yes i'm rooting for m*leven breakup because byler is neat but mostly? i'm rooting for m*leven breakup for the sake of el and mike.

to me, their romance was always a puppy love born out of a combination of social pressures, naïve curiosity, and a lack of true understanding regarding intimacy and romantic love and what it really is. it was real in that they do truly, deeply care about each other and they are close friends, maybe even shared an attraction, but a maturing romance is so much more than that. they've grown up and out of being boyfriend/girlfriend, and that's okay! i think television/film needs to show more often that most of us don't have definite "soulmates" or first childhood loves that we spend our whole lives with. it doesn't mean these relationships meant nothing and didn't impact us, it just means they've run their course and that something else is in the cards, and this is part of life!

i've always felt el was at her best and most confident self when broken up with mike, discovering who she was and what she liked alongside another girl her age instead of just relying on mike for mentorship on how to live in the real world. she deserves more of an opportunity to find herself, her autonomy, and her independence, and to love who she is, and she's made it clear she's felt insecure in the relationship with mike because she isn't being loved and understood the way she wants, needs, and deserves from someone who is her partner.

also, it's okay if mike doesn't love her in "the way he should". he is not obligated to love her romantically and stay in a relationship with her just because she's a girl, because she "needed someone", or because he cares about her a lot. he shouldn't be pressured into a romance if it's not truly coming from his heart. he deserves freedom to find out and honour who he is, too, instead of just staying in his non-functional first relationship — one he got into as a child, essentially — and defining himself that way because it's what's expected when a boy and a girl are close. he loves her in some way, yes, but it's okay if he doesn't feel comfortable or secure being her boyfriend anymore, for whatever reason that is. he's felt insecure too, and that's valid and it matters.

they are their own people and are steadily growing and changing every day. they need time to figure out who those people are, and it's become clear (at least in my opinion) that those people aren't meant to be a couple at this stage.

they deserve freedom. they deserve to grow up and be authentic to themselves and not feel like they need to lie for the sake of a relationship. they deserve to move on from this version of their relationship that isn't making them happy and rekindle the best part of their bond: their strong, beautiful friendship. they don't have to be a couple if it doesn't make them stronger and better and happier people.

i think it would be healthy and wonderful for a show, especially one consumed frequently by young adults, to show a relationship starting, progressing, and ending on good terms in this way. sometimes things don't work out, and that is okay.

ALSO I didn't think Felix's character in the end would be wrapped up in romantic love with a gf personally; I'd prefer if he stayed in his anti-hero arc until he has some sort of catharsis that focuses on his relationship with Adrien

(And as usual the show is allergic to people apologizing to Mari 90% of the time)

Kagami telling Felix Mari's identity bc he's her boyfriend without even telling Mari first- idk that was a blow for me (ESPECIALLY bc Felix has been such a huge villain to Mari all this time)

Sidenote also thought the way she found out was weak af too bc look at how well identites have been hidden and how sacred they've been up until now

🌀 || there's this one fic idea that i came up with and wrote a kinda cringey summary for a few months ago. it's called a wolf in sheep's clothing, and most fics titled along those lines have a tendency to have cringe summaries lmao.

Feyre Archeron is dead.

☔️ || dude, i have sooo many fic ideas for acotar that i don't think i'll ever get around to writing. most fic ideas that i come up with don't center around romance at all, and are very plot heavy so they're very daunting to write lol.

one fic idea that i just recently came up with was an atla-inspired story where post-acotar, pre-going to the night court feyre travels around the seven courts of prythian and learns how to use her powers. the reasoning i gave for the high lords not killing her the moment they discovered it was the foundational reasoning for a long, three book saga where each book centers around each archeron sister. basically, there's a prophecy about three made sisters that foretells the biggest threat prythian will ever face, and the sisters are the only thing that can stop it. so teaching feyre how to use her powers becomes this like vital thing. and she travels across each court, learns about their culture and magic system, and it sets the grounds for the daglan to rise again and try to take over prythian.

the first book would've been called legend of the cursebreaker, next would've been myth of the godkiller and last one would've been elain's, which would have been tale of the fatespinner. it's pretty obvious which sister is which. i adore the idea of the fic, but everything about writing it sounds incredibly daunting lol.

I know this is a lot of people's first deep dive fandom but...lmao I'm not pointing out anything new, special, or stranger things specific ☠️ Shit like this has happened with love stories / downfalls in everything, from the way John Williams built thematic structure from The Imperial March into Across The Stars (Love Theme From Star Wars) to hint Anakin's eventual turn to the way Ramin Djawadi put bits of the the Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen themes through out GoT S7 soundtrack into the lead up to "Truth," so as to to hint not only at their romance, but Jon being a Targaryen too.

I just...you can stay mad that the music is telling you something you don't want to hear, but...don't act like I'm reading too much into something that's happened in every show and movie series you've ever seen. There isn't a single radical notion being presented; you're just too attached to your ship to accept the duffers aren't lmfao

from what I've seen, i wouldn't like her even at the end. and yeah, i understand that she's young (she's not five years old though, she's 22, that's not really an excuse) and inexperienced, and from another culture (being mean is a culture now? though yes, her "goddess" is a cult leader), but she could try harder and be nicer from the second we meet her. not just constantly bulldoze through you, your companions, and your shared opinion(s).

though i agree, the ending with Orpheus and the dragons is nice. maybe she'll get better after Vlaakith is finally destroyed.

thinkin abt enemies to lovers trope again n i think the main issue i have with it is that sometimes the violence isn’t requited. like in my mind theres this little sliding scale of “can’t bring myself to hurt you despite everything” to “kill bite maim violence” and both people involved should be at similar spots on the scale. havin a little bloodlust in enemies2lovers isn’t necessarily a bad thing to me but only if both parties are equally beating the shit out of each other, if not then its just a shitty abusive relatationsjip
