My list of movies I think Steve would like is basically just like movies that are similar to Animal House* and also some sports movies. And maybe some Tom Cruise and the odd John Hughes/typical teen movie I guess
*he doesn’t hesitate to say it when Keith asks for his top 3 movies so I’m assuming it really is his fave??

❤: Which character do you think is the most egregiously mischaracterized by the fandom?
Thank you for sending this in!!! <3
This is a tough question bc with my current obsession (Stranger Things) there's a lot of characters that I feel get mischaracterized by the fandom.
But since I already talked about Nancy and Joyce in some of my other responses to this ask game I think I'll talk about Steve in this one:
I really don't get why the fandom (or at least parts of the fandom i stumble across quite often) feminizes him so much.
Now, I'm all for femme dudes. I am a femme dude and I love seeing that sort of thing in fiction. I even really love seeing more traditionally masculine characters exploring their more feminine sides.
But i see so many fics feminize him to the point that the character is to me unrecognizable. These depictions of Steve don't feel (to me) like a fun new twist on the character, or exploring the potential of something that's underexplored in the canon, or exploring how things might have turned out different if x, y, or z had been changed.
They just kind of feel like some character i don't know masquerading as a character i find really interesting and compelling in the canon.
Along a similar vein, I don't like when I see him depicted as being stupid about everything?
Steve is shown to not be smart in the same ways as many of the other characters, and he is frequently paired up with characters that are just generally very academically smart (compared to everyone) such as Nancy and Dustin. But he is also, repeatedly, shown to be very competent and capable in a lot of other ways (even if he doesn't do well in school).
One area in particular, is that in the canon Steve is generally pretty socially acute (with some inconsistencies bc the show sucks at consistent characterization). He is also really good at being presented with new information or a new situation and adapting quickly and skillfully (even if he freaks out a bit about it in the process).
He may not be good at writing essays. He may not know as much about science or history as Dustin does.
But Steve is not only good at listening to people who know more about a subject than him, but also at getting the work done and doing what is necessary to action that info in any given situation.
He also is repeatedly shown to have a decent amount of common sense, something which those super academically smart characters he's often paired with tend to lack.
So I really don't like how often i see him depicted at just being so incompetent and stupid about everything. And i don't like when the canon contradicts itself to try and show him like this also.

Could i request a silly little friends to lovers where eddie and reader are kind of stepping around each other but one day reader gets a boyfriend and after steve and robin point out he looks like eddie, she doesnt want eddie to meet him but eddie walks into family video while reader and her boyfriend are there, it was just a casual thing that fades out and eddie n reader eventually get together when eddies all flirty about reader being into dudes that look like him n they admit their feelings
Um, yes, absolutely!! Thanks so much for the request, lovely!! Also, unpopular opinion, but I will always pick friends to lovers over enemies to lovers!
cw: hurt/comfort
Ever since you and Eddie had become friends, everyone seemed to think that the two of you were together, even your own friends. As much as you both tried to deny it, there was definitely something between you and Robin and Steve had been waiting for the two or you to realize just how in love with each other you were.
You seemed pretty close until you suddenly got a boyfriend. A boyfriend that suspiciously looked a little too similar to Eddie. You had brought him into Family Video a few days after you had made it official and Robin and Steve just shared a look after you had told them the news.
Why you were dating an Eddie doppelgänger when the real thing had been in front of you the entire time, they didn't know. But they did think it was a little funny. That you were in such denial of your feelings that you were willing to date someone who looked like your crush instead of going after him.
You didn't know why you felt the need to hide your relationship from Eddie, but you did it anyway. Perhaps it was because you knew that Adam looked exactly like him and knew that he would think it was weird. Or perhaps you had only been dating Adam because you were afraid to start something with Eddie and this was the closest you could get without officially pulling the trigger on starting something with your best friend.
Family Video wasn’t very crowded when you came in and you pulled Adam inside as both Robin and Steve avoided your gaze. They weren’t exactly sold on the guy because one, he looked like an off brand Eddie and two, for lack of a better word, the guy was just an ass. He was rude to them anytime they came into contact and even worse to you and they wondered why he was even with you in the first place since he seemed to dislike you.
“Do you want to get a romance this time?” You asked, pulling him over to the section and Adam just rolled his eyes.
“Sure," he nodded pressing his lips to yours just as Eddie walked into the building. He caught sight of the two of you and felt a pit form in his stomach as he turned and left.
He couldn't believe it. He couldn't fucking believe it. Since when had you been dating someone? And why hadn't you told him? That was usually something you told your best friend and there you were, keeping it a secret.
Eddie marched back into the building just as you and the man broke apart and when they turned to face Eddie, everything became clear. Looking at Adam was like looking in a mirror. Well, not exactly, but close enough.
"Eddie," your eyes widened and you tried to stand in front of Adam as a way to hide him, but the man slightly moved you to the side so he could get a look at the man.
"Adam, nice to meet you," your boyfriend out his hand out to shake and Eddie took it, plastering on a smile as he did so, not wanting to cause a scene even though he wanted nothing more than to yell at you for keeping such a huge secret from him.
"Likewise," Eddie nodded and pulled his hand away before grabbing a random movie and taking it to the register because he thought it would look weird leaving a second time without a making a purchase.
The tension between you and Eddie wasn't lost on Adam and he thought that it would only be right to break things off with you so you could tell Eddie how you really felt. You felt like it was a very mature thing of his to do, but that didn't stop you from being a little sad about it even though your relationship had been nothing but casual.
So, with a lot of hype from Steve and Robin, you went over to Eddie's to set the record straight, but he wouldn't let you in. You continued to bang on the door, pleading for him to answer until it finally opened, Wayne on the other side.
"He's in his room," he told you and opened the door wider so you could step inside. No one had been rooting for the two of you to get together more than Wayne he was hoping that that was finally the night where things finally became official.
but unfortunately for him, his nephew was a stubborn idiot that would rather be angry at you for something silly than just admit that he was really upset because you were in a relationship and not because you had kept it from him.
You stepped into his room and Eddie just turned his chair away from the door so that his back was to you. He had his arms crossed over his chest like a toddler who hadn't gotten their way and you just wanted to laugh because of how ridiculous he was acting.
"Eddie," you said his name and he only turned father away from you. "Eddie," you repeated and marched over to him, turning his chair so that he'd finally face you. "If it makes you feel any better, Adam broke up with me." That did make him feel better, but he wasn't going to tell you that.
He just turned his head away as you got on your knees in front of him, resting your hands on his thighs that he had to pretend that he didn't absolutely love.
"Eddie would you please look at me?" He only glared so you reached up and gently took his face in you hand, forcing him to look you in the eye. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for lying to you and I'm a terrible friend and-"
"You're not a terrible friend, y/n."
"Well, you're treating me like I'm one."
"I'm not mad that you lied to me, okay?" He stood up from the chair and you just backed away to give him some room, watching him pace back and forth.
"Then what is this about?"
"This is about you, about me, about us!" His voice was getting louder with each word and you were trying to figure out why he was so angry.
"What about us, Eddie?" You were still unsure of what he was talking about and wished he would just get to the fucking point so you could be in on the secret too.
"God, do I have to spell it out for you?" He marched over to you and pulled you to your feet before pulling you into his arms and pressing his lips to yours roughly. You gasped into his mouth then eventually melted into him, your arms wrapping around his waist as you responded to his kiss. Just when you were getting into it, he pulled away and pressed his forehead to yours, all smiles.
"I love you, okay? I've loved you for a long time and now I'm not afraid to say it."
"Good, because I love you too," you replied before slotting your lips between his as you licked into his mouth, pulling him over to the bed, both of you eager to make up for all the time you lost.

Tumblr media
"Fear No Mort" was constant whiplash. In fact, I struggled to evaluate this episode at first because it was one twist after another. Throughout the episode, I had flashbacks to "M. Night Shaym-Aliens!" (the rap scene might've been a direct reference) and the Rickbot reveal in "Ricktional Mortpoon's Rickmas Mortcation."
For better or worse, season seven's had a lot of callbacks and episodes that mirrored previous ones: "That's Amorte" played out like "Mortynight Run"; "Air Force Wong" brought together Dr. Wong, the president and Unity; "Rise of the Numbericons: The Movie" was a "Get Schwifty" sequel.
Seasons six and seven have also piled on the fanservice. The first four seasons stubbornly refused to give us what we want, dangling fan theories or a gentler Rick in our faces before yanking it away. Rick started to change in season five, but it's another ten episodes before you get Rick in a suit and tie, Rick announcing that Rickcest is canon, Rick regularly going to therapy, Space Beth joining the family and other content that's floated around the fandom since 2017.
And let's not forget the big one: C-137 Rick and Morty, Prime Rick and Evil Morty in one episode, fighting and teaming up after we saw Evil Morty's once-forbidden backstory.
Some call it cheap thrills, but I call it a gift to the fandom that's patiently waited for the fakeouts to end. And now that I've said that: "Fear No Mort" was one giant fakeout.
But was it, though?
Tumblr media
This is the most unpopular opinion in the world, but I'm not invested in Rick and Diane's relationship. As a gay woman, I just don't connect with opposite-gender couples. Also, I dislike the trope of the idolized dead wife that the audience only learns about through her widower. She's not her own character, just an extension of the male protagonist.
When the fake Rick and Diane reconnected, I thought "Oh boy, this is getting cheesy." They're falling for each other again: check. Rick feels guilty about her death: check. We see how similar they are: check. Rick doesn't want to leave: aaaand, check.
I'm also a little lost after the ending. Morty was the only one in the hole, so why did we see all these scenes from fake Rick's perspective? Was an NPC really that busy?
How much we learned about Diane is debatable, too, since Morty never met her. I guess his ideas came from whatever Rick's told him and maybe the ship's voice since she's based on Diane.
I did like how the episode kept reminding us that Morty's still in the Fear Hole. I mean, we didn't know that, but we knew that. No "Are they in the Fear Hole or not??" until all the twists in the third act.
Aside from that, I don't want the show to revisit the past too much because Rick needs to let go. If you're a Marvel fan, you saw the backlash to Steve Rogers traveling back in time to spend a lifetime with Peggy in "Endgame." He had a life in the present, but he refused to move on.
Nostalgia makes us yearn for earlier years, but if Rick abandoned his family to live with Diane in another reality, I wouldn't call that a sweet ending. I'd call that a disappointment and a waste of his character.
Turns out, Rick never had that option at all.
Well...in a way, he did. And when Morty told him what he saw in the Fear Hole, Rick ran back to the restroom. He looked into the hole. He thought about it. And then he did what I wanted him to do, which was walk away. In this moment, he chose the present.
Tumblr media
Admittedly, Morty's fear came true: Rick didn't jump in the hole after him, he did just sit there and watch, and he didn't want to say that Morty's irreplaceable out loud. Plus, Rick was bewildered when Morty hugged him. But for the first time, instead of standing stiffly or gently pushing him away, Rick started to hug him back.
We also saw what Morty didn't: Rick smiling to himself after hanging up the picture of Morty that he kept in his wallet. He had the chance to wallow in shadows of the past, but he didn't take it. Rick chose him.
"Fear No Mort" could've ended with Rick just saying "Let's go" and leaving, but it didn't. Seasons one and two Rick would've bitched and moaned about Morty taking so long. Season three Rick would've left him there for a while to torment him. Season four Rick would've found a way to take advantage of this.
But seasons five, six, seven? That's real character development. That's what all the Twitter users saying "Wow, Rick and Morty is actually good" have been missing out on.
And for the first time in the series, a season didn't end with Rick relapsing or getting a (well-deserved) ass kicking. Is Morty going to get the grandfather that he deserves? Or will he move on, too, now that Rick's releasing his iron grip? Speculating is fun, but for now, let's focus on today.

its 530am here give me your favourite headcanons and unpopular opinions im delirious
Ooo I’ll try to think some up, been a busy day so this might not be the best. Can’t let this lie till when I have a better answer, if I don’t know I’ll explode.
Johnny likes staying with Two-bit the best because his family has a sleeper sofa. He does have to use his sisters spare sheets/blankets… and he is a little worked up about using girls sheets but it means a lot to get comfort where he can.
Johnny drinks. Not a lot, usually only two and he takes it slow.
Steve’s nose is crooked from having his nose broken one too many times. It’s not too noticeable unless you look close but there’s a definite slant
Steve and soda simultaneously hold eachother back from doing stupid, high energy shit… it doesn’t work that well and that’s part of the reason soda drags pony along everywhere
Darry’s main hangout is the gym because he feels his masculinity is a bit threatened by doing a bulk of housework and nagging (stereotypical mother behavior) he knows he’s being dramatic about it but feels he needs to prove something.
Dally isn’t very good at sweet talking someone as if it’s not quick his pride quickly gets in the way
Pony’s clothes are 98% hand me downs
Unpopular opinions-
Idk why everyone else thinks Dally is FROM New York but I don’t see it that way. More he was raised in Tulsa, went away for a while and then came back. Either with family or on his own (the implication he moved all over the place or on his own is either from a tweet or purely the musical and idk why — I just-)
I talk a big talk about rodeo stuff but fandom should also lean into the fact the boys are a bunch of rednecks. Like in general but there’s also a lot of interesting class issues underlining the story and idk people seem afraid of the fact they’re poor?
Literally no one in the story is “the bad guy” or “evil” like the entire message is about nuance and everyone’s human and complex but my god will that go over everyone’s head for someone to blame.
I’m a time period stickler when it comes to writing fic/headcanon/meta. Sort of unpopular in that I find the research and stuff fun (I promised to make time period help posts… I’ll get on that sometime) not everyone likes doing this or is as particular and that’s fine. This is more a unpopular thing I do than opinion

Hello! I hope you don't mind but may I request fem or gn dating headcanons (sfw & nsfw) of Hwoarang, Steve Fox, and Forest Law from Tekken please? - 🌱
🌱 anon??? you are speaking my language!! some of my fave tekken characters here and so underrated! hope you enjoy! ❤️
[TEKKEN MASTERLIST]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sfw
Dating Steve Fox is very similar to what it would be like to date a celebrity. He's been in more than his fair share of Iron Fist tournaments, and was well known for being a boxing prodigy well before that.
You get to enjoy all the trappings of dating a famous athlete, all of which is enhanced by the fact that Steve just naturally wants to spoil you rotten.
And if you knew Steve before he became a boxing champion, you know that that's always how he's been; doesn't matter if he had two million dollars or two dollars, he is treating you like a queen.
Plus he's just such a gentleman. You will have people turning heads with the way he treats you.
Steve will literally carry you over a puddle because he doesn't want you to worry about messing up your shoes, or encourage you to talk about things you're passionate about in public so he can show off to other people how amazing you are.
If you want a man that's gonna be obsessed with you and everything you do, Steve is the one you want.
nsfw
Despite how intimidating he might look on the outside to everyone else, Steve is such the ultimate softie. Like the kind to pour his soul out to you while he's hitting it from the back.
It might be an unpopular opinion, but I think Steve is a bit of a sub. And if not a full-blown one, then at the very least he's got to be a switch.
Steve has been on his own for most of his life and hasn't ever gotten the chance to fully relinquish himself to anyone, to let himself release his control and his fear.
Being submissive with you means not being afraid anymore, and he trusts you so much to show such a side of himself.
He also is a NOISY guy... Like all my people that love a man that moans in their ear? Steve does that and then some.
Steve is also the master of begging; good luck holding out for even a fraction of a second against this hunk of a man on his hands and knees, desperate to taste you at any cost.
Tumblr media
sfw
Arrogant, snarky Hwoarang. The bastard is irresistible, really, once you really get to know him. Chances are you'll hate each other before that happens, though.
He loves to annoy you with his constant flirting, always standing just close enough to watch you squirm and blush. And being as tall and broad-shouldered as he is, he figures it's easy to get you flustered.
For my friends that are masters of banter, you're in luck. Hwoarang can take as much as he gives, so go all out. He loves seeing you get fired up, especially if it's directed at him.
When you're dating, Hwoarang just soaks up your attention. When you're talking to him, spending time with him, he simply cannot get enough of it. It's like an addiction.
Expect him to get a bit pouty if he's not the center of your attention for a bit. He won't be toxic about it, of course, but he will give you puppy dog eyes for as long as you can stand it, which he bets will not be long at all.
nsfw
Hwoarang being cocky translates perfectly to the bedroom. The man is a dom through and through and he loves it. But particularly being the caring, loving dom that emphasizes aftercare.
He will fuck you for hours and hours, until you feel like your legs are jelly and your thighs burn, and Hwoarang will have energy to spare. What with his kind of stamina and enthusiasm, he knows you're sure to be tuckered out.
Let this man pull your hair because you will love what he does. It's a gentle but firm tug, one that burns ever so slightly but adds an extra layer of feeling. It will have your eyes rolling into the back of your head.
He also loves giving you the illusion of control. You can ride him and let him eat you out, boss him around even, but Hwoarang knows that he can instantly be the one in charge because he knows your weaknesses so well.
But cleanup, getting water, all the kisses and cuddles, Hwoarang has got it covered. He knows he can be rough, and the least he can do is take care of you with all his heart afterwards.
Tumblr media
sfw
The polar opposite of the initial Hwoarang Experience™️, getting to know Forest Law is literally the most pleasant experience ever.
He is very energetic and friendly, and when he sees you for the first time (and falls head over heels) he doesn't hesitate to come up to you and introduce himself. Please prepare for his attempts at impressing you.
And dating him is just as exciting and wholesome. Like you can imagine the kinds of crazy adventures you two get up to; it's never a dull moment in the Law house.
It's also a must that you know his dad. Forest and Marshall are super close and train together a lot, so chances are you will see his father a ton. But don't worry, as long as you treat his son right then he will be a big fan of you.
Forest is not very rich and thus doesn't have the means to take you on fancy dates. But that doesn't matter much; it's the thought that counts!
His favorite places to take you are on long walks in the city at night to admire the lights and people watch. Then afterwards you can watch him beat up street criminals and get ice cream after.
nsfw
Forest is extremely gentle, perhaps to an extreme. Because he's so ripped and possesses the ability to break nearly any solid object in half, the last thing he wants to do is hurt you.
Now he won't treat you like a glass figurine or anything, but he naturally just wants to not be aggressive or rough. It's kind of just how he is.
This man will fuck you slow and with so much feeling behind every little movement. And being as enormous as he is, he will make sure you can take every inch of his cock comfortably before he starts to move.
Will shower you with pet names and chant your name over and over because you make him feeling incredible. Like this man adores you so much and you are his world! He can't fathom how he got so lucky.
Forest also just loves when you tell him how good he's making you feel. That way he can just make you cum over and over again, which is quite possibly what heaven would look like for him.

STEX APPRECIATION MONTH DAY 16: (POPPA/MOMMA) MCCOY
spent a lot of time deliberating on whether I should draw Momma or Poppa but ended up deciding on Poppa since I feel like he gets less art
Favorite Actor(s):
Poppa: Lon Satton, Steve Fowler, Lothair Eaton
Momma: Reva Rice!!! Jade Marvin also does really well :)
Favorite Song/Scenes: I love all of their scenes with Rusty and the freight sooo much. Also Light At The End Of The Tunnel is such a good and underrated scene with some great vocal moments for McCoy!!
Favorite Costume(s): When it comes to Poppa, I think the Japan/Aus Tour really nailed the shapes and colors!!!! For Momma I like her Bochum costume except I don't like her skirt she wears in act 2. I don't understand their insistence on all the female characters wearing skirts just let her have overalls!!
Favorite Ships/Friendships: McCoy x Memphis Belle goes hard ngl. We could have had old lesbiansss. And of course I love them as a parental figure to Rusty and the freight!!! But I think they would offer advice and affection to anyone who came to them :)
Headcanons: The reason McCoy is still in such good condition despite their age is that they're kept around as one of those touristy steam train tours.
Unpopular Opinion: I like Momma and Poppa equally!!! In my ideal world it would be a genderblind role. On that note I am a #poppadefender4life I've seen people be so mean about him in the past, calling him manipulative etc and I really just think people need to examine why they really feel that way <3

okay so finally my unpopular opinions on the starscream es episode.i liked the starscream episode as you know, because it was nice and important for his abuse to be validated. and it was even more libearting to see a Steve Blum voiced starscream get his justice because of how poorly tfp starscream was abused and it was made into a joke and seen as something he 'deserved'.
but I've been wanting to also just share my critique on it for some time! it's a little critical, so just putting that out there if you don't like earthspark or starscream critique you should skip over this. I've spoken a lot of positive things about the episode so these are just my thoughts. so warning, heavy critique.
my main issues are fandom's treatment of hashtag, and people using the episode to perpetuate the 'perfect victim' mentality on starscream and forget that he's flawed and nuanced.
starting with hashtag, i really don't like how a lot of fans make hashtag "mother" starscream and act almost as if she's supposed to be his caretaker, when she is a minor, who is facing her own trauma. i think she was needed to validate starscream and to make him feel that his own abuse is real and that it isn't his fault for getting abused.
but i also think people took that and decided to a.) make hashtag his mother figure and b.) use it to excuse the way he treated and was borderline abusive to others (i.e him kicking his trine mates when they were on the ground, and since they were female character no one actually cared).
i think hashtag was needed as a completely neutral source to make starscream's own trauma's validated and to show the viewers that his abuse isn't funny, and that just because megatron is 'good' doesn't mean that it's excusable and that starscream has to like him. moreso, it's important to show that children can also call out and understand abuse. that was why hashtag needed to do it. it doesn't matter how much megatron was a part of her family and practically an uncle figure to her, he still abused someone and she still recognized that.
BUT at the same time, i don't like the idea that the fandom props his emotional trauma and responsibility on HER. in a lot of fics, aus, etc, hashtag is usually made to be starscream's caretaker without any sort of care for her or her trauma. and i think people forget hashtag is a child, shit some people ship them (ew) because they like to make her the one to care for him. Hashtag is a child, and is completely innocent and he own trauma should be validated and honestly, discussed as much as starscream's. People don't really see her or let her exist outside of Starscream. Her trauma is at large, ignored by the fandom and if people care about it, it's only to validate what starscream went through, and never to have him actually caring about her. that's why i like to write fics where HE helps her, because she is still a child and he is an adult.
ths isn't talking about fan content where starscream is literally hashtag's father figure, which i enjoy. i like when content portrays hashtag being a kid, and starscream being a parental figure to her, but that tends to be a small majority of hashtag and starscream content.
and this brings me to the perfect victim mentality that is harmful in fandom spaces but i see it's impacting starscream.
the perfect victim mentality is this idea that in order for an abuse victim's abuse to be validated, they have to be perfect and innocent. they can do no wrong and even their own actions need to be pacified or excused because if they are one bit of flawed or problematic, then that ruins their victim status.
this is why tfp wasn't seen as a victim, because he was evil, he was abusive, he was dangerous, and the writers made a choice to perpetrate the thought that all abuse victims MUST be perfect and if they aren't, then they deserve their abuse.
this is what's happening to es starscream, but the opposite way.
starscream isn't responsible at all for the abuse megatron put him through, and no amount of think pieces are going to change that. but hashtag telling starscream that his abuse isn't his fault, isn't an excuse for how he's treated and abused others. he was a fascist, a war criminal, committed multiple genocides, and in various continuities abused others both before and after he met megatron.
again he was even physically kicking his trine mates and that implies that it's a common occurrence and it's happened before. hashtag also pretty much confirmed it. i know BCS skywarp and nova are women you guys don't really care about them, but the way starscream was treating them wasn't okay.
he is still an abuse victim, but that doesn't excuse his treatment of others.
A lot of people tend to use megatron's treatment of starscream to excuse Starscream's abusive action toward others. Meaning there is this idea that because Megatron abused Starscream, then we can't really hold him (starscream) accountable for his actions toward others, and that is false. Yes, Megatron abused starscream but that doesn't give him a slap on the wrist or an excuse for things he did! And if you are trying to excuse Starscream's actions because of how megatron treated him, then you are also saying that we can't hold megatron accountable for how he treated starscream.
because megatron abuses starscream in response to his own trauma and abuse. and even if he does, he still needs to be called out for it. JUST as starscream should be held accountable for his actions.
Starscream still is a villain, he still did terrible awful things that i hope earthspark addresses. He still caused genocide, because he could, he still killed, because he wanted to! again, it was implied that he was abusive to his crew, if hashtag didn't call him out, he would've been abusive to her because he was going to use her as a hostage. earlier i saw someone trying to explain and excuse that starscream wasn't a problematic person because 'the other seekers are following him' but they had no choice. and then this person really tried to act as if him being 'toxic' to them isn't problematic and that's the issue. you can't cherry pick what is and what isn't abusive because it's a character you like, even if that character is a victim.
the perfect victim mentality skews people's perspective on abuse and makes it seem like you have to be innocent to be an abuse victim. and it scares me because a lot of people have tricked themselves into believing that starscream is a good person who doesn't need redemption and hasn't done anything wrong. and I'm terrified because when he actually starts to act like Starscream, fandom is either gonna turn on him or try to excuse his villainous actions.
So that said, those are my main two critiques with the starscream earthspark episode.
hashtag isn't starscream's mother but it seems the majority of the fandom went with it. and ties her worth and her importance to him.
and likewise, starscream is an abusive victim but he isn't perfect, and that's okay. abuse victims don't have to be perfect to have their abuse taken seriously and i don't think that's realized enough in fandom spaces.

Unpopular Phase 4 & 5 Opinions
Quantumania is the worst Phase 4/5 movie. And it wasn’t even because “kang got beat by ants.” (I liked kang in this movie). It’s just that the Spy Kids aesthetic & bad acting & overall weird vibes just weren’t for me.
Love and Thunder is no worse than Ragnarok. I would argue that it’s better in a lot of ways, actually. I really liked it.
Taika Waititi ruined thor with bad humour all the way back in Ragnarok tbh, but y’all weren’t complaining about it then 😒.
BuckySarah is better than sambucky every day of the week.
The Marvels was a good ass movie & they’re one of my favorite teams in the mcu. I’ll never forgive cbm sites & online dudebros for killing the hype from the moment the film was announced.
I adore America Chavez & Kamala Kahn and I want to see them in everything. They must be protected at all costs.
Multiverse of Madness had shitty characterisation & basically just copy-pasted the ‘grief made me go off the deep end & hurt people, then I realised and stopped myself’ storyline from Wandavision… but Wanda was extremely selfish & apathetic to other people’s suffering from the time she was introduced in the mcu. MoM didn’t make her like that.
Wanda should’ve been looking for Vision (her actual real life boyfriend whom she spent years with irl) in MoM instead of the kids that weren’t even real that she spent like a week using as characters in her sitcom.
Making everyone forget Peter Parker wasn’t profound or poetic in any way- it was just frustrating and needlessly cruel.
I’m begging marvel to understand that heroes don’t have to be in constant suffering to be heroic & villains don’t have to sacrifice themselves to achieve redemption. Let characters heal and atone, you absolute weirdos.
What If…? is the most boring show ever. I’d rather watch Secret Invasion or She-Hulk.
Season 2 of Loki is, in a cinematic & artistic sense, the best marvel project period.
Loki season 1 was meh- more of a fun au than anything because his characterisation kinda sucked. Season 2 fixed it, though, and made it way easier for me to incorporate this version of Loki back into the larger mcu.
Having Steve stay in the past with Peggy was stupid af.
I don’t hate Peggy (or Captain Carter), though. I actually think she’s pretty cool.
I don’t really love Steve. He’s arrogant & they never really let him have flaws & something about him being a perfect metaphor for the American military industrial complex (and marvel painting that as a good thing) doesn’t sit right with me.
The Illuminati got done dirty and the only reason they went down so fast was because Wanda had all that plot armor.
I thought the retcon of having Wanda be “destined” to become the Scarlet Witch since birth was an annoying cop-out. Her powers originating from being experimented on with an infinity stone was way more interesting.
Loki & Wanda have almost the exact same powers.
Nebula deserved a bigger rule in killing Thanos & everything else moving forward.
I love Kathryn Newton but her acting as Cassie Lang was the worst acting I’ve ever seen in the mcu, like it was outrageously bad.
I’m glad Sam is the new Captain America and not Bucky.
The fact that Bucky probably isn’t gonna be one of Thee lead characters in the upcoming avengers movies feels sick and twisted.
Secret Invasion was actually passable until the G’iah scene at the end. That ruined it. And Nick Fury deserved way better for his solo series.
Kang is so much more interesting than Doctor Doom. I really hope they just recast him.
Carol Danvers does NOT deserve the hate she gets.
I actually disliked Carol until The Marvels. That movie made me a stan.
The way people treat Monica as Wanda’s little inferior pet creation or smth & then brag about it is uhh very sus.
I don’t like sylvie (bc she’s an amalgamation of 3 different comic characters- which killed any hopes of them appearing individually in the mcu, the creators used her existence to butcher Loki’s genderfluid rep, & she was written poorly) & I HATE sylki (bc it’s weird & unnecessary).
Marvel isn’t dead. I actually love where they’re taking things. But that’s just me.

Possibly unpopular opinion: Nancy Wheeler is a lesbian and Steve Harrington is gay, and they both have just been operating under the social pressure and assumption that they must be straight.
Nancy's comphet will be defeated one day, because there was undertones to her relationship with Barb I swear to god, and as soon as men start getting a bit too serious with her she understandably nopes out and gets spooked. Her behaviour to Robin and her apparent unawareness that she was coming off hostile and then afterwards warms up to Robin, it all just rings my former comphet bell...
Steve will eventually stop and realise he talks about the idea of dating girls and the image of a future that he's "supposed" to make more than actually wanting to date any of them, and sounds like he's just experiencing regular friendship when he thinks it's romantic feelings for Nancy and then Robin. (I did used to be team bi Steve all the way, but the way he acts and talks about it all, it feels just too much like social conditioning than actually liking women; he doesn't seem like he likes them, he just thinks he should.)
Also Jonathan Byers is absolutely bisexual, I said so. Him and Argyle? Okay.
The real queer quartet: Nancy, Jonathan, Steve and Robin.

when you’re writing character x reader fics, which romantic dynamics do you tend to lean towards?? as in, do you have like a preference with tropes lol (this could be for like each individual or all your writing as a whole)
Uhhhh, that’s a good question-
For Darry I really like best friends to lovers? Or like- high school sweethearts. Can’t go wrong with that. It just lends itself so well, ya know?
I don’t have strong opinions for Sodapop, but best friends to lovers tends to swirl in my mind a lot, someone who was there for the whole Sandy thing-
Ponyboy always makes me wanna do opposites attract with a nice little Soc or an academic rivals thing. But then like- he’s a track star ya know? So athlete romance could be fun
Dally always makes me want to write enemies to lovers. They hate each other’s guts but they’re so invested. Also good girl x bad boy style stuff, girl being the optional word there. He just. I know he wants to corrupt the good ones. I know it.
Johnny! Not really friends, he’s got a hopeless crush on someone in his class and is too nervous to do anything. The crush is also pining terribly for him and it’s so silly and awkward
Twoooooooo-Bit is everything to me. Best friends again, mostly cause I wanna be with his family dude. His mom, his sister. I wanna be in his life. But also- popular vs unpopular. I can see him head over heels for someone who’s popular crowd material-
Steve, high school sweethearts and longtime friends. Again. I want to be in his life. I could totally see him going opposites attract, stumbling upon someone totally different when he’s working a DX shift.
Curly. Best friends to lovers or forbidden lovers. Long time friend, doesn’t realize there’s feelings till they start going out with someone else. Forbidden lovers, Soc and greaser, rival gangs, take your pick pals. Can’t mess anything up that way-
Tim Tim Tim Tim makes me wanna say meet cute? But in a really cheesy way that no one believes, himself included. Love at first sight and working through things nice and slow <3
Overall? I like writing male readers (I say that a lot) and I like writing sibling readers. Curtis!Readers mostly, but that’s fun to pair with literally everyone-

I think they need to kill Steve in season 5.
I know it’s an unpopular opinion because the GA loves him, but that’s a reason to do it!
Think about it, what does Steve have going on with his life? He works at a video store in small town Hawkins. He doesn’t have that much going for him.
Without the ud and the kids/robin, he really has nothing
There just doesn’t feel like a satisfying end to a character arc there 🤷
It just doesn’t make sense for him to live. He’s done his growth, and he can protect and attack against the Ud but not much else.
I think his death would be the best end to his arc, sacrificing himself to save those he loves so they can make their way into the world and do great things.
I could probably get into this more but I don’t feel like it rn

MY stranger things unpopular opinions <3
ok nobody asked but these r my stranger things unpopular opinions, inspired by a tweet where people just shared super common and well accepted opinions instead of actual controversy lol
also half of these r gonna be ronance centered because they’re literally all i think about
- first and foremost, nancy is a lesbian. i think so many of her actions and struggles can absolutely be traced back to comphet and repression and i feel like people want to cling onto her romance with steve and jonathan as a way to justify her fondness for them, when i think she can just care about them because they’re her friends and they’re trauma bonded(tm)
- while i like steve and robin being besties as much as everyone else i feel like people overestimate how close they really are in canon. of course they’re best friends but they really aren’t overly dependent on each other like people interpret them to be. they’re best friends but they also function really well on their own.
- though there’s no denying that will has feelings for mike i sincerely doubt that those romantic feelings are reciprocated and i think people are way too confident that byler is gonna be canon
- elmax is miles better than almost every canon AND fanon relationship in the show (i’d argue jopper and lumax (and biased opinion ronance) are the only genuine contenders)
- while i make a habit of being overly critical of men i think people forget that the “grumpy dad” trope with hopper that they like so much comes with him being a total dick sometimes lol
- both jonathan AND steve were weird as fuck in season 1. y’all r having a mid-off when u argue jancy vs. stancy
- and by mid-off i mean stancy wasn’t as bad as y’all act like it was and jancy is not as good as y’all act like it is
- y’all infantilize the FUCK out of robin buckley and im SICK OF IT!! she’s incredibly smart and strong and u people act like she’s stupid/a pushover/a nervous little baby
- in general i think the ronance fandom likes to apply tropes to nancy and robin in a way that isn’t accurate to their characters. its a very common and predictable pattern and i think thats why a lot of fan works feel out of character (an example to this is people applying grumpy x sunshine to nancy and robin respectively and it just doesn’t fit)
- karen is not a good mother. i think everyone can agree karen is weird as fuck for the billy thing, but i see a lot of people argue for karen that she’s really grown as a mother but i’m not seeing it. i don’t doubt that she loves her kids but there’s a reason mike and nancy are Like That
- y’all made up a ton of steve’s personality traits. i’m all good with interpreting his character a certain way but if the reason you hate nancy wheeler is because she unknowingly poked at insecurity of steve’s that u made up i have 0 respect for ur opinions lol
- and on that note steve is pretty badly written. i don’t think his path to “redemption” was bad but he’s so far from anything special that the love he gets from the fandom astounds me
- luckily this opinion isnt as unpopular anymore but steddie was figment of fandom imagination and the fact that it rotted y’all’s brains so bad to the point where you convinced yourself eddie munson was actually really important is just so...
- if you make fruity four content without nancy because you don’t think she’s interesting enough you’re a loser
- byclair is literally SOOOO much better than byler the fact that y’all aren’t going to war for them is upsetting
- this better not be an unpopular opinion but ive been seeing more of it recently: if you think joyce byers is a bad mother block me rn
- any hate that eleven, max, and nancy get is almost ALWAYS rooted in misogyny
ok thats it i probably have more but i cant think of any </3

Favorite headcannos about Jim and Claire
Jlaire, my beloved.
Some of my headcanons:
Claire is clearly more proactive when it comes to showing affection physically and putting it in words. Jim is more reserved - not because he loves her less, but because he has a different love language;
initially, Jim idolized Claire - and it's the main reason why he couldn't talk to her. Once he learned she was also just a normal girl with her own flaws and insecurities, the problem disappeared. And I like to think that it was what transformed a crush into true love;
Claire actually dislikes guys trying to pick her up with some dumb lines - she has experienced too many of those. That's why Jim's confession in Unbecoming failed;
Claire went with Steve to the concert not because she found Steve nice, or enjoyed his company, or something, but because it was her fave group. She'd go there with anyone - even with a literal goblin;
Jim giving everything to save Enrique meant a lot to Claire. It impressed her even more than if he went to the same extent to save her;
probably, an unpopular opinion, but I believe that if Claire hadn't tried to find the truth herself, Jim would have never told her about the supernatural. I feel there were high chances for them to end dating anyway, but with Jim keeping trolls secret just to protect Claire's peaceful world. Claire would learn it in any case eventually;
I like to headcanon that Jim came to like some things Claire enjoys, like theatre and Papa Skull;
on the other hand, Claire learned cooking from Jim - I feel that initially, she couldn't cook (not to the level of Barbara of course);
the point I absolutely adore is that both Jim and Claire entered each other souls and managed to free each other from a mind-controlled state. I feel that they had touched each other's souls, creating an unbreakable bond. By unbreakable, I mean unbreakable - it survived the time travel (and I'll die on this hill);
Barbara obviously likes Claire, but I feel that both Ophelia and Javier came to like Jim eventually too, despite their initial not-that-good impression;
I also strongly believe that Claire's worries for Jim played a huge role in the development of her shadow magic during Wizards. Like come on, her lover was seemingly dying - and she couldn't do a thing. If despair isn't a negative emotion, IDK what counts;
I also feel that Claire would stay with Jim, no matter what form he took. Yes, it includes even if he stayed full troll. Though, I bet Jim would most likely attempt to convince her to give up on him. It wouldn't work;
despite liking Romeo and Juliet, Claire is someone who'd rather fight and survive for her love, even though she's willing to sacrifice herself if there's no other way;
a bonus dumb headcanon is that Jim was constantly questioning if he was worth Claire's love. In his head, Claire's type looked suspiciously like Douxie, so he genuinely freaked out after seeing Douxie in close vicinity. It was an absolutely delusional view as Claire would gladly befriend someone like Douxie, but that wasn't her type.

shameless unpopular opinions:
(i post these a lot but now here’s a ton of them together because as you can tell, i am very opinionated lol)
season 10/11 have a lot of gallavich in them, and they’re so fucking amazing in those seasons, but 10/11 are definitely not the best gallavich seasons because they’re a bit more boring (not very boring but kind of), the best gallavich seasons were 3, 4, 5, and 7.
fiona’s worst season was season 7, and that one scene at the table where she asked everyone to put her at the bottom of their emergency contact lists/told them that the squirrel fund was returning wasn’t “iconic” it sucked and was literally her neglecting carl and debbie. her best season’s were season’s 1 and 2 (i like her in every season those were just the best).
season 6 carl/white boy carl was awful. he was sometimes funny, yeah, but carl was the best in literally every other season but that, especially in 1, 3, 4, 7, and 11.
i get that he was closeted and had to hide his feelings away, but mickey treated ian like shit in seasons 1-3. but in 4-11 he (mostly) treated him amazingly.
lip is so much worse than debbie.
sheila shouldn’t have dated jody and she shouldn’t have taken hymie.
ian and debbie were the only one’s that monica loved, but really only ian.
frank did more damage to monica than she did to him.
kev and v weren’t ready for kids.
i wish that sierra and lip had ended up together, but tami was the only girlfriend of lip’s who didn’t let lip walk all over her. regardless, i think she was a rebound who he stayed with just because of her pregnancy.
they should’ve killed svetlana and jimmy-steve off instead of giving them stupid endings.
thinking realistically, yev is probably not mickey’s kid. but thinking with shameless logic, he probably is.
debbie isn’t the best character necessarily, but she is one of the top 5 (or maybe 3) best written shameless characters and people don’t awknolege her enough.
every. single. character. deserved better. even your least favorite characters, like sammi or karen or debbie.
chuckie deserves literally no hate. the thing people hate most about him is his mother, but that’s unfair because literally every shameless character i can think of off the top of my head has mommy issues.
sandy was in the wrong in the break up with her and debbie.
debbie should’ve gotten some help during/after her pregnancy. yes, actions have consequences, blah blah blah, but she was still just a kid.
lip fucking sucked in season 11 and i just wanted to give debbie a big hug the entire time. idc about what she did, fuck lip for trying to sell/pretty much destroying, a house that he had no rights to whatsoever.
liam was treated like absolute dog shit.
no way in hell are fiona and lip straight. they’re both bi in my mind.

About the Minecraft Movie . . .
I have . . . A lot of thoughts about the upcoming Minecraft movie. Including, but not limited to:
They whitewashed Steve
How are Piglins even coming to the Overworld and not zombifying?
Why are Piglins coming to the Overworld in the first place?
They're trying to make it look like Minecraft, but it doesn't.
Why did they have to use real people? Couldn't they just have animated it?
Also the animation is just flat out bad.
It seems just like one big cash grab
But I didn't make this post just to complain about the Minecraft Movie's many problems. I made it because I feel like this is one of the worst things that's happened to Minecraft.
I know that sounds a bit dramatic, but hear me out. I know that Mojang has already been pretty unpopular as of late among the Minecraft community as of late, but to me, this feels like kind of the last straw. For the reasons stated above, and more, I think this movie is an abomination that should never be released. It's clear that Mojang is putting no care or effort into making quality Minecraft things anymore --- the glaring errors, terrible animation, and cash-grabbyness of the whole thing says as much.
And I'd like to say that this marks the official start of what I'm going to be referring to as "Zombie Minecraft". For context, this title is coming from how fans of The Simpsons refer to the more modern seasons of the show as "Zombie Simpsons" --- because it looks so similar, but you can clearly see that it's not quite itself. And I think that really sums up my feelings on Minecraft now. And I know I haven't been in the Minecraft community for super long compared to so-called veteran players, but I can see how much has changed since I started playing, and I've watched more than enough YouTube videos about old Minecraft to to get a decent impression of how things were back then. And to me, it feels like this really marks the turning point into what's basically an undead version of this game.
Now I would like to clarify something. I'm not making this post just to complain, and in fact, despite all of this, Minecraft is, in fact, still my favorite game of all time. As a matter of fact, I sold still play it on the daily! The game was built on such solid foundations that I don't think the game itself will never truly be bad. This is coming from a place of love for the game, and anger at Mojang for just not caring for anything other than money anymore.
I know this is a bit of a long-winded post, but I had a lot to say. And these still just my opinions; I'm definitely willing to listen to your takes as well. I just wanted to express my thoughts on the matter.
