-> Zhongli being a girl dad!✨
-> Zhongli being the type of dad that's absolutely overprotective of his daughter, he wouldn't let any guy come close to his daughter. Always protecting his precious gem.
-> One day you even found Zhongli in a ridiculous state with your daughter which you couldn't help but laugh about.
"Daddy! Can we play princesses and tea parties please??"
"Hm. I am still in the middle of finishing something."
"Aw.. :("
Seeing your daughter's sad face he couldn't refuse.. so he decided to play for a while. He spoke with his signature smile.
"Alright. I will play then. But only for an hour."
"Really?! Yay! I'll go get my dollies and stuff!!"
He heard her footsteps running to her room to grab her stuff. He couldn't help but give a hearty chuckle.
"Alright I've got my things! But.. there's something missing.."
"Hm? Missing? Like what?"
"This party was only for princesses but you're a guy!"
"O-oh is that so?.."
"But that's okay! We can dress you up!! Follow me!!"
You were out shopping for stuff while your daughter went to your bedroom and opened your closet. Zhongli was beside her all along.
"Why are we in your mother's room? She would be quite mad at us if we broke anything."
Your daughter just ignored him completely and was still searching in your closet until she found a pretty dress.
"Okay put this on! This is very gorgeous! Mommy has so many pretty dresses.."
"Ah I remember gifting her th-"
"No lectures put it on!!!"
"Alright alright."
As both of them were playing in your daughter's bedroom. You had come home from shopping and seen that zhongli is not at his usual place. Which is quite odd. However there was indeed a lot of noise coming from her room so you decided to check it out.
"What's going on here?"
Both of them immediately froze. Not only that, the bedroom was quite messy.
"Wait a second. Is that my dress?"
Zhongli was in a tough spot. He didn't know what else to do. And your daughter immediately told what happened with joy.
"Mommy! Isn't daddy looking good?"
"Hm.. let me see."
That's when you saw zhongli in a ridiculous state. Girly makeup which was not well done. But he was very proud of how he looked. So he immediately became serious.
"What?"
"Nothing.. just wondering how you look so fine today."
"Yes. I am very pretty."
"Yes!! See!! He looks very beautiful as a princess!!"
You died out laughing that moment.
"Ah yes.. I suppose he does look gorgeous. In my dress that too. So how was your tea party my dear? Hm?"
Zhongli would never forget that smirk of yours ever since. He was quite proud of how he looked because his daughter had done the makeup but none the less he sighed and spoke up.
"Yes it's very good. Now if you don't disturb us please."
That's when you noticed.. that they weren't playing with the toy tea set. But with the actual tea set. They had a real tea set.
"Hm? So you made the tea?"
"Yes. Would you like to have a cup of tea?"
Still seeing him in that attire, you still broke out laughing and gave in to his offer.
"Alright fine. I'll join in. However would the two of you like to have some cake to go along with it?"
"Cake?"
"Yay cakes! I thought you had forgotten mommy! Thanks!"
"Ah no big deal."
"Yay now there's one thing missing.."
"And what that might be?"
"You! We need you to be properly dressed!!"
"o-Oh?"
Before you know it you had also worn a pretty gown and make up done by your daughter. Zhongli had a smirk the whole time you both were spending time with your daughter. And now it was his turn to quietly laugh at you.
Rather that it was quite an enjoyable day.
-> Like I said again he also hates when some boy likes his daughter. How dare that person!
"Dad I am officially a grownup!!"
"HUH?! WHEN. HOW. WHERE."
"Calm down zhongli. I mean she's nearly a teenager now-"
"I TOLD YOU DEAR! ITS THE CHICKEN. NOW WHAT-"
"I got a letter!"
Both of you were confused.
"Whats the letter supposed to mean?"
"It means someone loves me mom!"
Is it a love letter my dear?"
"Yes!! I-"
"Who's the guy."
"Zhongli cool down it's just a letter."
"My absolute dearest. I just want to talk to that guy."
"Zhongli you're out to kill him aren't you?"
"..."
"Answer the question."
"..."
"Zhongli?"
"Yes."
"Come on love it's just a letter.."
"No."
"I am not gonna talk you out of this am I?"
"Yes."
"Zhongli no killing."
"Ok dearest."
"..."
"But you didn't say not to hit him with a meteorite."
"ZHONGLI NO-"
-> Let's just say it's a chaotic night.

I genuinely love that Kingsglaive is just the most by-the-books action movie ever. Like it’s so Hollywood Summer Blockbuster it’s funny. Which honestly suits how goddamn American the setting of FFXV is. But yeah like in the middle of all the fantasy video game shit in FFXV, like, Die Hard happens off-screen in the middle of the prologue. It’s great.

Everyone on the team loved you from the moment you joined, everyone, except Miguel.
You knew Miguel was cold towards everyone, but he was extra cold with you. Maybe it was because of how different your personalities were.
You were the embodiment of sunshine, always positive in any situation, putting others before yourself. Hence why everyone calls you sunflower, it fits perfectly, Miles was proud of coming up with it.
Miguel on the other hand was cold and distant but that didn't stop you from trying to get him to open up. You'd try to have simple conversations with him but nothing, all you would receive in reply was an eye roll or a slight grunt, but you wouldn't give up that easily.
Like today, you got him some coffee.
"Morning, boss. Got you some coffee." You said in your usual cheerful tone.
"Why?" He raised his eyebrows, looking down at you suspiciously. That's the most he's said to you all week.
"Because I wanted to." You shrugged, placing it down on his desk.
He steped down walking towards his desk, you couldn't help but stare at him, unfortunately for you, everything about him was so attractive, it's such a shame he hated you.
"This isn't how I like my coffee."
"Huh?" You snapped out of your daydream at the sound of his voice.
"The coffee, it tastes terrible. Get it from another place next time."
"Well, actually I made it-" But he had already walked away from you not listening to a word you said. "Alright, never mind, I'll just go back to work." You mumbled hurt by his words.
"Wait, hold on." You looked up, thinking, maybe he'll say something nice after all.
"Yeah?"
"Take the coffee with you, I won't be drinking it."
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
"Girl, why do you look so sad? Did Miguel do something again?" Jess asked with a frown, she did not like seeing you sad.
"No."
"Sunflower…"
"Okay, yes." Miguel being cold towards you was normal, he never spoke to you unless necessary. Out of everyone here, he probably hated you the most, even more than Miles.
"Sunflower, I've told you to stop trying." Jess sighed.
"I know, I know… why does he hate me so much, Jess?"
"That's just the way he is, don't overthink it. It's his loss, baby." She replied, gently patting your shoulder.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
Today was going to be a good day, you were so sure of it.
But, of course, you were wrong.
Everything was going great up until a few hours ago.
Miguel had assigned you on a mission to catch an anomaly, alongside a few other spider-people. His instructions were clear, stick to the plan and catch the anomaly. It was supposed to be simple.
If only you didn't disobey him. You screwed up badly, and because of that, you could have been killed.
"Why don't you ever listen?" Miguel shouted. No one had ever seen him this angry.
"I was just tryin-"
"¡Ay, por el amor de Dios!" Being yelled at by your boss in front of your coworkers was humiliating, everyone was looking at you with pity.
"I'm sick of this, why can’t you follow simple instructions? Is it that hard to understand?" He barked, towering over you.
"It's not a big deal." You tried to keep your composure, you didn't want to humiliate yourself further by bursting into tears.
"Not a big deal? You could've died! A simple mistake would have ruined the whole mission."
Don't cry. Don't cry.
"But we're all fine, aren't we?" You weakly chuckled. That was the wrong thing to say because it only made him angrier.
"Oh? If that's the attitude you have then you shouldn't even be on the team." Ouch.
"Miguel, I think that's enough-" Hobie said, quickly jumping in.
"Not now, Hobie." He growled.
Never once did you think that you'd be in a situation like this.
"If you put more focus on trying to be good at your job, rather than impressing me, we wouldn't even be here!" Oh, so he did notice that.
At this point, tears were streaming freely down your face and you made no attempt to stop them.
"Yep, you got it, boss." You smiled up at him through your tears. It was pathetic, but you did not care, you just wanted to leave and never come back.
"Next time make sure this doesn't happen."
"It won't happen next time." That's because there won't be a next time.

"you sure you don't wanna come?" rick questioned as he took a box from his son, landing it inside the back of the truck. "we could use the help."
carl watched his dad place a hand on his hip before shaking his head, hand on his hat. "no, i promised y/n i'd stay over. can't miss saturday sleepover can i?" he'd laughed yet he knew he wouldn't wish to miss it for the world, either. rick gave him a look, lips slightly perking up as if he knew something. "what?"
rick wasn't born yesterday either. he was well aware what it was like to have a silly crush, especially at that age. but this... this was much different. "nothin'" before packing in the last box. "you be good, alright? don't ruin the house while glenn and maggie are gone."
the two were going on the supply run with him, along with many more of the fighters. "bye, dad." watching him get into the rusted car.
and so, the day went on.
by the time lunch rolled around, carl still hadn't seen you. however, he wasn't entirely alone. he soon found ron who decided to help him look for you. in return, you'd also be looking for his also missing girlfriend, enid.
"they're always running off." ron muttered under his breath. he knew enid was close with you, possibly your best friend had carl not been thrown into the mix. enid was always running off with you, slinging you around by the arm. "hey, what's the deal with you two anyway?" carl's head peeked up, brows knitting together. "is she like your girlfriend or something?"
his mind moved like puzzle pieces. girlfriend. carl had never had a girlfriend before but he was pretty sure you had to kiss and all that to actually be in a relationship. then again, you don't touch yourself with your 'friend's panties sitting on your dick. he cleared his throat. "no... no we're not together."
saying you were his friend didn't seem all too right but saying you weren't his girlfriend didn't seem right either. you were something.
but ron didn't look convinced, rolling his eyes with his brows raising slightly. "whatever, dude." was it really all that obvious to everyone aside from you? carl thought that if there was a competition on the most oblivious person alive, you'd win.
but perhaps that was the easier option. would he have preferred you to know? everything seemed so easy with the fact that you were so oblivious. it was like a reminder that he could do anything he wanted right under your nose.
"finally." hearing the mutter from ron, carl looked up. this was when he was met with the sight of you, as pretty as ever, sat next to enid on a bench near the town's pond.
carl could barely look at you. the way you sat with your legs folded, smiling away innocently, completely unaware of what he'd done last night. you wore a pretty skirt, enough to slightly hike up your legs, giving carl a view of the pretty plush of your thighs.
he could only imagine digging his hands around the plush, holding it and kneeding the skin. he could only imagine grasping your thighs, holding them close while he rammed his di―
"there you guys are!" ron exclaimed causing carl to shake his head, ridding himself of the thoughts he'd been having. "carl and i were looking all over for you." he had this voice he used when he spoke to girls, one that carl could guarantee was not the voice he used with him.
enid only rolled her eyes. the sight of her boyfriend and carl was enough to have her smile drop. "well, we weren't looking for you." she mumbled. some may say she didn't like anyone aside from you, not even her own boyfriend. carl didn't think there was much of a point of being with someone that you didn't even like. "hence the getaway pond."
ron must have thought she was joking because he came up to pinch her side and kiss her cheek. the sight alone had carl's stomach turning.
however, the sweet sound of your lulling voice was enough to bring him back. "hi, carl." you beamed at him, smile as wide as ever. he hadn't even registered you moving from the bench to his side. all he remembered was the feeling of you snaking in next to him, your body so close. suddenly, he felt so dirty. "we were feeding the ducks." smiling like a child on christmas. you always smiled like that, like you had a thousand things to be smiling about. it always made carl wonder if you were truly made for this world at all.
when he was around you, he was fighting off his own smile. yours was so contagious. the way his lips curved upwards told you he was happy for you, he always was. "that's great ba― y/n." correcting himself as his expression faltered, smile wavering.
he watched as your entire face fell.
he was unable to bring himself to call you those cute names. baby, sweetheart, like an old couple who'd spent their entire lives together. he couldn't bring himself to say such things after he imagined himself fucking you just the night before. it didn't seem right, not when you were so oblivious to the dirtiness behind his words.
the smile wiped clean from your face, carl was sure you could have cried.
you reminded him somewhat of a kicked puppy.
he'd been the one to kick you.
he never called you y/n, unless speaking to someone else like his father or even ron. this was because they'd hardly understand who you were if he was referring to you as sweetheart.
the point was, he only used your name if it was wholeheartedly necessary.
you wondered what'd changed.
your mind ran back to the night before. when he'd entered your house, looking awfully suspicious and at the sight of you, he practically rushed out the door. had you done something wrong? your heart ached at the idea that you may have upset him. a heart of gold, some people said you had. carl had to beg to differ. the look on your face explained all he needed to know, a heart of mere paper.
he regretted it the moment he said it.
he knew how you got, how all up in your head you could be. he could only imagine how you'd be for the rest of the day, going over every interaction you've ever had with the boy and wondering where everything went wrong, where you messed up.
the moment your name slipped from his lips, he thought it may have been better to call you anything else in the entire world. even if it was laced with the dirty undertone.
he felt your body move slightly away from his, eyes cast down on the ground to avoid any glances. "'m gonna go see aaron." you announced, rather loudly too.
"okay." enid responded, her eyes glancing you over before turning to carl, a slight glare, if you will. she didn't particularly like carl, though carl hadn't the foggiest idea why. perhaps it was because she was so protective of you. carl had to roll his eyes, if anyone knew what was good for you, it was him. "don't stay out too late."
you didn't respond, grasping your bag that sat at the bench before turning onto the footpath.
carl had to purse his lips. "wrong way." he said, just loud enough for you to hear.
with slightly wide eyes, you realised he was right. spinning around on your heel, you began walking left instead of right. "thanks." you mumbled under your breath before continuing your walk to one of your favourite people in the entirety of alexandria.
back at the pond, carl was cursing himself under his breath before turning around to find two accusing pair of eyes sat on the bench. one pair belonged to enid, the other to ron. "what did you do?" was enid's accusing tone, her face hard as stone. carl was on the receiving end of this look very often, he didn't fear it... well, he feared it a little but not as much as before... okay he feared it.
"what do you mean what did i do?" he instantly fell to defending himself. despite the fact that he knew he was the reason for your declining mood. "i didn't do anything."
whether it was to intimidate carl or that she smelled the sort of fish smell of ron that carl had smelt earlier, she perked up on the bench, loosening her boyfriend's arm across her shoulder. "she looks like a deflated balloon." she argued.
"yeah." ron nodded his head. carl couldn't stop the glare he sent his way, what did he know. "everyone knows aaron's like her very own guidance councillor, his boyfriend too." he shrugged his shoulders. "whatever you did, i'd say fix it quick."
the brunette boy only glared at the couple. "thanks guys, for that enlightening advice. but i don't need it, okay? i didn't do anything."
on the contrary, he was well aware that it was his fault. he needed to fix it and he needed to fix it fast but he didn't need enid and ron whispering in his ears. nobody knew you like carl, they didn't know what they were talking about. they hadn't seen you crying over some stupid movie you watched. they didn't see you smiling the way he did, they didn't take notice like him.
they'd never understand what it was like to know you. only carl would. and he'd make sure of that.
the sun was setting by the time carl had made it to your house. you'd opened the door, taking him in with your eyes before allowing him inside. maggie and glenn were on the run so the two of you headed straight towards the bedroom where'd you'd begin the movie night. however, carl was more focused on the fact that you'd spoken barely four words to him tonight rather than which disney movie you'd force him to watch this time.
he knew you were in your head but you wouldn't utter the words because what were you meant to say? hey carl, why didn't you call me baby? something so simple had ruined your entire day.
however, carl couldn't keep it in anymore. "are you okay?" he blurted out after many moments of silence as he sat atop your pink bed sheets.
you, at the foot of the bed pursed your lips. you pressed play on the movie and allowed the credits to begin. you weren't the type of person to insist that you were fine if you weren't. carl liked that about you, he never had to guess. "are you mad at me?" voice meek, like a childs.
the realisation hit carl that despite what he was feeling for you, he'd have to push it down in order to continue your friendship. at least, he couldn't take it out on you. "'course not, baby, c'mere."
the name fell from his lips like sweet relief.
it suddenly occurred to the boy that you needed him. desperately so. something as simple as calling you by your first name had thrown off your entire day. carl should have been worried, concerned even. instead, his heart fluttered a little.
you truly did rely on him.
with a sigh of relief, you found yourself crawling up to the boy. today had been so long with you being in your own head so when you felt the feeling of his hands sneak around your waist, it was like coming home after a long day at work.
you couldn't see his face but if you could, you'd see the sheer nervousness on his face. he needed to control himself but he wasn't sure how that was possible while you cuddled up against him beneath your bed sheets, clad in your pretty pale blue shorts and your white spaghetti strap top.
your knee was bent, extending over the top of his legs. there was a sharp intake of breath as your knee gently bumped against the prominent bulge in his shorts. you hadn't noticed, he knew you hadn't noticed and to make sure you wouldn't notice, he reached over to switch off the light, clearing his throat. "so, uh, what are we watching?"
"the princess frog." you answered, turning your head up to look at his face as he groaned.
a look of displeasment was evident on his face. "it's so boring!" he practically gushed.
offence hit you like a truck. "excuse me!" you battled. "i'd like to see you opening up your own restaurant all by yourself." even carl had to admit, you got him there.
carl never understood why you picked movies that you fell asleep so early during.
he heard your soft snores and your gentle breath hit the crook of his neck within the first half hour of the movie. though he couldn't blame you. truthfully, he could only blame himself in how he had your head messed up, practically knocked off your shoulders for the entire day.
it took until almost a full hour into the movie for you to stur.
at first, carl thought he'd misheard it. a little noise falling from your lips. then, he heard it again.
he held his breath as he heard the whimper leave your lips.
then, he felt it.
the gentle roll of your hips against his thigh had him practically seeing stars. the boy glanced to the tv hoping for some kind of a distraction from his obvious hard on. he couldn't wake you up, not because he actually couldn't. but because he wasn't too sure if he wanted to.
admitting it sounded like nails on a chalkboard but he'd be lying if he said he did want to. the little whimper you let out, sleepily and lowly albeit, into his ear was enough for him to almost completely loose his control.
it was like he was dreaming, it was everything he'd dreamed of, especially the night before.
you sounded even better than he'd thought.
he shouldn't have laid so still. you weren't aware of the way your hips bucked onto his leg, a little whine stretching from your lips. he reminded himself that you were too busy sleeping to understand what was going on. he couldn't engage with you, that'd be wrong.
so... wrong.
then he'd swore he heard it. "carl." a mumble in your sleep, enough for him to not know whether or not you were actually sleeping. he took a glance at your face, eyes screwed shut.
he was imagining things, he had to have been.
you soon rolled over, leaving him laying very stiffly as he tried to wrap his head around what was happening.
you were having a wet dream, obviously. that'd never happened before, at least not while cuddled up against carl. but he could have swore he heard you say his name. he shook his head, knowing he was wrong, he was so caught up in what had happened the night before that he was imagining you breathe his name.
then, he heard it again.
this time it was more stretched out into a whine. due to the movie on in the background, he could vaguely make out the way your cunt rutted onto nothingness, the mattress maybe but it wasn't enough to cause any real friction.
his mind stirred. if you really were having a dream about him, surely it was only his duty to... help?
but it was dirty, downright perverted.
but your noises were growing needier, obviously the bed wasn't enough for you to create real friction from. he had to help you. "poor girl, can't even get herself off." he mumbled under his breath, not enough to wake you up.
if he were to touch you, it wouldn't be for him. no, he was doing this for you.
he knew you well enough to know you wouldn't wake. on the contrary, you'd sleep through an asteroid should it hit your home.
he reached his hand down beneath the covers, holding his breath. he was helping you, he reminded himself, helping you. this was for you, making sure you felt good as your dream continued. your dream of him.
suddenly, he wasn't the all too dirty one. perhaps you were.
his fingers gently felt the core of your shorts, taking an intake of breath upon feeling just how wet you were. it practically seeped onto his fingers, it was a wonder if his sweatpants didn't have a wet stain on them from how you'd been rolling your hips against them.
he breathed in, gently massaging the area you needed him the most, you all but moaned into the pillow, eyes screwed shut.
carl had dreamed of this moment for as long as he lived, he wasn't ready to give it up just yet.
the way your hips jutted into his hand, creating all the friction you needed and you whimpered again, still stuck in slumber, had carl's confidence through the roof.
it was as if saying his name, he realised you wanted it just as much as he did.
how he ended beneath the covers, he wasn't too sure. perhaps it was the newfound confidence he'd gained.
he'd spent too long dreaming of this moment to stop now. he breathed as shallow as a man could before his fingers travelled back to your shorts, gently pulling them away from your aching cunt. that was when he realised you hadn't been wearing panties. did you do that often around him? had you been... expecting something?
nonetheless, carl was more than willing to give it to you.
his breath fanned your pussy, prettier than his sick mind could have ever mustered. the image would be burned into his head, it'd never leave. one thing was for sure, this boy wasn't leaving the next morning without putting his mouth to your cunt.
and that was exactly what he did.
his tongue reached your pussy, licking a long stripe and feeling your thighs jump and your body jolt. obviously, never been touched.
he knew it'd be him who touched you first. now, it was just him making sure of it.
he licked again, your wetness gathering on his tongue. he tried to hold back the groan that spread throughout your entire body. yet, you still lay sleeping. it somehow only egged him on further. he knew you wouldn't wake. to him, your body was his for the taking. and he was going to take it.
his tongue found your cute hole, hands against your thighs, holding them, trapping them down.
tongue dancing across your clit, he heard you moan even louder, still trapped by slumber. his lips curved upwards, tongue circling your clit. he moved one of his hands, using his middle finger to gently slide into your sopping hole. so wet for him, already.
he cursed enid and ron for thinking they knew you. he cursed all of the people who thought they knew you. the truth was, the only person you could ever rely on would be him, he'd make sure that you got what you needed, make sure all your needs were fulfilled at all times. perhaps this was just him making sure of that fact.
his tongue moved away from your clit, moving his other hand to meet it. he saw the way your body writhed against his hands. he couldn't wait to do this when you were awake.
it wasn't until your thighs actually began to shake that he knew what was happening. "s'pretty." he mumbled, dazed as drool practically dripped from his mouth. you truly were, the most beautiful thing he'd ever encountered his entire life.
mouth moving back to your cunt, he moved his tongue back against your clit at an alarming pace. with his now free hand, he held your thighs down, trapping them under him as your body shook against him, jutting your hips back and practically rolling your hips against his face. he relished in it. you were practically getting off to his pretty face which told him all the more just how much you loved this.
he felt your hips force themselves back to the bed, shaking and vibrating until your juices poured out onto his tongue.
you'd came.
he lapped you up without second thought, tongue dancing over your hole and licking the juices off the single finger he'd pushed inside of you.
licking his lips, he finally rose. he watched your face lull in your sleep, obviously content and finally getting your sweet relief. he gently moved your shorts to cover your pussy again, as if nothing had happened at all.
it took mere seconds for you to roll back over and onto him, cuddling against his side. he couldn't help but feel even dirtier.
you'd never even know.

Congrats on 2k!!!!
For the request I was wondering if you could do the ASL boys confessing to their childhood friend that they've had a crush on:) and if it's not too much could you add shanks as well?? It's okay if not!
I love your writing it's the best just make sure you're taking care of yourself!! <3
A/N: Some of these are kind of subtle, but I think subtle is their way of confessing after that long :)  Characters: gn reader x Ace, Sabo, Luffy, Shanks CW: Marineford spoilers Total word count: 873
From Friends to Lovers
Ace
“She looks like your type,” you mumbled, nudging Ace. A girl at the end of the bar had been eyeing him all night.
“And how do you know my type?” Ace asked, raising his eyebrow at you. He was slurring his words just slightly; enough for you to know he was drunk.
“Please. We’ve been friends forever, and we’ve sailed together for two years. I know what kind of girls you go for.” You laughed, pushing down the jealousy that churned in your stomach.
“You must not,” Ace said, leaning his head against you. "I'll stay right where I am."
“Go talk to her,” you urged. “It’s not doing you any good being by my side.”
He frowned at you. “What do you mean? I’m already sitting next to the hottest person in the bar.”
You rolled your eyes and gave him a playful shove.
“I’m serious.” He had a newfound urgency in his voice. “You’re the only one for me. You’ve always been the only one for me.”
Your heart skipped a beat. There was no way he could be serious right now. He was drunk and stupid.
He saw the bewilderment on your face and gave you a goofy grin. “Are you just now realizing I’m head over heels for you?! I thought I had made that obvious from day one!”
Sabo
You stared at the man before you, unsure how to react. He looked like Sabo. He definitely acted like Sabo. Even his name was Sabo. But it had to be a coincidence.
“No,” you said. “Sabo died. Sabo died a long time ago.”
“There was this one winter day where we went sledding,” he said. “We raced Ace and Luffy down the hill a hundred times. They kept trying to beat us, but they never could. And then Dadan made us go inside and gave us hot chocolate and let us all sleep together in one big bed that night because it was so cold. I said it was the best day ever because we got to spend it together.”
Tears filled your eyes as he spoke. “You died,” you whispered again.
You were talking to a ghost. You were afraid any moment you’d wake up and be left alone again. Just like when he had died. Just like when Ace had died, and Luffy had disappeared.
“I lost my memories from the head injury and was taken in by the Revolutionary Army. I only remembered after I saw the headlines about…”
“Ace,” you whispered, tears spilling over. It still hurt to think about.
“I’ll never leave you again,” he promised. “Come back with me to the Revolutionary Army. We’ll keep you safe. I want to hear about everything.”
“Sabo-”
“Please,” he begged. “I know I just remembered you, but my heart has ached every moment we’ve been apart. I just found you again and I’m starting to feel whole. Please-please don’t leave yet.”
Luffy
“Heeeeeeyyyyyyy!!!!” Luffys voice rang out from above you, and you instinctually braced yourself.
He slammed into you, sending the both of you falling to the ground. You screamed out in glee as rubber arms wrapped around you, holding you tight.
“It’s been a while, Luffy!”
“I can’t believe it’s really you!” He shouted. “What are you doing here?”
“This is my home, idiot!” You laughed, trying to squirm out from under him.
Moving away from his grip was proving to be quite difficult though, considering Luffy’s body weight was on top of you, his arms still tightly around you to prevent you from moving.
“Your home was Windmill Village. I’ve missed you since you left.”
Tears filled your eyes, and you suddenly enjoyed his closeness “I missed you too, Luffy.”
“Sail with me and my crew,” he said, pulling away slightly to look in your eyes, begging you with his big, dark eyes. “I want you to join me.”
You raised your eyebrow. “I have a life here, Luffy. I can’t-“
“Make a life with me!” He whined. “Come on!!”
“You still want to be King of the Pirates?”
“I can only do it with you by my side.”
Shanks
A red-haired man sat down next to you in the bar, glancing your way.
“Come here often?” he asked, sliding your favorite beer over to you.
“Only in town for the week.” A smile danced across your lips. “My pain in the ass captain has us on a tight schedule.”
Your heart skipped a beat at his jolly laugh, the room brightening as his voice echoed through it.
“He sounds like tough work,” Shanks said, wiping a tear from his eye.
“He is!” You took a long drink of your beer. “I’ve been sailing with him my whole life, I think I would know.”
He smirked. “And you’re not tired of him yet?”
“Nah,” you chuckled. “I could never get tired of you.”
Your words caught up with your brain, and your cheeks turned a deep pink at the realization of what you had said.
“Good, because I’ll never get tired of you either. ” Shanks gave you a softy, gentle smile and cupped your cheek with his hand. “So you’re stuck with me for the rest of time, okay? You’re all mine.”
“Of course, Captain.”

When you were seven, a boy a few years older than you – perhaps two or three – passed you by on a Taiko-bashi in a small village. You remember him as the boy with peculiar eyes and white hair who looked back at you on the bridge. In your eyes, it was a very ordinary encounter with a very extraordinary looking stranger.
But in his infinitely blue eyes, there was ingrained a more meaningful and vivid memory of that encounter. He held it very close to his heart. When you and he made that brief eye contact as he looked behind his shoulder, slowing at his mother’s side, he felt a windswept, lovestruck feeling come over him. He batted his pretty lashes at you and stopped walking for a fleeting moment, as if captivated, and then went his separate way with the image of your face burned into the forefront of his mind. His kimono fluttered as he tended to walk in a gliding manner.
When you were fourteen, the same encounter happened again. A familiarly pale face with barely grown-in features looked back at you – his whole body felt a twinge of excitement. He only took one small moment to look at you and yet knew you were the same girl he saw as a child on this very same bridge.
Years went by, and the two of you kept encountering each other at peculiar times in your lives at that same bridge. Neither of you spoke to each other once, well, you didn’t say a word – but he uttered a few boyishly desperate greetings and even bowed as he glided past you to try and get your attention. If only you would have stopped for a chat, the poor boy would have given anything for that.
In some way, it felt like the two of you knew each other, though it was only your eyes that ever talked.
Come your eighteenth birthday, you were burdened with awful news. You were to be married to a man you had never met – someone from the Gojo clan. That person was apparently fatally sick with a disease you had scarce knowledge on. You asked your friend at the time, her name you’ve long forgotten by now, about Hanahaki and all she said was;
“Your lover is going to spit flowers in your face.”
You scrunched your nose up in disgust and confusion at this. A very silly image formed in your mind about the disease ever since your old friend had said that – all you could imagine was your future husband spitting saliva-wettened, half-destroyed flowers at your face.
The Gojo family and your family had always distantly known each other, hence all the visits to the village that they resided in. Your marriage to Gojo was long-debated throughout the years – yet neither you nor him knew anything about it. Neither of you prospected marriage, you were just the two strangers that passed each other on the Taiko-bashi every time the Sakura was in bloom.
The first time you and the son of the Gojo clan were introduced, it had already begun with a rocky start. You walked in when he had been overwhelmed with a coughing fit, and you were hushed back outside. The shoji door smacked shut behind you, and you heard sickly coughs piercing through the translucent sheets. When your future husband stopped coughing, and the blood and petals were cleaned up, you were brought back into the room. There were both your families and some important-looking officials in the large room, all formally sat on the tatami mats with mixed expressions. His mother seemed delighted at the sight of your face – but not more than her son.
Gojo Satoru, an eighteen-year-old at the time, with usually such a loud mouth and good joke up his sleeve, was rendered speechless when you had walked into the room. He analysed and absorbed every feature that made up the image of what he thought was the most charming and alluring creature ever to exist. Definitely a creature, he thought as you formally bowed with him, because no human could possess such an ethereal beauty.
Satoru was intrigued by you from your encounter on the Taiko-bashi, but when he was finally introduced to you he was utterly captivated.
The reasons and conditions for your marriage with the Gojo clan’s prodigal son conflicted with your strong beliefs in love and romance. You had rather aggressively told the poor boy your opinions in the days leading up to your wedding.
“I always thought,” you emphasized with a snotty tone, yet he listened to you like one would listen to the tranquil flow of the river under the Taiko-bashi, “that I would marry someone I loved, and not be forced to love…” you seemed so disappointed with how your life was turning out, that he couldn’t help but feel a bit bad for you.
“I’m a positive person, I have faith that you’ll fall in love with me in no time.” He said cheekily and winked at you. You felt very taken aback by such straight-forward flirting – you must understand, no boys in your village ever did that. They were very proper, even reserved.
He was almost charming in that instant, but then he added; “Who wouldn’t fall in love with me?”
At the time he was so full of himself that you could hardly believe there was space for any petals in his body. But there certainly was – when you left him alone in that room and stormed off, appalled by his conceit, he clutched the side of the door frame and coughed up little pink petals – enough to comprise three whole flowers.
It started worrying him, a few days before the wedding, when he started coughing more often. And not just that, but he started coughing up more petals than he had ever in his life. The peculiar disease had started during a time in his childhood that was coincidentally very close to the time he first passed you by on the bridge.
The night before the wedding, he laid in bed and brooded. And he was never the type to brood – he let life happen and moved on relatively easily. But he brooded, and brooded until it felt like he sunk so deep into his futon that he became one with it. The ceiling blurred.
What was going to happen if you didn’t fall in love?
That thought scared him so much that he violently drove it out of his mind and replaced it with an ideal daydream; he envisioned you and him cuddled up, bracing each other’s bodies, and melting into each other like real lovers do. He imagined you would be warmer than him, with that cool touch he had, and you would also stroke his hair. It was very fluffy, he made sure to point that out to you several times – but you never took a hint.
On the day of your wedding, he snuck to meet you just before the ceremony. He was crouched in the garden outside the room that you were preparing in. It’s then when he heard you voice your feelings to whoever it was helping you get ready.
“How can I love a stranger? And anyways, he is so full of himself, I can hardly believe there’s space for any flowers in there. There’s nothing I like about him.”
“Oh, Y/n, you have yet to learn about him. I’m sure you will find he’s rather charming. He is the pride of the Gojo clan, after all – he has the Six Eyes and Limitless. He’s the strongest, he’ll always be able to protect you – ”
It sounded like the woman talking about him was your mother, with how she praised him so much. She was right, Gojo thought; he could protect you from anything.
His expression was grave after hearing your thoughts. But he put on a lightened smile and masked his slight heartbrokenness when the rituals and main ceremony commenced.
It was a very formal, rigid ceremony. Gojo looked up at you sadly a few times, wishing you would spare a glance. He brooded on the idea that you’ll never love him like he loves you, and then a sickening, ticklish feeling spread in his throat and just as the closing ritual ended, he burst into a coughing fit – one of his worst yet. A bit of blood dribbled out his flushed lips, contrasting against his pale skin. Of course you were concerned – and of course you felt the urge to help and comfort him. But those feelings were purely out of the goodness of your heart.
Friends share love. But even when you and Gojo developed something resembling a friendship, it didn’t alleviate his disease. It was embarrassing sometimes, to realize that you were failing at the one thing you had to do; and that was keep him alive.
He was quite genuinely dying for you to love him.
Yet you refused to be in the same room as him for too long. Your mother had to encourage you. Eventually, both his family and your family worked together to make sure you and Gojo spent adequate time with each other. They organized meetups ranging from fancy nights-out to long voyages to weekend sleepovers. It was comical, how your families got along more smoothly than you and Gojo.
It’s the spring of his nineteenth birthday when the thought of kissing you becomes a reality. Well, it doesn’t go as he planned it. See, Gojo envisioned that kissing you would solve all his problems – he thought he could infect you with his love, somehow worm into your heart through a passionate kiss.
So when you and him sat for tea in a spacious room, kneeled side by side on the tatami mats, he went in for a kiss. You were distractedly straightening out your kimono when suddenly a pair of inexperienced, boyish lips crashed onto yours.
“Mmf!” you reacted with sheer shock – why on earth was he kissing you? The audacity, he had just insulted and made a mockery of you with a cheeky, playful attitude.
“Satoru!” you whined into his mouth.
He cupped the back of your neck and partly entangled his hands in your hair. White lashes sat pretty as he closed his eyes and glided his wettened lips over yours. For the briefest moment, you let yourself enjoy his kiss. But suddenly, as if your principles of love kicked back in and stomped on the moment, you shoved him away.
And a hard shove that was, he fell out of balance and landed on the mats with his elbows, a look of shock and surprise twisting into comedy.
“Playing hard to get?” he joked. His heart sunk ever so slightly at your rejection.
“You can’t just kiss a girl!”
“Come on, I’m your husband – if I can’t kiss you, then who is allowed to?” he asked.
You looked furious, like you were about to bite him, so he slowly started backtracking.
“I just wanted to see if kissing you would – ”
“How dare you, that was my first kiss! I thought I would have a cute first kiss, not a hasty one shared over… over a cup of tea!” you complained.
His expression changed and he started sputtering apologies. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know – I – ahuh!” he started lightly coughing.
And now it was your turn to feel apologetic, because all the bad tension between you and him brought on another violent coughing fit for him.
“I’m okay.” He choked out, eyes water and face reddened – some blood pooled at the corners of his lips, he instinctually brought his hand up to his mouth to catch any that dripped.
You rushed and kneeled over him, placing a much-needed soothing hand on his shoulder. “Satoru, I’m sorry.”
He tried to muster up a joke to lighten your worry, “H-hey, since when d’you call me S-Satoru? I thought it was strictly Go-jo.” he was interrupted by more coughing.
You comforted him, until his parents came into the room. They seemed disappointed with you, but masked it.
The night fell heavy all around the Gojo home. The barren Sakura trees’ branches subtly shook in the wind. A storm was approaching.
“Hey, sweetlips.” Gojo slipped into your room as you were in the middle of preparing for bed. “There’s a big storm comin’, if you get scared you can sleep with me.”
“Are you out of your mi-” you shut up when a sudden, extraordinary crack of lightning sounded and shocked you right out of your skin.
Gojo had a little laughing fit at your overreaction. He was completely calm at such a loud noise. Of course he was.
“I’m not sleeping with you!” you muttered angrily, but then you saw the dejection on his face – no, rather, you saw the way he tried to conceal it, and you felt bad.
Maybe tonight is the night you’ll try harder, you thought.
“Okay, well, don’t cry like a wimp if the thunder scares you ‘cause I won’t come running to soothe you.” He said and left you alone.
When he walked down the hall, his fingers grazed over his lips. All he could think about was how blissful it felt to kiss you, even if you did reject him. And he was your first kiss – maybe it was wrong to smile over that, but he couldn’t help himself as he climbed into the comforts of his bed.
A violent rainstorm engulfed the village.
As the lightning got more frequent and more terrifying, Gojo scrunched up his shoulders and half-hid his face under his blanket. He felt like a boy again, as scared of the thunderstorms as he was when he was seven years old. His pretty upturned nose peaked over the blanket, eyes glistening with tears as he recalled the fateful day you and him encountered each other at the Taiko-bashi.
He held onto that memory with a death grip. No one else ever had the honor of being so close to his heart, not even his best friend who he had made at Jujutsu high when he was seventeen. No, that heart of his he kept reserved for you. He thought to himself that night, while curling up on his side in pain, that even if he dies, at least he would die having been able to love you – albeit without reciprocation.
And then it happened. He shot up and let out a violent cough, and began spluttering over his white blanket. The thunderstorm was so violent that it muffled even the violent coughing in his room. His head felt like a dense ball of tension.
Unrequited love for many boys his age was heartbreaking, but not deadly. He morbidly laughed at that fact, observing the flower that he had thrown up onto his blanket, soaked in his blood.
He was dying.
He defeatedly closed his eyes, breathing through his blood-glistening mouth. His chest lightly heaved. “Y/n, you’re really gonna be the death of me… ah, oh well. That’s okay.” He muttered madly to himself and fell back onto his bed, too weak to stay awake any longer.
It was probably the work of the universe, but you floated down the unlit hall and tapped at Gojo’s doorframe. “Are you awake? Satoru?” you called his name in a gentle murmur.
There was an eerie silence. You slid open the door and caught a glimpse of bloodied sheets and a mangled-looking flower.
“Satoru!” you rushed over to him, stirring him awake with a harsh shake on his arm. “Satoru? Are you okay? Can you hear me?”
He groaned weakly – you felt a small relief. He wasn’t dead, though he really looked pale enough to be. His cheeks were flushed, his lips cracked and dry with residual blood.
Not a word you spoke sounded coherent to him though it was, all he heard was the soothing qualities in your voice. Though his vision was blurred, he knew it was you, because he felt the familiar air and scent of you.
He felt a strange sort of alleviation when you cupped his cheeks, murmuring something. Oh, when did he end up in a doctor’s room, laid on a patient’s cot? Weren’t you and him just in his bedroom at night, during a loud thunderstorm?
All he recalled was that you held his hand and squeezed it for a long time, while you were travelling somewhere. He remembered feeling your comforting presence each time his consciousness stirred.
“Have I died and gone to heaven?” he chuckled jokingly, feeling your lips press to his forehead.
“Huh?”
“Probably dreaming…” he muttered to himself.
“Satoru, you’re not in heaven you’re at Doctor Tanaka’s home.” You told him.
He pinched his eyes shut, overwhelmed by his afflicting sickness and Six Eyes.
“I’m so sorry…” he heard you speaking in a more tender voice to him than you ever had before. He felt the pressure in his chest lessen as you spoke, “… I was going to come to you because the thunderstorm scared me… no, actually, because I wanted to be with you. I felt this overwhelming urge to be at your side, and I don’t know why. Satoru, I’ve been such a fool. I’ve been such a scared fool, fearful of loving a stranger. Or, no, I guess I’ve feared loving someone I’m not supposed to be loving. You’re so special I feel driven away by it. But I promise I won’t flee from your love anymore, Satoru – I love you, and I’ll express it as much as I can in this feeble human form. The rest of our love will happen in the stars, after we die, I guess.”
He opened his eyes. It felt like the burdening fog that had been plaguing him since he was a little boy on the Taiko-bashi finally cleared. Everything felt fresh and sharp, and good and properly comforting. It felt like he had woken up from a long dream or arrived home from a harrowing journey through the landscapes of his mind.
“So you can be good with your words.” Was the first thing he said, and that was such a Gojo response that you knew he was okay.
“How do you feel?” you asked him, peering down at him.
He groaned and stretched and shifted around, fussing dramatically.
“I feel…” he began, and looked over at your lips. “Like I deserve to be kissed.”
“Oh, shut up you…”
He pouted. “Okay, ‘guess the kissing can wai- mmf!”
You kissed him very quickly and recoiled from shyness. His lips were divine.
He shot up out of the bed like he couldn’t just believe what happened.
“Wow.” He blinked at you. “So gutsy, you know you’re not allowed to kiss your husband!” he joked.
“You are such a – ”
“ – good kisser?”
“An idiot!” you giggled, genuinely enjoying his company.
The two of you bantered, basking in the newfound feeling of shared love. When the doctor came back in, he was preparing to witness the worst – but he was utterly surprised and at a loss for words when he walked in on you two smiling and laughing.
And it was the talk of the village. Neighbors gossiped, “Did you hear that Gojo Satoru is cured?” they spoke amongst themselves, “I heard! Apparently it’s a very romantic love story, did you read the newspaper article?”
You and Gojo drifted down the Taiko-bashi, together. He squeezed your hand when you set foot on the bridge, the cool skin of his wrist tickling your inner wrist as they pressed together.
“What are we doing here?” you asked him confusedly.
“Don’t you know this place? It’s the place we met.”
“Ooh, you’re romantic, huh?” you smirked.
A small blush crowned his cheeks.
“I’ve been romantic since the start.” He defended.
“What d’you mean! You were so cheeky!” you kicked his leg.
“I was quite a menace, I’m sorry – not sorry – kidding, kidding, I am sorry.”
He looked at you with a cheeky smirk, knowing damn well what you were talking about.
“You know…” he began, looking over the bridge at the river flowing beneath and admiring how the stream carried the Sakura blossoms. “Whenever I used to get coughing fits – bad ones – I would soothe myself with the memory of when we first met here. I can still recall the kimono you wore, and the Sakura that got tangled in your hair – and I thought about…” he came closer to you, speaking with a charming allure, “How badly I wanted to pluck that flower from your hair.”
You blinked up at him. How could such romantic words come out of him? You didn’t know how to respond.
“Ooh, did I make you shy?” he teased.
“No…”
“I totally made you shy. That’s so sweet. Are you blushing?” he giggled, putting his cool palm up to your cheek to feel the heat, “Oh, you’re blushing blushing. You could burn my hand right off.”
“Satoru!” you giggled.
“Ah!” he clutched his chest dramatically when you said his name, “Don’t say my name like that! I have a wife.” He joked.
“You are ridiculous!”
He gave you a big, toothy smile. “But you love me for it.”
“I do.” You tell him, and though he’s heard it many times after that day, each time feels like the first time you’re saying you love him.
“Gimme a kiss.” He asks.
“Come get it.” You tease, slowly backing away off the bridge.
“Seriously? You’re gonna make me chase you for a kiss? I’ve coughed up petals because of you, ‘n you’re gonna do me like this – heyyy! Get back here!”
Running into the petal-littered streets like carefree kids felt so freeing and exhilarating. He felt like he was catching up on all the fun he missed, if only you would have lived in his village as a child or visited more often.
“Got you!”
“Ah! Jesus, you scared – mmmf!”
He didn’t hesitate to take a much-needed kiss from your quivering lips. He kissed you so hard that you felt dizzied, lost for breath, rendered speechless. And he relished the love pouring out from you.
You stood there being kissed by your husband in a quaint alley, standing tiptoed on the Sakura blossom-littered ground to meet him halfway. Gojo’s heart thumped at the smallest things, like the fact you were standing on your tiptoes – that was the cutest thing in the world to him.
The two of you took a break for breath, and silently admired the Sakura blossoms as they drifted, being swept away by the wind.
Gojo looked at them, and looked at you, and thought of everything that had happened up until now. He was about to say something lovey-dovey but blurted out a dumb joke instead just to hear your laugh.
“Damn, I used to cough up those things.”
You laughed, “Your jokes aren’t good, Satoru.”
“But you laughed.” He said cockily.
“Shut up or I will never kiss you again.” You playfully threatened.
“You don’t mean it.” He tilted his head at you. You cracked a smile.
On the walk home, he kept calling you various nicknames – all flowers.
That day became a cherished memory of the past as the two of you weaved your way into proper adulthood. And the nicknames followed; he went through the whole flower alphabet, even the bizarrely named ones, even the Latin root names. When he wanted to annoy you, he’d call you prunus subgenus cerasus.
Now Gojo fusses around the living room of his tiny Tokyo apartment, preparing food for a little boy of the name Megumi. The day is full and busy, but any second he can get with you, he relishes.
“My tulip, 'gimme a kiss.” He asks.
“Come get it.” You tease.
“Ew.” Megumi grimaces, hearing this exchange right as he walks into the kitchen. He walks right back out.
“Gumi, get back here, food is almost ready.” Gojo calls after him, then leans down to try and kiss you but you playfully dodge him.
It always happens like that – he asks for a kiss, you refuse jokingly, he chases after you for a kiss and you scamper away. Like a running joke that’s a callback to your past.
“C’mere, you – ” he finally snatches you up, too needy for a kiss to play around anymore. “Stay right there and let me kiss you.”
He enjoys every second of kissing you, embracing you tight like he’s never letting go. Just like when he first kissed you, Gojo cups the back of your neck and tilts his head to deepen the kiss. It has you breathless, gasping – he’s so alluring that you shudder.
“Satoru!” you scold, “The food will get cold…” you excuse.
“Okay, okay. But you owe me extra kisses tonight.” He winks.
“You’ll have to get them out of me yourself.” You tease.
“Oh, I will, don’t you worry. I’ll take every little kiss I can.” He says determinedly.
He pecks at your lips, savoring the sound and feeling of the act.
“Ew!” Megumi grimaces, and walks out the kitchen just as he walks in like earlier.
“Gumi! Food! Sit-your-silly-butt-and-eat! You rascal you.” Gojo lifts him by the armpits, and tickles him like a real dad.
Megumi is poker-faced at the tickling.
“Y/n, tell Gojo he’s being annoying.”
“Husband, you’re being annoying.” You murmur up at Gojo.
“Am I?” he smiles down at you, giving you another cheeky peck.
Megumi sighs.
“Stop spyin’ and start eating, little lotus.” Gojo threatens playfully.
“Dad. Save the flower nicknames for Y/n.” Megumi scrunches his nose up.
Gojo's face lit up. “Okay, okay. Enjoy eating, I'm gonna go see where she went off to.”
He hurried into the bedroom where you had wandered into and excitedly whisper-shouted “He called me dad!” he gushed like he was the happiest man alive.

reason
pairing: tara carpenter & female reader
summary: you didn't have a reason for it, except tara was the reason.
words: 2.3k
warnings: violence, ghostface, gore, language, sensitive topics.
Tumblr media
Her heart was pounding, legs shaking, breath hitched and voice trembling.
Tara was frightened, terrified.
Everything had happened so fast.
First Quinn had died, shortly after Anika was gone. Then Ethan and Mindy got left behind, being forced to take another train.
Now it was just her, Sam, Chad, Kirby and you. And four people would've been enough to fight the killers, technically.
However, now both Chad and you were gone.
Tara didn't know where you were, and it was starting to worry her. What if you were dead?
Oh god, she wouldn't be able to live with herself if you were. Especially not since the last conversation she had with you ended so acrimoniously.
She knew why it did, and she knew it was entirely her fault. But she was going to make it okay again, she was going to be better. For you.
Although Tara also knew that there wasn't any ways to make it better. Not at all.
Tara felt totally unreasonable. Disgusted with herself.
She couldn't reverse the situation or turn back the clock on what had occurred. She couldn't change what happened. Not even the slightest.
She couldn't even change the thoughts of remorse and guilt that had been rotting in her head for days. What made her think she could change the situation?
Tara did cheat. And you saw it. She couldn't change that.
She couldn't change the way you ran out of the apartment before Tara had the chance to open her mouth. She couldn't change the fact that you hadn't spoken to her ever since she chased you down the street.
She couldn't change anything. And it was hurting her to bits.
"Kirby stop!" The fiddling with a gun brought Tara out of her own thoughts, "Get away from the girls."
Tara could feel her lips shaking out of fear. Legs almost too wobbly to stand. Her mind was too fuzzy she could barely focus on the conversation between Kirby and Bailey.
All she could find herself thinking about was you. The look on your face when you had seen Tara on top of Chad. The tears that were flushing down when she made eye contact with you.
The way you were probably dead right now.
It wasn't until Ghostface popped up behind Bailey that Tara finally got pulled into the moment, the thoughts about you being pushed aside as she heard the gunshots towards Kirby.
Bailey shot Kirby. In the shoulder. Twice. Making her fall to the ground in an instant.
Strangled gasps escaped from both of the sisters, their glances turning to Bailey and the masked killer next to him.
"Great job" Baileys raspy voice spoke proudly as he lowered the gun to his side. "Both of you" he finished as another Ghostface walked up behind him.
That was when it all clicked for Sam and Tara. There had been three of them? The entire time?
Tara's mouth couldn't help but move before she could think." You?" Her voice laced with nothing but disgust and betrayal.
Bailey grimaced, acting like this was some kind of fun, sick joke. "Yeah, Of course me."
Her mouth was left open out in aghast. Bailey would've been the absolute last person Tara would've excepted, and it seemed to be that way for Sam as well.
In fact, even Anika would've been a better suspect than him.
"Frankly, I expected more from the two of you after what you did to us."
And even though Tara felt so incredibly lost and confused at the moment, the sentence made it possible for her to become even more bewildered.
Sam didn't say a word, her figure just showed that she was breathing heavily in the corner of Tara's eye, either to calm herself down or because she was feeling suffocated by all the overwhelming emotions.
"What do you mean 'us'?"
At that, the person standing on the right side of the detective pulled of the hood, tugging off the mask shortly after with the gloved covered hand.
When the mask had arrived off, Ethan was revealed.
Ethan Landry.
The dorky guy that screamed like a girl whenever scary movies was shown, stumbled over his own feet while walking or always rambled about stuff nobody actually cared about.
Tara felt the need to laugh, she actually didn't think the boy could hurt a fly even if he had to. But her face remained frozen, it didn't dare to move.
Ethan had a proud, big smile on his face, like he had really accomplished something. Tara wanted to punch his face for looking so smug.
He had been anything but slick with it all. Technically everyone in the group had been suspecting him at least once, perhaps not Anika, but she hadn't blamed anyone.
"Mindy was right." He spoke as if it was funny. But in reality it was ridiculous. Mindy was never right about anything when it came to the killers, not a single right last time, which was precisely why nobody believed her now either.
Which was why the fact that Mindy was right made Ethan look nothing else but foolish.
"It was easy to juke the roommate lottery." He continued, probably expecting a response from any of the sisters. But Sam's mouth seemed to be just as unable to move as Tara's.
"I mean all I had to do to meet you? Was room with a conceited, condescending alpha, literally named Chad. Fuck, it felt good to kill him."
Tara felt her breath hitch for a second, swallowing hard enough to make head turns.
Chad was dead?
Although before Tara had the chance to speak or ask anything she was going to regret, Ethan spoke up again, this time with his Ghostface mask raised in his hand.
He spoke about how it was Sam's grandmothers, how it ran in the family; nothing Sam hadn't heard before. Tara either for that matter, and she couldn't care less. Sam wasn't a killer. Tara knew that.
"Talking of family." He voiced again, the smug smile never leaving his features.
"Wait for it!" Bailey interrupted milliseconds after.
The two of them were smiling like absolute maniacs, like they were waiting for a well known jump scare in a movie.
"My name's not Ethan Landry.. is it dad?"
"Dad?" Tara spoke up in utter disgust. Shame filling her veins for not noticing that sooner. But how could she? They looked nothing like.
It was impossible to try and find any similarities between them now, looking at them made Tara feel the need to throw up.
The way they were laughing and smiling big, the way Bailey was stroking Ethan's hair like he had a reason to be proud of him.
"Wait.. If its you two that just leaves.." Sam spoke for the first time since the reveal.
The third and final killer turned their masked face to Sam, curious to see who she'd guess. "Mindy?"
Tara felt goosebumps form on her whole body at the guess. Was it really?
Both Bailey and Ethan turned their head eagerly to watch the reveal, even though there was no doubt they already knew who it was.
Hood off.
Glove covered hand up. Grabbing the chin of the mask. Pulling it off.
There it was.
The hair and face Tara had seen a million times before, the features she admired so deeply. The eyes that met hers, that used to be filled with light. Now looked empty.
It was you.
Under the mask. It was you.
Tara felt like her heart stopped. But at the same time she could hear it beating like it was placed next to her eardrum.
You smirked as you could hear Tara let out a sob. Sam gulped heavily at the sight of you in the dark robe.
"Hello Tara." Your voice sounded sweet, like a whispering breeze. It made Tara want to crumble to her knees.
"Didn't see that one coming did you?"
Tara's lips were quivering too much for her to reply.
But of course she didn't see that coming. You were her girlfriend. Were.
Ringing covered her ears, blocking out everything else that left Bailey's mouth, making it all inaudible.
All she could do was follow your figure as you walked behind the glass boxes of souvenirs. Holding up the mask, your mouth moved. But Tara couldn't make out what.
All she could focus on was all the questions that were raised in her head. Why would you do this? How long had you been a part of this?
Tara's mind was shutting out all of the conversations that was held between Bailey and her sister, Ethan adding stuff in between.
She was watching you instead. How your eyes looked nothing like they once did. How your knife was directed towards her, almost ready to stab her whenever you got the chance.
Her mind was fuzzy, and she felt as if she couldn't focus on anything besides you.
You were walking closer. Too close for Tara's liking, but she couldn't find herself moving. Her legs straight up refused.
When the top of the knife was in faith contact with her chin, you stopped. Same as Ethan had done with Sam. Nothing Tara paid any attention to.
Instead she focused on clenching her jaw, trying to direct her head upwards. Although your voice startled her enough to stop.
"You look pretty with a knife like this." You spoke. "Maybe we should've done knife play more often." Your voice was hushed. As if nobody else was allowed to hear.
Normally it would've made Tara feel warm and comfortable. Now it made her eyes water even more.
"Although I guess you just would've used it for real huh?"
Tara gulped. She knew what you meant. She knew what you were referring to.
"You would've used it in the back right?" You spoke through gritted teeth. Making sure to remind Tara that the knife was still in your hand, pressed against her skin.
"Backstabbing cunt." You spit. Making Tara close her eyes, gulping yet again.
However when she opened them again, her eyes met yours. And she was surprised when she only saw sorrow in them, not a single thing in there showed malevolence or anger.
Tara couldn't help but plead and beg for forgiveness. Your eyes had that impact on her.
"Y/N I'm so sorry..Please- I - We can fix this." She stuttered out, way too much for her own good. "It doesn't have to happen like this."
She was trying to fix it. She didn't want to get her sister killed by you because of a decision she had made herself. A mistake she had made.
But she knew it was too late to solve things. The way your mouth smirked showed it more than enough. And Tara only made it worse by letting her mouth get the best of her.
"It was a mistake."
You felt the need to laugh, and you did. A cold hearted laugh escaped your lips. Your laugh was normally something Tara could listen to like music, like angel soft music. But this sound scared her.
"It wasn't a mistake. You know well enough it wasn't." You pressed the knife harder to her skin, millimeters away from drawing blood. "You knew it the second you chose to take of your clothes. Well enough kiss him."
And Tara knew that. She was completely aware of that.
Everything else became a blur. Everything had gone steeper downhill so fast that Tara couldn't process anything.
Maybe it was her foggy mind that didn't allow her to think straight. Maybe that's why she had lost her steady grip on the railing.
Sam had taken Ethan, and Tara had been forced to take you. Against her will.
Her mind was too focused on saving her sister that she didn't realize at what cost that might've been. She didn't realize that stabbing you meant killing you. She didn't realize that until it was too late.
She realized it when she had harshly impaled the knife in your mouth, twisting it seconds later. When your wide, beautiful eyes had stared up at her in shock. When your blood had splashed in her face. Your blood.
When your limp body fell to the floor. When she shook your shoulders, begging for you to wake up. Begging for you to forgive her.
Sam told Tara that it was for the best. That it was either you getting killed, or Tara herself. Tara tried listening, telling herself that it was for the better.
But there was just something about the way you laid there. The way the blood on your body was once used to fill your veins. The blood who once existed for your heart to pump.
Your heart, the most benevolent and thoughtful heart to ever exist. A heart that wouldn't hurt anyone, even if it was forced.
You weren't a killer. You didn't have a reason to kill. Except you did. She was the reason. Tara was the reason.
She had made you into a murderer. Tara was the reason for it.

Protection In Order
Pairings: Sam Carpenter x Pregnant! Reader
Content: Blood and injury, Protective Sam
Summary: Ghostface strikes again except Sam is more protective over you due to carrying her baby...
WC: 1948
Tumblr media
It had been 3 months since you met Sam, and 2 months since you got pregnant. At first, it was just a friends-with-benefits situation because Sam was scared of a relationship. In reality, she had a crush on you but was scared you’d become a bad person, a Ghostface. Once she knew you were pregnant however she immediately changed and made it official. If you were pregnant, you wouldn’t be able to be Ghostface she figured and that was proven in the third month of knowing you when multiple people were killed with Ghostface masks on the scene.
That made Sam keep around you. You were worried yourself, scared of your future. You held onto your stomach gently as you watched the news, Sam next to you. She had been attacked in the shop and ever since then, you were worried about her and everyone else. You didn’t even know who to trust now, you could only trust Sam. Now, you were all in the dorm except for Ethan who had a night class supposedly. You didn’t know if it was true but didn’t want to suspect him of lying. You liked him after all, he was… sweet in his own way.
Sam had an arm around you as she gently kissed your cheek, knowing you were nervous. “I will protect you, baby,” she spoke. She was gentle as she held you closer than ever, worried about your child as well. She kept rubbing your stomach as she watched Tara and Chad cook.
“I’m going to the bathroom baby,” you spoke with a soft smile, going over to the bathroom. Sam nodded. “Of course, I’ll go check on Tara,” she said, getting up and going to the kitchen. You went into Sam’s room, using her bathroom as you were thinking. After a few minutes, you walked out, seeing the 4 survivors in the kitchen. You decided to leave them to talk as they seemed to be talking about Danny calling Sam but you shrugged it off as you sat with Anika, who was just reading.
That’s when you heard moans coming from Quinn’s room. You couldn’t help but chuckle as you looked over, hoping she was having a good time even though they had just finished it seemed. Soon, however, the 4 came out. “Front door,” Sam announced, stepping in front of you. When you nearly reached it however the moaning stopped. “Ghostface is with her,” Sam spoke quietly to the others as you slowly backed up to the door. Soon however Quinn’s body was pushed into Anika. You froze in shock before Tara and Chad pushed you out the front door, presumably to help Sam not worry about you. You were more concerned about her now, but thinking the others would join in time you kept going and when they didn’t you were more concerned. Worst of all no one brought the front door key.
“My room!” Danny yelled from his doorway. You didn’t even think as you went in, Tara and Chad following nervously. He was holding a ladder, shouting across. That was when you realised it was Quinn’s room. Sam and Mindy were there, however. “Just climb across, I got your girlfriend,” he yelled across. Sam nervously looked at Mindy, who nodded at Sam to go first.
“Ok,” Sam finally conceded before she started to climb across nervously. She was scared of heights. “Come on baby,” you begged her to go faster. She looked over, into her eyes which made her quicker. She soon climbed through the window where Mindy started to climb after as well. Ghostface was slowly pushing the cupboard away slowly but surely. Once they were done though, he finally got through. He just glared before he started to walk out.
“Anika is dead,” Mindy cried out. You gently hugged her…
-
It was officially the trap time and Sam was more protective than usual, especially after Anika died. You were on the train as Sam was in front of you, Tara and Chad on your sides while Danny was behind. Mindy was with Ethan which you didn’t like though, you were assuming he was the killer after all. You couldn’t prove it though. You kept holding your stomach. When a person wearing a Ghostface outfit stared at you, that was when Sam got even taller and stood forward a bit.
When he passed though, she physically relaxed and looked at you. You just smiled and kissed her gently. “You’ll be a good mom,” Tara teased. Sam went bright red, as did you. “Thanks, T Bear,” Sam thanked.
You soon got out of the subway, meeting with Agent Kirby. “Hey, where’s Mindy?” Kirby asked, looking around at all of you.
“5 minutes away, she caught the other train,” Tara informed. Kirby nodded. “Come on,” she spoke and led you to the trap. She stopped you and Danny after however. “Woodsboro only,” she spoke.
“Understood,” Danny spoke with a nod. “My girlfriend is being with me, what if she gets attacked when we go inside?” Sam asked. Kirby sighed, knowing she would be protective over you due to you carrying her baby.
“Ok, only her,” Kirby spoke. Danny smiled at you all and nodded. “Be safe,” he spoke before leaving for the subway to help Mindy and Ethan when they would come.
You walked in nervous, Kirby talking about her only having the gun on her. You were following Sam around as she was holding you close. She was soon going over to the case. You knew she had seen Billy from the stare that she had, but you didn’t say anything. You accepted she still saw him. That’s when she went over to the statue, opened the door then reached inside, grabbing the rusty knife, still covered in old blood. “Are you sure?” you asked. “I want you to be safe,” Sam responded, kissing you. You nodded with a smile, but still unsure. You kept following her around before her phone rang. It was Detective Bailey. Sam was listening, putting it on speakerphone so you could hear as well.
“Hello,” Sam spoke.
“Sam, you need to get out of there! I learnt from the Atlanta Field Office that Kirby isn’t with the FBI anymore. Said she went mad,” Detective Bailey warned. You felt your anxiety spike. “Thank you for telling us,” Sam quickly spoke as she led you over to the trap where she saw the chain. “Shit,” she spoke and tugged on it, anger spiking up. “Stay close to me baby, I will protect you,” she spoke gently. You nodded, trusting her as you were nervous for everyone in there. Tara, Chad, Sam and you. Hell, even Kirby even if she was Ghostface. “Let’s find the others,” you spoke, looking at Sam. Sam nodded, agreeing. It was better to be in a group after all. You looked around the place, before going to the lobby. Starting to walk over, sudden screams were causing you to jump. That made you run over quickly, Sam in front as she soon saw what the cause was. It was Tara, safe and sound minus a wound near her spine and Chad who was being stabbed constantly. “Go, we have to go!” Sam yelled, dragging Tara as you ran away with them, Sam making you go in front due to the 2 Ghostface people being there. Tara was crying in pain. “The killer is Kirby!” Sam informed as they reached the main stage. “Are you sure?” Tara asked. “Yes! We are, Bailey called us,” you responded. Sam immediately jumped when Kirby came out, blood coming out of her shirt.
“We know you are Ghostface,” Sam informed, keeping the knife out in front of her, fear in her brain. She just wanted to protect you and Tara, she didn’t care about her safety and she knew Kirby had a gun.
“I’m not! I was knocked out and stabbed,” Kirby spoke, keeping some distance as she knew what Sam was capable of. That’s when Sam saw Bailey, gun up. “Watch out!” Bailey spoke, shooting Kirby. Kirby immediately went on the ground, bleeding before a smirk came on his face. “Watch out!” Sam repeated, both Ghostfaces running towards him. That’s when he looked at them both. “Good job,” he praised them, causing you three to be confused and look at each other. That’s when it hit Sam and she immediately put you in the middle between Tara and her so you didn’t get injured. She also handed you and Tara a brick for a security measure.
“So, you are one of the Ghostfaces. Is the other one Ethan?” Sam asked, raising an eyebrow. That was the only one she was sure of admittedly. Ethan smirked, pulling his mask off, doing a speech that quite frankly… everyone ignored. You didn’t know who the other one was though, and it seemed like the others didn’t either. “And… Mindy?” Sam asked. You and Tara looked at her before the person took off the mask.
Quinn.
Everyone felt shocked as you all thought that she was dead. In a blur, you threw your brick at Detective Bailey, knocking him out as he was looking at Quinn before he realised you had thrown your brick towards his head. Meanwhile, Ethan quickly launched towards Tara while screaming, “I always wanted to stick something inside you!”.
Sam looked disgusted before she quickly went to protect Tara, you quickly grabbed another brick, getting nervous. Sam was wielding the knife at least before you realised Kirby was nearby. That’s when you grabbed the gun from her hand. She was unconscious from pain. Quinn unfortunately reached you before you could aim the gun, however. She had aimed for your shoulder and hit at least. “Sam!” You cried as Sam was pushing Tara towards a ladder, Tara starting to climb it. Sam rushed over immediately before she stabbed Quinn as well, aiming for the neck. Quinn immediately expected her coming over though as she started to sidestep, causing Sam to fall. You gasped, the gun still in your hand as you shot Quinn, protecting Sam.

Sam was proud of you. Luckily you shot her in the head, shocked at yourself. “Hand me the gun,” Sam spoke gently. You nodded doing as told, Ethan starting to charge towards you. His knife was aimed towards your stomach. Sam tried to shoot when the gun was already jammed. “Shit, she spoke before she started to charge towards him, stabbing his guts instead, hitting a vital spot already. Sure, she was stabbed but it was just to the side, not hitting a vital organ thankfully. She wouldn’t say i it did though, not until Bailey was dead. Sam handed you the knife. “You want to do the job?” she asked. You nodded as you took it. She smirked, watching you as she went over to Bailey and was holding his hands together so there wasn’t much he could do at all if he woke up. She was nodding as Tara had seemed to have escaped. She was nowhere in sight. You suddenly stabbed Bailey in the stomach, making him wake up.
“Goodnight,” you spoke darkly before you stabbed him in the heart. He let out a gurgle, blood dripping out of his mouth before he closed his eyes. You sighed, leaving the knife in his heart before you looked at Sam and smiled. She smiled back before she kissed you gently.
“I love you,” she spoke gently, holding you close as she had one hand around you and the other on your stomach. Suddenly the door was shoved open and police walked in. You didn’t care as you just held onto Sam.
You were safe.

I've been thinking a lot about Leonarda's not-death ever since it happened back in April.
("What death?" you might ask, to which I say: "EXACTLY!")
Back in mid-April, Vegetta and Leonarda were mining together in a one-block wide tunnel. A mob (a Petriman) got between the two of them, and Vegetta told Leonarda to step back while he took care of it. At this point, they'd spent enough time together that he trusted Leo to listen to him.
Instead, she was killed by the same sweeping edge bug that killed her siblings.
-
Vegetta's reaction here is what's really interesting to me. Unlike most other parents on the Island, there are no shouts or tears – only a very brief "Hmm" and then silence. He very quietly takes stock of the situation, saying "Vegetta, no" and wondering aloud why Leo didn't defend herself. In chat, Foolish says "It was a bug, right? LAG" to which Vegetta slowly responds "Yes, lag. Bug." (Despite this, Foolish still asks "WHAT HAPPENED" in chat, though Vegetta doesn't reply).
Instead, he creates a slightly wider space in the tunnel where Leo's body is. He continues quietly taking stock of the situation, wondering why Leo didn't defend herself (which is what necessitated his intervention). She'd been lagging a lot that day, and he figures that must be the cause, and eventually when Leo re-appears out of thin air in the middle of the cave and collects her stuff, she confirms that the lag got to her and that's why she didn't fight the mob.
Now here's where things get interesting:
Vegetta checks the tab list. Online, it's just him, Leonarda, Roier, and Foolish. He quietly tells Leonarda "The body has already disappeared, and without a body, there is no crime. Nothing is happening. Did you die?" Leo shakes her head, and Vegetta shakes his head too, and in the kind voice he uses sometimes with Leo, he says: "I believe you have not died. Where is the body? It isn't anywhere, no mija. If it was a mistake, it was a mistake."
Leo says: "I saw Diosito (God) pa, and I was scared. God, what am I doing here?" and Vegetta laughs, telling her it's alright. Leo says "No pasa nada (don't worry / nothing happened)" and Vegetta says: "And the people who are watching us have not seen it either." To Foolish and Roier, he messages: "Secreto."
And the funniest thing about this is it worked.
Not a single person spoke about it. I saw this entire event go down live and I didn't see a WHISPER of what transpired among fans. I can't even remember if the QSMP official accounts talked about it (they sure didn't mention it in Vegetta's recap of the day). We could discuss this in meta terms of course– Leo was having known lag issues that day, Vegetta's beloved by the admins so of course they're willing to turn a blind eye rather than slap a "?" over Leonarda's life on the Eggstatistics, but meta talk isn't what I'm interested in here.
I'm interested in q!Vegetta, the weird "god-adjacent" aura he's got, and the way the universe bends to his will.
Before he took a break from the server, Rubius seemed to be a caretaker for the Eggs who died (for example, he was present when Maxo, Quackity, and Mariana & Slime said their final goodbyes to Trumpet, Tilin, and JuanaFlippa). Because of his role as an "angel" and some of his dialogue during the early days of the server, it's not a stretch to say he probably came to collect any Egg who lost a life. I can imagine he did the same when he saw Leonarda die – that is, until Vegetta said "And the people who are watching us have not seen it either." Realistically, we know Vegetta was saying this to Chat (and possibly the admins as well), but again, we're looking at this from an "in-universe" perspective.
I wonder if Vegetta was aware of Rubius' role, and this was his way of telling Rubius "No. I won't allow that to happen." We know Rubius has a soft-spot for Vegetta (and we also know that Rubius was cast out of heaven several months later) so it makes me wonder if these two instances are connected.
Either way, this isn't the first time the laws of the QSMP universe have bent for Vegetta, and I certainly don't think it'll be the last.
Rubius or no, Leo didn't die that day.
Vegetta made sure of it.

leave reqs here !! (no promises tho)
Tumblr media
The little palace never felt like home. Something about being considered superior and the ongoing talks about how being a grisha was a gift by the saints, one meant to be cherished made you irritated. Being a grisha was what took your real life away, took you away from a person you cared for the most, Kaz brekker.
Kaz brekker was known by many names be it the bastard of the barrel or dirtyhands but you never knew him as those, to you he simply was Kaz Rietveld, to you he would always be the boy who was caring and smart and broken. Life hadn't been kind to him and it probably still wasn't.
When you both were fourteen and were roaming around the streets of Ketterdam without a care in the world on your part, some grisha came and took both of you to be tested, Kaz wasn't one but you turned out to be, and then without a choice you were taken away from him to the little palace. You wished you had put up more of a fight, maybe even tried using whatever powers you had to free yourself, maybe then you'd still be in Ketterdam with the one you wanted.
But deep down you knew however hard you would've tried you wouldn't have been to run away. You missed everything about your old life even if it wasn't the most safe and comfortable, even if you weren't guaranteed a meal everyday, even if it meant living on the edge everyday cause it meant you could be with him.
You were now seventeen and you felt like you knew nothing except the fact that you missed him. And now you were amidst a war for a country you weren't sure you cared for but you still helped of course, you battled for Genya to receive her justice, you battled for the people who lost their lives due to General Kirigan being an abomination to the society and using people as pawns in his own twisted game.
"Zoya let me come with you to Shu Han." You spoke with eagerness in your voice.
Ever since knowing about the plan to hire the crows to retrieve the Neshyenyer from Shu Han you've been on your toes. This could be the one chance to see him before you possibly died. You weren't going to give up on that.
"Tolya is coming with me I've already told you this once before." Zoya said, Her voice was dripping with sternness, she didn't want any further arguments, "besides why do you even want to come with me?"
You glared at the woman in front of you, it felt as if the fire that normally blazed through your fingers was now in your eyes, "you know why." You said, your voice cold, your jaw clenched.
Zoya studied you, she saw the way your hands were in a tight fist and how your lips were in a thin line. She noticed the slight hitch in your breath and the way your eyebrows were scrunched, then she met your eyes. Your eyes were filled with a fire she had only seen once before when you had found out General Kirigan's reality.
"Fine. You can come with me," She said tilting her head slightly, "don't make me regret this." A smirk rested on Zoya's face.
"I won't. Thank you." You said and gave her a nod, going away to get ready for your travels to Ketterdam and then Shu Han.
Ketterdam. You had so many feelings about Ketterdam that it overwhelmed you. Was Ketterdam your home? Maybe it was cause he was there. Or was it your enemy, the place which broke and bruised you, which made you feel as if someone took a dagger and slowly ran it through your body, just enough to sting forever. Was it a place that placed an irreplaceable hurt in you or was it a place you longed to be in cause he was there. Sometimes you found yourself missing Ketterdam, or maybe you just missed Kaz. After all, it's always the people who make a place feel like home, a safe haven.
-
The whole ride to Ketterdam to you was completely utterly anxious. Your fingernails dug deep into your fist, your bottom lip so chewed out that you could now taste blood in your mouth. You had to remind yourself to breathe and your heart to beat. One of your hands reached the necklace that laid against your chest, your fingers softly gripping its pendant— a heart, engraved with flowers around the corners and a capital R in the middle. You had remembered the day Kaz had given it to you, it was your fourteenth birthday. He had nicked it from a pawn shop and hoped you'd like it. You remembered it as clear as day how he gave it to you, it was a memory that brought you peace, taught your heart how to beat again. You closed your eyes, releasing the tight grip of your fist and freeing your lips from your teeth. Taking a deep breath you lost yourself in the memory.
"hey," Kaz called out to you, your name leaving his lips, "come in"
You followed Kaz into his room and sat on the chair of his study, he opened his cupboard and removed a small circular velvet box. Your eyes curiously followed the box and him as he sat on the bed opposite to your chair, his hand still holding the box. You looked at him and slightly raised your eyebrows.
"happy birthday" he said, holding out the box for you to take. His voice seemed almost emotionless, like always, but this time you could hear the slightest quiver in it. Was Kaz Brekker nervous?
Your face adorned a smile, "is this for me?" You asked him, your voice slightly teasing.
"yes." He spoke, motioning you to take the box.
You took the box from him gingerly, a small thank you leaving your lips as you gave him a big smile, your finger ran along the edges of the box feeling the soft velvet and then you opened it. A soft gasp of surprise leaving your mouth as you removed the necklace out of the box, "Kaz! This is so precious" you said, an even wider smile now covered your face, the one where he could see your teeth, "thank you so much." You spoke earnestly.
"I'm glad you like it." Kaz spoke, the tiniest of smiles on his face.
You studied the pendant, your finger dragging along the pink flowers carved along the heart's edges, you smiled at the 'R' in the middle of the heart, "There's a 'R' in the centre of the heart" you said, your eyes meeting his, your eyebrows raised slightly as if questioning him.
Kaz remained silent, you felt as if you said something wrong, maybe you shouldn't have pointed it out, maybe it was accidental. But then Kaz said, "This way, there's always a piece of the real me with you." of course it wasn't accidental, kaz brekker is a mastermind, everything he does will always have a meaning.
"Thank you," you said, putting the necklace on, "I love it"
He merely gave you a nod and you left his room.
-
"Let me do the talking." Zoya said, her eyes on your face as you stepped into the crow club, you hummed a noise of approval your eyes desperately searching the dim lit room which reeked of alcohol, a smoky haze covered the room. Someone approached Zoya, you didn't know who he was nor you cared cause it wasn't him.
You soon got lost in your thoughts again, kaz often had that effect on you. You couldn't stop thinking about how he would react to seeing you, would he even acknowledge you? Would he show the slightest reaction? You weren't sure. Soon, Zoya grabbed your arm and tugged on it, "Let's go? I've been calling your name." Her voice had its usual sternness.
"Yeah, right, sorry." You spoke softly, your face held a look of melancholy, Zoya noticed it and her eyes softened, she placed her hands on yours gingerly and gave it a gentle squeeze, "it'll be okay" she said softly, offering you a small smile. You gave her a warm smile and a nod as you both walked towards a hall led by someone.
"Boss will meet you here", the man said as he opened the door to a room which looked like a study, you walked in and Zoya took a seat on the wooden chair kept opposite the table. You walked along the room, your eyes taking in every single corner of the room. You saw the painting hung up on the wall, scrolls of paper neatly placed on the side table, a black wool coat hung on the coat rack. Your breath hitched slightly, "was it his?," You thought, your hand reaching out to touch it, your hand grazed along the soft wool and then you heard the door open. You turned around and your eyes widened a little, your mouth slightly open, a breath left your mouth and your eyes met his striking blue ones. You felt as if time had stopped, you could feel your heart beating fast, so fast that you could feel it in your throat. "Kaz" you said, your voice barely a whisper.
Kaz's eyes widened a little, you could see his grip tighten on his cane, you gave him a little smile, he had to remember you. How could he not?
Zoya's sharp voice suddenly cut the thick tension that settled in the air, "Kaz Brekker, Ravka seeks your help." Her hand holding a letter out to him. A scowl covered Kaz's face, he snatched the letter off Zoya's hand, "We aren't patriots," he said grimly, his eyes meeting Zoya's.
"The money isn't the matter, the king will give you your price" She said with certainty.
Kaz hummed in response, his eyes reading the letter and then it met yours again. Oh those eyes, how you had longed to see them, Kaz's brown eyes were something you'd never forget. You couldn't even if you had tried. His eyes were the shade of brown you saw everyday in your morning coffee, you saw his eyes in the dark leather bound books, you saw his eyes in pieces of dark chocolate. For you he was everywhere- he was in the game of cards you saw younger Grisha playing, he was in the snarky remarks passed around, but more importantly, he was always in your heart.
"Leave." he said now looking at Zoya, "we will discuss about this in a moment." His voice sounded bitter.
Zoya hesitated, her eyes followed yours and she gave you a nod, "Fine, but just a moment", she uttered, leaving and slamming the door shut.
"Kaz," You called out, this time louder. Your voice held desperation in it, it was soft yet tense- you wanted to hold him, you wanted to touch him and try to make up the lost time, you took a step closer to him, "i missed you" you said, your hand fiddling with your necklace.
Kaz's eyes followed your hand, he was surprised to find out you still had the necklace with you, "Three years." he spoke, his voice softer now, "it's been three fucking years." you could see his walls slowly breaking down, his eyes becoming softer, the grip on his cane becoming weaker. "I wondered if you had died", his voice quivered slightly, his eyes glossier.
Another step forward, "How could i die without seeing you?", you said, humor in your voice, "Kaz, are you okay? is everything okay?" you asked, your face held a look of melancholy, your lips pursed.
"You look different," Kaz said, ignoring your question, "you look beautiful." he said slowly, a small smile playing on his lips.
you could feel the tears in your eyes, you smiled at him, a soft giggle left your lips, "Thank you, but that still doesn't answer my question, are you okay?"
"I missed your laugh" he said, "i missed you." This time Kaz took a step towards you, his gloved hands tensed a little. "You still have the necklace." he remarked.
You nodded, "how could i not carry a piece of the real you with me always?"
Kaz looked down, his hand tracing patterns on his cane, "I hated being away from you" he admitted, "i-" he took a breath, his eyes meeting yours, the look on his face made you want to cry, you could feel your eyes filling up with tears again, "I needed you" he said, your name leaving his lips, another breath in, "I wanted you".
You tilted your head slightly, your hands wiping the few tears on your cheek, "I am sorry,"
"It wasn't your fault." he said quickly.
"You have me now, if you still want me." you said, your voice slow, "after this, this war is over I'll stay here in Ketterdam, if you want me too"
Kaz's face looked like that of a young boy again, he was changed in the way he was now, he was dirtyhands, the bastard of the barrel, he was someone people feared- but right now, in this moment, he was Kaz Rietveld again.
"I will always want you." He said slowly, his hand reached out for yours, it tensed a little.
"Kaz you don't have too-"
"I want you to stay." He said, his hand relaxing in yours, "i want you." He gently squeezed your hand.
"Then you'll have me" you said smiling, "you will have me Kaz Rietveld."

Embers of the past. // Aemond Targaryen x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: ANGST, war, grief, loss, major character death(s), hurt/no comfort, tragedy + not proofread
WC: 1.1k
A/N: first time writing pure angst IDK 😭 I couldn't sleep and I wrote this short fic so uhm 😀
He reminisced about you quite often, about the moments you both spent together; in youth and in adulthood.
“Aemond?” You call out his name and he wakes up from his slumber, your face hovering over his as the sunlight scatters around your form because of the way you blocked it with your head.
“Y/N?” He groans, rubbing his eyes as he properly sat up, fully awake now, “Yes, It is me, The septa is looking for you at the request of Ser Criston Cole” You tell him, and he looks around, “You know how she is, He will say how un-princely it is to fall asleep under the godswood!” You pull him by his arm, rolling at the thought of the septa lecturing you both, and he gets up, before brushing off the dust from his clothes.
“Let us go now, otherwise You'll be late for your training.” You quickly urge him, dragging him along by the arm and he stumbles forwards but immediately picks up pace. “Will you be watching me train again today?” He asks and you nod eagerly, “I love seeing you train.” you reply, causing him to blush before locking your arm with his and moving to the training grounds.
He remembered how in his youth you used to stare at him in awe whenever he trained, that stare never changed, it felt as though you always saw a side of him that no one ever did, your eyes filled with pure admiration, solely for him alone.
He admired you as well.
His admiration grew with age, as you both grew up, it turned into an emotion that would soon engulf you both into pieces, burn you both alive in its flames of passion. Love.
He loved everything about you.
The way you spoke, the way your voice would become a pitch higher whenever you talk of your interests, the way your eyes would gleam with brightness as you stared at him, the way your face would brighten up when you would see him.
He adored you so much.
So why is that your eyes which once beamed so brightly seem soulless? Your face is void of any expression which was once always smiling, your body so cold to the touch, no longer providing the warmth he once basked in. Why?
His grip on your body tightened as he was lost in thought, “My prince…” Ser Criston's Cole’s voice was filled with nothing but pity, but why was it filled with pity anyway?
He remembers now.
You had died.
Taken away from him, a cruel punishment for his action of accidentally slaying his own nephew, his own kin. He couldn't save you in time as the men sent by Daemon Targaryen had arrived before he could even reach out.
He walked into a room where the floor was covered in blood, your body lying amidst it with your gown stained with your own vital fluid.
He thought he had lost a part of him even forever when he lost his eye, but the day he lost you was the day he lost himself.
He became a ghost of a person he was before, his mind filled with nothing but grief and sorrow, Did he truly deserve it? You had done nothing wrong to be the victim of such a crime, it should be him that should be dead because of his own actions, not you.
Yet the gods were cruel.
Aemond, turned mad, unable to deal with the grief that weighed upon him so heavily which he turned to endless training and bloodshed, venting his frustrations out in such a way.
Till he met Alys Rivers.
“I know of the troubles you suffer from my prince, I can help you.” She had told him the moment he met her, and he scoffed, almost chuckling at her stupidity, “I know the sorrows that weigh upon you, my prince, the way you dearly miss her.” It was what caught Aemond's attention, how did she know of you? The only ones that knew were the ones closest to him.
“I can help you avenge her, but…” Those first few words were enough for Aemond to agree with Alys, she need not say more, in return, he helped her live a secure life than before, providing protection to her while she exchanged the visions she used to see.
It was all what led to the moment.
Him facing off his uncle above the God's eye.
The dragons roared as the fight begin, attacking one another for few minutes, struggling to gain the upperhand until Vhagar caught Caraxes by the neck, causing the dragon to panic and yank Daemon off, but Daemon held on tightly, his plan changing, jumping off his dragon in a suicide-mission to deliver the final blow to Aemond.
Yet he failed and fell to his death.
Aemond thought he had won, and that he had finally avenged you.
But he plummeted from the skies, watching both the dragons fight above him, he was knocked off from his dragonback when Caraxes lunged at Vhagar in order to avenge his rider,
As Aemond descended through the air, he had remembered what Alys had said to him. “You will see her once again after defeating your uncle.”
He understood what it meant now.
He reminisced about everything, everything leading up to now, each and every moment he spent with you, suddenly he felt alive as each second passed on and time moved forwards, how ironic as he was falling to his death. Yet it did not feel that way to him, he did not feel the doom anyone would feel nearing their death, instead he felt more alive than he ever did in the days he spent living without you.
Even as the air felt like a million spikes being shoved into his body, he found peace in it, the way the harsh air penetrated through his clothes and hair felt anything but terrible, contrary to it, he oddly found solace.
The waters welcomed his body as though they were waiting for him, Aemond found it harder to breathe, yet he did not struggle; simply closing his eye and welcoming death, accepting his fate. He felt as if he was only mere moments away from you.
Maybe in death, he won't be separated from you.
Even in his final moments, his mind refused to wander off to anywhere but you.
As the life left his body, he had only one thing in his mind.
Your face that smiled ever so brightly and warmly at him, just as the way you used to.

Being Helen of Troy’s son and being ”rescued” by Percy Jackson…
Tumblr media
Percy Jackson x Male Reader
Warnings: Reader is kidnapped by a creepy giant who wants to marry him…
Summary: You get taken by a giant for your beauty and Zeus sends a hero to rescue you…
——
After Helen died in ancient times Zeus brought her up to Olympus and made her immortal, but that wasn’t the last time she set foot on earth. She had a child with a mortal, a son she would name ”Y/n”, leaving him to be raised by his father in New York.
Many years later he would find out about his heritage but in a harsh way…
One day when you were walking home late at night a giant man had snuck up behind him, grabbed him and shoved him in to a giant burlap sack.
He didn’t know how long he was in the sack but the next thing he knew he was emptied out of the sack on to hard cobblestone floor, looking around it looked like he had been taken to some kind of dirty old castle or fortress.
He looked up at the person who had taken him, it was a giant man dressed in torn ancient greek robes, he was tall and muscular but with a nasty looking face. ”Who are you? What do you want?” You questioned scared.
The man spoke up in a hoarse sounding voice saying ”I am Tityos, i have taken you son of Helen to be mine”. ”Son of who?” You questioned confused. He ignored you and picked you up, throwing you over his shoulder and carried you up to a tower.
He pushed you in to a room and growled ”We are to be married in a week”. He then slammed the door behind you and locked it.
Despite being extremely confused by the fact that a man dressed as if he was from ancient greece had kidnapped you calling you a ”Son of Helen”, you did your best trying to think of a way to escape.
After being carried in the burlap sack for hours your clothes were sweaty, the only type of change Tityos had provided were greek chitons kind of like the ones he was wearing. You changed in to one.
After changing you got an idea, there was a window in the room, you opened it, the fortress you were in was on the top of a tall mountain, further down the mountain you could see the lights of a village.
If you could tie together all of the chitons, the curtains and sheets, you could make a makeshift rope to climb out of the foretress and down from the tower and then go down to the village and find the authorities.
You immediately got to work tying together the different fabrics. It was going to take a while to make a rope that was long enough to go down to the ground and also hold your bodyweight.
It took days and you had to hide what you worked on everytime Tityos came by to give you food. Luckily you could always hear him coming because he wasn’t exactly quiet.
The rope was almost finished and it was the night before the day you were meant to be married to Tityos. You frantically worked as you tied the bed sheets to your now probably almost 70 feet long rope. Then you heard something behind you, a loud thump.
You turned around and saw someone scrambling to climb up in through the open window. The person in the window then managed to get in and said to themselves while panting heavily ”Gods, i’m never taking a mission for him ever again”.
The stranger then looked up making you see he wasn’t actually much of a stranger, that black hair, those green eyes…
”Percy…? Percy Jackson…?” You questioned confused. It was one of your classmates. But a bit different… instead of being dressed as usual he had a orange t-shirt covered by some light armour.
”Y/n?!” He asked loudly making you hush him and whisper ”Tityos might hear you”. ”You’re the son of Helen?” Percy questioned. ”I don’t know, i don’t even know what that’s supposed mean and why are you here?” you stated.
Percy then started ”Boy, this i gonna take a while to explain, so basically…” he then proceded to explain that the greek gods were all real, that you were the son of Helen of Troy and that he had gotten a mission from Zeus to rescue you from Tityos.
”Okay that was… that was a lot” you commented. You then realised something ”Wait? How did you get up here? You’ve got a ladder?” You questioned going over to the window to check.
”No, i flew here” he stated. ”You can fly?” You questioned. ”No no no, but my pegasus can, the winds were strong so he couldn’t stop outside so i had to jump and grab on to the window and climb in, but when we get out he’ll be waiting a bit further down the mountain” he said and then realised something.
”But first we have to find a way out” he said looking around you then gestured to your several feet long makeshift rope. ”That could work” he said and he helped you finish it. You then tied the rope around the bed and threw the rest out window.
It reached all the way down, you and Percy started climbing out the window and down the rope. You were starting to regret the fact that you were wearing a chiton, as the cold mountain wind hit you.
Once you got down from the tower you and Percy quickly started moving down the mountain. You followed a trail taking you down towards the village and at the end waited a black horse, but it had large wings on it’s sides.
”Y/n, this is Blackjack my pegasus, Blackjack, this is Y/n, my classmate” Percy introduced you to the pegasus. He then helped you climb up on it’s back, he then climbed up in front of you while saying ”Hope you’re not scared of heights”. ”I just climbed out of a 70 feet tall tower, i should be fine” you stated.
”Hold on to me” Percy said and you wrapped your arms around his waist, the pegasus then took off and flew in to the night.
You flew until sunrise and eventually landed in what looked like a summer camp and soon the two of you were surrounded by campers. Suddenly you felt really exposed in your short length chiton.
The campers then parted and half man half horse walked over between them. ”Good job, Percy” he praised the hero. The man then turned to you and said ”Son of Helen, welcome to Camp Half-Blood”.
You decided to stay with Percy at camp for the rest of the summer and as you were technically a legacy of Zeus, you were allowed to stay in Cabin 1.
As you had inherited your mother’s great beauty people were quick to start flirting with you. And as you had no siblings Percy’s friend Annabeth made sure to keep your admirers at a distance. She also gave you a knife and taught you to fight.
Once summer was over you and Percy returned to New York as close friends. And in the future even more if Aphrodite had anything to say about it.

Bloody Hug
Summary: Daryl snapped at you. For the first time ever. And for the first time, he was the cause of your tears (Daryl x Crybaby!Reader)
Genre : Angst 💔; Hurt/Comfort ❤️‍🩹
A/N: Here's my attempt at writing Daryl being mad at Reader! 💕 Hope you'll enjoy it! <3
Tumblr media
As always when he was angry, Daryl did not think before he spoke. You had just returned from a mission, where one small mistake almost got you killed, and Glenn had accidentally told it to the whole group. You were not mad at him, you knew the boy did not think before he spoke either.
They all watched in silence as your eyes welled up with tears, as your bottom lip started to quiver. And as a shocked sob escaped your lips, you ran away to your cell.
And Daryl saw red. You were the only person left from his ''before the outbreak life'', after Merle's death. He had known you for years, which is why he did not want you to go on that run in the first place. Although you knew how to fight and how to handle yourself, you were clumsy. He had prevented you from tripping over your own feet countless times before, and hoped to save you again for years. Which is something he would not be able to do if you died slipping on a wet rag on the floor, as you fucking did today.
And his words stung even more than the bruises forming on your thighs. He had call you ''fucking dumb'' and ''inconscient'' and ''a fucking child'', your eyes widening in hurt as he yelled. And no one dared opening their mouths during his angry speech, too stunned to say anything, shocked to see him being this rude to you. You, the only person he was soft to.
Daryl was used to seeing you cry, because you were his polar opposite. You had always been a really expressive person, shedding tears every time you felt too happy or too sad, while he tended to hide his feelings when he was hurt. But even though he was familiar with your tears, he had never been the cause of them before. And it did not feel good. Maggie had glared at him, following your steps while everyone else stood there, staring awkwardly. He had told them all to ''fuck off'', retreating into the forest, as he did every time he felt bad.
Meanwhile, Maggie had followed you into your cell, softly holding you against her as you cried, head on her shoulder. She had always been kind and patient with you, and you were sure it was because you reminded her of Beth.
'He's just bein' a jerk, he does not think what he said, hon.' She said, wiping your tears with her thumbs.
You nodded, still sniffling.
'Do you think he'll stay mad for long?' You managed to ask, your voice raspy.
'If you had seen his look when you started to cry... I'm sure he feels bad, now.'
You would forever be grateful for Maggie, Glenn, Beth, Lori and Carol, who had listened to you cry with an infinite patience since it all began. And even though you had made sure to return the favor, being especially present for Carol when Laura was missing, and supporting them all during their problems, you could not help but feel guilty for being the one who needed to be comforted the most.
Maggie smiled at you, shaking her head no.
She cupped your face with her hands, her eyes into yours.
Maggie got up, her eyes still on you.
'And don't you dare feel bad because it was not your fault. He is just mad because he doesn't want to lose you. We all made stupid mistakes, I'm just glad you didn't break anything.'
'Well, I broke my dignity, and my ass is all bruised now.' You muttered, making her laugh.
'Maybe this'll help you remember to watch where you put your feet.' She teased you, and you rolled your eyes, a tiny smile appearing on your lips.
'Why don't you try and get some rest, hon? I'm on watch duty this afternoon, but I'll make sure to come back to check on you. Want me to ask Beth to keep you company?'
You shook your head no.
'Don't bother her, the run tired me out, I'm gonna sleep all afternoon.'
You had been friends for such a long time that thinking he only pretended to like you was stupid, but he seemed so sincere... You spent hours rewatching your conversation in your head. Beth came twice, once to make sure you stopped crying, and once to bring you some oatmeal you left on the cardboard box you used as a bedside table. Carol came as well, calming your nerves with her wise words. And promising you she would give Daryl a piece of her mind. She ended the conversation by squeezing your hand, leaving you alone with your thoughts.
She smiled softly, not believing you. Daryl being mad at you was a big fear of yours, and you were both well-aware of that. She did not say anything though, leaving you on your own to process your emotions.
You did not even try to fall asleep. You knew you would not be able to do so while knowing someone was mad at you. Especially Daryl. So you stayed there, fidgeting with your knife. Although you knew he had only yelled because he was scared for your well-being, you kept thinking about his venomous words. Did he think you were childish? Dumb? Did he even like you or did he feel like he had to protect you because you were the only one he knew before everything went wrong?
And after a while...He arrived.
You were sitting on your bed, eyes on the wall as you were reassuring yourself that you were not weak, that you knew how to fight and was a valuable member of the team, when your thoughts were interrupted by a grunt. You did not need to move your eyes from the wall to know it was Daryl.
'I don't want to talk to you.' You said, crossing your arms against your chest.
You ignored the fact it was a childish move, keeping your eyes away from him.
You finally met his eyes, scrunshing your nose in disgust when you noticed he was covered in walker guts. Yeah, he was definitely not allowed in your room...
'I'm sorry.' He simply said, and you knew it was already a big step for him. He usually did not say sorry, he only brought a trinket from his run.
'You were an ass.'
'I'm sorry.' He repeated, still at the entrance, waiting for you to invite him in.
'You know I hate people yelling at me.' You stated, your voice a bit more high-pitched than you intended. 'And you knew exactly what to say to hurt me. And you did it anyway. You wanted to make me sad.'
If you had not spent half of your afternoon crying about what happened, you probably would be crying now. But you were too exhausted to cry. He sighed, not knowing what to say. After all, he was used to making you feel better when someone else made you cry. He had no idea how to make things better.
He sighed.
'Yer too damn clumsy to go on runs.' He started, and he immediatly noticed your glare.
'Your apology sucks Daryl.'
You brought your knees to your chest, and he lowered his eyes to the tissues near your bed, a guilty look on his face. You did not try to make him feel better, you were still mad he yelled at you.
'I told you countless times I hated being yelled at.'
'I'm sorry.' You got three sorry in one apology, which was three more than literally anyone else in the group. 'But hearing Glenn talking about how ya almost died... And you laughed, as if-'
'I laughed because it was a stupid mistake, Daryl.' You said with a soft voice.
'I know you're scared when I am away. I am terrified when you're hunting, or on runs too.' You continued. 'But that does not give you the right to yell at me when I make a mistake. I tripped on something, that does not make me dumb, or inconscient... or childish. And I am mostly mad at you because I already told you how much I hate being compared to a child, just because I cry more than you all. You used this against me, and I am mad at you for that.'
You had managed to keep your voice steady, which was a huge success.
'I'm sorry I said these stupid things, didn't mean to hurt ya. I just... Seeing ya laugh as if I didn't almost lose ya...'
You nodded, softening as you noticed he was beating himself up.
'I forgive you.'
His eyes went up to you and you gave him a small smile.
'But if you ever yell at me like that again I will not.'
You both knew it was a lie. You forgave people just as much as you tripped on air. It was one of the personality traits that made Daryl so protective of you. But he nodded anyway, pretending to ignore this fact, a relieved look on his face. And seeing how relieved he was made you forget all of your anger. You rose from your bed, opening your arms for a hug. He shook his head no.
He rolled his eyes at the pun, but embraced you anyway, his arms around you. Your clothes would definitely be stained forever, but you needed the hug.
'I'm gonna stain yer clothes.'
'I don't care, you made me cry and I deserve a bloody hug now.'
You smiled.
'Did Carol yell at you?' You asked against him, and felt him nod.
'She threatened to slash my tires if I ever made ya cry again.'
'Remind me to thank her.'

Exactly Like That
John Shelby x Reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: none
Word Count: 683
Summary: Two friends become a something a little more than that when John lets those three words slip.
Tumblr media
John and (Y/N) were sitting on the bank of the Cut, like they usually do. They’d gone there nearly every Friday for the last ten years, spare the years when John was away at war. Whenever he’d come home though, they’d somehow find themselves sitting there.
In a way, it became like their therapy. The calming sound of the water flowing became the backdrop that the two would share their goings on to.
It was there that these two became closer to each other than anyone else in their lives.
John just finished telling (Y/N) what was happening in his family. She was the one person who would listen to everything and not tell a soul. She did so because she knew John would do the same for her. They were both thankful for each other in that regard.
“You’ll get through it, John. You always do,” she said to him, a smile forming as she turned to face him. “And hey, if you don’t, I know that I’ve got a handsome amount of money coming my way,” she joked then, cracking up at her own statement.
John couldn’t help but laugh. Her laughter was like music to his ears. It always instantly put him in a better mood. “I love you,” he admitted once his laughter died down and he’d been watching at her as she came down from her fit of giggles from a few moments ago.
“Yeah,” she agreed, not really hearing what he said at first. Silence fell over them as (Y/N) looked down to the water again. Then it clicked. “Do you actually love me?” she asked, a seriousness present in her voice that hadn’t been there seconds ago. This conversation had essentially changed tones on a dime.
“Yeah, course I do,” John responded without a second thought.
(Y/N) froze for a moment, her heart rate quickening. “Yeah, well not like that, right?” she scrambled to ask while mentally telling herself to calm down and not get ahead of herself.
John’s eyes danced over her face for a moment, taking her features in before the slightest smile graced his lips. “No, exactly like that,” he spoke with sincerity, like it was the most important thing he’d ever said.
(Y/N) let out a breath, her eyes going wide as she quickly looked straight again. She was freaking out now, and she didn’t want him to see it. In all their years of friendship, she never thought that things would get to this point…where she’d make her feelings for him known.
Nothing was said as John reached over and gently took hold of (Y/N)’s chin so that he could guide her eyes back to his. They held eye contact for a few moments, the air around them holding this weird tension that neither of them had experienced before.
John just had to break it. “I love you, (Y/N). Have since you and I was kids,” he told her, speaking softly due to their proximity, but she heard every word clear as day. She also didn’t miss his eyes as they flitted down to her lips. There was no hesitation in her moving the slightest bit closer to him, showing him that she wanted exactly what he wanted. He licked his lips before continuing, “…been wantin’ to do this for a long time too,” he breathed, giving her no time to respond - if she even wanted to - before he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers.
The kiss felt exactly like those kisses that are described in the romance novels…the ones that sweep people off of their feet. (Y/N) was thankful that they were sitting, because otherwise she wasn’t sure if she could trust her legs to hold her up.
“I love you too, John,” she breathed against his lips once they broke the kiss. Her eyes were closed, but she was able to feel his smile, and that alone made her smile. Nothing else was said as their lips met again…nothing more was needed to be said.

Let Them Stay
Tonowari x Reader x Ronal
Summary: You would've never thought that you'd see more Omatikaya on the shores of the reef, but before you stood Jake and his family. They sought refuge from your mates, you assured your mates about him. Now, you and Jake talk about how you disappeared and what had been going on before you were taken hostage by the one person you told Jake to protect you from.
Warnings: canon violence, past abuse, past sexual abuse, past violence, past torture, survivor guilt, coercion, hostage situations, panic attacks, abusive relationship, canon death.
You have sought protection from the Metkayina people long before Jake and his family ever did. Truth is you’ve been here for more than 15 years, and you've grown into the culture here. You have a family with people here, you were one of them. You found your mates here; this was where you were always meant to be.
So, on that fateful day, you heard ikrans in the sky, you felt a shiver run down your body.
What were forest Na'vi doing here?
You were out swimming with your kids, of course, they swam faster and got to the shore sooner. When you did get there, you stayed in the back, you wanted to be next to your mates but you’d get there eventually. It wasn’t till you heard the voice and Tonowari spoke his name.
You recognized that voice.
You worked with this person back with the RDA, you and Grace were lead researchers with the Omaticaya people.
What was he doing here? Why would an avatar be here and who was it exactly?
“We seek uturu.”
They were looking for refuge, why would they want that? If you recall, Neytiri would never leave home. He had a beautiful family, but why did they leave the rainforest? Ronal walked around looking at Jake’s kids, critiquing their bodies for being small and thin. Then she got to the older girl, Ronal grabbed her hand and saw the extra finger. Ronal thought of you, she wondered where you were and if you were both okay.
“These kids are not real Na’vi, they have demon blood.”
“Wait,” you said from the back of the crowd.
You pushed your way up front and looked the people in the eyes. Their eyes were wide, another Omaticaya Na’vi was already here.
“Jake?”
Jake looked at you, you were heavily pregnant, and he always wondered what had happened to you. It was like you fell off the face of the earth a while ago, he assumed you died during the battle.
“Why are you here?” You knew you were getting stares for speaking in English with Jake.
“People are coming after us.”
“Who?”
“Quaritch and others are back and in Na’vi bodies.”
You went rigid, not him anyone but him. You felt your body go cold and your head felt heavy, you felt exhausted and restless, you were having a panic attack. He can’t find you not again, you’re not going back.
“No,” you felt like you were screaming but it was barely a whisper.
“No?” Jake questioned.
“I won’t let him come back for me. He can’t come here. I won’t allow it.”
“He won’t ever come here. Please we just want to get away, we don’t want a war.”
“I’m not going back to being Quaritch’s bitch. I left for a reason. I have a family I can’t go back. I won’t let him take me back.”
“What are you talking about? What happened?”
“I didn’t know about home tree falling until Tonowari told me when he heard about it. I left before that even happened. Once I knew there was no way out, once I knew that Selfridge and Quaritch didn’t care and never would; I had to leave. I didn’t want to be there for all that death. So, I left. It was perfect timing, Miles was busy with orders and bulldozing the lands and blowing up home tree; I had a clear shot. He forgot to lock his bedroom door, so I forced a pilot to take a link station and my body and set me up. Then I came here and I met my mates and I have a family... No more orders, no more Quaritch.”
“What did Quaritch do to you?”
“A lot of things, rape me, beat me, degrade me. He made me stay, he knew I was in the avatar program and he controlled me that way. I had to leave; I couldn’t be his lap dog anymore. I’m sorry I wasn’t there when everything happened.”
“I don’t blame you for leaving.”
“How’s Grace?”
“She’s dead. Quaritch shot her when we tried to escape. They were going to send us back to earth and we got out.”
Your hand was on your mouth, one of your best friends was dead, you couldn’t believe it.
“We do have her daughter though,” Jake pointed back to Kiri.
Your eyes widened as you saw the striking resemblance, “you look so much like your mother.” You spoke in Na’vi and smiled down at her; her face lit up at that comment.
“Let them stay,” you said as you turned around to look at your mates.
“What were you saying to him?” Ronal asked.
“I know him from the place I was before. He’s a good person, a bit of an idiot, but a good man.”
Ronal smiled as she opened her arms for you, you smiled back and ran into her arms, snuggling under her chin. You loved getting to be with them, especially now when you're so close to having your baby, your body loved to be next to them.
“Then it is settled, Torok Makto and his family will stay with us,” Tonowari shouted.
You tried to help them with their stuff and Ronal wouldn’t let you out of her arms, you shouldn’t be doing that work anyway.
Later on, you went to visit Jake again, you wanted to catch up on what you missed out on. Both him and Neytiri would fill you in on everything that had happened.
“I’m glad to see you made it out safe, how’s Norm?”
“Norm’s good, he still links in most of the time,” Jake said.
“Are you still linking in?”
“No, when we tried to save Grace and put her permanently into her Na’vi body, I learned that it was possible to put my consciousness into my avatar and I did to be with Neytiri all the time.”
“Ronal did that for me, after we mated.”
“About that, are you with both of them?”
“Yeah, I am. Ronal said it wasn’t uncommon to have more than one mate. I quite like it. I also think it helps since they are both busy people and important to the clan, I will always have someone with me if the other is busy.”
Jake looked at Neytiri and she shook her head.
“Neytiri is too good for you to need another, Jake.”
“I wasn’t implying that I wanted another, just like the sound of no one being lonely.”
“What about Tsu’tey? How is he? Upset about not being Olo’eyktan?”
“He’s dead too. It happened during the big fight. He was shot down off his ikran.”
“Man, I really should’ve been there. I’m sorry I left and didn’t say anything.”
“Don’t worry about that, you did what you needed to. Trust me, we were okay without you. You getting out was more important than staying.”
“But I missed so much and so many people died.”
“Neytiri lost her father too.”
You looked at Neytiri, “Neytiri, I’m so sorry. If it’s any consolation I tried to get him to stop. I was closer to him than anyone else and he wasn’t ever going to give that fever dream up. I wanted so badly for him to stop; I never wanted a war. After a trip to the emergency room from how badly he beat me, I gave up and that’s when I knew I had to leave, that there was no point in trying.”
“It’s okay, you did what you had to do, no one blames you for leaving,” Jake said.
“But I do, I shouldn’t have left when you guys needed me. I could’ve helped, people may have lived if I was there instead of cowering off and pretending everything was okay.”
“I don’t think it would’ve changed much. By leaving it might have saved your life. Besides, after we won, we sent them all back to earth. We got rid of them. Not for long though, sky people will always return. The new RDA is worse, they know of me and what I’ve done. They know all the raids I’ve been leading to slow their progress. They know how dangerous Na’vi are, they weren’t taking any chances. They made the Recom soldiers and they beefed up security and the army pretty much run that place.”
“Makes sense, they aren’t taking any chances. I get that you want to keep your family safe I’d do the same. Even though the two kids we already have came from Ronal, Eywa has blessed me to finally have my own. We tried for such a long time; it just wasn’t my time. Now it is. However, those kids are my own and I’d kill to protect them.”
“I know the feeling and I know you are a tough son of a bitch. I’ve seen you take a lot.”
“If Quaritch is to come, promise me, you won’t let him take me back. I can’t go back; I can’t do it again.”
“Promise. Trust me, I want to kill the guy first anyway.”
“Not before I do.”
“Oh, you wish.”
But things never work out the way you want them to, because you were tied up on the railing of the boat. Quaritch knew who you were, he saw your face and knew exactly who you were. You had your baby a few months ago, you should’ve been with him but you left him in the care of your parents while you went out to help the kids. You saw them all chasing after that tulkan, you knew they’d be in danger, you had to help them, you were the only one around. So, you went after them and you knew right away you should’ve stayed with your baby, your mates would be so upset with you for leaving.
You struggled against the ties, you knew even if he let the kids go, he’d never let you out of his sights ever again. You just wanted to be in the arm of your mates, you knew this was going to be a terrible idea. Then over the sea line you saw a pack of skimwings, they were coming to save you and the kids. You could see your mates and Jake at the front leading them in, you wanted to be in their arms again.
Then Quaritch started to talk to Jake through his son’s throat comm, you understood what he was saying. You saw Jake looking through the scope of his rifle, trying to see who was there. You swore you could see your mates’ snarl; they were upset and angry, you shouldn’t have been here. You’d spend forever trying to make it up to them, if you made it out of this. You watched Jake swim closer to the ship, he was accepting Quaritch’s offer, you had a terrible feeling.
All hell broke loose.
The war you anticipated had started.
Bullets were flying all around, you saw the Metkayina warriors swim through the water and skewer people with their spears. You prayed that you’d make it out of here alive and get to your mates and your kids. All the soldiers were busy with the warriors and the tulkun on the ship that Neteyam had a perfect opening. He got onto the ship and cut you all free, you went into the water with Tuk, and you saw the two boys stay. It made you nervous but you had to get Tuk to safety, you had to get a spear and join your lovers.
You got onto a nearby skimwing and took you and Tuk to safety in the village, you went to leave again but at that point, the village elders wouldn’t let you. You fought with them, your mates were out there, your friends were out there, you were able-bodied, you could help. But you couldn’t leave, you would never make it back in time anyway because once you tried to sneak off, the warriors were coming back. You stayed there looking for your mates and when they got to the shore you ran up to them and hugged them. You held them as tightly as possible, you were scared, you didn’t want to go back, you couldn’t.
“What were you thinking? You left to help the kids? You should’ve stayed here where you were safe with our baby,” Tonowari said holding your face.
“I’m sorry. I saw them leave and I was the only one. I was so scared. I knew I shouldn’t have gone. That man that had us, I knew him before I came here. Jake promised I wouldn’t end up in his hands again. He was a bad man, he hurt me. I was scared for myself, you guys, our kids. I’m so sorry.”
“All that matters is everyone is safe. Let’s go see our kids,” Ronal said as she took your hand and kissed your head.

Cake
1146 words / Prompt: Laugh
Have some cake. It's my birthday.
Sherlock picks up his fork and examines the slice of cake before him. It’s yellow, with thick white icing and colourful sprinkles.
John and Molly have already tasted their pieces and are talking about something. John makes a teasing remark about hearing aids. Apparently Sherlock has missed the question.
“Hm?”
John smiles at him. It’s a fond smile, but a sad one. Sherlock tries to remember the last time John looked happy. It’s been ages, he thinks. Even the smile on his face now isn’t truly happy.
His wedding, maybe. He did smile a lot that day, but there was something ragged underneath. A kind of exhausted cheer. The days leading up the event were hectic, but it was worth it to give John and Mary a joyous day. Maybe it was relief Sherlock saw in those wedding smiles. Glad to have the big day go well, ready to wake up to a new life.
The day Rosie was born, John’s smile was incredulous, full of wonder. But Sherlock could see he was terrified, too. It was the day it all became real, irrevocable. There was no going back for him and Mary. Nor for Sherlock. John was a father, and had responsibilities.
Unmingled joy. That’s what Sherlock is trying to remember.
That was the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever done.
And you invaded Afghanistan.
It was the first time he heard John helpless with laughter. They’d stood inside the front door, leaning against the wall, giggling at the ridiculousness of what they’d just done, running through alleys and across rooftops. Welcome to London.
It was the moment when he first realised he wanted to kiss John. He wanted to hear that giggle of surrender again. To laugh every day with John and keep him forever.
It might have lasted, if Sherlock hadn’t created a problem that could only be solved by dying, leaving John alone for two years.
He’d dreamed of coming home, hearing John laugh at his brilliant resurrection. He’d been so intent on that, he hadn’t realised. It may have been necessary to go away, but his return wasn’t as brilliant as he’d dreamed.
Well, then. Neither of them has been happy.
“You haven’t even tasted it,” John is saying.
“Oh.” He lifts a bite to his mouth, smells vanilla, feels the icing melt on his tongue. “Delicious.” It is, and he takes another bite, even though he’s not hungry.
John is smiling at him.
He can’t stop thinking about John’s tears, just a half an hour ago in the flat.
I’m not the man you thought I was.
It’s not okay.
Well, it is what it is. John hasn’t been happy for a long time, he thinks.
Though they never spoke of it, he knows John had mixed feelings about the marriage. A part of him loved Mary, but even though he forgave her, he never forgot:  what have I ever done… my whole life… to deserve you?
Mary wasn’t supposed to be like that. But she was.
Sherlock wasn’t supposed to come back, but he did.
John was supposed to be happy. He wasn’t.
Sometimes he thinks John might have been happy if Sherlock had stayed dead. He would have got over his best friend dying in front of him. He would have married and lived in the suburbs with his wife and child. His wife wouldn’t have shot Sherlock, and she wouldn’t have died, trying to protect him. He wouldn’t be raising his child alone.
He eats his cake silently, pressing his fork into the last crumbs.
“You’ve been quiet,” John says as they walk back to 221B.
“Hm.”
“About earlier… I’m sorry.” He huffs a small laugh. “Mood killer, for sure.”
He stops walking. “John.”
John is two paces ahead by the time Sherlock says his name. He turns and looks at Sherlock, puzzled. “What is it?”
“Are you happy?”
“Am I happy?” He gives a short, bitter laugh. “What does happiness have to do with anything? Are you happy?”
“Well, no one can be happy all the time. But I consider myself an optimistic person. I expect I will be happy again.”
“Are you…” John licks his lips. “Will you contact her?”
“No. She knows what I am, and doesn’t expect it.”
“Sherlock, I know I was pushing when I said you should… I mean, it’s okay if you don’t want that. I just wish you weren’t so alone.”
“Not so alone. I have you.”
Sherlock resumes walking; John falls into step with him.
“Yeah, a great friend I’ve been.”
“You’re not perfect, John. Neither am I. You shouldn’t hold yourself to an impossibly high standard. Happiness is more important. Do you know,” he says, turning to look at John, “some of my happiest moments have been spent with you.”
John sighs. “We’ve had some good times. I’ll never forget the months we lived together. You saved me. I was so lost, so alone…” Glancing at Sherlock, he smiles wistfully. “Do you remember that night, when we were chasing the cab, and I forgot my cane at the restaurant?” He giggles. “Oh, God. Down alleys, across the rooftops. Welcome to London. That was the most ridiculous thing I’d ever done.”
Sherlock smiles. “Wanna see some more?”
“What are you saying?” John halts.
Sherlock turns and faces him. “Come back. Move in with me, you and Rosie.”
John is gazing at him, his eyes soft. “Do you know what I wished for that night?”
“What did you wish, John?”
He looks down at his feet. “I wished… that I could spend the rest of my days running after you, trying to keep up. Giggling at crime scenes, running all over London, coming home and sitting in the evenings…” He sighs. “It can’t be like it was before. I have a child.”
“Another adventure I look forward to. We’ll hire a nanny, solve all the boring cases, and you’ll write them up for the blog. We’ll be together.” He puts his hands on John’s shoulders. “Come back to me.”
John shakes his head gravely. “You don’t know what you’re asking. Rosie’s a baby, and soon she’ll be toddling around, getting into everything.”
“That’s what babies do. They grow into children, and eventually leave home. And you’ll miss her then. I want to see her grow up, too. I want to be there when you send her off to uni. I want to help plan her wedding, hold your first grandchild. I want to retire to a cottage in Sussex with you and keep bees.”
“Bees?”
“Yes, John. Do keep up. If you don’t like bees, you ought to have plenty of cases to write up by then.”
John brushes tears from his eyes. “What are you saying?”
In answer, he puts his arms around John. “You said love would complete me as a human being. I’m saying, it already has.”
