Strange thought but Sebek’s dad is definitely a Isekai protagonist.

Think about it:

He pursued being a dentist in a place where humans are mostly hated probably because he thinks fae are super cool and he wants to help them cause they don’t have a dentist and he wants a challenge when it comes to dentistry

Not to mention his super hot fae wife who could break boulders with her bare hands

And the super scary grandpa he pisses his pants thinking about

Oh the trials of love he went through to get daddy baul’s approval

But truth be told his wife probably didn’t give Baul much of a choice

“Either you let me marry this human or I leave and never come back!”

He basically checks off all the boxes for Isekai protagonist except he’s not op or anything. He’s just living life how he wants to and now he’s happily married with 3 beautiful children.

If this was a manga I would definitely 20/10 read. The usual Isekai manga plots are getting old and their protagonists suck.

Maybe I’ll just make it myself.

Nothing prompted this but I wanted to share this cause idk if people still do this but I hate whenever someone calls Florid “abusive” or “bully x victim” because that’s simply not true at all. We need to remember, Floyd is canonically a violent character. In his PE Vignette, he literally threatened to squeeze Ace out of nowhere just for annoying him during one of his mood swings. In his labwear vignette, he’s seen threatening two students who got mad at him for bumping into them. And then there’s the panels from the Octavinelle manga and just that scene from Book 3 alone.

This is not to say he’s mindlessly violent ofc, but it’s not like he’s docile either. But when we look at him and Riddle’s interactions, it’s just simple teasing such as calling him short or stealing his books. This doesn’t really count as canon but the panels in the anthology manga of him calling Riddle “amazing” and I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) in one of the Halloween events, he noticed Riddle wasn’t eating as much and literally made him eat after he said “I’ve had enough calories for today” saying he knows Riddle likes sweets (I read that from the ship wiki so my info might be off so do correct me please). I’d say he’s nicer to Riddle than almost everyone that isn’t Jade or Azul. And I believe it’s implied that there’s some infatuation of some sorts with Riddle’s hair color as he’s mentioned how dull colors are underwater, and I believe it’s also mentioned in his beanfest vignette.

I’m just saying that if Floyd was actually bullying Riddle, it would not stop at book stealing or teasing. This is not to say Riddle is helpless at all either, Riddle can kick ass. He sent Floyd launching through the air on orientation (Beanfest vignette). So calling it bully x victim/abusive is really odd imo.

There’s also the idea that Riddle hates Floyd? He doesn’t seem to hate him at all?? I’d say it’s more like a small annoyance which can be resolved once they get to know each other more. I don’t know if the Stitch Event was canon but I think that was a prime example of them actually getting to know each other (again, ship wiki. I’m not that far into the game sorry T_T).

RIDDLE: Gave my mom a lecture because she wouldn't stop leaving lights on around the house.

ACE: I make him fine delicious wonderful delicate magnificent ethnic dishes and he fucking puts ketchup in them.

DEUCE: Currently sitting on the couch watching something on TV but he has a chair on his head.

TREY: 5 minutes straight complimenting a brioche bread I brought home from the market. When I had to go back for groceries two weeks later and he asked me to bring it again and I had to tell him I didn't remember which bread it was he was really disappointed.

CATER: Got rickrolled and immediately made the guys reenact the scene to send it to me in a vid and ruin MY morning too.

LEONA: He's a very heavy sleeper so if he wants to get to his school (7 minutes away from our house BTW) on time, which is at 9am, he has to set alarms every five minutes starting at 6.50am. They're extremely loud and everyone in the house wakes up to them. He doesn't. He stills get to school late, just with all of us mad at him.

He also doesn't understand when they get annoyed so he can only pet them in front of me and my mom. (EXTRA: had to leave his rowing team because he was too tall for his league's boats)

I just read this and oh boy do I have ideas!

What if Heartslabyul had a bunch of bean bags that were shaped like the four different card suits? And the couch cushions were also shaped like card suits? I can already imagine all five Heartslabyul boys flopping down on the card suit bean bags after a tough day in P.E. And maybe some of them would be cuddling a smaller card suit pillow while catching some Z's!

Savannaclaw would definitely have an area for the students to wind down after a day of training. Cushions? Fans? Water? Snacks? They've got them all. They might be hot-headed at times but they definitely won't say no to a big cuddle pile after training or winning a Magishift game.

Octavinelle probably doesn't have bean bags or anything, they'd probably have a more formal lounge where the students can sit down, rest, and do homework. They'd at least have some seashell-shaped chairs, but nothing too casual. Floyd, however, would definitely have bean bags in his room.

Scarabia's already set with all those nice looking cushions and blankets out in the dorm's lounge! Though with how hot the dorm can get during the day, you'd likely only see students hanging out in the dorm later at night. They'd definitely have plenty of water fountains and other places to get drinking water too. Gotta stay hydrated!

Pomefiore would likely have a formal lounge similar to Octavinelle. But it'd likely be 100% serious, so no fun chairs shaped like different things. :( At least the chair fabric has some really pretty patterns to trace with your finger.

Ignihyde would have the best AC, no doubt about it. Students would definitely hang out in the lounge, but it looks like there's only hard furniture in there, so they likely wouldn't rest there for very long. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a gaming cafe somewhere in that dorm. I don't see Idia using it very much, but the cafe would likely be a huge hit among the other Ignihyde students!

Diasomnia strikes me as one of the dorm's that would get snow during the winter. The lounge would likely come alive during that time, where the students gather around the various fireplaces to enjoy some nice hot drinks and chat with each other. And maybe have a snowball fight, but I don't think the outer area of the dorm would particularly allow that with all those thorns everywhere... It's a good thing Diasomnia's weather is hopefully on the cooler end. I don't think any of the students would like to try peeling themselves off of a leather chair/couch on a hot day.

BEAN BAGS!!!! THAT'S THE NAME IN ENGLISH, YES!!! here I was calling them "puffs" bc that's what we call them here

About the small card suit cushions, I think Trey has a clover shaped pillow on his bed! You can see it in his room background!

So yes, I do believe Heartslabyul dorm has many card suit shaped cushions, as well as a couple of decorative pillows with pictures of white rabbit and hares, some are shaped like pocket watches too (I'm betting to believe Riddle has a very round plush of a hedgehog hiding in his room~)

I'm sure everyone likes to lounge around the big waterfall pool in Savanaclaw (the best spot to sunbathe in), but they also have a nice lounge with mini fridges and all sort of snack and fruit pantries to relax in. Like Scarabia, they also have water fountains to drink from everywhere in the dorm

Octavinelle students are getting accustomed to their life on land, and I believe the picture they're taught to be the "best" one to make a good impression in others is to be formal. Their lounge is composed of nice leather sofas with the occasional cushion that has patterns of shells, starfish, and seaweed. However, there's a rumor of a clam shaped bed hidden somewhere in the dorm... You sleep on the bottom shell and the top one acts as headboard, the pillows are circular to mimic pearls

Floyd definitely has sea animal plushies in his room, I'm certain. Jade has a couple, courtesy of Floyd, as does Azul (also due to Floyd)

I agree!! Scarabia students prefer to hang around their wonderful cozy lounge at night, since the desert is cooler in that time of day! A wonderful way to ensure a good night's sleep: share a cup of tea and a chat with friends in the lounge after dinner

Yeah, Pomefiore is very elegant and formal. But the cushions and tables have very elaborate patters sewn/carved to them! Out of topic, but I feel like Pomefiore would have all sort of hygiene products in stock in their bathrooms: toothpaste, soaps, shampoo and conditioner, lotions, moisturizers, cleansers, pads, tampons, even some basic foundation and powder!

Oh, definitely, Ignihyde has the best AC and heating units. I can see Ignihyde's lounge having a couple PCs, little round tables with seating for four, and a whole plethora of board games to entertain yourself with. I bet the students are also contributing to build a movie and manga mini library within their lounge

Diasomnia getting lively in winter seems so adorable to me 🥺💖 Seeing everyone share a nice warm drink and bundle themselves up in thick blankets with friends (or alone), in sofas and on the floor... A precious sight! There's something of seeing people in their favorite sweater or hoodie that is just so delightful! I'd love to see everyone in Diasomnia do so!

Btw, Diasomnia probably has a big stock of all sort of hot drinks: coffee (beans, instant, grounds, whichever you prefer), a very colorful variety of teas and infusions, different brands of hot chocolate, you name it!
