DISCLAIMER: this is all for fun and should be taken very lightheartedly. Not all drivers were included, but I am open to suggestions as well as constructive criticism.

Without further ado:

CHARLES LECLERC - I Can Do It With A Broken Heart

Absolutely suicidal lyrics that should be mildly concerning but all in all very upbeat and makes you want to run around doing side quests. Such as write an album, or open an ice cream shop. I'm thinking this is specifically 2022 Charles when he trusted no one at Ferrari, or mid-2023 when everyone was calling him washed and calling for his teammate to be n1 driver, and then he proceeded to put it on pole in a tractor multiple times and still hasn't finished outside the top 5 since. Either way, I am looking forward how this song will hit when Charles gets his eventual championship.

MAX VERSTAPPEN - Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?

This one is for Mad Max, who was thrust onto the world stage as an untested young prodigy at seventeen, who was called too young and immature and proceeded to win a GP upon debut in a top team, who was called Crashtappen from 2015-2019 and labelled as overly aggressive to his detriment, who was painted as a villain by every media outlet and documentary and DTS episode, who said "fuck the haters" and won championships anyway, who broke records, and made his own national anthem the expected song for every podium. A driver who is fast approaching greatest of all time status, for his win streaks alone. A driver that most others now just shrug about, because there's no shame in not choosing to fight the inevitable.

LEWIS HAMILTON - So Long, London

Ah, the heart-wrenching track of letting go of your long-term British relationship that doesn't serve you anymore. So many lyrics from here I could apply to the rumoured break down of amicable relations between Lewis and Mercedes, the team he won six championships with. From "My spine split from carrying us up the hill" to "I didn't opt in to be your odd man out. I founded the club she's heard great things about" to "you say I abandoned the ship But I was going down with it. My white-knuckle dying grip. Holding tight to your quiet resentment". Honestly, I could copy and paste all the lyrics here and they would apply to Lewis' Merc swan song. Taylor wrote "you swore that you loved me but where were the clues, I died on the altar waiting for the proof." about Abu Dhabi 2021.

CARLOS SAINZ - The Prophecy

Carlos has been delivering some of the best drives of his career this season, but it doesn't matter because he's not the chosen one, he's not il predestinato, he's not the son of Maranello. No matter what he does, he would never have kept that Ferrari seat over the mythos of Charles Leclerc. "Let it once be me. Who do I have to speak to, to redo the prophecy?"

LANDO NORRIS - Guilty as Sin?

Specifically given for half-flirting with Red Bull for most of last season, only to shake himself out of it and re-sign with McLaren, but I have one eye on him, not entirely sure he's given up on the Red Bull daydream, and Red Bull have been open about wanting to get him, if they can. It's all on Lando to stay faithful.

OSCAR PIASTRI - Fresh Out the Slammer

Piastrigate continues to inspire and compel an entire generation of F1 fans, and as such should form the basis of Oscar's song selection. What was the promises that Alpine made him, if not "Gray and blue and fights and tunnels Handcuffed to the spell I was under For just one hour of sunshine"

FERNANDO ALONSO - Florida!!!

Florida!!! is a big and powerful song about being a Shakespearean villain with a History and questionable morals and motives. Who is that if not Fernando Alonso? "Tell me I'm despicable, say it's unforgivable." "Is that a bad thing to say in a song?"

LANCE STROLL - But Daddy I Love Him

Yeah this one is self-indulgent and too good to resist. He's singing it about Fernando btw. Next.

Someone is getting that Red Bull seat next year, and every name is on the list except Daniel Ricciardo. "As the decade played us for fools, you saw my bones out with somebody new." Who knows what would have happened if Daniel hadn't left Red Bull, all those years ago? "Just say you loved me the way you were" Oof. We could spend years living in the What Ifs of it all.

he is a BEAST. a CREATURE even.

aka he's from the void but no one except ash knows that

the deranged discord thoughts at 2 am said clown is from the void bc everywhere he goes he brings death. he kills. it’s what he does. he kills and he’s fuckin great at it. do you hear me. do you understand.

covered from head to toe in clothing to hide the fact he's from the void. there's a constant slight chill that surrounds him and it's only really noticeable when someone's almost touching him

he never lets anyone get that close anyway besides the occasional handshake or smth bc yeah anyone would be uncomfortable if someone was standing inches away from you. he plays off the cold hands with a poor blood circulation excuse if anyone asks

if he did show skin, his silhouette would be like a black hole where it's completely pitch black, and depending on the angle, he either appears 2d or 3d (very disorienting and unnerving)

this guy does not have a single stable relationship to fall back on. he allies with people for power and not for comradery, and it is So Hard for him to tear down the dozens of walls he keeps up around him because he often finds that when he does, he gets betrayed and left in the dust (mob anon from lifesteal headcannons i am thinking so hard about your submission)

plus it's hard for him to know whether or not this person is allying with him because he's The Deadliest Assassin Blah Blah Blah and they want that safety net/protection or if they genuinely want to ally with him

it takes him a long time to fully trust branzy, and even then he doesn't open up to him about his personal stuff

the mask stays On. Constantly. doesn't matter how much he trusts someone he will never willingly show his face

he and red have a friendly rivalry with the heart economy side of lifesteal, they're both competing for the title of strongest/holder of most hearts or smth like that

dude used to be a normal guy way way way way before lifesteal events n stuff but then he fell into the void and came back Wrong

basically instead of dying instantly, he survived for a little bit longer than usual, broke through reality, and saw that everything is just a simulation and everyone is just code, including himself

that fucked him up bad physically and mentally, and his left side is all glitched and void-like now (chronic pain coded)

dude is technically immortal but he never really tested losing all of his hearts yet

he knows that clown is from the void because he knows what the void feels like and is hypertuned to it, and to him, clown RADIATES it like a space heater. he can't stand too close to him and has to have at least one person's width between them. he hasn't confronted clown about it though because he knows when to keep his mouth shut

being close to the void for him hurts in an ocular migraine type way, but he typically pushes through it when he's down at bedrock level or in the end

he doesn't make stable relationships with people because he doesn't really see the point in them

in my head, lifesteal is this independent port city-state that was originally run by everyone and acted as a free, international trade center. zam is the crown prince of the neighboring territory surrounding the city, and when mob started gaining serious power, he charmed his way into working with them.

the deal he struck with mob is that if he wanted to join, lifesteal wouldn't be a part of zam's kingdom and all of his actions in mob were separate from his actions as the prince. it worked out relatively well for both of them: mob got a powerful ally with good political/funding power, and zam got to play hero and get involved with lifesteal politics

when mob fell, he initially respected their previous agreement where he wouldn't play prince in lifesteal, but when heart economics grew too unbalanced in his eyes, he decided to annex the city and then start the cleansing

nobody enjoyed zam annexing the territory, and especially not when his first order of business was to have everyone over ten hearts withdraw and bank them to evenly distribute to people with less than ten hearts

We’ll talk about Scott (1/18 traffic analysis)

I’m gonna start by saying if you’re a die hard Scott fan you probably won’t like this, I’m not the biggest fan of his. Please go look at my other posts or just ignore this.

I’m starting a new thing where I just don’t want to ruin something for someone but I am a little hater.

I’m also so incredibly biased and not in his favor.

Also just about characters!!

So with that out of the way……

Scott!!

Honestly I think people mischaracterize him a lot. Which who cares do whatever you want forever but for the sake of this you’re wrong <3

Let’s start with 3rd life!

I don’t like how he treats Jimmy. I’m so sorry flower husband fans I totally get the appeal!! It’s like yeah Jimmy is a goof and he’s bad at stuff but like Scott doesn’t think Jimmy can do anything right. He berates him and makes fun of him to other people. He’s nice to him only for the benefit of himself, so he won’t drag down their team.

He expects his death.

Isn’t that tragic? He makes a widow’s alliance like he can’t wait for him to die. Like it’s expected. Jimmy’s not cursed yet. It’s not likely he’s going to win or anything but you can’t believe in him at all? You have zero faith he can live past you?

It’s so demeaning. It comes across as him thinking he’s better than Jimmy and I think he does believe that.

Of course in the end Scott seems pretty heart broken but the reason he doesn’t go through with his new alliance is because Cleo died.

Then we have the home scene at the end which is sweet but doesn’t make Scott any less annoying to me.

Scott never gets overcome with bloodlust which is interesting because of how many kills he has. That’s all him, no revenge, very little red/boogy bloodlust, he kills because he can.

What is the bloodlust just not strong enough for you? Too good for that too?

Okay he teams up with Pearl in last life because he hopes she will give him a life. Just for teaming up with him? And she does of course.

At least Ren had something to offer undying loyalty and willingness to die for Lizzie.

Like that’s a deal worth taking.

Pearl at least is like you gotta prove your worth somehow?

Then again he’s trying to team up with Cleo like real shit I guess, I would too. it just feels shity to me. If I was teamed with Scott I’d question whether or not he really cared about me at all.

He just comes off as selfish in any situation he can. I should probably give him a little credit, he is in a death game.

It’s the way people portray him as this guy who’s very morally superior and doesn’t play dirty.

But he’s ALWAYS playing dirty.

He’s constantly manipulating everyone around him.

He’s such an asshole to me idk

He’s telling Scar that they’re friends and allies but he never does anything for Scar or spend any time with him. Ditching him when Cleo tries to stay aligned with him after they get a life from him.

He very easily lies to whoever he wants to and gets away with it. His actions never catch up to him. He’s never held accountable and he’s constantly being rewarded for lying and manipulating the people around him.

Anyway the start of my hated journey is double life because he’s the worst in this.

I don’t understand why Cleo and Scott are so butt hurt about not finding their soulmates, it was funny though so I’m not upset about that.

When Pearl comes and finds him, he expects her to grovel like Martyn does. They didn’t really do anything wrong though? They were both properly geared up and it’s not like they were the only people trying to get recourses?

It’s nonsensical after listening to their explanation to still be upset, but they don’t listen or hear them out they just want to be begged for forgiveness.

Pearl of course was not going to do that and she of course is not innocent and antagonized him after that.

He’s not forgiven by me for what he did to Pearl for letting her win. She should have killed him.

That is not Scott’s only sin, what kinda douche builds a ranch specifically so you can make one better than your friends? The ranch by the way was also created to break up other peoples relationships while gaslighting them about that very fact.

Cleo and Scott spend all of double life trying to manipulate the different soul bounds because they are unhappy in their own.

Scott’s defining characteristic is being petty.

Limited life we have all the sacrifices he does, overdone at this point.

He’s so cocky. I feel like people miss that. He antagonizes and tries to get people to want to kill him. Which is how Scott has killed Joel so many times.

Scott is annoying so Joel will want to kill him but he keeps getting him.

In limited life specifically it’s so jabansksjsjsj

Because Joel is just trying to stay in the game longer he’s getting desperate and a little deranged and Scott just keeps killing him. I don’t how many kills but it was over kill.

Ugh and how he acts around Jimmy, like respect his boundaries. MAYBE theirs a good reason he doesn’t want to be around you, FREAK.

Keep the stupid pufferfish to yourself he’s over you!!

All of his actions became unforgivable when he didn’t let western duo team up, genuinely wanted to strangle him.

MAYBE some people are here for a good time, a loyal time, a fun time! Not a long time, but YOU wouldn’t know anything about that.

I appreciate the growth this time the final self sacrifice kill did have drama, but it was mostly Gem sounding genuinely devastated about killing him. (Idk know why that’s devastating I’m still upset about Jimmy and Scar not teaming)

I honestly don’t remember anything about real life really don’t count any of that as canon besides Cleo being a winner and Joel getting motion sickness really easy.

My hatred might actually be mostly the Jimmy and Scar thing and the fandoms interpretation.

I feel like he’s either worse than you think or just as bad but in a different way???

Kalim in RSA (and I get off-topic)

Spoilers for Book 4 and 5 (im sorry jamil enjoyers. but im so biased towards kalim its not even funny)

(this spiraled into me talking all about kalim in the actual game so oops)

imagine how different the story would be if kalim was in RSA

and we just hear from jamil about these snippets about his 'master' (although itd be weird they'd be separated if jamil tended to him often to where he'd prob be like his personal servant? idk what situation would have jamil talk to us anyway but yknow maybe we get close, he's like the other friend who seems cool? he'll basically help us out with knowledge about things, fleshing out the world a bit more, as the only sophomore in the group cause he kind of feels responsible maybe? then BETRAYAL)

and then eventually partway through the school year KALIM IS THERE (we know why though) and he somehow ends up housewarden.

i have a dislike against RSA. its very petty and its kind of because they keep winning (and they dont even mean ill intent which is worse! …but its kind of like kalims kindness. and i like kalim but that might make me biased. SO. thus the existence of this.)

we probably wouldnt like him much right? (and i imagine he'd get his fair share of bullies. we find this out. he laughs it off like 'nah, im used to attempted assassinations and everything. this isnt nearly as bad.')

(id do the clapping between but ppl get annoyed, and i get annoyed) CUE KALIM BEING MORE THAN SMILES AND WE LEARN THAT ABOUT HIM !!

HES aware enough that he can cook food good using JUST magic (which takes precision to use it as good or even better than your hands right??. its in his labwear vignette. ruggies teaching him ofc so ruggie wants it to be good cause hes taking leftovers, BUT CMOONNN he can learn. ..and yeah it took a few years for jamil to teach kalim antidotes to common poisons so he could do it easy but kalims hardly a master at making potions so i call that good)

AND in book 5 he noticed vil had like the same look as jamil to where he knew something was going to go wrong (aka the poisoning)

maybe its to show how much kalim doesnt belong in NRC and thats why they dont pull the 'more than he looks at first glance' like cater with glimpses in vignettes and etc

but like COME ON.

the sultan might be dumb (i recently re-watched aladdin) but at least he knew enough that he didnt want jafar marrying his daughter cause hes OLD and also he doesnt want to force jasmine into anything (good intentions. im sure if they just waited and she didnt find a suitor in time he would've just CHANGED THE LAW like he did IN THE MOVIE because he wants her to be happy!)

ALSo he tried to look through the law jafar claimed to say that would make her have to be married to the vizier or whatever (aka jafar) but then jafar just pulled it away before he could (and then attempted to mind control him when he refused) mans was prepared to spend hours reading over it even if he didnt understand it but he wasnt given the chance

also kalim is worryingly nonchalant about stuff. i mean. you can get used to horrible things to where they just feel so normal and uninmportant i guess? but poor bby. hes been like 'i want to keep myself alive because if i die then someone else will get punished.' or like about poisoning, if someone has a change of mind and hes already dead, then he cant do something to help them, so he has to make sure he'll live.

..i really doubt that hes just. so oblivious. maybe in denial, but still.

anyway i got very off topic. my bad. and to be fair we do get to see more of him at some parts. but hhh

okay listen. denial. (i am also a believer that if when kalim confronted jamil, if he said he didnt do anything kalim wouldve believed him. bruh gave him excuses like '..i just got tired, right?')

we just. dont see him really crumble?? he just. keeps being optimistic

we convince him jamil is bad. he resolves to punch him for being a traitor and THATS IT?

he sobs at the end of jamils overblot but then he goes back to being optimistic like 'lets be equals!' (..it feels like he didnt really learn much though as he's still 'I didn't notice--' 'I--' and i wish he couldve gotten more awareness. cause he makes it about himself yknow and blaming himself but COME ON put some blame on jamil PLEASE? or like. ANYONE ELSE. you also cant notice shit if no one ever tells you about it that you dont even know to look for it! he doesnt want to be cautious about who he can trust so like, why would he think to doubt the person who hes known his entire life??? especially if its something that was just always there that it feels natural, how could he know better? hes sheltered! so someone shouldve explained it to him, made him realize things! aghhh)

heres the book 5 one btw

And I mean maybe he did learn in that he's more aware of this now than others because he knows what people could look like because of Jamil, but I feel like a lot of things were just so unsaid. That the first time blindsided him, but now he's kind of a little more worried about something happening while he's there that he didn't notice so now he's trying to notice things more??? Or like maybe having gut feelings that he'd ignored before because it was Jamil but now knowing better?

So he can be aware. but then the rest of the time he's just thought of as dumb or an idiot or forgetful and it just makes me sad. and i mean i get that he wants to see the best in people but we never really talk about how its more that its denial. a refusal to see it, and i want to understand why

or maybe its because he sees the good in people that he trusts they'll do the right thing. or he believes that the good outweigh the bad (although i dont know if it'd be the same case if it was someone he knew who got hurt)

like. okay back in book 5

"Besides, I would bet there isn't a single person in Scarabia who hasn't gotten help from Jamil at some point. Am I right?"

"See? There you go. He's been a model vice housewarden. In fact, he's put me to shame. He let dark thoughts get the better of him for a brief time. Other than that, he's a perfectly capable guy." (Book 5 • Chapter 10)

He justifies it with that Jamil isn't the only one to blame (he also blames himself), and that Jamil hadn't done anything wrong before then

which. AGAIn. means that in his eyes the good outweigh the bad. jamils better at his duties so jamil should stay as vice housewarden.

this was the first time jamil did anything bad so it'd be fine, it was just an error in judgment

nothing about the fact that his closest friend he views as a brother

who would be the last person he'd expect to do such a thing BETRAYS HIM, planning to make everyone (or well just the people in scarabia) turn against him

like. that has to be a shock right??? AND THEN HE JUST. welcomes him back into his life like it was nothing im just. kALIM. SWEETIE.

and i mean i get its for the best since if anyone knew what actually happened anything could happen to jamil (and jamil has his own reasons i get that but this is about kalim)

but he still hangs around him. has him as his aide. so while something did change, it also feels like nothing changed at the same time.

"I'm always chosen. Always. That's such an obvious truth that I never even consciously processed it. But now I see that was only possible because of Jamil's constant sacrifices. He created that "truth" in my mind by always holding back. By always letting me win. ...It stings. "Galling" doesn't even begin to describe it." (Book 5 • Chapter 30)

also like one of the very few times he expresses how he feels about something (how it hurts not to be chosen for the first time, and/or that he was only chosen because of someone else so he wants to work hard)

and then grim shuts him down with "You wanna talk about galling? Imagine how I feel not even makin' the cut for the audition to start with."

like. COME ON.

Kalim responds with, "Ah, you're right. My bad! I didn't mean to rub it in. Goodness, there I go again! I'm super sorry, honest."

and yeah it can seem kind of spoiled but also. its probably because of that that he doesnt want to share his troubles because he's very privileged so it feels like he might not deserve to act like its anything when everyone else has to work so much harder, right?

AND ITS JUST. REAFFIRMING TO HIM THAT his troubles are nothing compared to anyone elses and im just aghhauihduadhw

he also cares a lot about other people (people like him as housewarden because he listens to their troubles and supports them) so i just. want him to be able to take a moment to care about himself and just admit these things that he usually doesnt get the chance to.

After the game they all had gathered at her place, John buying pizza and drinks for everyone to celebrate that "my little sister is finally back and I won't have to see her ugly face all the damn time", which had made everyone laugh. Everyone but June, who simply rolled her eyes.

"You were amazing today."

"I played for 5 minutes. I didn't have time to do anything."

"They were 5 amazing minutes."

"I think you are a bit biased, Chilwell."

That wasn't the place nor the moment to do it, and what if he didn't love her back? Mason was convinced he did, but what if he was wrong? What if Ben wasn't ready for that yet? And was she even ready for it?

"Ok, then. Here is a fact: You could have scored more goals. You played for 75 minutes, Maxwell. You missed too many chances and should have ended the game with at least another goal."

"That's more like it" she smiled before moving forward and kissing him.

"You also ended the game too tired. Your fitness is really bad" he smirked.

"I just came back from a serious injury, Chilwell" she said against his lips.

"Not enough" he whispered before they started kissing again, only being interrupted when June yawned.

"See? Too tired" Ben laughed. "Let's get you home."

"But wait, before I forget. I got you something."

"To celebrate how bad I was today?"

"Exactly" he chuckled, opening the car's glove box.

"Ben!" June laughed.

"We must keep our traditions" he smiled.

"Do you keep a huge box of kinder eggs at your house or something?"

"Maybe. But it is very well hidden, so don't try to look for it."

"Ok" she laughed again. "Thank you very much, Ben. I love it."

"And I… fuck!" he jumped when someone honked behind them.

"That's Vittoria" June said, rolling her eyes.

"Perfect timing" Ben murmured. "Anyway, let's get you home" he said before starting  the car. 

Though maybe Vittoria's interruption hadn't been that bad, because he had almost told June that he loved her. And that may have not been the right moment to say it. Or the best place. And the least thing he wanted was for her to freak out. Again.

He was sure of his feelings for her, and according to Mason, she felt the same for him. But what if they weren't on the same page just yet? What if Mason was wrong and she didn't love him the way he did? What if…

I expect Putin did the math and is just shoving men at Ukraine. Same as Stalin. Ukraine has better weapons and tactics, though.

I don't know how to respond to you, anon, without depressing the hell out of you. Yes, he is just using people to fill in a hole on a giant sinking ship.

Thing is, he can afford it. 140 million people.

I won't go into the weapons and tactics - I have no idea besides the basics, only that they also are learning. And there is still what some European countries sold him since 2014, and what other dictatorships sell him now, like Iran's Shaheeds. Some countries still not-so-secretly playing on their team, sabotaging weapons supply to Ukraine, or helping Russia to circumvent sanctions. Some people continue to spread their propaganda, both far left and far right. West and East and Global South. Nobody is immune.

So Ukraine still needs the support of the world. Both in regards to weapons and ammunition, and with sanctions, and with battling Russian propaganda in any form it comes, and with refugees. And we are deeply thankful to countries and people who are doing the right thing.

This was in my drafts for a while. Like a year, for a while. I guess I wrote it and didn't want to post it. Too depressing for a foreign reader, I thought. And I am sorry. It probably is. Don't lose hope in Ukraine though. We can do it. We can win. If we have the means to do so.

Unfortunately, there is that thing that Ukraine isn't a hot conversational topic anymore, and the West doesn't give a shit. Even your regular people, outside of the pretty small pro-Ukrainian bubble, don't give a shit anymore - if they ever had. Like, I see so many reblogs on Gaza going around from any kind of blogs, a fandom-only blog too, and you go there, and you search Ukraine, and you come up with nothing or like, one Feb 2022 post.

And it's good that people support Palestine (if it's done without the usual antisemitism, spreading misinformation, and veiled calls to genocide - of Jews, this time (again)). But it kinda sucks that they never did the same with Ukraine, or did once and stopped. What sucks more is that posts badmouthing Ukraine and calling to deprioritize it still get a lot more hits than posts calling to support Ukraine. Now, though, it's coated in things like "western hypocrisy" (water's wet; how come you throw us under the bus for it? although it's not even particularly true in relation to Ukraine but, doesn't matter) or "they get aid as it is" (i wish). and that's not tankies even. It's like. the normies.

on youtube, I recommend Ukrainian Toronto Television (despite the name, 100% Ukrainian). especially a hard rec for Americans, Beau of the Fifth Column is a commentator who - now posting mostly about Gaza and US election - still has some good insights into Ukraine.

on twitter, I would give a follow to @cybersoroka, @maksymeristavi, who are Ukrainians but write a lot in English. among non-Ukrainians, @terrelljstarr as a reporter who lived in Ukraine prior to the invasion, and @TimothyDSnyder, he studied Ukraine - and russian imperialism - academically.

I'm adding non-Ukrainians so you will not be like - oh no, you're recommending biased Ukrainian sources only! so yeah.

If you hear about a pro-Ukrainian rally in your city, go, it will be much appreciated. We need weapons and we need more sanctions on Russia/stricter control over them. Be wary of anyone who asks for Ukraine to capitulate like Code Pink, Grayzone, etc. Those are not Ukrainian friends. (i mean, it's obvious who knows even a bit of Ukrainian context, but I'm adding this in case the post leaves the bubble; which - unlikely, things being what they are).

Every year I try and avoid any Eurovision spoilers until the event itself, but I have finally listened to all songs and I have OPINIONS

so keep in mind these are all rather fresh opinions, and some of these songs might grow on me or lose their appeal over time.

I want to like this a lot more than I do. It’s sweet that she’s singing with her family(I think??) and the instrumentals are nice, but it’s all just a bit much.

Switzerland - Watergun - Remo Forrer

Borderline disrespectful and incredibly eyeroll worthy, but regretfully it gets a bit catchy in the second half.

It’s not nice to be all “yeah I know you guys are getting invaded and all, but your entry for silly song contest sucks”, so fortunately I don’t have to do that because I genuinely like this. Kinda reminds me of something from an LCS cinematic. I wish the whole thing was in Ukrainian though

UK - I wrote a Song - Mae Muller - I am biased against UK entries, but this one is fun. Not winner material for me, but deserves to at least make the finals

Overall I think this is a pretty solid year, definitely better than the last couple ones. There’s some really fucking good entries, and a lot of the bad ones are bad in an entertaining way.

I guess it’s realistic if they have them not end up together on the show but I can’t deny how sad after this episode I’ll be. Especially after the scene at the end. I just (even though he’s done wrong by Sand a lot) feel like Ray doesn’t doesn’t deserve to just completely separate from Sand at the end. I just think I won’t like whatever writing decision they’ll make (even though I’m sure they’ll do it in a way that makes sense I’m not denying that) if it’s not even at least open ended. I do admit it could be my biases talking though.

Oh, yes, I also did a post here cause I need two platforms to scream about the very same thing lol. Well, I get a bit emotional after an episode for that sure. I mean, objectively speaking I still will be totally fine without any endgames or with every endgame (except for BostonNick I’m on my healthy friends with benefits agenda. Or this is technically endgame? Idk).

The thing with SandRay is that they objectively speaking can get happy or hopeful ending even without staying together.

For Sand it’s living his life and going towards his dream. He loves Ray but it’s possible for him to let this relationship and move on.

For Ray it’s a bit more complicated. Sand is very important for Ray’s healing process, and Ray found his motivation in Sand to get better - and this is beautiful thing. And I am kind of on my personal agenda that it’s good for him to have love and support through that journey, and Sand is willing to give him that.

But this episode already showed us that Ray doesn’t need Sand physically being in his life for Sand to be his motivation. Everything they had (have?) is enough. This is very important that Ray went not to apologize to Sand, trying to win him back, no, he went for therapy. I’m so proud of him. And I hope he will find motivation in himself at some point, but for now Sand is here for him (even when he’s not).

So, my logical side is fine with that. Bittersweet but realistic for the story about messed up young adults who are in the very beginning of their journeys.

But my emotional side do want them to be together. Because, come on, they love each other so fucking much it hurts. And I know a lot of people think Ray doesn’t actually love Sand, but I believe he does. I also believe he just doesn’t know how to do it right for now. But he’s trying. I mean, the end of this episode totally convinced me. And they just deserve their chance to be happy together, you know? They are happy together. Unhealthy, for sure, but who isn’t?

So yes, I need it for my personal mental health. And for them. Anyway, I will be fine with any outcome while it’s logical. But yeah, SandRay till the end, they convinced me this week (but only after Mond and First kiss cause I still want that). I’m absolutely biased and I’m fine with that xD

1) Silver v Cater

no in-team drama -> oh man @monegasquess you're gonna get me yapping. i feel like we've entered f1 at such a sanitised / different age to what it was before but there always was, is, and will be ✨drama ✨... what form it takes i don't know!

but it is certainly interesting compared to even 5 years ago how the public narratives have changed and how much teams (or maybe specifically ferrari and mclaren as examples) actively rely on happy-brotherly driver narratives to market the sport to new audiences (people like us) now. even with red bull i get the sense that the only reason we're not seeing inter-driver drama is because checo knows exactly where he stands and what is role in the team is, which is definitely interesting to watch. we are experiencing max in the kind of... moon waxing phase because he already has 3 WDCs but we're also seeing indications of how volatile he can get when there's a hint of challenge to getting him that WDC, like silverstone, austria, hungary. it seems like a very different type of drama to the danil/pierre/alex albon eras where they were younger drivers feeling like they had a lot to prove to each other as much as the team... but i digress.

where we're at in the season now makes for extremely compelling racing, especially given the almost clean sweep max made last year / what a friend of mine called "max's leisure sunday morning drive" to p1 every time lol. and this is not to downplay that he is a once in a generation driver who wrangles magic out of the car - due to a variety of reasons it hasn't been easy for him this year and that's what makes for great viewing too: added stakes.

TANGENT ASIDE, my personal hopes for the race... from a mclaren pov....

obviously i'd like an oscar podium in spa (tho a win would be stellar). he's driving well and idk anything about the track conditions or whether they favour the car but consensus seems to be that the orange car is a rocketship whichever way you slice it, so. but also. maybe something people don't talk about as much is how much driver synergy is actually required - amongst the other engineering prowess obviously and huge credit to andrea and team here - to get the car developed to this point. lando and oscar are clearly very evenly matched in skill at the moment. to me, in an oversimplified way, lando has better tyre management, and oscar is better on attack. and also i am thinking about how andrea says it seems lando and oscar discuss the car amongst themselves before they deliver feedback so they are on the same page. so it'll be exciting to see them battle wheel to wheel more... and certainly not without drama.

there also was a really funny and accurate post about how mclaren's DNA has been kind of... repositioned publicly to be all chummy chummy but that's probably going to change if the two drivers ever end up fighting in earnest for a WDC. idk. there are a lot of unknowns. there are a lot of possibilities. there's a reason why fic is the fun sandbox to explore those because we also just never know what might happen with the reg changes by '26 which could toss mclaren all the way back to middle of the pack, it's incredibly hard to say.

one thing for sure though. is that until oscar gets his wdc (which in my biased but also strident opinion he will in his career)... i am unfortunately buckled tf up to watch lmao.

and the sport will change again with the arrival of new talent, new marketing, new audience acquisition, the direction that Liberty Media i.e. the owners want to take it (more street tracks...eugh brother eugh)... so who knows, genuinely.

Random's Lore Drops - Toriel, the "Tu-Toriel" (Get it?)

Alrighty fellas, you read the title, you already know who it is. It's the one, the only...

GOAT MAMA HERSELF! Now, I realize that a lot of people like her, but, uh... I'm not gonna be biased. She's not that great of a person. She isn't even remotely close to one, on par with Asgore (not Flowey, he's a murderer that's killed the Underground thousands of times over). Toriel Dreemurr is, as you can probably tell by the name "Goat Mom" and the sprite, a Goat Monster. But not just any Monster, a Boss Monster. Her SOUL persists after death. She is also the ex-queen of the Underground, and definitely not the greatest wife to Asgore Dreemurr (not like he's got the balls to talk back anyways). She acts as the tutorial (hence the joke in the title) throughout your main stay in the Ruins, as well as the final Ruins boss fight. You know that, IF you played Undertale. But people only talk about her as she treats you in the Ruins, but not how she treated anybody anywhere else. Toriel is, (since she's the ex-queen), ex-wife of Asgore, as well as the mother of the deceased prince of Monsters, Asriel Dreemurr, and the deceased first fallen human, Chara Dreemurr. I'll explain how they died in a different post, but for now, when Asgore and Toriel both saw their child's dust (just Asriel, since Chara was already "dead" by then, and humans don't turn to dust when dead), Asgore reacted with blind rage, while Toriel, who SHOULD'VE been there for him to snap him out of it, immediately left him the moment he got angry at mankind because guess-fucking-what? HUMANS killed Asriel. TORIEL kept her beliefs that humans were never at fault, and completely fucking dipped when Asgore was about to declare war against any human that fell down. She fled to the Ruins, where she ended up staying permanently. Oh yeah, did you know that the MONSTERS in the Ruins, the native inhabitants, are AFRAID of her? Yeah, she's that menacing. That, and, despite much damage she deals, and how easily she dies in Genocide, she has 80 ATK and DEF, the same as Asgore. Knowing how she was ex-queen, back then, she HAD to participate in the war. Not only that, but note how she manages to EASILY "knock down" Asgore in the Pacifist cutscene before the whole final boss shit. (Unfortunately, everybody only pays attention to the fact that she purposely misses when you're low HP.) OH, and don't forget that SHE mentioned, in the Pacifist route, that "oh but you could've taken one SOUL, passed the barrier, gotten the other 6 peacefully, and set Monsters free", IGNORING the GLARING FUCKING FACT THAT, BACK THEN, IN 201X, ASRIEL WAS FUCKING MURDERED BY HUMAN CIVILIANS. IT'S 21XX, AND SHE THINKS THAT ASGORE COULD'VE "peacefully" RESOLVED IT!? FUN FACT BY THE FUCKING WAY, ASRIEL HAD A FUCKING HUMAN SOUL AND STILL DIED WITH EASE! Sure, sure, you could say "he didn't fight back" and that's true, but remember, they probably weren't using guns... IMAGINE MODERN DAY. 😤 So, let me get this straight. Honey and Jake are not actually divorced yet. They’re separated. He claims to love her and yet, during their separation, he’s had one night stands?

Yeah…no.

And then, on top of all of that, when he asked why their marriage is over, he still doesn’t understand that it was because he’s a bad husband?

Did he actually understand the words and let it sink in that it wasn’t an external factor that ended his marriage? Did he process those words and thought long and hard about it? Moreover, if he claimed to love her so much, why was he fooling around with other people?

As I would say, “you have two hands.”

I am aware that I am biased against Jake right now and I am owning it. At this point, he’s not winning Husband of the Year and I want to dick punch him right now.

This chapter is making me experience a depth of rage and sadness. Like, what the heck. Mostly it’s rage because that’s easily accessible and identifiable.

I am kind of upset at Honey for sleeping with Jake but I can understand why she did it.

From what I see, they’ve been separated for a year and a girl has needs. There’s only so much your hands and toys can do and, apparently, some people want the human connection. (I’ve never been in a relationship so I wouldn’t know about all of that.) On top of all of that, she’s diagnosed with an aggressive stage of cancer and she doesn’t know if she will survive. Before she leaves for the hospital, she wants that connection before everything changes even more. Because, depending on the procedure, in her mind (at least to me), Jake isn’t going to want to be with her when her body has changed and there’s no telling if the surgery is successful.

The flashback made me 🤦🏻‍♀️, to be honest. Even when they got together, it didn’t show Jake as doing anything to back up his claims that he wants to be with her. From what I’m reading, I think it’s a matter of pride that she dumped him before he could dump her.

This is a heart wrenching chapter. I’m still just thinking, “Jake, you ignorant slut.” He’s really not paying attention to what she said, huh? Again, I can see why Honey didn’t tell him about her diagnosis. Also, funny that you should mention that statistic with the gender disparity. That’s what I was thinking when I started reading the fic!

In any case, the dynamic between Jake and Honey in this chapter is making me think of Taylor Swift’s “exile” because Jake is so clueless as to why their marriage is broke and Honey is just ready to move on. The real question he should ask is “what has he done to remind her that they should be together?”

THAT’S the real question.

I’m not sure what’s going to happen but I definitely want Honey to get better and move on. Anyway, thank you for the chapter!

I saw a theory that Sam killed Felix and I am at my breaking point over this frickin vision-

Edit: I do want to say, this battle scene is the best scene imo in the entire series and I love it, my problem is just what lies below lol

Before going into this, I wanna say that I understand this vision was not real in the books. The thing that bothers me is that so many people believe the vision’s results  would be real if a fight broke out between the Volturi and the Cullen coven and co. 

My first problem I will knock off this list is just a theory, as stated above, but to believe that Sam, a barely seasoned werewolf, could take out and destroy a millenia old vampire whose special skill is combat/fighting, is ridiculous. Now, of course I may be biased. But even before I was a Felix stan, I did not believe this was possible in any capacity. Most of the wolves are young and untrained and there is no way that they would have been able to take Felix down. 

My second source of irritation I want to make is Santiago and Demetri also being taken out so easily. In the movies they are not as tall/foreboding as Felix, but in the books they’re also quite large and have thousands of years of experience of executing and committing mass murder. 

I cannot say it is unfair to assume Jane and Alec would have died as their powers lie solely in psychic/mind attacks and they very likely have no fighting experience. They are also children. The only way I see them surviving is staying within range of Renata, whose power is to confuse any incoming attackers and she’s bound to Aro by Chelsea, so tightly that she’d die before seeing him die. 

There is no canon or not if Bella’s power would cancel out Renata’s, but since Bella is so special and a little OP, I could see it happening. In which case, yes, the twins would be rendered useless and would die without knowing how to physically fight. 

Caius’ death may be satisfactory as well, but he goes on so many execution and punishing trips that I find it hard to believe he could also be taken down easily. He has no special power, except his unusually deep love for cruelty.

Marcus? Well, yeah. I can see it happening just how it did in the movies, to be quite honest. He may be bound to Aro by Chelsea, but I think his suffering would outweigh that during a fight. 

Aro I feel like would have his own self-preservation kick in and attempt to end the fight before he or any of his special guards would die, or at least take too many losses.

Speaking of which, the amount of Volturi that are present vs the amount of Cullen and co. is quite large. I cannot believe, still, that the Volturi would bring so many inexperienced fighters and lose so badly. 

Although, in the end of the vision as Aro’s body sets on fire, you can see a huge amount of Volturi guards descending upon Bella, so perhaps the Cullen coven and co. would get defeated. They just somehow would bring down all the big guns with them. 

ANYWAYS, sorry for the long-ish post. I just do not see unseasoned fighters winning in any capacity like in the vision. The wolves are too inexperienced and most of the Volturi guard are far too old and experienced to have eaten absolute shit like that.

Many people in an attempt to paint Malenia as less skilled than Radahn and thus a sore loser, fixate so much on the bloom. They ignore the fact that he was already incapacitated after being impaled by her but BEFORE the bloom. He couldn't even muster up the energy to glare at her. He couldn't do anything as she slowly pushed her sword deeper and took about 10+ seconds to bloom. He also couldn't react in-time to her jump-stab whereas she never slowed down when her arm was being cut off.

Re-reading this made me realize that I'm just rambling. It's very badly written and borderline incoherent. So my arguments might be bad. Also I want to point out that I am very biased. No I do not care. If you disagree that's fine, write your own post. BUT if you're the Lore Person and you know some of the answers to the questions I have, or you have your own additions, by all means, please add them. So anyway.

I was gonna point that out in my post about why Malenia totally owned Radahn but whatever I'll write it here.

Basically in Radahn Vs Malenia debate whoever wins depends on your opinion of what qualifies as a "victory". Since they were fighting a war, some would look at it from a militaristic standpoint, in which case you gotta define why they even fought, and that's not even clear. Was it for the great runes and the status of godhood? Well, Malenia probably didn't care about the runes, because she did spare Godrick. Was it just a war of conquest? Well, I'm from Ukraine and I know a thing or two about wars of conquest. There wasn't any occupational force anywhere else in the lands between, so it probably wasn't for the territory. In fact, it seems like Malenia deliberately went for Radahn. Maybe she just fucking hates Radahn's guts for some reason. Maybe their minds were just tainted by the great runes. I do not know what was the military objective. But in a war, like in any other war, there is no victor. In that I would agree that it's a loss on both sides. I can make a case though, that whatever was the military objective of the battle of Aeonia, it was something that was worth sacrificing yourself to an outer god for. Malenia's last attack reads to me as extremely calculated. Run in, sack your arm which would suprise your opponent because he probably didn't fight many people who would keep fighting after losing an arm, leap forward, incapacitate him in one hit and also damage yourself enough to trigger the scarlet bloom. Perhaps driving him mad and stop him from achieving something was the goal. That is up to interpretation.

But in their own personal duel, like, outside of everything else, just straight up a battle to the death... Malenia just won. Like, it's just hard to argue with this. Radahn was one of the mightiest demi-gods. And what state do we find him in? Fucking Ohio. Pathetic. This dude is so fucked he might as well belong to Dark Souls 3. Don't get me wrong, he is still really fearsome, don't hold a festival of war for someone who is weak. But when he is just Not Doing Well. If we came a few months later I think he would go so mad he would've eaten his horse. He's in a really sad state, he just doesn't read like a winner to me.

Malenia though? Well let's put aside the fact that she absolutely wrecks shit for a moment. When we meet her she's just chilling, you know? If Miquella wasn't kidnapped, I would imagine he would find something to cure her from the rot. She had all the chances of just brushing it off. And honestly if our Tarnished wouldn't invade the Haligtree, she might've figured something out. I don't really understand why she didn't go out looking for Miquella, but I would believe she would do that eventually. But maybe it was because of the loss or eyesight. Like yeah maybe fighting is just second nature to her, but navigating an area wouldn't be easy. Or maybe she waited for him to return because he had some sort of plan that was interrupted by Mohg?

In any case, Malenia not only crushed whatever Radahn was trying to do, she also had better recovery from the battle.

Also let's talk about that final hit. In PvP, taking damage on purpose to deal damage to your opponent is called trading. A good trade is used to either win over initiative by dealing more damage than your opponent and staggering them. It's difficult to argue that in technical terms Malenia won that trade. Radahn ended up a fun side-quest for some NPCs and Malenia is literally The Hardest Boss From Software ever made.
