taking a dive and going to far (dcxdp prompt ^^)
i was at my childhood aquarium today and, with the flow of nostalgia hitting me like a brick, a new idea fell on me.
so here yall have it!
+ - + - + - + - + - + -
Danny had been wandering. he'd wandered all throughout his haunt in the realms lately.
mostly because a new part had been added after a aquatic fight he had where he learned the sea was like space. vast, cold, and, if you look close enough, filled with story's.
slightly because he'd been stressed with being crowned king lately.
… anyways. he learned of the fact of the add on like a week after it had popped into place thanks to a ray shaped blob ghost slowly making its way there, when normally ghosts don't impede on others haunts.
since then he loves going there when he just needs some time to think.

(all photos where taken today and its all me in the photos.)
+ - + - + - + - + - + -
a new building had popped up in Gotham. now normally that'd be normal. but this building literally popped up over night. and giveing the fact its a huge building that seams to be a aquarium? thats not normal at all.
something like that normally takes 3-5 years to build. so, like the paranoid bats they where, a search team was sent almost right after they found it.
since it was to close to crime alley for Jason's likening, he was adamant on being part of said search crew. what that found inside was what seemed to be a other whys normal aquarium just without any signs of human life being there.
after a little bit of searching and having split up a little Jason went through a small hallway that lead into what seemed to be a large room with a HUGE tank siting in the middle of it.
then there was him.
standing there was what just seemed to be a normal person slowly started the shift. something wasn't right here.

the person turned to look at the new person and jason saw it. there eyes where GREEN.
+ - + - + - + - + - + -
annndd im done!
was this an excuse the share my photos from today? yes. yes it it.
then again yall know what liminal spaces are right? like the backrooms, aquariums like this one (nordsø oceanarium) that display the aquariums via darkening the room so all the light comes from the aquarium's, FEEL very liminal. specially if theres little to no people there.
i feel like this can ether go and turn into a mystery drama with the bats trying to figure out what the HELL this human looking thing is and what its doing there
OR
here me out here, dead on main meet cute? meet feral? like just fight on sight then find out they like each other-

Anywhere in the world that one can find shallow, sheltered waters that don't freeze over, they will likely find colorful schools of little Millifish. It is not uncommon for these to teem with tens of thousands of individuals, and yet no two of them are the same. Every single Millifish possesses unique coloration, partially inherited, but effectively limitless in potential variety. In waters that they share with their many predators, mottled, camouflaging tones favor survival, and so these individuals are most common. However, rainbow-barred and piebald and solid black and every other description are mixed among them, finding safety in close proximity to their countless schoolmates.
When not among the cover of aquatic vegetation or river rocks, Millifish stick close to each other for shelter, creating very cohesive schools that can resemble a seamless, round, multicolored mass. They tend to spread out more while feeding, pecking at tiny invertebrates and algae, but will quickly consolidate into a blob again when trouble is spotted. When food is abundant or the water warms, males and females alike compete for partners in the school. After pairing up, ideally with a large and persistent mate, the female adheres her sticky eggs to a sheltered surface, and the male fertilizes them. He remains to guard them until they hatch in a few days, after which the fry only have each other for safety, taking several months to reach maturity.
Millifish germ bodies are vaguely fish-shaped themselves, silvery and reflective, and tend to aggregate into masses as they cruise around in search of hosts.

while catcatfish are known to make bad pets, how well do they take to captivity in enviroments like zoos? what do you think a good zoo enviroment would look like for them? (i don't know a lot about zoology/zookeeping, but im curious)
great question!!!
catcatfish are fairly straightforward animals to house in zoos thanks to their indiscriminate eating habits and very low social needs. they will eat just about anything you put in front of them, so most zoos will feed a mix of fragrant prepared feed, deboned meat chunks, and, for large specimens, the occasional whole plucked poultry, sometimes on a rope or other implement to let the catcatfish "hunt" it and pounce on it for enrichment while keeping the caretaker safe from the venomous barbs. live feeder fish are also utilized in addition to whole dead fish.
prepared feed is typically shaped into blobs of large, soft "dough" that sink very slowly in water, which is the easiest form for a catcatfish to find, gulp, and swallow whole. exact feed composition varies by species; an armored or "pleco" catcatfish will have a more omnivorous diet than a blue catcatfish. some sort of fragrance is usually added, as the catcatfish navigates more by taste and smell than by sight. crucially, it is up to the caretakers to carefully portion and time the catcatfish's feeding, as it will continue eating well beyond the point of satiation and can easily sustain injuries or illness from overfeeding.
catcatfish require a large enclosure to accommodate their size; a typical blue catcatfish can grow up to two meters long and will need ample room to swim and roam. an ideal enclosure should be far wider than it is deep; while underwater, catcatfish are demersal (they stay near the bottom of the water), and while on land, they are terrestrial, not arboreal (they do not climb trees). they are nocturnal and respond best to low-lit or otherwise shady enclosures; catcatfish enclosures are popular choices for indoor aquariums for this reason. in a shaded or indoor enclosure, a UV lamp setup similar to those in reptile exhibits should be placed over a soft, semi-enclosed space on dry land for the catcatfish to sleep in. the catcatfish requires a gentle slope between the terrestrial and aquatic parts of its enclosure; it has trouble hauling itself up over steep banks. it should also have plenty of spaces to crawl through and hide in both on land and underwater.
in the wild, catcatfish live largely solitary lifestyles, with the exception of mated pairs caring for unweaned offspring and some cooperative and playful instincts among siblings. thus, many zoos house catcatfish both solitary and with other individuals; similar to cats, they can get along fine with other members of their species, but may exhibit territorial behavior if not introduced properly or given enough space in their enclosure, so in most exhibits with multiple catcatfish, they are actually littermates.
alas, there is much discussion over whether the popularity of catcatfish as zoo animals is contributing to the demand for wild specimens as exotic pets (there is no such thing as a "domesticated" catcatfish, contrary to what some exotics owners may say about their own catcatfish). many zoos have educational displays and demonstrations teaching the differences between keeping pet cats and fish versus housing a catcatfish, but every year, there are still hundreds of cases of catcatfish stings across the country as a result of misinformed people mistaking it for something tamer.

Headcannon Demon Anatomy
**SPOILERS**
(Source - my head)
I think demons are just blobs of sentient black energy that can take on any shape or form. Like the black substance from Venom, but more powerful.
Each blob of a demon is muted for different purposes. Aquatic, flight, fight, speed, etc. Defining a demon’s attributes and identity. After all, they have been around since the dawn of time. And with their dark energy, I’m sure powers and magical capabilities could evolve too. Such as growing stronger through other’s emotions and/or sins…?
On the surface, one can see a demon’s teeth, skin, eyes, but more powerful ones are able to better their crafts and morph into bigger and stronger forms. Or even multiple forms.
However, on the inside, there is no internal organs like humans. At least ones like human organs. Put them through a MRI just result in emptiness, but in fact the blob can take on the role of organs if needed.
As an example, there is a scene where Beelzebub was able to devour an entire flipping pillar in the Demon Lord’s castle (I think it was from a Christmas pop quiz).
How TF he ate and digest the pillar with such speed? Answer: he has no stomach. The dark energy blob in him just mutated with an insane appetite, and melted the pillar away as Beel devours it.
Mentioning Beel, the “Say My Name” Card contains a scenario where a dark-mist form of Belphegor threw a tantrum of how Beel was getting close to MC and forgot about him, literally ate both of them, and only allowed them two out if they could guess his name.
Beelzebub thought they could easily punch a hole in its stomach, but no matter how far he ran or search, it seems like there is no physical space. As if a void?
Like ur one to talk Beel. Others described your stomach as a blackhole…
I think the black blob also explains why the fur on Belphegor’s tail is a different color from his hair (unless this bish dyed his hair…).
I keep calling it a blob, but it’s more like energy. Every time the brothers get mad, a black form of energy emits around them. I think this energy is powered by souls demons devour.
Think in the game, it mentions that the taste of souls is like the most delicious thing a demon could taste? Even looks shiny depending on who it’s from. Hence why part of MC’s task as the exchange student is to learn how to protect their soul from harm by strengthening it.
So what? Is this all speculation and trying to fit clues and puzzles in places where they seem to fit but not quite?
Alright then, explain the existence of little D and this:
I rest my case 🙌
———————————————————————
Author’s note: Alright, let me take a step back. I’m afraid if I go any further, I’ll be entering FNAF territory and I’m not willing to go that deep to theorize about shadow brothers lol.
I need to lay off of them horror analogs….
As for always, don’t take it seriously. It’s all in the name of fun 👉👈

Reblog with what your room would be like as a Dark World, I'll go first
-Savanna themed, like a big wildlife preserve
-Vines on the walls with fireflies buzzing around them (vine decor)
-Tons of tall brown grass you'd have to wade through (carpet floor)
-Two prisonlike towers, one smaller and one larger (plushie storage wall & bucket)
-Giant animal Darkners EVERYWHERE (my ridiculously huge collection of animal plushies)
-A giant block of water where the aquatic plushie Darkners hang out (my bed w/ blue comforter)
-Castle made of wood that has three floors plus a basement, also has an art gallery and a library tower in it (my desk + chair + bookshelf + paintings and dragon tapestry next to them)
-Chapter bosses would be two giant dragons that guard the fountain, were putting the animal Darkners in the prison towers in a plan to become the "favorites" via process of elimination (two rubber dragon figurines that I mostly just display and rarely play with)
-Secret boss tasks you with gathering different artifacts (claw rings, a bird skull/helmet thingy, and a black shawl), gather all three and they'll form together into a giant creepy bird wraith that you'll have to fight for the Shadow crystal and a Quartz Dagger (my Halloween costume + quartz crystal shaped into a dagger)
(should I tag people for this idk
eh whatever; @artofeden @carterslayer @sansational-blob
moots, come hither)

Seawing Headcanons
(Info below the cut)
With seawings, I think they're going to be one of my favorite tribes for patterning. This one specifically is based on a koi fish. I did forget to do one thing that I have in my personal headcanons. Experimenting with new way of doing the eye when simplifying it on the bust. Also, accidentally merged a couple layers when the patterning was on a separate clipping mask.
Tribe Headcanons
Seawings have additional feelers to find food such as clams. The deeper one hatches, the more they have.
All the feelers have glowing patches that are similar to an angler fish.
The edge of the chest ruff is fade tinted the color of the gills.
Their gills pop out when courting another dragon. These colors very depending on the area the egg has been laid at and took to hatch. Meaning there is a wide variety of colors they can be.
The bulbs along the chest and spine also glow.
Seawings have big feet to aid in swimming.
Their wings are counter shaded, so the bottom color is the lightest while the top color is the darkest on their bodies.
The glowing patterns on their wings batches their glow scales normally, being rare when they match more with the gill colors
Seawings are the second smallest tribe normally.
This can change depending on the depths the eggs have been laid at. In tide pools or similar shallow areas, they will tend to almost be the size of runts or pygmies. If they're laid in deeper depths than most, like near under water volcano depths, they tend to get very big.
These Seawings tend to have their own health issues when hatched and aren't recommended.
Tide pool Seawings tend to have harder than diamond scales, making it hard to move a lot. They are considered what we humans call "Pug-like". It is easier for them to gain a version of Münchmeyer disease due to the hardness of their outer scales. Though they have been getting better in more recent histories.
Tide pools are typically derogatorily called "Sunfish" or "Blob fish" due too their health issues, though thankfully it has ceased a bit in recent decades. It's not a lot better though
Deep depth Seawings tend to be almost the exact opposite issue. Their bones and scales are softer than diamonds and they cannot surface as they are a purely aquatic species.
Deep depths tend to be a bit more fire resistant due to being closer to the underwater volcanoes.
Patterning of different sea creatures isn't unheard of, just not as common.
Their glow scales and can camouflage slightly like an octopus to keep themselves from being found. Normally the color will match the surrounding scales and patterns.
Seawings take great pride in their flashy scales, staying near water to make sure they look like a piece of sunken treasure.
Lore Headcanons
Seawings are experts at writing stories. They do not often tend to write histories, sometimes exaggerating them slightly to make them a bit more suited for a story to write.
They have had several heated arguments with the rainwings that they're better artists. It was consecutively agreed that seawings were better writers while rainwings are better artists. Seawings don't go into tangents with flowery, emotional, descriptions that pause the entire plot to get into.
Seawings still have issues with the ethics of having their eggs in tide pools and deep depths due to the issues it may cause to those variants of those hatched from those circumstances. Both variants were once used for past wars, and even one civil war.
Other exports include pearls, sea treasures, and fish.
Their best alliance is with the mudwings as they have quite a bit in common when it comes to what they can do. It's believed that they are distant relatives when it comes to evolution.
Their funerary rites include placing two large pearls in their snout underneath the tongue, wrapping the snout in linens that matched their gill and glow scale colors. Once this is done, they are buried halfway into the sand so their bodies can become ecosystems for the creatures that share the same ocean.
Their afterlife is similar to to the river styx, though it is a forest-like place where their guide will ask for the pearls as payment so they can swim in the oceans of the afterlife. The linens are used as a make-shift pouch.
Seawings see an apology as a way to explain why they did the action. Their apologies are giving reasons for their actions. Just saying something like "I'm sorry" or "I apologize" without reason is considered disrespectful and the quickest way for them to take it as a sign for the other dragon to fight for repentance. This makes them the tribe that is quickest to anger.
Drawing Inspirations
Their bodies are similar to a Persian cat.
Marine animals are a great source of coloration and patterns.
Pugs are a great reference for the way a tide pool seawing looks like.
Whales and sharks bodies are best for references for the deep depths seawings, though their feelers are better to be referenced from octopi.

I’m krobing out rn
🫴Here’s my krobus redesign I finally finished after sketching it out an eternity ago, I love this little aroace weirdo(Happy pride month guys)
I hc Krobus really looks like this and he just shapehifts into a blob because it makes it easier to hide from ppl
I also HC that he looks similar but still different from a shadow brute because he’s an aquatic varient that lives in the wetter areas in caves (You don’t see any others that look like him in the caves because most of his kind got hunted to extinction because of the elemental wars)
(I don’t take commissions and if you ask I will assume your one of the bots I keep getting and block you)

Miscellaneous animals of my dnd setting.
Yakybara show up a lot in my old sketches from before the campaign started, but they were never actually named (unless they had a name in a conlang I made up and forgot haha). A lot of my worldbuilding projects start with drawings or creature designs.
Purpure Squirrels are basically just Indian giant squirrels with a different pattern. I saw a picture of them once and the concept of purple squirrel immediately cemented itself as A Thing™ in my world.
Eekees are shapechangers that can shift between the form of a silver-furred monkey with horns and a that of a similar-looking eagle. They live in small groups of 4-12 individuals, and they are typically found in forests and near steep cliffs where they nest and hunt. They are warm-blooded, omnivorous egglayers.
Narashi cats are medium-sized wild cats similar to caracals, but with patterns and elements borrowed from like every cat ever. They get their name from their habitat, the Narashi desert. They are also called sock paw cats.
Winter singers are birds native to the Land of Winter in the Feywild, and they serve an archfey called Lady Wintersong as her spies and messengers to her warlocks. The females are nearly indistinguishable from blackbirds, while the males have a more distinct look with long, oddly-shaped, green tail feathers.
Giant spitter lizards, misleadingly also called rainbow dragons (they are not dragons in the fantasy sense of the word), are large marine reptiles that can spew blobs of acid. Their main hunting strategies include trapping their aquatic prey on land and holding their land-dwelling prey underwater. They rarely spew acid when hunting, but will do so to secure a large kill or when they feel threatened.

We keep swimming in our tour of uninspired taurs of @ranchwamen's sirpaverse, and we swim right into the cold waters of the northern ice ocean!
For such a cold place, its bursting with life if you know where to look!
Steller's Sea cow taur
Being the biggest sirenian on the planet, these massive blobs of friendships fed on the kelp forests of the cold ocean. Being this big also had its drawbacks, one being that these guys were positively buoyant! So they couldn't dive down, meaning they were always at the water's surface.
Which was what made them such easy prey for humans. Not being able to dive down to escape made them such easy prey and them being massive animals made them even more enticing!
Taurs of this inspiration are also positively buoyant, letting them float on the water so effortlessly. This comes in handy for a quick nap but otherwise is pretty bad for the taur themselves. Thanks to magic though, this isn't a major problem for the taurs.
These taurs can be found primarily in the bering strait but they've also come to live in coastal settlements of the countries nearby where they are greatly appreciated for their help with the non aquatic taurs.

I had a dream last night that they made a legacy sequel to Coneheads called Children of the Cone about old man Dan Aykroyd taking his human-cone hybrid grandchildren on a roadtrip across America, and they were all horribly mutated blobs of pulsating meat and veins because cone DNA isn't compatible with ours, but they had holographic disguises that allowed them to look human when they need to (hijinks ensue when the disguise generators act up). The only scene I remember was them driving through the Nevada desert when a nuclear bomb test went off, and they were excited to stand in the blast wave like it was the splash zone at an aquatic amusement park.
Hollywood, hire me, I'm ready when you are.

hey can you tell me about glow? or what your currently hyper fixating on? Why that specificly? what’s your favorite part of it?
I'll do the first one, since my current hyperfixation is just pressure atm.
Ok, so I've decided to do some changes to Glow's experimentation history, and how they would work in game because the original didn't make a whole lot of since.
Glow, instead of being made to just play god and replicate human life, was instead a test to see if they could make something that could mimic human life. So Glow's dna consists of glittle (the electric sea slug critters), mimic octopus (only sea creature, discluding its close relative, to mimic other aquatic creatures), random mold that was growing nearby (accidental, it just kinda happened and nobody did anything about it), and human (obvious reasons). At first, Glow was just a big blob of slime that required electricity. But, as time went on and people interacted with Glow, they slowly started warping their form to match that of the people who studied them (mainly 1 researcher I still need to name, so Imma call them The Doctor for the moment). Since the mimicry worked, Urbanshade tried to see if they could use it to their advantage. Tests included seeing if they could mimic people from images, replicate voices (they also had to teach Glow English for that one), and durability. Even though the whole point was to make something to mimic, Glow was terrible at it, so they gave up on that and tried to see where they could be useful. This ends up looping back to the whole mid-battle power source idea. When the actual breach happened, Glow mostly just fled and hid, only "disarming" people (usually breaking bones) if threatened. They did go out of their way to find The Doctor, but the recordings of that time went missing and still haven't been recovered.
Game mechanic wise, Glow gets a extra little gimmick. Since having Glow as an enemy and npc doesn't make sense, this is where that mold comes in. That little extra bit of dna gave Glow the ability to split off parts of themself, being able to control them from some-what long distances. This allows for the drop-on-you-and-steal-item-charge to work while still being able to find Glow as a rare encounter in High-Containment (they just vibin). But that's most of what I got for the silly little guy rn, thank you for asking :3.
