Do not allow yourselves to stoop to the level of antisemitism. This harms not only Jewish people, but Palestinians as well. The atrocities committed by the State of Israel are not attributable to all Jewish people. Likewise, violence committed by the religious extremists in Hamas does not reflect on every Palestinian Muslim.

Judaism is not the problem. The problem is the Israeli settler colonialist project, of which not every Jew supports. Zionist Jews are opposed by both secular and religious Jews in Israel and abroad for many reasons. The conflation between Zionism and Judaism only serves the interests of right-wing extremists on either side of the conflict. Do not allow far-right Zionists and antisemites to conflate Zionism with Judaism. Antisemitism is inexcusable.

Antisemitism reinforces Zionist rhetoric, inciting further hatred and violence against the Palestinian people. Oppose racism and bigotry of any kind. Reject antisemitism. Stand against apartheid. Reject Islamophobia. Stand with the oppressed people of Palestine. 🇵🇸

If your argument is accusing me of hating Jews, I can already tell you don't give a single fuck about what I or anyone has to say about Israeli crimes, and just want to parrot talking points without even knowing who you are speaking to or what their beliefs are.

You want to make it about Judaism, my claim is against Zionism. You know, that belief system that doesn't rely on being Jewish and is used to justify genocide by claiming to be Jewish as in some sick sense (per Germany at least) you are ALLOWED to commit it?

How is claiming to represent Jewish belief while doing everything under the sun to NOT hold Jewish tenants not antisemitic?

Antizionism is not antisemitism. Antisemitism is the hatred of or discriminated against Jews for being Jewish. Antizionism is the argument against a state that is pro-colonisation, pro-genocide and supremacy. The only reason people support it is because there is so much racism within society and discrimination against Arabs- that the West want Israel, predominantly white Jews that are from Europe, the USA or anywhere in that vicinity, to take over Palestine. Zionism is not an exclusively Jewish idea- it is supported by many Christians who do not agree with Islam and have values that are deeply rooted in racism. Zionists like to equate the conflict to religion but they ignore the fact that there are Palestinian Jews, Palestinian Christians, many people are Palestinians but they are suffering. Israel does not have a right to exist. Jews do not need a separate state and even if they did, this would not be a reason for genocide, violence and colonisation. To do this in the name of the Jews is antisemitic. Zionism is not Jewish. Jews do not agree with Genocide. Jews do not agree with Israel being a violent state. Israel is a state created by Colonisation, Genocide and White Supremacy.

This is fucked up, Ayoub Abuhejleh hasn't been able to harvest his own fields and is being harassed and threatened by soldiers. NPR, American journalists are even being threatened by soldiers in the West Bank. They're just straight up stealing land and threatening anyone who cares, far away from the warzone (as they have been doing for years, but it is escalating again). Is nice to hear about the work Rabbis for Human Rights are doing though at least. Really messed up situation, what an evil military.

One thing I've internalized over the last two plus weeks that white liberals, - and even white progressives (and honestly some non-whites that are of various political associations) - need to learn is that oppressors have no right to complain about the way the people they oppress and dehumanize fight back.

Does that make certain actions ok? No, but it makes them understandable.

People who are oppressed have the right to fight back against their oppressors, this is widely agreed upon. What is less widely accepted is that no one has any say in what that fighting takes form as, especially in dire situations like having your entire supply of resources and your movement restricted and controlled by the oppressing power.

Moreover, when you've been taught an entire country hates you, especially because their "Jewish" religion is supposedly telling them to do unspeakable things to you, that very much leads to people understandably thinking that all "israelis" and Jews are bad people.

You reap what you sow.

Thankfully, I've come across several people who have told me they are unlearning that Jews are bad, and refocus their hatred on zionists. They are learning the difference between us, and told me they are going to educate their friends.

There is hope that the world will be able to separate zionism from Judaism, which unfortunately is a necessary part of dismantling israel's claim that it is a Jewish state for the Jewish people.

Murder is forbidden in our religion. Stealing is forbidden in our religion. Having a nation state is forbidden in our religion. Everything israel is and stands for is forbidden in our religion.

None of us are free until all of us are free, and we all must fight for Palestine as part of making us all free.

Well. If you listen for just a moment, I'll go and make one case simpler.

Israel is an apartheid state.

If that offends you: people in South Africa whom lived under Apartheid (Desmond Tutu; Winnie Madikizela-Mandela; Farid Esack) have repeatedly compared the situations.

In 2011, Desmond Tutu (Nobel Peace Prize) of the African National Congress dubbed the Palestinian situation worse than Apartheid.

In 2023, the African National Congress released a statement:

"The ANC is against the AU granting apartheid Israel any observer status. Africa’s colonial history and apartheid Israel’s present oppressive nature towards Palestine demands that all pressures be applied for the sake of all Palestinian people, including women, children and families."

The Nakba is the term given to the ethnic cleanse of 1947: the forced relocation of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, destruction of settlements and cultural sites, massacres of thousands of people by militias, and dissolution of the Palestinian state.

The State of Israel later passed laws (guided by Zionism) that revoked Palestinian citizenship, "leased" Palestinian land to Israel, and placed the Arab-occupied area of West Jerusalem under martial law.

Please take note now:

Anti-Zionism is not antisemitism.

Antisemitism is the specific form of racism and xenophobia propagated against Jewish people.

Anti-Zionism is the opposition to Jewish ethnonationalism, under which the State of Israel was founded.

Almost half of all national condemnations passed by the UNHRC (United Nations Human Rights Council) involved Israel.

The UNHRC was founded in 2006.

The concept of Israel as an exclusive ethnostate—under which genocide is perpetrated—cannot be allowed to continue.

The State of Israel considers me Jewish under the Law of Return, although traditional halakha law does not.

I do not see this as a question of actions from an ethnicity.

What occurs in Israel is a case of genocide perpetrated and sanctioned by an ethnonationalist government.

This has happened many, many times before. It's still happening:

Artsakh.

Xinjiang.

Darfur.

Ukraine.

Myanmar.

We cannot be "neutral" when this happens every day.

I understand that the world is stressful. Everyone feels like they can't do anything.

And so nothing gets done.

And more blood is spilled.

And we forget.

But please remember: Even solidarity is resistance.

And would you rather be quiet or be right?
