Four things to note about this:
Israel is importing food
This is such an inefficient way to move things esp fresh food as it takes about 2-3 to go from Saudi to Israel
Israeli farmlands are largely unattended as Gazan workers were forced back into the Strip (after getting imprisoned and tortured) and immigrant workers have returned home. This is why Israel is importing food from Saudi and workers from Africa
Yes, this is a sign of support from Saudi and UAE. UAE has actually gone further than providing Israel with a route that bypasses the Red Sea. In Oct, Gazans reported seeing UAE planes dropping bombs on them. As for Saudi Arabia, the US and Israel seem to believe that the country is some sort of leader of the Muslim world so if they normalise relations with Israel, every other Muslim country except Iran will follow suit. It obviously won't happen. The war on Gaza has done too much damage to Israel-Arab relations.

Hi! Thank you for the health advice! I would love to quit or significantly reduce carbs, I also feel like it's heavy on my body, but so many meals revolve around grains (sourdough bread mostly) and I guess there's a craving aspect to it too... Could you give advice on what you're eating instead?? I have lots of eggs, fish, occasional meat, plenty of fruit, just enough veg haha but i find it hard to imagine going without carbs (or grains more specifically cos I have no prob with vege carbs). Especially in winter 😋 Thank you for any help 🙏🙏
I feel like society has normalised feeling heavy and lethargic after meals, but its amazing you have noticed this and want to change!
You may want to cut carbs gradually (no starches - breads, grains, rice, pasta, potatoes).
I would recommend looking into GI index to see what foods are high glucose, following Hormone Balancing recipes, juices etc (usually very low carb and support women's health). Listening to podcasts on microbiome, or even a tiktok search.
Introducing pre/ probiotics: I make sauerkraut (which is basically cabbage / onions in water and salt left to ferment for a few days - lots of variations on this), also just made my first batch of Kefir (I stay away from store bought Kefir as its pasturised and all the good stuff has been killed off during this process). I mention these as a healthy gut is going to support you as you remove carbs and introduce more wholesome foods.
Breakfasts:
Omlette (spinach / onion / parsley )
Scrambled eggs w/ coconut oil
Buckwheat porridge w/ blueberries (buckwheat is a seed not a grain so low glucose index)
Avocado salad (seeds, olives, rocket, tomatoes, cucumber) +tahini
Snacks:
Nuts, olives, blueberries, blackberries, watermelon
Main meals:
Veg + Protein (Broccli, kale, butternut squash, courgette, carrots, asparagus, cabagge, peppers). I do different variations of veg to mix things up, sometimes i do Chinese style stir fry, I try to add garlic and ginger as much as possible into the veg. Protein is usually grass fed steak, whole fish - seabream, sea bass, mackerel, cod fillet, wild salmon fillet, or turkey breast fillet. I make chimichurri sauce to add some extra flavour to the fish.
Protein + lentil / chicpeas dish. I have a stew a few days a week to break up the veggies because they do get boring after a while.
Bone broth. I boil the bones, and have as a little side dish with veggies but this isn't really filling enough for a main meal.
I make beetroot juice, and also watermelon juice, tumeric + ginger shots throughout the week. I try to throw in flaxseed and chia seeds where possible.
I cut coffee/ decaf all that and now only drinking fresh mint tea, slice of lemon + hot water, fresh juices (within the hour of making), and water ensuring 2l per day.
Number one thing that had to go was oats. So if you are having a morning crash I suggest cutting the carbs first thing. I know there are suggestions (glucose goddess) that fat with carbs or when you eat them (having carbs after veg can help) but personally i think its best to cut them.
I hope this helps! Its a full lifestyle change that has honestly helped so much! It's a commitments, but investing in feeling good and your health will make you feel so good and wholesome! xoxoxo
*I used the free 1 month trial of MyFitnessPal app to track my calories/ meals to ensure I was getting enough food - for some this might be extreme but super helpful to see what’s going on.

Okay, now is technically the last one before my prefect design lol. OOPS I FORGOR fuck well here they finally are lol...
😭Other Side Characters😭
Tumblr media
I drew so many cutie patooties in this batch omg they're adorable. But first we'll kick off with the Royal Blade characters!
🐱Chenya🐱
Because I'm not spelling out his whole damn name 💀
(he/she/they/it/ whatever pronouns you can think of lol) Genderqueer - Pansexual
Tumblr media
Teehee I forgot to colour in the damn hair clips... I'm gonna kms /j
- Genderqueer cat. Any character based on the Cheshire Cat is genderqueer to me istg. Chenya is no exception.
- I kept most of her design the same but added in some heterochromia for funsies and used those colours for the hair clips and earrings. Xe is also Hispanic, idk it just felt right.
- Totally has ADHD. The impulsive thoughts are obvious with this one and I think that Neige serves as its impulse control. They made like, a pact of sorts (after their Headmage yelled at Chenya for doing something) that Chenya tells Neige whatever the impulsive thought is and Neige either tell Chenya 'No, you can't do that' or 'We can do this instead'.
- Broke asf. I dunno but I feel like Chenya has like the worst habit of impulse buying you've ever seen so they never carry money on they to try and avoid it at Trey and Riddle's recommendation. It's mostly worked as Neige buys anything Chenya needs when they go out anyways.
Speaking so much of Neige,
🐦Neige LeBlanche🐦
(he/him) Transmasc - Biromantic Asexual
Tumblr media
God I love how Neige came out, look at him!!! He's such a cutie patootie omgomg I love him sm
- Anyways, I was fighting my demons to not make him black and I lost. I dunno, we don't have enough sweet, cute black boys in media and that is a crime.
- I gave him some hairclips with cute lil charms on them and some of those silly little acne patches. Idk if he actually has acne, he totally could, but I think he'd wear them either way to like normalise not be ashamed of it, y'know?
- I gave him some cute little apple earrings which were a gift that Rook gave him after a concert with one of his letters lol. He wears most of the jewelry gifted to him at one point or another but he really likes the apple earrings.
- Has a crush on Vil. Idk how popular of a headcanon that is but as soon as they interacted, I felt like it made sense. I love the one-sided rivalry lmao with Vil hating his ass and he's just like, 'Omg, she's so pretty and cool and smart. Wow, I'm so glad we get to work together so much!' It's really funny ngl.k
- Loves to crochet, knit, and sew. All are kinda skills he picked up while caring for the dwarves but they're his favourite to do. He's made Chenya a few sets of mittens (because for some super mysterious reason, they always go missing) and a quilt at some point.
- Likes anything with apples in it, pies, drinks, you name it. Fall is his favourite season because of apple cider alone (otherwise it'd be spring).
Onto the Kingscholars!
🦁Cheka Kingscholar🦁
(he/him)
Tumblr media
He's so cute!!! I love him omg I'd actually love to babysit him look at those eyes
- I kept his design also pretty on model, darken his skin a smidge and textured his hair to match Leona's. Smacked some dimples and birthmarks on as if he wasn't cute enough already.
- The gold eyeliner is like a royal thing, maybe be specific to the crown line or maybe Leona's just too fcking lazy, probably the later.
- He's actually really good at chess. He's played many games with Leona, even though he didn't get it at first, but now he can beat most people who play him (still not Leona lest he really screws up something). Most of his birthdays, he gets a new pretty chess set and he has a little display of them in his room.
Now for his dad! The only character here without a canon design (as far as I know... which I'm upset about).
👑Farena Kingscholar👑
(he/him) - Heterosexual
Tumblr media
I woulda also made a design for his wife but I don' think she even has a name?? So maybe in the future.
- I based him more on Leona, trying to make sure that Cheka didn't just get his trait lmao. I think that he got his piercing actually after Leona got his because the palace staff were criticising him for it so Farena went and got one.
- I dunno, he's giving bi wife energy. It helps that the women of Sunset Savannah are buff and cool and I'm so mad we never saw them 😭😭😭 I wanna see Leona's sister-in-law so bad ;^;.
- He's not as much into the intellectual side of things like Leona is, would rather defeat people with strength which is why the two really don't get along super well. Though I think it's only perceived on Leona's side, I don't think Farena realises how much hurt Leona's had throughout his life.
- Angst aside, he doesn't get much in the way of free time what with all his royal duties and such. His favourite activities are spoiling his family and getting used as a weight for his wife's daily exercise!
We got even more other family characters incoming...
🐍Najima Viper🐍
(she/her) - Bicurious
Tumblr media
Fair warning, I haven't encountered any of the last three characters lol.
- I didn't change much here either, just added some red streaks to her hair and matched her palette to Jamil's.
- I don't know if her age is ever implied but I think she'd be younger than him by like a year. She went to a different school with Kalim's cousin (who they're like besties).
- I feel like Najima didn't get the same set of exceptions set on her growing up and so her relationship with the Al-Asims, while still not necessarily healthy, was nowhere near as damaging. I think that while Jamil definitely envies that, he'd rather die than make her go through the same thing as him.
Up next,
🧢Mama Spade🧢
(she/her) - Bisexual
Tumblr media
Never met her either 😭😭😭
- I based her off my Deuce design and really just added some more piercings. I actually toned down the blonde streaks but I think they'd both have just a few.
- I believe she has a small business??? Or something? I didn't read the wiki but her hat had a delivery service me thinks but I stan her having a small business.
- She loves her son very much and was super excited when she saw his new piercings. Also, super accepting when he came out, obvi and thinks that while Ace is a bit of a rascal, they do click together.
I don't have a ton for her but I want that event to come back pleaseeee 🙏🙏🙏
🐉Meleanor Draconia🐉
(she/they) Agender - Aromantic Pansexual
Tumblr media
- I had so much fun with her horns. I made them more branchy and I think a full grown dragon (well, like an old one) would basically have a web of antlers. I added some purple to the tips for the 🌸aesthetic🌸.
- Also added some wave to her hair. Malleus looked in her spitting image so I figured I'd give Levan's genes a chance lmao. They're also super tall, probably even taller than Mal herself and especially with the horns.
- I think she'd have left some things that Malleus ended up growing up with not realising they were from her, like a hair clasp, some assorted jewelry, a couple toys and items that Lilia gave him when he was old enough. Pieces of her for him to grow up with, y'know?
Anyways, I'm so sorry for this posting without anything lmao I was real tired last night! Prefect is next on the chopping block!

Here is how I would fix the sequels:
Just saying… if Star Wars pulled a Star Trek and dabbled (lightly) in time travel so they could create different timelines with their different movies (aka the 2009 Star Trek movie being an alternate timeline version of the original 1960s series) and make it so the sequels exist in the alternate timeline, the vast majority of their problems would go away.
Sequel enjoyers will still be able to enjoy the movies and know that they’re still canon, but they just make a little more sense now.
Sequel haters can either finally be appeased or continue to scream into the void about how they “technically aren’t canon anymore”. They’ll be able to ignore them if they want to because they’ll exist separately but they will still actually be canon.
That way, we can stop sacrificing every future season of every show to just being set-up for making the sequels actually believable. Sure, they’ll still have to do some set-up to make this make sense, but other stories can also take place in the main timeline, aka the timeline where Anakin remains the chosen one and truly destroys Palpatine in ROTJ. We could even see the sequels characters show up eventually but get them in completely new stories.
They could make it so some huge canon event happens, and I mean huge, that somehow affects the world between worlds and leads to a new timeline being created. Some kind of force anomaly or something. Blah blah blah somehow Palpatine has still returned except this timeline is absolutely insane and the sequels happen and you can do some really wild shit with this freedom of separation from the main storyline. This is the darkest timeline and the main one can lead to something completely different in the future, separated from Palpatine completely. It also could open the doors for that what if series people want so much, depending on how they play it.
They’ve already made time travel technically canon in Rebels (with Ezra saving Ahsoka), but I understand the reluctance to potentially overuse it. If they don’t want to normalise time travel too much, they can just make it so whatever makes the timeline split somehow makes the entrance to the world between worlds crumble or something else that just makes it harder to access (or everyone who knows about it is either dead or refuses to talk about it).
It’s obviously not ideal but I truly think it would settle a lot of problems Dave Filoni and Lucasfilm are currently facing with shows like The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch and Ahsoka having to use most of their runtime to create eventual context for the sequels (which I actually don’t hate, they’re just pretty messy).
Also time travel is fun, but I’m heavily biased there. They don’t need to overuse it. They just need to let Ezra be Ezra (or someone else Idk) and I’m sure he’ll manage to do something chaotic enough to split the timelines.

A great analysis! I adore the irony of how the Crosshair who has been so loud and proud talking about The Big Picture, ended up motivated by purely personal reasons. (It actually aligns well with my irl experience; people talking about The Big Picture often can't see even a very small picture.)
And Emerie is a very strong character. From a person seemingly broken by the oppressive system (that typical reasoning, ‘just follow the rules and you won't be punished’), she finds the strength and compassion to turn against it (and, yes, we evidently needed one more season not to rush her story).
But I'd like to add: think more of Emerie, not less of Crosshair. Heroes should be honoured, not normalised, while everyone who contributed less is slighted.
Crosshair is not motivated by ideals. No one in the Bad Batch is except Echo, of course, and that's why they part ways. The story of the Bad Batch is not the story of how the freedom fighters are forged (though in the end it is, but it is no longer Crosshair's or Hunter's fight). Their goals are more personal and family-orientated. Nevertheless, on their way of evading joining Rex’s cause, the Bad Batch does many good things for it. And that's how it often works. Yes, their team was motivated by a very personal reason when helping to locate the Tantiss base. But I would gladly count overcoming his trauma and, in the end, helping to free the prisoners as Crosshair's amends.
Crosshair was always better with deeds than with loud and proud talking, anyway 😄
Hot take:
Crosshair does not have the Imperial disillusionment and redemption arc of The Bad Batch
Emerie does.
Crosshair has an arc for sure yes but it's not that.
I was thinking about this scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and how it got right what this scene kinda didn't:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(It was so close but then bad writing decided to undercut the moment with a joke rip)
And I think it's really interesting that these characters who were more or less raised into the Empire/First Order and chose to leave it are all directly asked why.
But take a look at Crosshair's answers in comparison:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Different context for the asking, yes, but still, compare that to clones like Howzer, Cody, Slip and Cade who left or turned against the Empire because they knew what the Empire is doing is wrong and they weren't just going to blindly follow orders:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crosshair - Loyalty, Purpose, and Survival
Crosshair didn't choose to join the Empire (though the show isn't very clear or consistent about how much control the inhibitor chips have) but he did, for whatever reason, choose to stay. By the end of S1 we know his chip has been removed and as he definitively says "This is who I am." There were likely still other influences on his decision, but listen to how he talks about the Empire in the S1 finale:
Hunter: Crosshair, I've seen what the Empire is doing. Occupying planets and silencing anyone who stands against them. You know it's not right. Crosshair: You still don’t see the bigger picture, but you will. Hunter: Can't you see they're using you?
Crosshair: We’re not like the regs, we never have been. We’re superior. The Empire can’t protect the galaxy without strength, this is what we were made for. Think of all we could do, together!
Crosshair: You all are meant for more than drifting through the galaxy. It’s time to stop running. Join the Empire, and you will have purpose again.
Hunter: They destroyed an entire city! Crosshair: They did what needed to be done. Kamino, regs, the Republic, that time is over. The Empire will control the entire galaxy, and I am going to be a part of it. Hunter: Don't fool yourself. All you'll ever be to them is a number.
He undeniably knows what the Empire is doing, but he does not care. In fact it sure sounds like he actually supports it and finds self-meaning in it. Hunter spends those episodes trying to convince him it's wrong, he doesn't change his mind. In the end they offer him an out and he doesn't take it.
Wrecker: You coming with us? Crosshair: None of this changes anything. Hunter: You offered us a chance, Crosshair. This is yours. Crosshair: I made my decision.
The next we see Crosshair in "The Solitary Clone" (S2:E3) he follows orders and shoots the Desix governor, right after Cody heartbreakingly tries to do what's right and find a peaceful solution.
Cody: Tell me something, Crosshair. This new Empire, are we making the galaxy better? Crosshair: We’re soldiers, we do what needs to be done. Cody: You know what makes us different from battle droids? We make our own decisions, our own choices. And we have to live with them too.
After this (glorious!) conversation, Crosshair stays. Maybe this began to seed some doubts, but he actually smiles a few scenes later when Rampart assigns him another mission. It seems like for him it truly is as he said in S1:E1 (chip not enhanced yet but still influencing him enough for his brothers to notice he's acting strange):
Crosshair: Republic, Empire... what's the difference.
Crosshair: Orders are orders.
This unethical mission that finally pushed Cody over the edge does not change Crosshair's mind about the Empire, at least not enough for him to take action.
But what does?
Tumblr media
Mayday: And here we are, the survivors. Combat troopers stuck babysitting cargo shipments. Crosshair: Mission’s a mission. Mayday: Yeah, I used to say the same thing.
Mayday: After all the clones have done, all we’ve sacrificed. We’re good soldiers, we followed orders. And for what?
This mission has nothing to do with how the fascist Empire treats the galaxy, it's about how they treat their soldiers. It's about how Mayday loyally fought and served his whole life and Lieutenant Nolan let him die
Lt Nolan: He served his purpose as a soldier of the Empire. Crosshair: You could have saved him! Lt Nolan: Perhaps you didn’t hear me, he is expendable, as are you.
Crosshair thought he could find purpose within the Empire, and Nolan shows him exactly what that will be.
His turning point is accompanied with this powerful visual of the ice vulture, a symbol (and threat) of death, and also set up within the episode a symbol of survival:
Mayday: Vicious creatures, but you have to admire ‘em. They find a way to survive.
This critical moment (that gives me chills, oof this episode is a masterpiece!) comes right after Nolan calls him expendable and directly threatens him:
Lt Nolan: And if you speak to me again with such disrespect I'll see to it you meet a similar fate, clone.
Tumblr media
then Crosshair sees the vulture's shadow and turns to Mayday's dead body (ahh visual storytelling my beloved) then makes his decision:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crosshair turns against the Empire not because he believes Hunter was right about this:
Hunter: I've seen what the Empire is doing ... You know it's not right.
but because he was right about this:
Hunter: All you'll ever be to them is a number.
Redemption (both in fiction and irl in my humble opinion) comes with making amends and reparations (which is why death 'redemptions' bother me so much but that's a rant for another time). Unlike Emerie, Crosshair never explicitly denounces the Empire or his own actions within it. He never says anything to specifically show if and how his views have changed from what he said on Kamino. He makes amends with his family (sending the warning message, helping Omega escape, making up with Hunter) but that's about it. The most we get in terms of acknowledgement is this:
Crosshair: I thought I knew what I was getting into with the Empire. I thought I was being a good soldier. Hunter: Nobody really understood what was happening back then. Crosshair: I’ve... done things. I’ve made mistakes. Hunter: I have regrets too, Crosshair. All we can do is keep trying to be better, and who knows there just might be hope for us yet.
Which is nice and all but it's more about them making up as brothers so it's way too excusing tbh ("no one knew what was happening back then" ummm? "The Empire will control the entire galaxy, and I am going to be a part of it" remember? And even if at first Crosshair was being controlled by the chip, the fact that he chose to stay after it was removed* means he condones and is therefore still accountable for those actions).
There's also a bit of self-destructive guilt:
Crosshair: Omega, don't risk anything for me. I belong in here.
Crosshair: Omega needs you both. So I’m doing this alone, it’s what I deserve. Hunter: Don’t even think about plan 99, Crosshair. Omega needs all of us.
(which thank you Hunter for pushing back on the death redemption bs and oh look is that a wrap up for the purpose thing?)
But there's no action taken on his part to make up for what he's done or to stand against the Empire (aside from the bare minimum of help with Tantiss, only after it became personally relevant, which like yeah he had trauma to deal with but still).
While I do think the implications/follow-up of Crosshair's turn should have been handled better in S3 (like rip Howzer! he deserved an apology, but that's a rant for another time), I don't necessarily** think this arc is a bad writing choice. It's just saying different things than we expect:
Maybe Crosshair's story is not about standing up against an unjust system, like we see with many other characters (who deserved more screen time but that's a rant for another timeeee). Maybe his story is about how even those who are loyal to the Empire, who actually believe in it, still suffer under and within it's rule. Not to garner sympathy, but to show that there is no winning.
Crosshair has another 'so what changed' convo in S3:E14 with Rampart, in which they draw parallels to each other:
Rampart: You used to believe good soldiers followed orders. Crosshair: Depends on who's giving them. The Empire betrayed us both. Rampart: And you think you can fight them? That's not you. You're like me, loyal to no one but yourself. Crosshair: I've changed.
(note how he says who's giving the orders, not what the orders are)
"Loyal to no one but yourself" describes Rampart much more than Crosshair, since we often saw Crosshair pride himself as a loyal soldier of the Empire whereas we saw Rampart abuse power to be self-serving within the Empire (like when he killed Wilco to save face). But they were both betrayed either way. Vice Admiral Rampart, snively Imperial opportunist through-and-through, shouts "I was following orders!" as he is arrested for the Empire's purposes.
Even Hemlock, the final boss immoral Imperial scientist, who has to be benefiting the most from this system, echoes the expendability idea:
Hemlock: What I am working on is beyond your understanding. Something so vital to the Empire it makes me indispensable.
Then there's CX-2, also set up as a parallel/foil to Crosshair (fight me), who in the end is discarded as no more than a weapon, a tool that served it's purpose, showing us what would have become of Crosshair if he had stayed.
There is no winning in the Empire. Loyalty is not rewarded, it "doesn't go both ways." Everyone has to fight for their value. Even high ranking individuals** who for a time benefit from the injustice, in the end are just pawns to be used up and cast aside at a whim for the Emperor's gain. Even people who are motivated by self-interest alone cannot survive within this system, the only viable option in this galaxy is to fight the Empire and dismantle that system. (unless you conveniently find a magically safe island to hide away on but that's a rAnT fOr AnOtHeR tImE)
Which brings us back to...
Emerie - Cooperation, Compassion, and Choice
(Okay this post has already gotten away from me but I still want to talk about her to show the contrasts.)
Emerie may not have been given a lot of screen time to really flesh out her development, but there is a lot that is pretty clearly implied with her:
Crosshair: They’ll never turn her [Omega] over. Hemlock: They don’t have a choice. She is a clone, and therefore Imperial property. *Camera cuts to an angle more centered on Emerie’s face*
Crosshair: Give me your access card! Emerie: It won’t get you outside!
Emerie: I tried to warn him what would happen if he did not cooperate with the Doctor.
Emerie: Prisoner? Omega, you are no such thing. It will take time to adjust, but you will acclimate. It is far safer in here than out there.
Emerie: You should go back to your room. Crosshair: You mean her cell?
Emerie: Why children? Hemlock: Children are easier to attain and more agreeable to the subjugations. They are unaware of why they are here and what they possess.
Emerie: They're children. Like I was... Was your plan to discard them too? Nala Se: The Empire will keep them in order to control them.
We don't know a lot about Emerie's background, but it's clear that she had a lot less choice than Crosshair and less opportunity or ability to leave. Unlike Crosshair, we never directly hear Emerie's views of the Empire (and she was most likely 'taken under Hemlock's wing' before the Empire even came to power), but lets look at how she talks about the Tantiss:
"Remain calm. Cooperate and you might survive."
"Don't make this worse, Crosshair! There is no escape!"
"All of us serve a purpose here."
"The Doctor will inform me, if it's necessary."
"It's best not to ask questions."
"Escape is not possible, Omega. This is for your own good."
She honestly does the best she can within the system she is also trapped in. She tries to help Crosshair, Omega, and the vault kids in the only way she knows how (warns Crosshair about the hounds and security, tries to protect Omega from Hemlock, tells Scorch his "actions were extreme" with Jax, insists on overseeing Bayrn's retrieval, double checks his m-count (to give him an out), and tries to find out where he came from). When she gives Omega, and later Eva, the doll, I think it shows just how little she really is able to do here (and it's kinda heartbreaking imo).
The framing of this shot especially (after Jax's escape attempt) visually shows how Emerie herself is trapped/imprisoned:
Tumblr media
Despite the fact that very little of this is Emerie's fault, she has very little power and she is doing all she can, the narrative does not excuse her role in the Empire:
Nala Se: What will you do, Emerie? Emerie: There is nothing I can do. I don't have that kind of power. Nala Se: Don't you?
Emerie: I- I was doing my job. Echo: Yeah, I’ve heard that before. You’re a clone. How can you be part of this?
These fighting-the-Bystander-Effect conversations parallel these exchanges:
Hunter: We made a choice, and so did you. Crosshair: Soldiers follow orders. Hunter: Blind allegiance makes you a pawn.
Crosshair: We’re soldiers, we do what needs to be done. Cody: You know what makes us different from battle droids? We make our own decisions, our own choices. And we have to live with them too.
which did not change Crosshair's mind. And honestly, all respect to Echo's disappointed mom glare™ but I think it's clear Emerie had already made her decision, she just needed help to actually be able to do anything about it. When she stopped Echo, with her voice wavering on the verge of tears (ahhh v good voice acting), she clearly had no intention of turning him in. She's on her own in the Empire's most secure facility with very little resources, if she had tried anything on her own she most likely would have failed and been killed
Omega: Emerie, you don't have to do this. Emerie: (sigh) I’m sorry, but I do.
but as soon as she is enabled by an ally, she immediately turns around to help: giving information and getting Echo through security, helping the kids escape, and giving Omega the tablet that allows them to free the other clone prisoners.
Where Crosshair's turn is accompanied by the symbolic imagery of the ice vulture, Emerie's is the removal of her (literally rose-tinted!) glasses:
Tumblr media
Symbolizing how she has shed her previous views/indoctrination that altered her perception of the Empire and blinded her to it's wrongs. It's disillusionment.
Emerie's story shows us that even those who are raised and indoctrinated into this system can, should, and will escape (with needed help). Even those who did not choose to be apart of the Empire and are not making the decisions still have the responsibility and ability to act on what they know is right.
Emerie, whose name means 'Home strength' 'Brave' and 'Powerful', and "reflects the importance of leadership and authority in the workplace".***
While Emerie is only in one more scene after her turn, so the wrap up is a bit rushed, she still very simply does what Crosshair does not:
Emerie: Because I was wrong about this place. And I'm trying to do the right thing.
Echo: I’m sure Senator Chuchi would find what you have to say very helpful for our cause. Emerie: I have a lot to make up for. I’d like to help out however I can.
She admits wrong, takes accountability, commits to making amends, and leaves with Echo to go take on the Empire (which hopefully we will get to actually see more of some day).
So, in short, she's showing us how redemption is done right!
---
Notes:
*Whether this writing choice was good/logical/in-character or not is another discussion entirely, but I'm going off of what we were given, what the show is presenting in the canon text and (reasonably inferred/intentional) subtext. Crosshair is pretty multifaceted and I could only touch on so much here. There's a lot of ways to interpret his character/choices, but I tried to avoid the realm of speculation or fanon explanations (even if they sometimes make more sense lol).
**History and political theory are not my area of expertise at all, so I have NO idea how well this aligns with real-world fascism stuff and therefore what implications this storytelling choice could have. I think the message of like 'if you think you could survive or gain power by doing what the Empire/fascist system wants you are wrong' could be good (like how everyone is actually harmed by the patriarchy type of a thing), but I hesitate bc maybe there are those who would benefit, since it's a hierarchal system, right? If anyone more knowledgeable than me has incite to share, by all means
Either way, I do think it works in-story and in-universe though. It's just in the execution. The main problem (even from a strictly theme/character arc stand point) is the lacking follow-up/consequences for Crosshair in S3. Like you gave your character accountability by removing the chip and I think that's great setup for an arc but you gotta follow through with that and actually hold him accountable!
***I'm always curious when clones have 'normal' names, like why did they chose the name Emerie of all things? So I looked it up. Idk how reliable sources are for name meanings so take it with a grain of salt but it's still fun. Fits pretty well, and clones names have definitely had significant meanings in the past (like how Rex and Jesse both mean 'king') so I'm pretty sure it was intentional.
Anyway, thanks for coming to my tedtalk

So yeah, seen the premiere and had a bit of time to think things over and see what others are saying. My feelings... I’m not sure how I’d summarise them. I guess I’d say something like enjoying it but in a very distant and sceptical way? I’ll write more about the actual episode soon but to start, I should mention the source of my scepticism and hesitation: whitewashing (cut for a spoiler character).
Even back last year when the Bad Batch arc aired, I saw the mutant clones from Clone Force 99 and all of them but Wrecker looked... way lighter than they should? And the implication is that their genetic alterations is why they look, well, whiter? When these deviant clones are allowed to serve because their mutations turn out to be “beneficial” and “positive” instead of disabling?
Yeah... look, I don’t think Filoni and the folks at Lucasfilm are being intentionally racist, but nobody ever thinks they’re racist even when they’re spreading that very racism (well, except a few unashamed bigots like Nazis, but they’re a very clear minority and not really relevant here). Taking clones of a brown man and having them turn out to be whiter and the correlation of that being with genetic traits that enhance existing features instead of making them unfit to serve... yeah, really not a good look. There’s a reason some people have been using #UnwhitewashTBB. Oh yeah, did I mention that Wrecker, the only one with a normal, darker skin tone is the big dumb muscle of the group? And that Tech, the whitest one, is the brains? Crosshair and Tech both look like white dudes, and Hunter even if his tone is darker still looks paler than he should (same with Omega for that matter). And of course, Echo basically has bleached skin because even being frozen shouldn’t deprive him of that much colour, so what the heck? They can’t even justify that one with genetic alterations to the template, which is already a bullshit excuse because... why does having a brain that process information super efficiently or super enhanced eyesight make your skin lighter? There’s no narrative reason for them to be lighter skinned, it’s such a flimsy excuse with weird correlations that send some kinda unfortunate messages. It’s a shame, because the idea behind the Bad Batch is that differences are what make us who we are and that we should value that... and yes, they ARE different from regular clones (which I guess is why they designed them like this???), but they don’t need to be turned into freaking white people to illustrate this. Like, if you really want to show them be different, convey that in features associate with their traits (aka something that Wrecker’s design does, shame being the darkest skin ruins that >:V).
Oh yeah, speaking of whitewashing... the hell is up with Caleb? Oh yeah, Kanan Jarrus from Rebels is here, back when he was still padawan Caleb Dume. When I was watching the episode I was like “wait, is his skin tone right? or is it kinda light for him? also his hair too???” I then saw other reactions and yeah, this is definitely a whitewashed design. Just... why? The fact that they’re retconning a comic whose version of events I honestly prefer doesn’t help at all. How are they gonna excuse this one? That years of being on the run blasted his pasty white skin with too much UV? That he’s stuck inside the temple too much?
It’s apparently an issue that some fans have discussed for years, and I’m glad it finally became clear to me. The most I got concerned about clone whitewashing was when people tried to claim Rex was that dude on Endor, and... no? Just because they both have fucking Santa beards doesn’t mean they’re the same person. But I mean, suddenly hearing these voices all come together with the hashtag finally brought things into perspective. It seems like it’s been an issue for a while, little thing that had me going “huh that’s weird” like 99 looking awfully white even as he’s deformed (oh yeah I also think he’s written in an ableist, even inspiration porny way, but that’s ANOTHER story), the clones in general seeming to have lighter skin tones in places (in TCW it never bothered me tho I have seen criticism of it there, it’s mainly in Expanded Media and Rebels I was asking questions). There’s also Boba Fett in the episode Deception looking weirdly pale?
People have even brought up that Dee Bradley Baker, a white man, voicing these Maori men brings issues, especially with how his accent... isn’t very accurate. Like, I do think he’s a great voice actor, even with the clones and how he’s able to individualise all of them even with the same voice, but... his accent honestly sounds more like a bad Australian one than a New Zealand one, lol. Again, this is something I always noticed and found weird, but only with the recent movement has it really been giving me perspective. Even this took me a while to process, because in voice acting there seems to be more flexibility with who can play who (even if many recent conversations like the one about Apu from The Simpsons have gotten people to ask if when this happens we lean into caricature, which is what people are concerned with here).
Okay this post was actually meant to be a general reaction to the episode, but my whitewashing rant really got out of hand. I do feel like I could’ve been more vocal in the past about some of these things, especially as a white person myself. It’s easy to be complacent out of fear of conflict, and it’s something I do feel I need to work on. I also do want to specifically hear opinions of Polynesian and of course especially Maori Star Wars fans and what they have to say about this, if anyone has anywhere to direct me in that specific regard.
Anyway, that’s all for now. Lucasfilm has a whitewashing issue. I don’t believe there’s deliberate malice, but that makes it even more important to fight - things like this can be normalised to a degree we don’t question it. It’s much harder to unpack unconscious biases and things that are normalised in society than it is to confront the open bigots.

sort of organized shelfie. yep missing shoe, buried dolls. It doesn't look like it but this is progress. I know *what i don't want* which is a big start, managed to list dolls even though i have a panic attack anytime someone actually buys one. Made decisions about hard heads -mostly gone, still need to sort the repaint pile (I can do closed mouth lips now!) and added two small sets of drawers to my desk for supplies -little changes to your workspace can be huge-.
The next steps
Allow bait bundles to go (mh, barbie and misc, bratz, seeped liccas). "Potential" is not enough, you can always get a new bundle of damaged dolls to fix up.
Make decision about gooliope (she's missing 5 plugs in front)
Do I keep my three 1/4th size dolls? Gayle probably will stay if only because she's too broken to leave LOL.
Redo wig listing (there's over 100 ready sewn fur wigs left that's a lot of work and it was a nice steady trickle of income) this would mean doing a new batch of jewelry as I don't like sending them out without a little something.
Test milliput, test sanding and cutting with the new small rotary tool because working with plastic is really NOT like working with other materials.
research where to buy hair (RTD now DHE shipping now starts at $15 from the UK which means no more small orders to top up my stash) and what fibres, if I were to restart commissions.
Have small projects available, broken down by small do-able in one go tasks. The overwhelmedness comes with the SADS but doing a thing helps with the SADS so I must make accomodations without shame. I've managed to reorganize my meals this winter so that's one thing down but hobby stuff has been spur of the moment or not at all.
On a related note could you folks tag awareness posts with donation links with "donate" or "crowdfund" or "appeal" or something.
It's a particular bugbear that can send me spiralling to know that there's a whole continent of poor people crowdfunding to keep eachother alive and sane where taxes go to trillion dollar planes. I'm fine donating to friends, that's not an issue at all, don't be afraid of asking for yourselves and I understand that these things are necessary even if they're temporary bandaids on bullet wounds. I'm just not OK with normalising what is essentially working class reliant charity instead of holding literally anyone else accountable. PM Cameron called this "big government" and it was a way of destroying the social safety net provided by the state and placing the burden on individuals' shoulders to somehow earn the goodwill of strangers. It's barbaric and as someone who's relied on charity most of their life and was denied handicap benefits for 14 years it hits somewhere deep and painful. thanks 💙

Israel : India's new BFF...
Tumblr media
On 4th July, 2017, Narendra Modi became the first sitting Indian prime minister to visit Israel. His counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, was seen alongside Modi on all three days, accompanying him to various industrial and cultural visits. The press duely reported his unusual level of participation, underscoring the significance of the trip for both the countries. Unlike prior diplomatic initiatives, the Indian prime minister did not balance this outreach with a visit to Palestine, India's long time friend, and Israel's staunchest enemy. India and Israel had become new BFFs.
And yet in 1948, when Israel became independent from Great Britain, just months after India did, India refused to recognize Israel as a newly formed country. Till 1992, India and Israel didn't have embassies in each others' countries, though there were informal engagements between the two countries. Since then, the relationship between the two countries has gone from strength to strength.
Today, India is the largest importer of Israeli defense systems. Israel is the second largest defense supplier to India, after Russia. In 1992, India-Israel trade was a paltry USD 200 million. In 2018, it had grown to almost USD 6 billion. India is a top-ten trading partner for Israel. And by the looks of it, this is just the trailer. Picture abhi baki hai.
So, what's the story behind this U-turn of the relationship? How did the indifferent, sometimes frosty relationship between the two countries suddenly blossom into such exuberant friendship? Therein lies a tale.
Tumblr media
Cultural ties between India and Israel are millennia old, because both of them are pretty old civilizations. It is said that King Solomon used teak wood and ivory from the Malabar coast of India to build his palace and other structures in the grand city of Jerusalem, around 900 to 1000 BCE.
Tradition speaks of Jews coming to the Malabar coast of India on exile, after the destruction of the Temple of Solomon, during the Siege of Jerusalem in 587 BCE. The locals welcomed them with open arms. When the second temple of Solomon was also destroyed during the Second Siege of Jerusalem in 68 CE, another batch of Jews arrived in India. Jews have been coming to India ever since.
Tumblr media
Throughout the world, especially in Europe, Jews have been despised and persecuted for ages. India is the only land where they were welcome to live and integrate into the local culture. This is borne out by the fact that some of the oldest Jewish synagogues outside of Israel are in Kerala, India.
Infact, during the reign of Raja Baskara Varman I, the king welcomed the Jews and issued a royal decree in Tamil to the effect that, “the Jews are being given the village of Anjuvannam and it would remain in their possession, so long as the world and moon exist.” Pretty dramatic, huh? The relics recording this conversation are still available.
Tumblr media
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his visit to Israel in 2017, gifted Benjamin Netanyahu with replicas of these relics, reinforcing the strong roots of ties between the two countries.
Tumblr media
In World War I, British Indian soldiers played a key role in the liberation of the cities of Jerusalem, Haifa and Acre, from the Turkish Ottomon Empire and Germans. So, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in turn, gifted Modi with a photo that depicted Indian soldiers on December 11, 1917, leading a British military column to liberate Jerusalem.
Tumblr media
In 1918, soldiers from three Indian regiments, Jodhpur, Hyderabad and Mysore, sacrificed their lives while liberating Haifa, a prominent city in Jerusalem. Cementaries honoring these soldiers exist in Haifa and Jerusalem even today. In fact, the Teen Murti Marg in Delhi, which has been recently renamed as Teen Murti Haifa Marg, commemorates these three regiments.

Why then, one wonders, did the relationship go into a limbo post India's and Israel's independence?
The answer is - ideological differences.
Post India's independence from Britain in 1947, Indian leadership under Nehru took the non-alignment ideoligical path, whereas in reality leaning slightly towards Soviet Union and its pseudo-socialist economy. Whereas, post its independence from Britain just a few months later, in 1948, Israel decided to link its future with the capitalist west, especially the US.
Israel was formed on the basis of religion - It was a Jewish state. Gandhiji didn't like it. For him, Israel was like Pakistan - born with a religious identity.
For Nehruji, the problem was something else. He feared that close relations with the Jewish state might radicalize India's muslim citizens – numbering more than 100 million – and hurt its relations with the Arab world, on which India depended for oil.
So, in 1949, India voted against admission of Israel to United Nations. However, in 1950, India reversed its stand and officially recognised the State of Israel. Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru stated, "We would have recognised Israel long ago, because Israel is a fact. We refrained because of our desire not to offend the sentiments of our friends in the Arab countries."
In 1953, Israel was permitted to open a consulate in Bombay to facilitate smooth emigration of Jews to their newly formed country.
From 1950 to the early 1990s, the relationship remained informal in nature. Domestically, politicians in India feared losing the muslim vote if relations were normalised with Israel. Also, India did not want to jeopardise the large number of its citizen working in Arab Gulf, who were helping India maintain its foreign-exchange reserves. But both governments maintained informal ties, especially in areas of surveillance and intelligence.
Things changed with the formation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, an association of countries having muslim majorities. Many countries with significant muslim populations were given observer status. Pakistan blocked India's entry to that group. That gave India a legitimate reason to make overt diplomatic shifts.
In 1992, P V Narasimha Rao became the Prime minister of a near-bankrupt nation. Probably he had no other option, but somehow in the fading years of his political career, he took some bold decisions. He brought sweeping economic reforms and set the country on course to high growth levels. He made some drastic changes at the diplomatic levels too.
The same year, India opened up its embassy in Tel Aviv and Israel opened its embassy in New Delhi, with consulates in Mumbai and Bengaluru. Formal relationship between the two countries took off at an exponential pace.
In 1997, Ezer Weizman became the first Israeli President to visit India. In 2000, L.K Advani and Jaswant Sinha became the first Indian ministers to visit the state of Israel. In 2003, Ariel Sharon was the first Israeli Prime Minister to visit India. In 2006, Narendra Modi made his first visit to Israel as Chief minister of Gujarat. In 2012, despite "India's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause", Foreign Minister SM Krishna made a two-day visit to Israel. In May 2014, after Narendra Modi became Prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu personally called to congratulated him. Modi, in turn, met Netanyahu in New York City on the sideline of the UN General Assembly during his US visit in 2014. It has been bear hugs, big smiles and hand shakes all the way.
Tumblr media
In 2012, Israel commemorated 20 years of diplomatic relations with India by coming out with a postal stamp, highlighting the similarities between Deepawali, the Indian festival of lights and Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights, both these festivals falling around the same months of October-November.

Today, India and Israel collaborate in multiple areas - military, strategy and intelligence, trade, science and technology, space, agriculture, oil and natural gas exploration, tourism and cultural exchange.
In many ways, Israel has become India's new best friend!

Burning Sanity  - Chapter 6
Here’s the final chapter of Burning Sanity. Sorry it took me so long to update. Real life has unfortunately gotten in the way and taken its toll.
Thank you to everyone who has stuck with me on this, this topic took me out of my comfort zone a little. Special thanks to @lurkingwhump. Your friendship and encouragement has really been a lifesaver these last few weeks.
I took the liberty to fill one of my @badthingshappenbingo squares. Namely, Panic Attack.
When her sobs had finally died down, Jane fell asleep in Kurt’s arms fairly quickly, both the alcohol and her exhaustion winning. He leant down and kissed her tear streaked face, noticing how cold her skin had become. Sighing, he pulled the blanket off the back of the couch, wrapping her up tightly. He turned, lying down, holding her protectively against his chest.
Even in sleep she hadn’t stopped clinging to him. It seemed that he had broken down her protective walls again, and now that he had, there was no way she was going to let him go. She had been trying to deal with her emotional turmoil by herself for far too long.
He shuddered, thinking about what may have happened, had he not woken when he did. She had been drunk, and completely willing to jump over the edge. At that thought, his heart constricted. He adjusted his hold on her, holding her as close and as tight as possible without disturbing her.
What would he have done if he had have lost her? Not from the ZIP poisoning, not from a perp… but by her own hand. He felt his own anguished tears start to leak from the corner of his eyes, his chest so tight he was struggling to breathe.
Jane shifted in his arms, bringing him back to the present. He closed his eyes, trying to normalise his breathing. All of that didn’t matter… he had woken up. She was broken... but safe in his arms.
It was going to be a very long recovery… for the both of them, but her letting him in had been the first step towards their future.
One thing was certain though, he would not be letting her out of his sight for a while.
With her safe, warm and breathing in his arms, he let himself relax, breathing in the scent that was only her.
He was woken sometime later, Jane’s body tense in his arms. Her breathing was laboured, small whimpers escaping her mouth, his shirt damp from her tears.
She was having another nightmare.
Kurt tensed slightly at the position he was in. After what had happened the last time she had had a nightmare, he suddenly felt physically vulnerable. If she were to lash out there was no way he could gain the upper hand without hurting her.
Those thoughts were quashed by the sound of her cries.
“Please…. Stop…” she sobbed.
Kurt’s heart clenched. Whatever she was dreaming about, it was causing her great emotional distress.
“Shhh, Jane… you’re having a nightmare.” he murmured, stroking her hair. She didn’t respond, still trapped in her dream.
Kurt almost jumped when she let out an anguished cry, her breathing quickening.
“No! No no no no no!” she cried.
Kurt sat up, bringing her up with him.
“Jane!” he said louder, deciding he would just deal with it if she were to react physically. He couldn’t bare to see her suffer any longer.
He could feel her starting to panic, her breathing becoming erratic, sobs and chills wracking her frail body. She was clinging to his shirt, wailing into his chest.
“Jane! Sweetheart, wake up!” Kurt called again, shaking her slightly. He felt her body tense. He schooled his features, ready for the potential oncoming attack.
“Kurt?” she squeaked, looking up into his face, her eyes full of anguish. Kurt felt himself relax slightly, the threat of her reacting physically seeming to pass, though the feeling was replaced by a sadness he hadn’t felt before. He watched as his wife’s features crumpled completely, her breathing coming out in short restricted gasps.
“Sssh…” he whispered into her ear. “It was just a nightmare.”
Jane sobbed into his chest, unable to get a control on her tormented mind. Kurt could feel the panic settling in and adjusted her so she was cradled against his chest, but also so he could see her face.
“I’ve got you baby, everything’s ok… just breathe.”
##########################################################################
Jane could feel herself beginning to hyperventilate, the panic from her dream well and truly taking over.
She could still see the images of her nightmare flashing through her mind.
She felt like she was underwater, unable to breathe, unable to move, a loud rushing sound buzzing through her ears.
Her whole body was shaking, a cold chill creeping into her bones.
“Jane, you need to slow your breathing down, you’re having a panic attack.” she heard Kurt’s voice say through the void.
She choked on a sob, hearing Roman’s voice in her head.
There’s a place in your mind, that no one can get to… a place that belongs only to you. No matter what they say, no matter what they do, no one can reach you there. Pain is a dream.
Pain is a dream. Pain is a dream.
She started repeating that over and over in her mind, until she could feel the weight beginning to lift off of her chest. Seems that works for mental pain as well as physical pain.
“It’s ok baby.” she heard Kurt murmur, rubbing her back. “I've got you.”
She clung to his shirt, trying to take deep breaths in order to calm down.
“I'm so sorry.” she whispered. “I never wanted any of this to happen.”
“Sshh.” he soothed into her ear. “We’re gonna get through this. Everything’s gonna be ok.”
Jane sniffed, looking up at him, she lifted her hand, caressing his stubbled jaw.
“Do you want to talk about it?” he asked, now that she was beginning to settle.
She nodded softly, knowing that the only way she was ever going to be able to heal was if she let him in completely.
She opened her mouth to speak, but no noise came out, flashes of her nightmare running through her head again.
She was looking into a concrete room, separated from the room by a one way mirror. In the middle of the room was the figure of a man, kneeling on the floor with his hands handcuffed behind his back. He had a black hood on his face, his body slumped in pain.
Another figure entered the room, this one more feminine. Jane watched the woman come into view, watching in horror as she recognised her to be herself. Remi.
Remi roughly removed the black hood off of the man’s face, exposing Kurt’s bloodied and battered face.
“No…” she whispered.
Remi smiled at the mirror, knowing Jane was watching. She took a knife out of the sheath on her belt, holding the blade to Kurt’s throat.
“Let’s see how you cope, knowing that you were the one that killed him.” Remi snarked, jerking the knife along Kurt neck, slitting his throat.
Jane watched in anguish as he choked and spluttered, falling to the ground in a puddle of his own blood. He jerked once, and was still, the light draining from his eyes.
Jane let out a devastated cry, turning her head so she didn’t have to see the lifeless form of her husband.
Her head was jerked back towards the window, Remi had appeared behind her, grabbing fistfuls of her hair.
“No you look.” she growled. “You look at what you did.”
Jane shook her head, tears leaking down her face.
“I didn’t do this.” she sobbed. “You did.” She closed her eyes, trying to block out the scene in front of her.
Remi laughed.
“Is that so?”
Confused, Jane looked down at her bloodstained hands, the bloodsoaked knife having appeared out of nowhere. She could see her reflection in the knife’s blade, though Remi was nowhere to be found. She was alone in the room, kneeling on the concrete floor, Kurt’s body just feet away.
“Kurt…” she squeaked, throwing the knife away and crawling to his side. She had killed him. It was all her fault. She picked his lifeless head up, hugging him to her chest. “No! No no no no no!” she sobbed, wailing against his lifeless cheek.
“Jane?” she heard his voice again, coming back to the present.
She took a few more deep breaths, trying to keep her breathing under control.
“Oh Kurt.” she whispered, moving so she could hold his head against her chest. “I’m so sorry.”
Slightly confused, Kurt pulled away from her, angling himself so he could look at her properly.
“Jane? What happened?” he asked gently. “It’s ok… you can tell me.”
Jane hung her head.
“I killed you.” Was all she said, before a fresh batch of tears rolled down her face.
Kurt frowned. He had not been expecting that. He reached out, cupping her face, wiping her tears away. She leaned into his touch.
“Talk to me.” he almost pleaded.
She took a shuddering breath in, before she told him of her dream. Of how she had watch Remi kill him, only to realise she had slit his throat herself.
“Jane… you need to stop blaming yourself for everything that has happened.” He paused choosing his words carefully. “You made some horrible decisions as Remi… but Jane… everything that she did… that you did… it can all be fixed.”
Jane shook her head, swallowing thickly.
“Kurt… the day you walked into the kitchen, when you found me with the poison… that wasn’t for me… it was for you.”
He nodded softly.
“I know.”
Jane’s eyes widened.
“You knew?” she asked incredulously.
Kurt nodded again.
“When I found out you had reverted back to Remi, I had speculated.”
Jane’s chin wobbled.
“You’ve known this whole time… that I was going to kill you… and you forgave me?”
Kurt shifted, taking her clammy hand in his own.
“As I’ve said before, Remi didn’t have access to all of the information either… she could only remember her hate… besides, I figured you were beating yourself up enough for the both of us.”
“Kurt… I’m so sorry…” she whispered.
He shushed her again, kissing the back of her hand.
“We will get through this together. You just can’t shut me out anymore.”
She nodded softly.
“I won’t…” she promised.
She reached out, cupping the side of his face.
“How did I ever get so lucky?” she whispered, before allowing herself to be pulled into his embrace.
They stayed tangled on the couch until the early hours of the morning, just enjoying being in each others embrace.
She looked up at him, resting her chin against his chest.
“Thank you.” she whispered. “For everything.”
He smiled gently, kissing her on the forehead, before settling her back against him.
“Always.” he whispered.
“I love you.” she murmured, inhaling his scent.
“And I love you.” he replied against her hair.
They held each other tightly, knowing the battle wasn’t quite over, but also knowing that they would get through whatever life threw at them, so long as they stuck together. Jane knew that the only way to move forward with her life, was to let him in. Shutting him out only made things worse. She knew that now, and she vowed to never let it happen again.
