58 years on the planet next month, the last 13, #vegan. Aerobics with weights as much as possible, shooting for 5 days a week. This includes #aerobicactivity, #stretchingforflexibility, and lifting light weights. I don't: fast, cleanse, or diet. I just eat #healthyveganfood as much as I want. The last few weeks I've fallen into a SAD, binging (one b/p), self neglect hole. BUT NO MORE! Decided that atm, the easiest way for me to stop binging is to not have to rely on solid food, so bulk bought meal replacement drinks. They are "clinically lactose free" but not vegan (a tiny amount of milk protein and vit D is probs an issue too), this and having so much plastic waste is against what I aim for in life :( But sometimes you have to be a bit selfish in life, I don't want to make myself miserable again! I had a magical bath last night and feel more connected to the world :) The next few days/weeks I will: pick up my meds cos I've ran out, attempt to make a Dr's appointment to ask for bridging hormounes, book a smear test, clean the flat, maybe decorate the flat, Christmas shopping and talk to all the people I've not replied to or cancelled plans with :) #edrecovery #ednosrecovery #bedrecovery #bingeeatingdisoder #bulimiarecovery #seasonalaffectivedisorder https://www.instagram.com/p/B52wiwCH4eo/?igshid=1209fea0a4xia

The Best Keto Low Carb Vegetable Soup Recipe from @wholesomeyum. I added #coconutmilk and #soychunks, but I think it would have been good anyway. Some people doing #lowcarbvegan also include intermittent fasting. I used to have an eating disorder and not eating when I was hungry was part of it. I had #bingeeatingdisoder, but not eating when you're hungry is also a component of anorexia. So, to me, "fasting" just sounds like a gateway for a bunch of people to get an eating disorder. You'll never see me voluntarily be hungry ever again. Are you kidding me? I have the privilege to be able to afford healthy food in abundance. Voluntarily starving myself when I don't have to and calling it "fasting" is messed up on many levels. EATING DISORDER⁣ 💜 ⁣ ✖️ trigger warning ✖️⁣ ⁣ One of the BEST parts about overcoming an eating disorder is being able to go out and eat. ⁣ ⁣ For years I wished I could enjoy giants bowls of pasta like this. ⁣ ⁣ I avoided parties, events, dinners and would cook all of my food for the week on a Sunday and didn’t eat a thing that wasn’t on my meal plan. My meal plan was under 1,000 calories a day, nowhere near enough food. It’s a miserable life and I’m so glad I did the work to overcome my eating disorder. ⁣ ⁣ Some of the other amazing parts about recovery:⁣ ⁣ - The glow in your face⁣ - The bounce in your hair ⁣ - Going out for the day without Tupperware boxed up meals and instead stopping when you see something that looks yum⁣ - Putting on workout clothes but deciding to go for a walk instead ⁣ - Saying YES when your wife pours potato chips on your plate after you’ve just eaten a meal (this happened today).⁣ ⁣ It’s the big things and the small things. ⁣ ⁣ I know the holidays can be a really hard time when it comes to recovery and I’m here to remind you that you are not alone 💛⁣ ⁣ What are some ideas you have this holiday season to take care of yourself? LATE NIGHT BINGE EPISODES 🙅🏼‍♀️⁣ ⁣ You are talking to your girl who used to binge eat at least 15,000 calories an evening so listen up 👇🏼 ⁣ Set yourself up for success and don’t expect change to happen overnight.
⁣ One of my go to tips is to make some protein ball ahead of time and store them in the freezer. When the urge to binge comes, take a few of them out and eat them.⁣ 
Why does this help?⁣ ⁣ 1. The time they take to defrost can often be enough to reduce the strong urges to binge/over indulge.⁣ 2. Even if you do overindulge on these, when they are made with healthy ingredients the intense guilt won’t follow as badly. ⁣ 3. !!ANNOUNCEMENT!! No. We’re not pregnant.😂 These pics were actually taken just minutes a part🙈 - But last night, emotions got in the way of my meal plan, my goals, & fueling my body WELL. & Halo Top ice cream was CALLING my name🍦🤤 I debated whether or not I was gonna give in & FEED my emotions. I knew it wasn’t going to help anything. I knew it wasn’t going to change anything that I was ACTUALLY dealing with inside.... So why did I give in????? - BECAUSE. it’s ok to every now & then.🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s ok to treat ourselves every once in awhile with food that DOESN’T do good things for our bodies. I call it “soul food” ;) Cause no, I’m not starving or dying, I really DIDN’T need it. But it was fun & spontaneous & sometimes soul food is what helps us PROCESS our deeps emotions. - It DOESN’T mean I’ve “fallen off” for forever. It DOESN’T mean I’m “fat” It ONLY means what I want it to mean. - And BECAUSE I didn’t let it mean anything MORE than a treat... Today: I didn’t beat myself up about it. I got up. Got my workout in.💪🏽 Drank my celery juice.🥬 Ate my kale.🌱 And I’m back on track already. Feeling 💯🤩 - Wherever you’re at today, Remember to eat the kale BECAUSE you love yourself. Day 17 I trimmed my beard! I'm also down to 147.9kg. I have no idea why I'm doing daily weigh-ins. Morbid curiosity I guess? Hopefully it maintains my motivation (as it has been) rather than driving it down with natural fluctuations! I have am interested in exploring the idea of water fasting and Intermittent fasting. Though maybe not just yet. Right now, I'm trying to solidify this lifestyle change. Something I can sustain forever. So far, I think I can do it! In fact, motivationally I know that I can. It's just a matter of nutrition. Maybe I'll get to the point where my fat reserves aren't enough. That would be ideal! Then it's a matter of working back in more foods at a steady pace.
