Dirty Metal Summer
a Dirty Dancing au
Part 1: Big Girls Don't Cry
Eddie x fem!Reader
MASTERLIST PLAYLIST
It's 1987, the same year the movie Dirty Dancing was originally released. 21-year-old reader is spending the summer with her dad and aunt at an all-inclusive resort in Indiana while she figures out what she wants to do with her life. After that summer, nothing will never be the same. Eddie is in his late 20’s and works as maintenance staff, he is also the frontman for the house band, begrudgingly delivering top 40 hits for the guests, and a secret third thing. When work is over, there is a completely different scene happening at a place the employees call The Hideout. Wayne is the head maintenance man, Chrissy is a metalhead, and a few other surprises. Bonus: Steve as a sexy, tattooed musician because I can't help myself.
my blog is always 18+only, MDNI please. The only warnings for the first chapter have to do with mention of a death of a parent, mention of grief, allusions to depression, a tiny bit of aggression, and alcohol consumption. But please read chapter warnings as the story progresses, because there will be angst, hurt/comfort, violence (fighting), and smut. Reader is called Bird as a nickname.
A/N: this is a rewrite of an OC fic I wrote over a year ago, and damn, I really needed to change a lot because my writing has evolved so much. I know I posted a snippet last week, but it's all been changed. Thank you to those who have been excited about this, I know Dirty Dancing is a cherished film, so I am treating this retelling with reverence, while adding some creative spins, and I truly hope you enjoy. The ST characters in this fic do not know each other in the same way they did in the show. For instance, Eddie, Steve, and Chrissy all grew up together, but I do my best to stick with their original character traits. This first part lines up very close with the film, but after that, it diverges and becomes a bit different. Same story line, but also not.
Part 1: Big Girls Don't Cry
word count: 6.3k
The soft murmur of a talk radio station hummed in the cement gray Mercedes-Benz 560, with your dad behind the wheel and his sister, your aunt Kim, in the passenger seat.  From the backseat, you stared out the window with your headphones on, wishing for rain.  The scenery was what you would expect from a place on earth that everyone considered idyllic, but you’d been exposed to so much lush greenery with that bright blue, theater backdrop of a sky for the last hour that you were starting to get a headache.
You pushed your wayfarer sunglasses up to rub the bridge of  your nose, and then flipped the tape over in your Walkman before clicking it shut to press play.  You were listening to a mixtape you’d made especially for the trip, the spine even said “road trip from hell”, but the first one on side b was Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac, and you closed your eyes for the next several songs.  You were doing your best not to think about how you’d be trapped in BFE Indiana for a whole month.
You were also doing your best not to think about how your mother would not be home when you got back, or worse yet, the fact that you would never see her again.  Never feel her generous hugs in those Laura Ashley dresses, smelling of Shalimar; never hear her voice at the other end of the line reminding you to eat something.
Your aunt said your name and your eyes snapped open.  It was perfect timing because tears were beginning to form at your lash line. She had turned around in her seat and was trying to get your attention.
You pulled your headphones down around your neck.  “Sorry?”
“The lake,” the expression on her face harbored more excitement than you’d ever felt in your entire life.  “Isn’t it gorgeous? We’re going to get pedicures at the spa tomorrow, I already booked it.”
You glanced at your father’s stoic profile and then back to Kim. You felt bad for your aunt, getting stuck on a trip with two sad, mopey fucks who were too depressed to get excited about the things that thrilled normal people.  You were the walking wounded.
“Pedicures, great,” your smile did not reach your eyes, but she didn’t seem to notice, as her enthusiasm doggedly refused to wane.
It had been almost four months since you lost her, and the world was still too…bright.  Everyone was so talkative and alive and you couldn’t relate.
You looked out over the smooth expanse of lake that was nestled perfectly in the trees like you were in some type of miniature scale model rebuild of a town.  Your aunt asked your dad, Owen, if he was still listening to the news, and when he shook his head, she changed the radio station to a golden oldies station and was satisfied with the tune Big Girls Don’t Cry by Frankie Vallie.
“You’ll love this cabin, Bird,” your dad said to you as the Mercedes crested the hill and began to maneuver down to your destination on a narrow, two-lane highway flanked with towering trees.  A big green and white sign welcomed them to Hawkins Landing.  “There’s a whole top floor where you can set up for your lessons.”
You turned away, back to the window, hiding the way your nose wrinkled.  You thought maybe a perk of this getaway would be to have a break from practicing the cello you’d been tied to for over a decade, but no luck.  He’d been forced to give up his dream of being a musician, and now you were expected to carry the torch for him.
You tried to come up with one thing you did in life that was not to please someone else, or boost some idea they had about you, and couldn’t come up with squat.
Besides reading.  And taking long walks with music to clear your head.  Those two were yours, and they could only be taken from your cold, dead, hands.
From the Hawkins Landing brochure your aunt had given you, it was clear that the property was enormous.  Some 30 or 40 guest cabins scattered around, a main house that functioned as a hotel but also housed two different restaurants.  A golf course, boat rentals, tennis courts, an outdoor theater, and a third restaurant situated on the water.  Along with the full service spa, there were indoor and outdoor swimming pools, plus any class you could imagine wanting to take, from salsa dancing and water skiing, to chess and crochet.
Hawkins Landing was like a camp for adults who enjoyed alcoholic beverages.
There was a security checkpoint at the main entrance with two guards inside.  The taller one with the neatly trimmed red beard recognized your father from the jacket cover on one of his many books.  Thrillers mostly, horror if you squint.  He nervously asked for an autograph, but Owen was very polite, adjusting his tortoise shell glass as he took the black marker that the guard was offering him.
After the checkpoint, it wasn’t long before the road opened into an expansive rose garden with a large fountain dead center, and the big main house with its wrap-around porch just to the right.  You pushed your sunglasses up to get a look at the people mingling around, getting the idea that the median age there was 45, and it was mostly families.
The guards had given your dad a foldout map of the property and told him to check in at the main house to get the keys to the cabin they were staying in. The car moved at a crawl at the roundabout, and then came to park where a sign announced new guest check-ins.
Your dad told you to sit tight while he went in to grab the keys, and your attention trailed off to a black golf cart with a white awning that wheeled in like a racecar and took position in front of the Mercedes.  It sat there close to the curb, idling.  You could see there was a woman behind the wheel, and she was looking straight ahead, giving you her profile.  Chin length, dark gold hair, just long enough for a ponytail, and the words “Hawkins Landing Staff” written in yellow cursive on the back of her navy blue jacket.  Where her sleeve was pushed up at her elbow, you noticed some type of tattooed lettering there, and her fingernails were painted black.
Up ahead, you caught sight of someone strolling down the sidewalk toward the car with a hand in his pocket. It was a guy with honey tipped chocolate hair styled in a pompadour with a curl that bounced at his forehead, wearing tan chinos and a maroon, button down short sleeve with the square bulge of a pack of smokes in his front pocket. A tattoo peeked out from the V of his shirt, and there was another design on his bicep. He wore a pinky ring on one hand and rolled a toothpick around in his mouth as he sidled up to the golf cart to say something to the woman driving it.  They bumped knuckles and talked for a bit like they were very familiar, him with one foot up on the running board of the cart.
“Steve, there you are,” from the open window, your attention bounced to a short, dark haired woman who’d just come out of the building and stood alongside your dad on the sidewalk.  A closer look told you that her name tag said Joyce.
The guy with the toothpick in his mouth straightened, smoothing the front of his shirt with his hand.  “Hey Joyce, I was just—”
Apparently uninterested in what he was about to say, she took him by the crook of the arm.  She introduced you all by your family name, and let him know that you were “her special guests”, and you assumed that had to do with your dad being a famous author, or maybe she said that about every new family.  While you chose to not do much else than offer a small wave from the back seat like you had no autonomy, Kim got out to greet them properly.
“This is Steve,” Joyce gestured to him with a Vanna White hand. “If you ever want to take guitar lessons this summer, he’s one of our best.”
“Or, if you just want to have some fun,” Steve’s eyes seemed to be searching Kim’s face, and then he shrugged. “I mean, I run the boats on the dock too, so if you want to ski or—”
Kim got flustered and tried to find her words, fussing with the lapel of her corduroy jacket in a way you’d never witnessed before. “I’m…I mean, sure, who wouldn’t want to be on the lake at a place like this?”
Kim hated boats and got seasick very easily, so you found her new interest amusing.
Joyce politely waved Steve off and he went, albeit reluctantly, backing up with slow steps to wave farewell.  The smile stretching across his face grew wider the longer Kim couldn’t take her eyes off of him. When he was finally jogging up the sidewalk to get to where he needed to be, Joyce continued to try and sell Kim and your dad on the resort, even though you were already booked for the month.
“Sunday night is Bingo night. There’s karaoke in The Antler Room on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and you need to check out our house band if you can.  They’re playing tonight on the back patio, and the rhythm guitar is sensational.  She used to perform with Vixen and Lita Ford,” she handed over the necessary keys and pointed the way to get to the cabin on the map.
“Just follow us,” Joyce said, hopping into the golf cart next to the girl with the forearm tattoo.
They led the way down a long, winding stretch with lush lawn and manicured hedges on either side, littered with people coming up from the pool in their bathing suits.  There appeared to be a Tai Chi lesson happening on the lawn near the rose garden, and some type of painting class going on just above them on a balcony.
Made you wonder why summer people always had to stay so busy.
The cabin you’d be staying in was down a side road, tucked at the end of a private driveway with a view of the lake. It had five bedrooms, which was more than enough, but one of them would immediately turn into Owen’s writing room so that he could work on his latest novel.
You were careful to tuck your Walkman into your bag as the Mercedes coasted into its parking spot.  Squinting up at the place, you were somewhat distracted by how much you liked the creepy, old feel of the whitewashed cabin, and you underestimated how far from the curb you were when you stepped out, stumbling to the side.
The girl with the forearm tattoo caught you in both arms, preventing you from putting all of your weight on your twisted ankle.
“Whoa,” she moved her supportive grip from your waist to your elbow as you righted yourself.  “You okay?”
Your heart shot into your throat, and then you coughed a laugh, covering your face. “What a way to start the summer.”
She said her name was Robin, and there was a polite handshake exchange. She tripped over her words a bit.  “It’s not every day that someone falls for me.”
“Well, I’m pretty clumsy, you might need to stay close,” and the two of you shared a self-conscious laugh as you led the way to the trunk full of baggage.
When you reached in to grab your suitcase, Robin teased, “hey, that’s my job,” before leaning further in to take the oddly shaped black hard case, the satin of her jacket skimming your arm. She struggled with it at first, but then held it up by the handle and gave you a sideways look.
“This yours?” She asked, cocking one eyebrow up. “You’re a musician?”
“No, well, yes I am but no I, I play the cello,” you stammered, not sure why it was hard to get the words out. “But here, I can carry that. It’s big and heavy and—”
Robin winked.  “I got it,” and then she snatched another suitcase with the other hand and shuffled by you to make her way up to the porch.
Once you were all settled inside and Joyce had explained all of the amenities, you and Kim pushed back the curtains and watched the two go from the living room window. Just before they took off in the cart, Robin sent you a wave.
“She looks like a nice girl,” Kim had her arms folded over her chest. “Maybe the two of you could—”
“I know you’re worried about me, okay, but I don’t need to make any friends this summer,” you were holding the case for your cello in front of you with both hands, using it as a metaphorical barrier. “I like being alone.”
By the time you put your stuff away in the bedroom you’d be staying in, your dad was already typing away in his writing room, you could hear the keys of his Selectric click-clacking.
“I’ll be back in a bit,” you called across the rustic but spacious cabin living room.  “I’m going to look around the main house.”
Kim barely caught your words as she was struggling with her glasses to read an ingredient label as she put some dry goods away in the kitchen.  “Mhmm sounds good, have fun. Be back in time for dinner, we have reservations at…whatever that place is called. Your dad knows.”
You tapped the Swatch on your wrist and gave an absent wave over your shoulder.
With your headphones on, you made your way down to the main sidewalk that split off in two directions, bordering either side of the swimming pool and tennis courts.  You found the bike path that wound down along the lake to the boat dock, and then up into a lush pocket of dense forest.  Two teenage girls on rollerblades almost crashed into you as they bolted around the bend, giggling.  Trying to decide if you wanted to go toward the water or into the woods, you watched a staff member veer off onto an uneven stone pathway and your curiosity was piqued.
Creeping along in their wake, you marched up a hill for what felt like forever, with Bring on the Dancing Horses by Echo and the Bunnymen playing in your ears, until you realized with a start that you’d already arrived at the main building.  It loomed up ahead like a mansion from some old gothic romance novel.
You continued to plod your way along the trunks of trees, until you spotted a group having a chat on the wide porch, and took a few steps back.
They were all leaning against the railing in a semicircle, facing each other,  so that you could see the Hawkins Landing Staff on the back of a few of their navy jackets.
One of them was Steve from earlier, next to him was a girl with a blonde ponytail, and then two others.
“I met that author guy today,” Steve took a drag and then blew the smoke up in the air, away from everyone’s face.  “The one who wrote Darkness on the Hill, that one they made into a movie.”
You realized that it was your dad he was talking about.
Not looking where you were stepping, you caught your toe on a tree root and your arms windmilled before you were able to find your balance, floundering to duck behind another tree.  Your mouth opened in a silent scream, trying not to gasp at the pain in your foot.  Grimacing, you turned the volume down on the headphones that were around your neck to better hear what they were saying.
“That actor from that one show about law and order is staying in cabin 8,” the girl with the ponytail said.  “Housekeeping says he finishes a bottle of whiskey a night.”
But then, there was another voice. “Now that sounds like a great fucking vacation to me,” followed by the heavy footfalls of boots on wood as a new person approached the group.
The sight of the new arrival made you feel like your brain was wiped clean—-the whole world came to a screeching halt.
Swallowing hard, all of your attention tunneled on him; his long dark hair with bangs that crowded his eyes, a thin but muscular build, tattoos scattered over his exposed arms, and a leather jacket hooked over his shoulder with one finger. He combed a hand through his hair as he walked, chunky metal rings catching the light, and headed over to the blonde girl.  You took note of every movement as she passed him her half-smoked cig and he gave her a quick kiss on the temple.
Was that his girlfriend?
He stepped back to introduce the younger guy he had with him.  “This Jamie, my new maintenance trainee,” he used the hand holding his smoke to point to each one on the balcony individually.  You really didn’t pay attention until he got to the blonde one.  “...that one there is the lovely Chrissy, and the moody one with the hairy chest is Steve.  They’re the other musicians I told you about.”
Jamie had short black, curly hair and a hoop piercing in one ear.  He lit his own smoke while the metalhead started in with a story about a pump exploding at the pool house, complete with wild hand gestures.
“Hey, there the fuck you are.  I’ve been looking everywhere for you losers.”
Another voice, another person making their way down the long stretch of squeaky wood planks from the front of the building.  You stepped closer, snapping a twig under your foot, eliciting a worried lip bite.
Everyone stayed right where they were, but for Eddie who moved in front of Jamie in a protective way.  The guy approaching at a stroll had very nondescript good looks with his wheat blonde hair in a tight cut that looked freshly trimmed.  While the others were dressed more casually, this one wore a white dress shirt and tie with black trousers, as if he had some fancy place to be.
“You talking to me?” The metalhead flicked his cigarette ash and stepped forward to meet the new guy before he could come any closer to the group. “Cause, if so, you might want to change your tone, precious.”
“Eddie, don’t,” Chrissy said, and then she stood up, addressing the guy in the suit.  “Jason, what the fuck do you want?”
Eddie, you moved your lips, whispering the name to yourself.  His name was Eddie.
Jason put his hands up in mock surrender.  “Why so hostile?” He turned to Eddie. “Joyce has been trying to find you for an hour.  There’s a toilet backed up in one of the cabins, and trash that needs to go to the dump. Sounds to me like you’re having a hard time doing your job, Munson.”
You scuttled like a crab, moving to a spot where you could see their faces instead of the backs of their heads.
So that you could see Eddie’s face.
Steve checked his watch and pushed off of the railing to snub his cig out on the bottom of his shoe.  “I gotta run.  See you bastards at the show tonight,” he said in passing, shoving both hands into his trouser pockets.  He walked right into Jason, shoulder checking him, before casually going on his way.  Jason shot him an evil look.
“Well,” Eddie took a deep breath. “Tell Joyce I got the message,” and then he motioned for Jamie to follow him.
“Too bad we can’t take you out with the rest of the trash, freak,” Jason mumbled, loud enough for you to hear every word, and a tension crackled in the air.
The metalhead stopped dead in his tracks and drew his shoulders back.
When he finally turned on his heel, he wore a satisfied smirk, inclining his head, as if he’d been waiting for Jason to say something all along.
Chrissy moved as if she were about to go over and break up whatever was about to happen, but one of the others put a handout and stopped her.
“Just keep sending your laundry home to mommy, baby boy, and leave the real work to me,” Eddie said, and then he flicked the butt of his cigarette at Jason’s face.
Jason moved his head just in time so that the hot cherry missed his cheek by a hair and bounced off the wall behind him, spraying sparks.  Chrissy and the others snickered at how beet red Jason’s face got, but he didn’t say another word, he just waited for Eddie and Jamie to be far enough away before he went back around to the front entrance.
When the coast was clear, you stood and made your way to the path again.  With a curse you realized you were going to be late for that dinner reservation, and picked up speed to a slow, sad jog.
You found yourself thinking that maybe being trapped at Hawkins Landing for the summer wouldn’t be so bad after all.
—----
Your aunt Kim gave you an exasperated look when you all finally sat down for dinner, being that you’d made everyone 20 minutes late for the reservation.  There didn’t appear to be a single open table when you arrived, but Joyce had made sure to keep the one by the window facing the gardens open for your party.  She came around to introduce the guy who was to be your waiter, and you sat up a little straighter in your seat when you realized it was Jason from earlier.  The way he’d been dressed out on the porch made sense now, as his uniform was the same as all of the other waitstaff.
Near the end of the meal, Joyce returned to the table in her black pencil skirt and fitted jacket, but this time, she was with a guy who you could tell wanted to look like Don Johnson in Miami Vice, but it came off more as Gary from Weird Science.
“I'd like you to meet Troy, he’s the son of Mr. Brenner, the owner of the resort,” there was a reluctance about her, as if she’d been forced at gunpoint to introduce him.
Troy stared at you with an uncomfortable intensity, making your attention fall to your plate.
“I’m in charge when my father isn’t around,” Troy said with a smug grin, putting his hands in his white trouser pockets, and you spotted some type of metal retainer on his teeth.
Joyce cleared her throat, annoyed that his statement was far from true.  But she recognized that it was part of her job to indulge the little shit.
“I just graduated with a business degree from Georgetown,” he gloated, giving you a wink.  “This place will all be mine one day.”
Your father exchanged a look with your aunt over his chocolate mousse.
“Well, it’s nice to know someone else your age here, isn’t it, Bird? Maybe you two kids should go have some fun tonight,” Kim chirped.
If your aunt wasn’t so far away, you would’ve kicked her under the table.
Troy bent at the waist so that his face wasn’t far from yours.  “I’d love to show you around after dinner, if you’re interested in a tour?”
Before you could issue a vague excuse like, “sorry I can’t, I have a headache,” Kim spoke for you again.
“I think that’s a great idea,” she even clapped her hands, applauding it.
In the end, you went with him to make Kim happy, to get her off your back, hopefully for the rest of the trip.
An hour or two with a pretentious prick wouldn’t hurt you.
—-------
Troy wasn’t bad company, but he was quite full of himself.  He had interesting stories about his extensive travels, but then he also told awkward stories that were possibly fibs about how many models he’d dated, and expanded on how he wanted to be married with two kids by the time he was 30.
You, on the other hand, couldn’t imagine thinking that far ahead, and he wouldn’t let you get a word in edgewise.
You followed close behind through the huge, busy kitchen of the restaurant you’d just dined in, and he tried to hold your hand when he introduced you to the head chef, but you were sly, and pulled it away to cross your arms over your chest.  He gave you a tour of the ballroom and took a stroll through the other restaurant on the opposite end of the building that had a much more relaxed feel, low lighting, red carpet, and a bar at the center.
You went down to the boat docks and walked along the pier. The stars were breathtaking, but Troy didn’t notice, he was too busy trying to convince you to go out on his boat with him.  You declined, taking a page from Kim’s book to mention a freshly born curse of violent seasickness.
You had your elbows on the railing at the pier, enjoying the velvet reflection of the crescent moon in the lake, and you could feel your jaw grow tense under the weight of Troy’s stare.
On the verge of telling him you were ready to head back to your cabin, the sound of music drifted down from somewhere on the property.
Yes, no mistaking, it was Take Me Home Tonight by Eddie Money, but it was being executed with someone else’s voice, and whoever that person was had some serious pipes.
And then there was the distinct sound of a feminine voice chiming in with the parts from the song Be My Baby Now by the Ronettes in the chorus.
"Is that a live band?" You turned away from him to try and find the source of the music.  It wasn’t coming from the restaurant on the water or any of the cabins to your right.
"There's a cover band every Friday out behind the main house. You want to check it out?" He held the crook of his arm out to you and hesitated before you took it.  His ego sufficiently stroked now that you wanted to spend more time with him.
Around the side of the building, overlooking the golf course, was a huge, fenced in back patio garden area with a private hot tub and pool for hotel guests.  Troy led you through a white arbor wound with ivy to find that there were plenty of people mingling, drinking, and dancing.  The area was mostly manicured lawn, with stone pathways meandering around from a concrete floor that was right in front of the small riser that was meant to be a stage. You imagined that a million weddings had taken place there.
At the door was a bar, and Troy got you a flute of champagne, which you downed with abandon and asked for another.  While he was getting your second glass, you made your way along under several boughs of white string lights to get a view of the stage and who was performing the top tier Eddie Money cover.
Just as you stepped into the crowd of people shuffling to the beat, you stopped dead in your tracks.
There he was at the mic: Eddie the metalhead.
Guitar slug low at his hips, wearing a tuxedo with light blue cummerbund and bow tie, his hair neatly combed back and fixed into a knot at the back of his head so that you could really see the curves of his face. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think he was performing the song against his will.
The rest of the band were dressed similarly, and you instantly knew the one strumming the bass guitar as Steve, and the woman on backup vocals rocking on the rhythm was Chrissy, who wore a conservative skirt and flats. There was also a keyboardist and a drummer, both of whom you did not recognize.
“What’s your major?” Troy asked, breaking your reverie to pass you the glass of champagne. “In college?”
You were confused for a second but then, “oh, I took the year off to…figure some things out.” The full truth of it was that you had dropped out completely and had no intention of going back.
“I spent a summer in Greece my freshman year,” he offered, unprovoked. “The women there are, wow, so smoking hot.”
The song finished and Eddie took his tuxedo jacket off, rolling up his shirt sleeves to his elbows, exposing the scattered tattoos you’d noticed earlier.  He leaned over to whisper something to Chrissy, motioned at the drummer, and then stepped back into place, brushing a loose wisp of hair off his cheek.
“Find someone special for this next one,” he told the crowd, and was answered with a rush of murmurs.
The first notes to In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel, a slow song, lit up the space, and your stomach tightened, fearing that Troy would ask you to dance. As he escorted you to the floor, you tried to keep your head down and stay to the back of the crowd, but Troy kept maneuvering you closer to the stage.
I get so lost, sometimes
Days pass and this emptiness fills my heart
When I want to run away
I drive off in my car
But whichever way I go
I come back to the place you are
You watched the performance from over Troy’s shoulder and followed his lead, shifting from foot to foot.  You were mesmerized by the muscles in Eddie’s hands as he played each note, and the way Chrissy came in like an angel on the chorus.
He’d captured the attention of everyone in the garden at that moment, and there was a group of women watching him from the sidelines, whispering to each other, possibly about how they wanted to eat him alive.
They were all thinking the same thing you were: Eddie was magic.
He liked to close his eyes when he sang, so you weren’t expecting him to be staring right at you when he opened them again.
All my instincts, they return
And the grand facade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride
I reach out from the inside
He wouldn’t break eye contact, so you eventually had to; the intensity of it was giving you butterflies.
Troy stepped back and tried to get your attention.  “Did you hear anything I just said?”
You nodded, but your gaze only drifted back to Eddie.  Troy followed your line of sight and then dropped both of his hands with a frustrated cluck of his tongue.
"What the hell is he doing up there?" He hissed to himself when it dawned on him that Eddie had been behind the mic that whole time. "That's our goddamn maintenance guy. He shouldn't be up there."
In a huff, Troy pushed through the crowd and headed over to one of the other staff members against the fence. Bird could see him shouting and pointing over at the stage. Whatever the staff guy said did not seem to cheer him up a bit, and he came back to your side, shrugging his shoulders.
"I guess our normal front man Drew has the flu," he reported back. "It's just so hard to find reliable help these days."
Eddie was making the song his own, and that was what you liked about it.
“Let’s get out of here,” Troy put his hand on your lower back to escort you out. “The music sucks.”
—--
It was 9:30 when you made it back to the main foyer, standing in the middle of the lobby next to an obnoxious floral arrangement, when Troy tried to get you to go back to his cabin and watch a movie, only to get respectfully declined.
“Don’t worry about your parents,” Troy said, brushing his finger over your chin. “They know you’re with me, so they’re probably the happiest parents at Hawkins Landing.”
The guy had quite an ego on him, you had to give him that. It was unsurpassed by most.
In the end, you got away, and as soon as your Mary Jane’s hit the cobblestones outside the front door, you could feel yourself trotting at a quicker pace, eager to put some distance between you and Troy and everyone else, for that matter.  You didn’t stop until you were far enough away from the main hotel to be able to check over your shoulder and not see it through the trees.
It was then that you realized that you had a free chunk of time, and you could do with it whatever you wished.  Your dad would think you were still with Troy, and as long as you made it back to the cabin before midnight, they wouldn’t worry.
As much as it was the dead of summer, Indiana by the water had very cool nights, and you buttoned up the jean jacket you were wearing just as you noticed a yellow sign on a lamppost to the right that said: Staff Quarters, No Guests Allowed Beyond This Point
And that made you want to venture in even more.
You checked around to make sure there was no one there to notice that you blatantly ignored the sign, and just kept going.  The path at your feet changed from stone to a well-worn dirt path through the grass, and it wasn’t long before you could hear the sound of music erupting in the distance.
You passed by staff quarters, a few weathered red cabins with white trim, lined close together, and there were some people hanging out on their porches who gave you curious looks, but didn’t seem too concerned with your presence.
Following the source of the music, you descended down into unknown, poorly lit territory that no longer looked like it was part of the Hawkins Landing property.
(song playing in the distance is Dangerous Meeting by Mercyful Fate)
It was then that you noticed a pale yellow light coming from the windows of a building up ahead.  Just as the dirt path turned to gravel, you identified the music you were hearing as heavy metal, and it was bolstered by distinct shouts and cheers, even a high-pitched scream or two.
“Hey,” a voice startled you from out of the dark and you jumped. “What are you going out here?”
Heart racing, you spun around to find out it was Robin.
She was struggling to carry several things in her arms as she walked and you rushed over to her.
“Where did you come from?” You asked, grinning ear to ear at how glad you were to see someone familiar.
“My cabin is right over there,” she bucked her chin in a direction behind you.
She had a crossbody bag over her shoulder, an amp in one hand, and she was juggling two guitar cases, one of which she fumbled, and you managed to catch it before it hit the ground.  You wrapped your arms around the hard case with the Scorpions sticker on it, silently offering to carry it the rest of the way.
“You don’t have to—” Robin started, adjusting the bag over her shoulder.
“I want to,” you looked back up at the house where the music was coming from, assuming that was where she was headed.  “I carry that big cello around all the time, remember? I’m used to it.”
Robin moved her jaw from side to side and she looked conflicted.  “You’re not supposed to be here.”
Your eyes were still locked on the house hidden in the trees.  “What is that place?”
“Listen,” she gave you an imploring look. “I will get in so much trouble if they find out you came out here. Your dad won’t want you here, trust me.”
Her warning did nothing to squelch your curiosity. “I’m a big girl, I go wherever I want. Plus, I won’t tell anyone.”
“Besides,” she gave you a knowing look, raising her eyebrow. “If your boyfriend Troy finds out you were here, Brenner will fire all of us.”
“He’s not my boyfriend,” you snapped.  But then, softer, you added, “I barely just met him tonight.”
Robin wasn’t in the mood to try and rip the guitar out of your hands, and so, with a heavy sigh, she caved.
“Fine,” she sighed. “But stay close to me, okay? You’re not at the resort anymore, sweetheart.”
You nodded, waiting for her to lead the way.
She took a step forward and then stopped and turned on her heel to point at the instrument in your arms.
“Be extra careful with that, it’s Eddie’s baby. He’ll grow horns if anything happens to it.”

Hi! If you are familiar with the movie Dirty Dancing, you have an idea about what scene is coming up next. I've really enjoyed lining up certain events with the movie, but things will obviously be different in this because I want it to have some surprises in store for you.
Every chapter from here on out will start with a list of the songs, ones that will give hints for what to expect. I wanted to make music a big part of this fic, because it was a huge deal in the movie, and the original soundtrack is still dear to me.
as always, thank you so much for reading and interacting with this story! Comments and reblogs are deeply appreciated. or send me an ask and let me know what you think ❤️

“You can drive all night…”
Leon really could. On nights like this, when the stars aren't visible in the obscure sky, his hands would grip on the steering wheel and drive towards nothing. He's definitely wrong for doing that. Driving while being drunk. Barely recognizing anything on the road, the semaphore lights look like a beam that irritates his eyes. Those same eyes who used to shine brighter than that. Those damn eyes who used to look bigger. Those same eyes who are now tired, exhausted, spent, worn out, every single synonym you could search up for to describe those parts he couldn't recognize anymore on himself. He's now nearly forty, and he never imagined this. The younger and pure him would always thought that forty was the age of success, where he would be resting all day, without work to do, without people in his mind, without worries, nothing to worry about. Silly him for thinking that.
“Lookin' for the answers in the pourin' rain…"
He never had his answers, never even had one. He would always question himself, like why he's alive and most of his friends dead. This wasn't a bit fair, and not a single fair for that big rounded younger Leon. When he looks to the past, he hopes he gets blind to not see those things again. Forget everything that happened, the days he spent in pure automatic, the bad things he said, the disgusting things he saw and had to participate in. Leon used to think that things would get better, when it didn't.
“You wanna find peace of mind
Lookin' for the answer
If we can find a reason, a reason to change
Lookin' for the answers
If you can find a reason, a reason to stay
Standin' in the pourin' rain…”
That poor old dog had his reasons to stay. Some reasons even seem foolish, like taking care of his dog. He always thought what his dear four-legged friend would do without him, he would probably die, and he can't let this happen. The big Irish Setter called Luis was a gift from Ashley after some years, she said it was to help them to deal with what happened in Spain. The blond was septic at first, and refused to call a damn dog as Luis. But they were very similar. Those eyes followed him everywhere, the way his fur looked like his hair, and soon…he found himself calling him that way he promised not to. It was stupid. But that stupid act helped. Leon felt like Luis was with him all the time, that his friend were there on his side. And he caught himself chatting with the animal, telling him how the day was tiring, and he seemed to understand everything, practically paying attention to his words. He would sniff Leon, place his snout below his hands to earn some caresses and help him forget the subject quickly. He sure is a clever dog, and he rapidly got attached to the pet, or better saying, his friend. Now, the man would enter his house and found the old dog running to him, jumping on his legs to earn his attention. And that futile act would take out a sincere chuckle out of him, only he could do that.
Old as he is now, he asked the D.S.O to work less. And as he worked so much for them, they granted it. Letting him do little jobs, more like a detective. And that only earned him more headaches. Specifically saying, one headache of a woman, his partner that he despises so much. That voice of yours would get into his brain and annoy him.
—”You drank last night again, right? I can see you're not looking well.”
That got him rolling his eyes up every time, groaning in bitterness. Why would you care about him that much? You never did, and he knows it. You were so much younger, so much brighter, so much like him in the past, and he hated this. You were always such a tease, that damn smile plastered on your face like he wasn't worthy of that happiness. Leon hates you. With the depths of his heart, his repugnance about you is real, and he knows himself enough for that. He just doesn't understand. But he thinks he does, and silly him for thinking that.
His true impliccance to you is your happiness. You can't be happy if he isn't, that's obvious. He started to dig why you're happy and he's not. In the serious cases you were alongside with him, you never took it one hundred percent seriously, you would make jokes all the time and he would just ignore. But deep inside, he was holding himself not to laugh.
—”Damn, where's everyone going?” — Leon looked behind, watching you circle on your place, searching for human sights.
—”Bingo.”
And his answer came out of nowhere. So suddenly you didn't expect it. That took a single giggle of you, your eyes squinting as you shook your head to it.
—”Yeah, okay old man.”
He found himself proud, proud that his same old joke made some effect. Even if it was on someone he hated it. Leon sighed softly, turning back to his place and wondering if you would find his other jokes funny. You were always laughing, so it would be easy to make you laugh. But that wasn't the time for it, and neither was important. Leon quickly got back to his serious face and focused on the mission. But you, you were surprised to see such a side of him, even a fraction of it. He never was the one talking to you, and you just thought he was the serious old man you heard of. And honestly, you heard a bit of his story, of his mades and how impressionnant he is. But you would never admit it, because that would be invasive, and you're not prepared to understand his pain.
But Leon is a bad liar, a really bad one. And he couldn't lie to himself, couldn't lie when his hurt hung to each other, not when his pupils dilated without his consent every time, not when his hands started to sweat or the words slipped out of his tongue incontrollably. He knew this was love, in the most bad time to come in, and the most bad person to fell in love, but there's no denial. The problem is, Leon Kennedy is also not going to accept it easy, so that's a big problem from now on. Even bigger if the problem is you, the so annoying rookie that's he's slowly wishing you two are on the same mission, the same rookie that laughs of his stupid jokes, that rookie that brings some desserts some times and he pretends not to like. That damn rookie.

ash/ashley = readers sister.
there were many things ellie williams felt that night, ecstasy, relief, pure and utter bliss. what she didn't think, however, was that it would lead to her sitting in a seat by herself in her kitchen, a hand on her forehead as she skimmed through her thoughts as if she were an absolute idiot. when her lips were on yours, wet kisses pushing roughly against your so obviously 'unkissed' pout. you were knew to it, never have kissed anyone before but how could you? when you wore a silver cross necklace so proudly, you spent most your time cooped up in the little church across the road, you couldn't ever have even gotten close enough. there was such pride that ellie had swooning through her as she placed the very first kiss ever on your lips. it was pure bliss, to finally get what she had wanted for so long, to have you right where she wanted. everything was... perfect.
until, you ran away.
almost a week had passed, no call, no text, not even a mumble of a hello in the hallway. you did everything in your power to run the opposite direction upon seeing ellie anywhere near you. suddenly, you had choir more often, you had violin class too, along with the many other clubs you had joined. suddenly, you spent near no time in your own house let alone when ellie was standing in it.
of course, guilt racked your thoughts. the way her face seemed to contort as you pulled away from her, making a sound that didn't sound as though you were happy. panic stricken face as you couldn't even look at her own heartbreaking one. guilt consumed you everywhere you went. when you sat inside a church, thinking of the very reason you had to run away, when you saw a couple holding hands knowing that it was only reminding you of ellie williams and when you saw her in the hall, when her face lit up at the sight of you and when you pushed yourself into the nearest cubicle you could find simply to avoid her.
but how could you face her now? knowing you had committed the very sin you had swore against every devil you would never do. how could you look at her knowing that every inch of you was aching to be with her, and that was so wrong.
a text caused your body to jolt ever so slightly, a vibration being sent through your leg as you glanced down at your phone in which was sitting in your lap.
it was english class and mr. lionel was currently giving out to three girls, they hadn't stopped talking upon entering the class and mr. lionel had just about enough. you glanced down at the phone, biting your bottom lip, surely, the man wouldn't notice. you had never exactly went on your phone in class, then again, no one texted you really aside from ashley but she never texted at this hour, no, she was either ditching school to sleep or in one of the classes she liked best, either way, she wouldn't be texting you at such a time. you chewed down on your bottom lip, the thought of getting caught, getting in trouble was enough to send your stomach pit falling down to your ankles. but you did, because lately you seemed to be doing just about everything you weren't supposed to. glancing down, you slowly turned your phone upwards so the screen was facing you and you could read the little words that littered across it.
unknown: hey this is max, listen i know everything happened between us but i need to see you. behind the school at 4:00. don't be late.
weird, you thought you still had maxine's contact saved but nevertheless brushed it off. your pit in your stomach grew, worsening as you opened the message to type back. you didn't want to meet her, if you did and by chance, your parents found out, you would never be let see the light of day again. but maxine needed you. and whether that was to help fix a problem or scream at her one last time you knew you owed her that much. so, you pattered your fingertips against the dark screen, ignoring the haunting feeling that someone may see you, guilt swarming your every move. you truly didn't know how to break the news to maxine and ruth that you were never permitted to speak to them again and while they seemed oh so understanding, you couldn't help the guilt that prodded against you as they hugged you for the last time. you also, as much as you'd like to admit it, couldn't keep the tears at bay that day.
"y/n." your eyes snapped towards your teacher, phone plopping back in your lap just as you sent the text through. he was giving you a suspicious eye, catching you on your phone. but he wouldn't humiliate you, not in front of your peers at least, no, he'd never, after all you were his favourite student. "can you tell me which poetic technique is shown here?"
"uhm." squirming in your seat as your eyes fell onto the board. "oxymoron, contrasting between the light and dark." mumbling so low he could barely hear you, but nonetheless he grinned and like that, he continued on with class, something you were oh so grateful for.
the end of school neared dangerously closer as you ended up in the front of maths class, scribbling down trigonometric ratios while your stomach twisted over and over, the thoughts of seeing maxine after school could only cause your brain to absolutely fry. you were thankful she had picked behind the school, no one went there after school so naturally it was the most private place to be, you wondered if she did that for you or for herself, so she could yell at you in peace. while you were sure you didn't wish to be yelled at you knew you deserved it. for the first time in that whole week, ellie williams wasn't on your mind, just those two friends that you missed ever so dearly and yet couldn't even communicate to.
as soon as the bell rang through your ears, you scooped up your pretty pink bag and stuffed all your belongings inside. with pencils almost falling out of your pencil case, you crushed everything together and zipped up your bag with great effort. you didn't so much as bid the teacher goodbye before you were on your feet, ignoring the way your mary janes skid across the hallway floors but instead focusing on how much faster you could get there, you didn't wish to be late. after all, she had specified you not do so. the school was large but thankfully you knew it like the back of your hand.
gripping the straps of your pretty bag against your shoulders, you all but ran toward the other side of the school. checking your back and over your shoulder you realised that no, you were not being followed just extra paranoid. how could you not? when you had practically burned bridges with just about everyone. you blinked heavily, readying yourself to turn the corner and be met with a very angry maxine.
you weren't met with an angry maxine because you weren't met with maxine at all.
ellie williams stood with her back to the wall, stomping out a cigarette with her foot. you stood frozen, eyes wide and at first you believed it could be some mistake, some mix up but by the way her eyes lit up when her head turned towards you, it certainly was no mistake. "y/n, you came."
you gave her a look with furrowed brows. "you pretended to be max." it wasn't a question, it was a statement.
ellie pushed her back from the wall, moving towards you. "look, i know it was fucked up, i know but y'wanna know what else is fucked up? ignoring me for a whole week." you looked around, hands holding yourself close as you hoped and prayed that no one saw the two of you conversing. something about standing with ellie made you feel so... filthy. "i mean what the fuck was that?" as bad as it sounded, the crude language felt so refreshing to hear tumbling from her lips.
your hands scratched at opposite arms. "ellie, we shouldn't do this here... now." any excuse to get yourself right out of this situation as fast as humanly possible. guilt swarmed your entire being. "i— i'm sorry, for ignoring you and for-" you sighed heavily, looking away while you fought back the burning in your irises. "for everything that happened." the wet, open mouthed kiss that made you forget jesus' name. "and i'm sorry but it's not gonna work." you were shrinking in on yourself, in your very own arms with a sad puppy look in your eyes, you bit down harshly on your bottom lip.
ellie watched you intently, arms to her eyes as she studied your own feeble ones, doing a rather shitty attempt at covering your body. "funny." she scoffed, eyes never leaving your own glasses over ones that couldn't seem to gaze into hers. "you were pretty sure it wasn't gonna happen before you kissed me too." eyes as wide as saucers, you swiftly turned your head around, worried someone may hear. you couldn't even begin to imagine what sort of reaction people would have to know that the pastors daughter had kissed a girl. "you wanna know what i think?" stepping closer to you as your breath caught in your throat, no you didn't want to know what she thought of the situation as you'd much rather there be no situation at all. "i think you're a liar." you swallowed harshly, mumbling a sheer 'stop' as she walked closer towards you. and yet, you made no movement to step back. "you liked everything about that night, admit it." her voice dropped as the dark clouds surrounded the sky seemed even darker, heavier. there was a sudden change in the atmosphere, one in which almost made you think a thunder storm was on it's way. "you wanted my lips on yours, to feel me against you, to soothe that ache between—"
she was caught off abruptly by you, who hadn't uttered a word but instead shot your hand forward instantly, shoving it over her mouth so she couldn't continue her sentence. upon shoving your hand on her mouth, you had Accidentally pushed her, she took the opportunity to seize your upper arms. she all but threw herself backwards, bringing you with her. her back hit the wall, you stood in front of her, eyes wide and breath picking up as your hand stayed on her lips, her hands on your arms.
you made a noise, one that told you and her that you didn't wish to move but you felt as though you simply had to. and she could understand, to a certain extent she supposed. you were good girl y/n who could never do any wrong, something about someone spotting you with her, the delinquent ellie williams, pressing her against a wall, was absolutely teeth rottingly addictive. she wanted someone to turn the corner, she wanted people to see, to know that the precious gem of the town y/n l/n was all hers and no one could do anything about it.
your breath slowed and your eyes racked over every perfect imperfection dotted on her face. her freckles looked lighter in this lighting and though you were a great deal smaller than her, your hand wound around the bottom half of her face easily. your chest heaved, as did hers and you could feel it. when she had practically thrown herself backwards she had let you stumble so far that you were chest to chest and horrendously flustered.
ellie however, seemed to be enjoying herself. you couldn't see her lips but you could feel her pretty smirk against the skin of your dainty hands, the way her brows relaxed and her sage eyes gave you this drunk look. to her, she did feel drunk, she was drunk off of you, your innocence, purity, kindness, your big bad secret that only she knew.
you blinked when you felt her hand against your face, though you didn't flinch nor recoil away, she saw that as a good sign. her tattooed arm was raised, hand slowly brushing against your soft skin. her thumb trailed across your cheek and towards your lips, dragging it against your pretty skin, you almost gasped out. you weren't doing this again, you couldn't.
the gentle yet sudden patter of raindrops against your head caused you to instantly pull away. "I— i have to go." you almost spat out in sheer panic. and for the second time, you ran away. but this time, ellie didn't call your name or run a hand through her hair with stress evident on her face, no.
ellie leaned against the wall, watching as you all but sprinted away from her, your pretty dress bouncing against the back of your legs, she wondered what color the fabric that sat beneath the dress was. she had this smirk on her face, one that you of course would have wished to wipe off more than anything but how couldn't she? she had seen that look in your eye, that unfamiliar lust filling your pretty irises as you raked your eyes over her face. the slight confusion to why you had felt this way and yet everything about you seemed so comforted by her and yet so so tense. she knew then and there that it was not over.
ellie still had a chance to change your mind.
"is daddy gonna go after church?" you questioned to your sister as you held the church baskets you had been cleaning close in your hands. it been three days since you spoke with ellie, it was a saturday, and it was the day that your sister and her school year had their parent teacher meetings. you were lucky, you had them at the very start of the year.
"yeah." she stomped on the cigarette and waited for it to grow damp in the soil. "said he's gonna bring mom too." this caused you to furrow your brows as you continued on your journey.
"but mama never goes to those things?" your mind couldn't stand the thought of ellie williams, how you had caved so easily. she had gotten so close to what she wanted and you couldn't let that happen. however, after three days of no contact, she no longer seemed to be around when you were, you supposed she had gotten the hint. you were relieved, to say the least and had repented for whatever sins you could that past week, however you couldn't stop that burning chest in your feeling when you thought of her. you wondered, what she thinking about you too?
your sister tsked. "yeah but they wanna get sympathy for having such a screw up of a daughter." she spoke with an almost sarcastic tone. "best way to do that is to talk to my teachers about how hard it is to raise me."
you gave her sympathetic eyes as you pushed the church doors open, mass would be starting any minute now. you were never late to mass, unless of course you walked with ashley, it happened to be one of those days. "you're not a screw up, ash." she gave you a ghost of a smile one that did not quite reach her eyes.
"thanks loser, 'ppreciate it." some said you were daises and the sun, and ashley was only orchids and the moon, a beautiful combination that never failed to amuse anyone. i mean, wouldn't it look odd? to see a girl with dark hair and hot pink highlights, chains on her jeans, her nails always painted black whether they were full or chipped, some form of polish always coating them. and then there was you, pretty natural hair sitting on your shoulders and always in a dress or a skirt, only wearing bright colors. you wore little to no makeup, not because you weren't allowed but because you simply weren't good at it. so, you opted for a natural face while your sister always had some form of eyeshadow on, her waterlines filled in black. "woah, what the fuck are you doing here?" you furrowed your brows at your sister, who was looking right over you. spinning around, you were not ready for the sight you were met with.
ellie williams cleaned up nicely when she wanted to.
she wore a brown button up and a jeans, her hair was freshly cut and her tattoo was on show. you had seen it before, of course, from the many short sleeves she wore around you however it had never been on display in front of your parents let alone in the church. speaking of which, she never came to church either. after the first night ellie had been begged to go to church with ashley, she swore off it, first, she almost dropped the baby jesus in which had been passed to her by ashley, then she had to shake a bunch of old women's hands during mass and was sat next to some kid who wouldn't stop touching her feet as they crawled around the kneeler, then she realised she couldn't even get a good view of you, the main reason she had stayed through the entire mass, because some old bald man had sat in front of her and stood too tall. she didn't go to church because she didn't believe in god too, that was a main factor she supposed. she shouldn't be here, you thought. not because she didn't deserve the right to worship the lord but because you knew by the way her eyes raked up your body that she was not here for a mass ceremony. "what? too late to get into heaven?" she shot you a glance, almost one of accusation. the truth was, you didn't think you were going to hell, how could you when you did just about everything for god himself. in fact, you were sure you were more religious than your father. but the bible was outdated, that was the reason there was a new testament. god wasn't going to punish you for feeling how you felt because if the story of god was true, he made you with every perfect imperfection, not that you'd exactly call such a thing an imperfection. sometimes, you wondered if your father truly believed that being gay was wrong because of god or if he was just hiding behind such a fact because he was scared that he truly didn't have a reason not to like someone for being such a way. "sweetheart." a smirk dancing on her lips as she nodded her head at you. yeah, she definitely did not get the hint.
you turned to your sister with a small huff. "could you put these by the benches, please?" she nodded, taking the baskets from your hands. "thank you." and you turned back to ellie williams. "you have mud on your nose." watching as her face scrunched up and her hand came up to wipe it away, her long fingers stretching— you shook your head free of the thoughts before scrambling up to the alter to get into the sacristy.
when mass started, you did everything in your power to avert your eyes from ellie williams, sitting so smugly in the audience. she knew what she was doing, spreading her legs apart with her elbows resting towards her knees, her eyes never left your face.
you, however, looked straight forward with your tight chest and mumbling words from time to time. you pretended to be interested in the sheet you were holding, following along the words in your mind as your father read them out from the top of the alter. he read smoothly, not a stutter in his voice. you longed to have such confidence, to not shake like a leaf when presenting a project, to have the confidence to look ellie fucking williams in the eye and not shy away, to have the confidence to admit it even if it was just in your mind that you felt the way you weren't supposed to. you liked the forbidden fruit. the words formed so clearly in your mind. i like gi— "and now may we rise for the holy communion." giving out holy bread, your eyes concentrated back on the task, that was you're job. well, you and three other people.
you all but scrambled towards the bowel in which held the holy bread, grasping it and going to the right of the alter, ashley went to the left and two of the church boys went to the middle, all with your own holy bread dishes. ashley was rolling her eyes, mumbling the words under her breath. one of the older women came up to her, instead of holding out their hands they opened their mouth, her eyes went wide and she turned towards you, giving you both a shocked and disgusted look. you gave her a warning look, gesturing towards your father who was watching her like a hawk. she grimaced before placing it inside the womans mouth.
giggling to yourself, you turned back with a grin on your face. it dropped suddenly at the sight of ellie williams standing in front of you, looking as innocent as ever (not). you gave her a stern look, as if to tell her stop playing her little games and especially here of all places. "body of christ." you mumbled beneath your breath as your hand moved towards the bowel once more, picking up a rounded piece of holy bread.
"amen." she said the word in the cockiest tone you had ever heard in your entire life. but you fought back an eye roll, instead you just held it up, ready to place it in her left hand, the idiot would probably hold out the right hand instead. you internally groaned, ready for her to show just how much she respects the religion. your expression blanked as she opened her mouth, sticking out her tongue. your breath stuttered, in front of everyone. no one was looking, no one cared. and yet you felt as though you were on stage with an enlarged audience.
your hand wobbled. "what are you doing?" you whispered to her, noticing how people were conversing, not bothering to glance at who was receiving holy bread and your father was too focused on ashley to so much as glance your way.
she smirked, closing her mouth momentarily. "getting my holy bread." she spoke as if it were painfully obvious. opening her mouth again, she flattened her tongue across her bottom lip, you pretended your chest didn't clench and neither did your thighs. you could imagine that tongue doing a painfully soft attack against your neck, that was all you knew could happen with a tongue. ellie, however, had many other things in mind of just where she wanted her tongue when it came to you. it was humorous, how your sinful thoughts were still somewhat innocent but ellie's... ellie's thoughts were nothing short of the devil herself's thoughts feulling into her brain. you placed the holy bread against her tongue, ignoring the way it wet your thumb ever so slightly. she closed her lips, giving you a smug type of look. "thanks, angel." and you were left with clenched thighs, dusty cheeks, flustered head and a ditsy feeling. you glanced down at the small patch of saliva on your thumb and all you could think about was that night.
"i— i think you should go." but you didn't want her to go, you really didn't want her to go.
"you wan't me here?" as a wet kiss came down to the skin of your neck, you gasped out, blinking. this was a dream, it had to be. you felt almost euphoric as her lips flattened against the crook of your neck, the way they kissed you so delicately as if you were made of glass. she moved her head back up almost instantly, as if her own actions weren't affecting her. her lips brushed against your own, so closely that you could taste her. "or here?"
you weren't proud of what you did next.
you didn't pull away nor make any attempts to get away, in fact, you reached your face up to meet her own. her face crashed down rather swiftly, so fast that you could barely register the way her lips rammed right into your own.
you had never kissed anyone before, never even thought of so aside from her. you breathed heavily, she swallowed your heaves and gasps into her own mouth, she pushed a hand up to hold your neck in place the other steady on your hip as her tongue pressed against your bottom lip.
this euphoric feeling hit you like a tonne of bricks, you suddenly felt that nothing was impossible, that this life for you was somewhat of an option. but it wasn't because euphoria doesn't last forever, it can't because there needs to be something to cancel it out so you get to feel that way. otherwise, wouldn't euphoria feel normal? that would mean that bad was despair and good simply wasn't enough. but this. this was too much.
you pulled away harshly, tears coating the glass of your eyes. " 'm sorry— 'm sorry i can't." and you ran. you ran out of the kitchen, up the stairs and right into your bedroom. you could still see that look of heartbreak on her face. you slid down the door, hand on your chest and knees bunched up. you were nothing short of an absolute idiot. you breathed heavily but this time there were no big soothing hands or the lulling that only ellie william's voice could control. you felt panic overcome you. you weren't gay. you couldn't be. and you certainly weren't falling for ellie williams.
oh, but you were, you were so desperately in love with her since the day you saw her and her stupid auburn hair or her stupid freckles, how about her stupid green eyes. stupid. stupid. stupid. but so lovely.
you sat inside your bedroom once more, fingers softly padding against your bottom lip. you were the stupid one, you were beginning to realise. it was just so hard. to love a girl so much and yet know that it was either her or everything you had ever worked for. that decision was already made, not by your father, your mother, your sister, ellie.... by you. you'd choose it over and over again.
you'd choose her.
a bang on your window caused you to jump harshly, twisting your whole body towards your window, it was dark out but you could make out ellie williams lean figure from a mile away. however, she seemed a little more entangled now. she was kicking a wire off her foot, cursing so loudly that you could hear her from the inside of your bedroom. what on earth was she doing? ashley was at the parent teacher meeting with your mother and father so it was only you inside the bedroom, alone, well, you supposed you weren't alone when you had the dits of a girl outside your bedroom window. "fuck! ow, ow!" as she almost face planted against your window. you had enough. you stood and rapidly scrambled towards the window, pulling it open and it seemed as though the girl hadn't been expecting it because she fell straight through it. "fuck, oh, that worked." she stood instantly, brushing off her jeans. she hadn't changed since the church, you, however, were already dressed in your silkiest pijamas. "hey, hello..." panting before straining her eyes back on you, she relaxed, a lazy smile on her face. "hi."
you almost laughed. almost. "do you know what time it is, ellie?" but you didn't seem mad, not by the way you shut the window for her to stay and took a seat on your window bench. she shook her head, eyes glancing around your childish yet pretty bedroom, right, she had never been in there. you silently cursed the stuffed animals sitting on your bed. her eye caught them and grinned. "aren't you supposed to be at the parent teacher meeting?"
"Oh, that shitty thing? hell no, joel already knows what a pain in his ass i am, he doesn't need to hear another ten people complain about it." waving her hand as she leaned against your dresses, glancing at the perfumes that drove her crazy whenever she passed you. "so... this is your bedroom."
she was stalling. "els?" she glanced up at the familliar nickname rolling from your lips. "what are you doing here?" she didn't respond and you fiddled with one of the stuffed animals that sat on your bench. "i don't think you should come back to the church, ellie?"
"why? because i'm gay?" as if it were an accusation, right at the fact that you too, somewhere deep inside you could admit, that you too shared the liking towards girls. and hey, you were the most popular church girl in all of your town. so why did sexuality have to define religion? short answer, it didn't, ellie knew you knew so too but she needed to know the truth, if her stares truly made you as nervous as yours made hers. she needed to know how you felt and what part she played in that.
you cocked your head to the side."no, ellie, because you're not there to 'get into heaven'." repeating her previous words back to her with a small scowl attached to your face. she wasn't there for god nor was she there for jesus. she was there for you. as much as you hated to admit it. it sounded absurd, something you never would have guessed. someone coming to church for you? it was surreal, even more so fact that she was a girl.
she tilted her head. "really? says who?" teasing. because that was just what ellie williams did best.
"ellie..." you trailed off, trying to find your words. the way her eyes raked up your body could only leave you standing silly. she knew the effect she had on you and she did it anyway, in fact, you were beginning to think that she did it because of the effect it had on you. "you don't believe in god." putting it in the most simple form you possibly could. not relating yourself. that alone was dangerous.
"no. but i believe in you." your eyes looked up. "if you're there. i'm there." your heart melted. you were on very dangerous ice ready to collapse at any second.
standing from the bench. "ellie—" she was quick to cut you off and for that you would be forever grateful.
"no." she shook her head. "i'm sorry, but we're not doing this again." she stepped closer, inching her way towards you. you could only breathe in, a sigh that you knew was coming, you knew this was coming.
and for the first time... you were ready. "okay." she inched impossibly closer. "but ellie..." you trailed off. "you have to know that if we start this— i- i won't be able to stop." god was going to punish you for this one.
"good." her hand was suddenly on your face, slowly tracing around your soft skin. "because i don't plan on stopping anytime soon, either." she leaned her face in closer, her breathe bore into your own, your head tilted up to meet hers.
this time, panic wasn't running through you, you had accepted your fate, the fact that you couldn't get away from ellie even if you tried because whether you liked it or not, you were so madly in love with your sisters best friend and that wasn't going to change, no matter how many times you sat at your bed on your knees, hands bound together and praying to god that he got rid of these feelings.
"y/n..." face so close you could feel her nose tip against yours.
you hummed, lips grazing.
" 'm gonna kiss you now." she mumbled.
"okay." you breathed.

Summary: As the eldest daughter of the Prime Minister and one of the faces of the family, you received multiple assassination attempts. So, your father hired someone to keep an eye on you. And to your surprise, out of all people, it was Leon Kennedy your father picked for you. You and Leon had a secret relationship but soon did not last because another woman came into his life. Now that the both of you meet again, will it be the start of chaos or a continuation of romance?
author's note: This is the fourth part of my story. This story is entirely fictional. I do not know what the President and the Prime Minister exactly do for the country. Same with the occupation of being a prosecutor and the chief of the CIA. English is not my mother tongue so pardon if you encounter mistakes and grammatical errors. This is only for entertainment purposes only. And minors, please do your homework first. additional note: I think this is considered as part of Kinktober. To my babies, mga anak, and so on, this is it! Enjoy!
         It was midnight when you and Leon made it to your secret place— an apartment unit you bought without your father or even your brothers knowing. The whole ride was filled with sexual tension that he almost stopped on the side of the road just to make out with you. But you tamed his urge by holding his hand.
            And the moment you stepped your foot inside your territory, Leon pulled you into a passionate kiss. You yelped at how sudden his movements were but the fact that you wanted this makes you hate him even more for making you feel this way. Like, his kiss was full of passion. He was proving how much he missed having a connection with you in a passionate way.
        Comparing it to the kisses you both shared when the two of you were younger, this is way better than quick kisses. And when his tongue slipped into your mouth, you moaned in bliss because damn, it feels so good. The room was dimmed, only the light of the lamp and the city lights stood as your light.
“My sweet, sweet Y/n…” He whispered as he pulled away, giving you time to breathe.
           You cupped his cheeks and looked deeply into his eyes. His eyes are filled with lust and passion. He needs you, you need him too. There’s no point of denying yourself to him. You admitted to yourself on the cliff that you still love him. And on his side, he always loved you even though fifteen passed, hiding behind shadows to keep an eye on you.
          Pressing your foreheads together, Leon whispers, “Let’s be that perfect couple everyone hates.” You chuckled and replied, “How does everyone hate us when we become a couple again?”
“David will hate you for choosing me instead of him when your marriage is already settled. He will hate me for stealing his girl but wait, have you ever become his anyway?” You chuckled at his response, pulling away from him.
“Tell that to him and he’ll pull out his trump cards. You’re taking the woman that was supposed to marry the Senator’s son. As if my father, the Senate President, or even the President will let you do that.” You said, heading to the kitchen counter and poured yourself a glass of wine and drink.
“The President is on my side. Actually, two years after saving Ashley, he asked me to marry his daughter.” The revelation made you choke on your drink and cough. You looked at him with ‘what the fuck?’ expression.
              Leon chuckled and approached you, crossing his arms on his chest.
“Of course, I declined. I know that marrying the President’s daughter is a big opportunity. But I am not that thirsty for power. Back to my point, I bet your father, the Prime Minister will go on a rampage when he finds out that his only daughter is breaking his rules and having an affair with her bodyguard.”
“Unless…” You paused, looking at Leon. He looked at you with a raised eyebrow. “Unless what, sweetheart?”
“Unless, we’ll give him an heir.” Leon looked at you for a few seconds until he realized what you were talking about. “A heir that will keep and continue the legacy of the family.” You added, taking another sip of your wine.
              The man was silent after that. He was thinking how life will change for the both of you when a baby comes into your lives. A baby, whether it was a boy or a girl, will be the successor of the L/n-Kennedy bloodline. The feud will be over once a baby is formed into your womb. You know that your father will never have a heart to demand to abort the child because it’s also his flesh and blood. For your family that came from a wealthy and well-known ancestry, killing a child that was supposed to be the next-in-line of succession is a disgrace and disrespectful act.
“You mean…” Leon muttered, moving closer to you and wrapped his one arm around your shoulders while his other hand went to your lower stomach. “I’ll release my seeds here and put my baby into your womb?” He was grinning which caused you to giggle.
“Want me to make you a daddy?” You asked too. He laughed and pecked your lips.
“Yeah. Let’s start tonight.” He muttered seductively.
             And there you found yourself in your bedroom. Leon liked how dark your bedroom was. Leon helped you remove your hair accessories and undo your hair. It was wavy and he grabbed your hair brush to run it against your hair. His touch was gentle and he inhaled the scent of your hair, driving him crazy. You chuckled and turned around facing him.
“I hate to admit this but…” You paused, reaching for his vest, unbuckling and removing them before undoing the buttons of his shirt. “I want to become a mommy now. I am already thirty-three and according to my friend, who’s a doctor, I might have some difficulties getting pregnant at this age.”
“I’ve heard about that too. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you’ll carry my baby to a healthy and safe pregnancy.” He assures you and you remove his shirt completely, letting it fall to the floor. “But please help yourself as I help you.” He added.
“Of course, I will take care of our baby in my womb until the day has come for him to be delivered.” You smiled, touching his toned chest down to his abs. Leon smiled and kissed your forehead.
“You have been so cold to me ever since I was hired to be your bodyguard and now I’m going to put a baby into your womb. That escalated really quickly.”
“That’s why I hate you.”
               Leon tilted his head and kissed your lips. You kissed him back and you felt his hands unzipped your dress before pulling it down until it cools down around your feet, leaving you in your pretty pair of black underwear. His pupils dilated, seeing you almost naked. His eyes were filled with hunger as his gaze trailed down from your face down to your legs.
             Your chest is heaving as your heart beats so fast as Leon carries you to the bed. Slowly, Leon crawled on top of you. His lower half is between your thighs while his upper body is hovering on yours. You cupped his cheeks and pulled him into a deep kiss. Despite the cool temperature of the room, you both feel hot as the sexual tension gets higher and higher.
“Do you really want me to make you a mommy?” He whispered seductively. You hummed and nodded your head but your response for him wasn't enough. “Words, darling.” He added.
“Want me to beg?” You asked. He growled and grind himself against your clothed core where you can feel the bulge on his pants. “Don’t speak to me like that. Remember, you are not the in-charge here but me.”
            His husky voice made you moan. Calloused hands caress your belly as he hummed against your ear with a smirk plastered on his face. “Imagine, after 9 months of pregnancy… you’ll give birth to my baby. They will call you ‘mommy’ and they will call me ‘daddy’.”
            You squirmed under his touch and his left hand went south, sneaking inside your panties and touching your dripping pussy. “Leon– kyah!” You squealed as his fingers massaged your pussy lips and gently rubbed your clit. He nibbled your earlobe and he continued touching the wet core.
“Let’s take this off, shall we?” He sat on his knees and hooked his fingers on the garter of your panties before pulling it down. “Ass up.” He ordered and you obliged. He continued pulling down your underwear until it was completely out of your legs.
            Leon tossed it to the floor before bending your knees and pushed them apart, exposing your wet pussy. He grinned and touched it with his index finger, humming at how slick and wet you are. “Hear how wet your pussy, darling? I made this mess, didn’t I?” He chuckled.
           He gently played with your clit, using your arousal to lubricate your nub. “Such a pretty, tasty-looking pussy. Mind if I have a taste?” And without hesitation, he stuck out his tongue and licked your pussy upwards, causing you to jolt.
“L-Leon…” You muttered. Leon held your thighs apart firmly as he savored your cunt, slurping your juices and teasing your clit with his tongue.
              He would hum in satisfaction and delve deeper, burying his face between your thigh as he eats your pussy like it was his last meal before his death sentence. Knowing how sensitive you are, he took that advantage by licking and sucking your clit as he slipped his middle finger into your drooling hole.
“Oh my God! Leon— fuck!” You curse as your chest heaves up and down as you catch your breath. You reached for his hair and gripped on it. Leon looked at you and he felt satisfied, seeing your reaction as you moan.
“Don’t be too— ahh! I’m sensitive.” You babble.
“This will not be the first time we’ll have this kind of fun so better expect me to overstimulate you.” He replied, rubbing your clit with his thumb, sending you pleasure that your legs trembled. You wanted to close your legs as he stimulated your nub while his finger continuously went in and out of your hole.
              You arched your back and held onto his arm, digging your nails against his skin. A knot formed in your stomach and felt yourself getting closer to the edge. Leon was smirking, obviously enjoying the sight of you squirming on his touch.
“Cumming, aren’t you, sweetheart? Go ahead. Chase your orgasm, I’ll help you out.”
            Leon pulled his finger out of your hole and increased the intensity on your clit, getting you closer to your end. And just when you are about to be released, he stops and pulls away causing you to whine. “Oh, come on!” He chuckled, seeing you close your legs and feel the almost euphoric moment.
“Beg,” He demanded. “I want to see if you truly deserve to cum.”
“Please, daddy! I’ll be good! I promise that I’ll obey and be a good girl to you. Just don’t ruin my orgasm. I-I wanna cum!” You whined, tears filling up your eyes. His cock stiffen in his pants and your beg just snapped at him. So, he started rubbing your clit again with more intensity, bringing you back closely to your orgasm.
“That’s my girl, so very good.” He huskily said, collecting your arousal and used it to lubricate your clit.
“I’m cumming! Leon, I’m cumming!” You moaned loudly as your legs trembled once more. He buried his face between your legs and replaced his thumb with his tongue, sucking and licking your clit that caused you to scream and cum on his mouth.
            You closed your trembling legs as he still ate you out. He did not stop enjoying your nectar. It drives him crazy and he craves for more. His cock went even harder in his pants, desperate to be free to feel a mind-blowing experience like his mouth had. Leon remembered that this is not the only exciting moment he will experience tonight. So, he pulled away from your pussy with his lips, chin, and some part of his cheeks are wet  due to your juices.
               He wiped it off with the back of his hand before unbuckling his belt and undoing his pants before pulling them down with his boxers and removing it completely and tossed it to the floor. You closed your eyes but his hand caressed your thigh.
“Seeing it is included when a couple is about to make love. Whether you like it or not, it’s part of the human body that is going to be exposed with its partner.”
“No, it’s not that.” You replied.
“Then, what do you mean?” He asked.
“It’s just that it's way bigger than I saw before. You were not that big when I saw that accidentally.”
               Remembering what you are talking about, he let out a giggle and slapped your thigh playfully. You laughed in return, remembering your funny, embarrassing moment with him back then. It was when you entered the bathroom without knowing that he was inside, taking a bath so yeah. You saw his cock already. He was not that small or not that big. Just average, because he was young at that time as he was still in the police academy.
               But right now, kneeling in front of you is the same man you love but now with a huge cock and was going to rail the shit out of you tonight. Thanks to the dark room you guys were in. He’s not able to see the blush forming on your cheeks.
“You know, I find it unfair to be this hard but do not get something from you in return after giving you a satisfying orgasm.” He started. Knowing what he meant, you sat up and kissed his lower stomach just right above his bulbous tip.
“What do you want me to do? Return the favor?” You asked, batting your eyelashes to him with a teasing look. “Well, I don’t mind.” You added.
               Leon feels proud seeing you being confident with yourself. You held his huge cock and jerked it, causing him to groan and bite his lip. “Don’t keep me waiting, sweetheart. I am not a patient man.” He muttered. You chuckled and looked at him.
“Chill, darling.” You paused and licked his tip that made him hold his breath as he felt your tongue touch his red tip. “Patience is a virtue.” He growled and opened your mouth before slipping his huge cock into your mouth, letting out a deep moan as he felt the warmth of your mouth.
“Patience, huh? Let’s see if you still could talk back to me.” Then he started thrusting his hips back and forth. Because of his huge size, you struggle to breathe and often choke or gag when his tip reaches the deep portion of your mouth.
               Leon waited so long and now his dirty dreams are finally coming true. He moaned in bliss, closing his eyes with his head thrown back in pleasure. “Sweetheart, your mouth feels so good!” He praised, continuously moaning. You held on his thighs to support yourself due to his faster pace.
             Leon pulled out of your mouth and jerked his cock that was coated with saliva and arousal while his other hand was gripping on your hair. “Come on, darling. Show me what you got.” He challenged you. You rolled our eyes and scoffed before taking his cock back into your mouth and showing him your ability.
              He moaned in satisfaction as you took over the job, proving to him that you’re better than he imagined. Your tongue is having contact with his cock, touching the veins that send him pleasure. You were so beyond his expectations.
“Just like that! Suck my cock and take it like a good girl!” He moaned, throwing his head back. His praises made you even more wet until you felt his cock start to twitch and his body shudder.
“Don’t stop! I’ll cum in your mouth, you hear me? I’ll spill my kids into your mouth first before spilling the others inside your womb.” He moaned and you helped him reach his orgasm by sucking him even better than before.
“Your mouth feels so good, sweetheart! I can’t believe that I am— gonna cum!” He yelled and growled, spilling his hot, slimy essence down to your throat.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, oh fuck!” He exclaimed in pure bliss and ecstasy. It took him a few minutes to calm himself from a mind-blowing blowjob he experienced.
             He was even more impressed when he saw you swallowing his seeds. “So pretty for me…” He whispered and gently pushed you down against the soft mattress and hovered over you. “Are you ready, mommy?” You nodded at his question.
          Leon spread your legs open, rubbing your clit in circles with your arousal. “Here I go,” He said before aligning his cock into your aching hole. Your heart was beating in anticipation. Leon held your waist before plunging his tip into you. Your eyes widened and gasped in shock.
“L-Leon!” You whined and Leon grabbed your wrist and put your hand on his shoulder, kissing them.
“Shhh, it’s alright. I’ll be gentle, I promise. Just hold onto me, darling.” He hushed you. The feeling was so overwhelming that you can’t help but sob. “Leon, it hurts!” You whined as he pushed himself deeper, penetrating your walls.
              Leon was in bliss and groaned when your walls clenched around him. “Fuck, so tight!” He moaned as he went in deeper with such care. You keep your eyes closed, biting on your left hand while your right hand is holding on his shoulder. “Look at me, Y/n. Come on, baby.” He comforts you.
             Through your tears, you looked at him and he leaned down to kiss your lips. “The pain will be gone soon, I promise. Don’t cry, my love. I’m here.” He whispered and kissed you passionately. Soon, the pain was put aside. Leon knows it the way you squirm underneath his touch. Your walls kept clenching around his girth causing him to grunt.
“Fucking hell, pussy’s so tight!” He breathed out. “Are you ready, my love?”
            You nodded your head in response. Leon held your waist and slowly moved his hips against your. He was gentle and careful with his movements. This night was supposed to be romantic and filled with pleasure. That's why he’s refraining himself from being rough with you when you’re still in a vulnerable state.
“Oh my God, so huge!” You whined as you felt his huge length being inserted and withdrawn from your pussy. “I did not expect that my virginity would be taken by the same man who hurt me.” Leon scoffed at your comment.
“But the man who hurt you is the one who will give you beautiful children. You still love that man because if you don’t, you wouldn’t let him take you under him and take your virginity.” He seductively whispered to your ear.
             Soon, he started to go faster to your comfort. You looked him deeply into the eye as he held your thighs apart and shifted his position, reaching the deeper portion of your pussy. Leon smirked and grabbed your jaw to make you look at him firmly. “Tongue out,” He demanded and you obliged. He sucked your tongue and it turned into a sloppy kiss.
“Faster, please…” You whispered between kisses. Leon stopped for a moment, waiting for you to repeat your request. “I need more!” You whined and he smirked. “You need more? Then, beg for it. You can beg, right? Go ahead.”
“Please, daddy! Go faster, please! I need more of you. Please, I’ll take it like a good girl!”
             And that snapped Leon out of his senses. He started to go faster than before, sending you an overwhelming pleasure that caused you to arch your back. “Like this, darling?” Leon growled and you mewled in return.
           His tip was hitting on your cervix. Due to his huge length and girth, it feels like he’s splitting you in half. Moans, groans, and skin slappings resonated in the room. Leon was in bliss, shoving his cock in and out of your drooling hole and earning sinful moans from you. This is what he waited and wanted to do for fifteen years…
“Fifteen years, my love…” He muttered as he drilled himself deeper into you. “I waited for fifteen years to have you in my arms again. I fucking love you so much!” He whimpered.
          You are holding onto him for your dear life as his movements grew more intense and vigorous. You knew that this will be the last time you’ll have this intercourse with him. Oh, you just know it by just looking at this man who craves you badly. He’s determined to make you pregnant with his child, the key to ending the quarrel of both sides.
“Do you know how lucky you are to be the mother of my child?” He asked as he pulled you closer, hips continuously thrusting and out of you. “Make sure that you are not taking your pills, my darling or else there will be no Little Kennedy in your womb. Understood?”
“Ahhh~! Yes! My God, yes!” You wailed. A knot starts to form in your stomach and your legs tremble in pleasure. Leon knows that you’re close to reaching your orgasm so he puts more pressure by pressing his hand on your lower stomach. “Oh, my! Ahhh!” You cried out and he smirked, seeing you tearing up as he did so. You squirmed under his touch and tended to push him away but he put his weight onto you and held you down with your both legs on his both shoulders as he put you into the mating press.
“Leon, can’t hold it anymore! I need to cum!” You mewled and he groaned when your walls clenched around him. He keeps going until you let out a scream and squirt. Leon pulled out and rubbed your clit with his tip as your juices gushed out of your pussy.
           It stopped for a while and Leon pushed his cock back inside you. He made some few thrusts before having you squirt again, wetting his lower abdomen, some parts of his thighs, down to the bed. Leon pulled out and watched you burst out of you and jerked himself.
          You helped him off by replacing his hand and gripping on his length, moving your hand up and down as his tip poked in and out of its skin. His cock was twitching and you can tell that he’s about to cum too. “Proceed, my love. Jerk me off. I’ll tell you when I am coming.”
          In return, Leon slipped his middle finger and ring finger inside your soppy cunt thrusting them in and out. It makes squelching and wet sounds as he fingered you, touching the spongy spot that caused you to jolt and squeal. You glared at him while holding his wrist with your free hand while continuously jerking him off with the other.
“What? I’m just returning the favor.” He smirked and curled his fingers inside you and hit the right spot that you squirted again on his hand. As releasing your juices, he withdrew his fingers and rubbed your clit again. “Darling, it’s good to keep stimulating your clit. It makes me want you more.”
           As revenge, you quickened your jerking pace and he moaned and he held your wrist. Thinking that you are overstimulating him, you smirked but he grabbed your other hand and led it towards down his balls, letting you massage them. He moaned and threw his head back in pleasure. “Keep doing that.” He muttered. Soon, his cock became harder and started twitching. You took this as a sign and you fastened your face.
“Yes, yes, yes! Oh, fuck! Yes!” He growled and removed your hands before slamming his cock back deep into your pussy and his seeds spurted out of his tip, filling you up.
           You closed your eyes and let your head down on the pillow as he filled you up. He cums a lot that some of them started flowing out of you. “Fuck, it feels so good…” You breathed out. He chuckled before leaning in and kissed your lips softly before pulling out. He crawled on top of you until his cock was right in front of your face.
“Open up,” He demanded. You opened your mouth and the last drops of his cums landed on your tongue. He squeezed himself and when it was all empty, he tapped the tip against your lips and you sucked it clean.
“That’s my girl.” He said before placing himself between your thighs again.
              Leon watches a stream of his cum running out of you. You look so beautiful. He lowered his head between your legs and stuck out his tongue and gave your clit a small kitten licks. Some of his cums that are flowing out of you caught by his tongue and he used it to lubricate your swollen nub.
             You closed your eyes and bit your finger while your other hand was gripping on his hair. Your legs were on his shoulder, toes curling in pleasure while your feet rub gently against his back. Leon collected his cum on his fingers and pushed it back inside you and licked you for the last time before pulling away.
“Ready for round 2?” He asked and you nodded.
“Yeah…”
—
            Leon decided to change your positions. You are now on top of him while he is underneath you. Leon held your waist and guided your dripping entrance to his cock. When the tip was plunged inside, you moaned as you sat with his cock sliding inside of you.
“O-ow!” You whined and you felt him reach the deepest part of your pussy.
              You looked down and your eyes widened in shock when you saw a bulge formed in your lower stomach. You gasped and touched it with such care. Leon saw this and he couldn't help but grin. “Look at this masterpiece, honey. Feel how deep I reached, sweetheart?”
            You put your hands on  his chest to support your weight. “I feel numb.” You whispered.
“Aww, come here…” He cooed and wrapped your arms around his waist. He adjusted your position before thrusting his hips up and down inside your pussy.
            He doesn't mind if he does all the work. Your eyes are closed and your mouth is hanging open as sinful moans come out of it in every thrust he makes. Leon pistoned his hips and you jolted as his movements became rough and aggressive. Your moans sounds like you're having hiccups due to his fast movements.
“Let me suck those boobs of yours,” He growled and cupped one of your breasts and sucked your nipple. This adds more pleasure to you that you can’t stop moaning and whining. Leon sucked it like a hungry man before sucking the other one.
“Nipples are so soft. Our baby will definitely like it. Oh, I am gonna be so jealous that he gets to be breastfeed by his beautiful mother everyday, having her nipple into his mouth and suck her milk.” He chuckled and kissed your cleavage.
“Your breasts will be even bigger when they start carrying milk for our child. Expect me already that I will fondle and suck them especially when you lactate.”
              You moaned even more in overwhelming pleasure. Both of you were still overstimulated earlier that’s why your orgasm builds up quicker than the previous ones. You feel yourself getting closer and closer to your climax as you feel his cock twitch and both of you are trembling.
“Are you ready to become a mommy? Oh, my sweet Y/n… I am going to marry you. I wouldn’t want to give this child a life with unmarried parents. It would be better for him to legitimately carry my name.” He said between moans.
“Fuck, I’m cumming! Cumming!” You cried as your legs trembled and you quiver.
“You’ll be so beautiful, having your belly big and round as my child grows inside. My, my, my, I can’t wait to see our beautiful child together. We’ll welcome him into this world together and we’ll give him the best life away from bioterrorism.”
“Leon, I can’t—” You were interrupted as he kissed you. You couldn’t help yourself anymore so you released your orgasm, your body jolting as you do so. Your walls suffocated his cock inside you and he did not stop.
          He kept going and going until he couldn’t hold himself anymore.
“Take it, take it, take it! Oh, fuck, I’m cumming!” He moaned loudly and spurted his cum deep inside you. You feel so full and your energy is drained. You collapsed on top of him and caught your breath.
“I love you…” You whispered. Leon heard it and giggled.
“”I love you too…”
             Leon pulled himself out of you. Like the previous one, you are dripping with his cum. He grabbed his phone and took a photo. You did not complain or remorse. You just let him be. Because the mattress was wet, Leon carried you to the room next to yours. There, you two laid down on the bed. Still naked, but covered in a blanket to keep yourselves warm.
           You are looking outside through the window, admiring the city lights. Leon pulled you even closer to him and kissed your forehead. You closed your eyes and nuzzled him and pressed your lips together.
“This is not the last time we'll do this, right?” You asked.
“You know, it’s hot and sexy to try in different places.” He replied.
          You laughed and poked his nose.
“You naughty daddy…”

Can we get what it’d be like for y/n and Andrew dating in high school? I’d imagine that since Andrew is smart he’s always helping y/n with her homework and congratulations her when she passes, and they make out a LOT! Literally can’t keep their hands off each other and other high school things.
Yeah, sure! Sounds simple enough!
Tumblr media
High School Sweethearts | Andrew Graves x Reader
Andrew was your 💕boyyyyffrriiieeennnddd💕
Yes the hearts are necessary!
And by god he’s just the bestest boyfriend ever!
Like truly he is
He’s so sweet with you, helping you study and waiting outside your class to walk you to your next period
If you’ve gotten back a test that you were worried about, and you did good on it, he’d be more stoked about it than you
Your face? Peppered in congratulations kisses regardless if there are people around
He’s just so proud of you
You two are sickeningly cute
Sitting on Andrew’s lap during lunch time, carving around your initials on the bleachers, goodbye kisses when departing for your next class that get a liiitttlleee out of hand
The student body hates it <3
Truly there are no downsides to dating Andrew Graves!
You were seated on your exceptionally soft bed. The covers sinking a little to perfectly accommodate your weight and make you fit like a glove while you studied.
You had a pair of earbuds in, music blasting from them directly to your eardrums. You subconsciously tapped your pencil to the beat, hitting the notebook rhythmically. You- admittedly weren’t really studying. You got so distracted you couldn’t even read your notes without your eyes drifting to what you had drawn in the corner of the page.
Hearts. Lots of hearts. Big hearts, little hearts, good hearts, deformed hearts, hearts galore! All around one huge heart with a name inside of it that made you giddy.
Andrew Graves
Just reading his name made you squeal. Kicking your legs a little with glee as you thought about him. He was just such a good boyfriend! You two had begun dating in freshman year, so you couldn’t imagine your high school experience without him. He was always so nice with you, so loving. Very loving. By god that boy could not keep his hands off of you.
You felt your face flush at the thought, hiding it against your notebook. You felt so stupid for how he got you to be a blushing mess. He’d make fun of you for it too. You just- couldn’t help it! You’d never had anyone treat you like Andrew has. It felt wonderful…
Until something caught the corner of your eye. You lifted your head, attention being drawn to your bedroom window. Your family lived in a more suburban area, houses packed together like sardines. Your window, though small, gave you a look into the front yard and the sidewalk that divided what was your lawn and the road. It was normal for you to catch people walking past your window.
….but this late at night?
You set your notebook down, rising from your bed and hesitantly making your way to the window. The world felt like slow motion- like someone was watching your motions in a horror movie and yelling at you for being so stupid! But wouldn’t it be more stupid not to check? You tried to rationalize this in your head, it was probably just a late night jogger, or some kids who snuck out. You placed your hand on the window sill, finally turning your head and peer out the window and see…
Nothing. Nothing there. It was night, yes- but the street lights gave you enough light to see some of your yard. And it was empty.
You blinked. Paranoia. Yeah- that’s what it was. How long had you been….trying to study? You felt your stomach grumble in annoyance. Maybe some food will do you good.
Abandoning the window, you left your room to grab something to eat. Maybe you’d see if Andrew was still up so you could call him. That idea lightened your spirits. Yeah…you’ll do that.
….that was close.
Ashley was never more grateful how much of a dumb bitch you were. Though- it’s also part of her genius for wearing all black. Truly not coincidence cause she always wears black, it was her planning ahead!
Ashley stepped out of the gangly bush, kicking the leaves off of her shoe in frustration. Her pink eyes focused in on your window though, from what she could see- you weren’t on your bed again. In fact you weren’t even in the room. She scowled, wanting to give you more of a scare, but it was getting late. Maybe next time she’ll toss a brick through your window, or cover a knife in strawberry jam and leave it on your doorstep. Anything to give you a fright.
Anything to scare you away.

*****
one - two months
“Jack, are you sure about this?” Ashley asks, fiddling with the silver rings on her fingers.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” He responds confidently, sparing a look at her from the drivers seat before turning his eyes back on the road. “Everyone’s expecting you.”
“You told them?”
“That my girlfriend was coming with me to a New Year’s party? Of course.” He squeezes her thigh lightly. “They’re excited to meet you. And not while we’re working.”
“I’m excited to meet them too.”
“You sure?” He teases lightly. “You’ve been quiet all afternoon.”
“Yeah, yeah. Sorry.”
“Nothing to be sorry about.” They stop at a red light, and he leans over to kiss her cheek. “Ash, baby, they’re gonna love you.”
“But you don’t know that,” she protests softly.
“I do, actually. Because everyone loves you.”
She rolls her eyes. “You can’t promise me that everyone’s gonna even like me.”
He shrugs. “I’ll prove you wrong. You’ll see.” He tugs at her gold sweater. “Is this new?”
“Yeah. Seems fitting for the occasion. Sparkles equals New Years, right?”
“I like it a lot.”
“I know what you’re doing,” she deadpans.
He smirks. “And what might that be?”
“Distracting me.”
“Maybe so. You’re so smart, Miss Columbia Grad.”
“Jack,” she whines, making him laugh.
He picks up her hand and kisses the back of it. “Trust me, okay? It’ll be great. And I’ll be with you all night.”
Ashley swallows, before forcing herself to nod.
The thing is, after two months of dating officially (she’s not counting the month beforehand when there wasn’t a label on things even though there should’ve been), there are still important parts of each other’s lives they have yet to experience together. She’s gone to a few of his games, but has never met any of his teammates (except for Luke, but he doesn’t count), choosing to meet Jack back at his place after instead of waiting for him at the rink. She also doesn’t count that one Devils game she had to fill in for, which is how she met Jack in the first place. The few times he’s invited her along when he does go out with them, she’s been busy with other things.
New Year’s is kinda a big time to be meeting new people. People that mean a lot to Jack. But that could just also be all in Ashley’s head. She’s never really done this before. The last serious boyfriend she had was in high school where everyone knew each other. There was no need for introductions.
Jack squeezes her hand. “Thank you.”
“For?”
“Coming with me to this. Taking off work early. I appreciate it a lot.”
She shrugs casually. “It’s about time, right?” She pointedly ignores the look he shoots her, because she doesn’t want him to know how nervous she really is.
Before they know it, Jack’s pulled into the driveway of the Toffolis and her hands start sweating again. She gathers the flowers on her lap and the wine bag as Jack rounds the car and opens the door for her. He grabs the bag, presses a kiss atop her head and hand in hand, they walk to the front door. She lets Jack take the lead as he just walks in. They walk into the kitchen area, as Cat pulls her into a hug and thanks them graciously for the flowers and wine.
It turns out that Ashley really does have nothing to worry about. Getting thrown into a whirlwind of introductions and new names is a lot, but she doesn’t mind. A wave of comfort crashes over her as Luke practically hauls her into a hug.
She finds herself besides Nico after he hands her a glass of wine. “You’re a journalist, right?” He asks.
“I am.”
“Do you ever watch Jack’s media interviews?”
Ashley giggles. “I do once in awhile. Trust me, I have my thoughts. I also met him for the first time from that. And you, technically.”
“Right, right. Will we ever see you in the locker room again?”
“Probably not. I was just filling in for Danny. On the rare chance I do sports, it’s usually for the Jets. Besides, better to watch and support you all without any stake professionally.”
“What do you usually report on?” Nico asks with genuine curiosity.
She perks up, like anytime she gets to talk about her job. As she talks, using her hands animatedly despite one of them holding a drink, Jack looks on from a distance with a lovesick look in his eyes.
“She is way too cool for you,” Dawson says, fixing his cap.
Jack rolls his eyes. “Shut up.” But Jack knows his teammate’s right.
Jack’s not clingy, perse, but it’s hard for him to watch Ashley just…be and not be touching a part of her. Even if it’s just sliding up against her so her body is pressed alongside his, he just wants to be near her all the time.
(Quinn once sent some random thing he found on Instagram about love languages a few years back and Jack had remembered absolutely roasting him. But maybe he had a point)
“So,” Nicole starts, refilling both their glasses up with champagne a bit later in the evening. “Why Jack?”
Ashley snorts. “Your guess is as good as mine.” From beside his girlfriend, Jesper barks out a laugh and from next to Ashley, Jack pouts. Ashley laughs, leaning into Jack’s side. “I’m kidding. Mostly. I was hesitant at first though.”
“Oh, yeah. He told me about this,” Jesper says. “Said he chased you down the hall after post-game media and asked you out?”
“Sounds about right.”
“And you said yes to that?” Jesper asks. Jack whacks his teammate in the stomach.
“Not right away,” Ashley admits. “He gave me his number and told me to text him if I was interested. And I ended up being interested.”
“Lucky for him,” Nicole chuckles.
Jack squeezes Ashley’s waist fondly. “Lucky for me.”
She listens on in interest as Nicole talks about how she and Jesper got together. Somewhere throughout the conversation, she can’t help but let her mind drift. They’ve been together for years now, been living together for a bit and are looking to move into a house. She literally moved away from Sweden full-time for him.
Ashley swallows as Jack asks about how their house search is going. There’s a very little chance that Jack will be leaving Jersey anytime within the next half decade. But her mother warned her that his career could take him places in the future unexpectedly.
And in a way, so could Ashley’s. But it’s not as easy.
She scolds herself for even thinking this far. They’ve been dating for literally two months. That’s nothing in the grand scheme of things. They’re celebrating entering the new year today, but she has no idea if they’ll even be together for all of it.
She’s hoping they are. God, she really fucking hopes so. But she could hope until the end of the world and have it fall short. She smoothes her sweater out with her suddenly-clammy hands, chugging the whole glass of champagne before putting the flute down on a nearby table. She excuses herself politely to use the bathroom, which she does, before getting some air.
She definitely looks a bit crazy outside on the Toffoli’s porch in the dead of winter, but she doesn’t mind the biting edge of cold. It’s grounding her, actually.
“Was looking for you.”
Ashley doesn’t even look at Jack, humming as she hears him walking out to stand next to her. “Did my sparkle sweater give me away?”
“No, Neeks did, actually. Said he saw you walking out.” She finally looks at him with his eyebrows furrowed. “You’re not cold?”
“Don’t even think about offering me your jacket,” she warns. “I know you’re only wearing a t-shirt underneath.”
“Then come back inside so we both don’t die.”
“In a minute,” she promises.
He huffs, rubbing his hands up and down her arms to try and generate some heat. “Everything good?”
“Yeah, yeah.” Just, you know, minorly freaking out at her boyfriend’s teammate’s place about the fact that she might be falling in love with him even though it hasn’t been that long and what a future could look like for them and how that future could fall apart in an instant.
So regular New Year’s Eve thoughts.
“Unlike you, I don’t have a college degree, much less two,” Jack grins. “I can’t read minds.”
“And you think I can?” She jokes back weakly. He just chuckles. She continues. “Your friends are nice. I like them a lot.”
He lights up anytime someone he loves gets brought up in conversation. “Yeah, they’re cool. They like you too.”
“That’s good,” she says softly.
He taps her forehead with his pointer finger. “Countdown’s soon. Come back inside?” He laces their fingers together.
“You gonna kiss me at midnight?”
“Think so.”
“You only think so?”
Jack smirks, kissing her deeply. “Shut up.”
Ashley is absolutely floored.
two - one year and one month
Cam’s wedding crept up on her.
Of course, Ashley knew it was coming, but still. Though she was surprised when Jack told her that he was free of games on that particular early November weekend somehow, only having to miss an optional practice and that he would notify the coaching staff far in advance.
It’s not the act of bringing Jack that she’s nervous about. Cam and Amanda, his fiance, came into the city a few months ago and they all grabbed lunch before heading to a game at The Rock that night. She’ll never forget how ultimately “traitor-like to the Bruins” Cam felt, Ashley and Amanda finding it hilarious. They both had a good time though, and that’s all that matters, and Cam, who has always looked out for her even before she had ever asked, subtly gave his approval.
(“I’ll admit my assumptions about him were wrong,” Cam had said. “He’s awesome, and he really cares about you. If he’s the one, I won’t be mad about it. He’s very lucky.”)
It’s more of a particular person that’s going to be at the wedding.
Weirdly, when she and Alex broke up way back when, one of the thoughts that circled her mind months after was exactly this. If and when the day of Cam’s wedding came, and they were both still close to him, they’d both be there. And here they are.
She’s over him — obviously, considering she’s in a happy, long-term relationship and it’s been four years — but how do you prepare to see your ex-boyfriend when the last time you saw him you had just broken up and you were in tears?
She and Jack drive up to Cape Cod early the day of the wedding and she feels a bit bad that he’s driving after he had a game last night and has one in just two days but he doesn’t mind, happy to be driving as long as she’s in the passenger seat next to him. They’re switching off anyways, and she had driven the first half. Cam and Amanda rented out a bunch of rooms at a few inns for their guests so her and Jack will get ready there before heading to the venue.
From a quick rundown Cam gave her a month ago when they caught up over the phone, she’ll at least be familiar with a good amount of people at the wedding. She’s excited to see them all again and catch up, those memories that were bittersweet at some point, all water under the bridge so many years later.
It’s what you get for dating within a friend group. Ultimately, at some point, sides are chosen.
At the end of the day, it’s Cam, someone who has always been there for her since they were 16, even when she didn’t necessarily do the same. He’s given his friendship selflessly to her for over a decade. The least she can do is come to his wedding to celebrate.
And she has Jack with her. Nothing can go wrong with Jack by her side.
“You okay?” Jack’s voice breaks her out of her thoughts as he squeezes her thigh, sneaking a look before focusing back on the road. “You’re quiet. You’re rarely quiet in the car.”
“It’s a 5 hour drive, Jack.”
“I’ve been playing country nonstop for the last half an hour and you haven’t chirped me once.” She starts playing with his fingers and his eyebrows furrow. “Alright. What’s going on, baby? What are you thinking about?”
“You know what I’m thinking about.” She shoots back with no malice.
He sighs, linking their hands together and bringing them up to his lips to kiss her knuckles. “Yeah. I got you though. I’ll be with you the whole day.”
“It’s dumb, really. Four years. And I haven’t thought about him in a long time.”
He shrugs. “He was your first heartbreak, and you haven’t seen him since. This is gonna be some sort of closure, even if it’s four years later.”
“You seem awfully cool about this, considering, you know, your current girlfriend is lowkey freaking out about seeing her ex again.”
“I’m not worried,” he replies easily. “You need this closure. I wasn’t smart like you back then and actually saw my exes probably way sooner than I should’ve. Besides, I’m the one on your arm now. Not him. I’m not pressed.”
She scoffs at yet another country song playing and skips it, snorting when ‘Suburban Legends’ by Taylor Swift comes on. How fitting. “I’m definitely hyping it up in my head. It’s nothing. And Cam told me that he purposefully put us at separate tables, in case Alex says some questionable shit while drunk.”
“No worries about you saying anything questionable?”
“Compared to Alex? No way.” He snorts, amused. But he knows enough about his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend to not push it. “I wonder if he’s bringing someone. God, I hope he is.”
“Why? Don’t want to rub it in his face that you’re happy and in love?”
“That’s mean,” she says airily. “No. I hope he’s bringing someone because I want to know what kind of girl can tolerate his ass. I did, but I was 20 and stupid. I wanna see what kind of girl can tolerate him at 26.”
“Does he know I’m coming?”
“Cam?”
He snorts. “No. Alex.”
“Who knows? Even if he does, he probably doesn’t care and isn’t overthinking it like I am.”
“I think you’d be surprised,” she looks at him, confused and he bites his lip. “Even if they play it off, guys are affected by that stuff more than you’d think.”
“What is there to be affected by?”
“You,” Jack says simply. “Not that I’m biased or anything, but you leave quite an impact on everyone you meet. And that lucky ass got to date you. As someone who also has had that privilege, I can relate a bit.”
Ashley chuckles before squeezing his hand. “Thanks for coming with me. I know your schedule is really busy with the season and everything-”
“You don’t need to thank me. Isn’t half of having a significant other just bringing them as plus ones to weddings?”
“Fair.” She leans her head on his shoulder momentarily as he pushes the sunglasses on top of his head to his face. “Thank you, though. I feel bad that you’re missing practice.”
He snorts. “Don’t.”
“They didn’t give you a hard time?”
“Not really. It’s an optional, anyways. Nico just told us to have fun and I think Lindy has a soft spot for you somehow. I’m excited. I like Cam. And I’m happy to be here with you.” He smirks, adding. “Come on, baby. Did you think I was gonna leave you to dry when your ex is gonna be there?”
“You don’t know anybody at the wedding. And Cam grew up in a hockey-loving family from Boston. There’s bound to be people who recognize you.”
“So I’m the arm candy for the night. That works perfectly for me.”
They arrive at the inn just past 1, and decide to stop by a nearby cafe to grab a quick bite. Jack decides to take a short nap before they have to start getting ready and head out while she scrolls on her phone and plays with his hair since his head is on her lap. Occasionally she finds herself staring outside the window at the water with a smile. Even if not in the summer, the Cape is beautiful.
Once it hits 4:15, she figures that she should start getting ready, but she can’t move without disturbing Jack since he’s still sleeping soundly on her lap. She gently whispers his name and presses a few kisses on his forehead as his breathing changes, groaning a bit as he stretches and opens his eyes.
“Time to go?”
“In like, an hour. I need to start getting ready.”
He hums, puckering his lips and she takes the hint, kissing him soundly twice before ushering him off her lap. She lays out the few makeup products she has, moisturizing her face before putting light foundation and concealer on. As always, she focuses more attention on her eyeshadow, deciding to add a bit of gold glitter to compliment her pink dress. She clips a matching pink bow in, liking the way it blends with the natural brown of her hair. She decides to save the lipstick for right before they leave and turns to Jack, who’s buttoning his shirt.
“What do you think?” He looks up as he’s buttoning his cuffs. “Too much glitter?” She asks.
“Never too much glitter. You look beautiful.”
She looks at his blazer and tie that he’s laid out on the bed, looking at him with minor confusion. “Since when do you own that tie?”
“Since last week when I bought it.”
She looks at where her dress is hanging. “It matches my dress.”
“Yes it does.”
She looks towards him as he tucks his shirt in, a sudden wave of love rushing through her heart. “I love you.”
He looks up and immediately walks over to her, placing a hand on her waist and kissing her. “I love you too.”
She puts on her dress quickly, smiling when she doesn’t even have to ask Jack as he comes over to help her zip it up, pressing a chaste kiss on her shoulder. His phone ringing interrupts and she brushes her hair before she puts on her accessories.
“Sup Quinny?”
Quinn’s voice crackles through Jack’s phone. “Where the fuck are you going all dressed up on a Saturday? I know for a fact you don’t have a game today, considering Luke just sent a snap of him playing Chel with Dawson 10 minutes ago.”
“I’m in the Cape, asshole. One of Ash’s friends is getting married.”
She peeks into the view of the camera and waves after putting in one earring. “Hi Quinn!”
“Oh! Hey Ash. You look beautiful.”
She beams. “Thank you!”
Jack scoffs. “I’m here too.”
Ashley leaves the brothers to catch up as she starts gathering her things and puts on her lip tint before sitting at the edge of the bed since they still have 15 minutes left before they have to head out and she’s mostly all ready to go. She chimes in once in awhile, always happy to talk to Quinn as Jack shrugs on his suit jacket, ties his matching pink tie and clasps on his watch.
“Looking good, you two.” Quinn says as they both stand in front of the phone. “Matching tie, eh? Good move, Jacky.”
“We look good enough to make an ex jealous?”
She just rolls her eyes as Quinn’s eyes lights up, immediately catching on. “Absolutely.”
“Don’t encourage him, Quinn.”
Quinn just laughs and bids them farewell as Jack smooths down his tie. She puts on her jacket and grabs her boots and slips them on. As she’s about to bend down and tie them, Jack ushers her to sit on the bed and kneels down. He does it too quickly for her to dwell too much on how much she loves him, but he probably knows, if him gently rubbing his thumb over her ankle and the kiss on the inside of her knee tell her anything.
It’s only been a little over a year, but she really does think she could spend the rest of her life with him.
They end up running into Nick in the lobby and even though it’s been…four years since she’s seen him, she corrals him into a tight hug. She introduces Jack and Nick introduces Melanie, his fiancee. The only indication from Nick that he knows who Jack is is a subtle comment that’s delivered in a way that’s so Nick it makes her heart ache — “Jack Hughes. Only Ash would show up after almost five years in the flesh with a professional athlete at a wedding where her ex is gonna be at. Always gotta do some out of pocket shit.” — and makes Jack laugh as she slaps him.
The four of them walk the short seven minute walk to the venue together, with Ashley and Nick mostly leading the conversation. She can’t remember where they left their tentative friendship in their late teens and early twenties when the world was shut down and the future looked the most uncertain it had been. Even though they don’t immediately pick up where they left off, years of rust littered in their interactions and memories, she’s extremely happy to see that he’s doing well.
(Jack’s just happy to be there, holding his girlfriend’s hand as she leads the conversation. It’s nice not having to lead for once. There’s not many situations where he’s the one tagging along)
As they enter the ceremony space, Ashley immediately sees plenty of other people she recognizes. She chuckles to herself as she realizes many of the guys are from the soccer team. It’s touching to know they still keep in touch. Logan, one of said guys, greets Nick goodheartedly, before wrangling her into a hug. As pleasantries are exchanged and people are introduced, she does feel a bit out of place. But that’s natural, reconnecting with people after so long that clearly still hang out with each other and only hear about her through sporadic updates through Cam when they ask.
Sides were chosen, even if not intentionally. Ashley’s learned to be okay with that. Even if she thinks it’s unfair that Alex got to keep a lot of their mutual friends and she didn’t.
As everyone settles down in their seats, she squeezes Jack’s hand, opening her mouth to apologize for…something. Not preparing him in giving the whole lore of how she knows all these people? How the only reason she knows the sport of soccer is so well is because of Alex? Not explaining clearly the mixed feelings of her coming to the Cape this weekend?
But Jack’s enraptured in a conversation with Logan, and she smiles. Of course. Logan played hockey back in high school as well.
(Out of instinct, Jack does squeeze her hand back though, even placing them in his lap even though he’s not looking in her direction at all)
When Alex comes into view, a pretty redhead’s hand around the crook of his elbow, Ashley starts sweating. Thank goodness she has deodorant in her bag. Jack, who’s still talking to Logan, notices, and she’s about to apologize for her clammy hands as he sends her a confused look but the nearby exclamations of Alex’s name answers his question. He just presses two kisses to her temple.
Logan, to his credit, grimaces. “You gonna be good, Ash?”
She waves his kindness away. “Of course. It’s been so long. And it’s Cam’s day.”
And it is Cam’s day, as everyone falls silent watching both sets of parents and the groomsmen and bridesmaids walk down — she chuckles when she sees Sean walking down, forgetting that he and Cam got closer in college even after going to the same high school — before grinning as Amanda walks down in her beautiful A-line, ball gown of a wedding dress. Ashley wipes a tear away watching Cam do the same and she thinks if only 16 year old them could see themselves now.
(She has a moment when she looks at Jack where her stomach flips, thinking of the day they could be the ones at the altar. She quickly focuses her attention back to the front)
Cam and Amanda are pronounced husband and wife and she cheers as he dips her and kisses her, beaming and tearing up and laughing as she hears Nick wolf-whistle. People start dispersing, the large heated patio hosting a cocktail hour before the doors to the reception hall open back up again.
While she’s sipping on a glass of wine, she hears a familiar voice calling her name and she beams, carefully making sure she doesn’t spill any wine on Sean’s tuxedo as he towers over her and hugs her tightly. He introduces himself to Jack and she watches in slight amusement as they talk.
Sean and her never really were friends, more friends by association. He was more in the popular crowd in the school that Ashley herself was never inclined to push her way through. Her and Sean shared plenty of classes together though, and always got along when forced to work together. And in another life, sometimes Ashley thinks that she would’ve had a crush on the blonde boy.
Instead, she dated one of his teammates. And, well, that turned out the way it did.
(Ashley rolls her eyes when Sean makes a comment about how it “makes complete sense that you’re the one who ended up dating a professional athlete” because sure, Sean. Sure.)
Jack may be among many Massachusetts natives who live and die for the Bruins and are not hesitant in chirping him within 5 minutes of meeting him, but he smiles genuinely as his hand instinctively finds a way on her lower back. After dating Ashley for over a year, he’s used to the good-intentioned bluntness of New Englanders. She only starts rolling her eyes when high school gets brought up and stories about her start piling up. In contrast, Jack loves this and just eggs them on, eager to hear the stories.
With a quick glance at the seating chart when they’re all starting to filter back into the reception hall, she finds that the high school crowd is split between two tables, and that Cam kept to his word and put her and Alex at different ones. The tables next to each other, but still. She won’t have to worry about making accidental awkward eye contact with him across her chicken. She’s the slightest bit surprised she hasn’t crossed direct paths with him yet. But there’s enough people that they wouldn’t ever be forced to interact. And maybe that’s for the best.
Dinner passes by without incident, Ashley squeezing both Cam and Amanda tight as they come around to toast every table as Jack gives Cam a tight bro-hug and Amanda a polite kiss on the cheek. The dance floor starts to open up, and as usual, Ashley’s one of the first ones on, dragging Jack and practically their whole table out. She feels light on her feet and happy as she leans into Jack with a big smile. He ditches his suit jacket at the table and his pink tie is loosened and she thinks he looks so handsome. She’s happily tipsy enough where the curious glances and whispers from probably the entire fucking reception hall about why an NHL player is here don’t bother her. She knows he’s used to it. She doesn’t know how.
(Jack may not know everything of the lore and context behind Ashley’s relationship with the people she knows here, but he knows her and how deeply she feels and nostalgic she can get and how that can change her perception of her own memories and how that in turn, can make her extremely self critical.
So this whole evening, he’s tried to make it as easy as possible, talking with her old friends and classmates — which isn’t much of an ask, they’re nice enough — and just squeezing her hand or waist or kissing her temple or cheek when he feels her focus trailing off. If she talks to Alex and wants him there, he’ll be right next to her. If not, he’ll make himself scarce. Whatever she wants)
Ashley’s resting at her chair while Jack’s in a casual conversation with Cam as Alex comes up behind Cam, tapping him on the shoulder. She swallows and sits up straight and Jack automatically places a gentle hand on her back. Cam and Alex exchange a few words she can’t hear before Cam turns his attention back to her and Jack feels a surge of gratitude towards Cam, who looks extremely apologetic.
Jack watches as she stands up and steps towards Alex with a small smile. “Hey.”
Alex blinks. “Hi.” She gives him a quick hug before stepping back next to Jack as he stands up. “Alex, this is Jack, my boyfriend. Jack, Alex.”
“Nice to meet you, man.” Jack says with a firm, polite handshake and he doesn’t really see (or care about) Alex’s reaction before turning back to Ashley again, trying to read her. She gives him an almost imperceptible nod. Jack’s eyes flicker to Cam, who also nods behind Alex and he clears his throat. “I’m gonna get a refill. You two want anything?”
“All good, man.”
“Rum and coke, heavier on the coke?”
“You got it,” Jack presses a quick kiss to her hair before he and Cam walk to the bar.
Jack waves to the bartender for a whiskey sour for himself as Cam gets a gin and tonic. They both lean against the counter and Jack sighs, watching Alex take Jack’s previous seat. “Was that a good idea? Leaving them alone?” Because he knows her, of course, but Cam’s known her longer. And he had a front row seat to her and Alex’s friendship before they got together, their relationship when they got together, and the fallout of their breakup.
“Honestly? I don’t know. But they’re both 26 year old mature adults.” Cam’s eyes flit over to a redhead woman a couple seats away from the bar and waves her over. Jack’s trying to remember if he’s met her tonight
“Hi Cam,” she says lightly.
“Hey yourself,” he nods over in the direction of her and Alex. “You initiate that?”
She snorts, “Of course I did.” She perches herself on a stool and sticks her hand out to Jack. “I don’t think we’ve met yet. I’m Francesca, but please call me Fran. I’m Alex’s girlfriend.”
Jack gives her a small smile. This is something. “Jack. Ashley’s boyfriend.”
“I’m aware,” she teases. “I grew up in Jersey and my brother’s a huge hockey fan. I’ve been to a couple of your games throughout the years.”
“Always nice to meet a fan,” He responds smoothly and genuinely. “Especially in a room filled with Bruins fans that could honestly poison my drink at any moment and I wouldn’t be surprised.”
“Yeah, yeah. You’re lucky there are no Rangers fans here.” Cam waves him off as Jack and Fran laugh.
“What a way to meet someone for the first time,” Fran says.
“While our exes are talking for the first time in over four years?” Jack says and Fran and Cam both snort. “You could say that.”
She turns to Cam, “Cam, you can go off and mingle, you know? It’s your wedding. Jack and I will be fine here.”
Jack opens his mouth to agree but Cam just shakes his head. “It’s fine. I need a second to breathe anyways. And also make sure this doesn’t go downhill.”
“Ashley seems like a smart girl and Alex isn’t that stupid,” Fran says. “They wouldn’t make a fuss at your wedding.”
Cam sighs and Jack thinks about how thankful he is that Cam has been there for his girlfriend way before Jack even knew her. Jack then turns to Fran and asks how she and Alex met and the conversation starts there, all three of them turning to the two exes from time to time to make sure there’s no flames or glasses being thrown.
Fran talks about how she and Alex met at work and laughs in amusement when Jack explains that it was the same with him and Ashley, talking about how Ashley had been filling in for a colleague for an interview and Jack practically fell in love with her the second he saw her and had to tell himself to not sound stupid in front of the pretty girl.
And honestly, as Jack talks to Fran, he laughs to himself a bit ironically. She reminds him a bit of Ashley. A bit too much for him personally and harsh in a different way than his girlfriend, but decent company nonetheless. So maybe he and Alex are more alike than they think.
Meanwhile, the conversation happening merely 20 feet away between two exes is not as casual. Not as comfortable.
“Been a long time, huh?” Alex remarks.
Ashley tries not to scoff. “Four years.”
Alex curses under his breath. “Yeah. How are you?”
What a loaded question. She goes along with it. “I’m good.”
“Cam mentioned you’re in New York?”
“I am. Moved out there about a year after college for work. Then went to grad school there.”
“Journalist?”
She shrugs. “More or less. The title’s changed a couple times throughout the years but all in that field.”
“That’s awesome.” He runs a hand through his hair and it looks so familiar yet unfamiliar. “I still remember when you told me you got into BU. Seems like the path was always laid out for you, huh?”
She’ll have to unpack that one later. “Guess so. How about you? I heard you were in Portland. Real estate, right?”
He nods, “Yeah.”
“That’s great. I’m really glad you’re doing well.”
“Thanks.” A moment of silence there. “For what it’s worth, it is really good to see you again.”
Ashley lets out a genuine smile. Small, but genuine. “Same.”
The sound of his laughter kinda aches a bit, but not in a way that has her sad. Just nostalgic. There is some easy banter, and somewhere in the back of her mind, Ashley’s remembering a bit of why she loved him in the first place.
There’s a pause in the conversation, before she continues, “I haven’t gotten a chance to meet whoever you’re here with yet, but-”
“Fran.”
“Fran, right.” she says. “But I’ve heard a bit. How long have you two been together?”
“Are we really going to do this?”
She swallows the urge to fire back, shrugging instead. “Why not? And don’t pretend like you’re not curious about Jack either. I figured I might as well just go first.”
Alex laughs. “Around three years for Fran and I.”
“You love her?”
“I do. A lot.”
She smiles. Genuinely this time. “Good. I’m glad to hear it.”
“How about you and Mr. NHL Superstar?”
Again, she swallows down her instinct to fire back. “A little over a year now.”
“You happy?”
“Very.”
Alex nods once and doesn’t quite smile but has a pleasant expression on his face. “Cam said that he likes him. Which is a lot, considering I’m pretty sure he used to think that he was a cocky asshole.”
Ashley knows it’s not meant in that way because she knows that her boyfriend has somewhat of a reputation, but she gets defensive. “People aren’t always what they seem. Even if he’s a pest on the ice sometimes, he’s a wonderful guy.” You should know, she wants to say. You were the exact same way in high school.
They’re trickling into dangerous territory. She wonders if he’ll take the bait. If he does, she wonders if she’ll be strong enough not to fall for it. She wonders if he’ll apologize, not because she needs it, but because she knows she deserved one all those years ago.
Alex leans back casually, putting his arm over the empty chair next to him. “From me to Jack fucking Hughes. I don’t know if I should be flattered or offended.”
Ashley doesn’t know at all how she’s supposed to take that. Like everything he’s always done, he says it casually, taking a drink of water as she’s figuring out how to respond. She doesn’t. For the first time, she feels like she doesn’t have control of this conversation.
He notices she has no response and keeps going. “Hey, he’s a decent player and the money can’t hurt. I’m glad you’re happy.”
She swallows. A gold digger? Is that really what he’s hinting at?
Ashley almost sighs in relief when she catches sight of Jack, Cam and a woman who she presumes is Fran walking back towards them. Immediately she plasters on a smile and introduces herself to Fran, because it’s not her fault that her boyfriend still has the ability to get under her skin even so many years after their break-up. Jack presses a rum and coke in her hand silently and she thanks him quietly before making small talk with Fran. Just having Jack next to her has her blood pressure lowering. Soon enough, they all but shove Cam back into his own wedding and bid farewell as Fran excuses her and Alex and heads over to chat with someone she doesn’t recognize.
Jack leads her outside of the main reception hall into one of the hallways, where there are people sporadically chatting and also getting away from the music for a second.
Jack grabs her drink and faces her with a concerned look. “Ash? You okay? It seemed to get a little…tense at times.”
Ashley shrugs and chuckles. It’s bitter though, and he knows it, immediately placing a grounding hand on her waist. “I was how I always am to everyone.”
“Sure,” he responds skeptically.
She sighs. “It was fine. I’m fine. It didn’t go badly. I don’t know if it was good. It just…was.” She squeezes her eyes shut. “It was fine. It’s not a big deal. It’s been four fucking years and it’s not like I love him anymore. I shouldn’t-”
“Hey. Stop. None of that,” Jack says softly but firmly, leaning in closer and kissing her forehead as she bites her bottom lip harshly. He holds her hand gently and presses it against his chest. “Open your eyes, baby. Take some breaths with me.”
She obeys, looking into blue eyes that have become another home for her and taking deep breaths. “Thanks.”
“Always. Wanna talk about it?”
She debates in her mind. “No. It’s a wedding. Let’s go back and have fun and dance.”
“You sure?”
She nods, before placing a peck on his lips. “I’ll probably be more in my feelings tomorrow about it. Or the next week. But for now, come dance with me.”
“Lead the way.”
Ashley doesn’t even look at Alex’s direction for the rest of the night, instead looking at Jack when she feels like the floor beneath her is gonna get pulled away. The stupidly romantic thing is, she knows he’ll catch her everytime.
three - one year and nine months
“What do you think?”
Jack looks up from where he’s sitting on her bed and his eyes pop open, jaw dropping with it. He tosses his phone to the side. “Ash. Holy shit.”
Ashley twirls around in the yellow ruffle dress. “I like this one the most, but I don’t think it’s fancy enough.”
She looks up to see him biting his lip, eyes scanning her body. She blushes as he beckons her to stand inbetween his legs. “Don’t care. You have to wear this one, please. It fits you perfectly.”
She smoothes down the ruffles. “Are you sure it’s fancy enough?”
“Honey, most of the guys probably won’t even be wearing ties,” she settles her hands in his hair. “Wear this one. I know you love it and you look beautiful in it.”
She lets out a breath. “Okay, yeah. I can pair it with those flower earrings and matching bracelet and I think Scarlett has white heels I could borrow and-”
“Woah there,” he chuckles, rubbing his thumbs on the fabric at her hips. “Did you have too much coffee today? You’re talking a million miles a minute.”
“No,” she drawls out. “I’m just…nervous? This is the first thing we’re going to that’s so…”
“Public?” He finishes for her. She nods. He pushes her gently so that she’s sitting next to him. “I get that. I’m a bit nervous too. But I’ll be there the whole time. And you’ll have my parents and Quinn. And Nico will be there too. Besides, you’re great with people. I’ve seen you in action.”
She shrugs modestly. “That’s not what I’m worried about.”
“Then what is it you’re worried about?”
She swallows at his tone, because she doesn’t think he gets it. Why would he? He’s not the one that’s going to be scrutinized by his fans. At least not to the degree she would be. “Everyone else’s thoughts.”
Jack nods slowly in realization. He leans in to kiss her lips twice. She has to admit it makes her feel a bit better. His kisses usually do. “You know no one else’s opinions mean anything. Besides, it’s very clear to anyone that I’m happily taken.”
And he has a point. She’s made an appearance on his Instagram with two photos in his annual summer dump — one was just of her in the city and the other was of the two of them by the lake in Michigan — and he hadn’t tagged her, but it was clearly a message to the world that he wasn’t a single man. Social media doesn’t matter and it never will, but it had been a decision they both had come to, Jack approaching her gently and asking if he could post them.
But having it through a screen and having it in real life is different.
“I know it’s stupid,” she says. “But you know me. I don’t particularly enjoy being out of my element.”
“I know, I know,” he bumps her knee with his. “It’ll be fun though. We’ll get drunk the night before and maybe I’ll be hungover the next morning and you get to tell Luke if I do anything embarrassing.”
Ashley laughs. “That does sound fun.”
“Exactly.” He cups her face in his hands. “I gotcha, baby. Always.”
She trusts in that when she lands in Boston a few days later. She trusts in that as she gets swept in a world she’s not quite comfortable in, but finds there are a lot more similarities than differences compared to environments she’s been in. She’s a journalist after all. It’s her job in a way to blend into different lives in order to get the best and most impactful stories. She trusts in that as she’s rolling her eyes fondly at Jack, who’s chatting with practically everyone at the bar. She doesn’t think she’s ever seen this many hockey players in one room. She trusts in that as Jack then always drags whoever he’s talking to so that he can introduce her.
For someone who has always valued their privacy, Jack is making it pretty obvious that the “stunning girl in the floral shirt” is his. Ashley can’t say she hates it, even if it’s a little bold for her particular taste.
“He looks happy, doesn’t he?” Ellen asks as they both watch Jack across the room with Auston Matthews. Ashley’s cousins in Toronto would be freaking out right now.
Ashley snickers. “Drunk or happy?”
“Both?” Ellen raises her glass up to knock it against Ashley’s in a toast.
“I’ll drink to that.”
“Thank you for coming. I know it means a lot to Jack that you’re here.”
“Thank you all for having me,” Ashley responds, suddenly a bit shy. “It’s, been, uh, a bit overwhelming, to be honest.”
“I can imagine,” Ellen smiles sympathetically. “All this hockey stuff, business wise, is more Jimmy’s scene than mine.”
“Really?” Ashley thinks to all that Jack’s told her about his mother and all the warmth Ellen has emitted since they’ve met, not to mention how everyone they’ve talked to — player, coach, agent — has gravitated towards Ellen.
To her credit, Ellen chuckles. “That’s fair. Jack tells me that you know how to work a room, which is something that Jimmy’s always said about me.”
Ashley traces the rim of her glass. “I think Jack gives me too much credit.”
“I’m not sure about that,” Ellen says with a knowing smile. “I read your article the other day. The one about the family who’s had to travel across the country to get care for their child. Quinn sent it to me, actually.” Quinn read it? She doesn’t remember sending it to him. Did Jack send it to him? “It’s an incredible piece of work. How long did that take you?”
“From start to finish? Around two months.”
Ellen grins, placing a motherly hand on her shoulder. “You’re so talented, honey. I try to keep up with everything you write, but you do so much that sometimes I lose track.”
"You really don’t have to do that. But thank you, Ellen. T-that means a lot to me.”
“What does Mom not have to do?” Jack asks, squeezing himself next to his girlfriend.
“Read my articles.”
Jack grins. “Why not? They’re so good. Our family group chat is filled with them. Dad always loves your profiles.”
Ashley swallows. She’s pretty confident that the Hughes family likes her, but the fact that they all keep track of her published articles is a bit too much for her to handle right now. She downs the rest of her beer and waves Jack away when he opens his mouth to ask if she wants his. Instead, he asks the bartender for a ginger ale. Ashley’s grateful.
The next day, Ashley smiles as Jack’s walking the carpet. He’s up for the Hart trophy this year and as he squats down to greet a little boy and sign his jersey, Ashley can’t help but let her love and pride for him soar. She’s as out of the way as she can be, trying not to get overwhelmed with all the voices and flashes around her. It helps that Ellen and Jim seem to always be nearby and she makes fast friends with Nina and Luca, who are watching Nico do similar things.
She gets pulled out of her own world with a familiar hand on her waist. “Hey,” Jack murmurs into her ear.
“Hi.”
“Do you wanna jump into a few pictures with me?” Jack asks softly. “It’ll only take a few minutes. No pressure if not.”
“Uh, yeah. Sure.”
He beams, offering an arm as he leads them over to where the photographers are. She tries not to blink too much as the flashes hurt her eyes and hopes she and Jack are looking in the same direction.
“You look beautiful,” he pairs his sincere compliment with a squeeze of her waist.
She smiles at the cameras for a few seconds before turning to him slightly. “You already said that.”
“I know. It’s worth repeating.”
Thankfully, it’s only about 30 seconds before everyone else — Quinn, Jack’s parents and Nico’s family — are being ushered in for a group photo. She finds herself inbetween Jack and Nico and giggles as Nico tries to blow his hair out of his face. She takes pity on him after a few tries and she reaches up to fix it for him quickly, Nina laughing on the other side of her brother.
“Stop messing with it,” Ashley scolds lightly through clenched teeth, smiling for the pictures. “You’re gonna make it worse.” She giggles when Nico pokes her side a few seconds later.
When Jack wins the Hart, Ashley leaps out of her seat in excitement. To her, he’s always going to be the best player she knows because she sees firsthand how hard he works, but it’s nice that his peers are recognizing it too. He places a quick kiss on her lips before going up on stage and Ashley’s clapping and laughing to herself. He was dreading having to make any sort of speech.
After the ceremony, she just follows everyone to whatever swanky rooftop seemingly the entire NHL is gathering at. She finds herself flocking towards Nina for a lot of the evening as they both exchange fun stories and memories of their own lives over drinks. Ashley thinks she could keep talking to Nina for the rest of her life. She’s just so damn cool.
The next day, she drags Jack around the BU campus and is happy pointing out buildings that she had classes in, cried in, cheered in and lived her life in. They walk from one end of Com Ave to the other, Ashley dutifully pointing out Agganis Arena (“I’m sure Trevor has some good memories in this building”), their starting point.
She stands in front of the College of Communication building and stops. Jack dutifully stops next to her. “This building kinda looks like shit.”
Ashley snorts. “Yeah, I know. Especially compared to all the science buildings.” She bites her lip. “It all started here.”
“What did?”
“The dream.”
And yeah, maybe that’s a bit dramatic. But Jack said similar things when he brought her to Toronto earlier this year, so she knows he understands.
Almost two years together now, she’s convinced that no one will really ever understand her like Jack does.
He nudges her hip with his, the breeze blowing comfortably through her hair and rustling the plants around them. They watch as a student walks through the front doors. “Wanna go in?”
She shakes her head. “Nah, I’m good.” She tugs at his hand while sipping the lavender lemonade from Pavement in the other. “Come on. I’ll show you Bay State. I lived there my junior year after I came back from studying abroad in Dublin.”
Bay State Road is beautiful as always in the Boston summer, Ashley’s hand in Jack’s. She drags him out into the middle of the road and only squeals once when a car is coming and he pulls her to the sidewalk.
Campus isn’t the same when classes aren’t in session, but she hopes Jack can still feel some of the magic in the air through her stories.
“It suits you.”
She turns to Jack. “Hm?”
“This city. It suits you.”
“Oh,” she blushes for some reason. “Thanks.”
“Do you miss it here?”
“All the time,” Ashley admits. “New York is great, but Boston will always be home.”
“Would you think of working here? If given the option?” Jack asks.
“Maybe,” Ashley squeezes Jack’s hand, “But I also have reasons to stay in New York.”
He smirks, but it quickly transitions into something gentler. “Yeah?”
She could throw something snarky back at him, but she looks around the brownstones and lets out a deep breath. This is home, but flashes of Hoboken and East Village flicker in her mind and that’s also home.
She looks at Jack and feels overwhelmed. Oh. It’s Boston. It’s Hoboken. It’s East Village. It’s him. Jack is home.
four - two years
“Big day, huh?”
Ashley just smiles at Carissa, nudging her side. “We’ve come a long way since that phone call at 2 a.m.”
Carissa just snorts. “That phone call got us here.”
“True,” Ashley squeezes her arm as they make their way to their assigned table. “Love you, girly.”
“Love you more. I’m proud of us.”
Ashley grins, looking around as everyone is mingling amongst each other. There are past award winners here and Ashley’s already done some of her internal fangirling, especially when Lynsey Addario came up to her and wanted to talk to her.
She’s still decently new in this industry and knows she has so much to learn, but it’s comforting to see that all of her hard work has paid off.
People are starting to take their seats and Ashley looks around at her colleagues. Everyone’s dressed up and looks so lovely and Ashley smiles, looking down at her midnight blue dress. When Jack had seen her walk out of the changing room in it a few weeks ago, his eyes had popped out.
(“Fuck,” he had said. “Now I’m even more pissed I can’t make it to the dinner.”)
And yeah, it would be nice if he was here. But the Devils are playing the Islanders tonight. It sucks that he’s so close but so far away, but after two years now, it’s just part of the gig. And they make it work. So Ashley isn’t too upset about it, even if Jack is.
She’s a bit confused when there is an empty seat next to her, as it seems like the ballroom is filled. There’s no nametag there either, but her attention soon drifts off to the front. She has to bite her lip to stop herself from smiling too hard.
The Pulitzer Prize Awards Ceremony at Columbia University, also her alma mater in a way. Her 18-year-old-self who was sitting in the front row of Introduction to Journalism in Boston could’ve only dreamed about this day.
Opening remarks start and Ashley really does try to listen, but her eyes glaze over as her mind drifts off. She claps as the first few awards are being presented. She thinks about all the hours that it took to get this piece down, but also all the hours before — in her classes, at her college paper, in her internships, during her job search. The times she wanted to throw in the towel and just do something else. Anything else.
“I didn’t miss too much, did I?” She blinks, turning to the voice next to her. She freezes.
“Jack?” She breathes out. She hasn’t been sleeping much this week, so this could very well be a hallucination.
He beams and she reaches to place her hand on his cheek and she realizes as she scans her eyes up and down.  Oh. He’s in her favorite suit of his. And he’s here.
“Oh my god,” she wraps her arms around his neck as her whole table cheers. Thankfully, there’s a lull in the ceremony where the whole room is blanketed in a low buzz. “What the f-don’t you have a game?”
“Technically,” Jack says, nodding at her coworkers with a charming smile. “Took a personal day.”
“What? You can do that?”
“Yeah,” he shrugs, like he didn’t just skip a game to be here. He rubs his thumb on her shoulder as he kisses her temple. “This is a huge deal, baby. I wasn’t gonna miss it. I’m so proud of you.”
“Lindy’s not mad? Nico’s not mad?”
Jack snorts. “The second you won, I told Lindy to count me out for the game so he can do what he wants with that. Nico’s lowkey pissed he also can’t be here.” He turns to Carissa on the other side and beams. “Hey Care. Congrats.”
“Thanks, Jack,” Carissa beams. “Surprised you pulled this off.”
“Surprised we pulled this off.”
Ashley looks at Carissa. “You knew about this?”
“Of course. Who do you think made sure he would have a seat?”
She looks between her colleague and her boyfriend. Something creeps up her throat that feels a lot like love.
When her and Carissa are recognized and they have to go up to accept the award and give a short speech, it’s kinda a blur. All she remembers is Jack’s kiss on her cheek and receiving a standing ovation as she and Carissa walk up together. So many hours with her eyes glazed over glaring at the laptop. So many hours interviewing with people and reconfirming facts. So many hours dedicated to this one piece.
She wouldn’t have it any other way.
As Carissa is speaking, she locks eyes with Jack. He’s beaming and his eyes are actually sparkling. His hair tousled and he’s so handsome and he’s hers.
(She almost trips walking back to him)
He chuckles, pulling her into another tight hug. “You’re amazing, baby. Congratulations.”
“Thank you,” she chokes out. “Thank you for calming me down all the times I was freaking out.”
“Of course. I’m sure all those glasses of cold water helped,” he jokes. She always said the ice cold water he would place next to her laptop would wake up her brain.
She laughs into his shoulder. “They did.”
He pulls away and just stares at her, smile still on his face. Their attention is taken away by someone who wants to congratulate Ashley and has no recognition on their face when looking at Jack.
(Jack looks on with pride)
plus one - three years and four months
Stanley Cups are interesting. Even some of the best athletes of all time have never gotten one. And some that are only slightly above average perhaps were just placed on the right team in the right season.
But this Stanley Cup, in Ashley’s completely unbiased opinion, this one was fully deserved. By every single person on the team.
She doesn’t think she’ll ever forget the absolute joy in Nico’s eyes as he lifted the cup in the air to a roaring crowd at The Rock, or how long the hug between Jack and Luke was when the final whistle sounded, or seeing Ellen cry as her two sons beckoned her in for a picture with the cup, her other son and husband standing close by with pride in their eyes.
The picture of her and Jack by the cup as he’s kissing her cheek as she smiles so widely her eyes are shut might be her favorite picture of them of all time.
Ashley had wondered if Jack was going to bring the cup to Toronto or Michigan. He ended up bringing it to Toronto while Luke brought it to Michigan. It ended up being all the same, since they were both present at both.
Jack winning the Cup is obviously a huge celebration. But he’s not the only one with something to celebrate.
Yesterday, when they were out to lunch with some of his extended family, Ashley had found out by phone that she was just promoted to be a director of her team. After her phone call, she had just covered her mouth in shock as she sat down on a nearby bench. It wasn’t until a few minutes later when a concerned Jack came up to her and asked what was wrong, before she told him and he smothered her face in kisses.
The parade around his pseudo-hometown is absolutely insane. Ashley doesn’t even know how she has a voice by mid-afternoon, much less how Jack has one considering that he’s been yelling all day. At some point, she forces him to sit down and chug a giant water bottle.
But she can’t overthink too hard. Her phone’s filled with pictures of Jack with his loved ones and she just feels proud.
Some of Jack’s extended family who still live in the area offered their home to host a party that night with just friends and family. Ashley did all she could to help prepare, which included coming over to decorate the night before and parking herself in the kitchen the second they got there to offer a helping hand. Well, she tried, before every single person pushed her away and insisted she go join the celebrations.
She finds herself in a long, in-depth conversation with one of Jack’s younger cousins who’s thinking about working in media when she notices it suddenly becomes quiet. Suddenly, the light flickers off and Ashley is confused.
Jack then walks in with a circular cake with candles lit paired with his beautiful smile. Ashley blinks in confusion as everyone’s eyes fall on her and before she can ask what the hell is going on, Luke bounds over to her and swings an arm around her shoulder, shaking her.
“Congrats on your promotion, Ash!” Luke exclaims.
Her mouth drops open and she looks around as everyone in the room cheers and shouts out their congratulations. She chuckles in shock as Jack walks closer. And then suddenly, all she can focus on is him.
“What are you doing?” She whispers, suddenly wanting to cry.
“Come on,” he says with the softest smile. “You didn’t think I’d just keep the news to myself, did you?”
“But this is your day,” she chokes out.
“My day. Your day. It’s all the same, eh?” Jack nods at the candles. “Hurry up. My arms are getting tired.”
A watery laugh from her before she blows out the candles at everyone’s cheers. Jack places the cake on a nearby table before smothering her in a tight hug. Ashley’s heart could burst right now at the love she feels from the people in the room and the person in her arms. She gets a chance to really look at the cake, which is white and sage with “Congratulations Jack and Ashley!” in beautiful script at the center. The lights turn back on and Quinn’s the first one who comes up to hug her. As Ellen is giving Ashley a kiss on the cheek, she sees Jack over Ellen’s shoulder, smiling at her.
She swallows as she pulls away, before glancing at the ring on her left finger. Ashley’s never let herself want much in her life. But if someone asked her what she wants with her life, she would just place them in this room. Right here. Right now.
(They cut the cake together. Ashley feels a buzzing joy throughout her bones)

STELLAR IM ON MY KNEES PLS TELL US ABOUT THE ANDREW SERIES IDEAS
I apologize in advance for my ramblings, because I know damn well I'm going to rant. These ideas are not yet complete and could change over time as I try to work out plots and ideas, FEEDBACK IS APPRECIATED AND WANTED!
First thing's first, thank you to my Secret Spy (name is unknown for privacy reasons/to have a cool nickname) who gives me ideas and honest feedback about my work so I can improve. Much love to you. She suffers through A LOT of my obsessive rambles, and she also helps a great deal in ideas for my stories, so I appreciate her help and patience.
First idea: Andrew Graves x Stalker! Cultist! Reader
This was a suggestion brought up by my Secret Spy. It's a huge work in process considering how I'd have to try and write plot purposes with that, but hey, we'll see how it goes, so allow me to explain the (supposed) plot so far.
(Y/N) is a member of the phony cult group "Asinus infirma daemonium clava" (look it up in Latin using this translator, trust me). Due to a contract forged between her parents' and the Fire Demon before her birth. After the death of her parents from supernatural causes, (Y/N) finds herself born with demonic connections to the Fire Demon and grows up inside the cult. Surrounded by phony cultists and the same people her entire life, she finds herself utterly obsessed in love upon meeting Andrew Graves, a seemingly normal guy who just happens to accidentally infiltrate the cult.
(Y/N)'s personality is currently up in the air, but I think I'm leaning towards a confident, morally-grey reader who has a knack for causing destruction and problems.
This is currently a oneshot/fic idea due to many plot holes and a worry that this fic's original plot will be too similar to another idea I have (don't worry, that idea will be written here in this post). FEEDBACK AND SUGGESTIONS FOR THIS IDEA IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED, let me know what you want to read, and any ideas you have to help expand this into a potential series, or we can keep it a nice and short fic!
Second Idea: Andrew Graves x Greek Goddess! Reader
Due to the nature of this idea, there will be religious themes mentioned, and there will also be tons of inaccuracies and my own takes on Greek Mythology (because Greek Mythology is EVERYWHERE that it would be hard to try and make this accurate). Sorry to my Percy Jackson fans, I've never watched or read the books so the Gods' personalities will be nothing like the PJ series. This was actually an idea I introduced a few months ago, it was actually in a poll against Star Patient! This idea has been recreated with a different plot, but I believe this plot is more enjoyable than the OG's plot.
(Y/N) is the Greek Goddess of Sleep and Visions. For years, she's had her eyes on Andrew Graves, finding his dreams and subconscious desires intriguing to stand out upon the billions of other dreams she's seen throughout her millenniums. She finds herself in the mortal's overworld now, entering a world of advanced technology and terrifying beasts (cars) roaming the streets. While Andrew tries to shield (Y/N) from humanities dangerous flaws (including himself), Ashley finds (Y/N)'s powers more useful than you would expect... finding herself in a world constantly on the run as she evades the police and discovers what living is with the Graves Siblings.
So, the whole road-trip evading the police thing was an idea I had for the Cultist idea, but I decided to ditch it in the Cultist idea because it was far too similar. I figured the idea would fit here more, having an outdated and naive Goddess trying to navigate this new scary world just sounds so adorable!
(Y/N)'s personality is curious, timid, with an almost child-like fascination as she learns to understand the meaning of life, and to cherish it while it lasts. She has a serious need for validation and feeling needed, and all she wants to do is be helpful to the Graves siblings, no matter what she has to do.
This is going to be a fluffy and bittersweet series. I wanted something more wholesome and sweet for Andrew and Ashley because they deserve it after all they've gone through (in the game and in my Star Patient series, ahaha). (Y/N) and Andrew are the only love interests, and Ashley has a pretty healthy and wholesome sister-like relationship with (Y/N).
Third Idea: Andrew Graves x Two-faced! Serial Killer! Reader
As you've probably noticed now, I like making (Y/N) the more... interesting characters. I feel like each (Y/N) helps branch out and creates inclusivity for my readers, because not everyone has the same personality or thought-process, so I wanted all my (Y/N)'s to be unique too!
(Y/N) is Andrew's lovable neighbor next door. She's always willing to lend a hand and has a stellar social image and a great connection with the community. In the day, she works as a waitress in a popular diner and volunteers at pet shelters. At night, she's a ruthless killer stalking the alleyways of the city, with nothing on her mind but how many stabs she can stab a face into disfiguration. She's never cared for romance or love until now, meeting Andrew Graves after he discovers her horrific secret. Now that he knows, she'll have to keep a constant eye on him. Sure, she could kill him, but what's the point of killing such a cute guy without at least playing with him some? Maybe this isn't so much romance, but more so manipulation and power-play, however Andrew slowly seems to let those red flags go and enter a world filled with obsessive love, jealousy, and Stockholm syndrome.
This Andrew doesn't have Ashley as a sibling, making him an introverted, socially-constipated, wallflower with a need of validation.
This (Y/N) is two-faced. To your face, she's bubbly, empathetic, and is the perfect definition of a saint, but if you turn your back for just a second, you might find a knife at your throat. She has a serious thirst for blood and hearing bones snap (she could potentially be a cannibal, I'm deciding if I want that as a motive or not...)
This going to be a slowburn series.
FEEDBACK AND IDEAS ARE HIGHLY APPRECIATED FOR THIS IDEA!
Fourth Idea: Potential serial killer! Andrew Graves x Journalist! Reader
This idea is the most unstable and wonky one. This idea is under extreme development as I try to figure out what I want to do with this reader and her personality. A poll will eventually be released for this reader's personality and motives.
(Y/N) is a plain and boring woman. You wouldn't notice her in a crowd, much less recognize her face. She's a journalist who specializes in covering true crime cases, and the her hottest case happens to be the quarantined apartment in her city. A thump on her balcony and a door opening leads her to meeting Andrew Graves, who may just be the worst (or best) thing to ever happen in her life. I mean, it's not everyday your hottest crime case drops right into your apartment and begs for a place to stay! Who knew hitmen, cops, and a whole damn demon is following with—okay, what the hell is going on and how does she get her normal life back?!
(Y/N)'s personality is currently unknown. I'm unsure if I want to make her depressed with a thirst of death (hence why she lets Andrew stay, in hopes he'll kill her), or if I want (Y/N) to be a normal girl with an obsessive hobby of true crime and a conspiracy theorist (who wants to keep Andrew around in hopes he'll expose all the case's secrets for her to report). FEEDBACK IS APPRECIATED FOR THIS!
I'm also unsure if I want Andrew to be a paranoid guy trying to hide from the police after killing his sister (yes, he killed his sister), or if I want Andrew to be a cocky, arrogant, serial killer. FEEDBACK IS APPRECIATED FOR THIS!
This is going to be a series. What direction I want it to take is up in the air, but I want action and drama.
Tumblr media
These are currently the ideas I have going on. These ideas are excluding current fluffy fics I'm working on, so be on the lookout for those new fics coming out soon! These series will all be in a poll after I finish the Star Patient series, so I won't be holding off Star Patient for these!
SERIOUSLY, Y'ALL. FEEDBACK IS HIGHLY WANTED ON THESE IDEAS. DON'T BE AFRAID TO LEAVE ANONYMOUS COMMENTS IN MY INBOX, OR MESSAGE ME! I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS WANNA READ (and as always, if you have your own ideas for fics, please send them in and I'll see what I can do).

Feel So Numb: Werewolf!Leon S. Kennedy x Reader
Tumblr media
Ask and you shall receive
Contains: Hella blood and gore, werewolf attack, gunshot wounds
Tumblr media
It wasn’t like him to be radio silent, especially for this long. After he had reported over the intercom to Hunnigan about the villagers all being hostile while searching for the president’s daughter, the line went dead from Leon’s end. All Hunnigan reported to you over your own earpiece was that Ashley Graham was possibly taken to some sort of church and now it was your job to find both her and Leon and to report to Hunnigan your findings immediately.
You arrived at the last place your fiance was pin-pointed; On some rural stretch of long-forgotten road. The cobblestone had been neglected, some dug up by winding roots while the rest had been caked in mud and dead leaves. You pulled up behind what used to be a police car. The driver side door had been ripped off its hinges and not a soul was left behind, only a splatter of blood on the inside and a dropped police badge from the local station.
You eyed the obvious break in the foliage and narrowed your sight before you followed the beaten path knowing that you were walking right into danger. You drew your gun from its holster that had been strapped to your thigh and carefully watched your step. It was starting to grow dark out, the sun finally starting to set beyond the horizon.
You followed along the path until you came to a very run-down cabin where Leon had reported his first hostile villager. You saw his corpse laying across the floor and you couldn’t help but scrunch your nose at the smell the entire cabin gave off. You wanted to vomit. You swallowed the saliva that had pooled under your tongue and continued on, making your way out of the cabin and down the small flight of stairs littered with bloodied bones. You rounded the corner and stopped in your tracks at the sight of one of the police officers bloodied before you, his corpse had started to rot away.
Leon wasn’t kidding when he said something was horribly wrong.
Following the winding path out of the cabin and back into the woods, you had to step over and avoid more dead bodies until you finally came up to an animal corpse this time. It had been so decayed that no flesh remained, only bones and a little bit of muscle left. It looked to be a wolf and one of its legs had been snared in a rusted bear trap.
Now you had to worry about hidden bear traps and hostile villagers?
You don’t know how long you kept walking in the darkening woods, but you followed right on Leon’s trail until you made it to the village Leon must have been talking about. From what you last heard on the call log between Leon and Hunnigan, she mentioned something about a large windmill and a lake. You peeked around the village, bringing up your flashlight as you looked around. The looming stone church before you towered over everything around, cutting off the light of the drifting sun and casting you in near darkness. As you looked around, you nearly jumped at the sight of a burnt body tied up on a pole. The poor person was charred to a blackened crisp, no identifying features could be made out. Was this the second officer that was supposed to help Leon?
A shrill, faint noise sounded off in the distance, echoing through the woods. It rattled your bones, freezing your blood, making the hair across your body stand up on their ends. You raised your gun in the direction that the noise came from with your eyes wide and flashlight beaming into the dark. It sounded like some sort of fucked up scream; From an animal or a man, you couldn’t make out.
It took you a minute to finally uncurl from your position, quietly cursing to yourself before you trekked on.
“Gotta get the fuck out of here,” you whispered to yourself.
You kept following Leon’s distinct path. What locked doors had been opened, what path was made the most clear, what gate he had to force open with probably a good kick. You walked under a risen metal gate, eyeing it in case it slipped before you spotted an oddly placed crate to your right. There was an out-of-place torch post right next to it, barely any smoke furled out from the top. It had been extinguished recently, maybe an hour or so ago. Peeking up at the torch, you noticed that the embers were an odd purple color.
Where was Leon?
If connection had been cut out maybe less than an hour into his trek inside this fucked up rabbit hole, how far could he have gone? It had only been two days, really, he could be on the opposite side of Europe by now if he wanted to.
The scream echoed once again. It sounded closer this time. Your eyes bore into the wilderness that separated you from whatever the fuck was making that noise. It sounded like a monster crying out in pain.
Your feet carried you forward despite your brain wanting to sit tight and radio in help. A part of you was terrified to take another step into this twisted village while the rest wanted to barge through guns blazing to rescue your fiance and Ashley.
You quickly came upon the lake Hunnigan must have talking about. The water was choppy, the dock creaked eerily, there was no boat at the end of it. To your left was some sort of cobbled house, it had been worn for at least a decade by the looks of it. The door was broken open, the top half having been smashed into, the rotting wood now missing. You stepped inside of the place, gun in front of you with your finger on the trigger as you swept through the entire room, your eyes landing on Leon’s jacket and gun thrown to the ground in front of you.
You holstered your gun and bent down, picking up his jacket only showed that it was tattered. It looked like an animal had tore into it. The seams around the arms were split open, stitches were popped, there were odd lines scratched down the back of his jacket before you looked back down at the gun. Leon’s SG-09R laid splattered in mud, barely visible. You were only able to see in from the faint light of the full moon overhead. You couldn’t help but pick it up, the weight foreign yet familiar. It was empty, bullets absent. What was even more of a shock was that it almost looked like it had been crushed, especially at the wooden embedded handle. The metal was all bent out of shape and the wood was splintered. Whatever got ahold of it has to have been something big and nasty.
You swallowed thickly. Before you could press a finger to your earpiece to radio Hunnigan, you heard a chilling snap of iron close to you followed by a snarl that cut through the night.
You dropped the gun and Leon’s jacket and snatched up your own, barging outside with your finger on the trigger. You followed the sound the noise came from, flashlight clicked on only to see a bear trap ripped in half in front of you. It had been snapped at the hinges. Blood covered the rusted teeth, the pressure plate had been smashed, the chain had been yanked up from the soggy earth.
Whatever was making those horrible noises had just gotten out.
You swallowed thickly, raising your flashlight to follow the trail whatever it was made for you. There were odd marks in the mud and leaves, almost like a giant wolf had tore through the woods.
You heard someone shouting not too far away, gargled Spanish bellowing out before he was horribly cut off with a vicious snarl. You ran towards the noise before you stopped dead in your tracks at what your flashlight illuminated.
It was a monster. A real fucking monster. Not a zombie or some B.O.W. you’ve seen from the B.S.A.A.’s reports. It looked like something straight out of a nightmare. Your heart dropped to your chest as you stumbled back, your gun trembling in your hand. It was big, way bigger than any human you’ve ever seen. It was bulky and hairy and horrible. It was hunched over, tearing into the villager with clawed hands and a maw full of sharp teeth. It was wearing clothes, or whatever remained clinging to its lanky body. They almost looked… familiar?
Black cargo pants torn up way past the knees, a leg holster that was barely hanging on from the strap around its hip, and a shredded black t-shirt just like Leon-
It felt like someone had just pushed you off a cliff and let you plummet into an icy river below. You went into shock, shoulders dropping as the beast before you suddenly locked eyes with you. They were big, furious, slitted pupils drowning in a sea of sapphire blue as he looked at you with a feral hunger that could only be sated by killing.
“Leon?” you called out in disbelief.
No, it couldn’t be! He couldn’t be a werewolf. This was some sick ploy. It had to be.
He dropped the villager and stalked towards you, wolfen ears flattened against his skull, his lips curled back to reveal his bloodied canines, his clawed fingers flexing. He snapped his jaws, saliva and blood flying out as a horrid snarl clicked out from his throat.
You couldn’t let him kill you, but could you put him down?
You hesitated for a moment before you cocked your gun and pulled the trigger.
Tumblr media
He woke up to his skull throbbing.
He winced and hissed, a groan emitting from his chest as he brought his hands up to his face. The light burned his eyes wherever it was coming from, the sound of his heart beating in his ears made his temples pound even harder. He felt like he had been ran over, thrown off a building, maybe even getting the shit beat out of him by that freak years ago in Raccoon City.
But it was always like this when he would turn.
His entire body was stiff, muscles screaming as he forced himself to move. He only managed to roll over onto his side before he had to stop. It felt like someone had just stabbed him right in the kidney, a choked shout cutting his breathing off. He braced his head against the dusty stone floor as he panted. He brought a trembling hand up to his hip where he could feel the tender skin as well as two divots in his trim waist. His skin flinched at his own touch, Leon grit his teeth and propped himself up on his other arm and finally opened his eyes.
He was in some kind of cellar, it didn’t look to be well taken care of. There were cobwebs caking the ceilings and the floor was covered in a blanket of dust and dirt. There were kegs in the cellar, some were leaking fortified wine from how long they had been aging.
Leon looked down at his hip to see he was healing. The gunpowder still sweetly caressed his nose from where he had been shot. Looking at his body, he noticed he had been shot in the shoulder he was propping himself up on and one in the calf right above his ankle. He was healing, at least, the skin closed up and slowly stitching itself back together.
“Shit,” he cursed to himself softly.
He quickly noticed that his uninjured leg had been shackled, a rusty iron chain was clamped around his shin, keeping him attached to the stone wall.
What the hell happened, anyway?
He could briefly hear the call of the wild ringing bells in the back of his mind. He could feel the beast inside of him clawing at his guts, baying to be let out again. His memory was fuzzy, no pun intended, as he tried to piece together what all had happened and why he suddenly lost control.
He rubbed at his pounding temples, brushing the sticky hair out of his face when he noticed it. Pulling his hand away, his eyes widened frantically at the sight of dried blood dusting his fingertips and crusting up under his nails. Bile suddenly bubbled wickedly in his stomach as he felt saliva pool in the back of his throat. Did he attack someone? All could remember were those fucking crazed villagers and-
You.
Leon sat straight up, wincing at the pull in his back before he locked his hands around the chain and yanked, trying to release himself. His heart pounded so loudly in his ears that he almost didn’t hear the cocking of a gun behind him.
Almost.
Leon whipped around, standing and then suddenly freezing. You were standing at the opposite of the small cellar, panting softly with your gun raised with both hands. His eyes zeroed in on the makeshift bandage on your bicep that was still bleeding from the looks of it. He felt dread clawing its icy way up his spine.
“(Y/n)-”
“Shut up,” you grit your teeth, nudging your gun forward. “What the actual fuck was that, Leon?”
He attacked you. He lost control of himself and attacked you when you were sent here to save his sorry ass. Did he bite too? Did he turn you? There were other bandages around you, one particular one was wrapped around your thigh. The fabric was different than the rest, it almost looked like the scarf Ashley was wearing when Leon saw her last. He could smell her faint perfume.
“Where’s Ashley-?”
“Don’t change the fucking subject; She’s here with me.” You took a step forward and Leon raised his hands in surrender. “Now what the actual fuck was that you turned into?”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Hey!” Your identical twin sister, Ashley, called out as she walked out of her barn, with her head tilted to the side and a confused look on her face. “Aren’t you supposed to be in Greece with Natasha?”
“That was last week.” You called out as you yanked your suitcase from the back of the cab you had had to hire when your ride didn’t show up. “It’s the tenth, dipshit.”
“No it’s not.” She said as she put her hands down at her sides for a second.
“Yea it is.” You hissed as you stopped in front of her and shook your head. “What are you even doing with yourself?”
“I’m pregnant, shut up.” She said as she stepped forward to kiss your cheek before walking around you to head toward the large round ring.
“No, you’re just forgetful.” You pointed out as you turned with her and stepped up onto the round wood beams that created the five foot walls to look at a gorgeous appaloosa mustang that was freaking out in the pen. “Who’s this guy?”
“Bought him at an auction.” She said as she crossed her arms over the top rail with a smile. “I’m gunna gentle him.”
“You’re fucking high!” You barked through a laugh as you looked over at her. “Not while you’re pregnant.” With another glance back at the horse, you sighed and reached out to take training whip out of her hand.
“(Y/N), you don’t have to.”
“Yea, I know I don’t.” You said as you grabbed the strap the horse was dragging and wrapped it around your hand. “Hup! This way. Get!” You shouted loudly as you swished the whip in front of where the horse was going to be to get him to turn around. “Was he wild? That why he’s on a lead?”
“He came to Briar Ridge like that. I just moved the trailer away from the ring when you pulled up.”
“You mean, when you were supposed to be picking me up from the airport?” You teased with a glance over at her before switching the horse’s direction again.
“So how’s the wife?” She asked, purposely changing the subject while scratching her nose with her middle finger.
“Amazing as ever and somehow, she even managed to tan this trip. Oh, you should have seen the yacht Bucky rented us for our anniversary. Absolutely stunning.” Your sister smiled, rested her chin on her arms and let you rant to your heart’s content, since she was the only one in your family who was willing to hear anything about your unconventional lifestyle.
“I just feel like we’re all just to busy to get a dog, you know?” You finished up at the end of almost an hour of trying to break this horse. You turned your back on him and shrugged at your sister. “The boys really want one though, so Nat and I will probably give in.” You were expecting the horse to walk up behind you to join up, but instead, he took a running start and easily cleared the round pen fence. You didn’t see it coming, so you had no chance to drop the rope before it tightened around your wrist and forearm. You were yanked sideways nearly out of your boots, and hit the fence with such force, you were launched over the top of it on to the unforgiving gravel driveway. You scrambled to get your wrist free and swiveled around to get up on your feet like you were water skiing to save your sides from getting even more road rash than they now had.
“Let go of the rope!” Someone shouted beside you.
“I can’t! It’s wrapped!” The man called out to his horse and a couple moments later, you felt him grab you around the waist and lift you off the ground. You landed awkwardly in front of him and he pulled the horse to a stop so he could quickly unwrap it from your wrist. Your body started to shake violently as he passed the rope to someone else and adjusted you on his saddle to bring you back up toward the house.
“Is she OK?!” Ashley shouted as your savior rode up to her side. You tried to look down at her and shook your head as your vision started to tunnel.
“Natasha is going to kill you.”
——
“Natasha, I am fine.” You giggled in Russian, the language you only learned because she slipped into it when she was upset or angry and you needed to learn or get left behind, as you looked at the brace on your wrist as if you were showing her. “I got lucky it was just a sprain…”
“You were dragged by a horse!” She screeched over you. “You could have been killed… no, James, she could have been killed.”
“I could not have been killed, Nat.” You and her husband said at the same time in a vain, because Natasha absolutely ruled the house.
“Natasha, I am fine.” You repeated again as you ran your braced hand through your hair. “I swear it. It looks way worse than it actually is, baby. And if it wasn’t, I would tell you, you know that. So please, stop worrying and enjoy your time in Spain.”
“You swear you’d tell me if you weren’t?”
“I swear it.” You promised as a dark mass caught your eye. You looked over at the man that was looking over to see who was outside, sitting in the dark on the phone at three in the morning. You gave him small, apologetic wave and started to stand to move away from the barn, but he waved you off and stepped back inside. “Sweetheart, please, please go enjoy your day in Madrid. You can see all the damage when we meet at home in a week. Bucky, can you please distract her?”
“Already on it.” He called out a second before she asked ‘Why are you naked… oh.’
“Love you, baby.” You chuckled before hanging up the phone and looking back over at the barn. “You can come out of the shadows now.” You smirked as the shadow you assumed was the man’s head moved forward and confirmed your suspicion.
“Ma’am, I apologize…”
“Don’t worry about it.” You laughed as you pat the spot beside you on the bench outside the office door. “I hope I didn’t wake you.”
“I don’t sleep much as is.” He said as he sat down with a shrug. You nodded your head and put your phone down beside you.
“Thank you. For saving me this morning… sorry, I never caught your name…”
“Henry. And it was no trouble at all. Though it was something new to see someone try to ski behind a horse.”
“Oh, I am something special, that’s for sure.” You laughed as you leaned back against the barn to look up at the stars. “Gotta make an entrance.”
“If I may be so bold… what language was that?”
“Oh, Russian. I’m sloppy with it, but it’s my wife’s first language so her husband and I have learned it over the years to keep up with her when she gets angry.” Your smirk grew but you kept looking up at the sky as he looked over at you quizzically.
“Wait, I’m sorry. You said your wife… and her husband?”
“You haven’t met my parents or my sisters yet, have you?” You asked as you finally looked over at him with a smile.
“Only been here a few weeks, ma’am.” With a nod of your head, you glanced up at the main house with a sigh before looking back at him with a shrug.
“I am bisexual. Which my family doesn’t really care about. But six years ago, I met and fell in love with a woman, who happens to be married to a man. They had been married about two years at that point and were already in a polyamorous relationship. So basically we have me, my wife, Natasha, her husband, my partner Bucky, and their partner, Steve in this strange love square of intimacy.”
“OK, I think I am on the same page.”
“Yea, well my parents are not.” You sighed. “My parents are disgusted with the whole idea of polygamy and can’t understand how the hell I could marry someone that cheats on me with not one but two men that I occasionally cheat on her with as well. To them, my marriage, my relationships with my significant others, and my whole living situation in general is a disgusting farce. They tried to write me out of their will and my inheritance, which thankfully for me they couldn’t do the latter. But they turned my brother and sisters against me. Everyone but Ash. Though, she is my identical twin so we have a deeper connection than most.”
“Wow.” He breathed as he searched your eyes. He paused for a moment before a small smile stretched across his cheeks. “Sorry, I have so many questions.”
“I’m here all week.” You laughed as you searched his almost completely blue eyes. “And I love talking about them to anyone willing to listen.”
——
“Good morning favorite sister.” You said, cheerfully as you skipped into her kitchen. “Where’s my favorite brother-in-law?”
“Left for work twenty minutes ago. What’s got you so happy, weirdo?” She asked as you draped your backpack on your chair and headed over to get a cup of coffee.
“Can’t I just be happy to see my sister, hmm?”
“Ha! I don’t believe that for a second.” She laughed as she watched you set your coffee on the table and head for the fridge. “Tom made breakfast you know.”
“I know. I’m just throwing together a trail lunch. Haven’t been riding in forever.” She looked at your back with her eyebrows raised at your current choice of wardrobe.
“So you’re gunna go for a horse back ride in a bikini top and sleep shorts?” Ashley asked, slightly hesitantly as she turned in her chair to watch you throw some scrambled eggs and bacon in a piece of toast.
“Tried putting on jeans and a t-shirt but it hurt like shit so bathing suit it is. Besides, you have that gorgeous lake on your property that I bet is just begging to be swam in.” You took a big bite of your sandwich and hummed in approval before toasting the air with it. “Good food. Don’t worry about cooking, I’m taking us all out tonight. It’s been too long. I’ll be back.” With a kiss on her cheeks, you grabbed your backpack and coffee mug and headed out the front door, only for her to jump to her feet and follow after you as fast as she could.
“(Y/N), you should wait for Tom to take you, we both know you don’t know the trails here very well no matter how much you think do.”
“The lake is like a straight shot through the middle of your property.” You laughed before taking a sip of coffee. “Besides, I have a fancy compass app on my phone now so I can’t possibly get lost.”
“Sissy, I really don’t think this is a good idea. You have a sprained wrist already and your whole side is covered in road rash. Please…”
“Ms. Hiddleston?” You and your sister both stopped to look at Henry and a smile spread across your face. “I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but I was about to take Arrow out for his daily ride myself. I could tack up Blaze as well and make sure Ms. (Y/L/N) doesn’t get lost for you.”
“There we go, perfect.” You said as you gestured to him while looking at your sister. “Personal tour guide. That work?”
“Fine.” She sighed in defeat. “I have a bunch of stuff I need to do in the office so I won’t be much fun until this afternoon anyways.”
“So then it’s settled.” You said as you looked over at Henry with a smile. “Grab a bathing suit and I’ll start with the blankets.” Your sister sighed in defeat and walked back up to the house to finish getting ready for her day, while you and Henry got ready for your ride. When you finally got settled on the back of the brown stallion, you glanced over at your guide with a smirk. “You can ask your questions, Henry. I don’t bite unless you ask me to.”
“How does it work?” He spit out rather quickly. “Like… sorry…”
“Don’t be sorry.” You giggled as you pulled at the leg of your shorts so they sat more comfortably. “It’s not complicated, but it is a little bit complicated. But there is also no real specific way about it.”
“Because that’s not confusing.” He chuckled as he looked over at your adorable smile.
“OK, so I’ll try to keep it simple. So in our poly relationship, the way we do it is by rotation that gets disrupted on a regular basis. One night it’s same sex night, the next it’s the three of them and I’m alone, then it’s Nat, Bucky and I and Steve’s alone. Then Nat and Bucky take their night and Steve and I are alone because we don’t have any romantic chemistry and that’s OK. After that it’s Bucky and I and Steve and Nat, then all four, then there’s a general “give me space, damn it” night and we start over again.”
“Jesus.”
“It’s not that bad.” You laughed as you wrested your braced wrist on the saddle horn. “And like I said, we really don’t stick to that schedule at all. The boys work a lot, and Natasha is an heiress like me and loves to travel as much as I do, so we do spend a lot more time together than we do with the boys. But that’s also because Steve and Bucky are high school sweethearts even though Steve stayed in the closet until after Natasha and Bucky got married… that one’s complicated and also not my story to really tell. So if you stick around long enough, you’ll hear about it.”
“So… well… OK, I’ll just come out with it. I’m sort of bi. I prefer women but I have found a man or two attractive in my time and there was a drunken night in University with a mate. But I prefer women…”
“And that’s OK…”
“So what happens if I give in to the feeling of liking you as much as I do just from our conversation this morning?” He said over you, making your smile grow. “What happens…”
“Then we start dating, sweetheart.” You giggled as you stopped beside the lake. “Simple as that. And we all as a family, can all figure out boundaries where we need to. We’ve made the same accommodation to Steve and the woman he’s currently seeing, who chooses to remain outside the family completely. And we can make that same accommodation here, if that’s what you’re interested in. But I will say, being part of our family is something quite spectacular.”
“But end of the day, I will always have to share you in some capacity.” He said as he looked at the back of Blaze’s neck.
“Yea sweetheart. You will.” He nodded his head slowly as he thought about what you said, and looked over at you as you got off Arrow to enjoy your day.
“Can we just see where this goes for now?” He asked as he jumped down beside you and took the reins from your hand. “See if we actually like each other first before we bring your family into it?” You smiled up at him and nodded your head.
“That’s the best part, ain’t it?”
——
You were sound asleep in Henry’s barn loft bed, naked and freshly fucked, when your phone started ringing on his bedside table. With a groan from each of you, he grabbed the device for you, handed it to you, and then wrapped his arms and legs around you like an octopus. You huffed as you answered the FaceTime call.
“You made it home?” You asked groggily as you squinted at the screen. Bucky paused as he looked at you and then the hairy chest that was your background.
“What are you doing, ma’am?” He teased, the laughter obvious in his voice.
“Oh, bite me.” You giggled as you looked at yourself in the little box that showed your camera’s angle.
“Looks like I’m too late on that one, sweetheart.” Natasha laughed as she turned Bucky’s hand so she could see as well, letting you see more of her bedroom at home. “Is that a hickey?”
“Grow up.” You grumbled as Henry slid his hand up your chest to cover the love bites he left on your neck. Your partners both ‘awed’ at you, which made you roll your eyes before Natasha spoke again.
“Yes, solnyshka. We made it home. Want us to let you go?”
“You’re fine.” Henry grumbled in your ear before he buried his face in your hair. You smiled, dreamily and barely shook your head.
“It’s alright. How was the flight?”
“Not as eventful as your night.” Bucky teased, causing Natasha to lightly backhand his chest with a small scowl.
“Be nice.” She scolded before taking the phone out of his hand, but leaving it to where he can still see. “I take it this is Henry?”
“This is Henry.” You confirmed as you held the phone up a bit so she could see his profile as he hid from the light of your phone screen in your hair. “Say hi.” You watched his eye crack open and he looked up at the phone screen as he mumbled “hey” before hiding again.
“He’s cute.” Nat mouthed as you put the phone back in front of you on the pillow while Henry’s thumb started absentmindedly tracing the column of your neck. You nodded in agreement.
“So we were talking about it.” You informed your partners as your free hand reached down to brush across the one Henry had slung around your waist. “Henry’s going to come back with me for a few days to meet everyone and see if we all vibe.”
“That’s perfect.” Nat said with a genuine smile. “Just remember, we have that charity auction the night after you get back so make sure he has a suit packed. I already talked to Cheyenne about getting us gowns.”
“Shit, I completely forgot about that.” Bucky said as he laid down in bed more to get comfortable to sleep.
“It’s on the calendar.” You and Nat reminded him simultaneously.
“Where’s Steve tonight?”
“With Sharon.” Nat said as a dark look flashed in her eyes. Your brow furrowed as she muttered something in Russian you couldn’t understand before the look was just gone. “He’ll be home tomorrow night though so…”
“Gotcha.” You confirmed with a giant yawn. “Alright, I’m going back to bed. Love you both.”
“Love you, too, solnyshka.” Nat cooed before she blew you a kiss. You sent an air kiss right back just before she hung up the phone. With a sigh, you dropped the device on your pillow and snuggled back into Henry.
“Whats the word she called you?” He asked as he tightened his hold on you and moved his hand from your throat to around your upper chest.
“It translates to sunshine.” You breathed as you laced your fingers with his on your shoulder.
“Got it.” With a gentle kiss to your shoulder blade, he pulled you impossibly closer and within moments was back asleep. A smile stretched across your face as you closed your eyes, and within a minute, you were back asleep as well.
words: 2.2k
On the drive home from Ashley’s you were buzzing from the excitement of meeting Jupiter as well as the anticipation of telling Austin that you felt ready to start trying for a baby. You knew he was going to be ecstatic, it was obvious that while he was always extremely supportive and understanding of your point of view the last time you spoke about it, there was a part of him that was initially disappointed when you expressed your decision to wait to have kids. He was good at masking it, not wanting to make you feel bad for a completely rational and understandable decision, but you knew him well enough to see past his facade and couldn’t help but feel a little guilty for being the one to put starting a family on hold.
That disappointment for him and guilt from yourself didn’t last long though, as he landing his ‘Elvis’ role no more than six months after that conversation took place. Now, two years later, you could not have imagined trying to navigate a little one during the stress of the pandemic and a filming process like Elvis. Despite being very stable and annoyingly in love your entire relationship, never once considering separating, being newlyweds was still incredible stressful during that time so you knew you both shared a mutual, unspoken feeling of relief for the decision you made.
Looking over at your husband as he drove, you start to try and come up with a way to approach the conversation when you got home, wanting to make it as special as possible. Usually you pride yourself on your creativity as well as your apt for being excellent at surprises, but in this moment there was not a single idea in your head. You were completely perplexed, and growing increasingly frustrated, at your inability to come up with a suitable way to start the conversation. This must have been evident on your face as Austin glanced over and caught you looking his way, a small frown on your face and eyebrows pulled together in deep thought,
“Baby?” You, so consumed by your spiralling thinking, don’t notice when first he addresses you,  “Y/N?” He places a hand on yours resting on the center console, rubbing his thumb along your knuckles to gently bring your focus back to reality, “What’s going on in your head darlin’? You’ve been so quiet this whole drive–makin’ me nervous.” He drawls, attention shifting between the road and you, waiting for your answer. You try to quickly recover, as to not tip him off about the impending conversation,
“Sorry baby, I’m alright. I think the adrenaline and excitement from the day is finally wearing off so I’m a little tired.” Austin eyes you, not quite convinced but decides not to push it any further. You can see this fact evident on his face so you smoothly change the subject so he doesn’t have room to figure out the real reason you’re acting weird, “What about you? Did you have a good day Uncle Austin? Was it everything you dreamed it would be?” Being reminded of his picture perfect day, surrounded by his favourite girls, immediately distracts him from your odd behaviour,
“It was everything I imagined and more. Jupiter is just perfect–I can’t believe she’s real, and finally seeing Ashley again after so long was perfect, and you being there with me to share it all was-“
“Perfect?” You find his excited rambling extremely sweet but you can’t help but tease him. He bites his bottom lip smiling, slightly embarrassed by his own words. You lean over, grabbing the far side of his face to press a quick kiss against the corner of his mouth before speaking again, “I’m not trying to embarrass you, love. I’m just teasing you, I loved seeing you so happy today.” You absentmindedly smooth your thumb back and forth along his cheekbone as you speak. The loving gesture and kind words make him smile, ducking his head down slightly to press a kiss to the inside of your wrist that hovers near his mouth,
“I was so happy. I am so happy, y/n. Everything just seems to be working out lately—my career, my family and friends, you. I just can’t believe it all.” You can feel your cheeks start to hurt from how large your smile is. After experiencing firsthand the type of stress Austin had been under the last two years; completely immersing himself in his role, being away from all of his family and friends, the pandemic, you were overjoyed that he was finally feeling the beginnings of the pay off of it all. And you knew this would only increase as the press for the movie and the fan reaction began.
It was at this thought that your happiness and excitement momentarily faltered. Since your realization at Ashley’s, you had failed to fully considered how much was going to change after Elvis came out. From watching the transformation your husband made, you knew that people were finally going to take notice of him and, as a result, his popularity was going to sky-rocket. There wasn’t a cell in your body that didn’t want that for Austin, he deserves to finally be recognize as the incredible actor and person that he is, but you did start to worry that having a baby in the mids of it all these new changes could be just as bad as having one in the middle of filming. To quell your small disappointment and spike in anxiety, you lean your head on Austin’s shoulder as he turns onto the last road to get to your house.
It’s obvious now that something more is wrong than what you originally let on so Austin presses a kiss to your hairline and mumbles, “You wanna get some food and talk about it when we get home?” You sigh, nodding and snuggling into his arm for the remainder of the ride.
                                                           …
      After taking the remnants of your takeout to the kitchen, you make you way back to the couch where Austin is sitting, arms outstretched along the back and his head leaned back. The credits of the show you were watching play on the tv so you pick up the remote and pause it before sitting down against him, tucking your legs up and leaning your head on his shoulder. He wraps his arms around you, kissing the top of your head,
“What’s goin’ on in your head, pretty girl?” You lift your head up and slightly turn your body in his grasp to look at him fully, he smooths his palm up and down your arm as he speaks. The weight and warmth of his hand against your bare skin grounds you as your open your mouth to speak,
“I was- I guess I just-” You pause for a moment, closing your eyes and taking a deep breath to get your thoughts together, “I had a thought earlier today, about us, and built it all up in my head before I really considered it. I’ll be alright, I’m just a little annoyed at myself for getting carried away. And, honestly, I’m kinda sad about it too.” Austin watches your face as you speak, brows slightly furrowed as he takes in your words. You know you were vague and he is probably more than a little confused, but you can’t bring yourself to say exactly what you were thinking, tears already threatening behind your eyes.
“Oh baby, I’m sorry you’re upset. Do you think you could explain your thought to me? Maybe there’s somethin’ you didn’t think of that I can do to help.” As you gaze into his eyes, your heart swells with love for the man in front of you. You are so grateful to have him as partner in life, always so kind and attentive to your needs. You look down to your lap for a moment, clearing your throat and parting your lips to unleash the uncensored truth but the words stay lodged in your throat. Emotion starts to swell within you, hot tears pricking the corners of your eyes, and you look to Austin. He gently brushes your cheek with the back of his fingers, “It’s okay, you can tell me anything.” A tear slips from your eye at his reassurance and you quickly wipe it away,
“I wanted to have a baby.” The second the words leave your mouth you can feel Austin tense beside you. Terrified that he is going to get upset you quickly continue, “Don’t worry, I know that we can’t and I promise I’ll get over it I just need some time an-” Austin silences you by leaning forward and pressing his lips to yours. You melt into the kiss after a moment of surprise, focusing on the warmth of his mouth against yours and the hand that now rests under your chin. He pulls away slowly, as if moving too fast could scare you away,
“You really wanna to have a baby with me? Oh my god y/n, that’s amazing! When did you change your mind?” He scoots closer to you on the couch and runs his fingers through your hair. His eyes are bright, excited, and that flares your upset once again—he’s not listening. You furrow your eyebrows and you gently push his hand from your hair.
“Austin, we can’t. I just told you that’s why I’m upset.” Austin tries to interrupt but you stop him, wiping at your wet, blotchy cheeks, “You were absolutely perfect with Jupiter and I could see how ready you are, and that made me ready. But, everyone is finally going to see how incredible you are when this movie comes out and I want you to have your moment in the spotlight. This has been your dream your entire career, I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I put that in jeopardy by being selfish.”
“Y/n, you and our family are my dream. There will never be a ‘perfect’ time to have a baby, all that matters is whether or not we both want it. And it’s not ‘selfish’ to want it.” Austin grasps your chin, turning your face and making you look him in the eyes. “Do you wanna have a baby with me?” You plead with your eyes and stutter to answer,
“Aus, it’s not that simple. I-“ He presses a finger to your lips, silencing you, and softly laughs,
“Hey, none of that. Just answer the question.” You sigh in defeat and pull his hand away from your mouth and into your lap before responding,
“Yes, I want to have a baby with you.” Because you do, there is nothing you want more than to grow the love between him and you by bringing a baby into the world.
“And I want to have a baby with you. So let’s do it. If we both want it then we'll make it work. ” You gaze into the eyes of the man you love as he speaks and all you see is unfiltered love and excitement. It’s in this moment that you believe what he says, because you can see how much he believes it himself. If you love each other and you both want to start this journey together, then everything else can be dealt with as it comes. At this realization, you finally allow yourself feel the excitement you experienced earlier in the day, a large smile spreading across your face.
“You promise that it’s really what you want? I don’t want you to agree just because I’m upset.” Austin tilts his head back and laughs, a deep rumbling in his chest. You nudge him in the ribs, causing him to let out an ‘hey!’, and can’t help but laugh along with him, “Don’t laugh, I’m serious! What’s so funny anyway?”
“Y/n, you’re kidding right?” He leans in, suddenly serious and slings his arms around you again, speaking lowly, “I think I’ve made it pretty obvious how much I would love to get you pregnant, baby.” He trails kisses along the side of your jaw and down your neck, your eyes fluttering closed and lips softly parting. After a moment of getting lost in each other, Austin pulls back–a smug smirk on his face to look at you. With your eyes still closed you say,
“Okay, let’s do it.” Before you can even process what’s happen, you’re being lifted into the air and your eyes fly open meet Austin’s gaze. You wrap your arms around him as he carries you toward the stairs, a glint in his bright blue eyes, “Um—where are we going?”
“To get started.” He reaches the top of the stairs, looking down at you in his arms, “If we don’t get a baby in you right now, how am I gonna have a hot wife with a cute little baby bump as my date to the Met Gala?” You’re momentarily shocked at his words, and you can tell by the devilish look on his face that while he’s joking, he also isn’t. You shake your head, a smile on your lips, as he pushes the door to your bedroom open.
All you get out is, “can’t argue with that”, before you squeal as he tosses you onto the bed.
"It was just a joke, right?"
Matthew glances over from the passenger's seat, lounging as comfortably as he can in your relatively small ride. He's so tall, he has the seat slid back as far as possible, which is why he doesn't drive your car, like, ever. Mess up your mirrors and everything.
"What?" he asks.
"A joke. What you said, at Ashley's house."
"What part?"
You frown at the road. You'd thought that it would be less embarrassing to ask him about this while you're busy, so you don't have to look at him and face it head-on, but he's still pushing your buttons.
"The part when I wanted another drink and you got up to get it and you said..."
Matthew is looking at you, calm and expectant behind his sunglasses, but you can't even say it. Your stomach twists, and you don't think it's in a bad way, which makes all of this even worse. An awakening of this kind isn't supposed to happen at your boyfriend's college friend's house during a baseball game kickback.
"Daddy's got it?" Matthew finishes, with the worst shit-eating grin.
Yes. That.
You're white-knuckling the steering wheel at this point.
"Yeah, baby, I was joking," he says.
"Okay."
That's that, then. He was joking, which means you should absolutely try to forget the way that you'd reacted when he said it.
Which was embarrassing, but it was also...something. You're a grown adult, you've had your share of experiences, heard and seen your share of lewd and suggestive things. But nothing that you can recall has floored you so instantly, so completely, so unexpectedly, as Matthew casually using that nickname to refer to himself.
It was a dropped-jaw, blank-head kind of moment. He's got dudebro energy, and he's the smallest bit protective, but mostly Matthew is polite and thoughtful and mild-mannered. So this...
"That really stuck with you, huh?" he says.
"Not really," you lie.
Matthew hums, clearly disbelieving. "I dunno, you wouldn't've said anything if it was no big."
"It just surprised me."
Worst of all is the way it surprised no one else. Ashley, sitting right in the next chair, didn't even blink, and you're absolutely sure she heard it. Joan just rolled her eyes, and Somin's sharp gaze stayed on the TV.
You, however. Your stomach dropped. And a little farther south, well...
"Y'know what I think?"
You're in for it now. "What?"
"I think you liked it, a lil bit."
Or a lot.
You manage to escape answering as you pull into the parking lot of your building, and navigate the tight parking spots. But once the car doors are locked and Matthew is following you into the elevator up to your unit, he starts in again.
"Well?"
He's tall, and broad, and he's using it to his advantage, leaning over you against the wall of the elevator, caging you in.
"Well?" you repeat.
"Didn't answer me."
You grin up at him. "I forget the question."
"Brat," he says fondly, and oh no. "Did you like it?"
"I mean. Maybe?"
"Whatchu mean, maybe?"
You shrug as best you can against the wall. "Just maybe. You really surprised me."
"So you wouldn't be mad if I keep doing it, huh?"
You should know better than to try to play cool with him. The elevator reaches your floor, and you dart under his arm and out the door. Running away is useless, all some kind of game, but you're flustered, and you need a second to think about this.
He keeps talking his way down the hall behind you. "Cuz, like, I think it's kinda hot."
"Oh?" you murmur, unlocking the apartment door.
"Yeah, y'know." He raises his eyebrows, wags them. "Daddy."
Goddamnit, he said it again.
Your shoes and jacket get way more attention than they need, as you put them away and try not to immediately fall to pieces at the idea that Matthew wants you to call him daddy and you are completely on board, who are you, what's happening-
"Wouldn't mind that," he says.
"You..." you falter. "You want me...I mean, I could..."
There are two completely equal and opposite factions of your brain fighting it out, right now: one that wants to shut this down and forget it ever happened lest you die of embarrassment, and one that's already decided this is the best day of your life.
Matthew doesn't reply to that. Not with words, anyway.
He heads for your room, as you fuss with the way your jacket hangs, sending you a grin and a wave.
"What are you doing?" you ask.
His answer has your stomach dropping. "Come with Daddy and you'll find out."
This is happening, isn't it?
Your bedroom door clicks shut, and you're left standing in the living room like some kind of idiot. An idiot, because your super hot boyfriend is in there with a sexy new game to play, and you're out here fixing the cuffs and buttons on your jacket.
It would be equally as embarrassing as everything else tonight to admit that you're running to the bedroom, but you're running to the bedroom.
Inside, Matthew is lounging on your bed, changed and cozy and topless. His jeans swapped out for the spare sweats he keeps here, his usual hat and sunglasses discarded, his rib tattoo on display, he looks comfortable and mouth-wateringly good.
"Hey," he says.
He's scrolling on his phone, but he smiles as you come in and shut the door behind you.
"I'm gonna get changed," you say.
"Gonna admit you wanna play, too?" Matthew asks.
That smile has turned playful, his tongue between his teeth.
"Yeah."
"Oh, yeah?"
You return your top to the closet carefully, undressing piecemeal and buying yourself as much time as you can. "Yeah."
"Then come to Daddy."
It's instantaneous, the way you absolutely throb at his words. Butterflies in your stomach, you suspect that your panties are going to be in quite the state when you finally get down to them.
"You can't just say things like that!" you complain.
"Why not?"
"It's embarrassing."
"How's it embarrassing?" he asks, arms crossed behind his head up against the headboard. "You like it, I like it, let's go."
"It just is."
"You're makin' things hard for yourself. Don't be so high-strung, baby."
Dressed again in an oversized pajama shirt and undies - you were correct, they're soaked, and you're doomed - there's no choice but to join Matthew on the bed. He opens his arms to you, but as you go to settle yourself into his side, he redirects you onto his lap, instead. It's still secure, still nice, but much more confrontational, as he winds his arms around your waist and makes you look at him.
"Ain't it more fun to just admit you wanna try something?" he asks.
"I guess." You hate when he's right.
"Say it," he teases.
"Say what?"
"It."
"It," you repeat.
He squeezes your sides under his hands. "Not what I meant."
You know what he meant, but you're not about to just...say it.
Matthew doesn't seem to mind your hesitation, though, because he just kisses you. Hot, and dirty, tongue at the seam of your lips, holding you fast against his lap, taking his sweet time with it.
"I getcha," he says. "It needs to be natural, right, baby? You gotta wanna say it."
He's right about this too, you realize, as you consider it. But you do want to. You're embarrassed, yes, but the bone-deep feeling of want is there. This is something you want.
You just put your t-shirt on, but he's got it off you again in an instant. Easy come, easy go.
"I can feel you, y'know," Matthew murmurs.
You know what he means, but he says it anyway.
"You're gonna soak through my sweats. Hot 'n bothered, huh?"
"A little," you agree.
"Stop holdin' back," he teases.
His mouth returns, this time to your throat, where he bites down enough to make you yelp. Matthew is a lot stronger than you, and usually he's careful not to use that physical advantage too much, out of fairness and safety, but tonight he doesn't seem to care. He drags you forward a little, into him, settling you right over the bulge in his sweatpants.
"D'you want this?"
"Now you're the one holding back," you say.
He laughs, even as he bites down again, at your collarbone this time. He tweaks one of your nipples, just to hear the sound you make.
"Fine," he says, "You want Daddy's cock?"
Your punched-out moan at that one makes him laugh again.
"Imma take that as a yes."
"It's a yes," you assure him.
"Then say it."
You still can't quite say it, but that doesn't stop Matthew.
One strong arm around your back, he turns the two of you over, settling you on your back on the mattress, careful to get your head on your pillow and your thighs spread wide for him. Careful, accommodating. Taking care. Kind of definitely filling the role of-
"You gotta say it if you want it," he tells you.
His sweatpants are gone, and his boxers are gone, which makes your sticky-wet panties the last layer between the two of you.
"I know you can. I know you want it."
He's well-endowed to the point of absolute comic insanity, and you're grinding against him for just a moment of stimulation. Matthew presses another kiss to your lips, sweet this time, before dipping back down to drag your panties down your legs and off.
"Any time now."
You're practically panting. "I want..."
Matthew drags his length against you, agonizing.
"I want - fucking shit - I want...Daddy's cock."
"Good girl," he praises.
Your reward is the smooth, hot press of his cockhead inside you, the thick slide of the rest of him following. He groans. You arch into him, hands going to his shoulders, nails digging into his skin.
"C'mon, baby. Daddy wants to hear you."
Okok hear me out on this,
Ashley x Yandere!Reader
I'm curious as to how that one will play out
Can you tell I had fun writing from a Yandere POV?
Ashley Graves x Yandere!Reader
Tumblr media
You’ve seen her in passing
During the quarantine of that apartment building just down the road from your own
And while walking to the nearest bus stop to take you to your dead end job, you’d pass by the fortified building
You never paid it or its tenants much mind
Until your eyes wandered….and you spotted someone
A couple people to be exact-
Both had black hair and pale skin, a man and a woman. The man was smoking, looking out uninterested
But it wasn’t him who caught your eye…
The woman. Her messy black hair tied into a low ponytail. She was sitting precariously on the balcony’s edge, her expression as unamused as the man
She was poking him, to which he kept swatting at her hand to stop her. She didn’t.
You tried to study her features from your view point on the ground
Perhaps you stared too long, as she turned her head to look down at you
You continued to the bus stop after getting caught
But the woman still plagued your mind
She was so pretty…so alluring…
Something drew her to you
Maybe it was the fact that she was out of reach from you
Locked away in the apartment like a bird in a cage
To be observed and marveled at
Whatever drew you to her…
You loved this feeling
Your life was a routine that’s grown dull: wake up, go to work, go home, sleep, repeat.
You’d run on autopilot so long you honestly were convinced you’d become a robot
An emotionless husk traversing through life
Until you saw that woman…
….you needed to keep this feeling.
You needed to see her again.
Your steps slowed as the familiar fortified building came into your view. You’d been coming back here for a few weeks now, and each time it felt like there were more precautions put up. Ambulances too.
Your eyes worriedly scanned the balcony’s, though you released the tension in your shoulders as you spotted your caged bird. A gorgeous woman with jet black hair and captivating cherry blossom eyes. Like a beautiful raven…
She was just heading inside from the balcony, making you swear under your breath that you failed to get her earlier to observe her more. Perhaps you should start getting here earlier…
It frustrated you that you couldn’t just- walk in. Move here to have a chance to bump into her naturally rather than ogling her from the ground. It was closer to the bus stop anyways, so it was practical too.
Though…you were reminded as to why that option wasn’t available. The quarantine was just one obstacle, but the other showed his face…
Walking on to the balcony, lit cigarette in hand, the man you had first seen entered looking annoyed. Perhaps having been chewed out by your raven. He folded his arms over the edge, taking a drag of the cigarette as his eyes wandered and landed on to you.
If the woman was a raven…then this was the dog who guarded her cage. You hated the man, and he hated you. The glares he gave you for eyeing your raven made that clear enough.
You still didn’t know their relationship, but given the similar hair and features, you presumed they were related. Protective older brother perhaps.
Your poor raven…having to not only deal with being locked away, but her mean guard dog not letting her have any fun. Any enrichment. How was she supposed to be marveled and looked upon if he chewed out anyone who got too close.
You narrowed your eyes a final time before speeding up your pace. You needed to catch the bus anyway.
Even on your days off you visited
Eventually moving along like you’d go to work
Only to circle back the long way and avoid being seen
One of these days though, you caught an odd sight
You never moved so fast in your life. Hunched over in a bush, you moved some of the foliage to observe what you just witnessed.
Your raven had escaped! Joy!
….with her guard dog- less joy.
You had no idea what was going on. To your knowledge, the quarantine was still going. And from what little you saw before hiding, it appeared they had jumped the fence. So- they really did escape. They must have.
And now they were walking away…
Once a good distance, you emerged from your bush and followed suit. There was no way you were losing her. You wanted to see where she was going, just had to make sure you didn’t get caught. The two paused at a bus stop, sitting down and chatting- likely about their escape. You were hidden, as best as you could, behind a telephone pole- observing. Where were they heading?…
The bus soon rolled up, the two clambering on to god knows where.
And you followed.
You followed your raven, who you finally learned the name of from her dog barking it to her in frustration.
Ashley
A gorgeous name for a gorgeous woman
Oh- and the dog’s name was Andrew. Or whatever.
But it quickly became obvious you weren’t the only one following them
Some other bastard had tailed them just a week after you had
And you’d be damned if you were going to let him cause her harm
You leered from your hiding spot beside the motel, eyes narrowed as you looked out for the hooded figure that terrorized your Ashley. And appear he did.
He approached the motel, making his way up the stairs and opening the door. He disappeared inside. This was your chance…
You knew Ashley and her dog weren’t in there. No, they had gone….somewhere. Truthfully, you didn’t know. And you hated that you didn’t. But this was important. You unsheathed the knife you had purchased from your pocket, quietly making your way to the room. You readied your knife, raising it above your head, as you entered. The door was unlocked.
Scanning the room, there was no sign of the hooded figure. But you saw him go in here…so he was somewhere. Your eyes landed on the closet across the room, right in front of you. It stared at you menacingly, inviting you to come closer. You did.
With your knife readied, you stalked over to the wooden closet. Your hand hovered over the knob, and you took a quiet breath as you psyched yourself up for this. Opening the door unleashed an onslaught of knives flying at their opponents. You were stabbed. He was stabbed. You’re pretty sure some parts of the wall were too as you tussled with the hooded man. You managed to have the upper hand, as he seemed shocked to see you here. Likely expecting your raven.
That rage, the rage that stemmed from him likely wanting to cause your Ashley harm, fueled you in the fight. Allowing you to deliver a finishing blow to the bastard’s head. He stopped squirming. Stopped struggling. Stopped living. He was dead.
You sat there, blood coating your clothes- you couldn’t tell if it was his or your blood. You panted, staring down at his lifeless corpse underneath you. Your gaze lifted, and you couldn’t believe what you saw.
Standing in the doorway that you left open, was her. Your raven. Your cherry blossom eyed goddess. Ashley Graves. Her eyes were widened in shock, her guard dog close behind her with a conflicted look on his face. It was mainly shock from what you could gather though.
You smiled, a dopey- dumb smile as the sight of Ashley warmed your insides.
“Hello,” you greeted, like you hadn’t just killed a man, “How- How are you?”
