I was telling my friend this story last night but it's a pretty funny one so I'm repeating it here:

In general prior to T I could tell if I was passing or not from whether I got carded. If I got carded, I was passing. If I didn't get carded, I was not passing. I know that you have already talked about the "female gaze" more than once, but what do you say about this?

Let's get the easier parts out of the way:

1 - The showrunners consider Aang the angel on Katara's shoulder on The Southern Raiders because Avatar is a kids show and the moral of the episode was "Hey, kids, even if you ever meet a truly horrible person don't immediately respond with violence, it could backfire horribly or push you to do something you'd regret later" not because they think she's an object that Aang gets to posses and control - hence them having Aang give her advice on what to do, but not try to prevent her from leaving nor judging her for not forgiving her mother's killer.

2 - Katara's point was NOT central to Zuko in that episode, at least not at first. By the end of the episode he understood and felt compassion for her and her family, but at the start he was only looking for a cheat-code to make Katara stop hating him because it reminded him of his screw ups. It was Zuko being entitled and trying to avoid consequences.

3 - "This thing is like the PLATONIC version of a thing that sometimes happens in romance" If it's platonic (you said it, not me) then it's not a "win" for your OTP. Zuko and Iroh's falling out after Ba Sing Se has lots of dramatic, super intense and heartbreaking moments, just like romances do - but their storyline is obviously not a romance and they are explicitly treated by the narrative as father and son.

4 - "Katara isn't hiding any side of her personality from Zuko" Katara doesn't hide any side of her personality for ANYONE - family, friends, rivals, enemies, strangers. Highlighing that she is herself with Zuko is pointless because she is herself with everyone, including people she does not like, which was the category Zuko fit into at the moment.

Now, onto yet another absurdly long take by this annoyed feminist that has had enough to the "Male Gaze VS Female Gaze" bullshit.

(Check this previous post before reading the rant in case you don't know these terms or what they mean/were supposed to mean)

Zutarians gotta learn that just because a trope is popular, that doesn't mean it is present in every story, and that NO TROPE appeals to a whole group of people, no matter how much they keep insisting that their ship is the "female gaze" - like that thing could ever even exist.

To give a practical exemple so people understand what I mean: Imagine that a woman wrote screenplay about a lesbian romance, which is then filmed by a female director, and edited by a woman. The actresses playing the lead roles also have their own perspective on the story and characters. The movie is then shown to 200 women, every single one of them has their own opinion on it.

Which of the women I mentioned above is going to speak FOR HER ENTIRE GENDER, and decide if that romance fits "the female gaze"? Do we take a survey and whatever points are repeated the most are taken as objectively correct due to being how the majority feels, and thus any differing opinion is treated as lesser and "not what women like" regardless of how many women feel that way? Do we only listen to the proffessional criticts in that audience of women and completely disregard the opinion of any woman that didn't study anything regarding cinema and writting?

Even if somehow it is decided that the movie fits into the "female gaze" - if all those women rewatch the movie years later and some of them feel differently about it, would that affect the definition? If their grand-daughters watch it 50 years later and don't agree with their grandmother's takes on it, does the definition change? If the movie is shown to other groups of women, from different countries, and they all have their own opinion on it that is radically different from that of the first group, which group of women gets to say "OUR culture's way of interpreting this story is the TRUE way women feel about it, everyone else doesn't count"?

If the movie is then shown to 200 men and they all like it, does that turn it from "female gaze" to "unisex gaze"? Does it become "Male Gaze" if the guys get aroused by it, even if the movie was designed to appeal to women and not to them AND there was no exploitation involved? If the 200 women then watch a movie that has scenes that are considered as having been made to appeal to guys, but some or all of them ALSO enjoy it (story of my life), does that make it change from "male gaze" to "Female Gaze"?

Gender is simply ONE out of many, many, many things that can impact how one views fiction - and it doesn't exist in isolation, being affected by generation, culture, language, religion, class, etc. The "Female Gaze" doesn't exist. It CAN'T exist because humans are more complicated than that. It is a concept that is almost fully divorced from reality.

Also I can't help but notice that, because of the way these terms work in the assumption of absolutes, no room for nuance, "MALE Gaze" is meant to describe lazy writting/film-making that is sexist towards women and cases of full on exploitation and abuse in which men were the abusers, and sometimes the label even gets attached to harmless things as a form of bad faith criticism just because guys like it - but "FEMALE Gaze" is NOT about lazy writting/film-making that is sexist towards men (say stories that full on say that a guy hitting a woman is bad, but a woman hitting a man is funny, or using "guys always want it" as justification for scenes of female characters forcing themselves on the male characters).

Instead, Female Gaze is meant to either neutral or POSITIVE. "This appeals to women" is used for praise, "this appeals to men" is used as criticism. Women are harmless, men are dangerous. Women are helpless victims, men are evil abusers. Women need to be protected and put on pedestal, men need to be hated and feared. Female desire is inherently pure, male desire is inherently objectifying. And, of course, any woman that disagrees is bad and a traitor and needs to be "called out for being anti-feminist" (aka be condescended to or full on attacked).

This is sexism, pure and simple. Anyone can be a victim, anyone can be an abuser. Anyone can like any kind of story, trope, genre, ship, etc. Desire is a morally neutral thing, and it doesn't become "pure" or "inherently corrupt" depending on the gender of the person who feels it.

The "Male Gaze VS Female Gaze" thing is nonsensical at best and perpetuates a dangerous double standard at worse, and I'm so fucking tired of it never being questioned because people are afraid of being labelled misogynistic.

what are the special interests/defining hobbies of your characters?

on a three-person car ride, which characters, when grouped together, would be: having the most fun, be the most likely to kill each other, be the most likely to come out of it as changed people?

i love you for this 🥺 i don’t have a lot of wips out and what i do have is still in its pretty early stages so i won’t have a lot of characters to choose from, but ill do my best! contenders will be from The Noble Prince, The Curse of the Human Condition, or my unnamed lesbian murder wip

i put it all under the cut bc it got a bit long :)

1. Kieran from The Noble Prince, or Cestian from The Curse of the Human Condition! Kieran harbors a lot guilt for his mother’s death — she perished in a house fire. he was also inside and tried to get her out, but he couldn’t save her, and ended being dragged out by his own father but not without suffering some severe burns.

Cestian holds a lot of guilt because…. well, his guilt is complicated, but long story short: he did nothing while the woman he loved was beaten and exiled, and then when he later found her on the brink of death, he saved her, but she had lost her memory. so now she sees him as her savior, but doesn’t remember any of the pain he caused her.

2. the most recent fuck up….. oh… probably King Oliver from The Noble Prince. his fuck ip was blindly trusting Lord David, who recommended Kieran to guard Tzipora. because Kieran is about to uproot the King’s plans for Tzipora.

3. oh oof which of them are most like me? that’s hard to say. all my characters are like me, small parts of me taken and worked into new characters. maybe Kieran. he’s not very outspoken, but he has a lot of opinions, and he’s very curious.

4. Emmett! idk if it counts as a quirk, but he has a vicious southern accent and it’s fun to write! if that doesn’t count, then Tzipora’s tendency to repeat things :)

5. if i could write more for Evie and Scarlett, i just KNOW they’d be adored, especially Scarlett. they’re fun little murderers that worship a goddess of murder, and scarlett is a very bubbly, very sweet, but very violent love bug :) i love her so much

6. Best fashion tastes have to be both Alesya and Cestian from the Curse of the Human Condition. Alesya was a princess in line to be Queen, and Cestian is a King, so they both had to make sure they looked good at all times. worst fashion tastes goes to Silas, from the same story, or Kieran from The Noble Prince. he dresses for comfort and to hide his scars, not to look good.

7. Kieran is the only one that i’ve given a defined hobby/interest, and that’s reading! he reads any and every genre, but his favorite thing to read is old journals. he loves to learn about the world through other peoples’ eyes, to read about their lives

8. most fun would be Evie, Scarlett, and Tzipora. Three women that love bloodshed and don’t care who they hurt. they’ve all seen a lot and would have a lot of crazy stories to tell.

most likely to kill each other would be Alesya, Cestian, and Silas, all from the Curse of the Human Condition. Alesya is in love with Silas and hates Cestian, but she’s being forced into an arranged marriage with Cestian, and Cestian and Silas hate each other because they’re both in love with Alesya 😅 it’d be a mess

and to come out changed…. hmmmm… Evangeline, Tzipora, and Alesya. A murderous creature, a magical God, and a mere human woman that appreciates life. i think they’d end up falling into deep conversations about humanity and show each other different perspectives. they’d all be a little different once its all said and done.

partly because they have incredible female characters, yeah (root (poi) and the biologist (southern reach) are two of my favourite characters of all time and poi in particular also has shaw, carter, the machine, control, kara... so many good women) but also because they are both just legitimately incredible in so many other ways, too. especially the southern reach series.

Vaggie. (Hazbin Hotel)

1 - I will be using the wiki's canon sexuality for her and making her gender relatively vague. Why? Hrm, because I think some people in how they regard things is understandable, but how they express themselves and think it is absolute law is a pretty dumbass take whether criticizing it or not, esp when most people don't erase her liking women. I am fine with any forms of sexuality or even gender change so long as it reflects canon to some degree. Such as how I roleplay a majority of my women as trans fem, but they're still women. I will be keeping this character primarily into women, but certain feminine men she also could like or certain types of men, but is really picky when it comes to them. This character has never been confirmed to be a lesbian and the wiki reflects that, but overall is presumed to be one by the fandom, which is flawed thinking honestly.

2 - If you are weirdly aggressive toward Vaggie over Charlie's relationship with her? Mostly as I can kinda tell those types? I am not your vent toward what you see as a threat to the 'Alistar and Charlie' ship. You will be blocked if you're annoying about this or just randomly unfunny. As I am fine with people just being a dick to her or if I know you? You could even slap her ass or something, expect to get backhanded though, honestly, but it is very obvious when people are self-inserting their disdain for Vaggie.

3 - That being said? I do not force the Chaggie canon ship and I more or less either have them as ride or die best friends, or simply lovers. Any Charlie's interested in my Vaggie need to ask before I ship, as I'm pretty relaxed but it's never to assume I ship out the gate even if it comes to canon.

4 - My Vaggie is detached from canon in terms of origin, what she is, her power-set, but I will be keeping the 'hispanic' part of her even if she is a 'Fallen Angel' now. I will mostly use her canon personality as it develops as she's largely not too characterized, though go my own way still? As I don't see why Angels can't reflect the good aspects of humanity, what we are, compared to how Hell often reflects the bad, but also what we are too since Millie seems to be southern along with her family? Regardless, I won't delve into any culture and simply use phrases on occasion rather than try to use a language I know nothing about. In terms of power-scaling? I'd say she's just under an Overlord but probably could kamikaze one and die in the process, or even a Goetia considering Striker was implied to be able to kill Stolas. Granted, not all Goetia of course, but eh, I'll play it by ear as this mostly is just to give reference to what she's capable of as Vaggie wouldn't do this unless pushed to the brink vs someone specifically.

5 - My Vaggie's true name is canonically Vagatha which is possibly taken from Agatha (Doesn't go by Agatha) which means 'Good Woman' in Greek, but is also fine going by 'Evangeline' which I thought was the fitting name for her before her fall since it means 'Good Angel' in old english. Granted, you need to be closer to use Evangeline, Eva or any variant of that compared to the former.

Vaggie's Fallen Angelic Form FC, though by default she's in her canon looks as we know her. (Corrupted Angelic Form, her berserk fallen angelic form is way too weird/complicated to get commissioned easily) This is merely an edit to flatten the chest but leave some slight moth fluff beneath the shirt, then four arms, etc, wings.

They're different from the average 'Hybrid Being' though. Will I have/get icons: I have a lot. Tag: dissenting fall (default verse) - aimless fallen (Multiverse/Outside of the Hazbin Hotel Verse) As I am willing to use this character in fantasy, or other crossover settings outside of Hell other than Sci-Fi, but I’d be fine with her going into space/Rick and Morty, Final Space, or otherwise etc as I don’t really care about the canon unless interacting with someone from that fandom. Age: A few centuries. Sex: AMAB by human standards. Gender: Trans Fem by human standards. Fine with he/she pronouns. Race: Angel: Subrace - Justicar Caste (Former) - Fallen Angel: Subrace - Demonic Moth Hybridized with her Former Species (Current) Sexuality: Queer, Sapphic Leaning (Canon) Personality Traits: Slow to warm up to people. Pragmatic. Cautious, though not afraid to die entirely. Realist. Supportive. Loyal. Loving (Depending). Sassy. Kind of bitchy. Complains a lot. Fairly prudish, but could be into someone depending. Has a very dry quip or reply type of humor. A bit of dark humor, though not overly fucked up and usually fitting when the situation rarely calls for it. Gets human things to the point of understanding lingo, phrasing, but not exactly how they think at all times. Has a distrust toward masculine figures, though isn't completely overbearing about it. Passing comments, a slight dislike. Distrusting of others in general. Kind-hearted deep down and does provide mercy, though not stupid about it. Fairly high intelligence. Capable of changing her opinions. Judgmental somewhat but mostly to those she could consider a sleezeball. Curses a bit. Brutal. Rage-filled, somewhat easy to rile up depending on who it is. Argues, but not entirely quick to violence unless provoked rather heavily. It'd have to be something past petty insults. Will take you down with her like a rabid honey badger if it comes to it, though rarely is the first to attack first even if she points her weapon at someone. Tactical. Leadership in Combat at least, though socially while capable, not a well-adjusted one. Mental Traits: Angelic, Demonic mind with the Justicar Caste, specifically that of the Exterminator Angel subset of the Justicars. Is able to retain a calm sense of thought even if lost in her rage. Physical Traits: 5'5, mostly confined to canon proportions with a slight neck adjustment so it’s a bit thicker, then maybe slightly thicker body wise? But she’s relatively small-framed as a person, I just make it more realistic though keep a sense of it’s not human by any means. Somewhat flat but not exactly? Nearly though. Her wings were moth wings prior and used them to dart and move at extreme speeds. Her physique is deceptively strong despite her thinner frame, but not greater than a Hellhound’s. Powers: Her powers more or less resemble or are a hybridized combination of her prior species. • Rage-Fueled: While part of her previous caste? Vaggie's powers are fueled by her anger or hatred. In general, this is how her powers worked prior, though now with a demonic flare instead of righteous retribution. Some of her innate powers guide this such as pain, hate, or a strong need to carry something out. • Exterminator Physique: She does not tire in combat, she has extreme durability to getting shot, hit and functionality even if her body is brutalized or torn to pieces until she's completely destroyed. Her strength is supernatural, though not impressive by supernatural standards as at most she could rip off a car door, a standard sized steel door or something. • Rage Regeneration: While not extreme amounts such as instant regeneration of limbs, it is visible while fighting. • Exterminator Rage: Vaggie can 'die', but enters a rage state when killed to which lasts a few hours, pushes her body beyond its limits until she breaks or is physically destroyed. She is completely aware while in this state, but more or less has to fight until she dies and can't control herself other than what she's attacking. Healing her out of death is capable of ending this rage to which she'll then collapse and spasm for a few minutes before fine. Mostly because her body thinks she's dead before resetting as it does confuse her innate genetics as her specific Angelic Type. • Instinctive Jolting Reflexes and Speed: Capable of dodging bullets, blows, or parrying. Think of like the Flash from DC. She can do this with or without her wings out. Combined with her weaponry? She more or less uses a style to attack vital points to her target to quickly move onto the next. This is intentionally based off of canon Exterminators. • Summonable Holy Weaponry: has throwing knives and a spear to which she can resummon on the fly. It's partially why she only fights when she has to usually. Vaggie summons these weapons by pulling from the X in her other eye, though there’s no visual gore or anything like that, it’s just a flash of reddish light • Revival: Like most other Demonic or Angelic Entities? Vaggie revives, however, due to her nature? She often revives at a neutral location when and if she dies. That being Earth as it's a neutral anchor, I have it this way as Vaggie's 'Fall' wasn't really her intention and instead was saved through a series of events. Albeit she didn't exactly ask or intend to, but stayed with Charlie at the conclusion of them and their journey together of how they met. Due to her Exterminator genetics though? Other than core memories such as Charlie, people she knows, she does lose a chunk of her own memories when she dies. • Plane-Shifting: Vaggie can no longer enter Heaven with her fall, but is capable of going to Earth on her own. • Fallen Form: This has no real effect on her powers, but her true form is that of an Angelic Moth Horror that's more discernibly demonic and in line with being say. A moth humanoid version of a hellhound but rather bizarre in the shapes, broken rings and so on scattered or separated throughout the body. Otherwise, when not in this form, she simply looks like that of a humanoid moth with broken rings over her limbs. This is probably something she'd use if lost at the moment or death raging. • Holy Resistance: Vaggie has some forms of Holy Resistance, granted, holy weaponry STILL does kill her, but it has to be the finishing blow that destroys her rather than send her into a death rage. Otherwise, it does not really do much to her other than pierce her more easily. I kind of reason this is simply how that type of weaponry works, however, albeit, it does not kill pure angels. • Knowledgeable about Demons and keeps the players on the radar in her sights: She has a deep knowledge of Alister and his place, probably among the others. I will not have her god-mod, but mostly just if your character is infamous of famous within Hell, Heaven, or even Earth if doing a fantasy setting? Then yeah, she probably knows of them if she’s been in the area for a month or two. And is also capable of tactics, forming strategies on the best way to kill something if given enough time or on the fly depending. • Hunter Sense: Vaggie is not exactly entirely blind in her other eye that has an X over it, but mostly it picks up aura trails and meshes with sight in general, to which everyone’s is unique. Mostly to track quickly and to kill. Higher Demons such as Stolas, Ozzie, Lucifer, Lilith, etc probably are aware of this basic Exterminator ability and can hide their auras for those more magic inclined . She can use this to fight invisible creatures as well unless hiding their auras, along with remembering weak-points through the aura once discovered. Motivations: To be free. To be loved. To support a cause for the common good. To enjoy things. To see her family again. Backstory: I had considered writing a backstory drabble like I have for other characters of great interest? And still might as it’d be called ‘Fall’ if people show interest in it enough, an example of my introduction drabbles can be found on Betilla, Ash, Fox, Clarence etc.

But to give a summary: more or less being kind-hearted innately, strong-willed even despite her high ranking from tactics, performance, then eventually the sights she sees. The people she kills and the genuine emotion, fear and the families being part of a squad who purged the Sinners who were just people trying to survive really did start to wake her up with the doubts she had, from families, more etc, the stuff you can’t just ignore. More or less Vaggie was born to be a weapon, a sword of retribution and justice to which she embraced at first, though overtime with all that in mind and an encounter with Charlie? Started talking after they had throughout the fight mostly prompted by Charlie, talking, relating and Vaggie’s doubts more or less confirmed. Was given a charm at the end of it, the two communicating overtime, Vaggie starting to primarily target the more ‘worse’ dredges of the Pride Ring and them specifically. Showing mercy at times when able, though eventually led to unwanted attention by certain other ‘leading’ beings that went to Hell as well. This eventually led to a framing, drama, events I don’t exactly want to spoil? But it ends with her avoiding a fate of memory erase, torture and repeated deaths to make her into a true Exterminator as she was intended to be with the help of the charm, Charlie yoinking her to Hell and her waking up in a bed and going from there.

Multiverse wise, I’m kind of just going to give the same reasoning that Vaggie defected due to how things were run in a vague realm sense of things.

GOD but its Just scifi written by a man. its all the same. theres a Specific way that misogyny seems to manifest in scifi books that is unique to that (or maybe i just dont read much fiction and this is universal lol?) and its this weird detached obsessive Thing and im fuckin sick of it. the first james a corey book (first book the expanse show is based on) was the EXACT same way like maybe just leave women alone and dont obsessively follow them and read their files and hang your salvation/redemption on fucking them bc u have interminably boring mommy issues. at least women with mommy issues have INTERESTING mommy issues.

this book was a fucking slog and none of the content redeemed it bc theres still absolutely no clarity abt whats happening in area x and nothing was illuminated or explained beyond the first chapter or so, which i GET its a mystery and im not expecting it laid out in bullet points but this book felt incredibly pointless and self-absorbed to the point of masturbatory and unless the not-biologist fucking kills this guy in book 3 and starts a transhumanist lesbian throuple with the director and the assistant director (OR the author pulls some incredible worldbuilding of which ive seen no real evidence out of his ass) im going to be equally disappointed by the third book i think!

Your blog has been a safe place for me. I’m really grateful to you. I feel ashamed that I’m not a gold star lesbian. I tried so hard to be with guys back in high school and make it work. And people were shocked when I came out because I was “boy crazy”. It always felt so wrong and something profoundly missing. Not only that but negative experiences with males, wether I was with them or not. So I thought, maybe I just don’t like boys because they are mean and I haven’t found the right one yet. But it never worked. I thought, surely I must be attracted to boys because I like gay fanfiction. I must be bi right? Because cartoon anime boys are just like real men of course. And being from the rural south, homosexuality would get you hated at worst and at best you’d be made fun of. It kills me that I feel like I wasted my time. Accepting myself for who I am, and what I really am truly attracted to, is scary as hell. But I tried to imagine myself married to a man and it just made me want to throw up. But being with a woman seemed so much more natural and right. I’m out and grateful to be here. I feel so much less alone and free. I feel ashamed that I ever fell into comphet (I think is what it’s called)? Not sure how to get past it :( I wish I could go back in time to young me and tell her it’s ok to be gay. But in relation to your shame about not being a “gold star lesbian”, I think there are some things worth keeping in mind. Specifically in relation to my personal blog, since I have had public and private asks who’ve expressed a certain envy that I am so open about who I am in comparison to how long it took them. And it is this: I grew up in California – arguably the most liberal state in the United States. I also grew up around a family that was more concerned with my grades than my sexual orientation (when I came out to my mom, she literally said, “You’re still going to college, right?”). I was allowed to be a tomboy growing up not just with permission from my family but from the culture of my state that really just didn’t care.

In any sort of “controversial” opinion I make about personal choice, I always do my best to preface this with these facts. Because where you grow up and what culture has done its best to mold you into its intended/ideal shape. I reblogged a post from @lesbienyu where she talked about how a lot of progressive areas in the U.S. have this illusion that hyper-religiousness only exists in southern boondocks (people seem to generally tie it strictly to the south). And there is this part:

I do my best to reblog and really read perspectives from other women that I can't relate with because it might resonate more with a follower of mine and just gives me more rounded place to come from when I talk about things. And this is one of those things. I can't relate to this. I have never faced judgement based on my chosen religion or lack thereof.

So why am I saying all this? Why am I linking other posts and talking at length about all this? Because you and I come from very different worlds, anon. You come from the rural South and I'm suburban-ish/city-ish Californian. We were never going to have the same story of finding ourselves and that's okay! You existed in a space where who you were conflicted with your safety and your quality of life. I existed in one where it wasn't hated or celebrated - it just didn't matter.

I only hate that you had to traumatize yourself through no choice of your own. You are not shameful for succumbing to a system that came before you and will unfortunately outlive you. I want you to enjoy being out and enjoy coming here and seeing lesbian pride without shaming the little version of yourself that was just trying to survive as best she could. She'll be glad what she grew up into . <3

i missed all of the macroclit stuff and it’s really sad considering i knew her personally. she has untreated mental illness on top of being autistic and the stress of the entirety of radblr calling for you to delete & die while dealing with intense personal trauma like an abortion is so overwhelming. there’s so much pressure on radblr for atonement, no forgiveness for wrongdoing. that being said, her opinion about same sex attraction having bending room for TIMs is based in her bisexuality and experiences of her “lesbianism”. bisexual women will never be able to speak to the nature of lesbianism because they still feel attraction to the oppressor even when they don’t believe it. her failure to contextualize how her bisexuality whether she accepted it or not has permeated what she considered her time as a lesbian. being southern baptist inspires internalized homophobia. it doesn’t make it okay for her to enact that upon others, but in no context was she attacking or calling out anyone specific. i’ve seen worse attacks on this website go unmentioned because the creator had more gravitas or more followers. 🤷🏾‍♀️

idk like i’ve been harassed almost constantly since being in radblr, ive been more or less doxxed & threatened & had my trauma weaponised against me over and over again for years. there were 3 different blogs straight up dedicated to me at once while i was actively in an abusive relationship. & i didn’t react to that by saying homophobic or racist or misogynistic things online (the worst i had done in that time was call the woman harassing me an old hag) so i just.. don’t get how her having faced harassment & going thru an abortion has any relevance to her making multiple homophobic statements. in hindsight i do think she thinks she’s an authority on homosexuality & gay ppl’s experiences. when criticised for her stance on lesbians being able to be attracted to men by lesbians in that discord server, she literally said to one of them “girl.. have you ever experienced real homophobia?”. she left the server after doubling down on her take and when her beliefs were brought up here, she doubled down on it AGAIN. this was on top of her saying the f-slur and comparing hypocrites saying she isn’t a radfem to imperfect christians thinking they’re superior to gay ppl bc they aren’t gay.

that said, if she does decide to come back, i’m probably just gonna be wary and keep a distance bc this is not the first time she says prejudiced things about other minorities. i had forgiven her on like… 2 prior occasions already and i cant do it a 3rd time.

i can agree with u that there’s many things that go unnoticed/unmentioned here tho and that her take on lesbianism is influenced by her being bisexual but that’s the extent of it. i don’t agree w u downplaying it and attributing it to her having a hard time

My #1 post of 2022

I haven't seen anyone here talk about it yet, but if y'all care about owning or even seeing animals that aren't dogs and cats please be aware of the America COMPETES Act of 2022. The Act is 3,000 pages long and while most of it isn't relevant, some of it contains amendments to the Lacey Act. The Lacey Act, among other things, allows states to determine what they consider 'injurious' to native wildlife and put it on a blacklist, meaning it cannot be transported into or through that state. The America COMPETES Act of 2022 seeks to mush that all up into bits by requiring a universal whitelist nationwide effectively meaning that if something could be an invasive species in southern Florida, transporting it to Alaska (from anywhere in the world, whether for personal ownership, zoo or wildlife caretaking, sanctuary care, feed for other animals, etc etc) would be illegal and - if utilized as the Lacey Act has been, potentially a felony. Transportation both internationally AND between states for non-whitelisted animals would be illegalized, and identification of animals would be placed in the hands of enforcing officers from the US Fish and Wildlife Service. No more bringing your pet across state lines to move or for veterinary care if it is (as it so often is) impossible to find anyone closer. No more feeding your pets insects that might not have made it into the (as of yet undefined) whitelist. No more new intakes for zoos of animals that haven't either. This act could also potentially effect the ownership of certain animals in that list.

The potential problems goes on and on. Please look at USARK's article on this to and get more information on WHY this is a problem, as well as information on who and how to contact about keeping this gross overreach out of our legal system.

tl;dr a new act is threatening exotic (see, everything except a cat or dog) animal keepers, owners and sellers and NEEDS to be addressed before it passes unread.
