Jealousy, Jealousy.
☁️ neteyam x fem! Omaticaya Reader
🧷 warning: angst, jealousy, fluff.
📑Neteyam is giving you the silent treatment and you have no idea why.
Tumblr media
He shrugged you off again, with no reasoning— no explanation, he wordlessly ignored the way you had waved out to him from the water. He just scoffed and continued walking toward the marui pods. You huff, barely hiding how it’s ruined your mood by the slight frown that now graces your features.
“What’s his problem?” Ao’nung tuts as his ilu nudges yours. You shrug, lost as to why he was acting so cold toward you. You had fled the forest with the Sully family almost two months ago now, seeking refuge in the reefs with the na’vi of the sea— you had finally begun to settle in with the people, started to make friends with the locals.
Despite his faults and bitter treatment toward your friends, you had grown closest to Ao’nung. He mentored you the most when you had first arrived so naturally you two grew close. Swimming after training had concluded, sharing dinner with him even if it were just the two of you— exploring other parts of the village with him. He stopped mostly being an ass to the others because of you but he still had his moments.
“I’ll go check on him. I’ll be back” You hum before you swim toward the shore with your Ilu. You try and think of what to approach him with, you figured he wouldn’t just straight up tell you why he was upset but you hoped he would.
You find him in his family’s marui pod, his back turned to the entrance as he occupies himself with something. You greet Neytiri who gives you a knowing look— one that tells you her son is upset before she nods and leaves the pod.
“Nete” You say lowly, cursing silently at yourself for sounding so nervous. Your voice didn’t come out as loud as you wanted it to and you were glued to the spot you were standing on.
“Neteyam” You call for him again when he makes no movement— no effort to acknowledge your presence. He spares you a glance, turning his head slightly he scoffs at the sight of you.
“Stop doing that” You huff, stepping closer into the pod. You still kept your distance though, you didn’t want to overstep your boundaries— especially when he seemed this upset with you.
“Just leave me alone” He mutters, barely audible but you manage to catch the sentence. You sigh heavily, fiddling with your fingers nervously as you try to reason with him.
“Please don’t be like this, Nete. I’m sorry for…” Before you can even finish your sentence he stands and turns to face you. A warning look on his face— eyes dark and jaw tense as he shakes his head.
“Save your apologies. Just get out” He demands, his tone starkly different to the soft one you’re used to. He’s a sweet boy who’s never raised his voice at you— not even when you were kids, seeing him like this made your chest ache. You hesitate, silently staring at him with a saddened look on your face before you turn to leave.
His silence toward you continues over the next few days. He won’t even let you get a word in before he storms off to ‘train’. He’s even started to ignore you in front of his family now, during dinner he’ll purposely sit away from you and won’t bother passing the bowls of food to you. You two would be inseparable at dinner time, he’d always make sure he was seated next to you even if Tuk begged him to move. Now he couldn’t stand to be anywhere near you and you have no idea why.
You’re training with Tsireya and Ao’nung as a whole group when you finally decide you’ve had enough of his bitter treatment. You’re all working on your breathing techniques offshore— sitting in a circle whilst facing each other, you try to keep your eyes off of Neteyam who’s yet again sitting as far away as possible.
“Neteyam, when will you start talking to y/n again?” Tuk whispers to her older brother, you smile to yourself at how innocent she is. She doesn’t realise you’ve over heard her but you pretend you don’t notice, continuing to work on your breathing.
“When she stops talking to Ao’nung” Neteyam mutters back, this time you can’t play dumb— his words cause you to look at him. So that’s what this is about, Ao’nung. You should’ve figured earlier from the way Neteyam would grow cold every time you’d mention the chief’s son in conversations. You hardly missed the way Neteyam would look at him in an irritated way.
When training finishes for the day and you all make your way back to the marui— you hang back to trail behind with Neteyam. When he tries to speed up and lose you, you grab ahold of his hand and pull him back.
“Stop, we’re talking, right now” You seethe, frustrated with the way he’s been carelessly shrugging you off. You’ve had enough of it and now that you knew why he’d been acting this way, you could confront him.
“But..”
“Now, Neteyam” You demand, causing him to raise his eyebrows in surprise at your tone. You let go of his hand and allow him to follow you further away from the others.
“You’ve been ignoring me because you’re jealous of Ao’nung” You confront him, watching as a look of denial grows on his face.
“Seriously, why would I be jealous of fish lips?”
“Don’t play stupid. I heard what you said to Tuk” You hear him exhale heavily before he nods wordlessly, trying to form a sentence to explain himself. He seems to be struggling, his face warm at the thought of confessing such a big secret to you, so you grasp ahold of his hands.
“It’s just me, Nete. You can tell me anything, I’ll understand” You reassure him, feeling him squeeze your hands before he nods.
“Seeing you grow closer with Ao’nung hurt me. I see the way he touches you, smiles and looks at you. He doesn’t just see you as a friend. You spend so much time with him now, I’m scared he’ll take you away from me. That you won’t need me anymore” He speaks so softly and looks so vulnerable you feel your heart ache for him. You didn’t like seeing him so pained and you feel guilty you’re the reason for it.
“Oh, Nete. He may be my friend but he could never replace you, i’ll always need you” You murmur, before allowing him to continue.
“I love you, y/n. More than a friend, than family. There’s a reason why I’ve never called you my sister like the others have— I want you to be more than that” Neteyam leans forward, placing a kiss on your cheek— allowing it to linger before he pulls away.
“I see you” He whispers, closing his eyes to lean his forehead against yours— your hands automatically moving to rest against his chest. You lean into him, sighing heavily as you feel your heart pound in your chest. You feel relieved as you recite the same words back to him.
“I see you” You hum before gently pressing your lips against his, he reacts instantly— his hand moving to cup your cheek, thumb stroking the skin beneath it. Before you get too carried away, you pull away and place a quick peck on his cheek before leading him back to the marui pods.
“You had to cut that off short?” He groans as his arm wrap around your waist to pull you closer to him. You let out a laugh as you nudge him.
“Sorry, you’ll get more later”
a/n: idk about the ending it’s giving corny but i’m still grieving Neteyam so I need this 🤲🏼

lo'ak and neteyam headcannons - random tid bits and some relationship stuff (sfw) ୨୧𓂅⊹⋆
i know it's been a hot minute since i last released content but anyways here are some headcannons absolutely no one asked for
okay so i've been adding more and more to this every time i think of it but this is basically little bits things that i've been adding more and more to over time - nothing explicit! i like writing fluff better ngl
neteyam
he's suupperrr clingy when you're lying in ur hammock together, like bro will not let go of you
he knows all the words to taylor swift's all to well 10 min version AND IS PROUD OF IT
he likes to come up behind you and tug on your tail - you PRETEND it freaks you out but you both know that isn't true
he is a l w a y s worried about his siblings - lo'ak the most but he is so protectove of tuk and kiri it drives them nuts
he loves the intimacy of you healing him - like you getting really close and having to sit on his lap and clean his cuts sometimes, he feels so connected to you
he tips really well. you guys could've spent like 10 dollars at a restaurant but he tips like 50 bucks - "i'm too lazy to do math rn"
he's such a grandpa he goes to sleep at 9:30 and wakes up at 6:30 without fail every night and STILL takes naps throughout the day
lo'ak
if you guys are hanging out in a group and he's talking and you're watching him, every time he catches your eye HE STARTS STUTTERING A LOSING HIS TRAIN OF THOUGHT
his ikran is super sassy like every time he decides to do something stupid his ikran goes faster than intended and scares the absolute balls out of lo'ak just to teach him a lesson
lo'ak can n e v e r keep still - he's the type to just always be fiddling or squirming around
he's actually the biggest sap ever, his favourite movie is the Notebook and it makes him cry every time
he would never tell you because he thinks it's cringe asf, but sometimes he purposely injures himself just so you can heal him, he likes how worried you are about him and how you lovingly scold him for being an idiot
this is super short ik but it's genuinely all i have the time and energy for atm, enjoy ily all xx

Hey there! Is has been a while (like a long while) since I have posted but I am back and better than ever! I just want to get your guy's opinion on a fic idea.
I plan on making and writing a fic of a clan that is known for butterflies and their craft and other good stuff. I have already gotten the idea of who the main character is and who her sisters will be. I will be using face claims of mine and if you want to see more or use any of them, please ask first and I would Obsoletly let ya!
Main character (the eldest daughter named Siaem):
Tumblr media
The second eldest(Arao):
Tumblr media
The third daughter(Kivur):
Tumblr media
The fourth daughter(Pamlu):
Tumblr media
The youngest(Euta):
Tumblr media
I know, a lot of daughters, but my friend liked the idea and he chose these so I trust his opinion. I have what type of clothing they wear, what kind of homes they will live in, the creatures they interact with on a daily basis, and their sacred space that they use to commune with Eywa, but the only problem I have is the plot and that is where you guys come in! I would really appreciate ideas for plot and I will be sure to look over them.
I would probably only post maybe once or twice a week since I now work full time, but I will do my best to post on time! I hope to hear your lovely ideas and if you want to request anything just ask! 💙

ok but imagine neteyam accidentally slipping his finger inside you while telling you how you were so fucking pretty when dancing at the clan party
warnings — obviously neteyam is a whore for you, that’s a big warning also fingering, neteyam rutting to the floor chasing for orgasm like you, phrasing you like english teacher for real
“sucking me in” ︎— neteyam sully (⨳)
neteyam’s the boyfriend that would actually start to finger you accidentally while he’s giving you a thigh massage? or that’s his excuse to put you under him while his finger are sunk in deep in you.
“‘teyam” you’d moan when you feel him curl his two fingers inside you, “you looked so pretty today baby.” he would place a soft kiss on the corner of your mouth. “fucking gorgeous while swaying your body like that.”
he would pull his finger out causing you to whine under him ay the sudden lose of him filling you up. “no, please” you’d beg unreasonably making him grin proud. fuck he was so lucky to be mated with you.
neteyam would gather your slick arousal and use it to rub your sensitive clit making your thighs quiver. “i…” you try to form words failing miserably. “so good for me, you’ve no idea.” he’d keep praising you.
“fuck, princess” neteyam would cuss, feeling his now fully hard bulge twitching for attention. he slowly pushes his fingers inside you while he starts to rut his hips to the floor next to you.
if it wasn’t for your fucked up state, you would’ve been giggling at his facial expression. not much seconds pass as you’re gasping for air, the stimulation beginning to feel too much.
you swallow hard but winch when your dry throat contracts. “neteyam,” you’d wrap your fingers on his right hand to attempt latching him away from you but no. “take it, pretty girl. stop pushing me away” he’d start to finger you fast.
“i’m gonna…” you can’t even finish the words. “cum for me baby, make me proud yeah?” once you let go of the bubble that’s kept inside you, your mate growls at the sight of your gush pooling down his knuckle.
“neteyam no! ew!” you would say when he shamefully brings his hand to his mouth and sucks on his finger that’s drenched with your cum. “mhm” the sight in front of you makes your thigh shake.
“so fucking delicious, princess” he would say before leaning dow to kiss you as of making you taste yourself. “see?” he would say and seal his lips to yours again.
i’d do anything to have this with them sully boys :(
yes i’m a whore for them btw, likes and reblogging are super appreciated and not pressured i love each and everyone of you sm <3

Okay okay but hear me now imagine you the reader you're traveling with Katara, Sokka and Aang along the way you get up your fortune told by Aunt Woo Who told you in the future you will be married to a great and powerful Lord, you of course don't see that happening cuz you don't really have an interest in dating let alone marriage and didn't see yourself as someone worth being loved years go by you and Zuko are friends even though it was hard for you to get used to him being part of the group you two were civil and as you guys got older and became closer to the point that the other word was involved you like Zuko he loved you and you guys hit your twenties he started giving you gifts and other stuff, Katara mentioned that he might be courting you which you were confused about then she mentioned about the time you all went to Aunt Wou and about your Fortune then you start to remember that you were to marry a Lord of course you didn't take this seriously and just shrugged it off and just told Katara that there's no way possible and that you didn't believe it but the whole conversation makes you not be able to sleep at night cuz now you're now in your room pacing that you might get married to Zuko who's the only Lord that you are well acquainted with and around your age it's to the point you start avoiding him and being awkward, and yes he is courting you and is planning to ask you to marry him in the near future when every is right and wants to ask your parents or guardians blessings

Jake wants to try out his new avatar body and who better than to help him other than his favourite scientist?
warnings; 18 + Jake being cocky, size kink, dirty talk, overstim, p in v, little bit of fingering, Avatar!Jake & Human!Reader, unprotected sex,  Jake is kinda just focused on his pleasure first, use of y/n, lotta petnames, use of little one, whole lotta jake saying fuck, absolutely toe curling orgasm, little rushed at one point.
Tumblr media
"you're tiny." he whispered, towered over you, staring intently down at you with those amber eyes. his head skimmed the roof of your laboratory. large blue hands held the top of your thighs, soft flesh grasped between his fingers. "you gonna look after me?"
all you could do was nod. your sun dress was pulled up past your waist, you were on display fully exposed for him.
"I'm gonna need to hear you say't, little one." the name was a power move, he was bigger than you. you were an ant compared to him and he was in complete control.
"am gonna look after you, jake." you whispered, but his eyes weren't trained on your face anymore. instead, they were entranced by the way he spread your thighs apart, painfully slow, and the oh so annoying piece of white fabric hiding the sight of your cunt from him. his large fingers hooked around the fabric, pulling it to the side.
"fuck," one sharp intake of breath and his eyes were back on yours, both of your chests rising and falling in unison. "aren't you a pretty little thing?" his fingers slid over your wet folds, fingers only slightly brushing over your sensitive clit.
the simplest touch made you shudder with a gasp, it made him smirk to know how sensitive you were, to know that he had the power to make you feel like this.
"you ready?" too distracted by jake's enormous presence, you hadn't taken the to notice his stiff cock resting by the side of your thigh, and boy was it big.
you gulped, mouth opening and closing like a lost goldfish. you were completely lost for words and it made him laugh..
the most obnoxious laugh you had heard and his eyes glinted. "c'mon," he shook his head "you can do it, do it for me, pretty." his soft hands brushed hair away from your face as he laid you down.
your eyes train on the ceiling of your lab when you heard a whispered "in the way." and then a heart-pounding ripping noise, you lifted your head only for it to be pushed back down "s'kay, baby.'
"stay still for me m'kay?" you squeezed your eyes shut, the feeling of his hard cock pushing against your tight hole made you shiver.
"atta girl." he grunted, stock still to let you adjust to his length. when you had you gave a him a small nod and he wasted no time in pulling himself out, pushing himself in agonisingly slow.
his lips finally cascaded over yours, slow and sweet. he was still finding his bearings in his new form and you, you were still getting used to the feeling of something so new, something so exciting.
"jake," you mewled, head rolling backwards on the table. you gasped with a shaky breath as his hips snapped into your pelvis as an answer to his name "faster." you murmured your plea.
"what was that?" he  leant into your. his hand gripped your waist, large fingers digging into the flesh and snapping his hips again "gotta speak up, baby or i don't know what you want."
his words alone made your back arch. your hand slid up his arm, gripping at his elbow as your body juttered with his surprise thrusts and after a few tries you managed to raise your raise "faster," you reached your face to his, lips only centimetres apart "please."
that was all he needed, his lips crashed onto yours. they were soft, nibbling at the skin of the your bottom lip. he pushed his tongue in, there was no fight for dominance. he was already in full control of you.
with one sudden movement, your legs were pressed to your chest and you could feel the movement of jake, he was deep inside of you, thrusts relentless and rhythmic. he was feral.
"that's it, take it all," your sweet moans and half lidded eyes only boosted his ego more and fuelled his feverish lust, your hips bucked up "taking me so fucking well, baby."
"s'too much." you felt his thrusts become harsher, shaking his head he let out an incoherent murmur, you were in a daze. you could swear you saw a picture of heaven in your minds eye "feels too good."
"look at you, all drunk on my fucking cock, all fucked out like a cockslut," you swear you could hear him whimper as his head fell into the crook of your neck, kissing at all the sweets spots he could find and savouring your lewd moans "m' so close, baby. just, fuck, hold on a little longer."
he knew you were close too, he could tell by the way your cunt clenched around his cock. it made his mind go completely blank, all he could was you, you were a fucking angel sent from above to him.
you felt his hand cup your cheek, well more like your face since his hands were now so big, "look at me." he whispered past a groan and you let your eyes flutter open to meet his amber eyes, the same glint from before still dazzling.
he let out a strained moan. his hips snapped once again, grip on your throat tightening.
"cum for me, show me how good i make you feel." he was almost begging you, the once dominant jake centred on his own self pleasure and trying out his new form completely lost in his moment of pleasure.
all you did was look at his face, his jaw clenched, and you felt that familiar knot tighten in your stomach, you whimpered.
"i'm gonna," but before you could finish, your vision went blurry, your pleasure peaked and you felt yourself crumble beneath and the tightened grip on your waist signalled that the same was happening to him, you came undone underneath him and you felt him pull out, felt the emptiness of him gone.
his body collapsed, one hand holding him upright on the table to keep him from crushing you under his bodyweight, you closed your eyes, catching your breath before you attempted to push yourself up, only to be stopped by a grip on your waist.
''uh uh," he tutted,
"you're not going anywhere."

Omg that kuvira sub req was lit! Could you do one for Zuko please? Maybe after he’s become fire lord?
I decided that instead of writing nsfw, to just make it angst to fluff. Sorry that it's not what you asked for ,but this is what I got.
Genre:Friends with benefits to enemies to lovers ,angst to fluff,
Tw: mentions of trauma, burning and leaving a scar.
Zuko x Fem reader
Tumblr media
Ever since you ran away from Zuko to help the avatar restore peace to the world, you kept thinking that he would let go of you.
But no, you can't catch a damn break, since you ran away he's been chasing you. He swore to find you.
How? You have no clue. But you never doubted his devotion for this cause, you knew that Zuko had that burning will in him.
I mean, you were his soldier, and things between you two were...complicated.
Sometimes you would have heart to heart conversations. Maybe about your life,or what you would be in the future, and other times it was just making out after a stressful day. But you never did more than that,he wanted you ,and you wanted him but there was always something holding you back.
Now this is something that fuels Zuko, his need for revenge is powered by those moments between you two. And not only that, but if he finds you he also finds the Avatar. Which is the perfect reason for him.
You get to be punished for treason, and at the same time he would finally have his honor restored. That's what he says to himself at night. It's not like he wants more.
So for months, almost a year he searched for The avatar, and for you, each time you managed to slip right trough his fingers.
The last time he saw you was at the northern water tribe, when he tried capturing Aang you fought Zuko while Katara protected the younger boy. Zuko knew he could do so much damage to you,but he simply couldn't.
You unfortunately lost, after all Zuko was stronger than you. You both knew it,but it never stopped you before.
You tried talking to him,you always thought that if you got a chance you would be able to at least get him to think of another way,a better way. Maybe this way things wouldn't be so complicated between you two.
But no matter how much you tried,he was just too stubborn.
You tried putting a fight again,he was so angry that he didn't even realize with what force he sent that fire at you,not even throwing you a second glance.
Too blinded by anger, now that you weren't in his way anymore he went for Aang.
If you wouldn't have blacked out you would've saw the way Katara fought the prince, after all he harmed you, and wanted to take Aang away.
You woke up on Appa,Katara was tending to your burn mark, trying to completely heal it.
"I'm sorry (Name),but it's going to leave a pretty big scar here." Her hand would lay on your shoulder comforting.
It was rough looking in the mirror, but you started getting used to it. The bad part was when you started having nightmares of your fight with the prince, the burning feeling awaking you in cold sweat.
You healed with time, fortunately for you,the prince and you didn't meet again after that. You split from the team,it was necessary for you to find a way to heal the scar that Zuko left in your mind.
Imagine the shock on your face when you finally got reunited with your friends. To see Zuko there was something you never expected. Deep inside you knew he could change but never actually thought he would.
He would be so awkward, and yeah he would talk to himself, trying to find the right way to apologize to you for hunting you down and kicking your ass. It was also this little thing, he never realized how much you affected him when you were around until you left, and it drove him mad. Never quite understanding why.
He kept his distance from you, mostly because he didn't really know how to approach you. It's not that he's as mad as he was before when you betrayed him, but it's still awkward.
So you two just stayed away from each other. The group could see something was up with you two,I mean they knew about your scar and journey ,but Zuko didn't.
Nobody told him about the scar he left on you back then, and you never confronted him about it.
One night when you wanted to take your mind away from all that's happening ,you found yourself in the lake near your camp.
A swim would do you good.
Unfortunately for you ,that's what the young prince also had in mind.
He was left speechless once he saw your naked form in the water. A certain part of you got his attention, your back.
There was this big part of your shoulder all the way to your waist that was just burned.
And then it clicked, when he fought you in the north water tribe,he did this.
"Stop staring." You speak, loud enough for him to hear you, getting deeper into the water so your back would no longer be visible to his longing stare.
"I wasn't staring." He turns his head away embarrassed, his face hot just thinking that you caught him staring at your form. He acted like a pervert. How could he be so stupid?
Zuko quickly took off, not allowing you to say anything else.
He spent the night thinking, about you ,your scar your body. It annoyed him so much that all he could think was you.
So he left the next day with Sokka, on a mission to free Sokka and katara's dad from a high security prison. Totally no big deal.
Each day he spent there he hoped he could get you off his mind, but no matter how hard he tried you were just stuck on him.
Let's just say that he had some pretty unusual taughts while he was locked away.
After he saw Sokka with Suki he got this weird feeling, it was some inside him pushing him to be this way, with you.
So there he was, back at the camp with a complete mission, trying to find a way to speak to you. And he couldn't really bring up the last time he saw you, 'Yeah I saw you naked and I stared at you, wanna date?' no way in hell, unless he wants to be seen as the biggest creep ever.
"Mind if I sit?" Zuko's eyes dart up at you,he didn't even hear you coming her.
"No one's stoping you." You sit down next to him, noticing how he quickly looks away.
"It's been a while huh?" Your eyes look up at the dark starry sky, hoping he's willing to talk to you.
Zuko furrows his brows, searching for the right words to say. He never had to think so hard while talking to you,why is it so hard now?
"I won't bite if you say something." You nudge him with your elbow, sending his thoughts away for now.
"Listen,I'm really sorry for what I did to you back in the north,I was just so blinded by my desire for honor that I was willing to cut trough-" your lips stop Zuko from saying another word, already hearing what you wanted.
He's sorry for hurting you,and he admitted that he was blindly chasing something useless, and that's all you wanted to hear from him.
He whidens his eyes for a second, finally realizing what's happening he cups your cheek with one hand and closes his eyes, kissing you back.
You break the kiss, looking at his face for any sign of reluctance. But all you can see in his eyes is this soft look,it's really cute.
"You have no idea how much I wanted to hear that from you." You whisper, afraid that if you would speak any louder you would break this comfortable feeling around you.
He smiles, closing his eyes. All this time he thought so much , wondering how your next interaction would go,or what would you say to him.
He missed the kisses, soft ones were his favorite, but the making out had a tool on him too.
"I missed this." He speaks, hand trailing down your lip, carefully touching it.
"I never thought you'd forgive me." Zuko allows his head to meet with yours gently stroking your cheek.
"Thank you for becoming a better version of yourself."you smile, placing your hands on his wrist in a gentle manner.
"Okay what's going on here?" Sokka looks at the two of you like he witnessed a war crime. Did he drink cactus juice without realizing??
I couldn't do it.
I couldn't write Zuko smut yet ,I'm sorry 😭

Jake sully thoughts !! MDNI
Tumblr media
You gasp, arching your back as he pushes it in deeper. His girth forces your walls to stretch. A filthy squelching noise leaves your heat.
“Y’good?” Jake coos. He has you in missionary. His dreads swing with his movements. “Danglin’ in your face huh?” He teases. You lightly moan, your hands look for the sides of his hips. “Ya like it? Ya always touchin’ me.” He notes the way you grip his body.
“Mmm hmm…” your eyes flutter shut when he reaches in to kiss you. Your legs wrap around him. He’s so much bigger than you. So much stronger. Way bulkier. You can grab onto him so easily.
He picks up the pace, starting to growl. He bares his teeth. You can feel his cock starting to thrust into your cunt harder. Gradually, his noises blend in with yours as he begins to slam his hips. Your hands rapidly feel around him.
“Need ya so bad, Jake,” you whimper. Your nails dig into his muscular back and you hear him hiss. You feel your skin start to heat up, it can grows shiny with arousal and sweat.
“Yeah, yeah. Know ya do. I know ya wouldn’t take it so well if ya didn’t love me so much, yeah?”
His words make you melt. You throw your head back. Your noises of pleasure grow louder. His hand travels up to your breast, before he slaps your tit quickly. Color rushes to it. You yelp.
“Talk back to me, hon.’ Tell me how good it is. I fuck ya so good, right? Who else has ya like this?” He smacks your other tit.
“Yeah, yes sir. Only you. Only you, promise.” You open your eyes to make eye contact with him, his pupils fill. “You’re the best for me.”
His ego almost explodes.
“That’s right, that’s right-“ he grabs the back of your neck. “Ready to cum, cum all over my cock?”

Headcanons for how lo’ak, Neteyam, and aonung would be when dating you? Maybe some dates they would like to do etc :)
Boyfriend Headcannons
💭— How Neteyam, Lo’ak and Ao’nung would be as your boyfriend.
🧷 — this is my first time doing headcannons so hopefully it’s good :)
Neteyam
Neteyam is the type of boyfriend who would randomly give you gifts. It doesn’t even have to be a special occasion— he’ll give you something sentimental just because. When he goes out diving with the other boys he always finds pretty shells that he finds to give to you. He always says they remind him of you.
He was too shy to ask you out at first, too concerned about whether or not he’d be over stepping his boundaries especially since he didn’t know how you felt. Lo’ak being Lo’ak— ‘accidentally’ blurted it out to you one day that Neteyam liked you, which resulted in Neteyam beating him but also confessing his feelings to you. The rest happened from there.
He’s protective over you, but in a healthy way. He doesn’t mind you being around other guys, he trusts you so he doesn’t worry. He knows you’re clumsy so he’s always looking out for you, holding your hand to help guide you if you’re walking on uneven surfaces, tending to your wounds if you get any from training and making sure you’re fed. He won’t let you leave his marui until he knows you’ve eaten.
“Have you eaten enough?” He’ll ask you for the fifth time. You nod, unable to reply because your mouth is full. “Yes, Nete. I’m fine— I’ll see you later” You laugh, finding amusement in the fact your boyfriend is so caring. He’ll let you leave, giving you a kiss before he cleans up the rest of the food.
When you get into arguments with him and you both need space, it doesn’t last long. Neteyam hates being away from you, especially when he knows you’re both upset at each other. So he’ll find you wherever you are with an apology ready. You can’t resist him either so your grudge against him never holds.
When he takes you on dates, he’ll always make sure they’re special and well thought out. He chooses scenic places, brings food he knows you like and he’ll always give you something as a gift— even if it’s something small. Lo’ak likes to tease Neteyam about it but you find it sweet how seriously he’ll take your dates. He’ll take you to watch the sunset or sit on a quieter part of the beach— he even sang you a song once.
Neteyam is always affectionate. He’s not afraid to show you how much he loves you— even though his siblings tease him for it. He’s clingy when he wants to be but he knows when to give you space. He’s big on physical touch, he’ll have his arm wrapped around you or hand clasped with yours when you’re walking around. He hugs you randomly and loves when you sleep next to him.
Lo’ak
Even though Lo’ak has the biggest mouth and never struggles to speak his mind— he found it difficult to tell you how he felt about you. He had a crush on you for years, always concealing it by teasing you and treating you like a friend— but really he was dying to tell you otherwise. “Just tell her” Neteyam would nudge him after catching his younger brother gazing at you from afar. “Stop” He would tut, shrugging off Neteyam before he had a little talk with himself to muster up the courage before he walks over to you.
As your boyfriend, Lo’ak is over protective. He trusts you, but he doesn’t trust other guys so it’s more than likely that he’ll start fights over you or drag you away from a group if there are too many guys there. You reassure him countless times that he doesn’t have to worry and after a while he chills out more, but he’ll still keep an eye on you if he thinks someone’s being too touchy with you.
Lo’ak finds being affectionate kind of cringey so he wouldn’t be so open with it— but he still shows you how much he cares when you’re alone. He’ll smother you, kiss you and cling onto you even when he knows he’s being a bit much. “You’re suffocating me” You huff, struggling to breathe as Lo’ak pulls you closer into his body. You’ve been cuddling in bed for an hour now and he refuses to let you get out of bed. “Just deal with it babe”
Lo’ak takes you on romantic dates and he’ll choose scenic places too. He’s naturally adventurous so he’ll sometimes put you both at risk with some of the places he’ll take you. “I thought you said this was safe?” You question him as you find yourself stepping over some old abandoned aircraft stuck in a tree. “Babe chill, we’ll be fine” He says this moments before the weight of you both causes it to collapse and fall, the both of you just managing to escape. You lectured him the whole walk home and he promised to make it up to you next time.
When you fight, it’ll take a while for you both to get over it. You’re both stubborn so you accept that giving each other silent treatment is what you need. He usually caves first, after watching you from afar and giving himself shit for making you upset— he’ll finally get over himself and go apologise to you. “I’m an asshole. Please forgive me?” He’ll plead, nudging you and causing you to look at him. You give in instantly, standing to give him a hug before you kiss his cheek.
Lo’ak gives you gifts he’ll know you like but most of them are hand made jewellery or random trinkets he’s found. He knows you’re not picky but he still tries to make an effort.
He teaches you curse words that he grew up hearing his dad sometimes say. Your boyfriend sometimes takes advantage of the fact you’re unaware of what the bad words are and he’ll teach you anyway. You’ll be in their hut practicing with Lo’ak when Jake overhears, scolding his son for being immature. “Lo’ak, cut that out” He’ll tut, causing your boyfriend to smile at you apologetically before he says sorry.
Ao’nung
Ao’nung is the hardest to get through to. He’s stubborn and he doesn’t like to express how he feels— even more so toward you because he likes you so much. He pretends to not like you, always teasing you, leaving you behind when you dive together and hinting for you to leave the friend group. He would rather get beaten by Neteyam and Lo’ak again than to see you leave but he wouldn’t tell you that. He’s too busy trying to throw you off his trail. His sister is the one who convinces him to just be honest with you. “She’s got a good heart. I know she’ll feel the same, even though you’re a skxawng” She scolds him, pushing his head as she walks off to leave him with his thoughts. He’ll eventually end his act to finally go up to you and ask you out.
As your boyfriend, Ao’nung keeps a close eye on you. He’s protective, he doesn’t vocalise it often but you see it in the way he’ll silently look out for you. He’ll help you without you asking, already by your side before you can even call out to him. When you get hurt if you’re out hunting or diving, he’ll scold you and he can be quite harsh but it’s only because he cares. “Tsk that’s why I tell you not to go without me. Look what happens. Use your head next time” He’ll grunt as he’s applying some of his mother’s healing paste on scratches you’ve gotten while diving. “Sorry, I’ll be more careful next time”
He takes you out on dates often. Although your home in the reef is quite limited and you only have so many places you could explore— Ao’nung always manages to find somewhere special to take you. Secret caves he’s found underwater, a hide out in the more botanical area of the village or a secluded side of the beach— he always makes sure they’re scenic. He’ll take you on swims outside of the reef on his ilu but he always makes sure to bring you home before dark— he doesn’t want you out there too long.
He’s shy when he gives you gifts. They’ll be hand made necklaces with pretty shells or something woven that you can wear. His mother and sister insisted they make it for you but he wanted it to be from him so he’ll insist they just teach him. His skill set wouldn’t be as great as theirs so whatever he’s made you will always look somewhat wonky but you love it even more. You appreciate the fact he took the time and effort to make it himself. “I love it! Thank you, Ao’nung” You smile as you kiss him on his cheek, he’ll pretend to act nonchalant about it. “It’s fine, didn’t take long”
When you fight he’s stubborn. Neither of you will talk to each other but you’ll usually try to prompt him first to apologise to him— if he was still salty about it he’ll just shrug you off and continue his silence. Eventually he’ll feel bad for treating you this way and find you to apologise. He’d silently approach you and wait beside you for a few moments before he’ll lean closer to you, nudging the side of his head with yours. “Forgive me, my love. I shouldn’t have spoken to you that way” He’ll murmur before kissing your cheek and waiting for you to accept his apology.
He’s affectionate in private. He’s not one for PDA and you don’t mind, as long as he’s comfortable then you’re okay with it. He’ll sneak kisses in and hold your hand when you’re around others but he waits until you’re completely alone to be more open. He’ll hold you while you watch the sun set, braid your hair and leave kisses on your neck. He doesn’t over do it with his affection which is something you admire.

“You’re getting too close!” you called out to Lo’ak as he ducked and weaved under and around you and your Ikran, teasing and taunting you both. His beast was just as cheeky as he was, sending your more skittish partner in a distress. “Shhh Tswake,” you soothed, stroking the smooth leathery skin of her neck. “Let’s teach them a lesson.”
In an unspoken command, Tswake dived, the wind slapping on your face and stinging your eyes. You just avoided one of the floating mountains ahead, though Lo’ak had no such luck. “Shit!” He exclaimed at the same time his ikran let out a head-splitting shriek, the sound of wings and bodies making contact with hard earth. You chuckled triumphantly, the wind now calming on your features as you both leveled out and slowed. You could hear and see other banshees and their riders flying around you, looking at you with disdain at the disruption of their previously peaceful evening ride. You smiled to yourself. It wasn’t uncommon for you and Lo’ak to be getting yourselves in some form of danger or trouble, it came with the territory of being the best friend of the Olo’eyktan’s son. It was hard for Lo’ak to live up to his father’s impossible standards, so you took it upon yourself to help him forget, even for a little bit. It was the habit of many people in the clan to assume you were promised to each other, but it wasn’t like that, it couldn’t be. Not when your heart and mind and soul was consumed with another.
You had accepted long ago that - for Lo’ak’s sake - you would never have what you truly wanted, or who. It didn’t matter, anyway, mating wasn’t always for love, you knew you could be content with mating with a respectable male and having children to fill your life with joy and happiness. But somewhere, deep down, a part of your heart ached, and you knew that feeling would linger.
The sound of Lo’ak and his ikran snapped you out of your melancholy: “that was not funny,” he said with feigned upset.
You grinned back at him, “that’s what you get for pissing us off, Lo’ak.”
“You know damn well it was Taw’s idea just as much as it was mine,” it was true, Lo’ak’s banshee was very much trying to gain the affections of your own, but Tswake was having none of it. Your previous thoughts had once again reappeared in the front of your mind, causing your smile to falter and your eyes to turn away from your friend and instead to the floating mountains ahead. You tried to focus on the air, the sun, anything else, but nothing could distract you from the rope pulling and constricting at your lungs. Lo’ak caught the change instantly.
“Are you alright?” he said your name, his eyes and voice etched with worry.
You didn’t look at him, “yes, of course.”
He didn’t leave it alone, “come on, you know you can talk to me. Tell me.”
You sighed heavily, both of you ducking underneath vines hanging off of nearby rocks as you flew, the sun warming your face, “it’s nothing, really. I just feel like… I mean, as we’re getting older, there have been…” Eywa, you felt stupid saying this to him. You paused, trying to gether your thoughts into a coherent way to recount to Lo’ak, who continued to soar alongside you.
“There have been expectations, Lo’ak. For me to choose, to mate. Not with you, of course,” you added hurriedly when you saw his frown. “I just feel as if there is no one truly out there for me, that I will never be able to mate for love.” You didn’t mention who, specifically, was on your mind. You knew how Lo’ak would act if he found out.
“Oh,” he said, his eye brows furrowing together again.
“I know, it’s stupid. We’re both still young and I shouldn’t worry myself with this sort of shit but I-”
“No,” he interrupts, stopping your anxious babble. “I get it. Dad’s always telling ‘Teyam and I to ‘start thinking about it,’” the thought of Neteyam thinking about people he would consider mating had your stomach twisting in an unbearable knot. Lo’ak went on, “but it’s not like it would be hard for you to find a mate,” you looked at your best friend, really looked at him, and he wasn’t mocking you, he saw how much emotional turmoil you were in and he was answering genuinely. He really believed you wouldn’t - and couldn’t - struggle in the process of building a family of your own. If only he knew.
“You think so?”
He grinned at you, “well, if they don’t end up figuring out about how annoying you are and how bad your breath smells.”
Aaand there it was. The real Lo’ak was back. You pursed your lips together to contain your smile, as you and your ikran dove down to the clearing for you both to dismount and go to Hometree for mealtime.
The tree of your home was a generous hue of colours; cool greens, blues, and purples illuminating the area around you in a comforting embrace. A light chatter of your tsmukan (clan) under the three moons grounded you, steeling you as you and Lo’ak walked towards where his siblings were sitting, Neteyam eating and teasing Kiri in his good-humoured way. Your heart thundered, pulse fluttering infuriatingly. This was stupid! You needed to get over yourself, it was never gonna happen.
Lo’ak nudged your arm with his own, bringing you fully back into what was happening around you, instead of your attention staying on the boy who’s regard had shifted from his sister to you. And Lo’ak. You and Lo’ak. There was no way he cared enough to be looking at only you. You reminded yourself of this as you began to rattle on casually with the other Na’vi your age you passed that sat near Hometree, a “hello” here, a “how are you?” there.
“I still do not understand why you talk with them,” Kiri said to you as you took your place next to her, pretending to be enthralled by her comment in order to not let your traitorous gaze to shoot to Neteyam and stay there. Embarrassing.
Kiri was around half an inch shorter than you, but a million times more feisty. You prided yourself in being friendly to everyone because of you hatred for confrontation, but Kiri was unashamed in her opinions of others. You admired it, to be able to speak what she felt about anything and everything, though you knew she felt just as out of place amongst those your age as you did. Just like her mother, you were told.
You chuckled at her cynicism. “Why wouldn’t I? They’re not all bad.”
She looked at you, unimpressed. “They are a group of boring idiots, every time they open their mouths my ears bleed.” Her candor was a bit exaggerated, but it was truthful. It was almost impossible to have any real conversation with the teenage Na’vi, their talk was so surface-level and… bland. You would never admit it, but you agreed with her. But before you could answer, the oldest of the Sully’s said something first.
“You are just mad that everyone is scared of you and we are your only friends,” Neteyam said it with a smile, purposely trying to get a reaction out of Kiri. His eyes flicked from you to his younger sister, almost as if to catch your reaction. You stifled a laugh.
“I’d rather them to be afraid of me if that meant I never actually had to talk to them,” Kiri snapped back to her brother, playing right into his hands.
“Says the healer! You’ll have to talk them if you become a healer with grandmother,” Lo’ak said, laughing.
You understood both of their points, but Neteyam and Lo’ak didn’t struggle in the same way you and Kiri did. Everyone liked them. They could make friends and talk to anyone, it was just the way they were. You said this to them, looking at Neteyam as you did. He huffed a laugh as he took a bite of his meal.
“First of all, not everyone likes me. And second of all, everyone loves you, I don’t think you actually struggle with getting anyone to like you.” His eyes burned into you, and even though Kiri had kept talking, you just stared at him, taking no notice of what your friend beside you was saying. He stared right back, unabashedly. You had been tense and nervous since you first saw him tonight, but now you thought your heart would beat so fast it would rip straight from your chest for everyone to see how much he affected you. It was not as if you’d never made eye contact with each other before, that sort of thing was unavoidable. This, this was different. There was a new weight to the way you looked at each other now, something you had never felt before. It made you want to get up and run away into the trees and scream. The look he gave you was a taught thread, wrapping around your neck and depriving you of all air. Did he really mean that? Everyone loves you. It was the first time he said anything like that to you before, and you didn’t know how to feel about it. By now, that bravery and easy-going way about about you that sat within you like a warm body of water had shriveled and dried up, leaving your mouth dry and head muddled.
You heard your name, and your mind that had zeroed in on the boy across from you instantly came back to take what was happening around you. Kiri was looking at you confusion and unease settled in her features. She said your name again, “are you alright?” You looked at her for a second, struggling to find an excuse for why you had stopped talking and was staring at her brother.
Eywa. Did they notice? Did they think you were being weird? Your cheeks heated, giving your blue skin a warm hue as you said, “what? Yeah, I’m fine.” Was Neteyam still looking at you? You weren’t gonna risk it.
Kiri and Lo’ak had now joined Neteyem at staring at you, and you saw your best friend looking between you and Neteyam. Crap. He really never misses a thing. His brows were bunched together, ears downturned and mouth clamped shut, his jaw flicked with tension. He couldn’t have known. You prayed to Eywa he didn’t actually see know anything.
“Are you sure?” Kiri asked. If she saw as much as Lo’ak did, she wasn’t going to say anything, and her face betrayed nothing to you.
You went to reassure her that you were, when Lo’ak answered for you, “she’s tired. It’s been a long day, Kiri.”
I looked at him, my eyes searching his. You looked at Kiri, who was waiting for your answer, and then at him. He was still looking at you. Before that confusing tense energy could take hold of your mind and heart, you quickly answered Kiri.
“I’m fine, Kiri, I think I’m just gonna go to bed.” You gave her a smile that didn’t quite reach your eyes as you rose from your seated position.
You left the group, and you could feel their eyes on you as you walked away, but you refused to turn back to confirm your suspicion. You kept walking until you were out of their sight. As soon as you were alone, your thoughts all bubbled over like an over-boiled kettle. You knew that all these thoughts and questions will have you up late tonight, running through and over thinking every second you were there. Mealtime with the Sully’s was usually so easy and… fun. But now, something had changed.
He had changed.

Chapter 2: Reconnection with Ommaticaya
-;
He looked at her through the foliage of her mind, the edges were dull and a haze possessed what clarity was known to her, and through that darkness eyes stared back at her. Wide, green eyes, slanted upward- as were the rest of his features. Angular and daring in all the ways a predator would be, she felt her heart shudder for it was not a predator’s gaze that looked towards her- but a friend’s. The look of a friend betrayed and forsaken into the hollow parts of the world, where the firefly lights and moon beams could not reach, a darkness settled- then a hiss and a sneer and a warmth was snatched from her as bullets pounded through the air once again.
Diana awoke with a gasp; sweat clung to her body the way she clung to her chest with a tattooed hand, desperate and scavenging, searching for a lost thing that had run away. She was used to dreams- she had had to get used to the dreams; though like a guest that had overstayed its welcome she lingered at the door of her mind, waiting, praying that this pain- this haunting would leave with a smile and never return to her again. But still it sat, still it festered and waited for her to leave the archway of the front door, still it waited for her to close that door and let it make home in her.
It was the first time in months Diana had dreamt of those betrayed eyes that stared down at her, the first time in months she found it hard to swallow for the lump in her throat had grown too heavy and thick to push down. And when it finally fell from her throat to her stomach she wished it had just stayed there, because that descent reminded her of the emptiness that had made home in her bones- the very marrow of it seeming to leak out from her, as if the essence of herself was betraying her. She knew, deep down she knew, that she wasn’t responsible for what had happened at that school, she knew also that she could not have done anything else-except make things worse-by going back to them after the shooting like Grace had tried to do.
But a regret festered in her heart as was the oh so inherent nature of humans, and it was in those many moments of regret when she held herself up in her room for days, neither speaking or hearing of another human or creature, that the festering of that regret thrived. It was the third week since Jake had reintroduced humans, in Na’vi form, to Hometree once again, and the first month of his three month expiration date. Diana wondered if that countdown ran through his mind at all as he leaped and bounded from the long roots of Hometree or rode on the back of the pa’li in the fields. She wondered what went through his mind at all because, she hoped, he could give her some clarity as well.
“It’s been four days,” A knock sounded on the door to her room, and Diana turned her head from the scrunched up blankets she had buried it in to see Grace standing in the archway, “It’s two in the afternoon,” the older woman reminded her gently, “Are you joining us today?”
Diana shut her eyes as she looked from the woman and buried her face into the blankets again, her head already being filled with the list of things she had to do due to putting it off for the past four days.
“I should,” She told Grace as she slowly sat up, keeping the thinner side of the blanket on top of her head to block out the blaring sight of the sun that cascaded through the open windows.
“It would help if you did something,” Grace agreed, “But not if you don’t feel up to it.”
“No, no,” Diana gave a deep, meaningful sigh as she put one heavy leg out of the bed after another, and then reached her hand out to Grace for help as she shut her eyes tightly and tried to combat the dizziness that was beginning to grow in her mind. In hindsight, shutting herself off from the only three people available to her for miles probably wasn’t the best idea she’d ever had. But she’d rather endure the hours of silence, in company with the machine hums, than face the headstrong irritability that would rear its ugly head when she would do, well, anything.
“What’s Jake been up to?” Diana heard herself ask as she settled at their small kitchen table and Grace warmed her up one of the refrigerated meals they had brought with them. Grace handed her a package wrapped in various layers of plastic and wrapping paper, the front and back both unlabelled with only a singular word on the side, QUINN.
“Linked in already,” Grace answered her question as she put both the package and meal down in front of her, but smacked her hands away when Diana first reached for the package, “Take a bite first. And drink this,” She placed a strong smelling liquid in front of Diana, to which the younger girl scrunched up her nose and stared in disgust. Grace only stared back, challenging the younger woman not to drink the protein shake.
“Damn woman,” Diana relented as she took a large gulp, “Looks deadly enough to make a palulukan run.” She muttered as she pushed the package to Grace, telling her to open it as she continued to eat her premade meal.
“It’s a note from Quaritch and… oh shit,” Grace threw out the contents of the table, spilling it in front of Diana to see. When she turned her head and rifled through the pictures she saw it was more of the same pictures she had seen earlier that week, writings and drawings of the same colour and texture she had seen from the two previous mining dumps, bolder and clearer than before. This time, however, in brilliant white sketched across one of the large walls of a basecamp, was her name.
Diana began choking on her food as she saw her name written, in perfect English, across the human settlement. She looked to Grace who was looking back at her with equal mortification, and then grabbed the note Quaritch had sent with it. There, scribbled in untidy handwriting in large bold letters were the words; fix this, or I will. Clear, concise and with no room for argument. Shit.
“Shit,” Grace voiced Diana’s own thoughts again, “Well that’s direct. If you didn’t think they were trying to get your attention before, we know it for sure now.” Grace massaged her left temple as she took a drag from her cigarette.
“You’ve got to get a handle on this, kid,” Grace suggested, “If it weren’t for you Quaritch might have already taken some of his damn ships and guns to the Tawkami Hometree already.”
“He won’t attack Tawkami, as selfish and egocentric as Selfridge is he won’t do more unnecessary damage, it’s the Omaticaya Hometree they want,” Diana rubbed the sides of her head, “But that’s not enough to stop him from attacking any of the clan members outside of Hometree and by the looks of it they’ve reached well outside of their territory already.”
“So what’s the plan?” Grace asked as she took another drag of her cigarette. Diana eyed the object between her friend’s fingers, having noticed their presence a lot more in the past few days than she had previously. The stress of integrating Jake into the Omaticaya clan and culture, on top of keeping Selfridge and Quaritch pleased wasn’t an easy task to do, she didn’t envy the doctor for her responsibilities as head of this programme; but she wasn’t going to let her shoulder the burdens alone either.
Diana patted Grace’s shoulder as she finished her food and told Norm to link her into her pod. It had been a week since her confrontation with Tsu’tey and her reintegration to the clan; it was finally time to get some real work done.
“And what are these?” Diana asked as she pointed to her ears resting higher on her head than where they rested on the human body. She looked between the concentrated faces of the young Na’vi children, each of them standing at 6ft tall and above at less than a decade and a half old. Diana hummed as she asked her question again, repeating the words slower so the children, who had not been practicing English for some time, could fully understand what it was she asking.
“A ear!” One of the children shouted loudly, proudly declaring their answer.
Diana laughed as she clapped her hands in celebration, praising the little girl for her correct answer, “Very good, very good Syanan!” Diana let out a breath as the girl giggled and ran into her, celebrating her victory over the dreaded English language as she whooped to her friends who, in turn, shouted back. “But,” Diana continued, which made the girl pause and stare down at her with the rest of the children, “It sounds funny, doesn’t it? Something is missing?” She hinted to the children and watched as they began thinking again.
Akwey, Syanan’s younger brother, raised his hand as he hollered for her attention, “I think your brother wants to help you, Syanan,” Diana goaded the girl gently as she helped her climb off her lap and rest again onto the ground with the other children, and then called on Akwey to answer.
“An!” He said proudly, puffing his chest as he gave the proper form of the words, “An ear!”
Diana found herself smiling brightly down at the boy, proud at how quickly he was catching on despite not having been allowed to attend the school like the other children. When Grace and Diana had opened the school a long ways away from Hometree, she remembers Syanan speaking of her youngest brother, and his passion of learning new and strange things, however he was never allowed to leave the safety of Hometree and was forbade by his parents. Diana found herself frowning at the memory, and remembered the cautious nature from many of the parents of the clan as they worried for the safety of their children due to arrival of humans. As she looked between their expectant faces, she wishes she could quell the worry of the older Na’vi, but that was not something she could promise.
“Is it… wrong?” Akwey’s question broke her from the depressive thought process she had somehow managed to spiral herself into and quickly shook her head as she told the boy he was correct and congratulated him as well. He responded to her with a large, gap-toothed smile. The young Na’vi boy hadn’t even grown into his canines yet, and Diana’s heart fluttered as he smiled up at her with those large eyes the Na’vi possessed and then began explaining the rule of definite and indefinite articles. Her attention was caught not a moment after she had finished by Jake, as he hollered for her while being pestered by another group of rowdy, older children. Diana nearly gasped as one of them pulled on his tail and nearly made him trip on himself, she tried to hide her laugh behind her hand as she stared at him, but he had already seen it.
“Yeah, yeah, laugh all you want you blue woman- these buggers haven’t left me alone since Neytiri went off somewhere and I can’t shake them!” He turned to her as he bent his head and his ears lowered, pleading with her, “I beg of you Diana, make them go away.” She pushed Jake away from her by his face, telling him to not get so close with that stupid look on.
“They’re just curious about you.” She told him as she waved in greeting to Grace’s half of the class, wondering where the other woman was and why she wasn’t taking better care of her kids. A small part of her wondered if she had intentionally stuck the children on Jake in revenge for him eating her food the previous night.
“About what?” Jake asked exasperated, “I’m about as blue as them aren’t I?”
Diana gasped as she hit Jake on the head, shocked at his somewhat rude remark, “They’re curious about you, you idiot, because you’re wearing the same clothes as them.” She motioned to the singular loin cloth he was wearing, then to them as they wore the same. At the tilt of Jake’s head in confusion, she rolled her eyes and explained, “In Na’vi culture clothes are less about coverage and more about status. The higher ranking you are the more clothes and accessories you adorn, your clothes tell your story, so-“
“So they’re following me because I’m a grown ass man dressed like a baby.” Jake finished as his shoulders slumped.
“Ass man!” Diana and Jake both gave each other wide-eyed stares as they looked from each other to Akwey, who had been listening in on their conversation unlike the rest of the children and smiled his broken smile at them.
“Akwey, don’t say ass!” Diana reprimanded him on the improper use of the curse word, gently telling him it wasn’t a word children should use. When he gave her a nonchalant shrug and rolled his eyes, much like the way she did with Jake, he left a gaping mouthed Diana and a laughing Jake alone as he went and played with the other kids.
“Takes after you, that one.” Jake snidely told Diana as he pushed her lower jaw up to help her close her mouth. She surreptitiously gave him the middle finger. Diana glared at his smirking face before both of their attention was caught by the thundering of hooves, and when they turned their head to the side they took note of Neytiri riding up to them on her pa’li, another one in hand attached to a leash. All of a sudden Diana burst into a snicker as she greeted Neytiri, then clapped Jake on the back hard once before muttering to him as she stared at the rider-less pa’li.
“And that one’s for you,” She laughed as he sneered at her with his fangs on display, and saluted him when Neytiri yelled at him to follow her. Making tsaheylu for the first time on the back of a pa’li was something she didn’t need to re-experiencing; wincing as she remembered the bruises she had gotten after multiple falls from the large horse-like creature. Tsu’tey hadn’t had the slightest sympathies for her as he had barked at her to continuously get back on and stop acting like a child. She found herself smiling fondly at the memory despite the pain that it had brought at the time and, as though he appears whenever thought about, made eye contact with the male in question as he looked up from his companion.
Diana tilted her head as she watched Tsu’tey speak with Mo’at at the base of the tree and began slowly walking up to the two high ranking clan members. But Tsu’tey, who was watching her as he continued to speak with Mo’at, noticed her coming and bowed his head to the Tsahik before dismissing himself just as the woman arrived. Her shoulders slumped when he didn’t so much as regard her approach and left the two of them alone.
“Oel ngati kameie, Tsahik,” Diana greeted the older woman with a slight bow of her head and the touch to her forehead. When she raised her gaze again, Diana noticed the woman stared at the place Tsu’tey had been and followed his trail as he left, then downward toward the woman who greeted her with a soft smile.
“He is not yet forgiven you,” The Tsahik spoke, stating the fact Diana was all too well aware of, “But he will, it has been foretold.” The spiritual leader rested her hand on Diana’s shoulder, gently trying to reassure the woman as she guided her towards the stairs hollowed out from the tree’s base.
“I don’t suppose it’s been foretold when exactly that will be?” Diana tried cheekily, trying to gouge a response from the woman that was lighter hearted before she tried to brave the questions that have been hanging over her since that morning. The woman only smiled and patted her on the shoulder, never giving her a reply as they walked around Hometree until they reached the very top of the large, ancient tree, giving them both a wide view of the area around them. From here Diana could see the pa’li grazing in the fields, the warriors training near the dummies as they practiced their archery and close combat skills but most of all, she saw Pandora as it stretched before her wide and clear.
She heard the ikran whistle and screech below them as they played and wrestled amongst each other. The older ones sat higher in the trees where the two women were now standing, not wanting to bother themselves with the worries of the youth and Diana watched as Mo’at walked closer to the thinning of the large branch they stood on and inspected one of the branches of the tree.
Diana lifted her head and stared up at the sky, the purple lightened sky that seemed to stare back at her, and watched as the brilliant and iridescent hues of Pandora’s planet stared back at her and despite her 10ft height within the Na’vi body, she felt utterly eclipsed in the shadow of the planet, and she wondered if there were any scholars among the Na’vi people who studied the planets and stars. She wondered if they knew about her own earth, and the moon that had belonged to her once, and the stars and constellations she would wish upon.
“You wish to ask me something child,” Mo’at spoke to her, “But you doubt if you should bring this to my knowledge.” Diana would have been astounded at the woman’s intuition, but she knew it was not intuition that guided her words but whispers. The whispers all Tsahik of each clan hear, spoken to them by Eywa herself as she commands the flow of the forests and streams and the very air that surrounded them.
“I…” Diana didn’t know where to start or how to start or whether she should begin at all, so she spoke from the end, “Why is it that the will of life is etched in stone and not oceans?”
She watched as the Tsahik’s lips lifted slightly, never regarding Diana directly but focusing intently on the leaves of the tree and the way it was caressed by the wind. Diana continued, “Why is it that… that despite the most honest intentions the,” Diana grit her teeth, “will of life deems them not enough? Why does it have to be as hard and cold as stone and not as accepting as the seas?”
“Are the seas so accepting?” Mo’at asked in reply, “Do the depths not frighten you, girl?”
“I am not frightened by what I do not understand.”
“Then perhaps it is more of the world that you should try to understand.”
Diana shook her head against the woman’s words, “It is the world that is not trying to understand me.” She shut her eyes against the words she spoke, berating her own words for how childish they sound coming from a grown woman’s mouth.
“There is no understanding,” Mo’at walked towards her, placing her hand on the woman’s chest, “Here,” and then to her mind, “and here.”
Diana tilted her head to the woman, a pained glance in her eyes as she understood what Mo’at was telling her- but she could not reach the Tsahik in a way that mattered, she could not know what it was like to understand the world the way the Na’vi do. Not in her human body, and not in the body that was created in a lab, “Tsahik,” She whimpered as she gripped the woman’s hand on her head, “Fwäkì ke fwefwi.” A truth that was not hers to keep in her heart, although pained to admit, although ashamed to claim to her, she spoke the words in the tongue that was not hers, to the member of a people she would betray, “I am not strong enough.”
“Tsu’tey has taught you well,” the woman nodded as she approved of Diana’s words.
“Words that do not desire to be hollow are never easy to articulate,” Diana whispered in her own tongue, “But it is words that escape me when,” She sighed as she remembered the reunion of her and her former teacher, then of the way she had frozen upon meeting Neytiri again. Despite her degree, despite all those long years of studying and learning and honing her speech and linguistic talents, words had escaped her.
“Perhaps it would aid your heart to reclaim a gift that was promised,” The Tsahik offered Diana once again, and the younger woman shot her eyes up from the downcast position they had settled in, not believing the words of the woman before her.
“I could not,” She whispered, “He would not accept me again. I… I am no warrior, Tsahik.”
“We will all be tested before the end, child,” Mo’at took her hands from Diana’s as she began to walk away, “Your destiny has already begun.”
“Your destiny has already begun?” Grace asked as she slammed the fridge door closed, putting the milk on the table in front of Jake and sitting across Diana. The woman being addressed shrugged as she took another spoonful of cereal into her mouth and grabbed the sugar from Jake before he could take a spoonful himself.
He held his hands up to her, as if asking what the hell her problem was, but only watched in disgust as she dished three tablespoons into her meal without a word, then addressed Grace again, “Those were the exact words, Grace. And I have no idea what the hell they mean.”
“Maybe it means you’re destined for greatness,” Jake mocked, “Or type-two diabetes.” He jabbed as he stole the sugar back from her and added it to his own meal. It earned him a punch in the arm from Diana, who winced in slight discomfort when all she hit was solid muscle, in which case Jake made a mocking face back to her at her reaction.
“Children, don’t fight at the table,” Grace reprimanded, “What did she say about the pictures and the Tawkami clan?”
Diana shook her head, “Nothing. The Omaticaya aren’t as advanced as the Tawkami when it comes to linguistics. In the sense that the latter is literally the only clan we’ve come to meet so far that have any sort of writing system and the Omaticaya focus on,” Diana threw her hands up in the air, “textiles!”
“Textiles?” Jake asked through a mouth of porridge, which Diana made a disgusted face at and Grace rolled her eyes as she explained.
“Decorative pieces, Jake. Some even make musical instruments. The point is the Omaticaya won’t be much help in figuring out what exactly the Tawkami want with Diana.”
“Okay, so why not just ask them?” Diana scoffed at Jake’s question, but shrunk back when Grace gave her a look of warning and raised her hands in defence.
“The Tawkami welcomed us once, the same way Omaticaya did. And then just like that,” Diana snapped her fingers in front of her face, “Without warning or prompt they turned violent against us, the RDA-though who could blame them- and started attacking every human-touched thing within sight.” Diana sighed as she massaged her temples, “It’s a wonder they’re even trying to communicate now after all this time.”
“Well whatever their reasons where,” Grace decided, “They’re trying to communicate but also keep us away from their Hometree, for now we’ll take what we can get.”

Fans who dunk on kataang as a ship because Katara was written flatly post OG series really grind my gears. As if her marrying Aang and having a family with him was the root cause of the LoK writers sidelining her when her peers still got to be way more invloved in the story.
I will be the first to admit that Katara's initial goals and characterization got quite lost post OG series. In a way, she was only reduced to a healer and her accomplishments outside of mothering children with Aang and banning bloodbending are not shared with the audience. For the first season of LoK, I think this is fine. This is not Katara's story anymore and her speech to Korra at the beginning of the season is her passing the torch to the next Avatar to have her own adventures. Katara at that point is basically a nice cameo. We're not supposed to think that this sliver of her life which Korra sees is all that's important about her.
This does not hold water in future seasons when it's revealed that Toph and Zuko are still alive and both have more active roles in the plot, whereas Katara did not have an active role in plot lines she should have been more involved with (water tribe civil war, for example). To some fans, this reduces the little that we do see of Katara's character in LoK to only being those parts, rather than just pieces of a more realized elder from the perspective of someone younger (Korra) who doesn't know her whole story.
The way that people blame her marrying Aang on the way her overall character was handled is so baffling to me. Do these fans honestly think she would have escaped that fate for certain if she had married Zuko or someone else, or stayed single?
