Written Together In The Stars, Before We Were Even Born

Betrothal AU

A long long time ago Time and Light met on the third hour of existence as they know it, and made a deal. They each wanted something from the other, the few sparks greed that Reality had. They could have traded these wants but they both know that the other would try and take the traded things back. So they decided to meet in the middle, Time for saw a few decades when two beings of their own would be the same age and most compatible and they both decided the two would be wed. That way neither would do anything to each other without the risk of endangering their kin. So Time now has infinite knowledge of the past and Light now has infinite knowledge of all future possibilities. Supereons into the future the time had come.

Duke and Danny wake up one morning, just turned 17, to find out they apparently have a fiance who they've never met or heard of before.

Gnomon shows up at Wayne manor during breakfast with the written contract to tell Duke about the betrothal. Duke, who hasn’t seen his bio-dad for almost a year now, is understandably suspicious. But after Gnomon thoroughly explains what’s going on and shows the very old contract, Duke can’t really deny it anymore.

Danny on the other hand was woken up by the contract falling on his head via Clockwork bullshit. His first reaction was to burst into Jazz’s room and scream about it, then Jazz called Sam and Tucker. They all went over the contract multiple times before they decided that Danny at least needed to find his betrothed.

The contract came with only a first name, with a home city written as well, just to make it a little easier for everyone

Danny’s the one who goes out to find Duke

It gets kinda ridiculous with all the things they find, [does anyone else know about the purple back gorillas Danny saved from extinction?] what with him being Vlad Masters’ godson and apparently almost died when he was fourteen

Duke decides to take a break and just go to his favorite bookstore/cafe, he mainly goes there for peace and quiet and to write his stories and poems

The Eclipse is a bookstore/library/lounge combo, with a warm tone dark academia jazz/painter aesthetic

The three floors above ground are the library got little reading nooks, and study areas

The basement is the lounge area with a corner where the owners keep their own things/activities and drink bar on a wall

The owners are twins, Sarah and Edward Sulaiman, Sarah plays string instruments, jazz mainly, Edward paints people, still, and landscapes

It was midday but you wouldn’t be able to tell from the water heavy clouds and smog covering the Gotham sky like a blanket on top of a pillow fort.

A teenage boy walks the streets of Gotham, there’s nothing awfully unusual about that. He’s Filipino, average height a bit on the taller side, muscle hidden under his clothes loose with a visible silhouette. His fluffy black hair bounces with each step and his eyes, they’re a… wrong shade of blue, let's say that. His eyes scan the streets looking for someone he’d never seen before, never even heard of before this morning. He’d been doing so for hours now.

A heavy drop of rain hit the boy square on the top of his head, the boy recoiled into himself like a cat, clutching his wooden staff in surprise. He looks up to the sky, eyes wide as the sky seems to dump an ocean onto the earth.

The boy runs, looking up and down the street for cover, until he sees a store front with a covered porch. Ducking underneath the roof he stares out into the street where the pouring rain curtains everything.

Sighing, the boy turned to the door of the store, looking at the sign all it said was The Eclipse. The water drops from his body like he was never drenched.

Pushing the double door open a soft jingle sounded through the building, he looked around a checkout desk was to his right another kid behind the counter. The two stared at each other before the kid behind the counter set down their book.

“Welcome to The Eclipse bookstore and lounge, the lounge is in the basement, this floor is the bookstore, the two upper floors are a library. Need anything else?”

The boy shook his head, “Nah, I’m good.”

The kid nodded and went back to their book.

The boy decided to just go to the third floor, see what they had. The soft murmurs he could hear coming from the basement gave him enough reason to avoid all the people.

There weren’t many people on the upper floors, just more books and a couple lounge chairs. On the top floor he saw a curtain over an open entrance in the back.

Danny sighed in relief, a small cubby to relax in would be nice. Gliding over feet barely touching the ground as he mimed walking.

He moved aside the yellow curtain with his staff, and came face to face with another boy who had taken over the desk on the opposite wall.

The boy looked up from his papers and turned to Danny. The ghost was taken aback by how pretty the other boy was.

“Oh hey, you can sit here if you want,” The boy said, motioning to the small couch on the far wall.

Danny nodded, and went over to the couch, plopping down, his eyes glanced over to the other boy.

“So um, my names Danny by the way,”

Duke looked over to the cute boy on the couch. He’d come to The Eclipse to escape all the talk about his betrothed, it didn't hurt to talk to someone new, who might share a name with his fiance.

“I’m Duke, are you new to The Eclipse? I’ve never seen you around before.”

Danny nodded, “Just recently got to the city, I’m looking for a- a friend.”

Duke raised an eyebrow, “You don’t sound so sure about that.”

“Well I haven’t met them yet – Danny rubbed the back of his neck – All I got is a name.”

Danny blinked then looked at Duke with eyes wide, “You two actually have the same name.”

The two starred, and Duke got a sinking feeling that they were looking for each other.

Duke groaned, leaning back in his chair, “Daniel right?”

Danny nodded, still staring wide eyed, “Daniel Fenton-Phantom.”

He stood up walking over to Danny and sitting down next to him, the other pulled in his legs staring at Duke.

“Duke Thomas-Wayne,” He offered up his hand, Danny shook it.

“So we’re betrothed,” Danny said kinda breathless.

“Yeah, it seems so,” Duke said, looking to the ceiling.

They sat there, almost shoulder to shoulder.

“Twenty questions?” Danny asked.

Duke looked at him again, “Yeah sure why not.”

They chat for a bit, just talking getting to know each other

They get along swimmingly, and Duke says Danny could come with him to Wayne Manor latter to meet his family

Danny invites Duke to come over to Amity and met his sister and friends

The small room on top of The Eclipse, Bookstore and Lounge, has a few tall bookshelves, a couch on the far wall and a desk opposite to the entrance.

Today its giant bay window, by the couch, is being hit by heavy drops or rain, the room lit by a soft yellow light from a simple chandelier on the ceiling. A couple paintings made by one of the owners.

Blankets kept under the couch that had been pulled out and draped over the sleeping boy. Books pulled off the shelves and opened on the desk presented to the boy writing in his many notebooks and papers.

It was quiet with only white noise, it was nice, familiar even.

Two being too big to be perceived by the mortal mind, watched with fond emotions as their plans fell into perfect place.

Gnomon and Bruce end up going out to look for Duke at The Eclipse

I don’t know these two relationship but I’m getting reluctant co-parents with benefits, so ya know

Anyway they end up finding Duke, who’s fallen asleep

Danny had woken up at some point and moved Duke to the couch and gave him a blanket, Danny himself is on the floor asleep leaning on the couch

The dads coo over their boy a bit cause this is adorable

When Gnomon gets closer Danny’s ghost sense goes off and is immediately on his feet and guarding Duke, who’s starting to wake up

Bruce and Gnomon blinked at the teenage boy brandishing his staff at them, standing protectively in front of their son.

Bruce takes a tentative step forward, the boy immediately turns his staff to the man.

“Stay back,” He growled.

Gnomon raised an eyebrow, and Bruce frowned at the kid. But neither moved

Duke groaned, waking up slowly taking in the scene around him, before quickly sitting up, “B, Uba? What are you doing here?”

The boy looked between the fathers and their son.

“You know them?” He asked.

Duke stood up, “Yeah they’re my dads.”

Both men would deny that they preened from the title their child had given them.

“Oh – The boy’s face fell and he immediately pulled into himself, awkwardly shuffled to Duke’s side – Sorry about that Sirs.”

“No need to worry, your worry for Duke is understandable,” Bruce said, smiling softly.

Gnomon nodded, “But we must ask, who are you child?”

Duke and the boy shared a glance.

The boy stepped forward, reaching out a hand, “Daniel Fenton-Phantom, Duke’s betrothed.”

The Ones We Play For

I’ll never forget the first time I put on a USA jersey for an international competition. 

It was for the 2015 World Under-17 Challenge when I had just turned 16. I didn’t think much of it at the time. The only thing I thought about was playing well, but it was an honor nonetheless. 

Every time you get the opportunity to represent your country in any way, it’s an honor. I know everyone says it, but it’s true. The whole nation is looking at you and cheering you and your teammates on. The playing of the anthem means more than ever. You look at the jersey and feel like you’re part of something bigger.

Next week, hockey at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina will begin. I’ve always dreamed of being about to play at the Olympics, but now that it’s actually here, it’s surreal. 

The team is great, and I feel lucky to even be here. As I look around at my teammates, I feel confident that we can bring home a gold medal. But it’ll take hard work. That’s nothing that we don’t know though. 

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it means to put on the jersey and who we wear it for. Of course, I think I speak for every single person at these Olympics when we say we wear it for our country and the fans watching us, whether here in Italy or back home. 

But we’re all playing for someone in our own support group. The village that has brought each of us here.

First, my parents, who have been there since the very first day. My mom, who taught me how to skate and my dad, who taught me how to see the game. My extended family: my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and family who aren’t technically family but who might as well be. Everyone in my life who’s always offered support and encouraging words, who has sat in cold rinks and watched me play. Whether they’re here in Italy or watching from various parts of the world, I’m playing for them. 

I’m also playing for my brothers, who will be on the ice with me. That’s still crazy for me to think about. We never could’ve imagined this when we were playing mini sticks in the basement as kids. Of course, we dreamed about it. But to see it come to reality? I feel very grateful. In the locker room, I look at Jack on my right and then Luke at my left. We’re playing for each other. 

But most importantly, I’m playing for Miguel Sandoval. 

I don’t talk about Miguel often, but he was one of the most important people in my life. Still is. He met my parents before I was born and automatically became a second father to me. To be honest, I don’t think I talk about him often because it still hurts to think about. 

Miguel was one of my biggest cheerleaders from the beginning. The fact that he’s not alive to see me take the ice next week is, well, it’s a lot of things. Sad is the first word that pops to mind. Unfair is another. The one who was at the rink next to my father in the stands before I even really knew how to play hockey isn’t alive to see me play in the Olympics? There’s no words to describe how devastating that is. 

He never got to see me play in any USA jersey, even though he was always confident I would put one on eventually. He died of pancreatic cancer on New Year’s Day, 2015. 

It’s been over 11 years without him, but he’s still in everything I do. A huge part of the reason I wear 43 is because of him — his birthday is April 3. I still remember his boisterous laugh and his kind eyes. He wrote Jack, Luke and I letters before he died that were specifically addressed to be given to us on our draft days. I still carry mine with me on every road trip. That’s how long and how strongly he believed in us. Somehow, he just knew that we would be drafted long before it happened. 

I have every word of that letter memorized. Sometimes, I trace over his handwriting with my thumb, and it feels like he's still with us.

During his brief battle with cancer, even when his body had almost no strength left, he always greeted us with a smile and an enthusiastic greeting. Even when he was advised not to, he made it to the games he could until his last days. To the very last day, he lived life with the biggest smile on his face.

If anyone should be here to see his “talented boys” take on the ice, it’s him. Not everyone is lucky enough to have someone like Miguel who loved them so unconditionally. I’m grateful for the time I had with him, even if I desperately wish it was more. We weren’t his sons by blood, but he treated us like family. But sometimes life is unfair, and we have to hold on to the fact that everything happens for a reason.

Here’s a reason: Miguel’s wife, Maeve, who is like a second mother to me, will be watching from Boston. Maeve is the best, always keeping it lighthearted and reminding me that life is supposed to be lived to the fullest. She has this youthful energy that’s just so infectious. She’s the one who always reminds me that hockey is supposed to be fun. I wouldn't be half the person I am today without her support.

And then their daughter, Clementine. Clem, I call her. Jack calls her Clee and Luke calls her Clemmy. Clem’s my best friend / older sister — the universal older sister, to be honest. It doesn’t matter if our last names aren’t the same. She’s been there for me ever since I could remember. Even when we were states, sometimes countries, away, I knew that if I called her, she’d always pick up. Currently on the journey to becoming a doctor, Clem is the kindest, most intelligent, most selfless and strongest woman I’ve ever met. She was the one who lost her father, but she made sure that all of us were okay. Even now, she can’t ever seem to take off the big-sister hat. But I wouldn’t have her any other way. 

Miguel, wherever you are, I can tell you a few things. First, I promise that we’re taking care of your wife and daughter as best as we can. We’re gonna try our best to get to the final rounds of this tournament so that they can fly out and watch us play. We love them and they’ll always be family. Second, whenever I feel a bit lost or need to be grounded, I think of you and your calm demeanor and bear hugs. I wish I could have just one more hug. Squeeze you one more time.

Miguel, when I put on that USA jersey and step on the ice, I will be playing for you. Jack, Luke and I will all be skating for you.

We miss you.

i think i can do a dialogue quite good but it’s hard for me to get into a zone or scenario where it comes to that naturally, but whenever it does happen? i’m super happy and proud of the result (that’s why i like my hitmen jegulus microfic so much)

probably that i’m not really good at creating a storyline/plot djskks that’s something that does Not come easily to me and probably one of the only reasons i havent really finished any of my big fics or even their first chapters. If i have a plan/ a prompt or something in general i can orientate myself off of it flows super easily (all the microfics and Ant Pile) but coming up with something of my own is very hard and i often feel kinda bad about it too :,))

I READ CHAPTER 23 OF LFLS BY @eternalglitch (again) AND MY BRAIN IS GOING A MILLION MILES AN HOUR AND I HAVE A THEORY THAT I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYONE ELSE POST ABOUT YET AND IDK WHY PEOPLE AREN'T TALKING ABOUT IT.

FIRST OF ALL, THE ANGST IS BEAUTIFUL ANOTHER PAINFULLY CRAFTED MASTERPIECE I LOVE IT SO MUCH THANK YOU FOR SHARING WITH THE CLASS WE ALL LOVE (and loathe a little, but we’re kinda also to blame for indulging in the pain lmao) YOUR WORK.

I just want you to know it’s got my brain worms tossing and turning in their little graves. I am seriously considering properly analysing your fic (threat).

Now on to the theory (below the cut to avoid spoilers) :)

WHAT THE HELL ARE THE NOTIFICATIONS THAT DONNIE KEEPS GETTING????

Well, here’s my theory: Muninn and Huginn (I refuse to believe he’s dead)….

Just think about it for a second. With the whole scuffle that was going down, Muninn had time to escape, or at least find a place to hide and carry Huginn off with him to (or drag or whatever).

There’s no way that Muninn would return to Draxum after the betrayal and the showing of Draxum’s true colours and all that juicy angsty stuff. And the pair have also canonically not had a previous master (at least none that they’ve stuck with for a substantial length of time) that they would go to in a crisis. And he wouldn’t return to the Gargoyle Sanctum thingamabob we saw them come from in the series. So that leaves only one conclusion: Muninn is somewhere out there fending for himself and a very injured Huginn.

My theory is that Donnie’s little notifications are of Muninn resurfacing for supplies - we’ve seen how often the boys have to change bandages for wounds in LFLS, so the logical implementations are that he has to buy a fair amount of bandages for his buddy. Whilst he would have to buy bandages for Huginn, there’s also the additional requirement of food - it doesn’t matter how small they are, the little guys still have to eat - and Muninn is only small and canonically not very strong, which means he can’t carry heavy loads of shopping. Also, without the income (if he even got any) from Draxum and/or the ability to rely on the yokai for a constant supply of food, much like a dog it’s owner (not derogatory, that’s just how they’re represented in the series) that means Muninn had to risk leaving Huginn often to steal food and supplies. Seventeen times in a week may seem a bit excessive, but when you’re building an infirmary from scratch and consider how tiny Muninn’s little arms are, it really isn’t that crazy.

NOW, ON TO WHY DONNIE HASNT SAID/DONE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS YET

This bit’s a little bit flimsy and I’m not too sure how to answer it, but I’m doing my best to fill the 7ft plot-holes in my theory. I believe it is due to a possible combination of three things: (1) He’s worried about how injured his family is and he doesn’t think they can handle another fight; (2) He’s not sure how Leo will react to seeing the Gargoyle pair again (this is the big one); (3) Donnie may not completely trust them yet (HEAR ME OUT!!) and he hasn’t turned off the notifications bc he feels guilty for not doing anything, but he still wants to know that they’re there and alive (also, if Draxum suddenly appears, Don will know about it).

(I also have a theory that Don is going to try and save them himself, but that's a very shaky one because of the trauma of Leo going alone and what that all entailed that glitch has been exploring throughout the fic. He probs has several trackers planted on the whole family by now. I’d honestly be more surprised if he didn’t.)

But I digress. On to theory one: The family is 100% injured and not at all ready for a fight. April is out of commission, Raph's hands are fried (but I feel that he would insist on joining a fight anyway), and we all not Leo's kinda down in the dumps. Plus, everyone is emotionally and mentally destroyed. They are not up for any kind of fight. And Donnie doesn't exactly strike me as the kind of person who intentionally puts his family in more danger than is necessary, especially in this current situation.

Number two: He's not sure how Leo will react to seeing the sidekicks present for the worst trauma he's ever (and hopefully will ever) experience in his lifetime. The pair were there during just about everything that happened to him - including the Battle Nexus, when Draxum wasn't present - and Leo would undoubtedly have made strong links in his mind between the gargoyles and the trauma he experienced. One can pretty confidently assume that having the pair around whilst he is trying to recover and whilst the fear of Draxum's return is still very heavy in the air, is going to cause problems for both Leo and the rest of the family, even if they know that the gargoyles willingly chose to help at the risk of their own lives. And if a dumdum such as myself can make those links, then there's no way that Donnie hasn't made them as well. For the sake of his family (especially Leo), Donnie is choosing to do nothing for the ex-henchgoyles. BUT, with each passing day and as more of the notifications continue, Donnie's guilt may start to eat him up inside and he's likely to just react without thinking (he's very emotionally tense and high-strung, so he's not thinking like his usual, logical self) and try to rescue them. I could go so much further into depth about the repercussions of what the gargoyles being in the lair might do to the fam, especially Leo, but I'm trying to keep this relatively short, lemme know if you wanna know more and I'll theory dump on you :)

Third and final: Donnie doesn't completely trust them. Let's be honest, Donnie's never really struck me as the overly trusting type and this whole situation would have only amplified it and made his trust issues a thousand times worse. This one is probably my flimsiest reasoning and it likely just added on to the others.

Either way, whether I'm right or not, I know glitch won't leave us hanging with that forever. They're a good writer and they don't seem to me to be the kind of author that leaves loose ends just hanging around. Cliffhangers, absolutely without a doubt they leave us hanging off of. But not loose ends (especially with how hard they were hinting at the notifications during the last chapter, it MUST be something important and I am absolutely BURSTING to find out what it is :)

I didn’t know I was writing an essay today for somebody who asked me why I think Volo is redeemable(thanks for asking though). FYI, my mind is in jumbles right now because of too many thoughts and I can never say my thoughts out perfectly. So, I also decided to put some theoretical reasons because I felt it would help you understand my thoughts a bit more. So please enjoy!

In-game/hinted at

A big thing that people use when they’re on this topic is his three Pokemon. Lucario (220 during the day), Togekiss (225), and Roseade (220 during the day). All happen to be on the high side of friendship. If Volo had Lopunny people would probably agree more because that sucker starts at 0 and evolves at 220. Still happens to be one of my fav Pokémon despite that. Anyways, that means he’d have to use them all or at least have them all in his team for a while. 

Two evolve by stones which could also take a while, for example, I had to look up where to get a Shiny Stone for my Togetic because I couldn’t find it in the wild for the life of me. In the normal games, I could only find stones post-game. So, that’s a commitment.

Garchomp is a special case. Like all Pseudo-Legendries, they have to be high level to evolve. 48 doesn’t seem like a lot, but if you're trying to grind it, suuuucks. Especially since they all level up slowly. This also means that it was kept on his team for a long time. Plus its level 68 in the final battle. We don’t talk about Spirtomb. 

One thing that flew over my head was his slightly sympathetic writing, which happens to be that no one says anything about him leaving except Cogita who bashed him. He was surprisingly talked about less than anyone in the game. It could have been unintentional but I like to think about it like that. Was there a reason why everybody just stopped realizing he existed?

 It could have been when the player told Laventon about Spear Pillar, they told more than about Giratina. Wouldn’t others talk more than if it (somehow) ended on a bad note? Gossip would probs be the only thing keeping me going if I was there. At least someone other than Cogita would say something else. What about Laventon and the clan leader you choose? No, nobody, which is like I said, weird. Makes you feel bad for the man.

This one is mainly a product of me looking into it too much but after the battle on Spear Pillar, he has a tired look. It always seemed like grief to me, not for you but because he failed. Like he gave it his all and got NADA. I like to believe that he realizes what he has done is beyond stupid over time. Like I don’t know how he’d think that’ll work out. I’m def going into this more when I get to the theory theories. 

This one is small but it’s about him telling Laventon to complete the Pokedex. It was very small but I believe it’s a way to also wish you good luck. It’s very small but it’s like his pride isn’t letting him say good luck to you so he’s going to the person in Hisui that you care about the most. Even if he was to say good luck to you/complete the Pokedex, it would seem fake and just like a salty Showdown player saying GG after making fun of you before you won. 

Now I’m going off of the in-game examples to go on a little rant. So, his Pokémon is a PRIME example. All his Pokémon are hard to get/evolve. Unlike like Ghetsis, his pseudo-legendary is evolved and Volo also has the most friendship evolutions. Btw, if Cyrus cares about his Pokémon because of his one Crobat, then Volo cares for his Pokémon more than him. 

His motive is slightly understandable. Wanting to know why things happen to you and why we have to go through, a question that may have gone through our heads. Definitely went through my head before I stopped caring LMAOO, I also forgot about it. I have memories that are buried in thoughts of Pokémon and Splatoon. Anyways, the way he went to do so was, uhhh, not the best, like I don’t know how basically dethroning Arceus would help him out. Creative thought ig??

Theories 

There’s one thing that was something that fell on my head one day and I kept it. It’s about his title, Wielder. I believe that it may be a title that the People of Celestia(?) or whatever he is, used when they had Pokémon. I don’t believe that he dislikes his Pokémon so that’s how it came to me. It could be that while they do think of Pokémon as dangerous things, they still realize that they have feelings and protect them. Of course, I’m just overthinking and trying to defend my reasoning why he’s reasonable. 

Ah yes, Immortal Volo, my favorite kind of Volo, especially if he’s drawn like he’s still young. So, if we're thinking correctly, he either calmed down or is still balls to the walls crazy. I like to choose that he calmed down even though I usually still depict him like he is as a merchant even though people can say that was just a façade. WELL, I like to pretend he’s my friend sometimes because he’s COOL. But if we are honest, he’ll probably look at his past actions and cringe. 

That gets me onto my favorite point because it’s probably the most realistic one! He has time to think about what he has done. Reflecting is one of the things that people comment about when it comes to N. Which I like but, can’t we make Volo reflect on what happened? He has time to do it. Years of being alone unless you believe he had some relationships. It would make his change more believable than just being like “I mega messed up, guess I'm good now.”

Now the theory about Volo being Cynthia’s dad. It goes into the immortality theory and/or longevity. Let’s be honest, he is FINE. So him having a child with someone is not impossible. But the reason why I brought this up is that if it’s semi-true, it either means Volo calmed down enough to have a sane child or Cynthia was able to learn what not to do by learning about what happened on Spear Pillar. 

From what I said, hopefully, you can see where I’m coming from. He is one of my favorite characters so I guess you can use that against me if you want to tell me why you don’t think he’s redeemable. Even if he was a pure villain I still might like him but that’s because I find him interesting, like how I do with Colress. They are important but there’s less lore about them than there should be. 

I would say more but it’s honestly hard for me bc I just finished Jojolion and my brain is mush.

So, I did say I’d make a post about the DND group I play with. I won’t use any names (besides my own character’s) but I will do a small list here for identification purposes with the characters and players

(FYI, we use the measurements of feet’inches for our characters-)

Our DM will just be called DM. My character is called Inixidis, who is a tiefling. Then there’s A (half-vampire), Go (human), W (half-elf), and Ga (“human”).

My character is a level 4 bard (college of creation)/level 4 artificer (alchemist). Some quick facts about Inixidis is that they are mute, is chaotic neutral, and their obsession with blue potions (basically just liquid magical waste that causes random effects) has traumatized numerous people. They were originally gonna be a neutral good character who A’s player dubbed “Demon Santa”, but I went gremlin when playing. (They also have like, around 10 pets, 4-5 of which are scorpions and the rest are literally what people would considers pests or dangerous in the setting-)

Then there’s A. Who is a blood hunter/artificer (I think specifically the armorer subclass?). (Just to clarify, A’s player goes by she/her while the character is presently he/him). A is the lawful evil “hypocrite” of the party. This probably seems like a red flag, but A honestly makes it very fun. I remember this time that we attempted a heist and got arrested. The hypocrite part is mostly just a “I can be the only immortal bloodsucker here!” So we made a joke that the character A is a lawful evil hypocrite. Before W’s character came around though, the party’s braincell kept getting bounced between Inixidis and A. We are currently hunting down the alchemist that made A a half-vampire.

Side note, Inxidis is 22 and A is like, 300 or 3000+ years old, but the two are basically children set loose in a candy shop when together. It’s great. They’re horrible horrible influences on each other. They are literally mad scientists. They technically committed war crimes together, shamelessly. They’re also the tallest of the party.

Go is a human monk. Now see, there is a little funny fact about him though. Go’s player wanted to play a 2’5 foot tall human adult. So, one day, our DM joked that the missing height went to width. And then a homebrew subclass called the Compression Monk was made. So, Go technically has like, two subclasses. But it’s hilarious and cool because compression monks can shoot up to longer than their original height and we can imagine them slingshotting themselves across the continent. Go is a pretty chill player and kinda just goes along with whatever’s happening. Like, probs just the embodiment of true neutral.

Ga, the “human” warlock. He hasn’t actually been around in a while. We know that the character isn’t actually human, like I’m pretty sure he’s a bunch of raccoons under a cloak. Ga just likes trash. Literally collects the rights to rummage in trash cans and such. Pretty chill buddy. Absolutely falls to Inixidis and A’s peer pressure.

W, the half-elf rogue! W is the primary owner of the party’s braincell now. Resting at like, 5’2, she’s had to wrangle the 6’4 tiefling and 6’1 (I think) half-vampire. Though, she’s had her gremlin moments (the extreme drive to kill the potato king is one of those moments). She’s been in the party for the shortest amount of time (although, it’s been months since she joined, so that doesn’t mean much-). W enjoys knives a lot. I think she has like, 4 or 5 in her inventory.

But yeah!

Some other stuff to note is

-We have 3 functional immortal characters (Inixidis, one of her pets, and A) for various reasons

(Inixidis has a wishing well curse so they’ll always revive until they grant the wishes. Their pet drank their mutagen blood {drink enough magical waste and you become a dangerous thing to attack} and the random mutations they got were immortality and like, constant background music to vibe with. A basically has a thingy that lets them auto succeed on a death save, so they’re only down for three turns before stabilizing- which makes deciding who to heal much easier-)

-Inixidis has a combo wombo of two curse that makes her terrifying. Ring of Greed and the Wishing Well curse. Ring of Greed basically makes Inixidis have to roll wisdom saves for anything related to riches, but the more valuable items on her, the more powerful she is (I’m currently at a 27 or 29 damage bonus for ALL of Inixidis’ attacks). The Wishing Well curse disables me from healing any lost hp, but whenever Inixidis goes below 1 hp, the health is set back to 1 hp on her next active turn (so, just infinite revives but Inixidis retains all injuries. They’re currently very mangled).

-Inixidis and A did live experiments with blue potions (reminder: liquid, magical waste) in the basement of a warehouse. Illegally.

-Inixidis, A, and Ga technically committed war crimes on some (not-so) innocent folk living below our base-city.

-W joined the party when Inixidis, A, and Go arrived at a town of mutated cannibals. Inixidis, having Chaos Affinity (homebrew feat that allows Inixidis to have both permanent mutations and additional ones), fit in with the mutated residents quite well.

-A plans to build a robot army

-W was raised by giant raccoons (I think? If I remember the conversation correctly? That might’ve been a joke) and is hunting down a sorcerer who hurt her brother and her brother’s friend (one of which was turned into a gecko that W keeps with her)

-We’ve fought a guy who used zombie-plants (well, sorta. They were various undead)

-Inixidis has killed opponents by letting herself get bit/eaten. It’s hilariously great.

-We have a superstition involving my character. If they pass a perception check, that means something bad will happen (especially if she’s the only one to do so). Due to how bad my perception check rolls usually are (which has led to the head canon that Inixidis has ADHD)

-The patrician of our base-city is a vampire who basically has us as that “one group of people who will experience the most bat-shit insane stuff that’s actually happened” but also as the team who “discovered who the murderer running rampant was but postponed arresting him for five days because they got side tracked”

-The setting is medieval fantasy, but we’ve managed to obtained a high-tech space ship run by an AI called “Friendly Computer”. Friendly Computer attacked us at first until we sorted our problems with each other out. We lost a scorpion on that ship’s first floor. Thankfully, we were able to scrap that floor to repair the rest of the ship (I also dislike the decontain because Inixidis looses mutations going through it)

-Inixidis’s left arm is a Merbull. Who has a separate mind (sorta connected to Inixidis’s own) and can blast a beam of light. That blinds opponents. They’re also mute cause of that. Inixidis’s right arm used to have a Merbull who could speak, but we lost ‘em.

-A goes into a blood rage (homebrew based off of a barbarian’s rage) at the taste of blood (so he has to dilute it when drinking it). Inixidis will actively throw herself in the way of A’s teeth when the only targets left for the blood rage are allies. This is not to save others. This is because she find it hilarious to watch A’s disgust at her toxic and mutagen producing blood when he comes out of the blood rage (which happens when he drinks something’s blood or succeeds a saving throw).

-Inixidis and Go will actively encourage each other’s worst impulses. A, the lawful evil member of the party (the only evil one), was the one that had to step in to stop the two from breaking the bones of some sewer bandits. They are gremlins.

-Inixidis and A have been dubbed “Drugs and Robots” by me.

-The Potato King was connect to a maybe-eldritch god of (uncontrolled) growth that he was trying to bring into the mortal plane (after feeding people “fries” that were made from the god’s body, that said god could still control. They had fries growing out of their bodies when mind controlled). He died to like, 64 (maybe?) fire damage from Inixidis’s Hellish Rebuke (2d10 fire damage + 27 bonus x 2 due to PK’s weakness to fire {t’was a greasy king}, I think those are the calculations for anyone who wants to know how Inixidis managed that much with a reaction). I’m pretty sure he was at less than 20 HP when I hit him with that. Potato King was a charred corpse. We then just kept hitting the Potato God with fire attacks until W managed to banish ‘em using instructions from the dead witch who sent us to fight PK in the first place.

-W’s sanity has not been surviving being the only good aligned character surrounded by absolutely insane characters.

-We made a subspecies of rat. Our buddy Notus is a subspecies of that subspecies. He aims to become a god and we plan to assist him in that. He wants to become a god to help people. He’s that best. He doesn’t mind coming from the mad science of Inixidis and A.

-We are friends with two demons. One is stuck in the body of a golden goose (her name is Garflux, I think), and said golden goose has the ability to induce uncontrollable rage in people with a single honk (Untitled Goose reference). The other is more of Inixidis’s friend. He’s named Cheese and he runs a tavern or restaurant. Calling his name pauses time and lets him possess someone during that time pause. Inixidis was gifted a bag of coins. Placing coins on a corpse’s eyes sends the person to Cheese’s tavern, and- in turn- Cheese will give Inixidis gifts.

-There’s a lot of Chekhov’s Guns in the world of our campaign

-We almost released a big bad evil guy type god back into the mortal plane. Cheese helped us stop it.

-We’ll do random things like swap the arms and legs of skeletons

-Most of us have really cool cursed items

-Go can be standing 15ft. away from someone and just punch ‘em. Compression monks are beautifully hilarious. Most folk can only hit someone in melee who is 5ft. away. Not Go. You enter the range of 15ft.? Prepare to get hit.

-W has a cool grimoire that can cast really good spells a few times per long rest.

-A has a cool ring. It allows him to change ONE letter of a spell’s name and subsequently change the effect. Party favorite? Grease to Crease. Fold those fuckers. It’s beautiful.

-We have an in with the mafia at our base-city cause we unintentionally helped them by beating up some defectors (they were bandits who attacked us)

-Blue potion molotovs

-Boots of the Beetle

-Inixidis has an adoption problem when it comes to animals. They also happen to eat just about anything that isn’t exactly poisonous/healing. Skyrim style alchemist. Eat ingredients/drink potions to learn their effects if they aren’t healing or poison.

-A dislikes Inixidis’s immortal stirge (featherless sewer bird that sucks blood through an elongated, mosquito-like nose).

-W is younger than A and Inixidis. W’s player is older than I and A’s player.

-Inixidis carries the party’s gold because one of the artificer things I took was the ability to imbue an object with the traits of a bag of holding. So she has a Cloak of Holding. I don’t remember the exact mechanics.

SO, IN SHORT

The party is absolutely insane, terrifying, and ridiculous. I love them all so so much. The campaign is absolutely crazy and hilariously fun.

Christ I finally finished it despite my procrastination going nuts this week.

So! A friend was doing this three way fusion meme and, me being me, I also wanted to do the same.

So I picked the 3 characters who... happened to come from my VERY similar tastes in games xDD

Psychonauts is a game about going into people’s minds and discovering the landscape of their mental world.

Figment is a game where you help fight off nightmares that have suddenly run amok in a Mind in trouble.

Hollow Knight is a game where the main antagonist is in the dang DREAM REALM and you gotta hop between the real and the dream, discovering forgotten dreams and bugs before squaring up with a god.

Raz will help you work through your problems and fight them with you. Dusty will fight your nightmares cause that’s his job. Ghost will just fight xD

Anyway this was hella fun to do and combine! Enjoy!

Raz and Dusty, the fusion of which results in a determined, courageous, and VERY STUBBORN child. Course Dusty ain’t a child but still.

Dusty’s sword manifests psychically, replacing Raz’s fist projections. The PSI-Colour is also a mix between orange and teal!

He’s also the only fusion with proper eyes.

Raz and Ghost! The child ends up almost as quiet as Ghost, but their voice ends up sounding like static so they don’t talk. Instead of Raz’s hair tuffs, he’s got a couple leaves permanently stuck to his mask. Said mask bears a resemblance to Raz’s normal helmet.

Instead of physical nails, this fusion summons them as a spell. Think of Pure Vessel’s attacks.

Dusty and Ghost! The only adult fusion here. He retains both wooden sword and nail, and his mask is like... weeeeird. It’s both normal Dusty’s fuzziness and ears but with Ghost’s carapace and horns.

AND FINALLY! The three way!

Psychic powers, Soul/Void spells, and the embodiment of Courage! He can summon extra arms and ends up with a hell of a power boost!

Also FINALLY SOME EYES! Even if they’re not like normal eyes xDD

Got bored and made this, now that I have a decent amount of Ocs now. Is this just an excuse to summarize their backstories? Yea probably. One things for certain I am FAR NICER to my Ocs than a lot of people. They are my children and they deserve happiness goddamit.

Tier One: Moderate to Typical Oc Trauma/yea you need therapy after that you’re ✨messed up✨ now

Matthew Fencer: Originally made solely as a protagonist for an MCYT horror game thing before evolving into his own character (and the “AU” evolved into its own thing/story/timeline whatever) so yeah I’d say he’s been through some crap. Mofo had SIX very angry people-turned-monsters trying to kill him cause they weren’t happy he was entering their town without permission (actually, at all). He didn’t even enter on purpose he was just kinda SCP-spacial-anomalied in there by chaos magic from several miles away while he was tryna take a walk poor guy. Bro needed a lot of therapy after risking his life to break a curse. But he did (kinda) make a friend during that whole fiasco and he has a wonderful girlfriend who was glad to see him alive after he went missing so ✨yippie✨ happy ending

Anchihiro.ExE: Was a human until Sonic.ExE/Xenophae killed them and now it’s a disembodied soul trapped in a Sonic ROM hack they shouldn’t have clicked on that’s floating around the internet. Idk how it would get therapy at this point since it’s yaknow… DEAD. (I still have the Gacha edit thing I made of their death for a video last summer. There is so much blood.) Pretty sure I did Anchihiro the most dirty out of everyone since they’re the only one who actually dies. Not to mention they are somehow trapped with the fucker who killed it in the first place (who is trying to gather human souls so they can become powerful enough to leave the video game realm) so yeah imagine being stuck with your sworn enemy in a video game for all eternity #skillissue At least it’s befriended Fleetway and Tails Doll so they’re not entirely alone????

Cyroblast: Was an elven soldier sent to the Frozen Wastelands of Vesh to find a treasure, got badly wounded and JUST ABOUT froze to death until King Pen found him and managed to revive him with Mind Magic. Foreclash: Bro just got teleported into a cave while trying to get the vortex at Shellmont Shores under control, and was stuck there for I think a week before Starcast found them. Other than maybe some mild claustrophobia/homesickness he’s fine.

Shield Shocker: just daddy issues lol. He just hates the fact his father (a very powerful tornado dragon) is evil and wants to spite him. The dad also plays a role with Cool Factor but we’ll get to that in a moment.

Shade Ace: found a weird spell in a book and it cursed them/turned them into an undead lizardy thingy don’t do necromancy kids

Mecha Quad: His workshop was attacked by Greeble air barons and he lost his legs. He should’ve died but he was like PEACE WAS NEVER AN OPTION and he built himself a new set of cyborg legs, tracked down the baron base and beat all their asses. Bro death/giving up could’ve been a one-way street but you somehow did a u-turn you go dude✨✨✨

Tier Three: no trauma, you’re good👍

I’m just gonna stick Cool Factor’s summary here cause something did happen to him but it wasn’t necessarily bad for him or anything. The curse Shield Shocker’s dad put on him just caused him to be part dragon and have his dry ice powers/magic and he was like “oh hey this is cool :D” Cool Factor and Shield Shocker did have a V E R Y awkward conversation about it (cause none of Factor’s family really told him about it) so other than MAYBE a mini epiphany he’s completely fine.

I’ve attended and worked at a couple of super liberal universities. I avoid the gender studies departments for obvious reasons and I still had a lecture in which the female prof gave a brief overview of TERFs and proclaimed her hatred of JKR. Being openly critical of gender ideology, the porn industry, kinks, and ‘sex work’ are the kind of things that can ruin your future in academia. Not to mention the fact that any speech or actions that could be labelled transphobic (ie. defining woman as adult human female) can get you a suspension according to many universities anti-hate-speech policies. 

So, here’s a list of small and smallish (small in terms of overt TERFery, some may require more effort than others) radical feminist actions you can take as a university student:

(this is a liberal arts perspective so if you’re a stem gal this may not apply. but also if you’re in stem maybe you can actually acknowledge that women are oppressed as a sex class without getting kicked out of school. idk)

(Note for TRAs hate reading this: One of the core actions of radical feminism is creating female networks. This is not so that we can brainwash people into being anti-trans. This is because female solidarity is necessary for creating class consciousness and overturning patriarchy. It is harder to subjugate the female sex when we stand together.)

Take classes with female profs. Multiple sections of a class? Pick the one taught by a woman. Have to chose an elective? Only look at electives offered by women. When classes have low numbers they get cancelled. When classes are super popular, universities are forced to consider promoting the faculty that teach them

Make relationships with these female profs. Go to office hours. Chat after class. Ask them about their research. Building female networks is sooooo important!

Actually fill in your end of year course feedback forms. Profs often need these when applying for tenure or applying for a job at another university so it is very important (especially with young and/or new profs) that you fill out these forms and give specific examples of how great these women are. Go off about what you love about them! Give her a brilliant review because you know the idiot boy in that class who won’t shut up even though he knows nothing is going to give her only negative feedback because he thinks any woman who leaves the house is a feminazi b*tch. 

(note: obviously don’t go praising any prof - female or male - who is blatantly racist, homophobic, etc.)

(Also if you have shitty male profs write down all the horrible things they have done and said and put it in these forms because once a shitty man gets tenure they are virtually untouchable)

(also also, leave a good review on rate my profs or whatever other thing students use to figure out if they want to take classes. idc if you copy paste your feedback from the formal review. rave about the class to your friends. do what you can to get good enrolment for that prof for reasons above.)

Participate in class. Talk over the male students. Say what you mean and mean it. Call out the boys when they say dumb shit

Write about women. If you have the option to make a text written by a woman your primary text in an essay, do it. Pick the female-centred option if you’re writing an exam-essay with multiple prompts. (Profs often look at what works on their syllabus are being written about/engaged with as a marker of whether to keep those texts the next time they teach the class. If there are badass women on your syllabus, write about them to keep them on the syllabus) Use female-written secondary sources whenever possible. 

(pro tip: many women in academia are more than happy to talk to you about their papers. expand your female networks by reaching out to article authors through email and asking them about their cool shit)

Get your essays published! Many departments have undergrad journals you can publish in. This will ensure more people read about the women you write about and will demonstrate to the department that people like learning about women

Consider trying to publish your undergrad essay with a legit peer-reviewed journal. If you can do it, your use of female-written secondary sources boosts the reputations of the women who wrote those secondary sources. Also this helps generally to increase scholarship about women’s writing!

Present your papers at conferences! Many schools have their own undergraduate/departmental conferences that you can present at. Push yourself by submitting to outside conferences. Bring attention to women’s works by presenting your papers. Take a space at a conference that would otherwise be reserved for mediocre men

Talk to your profs and/or your department and/or your university about mandating the inclusion of female works in classes if this isn’t something they do already

Sit next to other women in your classes. Talk to them. Make friends. Form study groups. Proofread each other’s essays. Give each other knowing looks when the boys are being dumb. Just interact with other women! Build those female networks!

Be generous with your compliments. A female classmate and I were talking to a prof after class and the classmate told me (out of the blue) that I always have such interesting things to say. I think about that whenever I’m lacking confidence about my academic skills. Compliment the women in your classes for speaking up, for sharing their opinions, for challenging your classmates/profs, for doing cool presentations, etc.

Talk to other women about sexist things going on on campus. Make everyone aware of the sexist profs. Complain about how there are many more tenured men than tenured women. Go on rate my professor and be explicit about how the sexist profs are sexist

Be active on campus and in societies. If a society has an all male executive or is male-dominated, any women who join that society make it less intimidating for more women to join. Run for executive positions! Bring in more women! 

(Pro tip: Many societies’ elections are super gameable. You can be eligible to vote in a society election sometimes just by being a student at that university — even without having done anything with the society before. Other societies might just require that you’ve taken a class in a particular department or attended a society event. (Check the society’s governing documents.) Use those female networks you’ve been building. If you can bring three or four random people to vote for you, that might be enough for you to win. Societies have trouble meeting quorum (the minimum number of people in attendance to do votes) so it is really super achievable to rig an election with a few friends. And don’t feel bad about this. The system is rigged against women so you have every right to exploit loopholes!)

(Also feel free to go vote “non-confidence”/“re-open election” if only shitty men are running. Too often people see that only candidates they don’t like are running and so they give up. But you can actually stop them getting elected)

Your campus may have a LGBTQIA+alphabetsoup society. That society definitely needs more L and B women representation. It may be tedious to argue with the nb straight dudes who insist that it’s fine to use “q***r” in the society’s posters and that attraction has nothing to do with genitals, but just imagine what could happen if we could make these sorts of societies actually safe spaces for same-sex attracted women and advocated for our concerns

Attend random societies’ election meetings. Get women elected and peace out. (or actually get involved but I’m trying to emphasize the lowest commitment option with this one)

Write for the campus newspaper. Write about what women are doing - women’s sports, cool society activities, whatever. Review female movies, books, tv shows, local theatre productions. Write about sexism on campus. We need more female by-lines and more stories about women

Get involved with your campus’s sexual assault & r*pe hotline/sexual assault survivor’s centre/whatever similar organization your campus has if you can. This is hard work and definitely not for everyone (pls take care of yourself first, especially if you are a survivor)

(If your campus doesn’t have an organization for supporting survivor’s of sexualized violence, start one! This is probably going to be a lot of hard work though, so don’t do it alone)

Talk to your student council about providing free menstrual hygiene products on campus if your campus doesn’t already do this. If your campus provides free condoms (which they probs do), use that as leverage (ie. ‘sex is optional, menstruation is not. so why do we have free condoms and no free pads?’)

If you’re an older student, get involved with younger students (orientation week and such activities are good for this). Show the freshman that you can be a successful and well-liked woman without shaving your legs, wearing heels, wearing make-up, etc. Mentor these young women. Offer to go for coffee or proofread essays. 

Come to class looking like a human being. Be visibly make-up less, unshaven, unfeminine, etc. to show off the many different ways of being a woman

Talk to the custodial staff and learn their names. (I know there are men who work in this profession, but it is dominated by low-income women) Say hi in the hallways, ask them about their lives, show them they’re appreciated

Be explicit with your language. When you are talking about sex-based oppression, say it. Don’t say ‘sex worker’ when you mean survivor of human trafficking. This tip is obviously a bit tricky in terms of overt TERFyness, so use your best judgement

Okay, so, out of everyone in Jujutsu High, I feel like maneater!reader is the most protective over Itadori and Junpei. Don't get me wrong, they are protective towards all of their friends, reader is quite literally the definition of "I hate everyone but them" with them being everyone at Jujutsu High lol. But with Itadori and Junpei it's a little different.

Imagine reader is the first one of the second years to meet Itadori, and the only student to be there with him when everyone thought he was still dead, they just barge in when Shoko is about to perform his autopsy but instead find this naked kid sitting on the desk and they go like "Gojo sensei, as always you got some explaining to do..." and so they get assigned to keep an eye on Itadori and follow him along on missions.

This makes maneater!reader also the first one to meet Junpei along with Itadori.

And while Itadori is a sunshine child and literally asks Junpei one question and then he's like good to go, reader is a little more cautious, a little more prying and almost condescending and provocating because fuck, they don't know this kid and experience has taught them not to go trust anyone if they want to keep those important to them safe (and maneater!reader will die before they let something happen to Itadori).

So yeah, Junpei's first impression of reader is prob very negative sksks, he's fucking scared shitless and 100% ready to make a run for it cause who the fuck is this?? But like the moment he gathers enough courage to just get up and s p r i n t, everything changes.

"Oh, one last important question, are you okay?" reader asks in the most genuine and concerned tones, and the complete change of behaviour quite literally gives Junpei a whiplash, so he just stares at them with eyes wide in complete disbelief. And reader chuckles, fucking chuckles at him (yes, they had already decided Junpei was their new child as soon as they saw how uncomfortable he was with his professor, but they needed to carry on the mission too).

So reader just shrugs at him and goes "Well, everyone is rightfully preoccupied with the three guys that died, but well, they're dead-" "that's cold senpai!" "I'm serious Itadori- Just because they had it worse, it doesn't mean that you didn't have it bad too. Even though you said you can see curses, even if maybe you don't know those three guys, but hell, even if you hated them and you thought they got what they deserved-" "SENPAI!" "I'm still talking Itadori- even if you're luckily still here, how are you doing? Are you okay? Oh, and also, do you have any questions? Would you like to come with us to our school-"

And yeah, reader just goes on full parental mode, and that, that is the moment when dear Junpei knew he was done for.

Literally you can see him short-circuit.

It just gets worse when that evening reader and itadori are over for dinner and reader just jokes around with his mother and then offers to wash the dishes and reprimands itadori when he's too loud while Junpei's mom is sleeping.

Also because we love to see OP reader in god-mode, I think they'd be the one to run after itadori as soon as he goes out to find Junpei and they would save him while Itadori was battling Mahito (cause again, the world will burn before reader lets the people they care about get hurt).

And please, for comedic purposes (and because I shed too many tears over Junpei), just imagine reader bringing him to meet all the others during the second day of the Goodwill event like "Don't worry, come, they don't bite. And well, if they do, I bite too." And Junpei shyly trails behind them all decked in the school's uniform. Itadori is just so fucking shocked and gets all teary eyed and hugs the both of them and reader laughs, full blown laughs because they are so happy too.

So yeah, Junpei and Itadori are definitely the ones reader is the most protective over and they will 100% shout at Junpei as soon as he gets the smallest injuries and always asks to be partnered only with him during missions (even though they would usually partner a bit with everyone, both with first years to keep an eye on them and all the second years too cause they make the best team, cue everyone getting lowkey whiney because they can't go on missions with reader).

Also I love it, you're so right, it would legitimately take o n e interaction between Junpei and reader for Maki to witness and go like "shit, not him too" cause admittedly everyone has a more or less platonic crush on maneater!reader, so ofc maki has to phone yuuta about it. He can't just physically beat her into submission. He can't order her around she'd probs act out even more to spite him. He can't divorce her or ban her from Lotus Pier. What can you do when you're stuck in life with a person like that other than avoid her as much as possible. WWX gets it and does. I definitely wish JFM could have found some attempt the impossible way to make her go away. It's WWX's and JFM's misfortune that she's alive and part of their life and it's definitely not fair to either of them (or yanli & jc frankly). In that last passage JFM does seems to draw away her anger after him from WWX. So no, I don't think he's complicit. I think he's a victim himself of her unreasonable tantrums. I can't frankly deny the schadenfreude her end gives me.

sidenote as I was looking for one of the quotes I found the moment when jc is fantasizing that the attack on Lotus Pier was just a bad dream and I think it's sort of ironic that in his fantasy his mother is scolding WWX. Like :

He couldn’t wait to wake up after some rest and open his eyes to find himself lying inside of his room back in Lotus Pier. His father would be wiping his sword in the main hall. His mother would be angry again and complaining, scolding Wei WuXian who winked in a funny way. His sister would be in the kitchen, thinking as hard as she could about what to make today.
