A couple weeks ago, Apollo had helped Clay’s dad clean out Clay’s apartment, and his dad just sent him a box of Clay memorabilia. Apollo had been working up the courage to open it all day, and he was finally ready.

Up late at night thinking about klapollo/claypolier sky symbolism. Like obviously Apollo is the sun. Duh. Named after the sun god. The end. So that makes Klavier the moon, right? The opposite- the opposing counsel, the other side, the rival. He’s Apollo’s opposite. Defense attorney and prosecutor. So we have the classic “the sun and the moon love each other” thing. But NOW ADD CLAY. Now we have the sun, the moon, and the stars. Not the opposite of either the moon or the sun, but something else entirely. Works with them both. Comes out with the moon at night but still there in the morning, even if not visible.

THEY ARE LITERALLY THE SKY. THEY ARE THE SKY IF THE SKY WAS DATING. I AM BANGING ON THE DOORS ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME???? CLAYPOLIER SYMBOLISM AND METAPHORS EVERYONE WAKE UP

Domestic Klapollo is probably one of my favourite things to think about, especially after Kristoph’s arrest and execution. Klavier becomes pretty much immobile from depression for a few days. He’s usually pretty good at keeping a happy face on when everything goes wrong but this time it’s different. This time it’s his own brother, and all this has occurred only a few months after Daryan was also arrested and his band subsequently broke up. He can’t bring himself to do anything, so just lays around in bed as the dishes pile up and the apartment gets messier as each day goes on.

Then Apollo comes in. I imagine Apollo quickly learned how to clean up after himself, being both an orphan and (in my headcanon) living with Clay, who doesn’t really have the time to do so before heading off to training. He knows that Klavier is struggling so insists on staying over to help out. He washes the dishes, makes meals that aren’t instant noodles or takeaway, he walks Vongole (who Klavier probably struggled to bond with initially since she’s literally Kristoph’s dog), he cleans everything and once he’s done with all of that he provides Klavier with the comfort he requires. It’s wholesome, and sweet, and Klavier makes sure to remind Apollo every day of how thankful he is.

Then Clay dies, and Apollo finds himself in a situation where he no longer has an extra person in his life to care for. The sudden change in routine doesn’t help with the grieving process at all. Eating alone feels quiet, cooking for himself isn’t the same and he weirdly misses having to pick up Clay’s clothes off the floor every morning.

So, in return, Klavier steps in. He knows he can’t cook very well and he knows he’s used to having everything done for him, but he tries to help Apollo out, even if it means just helping him to complete basic tasks, since Apollo likes to keep himself busy to avoid thinking too much about recent events. I reckon Apollo would be hesitant to accept Klavier’s help at first, he just wanted to get over things at his own pace, but the first time he prepared a meal for two people, with someone else chatting to him the entire time, he cried. He didn’t realise how much he missed the company.

Is this is a fic idea? Yeah, maybe. I ended up not having enough time and motivation to participate in Klapollo week (and with exams going on I certainly won’t be able to get 7 pieces of writing out) so maybe this will be my contribution

“Y/N?” Apollo asked, opening their door. The hinges creaked, but they didn’t move. “Come on, you can’t stay here forever. You should see if Mr. Wright has a case you can take. Get your mind off-”

“Like your one to talk,” they hissed, not moving from underneath their blanket. “Leave of absence,” they scoffed,” what do you plan on doing?”

“I’m going to find his killer.” They sat up at that and scowled.

“Wouldn’t that be easier as the defense on the case? We both know starbuck didn’t do it, he adored Clay.”

“Then why don’t you?” Apollo asked. They had no response to that, and simply curled back up beside Apollo. He began to stroke their hair, and humming.

“Why do we always end up alone?” They asked, and Apollo could hear a hitch in their voice. “First our parents, then- and now Clay… Why can’t people just stay for once?”

“Move over,” Apollo sighed, and lay down beside them, laying Clay’s jacket over them as a blanket. He went back to stroking their hair. “I don’t know, I wish I could give you an answer but… I don’t have one. We promised him we’d take care of eachother, didn’t we?” They nodded. “Then I promise, that even if the whole world abandons you, I’ll stay by your side.”

“Heh, that’s cheesy,” They giggle slightly. “But the same goes for me, I’ll always be by your side, no matter what.”

“Good,” he kissed their forehead, “now get up! We'll just have to catch Clay’s killer together.”

Headcanons:

Athena: started with taekwondo for a few years, but mainly does mma/kickboxing now. (Hence how she could throw that cop! The technique of the throw shown in the animated cutscene is not really a Thing in a either of those disciplines but it's my city, so.) She totally enjoys sparring, and takes on bigger and burlier opponents all the time to test her abilities. I thought it would be a good fit because she seems like a more aggressive fighter who's in it for the thrill of the fight.

Apollo: Got into martial arts as a hobby when Clay started consistently going to a local dojo after school (Pollo just wanted to spend time with his friend!) Mostly did BJJ and judo, then did some extracurricular wrestling late highschool through college. I chose BJJ for Apollo bc a) oftentimes bjj matches can become slower paced and analysis heavy (re: Perceive), b) focus on restraining an opponent over fighting them, c) many moves are built towards effectively dealing with bigger opponents (look at this short king), and d) one of the fundamental movements is called 'shrimp'. Which. Heh.

apollo’s sobbing is like a child screaming for their mother. he’s held so much in for so long that when he does open up he just breaks. and he breaks hard. his chords of steel come into effect as he is practically screaming out in pain into your chest. he’s breathing heavily, the tears are pouring down his cheeks and he is just broken.

when she cries, maya cries hard. she’s always tried to maintain a strong exterior for pearly and nick as to not make them feel stressed. but she’s suffering so much inside. she starts off crying lightly but when she starts talking more and more the tears fall quicker and harder. her throat dries up and she’s soon unable to speak. she just wails.

clay terran is another one who tries to always be strong and positive with life. he’s cried in front of apollo once, and that’s the only time he’s ever broken his happy disposition. but if you get him talking about life and everything in general? he breaks. everything comes flooding out. his words are mixed with tears and it’s hard to understand him because everything is slurring together.

So I answered it a little bit in the last ask but essentially- Klavier starts courting Apollo after everything in AA5 is settled...and Clay gets jealous smelling Klavier’s scent on Apollo every time Apollo comes to visit him in the hospital.

Apollo is conflicted because now that he’s an Omega, he feels equally pulled towards Klavier and Clay.

Klavier doesn’t mind Clay, in fact he’s finding himself attracted to the other Alpha as well. Klavier doesn’t have a preference towards any designation - he really likes Apollo...and Apollo’s strong sexy Alpha friend.

Pack dynamics are tricky to begin with, but it’s not uncommon for a bonded pair to have a single alpha, beta, or omega in their pack. Or other couples and their family within the pack. Polyamory can be tricky with two Alphas paired to one Omega- due to an Alpha’s natural instinct to protect and be dominate. But if all parties are willing to work at it and balance it all out, it can work. A/O/O , ABO, OOO, AAAs, etc have worked for others so there’s no reason to not try.

It does take Clay awhile to come around- he’s sorting through his own messy feelings with Apollo- is it familial between us or romantic? But I also can’t stand the thought of Apollo being with someone else...and Klavier’s not bad on the eyes, either. Clay’s never been with another Alpha before, so the sex is different- good but very different compared to sleeping with an Omega. But Klavier is pretty submissive to Clay (against all reasons considering Klavier’s a pedigree and Clay’s a heavyweight) and Clay can’t ignore that it’s pretty hot to top Klavier in bed...and seeing Apollo and Klavier together makes Clay go less red and more hot under the collar.

So it takes some time from it being Klapollo with Clay third wheeling/being an occasional addition in their bed, to Apollo and Klavier courting Clay, to the three of them bonding as equal partners. But it’s the best damn decision any of them have ever made and they’re happier for it.

The sun was warm on Y/N’s back, as she curled in closer to Clay. He had an arm slung around her waist, and his face was buried in her hair. With a small huff, she pried herself out of his grip and slid out of bed. She half haphazardly combed her fingers through her hair, which was still damp from her shower. Y/N yawned, as she left the bedroom, pulling on one of Clay’s space center shirts. He’d stayed the night since Apollo was working overtime on a case, and that meant she had the apartment to herself. Apollo and Y/N had shared an apartment just the two of them since Clay moved into an apartment closer to the space center. Before, the three of them had shared an apartment, with the boys sharing a room. 

She made her way to the kitchen, yawning. Turning on the kitchen light, she flinched, before making her way to the fridge to look for food.

“Y/N,” Clay whined, making her jump as he wrapped his arms around her waist, leaning over her, and nuzzled her neck. “You left me.” 

She laughed, “I was trying to make food, aren’t you hungry?” She stood up and turned around.

He opened his eyes to look at her, “Yes, but we can eat whenever. I miss you, and Pol-”

“Apollo would like you two to not screw in the kitchen,” they both jumped and turned to see the man in question standing in the doorway.

“Hey Pollo!” Clay laughed. “Don’t worry, I would’ve taken her back to her room,” he laughed as Y/N’s face turned red and she buried her face in his neck.

“Ew, TMI. Y/N do we need to have a talk about this?”

“N-No, I’m good. Wanna join us for breakfast?” Y/N asked, looking up at Apollo.

“Sure,” he yawned, “Then I’m gonna crash,” he mumbled. “Hands to yourself please!” He called as he left, Clay groaned.

“We’re having a date at my place next weekend,” Clay huffed.
