Leon’s never been good with words.
He’d actually go so far as to say that he’s bad with them—abysmal, even. The most he can usually muster in tense situations is a terse, “Okay,” and an awkward shuffle of his feet. His jokes suck, too, which leaves him with only the talent to dig himself into deeper holes, blush furiously, and pray that people find him charming enough to overlook his utter lack of social skills.
This tactic had only really worked in his favor once.
This tactic had only really worked on you.
He’d met you four years ago at Claire’s 21st birthday party. She’d held it at a bar not too far from home, invited all of her friends, and conveniently omitted that he’d be the only guy in attendance. When he pulled her aside, when he’d hissed and complained and anger had gripped at his chest, she’d pouted. And that was enough to assuage his frustration.
“They’re great girls, Leon, one of them ought to catch your eye.”
Leon had rolled his eyes. “I don’t need you to play matchmaker, Claire.”
“Because you’ve had so many successful dates recently,” she’d said sardonically with her hand on her hip.
No arguing there; his love life had been about as bleak as his platonic social life as of late. The girls he met were either off-put by his awkward demeanor or willing to overlook it, but only in it for sex. The latter wasn’t too bad, he figured, but not what he was looking for, either. In fact, Leon wasn’t sure he even wanted a relationship. He just wanted someone with whom he could laugh. It’d been a while since he’d laughed.
“Claire,” he sighed, “I’m not—“
“—looking for that, yeah. Whatever, Leon. Talk to them. Maybe you’ll find a roommate, then. Solve another one of your many problems.”
Not a terrible point, but not a good one either. Claire didn’t want to hear that, though. Especially on her birthday.
His roommate moved out a few weeks ago. The first of the month was coming soon. He could afford to pay for one month in full but he’d need a new roommate soon. He’d sulked over to the bar in resignation, ordered a bourbon (neat) and sipped on it while watching from afar. He checked his watch — 30 more minutes, and he could go home. He hadn’t gotten any hits on his ad  yet. Maybe his it needed updating. Maybe he should rewrite it.
“We can’t both leave at the same time, you know.”
Leon turned to his left to see you perched on a barstool, espresso martini in hand. You looked positively bored, your face drained of all color, though he couldn’t deny that the fluorescent neon lights overhead suited you. Cute, he thought, pretty.Very pretty.
Maybe the ad could wait.
“What makes you think I’m trying to leave?”
You’d given him a pointed look before taking a sip of your drink. He’d chuckled, “Okay, who do you suggest leave first then?”
“Me, obviously.”
He’d taken the seat next to yours, one hand in his jacket pocket. “That desperate to get out?”
“Kinda,” you muttered with a smile. “And I’ve been here longer than you have so it’d be unfair if you got to leave first.”
“Okay.”
“Okay,” you’d echoed.
End of conversation, clearly, but you hadn’t moved. You’d stayed put. You’d angled your legs toward him; he’d mirrored the action. You refrained from ordering a second drink, he did as well. And he was surprised at how comfortable it was, sitting with you like this. Quiet, brushing knees every so often.
“You have any jokes, stranger?” you’d asked.
His lips had curled into a smile. “Aside from the fact that Claire only invited me to hook her up with one of her single friends and didn’t tell me until I showed up? Yeah, I got plenty.”
“Oh, so you’re Leon,” you’d laughed. “She told me about you.”
Leon flushed a horrific shade of crimson. “Christ,” he muttered, “That’s… humiliating.”
“It isn’t,” you placated with a mirthful smile, “I promise. She only had nice things to say.”
“A pleasure to have in class, I’m sure,” Leon quips. He unstuck his feet from the bar floor with a frown. He nearly gagged at the sound it made.
You’d giggled at that. “Something like that.”
“What’s your verdict? Was she truthful or was she Claire about it?” he’d asked.
You’d mulled over this question with a down-turned smile. He liked the way you smiled. He liked the way your eyes gleamed underneath the blue light bathing the bar. “Very truthful, unfortunately,” you admitted without making eye contact.
Leon stifled a smile of his own and chose to focus on keeping his feet from staying on one place for too long lest they get glued to the filthy floor once more. He’d looked up at you, and had been surprised to find you already eyeing him.
“Why unfortunately?”
“Because I’m not looking for anything serious. Or at all, really.”
That had been unfortunate. You’d divulged that you’d recently gotten out of a tumultuous long-term relationship, and that you were in search for a new place to live. The apartment you two had shared was under his name so you were crashing at Claire’s until something became available.
“I’m looking for a roommate,” he’d blurted out before he could even consider the implications. You’d furrowed your brows, taken aback by his brazenness, but your surprise quickly melted into acceptance.
You swallowed a sip of your drink and asked, “Are you a clean person?”
“Obsessively so.”
“And you’re not the ‘I can fix her’ type?”
Leon had laughed at that. “Not much of a handyman, really.”
“Serial killer? Sexual deviant?”
“No, and I guess that depends on what you consider deviant.”
The rightmost corner of your mouth curled into a lopsided smile. You drained the remnants of your drink, placed the martini glass on the granite bar top, and asked, “When can I move in?”
When you both reflect on this meeting now, you laugh at the eagerness with which you’d accepted his proposal. You chastise yourself for jumping the gun, for taking his answers at face value because yeah, choosing to move in with a total stranger was foolish. But in the four years since, you’d never come to regret your decision to move in with Leon.
He was terribly respectful of your space, even early on when you’d spend most of your nights crying and lamenting on your past relationship. He’d made popcorn and sat on the couch sharing a bottle of wine with you when you needed support. When you told him you’d expected a proposal on the night your boyfriend had broken up with you, he’d balked.
Leon opened up to you quickly, too. It wasn’t long before he told you all about his parents’ deaths and unstable upbringing. You told him about your turbulent relationship with your family. You’d commiserated over feelings of worthlessness, abandonment, and isolation. And when the ice cream ran low, you’d both hop in your car and argue in whispered shouts over which flavor to get at the grocery store.
Leon was, for all intents and purposes, your best friend. And you were his.
In you, he’d found a confidant. In you, he’d found someone who listened and cared and never failed to make him feel seen. In you, he’d found someone who could make him laugh. God, it felt so fucking good to laugh this consistently. It’s therefore safe to say that he’s smitten — that he’s been smitten since he first met you at Claire’s birthday—but he’d never act on it, not unless he was certain you felt same, even if it kills him.
And it does kill him.
It kills him to see you date other guys. It kills him to see you go through breakups. Most of all, it kills him to see your light dim whenever you’re made to doubt yourself. To Leon, you’re radiant. You’re brilliant and bright, a sparkling star in an otherwise blackened night. You gleam when you smile, you twinkle when you laugh. You hung the moon, as far as he’s concerned. He doesn’t understand how you could think any differently.
But you do. Not frequently, but life gets to you sometimes.
Tonight is one of those times.
It’s Friday. Leon is laying down with his foot propped on the back of your shared velvet couch, nursing a glass of whiskey and reading the last few chapters of his book when he hears you barge through the door. It closes with a slam. He sits up abruptly, nearly spilling the amber liquid all over his white t-shirt, as you pad down the hall.
“Hey,” you huff, plopping down beside him and snatching the glass out of his hand. You down its contents without pretense, gagging as it burns your throat. Leon’s brows knit together in concern as he takes the glass from your hands. He gently lowers it onto the glass coffee table. You hand him a coaster without looking at him. He stifles a chuckle, and slides it under the glass. Your nose is rubbed raw, he realizes. Your eyes are bloodshot. You’d been crying for a while.
“What the fuck is wrong with me,” you whisper.
“There’s nothing wrong with you,” he mumbles, rubbing soothing circles on your back.
“No, there has to be something wrong with me, Leon,” you insist, pressing the heels of your palm into your eyes. Static dances behind your lids. You wish it would swallow you whole, wish yourself to be consumed by numbness rather than whatever this fucking feeling is. “This is the fourth fucking time,” you sob, “the fourth fucking time this month I’ve all but been told I’m worthless.”
“What’re you talking about?”
You take a shuddering sigh before slouching into the couch cushions, palms still pressed to your lids. “My coworkers spoke over every fucking idea I had at our sprint this morning. Then my mom brought up my ex again, and said he would’ve proposed if I’d been more agreeable — can you believe that?”
Your ex-boyfriend. The one you’d expected to propose. Still a sore spot, but not for the reasons one would expect — you aren’t in love with him anymore, you don’t spare him a second thought most months. You hate his guts; Leon hates him, too. The fact that your mother was still bringing him up years after the fact is cruel, though expected at this point. Doesn’t make it any less hurtful, though, Leon knows that.
“I can, unfortunately,” he commiserates, slumping down beside you. “Your mom’s a bitch.”
“God, she really fucking is,” you groan loudly. “And to make matters worse,” you continue, flipping onto your side to better face him, “remember that guy I went out with two nights ago?”
Leon crinkles his nose, “V-Neck?”
“Yeah, he told me I was a ‘waste of time’ and ‘boring’ because I didn’t like Fight Club.”
“Let me guess, Tyler Durden—“
“—is his favorite character,” you finish with an exasperated cry. Leon can’t help but laugh at that. The guy was a tool; Leon clocked it as soon as he showed up in jeans and a v-neck to pick you up for your date.
You start to cry again. “God, Leon, I’m so sick of this shit. I’m so sick of feeling like this.”
“Like what?”
“Like I’m fundamentally broken. Like everyone would like me better if I weren’t me. Because when I was with my ex, I was… nothing. I was nothing. I laughed when I didn’t think he was funny. I pretended to like football, I pretended to like the gold fucking jewelry he gave me even though I never wear anything but platinum! It felt like I was giving away parts of myself every time I lied just to appease him.”
You pause to catch your breath.. “And I get spoken over all the time at work. I’m exhausted. I feel like it’s wrong for me to take up space and I feel like all of my opinions are wrong and God, I just wish I weren’t me anymore.” You’re practically shouting now, rivulets of tears streaming down your face and soaking your plush sweater.
“God,” you whisper. You cover your eyes with your forearms. Leon doesn’t quite know what to say, so he remains quiet. The room is filled with the sound of your sobs.
He inhales through his nose then mutters, “I think you’re perfect.”
“What?” you croak.
“Nothing,” he sighs. He didn’t realize he’d said that aloud.
You wipe your eyes with the sleeves of your sweater. “No,” you say, “What did you say?”
Leon sucks on his teeth before answering. He wrings his hands before repeating, “I think you’re perfect.”
“No you don’t,” you scoff.
“I do, actually. And I think you deserve way more than these asshole guys you choose to date can give you. And I think your mom’s a bitch who needs to forget about your ex because that guy was a fucking asshole who took you for granted, too. And your coworkers hardly have a braincell to share between them, so I wouldn’t take what they say to heart in the slightest.”
You’re stunned by his outburst, by the reddening of his cheeks and clenched jaw. “Leon—“
“I’m not finished,” he huffs, sitting up and turning to face you. “I’m… Look, I’m sorry, but I’m so sick of hearing about people treating you like shit. I’m so sick of you coming home in tears and I’m so sick of listening to your insecurities.”
“Well, I’m sorry I’m such a goddamn burden to you, Leon—“
“No—shit—that’s not what I meant,” he clarifies, taking your hands in his. “I don’t mean that I hate listening to you or talking you through it. I mean that…”
“You mean that what?”
“I mean that I just…. wish you could see yourself the way I see you,” he whispers.
You swallow thickly before asking, “How do you see me, Leon?”
Leon looks up to the ceiling now, a mirthless smile on his face. He thought about how it would feel to confess his feelings to you, but never about how he would actually do it. He’d resolved to take them to his grave, actually. You meant too much to him; he couldn’t lose you. But Leon has said so much already, and there’s really no going back at this point, is there?
“Like you’re the most incredible person I’ve ever fucking met, sweetheart, and I don’t just mean that in a platonic sense.”
A breath catches in your throat. Your stomach drops, your lungs feel like they’re collapsing in your chest. Leon licks his lips before continuing, “You’re… so fucking brilliant, you know that? You’re intelligent and kind and thoughtful and god, you’re so fucking pretty it makes it hard for me to breathe sometimes.”
Tears well in your eyes again. A sob threatens to rack your chest but you suppress it only to hear him continue.
“And to make matters worse, you’re a terrific fucking listener. You care and love more deeply than anyone. You make everyone feel seen. You just… “ he stops only to consider his next few words. With an exhale and a watery smile, he finishes: “You deserve someone who worships the ground you walk on, and doesn’t let a day go by without reminding you how loved you are.”
He runs his fingers through his hair, breathless and nauseous and uncertain if the pain in his chest is a burgeoning heart attack or deep-seated panic bubbling to the surface. Leon wonders if you’d judge him for throwing up right now. It would certainly ruin his chances with you permanently, not that he had one to begin with.
But then he feels your hand cradle his cheek. And he feels you turn his face toward yours. And he feels your lips — soft, plush, tasting vaguely of the cherry chapstick you’d let him borrow whenever he needed it — on his.
Leon freezes, unsure how to respond. Does he kiss you back? Are you drunk and that’s why you’re kissing him? You’re clearly vulnerable — maybe it’s that.
You press your forehead to his after pulling away. “S-sorry,” you stammer, “I just— I’m— that was—“
“N-no, it’s okay—“
“I’m so—“ you interrupt yourself by kissing him again. Leon reciprocates this time, though he does so with some hesitation. His hand cups the back of your head; you take it as a sign to lean further into him, to take handfuls of his shirt and pull you to him. When you break away, the sky parts and you’re awash with a sense of clarity.
“Leon,” you sigh, “Leon, do you really mean all of that?”
“Every fucking word,” he breathes.
“You’re not just saying that because you’ve been drinking whiskey and you think I’m sad and vulnerable and want to take advantage of me?”
He barks out a laugh. “No, I’m not and that glass that you finished was actually my first.”
“And by saying all of this, are you saying you’re willing to be that person?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay,” you whisper.
“Okay,” he chuckles, holding the hand tangled in his t-shirt. You release your grip with a chuckle of your own before looking away bashfully. He gently strokes his thumb over the back of your hand.
You look down at your feet; he looks down at your feet, too. “So,” you say after a while, “you think you can fuck better than they can, too?”
Leon tosses his head back and laughs heartily. You can’t help but laugh, too, loving the timbre of his joy. He stands, and offers you a hand. You take it with a giggle, standing to your full height to meet him. With a wolfish grin, Leon throws you over his shoulder. You shriek with delight at the suddenness of the gesture, but don’t fight as he carries you to your bedroom and drops you onto your plush queen-sized bed.
He’s on you within seconds, dazzling white smile plastered on his golden skin as he kisses you. You smile as you kiss him, too. There’s something tender about the way Leon kisses you, like you’ll break under his touch. It’s different, you think, brand new. Gentle. Sweet. Caring. Even as his hands snake up your sweater to settle along your waist.
You gasp as his calloused fingers rub loose circles along your ribcage. He trails kisses along your jaw and down the column of you throat, pausing only to suck at your pulse point and collarbone. You grab fistfuls of his shirt and move to tug it over his head. His belt is next. Then your sweater.  And before long, you’re pressed flushed against him and savoring the warmth of his skin.
“God, you really are so fucking beautiful,” he whispers in your ears, voice low and gravelly with lust. You arch into him again, begging that he resume his kisses along your neck. He obliges —of course he obliges— and when he reaches your breasts, he looks up at you through thick lashes.
It takes you a second to realize that he’s waiting for your consent to continue. Tears well in your eyes once more, both at the revelation that no one had ever been considerate enough to pause and ask for something as simple as this and that he did so without prompting. You give him an enthusiastic nod. He smiles and presses a genial kiss on your breastbone in thanks before taking a pert nipple into his mouth.
You mewl at the sensation of his tongue lapping loving circles around your nipples, at the feel of his hand cupping your other breast and rolling its peak between his index and thumbs. His name slips from your mouth; he moans in response.
“Shit, baby, say my name again,” he rasps.
“Leon,” you keen as he sucks at your breast. He groans again, shutting his eyes as he savors the cadence with which you mutter his name.
He’s desperate to hear it again, to hear it screamed in ecstasy, to hear it whispered lowly in his ear. Anything. He just needs you.
He trails kisses down your torso. You move sinuously beneath him, eagerly anticipating the featherlight kisses he places on your hip bones. On your inner thighs. On your dripping cunt. You spread your legs for him; an invitation of the sweetest kind. You knot your fingers in his hair as he begins his ministrations, his tongue lapping at your pussy from entrance to apex. He lingers along your clit, drawing lazy concentric circles around it until you’re brimming with desire.
“Please, Leon,” you beg, “more.”
His chuckle is low and dark. It reverberates through your core, heating and cooling the coil tightening painfully within your lower abdomen.
“I’ve been waiting a long time for this, sweetheart. Let me take my time.”
You arch into him, eyes wide with disbelief. “A l-long time?”
Leon gives you an affirmative hum. You whimper as his fingertips dig into your thighs, as he drags you closer to his mouth with calloused hands. “A long fucking time,” he emphasizes before burying his face into your cunt.
You moan at the feel of his lips, his nose, his tongue licking and sucking and savoring the ichor between your legs. He alternates between the flat and tip of his tongue. He nips at your clit. He gently prods your core with his tongue before slipping inside and coaxing forth a shattering, breathtaking orgasm.
He holds you tightly in place, devouring you so wholly through and past your climax. It’s overwhelming, asphyxiating, beautiful and damned and in your fractured consciousness, you wonder why you didn’t succumb to these desires sooner.
It’d be dishonest to deny your initial and longstanding attraction to Leon Kennedy. You’d withheld your curiosity as a matter of self-preservation — you can’t lose another friend to sex, you can’t lose another living arrangement. But that didn’t stop you from fantasizing about it at night. And in the morning. And whenever he’d walk around your shared apartment shirtless or in his gray sweatpants or when he held you when you cried.
Stupid, you think now, stupid, stupid, stupid.
Your own hands don’t even come close to comparing to the feel of him. At this point, you’re certain there’s no going back, either. You need more. You need more now or you’ll go insane.
“Leon, please.”
He rises to his knees, pink tongue swiping across his plush lips to consume as much of you as possible. His hands, so large and strong, rub the tops of your thighs. “Please what?”
“Fuck me. Now.”
He clenches his jaw in frustration. He so desperately wants to keep you like this, wants to take his time, wants to bring you to orgasm with his tongue and fingers at least thrice more before he allows himself to fuck you properly, but he can’t. He knows he can’t, not when you look like this: skin feverish, pupils blown wide, fingers knotted tightly in bedsheets as a means to keep yourself tethered.
“Condom?”
“Top drawer,” you choke out, gesturing to the nightstand to your left.
He scrambles to extract one from the back most corner of the drawer, and tears into the aluminum packaging with his teeth. You sit up, hands greedily tugging at the waistband of his boxer briefs, and take his hardened cock in your hands.
A delicious, gravelly moan slips through his lips as you stroke him from base to tip. Your ministrations are slow, painstaking, and Leon’s finding it harder and harder to keep his resolve. His hand reaches for your throat. It startles you at first, but your eyes roll back as he tightens his grip ever so slightly.
“How do you want it?” He asks
Your response comes out airy, breathless, needy: “I don’t fucking care.”
“On your back then.”
And you oblige, but not before wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him down on top of you. He smells of cloves and ginger, all warmth and spice, and it’s so intoxicating you wrap your legs around his torso to pull him closer, closer, closer.
He litters your neck with wet kisses, leaving light bruises in his wake. You’d mind if you didn’t have all weekend to help them heal. You’d mind if this weren’t the first time in a while that you’ve felt yourself grow so slick with need that you’re surely dampening the plush covers adorning your bed. You’d mind if they weren’t coming from him.
From his eager mouth.
From his generous tongue.
From his fevered kisses.
You angle your neck to grant him further access; he accepts it with genuine appreciation.
You whine as his kisses slow, as he takes his time peppering the column of your neck, your décolletage, your breasts. And you’re so preoccupied with the way he sets your skin ablaze that the feel of his cock penetrating your core takes you by sweet surprise.
He smiles into his next series of kisses, grows harder as you arch into him and dig your fingernails into his back. He allows you to adjust to his size before moving.
“God, you’re so fucking tight,” he rasps in your ear. It sends ripples of want through your system. “So fucking tight, sweetheart.”
“Leon,” you whine again, gyrating in desperation for release.
Stars flit across your vision as he adopts a rhythmic pace. He’s slow at first, soft as you acclimate, but as soon as your teeth sink into the flushed skin of his shoulder and he recognizes the hunger in your eyes, he smirks.
“I won’t hold back, you know,” he teases.
“I don’t want you to.”
“Better fucking hold on then.”
You open your mouth, snarky retort on the tip of your tongue, but a lascivious moan takes its places as Leon’s hips slam into yours. His pace is bruising, rapid, and deep. The tip of his cock kisses your cervix, triggering white spots to bleed into your vision. You close your eyes, you toss your head back into the pillow, you claw at him for purchase. When you exalt his name, it comes out stuttered, choked, garbled behind a stream of curses and erotic sighs.
He presses his forehead to yours. Your lips manage to find his even through your euphoric fog. It’s difficult to maintain with the way he fucks you, so he cradles your cheek with one hand to keep you steady.
“You’re so fucking perfect, baby,” he mumbles into your lips, “so fucking beautiful.”
You bite his lip; he slips his tongue into your mouth. You taste his whiskey again, bitter and smokey, and moan as the tip of his cock pressurizes your g-spot. You’re close to coming undone, close to bathing in rapture, and you can’t help but feel disappointed for succumbing so soon —you wish you could stay like this forever.
Thought that disappointment quickly dissipates as your orgasm snaps. You’re engulfed in waves of pleasure so sinful, so profoundly exhilarating. You cum with his name on your lips, and in ecstasy, it evolves into something deeper. An exaltation. A sacred prayer. An incantation summoning forth years of denied attraction. A testament to his patience.
You come undone before him, vulnerable and raw, and he kisses you again because he’s so grateful that you’ve allowed him to see you like this. Keeping his eyes open as he approaches his own climax is challenging, but ultimately worthwhile because he swears he’s never seen anything—anyone—so beautifully and perfectly crafted for him in his life.
“Fuck, sweetheart, I’m—“
“Cum for me, Leon. Cum inside me.”
And now it’s your name that’s ripped from his throat, your name interlaced with prayers and enveloped in the sanctity of his climax. You wrap your legs more tightly around his torso, bringing him closer still. His head drops, forehead meeting yours, as he comes to.
It takes you both a minute or so to catch your breaths. You pant into each other, remain tangled in your sheets as you bask in the aftermath.
You expect shame to blossom in your chest. You expect regret, too, but neither come. Instead, you’re filled with a sense of belonging that is only further reinforced when you look into his irises. You dive headfirst into crystalline pools, so warm and inviting, and recognize that it should always feel like this.
“You okay?” He asks between breaths.
“Extraordinary,” you pant, “you?”
“Never been better.”
He presses his forehead to yours, a delightful chuckle racking his chest. It’s hard not to laugh, too, hard not to pull him into a tighter hug. You’d hugged a million times before—he’s always been quite liberal with his affections—and a small piece of you always wondered what it would be like to do so in this capacity. It is, of course, better than anything you could have possibly imagined.
You grab his face, and pull him into a soft, loving kiss. It’s deep this time, sweet and passionate and above all else, familiar. He scoops you into his lap after he pulls out. He kisses your head, your cheeks, your lips. He holds you, rubs soothing circles along your thighs, whispers sweet nothings in your ear.
“So,” Leon asks after a while, “verdict? Better than those other guys?”
“So much fucking better, unfortunately.”
Leon looks down at your quizzically, “Why unfortunately?”
“Because I actually am looking for something serious now.”
“So am I,” he blurts out.
You lean back to get a better look at his face then purse your lips and ask, “Are you a clean person?”
“Obsessively so,” he quotes, beaming at the memory of the night he first met you.
“And you’re not the ‘I can fix her’ type?”
Leon laughs again, “Still not much of a handyman, really.”
“Are you a serial killer,” you ask between kisses, “or sexual deviant?”
“No and only if you’re into that.”
You wrap a gentle hand around the nape of his neck, and bring his lips down to yours. After a dizzying, passionate kiss, you press your forehead to his and ask, “Where do I sign up?”
And Leon realizes that he may not be so bad with words after all.

kylian relationship headcanon?
Tumblr media
can i come over ? ────── just another episode of tenderness.
♡ ────── pairing : kylian mbappé x reader ♡ ────── tags : reader's gender, ethnicity, nationality, and appearance is not specified. ♡ ────── wordcount : 667 ♡ ────── notes : posting this one as a good luck token for the france vs netherlands game!! ily kylian. i try to not just write the happy parts of the relationship but also the hurdles you two might face? i might do more of these since i've got some ideas still :^) (quick disclaimer: since these are headcanons of real people, i'd like to emphasize that if you do not agree with any of the things i write, please kindly click off the post). title is from cool dry place by katy kirby ♡ masterlist.
Kylian Mbappé. Every single person on the Earth knows his name. But you especially—how could you not? When he doesn’t have his eyes on a football game, or his legs on a football field, he has them on you.
Hand on your knee at every single group dinner, behind your neck at every hangout with friends; his skin is always in contact with yours at every single second.
Touchy does not even begin to describe him.
If it were up to him, he would drag you to the changing room and have you sit between his legs—but no, it is not up to him.
Well, mostly because he doesn’t want to be the one that brings the elephant into the room, but also it is so bad that other people are beginning to think of you as a nuisance.
“Mbappé can’t keep his hands off his partner,” a tabloid once wrote, and it only took a few quote retweets from some Parc des Princes employees, heavily agreeing, for it to go viral.
“Sorry,” you once said to a manager, then to a janitor, then to a teammate, Kylian trailing quietly behind you, arms around your waist.
And he gets sooo whiny if you push him away—what’s worse than losing a match? His dramatic ass would say that it’s having you steer away from his touches!

“Kylian,” you whine on the couch, pushing his face away as he tries to kiss you for the hundredth time that hour. “Please, I’m trying to watch a film here.”
“Mhm,” He pouts, arms around your back, hoping that you’d look at him. He looks at you, his chin on your chest before sighing. “You hate me right? Be honest.”
“Please,” you say again, eyes never leaving the television, “you can kiss me all you want the moment the movie ends.”
Tumblr media
He tends to avoid. You’ve known him for so long, and you are at the point where you would almost forgive him for the amount of issues that have simmered too long in both of your discontent.
But you don’t do that. No. You see forever with this man, right? So you sit him down and talk.
You’ve got to admit that Kylian has gotten so, so much better in recent years.
He used to flee at every problem—it’s not that he has trouble expressing his emotions, it’s that he has trouble being vulnerable.
Tumblr media
“You’re doing this again,” you roll your eyes, arms crossed over your chest. Kylian won’t look you in the eyes. “I’m sick of this.”
“Come on,” Kylian tries reaching a hand over the table to you—well, if he’s going to ignore you, you sure as hell are going to ignore him too. “Look at me, we don’t have to talk about this right now.”
“Right,” you huff out, letting out a sarcastic laugh, “so when are we going to talk about this.”
Kylian stays quiet.
Tumblr media
Kylian likes luxurious things; and he likes you. The same thing, really, in his eyes. A priceless watch and your priceless kiss—this is the kind of luxury a man like him can only dream of.
He goes all the way for his show of love, of course! He customises everything he owns with your initials.
Once, he somehow left his passport in the airport, and what got people into talking was not his passport, but your initials embroidered on its leather cover.
The strap of his duffel bag is changed into a shade of your favourite colour, your initials and his sewn together under it—it does not stop there! A gold plated lapel pin with your name on it becomes a staple on every single suit he wears; socks with your initials when cuffed; matching bracelets he only takes off before practice and matches.
He makes sure the camera flashing on his face gets it: he’d pose in a certain angle, throw his scarf over his shoulders in a certain way.
Even when you’re not there, he still loves showing you off!

I think the most notable bit of character insight on Yoo Joonghyuk that Yoo Mia SS provides is how much the apocalypse did not change him at all.
It's one of those Big Themes orv has, and simply brilliant writing. Y'know how they kept beating us over the head with the concept of 'the people who find it easiest to adapt in a ruined world are those who could not adapt to real life?'. That applies to YJH too, and even more than other characters. But it's hard to notice on a casual main story read because genre conventions and his character archetype tell us not to look deeper, that he is just a basic brooding power fantasy manhwa protagonist, even when he's really not.
So the audience writes off his quirks because it's expected of his brooding hero archetype and the other apocalypse survivors write off his quirks because everyone who has gotten this far is a little nuts and also they have bigger problems.
But when Yoo Joonghyuk acts exactly like he does during the apocalypse in a pre-scenario world where there's no convienient explanation it's really clear that he is different and he just comes off as...off.
His silence during conversations is no longer mysterious and cool but just weird and a failure to read social cues. His 'glare' is frightening and people don't like when he makes eye contact with them. His manner of speech is off-putting. His blank emotionless face is not stoic repressed hero-esque but ""rude"" etc etc. Every single mainstream society conforming person can tell there's something off about him so they avoid him. And YJH doesn't know how to communicate so he ends up totally friendless (save for a literal mafia boss and a crazy time-traveling teenage girl - and only them, because they don't fit well into society either.)
Umm where was I. So, but I don't know how much effect all of that has on World of Zero. Firstly, because between Yoo Mia side story and World of Zero there are 3-4 years of '?????' where afaik we have no idea what Yoo Joonghyuk was doing. He stopped being a gamer at some point but also got rich at the same time (doing what?) and bought the house he daydreamed about and also became a total shut-in who 'doesn't go outside often'. I have fanfic-y theories but nothing canon.
Onto the second part of the ask.
With World of Zero era joongdok I feel like there's a lot of writers out there who have made their own versions that are better than anything I could come up with so I hope you wont be disapointed. That being said I do have some thoughts.
Speaking of fanfic, here is mine under read more lol.
I think it's super that Kim Dokja gains the power of an omnipotent god and the very first thing he does is devote his time to Yoo Joonghyuk's happiness and safety. The whole reason he became OD was because of his massive guilt complex about YJH, so it makes sense that he would try to atone.
Zero starts off mistrusting him but gradually KDJ proves himself as having Zero's best interests at heart 100% of the time. DKOS is YJH's guardian angel. And then KDJ stays watching over him even after the scenarios were over, seeing him go through boring life milestones, happy as long as YJH is happy, for seemingly no reason.
So it's no wonder Yoo Jooghyuk fell in love.
He might not know Salvation's real name or appearance or anything about him but he wants to get to know him, this person who has saved him so many times while asking nothing in return. It doesn't matter that he's a constellation because he is good, Yoo Joonghyuk knows. He confesses all of this to Salvation, looking up at the sky with eyes sparkling with life and passion.
Salvation lets him down gently, for what it's worth, but rejection is still rejection and it hurts.
In the following weeks, as he goes through the motions and pretends nothing happened, he continues to feel the gaze of Salvation on his back, but the constellation stays mercifully silent. Yoo Joonghyuk does not want to know if it's pity he's looking at him with. Even heartbreak heals, of course. Months pass, then years. Lee Seolhwa was a dependable companion to him during the scenarios and stays a steadying presence in the world after. They're compatable. She is someone with who he could see himself growing old.
Salvation told him to 'be free, to fall in love with someone who could be with him, to not waste his time chasing after a dream, to live his life to the fullest'
He knows about his attribute of course, just like he knows everything about Yoo Joonghyuk.
Yoo Joonghyuk sees no point in lying. He tells Lee Seolhwa everything. How due to his attribute he will grown old and die while the rest of them stay youthful as ever, how he doesn't remember his childhood or know his parents. His hopes and dreams, how he yearns to learn his origins. About the first scenario, about the constellation who would have been his sponsor, whom he loves.
Then he asks to marry her. She says yes.
Salvation is the first person Yoo Joonghyuk tells. He's happy for him, of course, says he always knew there was a spark between them.
They live a long 50 years together.
When Yoo Joonghyuk's hair started turning more salt than pepper, he told Lee Seolhwa that he wouldn't hold her. She laughed, stroked his head and said that she might not look it but she is two years older than him, that she vowed to be by his side till death did them apart and she will not break that promise.
When his time comes and he knows he has to leave, he tries to explain himself to Lee Seolhwa at least, if not the rest of his old companions. But he needn't have bothered. Before he could start, she took his hands in hers and smiled wistfully. She told him she always knew this day would come. That his heart has always belonged to someone else. She's thankful for the time he has given her anyway and that she could not have asked for a better husband. She sheads a few tears and Yoo Joonghyuk does too, but he leaves their house with a sense of purpose and a lightness in his heart he has not felt once since the day he beat the final scenario.
And then he accepts the sponsorship contract with Salvation.
... .. Sooo, that's how I think round zero went.

Good Trade
"That was someone's passport!" Shouted Nate, storming into his room, his breath ragged from impotent rage.
"Saah, calm." Urged the fik as he stepped into the human's quarters. A clawed hand found Nate's shoulder and gently drew him into the furred chest of the fik warrior. The human was shaking, adrenaline and anger still pumping through his chest to the point he could feel his heart shuddering, skipping beats.
"Saaaaah..." Murmured the warrior. The fik, Yiktar, was not a medically inclined fik, nor was he a negotiator. He was a warrior, his specialty was causing vicious injuries and threatening uncooperative folk those injuries if they didn't comply with the demands of the clan.
The pair of them had just returned from a trader vessel, one that had taken one look at Nate and produced a tiny booklet with a crest on the front. Inside, a small picture of an unknown human stared back from the protected page.
The trader had immediately demanded a ridiculous price or a trade of more human memorabilia for the booklet.
Nate had to leave, his chest had gotten tight and he'd started to feel lightheaded.
Yiktar ushered the young man to his bed; a giant thing that was more for one or two of the fiks to curl up with Nate in the bed as well than a piece of furniture just for him .
"Hai, breathe Nate, yes?"
Nate nodded and breathed in through his nose, held it, then slowly let it out. He was already calming down, distressed as he was from seeing something so important, relegated to the breast pocket of an ursidain blood sucker.
Nate had to remain calm. His heart just wasn't strong enough to handle prolonged bouts of stress. If it skipped too many beats, then he'd be in even more trouble than just being upset about a passport.
"Saaah, there... Is good. Yes?"
"Yeah, yeah I'm okay Yik. I'm sorry for-"
"Hai! No. No sorry. Nate do nothing, Nate react... normal. Yes? Yes." Yiktar stated, asking himself a question and answering it just as well. Nate merely smiled and a single chuckle worked its way free of his chest.
"Why do you do that?" Asked Nate, smiling up at the fik, despite him crouching at the edge of the bed.
"What? Do what?" The older bipedal rat asked, his nose and whiskers twitching in genuine curiosity.
"Ask yourself a question and answer it?" Pointed out the human, feeling much better already.
"Sah! Simple. If one wants good conversation. One must look for intelligent ones for conversation. Yiktar need not look far, only as far as reflection." Yiktar explained, as if explaining something simple or obvious. Nate couldn't help but laugh, grinning up at the grizzled warrior who merely took on a look of mock hurt.
"Sah! Betrayer! Wounder!" Accused Yiktar with a wide grin, pleased with the fik's ability to distract the fragile human.
That distraction was short lived as the human's quarters opened to let in the clan ermin, a small army obviously filling the corridor outside, hushing one another to allow the ermin to talk.
"Sah, may I enter, young Nate?" Asked the white furred fik, leaning on a staff that she didn't quite need yet.
"Of course, you never need to ask Seer." Replied the human, who had the urge to shuffle off the bed, but the ermin, seemingly knowing what he wanted to do, gestured for him to stay sat down. She crossed the room with ease, sidestepping the coffee table despite having no eyes. Both having been replaced with nasty looking scar tissue years before Nate appeared.
"The clan has something that they wish to return to you." Rumbled the seer, before raising a hand and showing a small booklet, pinched between her claws.
"The passport? How could you-" But Nate's words died on his lips. The crest on the front of the passport, previously gold, was partially covered in red.
The ermin twitched, turned the booklet over, as if observing it, despite the impossibility.
"Ah, saaaah! A mistake, but minor." She mumbled, before wiping the booklet against her own fur. The pure white, went bright red immediately. But as she handed the passport over, it was now clean and no evidence of what had marred it remained. The ermin nodded.
"Back with its rightful owner." She rumbled again, before turning away.
"Not quite, wise one." Nate retorted. "I need to find its owner."
The ermin grimaced, and only turned her head, keeping her back to Nate.
"Saaah... An impossible task. Hai, but not for lack of intent. You would be wiser to honour the former owner, and protect it now. Whether by your hand... Saaah... or one you trust."
Nate flipped the booklet open.
"Joshua Embleton. He's dead, isn't he?"
The clan, still just outside, were perfectly silent. Yiktar, had his head bowed and had been still since the ermin approached. Only the human dare ask such a direct question of the clan ermin. She merely nodded once, before leaving, the clan parting for her like smoke.
The door closed and Nate was alone with Yiktar again. The fik rested a clawed hand against the human's knee and gave it a soft squeeze. The human frowned.
"What happened to the trader?"
"Sah, what trader?" Yiktar asked innocently with a blood thirsty grin.

ahh nervous to post this (first time writing for him!) but excited about this gorgeous moodboard I recieved for Summer Lovin’ 24! 🏕️💖 thanks so much for hosting @pedgito, @amanitacowboy, and @chaotic-mystery!
Tumblr media
Dieter really can talk you into anything.
The official table read is on Monday, scenes due to start shooting soon after. You really shouldn’t be thirty miles out of town right now - leaving the comforts of your apartment and the air conditioning of the limo, to hike another mile into the forest.
But you’ll trade the luxury for a chance to spend time with him. An old spot, he said. His dad’s cousin’s place, bought it off him when they needed the money. Been in the family for years.
“You gotta immerse yourself,” Dieter had told you, his arms spreading wide, “What better place to practice lines than here?”
It’s your first time in a movie with him. You’re not sure if he’s really a method actor. Equally not sure that it’s needed for a movie called Campground Carnage II - or if the city just seemed a little too loud, a little too busy.
Deep down, you hope it might just be an excuse to get you alone.
You'd be pretty alright with that.
It’s been hard to sneak around Los Angeles. There’s cameras everywhere. An obsession with one Dieter Bravo - the current hottest, most eccentric star.
You’d met before his last big break. Reading lines for Covert Affairs, but they had passed over the mutual chemistry for an actress with a little more weight to her name.
He had gotten the part, and you had gotten his number. Two desperate hookups when you both ended up in Vegas at the same time.
Only to come back together a year later.
“Long Island,” He had smiled, when he saw you, “Good to see you again.”
You had been surprised he remembered you, much less the drink he had bought. Enough alcohol in both your systems that you would’ve forgiven him if he had.
Not that you would have, though. Not with that mouth of his.
Something that you’re thinking about now, as the trees clear. The cabin tucked between them - a peeking sliver of a river cutting through the terrain behind it.
A cozy little thing, not much bigger than the apartment you’re missing. Built with thick wooden logs, two tidy windows out front, the checkered curtain pulled shut.
The key ring twirls on his finger, as Dieter moves ahead to unlock the door.
You can’t help appreciating the view, as he does. This ‘camping’ look suits him. It’s almost enough to make you a little jealous of his ability to look good in anything and everything he throws on.
A tight black tee, the hat that’s pulled down over his messy curls. Featuring an embroidered trout, with “fish want me, women fear me” scripted above and below that he found at a garage sale. Patterned crocs with matching shorts that only reach mid-thigh.
And you're at least 45-percent sure the fanny pack around his waist is filled with condoms and KitKats.
It’s been hard to keep your mind off him, on the drive over. Battering his wandering hands away, with the driver only a few feet from you. Still shy, both enthralled and not used to his open affection.
Trying to concentrate on the script. Preparing to run lines, just in case his suggestion for this weekend wasn’t some kind of euphemism.
But you kept going back to a particular scene. The two counselors - that’s you and him - sneaking off to one of the cabins in the campground.
A steamy encounter involving both the top and bottom of a bunk bed, and a lot of Bravo on his knees. Anything to showcase his physique, you’re already picturing how they’ll stage it with the female gaze in mind.
Bare back, you’re guessing. A hint of ass, but still tasteful.
The scene a fake-out - featuring a jump scare, with the shadow of a person passing by the windows behind you. Tapping into that classic trope - first to fuck, first to die.
Which might be true - if it was his first movie.
He doesn’t actually make it to the end, though. Dieter’s demise coming from a staged accident in the fishing lake, just as the movie lulls into a sense of safely. One final blow before the big reveal.
You know people will be pissed about that. As a fan of the series, even you are a little.
But the thought of having a scene with him - there is a flicker of excitement, that dulled heat in your belly - even though you know that logically, it will all be purely professional.
It’s still fun to imagine.
The door cracks open, but there’s something else with the sound. You frown, your head whipping towards the woods behind you. Searching for the source of the noise, one that sounded a little too familiar.
“Did I just hear a camera click?”
“Nah,” Dieter shrugs, “There’s no way they know about this place.”
"Yeah,” You hum, giving another glance. There’s nothing but the rustle of trees, the rush of the water. A self-conscious laugh, as you head inside, “Maybe I’m immersing myself too much.”
“No hauntings or serial killers here, sweetheart.” He smiles, “But if you’re scared I have a few ideas to get your mind off things…”
The door clicks shut behind him.
Your eyebrow arches, “Oh yeah? Like what?”
Dieter pretends to think, as he advances on you. Hands reaching out to trace up your sides, pulling you flush against him.
“Can think of a scene I’d like to start with,” He husks, eyes darkening, “There’s no bunk bed here, but I think we can make do.
Hunger flares in you, now that you're alone. Your eyes dip to the curl of his mouth, no more than a breath before you’re pressing your lips to his. A rough moan as his hands slide up your back, his tongue already brushing across your lower lip.
Tasting sweet when they part for him, your own moan swallowed as you lose your grip on your bag, letting it tumble to the floor.
It’s always so easy to get lost in him. If you’re not careful, you might just get swept away.
“You don’t want to see what the directors have in mind?” You tease, when you pull back for a breath, “Hold off on that scene until later?”
“No can do.” Dieter groans, as he pulls you back to him, “Not with you looking like this.”
You can’t help the smile, as you start the stumbling journey through the main room, wandering hands and the press of mouths.
His hand grasping your ass as your fingers slip under his shirt - the other reaching for the door he has you backed up against. A creaking swing, as it opens.
Dieter’s hands are at your hips, as soon as the back of your knees hit the bed.
“Let me taste you, baby.” It’s mumbled against your lips. His fingers dipping beneath your waistband. A nail tracing the edge of your underwear, raising goosebumps, “Been thinking about it all day.”
You remember this from before. How focused he gets. Willing to beg, shameless, if there’s something he wants.
And you’re always willing to give.
The bed is soft - covered in worn buffalo-checkered sheets - as you let yourself be lowered onto it. His hands catch your ankles, tugging you down until your legs drape off the edge.
Spread wide, so he can fit between them as he kneels. Batting your hand away as you go to push down your shorts.
“I wanna do it.” He hums. His own shorts already pulled tight, a hand coming to palm himself in anticipation.
Your hips lift for him. Nails bite into skin, grasping fabric and pulling down both layers. Easing them around the bulk of your gym shoes so his palms can press into your thighs, spreading them even wider.
A rough noise, when he sees you.
“You been thinking about this too, babe?” He coos, a thumb pressing against your slit. Rolling against the wet gleam of your center, as it betrays your desire.
You huff, the muscles in your legs flexing. Breath held as your eyes flit up to his, waiting. Watching, as he sucks your slick from his skin with a groan.
“Bet you were. Saw you eye-fucking me in the limo, all while telling me to keep my hands to myself.”
"I-I," You try to answer. To protest - to say you weren't - but his palms are smoothing up your skins. Distracting, as he slowly moves.
Those eyes focused on yours as his head tips. An open-mouthed kiss to your knee, then thigh. Moving up, as your heart races.
Inner thigh, now.
"Dee," There's a buck of your hips, with your whine, “Don’t tease.”
It’s futile, you’re certain. Unable to take what you dish out. But perhaps he’s been pushed too far as well.
“Tell me you need it.” His pupils are blown-wide, drunken already.
It’s easy to answer.
“Please. I need you.”
The next kiss is right against your slit. Messy, as his mouth covers you. Your fingers twisting in the blanket, as your knees press against his shoulders.
He’s too good. Teasing with the wet brush of his tongue. The slow creep of his fingers, the tip of one pressing against your entrance - only to withdraw just as you clench down.
Again, and then again. Slowly sinking into you, one knuckle at a time. Working you open, until you’re stretched wide around three of them - too full to form words.
“Don’t need direction for this,” His eyes flip to yours, a dimpled smile as his fingers sink deep and then curl, “Do I, baby?”
He does it again, as your answer pitches high. Your hips bucking into his touch as his tongue licks at you again. Timing it so that the point of his tongue teases your clit, each time his fingers rub against the spongey spot inside you.
He’s going to make you come. You’re too wound up, too needy for him.
“Fuck, Dieter.” You keen - your leg hooking over his shoulder, “Oh fuck, keep doing that-“
“That’s it baby,” He grins, “Improvise for me.”
It makes you laugh, which has him groaning as you tighten around his fingers. His left hand dropping to push down the waistband of his shorts. Fingers pulling from you only long enough to smear your arousal on his cock, to pump his fist until he’s covered.
It’s then that you think you hear it again. Just as his tongue slips inside you. Another mechanical sound from outside, just barely audible through the wooden walls.
“Dee,” You moan, fingers twisting in his hair. Either to pull him closer or push him away, you’re not sure, “I d-definitely heard-”
“Can’t see in here.” It’s mumbled out, gasped between your thighs.
He’s seen to that, at least. The blinds thick, the bedroom tucked away.
A grin, as his tongue flattens - licking from hole to clit, “Wasn’t planning on leaving, anyways.”
You trust him, knowing he wouldn't leave you vulnerable. The sound in your throat is muffled as your teeth clench, “But they-, what if they hear us?”
It’s only now that his head lifts, those dark eyes blown wide. Paired with a lazy smile, his lips shining as they stretch wide.
A soft croon.
“Then I guess you’d better be quiet.”
Your laugh turns into a soft groan, at the flick of his tongue. Self-conscious perhaps, but not wholly and entirely deterred by the thought of an audience.
Not when you’re with him.
“Keep that up,” You manage - as something molten floods through your belly, “And you might have to help a girl out.”
His weight presses into you as he moves up - heated, bare skin as he settles between your thighs. Dieter’s nose skimming your throat, as his hand slips between your thighs.
Just before his mouth presses to yours, swallowing you moan.
“That, baby… I can do.”

These people will never experience the pain hearing from the causal viewers and THE SR that we who view those characters as queer, are delusional. We were told, it’s in “our heads” and what you see “is your interpretation” NOT what’s on the script. OH CANT FORGET MY FAVORITE, “go write your own SHOW”. Imagine for 6 years viewing buck as queer coded and told you were dumb and “it’s never gonna happen”. For 6 YEARS!!!! It literally took them ONE EPISODE AND MOVING TO A NEW NETWORK for bibuck to happen. And these people think this couple who ONLY HAD 3 dates (1 of them a failed one), and 2 kisses is endgame? 💀💀💀imagine your ship not having any depth to where they stopped caring about them after making buck bi💀💀💀. Where are their scenes? Oh it’s “enjoy it while it lasts”. It’s them having barely 20 minutes of screen while the “non ship” has x2 has much in 10 episodes. Did they forget their fav said this💀💀💀💀

💯no notes agree with everything you said 👏👏👏
and also even that lfj quote pissed me off when it came out bc i was like “how are you gonna stand here and tell me to be grateful for a relationship that came out of left field with no chemistry?” like even if it does lead to buddie i will still hate that whole arc because it could have been handled SO much better and without bringing back a racist character, played by a problematic person, ON TOP of causing the biggest shipping controversy to ever hit this fandom… that man has given me the ick since day one of s7 and when the cameos started and he started encouraging his fans and egging on the bullshit i was done w him.
it pisses me off bc they act like buck has to go through some sort of “queer bootcamp” before he can date eddie and im like…. no he doesn’t?? he doesn’t need some sort of “gay yoda” or whatever they called t-rex in the beginning bc there is no rulebook to being queer… so the whole notion of “working out the kinks” (which is an extra level of icky coming from someone like lfj, and looking back after the daddy joke in 7x10) never sat right with me… and the whole “what if buck got with eddie and didn’t like it?” if he meant that literally as “what if buck didn’t like it” my brother in christ theses are fictional characters, they’re not sims, the writers have full control over literally everything that happens… why would they write them if buck “wasn’t gonna like it” (which is bullshit bc we all know he 1000% fold immediately if eddie kissed him)… if he meant “what if the fandom didn’t like it” (which is an odd way to word that question if this is what he meant) WDYM IF THE FANDOM DOESNT LIKE IT EVEN HALF THE BT SHIPPERS HAVE BEEN SHIPPING BUDDIE FOR ALMOST SIX YEARS????
the whole situation drives me up s wall bc not only have we simultaneously gotten so close yet so far to getting buddie, we also now have to deal with these wack-ass fans policing people, calling queer people homophobic, sending death threats and violent hate speech to people who don’t like their ship, actively talking bad about oliver bc he clearly isn’t a fan of lfj or the way this storyline was handled, on top of having to deal with the show’s retconning of typhoid’s character and trying to brush his shit under a rug using queerness as an “excuse” and thus enabling these people to use the “homophobia” rhetoric when someone doesn’t want a boring ass rewash basic ship.

It's over.
Blitz drives home in silence, radio busted and spritzing after three different channels all seemed to be playing Verosika's dumb, annoying music.
He remembers her in a tank top in the late morning all those years ago, tongue out as she fiddled with the succubus lyre, singing fragmented nonsense under her morning breath. He remembers the glow of her skin, the raspiness of her voice, the scribble of her pencil, the glimpse of their matching tattoos in the light.
His had gotten blown out in a shootout years later, when a stray explosion caught him across the side, disintegrating his entire right shoulder and growing back white. That had been a miserable job, Blitz the only survivor of that crew after the explosion knocked him out of bounds as the rest of them were slaughtered. He'd liked that bunch. Loved them, almost.
Well. Hah. That was the problem, wasn't it?
The wipers squeak as they turn on and Blitz automatically reaches for the handle and jiggles it until they stop.
For all that he'd been fucking shocked walking into the party at the sheer fucking size of it- and proud too, duh, what the hell, twelve-year-old Blitz would have died in shock- it wasn't actually only exes and bad hookups. Just apparently everyone he'd ever pissed off, which- how the hell did Verosika even know.
He wonders if Moxxie and Millie ever got an invitation and wants to throw up. He wonders if Loona ever got one and wants to drive the van into a wall.
They'd be better off if he did, actually. Everyone would.
But as the charming graffiti on the wall stated, Blitz was a cockroach motherfucker, unable to be put down even in the face of absolute certain death for anyone else. He thinks that might have been Orella- they'd worked jobs together until he caught wind of the leader trying to betray the crew for cash and a higher up job offer and he'd joined the rival group to save his hide. He'd fucking told her, he sat her down and explained and everything- but she fucking refused to believe him until she got blown up, seconds after he'd left the building.
Survived, luckily, all of them. Unfortunately, took it fucking personally and came after him, which-
Ohh, fuck, the goddamn leader threw him under the bus, didn't he? Fucking hell. Another problem solved ten years too late.
He wonders if she was at the party. Or if Bion was. Or Lucas. Or Glenna.
He can't believe Stolas went. He can't believe that asshole said he wouldn't and then he did.
He looked good though.
Good enough that-
Blitz jerks at the steering wheel and pulls over sharply, pushing the seat back so he can put his head between his knees. His hands are shaking, breathing loud as the engine dies into silence.
He can't think about it. He can't think about it, or else he's going to drive back and slaughter everyone there, no matter what they once meant to him. Good for him, hope he gets laid worked if they were over and done with and they were not done.
He can still feel the warmth of Stolas' frame in his lap. Drunk as hell and whiny and adorable. Saying all he wanted was to be craved, loved, held close.
Sitting there in the car, hands over his eyes, Blitz sits there and needs him like opium and meth and can't shake the feeling that this might be one of his biggest fuck-ups yet.

Accident 1/2
“Bitch Listen” Dick was fighting with Y/N over coms, and the team was getting tired of their little drama every day. They were fighting all day shouting and blaming each other those two.

“Robin I can’t be fighting with your dumb ass right now. I need you to FUCKING listen damn it.” Y/N was trying to open the gate of the patrol while Dick was next to her complaining. They thought teaming those two up would help with their relationship, but it only made it worse.

It has been over two years since Y/N joined, and they haven’t gotten along once, but as the year went by, it got worse with them.

"That's why I said I should take control, not you." Dick tried to push Y/N out the way, but she stood still.

“Like you understand anything, move!” Y/N pushed Dick, but unlike her, he fell down. She used all her strength on him, it seems.

“You’re making everything worse. Leave me alone, Robin." Turning around, she started working on the code, trying to open the gate for their mission.

“I leave you alone if I lead. I don’t trust you. What if you betrayed us knowing you could be an imposter?" Dick, who got up from the ground, now uses his strength to grab her hand.
But she held back, making them go back and forth.

As the team watched as they were fighting, Wally noticed that it was getting extreme as Y/N fumbled. She tried to grab on to something, making Robin the victim as he was the closest.
Robin, who was trying to grab on to something, happened to press a button.

As they both fell down, they heard a robotic voice say, “Granted approval, please step on the blue patrol to enter.” The moment the robotic voice was down, seven people walked in.

They all stared as the seven people joined them, and what made it weird was that they looked just like them.

Dick, who was on top of Y/N, stared at the group, and Y/N, who saw the girl next to the blue suit guy, kicked Dick so she could see her better.

“Uh miss?” Y/N rush over to the girl who looks so similar to her, trying to figure out what is going on. The woman smiles at her and squeezes her cheeks.

“Was I always this cute?" Little Y/N couldn’t open her eyes as she was getting her cheeks pinched, but she heard a close voice to the side of her.

"Yes, love, I was just too blind to see that,” the voice said as she heard a smooch. The woman let go of Y/N as the team came up to her, with Wally on her right and Dick on her left, while Connor was next to Martian, Artemis and Aqualad together on the side of Wally.

“Am I seeing things, or are there two of us?” Wally pointed at him, and the boy who looked similar to him said, “Dumb dumb that because we are you! But from the future,” answered the older man.

"That is not possible; it is just completely impossible." Dick, who was right next to me, pushed me to the side as the older blue man held my back so I wouldn’t fall. “Because someone dating Y/n is impossible, that girl can’t pull for shit.”

The woman looks over at the blue suit man and smiles while he looks down. A little guilty, he walks over to her and hugs her from behind.
"Sorry, love, I never knew I was that rude back then." He kissed her on the cheek as she giggled.

“I believe I treated you the same, my precious,” she kissed him back. He smiled into the kiss, and they were disgustingly making out as the older man went deeper as he held her from running.

“Excuse me, but I’m so disgusted and disappointed." They parted ways and looked over at little Y/N, who was covering her eyes as the group was looking curiously while Robin was full on glaring.

“Why are you disgusted ? I’m just showing affection to my love.” The blue suit kissed her lips. I guess the older me as she kissed back, “Look, Robin glaring, isn’t that so cute?” the woman said as the suit dude kept kissing her.

“He can only glare because he can’t do it." The man looked over at Robin, who had been quiet this whole time. He smiled at the young man and walked over to him.

“Are you wondering who I am?” The man asked Robin, looking down at him and smirking, Oh man, that smirk. I know that fucking smirk anywhere.

“Y-you!” Pointing my finger at him, they both look over at me. Robin had a confused face as the older one was now smiling.

“You are Robin, aren’t you?” The woman came to me “a-and you are me” she smile “correct”

“Wait! Does that mean I’m dating Y/N in the  future?" Robin asks a question as he points at me and him.

The older two smiled and kissed each other, hugging each other while they started talking about how much they loved each other, and some shit I fell asleep listening 😒

When I woke up, I was sleeping next to Robin. As he hugged me, our eyes were barely open, but when we saw each other, it was a whole-out screaming contest as Robin was cussing while I was sobbing.

“Out of everybody in the team, I wake up next to that ugly ass," I'm sobbing as I’m trying to hold back from punching Robin, who is cussing,
“Fucking hate life, I fucking-“

“Stop the whining, you two.” We both look up and see the older us. “Love, were we always this loud?” Older me ask. She held older Robin's face as he dreamily looked at her. “I believe we only became that loud when I asked you out.” kissing her cheek, she smiled back at him.

"Disgusting,” I said.

“Horrible” Robin completed

Me and Robin look at each other, glaring at first, then smirking as we finally agree to something.

“Question? How did we start dating?” I ask, to which Robin pinched me. “Why would you ask them that?” he whispers, “so that we can avoid this whole  situation." I whisper back.
"Oh, make sense,” he said, looking over at the two while we thought of our mastermind plan.

"Yes, when did y’all start dating?” Robin asked this time.

“If we answer that, that would ruin the future,” older Robin answered, “and it's pretty unexpected when we figure out our feelings.” older me answered back, playing with older Robin's fingers as he giggled. disgusting
But she noticed a bright blue ring on her; it was shaped like a diamond, and Robin noticed it too, but were they married? Older Robin seemed to notice but didn’t mention anything.

“But you should know that I was the one chasing this little deer,” he mumbled, but we all heard him.

“Me chasing Y/N? That funny” Robin and I laugh, but older Robin stares at us and says, “Unexpected but true, soon you will see how much you love her." kissing her cheeks, he glares at Robin. “When you feel like there is no one there, you will see that Y/N will always be there for you.”

“Me looking at Robin? Only if something extreme happens." watching the two as they are holding each other tightly.
“Unless something like that did happen.”

"That was for you to find out and for us to leave,” older me replied back as they started disappearing.

“Wait! At least explain how it  happened." but before anything could be said, they disappeared.

"That's so weird... me looking out for Robin.”

“While I chase after Y/N,”

“Oh well, shit, I’m no Sherlock Holmes, bye." Y/N, who doesn’t want to use her brain, left Robin all by himself to wonder what those two meant.

But even he himself doesn’t understand. All he knows is that he fell first, it seems, but why and how he just doesn’t understand

Maybe he will never understand...

"i don't think i've ever seen you stay with a guy for more than six months." jonathan pointed out teasingly as the two of you sat on his couch alone in his apartment, watching some random horror movie you chose to put on.
"very funny, jonathan." you say sarcastically, reaching over to grab the remote so you could pause the movie. "that doesn't make me feel any better, just so you know."
"you said you broke up with him because you don't care about him." jonathan shrugged. "psychologically speaking, have you ever considered that you may have an avoidant—"
"oh please," you scoffed, "do not turn this into one of your therapy sessions. psychoanalyze me all you want, but i guarantee you'll be dissappointed."
"i feel like you have a phobia of commitment." he says, sighing as he looked at you through his glasses.
"no, it's not that. it's just — nobody ever kept my attention." you explain, causing jonathan to raise a brow. "they just don't know how to make me...happy."
"i see," he said softly, "have you ever considered that, i don't know, maybe your going for the wrong type of guys?"
"what do you know about love? you're married to your job." you scoff, causing jonathan to chuckle softly.
"fair point," he nods, "but i do happen to study human psychology and behavioural patterns for a living."
recently, you had been spending a lot of time with your brothers best friend — doctor jonathan crane. he'd known jonathan for a good few years, the two of them got along well as they'd met at a conference for medical students when both of them were still in gotham's medical schooling program.
your brother was ten years older than you, meaning that you were currently still in university but your brother had built up a successful career for himself by now. of course, jonathan was just as, if not, more successful, with his name plastered in every article and paper in gotham about the remarkable work he was doing at arkham asylum.
you'd met jonathan while you were still in high school, but you only started to get close with him during your first year of university. one evening, you'd gotten a little too drunk at a frat party with your friends, and ended up calling your brother to come pick you up in your drunken state.
unfortunately, he had informed you that he was just swamped at work — but he would get his best friend, jonathan, to do him a favour and pick you up since he only lived about ten minutes away from the area you were partying at.
when he picked you up, all you could focus on was how handsome he was — why hadn't you noticed this before? not to mention his intoxicatingly blue eyes; how could someone have eyes that blue?!
after that — the two of you had become quite close. suddenly, you were tagging along if your brother and jonathan had plans, and you were also hanging out with jonathan when your brother wasn't around as well.
something just clicked when you two were together, despite him being nearly a decade older than you. the two of you would frequently make plans to meet up, whether that was to get food together or watch movies snuggled up on the couch of his apartment.
just as friends though, of course — he was your brothers best friend. plus, you were sure that jonathan would never see you in that way.
and since you'd been friends for a minute, he knew just what you liked; what made you smile. he'd even see boys come and go, he knew what made you cry. though he'd never say it aloud — he wanted to be the one to treat you right.
"what time is it?" you asked.
jonathan checked his watch, "quarter to seven." he replied, making you groan as you got up from his couch. "where are you going?"
"home," you sighed, "i have a date tonight — nate's picking me up at nine."
"you just broke up with your boyfriend two weeks ago, and you have a date already?" he asked with surprise, and you rolled your eyes as he got up with you.
"yes, so what? i told you that two month relationship meant nothing to me anyway." you shrugged, and jonathan looked at you with concern as he grabbed his car keys off the kitchen counter. "spare me the judgement please, jonathan."
jonathan always drove you — even though you had your own license and car, he insisted. "i'm not judging you, i just don't want you to get hurt." he said with a sigh, and for a moment, he almost sounded disappointed.
"i wont." you assured him as the two of you drove back to your home. since you were still in university, you lived at home with your parents, and it had become a routine. he'd pick you up, and sometimes you'd even stay overnight at his place — as if friends do that.
"okay, well," he said with a sigh, parking on your driveway, "just promise me you'll call me if you need anything."
"i will. i know you're working an overnight shift so i can just call my brother—"
"just call me, i'll answer." he said softly.
when jonathan told you that, you felt your cheeks heat up and your heart start to beat rapidly. you smile and nod, waving goodbye as he drove off, leaving you at home again. as you rushed upstairs to start getting ready for your date — a feeling of overwhelming dread consumed you.
you were always defensive and deflective anytime anyone asked about your commitment issues. you knew the root cause: it was jonathan. the reason nobody could ever keep your attention was because you were already too focused on someone else — your brothers best friend.
you went on date after date, dated guy after guy, only to break their hearts months (and sometimes even just weeks) later. you were a professional at delivering the whole "it's not you, it's me" speech. you were sure that at some point, someone would help you get over jonathan.
but nobody ever did.
however, that all changed after your date with some guy named nate from your class had gone poorly. he was very clearly into you, however you on the other hand, were not into him at all. your mind was doing that thing again.
you know, the thing where your thoughts were consumed with jonathan and jonathan only — thoughts of what he was doing right now. how was work going for him? your mind was spinning as you daydreamed what it would be like to be the one he'd come home to every night, after a hard day.
"did you hear what i asked?" nate's voice cut through your thoughts, and you looked up at him as you mindlessly swished the clear liquor in your martini glass.
"oh, m'sorry — no." you say in a bored manner, making no attempt to conceal your disinterest.
"whatever," nate sighed, clearly frustrated with your lack of interest for the last hour over drinks, "enjoy your night, i guess."
he places a fifty on the bar top, grabbing his phone and wallet before heading out of the bar you were in. you made no attempt to stop him, and instead, you order another martini for yourself as you let the liquor stir inside of you.
tonight, you felt like you'd hit a dead end. when were you going to learn that this would never work? when would you come to terms with the fact that another guy wouldn't fill the jonathan shaped void in your heart?
reaching into your purse, you grab your phone and put it up to your ear as you heard the dial tone.
"hello?" jonathan's voice spoke from the other end of the line.
"jonathan, hey," you said softly, "i'm sorry for calling, i know you're busy at work right now—"
"do you need me to come pick you up?" he asked, interjecting you and your tipsy apology.
"i-i can call my brother, it's fine. i don't even know why i called—" you said, suddenly feeling very choked up.
jonathan's tone went from casual to concerned in a matter of seconds as he heard you sniffling from the other end of the line. "are you okay? where are you? i'm leaving right now."
maybe it was the gin or maybe it was the harboured feelings you'd been denying for the last year — perhaps both — but all you wanted to do was drunkenly cry and confess the way you felt for him.
screw being just friends, right?
after telling jonathan the address, you let the liquor do the talking. "jonathan?" you asked, to which he hummed over the line, "i just — i have feelings for you."
as you let out your slightly drunken confession, you hang up the phone before he had a chance to respond, throwing back the rest of your martini as you made your way outside. the weather in gotham tonight was miserable, rain pouring down heavily as the night sky was glum.
this was not your best moment — but when jonathan heard your little confession, his cold heart melted a little. even if it took a little liquid courage to get there, then so be it — he'd finally got conformation that you felt the same.
you weren't sure how long you were stood outside in the parking lot of the bar, letting the rain pour down on you dramatically, but you started to shiver. of course you did — you were in heels and a dress, and now, you were soaked from head to toe.
suddenly, you heard your name being called out and you looked to your left to see a familiar car parked, with a familiar man in a suit and glasses rushing over to you. "what are you doing out here? it's pouring." jonathan said with concern, taking his suit jacket off and immediately placing it around you. "come on, i'll take you back to my place — i took the night off of work."
"why?" you ask suddenly, making jonathan raise a brow.
"what do you mean why? just — get in the car, it's pouring." he asked with confusion, but you continued to argue.
"how long are you going to keep pretending were just friends?" you choke back a sob, and he looks at you with concern once more. "friends don't — fuck, friends don't do what we do!"
"how drunk are you?"
"i'm not even that drunk!" you exasperate, "i just wanted an excuse to call you!"
"of course i don't think of you as a friend!" he exclaimed, "but you're out with a new guy every month!"
"because i was scared of telling you how i felt. i only ever wanted you!" you exclaimed back, tears streaming down your face as you were both intoxicated and vulnerable.
as soon as he noticed your tears, he stepped closer to you in the pouring rain, letting it soak you both. his hand suddenly reached up to cup your face gently, "why on earth wouldn't you just tell me?"
"you're my brothers best friend. and were friends, i just figured—"
"what if i don't want to be just friends?" he asked as you blinked your tears away. "haven't you noticed the way i look at you whenever you're around? the way i would drop anything to be there for you, no questions asked?"
everything was happening so fast, from your drunk confession to letting out a year of pent-up emotions — but it didn't matter anymore. you'd fallen for him and now, it was clear that he had fallen for you too.
"then fuck being just friends." you whispered.
within seconds, his lips came crashing down on yours as the gotham rain poured down on the both of you in the parking lot. alcohol was coursing through your veins, but now, so was adrenaline. you weren't sure how it all happened — but in the midst of a big, blurry mess, you ended up in jonthan's bed sharing sloppy, hungry kisses together.
his touch was gentle — loving — and you melted into it. carefully, he slipped your soaking dress off, and you tried not to cower under his gaze. those blue eyes of his had such an effect on you, and he smiled softly as he tried to ease your nerves.
"we don't have to do this — just tell me to stop and we can." he whispered lovingly, gently playing with your hair. "i don't want you to feel pressured since you've been drinking."
"i want to do this jonathan," you insisted, feeling a cocktail of emotions bubbling all at once, "i just really care about you. about us — i don't want to...screw things up between you and me."
"i know," he whispered, "but i promise, nothing will change between us—"
"i've had feelings for you for a long time." you said suddenly. "if we do this, i need to know you're serious."
he hummed softly in acknowledgement and placed a soft kiss on your lips. "ever since last year, when we started to hangout alone. just us..." he trailed off, admiring every detail of your pretty face. "i couldn't stop myself from falling for you."
"god, jonathan. you're such a sappy romantic deep down." you teased lightly, making him smile. "and all this time i thought you were in love with your job."
"well that," he said softly, "but i fell in love with you too."
your breath got caught in your throat as the words fell from his lips. not to mention your heart started to race about a million miles a minute. all this time you'd been harbouring your feelings for jonathan — he'd felt the same.
"i-i fell in love with you too," you confess, rambling on innocently, "s-sorry, i feel like i'm making things so awkward—"
he cuts you off with a kiss, his hands now resting on your hips as his thumbs started to rub soothing circles onto your skin. "relax, sweetheart," he whispered, "just lay back for me. let me show you how much i love you."
slowly, he started to pepper kisses down your stomach and thighs, making you squirm a little under his feather light touch. his hands came to paw at the waistband of your underwear, and if you weren't red in the face before — you definitely were now.
"are you comfortable?" jonathan asked softly, his icy blue eyes piercing through yours as he looked up at you from between your thighs. "is this okay?"
the sight was driving you to the brink of insanity, and with a desperate nod, you look down at him nervously. "y-yeah, just a little nervous." you admitted with honesty.
"have you ever...?" he raised a brow, his breathing slightly ragged.
"y-yeah, no i have before," you say as your heart raced, "i-it's just — it's you."
"what does that mean?"
"you...make me nervous." you say with pink cheeks, nervously giggling as his fingers toyed with the lace of your panties.
"like i said before," his voice dropped several octaves as he slid your underwear down your legs, "let me ease your nerves, darling."
you barely had a chance to react before his hands were gripping at your thighs, and his tongue was licking a fat stripe up your soaked cunt. your head fell back onto the pillows as every pent up anxious thought suddenly left your body, the only thing coming out of your mouth being breathless moans.
as your eyes rolled into the back of your head, he ate you out like his life depended on it — the man was gifted with the knowledge of anatomy, after all. he knew a few things.
his tongue continued to lick all around your dripping folds, lapping up your arousal as you fell apart from his touch. as he took your clit into his mouth, you let out a strangled moan. you could feel him smirk against your cunt when you moaned — which turned you on more if that was even possible.
"j-jonathan," you moaned feverishly, "i-i'm so close—"
"yeah, are you?" he asked with a muffled voice, face still buried in your cunt, "come on, darling, let me taste all of you."
as he worked his skillful tongue in your hole, your back arched and his name started to fall from your lips over and over again like a chant. you swore you started to see stars from the way he was eating you out, devouring your body as if you were something to be cherished. to be worshipped.
as you came on his tongue, jonathan lapped up every last drop of you, sparing no mercy as he continued to lick every part of your pussy even after you'd came.
"s'too much," you whined, "but i need you inside of me, jon."
he finally pulled away from your puffy, needy little hole, wiping his lips and chin with his suit sleeve. he tossed his suit jacket onto the floor in a rush, and you were holding back moans as you watched him undress.
it felt like an eternity (forty-five whole seconds), but he got undressed as he positioned himself between your spread legs. how's that supposed to fit?! you thought to yourself, watching in awe as his thick cock leaked pre cum from the tip.
"take a picture, it'll last longer." he teased, causing you to scoff.
"shut up, i didn't think you'd be...so b-big." you managed to choke out, cheeks burning.
"so, what i'm hearing is that you've thought about us having sex before."
"oh my god, shut — mmph!" as you were about to dish out something back, he pushed his throbbing cock into your cunt without warning, catching you off guard as he split you in two.
"you were saying?" he cooed mockingly, moving his hips gently as you adjusted to his size.
"mm, fuuuck—" you moaned, unable to comprehend his teasing as he fucked you deliciously with his fat cock.
"awe, how cute," he cooed, "you're already cockdrunk. what a needy little thing you are, hm?"
he suddenly took hold of your hips, pulling you closer as he fucked you faster, deeper — harder. you let out a strangled, choked moan as his cock hit all the right places inside of you, rubbing against that spongy spot as he fucked you closer and closer to your release.
jonathan groaned through gritted teeth, trying not to lose his sanity as he felt your warm, wet, hole clench around his cock. "fuck, you're so tight — perfect fucking pussy."
"a-ah, you feel, fuuck — so good, jonathan. right there—!"
"right there, darling?" he asked, emphasizing his words by snapping his hips into you harsher each time, "you like it when i fuck you like this? when i turn you into a desperate little whore, is that it?"
"yes, f-fuck y-yes!" you whine breathlessly, your mind going blank.
"i bet you love getting your pussy stretched like this, don't you?" he cooed with faux sympathy, "you love getting ruined by me."
"m-mhm!" you agree mindlessly, barely able to focus on his words with the way he was brutally pounding your cunt. "l-love you, jon."
"oh fuck— look at you pretty girl. so ruined and so fucking eager to please me." he growled lowly, watching you fall apart underneath him as you took his cock deeper. "god, i love you too — and i love watching you turn into nothing but a little fucktoy for me."
his degrading words didn't match with the saccharine tone that managed to slip through his voice. but you were too fucked out and ruined to put two and two together.
"come on my cock, darling." he commanded softly, feeling your cunt fluttering around his cock. "come for me."
his words pushed you over the edge, and within seconds, you were babbling incoherently again as he fucked you senseless. you couldn't process your thoughts — your brain short circuiting as your release washed over you.
the sight of you getting fucked dumb by him was enough to make jonathan come on the spot, and as you came all over his cock, he was filling your cunt with his warm seed. he let out a low, gravelly moan as he painted your walls white with his cum, and you wrapped your arms around him in an attempt to keep him close.
after the both of you caught your breath in the now oddly quiet bedroom in his apartment, he let out a breath as he winced, pulling out of you.
"so does this mean were just friends?" he joked, pulling you into his arms as you scoffed. "kidding — you're forever mine now, darling. don't you ever forget it."

Thumb v Printer | Matt Murdock x Reader
Masterlist
Pairing: Matt Murdock x Reader (gender neutral)
Summary: Your clumsiness keeps Matt on edge at all times. Like when you cut your thumb on a printer.
Warnings: None. (Maybe slight description of injury for those of you who are squeamish). Tooth-rotting fluff.
Word Count: ~1k
A/n: This did happen to me. It's healed now, but a piece of my thumb was missing for like a week and it wasn't fun. All because I had to print my sources for an essay and the paper got stuck. Smh.

If a stranger came up to you and told you, “I smell blood,” it would be more than enough to make you run for the hills. Sharing a home with Matt Murdock though, you have heard stranger things.
You turn from your spot on the sofa, putting your laptop aside for a moment to greet him. “Hello to you too,” you answer casually.
He tilts his head in your direction. His nostrils flare. You know better than to question it. He’s wearing the same suit he left your shared apartment with this morning, his tie only loosened slightly to allow him some air to breathe. The last streaks of sunlight filter through the window, enveloping him in an ethereal glow. He’s so beautiful, but he doesn’t allow you much time to admire him as he stands in the hallway, his hands propped up on his hips as though he is about to lecture you on criminal law before the Civil War.
“You opened the first-aid kit,” he states. “What happened?”
It’s an astute observation, you have to give him that. “Oh. Yeah.” You chuckle. “I just cut my finger on the printer, that’s all.”
He stutters for a moment, almost like an old engine. “You… I’m sorry, what?”
His worried expression fades into something else entirely. You know that look all too well; he’s confused—so confused, in fact, that he forgets how concerned he was a minute ago.
“I cut my finger on the printer,” you repeat, shrugging. “Happens.”
“I’m gonna regret asking you this, but…how?”
“Well, I was printing some documents earlier, and the paper got stuck, so, I had to lift the top and get in there, right?”
He nods. “Right.”
So far, it sounds plausible, but he knows you. Matt is well aware that your clumsiness manages to exceed his in many ways, and you have gotten yourself into predicaments in the past that he still hasn’t wrapped his head around. Sometimes, shit happens to and around you, and he has to accept that. He never fails to try though, which is kind of endearing, in a way. It’s something you have gotten used to over the years; he has to ensure you’re okay or he can’t find a moment to rest.
“I wasn’t wearing my glasses,” you confess, “so I had to put my face as close as possible to see what I was doing. Anyway, the paper ripped and since my position didn’t allow for any traction, I accidentally got my thumb caught on a sharp edge because if I’d pulled my hand out I would’ve hit myself in the face.”
A moment of silence passes. The wheels in Matt’s head visibly turn. He fidgets with the waistband of his pants, still processing. Eventually, he asks, “What?”
You sigh. “I’m sorry for not cleaning up. I was busy trying to fix my thumb and the printer.”
“I’m not… sweetheart, I’m not worried about the mess. I’m worried about you.” Matt slips the glasses off his nose and places them aside.
“I’m okay,” you tell him. But are you, really?
“You sure?” He bridges the gap between you, tugging at your hand to run his fingers over the bandage; the cut underneath screams in protest. “Let me check.” His hazel eyes focus blankly at the space where your nose is, but it feels as though he is staring into your soul.
“Matt…” You try to stop him, but he swiftly unpacks the injury.
He sucks in a sharp breath when the scent hits him. You wonder what it smells like; blood, definitely, and maybe some of the ink you accidentally got into the wound before disinfecting it. His thumb gently inspects the area around it, trying not to hurt you. Matt can’t help but shake his head again; it doesn’t take much for him to realize that it isn’t just a tiny cut.
“Jesus,” he curses under his breath. “Feels like you’re missing some skin there.”
You try to make light of the situation. “Maybe we’ll find it the next time one of us prints something.”
His jaw clenches. You’re not in pain anymore, and your fight with the printer did not lead to a life-threatening injury, but he can’t stand the thought of you being hurt, not even for a second.
“I love you,” he says, “but you’re the clumsiest person I’ve ever met.” It’s not as endearing as it usually sounds.
“Huh.” You huff. “That’s saying a lot, considering you’re the clumsiest person I’ve ever met.”
“I’m blind,” he retorts, eyebrows raised to his hairline. He’s standing there, expression suggesting he thinks you have officially lost your mind, and it rubs you the wrong way.
You retract your hand, glaring at him with all you’ve got. “And I’m extremely short-sighted!” You don’t have to yell for him to feel the intended sting of your tone.
His hands find their way back to his hips like a condescending mother. “Why weren’t you wearing your glasses?”
“Because,” you say, “I accidentally got coffee on them this morning and forgot to put them back on.” Your confidence falters halfway through though, realizing it doesn’t work well in your defense. Especially not in an argument with a skilled lawyer such as your boyfriend.
You love his caring nature more than life, but sometimes he treats you like a child who needs saving. Your heart is racing in your chest, and perhaps that is why he stops before you can make an argument out of a simple cut on your finger. It’s not worth it.
“I… you know what,” Matt caves, and his biceps relax, “I’m not even going to ask.”
You nod, albeit not triumphantly. You didn’t exactly win this battle of wits. “Yeah. Probably for the better,” you answer, chin held high, but it’s of no use.
You got defeated. By a printer.
His lips curve into a soft smile. “C’mere.” He leans in, his nose brushing against yours. He smells of his cologne, paper, and coffee—like home. And he probably tastes like what he had for lunch or maybe the water he gozzled before heading home, but there is always a slight tinge of something indescribable when he kisses you.
Before your lips can finally touch though, he halts. Matt sniffs, licking his lips and tasting the air. “You smell like ink,” he says.
Your eyes narrow. Asshole. “Thank you. That’s…should I pour bleach into my mouth to accommodate you, Murdock?” you snap, pushing away from him.
Instead of begging on his knees for forgiveness—a dramatic notion you would not be opposed to—he laughs. Matt Murdock has the audacity to laugh. “I’m sorry,” he breathes out between giggles. “I’m sorry. Hey!” He tugs at your arm once more. “At least let me hug you. Please.”
You pout. “I’ll bite you.”
“Please don’t.”
“I might.”
He brings you into his arms with little resistance from your end, guiding your head just above his heart. So you can hear him. Feel him. Smell him. “I love you too,” he murmurs against your hair.
You bury your face in his chest. It’s unfair how comfortable he is. “Hm. You’re lucky you’re irreplaceable,” you say, but it lacks conviction.
Matt clicks his tongue. “You’re so nice to me.”
“You started it.”
“That’s fair.” Grabbing your chin, he tilts your head back up. “I still love you.”
You can’t bite back a smile this time, purring, “Oh, I know.”
That’s never going to change, you know. And you love him. All of him, all the time, and unconditionally.

SUNDAY SNIPPET
okay so this is considerably more than a snippet but sue me lol it's from my latest pov buck drunk!buddie getting together wip bc it is fighting me and i need some feedback for motivation asdfhjkljjjjsksk
.
After a moment, Eddie wipes the laughter-tears from his eyes and calms down enough to say, “God, I fucking love you Buck,” and Buck has to work very hard to not let moisture gather in his own eyes, but for a completely different reason.
He swallows, manages a chuckle and says, “I know,” and thinks about how completely crushed he would be if he were to ever lose Eddie and Chris.
Eddie scoffs, “Alright, Han Solo.”
“Who?” Buck lies, trying his drunken best to keep a straight face.
“Do not even—look, I know there are a shit-ton of old movies you tragically—and sinfully, I might add—have never seen, Buck. But you not knowing Star Wars or who Han Solo is? Shut the fuck up. Ni yendo a bailar a chalma, man.”
Buck just looks at Eddie.
Eddie holds out his hand, palm up, in an explanatory gesture and translates for Buck. “It's kinda like… Not a cat's chance in hell, mi amigo.”
It always feels so, so good whenever Buck is reminded of just how well Eddie knows him; knows exactly what he needs at any given time.
“Anyways, we watched them together with Chris, you idiot.” Eddie grins at him. “And c'mon, man, you pretty much are Han Solo.” He smiles a soft little smile, then, and shrugs one shoulder. “He was always my favourite.”
The involuntary smile that blooms on Buck's face at the thinly-veiled compliment feels like stepping out of the shadows and into the light.
Then Eddie looks thoughtful, in the way only a drunk person getting thoughtful can, which basically means looking like one of the characters from Dazed and Confused (Eds showed him that movie a while back).
Eddie holds a finger up and says, “Hang on, okay, so if you're captain of the Millennium Falcon, then who does that make me?” jabbing a thumb at himself, his drink sloshing around the glass in his other hand. “And do not say Luke because I am sadly not the greatest Jedi the galaxy has ever known, regardless of how much I wanna be. Seriously, I don't care what you or Christopher say; wielding a lightsaber is much harder than it looks; Toys ‘R’ Us plastic LED version or not.”
Buck closes his eyes in condolence, placing a hand over his heart and nodding his head, trying his best to look gracious and not laugh. Buck is pretty damn good with a lightsaber, but Eds? Not so much. Former soldier or not, he always manages to knock shit over with it, or end up with it flying out of his hands and halfway across the room.
“So?” Eddie presses.
Buck looks up from being momentarily lost in remembering the last time they’d all played jedis together. Buck and Eddie had shared Eddie's purple sabre as they took it in turns to fight against Chris with his green one. Eddie has promised they'll get Buck his own, soon. A blue one, to match his eyes, Eddie had said.
“Huh?”
“Which Star Wars character would I be?” Eddie asks again, eyebrows raised in question.
“Oh, okay. The whole pantheon?” The Star Wars franchise is one Buck has taken great pleasure getting into.
Eddie looks at Buck like Buck might be brain dead.
“Uh, obviously. Why would we limit ourselves here, man? With all the new content we've gotten in recent years—new movies, the series, animations—the world's our roast Porg, dude.” Eddie grins and flicks his eyebrows, biting his bottom lip.
Buck tries not to choke on his spit.
“Sure, sure, he recovers, smiling back and nodding his head. He taps at his chin with a finger in contemplation.
Eddie then adds, “And you better not say Chewbacca, hombre. I am nowhere near hairy enough for that.”
Buck desperately tries not to think about just how hairy Eddie might be. He's showered with Eddie at the station plenty of times, but has always had to try really, really hard to not openly stare at Eddie's amazing body.
It's only just now dawning on Buck that he has always really, really wanted to.
“Nah, that's probably gotta be Bobby,” Buck grins, glad of the distraction. “But not because he's hairy, more like occasionally short tempered but loyal to a fault, with the biggest heart I've maybe ever known. And somebody who just like, takes care of everybody else, y’know?”
“Yeah, that tracks.” Eddie looks fond. “Although I think I might know somebody else with a heart just as big. Bigger, even, maybe… But don't tell Cap I said that.”
They both smile, Buck thinking about how telling Bobby about this conversation would go, and about how Eddie was probably talking about Christopher, who, come to think of it, definitely has the biggest heart of anyone Buck knows.
Buck then takes a moment to think seriously about the question Eddie posed, and finds himself having to look up at the ceiling to escape Eddie's now pretty intense gaze.
Pretty. Intense.
Definitely two Tequila Drunk Eddie traits—although, Eddie is just pretty all the time.
Everybody knows that.
After a little more thought, Buck comes to his conclusion.
“Okay. Honestly? I cannot choose just one, Eds. So it's gotta be a total tie breaker between…” he makes a drum roll on Eddie's calf with his forefingers, “The Mandalorian and Princess Leia.”
Eddie considers this a moment, then says, “You think I'd look good in either a metal helmet that covers my entire head… or a gold bikini?”
Buck smiles wryly. “Both? Both is good,” he jokes, quoting The Road To El Dorado knowing Eddie will get the reference. Christopher loves that movie, almost as much as Buck and Eddie do.
“So you're saying you wanna get me half-naked, but cover up my face?” Eddie asks, one brow now raised in a way that doesn't exactly scream annoyance or disdain, or even shock.
Buck feels the blush creep up his neck and his cheeks flush a hot red. He hopes Eddie will blame the Tequila.
“I don't know whether to be flattered or offended, Buck.”
Before Buck can think about what he's saying, he's answering, “I'd never wanna hide a face like that, Eds.”
Oh, shit.
How the hell is Buck gonna charm his way out of that particular slip-up?
.

SOOOOOO hard to go through everyday life trying to ignore the never-ending feeling that im just irreparably fucked up and therefore should just give up on everything
#this aint exactly s******* but it aint exactly not s******* either#anyways it gets even harder when i have to live under the same roof as my brother who is so much better than me in every single conceivable#and imaginable way possible like#and i knowwww a LOT of it comes down to us having relatively similar yet wildly different lives despite being 1.5y apart and having the sam#family our entire lives like he has gone through NOTHING and i mean not a single societal issue ive had to face and endure my entire life#he's a man im a woman. he's white im black. he's straight im gay. he's skinny ive always been 'overweight'. he's always been the good#christian kid ive always had issues w faith and religion. he's never been mentally ill i was clinically depressed for nearly 8yrs of my lif#we both lost the same parent and im the only one who got pathological grief and a personality disorder out of it. he's had a great job for#the last 7yrs that now pays him 20k+ every month ive only had 3 odd jobs my entire life and 2 of those my MOTHER had to give me so i would#have SOMETHING and ive never made over 1.6k monthly n my last job was minimum wage only#he's had like 4 relationships and is nearly engaged im so traumatized + emotionally unavailable ive only ever been on 1 date my entire life#he has a good relationship w every family member we have i have Issues w like half the family. he's always been an active member of our#church i can barely listen to like 4 traditional hymns before i start losing my mind and spiraling. i think the only two ways we're pretty#much equal like socially is that we're both able bodied cis and christians but still the cis and christian thing is debatable for previousl#stated reasons so like. do yall see how much better he is doing than me in every little last area in life and how he's always gotten the#long straw when it comes to Not having to deal w certain obstacles in life. n i know its like yea idk what it actually is like to be him an#he could not be doing all that well first of all shut up. second of all if it was 1 or 2 things i'd get it but it's literally EVERYTHING#and i know bc of said things n our v different lives it's unfair to me to compare the two of us but then it begs the question: WHY#WHY did i have to go through these things. WHY do i have to deal w this. WHY did i get the short straw literally every goddamn time#WHY did i have to get THIS life like WHYYYYY why ME GOD. why have I had to put up w all this bullshit for 24 fucking years!!!!!!!!! im TIRE#and this is not me hating or resenting him i know it's not his fault and he is so good to me#but still. why was i left with these things? to live like this?#so yes i guess i do envy him a little bit. who wouldn't#mari.txt#personal#tw negative#dl#btw i do NOT mean some identities are better than others. i mean he is better and is doing better than me in life partially bc he's never#had to deal w certain social issues and obstacles that come w oppressed identities.

What do you mean by being toxic in relationships?
Tumblr media
❝ Well SHIT, where do I even start? ❞ Did it really come as a SHOCK to people that he was a toxic person to get into a relationship with? He was a BAD person in the first place, and that didn't change when he was in a relationship. The absolute biggest proof of how terrible a boyfriend he was... He didn't want to TALK about that at all.
When Nnoitra had dated Grimmjow, Grimmjow had tried to kill himself.
It had been Nnoitra's fault.
He knew that. There was no getting around the fact that it was his behaviour that had led Grimmjow to feel like he'd be fucking better off dead. Nnoitra thought about this from time to time, when he thought about how their relationship had turned so loveless after a while, but Grimmjow hadn't broken up with him. He wondered if he'd been afraid to do so. It had been the same with Kyota, his other ex. He had just straight out LEFT without a fucking word, rather than break up with him.
Driving your boyfriend into a suicide attempt... Was there ANYTHING WORSE you could do as a partner? Nnoitra had put himself first, and been so SO FUCKING SELFISH. The worst part was that he hadn't even seen it. It had been such a natural thing for him that he hadn't stopped to think that maybe he was doing something wrong.
He wished he could go back in time and fix things. Stop himself from being such a fucking asshole. But there was no going back, and he KNEW he would repeat the same mistakes again. It was just who he was, right? A bad person.

Popcorn has gotten himself banned from every grooming salon in the region of Kitakami.
This was made significantly easier by the fact that there is only one grooming salon in Kitakami.

Dad has said talking to us is like walking on eggshells, but honestly the reverse is true too, when he steps on our toes we have to find a balance between not flying off the handle and actually making our anger clear, because anything less is basically no reaction in his mind so he doesn't even realise that something went wrong. We also have to make our point clear and stand our ground, something we're not good at when it comes to him. Fights between undiagnosed autistic parents and their early diagnosed more socially developed autistic adult kids are fucking rough.
