“Gotham Knights” Videogame Getting Prequel Comic Book Series

DC Comics has announced a 6-issue limited comic book prequel series for Warner Bros. Montréal’s upcoming Gotham Knights videogame. Batman: Gotham Knights - Gilded City hails from writer Evan Narcisse and artist ABEL.

In the videogame Gotham Knights, Batman is dead and so Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin must rise up as the protectors of Gotham City. In Batman: Gotham Knights - Gilded City “a mysterious virus has infected Gotham City—turning its victims into rabid, yellow-irised maniacs driven to looting, theft, and bursts of anger. Batman – in his final case before his death – and his Gotham Knights struggle to keep this strange virus contained while investigating its origins.” However, this is not the first time Gotham City has faced this illness and the series splits between present day and the 1800s. Turns out Batman isn’t the first of Gotham’s vigilantes as the Runaway becomes known to the Dark Knight.

Each issue of Batman: Gotham Knights - Gilded City will also include an exclusive code videogame owners can redeem for in-game items. The first code is for the BOSO22 Batcycle Skin. Readers who redeem all six codes will get a special seventh item.

Batman: Gotham Knights - Gilded City #1, featuring a main cover by Greg Capullo, a wraparound variant cover by Jim Lee and Scott Williams, a variant cover by Yanick Paquette, and a variant cover by Christopher Mitten, goes on sale on October 25, 2022. Gotham Knights the videogame also launches on October 25.

Hi! Still loving the second hand batman content, and I always will. Looks like y'all do be going thru it. I'm sorry your characters are having difficulties. Im writing to inquire about this one specifically "who gave them the right to make bruce so hot in the comic where hes going to end up dead anyway". Is 'bruce' bruce wayne? did they kill batman? also you dont have to answer this if you dont want. i hope you have a very nice, boring new year <3

lmao, it happens all the time, it's fine at this point.

But yeah, those panels in the "who gave them the right?" post is from the prequel comic to Gotham Knights, where he dies for like the millionth time.

He dies all the time. Like, give him a week, and he'll be back.

Except for in the game because he's supposed to be permanently dead. Or at least permanently dead long enough for Barbara, Tim, Jason, and Dick to have character growth from it. If they ever make a sequel, I doubt they would bring Bruce back (again), but if they did, that would be like a true comic "go crazy, go stupid" style.

That comic takes place before the events of his death at the beginning of the game and kind of fills out their canon a bit more because there are some changes (most of them not that bad)
