the reaper’s list.
“What if I die?” his voice was little more than a whisper.
For once, Sabito wasn’t quite sure what to say. Giyuu pulled himself closer and folded his legs up to his chest, hugging them tightly. Older now than his sister was when she was killed. Had she felt marked, too? When she looked into her future what had she seen? Did she, like Giyuu now, look into the future and see nothing but a black shroud, her clock ticking down to zero? Tears welled in his eyes.
Sabito edged closer too. “Giyuu, you’re not gonna die.” he finally said sincerely. “You can’t. You’re Momo-chan’s favorite and if you die she’ll be stuck with me!” He bumped Giyuu’s shoulder with his fist like he always used to. Even that failed to jar him out of his silence.
That running out of time feeling pressed him closer and closer to the edge of some kind of precipice. Maybe the Tomioka bloodline was just fated to end here. Maybe he was never meant to have friends, someone he liked, someone to kiss. He wanted to run, like he did so long ago. After another moment of silence, Sabito grabbed him by the wrist.
“Hey. Listen to me.” he said, uncharacteristically serious. “You’re going to be fine.” Sabito grinned at him again, bigger and crinklier this time. Giyuu released his grip on his own legs and set his hands down on the floor instead, taking a deep, shaking breath. Sabito put his hand over Giyuu’s.  “C’mon.” he said lightly. “You know I’ll always look out for you and Makomo.” Sabito squeezed Giyuu’s hand, brought it upwards to examine the little scars on his fingertips and run his own fingers over them.
And Giyuu finally nodded, because he did know. And Giyuu finally raised his free hand to gently touch the scar on the side of Sabito’s face. He still didn’t know exactly how it had happened. Sabito leaned into his touch so Giyuu’s palm rested completely on his cheek, and grinned even wider. It met his eyes this time.
“You’re kind of a sap, you know that?” he said with a laugh. Giyuu sniffed but nodded again. Sabito reached out and ruffled Giyuu’s hair affectionately before taking the hand Giyuu had placed on his cheek in his. “That’s okay, I won’t tell Makomo. She still thinks you’re cool.” Giyuu even laughed a little at that. Sabito laughed back. “In a week, when we get back, lets see if sensei will get us some more konpeito from town, okay? I think we’ll have earned it.”
“Okay.” Giyuu nodded, still in awe that Sabito had yet to knock his hand away from his face, that the pink flesh of his scar was so soft. “I’ll let you have all my green ones.”
Sabito slung his arm over Giyuu’s shoulders and squeezed him, then leaned back in his bedroll with Giyuu still resting on his shoulder. “I’m gonna hold you to that, Tomioka,” With his head against Sabito’s chest Giyuu could feel him still chuckling. He thought he might have felt Sabito pressing his lips onto the top of his head. They finally fell asleep entwined, his hand still in Sabito’s and his head still on his chest. Giyuu had never felt so warm in all his life.
*
While he listened numbly to the strange woman giving him instruction, Giyuu had never felt so cold in all his life. She was saying something about rocks, how he was supposed to pick one, he watched the meager few of the starting class who had managed to survive all come forward and do as they were told, but he couldn’t seem to move. His body didn’t feel like his own without Sabito’s arm around him, without Makomo’s little hand in his.
The walk back to Urokodaki was so long he wondered if he’d ever make it at all, so long that by the time his path headed into the mountain forest, he’d nearly forgotten where he was going. His left side had been badly injured at some point, now everything was such a blur he couldn’t even recall when or how, but it throbbed and sent shockwaves of pain up his spine with each step. Each step that carried him further and further away from Sabito.
His body carried on as if independent of him, like a cockroach that refused to just die already, like it didn’t know it was supposed to have died back among the wisteria and distant screaming. His kitsune mask hung heavy around his neck; his practice sword and fox charm dragged on the ground beside him.
Urokodaki fell to his knees when he saw him. Just him. Giyuu didn’t move while Urokodaki grabbed him by the arms, then the face, begging to know if he was alright. Giyuu didn’t say a word. Not when Urokodaki threw his tengu mask to the side to reveal tears rolling down his age-weathered cheeks, not when he grabbed him and hugged him so tightly he could barely breathe. Not when he’d taken him inside and asked what had happened to his left arm--bleeding, Giyuu realized, looking at the trail of red he’d tracked in--and not when Urokodaki held him again, his hand on his head, apologizing to him , begging his forgiveness for sending them out to Final Selection at all.
It felt like he’d just woken up when he stood in the doorway to their room and stared at their bedrolls. Giyuu’s neat and folded, Sabito’s still rumpled and in disarray. He could see the imprints of their bodies where they’d slept side by side. He wanted to throw up. Finally then, he spoke.
“I’m sorry.” he whispered to Urokodaki. To the bedrolls. To the imprints of their bodies beside one another, where he wished he was now. A body. But beside him. “I’m sorry.”
I’m sorry was all he said for two weeks.
He laid facedown on his bed roll that night, exhausted but unable to sleep. The room was so quiet it was making his ears ring. Urokodaki refused to leave him, sitting silently vigil in the corner of their—of his— room, his hands trembling as he mended the damaged left side of Giyuu’s haori to keep himself busy. Much of the fabric was beyond saving. He’d have to use something he had on hand. Giyuu barely noticed him.
Through the crack in the door, in his exhaustion, he thought he could see Sabito leaning out toward him with that wrinkled-nose smile, missing the tooth on the front left side, just like that first night. He couldn’t even cry.
It wasn’t until the blue light of dawn was fading through the window that the mercy of sleep finally dragged Giyuu into unconsciousness. His pale hand stretched out from his bed roll and resting on the cold floor, he swore he could still hear Sabito’s promises. You know I’ll always look out for you. You’re not going to die, Giyuu.
He wished Sabito would have warned him there was something even worse.
*
Giyuu’s hand was resting on something warm, he realized before he opened his eyes. He wasn’t even sure when he’d fallen asleep. The last thing he remembered was—he tightened his hand and felt his chest tighten with it. He’d kissed Sanemi. Or, Sanemi had kissed him? Had he been dreaming?
He opened his eyes and froze. It was Sanemi’s chest his hand had been resting on, the ribs he’d bandaged. And Sanemi was letting him. Giyuu blinked. No, no, Sanemi’s just asleep. His arm closest to Giyuu was raised, his hand tucked behind his head. Giyuu cautiously lifted his own hand and began to retract it. Sanemi’s eyes opened and practically snapped to him.
“Hey.” Sanemi said while Giyuu’s mouth hung open in shock....

Hi hello I have two questions for yall
does anyone here know decent book editing software that isnt indesign because i cant afford indesign and its a little incomprehensible (pretty much I'm looking how I can edit a book with spread pages and images) nothing insanely fancy, I am just looking to turn one of my big lore google docs into something nice and art-book looking I wanna be able to do something like this, for example
Tumblr media
what I am looking to do is basically turn my challenger deep lore doc into an actual lore book so I will hopefully do some illustrations for it down the line for each section of it. so the next question is then:
would any of you be interested in purchasing that? it would be digital (unless there's an insane amount of interest for physical editions, in which case I will consider it)

hi! this might be a weird question but did you ever finish/publish the trebonius sourcebook? your agenda transcends time and space and id love to dig into him in a cohesive way. no worries if not though 💜
god, I wish, but my laptop died last year and the one I’m currently borrowing until I can save up for new one can’t really handle running more than one application, which means I can’t write and research at the same time. alas!

Tumblr I had an extremely vivid dream which was basically an act 2 finale/act 3 post intermission scene of a fucked up fae court broadway drama and if i don't tell someone about it I'll forget it and I cannot. allow that. to happen. I'm gonna describe it in as much detail as I can but then I'm going to write the rest as prose because this is my new headworld now apparently and I am OBSESSED WITH IT and no one is gonna write fanfiction for me to read about it so I just have to push up my flannel sleeves and do it myself.
In the dream itself, I was either waiting in the wings to go on stage, or I was a stage hand, but given the rest of the sequence played in-universe I'm going to assume it was the former. I got to see the actress for the main villain of the show, this kinda cross between Elphaba from Wicked, Elsa from Frozen, and Vyranoth and the Winter Queen from World of Warcraft, as she put on this giant plastic icey helm dotted with LEDS, that I originally thought had animations projected onto it like modern disney rides, but when I woke up realized it was more likely to just be a weird screen in and of itself playing her fae-like facial expressions as she sang to make it look like her whole head was made of ice. She was impossibly tall, and wearing a massive flowing black gown and billowing cloak- partly she was just a tall actress, partly though the head wasn't actually over her head, it was on a rig over her shoulders to give her more height- and because the plan was for her head to *come off* at some point during the show when she got beheaded, I think. That didn't happen in the scope of the dream but i knew that was how it was supposed to work. The way she got felled on stage though was through an elaborate system of ropes and flying rigs that as she was mid-leap towards an opponent in the big battle happening on stage, a *massive* amount of these long metal javelin-like spears were lobbed at her and appeared to pierce her back and sides until she looked like a massive porcupine. She hits the deck in agony in the midst of a massive musical crescendo and the curtain falls for intermission, which my brain skipped, but after that the intro-conceit of this taking place on stage was also dropped, so there went all the multi-coloured light films and the staging and music for the most part. The part that stuck with me is the aftermath- the act-3 scene-1 type beat, though it was almost entirely in-universe from this point on. There were other characters and initially the staging was vaguely simpatico with the idea of a stage show- but all that slowly faded away into my perspective character and this enormous figure of this ice queen.
