jegulus | 11/10 - i love them so much. when i rejoined the fandom in 2022 and saw how the ship had blown up in the years id been gone i was really confused, but then i read just lovers and was immediately convinced lmao. they are the epitome of sunshine x grumpy and i adore them both

bartylus | 5/10 - theyre not very compelling to me, but theyre not bad by any means. i think they work better as friends but i understand why people ship them. i just prefer other ships personally, but ive read many great fics with them too!

jegulily | 20/10 - im obsessed with them. i love regulus, james, and lily separately, but together they balance each other out. plus it helps that its a combination of my two most favorite monoamorous ships (jegulus and regulily), like whats not to like? theyre definitely a top tier ship

moonwater | 10/10 - they are so cute and so overhated! theres so much potential here, like they could be friends to lovers or enemies to lovers or rivals to lovers, basically any trope you can think of lol. and think of the angst! the drama! i love them dearly

it was a pleasant midday in the forest of pandora. the sun was blazing brightly and a cool, steady breeze would caress the leaves and flora, giving a melodic tune around you and lo’ak.

your feet were dipped in the crystal clear water of a nearby pond with a tiny stream. your back laid against the plush green grass, arms cushioning your head as you kept your eyes closed and enjoyed the peace. the twittering and humming of the fauna buzzed in your pointed ears making them twitch at every noise.

a touch on your ankles made you flinch and lift your head, elbows pushing your upper body into a half-sitting position. lo’ak’s head peeked over the surface, water lapping at his chin. his eyes shined with a gleam that pulled a lazy smile upon your lips, he always made you feel weightless. he smiled back as he swam closer to the shore.

he crossed his arms as they rested beside your thighs, his head lolling to the side as he stared up at you with a slight raise of his brows and the smile that still sat on his lips. his braids fell over his shoulders, the two with beads covered an eye as they always did. on impulse you leaned over and moved them away, your fingers dragging down lo’ak’s face that stopped at his chin before pulling away.

“we should get back to practicing.” you blurt out as you pull your legs out of the water and move to grab your bow.

“what? oh, come on!” “we have rested long enough, we must train to be mighty warriors for the people.”

with a popped hip you set your hand onto the skin while you hold your bow and arrows beside you. you took the eye roll the boy gave to your reply but watched as he pushed out the water, droplets sliding over his stomach and stripes. they caught your eyes and you were transfixed until a nudge to your shoulder snapped you away.

“see something you like?” his cocky tone made you feel warm but you just rolled your eyes before walking back to the training grounds. his laughter followed behind.

you re-entered the area where lo’ak set up targets to practice your shooting. you did some quick cleaning as you waited for lo’ak to catch up to you, when he was taking forever you decided to start on your own.

so you notched an arrow along the string and pulled with your fingers. you sucked a breath in, making sure your stomach was solid and your arms weren’t wavering. when the moment felt right you released the arrow and it flew straight into the bullseye. you smiled.

“wow! nice shot!” his voice came from above and you looked up into the trees.

he was perched on a low branch with his legs swinging in the air and his tail swaying behind him. his forearms sat on his thighs and he hunched over with his hair dancing in the wind.

“why don’t you come down and show me what you got? Since you’re always bragging.” you held your chin high.

you saw the shake of his head but couldn’t see the smile on his lips or how his eyes sparkled as he stared down at you. he gathered his bow and arrows, and jumped his way down to the forest floor with a muffled thump. he pushed his braids behind his ears before taking your spot.

“watch and learn, syulang (flower).” he said cockily and got into his stance.

you rolled your eyes but ignored the rapid beating of your heart as you watched lo’ak. not taking your eyes off him for a second and letting them wander as he was distracted. you watched how his muscles flexed and his back pulled taunt as he was in an aiming position. his tail skimmed the grass by his feet and his ears twitched now and then if one of the forest creatures cried out.

he stayed in the stance for a while and you were about to speak up just as he let the arrow fly and sink into the bark of the tree, just beside your arrow.

“not bad, not bad. but you were supposed to hit the middle dead on,” you pointed a finger at the arrows, “that is not dead on.”

he scuffed and pointed to said arrow, “sorry, but there seems to be an object in the way. someone forgot to take their arrow back.” he walked to the target and yanked both arrows out, and walked back, handing yours over.

“maybe we should work on some combat. i think our shooting is at its best right now.” you put your bow on the ground and spun to face lo’ak. his eyes just watched you.

“lo’ak? are you fine with combat?” a step forward and he snapped out of his trance.

“y-yeah. combat is fine. but i won’t go easy on you.” he smiled and his fangs poked out. it made your tail waggle.

“wouldn’t be practicing if you went easy on me.” you crouched into a defensive position. the right arm pulled back with your left hand touching the ground. your tail swung low to the grass, shifting over the blades. your ears stood at attention and you watched lo’ak get in a similar position.

it was quiet for a few minutes, both of you waiting to see who would make the first move. when the silence stretches on too long, you get closer to lo’ak and hissed deeply with your fangs showing dominance. he looked thrown off by the display, but it vanished fast and he hissed back and lunged at you.

you rolled out of the way and kept your eyes firmly on his creeping form. your eyes roamed over his body to look for any points of weakness that would allow you to attack. his eyes didn’t look to be fully in the moment, his mind elsewhere and you took advantage. you pounced at the boy, hands latching onto his biceps and throwing him to the ground. the two of you tumbled in the grass and rolled to a stop with you straddling lo’ak and pinning his wrist to the ground.

“that was an easy win. i thought you weren’t going easy on me, syulang?” a smug smile on your face as you let your eyes bounce over lo’ak’s motionless features. your loose hair fell over your shoulders and formed a curtain, hiding your face from outsiders.

he didn’t fight against you or scuff or roll his eyes. he was a blank wall with his eyes following you. you tilted your head, smile slipping. you leaned in closer and peered into his eyes, his widened and you heard the sharp intake of breath.

“did- did i hurt you?” you let up on his wrists, moving back to give him space to breathe.

lo’ak started to shift a bit and you moved your hands from his wrist to sitting on the ground beside his armpits to keep you up. he moved his arms and then pushed himself to his forearms, upper body meeting you halfway.

you stared into each other’s eyes, lo’ak’s golden orbs hypnotizing you into a calm energy. you were so hypnotized that the smirk on his face went ignored by you and the feeling of his legs wrapping around your waist forced you to move off his lap, positions switched. lo’ak straddles you while pinning your wrist down. open mouth and wide-eyed, you were stunned into silence.

“gotcha, paskalin (honey)” lo’ak’s smirk never left his face.

you huffed a laugh, feather top shifting with your breaths. lo’ak’s braids swung in the air, his beads hitting each other as he tilted his head from side to side. you wouldn’t catch his eyes, knowing the heat from his touch would further spread to your face to the tips of your pointed ears.

“wanna go another round?” you heard the smile in his words as the warmth turned to a fire. “uh… uh…” your tail moved off the ground and the furred tip grazed over lo’ak’s leg.

when you made eye contact with the boy still over you, it was like you both could read what the other was thinking. how the sunlight peeking through the leaves shined on them and they were glowing, their eyes staring at each spot on their face making sure to memorize their details. how just a simple touch of skin-to-skin contact makes their heart race quickly. how they so desperately wish to move in closer, breath skating over lips and wishing to know the feeling-

you abruptly pushed lo’ak in the chest when he moved his hands away. he fell to the floor beside you and you quickly jumped off the grass and walked away. you shook your head free of any thoughts coming to fruition, hair tickling your back.

“hey,” his voice made you jump but you turned to him, “you okay? i didn’t hurt you or anything?” his hands reached out for you. his fingers a gentle caress on your cheek.

your eyes softened at the simple touch, “yes. everything is fine. i just- i just got tired suddenly.” a shaky sigh.

his eyes just studied you for a minute or two before nodding his head and picking up the bows and arrows. he handed over yours and the both of you headed back towards home. neither of you spoke up about those moments during combat training.

You left him standing, going to your friends. You had go act like everything was fine. "Hi" You said, coming to the Gryffindor table.

"Hey! " James said. "Hey" You replied back. You sat besides James. "Everything alright? " Asked Remus. Remus, Remus was the most un-oblivius boy in the whole marauder. But you knew you had to reply with "yeah, I'm fine," And 'smiled'.

"Good were coming to the zonko's, you want anything? Or do you wanna come" Asked sirius. "No, I'm good" You said. "Uhm, I need to go to my dorm, uhm goodni, I mean, good morning! " You said going to the Slytherins common room.

You felt a wave of emotions coming through. You couldn't sob in the middle of the great Hall can you, anyone who does that is mental.

While going to the common room, you saw him with Pandora. She was a good friend, but you couldn't help but be jealous.

But it wasn't your place to be jealous was it? He did say 'I love you' but it's nonsense. The only person in the black family that'll like you is sirius, and he's your other brother basically.

Ofcourse you went to your room, and cried. Its as if you broke up with someone, but you Were not dating. It hurts more than that.

You curled up your covers and just try not to think about anything but thats when it hit you. You know he loves you, or so he said, and, you Love him. Why dont you just solve this? But it isnt that easy isnt it.

Having to go to his not-so-good-friend isnt a very good idea, but its theres no choice. Not now, you're not going to talk now.

"Geez y/n, are you alright? " Pandora asked, carrying a bixt. "What the-How did you? What? " You took off your covers.

"I asked some first year to open it for me, 'said I was meeting a friend" Pandora then said "well, Regulus wanted to give you something".

You opened it, and the first thing you saw was a purple pygmy puff. And berties botts beans. And a letter. You opened it.

okay. i love those tiny cluttered museums with a ridiculously specific subject gathered by some rich dude a century ago. beyond that, art/history museums are my favorite! if theres anything interactive in the museum i can stay there for hours and hours and hours. my mom and i had a year-long pass to a local museum that was full of little games and fidgedty bits but then. covid hit. in the march of that year. so we never got to use the pass more then like two times. also my favorite people to go to a museum with are the ones that are really interested in the subject because i can listen to my friends talk for ages (or the ones that let me talk for ages)

but anyways!! i have this all planned out. orpheus = james. hopeful, a singer, sees the world in a golden light and shows it to everyone he meets. regulus = eurydice. a survivor, tired, the world has beaten him down too many times for him to see it gilded except if its james who shows him. hades = pandora. i think pandora should be dark and fucked up and allowed to maybe kill people. this fits her great. lily = persephone. PANDALILY AS HADES AND PERSEPHONE COME ONNNN.

would probably write two differnt fics, one for jegulus’ arc and one for pandalily’s story OR write them both in the same fic, switching back and forth as we go, focusing on jegulus but showing how pandalily’s relationship has changed and such. also planning on writing the fic in the sort of circular manner hadestown is written, starting and ending and starting again.

I feel like I may be cracking open Pandora’s box here but I am intrigued. How did the author of the new Obi Wan series mess up the Tony stark comic you posted about? I love obi wan and this fills me with dread

BOY HOWDY YOU ARE OPENING A GIGANTIC CAN OF WORMS BY SENDING ME THIS ASK

so basically if i had to give a distilled breakdown as to what is wrong with cantwell's iron man run it would be that he has a fundamental misunderstanding of who comics/616-universe tony stark is. the main point of the character, especially in the early comics that cantwell claims he's drawing from, is the duality of his "tony stark" and "iron man" personas. hes pressured to act cold and distant when he's "tony stark" ie the person he presents to the general public, but when he's "iron man" he can be his actual true self, that being a very selfless person that cares deeply and wants to help others . and at his core is a deep-rooted hatred for who he perceives himself to be . it is about the identity issues. the held belief that he is inherently lower than the people around him. the fact that he's more himself by putting on a mask because the Real mask is his "tony stark" persona . first ever iron man issue ever and they call him the most tragic figure on earth and well. yeah

meanwhile cantwell here seems to think that tony stark inherently believes himself to be above everyone else and the real mask is the fact he's trying to "hide his flaws" by becoming iron man. which is so INCREDIBLY incorrect and the best way ever you could write a superhero if and only if you wanted to make a reader hate their guts. heroes are heroes to HELP people and tony is no different! he did not become iron man because he wanted to better himself personally or get recognition from the public! like he has a line where he goes "i'm trying to be better. and maybe i'll be able to look myself in the mirror tomorrow" and i guess cantwell saw this and went "uoughg well i guess this means he wants to improve himself so hes better than everyone i guess". it makes me sooooo mad like how do you look at a character like tony stark and say he has a god complex or is a hero for completely self-centered reasons . if you wanted to write a story about tony realizing his humanity it would have to be about bringing him up and realizing how he isn't below the people he wants to save. not the other way around .

AND THIS IS NOT EVEN GETTING STARTED ON HOW HE WRITES PATSY (THE LOVE INTEREST IN THIS RUN). patsy is there to "call tony out" on his "privilege" which yes cantwell mr white guy of the month let's hear your cutting edge takes on oppression in society through the mouthpiece of this white female character. their romance is honestly kind of disgusting like you have tony sacrificing himself and patsy's like "wow smh you tried to kill yourself so you could get recognition from the public? that was so selfish of you" and tony's like "wow i guess you're right lol" and patsy is the one framed as being in the right. and also theres a scene where patsy's like "you are rich and white and do not understand what it is like to have mental illness" when tony canonically has depression but shes STILL framed as justified for saying this its so . its so. like theyre going to get ENGAGED in one or two issues from now and the narrative doesn't even come CLOSE to acknowledging how toxic this relationship is . what is going ON here . like how is marvel still letting cantwell write this comic . my god

616 tony stark is like . obviously very different from obi-wan besides the whole vibe of "oh my god this guy is so fucked up and sad and has never had anything go right in his life for very long" . but like i don't trust cantwell to write obi-wan because what ive seen of his general character writing so far is just so deeply bad and offensive to the source material and like. just who these characters are in the first place

Saw your post, getting stuff off your chest, I just wanted to say that I haven't seen the thing with the kids mentioned by anyone and it really stood out to me, I feel what you mean to some extent, because for me it was a stronger reaction, albeit you probably won't feel the same and that's, obviously, perfectly fine. I have an instant recoil these days whenever a character is around kids for like one second and everyone instantly goes "THEY LITERALLY ADOPTED THEM/THAT'S THEIR CHILD/THEY'RE A PARENT"... genuinely sick of it, and I went white as a sheet when I heard it, I wanted to pluck my eyes out. I don't know if it's an American thing but English speaking fandoms (well, those teeming with fancops that is) seem like they cannot process adult looking characters being in any near proximity to childlike characters without automatically imposing parenthood and family dynamics and it's becoming distressing to me. I feel like Alucard needed to process his trauma and learn to trust and be whole again, he's young himself too, why he needed to be a "father figure" all of a sudden is beyond me.

Funnily enough I actually do agree with you. I didn’t have quite so strong a reaction, but I definitely had a very similar one when I first hear it.

My feelings were and are a bit mixed. I was saying in my other post that I would have preferred that I got to actually see this interaction; see the kids run by him and call him father, and him smile when no ones looking. I still think that would have been a better, more touching way to do the scene, and would have had more chance of me liking it (though I probably still would have felt very weird about it). (I think it especially would have been better because it would show that Alucard himself liked it, not that Greta was forcing the role on him.) I know that it was meant to be something touching, and pretty much everyone seems to like it (and I have seen some cute posts about it), so I just tried to like it too, and focus on the fact that all they were really trying to say was he was having a nice relationship with the kids, and that was indeed sweet.

But yeah, when I heard Greta say “I heard some of them calling you father” for me it was less a reaction of horror, and more a “HUH??!!”moment. When I heard it I was like “Alucard...you agree with this???!! This is how you see yourself??!!” I almost expected Alucard to refute it and say he didn’t see himself as a father to them. Like I seriously do not see Alucard as anything remotely close to a father figure, and it felt weird and wrong to me.

Like when I saw him interacting with the kids the first time, I didn’t think “oh he’s a father figure to them.” I just thought “yay, Alucard’s playing with some kids, and getting out of his bubble!!” I didn’t have any thoughts as to what his relationship role was with them, I just thought that first interaction was lovely.

And if I saw him interacting with the kids again, I still wouldn’t go “father figure” I’d just be like “yay, Alucard’s playing with the kids again, how sweet!!”

Sometimes the relationship doesn’t need a role or a label, ya know?

And I thought it was especially strange because…he literally just met them?? Like how can they possibly start calling him father when he’s played with them once or twice? Regardless of Alucard’s side or things, what group of kids would randomly call a nice man they just met ‘father’? Is...Is this a normal thing??

Anyways, back to Alucard’s side of things, Sypha’s line about Alucard being a teenager trapped an adults body has always been something that stuck with me and shaped how I view Alucard. I definitely view him as internally much younger than he looks. No matter how much I might hate them for what they did to him, I think Sumi and Take are about the age he actually is, and their relationship with him made sense to me. He’s still a kid—or at least young—he still needs his parents in his life, really. (That’s part of why I didn’t like that Drac and Lisa don’t go to him at the end. I personally don’t think Alucard really got closure, and in my mind I think he still very much needed them, and that would have been the perfect ending to his story in my mind, where everything comes full circle; He was forced to lose his parents and grow up too early, and only when he’s started to truly grow up does he get them back.) So yeah, I really don’t see him like a father at all. One of my main focuses in my Castlevania fanfiction is his relationship with Dracula, so I very much see him as the son, not as the dad, even when Drac isn’t around.

(Sidenote, come to think of it, I think this is another reason why Greta x Alucard is a nope from me. She’s very much an adult, so I just see a discrepancy between them that makes me feel weird about them being in a romantic relationship. If we need a label I feel like she fits as an older sister for him, guiding him and giving him support. Him unloading all his problems on her within just meeting her makes more sense if he’s like a younger brother who needs to cry to his sister. I felt weird about it in a romantic context when it was so fast. I mean I know he was desperate to talk to someone, and I probably would have done the same, but still).

I was honestly really hoping they’d go in depth into him dealing with his trauma, and how he’s still hurting from the wounds of it, and how he needs to heal. I thought that’s what his S4 arc would be about. I don’t think they gave him the chance to really process and work through everything that happened. (Again, I don’t think him just unloading all his problems on a nice stranger is truly working through his trauma. I would have much rather watched him struggle to trust her, and him telling her about his trauma happen later, and be difficult for him, and a deep, heartfelt moment).

Like I was saying in my other post, I think if they framed his arc in how he dealt with the town collectively, I think that would have fit better, and been more touching and satisfying. I would have liked to see him struggling to trust humans, and then see as time progressed how several different people in the town liked him and meant him no harm, and how he realized he could trust them, and that he liked them too. It wasn’t that he had a bad romantic partner and needed a new one. He believed he needed to be punished for killing his father, and in his deep loneliness he let these kids into his house and heart, and they turned on him because he was half vampire. That’s something pretty deeply ingrained, and not something a new romance just fixes by existing. He needed to work through that in a much deeper way.

I know this is gonna be a very unpopular opinion, and it's totally cool if you disagree, but in a weird way... I sort of disliked Alucard’s ending. Don’t get me wrong, Im glad he’s happy, and I’d certainly prefer it to him just getting more trauma like last season (*shudders*), and I don’t think him opening up his castle (and his heart) to humanity is a bad way to end his story, certainly not. I think that fits. And my heart did melt a bit at the "I'm weirdly happy" scene. But, where everyone else is like “*sobbing* happy endings for all our faves” ...I see the creators of the show trying to wrap everything up in a neat little bow, and while that’s certainly not all bad, I don’t love every aspect of that. Theres a time and place for that, but a show based on video games, for which there’s more content in these storylines isn’t one of them in my mind.

Sometimes some of the sadness needs to linger. At the very least, let it linger at the beginning of the season so you can work through it in a powerful way, you know? It may have been tough to see Alucard be more closed off, but I think it would have been more satisfying to see him open up his heart and go back to his old self if we saw his trauma leave lingering effects at the beginning.

To me it didn’t feel like a satisfying arc, it felt like the fairytale ending of “oh look he’s not apprehensive about humanity even after what happened! Oh look he got the girl! And the Castle’s a happy place now! Look he’s not sad anymore! He’s even a father figure to these kids! He’s totally moved on!” And all those things can be awesome when done properly, and when they have depth to them. But they didn’t work through the trauma to get there, so it felt surface level to me, and too fast. I really liked that first episode, and how we saw the two sides of him—one that's become more closed off, and the other that still buries the human despite his comments—and I also really liked the first interaction with the kids, and thought that was one of the few interactions that had depth to it and fit with his arc well. Having it go beyond “they’re helping him learn to like and trust humanity again, and displaying who he really is inside” ended up detracting from the power of his relationship with them in my mind.

Having played SOTN, I think an ingrained loneliness and sadness are, in a way, a key part of Alucard’s character. That sounds really sad and awful out loud but…there are some people that just have a sadness or a loneliness to them, and that's not entirely bad. Here’s the thing…it can make them that much more beautiful. The fact that they still fight for good, even when they see all the dark, those moments when they find true friends, despite how alone they are, those moments when they are happy, are so much more powerful. They just are always a bit…separate from other people. One of my favorite lines in anything is the line "We are connected by our darkness, not by our light" in Pandora Hearts. I think it's a line that fits Alucard well, and it’s always something that’s drawn me personally to him. Don't get me wrong, I don’t think Alucard’s all dark and sad and lonely, he’s definitely got a bright side to him too, of course he does. But I also don't think he ever is able to fully accept the vampire side of himself, and I find that interesting, and worth exploring. Personally I was honestly hoping for the show makers to come up with a bittersweet reason for why he went to sleep for 300 years, (and I thought that's why they set things up with Sumi and Taka that he’d have something against his vampire nature). Personally it felt like they were trying to say “oh he’s all better now, he’ll never be sad or lonely again” and while that’s nice I suppose…for me it sort of…stops feeling like Alucard, in a way? I don't know if I'm explaining it right, or if that sounds terrible...😅

Anyways, back to the topic at hand. I do agree that’s very common of fandom that people are like “boom! Just add water! Instant father figure!” and I don’t love it either. Sometimes it can be cute if it truly fits, but it doesn’t fit every relationship between an adult-looking character and a kid character, and shouldn't be the first place people go to. In the same way every relationship doesn’t have to be romantic, not every relationship has to be parental/familial either. Sometimes it feels like fandom culture isn't really okay to have some characters just be good friends. A good friendship can be more wonderful than a romance sometimes.

If we have to put a label on it, I think he seemed like a nice older brother figure to them? I think that fits who he is in my mind. But father? Nope. Not for me. And again, I don’t think it needs a label.

Brothers anon and I actually was skipping through the official City of Mizu episode and realized I missed Skeppy as a idol. So if you follow Skeppy you get to learn about different kinds of gems and what they can be used for, get trained on proper safety when mining, what to look for and avoid when mining, and they also get to go on supply runs that specifically require mining, though not many people follow Skeppy because mining is dangerous. Also I missed Charles personality a good bit so ima change it to where he's still quite, reserved and anxious, but is adventurous, curious, dedicated to his interests, and when given the chance or talking about his interests he gets very excited and talks a lot. Like a excited puppy. 

1: People can get kicked out of a idol following for many reasons, like disrespecting the idol and their peers, claiming some of the history their learning is fake, attacking anyone in the city (like stabbing, they just get chastised for fist fights), and breaking multiple rules of the city. And some people don't choose a idol, though its highly unlikely as those who don't know what idol to pick tend to pick Tommy or Tubbo. Those who choose not to choose a idol, tend to only work in farming, as its a easy job to learn. Its for these people that the idol-less council member was added, the council member also represent other cities and kingdoms that do still acknowledge and trade with Mizu. Most houses are actually built out of the side, like how we saw the idol rooms in the official episode, and their kind of scattered about, theres some halls filled with homes, but some halls have no homes. The halls with the homes tend to be the biggest/widest halls of the city, as to allow for room for the families living there, and also because theres sometimes stores in this area. Some halls also have multiple levels to allow for more room, these specific halls are referred to as Residential Complex, and only house homes in their multiple levels. While halls that hold only a few homes arent called anything special. Because outside affairs are very complex, most kingdoms and cities ignore Mizu, treating them with disgust and some times, people who have done supply runs that go into cities have reported having higher prices on what they want to buy, and disrespect from all citizens and police. But some kingdoms and cities respect them and trade with them without any tricks. The councils main agurement in this situation is that, the nice city is very far away, a weeks travel, but the mean city is close, only a 2 day walk away. They agure about what to do and what city to travel too for all supply runs. And another agurement that the council often has is what to do with visitors, they had visitors in the past that had destroyed and stole items in Mizu while causing disruptions, but some also brought their own culture and items and happily exchanged said culture and items. So their conflicted on if visitors should be welcomed or turned away. 

3: He went through what Ranbob did, being held to high standards that he just couldn't meet. But unlike Ranbob, he spoke up about his problems and managed to get held to lesser standards and allowed time to recover. When he moved out he originally lived on his own in a forest, and because he was vulnerable to monsters he didn't know how to handle, he had to make many fast paced despite when cornered by monsters or when trying to save crops or his house. And since he was also the oldest child of a 6 child family, he had to constantly look after his siblings, giving him his father-like attitude and knowing how to help people in basically almost any situation. His siblings are (current ages) Nick-17, calm, information nerd, introverted and Benjamins favorite brother. Rock-10, a tiny gremlin that loved to mess with people, he often broke bones or broke items when playing due to his rough play style and broke rules, Benjamin was the only one who could calm him. Ion-16, a teen that is very adventurous and always wandering off, she always talked about traveling the world, the hardest one for Benjamin to keep track of. Stellar-13, in love with space, but other than that is a normal child, but she also has a fascination with monsters like enderman, often wondering where they come from, Benjamin doesnt have any strong opinions on her.  And finally, Juka-15, they are very invested in redstone, often experimenting on it and trying to make different things with it, often the stuff they make blows up, Benjamin admires Juka's persistence and love for redstone but also wishes they'd stop blowing up the damn kitchen. 

8: Totems do exist, their just so rare its not believed Techno managed to have and use one. So that part of the story got lost and left out over time. Pandoras vault has fallen, mostly because of a break out by Dream that destroyed most of it, and because it had fallen into disrepair. And they do have such advanced technology to make such a prison now, but they doubted the SMP had such technology and availability to do it in their time. And there is also a great lack of evidence (expect for the actual building, but even then people agure it was used for something else) supporting the existence of Pandoras Vault. 

Ran and Ranbob used to feel confused and hurt, not understanding why the world hated their home and why the world was so mean to them. Over time they learned why they where shunned, but still didn't completely understand. Eventually they grew used to it, and learned to avoid saying where they lived, unless they wanted to partake in a fight. They very very rarely say that they came from Mizu, as they had learned long ago from both classes and personal experience. But a few times it was revealed they lived in Mizu, they had to just endure it and move along, even though Ran really wanted to punch a fucker. They became friends when Charles went to him during the trip to the flower field, asking to join in on a game he was playing. Its a miracle the two didn't get a heart attack tbh.

10: He was not! Ranbob was too weak for Dream to access all of his powers. And Dreams constant hold of control and withholding food and all the essentials from him, made him even weaker. No one is aware of it, not even Ranbob. A mix of pissed, a weird sort of pride, and determination. The pride and determination is there because knowing Dream thinks that way of them, confirms that they're enough of a threat that Dream actually acknowledges them. And helps them believe that they could truly beat Dream if they tried. Though it also means Dream will try his damned best to kill them. 

13: Yeah he comes out on top, he still has some advantages over the others even without tatics, like his speed and he knows how to sneak around and use the area to his advantage pretty well. 

14: He seemed more finicky, more nervous and anxious. Constantly trying to seperate himself from the group when he tends to stay very close by. And more on edge/quick to snap at others.

 Ayy! Starting off with Skeppy and Charles, what a wonderful way to begin. How did Skeppy’s few followers mine? Were there mines under the sea floor? Did they travel out of Mizu to go find mines in the earth? 

1: Hm, interesting. The idol-less leader seems to have quite a bit on their shoulders, if they deal with all outside affairs. Were they specifically selected to learn their position? Since you said most of them farm, but all those politics and stuff seem kind of different from it. Does Ranbob remember any of the nice cities? Did either boy ever meet a former visitor that recognized them from back then?

3: Benjamin’s family sounds really cool. Does the gang ever get to meet them? If so, how do they get along with them?

8: Huh. Well, how about Woodland Mansions? What happened to those, to make totems so rare? So Pandora still stands today? Cool. Does the gang ever come across it? Where would it be located-or well, what areas would be around it? Is it used for anything else nowadays?

And that sucks. If this happens while the brothers are at odds with each other, do they still help each other out with it, since they’re being mocked about their home, or do they just ignore it, and such. How do their respective groups feel both about them being from Mizu, and how they’re treated for it, both before and after the two hauntings started to merge? Did it effect how they thought of them in anyway?

And that sounds cute. What game was it, and who won? 

10: Hmm. Was Dream aware he was causing Ranbob to become weaker, or was he that out of touch with human needs? Also, I think I remember way back then, you mentioned this part of Dream was the evil bits that survived his death.

What do you think would happen if they somehow managed to end up seeing the good parts, maybe with a similar artifact that Ranbob found in your supposed fluff?

im actually really interested to see how tubbo will react. knowing his character, I assume theres going to be lots of regret and loads of guilt, but itll be interesting to see how he'll act on those feelings.

i think the canon assumption based off sam telling tubbo is denial because cc!tubbo was extremely tired and not ready to be thrown into lore and based of his stream, c!tubbo was just in heavy denial.

as for repercussions, those are quite interesting to think about. i've been hyperfocused on magpies and their symbolism like all night but also cats and their symbolism. cats themselves symbolize rebirth and ressurection and sometimes even magic. dream had called the cat hope. tommy had essentually killed hope (from dream's pov). which is another interesting thing to think about.

but also the server seems to follow greek mythology at times, as shown by the story of theseus and by pandora's vault being named what it is. however, it's never really followed to a T. if it was, tommy would have died long ago by techno's hands.

though there is one person who seems to follow greek mythology pretty closely. that being dream with eris' myths. now, eris was the goddess of strife and discord and she was most known to have started the trojan war with the apple of discord (which was golden, and dream always had golden apples). not to mention in hesiod's works and days, there were two different goddesses named eris. one brought good strife and the other brought bad strife. theoretically dream season 1 and dream season 2-3 or dreamxd and dream.

in hesiod's theogony, eris had children, all of which are essentually the things that dream himself brought to the server. (neikea - quarrels ;; makhai - wars ;; dysnomia - anarchy ;; amphillogaiai - disputes ;; etc etc) now, obviously dream cant have children. however each of eris' children are things that dream has caused. so if you think about it, the only thing dream has yet to bring to the server is horkos, or oath, "who most afflicts men on earth, then willing swears a false oath."

i dunno i find it interesting dream either consciously or subconsciously has been following the mythology of eris this entire time

very huge spoiler warning for v’s after end! just wanna give some of my Thoughts

it is very late over here and ive juuust finished one of the endings (560 hourglasses! miscalculated before! holy shit!) and i have a few. feelings. about it. gonna keep it all under the cut so check it out if youre interested uwu

now i’m gonna start at the top with all the Good, and then we’ll keep descending down the line ajhdgcvkjgf

The Good:

- the artwork! god bless everyone on the art team!! it was all Spectacular and the shading could break into my house and stomp me dead and id thank it

- the voice acting! theres a lot of high-tension scenes in this end, and i think everyone handled them all amazingly! i feel like at this point they’ve all gotten a really good grasp of how each character responds to each situation, and you can really hear the different ways they approach their character’s mannerisms and aiughjsjc Basically Its Very Good

- the translation work! if anything this after end gave us a lot of really good and - uhhh for lack of a better word - Deep dialogue, and the translations definitely captured the sentiment to a poetic T. rarely did any lines sound stiff, so definitely props to them there! translating is So Hard guys and they did so well!!

- the reunion between the two Forbidden Twins! AMAZING and SHOWSTOPPING and BREATHTAKING and even though it was SHORT it did exactly what it was trying to do!!!!! which is!!!!! make my sad little heart feel emotions!!!!! i was feelin pretty numb and confused for most of the after end but then the two twins saw each other and my heart jumped out of my chest and it went skinnydipping 

- im a SUCKER for “where are they now” montages and v’s after end did about the most cliched ‘they get a kid’ version but YOU KNOW WHAT the kid was ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT and she is a tiny little criminal goblin who stole my heart and wont give me any refunds 

- lucy: makes any kind of noise me, absolutely sobbing: fuck everyone else i respect YOU

The Not So Good Ouch Parts:

i actually only really have one big complaint about this ending and it’s that. i don’t really know why it exists like. i don’t get why it unfolded this way. it kinda overshadows the conclusion of ray’s route and now im gonna try explain myself in human language instead of annoyed monkey speak

- two things that happen in v’s after end -- the twins reuniting, serving the Tea abt the prime minister -- were promised to take place in ray’s after end, and it was ray’s route that properly and primarily set up the foundations for these events to happen. because yknow. the prime minister was a key player in ray’s route. and i may be remembering incorrectly but i don’t think he was mentioned at all in v’s.

- while i am On The Moon to know that saeran’s alive, it really just seemed like more of a copout than anything, especially considering the amount of time they spent establishing seven’s guilt and his torment regarding his brother (and the pacing seems somewhat stiff when you take into account that they spent 3 episodes on Seven Going Sicko Mode and a fifth of an episode on Seven Seeing Saeran Again). bringing him to life (wake me up inside) undid a lot of that emotional setup. it relieved a small bit of tension for a Temporary Moment Of Really Nice Things, while simultaneously creating a lot more questions in the process. 

- basically all i’m trying to say is that if they’ve already covered all these plotpoints - even including rika’s redemption arc - then my concern lies in what they have left for ray’s after end. it seems a bit like they’ve taken the elements that made ray’s after end worth anticipating, and shoved them into v’s after end for... user satisfaction?

- i get in theory that ray’s route was meant to expand on saeran’s character as a whole, but ray’s route also had the alluring concept of the twins reuniting, and they also spent a good chunk of time establishing the Prime Minister Pandora Box subplot, as opposed to v’s after end just shoehorning in rika’s youtube speech (which Definitely gave me ray route vibes)

- all in all, it just feels a bit like the existence of v’s after end nullifies the need for ray’s route in the first place. although saeran isn’t exactly in Tip Top shape in this after end like he’d be in his own route, he still gets to the same destination: road to recovery, reunited with his brother. if v’s route has already explored this, then is there really anything for ray’s after end to bring to the table?

- thinking more optimistically, though, i suppose ray’s after end would focus more on the twins, rather than rika. thats still content! just not exactly what i thought itd be

tl;dr: v’s after end was aesthetically pleasing but overall very confusing and v wasn’t even there for like 90% of it

My Favorite Movies of 2018

There were a bunch of movies I loved in 2018, a year in which it felt like there was a little something of everything, from one of the best action movies I’ve seen in a while (Mission: Impossible- Fallout) to innovative horror (A Quiet Place) and resplendently fresh romantic comedy (Crazy Rich Asians). In addition to those, there were insightful documentaries (Come Inside My MInd and Won’t You Be My Neighbor examining the lives of Robin Williams and Fred Rogers respectively, not to mention the excellent Free Solo), a dramedy inspired by real events (The Death of Stalin, featuring Steve Buscemi at his very best as Nikita Khrushhchev), a successful adaptation of a weird, alternative Western story (The Sisters Brothers), and a haunting sci-fi film that transmuted many elements of our world and future into something both frightening and moving (Annihilation).

It’s perhaps old hand at this point to say we are in peak comic book movie times, but I’ve been wondering lately if that’s especially the case with 2018, and if it will perhaps go down as the high water-mark of the era. You have the landmark Black Panther film, which righteously changes the game in terms of the diversity of blockbuster films and does so in a thrilling fashion, as well as Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse, which beyond its obviously jaw-dropping animation also features a diverse array of characters and engaging meta-comic book narrative. Of course there is the big meteor that was Avengers: Infinity War, which, if for nothing else was commendable sheerly for bringing so many plotlines and characters together into one movie to end all movie.

Perhaps the most enjoyable experiences for me in this realm, though, were from some unexpected sources in Venom and Aquaman. Despite being panned by a lot of critics, I thought Venom was actually a really entertaining and different type of superhero flick, almost like the cinematic equivalent of Jack White’s Boarding House Reach album—unrepentantly weird and surprisingly existing on the blockbuster, mainstream scale. Not to mention great performances by Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams, which you don’t often get in these types of films, and my favorite restaurant scene of the year bar none. I was also pleasantly surprised by Aquaman, which is anchored by Jason Momoa’s great title role performance (think Schwarzenegger/Rock hybrid), and James Wan’s steady direction, sense of action scene pacing, and use of considerable horror filmmaking chops (he also directed the first two Conjuring films and Saw), particularly the scene when Aquaman and Mera (Amber Heard) escape a legion of sea monsters swarming around the screen like some unholy hell released by a Pandora’s box.

When all is said and done here, though, Vice really stands out to me above the rest. If 2018 and the past few years have shown us anything, it’s that it’s become harder and harder to ignore and/or escape from reality and not feel depressed by everything. In that case, there’s an ever-more pressing need to confront the truths of the world head on, how we got here and where we may be going, and to use art as an unceasing ally in that effort. Vice shows how you can do that with film.

Jimin Scenario: You Were Beautiful.

Genre: Romance.

For Jimin thinking about you, thinking about your relationship, all the events, all the moments you lived together was like watching a movie, a bit shy and slow at the beginning, romantic and full of happiness at the middle, like all the movies it had had its conflicts, without a conflict how could a movie be interesting? Yours hadn’t been a boring relationship, you had had your bumps but overall Jimin smiled when thinking of it, only that in this movie he already knew the end, and unfortunately this one had ended bad for him.

Laying on his back on his bed he thought about you, as he did most of the nights, and not only because he felt lonely, but because he couldn’t erase the custom of waiting for that “Goodnight” text, always accompanied by an “I love you!”, you’d never forget to send it and Jimin had never stopped waiting for it even after you broke up.

Jimin took his phone and went through the little routine of checking out social media, instagram, twitter and all that, answering a few things, reposting others. Then he ended up where he always did, your contact number and the empty conversation, your last connection had been just a few minutes ago so you were probably awake. He wondered what could he say, if he could say anything at all, how to start a conversation and not made it all awkward and lame. He didn’t know, he just wondered if he would be able to have enough courage to talk to you again, he wondered if you ever thought of him like he did of you. Because he always did, specially at night, Jimin hadn’t failed to realize every time he let his mind wander a little it always went to you, what your relationship had been, the things you did, the things you were. 

He sighed, staring at your picture some more before going into his gallery, it was hard knowing he still had all these pictures and videos of you, Jimin liked to think he was ready to move on but every time he encountered with the decision of deleting these files he found out he couldn’t.

His fingers moved across the screen and he pressed play, he knew very well how the video went on but the squeal you let out on second four always made him giggle. You were out in the snow, a little sky trip that at that moment had left you with sore muscles, a certain cold but more in love than ever. Jimin was the one filming, he listened to his own voice as he saw the video he had taken, the beautiful snowy landscape and in the center you, laughing and doing silly faces.

-You look pretty Y/N, aren’t you a snow angel?-

-I am an angel, you’re right on that-

He heard himself laugh at your flirty tone. -My angel-

-I will show you my wings- you said before laying down on the snow.

Jimin laughed in the video. -What are you doing?-

-I am an angel, aren’t I?- you said as you moved your arms and legs drawing in the snow. The video was unfocused for a moment, Jimin remembered he hadn’t been able to not kiss you after that, he crouched down, putting the camera aside not even noticing that it would capture your kiss or the sound of your laughter after that. He sighed as the video ended, in all his memories you had been beautiful.

You hadn’t ended up in bad terms, in fact, if you were to meet right now Jimin would be sure you’d greet each other with a smile, which left him wondering, why had you broken up to begin with?

He was getting out of the gym, working out after his job to then head home were he would pass out smashed, not without seeing the videos, not without thinking about you and your relationship.

At the moment it had seemed like your relationship couldn’t go on beyond of what it was. High school sweethearts that encountered with a world that was bigger than expected, college had taken a lot from both of you and Jimin guessed while living that world you had drifted apart.

But you never met after that, not even once, which led him to think that you were somehow avoiding each other, he had thought it would be better that way since he couldn't undone breaking up with you, he had thought that you wouldn’t really want to do anything with him. But Jimin had also came to realize that those were lies, he wanted to see you, every day he wanted to and thus he reached for those videos. He had lost you because he thought his future was something else, but what if he was wrong? Jimin didn’t want to think he had ended your relationship over something you could have overcome. 

But what if he was right? Then that meant these videos were the last memories he would live next to you. It made him sad, it made him be disappointed with himself.

That night Jimin saw another video, in this one he was yet again filming you, he did that quite a lot actually, you sometimes joked it was his kink which got Jimin laughing way too loud and blushed to his neck. He recognized the place, the streets of Hongdae at night, full of people, sounds and light but the camera only followed you as you spoke about a movie you had just seen. Then you got excited after seen a display of clothes in a closed store.

-How is a store closed in Hongdae?- you nagged getting closer to the glass.

-It’s pretty late jagi-

His present self laughed too, how much had you made him laugh? Always, you had this thing, this spark that no other girl he had met had.  How could he ever thought he would get over this kind of feeling? 

Jimin realized that night he was a fool, he was more focused on his own things now but at the same time the thoughts of you were flooding him constantly. It had been a bit more than six months since the last time he saw you and still just the thought of you had his heart beating faster.

The next morning he woke up still feeling like a fool, if he talked about this with his best friend Taehyung he would reassure him he was a fool, his friend was a strong believer of true love and had told him he’d regret breaking up with you. Jimin regretted it, but did you?

Maybe you had moved on, Jimin kept tracks on you to some point, he knew you weren’t seeing someone, a least not something public. The thought of you with someone else made a sour flavor appear in his mouth, he wouldn’t like that one bit, but then you being or not with someone else didn’t mean you wanted him. Jimin sighed, he thought if he should just call you, or not, calling might be too strong, a text, something simple. But then he felt too awkward, too nervous of what might  happen. At that time you had agreed to the break up, easily, like you were feeling the same as him. But did the feeling fade away or maybe the same thing as him happening to you, maybe you were the same and couldn’t  stop thinking about him. Him following you with a smile, telling you how pretty, how gracious you were. He wanted you to know, to at least know that he couldn’t get you out of his head, that the memories were on him, repeating in those videos, replaying nonstop in his mind.

Jimin was now sitting in front of his laptop, this time the video showed you singing, it was a KARA song, you didn’t sing that well and your dance moves were improvised, but you put all your effort in the performance and it showed you were having the time of your life while doing it, he had adored seeing it and he remembered how every time you went to the karaoke you two would have a blast. 

You sang and made flirty faces for him, making it all an spectacle just for him, at the end getting your chin over your shoulder as you threw him a kiss. Jimin spend quite a while in front of the computer, going through videos and photos of you two, a selfie of you two at the movies, that one time he took you to a romantic date at the park because it was your birthday, Jimin had documented all your relationship and seeing it now he couldn’t believe all these moments were a waste. Whatever you might feel at the present Jimin was sure he would always remember you as you were at that time, as you would always be.

You went to work that morning not expecting something out of the ordinary would ever happen, your life was nothing more than routine these past few months, totally focused on college and your job it was hard not to, even when you felt there was something that was missing. 

You opened your email as it was the first thing you did to check if your boss had sent anything new or you had a new assignation, and as usual you did, but besides that you saw something else. You let your cup of coffee aside as you read the name of the message again, the person who had sent it.

You didn’t say his name out loud but your lips spelled it. Park Jimin.

You frowned lightly clicking on it, watching behind your back and at your side checking there wasn’t anyone around yet. It was a zip file so you had to wait a bit for it to download, your boot tapped the floor impatiently as you waited for it and then you saw the folder’s content, at first with your mouth agape and then with your hand over your nosee and mouth trying to hide whatever expression you might be having at the moment, you weren’t sure of how you felt seeing this but as you clicked on more files. the image of you singing on a terrible pitch Kara’s Pandora made you giggle loudly and then you laughed seeing all the footage he had on you, all the moments you had lived and wouldn’t ever be forgotten.

 You playing with water pistols, pictures of you two at the park. You had done a lot of things together, lived a lot of things together. Jimin was constantly in your mind, no matter the time you knew he would always be.

You weren’t sure what this meant, him sending you all this, but you bit your finger and felt yourself blushing lightly whenever you appeared kissing either on video or photos, you had a lot of those. 

-His kink- you whispered laughing again, as you used to tease him about it.

You were curious to know why Jimin had sent this, if he ever thought of you, why he kept all this. But in the email there was only one sentence, it didn’t answer all your questions but in a way it made you feel warm inside, it made you smile and bite your lip suddenly with a mix of happiness and nostalgia. You read it again.

Season 1 Mission 14: Patient 29

A few days later Charlotte was helpping Jody with some inventory of the yarn pile she had found in a previous run.  She had been watching Jody knitting and was trying to understand exactly how she was making such beautiful pieces but she kept making knots.  

"No you don't put it under the needle you put it over it."  Jody says trying to correct Charlotte's work as a knock came to their door.  "Come in at your own risk."  Jody says with a smile.

Sam stepped in and smiled at the two of them.  "Well you two look like your having fun."

Charlotte shakes her head.  "Jody is a wizard with this yarn.  I'm the ogre that can't understand a pearl from a knit.  I'm just going to leave this to you."  She said getting her handing her the horrid  excuse for a scarf.

"Look out Charlotte I will make a knitter out of you yet."  Jody said with a giggle as Charlotte walked over to Sam.  

"So what's going on?"  Charlotte asked.

"Maxine needs you for a run."  Sam whispers softly.

"Another one?  This is about Patient 29 right?"  Charlotte asked softly as Sam nodded.  "I'll get ready then."

"I'll be in there with her this time."  Sam says as he gently led Charlotte out of the room.  

"That's good to hear.  I like listening to you."  Charlotte said walking with him.  

Sam chuckled.  "So you like hearing a bumpling idiot who sometimes actually knows what he's doing?"

Charlotte smiles kissing his cheek.  "It's endearing.  You wear your heart on your sleeve and it's very easy to read how your feeling.  Even when it's just your voice.  It's nice."

Sam looks at her.  "Maxine said that your fiance was rather cold towards you.  Or something to that effect."

Charlotte breathes slowly.  "Yeah... then again he rarely showed emotion past determination.   He was very driven to succeed."

"Sounds like my dad would have loved him."  Sam says as they walked over to the packs.  Charlotte grabbed her pack and axe as Sam watched her.  "I'll go make sure everything with Maxine is ready."  Sam said kissing her lips softly before walking off.

"He's really smitten with you."  A girl said as she was mending one of the packs.

Charlotte looked over smiling.  "Yeah... I think the feeling is mutual."

"Oh here's your head set."  The girl said handing her a headset and transmiter.  Charlotte got it set up before hearing Sam talking to  Maxine.  The gates raised with the gun fire coming right after it.  Charlotte took off down the path as the wind blew strands of hair around her.

"Look, you're sure you haven't made a mistake?"  Sam questioned.

"Look for yourself."  Maxine said.

"So, we're suppoused to be looking for the records of..." Sam rifled through the papers.  "We don't have a name for them..."

"Patient 29.  The patient Paula told us about on the recording - patient zero."  Maxine said.

"Well I knew that part but... patient 29 is also patient zero?"  Sam chuckles softly.  "I know I was always going to fail my engineering degree, but even to me, that seems like bad math.

Maxine laughs softly.  "He was named Patient 29 in the records.  We call him patient zero because we think he was the first person to become a zombie.

"So what are we going with?  Patient 29?  Patient Zero? or..."  Sam puts on an annoucer voice.  "The First of the Living Dead!"  He starts to laugh.

"Patient 29.  Now just look through the files."  Maxine said as Sam rifled through the papers.

"Okay, they're in order, with photos attached.  Patient 27 - Tom Evans.  Patient 28 - Parvati Shu.  Wow, look at that photo. Hello Parvati."  Sam said almost seductively.

Charlotte rolled her eyes.  Sam had looked a few of the old magazines they had and would have that same reaction to a pretty model.  "Stop drooling Sam."

"That's not... Oh, yeah, I hear that, mm... Anyway, just carry on!"  Maxine said somewhat uncomfortably.

"Patient 30 - John Biship.  Patient 31 - "  Sam kept going before Charlotte blinked.

"Uh... Sam.  I think you missed something."  Charlotte said as she continued to head down the path.

"Notice anything?"  Maxine asked leadingly.

"Well apart from Parvati's, um..." Sam questions.

"Patient 27, Patient 28, Patient 30, Patient 31..."  Maxine slowly says.

"No Patient 29!  Or, did you... take the file out already?"  Sam questioned softly.

"No but someone did.  Someone knew this file was important and got there ahead of us.  I think I have an idea who.  And that's what we need Runner Five to check out today."  Maxine said.

"So Runner Five!  Because it's a very special assignment today, we've got you a very special piece of kit."  Sam said with a grin.

"And what is that?  It's not another type of noise maker is it?"  Charlotte asked.

"Nope.  It's a head cam.  Find a quiet spot and reach into your pack.  There should be a clip on camera that you can put onto your headset."  Sam said as Charlotte looked around seeing no zombies around for the moment.  She reached into her pack and pulled out the camera.  She connected it to the transmitter then clipped it to the side of her headset right next to her right eye.  

"Alright I got it on.  How does it look?" Charlotte looks around.

"Looks good.  Mostly it's so the doctor can take a look and see what you see when you're inside a building, and partly because it's just cool!  Am I right?"  Sam asked laughing softly.

"Janine was kind enough to fix it up for us, so uh, we're doing some testing for her too."  Maxine said as Charlotte threw her pack back on and ran off.

"And uh, where are we heading today with this amazing piece of practically priceless technology?  I say 'we' I mean Runner Five, because you, the doctor, are too valuable to risk and I-" Sam started.

"You're valuable right here."  Maxine presses.

"-an I have trouble with lefts and rights.  And finding my way anywhere.  And geography in general, now that there's no more satnav."  Sam continued with a chuckle.

"Valuable right here, like I say.  We're heading to the Keeley Center, on the far side of town."  Maxine said as Charlotte changed course a bit heading towards the edge of town.  

"Hmm... What's that?  Why?"  Sam asked.

"You know I've been here when I get a chance, listening to Paula's message again?"  Maxine said sadly.

"Yeah, it's fine.  You can listen as... well, as often as I can make space for you."  Sam reminded.

"One night, I left it play and at the end of the recording, theres a last track.  I thought it was blank, but actually, theres a long gap, maybe 15 minutes?  And then, there's... Well I'll queue it up for you, so you can hear it yourself.  Runner Five keep going!  You're heading in the right direction.  I'll find Paula's secret message and play it for you as soon as I have it."  MAxine said as she began fiddling in the back ground.

Charlotte continued to run as she could feel the air beginning to show signs of being fall.  She always loved fall  with the changing colors and the cooling air.

"Theres a couple of zoms off to your right Five."  Sam said as Charlotte looked over seeing a shambler and two crawlers.  She quickly headed away from them still on the path for the Keeley Center.

"Okay I've got it.  Listen."  Maxine said starting up the CD.  Paula's voice began ringing into her head set.

"I haven't got much time. Listen - something weird is going on.  We're down to our last few people here.  They choppered some out yesturday, and they said they'd come back for the rest of us, but so far we haven't heard anything.  and this morning, I woke up early.  Can't sleep with that blasted noise.  And I found one of the researchers burning his notes.  I stopped him, asked him what the hell he was thinking.  Even if we die here, we leave them in waterproof bags, someone else might find them."  Paula said in a quick breath.  "And he said that Professor Van Ark at Pandora Haze had been on the radio overnight and told him to destroy them!  To destroy all the evidence we found that the zombie virus is linked to our VS-72, our cell regeneration research.  It makes no sense.  That's not true - it makes one kind of sense.  Van Ark is trying to cover something up.  So look..."  Paula pauses.  "Try the Tessandori lab first, but that's Van Ark's lab.  If he's told us to destroy our research, he'll have told them to get rid of theirs as well.  So otherwise, go to the Keeley Center, the government place.  They were supposed to just look over our files and return them,  but I know that more than once they actually copied files before they gave them back.  Try there.  We need to find PAtient 29 in the VS-72 trail.  If you can find out what was different about him, you might find out how all of this happened."  Paula's voice stops as Maxine sighs softly.

"Hmm... Okay, that's simple enough.  And did she say... who'd been choppered out?  Wait, I think that-"  Sam started.

"You know we can't think like that, Sam."  Maxine interrupts him.

"Yeah, yeah, I know... Sorry."  

"Runner Five's almost to the Keeley Center now.  Sprint, Five and I'll direct you when you're inside."  Maxine states as Charlotte continues down the path.  After a bit she could see a large brick building that had a few windows still intact.

"Hey I think I found it but there are windows broken out.  Looters might have been through here."  Charlotte said.

"Good, we're picking up on your headcam well, Runner Five.  Don't worry you should be safe.  Looks like you're just going through the doors of the Keeley Center."  Maxine said as Charlotte ran over and opened the doors slowly.  

She looked all around the building whistling.  "Damn this place is really big..."

"Yeah, it's enormous, but I should be able to guide you around.  No elevators of course, so just run through to the back of the building and up the stairs to the third floor."  Charlotte ran past the ransacked desks towards the back door.  She ran through and began going up the stairs.

"Huh..."  Sam said softly.

"What?"  Maxine questioned.

"Uh... did you see something?  Moving on the outside cam, just there?"  Sam asked.

"I didn't see anything, I was focusing at Runner Five's headcam."  Maxine says as Charlotte looked out a window in the stair well.  She scanned the area looking for what Sam saw.

"I don't see anything myself."  Charlotte said as she then continued up the stairs.

"Hm... no, look!  There it is again.  See?  Look, there- by the trees.  Can't see it when it's not moving, but... Yeah, it looks like a man in dark clothing.  Do you see the outline?"  Sam asked.  Charlotte got to the last floor and went inside the room.  

"Zombie?"  Charlotte suggested.

"Hmm..." Sam hummed.

"Okay, Runner five, you're on the third floor now. do you see just in front of you is an office labeled 'Doctor San Luca?"  Maxine asked as Charlotte looked around at the doors before finding the right one.  

"Found it."  Charlotte said stepping inside.

"He was Paula's liaison with the government here at the Keeley Center.  I need you to check through his files.  We're looking for anything labeled 'VS-72' or 'Pandora Haze'.  It might take a while."  Maxine said as Charlotte started to rifle through the papers.

"No we haven't got a while.  Look!"  Sam said fast.

"It's a..."  Maxine breathed.

"That is a man moving by the trees.  He's signaling... to that helicopter!  Something's coming.  Whatever you're gonna find Runner Five, find it fast, and get moving!"  Sam shouted.

"Got it."  Charlotte said and doubled her efforts.  She rushed through the papers and grabbed anything that had to do with Pandora Haze or VS-72.  She quickly stuffed the papers into her bag as she went to the desk and sorted through those files as well.

"It's landing.  It's... it's not from the military.  Look at it, it's painted with the Pandora Haze logos.  How are those guys even still alive?"  Maxine asked.

"They had a lot of money.  that's what it takes to survive.  What's Runner Five found?"  Sam  asked.

"It looks like..." Maxine started as Charlotte looked down at the files in her hand and opened them so Maxine could see them better.  "Yeah! There it is!  The copy of Patient 29's file.  Name of Arthur Gurkhan.  Well, nothing obviously strange on it.  Bring it back, Five, we'll see what we can work out!"  Maxine said as Charlotte stuffed the files into the pack before looking out the window seeing the helicopter.

"Better head out the back.  There are three people from that chopper coming in the way you entered the building."  Sam said as Charlotte raced out into the hallway before heading down the stairs.

"Is that...?"  Maxine questioned.

"Runner Five, two people are heading towards the back of the building.  You need to get out of there, now!  Run!"  Sam shouted as Charlotte flew down the stairs and through the back door.

Suddenly time seemed to stop.  The two people consisted of a brown haired woman with curls upon curls and a middle eastern man with short black hair, both in packs and head sets.  

The man was Amir.  Her fiance.  

Charlotte felt her stomach hit the ground.

He was alive.

Time caught up with her quickly as she saw his eyes stop on her and they registered his knowledge of her.  Then her eyes caught sight of the NC on the chest of his shirt.  

New Canton.  

She had to get out of there.  She took off away from them faster than she thought possible.  She barely registered Maxine or Sam's voice as she sprinted into the forest.

"I only met him a couple of times at christmas parties, but..."  Maxine said softly.

"Runner Five, good!  Just keep going.  They won't spot you if you keep going.  Now, now, now!  Through the woods, Run!"  Sam shouted.

"I'm sure that's him!  Look at his face!  That's Professor Van Ark!"  Maxine said as Charlotte didn't look back.  She couldn't believe it.

Amir was alive and part of New Canton.
