How the Gates Foundation Hijacked COVID-19 for Profit
After much thought and a continuing stream of new evidence coming to light, I am going to do this. This is a timeline of events leading up to and surrounding the coronavirus outbreak in late 2019. I still cannot prove that the long-lasting, breath-shortening cold many people caught in December 2019 was in anyway related to COVID-19. I also cannot find information – most likely because in 2013,…

It's my first time reading Abbey Grange but I have watched the Granada episode before. I have always loved the scene where Lady Brackenstall tells Holmes and Watson what happened the previous night, but I didn't know they changed the tone of the ACD text quite drastically! ACD shows her very angry of the way her husband treated her and wishing she could have had a divorce, while Granada has her much more understanding for her husband's addiction, saying she pitied him, and that he was proud and sensitive and withdrew when under the influence.
I always interpreted that scene in a certain way but now that I know they changed it, I can't stop thinking this was deliberately done to mirror Holmes's and Watson's relationship, and for Holmes to sheepishly lower his eyes, sharing a moment of understanding with Watson. (Here is the scene I'm talking about.)

Hello!
Last year I was diagnosed with Attenuated Psychosis Symdrome, but when I go looking for reading material to learn more about it, I mostly either get scientific articles (which I have trouble understanding) or debates on whether it's even real or not :(
If you have the time, would you be able to help find some reading material on the subject that has a bit of an easier reading level?
Hey friend!
I found an article that states:
“The main features of attenuated psychosis syndrome parallel of the prodromal phase of schizophrenia. The person has very low-grade symptoms that can include as delusions, hallucinations, or disorganized speech, and the symptoms have been present for short period of time and worsened, but the symptoms are below the level of severity that would warrant a diagnosis of a psychotic disorder, such as schizophrenia.
As this is a condition for further study and not an actual diagnosis, there is no information regarding its prevalence, any co-occurring conditions, or other information that would normally be included with the description of a formal diagnostic category in the DSM-5. The condition is considered to be potentially useful in determining a potential risk that someone may develop a full-blown psychotic disorder such as schizophrenia. Some individuals who meet the specifications for attenuated psychosis syndrome are eventually diagnosed with a psychotic disorder, and some are not.”
Reading on the National Library of Medicine states:
The proposed diagnostic criteria for Attenuated Psychosis Syndrome in DSM - 5:
At least one of the following of symptoms is present in attenuated form [having been reduced in force, effect, or value], and is of sufficient severity or frequency to warrant clinical attention:
Delusions
Hallucinations
Disorganized speech.
Symptom(s) must have been present at least once per week [over a month span]
Symptom(s) must have begun or worsened in the past year
Symptom(s) is sufficiently distressing and disabling to the individual to warrant clinical attention.
Symptom(s) is not better explained by another mental disorder, including: Depressive or bipolar disorder with psychotic features and is not attributable to physiological effects of a substance or another medical condition,
Criteria for any psychotic disorder have never been met.
It looks like its being less debated on being real and more so finetuned before being approved as a formal DSM5 diagnosis.
I don't know if this was made easier to read than the medical journals, so if you have more questions feel free to shoot them over.

Attenuate
[read on ao3]
Rating: Explicit | 3k words, complete
Fandom: DCU | Pairing: Clark Kent/Bruce Wayne
Summary: Bruce has specific wants and questionable methods, to Clark’s chagrin. Fortunately, Clark is quick to acquiesce. For @bottombrucetober, day 25: strength kink
“Has anyone ever told you you’re an asshole?” “Usually not to my face.” “I guess it’s your lucky day, then.” A few inches of space separates him from Bruce, and he can feel the heat of his body rolling between them. Bruce’s hands rest on Clark’s shoulders, light enough to be mistaken for a lover’s touch. He sparks into motion fast enough to surprise Clark whose attention is all spent on watching the blue in Bruce’s eyes drown in black—his lips slam into Clark’s at the same time Clark’s shoulders slam into the wall, enough force in the push to rattle the windows and the paintings on the wall. The noise is loud enough to have Clark expecting emergency sirens within the minute, but a stretch of his hearing finds only two heartbeats in the manor. One is steadily speeding up, while the other trails behind.  “Not yet,” Bruce murmurs against his mouth. He’s breathy and starving and just a little bit dangerous.

Writblr Intro (Round 2)
Hey, everyone! Figured it was time to update my intro.
Call me Hendo, she/her, early twenties. I write fantasy, science-fiction, and sometimes horror, all with an emphasis on characterization over plot. In my longer manuscripts, there are always dragons, a casually queer cast, and at least one explosion.
I'm happy to do beta swaps under 15k, or honestly even longer depending on what my work schedule is that week. Said work schedule varies between "I'm basically on paid vacation for the next month" to "oh shit oh shit oh shit" without much warning, so, uh, yeah.
Tag and ask games are always welcome. If you ever just want to pop by and chat, maybe to say hi, maybe to work out a sticky plot thread, maybe to talk characters or editing, I'm here for it!
My WIPs
Let me know if you'd like to be added to the taglist for anything.
Reverberate | new-adult | complete, 124k | researching agents
A young special ops soldier sets out to find and kill the shareholders who murdered her family, but revenge becomes complicated when she discovers her brother imprisoned in a facility universally infamous for its mental reprogramming.
found-family/family as a choice, introspective narration, stoicism, revenge, space roombas
WIP intro | tag: attenuate/reverberate
Prince for Hire | new-adult | draft 3, 110k | doing a paper edit
A prophetic con-artist is tricked into becoming a prince and entering a conquering empress' Competition to rule the region.
rags-to-riches, learning to forgive, first steps of romance/learning to trust, magic causes more problems than it solves
WIP intro | Comic Sans intro | tag: princeforhire, pfh editing, pfh d2, pfh d3
Tyrant for Sale (working title) | new-adult | drafting, projected 100k
An assassin, a prophet, and a golden-boy prince, and their attempts to overthrow the assassin's father's tyrannical empire
Dunno what it'll feature yet but there does seem to be a wyvern, massive trust issues, and an old prophet's cave?
No WIP intro yet | tag: princeforhire2

Oh actually I can think of some attempts at "middle ground" by one historian in particular: Jean-Clément Martin. Which is quite ironic because he is much more of a defender of Robespierre than even Peter MacPhee is. But I think that's precisely the reason - when one's ideas can be perceived as somewhat radical in the field of history, today's compulsion seems to be to temper them with some "reasonable" "balanced" "moderate" views, to avoid a perceived weakening of the overall argument.
Martin's attempts involved, I feel, erasing Robespierre's at least symbolic importance - and thus in the political psyche and public opinion, extensive perceived influence during the end of his lifetime - to present him as "a deputee amongst others", and refusing any contemporary reclaiming of the Frev by Left parties because he can't accept the politisation of the Revolution's ideas as their natural continuation. If anything, I find the lack of nuance in these statements to undermine his work.

Local Action
Vaccines are typically injected into an arm muscle, including those recently developed against SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19. Yet coronaviruses first infect the mucous membranes in our respiratory tract, in the nose, mouth, throat and lungs. Administering vaccines intranasally, to target those frontline areas, could allow us to respond to infection faster. Nasal vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 have already been developed in India and China, but researchers are now testing a new intranasal live-attenuated vaccine, containing a modified virus. Tests in hamsters found it highly effective: very few SARS-CoV-2 particles (in brown) penetrated their nasal mucous membranes after double vaccination with the intranasal vaccine (top left) or even a combination of one intranasal dose with an existing mRNA vaccine (bottom left), compared to poor results after intramuscular vaccination only (right-hand panels). Following up these encouraging results with safety and efficacy trials in humans could provide new options for future vaccination.

people who actually don't have a choice in having high costs relative to the income they are able to obtain: the chronically sick, the disabled, etc get an absolutely miserable, below subsistence level income from social security and equivalent across most of the developed world
people who are fully abled, capable of having decent income-generating jobs, immediately benefit from large tax writeoffs (12k in my country! that's 15% of the median fulltime wage btw) upon popping out kids, far more generous in how much disposable income they free up for these people, as compared to the first group.
i just don't think it's fair, and if we are talking about 'who most needs and deserves public financial support via state money?' then sowwy but adults with a variety of choices and financial stability available to them - who happen to want babie - are by far not my first choice.
they are however the state's first choice, because to the state you are tax-, rent-, and insurance-paying cattle, so of course they want to incentivize you to have kids who will be paying into it, and they don't give a fuck about starving the people who can't be a net tax positive.
