Arthur Pendragon and Merlin were literally from two different worlds. One is a prince from a great kingdom and the other a common farm boy from the next kingdom over. These two should have never met.
But that was before they realized their parents were once friends and arranged the two of them to marry when they reached adulthood. That was before Uther turned on magic and Hunith went on the run with her infant son.
Now almost twenty years have passed and these two boys have grown into men. Camelot knights have found Hunith and come to collect her son.
Will Merlin survive this new world he has been thrusted into? A peasant among royals, a sorcerer among those that would have him killed if they found out. Can Merlin even begin to hope for happiness when the prince he is forced to marry wants nothing to do with him?
Follows canon but with my own arranged marriage spin to it
Reader’s Comments: it’s amazing. it has possessive/jealous arthur (who is having his “i am straight” phase) and innocent/cheeky merlin. it’s super great (just a warning tho arthur WILL be at the top of you hit list) it is a work in progress but Clearwater updates it EVERY SATURDAY and i don’t think they’ve ever missed an update. anyway check it out it’s great thanks fir being awesome
Guys right hear me out on this one. Imagine Arthur seeing Merlin at a feast cause he’s meant to be serving drinks or whatever but Merlin is talking to some random nobleman and yeah sure Gwen is talking to Arthur but he’s blocking out what she’s saying right now because someone is talking to merlin and making him laugh.
So he goes over there and in his attempt to subtly tell Merlin he needs his armour cleaned or something, Merlin turns around and they crash bang wallop right into each other, leaving merlin to fall backward into the NOBLEMAN who catches him and Arthur is literally not gonna stand for it at this point.
So he gets up and drags merlin up and away through the castle just for Merlin to stop, push him up against a wall and ask him what’s wrong with him. And Arthur doesn’t have anything to say or more accurately, doesn’t know how to say it, so he just drags merlin into a kiss. Then you guys know what happens next…
Arthur would later find out the nobleman was actually some evil shapeshifter or something trying to seduce Merlin and he feels much better about himself.
Andrew Blackthorn is a very... perplexing character to me because we know next to nothing about him but all his kids seemed to like him as a dad... and yet some of the only things we do know about him are that he a) gave Helen & Mark childhood trauma via Keats instead of having a normal conversation and b) he used to restrain Ty in order to "train him" to the point it made him throw up. like idk if there's a particular intention behind his character being good or bad (in general) but I definitely hate him lmao
King Arthur and his knights have heard rumours of Emrys, a god the Druids worshipped. Emrys was said to be kind, merciful, generous, and powerful. Arthur refused to follow any gods of the old religion, but he secretly admitted to himself that if he did, he would choose the god that protected the people out of genuine love and compassion, not those other gods that needed all sorts of sacrifices and tithes to buy their favour.
But while out on a patrol or something, he meets a group of druids worshipping in some sort of magical and sacred clearing in the forest, when Morgana and her own entourage ambushes them from behind. Knowing they’re outnumbered and outmatched, and that even the druids, children and all, would fall to Morgana’s cruelty, Arthur prays to Emrys, begging to be saved, promising anything, everything.
And Merlin saves them.
The druids tell Arthur that Merlin is Emrys, but Arthur doesn’t understand. He blames himself, thinking that by his prayer, his offer, he accidentally sold Merlin for their safety. He thinks Emrys has taken Merlin to be his vessel, possessing him.
