I feel like I'm going to be 10x much sleep deprived if I become a hero, also ironic that I became spiderman when I'm terrified of spiders.... ah well, hope you guys liked it! (بwب)
Putting my thanksgiving recipe here… which is more of a method I guess.
We ran out of bowls, so it’s in a pie plate.
Here I keep it super simple.
Gather it:
5 lb. bag of Yukon Gold Potatoes
1 Stick Butter
1 cup of Buttermilk
8 oz. Sour Cream
32 ox. box of turkey broth.
Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, White Pepper, Salt to taste
Do it:
Peel the potatoes, don’t be afraid to leave a bit of…
Even when if you fuck it up, they're still good. Protip: boil them before roasting them. Trust.
2. Dauphinoise potatoes
My friend's boyfriend made these for my birthday this year and when I tell you that I nearly kissed that man. I ate an entire baking dish full of them. I basically reenacted a porno while eating.
3. Mashed potatoes
The OG. A GOAT.
4. Baked potatoes
Whack some cheese and butter on that shit and I am at your mercy
5. Potato Wedges
Better than chips. Do not come for me, I speak only truth. This is hands down the best pub side dish. Paired with sour cream and sweet chili sauce? To die for.
What is your favourite way to eat potatoes? (Mashed, roasted, boiled, hot chips, crisps .. you get the picture) 🥔
Okay, so...DEPENDS ON THE TYPE OF POTATO!
Also depends on what you're eating with it.
Yeah. I know.
Okay, basic ass potatoes? Mash them bitches and flood them with butter. Delicious. Classic. Goes great with a meat as your main.
Red baby potatoes? Cut em up, toss em in some spices and oil/butter, roast them until they are crispy and crunchy. A lil' sour cream on the side for dipping. Eat those bitches on their own. That is my meal in whole.
Baby yellow potatoes? Oh my gods I miss living near my local farms because BABY POTATOES ARE SO GOOD! Just boil them for a bit, top them with butters, and eat em as is. Alone or with something. So good.
A baked potato is also like the thing you need.
So. Like. I don't have favourite. I love potatoes. Period.
Also chips=fries and crisps=chips. I'm Canadian baby 🇨🇦✌🏼
come fill my ask box with q's or confessions -- anon or not!
There's still a lot of people and anons flirting in my inbox and whenever I read them this is literally the face I'm making.. ah goodness I don't even know what responses to draw anymore so just enjoy this drawing of mine of me just being a flustered mess.... since.. this is the reaction you guys want right??
Heat Olive Oil in a large pot. Add in the whole Garlic Cloves until golden brown.
Add chopped Celery and diced potatoes, adding in a bit of water to the bottom of the bot to avoid burning. Cover with a lid, stir occasionally, and add water as needed for 15 minutes or until ingredients are softened.
Add veggie broth to the pot, bring it up to a boil, and let simmer for a good 15-20 minutes to let the flavors get to know each other. This is the best time to add whatever seasonings you want.
Carefully use your hand blender and puree the soup. If using a regular blender, carefully pour contents of the pot into the blender and puree. Add milk or milk substitute* to the puree and blend again.
Serve hot with your choice of toasted Bread. (I tend to make Focaccia Rosemary bread to go with it.)
Notes and Substitute recommendations:
🥛: Milk is used to help thicken this soup. For a milk substitute, I'd recommend either coconut milk, a cornstarch/water mix or just simply adding another potato to either help thicken the soup, make it vegan, or to avoid allergies/intolerances.
🍲 This is one of those soups you can easily just eyeball the amounts rather than measuring, and you can easily make a lot of it. It stores pretty well too. Easily one of my favorite comfort foods.
This deceptively simple dish is a favorite among Whiterun’s companions, where it is always served in a round shape to symbolize their equality with one another. They fight together, drink together, and, perhaps most importantly, feast together in the hall of Jorrvaskr. As the companions are proficient hunters, these meatballs might be made of whatever has been freshly caught, be it bear, venison, boar, mammoth, or what have you.
1. Preheat oven to 450°F & rub the potatoes all over with the oil, place them on a baking sheet & roast for about 15 minutes, until they are soft but not cooked all the way through.
2. While the potatoes are baking, make the meatballs by combining the ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, sour cream, garlic, & stormcloak seasoning. Mix throughly & form into balls, roughly the size of the potatoes. When the potatoes are done, remove them from the oven & turn the heat down to 350F
3. Cut the potatoes roughly into 1/2 inch thick rounds, keeping the slices all together in a potato shape. Alternate the potatoes & meatballs in a casserole dish until the dish is full. Mix together the boiling water, sour cream, and tomato paste in a small bowl or measuring cup, then pour over the meatballs & potatoes until the liquid comes most of the way up the sides of the casserole dish, bake for 25-30 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through.
TIP:
These proportions make enough for 4 stalwart warriors, but the recipe can easily be scaled up for a larger gathering.
I hope you enjoyed this recipe more to follow soon,
