Not entirely sure I’m actually alive as I type this seeing as I haven’t gotten more than five hours of sleep a night for the last week and a half but we persevere. And frankly what kind of fanfic author would I be if I didn’t post in spite of sleep deprivation and also death. NEITHER RAIN NOR SLEET NOR SNOW...
Anyway, happy day-before-the-finale! I hope you’re all as ready for our funerals as I am! I’m not ready. help.

Thinking a lot about wants vs needs and had some thoughts:
Eddie goes for what he needs (or thinks he needs) in his exes but not what he wants
Buck goes for what he wants in his exes but not what he needs
Am I making sense?

Maybe the main issue with Buddie vs BuckTommy is that the show didn’t clean anything up prior to having Buck get into a budding relationship with a man alongside his coming out?
Because I do understand both sides, I just don’t get the hostility. Buck dating Tommy makes sense, just as much as Buck having feelings for Eddie. The difference is, BuckTommy is canon while Buddie remains a fan theory.
However, there is no denying that the current story continued to rely on Buddie “hints” leading up to Buck and Tommy’s kiss. All Buck could talk about was Eddie, and as we move into 7x06, all we’re getting is Buddie promo. I do think the wedding will establish Buck and Tommy being official, but again… the show is still using Buddie and the want that Buddie shippers have, to promote.
As a result, Buddie shippers are going to continue thinking there is something coming down the line. They’re going to continue theorizing about how Eddie will take Buck officially coming out with Tommy and so on, because that’s what’s being pushed without there being any clarification be-it in canon or in interviews of whether or not Buck and Eddie will ever acknowledge their potential feelings for each other.
Which, in my opinion the show can and should do, and Tim can and should say definitively. It wouldn’t be a spoiler, because he can just finally say Yes or No, Buck and Eddie will have that conversation. We don’t need to know the result of it until the scenes air, if yes.
I don’t know if I’m explaining myself well, but after talking about it with two other people on here, it’s where my head is at for now. Keeping Buddie up in the air while using them to promote the episodes or even as a possible red herring, is obviously going to cause drama. Because yes, now we have a canon queer ship with Buck, and that’s great. But not acknowledging everything between him and Eddie from before keeps people’s hopes up, since the Buddie stuff was never canon and the only way to clear the air is by making the jokes canon, since Buck’s sexuality has canonically changed.
So they should just answer the question, even if the answer is “No, Buck and Eddie won’t have that conversation.” and they choose to make it a joke itself. They can have someone assume they’re dating or were, and just have Buck or Eddie say “We get that a lot, but no. We’re just friends.” Because again, none of the previous Buddie things were canon, they were just jokes, but now that Buck is canonically bi and people want to know if they’ll make his biggest ship canon, the have to clean up what was left behind.
Which, maybe they will do by the s7 finale, idk. But until Buddie is answered, no one who ships them will think BuckTommy is endgame unless they make Tommy a regular recurring next season.

I just read your Lucifer ABC's and the idea of him knowing everything about reader, but also needing words of afirmation just gave me an idea. Just imagine Lucifer truly asking to be tested about how much he knows reader, and they just start asking "Who is the person that i love most?" "Who makes my heart flutter and beat so loud even heaven could hear it?" "Who lives in my head rent free that even while dreaming he's there making everything brighter?". Lucifer would crumble.
I cant take this image from mi mind, please honey, show me the sweet baby crumble.
The Answer
Lucifer Morningstar x Reader
ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʕ•̫͡•ʔ•̫͡•ʔ
“C’mon!”
Lucifer’s smile threatens to crack his face in half.
He’s been begging you to quiz him on your knowledge of him even though you assured him, you believe he knows everything about you. A part of you knows this isn’t for you; it’s for him. Lucifer wants to prove he’s a worthy mate by sharing the information he’s collected about you. His crimson eyes are big and beautiful and straight up impossible to deny. With a smile of your own, you sigh and drop your phone. Turning to give him your full attention, you rest your head in your hands.
“Alright. What’s… my favorite color?”
Suddenly his smile drops, eyes rolling dramatically to the left.
“Pfft! That’s way too easy. You need to give me a harder one than that, darling!”
Pursing your lips to the side for only a moment, you don’t need to wrack your brain very hard for a question that would stun Lucifer. A smirk tugs across your face. It’s returned tenfold. He’s vibrating with excitement when he sees you’ve conjured something, something he thinks he can answer. That only makes you more ready to win the battle he’s started.
“Who’s the first person I’d tell a secret to?”
Lucifer inhales like he’s been holding his breathe the whole time.
“That’s—!” He chokes, pupils shrinking to slits, “That’s, uh…”
You make sure to give him a few seconds before dropping the next question.
“Who’s the person I want to see every morning, noon and night of every day?”
“I-I know this one!” Lucifer assures but deflates, shoulders slumping with the amount of uncertainty weighing him down.
“Who am I thinking about every waking moment because they’re my favorite person in the universe?”
Lucifer looks like he wants to say the answer, but he’s afraid it’s wrong. His mouth opens and shuts unsure of itself. His eyes scan your face for any warning signs and although he finds none, it’s as if he can’t trust any of his senses.
Who makes me smile and laugh more than anyone?
Who’s so creative they always have me in awe?
Who can make my day brighter just by being themself?
Question after question, you tug him closer by his hips until he’s flush against you. You will your hands to deliver to reassurance your words cannot. Fingers glide up his neck and comb through his blonde locks, every stroke an apology for dragging the game on.
“Who do I love the very most and thank Heaven every night for sending him to me?”
Your hands steal the apples of his cheeks and tilt his head up. Your eyes grip his in a staring competition fueled by adoration. The games over and forgotten but it has a clear winner. Lucifer’s a blushing disaster, his voice failing him and melting to a whine. He swallows hard on nothing, eyebrows pinching together making his expression appear dangerously hopeful.
Your voice drops to an agonizingly soft whisper. Syrupy sweet yet serious.
“I’ll give you a hint. He’s my angel… His name starts with an L… He’s looking at me like he wants a kiss…?”
“I—Is… Is it.. Me?”
“Yes, Luci. The answer is you.”
Closing the small gap between you both, you finally give him a reward for answering the question correctly.

People? In MY computer?? It's more likely than you think!
The following is a fanvertisment and is not connected to the show. ****Yet.*** *Also yes, this is the fourth time I'm posting this because TUMBLR WONT LET ME EDIT SPELLING MISTAKES!
ANYWAY,
Tumblr media
Once upon a time, back in 1987, Dire Straits put out this music video for “Money for Nothing”, which, as you know, was a song about wanting my MTV.
youtube
The video was made by two guys (Gavin Blair and Ian Pearson) on a very moody computer. After the video went out, these two guys went to a pub:
Ian: “Hey, we should make a whole show like this!”
Gavin: “Dude, making three minutes almost killed us.”
And so it was decided!🎉
The two guys were joined by two other guys (Phil Mitchell and John Grace) and created the Hub, which then became Mainframe Entertainment. They got even more people, and then they all holed up in this hotel.
Tumblr media
They were mad lads with a dream: a whole cgi animated show, and they made it happen a whole year before Toy Story!
Behold! ReBoot!
(Yes that fever dream was real)
Tumblr media
Now before I get any of this:
Tumblr media
Let me lay this down. If you can’t with the animation of the first season because it was CUTTING EDGE IN 1994, you can close your eyes and listen to it. ReBoot wasn’t just a CGI gimmick. The characters are fully developed, the voice actors are peerless, the plot is sharp, and there’s so many easter eggs that you’ll never find them all.
Never
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(And yes the episode "Bad Bob" was the actual catalyst for Fury Road. Look it up)
ReBoot is about what life is like in a computer (in the 90s, because it was the 90s) called Mainframe (because of course it is). People are sprites, the guys that look like 1s and 0s are binomes (which represent 1s and 0s). Bad guys are viruses, and the good guy is a Guardian named Bob, who is a certified cinnamon roll.
In the first season the eps are light and self-contained, mainly because there was constant friction between the Mainframe studios and the Board of Standards and Practices.
They still got away with some pretty dark stuff, like Megabyte (virus) making Enzo (the kid) watch his dog get sliced open (dog got away, obviously) , Dot (sprite) have a hallucinatory breakdown, and the fridge horror of realizing the thousands of worm things (nulls) that plunged off a bridge to their death were actually people.
And Hex's (virus
best girl) scary face single-handedly traumatized an entire generation. 🙂
Tumblr media
But busting through a window was a no go, because WhAt If tHe cHiLdReN dID iT tOo?
Anyway, halfway through the second season, ABC cut them loose, so they were like, fuck it, we’re going to start going hard. The story shifted from episodic to arcs and things start to get serious.
Tumblr media
Third season the show moved to YTV in Canada, which gave no fucks about shielding the innocent children.
So it got DARK
Tumblr media
How dark?
The UK refused to show the entire season, so the audience there had to wait until pirated copies made it across the pond to see how it ended.
Also by 1997, the animation was gorgeous. (Best example of third season animation I could think of that didn't have spoilers)
youtube
The show was green-lit for a fourth season on Cartoon Network, but halfway through production Warner Bros took over and the same fucking thing happened.
Because Mainframe was halfway done, they decided not to scrap all of it, but knowing they wouldn't be able to finish it correctly, Mainframe stripped anything that would hint at Season Four's true ending, then left what remained on a cliff-hanger of angst.
FOR 22 YEARS
Tumblr media
(It's also why the last four eps of season four seem to make no sense)
And so it was.
Other crap happened, the soul left Mainframe, and its animated corpse spat out “The Guardian Code” in 2018.
Tumblr media
But never say die! The year is (almost) 2024, 30 years later. ReBoot shall rise from the dead, because here come the documentary!!
youtube
Do you dare see what you’ve been missing?
What the (UK) government doesn’t want you to know??
Then come on down to ReBoot!
We got:
Magnificent bastards with sexy voices!
youtube
(Tony Jay at his best)
Kickass women who could probably crush your head with their thighs and you’d enjoy it!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Innuendos in a kid's show!
youtube
youtube
Tumblr media
💗 This adorable cinnamon roll!! 💗
Tumblr media
Insane third season glow-ups!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
YOUR NEW GOD
Tumblr media
These guys!
Tumblr media
(Gay roller-skating binome is my boi. I named him Jerry)
Nonstop cultural refs (You'll never find them all. Never.)
Tumblr media
(There are literally videos dedicated to trying)
So many computer puns!
Tumblr media
Body Horror!
Tumblr media
Existential Crisis!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HAVE I MENTIONED YOUR NEW GOD?
youtube
This is it, folks! The real thing, the gem hidden in the moose-filled forests of Canadia!🌲🌲🌲
Take a trip inside a mid-90’s computer!
Tumblr media
See the World Wide Web! (omg):
Tumblr media
Witness the original purple Gamecubes that randomly fall from the sky when the owner of the computer (OUR GOOD LORD THE USER) wants to play a game. If it lands on people and they lose, they dissolve into mindless energy leeches, fated to tormented by their former bretheren for all of eternity.
Just like in real life! 🙃
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So watch the eps! They on YouTube!
youtube
I think they're on Pluto, Hulu, Sling, and Tubi too! Also DVDs for people who have the patience to wait for them!
WATCH! BELIEVE! SUFFER THE SOUL-CRUSHING RAGE OF THE SEASON 4 CLIFF-HANGER!* (come on, its fun!)*
HYPE THE DOC!
The more people hype, the better the chances of actually getting it finished.
NOW SHARE THIS WITH EVERYONE!
And now I will leave you with this screenshot from the ep "Painted Windows", where dicks can clearly be seen drawn upon the wall behind the fleeing anthropomorphized television.
Tumblr media
(PS: If you heard the clown pic at the top of the page in your head, you're welcome)
IMPORTANT UPDATE
This message is now approved by Gavin Blair! He's an awesome guy. Show him some love on TWITTER (fuck you musk) at @TheRealMrSweary Also, if you want to share this with non-tumblr friends, here is my attempt at a webpage version:

FLUFF ALPHABET | NIKKI SIXX
UGH NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS BUT I DID HALF OF THIS A LONG TIME AGO AND FOUND IT SO I JUST FINISHED IT. AND THE ABC THING DID REALLY GOOD ON MY OLD ACC SO IM PRAYING THIS WONT FLOP.
word count; 1984
warnings; drugs, sex, alcohol, him getting a little angry, him being bitten by a dog, physical abuse (his step dad), lmk if I missed any (its funny when I see ppl say that knowing damn well yall won't say shit💀)
Tumblr media
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
nikkis pretty affectionate, loves PDA and stuff. hes down for anything from just having a hand on your back to fucking you on a car in a parking lot. he doesn't care. he also likes cuddling and just hugging you, not just when he wants something or he's done something.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend?)
most likely fwb if you guys would be best friends. if not then at least have hooked up once or twice. but as a best friend he'd keep you around a lot, let you hang in the studio, get high with you at parties and makes sure you're safe (even though he encourages you to get shitfaced, and challenges you to drink offs)
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
YES he likes cuddles and you can't change my mind. fucked up, sober, upset or not, doesn't matter, he likes cuddling. his favorites could be face to face with your leg over his waist (he likes to sneak some touches sometimes) or his head on your chest or your head on his chest with one arm around you and the other to hold a bottle of liquor, or if he's needy, everything but sober, and upset, he likes wrapping his arms tight around your waist with his head basically between your tits. boobies make pain go away.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down?)
He would want to settle down but at a certain time. He said he's always wanted to be a dad and he would want to get married someday. like, I don't see you and him accidentally getting married in Vegas even in his drunkest state because he doesn't wanna get married now, what would you guys do when you were really ready to settle down and you guys already got married in 1984 or something?
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
if you guys had a real connection then he'd probably be upset about it for a while. he'd probably end it because he had to choose between the band or you or something. he'd probably call you and break it off or meet up with you and break it off. but just because you guys broke up doesn't mean you could get another boyfriend or something while he's still around. he on the other hand would probably hook up with someone in the next 24 hours.
but if it was just a fling or you guys dated for a week or two hed probably just tell you it wasn't working and leave or he might not say anything at all.
F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
he wants to get married but not yet, he didn't know when. hell, he could've proposed with just the question a long time ago, but wouldn't get married until he knew he wouldn't be all fucked up. definitely would not get married around the time he was strung out on heroin 24/7. most likely would get married after the whole 2 minute death and wake up call.
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
He thinks he's more gentle than he actually is. not saying he's throwing you around all the time but hes definitely done some damage, accident or not. more so rough with your emotions and sometimes neither of you know it.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
he likes hugs, he hugs you enough to where it means something each time. he doesn't side hug you, if he's gonna hug you hes gonna make it a hug. hes the type to make sure you hug back and if you don't he'll keep hugging you until you do or until you hug tight enough. sometimes he'll fuck with you and keep telling you to hug him tighter and you end up feeling like you're taking his blood pressure or something. hes a tall guy so assuming you're shorter, when you hug him its normally where he sprays his cologne so you can smell it while you hug. but when he's a 6’4 monster in his platform heels you're to like his stomach or something.
I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)
either really quick or really late. no inbetween. like the night you met or started dating hed tell you he loves you and acts like you've been dating forever and you're the one, or he waits too long to say it.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
yes. LMAO THATS ALL I GOTTA SAY. I've made posts about his Jealousy, and its not just cannon, its a fact. if we had to say from a scale from 1-10, I'd say his Jealousy is always like a 7.4 and up. dosn't matter who, if he doesn't like them and you guys are talking, he feels more Possessive than insecure.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)
everywhere that can be kissed he will kiss. he likes a lot of tongue action in kisses, like his tongue would be all over yours of he'll suck on your tongue. something freaky like that. really, he likes to kiss you on your mouth but when he's fucked up he misses and like makes out with your neck or something.
L = Little ones (How are they around children?)
he loves children. its like a public secret. I have a picture of him when he went to Idaho and there was this little girl and I cant remember if she was opening a present or something, but he was just kinda watching her (i put the picture at the top). if you have younger siblings hed wanna meet them and get to know them, but if they don't like him and wants you to break up with him hed literally give zero shits. if it were like a pre teen hed probably be a little more awkward than with little kids or teenagers. hed probably be like “so, you like rock? you play anything?”
M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)
uh.. you guys rarely see mornings unless you're just going to bed in the morning. but waking up with him at any time there will be vomit, screaming (telling the other to be quiet while throwing up since the other has a headache), pain killers (maybe one too many) and more jack.
N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)
now were talking. you already know. booze, drugs, sex, music, fights, all that.
O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)
he probably wouldn't bring up his childhood by himself, maybe if you asked, but you gotta be careful. he wouldn't spill it all at once, maybe if he did itd be a drunken rant and you can't understand half the things he's saying besides hearing “whore mother” and “asshole dad”, but he would willingly tell you things like how he has a half sister who lived with his mom, and some things he did when he was young. but maybe after all those little things he says about his childhood and you piece it together you can get an idea of what happened. or maybe if he ever took you down to Idaho to meet his grandparents, his grandmother would show you the few pictures she has of him as a child, and her being the sweet lady she was shed probably just tell you about his mom and stuff.
P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)
not really easily angered but easily annoyed and irritated that can lead to anger. hell get irritated when something doesn't go his way, and if its not fixed in a short amount of time hell get mad. he'll get annoyed at the phone ringing when you guys are having sex, and he'll get irritated if someone keeps calling. its like a loop.
Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)
he'll remember what he can, he'll forget most of what you told him one night but would try and fill in the missing parts. but when you keep reminding him of what you actually said after like 2 more times, it sticks, and his memory gets better the more you guys date. because he knows you'll get tired of repeating and he really does wanna know your moms secret macaroni ingredient or some shit.
R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)
probably the first time you hooked up. hes probably had his eye on you and you didn't really wanna move that fast in a relationship, but you managed to wait maybe 3-5 days in the relationship before you guys had sex.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts?)
its your birthday? pick what you want and he'll buy it. already picked what you wanted? he got you more shit. anniversary? probably rented out like a whole part of a club that was kinda blocked off so you guys could fuck on the couch with the table almost full of fruity drinks you wanted to try.
U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)
I could go on and on. either read my other posts or you don't know him enough💀
V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)
God, hell genuinely tweak if his hair isn't a foot tall with hairspray. but when he's having a good makeup day he smiles :] like that :].
W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)
in a way. if you guys went strong and made it a while, hed probably feel lonely without you, or confused. like when he's just by himself and he's thinking of you and that you're not there, he has the look you make when you enter a room and forgot why you went in there.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
this isn't cannon but Nikki hates German shepherds because when he was young his step father (the one who beat him for brushing his teeth wrong) had one and the dog would always bite him and the guy didn't do anything about it. and when they were driving to Mexico the dog was in the car and bit him the whole way there
I feel like he makes good smores though LMAOO
Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)
now.. he said he doesn't like curly hair because he said everyone he's met that had curly hair was cock eyed. but don't let that stop you, it'll grow on him. hell still stand for not liking curly hair but would word it differently when talking about you. “her hair isn't curly its fuzzy. and I like it.”
Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)
hed take up the whole bed. he doesn't move much in his sleep so don't let him lay all stupid on the bed or he won't move. he also probably doesn't like blankets that much, he always kicks them off or gets annoyed at night from being hot and just aggressively but softly throws the rest of the blanket on your sleeping body.

Full Audio Transcript (6.17.24)
The following episode contains potentially disturbing content and we want to alert trauma survivors. It contains material that for some may be difficult to discuss or listen to.
This is He Said, Ella Dijo with Eric Winter (EW) and Rosalind Sanchez (RS).
RS: Como estas, Eric?
EW: Oh, bien bien, and you?
RS: Hoy tenemos una persona muy especial, mi gente. Guys, we are, I know you don't, but you're learning. We are excited about our guest today. He's an actor currently on ABC's 911, which is a huge show.
EW: In the ABC family.
RS: Yes, you may know him from Step Up dance films or from playing the sexy boy next door opposite Jennifer Lopez.
EW: That's right, we have Ryan Guzman. He's here with us today to talk about his new film, The Present, out tomorrow. We're excited not only to dive into his career, but so many other personal things he's opened up about—mental health, his career, so many other things he's been talking about. So let's bring him in.
RS: Yeah, looking forward to Ryan Guzman.
Ryan Guzman (RG): How you guys doing? You guys sweating in that room?
EW: Yeah, man, it's been hot in here. We don't want that air running because you're gonna hear it in the background. So we're just like, this is all for you, Ryan. We're just gonna be sweating the whole podcast.
RS: My armpits almost stink, I hate it!
EW: Yeah, that's great. Great way to open up the podcast.
RS: It’s terrible. Anyways, we're so happy that you are joining us. Thank you so much for doing this.
EW: Yeah, fellow ABC star now. I know you guys jumped over from Fox. You're now on the network where I'm at.
RG: Yeah.
EW: How's that transition been? Has it been weird? I've never been a part of a show that jumped networks. Did it feel totally seamless to you?
RG: Honestly, I've never been a part of something like this either. I mean, I've been on four other TV shows and this one—it felt like a revamp for our show. So it's just like, as soon as we went from Fox to ABC, all of this promotional that we've never even seen in six seasons happened.
EW: Yeah, like a relaunch almost.
RG: Yeah, it was a relaunch. So it was, you know, a blessing. We're all grateful for it.
EW: Which is great. You guys came out with a bang. The ratings were great. You guys were sitting pretty in a good position.
RS: How many seasons now?
RG: Now we're gonna be going on our eighth.
RS: And you've been part of it since the very beginning?
RG: Since the second season.
RS: Since the second, wow, long gig. That's awesome. Good for you!
RG: It happened perfect timing right before I was about to have my first born.
EW: Really?
RS: Oh my God, perfect.
EW: Congrats. So your first born is how old then right now?
RG: Five.
EW: Five. And you have just one right now? You have a second?
RG: No, two. Yeah, I have two. I have a three year old. Little boy, Mateo and my baby girl, Genevieve.
RS: Oh, that's beautiful.
EW: Changes your perspective on everything, right?
RG: Amplified everything. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I'm also losing hair quicker than I'd like, but.
RS: Yeah. We just did a podcast and we were talking about parenthood, you know, and generational trauma and how I understand my mom now that I'm fifty-one more than ever. You know? My whole life, it was all about, I don't get her. I don't get it. I don't get her. Why, why, why? And now as a mom of a twelve-year-old girl, I just go, okay, now I get my mom.
EW: Yeah, you're not there yet. You're getting some challenges, I'm sure. You know that they say with the terrible twos, the terrible threes, the fucking fours, the fucking fives. That's it! It'll beep those curse words out. But I mean, there's challenges at every level, but there's also so many blessings and so much fun.
RG: Yeah, I'm sure right now as a twelve-year-old girl in this day and age—I'm sure it's insane.
RS: It is work. It's a little work. It's beautiful, listen, it's delicious, it's amazing. She's awesome. We have a little star. She's a tennis player. She's a good girl. But she is so fierce. She's fiercely independent, and she's at the age that I know everything and you don't know anything and just leave me alone because I am finding who I am. And sometimes you want to slap her and be like, you don't know, you don't know shit. So it's interesting.
EW: Let me ask you this, Ryan, because we were just having a conversation about our son is very, very passive. And I mean, he's coming out of his shell more and more, but we have some good friends that started their kids at a very young age in jujitsu and all these things that are just great training grounds to learn for self-esteem, for self-defense, for all these things, right? You grew up doing taekwondo, correct? Got your black belt in taekwondo. Started where you were like around eight, am I right? In that range?
RG: Yeah, it was my seventh year old birthday I started, yeah.
EW: What was the reason that, was that just, why not, I'm gonna try something new? Or was there something that prompted you to go, ah, taekwondo, I wanna jump in?
RG: Way too many Bruce Lee films.
EW: Yeah, I was gonna say, because I used to love watching movies like that too and get excited. So that—it just became a cool thing. You're like, I wanna do it.
RG: It was, honestly, it was everything. Bruce Lee was my idol, he still is my idol. From the philosophical to the physical, it was just a key component in my own evolution. So as I got to read more books, I mean, I was a young kid reading Bruce Lee books and Richard Marchenko books, which are Navy Seal books. I don't know why my interest led me there, but I feel like I needed that kind of structure. And that structure has been such an incredible foundation for, I mean, all of the success that I've been able to be grateful to get. So I highly advise every parent to put their kids into Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling at least, if not some Taekwondo or karate or some kind of martial arts, especially if you're a boy.
RS: I told you.
EW: I'm open to it. I have no problem with it.
RS: We just talked about this.
EW: I have no problem with that. I just know my kid's not gonna do it yet. He's six. I just know like his personality. He did a version of like a Taekwondo for a bit. He lasted, it was like, you know, little kids running around.”
RS: No he never—he did karate.
EW: Well karate. I think it was Taekwondo.
RS: No, it was karate.
EW: It was for sure a blend.
RS: Really?
EW: For sure a blend, it wasn't just straight cut. But he did it for a few years and then kind of got bored, right? And like with any discipline, it takes a lot of work, a lot of patience. I think the age you started feels like a pretty solid age to dive into something that takes that much focus and patience as well to learn.
RS: Did they get hurt though? At six and at seven, when you see them fighting and doing Jiu Jitsu, that is such a physical and a contact sport, do they get hurt?
RG: Yeah, I mean, they can get hurt, but they can also heal really quick. They're young. So I mean, when I was doing Taekwondo, I ended up sparring guys that were like actually twenty-years old to even my master and actually got taken out of—what was it?—a tournament because I broke my hand trying to break, I'm trying to block one of his kicks.
EW: Oh wow.
RS: Oh no.
RG: Yeah. I would say there's different, you know, personality types. I think from one to six, it's less about the structure and less about the discipline. It's more about play.
EW: Yeah.
RG: How can you allow them to feel comfortable in their own bodies and know their movement and then play with this now new martial art? And then after that, then yeah, you start to develop more structure and discipline and say, this is, you know, we got to tame the mind before we tame the body. And you start to understand a little bit more of why it's called an art, martial art.
EW: And when you first started competing, what age were you when you jumped in and then you started fighting, taking shots?
RG: I think it was right away. I was like, I'm around maybe eight, nine. Yeah, around that time.
EW: You learn life lessons quick, right? Like Mike Tyson says, everybody's got a plan till you get punched in the face. Then you have to figure it out.
RG: Yeah, yeah, I wanted to be quick. I wanted to be powerful. And I think another reason why I liked Bruce Lee so much is he was a tiny man. He wasn't a massive, like Michael Jai White kind of guy. So he was able to demand respect just off of his own technique. And I thought, you know, okay, I need to copy that. Technique can beat power and strength or technique can beat strength. So I ended up doing that and proving to myself like, oh, even at eight years old, I can be a force. And as soon as I started doing actual sparring, I just kind of fell in love with it, with the competition of it.”
RS: So Taekwondo and then MMA, right? Because you did a little bit of MMA. So all this is just fighting. When did acting came to the table? Like, and how?
RG: The acting was something I never even thought of coming from Sacramento, I mean, that's not even something that we talk about out there. And it's either martial arts or working for the state or an automotive job. But none of that called me. I was doing modeling in San Francisco. I got offered to do a photo shoot in LA, and I just asked my modeling agency from San Fran to hook me up with an agency in LA, not knowing the racket that modeling is. And I stayed in a one bedroom with five guys creating a massive amount of debt before I learned there was commercials and there was acting available. And I think the competitive streak just kind of clicked. And I was like, well, I want to get out of this situation. That seems to be making a lot more money. And this is the time and day where commercials—the nationals were actually bringing in some money. I don't know if the landscape's the same anymore.”
EW: It's very different for sure.
RG: Yeah, so I was very fortunate at the time to catch the tail end of that. And then I remember being a new twenty-three year old in LA. I'm going to clubs, I'm enjoying, I'm having a great time. And I'm seeing some of the guys that are being successful as actors. And they're kind of like, they were idiots, to be honest. So I was like, how are these guys, you know, so successful? Like I got to try this acting thing out. And I remember I didn't have enough money to download scripts. So I would just take the same page or pages that I had in my place and I'd write my own scripts off of the internet. And I would invite two or three, maybe even five guys over to the house, and I'd just start doing those scenes in front of them. And that was kind of my acting class. And then I went and auditioned for a manager, didn't get that manager, got another one who is my manager today. Three months after that, I booked the lead in Step Up and my life forever changed.
RS: Oh my God. So it was fast.
RG: Within nine months. So yeah.
RS: That's incredible. Good for you. That's incredible.”
EW: I can relate to your journey in a lot of ways. I had a similar—I went from sports to modeling to the same thing, curiosity with acting, reading different books about acting, seeing people do commercials. And like you said, back in the day, you could do one national commercial and if it was a good one, you could actually make your living for the year off of just one commercial. And little by little, just very, very similar path. I didn't get one big movie out the gate that changed my career. It took a lot of grinding. That's an amazing blessing to have something like that happen. And then you have to balance the ebbs and flows of this business at that point, right?
RS: The dancing was just organic to you? Or you were a dancer? A lot of people have that question. Does he really dance?
RG: It was something, I think it's—culturally, I don't know, just being Mexican-American, I was literally raised with my family going to do, like Quinces' [Quinceañeras], or like just parties in general, we'd always dance. And it was less about the one, two, three, ba, one, two, like doing any kind of structured kind of stuff, more of the feel. And I've always loved dancing, but never on that level.
RS: How was it having to follow choreography?
RG: It was kind of like fighting. I put it next to it because the amount of hours we did—we did eight hours every single day for about two, three months. I remember seeing the guy that, and I feel bad because I gave him such a hard time. He was supposed to be my dance double, but my competitive streak was just like, no, no, no. I gotta be that guy. So I would do the eight hours with everybody and then I'd videotape our session and I'd go home and I'd do another two, three hours by myself. And just go over and over, and then I ended up being in every scene.
RS: That's awesome.
EW: Good for you.
RS: Have you done a movie playing a fighter, like an MMA, a boxer or something like that? Have you done that already?
RG: I've not. I've wanted to for the longest time. And I don't know if—I think it'll come. Everything's happening for a reason. I believe in... to, actually what you were saying earlier, getting that job right out the gate, it was overwhelming. It was too much for me at the time. I wasn't ready to be catapulted in the way I was. And I wasn't an actor really. I wasn't really a dancer. I had kind of just been fooling everybody.
RS: How old were you?
RG: I was twenty-three.
RS: Oh baby, okay.
RG: Yeah, so I'm brand new with all this.
EW: Months in, like you said, months in.
RG: Yeah, and everybody's thinking that I'm this thing and I'm kind of taking it. My ego was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, maybe I am. And then reality kind of checked me and the next movie I did and two movies after that were bombs and I realized I don't know anything about this business. So I would say up until maybe three years ago, I didn't really call myself an actor and I was just lucky to count my stars that I was amongst other actors that were like a Jennifer Lopez or working with the Richard Linklater and now Glenn Powell being who he is now. So just super grateful that I got the time and maybe the hustle that I had, those combined allowed me to stay and have some longevity in this career.
RS: Did you get caught up in the whole business—the ugly dark side of Hollywood because you were so young and it came so fast?
RG: I didn't get caught up, but I definitely got put onto it, and it quickly showed me I want no part of it. That's why I kind of say to myself, I stay with my kids. I rarely do any press, but that was just like, the fame game was never something... I don't want to be seen too much and then have to speak in front of thousands of people as if I'm speaking for them. I can only speak for myself and my experience and hopefully people connect to it. But I saw a lot of people that were not necessarily skilled in any asset becoming really famous and rich. And it kind of just wasn't feeding anything other than a hole in the soul. So it kind of made me go a different direction.
RS: That's amazing.
EW: Do you remember on your climb at any point—maybe an older actor you came across that maybe, maybe not a full mentor—but somebody who guided you or gave you some words of wisdom early on that might have helped you navigate this business or any of that even failed you and just set you back going, oh, that was a horrible example of somebody on set? You don't have to name names if you don't want, but I'm just curious if you had people that hit those marks.
RG: I've definitely been blessed to be, I mean, I've worked with some of the greats, Edward James Olmos, Jennifer Lopez, I mean, Juliette Lewis. I've worked [with] some amazing actors and actresses. I could, yeah, I would never name names, but I have gotten some really good advice and some really like [makes a noise] advice. And... so grateful for the good advice. Eddie Olmos has given me some incredible advice. He's just a sound individual.
EW: He's a great human.
RG: Yeah, and his son, Michael Olmos, another sound individual. But I think it was just on all aspects—just stay true to you. I think that's the general narrative that I've gotten from plenty of other individuals. It's just, no one can do you. And your uniqueness is meant to kind of shine in its own unique way. So if you're trying to be—I can't be Antonio Banderas I can't be, even though I'm a Latin actor, I can't be somebody else that's already had that role. I need to just kind of explore myself and allow that to shine, and that's what I feel like I'm just starting to tap into these past couple of years. So I'm really excited to see where it goes.”
RS: Before we talk about your movie coming out tomorrow—and listen, we don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, because we want to be very respectful—but we read that and you came out openly saying that you had to deal with some mental situations, and you battle a little bit of depression at some point in your life. Only if you want to talk about it, otherwise we don't have to. I was just very curious, where did depression come from? If you even know.
RG: Yeah, I've spent many, many years dissecting where the depression has come from, and it's essentially from people pleasing. It's a trauma coping mechanism that I started a long time ago when I was a child, and I didn't even realize it. And it's kind of these things that I'm aware of now raising my own children to give them less to work on later on in life and give them a better foundation. But yeah, as I got older, I started to realize that I was people pleasing so much to a detriment that I had nothing left for myself. And I've even watched old interviews and where I'm smiling the whole time and trying to say the right thing and do the right thing and be the perfect individual, be the all-American boy, and that's not who I really am. I'm flawed and I have my own issues, and I think being raised a Mexican-American man who's not supposed to tap into his feelings or understand them, let alone, that set me back a lot. So I came to a point about seven years ago where I reached my limit, and I had just seen my parents' divorce. I had just gone through a horrible relationship, and I was looking around for some kind of aid, somebody to be there, and no one was there.
And I realized that I had been leaning on the wrong people. So feeling that lonely, feeling like you wake up and you just know what's gonna happen every single day is just kind of a time suck and it's quicksand, and that's how the depression kind of starts. And luckily, I got a second chance, and from that moment forward, it kind of just awoken—I awoke into something new, something better and a path towards a purpose. So. Yeah.
RS: The second chance came from within, from a person, from a book?
RG: The second chance came from my attempt at not working. So I'm a very extremist person type, and right after my attempt did not work, I just started crying like crazy. And I was in a horrible environment. Somebody was yelling at the other side of the door. You know, just horrible things were happening at the time. And then after I stopped crying, I remember sitting on my bed and just having this moment of like this epiphany. You can't ever be the same. You got to be something different because you've already reached the absolute limit with this type of person you are. You got to deconstruct, break everything down because the foundation you've been building on is so fractured and cracked. And for the last six, seven years now, I've broken myself down and try to stay as humble as I possibly can and look at all the horrible things about me and then kind of start from there and rebuild and heal and allow myself to be a different individual and actually show and implore people to change via changing myself.
RS: That's amazing.
EW: Yeah, thank you for sharing that. I think a lot of our listeners will gain a lot just hearing. Maybe they don't go through something to the extent you went through, but everybody deals with some sort of down moment, whether it gets as far as a deep depression or not, and a lot of people don't know how to even pull out of the simplest thing. And you, like you said, hit a level of rock bottom and had that epiphany. Thank God. Now, I mean, you're a dad and you have so much to offer your children and let alone your own— yourself and your life. You have so much more to do—so thank you for sharing that. That's powerful.
RS: I'm assuming spirituality is very important in your life at the moment.
RG: Yes. Yes. Yeah. That's part of my purpose as well. I was raised a Catholic. I was an altar boy at one point in time. I went into the seminary for a little bit. And then I kind of disassociated with the church and religion in general. I saw the underbelly of it. But yeah, my spirituality is—I started to reread the Bible and tap back into my spirituality and just be open to Eastern and Western, allowing all forms to kind of really like be permeable. So I think there's so much to this life that to say that you know it all is kind of cutting yourself off of so much opportunity and abundance. Yeah, so that's kind of where I'm at right now. Just—I'm exploring that with like-minded individuals, and propelling love rather than fear, so.
EW: It's great that you're putting all this into perspective in your life now because especially—I know every business has challenges, but I think in a business like ours, where so many people—their happiness hinges on the ups and the false belief that people around you have all the time—and the moment you don't deliver, the moment people's attitudes or perceptions of you change, or the moments—it's such a roller coaster emotionally, the business that we're in, that a lot of people, I think, aspire or want—they want it so bad because they see fame, they see that meaning, the all-encompassing success. You must be happy because people know who you are. It's like nobody has to know who you are to be happy.
I like what you said—just staying out of press unless you want to do something or maybe you have a social media presence when you want. But it's not because you feel the need to feed the ego to be seen by everybody else. It's something that speaks to you, so I'll do it. But it's not to please people. And that's what this business has become for so many others. I need to constantly please. And when I'm not pleasing, I failed. And when you fail, you feel like, what have you accomplished? You could have accomplished—you could be an Oscar winner and it still wouldn't be enough. Because you're gonna fail at some point again. Like it's very rare that someone just rides high all the way through in this business. And so I think our business is such a tough one to navigate the waters you've been through. But thankfully you're putting those pieces in perspective now, which I think is perfect timing because your career is just gonna continue to go and go and go and go and go like that, because that's just what the business does. But you've got the tools now.
RS: It's brutal, to be honest. So it's good when we find spirituality and when we have all the things going for us that are so much more important, like parenthood. Because for me, I decided to be a mom late in life because it was all about career, career, I need to make it. And I wasn't searching fame. My problem with the business—and the lows were low. Not because, oh, I'm not where I wanna be because I wanna be famous. It was more about why do I have to constantly prove myself? I've done big movies, I've done huge TV shows and then why is there, what I call in the meantime, this moment of nothing that all the stuff that you have accomplished basically becomes nothing and you have to do it all over again. And it's the constant, I'm swimming against the current. It's not about being famous. It's about why, like it's been almost 30 years. Why do I still have to prove to you that I can do this when just look at my body of work? I've done it many times before. And it is very frustrating.
RG: Both of you guys have great points. I mean, and both of you guys' careers speak for themselves. I would say that I've been blessed now again with this new chance at life that I've come to understand it's more about connectivity. Connectivity to like minded individuals and loved ones and connectivity to a purpose, which for me is creativity. So to your point, I always felt that same way where I was like trying to outdo my last thing and that was so fleeting—or get some type of money, some type of recognition, and it was all fleeting because at the end of the day, after you pass away, that's all gone.
But if you create something, you connect with somebody, that remains even after you pass. So that's what truly matters. So I find myself having deep conversations with individuals. I find myself getting lost in my art or my poetry or writing screenplays and just kind of just creating, allowing my own storytelling to come in and flourish. But it can be very defeating in the time and age that we're in right now. So many people are trying to be social media stars and do the next TikTok dance and say the next absurd thing to get all the views.
And I think they're gonna find what I ended up finding a long time ago, which—one example sticks out in my mind. I'd always wanted to throw a first pitch in a baseball game or at least be a part of a baseball game, and I luckily got invited to the LA Dodgers game. And I remember getting that experience and the people that I wanted there weren't there. So it felt meaningless. And it felt like I had no true connection. I'm like, my mom, my dad, my brother, somebody should be here. Why are they not here? I've lost all contact because I've been so busy working. I've been so focused on creating this brand of Guzman. And now I understand. It's like, none of this means anything without the people that you care about right next to you.
EW: 100%. Talk to us about your movie. This is exciting. The Present.
RG: Yeah, The Present is an awesome film. It's a good wholesome family film. Nice little comedy in there. Cause you know, Isla Fisher, Greg Kinnear, they're incredible individuals. The kids kill it in this. I mean, they're the star pupils in this film. And then it was new for me. It was a little fun role to play. You know, comedic timing, trying to master that still. But I had fun with it playing opposite of Isla. And essentially the movie is about a family who's on their way to separation going on divorce and their kids get gifted this grandfather clock and this grandfather clock can turn back time. So the kids try and use this to try and save their family's relationship. And everything that ensues is really nice.
EW: You know, when I saw the premise, I was thinking to myself, cause I come from divorced parents and I remember as a kid always going like, how can I just change this? How can I take that back? And so to put that into a movie, I think is a fun concept that anybody coming from a divorced family could probably relate to in that sense. Cause you always want to turn back time and go, is there something I could have done? And even though, you know, kids take that blame, but it's a great premise. That sounds like a lot of fun.
And comedic timing, like doing comedy and stretching, even though you've done it before and you continue to do it, it's like, it's always its own art form. It is so tricky. People don't understand how difficult great comedy is. Like, I always think some of the best actors in our business, period, are comedians, because to make someone genuinely laugh, like crying laughter, to me is way harder than making someone feel like cry with tears of sadness. I think people can tap into that as a viewer much easier than like someone genuinely making you die laughing. So just doing comedy as an actor is such a fun art form to continue to explore, I'm sure.
RG: 100%. I mean, Robin Williams is the, I would say my go for that. He shows—”
EW: Do it all.
RG: The comedy that he does is so based in truth.
EW: Yeah.
RG: It's so grounded. That's why it works. And obviously it helps that he can play like 12 million personalities, but—
EW: Totally, but then he'll crush the drama at the same time. Like he'll do drama, no problem. Then to do comedy, you don't see a lot of dramatic actors come over and knock out comedy like you see comedians go over and knock out drama.
RG: Yeah.
EW: So I think like it's awesome that you got to explore that as well.
RS: Is there one thing that you see yourself in five years doing? You have a successful show, and now you're a dad, you know, you're pretty accomplished. But if you can look at your future and be like, there's this thing that is my north is the next, is what is gonna make everything make sense and be full circle.
RG: Yeah, being my own director. Right now I'm working on a film that I've written. I'm working with an incredible director, Mo McCray, mentoring under him and taking ownership of my own career and allowing myself to kind of open the space and open the door for not even just more Latinos, but just in general for newer voices and more creative voices and human experiences. But I mean, there's always that one big thing to be like a Marvel superhero at some point in time.
RS: You will.
EW: You can have more than one North for sure, but that's a great one. That's a great one.
RS: You know, it's interesting. I'm going through the process. I'm leaving to go to Puerto Rico to do this thing that I wrote that I'm gonna direct. It's my first feature that I'm directing, and it's like, I want it to be like the second stage of my career. And it's so hard, Ryan, to—it's an independent film and to be able to raise finance, you know, it's years, you know, like we had Ricky Martin a couple of podcasts back and he was saying that he learned that in this business, everything takes five years from beginning to end is five years. And now that I think about it, I'm like, you know what? Absolutely right. It's gonna be five years, you know, once I'm done, I edit, you know, locked picture, boom, it's gonna be five years.
And it's been brutal. The process, it's been brutal because it's a lot of letdowns and people offering you all kinds of things and at the end of the day, it's all BS, you know, it's all smoke and mirrors. And the only thing that keeps me going is the love of the art and the love of what we do because I wrote it and it's so special to me. It's like my third baby. And even though I'm going through logistical nightmares and finance, is it gonna fall apart? Is it here? Is it not? When I sit down to do my shot list and when I'm actually doing the creative work of it all, I can do that all day long. All day long, because it's amazing if you love it.
RG: Yeah. Yeah, the business part of it is just—it's defeating. The creativity part of it is incredible. And I'm sure this is just gonna be, you know, an abundance of opportunity and knowledge, you know, for the next thing. And like anything you do in life, as soon as you begin something new, you probably suck at it, unless you're one of those rare few individuals that can do everything. But there is a learning process, a learning curve. And this was gonna probably be one film that spurs on so many other films now.”
RS: Amen.
RG: Watch and enjoy.
RS: Yeah, amen. Anyways, thank you.
EW: Well, Ryan, thanks for hanging with us today. This was awesome, man. Thanks for sharing everything. Wish you the very best. Obviously you're crushing it and you have a lot of great aspirations still to come. So we truly wish you the best.
RS: Thank you.
RG: Alright, guys, you guys have a great day.
RS: You too, bye bye.
EW: That was great.
RS: Oh my God, he's so wonderful.
EW: Yeah, such an awesome guy. And truly wish him the best with the trajectory and everything he has planned for his career beyond 911. I love that he's writing and wants to direct. Check out The Present movie coming out tomorrow.
RS: Tomorrow. On demand.
EW: On demand. Till next time.
RS: Bye, love you.

YOU WERE NERVOUS, i mean, rightfully so.
Monday, August 23rd. the first day of school, and the first day of your new job.
in the past, you thought you’d be anything but a kindergarten teacher. but after volunteering with a local daycare over the summer…
you were smitten.
besides, you knew one day you’d actually have kids. but that was about… seven years down the line. (yes, you had your future all mapped out)
and it’s better this way, really. you get to hang out with the kids, paint with them, read with them, talk to them, and then at three o’clock you can just return them back to their parents and not have to deal with kids all night.
perfect plan, right?
wrong.
after pacing your well-decorated classroom back and forth about sixteen times in the past twelve minutes, a fellow teacher came in to chat.
“Hi, you’re Y/N, right?”
you spun around to the source of the greeting.
“sorry, yes, i am.”
you shook his hand with an anxious type of firmness.
“it’s nice to meet you, i’m Remus. i teach seventh grade.”
his smile lit up the awkward mood in the room.
“i assume you’re a bit nervous, yes?”
“a bit more than a bit.”
you admitted embarrassingly, they were just kids.
“well, you’ve definitely gotten the best age group to start out with.”
“i have?”
“mhm, all you have to do really is teach them their ABCs, and make sure they don’t eat the non-toxic paint.”
you let out a soft chuckle at that.
“i’ll certainly try my best, Remus.” he smiled.
“well, you’re about to get some kids in here so i should probably leave. just be careful, when i started out i was so much taller than the kids that some of them climbed onto me like i was a tree.”
he chuckled, definitely easing your nerves.
“that sounds like hell.”
“it was.” he nodded, closing your door with a soft thud, leaving you to your own thoughts and feelings.
until a young boy walked in with his dad, nervously clutching onto his big hand.
“hi… you’re ms. L/N, right?”
the dad spoke in a soft spoken manner, clearly not wanting to spook his son. (totally not because he was absolutely astonished and terrified that his sons teacher was maybe the most gorgeous thing he had ever seen)
“yes, i am.”
you answered with the same tone, swallowing down your anxiety.
“well… this is harry.”
Harry ducked behind his legs.
“i’m sorry, he’s not usually shy.”
“it’s alright, everybody gets nervous the first time they try anything.”
you crouched down to the boys level.
“hi, Harry. i’m Ms. L/N.”
“h-hi, Mrs. L/N."
the boy smiled cheekily as he held his little hands.
"we're gonna have so much fun today, so don't be scared." you returned his smile, yet you were probably about as nervous as he was.
you stood back up to face his dad, he was tall... very tall, and his eyes a hazel hue.
god, was he handsome.
no, that was not a good thing to say about someone who was definitely married with a kid.
but... maybe just sneak one more glance..
but, of course. the kids began to pile in, and the handsome young dilf dad waved goodbye to his son, and turned to leave.
little did you know he was thinking of you too.
your first day on the job was incredible, and time had flown by to Christmas Break.
your classroom was lovingly decorated for the holidays, and you had gotten to know your peers a bit better.
Remus was definitely your teacher buddy, you'd get coffee every Friday after school to discuss the past week and your plans for the next.
you had come to find out (through these coffee debriefs) that Remus was actually roommates with James- Harry's incredibly hot father.
and Remus was practically Harry's uncle, along with his long-time boyfriend, Sirius,
"So you're the Moony Harry is always talking about." He chuckled, blushing embarrassingly at the nickname.
"Moony was a nickname from High School, but Remus is difficult for Harry to pronounce so we went with that to make it easier."
You smiled, Harry was a very smart kid for his age.
"so.. James, is he-?"
"single? yeah, he chased after his highschool crush for about seven years at our boarding school, and once she finally gave in they got married quickly. but she eventually realized that she didn't like James that way, and had a thing for our close friend, Mary. so they broke off, luckily it wasn't a nasty divorce but Mary wasn't ready to take on the burden of a child, so James took Harry and now he lives with us."
Remus quickly explained before realizing that was probably a ton to drop onto you all the sudden.
"i-.. sorry, i didn't mean to drop that all on you at once."
"it's alright, and i'm sorry for James."
"he's alright now, the divorce took a large blow onto all of us, since... you know.."
"from the outside it looked perfect, didn't it?"
"couldn't have explained it better myself."
He smiled, sipping on his tea.
"besides, i think he's got his eye on someone."
"oh really? who?" that was a selfish question.
"you."
"w...what?"
you deadpanned, thinking he was joking.
why hasn't he said he was kidding?
where's the punchline?
"he wont stop bloody rambling about you, Y/N."
"what?!"
"yes! he wouldn't stop talking about how you had these braided pigtails two or three weeks ago and how adorable you looked-"
his rambling about James' minute obsession with you faded into the background as you attempted to process-
James, James Potter, James Fleamont Potter, your favorite students father.
likes you, his sons Kindergarten teacher who probably has black circles under her eyes because she barely sleeps anymore cause she stays up and thinks about him-
"Y/N!"
"WHAT?"
Remus broke you out of your thought jail.
"i said that you need to set something up with him, because i know you like him too and i cant keep being the monkey in the middle and trying to get you both to finally wake the fuck up and date eachother!"
You'd never heard Remus so insistent, he was always so calm and collected.
"Remus... i've never asked anyone out before."
"And? it's really not that difficult."
you sighed, pinching your nose bridge softly.
"fine, fine. I'll talk to him Monday."
and you dreaded Monday, but it also couldn't come soon enough.
after finishing up your classes for the day, you walked Harry to James.
"Hey.. Y/N."
"James."
"Daddy!" Harry went running to James, gripping onto his leg with all of his toddler force.
"He did great today, as usual."
"That's great to hear..."
You accidentally stared into his eyes for moments longer than you should have, but it didn't feel awkward.
"Y/N, I have something i need to tell you."
"i have something i need to tell you too..."
"I like you, alot."
you blushed furiously, why wasn't this easy?
"i-i-i like you too.. alot."
"would you... want to go out for dinner, sometime?"
"I'd like that."
"FINALLY!" shouted an exasperated Harry.

Inspiration Saturday/Sevenish Sentence Sunday:
Tagged by: @daffi-990 and @loserdiaz
There's a mood board above that is inspired by some of the moments in they don’t know (your name is already mine) aka Dog Tags Fic/Mistaken Identity/Christmas Fic:
“Mr Nash, I am so sorry about the mix-up.” “How did it happen?” The doctor holds out a plastic bag, “He had no ID on him apart from this, we just assumed,” Bobby takes the bag, inside is a pair of dog tags, he can just make out Eddie’s name on them, “We’ve contacted Mr Buckley’s emergency contact,” “Eddie.” “Yes, we left him a message, his phone went to voicemail, but you are also on Mr Buckley’s emergency contact list, so you are welcome to stay.” “Buck has a history of clotting and an allergy to-” “-Naproxen, yes Mrs Grant informed us.”  Bobby nods, eyes still stuck on the dog tags, “Thank you, Doctor,” Athena says.  He feels Athena’s hand on his arm, he looks up at her, “Why was Buck wearing Eddie’s tags? I-I didn’t even know he still had them.” She shrugs, “I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough, depends on if Eddie gets here first or Buck wakes up.” “Do you know something I don’t?” He asks but his wife just gives him another kiss on his cheek before turning to enter Buck’s hospital room. He tucks the bag in his jacket pocket before one of his team gets nosey about it, he’s got a hunch about it meaning something big and he wants to give Buck and Eddie the chance to tell them their selves.

I know that I was going to try be positive, but I just have to say this really quick before I can go back to trying to stay positive.
If your first instinct when you see people freaking out about yet another POC character being let go and written out of the show is to say "Oh they were just deadweight" or "Oh, shows write off recurring characters all the time", I need you to look back on your biases and rethink your words and the implications they have.
I don't care if you're white or a person of color, you've been thinking that this is normal when it shouldn't be.
Just because shows write off recurring characters doesn't mean that we should all just be like "Oh, they're writing off an Indian character, they do that all of the time." It's a pattern and they regularly do it mostly to POC characters. It's not something we're making up or exaggerating, it's a real problem in Hollywood.
And just because it's something they normalized doesn't mean we should just accept it! Just accepting it's normal has never been the way that change happens and it's not going to give us more main characters who are people of color. Shows are going to continue to write off recurring characters who are people of color and people who think it's normal will just keep letting it happen.
Also, Ravi is not deadweight, at all.
Yes, he's not entirely on the A-shift with the main characters and has been going back and forth from being on the A-shift and the B-shift, but he literally is a part of the Gerrard plotline because he was on the A-shift when they find out Gerrard is their new captain. And before that, he had an entire arc where Bobby sent Chimney to the academy not just so Chimney could gain confidence but also so he could bring Ravi back to the 118. We know a little bit of his backstory and how he had leukemia in his childhood!
Ravi is not a background character who was just there, he had storylines and lore. He had the same amount of scenes in season 7 than Josh, but none of y'all are saying Josh is a deadweight background character. He has interacted with the 118 more than Tommy has in all of his scenes combined.
Yes, there's no actual proof that Anirudh isn't coming back for season eight and there's a possibility that he may be in the later half of the season. But if it is true that he's not coming back, then it is a symptom of a larger problem that has been going on for years now. And no, we're not saying that Tim/ABC are intentionally doing this to be racist, but it is racist even when unintentional because they're (unintentionally) continuing the pattern of removing POC characters for seemingly no reason despite bringing back white characters who have the same amount of screen presence.
And the way some of you are opening spewing racist rhetoric right now despite saying people are being homophobic for their Tommy hate a few days ago is very telling. No, I'm not saying that the Tommy hate is or isn't homophobia, I'm saying that is funny (in a very hypocritical way) that you think homophobia is wrong but not the racism you're accepting as normal.

Hi! Heading into season 8 with buck and tommy, do you think it’s about time they cement a relationship for buck as a long term or endgame potential? My impression is that Tim doesn’t like to have certain things set and stone to leave potential for whatever it is he wants to explore but going into the 8thseason, with no idea on how much longer the show will go on for before being cancelled or before a main(s) decide to leave, I would say it’s time to commit to a relationship for buck and they’ve built a good foundation with him and tommy.
also because I can’t imagine another season of the same, relationship -> breakup -> single -> relationship and so on. Buck’s love life being secure in the sense that he’s no longer searching for love also gives potential for newer, fresher storylines to be explored. I just don’t know if a part of Tim is holding out hope that buddie will get greenlit at some point so he’ll continue this single/relationship/breakup trajectory with buck and eddie until that can happen or if he’s ready to move on and let them both find happiness. But if it is the former, to me that would really hurt the characters development and growth and would make even canon buddie feel just bland in a way because they just did it because “they could” now.
my desire is that Tim commits to this relationship and continues to develop it in a way that by 8b affirms them as endgame, I think it would be a mistake not to and let the development fizzle out.
the paradox of tv is that “this couple is for all intents and purposes endgame” and “anything could happen so there is no real endgame” have to awkwardly co-exist. bc nobody would balk at the idea of calling madney or bathena ‘endgame’ yet irl considerations could interfere. or what if tracie gets offered a series regular gig somewhere down the line?
But, this isn’t grey’s, once they have something that works they seem to want stick with it. Even when they had to write JLH out for her maternity leave they did it in a way that made it pretty easy for madney to reconcile.
I think when tim says he “doesn’t have a plan” what he really means is he doesn’t want to write himself into a corner (imo this is what happened in s6 with the couch metaphor but that’s a whole other post). despite being chaotic, writing as they go, does reduce the risk of random loose ends they can’t tie up because a sl got killed half way through cooking.
Having buck in a LTR gives them space to explore new things with buck (bisexuality or not) so now that they’ve found something that does work, that’s had positive audience and critical reception, I think they’d be insane to throw that away.
Also, idk how much I buy into the idea that tim’s secretly a buddie shipper and the only reason he’s not doing it is bc tptb said no. I think he agrees it’s a plausible interpretation of buck and eddie’s relationship, that doesn’t mean it was intentional, that he has any interest in doing it, or that he thinks it would work well as a story within the confines of a network procedural.
I’ve seen others question the longevity the show has at this point but idk, the only character I see stagnating a bit is unfortunately eddie (but I’ll hold off until s8 for a final judgement). And on a practical level, abc has just poured a shit ton of money and marketing into the show, so assuming the ratings don’t tank in s8 I’m optimistic we’ll get a s9. Yes it’s expensive to make, but more than it needs to be tbh. Like there were cheaper ways to have that cruise ship sink, they did not need to write a prohibitively expensive hijacking into it.
really the tldr; is that we don’t know what the future holds but I think there’s every reason to be optimistic the shows heading in a positive direction.

Tease Tidbit Tuesday
Tagged by the super duper @spotsandsocks @diazsdimples @dangerpronebuddie @tizniz @wikiangela @bidisasterbuckdiaz and @daffi-990 Thank you all so much!
Ya'll I have officially hit 500 followers here on tumblr and to celebrate that, I have started a new wip that I am going to work very hard to get out in the next few days. I've made very good progress so far and I am so excited for this idea, but I'm not going to give too much away. I will though, share this smidge and let ya'll take a guess. (Only @daffi-990 knows entirely and she is keeping my secret) Enjoy!
Eddie makes a few rules in finding a date. The first being, no one from a call. He’s personally experienced and seen how disastrous going out with someone they saved can be. Second, keep Christopher in the loop.  One broken salad bowl and a run-away kid in an Uber to ****** house was a harsh lesson that Eddie will never forget. And third…keep his options fluid. Frank and him worked too damn hard over his sexuality crisis and eventual queer acceptance for Eddie to ignore his attraction to those that weren’t women.
Hmm... and Eddie dating fic with fluidity, yet where am I taking it? And yes this is a buddie fic, but in what capacity you ask? Hehe. Just have to wait and see.
Thank you to every one of my 500 followers. I am completely blown away and just really baffled honestly, but in a good way! Hugs for all of you!

I love it when people who at least have an idea of how these things work get questions like this.
Q. Did you hear Ryan's podcast? I'm vibrating at this point 👀👀👀
A. Haha, I did listen to it, anon. It was a good reminder of why podcasts usually turn out to be the better interviews. If you're not aware, in 99% of print interviews the questions have been pre screened by the actors/show so they go into the interview already knowing pretty much everything they're going to say. It's why so many of them are repetitive. Podcasts tend to have a little more leeway. They usually only have to get topics pre-approved. So even though they know what topics are going to be discussed they don't usually know the specific questions. Now obviously those interviews come with greater risks because if your actor doesn't know how to edit themselves they could say something epically bad. Obviously this one was pre-recorded so he had a little bit of a safety cushion but it didn't appear to be heavily edited content wise. I love that he touched on the racist/bigoted thing. Even though this came prior to the entire Gerard nonsense, I'm glad he got a chance to tell those people how incredibly wrong they are where he is concerned. I hope he hasn't seen most of it, but given everything he has been tagged in I fear he has seen more than he should have ever had too.
He's in the position now that Oliver was last year. He's the one doing the promotional interviews, but he's just out of canned answers he can give, lol. There's nothing left for him to say except the 'thing' he can't yet say. So you can tell he's trying to make the same answers sound somewhat new and for the most part he was able to do that. It was though just one more thing that kind of made you go, yeah it's going where we think it's going. I just think the show is all out of later. They can't keep pushing the story to 'next season'. And I think that's why we're seeing so many winks and nods from ABC and the show. The comments they replied to yesterday were intentional. Yes, they deleted them but they knew the people who they were intended for would see them and remember them. It's time. Let's go.
Thanks Nonny!
Ah yes! Hard agree on everything here! I haven't seen/heard the whole podcast yet (I'm planning to listen tomorrow when I'm relaxing), but I've seen all of the videos, snippets and quotes about 911 and Eddie that were posted online.
Everything is aligning and people are noticing the change. There is this tentative surge of emotion of 'Oh wow, this is it. It's actually happening this time. No more clowning,' going around in fandom and even beyond the fandom. Love that for us.
So yeah, the time is right.
The time is now.
Let's go!
IMPORTANT! Please don't repost this ask and/or a link that leads straight to my Tumblr account on Twitter or any other social media. Thank you!
Heads up! For anyone who is giving me the shifty eyes for reposting Ali's updates instead of reblogging. Read this.
Remember, no hate in comments, reblogs or inboxes. Let's keep it civil and respectful. Thank you.

(Our second fluff ABC's. This time for our hothead. You can find the first fluff ABC's here. Below the cut~)
A = Admiration - Cam admires honesty.
B = Body - Any part of MC, doesn't matter. Just know Cam is very much paying attention to all of their body.
C = Cuddling - There were many nights when MC and Cam were having a sleepover that Cam ended up half laying on MC. Cam loves to cuddle, and why not do that with your favorite person?
D = Dates - For Cam he would prefer something more laid back. While he would take MC out on the town if that is what they wanted, just having that one on one time is a plus in their book.
E = Emotions - They are known as our resident hot head for a reason. Cam can take a lot, he will bury it. (Looking at all those emotions he has pushed down for MC). If Cam feels someone is being rude or out of pocket just know he will do something about it. Even if it has nothing to do with him.
F = Family - For him, those people he considers famliy are the most important to him. Whether that is MC, or MC's aunt, even doggo. They matter to Cam. Now how that applies to his own siblings, you will just have to wait and see.
G = Gifts - He loves to give gifts, believes them to be little reminders of his appreciation. If you see the inside of Cam's room, you will see trinkets from many different points in his life. Things from his childhood, such as the first pebble MC gave him. To a stack of polaroids of Kara's first steps, to when he got the doggo for MC.
H = Holding Hands - He holds hands with such fervency. Afraid that if he lets go the person whose hand he was holding will cease to exist.
I = Injury - While Cam can handle pain thanks to growing up sick, he can't handle it when it has to do with people he cares about. When he saw MC's nose bleed (thanks Cam) he nearly fainted form the sight of blood. Just the idea of hurting someone gives him the ick. (unless that person is Chris.)
J = Jokes - Definitely a jokester, sometimes you just have to laugh to keep from crying. Sadly that is one of Cam's ideals. He will be sulking out of your view.
K = Kisses - Cam kisses with urgency, as if each one will be the last. Each one more dear than the one before.
L = Love - Cam has had love for people, platonically, and romantically. Though no love burns brighter or hurts as much as the one he has for his best friend. It's a love to never be given lightly or that expects anything in return.
M = Memory - He has many memories he holds dear, from the first word Kara spoke, to his first kiss. One of his favorite memories is prom, and when he headbutted Chris. (Okay that one yeah that one is top 5.)
N = Nightmare (what is one of their fears?) - One of his biggest fears is to be discarded. To be replaced and treated as if he never mattered at all. He can do without that.
O = Oddity (what is one quirk they have?) - MC will see Cam just grab at his hair and faceplant on the table, the couch even his bed. MC has yet to find out why but they always hear Cam mumbling things under his breath.
P = Pet Names (what do they like to call you?)- Red.
Q = Quality Time (how do they like to spend time with you?) - Cam prefers to just hang out, relax. Talk about your shared past and what coul be your future. Watch really cringey shows. Share a pint of ice cream together. Help in any way he can. Also…laundry.
R = Rhythm (what song do they hum to themselves, when they think no one is listening.)- He will hum anything even if he doesn't know the lyrics, his current go to is Say Yes To Heaven by Lana Del Ray.
S = Secrets (how open are they?) - With others he's not open at all, with MC like an open book. (well except for one secret he keeps close). He will never intentionally tell MC's secrets, those are sacred to him.
T = Time (how do they spend their time?) - Pining. Doodling in a journal he keeps hidden in a drawer. Taking horrible candid photos of people. Cam also likes to read, there will always be a book dog eared in his camera bag.
U = Upset (how do they act when they're upset?) - Depends on how upset he is. While somethings he will bottle, other things will make him out swear a sailor. Cam gives it his all in a lot of things, especially when it comes to cussing someone out. Did they bump into MC, alright hes going to tell them their mother should have swallowed. Our boy is fiesty sometimes to a fault. But it's because he truly cares.
V = Vaunt (what are they proud of? Do they like to show you off?) - Their accomplishments. While his parents don't recognize how good he is as a photographer, Cam is truly good at it. At capturing a moment or an idea just with photos. It's something he prouds himself on. If he sucks at everything else, at least he knows this is the one thing he can do.
W = Warrior (how do they feel about you fighting? Would they fight for you, beside you, etc?) - He has a scar on the back of his thigh from doing just that. Cam will fight for you, beside you. To him it doesn't matter. You just tell him where to throw that punch.
X = X-Ray (how well are they able to read you?) - Very well. There will be times when Cam can read MC better than he can himself. He won't always know when something is wrong or whats wrong, especially if your relationship changes. He will try his best to figure out whats wrong.
Y = Yes (how would they propose to you?) - I can't give all the details away, but it would depend. It's not that he wouldn't plan it, it's just likely that he would be so overcome with emotion that he just blurts it out.
Z = Zen (what makes them feel calm?) - Someone touching their hand or a hug. He never really got them from his family so to him it's not only shocking when someone does it but its so comforting to him that he wishes it would never end.

I know this was a theory back in April then June and now again but they are saying Eddie is going to be gay because Ryan is going to be on celebrity family feud.
It’s so stupid sounding. They picked actors who had the availability. Did we really think Angela or peter were going to be on there?? 🤦‍♂️
And yet if Ryan didn't want to participate we'd be reading about how ABC was purposely keeping him away from Oliver and Buddie fandom, right? 🙄 Putting him back in "PR jail"? 🙄 I have no sympathy for these people when RYAN talks like this: “A man’s struggle of harnessing his emotions and having to just kind of push past them, that is very specific to us men. So, it would be advantageous for all of us to understand that." and this: "Now I see that Eddie has leaned on Buck so much that people are like… well, I mean, whatever they create is what they create.” What, may I ask, is the fucking point of wishing for something that YOUR OWN ACTORS - yes, including Oliver - aren't enthusiastic about?

I NEED EVERYONE IN THIS GODDAMN FANDOM TO TAKE A FUCKING CHILL PILL RIGHT NOW BECAUSE THIS IS NO FUN ANYMORE.
Yes, you absolutely can be disappointed that more material than initially advertised is being cut. But
a) be fucking REALISTIC about it. Promo material is being put out weeks in advance, and final cuts are being made late. The people who make the promo stuff aren't the creatives who make the final cut. Was there maybe a lack of communication and bad decision making on one side? Maybe, probably. But
b) FUCKING DON'T BE DICKS ABOUT IT! I hear people are shouting their disapproval at abc on social media now, and I really need you all to be less entitled little brats about this. The move to abc has been a blessing in many ways. We got really great episodes with a huge budget, good solid writing, and BISEXUAL BUCK. And abc have gone OUT OF THEIR WAY to hype the show, and show support to the Bi!Buck story. Everyone praised abc because Fox could have never and would have never. Now it's one fuckup that we don't even know the extent of yet because none of us have actually seen the episode, and you all are jumping at their throats?
GO TOUCH GRASS.
And maybe stop watching the show if things are so serious for you, and so severe that you lose touch of reality over it.
This isn't normal behavior or even a normal way to feel about a goddamn TV show.
Oh and while we're at it, the whole BuckTommy vs. Buddie ship war is lame and stupid and also completely out of touch with reality.
Stop harassing actors, creatives, instagram interns and other fans just because YOU are not getting what YOU want in this moment.
Go write fanfic instead.
Rant over.
