Flirting With Others (Obey Me!)
━━━━━━━━━━ ✦ ━━━━━━━━━━
You and your favorite demon have a "will-they won't-they" thing going on and you got tired of it. You and another demon student flirt around. Your favorite demon sees this. How does he react?
»Characters: Demon Bros, Diavolo, Barbatos
»Tags: ⚠️ (for themes) *Self indulgent tbh, Possessive, Jealousy, Yandere for some, Toxic, GN Reader, Diavolo my beloved, swooning over beel
»Note: How did I forget this in my notes!? AAAAAAA♡♡♡
Tumblr media
Lucifer:
He was on the way to his student office when he saw you two
Why are you smiling at them like that?
His eyes widened when he saw the other demon lightly touch your shoulder
He's not irritated, nope not at all
He takes it out on everyone for the rest of the day
Barely speaks to you for days
Why would you have eyes for someone else when he's more than available?
Saw you with that lowly demon again in the hallway and he just wasn't having it anymore
He called you to him
"We are going on a date tonight at 7. Be ready. Don't make me wait."
You seemed confused but very excited
He was too and just smirked at the angry demon behind you
Tumblr media
Mammon:
Was waiting outside for you to go home together and he saw you from the distance with the demon
What's the human doing blushing like that?
Not one to ignore situations like that
Gets closer to investigate
Did...did that demon just touch their arm?
Seriously, why are you acting all happy and giggly with them?
He can't bare to watch...it....it kind of hurts
Before he knows it he's getting in between you two
"What? You wanna be food or somethin'? C'mon." He growls and drags you away angrily
The other demon tried to protest but Mammon slid into demon form in an instant so they backed off
He held your hand all the way home but he was silent until you got to the door
"Don't ever do that again...ya hear me? You're definitely mine, got it?"
Tumblr media
Levi:
Couldn't wait to show you his new video of funny anime clips he made
He made sure to include some of your favorites, he knew you'd love it!
He went looking for you around lunch
Who is that demon...why are they so close to you?
They're getting too cozy...
He saw the demon wrap their arm around your waist while you laughed
TOO COZY
Before he knew it he slipped into his demon form and went yelling at the two of you
He grabbed you and dragged you away yelling about normies and his time
The other demon barely had time to say anything since Levi shot them a death glare
He kept mumbling angrily and finally stopped when you two were away from everyone
"You can't do things like that! I won't allow it! You're my player two, okay!? And...and tonight is date night!"
Tumblr media
Satan:
Went to go meet you at the library
Noticed you were talking to a demon he was seeing around more often
Decided to spy just a little...was curious is all
Went from chill to "chill 🙂" when he saw the other demon kiss your hand
He rushed over and cleared his throat and offered a not so friendly hello
The demon didn't leave...great
When you went to the restroom Satan threatened them
"If you know what's good for you, I suggest you stay away."
Don't catch his paws
The demon had heard stories about Satan's wrath so they complied
He explained to you the other demon had things to do
"Hey while I have you here...would you like to go on a date this weekend?"
Tumblr media
Asmo:
Was on his way to class but got nosy when he saw you were with someone that wasn't his brothers
He stayed back to check if you were safe
A small flame erupted when he saw the other demon lightly brush your hair with their finger
Ha! As if he could ever be jealous of someone like them!
But they were getting all your attention...
Sauntered over and introduced himself
He suggested the other demon leave since they would never be good enough for you
You seemed embarrassed but also delighted by the turn of events
"Sorry it took long...will you go on a date with me♡?"
He can't have anyone scoop up what's his 💅
Tumblr media
Beel:
Went to look for you after school
Saw you with another demon in an empty  classroom
Saw the demon take both your hands
You were blushing and they were giving you a flirty smile
Before Beel knew it he was in front of you both and took the other demons hands off you, who protested
Beel bared his fangs and they backed off
"Lets go." Beel pulled you away angrily and carried you home
Why did he do that?
Was nervous/upset when he thought about you meeting with that demon so he was clingy for a few days
He froze when he saw the demon hanging around you again
pout
He put two and two together and realized he was jealous
He asked you out in front of the other demon and admitted he didn't want to see you with anyone else
Tumblr media
Belphie:
Thought he was having a nightmare when he saw you and another demon flirting in class
What do you mean this isn't a dream
Belphie.exe has stopped working
Murder.
Murder on his mind.
You will be his. You are his.
He silently made his way towards you both and faced the other demon
punch
"Dont think you can get in my way." He warned the unconscious body
You seemed upset yet moved by his action
He grabbed your hand tightly and muttered about annoyances
"You're mine, no question. Everyone will know this now."
Tumblr media
Diavolo:
He eagerly seeked you out after classes ended and came upon a crushing sight
You were laughing in the arms of another demon in the empty hallway
He must behave professionally
He must behave
He must-
"Who's this nuisance my little lamb? 🙂"
Oh shit was he in demon form too?
Why do you make him so weak?
He was pleased to see the other demon cower and excuse themselves quickly
The black aura probably helped warn them of the danger too
He apologized for his appearance but remained truthful with you
"Forgive me, I should've said this long ago. You are mine, let me be clear about that now."
He carried you home and from then on, everyone knew you two were officially dating
Tumblr media
Barbatos:
Was on his way to Diavolo's office when he saw you and a demon skipping class and looking friendly...
Surely not you? No, not at all-
Not a fan of this new development but chose to ignore it, he had bigger things to focus on after all
Tried to continue to Diavolo's office unnoticed
It wasn't until he saw the demon wrapping their arm around you that he really snapped and walked over
"Ahem. Excuse me to interrupt..."
Pulled you away to the nearest empty classroom
Pushed you against the wall, his gloved hand held your face gently
"I apologize for not making my intentions clear before. We are together, starting now. I did not like what I witnessed and know that won't happen again."

Newt wasn’t surprised when all his creatures fell for you. It honestly made him even happier when he’d see how some of them got so excited to see you and would miss you when you weren’t around. But one thing he didn’t expect was the nifflers loving you as much as they did. When it was just the one, he was shocked to see Teddy make a bee line for you. The little thing crawled up your leg and held onto your neck. Newt reached forward to get her off, fearing she might take your necklace but upon closer inspection she was just cuddling close. She was rubbing into your neck and licking your hair, almost like she was trying to groom you.
You let out a giggled when she accidently licked your ear. “What’s wrong love? You want cuddles?” You asked, moving your hands to hold her closer to you. You held me like a newborn baby pressed into your shoulder. And you rocked her too, singing softly as Newt stared at you with admiration. God did he love you. Seeing how you handled Teddy made him fall in love with you even more and a small part of him began to wonder what you look like holding a real baby. His baby. A blush crept up his neck at the thoughts running through his mind.
Teddy almost seemed to be your familiar. [A/N: animals (some say animal-shaped. spirits) that serve a witch in various ways, whether as servants, messengers or even spies] She came with you where ever you went, just like how picket was with Newt. She’d sit on your shoulder, hide in your coat, or chill in a small bag you began to carry around just for her. Once she had her babies though, she stopped doing this. She mostly stayed at home but would still cuddle and nuzzle you whenever you stepped foot into your shared home with Newt.

“Hello Teddy, are you doing alright?” You asked. She was panting and whining in pain. She was in labor and the most you could do to help was sit with her and speak to her. You brought your hand to rest under her head, rubbing your thumb against her face causing her to lean closer to you. Newt was with you as well, but he was there mostly to make sure everything was going well and that Teddy, and the babies, were safe. It was a long labor but eventually all 3 of her babies came into the world safely, thanks to Newt.
Once she was done, she nibbled at your hand, pulling your closer to her babies. You felt hesitant, seeing how tiny they were and worried you might accidently hurt them but Newt reassure you. You hand covered them completely, like a blanket. You wondered if they would like you as much as Teddy does, maybe they’d be different and go back to their normal way of just wanted anything shiny. You were so wrong.

Newt came back home, having been denied permission to travel once again. It was starting to weight on him and made him feel a level of sadness he’d never felt before. But walking into your shared home he tried to hide him feelings. Beginning to look for you so he could have some sort of physical contact.
“Y/n?” You didn’t reply
Newt’s first place to check was always the basement. It was the biggest so it just made sense but after a good look around he couldn’t find you. When he made his way back to the stairs, throwing a quick glance to where the Nifflers were held, he froze. They weren’t there and you weren’t there. Had they gotten out? Were you looking for them? He rushed back up stairs checking every room again.
Finally, all he had left to do was check the bedroom.
He walked over, gently turning the knob and peaking inside. The sight before him eased him immediately and brought the biggest smile to his face. He leaned against the door frame and watched you closely.
You had all 4 of the Nifflers on the bed. Your body curled into itself on your side while Teddy laid near your face and her head resting on your neck. Then the babies. They were all over, one laying inside your shirt nuzzling into your chest, another close to your stomach, your arm draping over it and hold it closer to you. And the last one had made a nest in your hair. It was by far the cutest thing Newt had ever seen. He wished you could stay like this forever, looking so peaceful and beautiful.
With a quiet sigh he walked further into the room and closed the door behind himself. He was trying to be as quiet as possible as to not wake you. He slipped on his shoes, undid his tie and gently folded his coat. He reached into the closet and grabbed a thin blanket. It had been pretty hot recently, so he didn’t want to make you overheat but even then he still worried slight about you being even the tiniest bit cold. Then, after laying the blanket on top of you and creatures he crawled in behind you. Slowly spooning you.
Even in your sleeping state you moaned and melted under his touch. His arm trying to gently rest under your neck and the other wrapping around your torso.
“Newt...” You mumbled in your sleep, moving a free hand to interlock with his. He chuckled, holding you. Every worry and fear washed away as you laid together. For a moment he felt like nothing else mattered and that later, once you had woken up, he’d open up to you about how he was feelings. And you’d be there to support him. Every step of the way.

Blood splattered on the ground as Usopp dragged himself to all fours, his wrecked body stiff, yet shaking.
“I’m sorry, Sanji,” he coughed, more blood spreading around him. “I tried, but I couldn’t…”
A silent sob left your throat as Nami struggled to guide your pathetic, limp body. Your limbs were dead after clinging for your life for so long, and you hated that you couldn’t help Usopp off the ground.
“You’re alive, that’s what matters,” Sanji declared, his voice rough with emotion. Water dripped from his blonde hair as his eyes flicked to you for a moment, before comforting your friend. “Everyone has things that they can do and things that they can’t.”
The lump in your throat did not help to reduce your frustration at your uselessness.
“Yeah, but,” Usopp mumbled, the wobble in his voice like a punch to the gut.
“Look outside,” Sanji commanded, Pointing through the gaping hole in the stone wall. The sight of those massive gates fell like a weight on your heart. A weight that stole your breath as it started to open, the huge metal slabs moving slowly, but not slowly enough.
“Robin,” Nami whispered, saying the name that you couldn’t with your dry throat.
“If those gates open up, and Robin goes through them,” Sanji warned, “we won’t have any way to follow her. She’ll cross waters infested with sea kings, then there’s the undersea prison, or the navy headquarters. Everywhere on the other side of those gates is beyond our reach. We’ll lose her forever.”
Sanji came to you, taking you from Nami’s arms to hold you against him for a moment. Your feet were getting a bit steadier, but his warmth was too much. You wanted to push him away as he kissed your temple, the tenderness shoving you closer to that edge of falling to pieces.
“This is the worst situation, but in every situation, even one as bad as this, there’s always a chance,” he comforted, his eyes on Usopp as he helped you step toward Nami.
She handed you her Clima-Tact, giving up her weapon for you to use as a makeshift cane before she pulled Usopp to his feet. His blood stained her clothes as she supported some of his weight with his bandaged arm around her shoulders.
Sanji leaned in close to the sniper, reaching to touch his shoulder, but let his hand fall before gripping the wounded flesh.
“I'm gonna stay here, and do what you can’t do. We’ll get those keys. You need to do what I can’t do.”
“Huh,” Usopp questioned, head tilting toward the cook.
“Think carefully, read the situation,” Sanji commanded, his rough voice giving you chills as the wolf man stalked ever closer. “As long as we have you there’s still a chance we can save Robin. You hear me, Usopp?”
Your bloodied friend started shaking, his question interrupted by a howl.
You heard the metal slash of blades as Zoro battled the giraffe man, and in an instant the wolf was on Sanji, your lover yelling for you to leave as he blocked the attack.
“Come on, we gotta go,” Nami ordered with a grunt, fighting Usopp’s struggle to call for Sanji.
“Ow, Nami,” he complained as she yanked at him, “I’m still injured.”
“Well, staying here and getting killed will hurt more,” she scolded, their stumbling forms moving past you.
Your boys. Teetering with the Clima-Tact, you couldn’t tear your eyes away from their fights. Battling agents of CP9, devil fruit users.
Blood, and broken stone, and hits that made you cringe.
Robin.
They can win. We need to save her.
Your movements were agonizingly slow, the makeshift cane slipping in your hands. Wiping your blood and dust stained palms on your shirt, you gritted your teeth, following Nami and Usopp out into the center stairway of the tower as fast as you could manage.
The trek down the stairs had barely started when Usopp pulled away from Nami. He was limping, but practically buzzing with a manic gleam in his eyes.
“I get it!”
“Get what,” you called as he started rushing back up the stairs.
“We can save Robin. As long as I’m here we can save her, damnit,” he declared with more true confidence than you’d ever heard from him before. Chills ran along your skin as the wounded sniper turned to face you, issuing a command that you had to follow.
“Let’s go!”
Nami took her weapon back, offering you her shoulder as Usopp’s burst of energy sent him scampering away faster than you could have gone on your own.
“Fuck, I’m slowing you down,” you hissed, fighting for your body to move, your head still reeling from that antler ride you’d like to forget.
“Didn’t you hear Sanji’s speech,” Nami scolded, supporting your sluggish steps. “We’re a crew, Y/N. Helping each other is what we do, stupid.”
Her comforting words pulled a small smile from your lips that was quashed almost immediately as you struggled up the endless stairs. Usopp’s cheerful yells pushed you forward, and your legs were slowly feeling steadier. It seemed your headache was the biggest issue, dizziness staying with you as your limbs relearned how to function.
Stepping into the sun was brutal. The light gray stone of the tower almost glowed beneath your feet, and you pulled away from Nami to cover your eyes from the glare. She wrapped your hand around her weapon again, moving ahead of you to watch Usopp at the edge.
You couldn’t get too close as your new fear of heights started closing your throat, so you stayed back. The bridge cut across the water in the distance, leading toward that now open gate, those massive metal doors like a gate to hell.
A hell that Robin was being dragged toward.
“I see her,” Usopp cried out, prepping his new weapon. With Kabuto held in front of him, and his broken mask still showing rays around his face, Usopp's shadow really did look like some mythical warrior.
Nami took your free hand, inching you closer, but you had to take it back. Holding it above your eyes to cut the glare, you stared at the bridge, desperate to see her.
You saw people. Very small people. Marines in white moving across the bridge.
“Watch this,” Usopp commanded, humming his silly Sniper King song as he lined up his shot.
An urge to stop him tore through you. It was too far away, how could he see her, let alone aim to ensure she wouldn’t be hit?
But he was your friend, even if he wasn’t part of your crew anymore. You trusted him, but still held your breath.
Then you saw her.
Two of those figures weren’t in white. One charged across the stone in a billowing, dark cloak. The other was in gleaming black, being dragged along the ground by the first.
This pathetic fucking man child. This scumbag that already didn’t deserve to open his stupid mouth again.
Spandam was dragging Robin behind him like she was trash. You wanted to rip his mask off, and smash his stupid mouth into the stone until he choked on his teeth.
“Get him,” you growled.
“On it.”
The terror of waiting was replaced with pride and sick pleasure at the sight of that small, cloaked figure being blown away from Robin. You hoped that the smoke erupting around his head was enough to strangle the air from his lungs.
Usopp hit him again, Spandam’s body flying down the steps of the bridge. And the sniper didn’t stop, sending blast after blast as those marines in white scattered, their shouts carrying across the water.
Without meaning to, your voice joined Nami’s, cheering for Usopp as he wreaked havoc on your enemies. The praise seemed to set him on fire, his shots flying faster, laughter on his lips, singing his song while he blew them away.
“Look,” Nami yelled, pointing toward that figure in black.
Robin had broken away from the chaos, and was stumbling as she ran away from that gate. Toward you.
“Usopp!”
You cried out, ice filling your veins while the marines stood in a line as they faced her. It was hard to see clearly, especially with your head still pounding, but you knew what those movements meant.
They were going to shoot her down.
Usopp kept shooting, but there were too many. There was no way he could take them all down in time.
The three of you screamed for her as she fell to her knees.
You couldn’t look. You couldn’t look away. You could only scream her name, and hope that she heard you. That she knew she wasn't alone.
The moment before the shots were fired lasted a century. A century in which you were trapped in stone, forced to watch and wait, helpless again.
Your eyes almost shut when the sound of death exploded from that line of guns. But if they had, you wouldn’t have seen it. The moment that filled you with more forgiveness and gratitude than you’d ever felt before.
Franky.
The man whose family had stolen from your crew, who’d hurt Usopp. The pervy cyborg whose family was now fighting at your side.
This strange man that you barely knew was standing in front of Robin, shielding her from the marines. He held his arms out, and took every single bullet that was meant for your love. For Robin.
“Hey! Sniper King? Needy?”
Zoro’s voice called up from what sounded like not too far down, but you couldn’t stick your head over the ledge to find out.
“We’ve got the rest of the keys. Catch, and send them to Franky,” Sanji commanded as your eyes returned to the bridge. Franky was still standing, still protecting her.
“Can you do that, Sniper King,” Sanji questioned, his voice filled with his belief in your former crewmate.
“Of course! Just throw the–”
“Catch,” Zoro yelled before a tied up bit of cloth came flying in front of Usopp.
Usopp caught it easily, tossing it in his hand.
“There’s more than keys in this.”
Usopp made you even dizzier as he leaned over to question the boys.
“We stole a snail off an agent,” Sanji’s voice carried up “You still have one right?”
“Yes,” you choked out, confirming that it had survived the monster ride with you.
“Fucking shoot it already,” Zoro yelled.
Nami untied the bundle in Usopp’s hand, adding the remaining keys before securing it, nodding at the sniper.
Everyone was silent as he aimed. This shot would mean her freedom.
“Franky! Robin!”
You were shouting in the poor snail’s face, until Franky turned to pick up that tied up cloth.
“Robin!”
“Y/N?”
“Oh gods, Robin,” you sighed through your tears.
Nami took the snail from your shaky fingers as she smoothed her hand along your back.
“All the keys are in the bundle. Franky, please unlock her!”
“Got it, but how did y’all–”
“Thank you, long-nose,” Robin interrupted. There was joy in her voice. Joy.  “That was wonderful.”
“It was the least I could do,” Usopp declared in that silly, pompous voice. If he wasn’t so close to the edge of the building, you would have hugged him. “The true heroes are those who fought to retrieve those keys from the enemy. The Straw Hats will be proud to have you back. Hold your head up high, and meet them with a smile when all of this has ended.”
“Right,” Robin agreed, and even from a distance, you could see when she was freed. She stretched her arms above her head before pulling them down in front of her, and you knew exactly what was coming next.
“Seis Fleur.”
That powerful voice echoed through the transponder snail, just as a cloaked figure made its way to the front of the marines.
“I’ve been waiting a long time to do this,” Robin purred, arms sprouting from his dark clothes as she smacked the shit out of Spandam.
“Fuck yeah,” you cheered, hearing the cacophony of slaps, and the whimpering cries of that sniveling piece of shit.
The remaining marines scattered, rightfully fleeing in terror from her power.
“Alright, let’s move,” Franky ordered with a laugh. “Get your asses over here. I’ll get everything ready for ya. We’re gonna bail.”
“Got it,” Nami agreed, storing the snail while Usopp called down.
“Did you guys hear that? Robin’s free, Franky says–”
“Get down here already, Sniper King,” Sanji yelled.
You were squeezing the sides of your head, trying to relieve some of the pressure. The relief poured through your body, but almost made you feel more off balance.
“Ha, everything went according to my plan,” Usopp hummed as he limped toward the stairs. He stopped abruptly, making Nami grumble as she almost ran into him.
“What’s that,” he wondered, almost under his breath. “I swear I heard something.”
“Come on, we’ve gotta–”
Nami’s demand was cut short, all of you hunching and covering your ears as an explosion went off. It was easy to spot, a huge plume of black smoke rising from the metal fence surrounding the island. A marine ship firing on it’s own base.
“These psychos are really going to destroy their own fucking island, and kill all their own people because some dumbass pushed a button,” you seethed, hearing the boys calling for you.
Nausea rose as you neared that ledge again.
“Things have gotten serious, Needy,” Zoro urged, making you bravely peek down at him on the balcony below while Nami held your hand. “Hurry up, and jump down from there. We need to go now.”
“Jump,” you choked, glad that Usopp cut in to be cowardly for you.
“Is that supposed to be a joke? I don’t have the same kind of freakish superhuman strength that you guys have, alright. And my bravery is not the life risking kind. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a normal super hero not a super super hero–”
“Don’t be babies,” Nami teased. “We’re almost home.”
Nami called down before leaping off the edge.
“I’m fine,” she shouted as you looked over to see Sanji setting her down on her feet. “Come on, it was fu–”
At first you thought your body was fucking with you, all the looking down bringing that terror up. The crushing sound, the slipping of your unsteady feet, until there was nothing. Nothing holding you, nothing touching you, just you hanging onto the Clima-Tact as you spun.
The rough scrape of broken stone flying across your legs tore your eyes open, but you closed them immediately.
All that clinging, all that hell you went through to keep yourself from falling, and now you were falling to your death.
At least you got to hear your boys one last time, your name screamed from their lips.
It wasn’t stone.
The dreaded moment of impact came, along with the deep groan of whoever had caught you.
“Needy, are you–”
“putmedownputmedown.”
The Clima-Tact clattered to the stone of the balcony, and the top of the tower finished crashing to the ground while you fought to crawl away. Zoro’s warm hands were just another sensation too many.
But those hands held your hair back while you tried to throw up, soft voices floating around you as your head fought to split open. You whimpered as nothing came out, just spinning nausea, and your memory failing you as you tried to recall the last time you ate.
“Hey, you’re okay,” he soothed, pulling you against his chest after your empty retches had turned into frantic breaths. “We have to go now, Needy.”
As he pulled you to your feet, Nami was there, rubbing your arm as she checked on you. She offered you her weapon, but Zoro shook his head.
“I’m sorry, Needy, but we need to go faster than you can walk. Do you want me to carry you in my arms, or do you wanna ride on my back?”
Nausea rolled in at the thought, but you bit the inside of your cheek, motioning for his back. You saw Sanji and Usopp having the same debate, Usopp wincing as he moved.
“If you hadn’t torn my bandages–”
“If I hadn’t caught you, we would have had sniper crepes for lunch. Just get on,” Sanji demanded, until the five of you moved on three sets of feet.
Down those endless stairs, the sky burned through the roof that was no longer there. The rhythmic bouncing of Zoro’s body had you clenching your teeth, closing your eyes to fight the spinning.
I’m going to be dizzy for the rest of my life.
If we survive.
You only knew that you had made it to the bottom as the downward falling motion of Zoro’s steps on the stairs shifted to a steady up and down that was still just as bad.
“Please don’t ever pick me up after this, you groaned against Zoro’s shoulder. “I don’t want to be carried anymore. Ever.”
His chuckle was cut short as a familiar voice called out.
“This way, kiddies,” Kokoro ordered, and you opened your eyes just a bit to see her pointing down a dark corridor. Chopper was back in his normal, small form, his mouth hanging open in sleep as she had him strapped to her hip like some living purse.
“This leads to the bridge, come on!”
There was no time to argue or question. Just heavy steps echoing down the stone hallway that seemed to get colder with every step the swordsman took.
“Try to pick up the pace, we’re in a hurry here,” Usopp rushed over Sanji’s shoulder.
“I could probably run faster if you were unconscious,” your cook threatened, and you were shocked to feel a weak smile on your lips.
“How could you talk to your hero that way? Especially when I've been so seriously injured in the line of duty. All six of my ribs are broken!”
“You have more ribs than that,” Zoro huffed, pulling up beside them, “but if you don’t shut up, we’ll break the rest, and make you run. Got it?”
You smiled at Usopp from your carried positions as he kept complaining. Slowly, the feeling of a hammer hitting your brain was starting to lessen.
Not distant enough explosions had you tightening your body around Zoro’s back.
“We’re almost out.”
His whispered comfort almost sunk in.
“What’s that?”
“I hear something weird down the tunnel.”
Usopp and Nami had spoken at once. The group stared down that cold corridor as you kept heading toward freedom.
“We don’t have time to go worrying about weird sounds. We’ve gotta make those government jerks pay,” Kokoro said with a cough, still sounding drunk as if she’d been at the bar while you all fought for your lives.
“Is that–”
“It’s water,” Usopp cried out, cutting Nami off. “Don’t you hear it? We need to run!”
No one stopped. You couldn’t hear anything over the rhythmic slap of feet against stone, and Zoro’s heavy breaths as you rested your head against him.
“We have to turn–”
“We’ve got nowhere else to go,” Sanji huffed, “we need to keep moving no matter–”
“Holy shit,” Nami cursed beside you, her voice breathy as everyone stopped running.
“Hang on, Needy.”
You cracked your eyes open, the horrifying sight matching the sound you could finally hear.
Water.
Zoro slashed at the stone wall, but even his swords couldn’t break through.
“We’re underwater, dumbass,” Sanji spat as the group started running the other way.
Running for your lives.
The stone walls made that rushing sound echo, surrounding you even before the cold death touched your skin.
“I’ve got you,” Zoro promised through gritted teeth while he sprinted ahead.
As he passed your friends, you saw the terror burning through them, sweat dripping from their faces.
Your mind went hazy, just a little outside of your body as yet another chaotic force threatened those you loved.
Zoro flipped around as the sound roared too close, gripping your knees against his waist as he took the brunt of that liquid force.
You wished you had stayed dissociated, stayed out of your freezing body. Zoro’s rapid turn had shaken you enough that you took a deep breath, but it took every scrap of energy in you to keep your mouth closed, to not scream into that watery void.
Slipping, slipping away. The spinning torture through the rapid water had you reaching for your aching head, releasing your hold around his shoulders.
Zoro never let go. His hold started to slip, but he clamped down on your legs until they ached.
At least we’ll die together.
Your tears never had a chance, they just mixed with the wave that would drown you all.
“It’s alright. Just hang in there. I’m not going to let you die.”
A soothing voice washed over you, clear and calm through the flood. All you could do was fight to keep your mouth closed, letting yourself drift to wherever you might end up.
But something pulled at you, interrupting that chaotic drift. Your eyes opened, but the water burned, the world nothing more than a painful blur. Something had snared you, tugging you closer to Zoro, and you could feel another wriggling body against your side.
At least we’re all together.
“I’m swimming as fast as this tail will let me! None of you are gonna die on my watch!”
Kokoro’s voice carried through the water, and you almost cried out, managing to clamp your hands over your lips as the bodies around you seemed to writhe against the shock.
What the fuck?
But it was too long. You couldn’t hold it.
The choking pain tore through your chest, the struggle to stay finally fading.
Just cold.
“Y/N! Y/N!”
Too many hands rolled you onto your side as scorching water tore through your throat.
Your stinging eyes watched the water that left your lungs as it spread across wood, staining the black clothes of the person holding your hair back.
The person whose many hands held your body, whose voice cracked as she repeated your name.
“Robin?”
She let out a cry of relief, pulling your body gently as she held you against her chest.
“Is this real,” you breathed, managing to move your arms to wrap around her.
“It’s real. You saved me.”
You felt the warmth of her cheek against your temple, and if you’d had the energy, you would have wept.
“I didn’t do–”
“You came for me, Y/N. And you saved me,” Robin countered before you could finish your thought. Many arms held you up so that she could look at you, and tears managed to fall from your tired eyes at the sight of her beautiful face. Stunning, even marred with dirt and blood.
“I love you too,” she confessed, a wave of fear filling those eyes before she cried it away, laughing before she kissed your cold lips.
It didn’t matter where you were, or how much danger you were still in. Robin was holding you, kissing you. The two of you laughed and sobbed as voices moved around you, orbiting your perfect world.
“Sweethearts, are you okay?”
Sanji’s rough voice moved closer, and you finally looked around to find yourself on a ship. An empty marine ship, whose deck was covered with your crew, and all the water they’d ripped from their lungs.
Your cook crawled over, seeming hesitant to get too close.
Robin reached out, and you smiled at that sweet look of awe on Sanji’s face as he gazed at her.
“I–”
“I love you, Robin,” Sanji cut her off, racing to touch both of you, a gentle hand on your cheeks.
“I love you too, Sanji,” she said with a laugh, and your heart melted as they shared their own salty kiss.
Cannon fire and shouting were distant as the three of you held each other, laughter and tears like a shield from the danger that remained.
But it wasn’t complete.
A shiver ran up your neck, a warm vibration pulling your eyes away from Robin and Sanji.
Zoro sat with his back against the railing, giving you a small smile as you caught him staring. He shook his head when you held out your hand.
A frown pulled at your smiling lips as he mouthed, ‘it’s okay,’ nodding his head toward your other lovers.
“Please,” you whispered, hoping he could see how much you wanted him too.
How much you needed him.
He coughed, wiping more water from his brow before he crawled across the deck.
You and Robin clung to each other, laughter and tears still spilling from you. Sanji poured out streams of praise and words of love as he hugged you both from behind Robin’s back.
Your swordsman came to you, and his soaked body warmed yours as he wrapped his arms around you. He joined the group embrace without flinching away, pressing a wet kiss against your shoulder.
It was all worth it. You’d go through all of that again, just to have this perfect moment.
All of your lovers holding you close. Safe, if only for the moment.
All of your crew on this stolen ship, ready to escape this hell.
All of your…
Zoro’s body went rigid, leaving you cold again as he leapt to his feet.
His words cut through it all. No more laughter or tears could be freed until his question had an answer.
“Where’s Luffy?”

GhostABO pt6

“Where the hell is my Lieutenant?” The train of rage that is John Price busts through the door into the medical bay earlier than the sun itself.
Jacob steps behind the rage of John Price, a solider following orders. “Lieutenant Riley broke into her room.”
Price kept enough of himself together to not show his surprise. That doesn't sound like Simon. “That Alpha can't be trusted, Sir. He’s an animal-“
The rumble that comes from Price is bone chilling. Jacob has no time to stop himself from crashing into the Captain from behind. “Where is my Lieutenant, Sergeant.”
Jacob found an icy hot rage in John’s eyes as he towered over him. The beta said nothing, but began to lead the way.
Ghost isn't sure how long he's been awake. Long enough to realize two things. He's chained to the hospital bed by a pair of handcuffs, for one. And two, he doesn't have his mask on. The heart monitor he’s connected to beeps wildly as the steps begin to get closer than they have in hours. He tests his restraints once again to no avail. Helpless.
Fuck this
A vicious growl escapes him, his throat nearly feeling shredded by the intensity. The beast within him comes forth, cornered.
“Down, boy.” A responding bark as his captain steps through the door, quickly closing it behind him,  no one else following. Just his captain, “Can you tell me-“ He stops.
Price finally finds his 2nd in command and they muzzled him. How dare they
“Where’s your mask?” he asks instead. Simon's mouth opens to speak but nothing comes out except a choking sob. John’s heart breaks.
“I didn't mean to scare her. I was trying to help, John.” Tears began welling up along his lash line, another layer of humiliation tearing through him. Simon tries to catch his breath. Sobs ripping through him like a cannon. John buries Simon in his chest, allowing him a place to hide again. A rush of emotions come forward. So fast and intensely, it knocks the air from his chest.
“Shh….It’s alright. I'm not mad, Simon. ” another line of tension in his shoulders releases and he feels like he can breathe again. “You gotta tell me everything so I can help you.” Price continued to catalog Ghost’s appearance. A large bruise was beginning to form next to his left eye. “They said they found you in her room?” Price patiently waited for Ghost to lean back and catch his breath before he answered.
He shook his head with conviction, “I would never hurt her, Price. She was having a bad dream and I panicked, didn't think. She was so scared, John. I was just trying to do something” There’s a certain desperation in Simon’s eye that Price sees. It confirms his suspicions.
John lets Simon hide for a little bit longer. “I know, Simon.”

The Heart is Torn And Blood is Spilt

((GUYS I DELETED THE OTHER ONE I POSTED BECAUSE I DECIDED TO FINISH IT ON ONE. XC... Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy it because this is literally a LOT of writing xd || I reached 7.8k word count skdksk... Anyway, enjoy-)
While walking through the cold woods you hear the sound of the wind rustling through the trees. You can see your breath in the air, and you can feel the chill of the winter air. The scenery is breathtaking, and you pause for a moment to take it all in. You can hear the distant chirping of birds, and the crunch of snow under your feet. This place is so cold that you even wonder why it is so cold here. The season of spring has just begun, and it is not even the beginning of winter yet. Welp, welcome to the Plateau of Leng. It's known for its cold climate and mysterious atmosphere. It's a place like no other.
You continued your exploration of the Plateau of Leng, and you can feel the chill in the air. People here have adapted to the cold, and you can see them wearing thick clothing and furs. Even the animals of the Plateau have evolved to survive the cold temperatures. Even heard of the great old ones said to live in the depths of the Plateau of Leng, Ithaqua. They were said to be as old as the Plateau of Leng itself, and they were feared by the locals. But, meh. Ithaqua is nothing but a myth, a bedtime story parents tell their children to scare them into behaving.
As you went deeper into the Plateau of Leng, you started to understand why they were so afraid. The strange creatures, the eerie howls, and the sheer sense of dread that seemed to hang in the air. It was enough to make you think that maybe Ithaqua might not be just a myth after all. You started humming a song about Ithaqua, trying to distract yourself from the fear. “Ithaqua is not real! Ithaqua is just a story they tell! Nothing but a figment of our imagination.” You kept repeating the words to yourself, trying to make yourself feel better. But deep down, you weren't so sure.
Then a sudden gust of wind blew, pushing you back as if something unseen was passing by. You turned, looking for the source of the wind, but there was nothing there. You started to shiver, feeling a chill run down your spine. “.... Calm yourself, Y/n...” You took a few deep breaths, trying to steady your racing heart. You closed your eyes for a moment, and when you opened them again, all was still. You were alone, and the wind had passed. The terrifying trees around you rustled, the birds had all flown away, and the sun had disappeared behind the clouds.
A whistle that sounds like a bird is coming from behind the tall trees. You heard the noise and quickly spun around to find the source of the sound. "... Who's there?" Peering through the dense trees, you saw a silhouette in the distance. Fear gripped your heart as you took a step back, your eyes wide with terror. A chuckle and giggle echoed through the woods, followed by a faint whisper. “Don't fret. I promise I will not hurt you.”
The creature giggled and stepped out from behind the trees, revealing his horrifying appearance. He stares at your eyes with pale blue orbs behind the white mask. His long fingers beckoned you closer, and the faint smell of death hung in the air. “You have nothing to fear from me,” he said softly. You stepped back, fear coursing through your veins. You don't trust him, and your instincts tell you to run.
The creature smiled behind his mask and stepped closer. He giggled, a sinister sound that sent a chill up your spine. You turned and ran, not daring to look back until you were safely away. He watched you, a bemused expression on his face. “Someone help!” You yelled, but there was no one around. You stumbled and fell, your heart pounding as you looked back and saw the creature still watching you. You scrambled to your feet and ran faster.
"... I guess I have to chase you down." He sighed. Then the figure started chasing you. He was laughing like a maniac. His long slender hands pulled your hair tightly, making you fall to the snow-covered ground. You felt the cold snow against your skin as you tried to get away. He continued to laugh, a chilling sound that echoed around you, but he pinned your leg down using the large metallic blades that were bound to his legs. You screamed in terror as you felt the blade piercing your skin. Blood started to pour out of the wound as you tried to break free from his grip. You felt the coldness of the snow and the terror of the situation overwhelm you.
“You shouldn't have come here. These are my woods. I guard this forest.” He growled, pushing the blade deeper. You winced in pain, screaming out. He went closer to your face and snarled, “You should have thought twice before trespassing. You should have known better than to come here.” You looked up at his angry face and managed to squeak out a few words. “My apologies for trespassing into your forest! I was only here to explore the beauty of nature... I am sorry...”
He stopped pushing the blade. He seemed to calm down. He scratched the back of his hood and slowly raised his head, looking into the forest. But while you were pinned down and helpless beneath his blade, you remembered that this creature was the Ithaqua who had taken the lives of so many of the people. This figure was the one who the town feared most. “You are Ithaqua...?” You asked, your voice barely audible. The figure paused for a moment before nodding. “That's what they call me. Ithaqua, Wind-Walker, Death-Walker, I had been called by many names.” He looked down at you.
You weren't sure what to do. The figure seemed powerful and intimidating, and you were filled with fear. "You know... Some of you humans even worship me." He said with a laugh. “Hehehe.... And some of them tried to hunt me down.” You were left speechless, unsure of how to respond. “Hey? You there? Why so silent? Scared to talk to me?” He tilted his head. You were frozen in fear, unable to move or reply. He smiled behind the mask, and the air around him seemed to grow colder. “Come on, I'm not that scary,” he said, in a more sinister tone.
You were still pinned down, and you felt the blood slowly dripping down your leg and the pain increasing. He laughed and leaned in closer, his breath hot on your face. You could feel his presence looming over you, and it felt like your entire body was paralyzed. “You are interesting.” He stood up and pulled the blade from your leg. You winced in pain again as you felt the blade leave your leg.
“Can't get up?” He chuckled and said, “Let me take care of you.” He grabbed your arm and dragged you. Blood spilled on the snowy ground as he pulled you along. You were taken to a pond where the ice was slowly melting. He placed his ice axe on the ground and released your arm, then he sat down on the cold ground. He removed the bandages that are around the metallic stilts. After removing his stilts, he pulled your leg to the pond's edge and submerged it in the cold water.
You felt the cold sensation and immediately your leg was numb. You cried out in pain, but he ignored it and kept your leg in the water. You felt a sharp pain in your leg and then it subsided. He then removed your foot from the water and began to wrap it in bandages that were used on his stilts before. “There... All done! Hehe... You feel better now?” he asked. You nodded, still in shock from the pain. “I will be back; I'm just going to remove the blood from my blade.” He turned and walked away, leaving you to process the pain. You lay there, feeling a dull ache in your leg and trying to make sense of what had just happened.
Meanwhile, Ithaqua removed the blood stain from the large metallic blade from the pond. He had used the pond to cleanse the blade of your blood. Suddenly, something came into his mind, and he stared at the pond. He saw the reflection of a figure in the pond. It was himself, standing with the large metallic blade in his hands. He slowly removed his mask and looked deep into the reflection. His pale face, his pale eyes, and his pale locks flowed in the wind.
You were watching him from the other side of the pond. Looking down at the pond and appearing to be in deep thought, as if he were debating something in his head, you don't understand what he was doing. "I hate him, I hate him, I hate him, I hate him." You could hear him muttering. He was shaking his head as he continued to repeat the words. His jaw was clenching, and his eyes filled with tears. The grip on the blade in his hand was so tight. He raised his arm and hurled the blade into the pond with all his might. The ripples spread across the surface of the pond.
He slumped onto the ground, breathing heavily. His face was pale, and he was trembling. He sat there motionless, watching the ripples slowly fading away. You looked at him, wondering what had just happened. He seemed to be in shock, and you could see fear in his eyes. The hood of Ithaqua came down as his hands gripped his hair tightly. His breathing began to slow, and his trembling stopped. He looked up at you, his eyes wide with terror. “What are you looking at?” he whispered. When you saw the creature's face for the first time, he wasn't even a beast after all. You could see his humanity in his eyes, and you knew he was no monster. He was just broken, a victim of circumstance.
Even though he hurt your leg, you couldn't help but feel pity for him. “... Is there something wrong...?” You asked with your voice slightly trembling from the cold. In the middle of a pond on the other side of the lake, while you two sat there staring at each other in silence. As the cold winter forest surrounded the two of you, the tall trees swayed in the wind. You could feel the chill of the air. The only sound you could hear was the rustling of the leaves.
He slowly opened his mouth and said, “It's nothing.” He looked away, and you could see a hint of sadness in his eyes. “Is there something bothering you?” You asked. He shook his head, refusing to meet your gaze. “Nothing is bothering me.” He glared at you. You sighed and looked away. You knew he was lying, but you didn't want to push him. You decided to give him some space and not press the issue.
“....” He slowly put his mask back on. He stood up and began to walk towards you. He stopped in front of you and looked you in the eyes. Then he grabbed his ice axe which was beside you. You looked at him nervously, not knowing what to expect. The wound on your leg, which was wrapped in a bandage. He carefully examined it before looking back at you again. “You are really interesting...” He put his ice axe on his shoulder and then leaned in closer. “You look pitiful...” He whispered and smiled behind the mask. “Feeling so pity for me...”
He giggled. “You do not have to feel pity for me.” He gently brushed his fingers against the bandage. “In fact,” he said, “you are the one who needs pity.” He stood up and said, “You are hurt and helpless... Cannot stand very well." He chuckled and laughed as he was mocking you. You looked away, embarrassed, but he didn't seem to notice. He continued, “Hehe... You can't do much, can you?” He smiled, amused by your discomfort. “You know what? I'll just keep you here with me, that way I won't have to fret about you running away again.” You felt a chill run down your spine as his words hit you.
“Keep me?” You asked, feeling a wave of panic wash over you. He chuckled, the sound sending shivers down your spine. A sinister glint lit his eyes behind the mask as he replied, “Yes, keep you as mine.” He moved closer to you, his breathing heavy as he towered over you. “You will stay with me forever.” He said, his voice a low growl. You shook your head, trying to move away from him but he was too close. You felt your heart pounding in your chest and fear taking over as you realized that you were trapped. He reached out his hand and grabbed your arm while his other arm carried the two large blades, a cruel smirk behind the white mask.
“I am going to keep you as my company.” He started dragging you again. “No, no, no!” You started struggling, trying to break free from his grasp, but his grip was too strong. You screamed for help, but no one was there to hear you. And of course, you are in the middle of the forest. He started to laugh, a menacing laugh. You felt your heart racing as he dragged you away, not knowing what was in store for you. You were terrified. "I guess I just found myself a little friend, aren't we?” He glanced at you while dragging you deeper into the woods.
He stopped in front of a broken-down cabin, opened the door and pushed you in. You stumbled and fell onto the ground.
“Stay here, and I will be back.” Before he shut the door you suddenly spoke.
“W..Where are you going...?”
“That's none of your concern.”
He slammed the door shut and you heard him laughing as he walked away. You lay there, shaking, as you heard him walking further away.
As Ithaqua locked you up in a broken-down cabin, you never found a way out of this place. Instead, you crawl on top of a mattress infested with bugs. You lay there in the dark, unable to move, feeling the bugs crawling on your skin. The wind outside howls like a ghost, and you start to hear scratching and gnawing from below. You sleep fitfully, not knowing what horrors this day will bring.
A few hours later, a sudden thud came outside. The door creaks open, and someone enters the room. You woke up and heard the voice of a male that took you, “Fret not. It's just me, Ithaqua.” He said his voice like a distant whisper. A blood stain covered his outfit and blood dripped down the chin of the mask he was wearing. A gory intestine hung from the sharp blade of his long weapon. A scream escaped your lips as you shrieked in fear. “DON'T KILL ME!” You trembled in fear, unable to move. Ithaqua chuckled. “My word, you really fear the sight of blood, do you not?” He moved forward, dragging the severed arm and intestines through the broken-down door, leaving pieces and blood behind on the floor. The sharp, metallic smell reached your nostrils. He held the arm and intestines in front of your eyes, forcing you to stare at them. “Does this bother you?” You couldn't take your eyes away, shaking with fear as tears streamed down your face.
You could feel yourself going into shock as Ithaqua continued to laugh at your terror. “W-What is this...? Who are these people you've killed...?” You asked. Ithaqua tilted his head, still smiling. But his eyes were hidden behind his featureless mask. In fact, there was something unsettling in his entire demeanor, perhaps because of the brutality of the situation. “I don't normally kill people at all,” he replied in a flat tone of voice. “These must've been foolish travelers who entered my barbaric forest without permission.” He gestured around him, his gloved hand gesturing towards the torn-up inside of the cabin.
Blood was dripping down from the ceiling above. You looked up at the ceiling in horror. Your mind feels like it's spinning, trying to comprehend what exactly happened here. These corpses must have been his victims and were hidden in this cabin. No wonder it stinks here. You shivered at the thought and looked back at him. “So... These people... you killed-” Suddenly your words stopped when he spoke so suddenly “They must've been foolish enough to enter my forest without permission.” His expression became serious, his tone shifting to one of deadly seriousness. “I must have no witnesses to my presence. No one can be allowed to leave here alive. These people have already gotten too close.” He stepped closer, kneeling down so his eyes were level with yours.
“But you... you were unlucky, but not foolish. What is your name?” You paused, looking into his icy-blue irises pupils. Then you spoke. “My name is... Y/n” you said hesitantly. Ithaqua kept looking into your eyes, studying your expression. Then, he reached your hand, moving your hair out of your face and tucking it behind your ear. His finger lightly brushed your jawline. “A unique name. But your name is not necessary for now. From now on, you are my captive, and I will be your keeper.” His voice was quiet and calm, but it made your skin crawl.
You were too scared to move, so you just stayed rooted to the spot, your breath coming in shallow gasps. You felt a chill go down your spine when he touched you, and you closed your eyes, trying to suppress the fear. Ithaqua smiled. The mask he wore, painted with two, cold, unblinking, almond-shaped eyes, almost looked friendly when he did this. You felt a sudden wave of calm wash over you. “Don't fear me. I would not hurt you.” His breath brushed your hairline. You opened your eyes, meeting Ithaqua's gaze. You weren't even so sure if you should trust him. He's creepy yet something's wrong with him.
You spoke softly, “What are you going to do to me?” Ithaqua laughed. The sound was harsh and loud, like the wind howling outside. “How could you even ask such a thing? I will keep you. As my captive. No one will ever touch you, let alone see you. You will be mine and mine alone.” He got closer. The stench of blood was faint on his clothes. He wrapped a hand around your chin, cradling it. “You look... quite pretty, I must say.” He chuckled again. His grip tightened your chin, as the nails of his gloves digging into your skin. You muffled a cry of pain, not wanting to make a sound.
You felt your heart racing, fear coursing through your veins. Ithaqua chuckled again, his hand squeezing your chin as the nails pierced your skin. You felt pain, but no blood could be seen on his gloves. It was as if he were trying to hurt you yet doing no damage at all. “Such a frail little thing, you are. Just looking at you brings forth an urge to destroy you, in order to watch you crumble.” His tone was serious. You felt his fingers tighten further. “But... you are far too precious to be destroyed. At least, not yet.” He released your chin, and the pain subsided.
You put your hand to your chin, feeling the pain he had caused. Breathlessly, looked up into his eyes, feeling the intensity of his gaze. The tears in your eyes were cold on your hot cheeks. Ithaqua laughed, his harsh, cold voice echoing through the small room. You were still unable to move, and he came even closer, his gloved hand caressing the side of your face. “Such a sweet little cry you made,” he whispered. “And such beautiful eyes, Y/n.” He let his fingers trace the pattern of your tear tracks. His touch sent shivers down your spine. You wanted to pull away, but you were held in place by his gaze.
Suddenly, something changed Ithaqua's mind, and he pulled away from you. The way you cried out for help had an effect on him and he stepped away. He had a moment of hesitation, as if he remembered something in his past. His mother's face flashed in his mind, and he knew he had to let go. Ithaqua seemed deep in thought. His hand slowly retreated, leaving you alone and free to move again.
His eyes flickered with memories of his past. A sense of loss was evident in his expression. He was holding onto a memory. Of a moment when he felt love for the very first time. His mother's eyes were filled with worry and sadness. You saw him for the first time. Not the monster. But something else. Human. Your body shook with fear, but you could not look away. There was something about him that you didn't understand. Why was he silent all of a sudden? You wanted to ask him what was wrong, but you couldn't find the words. You just sat there on the mattress, looking at his pale blue pupils. Ithaqua, for the first time, felt his facade crack.
The mask he hid his real face behind was faltering. He felt something at that moment that he hadn't felt in countless centuries. A sense of compassion. A sense of love. And it scared him. Of course, he has felt love in the past. The kind of love only a mother can feel for a child. "I-" He cleared his throat. "I believe I've made a mistake. You are not one of the fools." He walked towards the doorway, turning his back on you. But what does he mean that “You are not one of the fools”? What was he talking about? “Huh?” It is the only word you managed to say. “You are precious to me. You remind me of her...” He opened the door, letting the cold wind enter and sweep through the cabin. But instead of leaving you, he walked towards you. His expression was filled with emotions, hard to decipher. Your eyes widened in surprise. Who is her? You thought about asking but you were too afraid. You were confused and scared, yet you felt a strange warmth in your chest. Ithaqua slowly crouched, putting a finger on your face.
You felt the rough leather of his glove. You felt his touch on your skin. The sense of warmth only increased. He looked at you, seemingly studying your every curve and detail. At that moment, you felt loved. “You remind me... of my mother.” He spoke softly. His tone was quiet and gentle. “Your innocence was just like hers.” You blinked, too surprised and overwhelmed to respond. Eyes narrowed as you looked away from him, not knowing what to say or do. You were still scared due to the gory scene and his bloody appearance, and the severed arm on the floor was still... there... Ithaqua saw your still-scared expression, and he noticed that. He reached towards the severed limb, picking it up without looking at your deadened face. With a quick motion, he threw the arm outside through the doorway, shutting the door immediately after. Then he turned back to you, his body almost touching yours and his expression serious. “I’m sorry, Y/n.” He leaned in closer, looking deep into your eyes. “My behavior was inexcusable..” You felt the sense of love overwhelming you.
What was happening? Was he trying to be gentle? You hadn't felt this before. You never understood why, but you couldn't help but feel drawn to him at that moment. His sudden change was confusing to you. You remembered when the two of you were at the pond where he was staring at himself on the water, and a sudden act that he had taken that you didn't understand. He was like a mystery to you. Ithaqua smiled. It wasn't the same cruel smile he had worn before. His gaze lowered to your hair, then to your face. He seemed sad. He reached out a hand towards you, caressing your skin with the back of his fingers. “Come...” Ithaqua's voice was soft and gentle. “I have something to show you.” He held out a hand towards you as if asking you to follow. You hesitated, looking at him before looking down at your leg which was wrapped in bandages, yet you can't even be able to walk.
“You see that I cannot walk...” You spoke, “Are you going to drag me again like a ragdoll?” Ithaqua raised an eyebrow. “You're quite dramatic, aren't you? No worries, I'll just lift you up, and we'll be off.” He sounded a bit annoyed with your words, but his expression was calm again. “It's not like I'll kill you or anything. At least, not now.” With that, he picked you up as if you were a sack of potatoes. He was strong. Well... Even though he has bony arms. You felt a little embarrassed and ashamed of your outburst, but it was too late. You wrapped your arms around his hood, and he started walking with you in tow. “Where are you taking me?” You asked.
Are you always this naïve? A gust of strong wind opened the door as he went outside with you carrying you in his arms. His boots crunched against the snow as he walked with you in the cold forest. But you felt a strange warmth and comfort in his arms as he carried you. He didn't respond to your question, instead, he kept walking for miles until he stopped in front of a large log. Beside the log, you saw two snowmen. The big snowman had two red feathers on its head and pieces of green fruits hanging on its face and it seemed like it was hugging the little snowman. Ithaqua walked with you in his arms, your weight on his hands. The cold wind was brushing against your bare legs, but his body provided warmth and comfort. Ithaqua eventually stopped, setting you down next to the large log.
You looked up at the snowmen, which you hadn't noticed before. "What are those snowmen?" You asked curiously, staring at both the large snowman with the two red feathers and the smaller snowman. They seemed to have embraced each other. Their eyes closed like they were happy together. It was almost poetic. A smile spread across Ithaqua's face as you admired the snowmen. He was thinking about his mother. A sense of guilt and sorrow was evident in his eyes. “These... these are snowmen I made a long time ago, when I still lived with my mother.” He seemed nostalgic. He knelt in front of the snowmen, slowly stroking the large one's face. You watched silently, trying to imagine what it must have been like for him. “I am sorry for your lost.” You whispered, trying to give him some comfort. Ithaqua looked up at you, smiling softly behind the featureless mask.
You felt the sense of warmth coming from him. The grief was still evident on his face, even though years had passed since his mother's death. “I would give up everything... just to experience the same affection again.” He whispered. He looked at both snowmen, stroking their faces and wiping the snow from their eyes. “I miss my mother... I wish... things were different...” You could hear the heartbreak and sorrow in his voice.
You really felt for him. You wanted to tell him that everything would be okay, but you didn't. You just stayed there, in silence, and let him grieve. Ithaqua stayed that way, grieving and remembering the only person he had felt love for. Your sense of compassion and empathy was surprising to you. Ithaqua, the cold and cruel killer? The creature of the night, with no emotions? It was strange to see this side of him. And you wanted to feel this kind of love from him. You didn't know why. But you wanted it. His eyes were still filled with grief as he looked at the snowmen. He seemed to remember their faces, their smiles, and most importantly, the love his mother felt for him.
After a few moments, he stood back up. His gaze was serious again as if returning to his usual demeanor. “Shall I carry you back to the cabin?” he asked politely, looking down at you. You nodded, “... Sure.” You looked up at him. You felt a deep connection to him and his pain. Now, you understood what it was like to be without love, and you wanted to be able to give it to him. Ithaqua kneeled once again, picking you up with ease. Your legs dangled beneath his arms as he stood up. The wind brushed against both of you, but you felt the heat emanating from him. “Come.” He spoke. His tone had changed again, from soft and calm to harsh and cold again. “We must not dawdle.” He turned around, carrying you, and started heading back to the cabin.
The snow crunched in every step he took. You were too scared to say anything, so you stayed quiet and did as he said. He soon arrived at the broken cabin and entered. There was no warm and inviting fire, no comforting smell of food, only a chill in the air and the sound of the wind outside and the smell of blood.
Your mind was filled with uneasiness. The cabin was filled with silence, apart from the howling of the outside wind and the crunching of the snow beneath Ithaqua's feet. You couldn't see as he entered with you in his arms. The cabin was cold. But the sense of warmth was everywhere. You could feel it coming from Ithaqua. You heard Ithaqua place you on a bed, and then he sat on the foot of it. His body emanated a feeling of warmth and you felt yourself relaxed a bit, your uneasiness slowly fading away.
You narrowed your eyes as you looked at his white bloody mask. “Why are you wearing your mask even when you're alone with me?” you asked. “Is there something that really bothers you? You've been acting so strangely like a while ago when we were at the pond... And I heard you muttering about... someone. Who was he?” Ithaqua turned his head to you, his mask facing you.
Your question seemed to surprise him, the expression on his face changing. Ithaqua's body tensed, and you could feel the heat emanating from him disappear immediately. “That was... nothing,” Ithaqua whispered. “As for why I wear my mask... it is a part of me. I feel incomplete without it.” His voice was cold again. He stared you down, his tone stern and harsh. "It would be in your best interest not to ask about things that do not concern you, Y/n." You didn't heed his warning at all. “I am curious,” you said, your voice unwavering. “Who is he?” Ithaqua’s eyes widened, and his jaw clenched.
Without another word, he grabbed his long weapon, the ice axe, and pointed the blade at you. “We DO NOT speak about HIM. He's a fool, nothing but a devil WHO WORE MY FACE.” He spat out the words, his fury radiating in the air. “And this? This mask you're talking about? I keep my ugly face to be hidden. DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND ME?” An unexpected surge of rage came over him. His eyes were wild, and his expression was menacing behind the mask. He was trembling with rage, and he seemed ready to strike. His past had been a hard one and this was a reminder of it.
Ithaqua's rage was evident. His body was shaking as he tightened his grip on his axe. Ithaqua's voice was loud and aggressive, his mask hiding his expression. You felt his anger like a heavy weight on you, as he stood up, his body moving towards the foot of your bed while he pointed his axe at you. Your heart was pumping, as his rage seemed to grow with every angry word he spoke. It was like he became a different person. “WHY must you provoke me, by bringing up HE WHO SHALL NOT BE MENTIONED?!” His voice was loud, and you trembled in fear. You had no idea what was going to happen next - it felt like your life was on the line. “My apologies... I should not let my curiosity get in the way”, you replied timidly. “I am sorry.” You looked away, tears streaming down your face. Ithaqua doesn't want to talk about the man that you were curious about. His past seemed to have caught up with him, and the air was tense.
Ithaqua remembered that day when that man led a mob to his house and took away his mother. Ithaqua could feel his heart racing, as he was reminded of the pain he faced. He saw your tears and looked at you. The anger was still prevalent on his mask, as his expression remained cold. Your uneasiness returned as you looked at him. You could see his body trembling in rage. He held the axe tightly as if he would use it any time now. He seemed to calm down. His mask made it difficult to read his expressions. “This is the last time I'm going to warn you. Don't mention him. Ever.” His voice was like a whisper.
He seemed serious, and his rage was still evident under his breath. You nodded, not wanting to provoke him further. You moved away slowly, the insects on the mattress swarming around you. Fear crept up your spine as you removed your gaze from him. You didn't mind the insects crawling on you. Ithaqua calmed down even more. His rage settled as he stared at you, his hands gripping the axe. You could see a hint of sadness in his body. As if he was thinking about something. But what? You could see the emotions slowly creeping up on Ithaqua's mask, as he seemed calm but not completely relaxed. He was trying to regain himself. The insects on the bed seemed to be moving around your body. The insects swarmed around your feet.
You didn't mind their presence, as they didn't harm you. The sense of uneasiness returned. Ithaqua's grip on the axe loosened and he stepped back, his gaze softening. He sighed, and his shoulders slumped in resignation. He set the axe down and removed his cloak, letting it fall into the cold ground. He only kept the white mask on his face, turning to look at you. He sat down on the mattress next to you as he reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair away from your face. His touch was cold like ice and yet gentle. Ithaqua seemed much calmer now. His body was no longer trembling in anger. His gaze was still solemn, but not filled with cold rage. His touch was gentle and soft, and the warmth was coming back. It was as if he was regaining his usual demeanor. He looked you in the eyes, his mask hiding his expression. Ithaqua was gentle as he brushed your hair away. “My mother always used to do this to... comfort me.” He slowly sat on the bed, looking at you. His mask hid the sorrow in his eyes. He had a distant look on his face as if reminiscing about a distant past.
You glanced at him; his eyes were filled with sadness. Then you suddenly placed your hand on his head, patting him gently. “... Do you want to lay your head on my lap?” You asked as you turned to look back into his pale blue eyes. Ithaqua was surprised by your question. He seemed taken aback as he felt your hand patting his head. He slowly nodded. “Yes... if that's okay.” He turned his head as you gently placed his head on your lap. He felt your hand stroking his mask. Ithaqua remembered the past and all he and his mother had to endure. His mind flashed, a memory of his mother brushing his hair and patting his head, comforting him. He could almost feel his mother again. You smiled warmly at him, but you never felt so close being with the male who held you as a captive. He just wanted someone to love him again.
Slowly, you take off the white bloody mask from his face, revealing his pale face, his cold lips, and his icy-blue eyes as you pull it off from his face. He was quite shocked to see you taking off the mask. You then gently stroke his wavy platinum hair to comfort him. Ithaqua was surprised by your action. You were the first one to see his true face. It was the first time you saw his beauty. He was handsome, despite the cold expression on his face. Ithaqua's eyes widened as he looked at you, his pale blue eyes staring intently at you. “What... You...” The words struggled to come out of his mouth as he was breathless. “You are beautiful.” You finally admitted as you whispered softly and smiled, “even with or without the mask.” You moved your hand away from his hair and placed it on his cheek. Ithaqua's cheeks turned red.
A sense of embarrassment came over him as he felt your hands on his face. He never felt anyone's touch other than his mother's touch. “You shouldn't... see this...” He whispered as he tried to reach for the mask you took off. The joy and embarrassment in his voice were evident. There was even a hint of shyness in his tone and words. You could see his eyes light up again. You smiled at him and reassured him that it was alright. “No, it is alright. I wanted to see the real you,” you said. “You are a beautiful man. You shouldn't fear who you are.” Ithaqua's face was filled with joy, happiness, and love. He blushed a bit, as he looked at you. His eyes filled with light. “I... I shouldn't hide behind this mask. It's not who I am...” He took your hand that was on his cheek, holding it in his hand and caressing your hand. “Thanks anyway...” You could just hear his voice filled with emotions. Joy and love. You felt his heart beating, and you felt his heat emanating from his chest. You looked into his eyes, and you both knew.
You felt the connection between you two. You moved closer to his face. “You are welcome.” His heart was beating faster, as the feelings were mutual. He moved closer to you, putting away his mask, and placing it down on the mattress so his lips were close to yours. He was holding your hand, as he caressed your cheek gently. “I have never felt like this before..” He whispered. His warm breath brushed your skin, as he gave you a slight gaze. You felt a sense of affection emanating from him. He gently placed his other hand on your neck, his fingers caressing your skin. It was like he was trying to comfort you. He was blushing a bit and smiling with his eyes closed. His voice was soft and gentle, like a whisper in the night. You could feel your heart racing, as you started to blush too. You leaned in and suddenly kissed him. His lips were cold, but your warmth spread through them. Ithaqua closed his eyes, as you kissed him. His lips were soft and cold against your lips. You could feel the affection radiating from him and your warmth spread through his lips. As you broke the kiss, you could see both of you breathing heavily.
A sense of affection and happiness had spread across both of you. Ithaqua placed his hand on your cheek again, as you both stared at each other. “You made me feel so alive...” He whispered, smiling a bit. His eyes twinkled as he said those words. You smiled back, as you intertwined your hands with his. He stood up and pulled you closer and kissed you again. His lips were gentle yet firm. Your touch sent a shiver through his body, as a wave of passion rushed through his blood. Ithaqua's arms wrapped around your waist, as he pulled you close in kiss again. His lips were firm, with a tender and gentle touch. His hands caressed your cheeks softly, as he kissed you with love and passion. “You're so beautiful...” He whispered. “Please, never leave me... I'm sorry..”
The words of desperation slipped from his mouth. Your touch was heavenly. You embraced him tightly, feeling his heart beating against your chest. You whispered back, "I am here, I am not going anywhere. I will stay with you always." You smiled. He let out a sigh of relief and smiled back, burying his face in the crook of your neck. You held him close, giving him the comfort, he needed. He then started kissing and gently biting your neck. You felt his love and warmth radiating through you, and you melted into his embrace. Ithaqua's heart was racing, as you melted into his embrace. His body was shaking, and your love was so warm and passionate. He had never felt love, kindness, or affection for so long. Ithaqua's teeth lightly trailed along your neck, as he kissed and gently bit them. His slender hands caressed your hips, as he hugged you tightly. He was like a man starving for affection, and you were his first meal. He didn't want to let you go.
You looked into his eyes and saw the longing he had. He slowly pushed you onto the mattress and leaned closer to you. You ran your hands through his wavy white locks and kissed him deeply. His lips were cold but sweet, with a touch of passion in them. He was almost like a hungry animal, as his hands caressed and held your hips. He looked at you passionately, like a man thirsting for compassion and love. A touch, a caress, and a hug that he hadn't had for so long. Ithaqua's lips touched you, as you both gave in to passion and love. His eyes closed tightly as he gave you a tight hug, as his hands went up your body, caressing your thighs. Your body quivered in pleasure as his touch sent a shiver down your spine. You could feel his heart beating quickly against your chest as you embraced each other. He continued to caress you, as your warmth was spread across his body. He gave you a gentle kiss, before pulling himself towards you. The sound of his heartbeat sounded like a drum in your ears. He ran his hands through your hair, his arms wrapped around you. He wanted you to know how loved you were, and to caress every inch of you.
You could feel his fingers running up and down along your thighs and stomach. “Y/n...” He whispered with a hint of lust. His breath was hot against your neck as he lightly kissed it. His hands moved lower until they were resting just above your clothes. You could feel the anticipation building as he looked into your eyes. His fingers lightly traced the edge of your clothes, as his mouth was still caressing your neck slightly. His breath was hot, and his touch sent a shiver across your body. You could feel anticipation in his body, as his touch was getting more aggressive. He then broke the kiss, and his icy eyes met yours with a look of lust. His hands moved lower and started taking off your clothes. He then pushed them off your body, and you felt a wave of pleasure as his hands moved over your skin. His mouth followed, trailing kisses across your body. His hands moved around your body, exploring and caressing as he whispered sweet nothings in your ear. You felt yourself getting lost in the moment, lost in the sensation of his touch. You felt like you were about to cry from his touch, yet you did. As your tears fell, he got even more excited.
Ithaqua's touch was addictive, as his hands caressed and touched you more. He was slowly discovering your body, your curves, and your sensitive spots as he kissed and caressed your body. You were like heaven to his touch... He could feel his heart racing and his passion rising up inside him. As your tears dropped, his hand caressed your face as he looked deeply into your eyes. He was trying to be gentle with you. You felt the tears slowly drop from your eyes. He then kissed your eyes and kissed away your tears. Is this what love felt like? You felt overwhelmed with emotion, and you embraced him tightly. He felt his heart swell with emotion and held you close. You knew this moment was special and would never forget it. You both knew that this was the beginning of something beautiful. His heart was beating out of his chest. A wave of emotions was flowing through his veins as you held him close.
As he felt your hands embrace him, it was all he needed at that moment. He wanted it to stay that way forever. His mouth slowly traced your neck and shoulders. His touch was light, as his tongue danced along your skin. Ithaqua's hands caressed your face again... your cheeks, your nose, your lips... as his love and passion were growing for you. Did you really have fallen in love with a man-killing beast? You looked into his eyes and could feel the love radiating from them. You knew you had fallen in love with him. You wanted to comfort him, to tell him that you would always be there for him. Now, you understand him. He was an abominable snowman, the beast who lurked on the Plateau of Leng, yet you felt a connection between the two of you. He was no longer a monster, but a loved one. Ithaqua was losing his inhibitions. He let go of his fears, his demons and his darkness, all to be with you. He had been loved finally, by someone. He wanted to comfort you, to hold you, to hug you and never let you go. You were like a Lenten Rose, a wildflower that grows in the snow. Every minute spent with you felt like an eternity.
“I'm sorry for being harsh and for hurting you earlier,” he said. He held you tightly, as tears started streaming down his face. His heart was filled with love, and he knew he never wanted to let go. “Promise me, Y/n. That you will stay with me.” He gazed into your eyes, his own filled with regret and sorrow. “I do not want to lose you like I lose her.”

It's B who's always been the party animal, not A. But they're friends, and B has way more other friends than A does, so where they go, A goes too.
"It'll be good for you," B told them before they set off, throwing an arm around their shoulders. "You need more friends who aren't me."
Maybe, grudgingly, A would agree. Still, they have no desire to spend their night in a stuffy apartment full of drunk people they've never met, either bored out of their mind or anxious out of their skin, depending.
But they're B's friend, so for the first twenty minutes of the party that's exactly what they do.
And for a while, it isn't too bad. The party isn't crazy loud - nobody's smashing windows or dancing on the kitchen table or getting into fistfights - but it's still too much for A to comfortably join in. They spend most of it quietly petting B's cat in the corner, bottled water in hand, giving quick smiles and at most a few words of greeting to whoever notices them. Just-enough smiles, 'I'm-not-a-creep-I-just-have-no-idea-how-to-talk-to-people' smiles. Most people don't talk to them at all, though, so there's no reason for anything more.
After a couple hours, in which A has slowly pried themselves from the corner and the cat and gets used to hovering near the closest snack table, things start getting hazy. The lights in the room are blurring a little, the outlines of people and objects smudging in between blinks - they've never needed glasses before, but this is what they'd imagine it feels like. If they'd been drinking anything other than their own bottled water, they would've worried somebody spiked their drink. They feel weird, and disoriented, and bad.
Worse, whatever this feeling is, it's come on too quickly for them to notice it happening.
After some time they find themselves seated back on the couch, though the cat is now nowhere in sight. Sounds are too loud, even the dim light is too bright, and above all they feel somehow removed from the rest of the room, floating somewhere far away with no roots in the world they're seeing. And they're sniffling. When did their nose start running?
Disjointed as they are, it takes them much too long a moment to realize someone is talking to them.
They turn their head slowly, alarmed at how dizzy it makes them. A face hovers close to theirs, eyebrows raised and expression questioning. They have to blink hard to make the features come into focus.
"I haven't seen much of you tonight," says this new person, a small smile playing on their lips. Flirtatious almost, it clicks into A's fuzzy brain.
"Oh," is all they can say.
"I don't think we've met."
A shakes their head, trying to clear it. "I'm A," they say.
They struggle to remember if they've ever spoken to this person before, but their brain seems to be blocked, leaving them unable to speak let alone think. "You're not B", they say eventually --realizing a second later what a stupid sounding thing to say that is.
But the figure next to them laughs. "Took you long enough to notice. I'm C. Have you had one too many?"
A swallows, their throat tight and scratchy. "I don't drink."
"Okay, I believe you," says C, sounding like they don't believe it at all. "Are you a friend of B's? We've been friends for ages, I'm surprised I've never met you before."
Whenever C moves, it's like a fuzzy halo of light around them shifts a moment after, following just a little too far behind. Their face is bright; it kind of hurts to look at them and it's kind of mesmerizing and A isn't sure what to do.
"Hey, A? Are you with me?"
A blinks, suddenly extraordinarily tired. The face in front of them is swaying and blurring and looks so very wrong...
"I'm fine," they mutter. "Just pretty tired. Long day."
C gives what looks like a sympathetic smile, but their eyebrows form a slight crease. "Are you ok? You're sweating."
"Am I?" They feel chilled if anything, damp and clammy.
With a slight smirk, C folds part of their sleeve over their hand and brushes the fabric across A's forehead. The sleeve melts into their skin. "There," they say, "all better."
But even as the words leave their mouth, their expression changes from playful to concerned, a frown sprouting up. To A's surprise, their hand stays where it was, resting on their temple, then flips over so their knuckles brush the skin on their forehead ever so gently. A can't stop looking at them, the outline of their face is glowing...
"Oh," they say softly, "you've got a fever."
It takes a second for them to process what's being said, because they feel like they're standing halfway inside a weird world where the edges of things melt together and voices are too long and minutes are too tall and surfaces sparkle like dew...and even when they do they have to shake their head, fighting to clear it first. "I...do I?" Does it matter?
There's a soft pressure on their face as C keeps their hand in place. "You feel like you do...why haven't you told anyone you're sick?"
"I'm - not - "
It's like they're looking at a photograph with the contrast turned way up - shadows are so dark they can hardly see the corners of the room anymore, and the lights are blinding. They try shaking their head again, but everything swoops around them like a rocking ship. Is that the earth turning?
C taps them on the shoulder, and then they're standing up and towering over A. "B has a guest room somewhere. Let's go find it, shall we?"
Before they know it they're being pulled to their feet, swaying as the ground swoops out from under them, and gripping the nearest steady thing - which turns out to be C's shoulder. They hadn't realized just how badly off they were until now, only upon standing to they feel how weak and wobbly their knees are, or how badly their back and legs and head ache, how heavy they feel.
They cling to C. The party blends and melts around them; shapes crumbling into one another, sounds too muffled and twisted to make out. It makes A so dizzy they're almost sick to their stomach, struggling to focus on anything that isn't moving.
As it turns out, that one steady thing is C's shoulder.
The rest of the journey is a blur, but the next thing they know they're somewhere much quieter and darker, and a pair of hands is guiding them to lie down on something soft, drawing a warm cover over them.
It takes their brain a moment to catch up. "Whose bed is this?" they mumble once it does.
"It's a guest room," says C's voice from somewhere close by. "B won't mind. I'll check with them later, but I'm sure it'll be fine."
To their horror, A feels tears prickle at the corners of their eyes. Even lying down in the warmth and the dark, they feel so miserable. "B doesn't care about me," they say. They aren't sure where this is coming from, but once it's out, it's out. "They - they left me. I haven't seen them all night. They don't want me here..."
C makes a soft, sympathetic sound. When A opens their eyes again they're sitting near them, one hand gently on their shoulder. "I'm sure B still cares a lot about you, they're just caught up with things right now. Once I tell them you're sick they'll be all over you trying to help, you just wait."
A sniffs. They can't deny C's good at sounding reassuring. "Everything hurts."
"I know. I'm sorry. I wonder what you've caught...if it came on so quickly it could be the flu...why don't I get you some water and a couple painkillers, that should help - "
"Wait, C -" A tries to sit up but right away collapse again in a cold sweat, head swimming. Their fingers find C's sleeve and grip it. "Please don't go yet. Just...just one more minute."
It feels like an hour that C pauses for, not moving. But then they sit down on the edge of the bed, one hand tentatively reaching up to stroke A's hair. "Okay. One more minute."
The shadows are still too dark, oppressive and threatening, while the light from the little lamp C turned on hurts their already sore eyes. But C's hand is gentle and soft, maybe cool and maybe warm but either way it's soothing on their skin.
A hardly knows them - at all - but curling up closer to that kind hand is easy. It's natural. So that's just what A does.

He was worried and wondering why when he came home and saw the door wide open and your not in the house
Things were scattered everywhere and he was panicking and praying that you were okay and unharmed
He saw footprints and started following them through the dark forest with only the luminous moon to guide him in the blackness of the night
The footprints led him inside of a graveyard but that was the least of his concern, his top priority was finding you in one piece
The footprints went deeper into the graveyard and the chills were starting to settle in him
He was walking towards the middle where a big statue was and once he got close enough, you jumped out at him in a vampire costume, “BOOO!”
He jumped and screamed before stumbling backwards, his heart was racing at this point
The hell?! I thought you were kidnapped or hurt and you’re out in the middle of a graveyard with a fricken costume on like this is a game?!”
He was extremely relieved that you were safe but he was also a little annoyed that you decided to prank him in the middle of the night
“Aw c'mon Genya, Halloween is coming soon and I really wanted to get in the Halloween spirit!”
He also wanted to start celebrating Halloween but he didn’t want to have another heart attack so he decided to let this slide (this time)

He was confused on why you had texted him to meet up in a graveyard but he didn’t question it and thought you wanted to look at the stars or something, he didn’t mind as long as it was with you
On the way there, he couldn't deny that it was a little sketchy, the fog and darkness created an eerie atmosphere and it didn’t help that it was completely quiet, no wind, no animals, nothing
When he got to the graveyard, he began to walk around to look for you, calling out your name every now and then
When he didn’t hear a response, he continued to walk around and shoot you a text
Before he finished typing, you jumped out and scared him which resulted in him dropping his phone and he let out a scream
After he saw it was just you, he let out a deep breath and said, “Wow, you got me real good! And your costume looks so cool!”
He thought all your planning was clever and asked you if you wanted to team up and prank other friends
He also wanted to get into the Halloween spirit so the next day, you took him to the store so he could get a matching costume

He was extremely nervous and confused on why your friend was bringing him on a narrow trail in the woods while it was dimly lit by the lamps that were along the trail
He was wondering where you are and if you were safe but he was scared that he would be eaten by a monster since he was in the middle of nowhere
Your friend kept trying to tell him that they wanted to show him something cool but he kept saying things like, “Why couldn’t you show me during the day in a normal place?!” “Why couldn’t Y/n come? They would’ve protected me from the creepy monsters here!”
Once your friend got him in the graveyard, they ran away while he wasn’t looking and when he turned around and saw that he was alone, he started screaming and crying, “HUH?! WHERE DID YOU GO?! AM I ALL ALONE AND Y/N ISN’T EVEN HERE TO HOLD ME WHILE I CRY! I’M GOING TO DIE ALL ALONE-“
You jumped out from behind the gravestone and scared him and you have never seen anyone jump so high
He screamed incredibly loud that you thought he busted a few vocal cords
“WHY WOULD YOU SCARE ME EVEN MORE?! YOU OWE ME SO MANY CUDDLES AND KISSES, I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE ALONE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!”
He hugged you tightly and kept sobbing, your prank worked although it might’ve worked too well

You had to convince him that there was treasure in the forest and that was the only thing that got him to leave the house and race into the forest
He ran while laughing like a mad man looking for the supposed treasure you were talking about
He didn’t even notice he was in a graveyard because he was too caught up in hunting down the treasure even though he didn’t know what exactly the treasure was
He kept looking behind and near the statues and graves and was about to look behind the one you were hiding next to and then you popped out
Out of instinct, he smacked you after yelling and when he realized it was you, he shouted, “(Mispronounced name)? Why the hell are you out here in weird clothes?!”
You rubbed where he smacked you and whined, “Oww,  I tried to scare you for fun since Halloween was coming, you didn’t need to hit me jeez.”
After he reluctantly apologized to you, he made you apologize to him for getting him pumped up for a treasure hunt that didn’t even exist

Silver and gold, two colors that had not existed in the same space in eons, met silently. Agust’s body was frozen as glistening tears spilled from those all too familiar silver pools. A single drop of blood plopped down from the ceiling and splashed on Ceyeh’s cheek. A small river of tinted red streamed down her face, yet she made no move to wipe it away. Agust stepped forward with a hand raised and Ceyeh’s arm shot out with a startled gasp as she took a quick step backwards. The distance wasn’t much, a handful of footsteps, yet Agust felt that there were whole continents between them.
“My moon?”
Ceyeh’s silver eyes narrowed into thin slits as she glared at the animal spirit that spoke to her. Her lips curled over her teeth and the feathers on her shoulders bristled. Agust felt his forked tongue turn to lead. He couldn’t form any words, the hatred in Ceyeh’s eyes was a harsh reminder of their past.
A water drop from his hairline, tinted grey, slid down his face and seeped into the open wound by his eye. Agust hissed, his right eye slammed shut as the pain blurred his vision. Ceyeh took the moment to flee and ran out into the rain. Agust growled, his chest rumbling violently as he spun on his heels and took chase.
Black leathery wings sprouted from Agust’s back and carried him through the rainstorm. The chilled winds and icy rain threatened to freeze the strong appendages, but Agust refused to lose Ceyeh. He would chase her to the end of the Earth, and further still, if he had to.
The town flew by in darkened colors and distorted shapes as he followed the scent of rotten tangerines. The scent was a searing reminder of his past mistakes. Agust growled as he caught sight of brown and grey as Ceyeh darted around a corner. He flapped his wings harshly, just once to propel himself upwards over the houses. Below him, Ceyeh hid against a wall, the roofing created a small awning that shielded her from the rain but not from his sight.
Agust wasted no time, he had chased Ceyeh long enough. Pushing his soaked hair out of his eyes once more, Agust dived in the air and dropped right in front of Ceyeh. The bird spirit's feathers ruffled and she swiped at Agust with her talons. Agust easily caught Ceyeh’s wrist with one hand - the attack was half hearted. Afterall, he was in the body of the very man that Ceyeh’s host loved. He pressed himself into Ceyeh’s space and loomed over her smaller frame as he took shelter from the endless rainfall.
The two of them were soaked, a couple of drowned rats if anyone saw them. Ceyeh’s heart beat harshly as it drummed against Agust’s chest. She moved to push him away, she hated that he was so close. Her eyes were nearly glowing, bright and wide like the moon trapped in the sky. Agust narrowed his eyes and snarled in warning. He wouldn’t hurt Ceyeh but he would not accept her running from him again.
From this distance, what little there was, Agust was reminded of the past once more. The rancid scent that filled his lungs, the blood on his hands, the uncertainty in Ceyeh’s eyes, it all reminded him of the times long gone. The memories raced to the forefront of Agust’s mind and drowned out any coherent thought as he was confronted with his past.
The air was chilled as the night clung to the dark. Its bleakness was all-consuming, a muted reminder of the light that was bound to come. In the far distance, a single tree sat atop of a hill, its silhouette nearly invisible as shadows wrapped around it. The shiny stars above twinkled and gleamed, and the moon casted a silver halo on the land. Nighttime in the spring was peaceful and filled with the songs of tear crickets.
A low rumble broke the silence and the sound of large wings cutting through the air echoed faintly. An enormous shadow covered the land, darker than the night as it soared past the fading moon. A melodic chirp called after the large winged being, and soon a smaller winged creature was by its side. Together the beings glided through the air. Feathers and scales were kissed with moonlight, iridescent and soft.
Day slowly pushed through the darkness of night. Black and deep blue gave way to ruddy red and warm orange. The clouds sprinkled a harsh shadow against the new backdrop as the sun started to rise. Stars glittered to a faded memory as the moon dissolved into the mellow yellow and lighter blue of the day. As the sun crested over the horizon, the two shadows in the sky were bathed in a pleasant bloom of light. Onyx scales shimmered and tiny rainbows were thrown onto misty white clouds as strong wings carried the body of the dragon higher and higher. Brown and silver wings fluttered in the air, gleaming as the sun warmed the body of the lightning bird.
Side by side they flew until they reached the hill with the single tree. The dragon swooped down first. His large body took up most of the space, and he curled his long spiked tail in front of his feet as he sat upright. He lifted his face towards the sky and grumbled a warning as the bird above hovered in the air. The dragon snapped at the air and thumped his tail once; the large limp shook the very ground he sat on. A teasing chirp filled the air and the bird flouted down closer and closer to the dragon. Silver eyes shined as they looked into swirling gold and the dragon started to shrink.
In the air the bird started to shift, and feathers rained down upon the dragon. A woman’s giggles followed the breeze as she danced in the air, wings sprouted from her back. Below, the dragon was not large like before but the size of a man who stood well above six feet. Both were nude but there was no discomfort as the woman allowed herself to sink into the awaiting arms of her lover. Her own ebony arms wrapped loosely around the man’s tanned neck as her wings folded against her back and were absorbed into her body.
“Looks like I beat you, my moon.”
The woman scoffed and tangled her fingers into the man’s long raven black hair.
“I let you win, mpenzi.”
The man huffed a laugh and blew out a plume of smoke through his nose as he lowered himself to the ground. He leaned his back against the tree and cradled the woman in his arms as she sat on his lap.
“Shall we test your theory?”
“I will be the victor everytime.”
The man shifted with a growl and trapped the woman underneath him, pinned to the ground by her arms and hips. The man had a smug smirk on his handsome face and the woman sucked her teeth. Willing the wings on her back to shoot out, she propled herself upward and sent the man sprawling onto his butt. She hovered above him, her foot pressed lightly against his chest as she smiled down at him.
“It is as I said, mpenzi.”
Agust blinked as his vision started to blur. The pain in his right eye had started to throb consistently, no longer a dull irritation as dye tinted water ran down his face.
“My moon, you must stay by my side.”
“I am fine, mpenzi.”
“Ceyeh-”
“Agust.”
Agust huffed as Ceyeh walked ahead of him in a crowd. Snow crunched underneath their feet and Agust cringed. He was not accustomed to wearing shoes, nor was the amount of clothing acceptable, but he refused to let Ceyeh suffer alone. They were in an unfamiliar part of the world, up north to meet with humans that had requested their aid.
It was colder than the land in the southwest but it wasn’t anything that really bothered Agust. He was a dragon and his blood naturally ran hotter than most creatures. Ceyeh, however, had a hard time. She lived for the warmth of the sun and the cool moon on her bareskin. Having to wear such thick clothing was unusual and made her itch.
There were many layers to her garb while in the north. A tan linen dress with a rounded neckline was the base and worn over top was another dress made from wool, dyed a deep brown with white crisscross squares embroidered down the whole length of the front. Ceyeh’s shoulders and head were kept warm by a brownish-black woven cloak with a geometric design stitched throughout. The hood was adored with cowrie shells around the hem and white fox fur was on the inside to keep the wearer warm. Brown leather booties covered Ceyeh’s feet and cuts of fox fur were wrapped around her ankles with thin leather straps.
Agust thought Ceyeh looked lovely. The colors complemented her darker skin tone along with the tan and silver feathers that never left the creases of her eyes or cuffs of her ears. As a warrior, Ceyeh always stayed half shifted in case she ever needed to protect herself. Agust followed her lead, allowing his golden eyes to be framed in tiny black horns and his black scales lined his jawline and collar bones before they appeared in five inch patches along the rest of his body. Except at the small of his back and hips where the scales covered the skin fully and grew sparse as they went lower towards his inner thighs. When Ceyeh felt playful, she would teasingly compare Agust’s scales to that of a naga since their hip placement was similar.
Agust wore dark brown wool breeches with a tan linen round neck tunic. Over top he layered a brown cross collared wool coat with a brown-black woven cloak that had a tan and white swirl design stitched along the hood and hemming. His feet were covered with brown leather turnshoes and tan handwoven leg wraps. The darker tones made his honey tanned skin stand out, and his scales glistened.
“Ceyeh!” Agust called after his lover as she got lost in the crowd. He hurried his steps, ducking and dodging in between people as he followed the scent of warmed tangerines and sweet honey. He found himself in the town square in front of a large stone statue of who he assumed to be the land's first ruler. A flash of tan and brown flickered in the peripheral of his left eye and he pivoted on his heels.
“Cey-”
Whoosh!
“Ack!”
Agust stood as still as stone as children’s laughter filled the air. His eyes were closed and his mouth was filled with an icy substance that melted on his tongue. He spit something out on the ground and wiped his face with his hand. As he looked at the ground, he saw the remains of a ball of snow.
"Ni nini maana ya hii?" Agust asked as he glared at the children, his anger pulled his native tongue from his lips, and Ceyeh appeared with a small child no more than three in her arms.
Ceyeh laughed, her face bright as she hiked the child up higher on her hip, “They call it a snowball fight!”
Agust was at a loss for words. A snowball fight? He looked at the broken ball of snow and licked his lips.
“Is it a declaration of war?”
“Wema!” Ceyeh laughed as she shook her head. “A game, mpenzi.”
The discomfort was clearly displayed on Agust’s face. His lips pursed into a frown, a pout half formed as he brows pulled together. One single word bounced in Ceyeh’s mind as she looked at her ex-lover: Pallas. Ceyeh’s hand shook as she reached up to push away the strands of hair that dug into the open wound. Agust’s whole body tensed and Ceyeh stared unblinking as she tucked the uneven hair behind his ear. Some of the dye had started to melt away, patches of blond shined here and there.
The cut was deep but thankfully not jagged, it would heal in due time. Ceyeh was sure that it would scar and she felt something buried inside tremble in worry. She swallowed and grabbed Agust’s hand. Most of the blood had washed away from the rain, now his black clawed fingers were cold to the touch, his palm the only warmth. They stared at each other, chests rose and fell without a sound. The rain pelted the ground and mud splashed onto the bottom of their clothing.
Ceyeh tugged at Agust’s hand as he squeezed her fingers and she pushed against his chest. Agust didn’t move an inch and Ceyeh narrowed her eyes as a frown formed on her lips.
Ceyeh’s hand was laced with Agust’s as they walked through the town. Humans and creatures alike all placed their fist over their hearts and bowed their heads. Agust returned the gesture while Ceyeh smiled wide. Her hair was plaited into micro braids with small gold hoop rings looped into a few that framed her face.
Ceyeh wore a teal asymmetrical skirt with a white and gold brocaded chest band. A thin rope with red, white, and yellow beads rested against her waist with a single pixie crow’s feather attached at the center. She wore no shoes and walked with black feather anklets that brushed against each other if her steps were too small.
Agust was shirtless and wore a simple pair of white trousers that bunched at his knees and hung loose on his thighs. He too was barefoot and wore a single gold anklet on his right leg. Large golden earrings hung from his ears and his long dark hair flowed freely, his bangs pulled back and braided before they were wrapped together with golden twine.
The market today was said to have beautiful goods and Agust was on the hunt for the perfect gift. Ceyeh had lost the last torment in her village and her spirits were a little low. She smiled and laughed, but it never reached her eyes. Agust couldn’t stand to see his lover down, and as he came upon a foreign vendor, he saw just what he had been looking for.
Agust tugged on Ceyeh’s hand and pulled her towards the vender with a toothy grin. The sun reflected off the scales on his collarbones and casted a multitude of mini rainbows against Ceyeh’s chest as he turned towards her. The smile on her face was soft and true, endeared as she leaned into Agust’s chest and wrapped her arms around his waist as best she could. The dragon was large, even in human form. He kissed the top of Ceyeh’s head before he rested his cheek against her for a short while. They were in a world all their own as they basked in each other’s love, and when Agust pulled away, Ceyeh’s eyes were a pale silver and shined like freshly plucked pearls.
“I love you,” Agust breathed as he cupped Ceyeh’s face in his hands. Her fingers wound around his wrists and she smiled, melting into his touch. “Come now, pick your gift.”
Agust placed a warm, tender kiss upon Ceyeh’s lips and a high-pitched whistle slipped into his mouth. A mating call that never failed to make a sensual flame churn in his gut and threaten to consume him whole. Agust broke the kiss with only a few centimeters in between their lips. He smiled as Ceyeh chased after him and shook his head softly, teasingly.
“Pick what you will wear while I ravage your body again and again, my moon.”
Ceyeh pushed at Agust’s chest again and stepped forward, shoving them out into the rain. The water was startling and forced the clotted blood on Agust’s face to loosen and run red. Agust hissed as the rain stung the wound and he bared his teeth, unimpressed with Ceyeh’s actions.
Ceyeh pointed in the direction of the palace and Agust understood what she had wanted. He allowed for Ceyeh to lead the way. She walked with a purpose and Agust stared at the expense of her bare back where her jeogori had been ripped, showing off dark scarring that resembled ice crystals in the shape of wings. The mark of the lightning bird made Agust’s steps falter as he realized that the wings were just scars. There were no fully formed wings with sleek tan and silver feathers.
Agust closed his fingers into a fist and pulled his arm down at his side. He caught himself in time, he hadn't even noticed that he had raised his arm to touch Ceyeh’s back. Now, halfway to the palace, the rain had lightened and the bleeding cut on Agust’s face continued to sting as raindrops continued to bombard the deep wound. Wanting to get out of the rain as fast as possible, Agust pulled Ceyeh’s hand back harshly which made her stumble backwards into his chest. He was quick to scoop her into his arms and in the blink of an eye, his wings had sprouted from his back once more.
Ceyeh scowled at Agust’s wings, the large black appendages made her want to give him a matching gash over his left eye. Agust tightened his hold on Ceyeh and took off into the air with a single flap of his wings. Agust flew above the houses, only a foot above the roofs to avoid detection from guards and the village folk. Ceyeh watched as the world passed underneath her unknowing. A deep longing radiated in her eyes and as she looked away from the ground, Agust caught sight of the tears in her eyes.
Agust rumbled in his chest, a purr of sorts meant to comfort the woman in his arms as he flew closer and closer to the palace. Ceyeh closed her eyes, she didn’t want to see the view from above anymore. It was a mocking and painful reminder of what she had once had…before it had been stolen away.
Mid-spring in the northwest was humid at best. Full, fluffy clouds of white and blinding rays of sun glared down at the land from above and begged anyone to find shade. The lightning birds worked hard during the humid months and Ceyeh was no exception to the rule. In the middle of the day she would fly to the tree on top of the hill and wait until the sun was the highest in the sky. As she sat parched on top of the branches, she whistled a song that forced cool winds and heavy clouds.
A mild clash of nature created a low rumble as clouds rolled in from the north and filled the sky. The rumbling grew louder and at the first roaring crash of thunder, rain poured down from the Heavens. Thin, steamy vapors raised from the ground as it greedily drank in the refreshing liquid. Sometimes Mother Earth wasn’t fast enough in her gluttony and she choked on the water, sputtering so much that emptied river beds overflowed and villages flooded. It was as much a curse as it was a blessing.
The lightning never came, and Ceyeh sighed as she flapped her wings. Today would be a taxing one and she stopped her singing. The feathers that covered her body started to glow with a dim halo of blue silver, watery like the moon’s reflection on the rivers. Ceyeh’s eyes were a liquid pool of rolling clouds and endless skies. She flew high above and gave a mighty cry as she circled the sun seven times. Lightning cracked, a white-grey tree root in the sky before the electric light followed the rumble of the thunder. Ceyeh hovered in the air, her eyes focused on the flickering light that grew farther and farther away.
Satisfied with her work, Ceyeh turned back to her tree and chirped at the sight of Agust’s human form standing under the cover of the leaves. She flew to him and shrunk in size as she got closer. Agust smiled as Ceyeh landed on his shoulder and nuzzled into his temple.
“You did very well, little bird.”
Ceyeh’s wings ruffled at the teasing lilt to Agust’s voice and he laughed, golden eyes bright and gleaming. Ceyeh headbutted him and nipped at his hair, flapping her wing as she made sure to soak him.
“You will pay for that, my moon.” Agust laughed once more, his gravel-like voice softened at the edges with love. He pecked Ceyeh’s head and stroked the smooth feathers along her back.
“Shall we head home?”
The palace wall came into view and Agust flew towards where the trees were the thickest. He blended in well enough with the cover of the clouds but he wanted to make sure no one saw Ceyeh in such a state. There was only one place that Agust knew they would be safest, and he flew into the seventh garden. He passed the lunch clearing, ignored the Blackthorns and flew right to the man-made water pool. As his feet touched the ground, his chest filled with strong flames and he blew them out onto the top of the water. The flames touched the stone waterfall and the runes turned a yellow orange before the water started to steam.
Ceyeh kicked her feet and Agust set her on the ground, a hand kept close to her lower back if she needed help. She stepped away from Agust and he resisted following her every step. Here in the cover of the trees, no rain fell down around them.
Agust’s wound still bled. It throbbed and the pain spiderwebbed down the length of his face, just below his jaw. Ceyeh refused to look at him, her back turned as she crossed her arms over her chest. Agust’s clenched his teeth, now that they were alone and hidden from the rest of the world completely, he couldn’t seem to untangle the memories and feelings within his heart.
Bodies littered the ground, blood watered the grass, a mass grave had been built and it kept growing in size. Fire and smoke spread to destroy the land. It burned everything down until nothing but ash was left.
In the carnage of it all, Ceyeh and Agust stood face to face. Agust’s eyes were ignited with hatred as he glared at the woman he once loved and trusted with his life. Ceyeh’s eyes glowed as sparkling tears littered her face like glitter.
How had this come to be? What had turned her lover against her and her people? What had gone so wrong?
Agust lunged with a growl and tackled Ceyeh, who in turn used Agust’s momentum to flip them over. She pinned him to the ground, her forearm dug into his neck while her wings pressed into his shoulders.
“Yield!” Ceyeh demanded with tears in her eyes. “Agust, please? Stop this madness!”
Agust snarled, snapping his jaws while spit started to foam in the corners of his mouth as he tried to shake himself free. She had betrayed him and his people, the humans were here for their hoards and their scales. They knew too many secrets about dragons and the leader of the humans had given Agust one name.
“I will kill you!” Agust seethed, his eyes were large and bulbous like a wild boar as he honed in on Ceyeh.
“Agust!” Ceyeh begged as she tried to talk sense into him. She didn’t understand what had happened, and in truth, seeing Agust like this before her was soul-crushing.
She tried to smooth his hair from his face, tried to touch him gently but that only seemed to anger Agust more. He lashed out, stronger than Ceyeh had been prepared for and sent her flying onto her back. He pounced, caged her underneath his legs as he sat on her hips.
His smile was misplaced, something Ceyeh has never seen directed at herself before. It was wicked and cruel, taunting as Agust cupped her face gently. His claws pressed into the meat of her cheeks and drew blood. He hummed deep in his chest and turned her head away from him as he leaned forward.
“You did thisss to ussss, my moon,” Agust’s voice was warped, a hissing growl as he lost more and more of his control.
“Did what?” Ceyeh demanded, her voice full of tears as Agust licked the sweat and dirt from her neck.
Agust growled as he nuzzled into the softness of her throat, the vein pulsed quickly as she tried not to panic.
“The sssweetessst ssscents hide the worst sssecretsss. I wisssh not to hear anymore of your liesss!”
⚠⚠⚠
Ceyeh opened her mouth to speak and screamed. Blood filled her throat and lungs as Agust sunk his teeth into her neck and ripped out her vocal cords. Blood covered his mouth, it was bitter and as Ceyeh gurgled underneath him, Agust finally let his tears fall. Ceyeh’s hand shot to her neck as she tried to stop the bleeding but she knew it was pointless. She managed to pull herself out from under Agust and rolled onto her stomach. Blood spilled from the gaping hole in her neck and she wheezed, a sound choked by bloody bubbles.
Wings sprouted from Ceyeh’s back, shining silver and warm tan, a sight that always made Agust purr. Now he scrambled to his feet as Ceyeh tried to fly away and his chest burned as he heaved a great billowing flame right at her back.
Ceyeh dropped six feet from the air, her body hit the ground with a heavy thud and laid a yard away, unmoving. Agust was panting, his chest ached but he chose to ignore the reason why. He took careful steps in Ceyeh’s direction, his eyes watched for a hint of movement but he saw none.
As he stood a foot away, he saw that Ceyeh had fallen onto her face. The beautiful wings that he had admired so much were gone. Now, singed into her back were fresh burn marks that resembled ice crystals. Agust drew closer and kneeled at Ceyeh’s side, her wings had melted into her skin as they protected her. From the lack of blood and movement, Agust knew that Ceyeh had died before she hit the ground. His eyes stung as they blurred with more tears and he carefully rolled Ceyeh onto her back.
He had seen countless dead bodies, he knew the horrors of war, and yet the sight of his lover, the one he killed with his own two hands… Agust dry heaved. Fat tears poured down his face and he cradled Ceyeh’s lifeless body to his chest. Her blood stained his hands, his chest, his pants. He bent forwards and pressed his lips to Ceyeh’s forehead before he closed her eyes and scooped her into his arms. Agust rose slowly to his feet and carried Ceyeh through the flames that grew around them.

Humans, dragons, lightning birds, and firebirds alike all froze when they saw the sight of the mighty Agust carrying a body in his arms. The birdfolk knew who it was and they all dropped to their knees in tears. The dragons roared in mass agony at the loss of what they called a soulmate. The one soul in the whole world that reflects yours, a balance of light and dark. One could not be without the other. Agust carried Ceyeh all the way to their shared nest and laid her in the center. He crossed her arms over her chest and placed one final kiss to her cold lips.
Pire, the leader of the firebirds, appeared outside of Agust’s nest. The elder was a tall and narrow slip of a man. Withered with age yet strong from decades of battles and knowledge. He climbed into the nest and sat beside Agust silently as he studied the lifeless form of Ceyeh. Her throat had been ripped out and he could smell the stench of burned feathers and skin. He sighed heavily as his eyes flushed with tears.
“You are not welcome in this land. I banish you and your kind from henceforth.”
Agust didn’t fight against his punishment, he had let his anger get the better of himself, he had lost control. He had felt so betrayed and the anger in his heart had turned it black. He should have listened to what Ceyeh had tried to say.
“I cannot bring her back, you have killed her.”
Pire placed a hand on Ceyeh’s face and smoothed her braids from her dull eyes with a frown.
“I will grant her final wish…”
Pire slid his hand to Ceyeh’s forehead and closed his eyes. The tears in his eyes slid down his face and dripped onto his robes. His hand had started to glow a pale yellow-red. The color of a starting flame. The light grew brighter and brighter and slowly spread from Pire’s whole body as it covered Ceyeh’s. Agust fought to keep his eyes open but the light was too bright. He closed his eyes and a moment later a tiny chirp was heard.
Agust opened his eyes and Pire was no longer in his human form nor was he a full grown firebird. In his place a tiny yellow chick with red ombre wings rested on Ceyeh’s chest and flapped its wings. Another firebird appeared, Dagan, younger than Pire before he turned younger. Agust stared at the chick confused.
“What was her final wish?”
Dagan picked Pire up and cradled the tiny chick to its chest. “To meet you again in another life.”
Agust’s eyes felt like they were made of fire from the tears he cried once again. Agust wiped at his face and nodded his head. Dragons were not immortale. They lived and died, unlike the firebirds, a phoenix, the humans later came to call them. Agust looked to Dagan beside him, he wanted to ask a favor but he knew he would receive no help from those he hurt.
The chick chirped away in the Dagan’s hand and the young firebird spoke up once more.
“Pire says our fates are intertwined by a red string. As the world falls into place around us, your story will continue to be told. This is not the end…that is his promise to you.”
Agust rose to his feet, placed his hand over his heart and bowed his head. He cast one last look at Ceyeh’s body and roared, a call to all the dragons to leave the land that would later be known as Escistan.
“Nitakupata tena, mwezi wangu."
Agust watched as Ceyeh stepped towards the water’s edge and peeled the ruined clothing from her body. She stood before him, nude in a body that wasn’t her own and Agust felt the Prince as he stirred in his mind. He was silent as Ceyeh stepped down into the heated water, submerging everything except her shoulders and head.
The pale silver of Ceyeh’s eyes reflected off the water’s surface, and Agust blinked slowly. Was it truly Ceyeh’s reflection or the moon’s? She stared at him in silence. She raised a hand and water droplets fell back into the pool before she tilted her head in a silent question. Agust carefully removed his clothing and joined Ceyeh in the heated water. His body relaxed from the warm temperature as the chill of the rain slowly faded little by little.
“Ceyeh,” Agust’s voice was shattered glass, rough and sharp but he swallowed and tried again. “My moon…”
Ceyeh watched as Agust got closer to her, the sight of the cut on his face made her wince. The young prince had such a handsome face. She thought that it was lucky that the scar wouldn’t take away from his beauty, but added to it. It would harden his soft features and strike fear into those who looked upon him. She reached out and cupped Agust’s face with wet hands, her thumbs brushed away the blood and dye, and soothed the tender skin.
Healing waters, that is what the runes turned the pool into, and yet Agust wondered if the Princeling even knew. He was sure that the gardener knew, but he pushed that thought from his mind. Agust focused on the way Ceyeh’s hands touched him, gently, slowly…lovingly. He leaned into the caress, one he had missed the moment he lost it, and purred loudly.
He guided Ceyeh to the water’s edge and sat on the steps with her in between his legs. His arms wound themselves around her hips and he pulled her closer. His face smushed into her bare chest and Ceyeh flinched. Her body tensed and Agust purred louder as his fingers slid up and down the skin of Ceyeh’s hips.
“I have wronged you and yet you still care for me?”
Agust inhaled deeply as smooth honey coated his mind and ripening tangerine trickled down his throat. His mind slowly grew quiet, crickets played their song and night birds sung along. His body felt heavy as he started to float in the water, held in place by Ceyeh’s caring hands.
In the palace courtyard, Hoseok and Aga stared at the sky as the rain slowed to a gentle drizzle. The clouds lost their darkened grey hue and glided through the sky in wispy white stokes. The lightest of colors against the darkened night. There high above all, the moon held its place among the stars. A glowing reminder that the young royals were still unaccounted for.
Hoseok’s eyes lost the spark that swirled in his iris like twisted flames and Aga leaned against one of the support beams of an arch way with his arms crossed over his chest. He knew that the young royals were safe by the way the rain came and went. He worried that they could be hurt but he trusted Ceyeh to keep Keena safe, and he knew that if it came to life or death, Agust would protect the Prince at all costs.
“We have to tell them,” Hoseok sighed as he kicked at a pebble in front of him.
Aga agreed with Hoseok, but he knew that the young ones needed time to figure something out. The air was charged with a power that he had not felt in quite some time. The tides were changing and Aga couldn’t tell if that was for the best or not. Hoseok groaned as he rolled his shoulders and looked back at the moon.
“There is only one place we have not looked.”
Hoseok whistled and Ussik, the black eagle, flew down from above shortly after. Aga stared at the bird as it cocked its head to the side and nodded impressed.
“The Min Empire continues to show its strength it seems.”
Hoseok raised an eyebrow confused by Aga’s words.
“Black eagles are extremely hard to tame. They have a warrior’s heart and usually don’t do well working with anyone who doesn’t possess a bird spirit.” Aga explained slowly with a blank expression on his face. Hoseok nodded his head to show that he understood and turned his attention to the Ussik.
“Find Yoongi and Keena. Report back to me straight away.” He spared a glance at Aga and quickly added. “Make sure no one sees you.”
Ussik took off and soared through the air silently. Beady onyx eyes scanned the landscape of the palace grounds and listened for the familiar vibrations of the Prince and Princess. The sound of muffled tones caught Ussik’s attention and the bird flew over the seventh garden. The treetops were dense, sprinkled with shimmering drops of rain that glittered in the moonlight. Ussik slipped through the leaves and landed on a branch three yards away from the Prince and Princess.
The black eagle easily blended into the shadows, its eyes seemed nothing more than two bugs stuck on the bark. Below, the young royals stood face to face, the Prince had the Princess caged between himself and the stone wall, their forms distorted by the waterfall.
Ceyeh had tried to get away from Agust, his grip had become too tight, his face too close to her throat. He had scared her and as she ran, he trapped her beneath the waterwall. The water was deeper here but a single stone bench allowed for both of them to stand on their feet.
Agust had a hand wrapped around Ceyeh’s throat, the grip wasn’t threatening, lighter than he would hold anyone else’s; this thumb resting on her chin. Ceyeh scowled at him, her eyes misty pools of thickening fog. Their noses touched as Agust leaned in closer. His eyes flickered down to Ceyeh’s lips and she flashed her blunt teeth. A silent warning that made Agust’s lips quirk up into a half smirk as he huffed out an amused snort.
The cut on his eye wasn’t fully healed, pink and raw, but it no longer bled, and the pain had faded to a dull heartbeat. Easily ignored with the woman he loved in front of him. Agust loosened his hold even more, his hand slipped and he held both hands up in the air in surrender. The way Agust’s obsidian eyes softened slightly was enough for Ceyeh’s body to untense. The feathers that lined her ears bristled and Agust licked his lips, his fangs gleamed ever so slightly.
“You hate me that much?” Agust mused as he stared at Ceyeh. “Would ripping my throat out make you happy, my moon?” Agust bared his neck in all its smooth and unblemished glory. “My life is yours to do what you would please.”
Ussik observed silently for a moment longer before it flew off to find Hoseok. Ceyeh stared at the unprotected area. How easily Agust had offered his life, it made sparks sizzle in Ceyeh’s eyes. Lightning struck down one of the trees with the seventh garden. Smoke rose into the sky quickly and Agust lowered his head. They stared at each other in silence. Neither one made a move until Agust’s eyes fell to Ceyeh’s lips once more.
He moved slowly as he reached for her face with both hands. She didn’t flinch, only blinked owlishly. Agust’s forehead rested against hers, his words were his final warning.
“Kill me.”
Ceyeh’s own hands grabbed at Agust’s shoulders and he braced himself for death but it never came. Cool lips pressed into his, smooth, and soft. An April shower filled his heart and washed away any doubt in his mind. Ceyeh had still loved him even when he didn’t deserve an ounce of it. Agust dropped an arm to Ceyeh’s waist and pressed her farther into the stone wall. The kiss grew hotter. A desert with a single oasis hidden within many mirages. All optical illusions that Agust’s mind had made up.
Agust nipped at Ceyeh’s bottom lip as he requested permission to taste her. As her lips parted, Agust growled deep in his chest, the vibrations made goosebumps appear on Ceyeh’s arms. Agust was drowning. He drowned in the first rain of the spring, the first snow of winter; that first scoop of sweet and gooey honey. Agust’s body burned with the simmering fire that laid dormant for how long? The two horns at the center of his forehead started to grow outward and he groaned as he pressed into Ceyeh’s soft body more.
The plushness of her thighs called him home, he lifted her wordlessly and she gasped as her ankles locked behind his back; a habit from their past. The heat between her legs was maddening, Agust wanted to take and take and take as much as he wanted to give. He pulled away from Ceyeh’s lips and moved towards her neck, he needed to smell her as the scent of her arousal was washed away by the water around them.
Ceyeh tried to speak. Her lips parted but no sound came as Agust’s teeth nipped at the sensitive skin of her throat. She shoved at his chest, as tears blurred her vision, the past was too close in the forefront of her mind. Her throat throbbed, searing pain made her whine and Agust pulled away at the sound of distress. His chest heaved, his eyes liquid gold as he nosed at her chin. Bitter tangerines, long forgotten in the sun burned his nose and Agust growled. Ceyeh was scared of him. Ceyeh pushed him away sharply and shook her head as he released her.
“N-No! N-Noooo!”
The words were choked, whispered out harshly as Ceyeh forced herself to use vocal cords for the first time in all of her three reincarnations. Agust froze, the voice was the Princess’ but it was sharper, a hard shelled candy with a nutty filling. A voice that was both the Princess’ and Ceyeh’s mixed together. A sound that Agust felt himself submit to easily. He backed away from Ceyeh and kept his hands where she could see them. His clawed fingers twitched as Ceyeh wrapped her arms around herself, seemingly holding everything together all alone.
Agust wanted to hold her tightly, assure her that everything would be okay, but as the smoke from the struck tree grew thicker, Agust knew their time together was short.
“Come,” Agust held out his hand and looked towards the water’s edge. “The guards will be here soon and I’d rather not slaughter those that the little royals are so fond of.”
The critical look that Ceyeh gave Agust made his shoulders ease and a smile pulled at his lips. Ceyeh placed her hand in his and he wrapped his fingers around hers tightly.
“I have had quite some time to think about my misdeeds,” Agust spoke as he led Ceyeh to the edge of the water. “I would like a moment of yours if you would grant it so?”
From behind, Ceyeh took in the expanse of Agust’s back. His shoulders were wide and thick, the muscles that twitched under the skin made Ceyeh bite the inside of her bottom lip. Agust had always been strong, but here in Prince Yoongi’s body, his strength wasn’t clearly seen nor was it shown off. The large black dragon tattoo that covered his back was intimidating, and from how the Prince acted, Ceyeh wondered if it was Agust who craved the bold design. Agust lifted himself out of the water just in time to see Hoseok and Aga break through the bushes.
“That is far enough!” Agust hissed, golden eyes reflecting the flames of the fire on the tree.
“Give me your shirt, bird of fire.”
Hoseok’s brows were furrowed in concern the moment he saw the Prince’s face. His right eye looked damaged and Hoseok feared that it was worse than it looked. He took note of the way the Prince’s hair was dyed and cut short with some blond peeking through…he would have a few choice words with Prince Yoongi once he regained his control.
It was clear to see that Agust had shifted, patches of black scales covered his body, his horns were fully formed, and he spoke with that unsettling snake-like lisp. From the silence that came from behind him, it was safe to assume that the Ceyeh was present as well.
Aga dropped to one knee with his hand over his heart and bowed his head, “Mighty Impundulu have you been-”
Agust bristled at the show of respect and narrowed his eyes.
“Your shirt,” he repeated as he crossed his arms over his chest. He looked Aga up and down before he licked his lips in thought.
“What right do you assume you have to gaze at my moon? Off with your shirt as well.”
Aga removed his shirt without a second thought and threw it to Agust while Hoseok frowned. It was still lightly raining and he really did not want to let the cool water touch the rest of the body. He had just put on a dry cape. As Aga rose to his feet, he raised an eyebrow in Hoseok's direction and Hoseok sucked his teeth. Wordlessly, he removed his cape but kept his shirt on before he tossed it to Agust.
Agust turned his back on the men in the clearing and focused on Ceyeh. He lifted her out of the water and used the cape to dry her off before he carefully dressed her in Aga’s shirt. It was big enough to fall past her thighs and Agust nodded his head in approval. He wrapped the black cape around his waist wordlessly. It was damp from the rain and drying Ceyeh, but better than his wet and bloody clothes.
Aga watched as Ceyeh hugged Agust around the waist and nuzzled into his chest. Agust stroked a hand over her hair and lifted her face upward by her chin. He spoke softly enough for Aga and Hoseok not to hear his words before he leaned down and pressed his lips to hers.
Hoseok gasped and Aga’s jaw clenched. Aga knew there was history between them and that at some point in time the two had been happy with each other. To see Ceyeh willingly kiss Agust was disturbing, but with how the Prince’s face looked, Aga was sure that the flame they once had reignited over shared trauma.
Ceyeh left Agust’s side and walked right over to Hoseok, she motioned to her eye and Hoseok nodded his head. He knew that the Prince would need medical attention right away. Turning her attention to Aga, Ceyeh walked over the guard and he wordlessly lifted her into his arms bridal style. Agust hissed, fangs flashing and ready to strike, but Ceyeh threw him a look that screamed behave, and he settled. Aga left the seventh garden with the Princess and went right into the palace.
Hoseok stood with Agust and rubbed a hand over his face, “Are you going to behave?”
“Have I not killed you yet, fire bird?”
Hoseok rolled his eyes and folded his arms over his chest, “What happened tonight?”
“It seems that the rat you spoke of has a pack.”
Hoseok’s eyes hardened and his jaw ticked, “We will discuss this later inside…for now, I need the Prince immediately.”
“Something happened while we were away.”
It was a statement, one that Hoseok very much wished he could deny. For the first time in a long while Agust felt…well it did not matter what he felt. Whatever had happened while the foolish Princeling had snuck out had nothing to do with him.
“The Little Prince cannot handle this pain. Fetch the doctor and meet me at the Princeling’s chambers. I will protect him for now.”
Hoseok was weary of Agust’s mocking words, but he didn’t have much choice. He needed Yoongi to come back to his senses and fast. Hoseok nodded his head and whistled loudly for Ussik. Once the eagle was on his shoulder, he relayed the message for Hyungwon and sent the bird off into the night.
Before they left the seventh garden, Hoseok placed his hand on the flaming tree and absorbed the flames. His eyes twirled alight with the new flames and he frowned at the sight of the charred tree. He wondered how long it would take for Namjoon to notice.
As they left the seventh garden, Hoseok crushed a starstone in his hand and blew it onto Agust before he led the way to the Prince’s chambers unseen. He politely declined any conversation with others as he made his way into the palace and Agust thought it strange. What had happened while the Princeling was frolicking about in the night? Once inside the Prince’s chambers, Agust headed right to the washroom and Hoseok followed behind him. Agust stripped himself of the cape and stepped into the hot water with a sigh.
He sat on one of the stone benches and rested his arms on the edge of the bath. His head fell back and he closed his eyes as the scent of lavender and teakwood filled his lungs. His body appeared as the starstone washed away. The horns in the center of his head start to shrink and his scales fade little by little. The points of his claws shortened into rounded blunt nails, the black gone from his fingertips.
Agust was tired. It had been quite a while since he last fought to the death, and he would not admit it to anyone, but his skills were lacking. The world had evolved around him, those who were weak were now able to stand toe to toe with the stronger warriors. Magical weapons gave power to those who didn’t deserve it nor need it. Agust thought back to how the Princess was able to be captured and he growled, his head shooting up as his irises twisted with something wicked.
“I think it’s time for an execution.”
“That is not your call to make, Agust.”
Hoseok sat at the edge of the large tub and dunked a dried washcloth into the water. He had a plan to get the Prince’s body clean and back to the way it should look. First was to wash out the remaining dye used to color his hair black. Once that was taken care of, Hoseok would scrub the Prince’s body nearly raw before he had Hyungwon come to take a look at the cut on his eye.
“Keep your eyes closed.” Hoseok ordered before he folded the wet washcloth and placed it at Agust’s hairline. He grabbed a small bowl and filled it with water before he poured it over Agust’s hair. Two times he did that before he started to scrub at the scalp and strands to remove the dark coloring. As more and more of the blond started to show, Hoseok saw that the Prince’s hair had been poorly cut.
“Who did this to Yoongi’s hair?”
“Bandits,” Agust hissed, his eyes still closed as he allowed Hoseok to wash his hair. “Chopped it clean off with a dagger while the boy was fading. He wouldn’t relinquish control and fought me.”
Hoseok made a noise in the back of his throat in response. Bandits did all of this? His mind went over a list of who he thought was the rat inside the palace and he shook his head. He would make no judgment until all the facts were laid out. Once all the black color was out of Agust’s hair, Hoseok started to wash his body.
“It’s a pity the Min’s are born with blond hair. I quite liked having my natural color back.”
“You had black hair?”
Agust hummed with a slight nod of his head, “Long black hair. Ceyeh made it her duty to style it anyway she pleased when we were younger.”
Hoseok took a moment to think over his next words before he spoke, watching as the small horns that lined Agust’s eyes retracted back into the skin. Most of the scales were now gone and Hsoeok wondered why Agust was giving up control so easily.
“You never share information about your past.”
“What is there to share? I lived and I died, five times now. I have found my soulmate in this life and those before me have granted me a chance to atone for my misdoing.” Agust sighed and peaked open his left eye. “Everything else is meaningless.”
Hoseok opened his mouth to counter Agust’s words, but Hyungwon bursted into the bathing room with his medical supplies floating behind him. His face was flushed and he was panting. He clearly ran all the way here and Agust raised an eyebrow at the good doctor.
“I-I-” Hyungwon folded over in half and inhaled deeply before he straightened up and exhaled. “I have come as requested.”
Now that Hyungwon had gathered himself, his eyes widened at the sight of the Prince’s face.
“Your Highness!!”
“Easy, Hyungwon,” Hoseok warned as the doctor hurried over to the bath. “The floor is wet and His Highness isn’t fully with us…”
Hyungwon froze at those words and he looked at the Prince. He saw it now, the difference in those golden eyes. Even when the Prince got angry and his eyes shifted colors, they never held such ire and turmoil. Agust was in control, and with how the Prince’s eye looked, Hyungwon was thankful.
“Forgive me, Agust. I didn’t realize it was you.” Hyungwon bowed his head deeply and lowered himself to the floor. “May I treat the wound?”
Agust grunted and waved for Hyunwon to move closer. The doctor took his time as he examined the damaged area. The cut was deep enough to scar, that much was clear, and when Agust closed his eyes, the lid was thankfully missed. However, upon further inspection, Hyungwon gulped.
“I-It seems that some first aid has already been applied and in this case, I am thankful. The cut looks to be an inch in depth, though since the area is partly healed, it is hard to tell. The lid is still intact and with a regrowth serum the eyebrow’s hair can go back to normal.”
Hyungwon licked his lips and rubbed the back of his neck before he spoke again.“My greatest concern at this moment is the eyeball itself. There are signs of trauma and I fear that His Highness’ sight may be affected.”
“His sight?” Hoseok repeated, his face horror stricken.
“Agust will you allow His Highness to join us? I need to see the full extent of the injury.”
“I will be near if you so need me,” Agust informed Hoseok before the Prince’s body went limp.
Hoseok and Hyungwon were quick to grab the Prince by his armpits and pulled him out of the water. Laid out on the floor, Hyungwon reached into his bag and pulled out a small bottle of smelling salt. They didn’t have time to wait for the Prince to wake up, and Hoseok understood that. He held Prince Yoongi down by his shoulders and nodded his head for Hyungwon to wake him up. Hyungwon swiped the bottle underneath the Prince’s nose and by the third swipe, Prince Yoongi woke with a choked gasp.
“Easy! Easy, Your Highness!” Hyungwon ordered softly and Hoseok applied light presses to his shoulders to keep him down.
“You are safe, Yoongi.” Hoseok spoke with a tight smile.
Prince Yoongi groaned with a wince. His whole body hurt, it felt like a whole herd of horses had trampled him. His vision faded and blurred like he had just come up face first from the sea. He blinked a few times, and as his vision cleared in his left eye, Prince Yoongi’s pulse started to race when no images cleared in his right eye.
“...Yoongi?” Hoseok’s voice was on edge, his grip on his shoulders tightened and Yoongi started to sweat.
His stomach swooped and tumbled as he tried his hardest to focus but nothing changed. Something was wrong, and Prince Yoongi was hit with a wave of nausea as he recalled the events of the night. They were attacked, ambushed! And—
“The Princess!” Yoongi pushed Hoseok away from him and sat up, nearly crashing his head into Hyungwon’s chin, who was dabbing at his face with a damp cotton ball.
“She is safe. Yoongi, Princess Keena is safe.” Hoseok reassured his friend as he forced him to lay down once again. “Aga and the other guards are with her. She is safe, I promise.”
Yoongi groaned as Hyungwon pressed a cold cream against his right cheek. It stung as much as it soothed the burning skin. Yoongi tried to focus on the doctor but he couldn’t see him clearly. Hyungwon’s image was distorted, an opaque film thrown over him and scribbled over with a gray and black hue. A faded shadow with diffused edges and unclear shapes. Even the coloring was off, muted at best if Prince Yoongi had to describe it. It reminded him of the time he got muze dust in his eyes and everything was fuzzy for two days.
“Your Highness?” Hyungwon pulled him from his thoughts and nodded to Hoseok. “Let’s get you up now, slowly.”
Hoseok and Hyungwon carefully supported the Prince’s back and helped him sit upright before Hyungwon pulled back a little.
“Your Highness…how many fingers am I holding up?”
The Prince starred in Hyungwon’s direction and licked his lips, “Four.”
“Very good, Your Highness. Now please cover your left eye.”
The Prince covered his left eye, Hyungwon’s figure was clear as day and he stared at the two fingers in front of him, “Two.”
“Good. Now your right eye, carefully.”
The Prince switched to the right eye and flinched as the skin of his palm brushed against his cheek. He frowned. Hyungwon’s figure was-
“Your Highness?”
Prince Yoongi blinked hard, four times as he tried to clear his vision. His pulse rushed in his ears and he struggled to answer the simple question.
“Yoongi?” Hoseok’s voice was strained as he watched tears collect at the corners of his friend’s eyes.
“I-I can’t…I can’t—”
The hand that covered the Prince’s right eye fell into his lap and he shook his head. He refused to meet Hoseok or Hyungwon’s gaze. The two shared a look with each other and Hoseok nodded his head, his face blank as he patted the Prince’s shoulders.
“Okay. We can take care of it, Yoongi.”
“Yes, I will not give up, Your Highness. I will find a way to gain your sight back.” Hyungwon promised, and the Prince nodded his head.
He started to rise, and Hoseok was quick to help Prince Yoongi to his feet. Hyungwon handed the Prince a towel and the three of them headed into his sleeping chambers. Hoseok left the Prince’s side and grabbed a black cross wrap v-neck shirt, the material was light and breathable with a pair of matching sleep pants that fit loosely around the legs for him to settle into.
Once the Prince was dressed with a blended black silk robe with butterfly sleeves and golden waves pattern over top to keep warm, he sat with a cup of tea in his hands, now in the sitting room. Hoseok sat across from him on the smaller couch and ran a hand through his hair.
“Yoongi?”
“Say whatever has been on your tongue, Hoseok.”
The Prince’s face was paler, his right eye wrapped in clean white bandages and his hair hung around his ears messily. Hyungwon had started to comb the Prince’s hair, the strands pushed back and out of his face before he bowed and left.
Hoseok sighed and scrubbed a hand down his face before he looked at his dear childhood friend.
“Your mother has requested an audience with you and the Princess.”
“Can it not wait until tomorrow?”
“If you had been within the palace, you would have heard the news by now.”
“Hoseok, please. I do not have the patience for your word games. What has happened in my absence? Why has mother requested an audience at such an hour?”
Hoseok raised to his feet and stared at his friend, his face pinched as the words left his lips in a rattled croak.
“T-The Emperor…he is ill.”

I was so happy when I saw that your requests were opened and now I have an idea !
How would each brother and/or datesble react to an MC that used to party like crazy in the human world, I am talking about your perfect teenage party life in those movies ,making out with friends ,funny pictures of you and your girlies chilling in the bathroom ,passing out and all that stuff (the brothers maybe fond out through the MC showing some pictures and explaining tge backstop behind each picture for example)
Omy goodness I hope this request is the slightest bit clear to understand, I am sorry ,and pls don't feel pressured your writings are awesome
Hello! it's clear to me, don't worry. I hope you like it!
the obey me cast with a former party enjoyer mc
mc's gender is not mentioned, not proof read
important note: I feel like this has to be said as somebody who sometimes attends parties and bars, when you attend a party please stay safe and be responsible. Have plans for what to do in case something bad happens and don't do anything that could get you into (legal) trouble. Of course don't touch alcohol if you cannot drink in your country and when you can, be responsible about it. A party is not like it is in a movie.
content warnings: (wild) party stuff (I kept it vague), casinos, implied alcohol use (???), me having no idea how to write for barbatos and belphie and solomon kind of
-----
Lucifer
you and lucifer were at dinner and the topic of you and your early college days just came up
when you showed lucifer the pictures his first thought was he's glad you've evolved (for the better in his eyes)
lucifer also warns you to never go to parties with mammon and/or asmo if you're over that kind of stuff
part of him wonders what it was like though
Mammon
mammon frequents 'wild' parties, especially after winning big amounts of grimm at the casino
he always wondered how you got so much good advice on certain situations related to said parties, now that you told him you're a former seasoned party attendee it makes sense
mammon wants to take you to a party but maybe you're over them
Leviathan
levi never would have guessed, and now he's a little afraid of you because he doesn't like party animals
but you're close so he forgets about the shock soon enough
when you tell him stories about your average campus party at 3 in the morning he says stuff like 'this is why I hate normies'
followed by '...not you, mc' (he's embarrassed)
Satan
he was reading you a book and the main character went to a party so you just told satan about your own party phase
at first he was like 'yeah we all had our phases' but when you showed him pictures from the parties he wonders how you and your friends got a rolls royce in a lecture hall (he wants to know so he can get cars in lucifer's office)
overall, satan doesn't really have a strong opinion on your party phase, as long as you stayed safe
Asmodeus
asmo himself has seen, heard and lived through stuff so nothing you tell him and nothing in your pictures can surprise him
not even the picture of the car in the middle of the lecture hall
he thinks this information is amazing, he's lowkey upset you didn't tell him sooner
if you're up for it he'll take you to one more party
Beelzebub
he's worried for past you when he hears the stories, but luckily you were fine
and he's both scared and lowkey impressed at some of the pictures you show him, how did you get some stuff to happen?
also pictures of the food hurt to look at, your average college party buffet is not a five star place (he still wants to eat it though)
beel is kind of relieved when you confirm you're over this phase in your life
Belphegor
every time diavolo holds a party lucifer basically has to drag him over there so he has no idea why some people actually enjoy parties
the pictures don't surprise him either honestly, he's seen the pictures asmo posts on devilgram during the parties it can't get crazier than that
he does wonder how it was, but he'd never actually want to experience it
Diavolo
when you said you used to love parties he thought you meant ballroom dances and fancy dinners
not 21st birthday celebration-like scenarios
he is impressed though, he goes like 'splendid, so this is how you party in the human world'
but honestly seeing the pictures did make him feel a bit worried
Barbatos
he has been dragged to the fall too many times to his liking by solomon and/or asmo and he kind of hated it every time
so when you tell him you're over the phase he's relieved for you
when he looks at the pictures you show him, his expression remains calm and peaceful
but if you look closely into his eyes there's confusion, worry and a hint of judgement
Simeon
he's happy for you because well you had fun and you were safe, even when he might not completely approve of your former behavior
when you show him the picture he chuckles and tells you to never show these images to luke, he'll shamelessly judge and roast you
he'd like to hear more of your stories sometime, he can laugh along with you to some of them (others are too surprising or worrying)
Luke
you were talking about this to somebody else about the lecture hall car and he overheard
so now luke has gone full chihuahua mode because of your story
'why is there a car in the classroom? the classroom is for learning! I expected this from demons but you?!'
he calms down when you tell him you think it's not very smart too and you've outgrown all of this
Solomon
he just laughs, he thinks it's the funniest thing he's heard and seen all week
but on a serious note, he's super glad things never went extremely wrong
at some point he's actually crying on the floor because of the story from when you attended a beach party where everyone had to be dressed like a shark
and honestly that's a rare sight

Platonic!Ortho Shroud (medusa!Reader x nonhuman!Ortho)
genre: hurt to happy ending(?), budding friendship
note: while medusa is typically female, no pronouns or gender is mentioned in the story, alternative tellings of mythology exist so this interpretation of medusa came from my research that may differ from your knowledge of it.
summary: You were cursed to exist as history’s most hated woman. Your gaze leaves all living beings petrified but all you wished to feel the loving embrace of another once more

“For your crimes against the gods, you are to be punished dearly for your actions. Walk eternally upon this Earth as the monster you are!”
How were you a monster, though? You lived a pure and diligent child of the Earth before your crime of refusing the gods. You weep at the injustice of your fate, rejected by society and forced into isolation unless you choose to bring death to those close to you.
The abandoned ruins you call your home was silent aside from the hisses of your snakes as the coil and sway around your head. You walk sadly between the statues of men, women, and even children who had the misfortune of coming across your abode.
Despite your encounters with such humans, you miss the warmth of another living being. Sometimes you feel satisfied with the animals of the forest keeping you company but few were brave enough to approach with your living snakes as hair. You crave the company of another, someone who you could share stories with and they could share back. But, you suppose that this is the life of the cursed.
Until someone curious came to your home.
“Hello there, are you alright?”
You were startled by the voice of a young child, bright and innocent as a newborn calf. You look away from the direction of the voice and warn the child.
“Leave this place if you want to live. This is my last warning”
“I can sense you are sad, though” the boy states as you could hear his footsteps creeping closer “could I be of help?”
“Please, child” you start to beg “Leave me be, for your own safet-“
A pair of eyes as bright as the stars pop in front of you which startles you as you pull back, twisting your sight to the ground beside you.
“Fool!”
You saw his eyes, which meant he saw yours.
A sense of guilt grips your heart as you cause another lost soul their untimely death. No matter the number of statues that accumulate in your ruins, it doesn’t get easier.
“Are you sure you’re alright?”
You flinch. You were never sure if the statues still maintained their consciousness but they still wouldn’t talk. You then felt minor movements near you which shocked you.
“Child…are you still alive?” You hesitantly ask, perhaps the loneliness has finally gotten to you.
“How rude!” The voice answers back. “My brother has built me to withstand the forces of nature!”
“Your brother built you?” Your brain processes the information “So…you are not human?”
“Hmm, my brother doesn’t say. Just that I am his brother and that is all that matters”
This child sounded so sweet and caring towards his brother and judging by how he still refuses to leave you, he was kind even to strangers...even to you. You ask the mysterious child another question.
“Do you not fear me, child?” The chilling hisses of your hair accompany your inquiry.
“I find them fascinating, really” he joyfully said with such sincerity that no man has done so in such a long time. “Plus, you have not try to hurt me. Why should I fear you?”
It has been so long since you had a conversation with someone. Especially not someone without prejudice over your appearance. You weep loudly for a new reason than earlier which alarms the confused child.
“Oh no, you are crying again!” You could feel the air shift around the boy indicating he is looking around in a panic. “I see no injuries. Are you hurting inside?”
You had trepidation but you decided to try something. Slowly, you lifted your gaze towards the owner of the voice. Fearful, you finally lock eyes with the same starry eyes you caught a glimpse before, confirming your previous interaction with him.
There, standing in front of you in the flesh (for all you know). You noticed the soft features of the child that has yet to gray or solidify like many others. He tilted his head and brought his small hand to his lips in an inquisitive manner, something you found amazing and adorable.
“Did something happen for you to cry?”
You chuckled through your tears, smiling at this miracle that found you.
“No, nothing happened. And I’m so happy”

Sitting at my alter, I breathed evenly with my eyes closed. I had spent the better part of the afternoon praying and meditating. I would need energy tonight, as I had with every previous trip to Bangtan, but moral support from the Gods would be necessary for a successful mating ritual. Opening my eyes, I looked at the grimoire in my lap and sighed. Sol would be presenting tonight, and the pack would know who their head alpha will be. I felt my heart clench but fought through the discomfort to read.
I had been lucky enough to receive the Grand Witch’s grimoires after he passed on. They had proven most helpful. I soaked in the words he wrote, the step-by-step instructions for each part of the ritual, and most importantly- the parts where I was to leave the circle as quickly as possible. Having never aided a Luna through her mating ritual before, I was appreciative of the guidance and wisdom his books taught me.
My cottage was silent. Shiloh was sleeping in her bed and none of my friends had come by. Everyone was making themselves scarce. While I appreciated the sentiment, and it was helping me to stay focused, I was not enjoying the emptiness. My mind wandered too often, and it was becoming increasingly more distracting.
I had stopped pretending my feelings were not hurt a few days ago. I was mourning Jimin before anything was decided, my adoration and love making it physically impossible to be happy for him or anybody else. Now with only a few hours left, I was growing sick with worry and selfishly hoped Namjoon would be picked instead. Even if I would never have Jimin I did not want him with anyone else. Feeling a new set of tears filling my eyes, I roughly wiped them away before closing the grimoire.
Standing, I looked around my home desperately. I did not want to sew anymore, I had done it all week, and had grown bored of it. Wood carving would be fun but tiring. The same could be said for blacksmithing a blade. I would also wake Shiloh and I knew she needed her rest. Then my eyes landed on the large, red carpet in the living room.
Slowly, I lowered onto my hands and knees before lifting the only corner not obstructed by furniture. The large black, cast-iron handle stared back at me as did the bear carvings I had dug into the door’s wood many years ago. I ran my finger along the fading lines and sighed. I had done something similar before the fire. Aldara was furious with me, and yet it had taken her mere minutes to join me. I thought about the missing animals for months after she was gone, staring at the empty floor only solidifying my loneliness, and in a desperate attempt for relief I had started carving bears again. I only got three done before I broke down into tears. I had never tried it again.
Feeling inspired, I pulled a knife from my belt and began carving. My hands moved easily now, none of my lines crooked or hesitant. Unlike my old drawings, these would never fade. Before I had even realized it, I had carved a wolf’s head and groaned. This was not working.
I slid my little knife back into its holder and lifted the little basement door. My furniture shuffled and dragged but with a flick of my hand everything was back in its proper place. Looking back at the door, my heart broke when I saw the violent stabs in the wood. It was days after the fire, and I had locked myself in the basement. It was the only place left to sleep. Yoongi, Seokjin, and Wendy had come to help fix things along with their parents. After treating all of them horribly, I locked myself away and destroyed many things. The door was almost another casualty.
“Ignis,” I called out and a flame sprouted from my index finger.
Using the small ladder attached to the floor, I lowered myself into the dark room. The flame floated around aimlessly with little energy in its movements. I remembered a time when my magic danced and sang brightly and was saddened. Once I reached the bottom of the steps, I reached out and stroked the flame. It shied away from me before growing larger. Sighing, I squared my shoulders and focused.
“Lampas.”
The flame shot out, its body exploding in multiple different directions. On the walls were candle holders and they all lit up brilliantly. The flames flickered and danced normally. A memory from Yule years ago came to mind and I felt sad again. Back then, my flames did backflips and gymnastics vying for my attention. Now they were just as plain and boring as Aldara’s had been. She was right in the end. I did learn that magic was more serious than fun.
Down here is where all of the grimoires and books of Birdie's past were stored. It was the reason the room had been spared in the fire. Sixty years ago, Birdie North had placed a powerful protection spell on the room. None of the other Birdies were ever able to figure out how she did it or the way to reverse it. I had tried my hand at figuring it out when I was ten but gave up rather quickly. If Malorna, the 109th Birdie, and someone blessed with absolute intelligence, could not decipher how it happened then I was positive no one ever would.
Walking over to the large bookshelves across the small room, I ran my fingers along the spines and sighed. Even with all of the knowledge in the world at my fingertips I was clueless. What do you do when what you want is unattainable? Uselessly pine or pretend like you’re over it?
Aldara would say to find a middle ground and go from there. But what middle ground do you find in this situation? Especially since I know Jimin does not want to be Sol’s mate. That thought alone sent a thrill through my body. I felt embarrassed and ashamed of myself for it.
“Be patient,” A voice whispered into the quiet room.
I smiled sadly. The spirit gently caressed my body and held me close. I had grown used to their presence by now and tried to see if I could figure out who was visiting me today. It was much easier to do if I let them in but I was not in the space to allow that to happen. I had somewhere to be in a few hours and I could not miss it. The spirit ran her fingers through my hair.
“All will reveal itself in time.”
I swallowed thickly, “And if it is what I think it is?”
“You will survive it, little one,” The spirit replied warmly. It had to be Heidi and the thought made my tears well. While I appreciated her reassurance I wanted my auntie here instead. Aldara always knew exactly what to say. A choked sob slipped past my lips. “You are brave and strong. You have nothing to fear.”
But I had everything to fear. Watching Sol walk up to Jimin, her blindfold on tightly, and falling to her knees whimpering while he held her protectively. Well, that would be too much to bear. To see the man I love so desperately, irrevocably in love with someone else would surely be impossible to return from. I felt the gentle brushing of fingers on the back of my neck.
“I’m afraid,” I whispered.
“That’s what makes you brave,” They replied.
Drawing a breath, I nodded. Aldara always said that. It was more comforting if I thought about it like that. Still, I felt uneasy. Still, I knew I needed to study more. So, I sat on the floor and tried to clear my mind.
“Fluito,” I commanded, and a book went straight into the palm of my outstretched hand.
Tumblr media
I had decided to walk to the village today. The memory of the first time I saw Jimin had plagued me on my way out and I wanted to retrace our steps. We were both young, I was no more than 13, and had gotten lost during Yule. He had walked me back home. I wonder if he remembered it as vividly as I did, or did he put it in the back of his mind save for a rainy day? It was hard to say for sure. I smiled sadly when I spotted a rogue fairy circle. Gosh, I had been so afraid of the fae back then.
It was quiet tonight. Shiloh had gone off with Patto when I left. They wanted good seats for the ceremony. Morla was already there, I was sure of it, and the rest of the gossipers were more than likely chatting away. Seokjin was most likely sleeping already and Yoongi never cared about the pack’s affairs. I stuffed my hand into my cloak pocket and felt around until I felt the letter.
Wendy had written to me just before I had gone off and I did not have the chance to read it. It had been far too long since I had seen my friend. We wrote often, not as often as I would have liked but she was a busy witch, and stayed up to date on one another. In her last letter, she had said she was traveling to Northorn with her younger sister. Joy was meeting with a possible suitor and asked for her to join.
She had stopped visiting after a particularly bad argument with Jin. I did not know what it was about, or what had happened prior, but according to Patto it had been pretty nasty. When Shiloh gave me the gossip mill’s version of events, I took it with a grain of salt. However, the two parts that did make sense to me were jealousy and Yoongi. Jin was helplessly in love with Wendy, who I knew had similar feelings for him, but the kitchen witch was a roadblock. Wendy had a fascination with the man and Jin could never really get over it. They had not spoken since.
I heard rustling in nearby bushes and paused. Looking around my feet, I was sure I was paying attention to every detail around me. Readying myself for a fight, I began walking again. Slower this time. However, nothing came of it. After five minutes of waiting for whatever had moved to make an appearance, I grew bored and walked at my normal pace. The bushes never rustled again.
The walls of Bangtan were formidable. Tall and built with stone, it looked impenetrable. Just outside the walls of the city lay a small farm. I knew a human family lived there and worked those fields. While I never knew their names, I had heard they were friendly and gave travelers lodging in their spare house. Most humans were wary of wolves- especially anyone from the north.
On the other end of the wall was a small stream that led back into the ocean. Connected only by a bridge, the ceremonial cave sat. The town itself was quaint and beautiful. On the back, left end was the church that sat up on the hillside surrounded by trees and foliage. In the center of town was the market with homes and businesses lining the rest of the streets. The copiae stayed on the other end of the wall beside the stream. Foxglove was small but mighty and I adored it.
The streets were empty tonight. Everyone was either at the cave or locked away in their homes. The energy of the moon charged me and I knew I was about to have a hard road ahead of me. Even if Sol did not pick Jimin I would still be torn to pieces after putting my body through this. I wished toLilith, hoping for a healthy recovery and made my way to the cave.
The cave was silent despite the rows of people inside. The unmated wolves were already lined up and waiting for things to begin. The moon was still too low to bring the luna inside. I walked forward and began preparing myself for the ceremony.
Just as I had with every other ceremony, I cut my hair and changed my clothes. Today, the body paint would be done differently. After reading through the Grand Witch’s grimoire, I knew I had to show respect differently tonight. Getting in touch with my feminine side was crucial, and that involved white and soft lines.
I started with drawing two large circles around my eyes. Using a puddle of water in the cave to see my reflection, I then began to bring the outer edges down. The shape made my eyes look sad. I cut off the line at my jawline before fixing the top shape. I used my sockets for reference and began to fill in the area that connected my eye to my nose bridge. Afterwards, I made slightly curved lines that went up. They looked like moth wings and I felt happy. It was very similar to the pictures the Grand Witch had.
After drawing two little lines on my bottom lip and then a large one down my chin, I was satisfied. I looked gentler today than most. I then reached into my bag and took out crushed pearls and tapped it onto the high points of my face. In the grimoire it was an optional step but one that was looked upon favorably. Apparently, it made the pain lessen though not by much. I was happy I had some in the cupboards regardless.
I then began setting up my altar and made sure to keep my eyes on the moon. It was nearly time when I was finished. I did a quick cleansing spell to ward off any bad luck before announcing it was time. Everyone waited with baited breath.
I ran around the alphas to make a quick circle around them for when everything started. It would be impossible to do after. Sol was being escorted inside the moment I was back to my original place.
She was naked and blindfolded. Her dark, golden skin was covered in dark chocolate freckles. Even though I knew it was futile, I tried to give her some privacy by not letting my eyes wander too much. She was trembling and looked uneasy. I could only imagine the fear going through her right now. I did not let my eyes wander to the men standing before me. I could not become distracted.
Chief Ahn held Sol with tenderness. He had raised her once it was found that she was the Luna. No one was allowed to claim her as their child. After getting her to the center of the circle, he quickly made his way down. I looked up at the moon through a hole in the cave.
It was time.
I stepped away from the circle quickly. No one was to be too close. It could confuse Sol or send her into a frenzy. She, or her mate for that matter, very well could kill anyone who they saw as a threat. I did not want to take a chance.
Now away from the ceremony and watching on like everyone else, I let my eyes wander to the man I had been thinking about for weeks. Jimin looked stoic and resigned. I could imagine he was feeling nervous. He looked straight ahead and did not waver. I felt myself tearing up. No, I scolded. You cannot do this here.
Taking a deep breath, I calmed myself down enough to dismiss my tears. I could cry later. Right now, I would look at him as if he were mine until he was not. Until the air shifted and his eyes softened for the omega at his feet, I would watch him.
Sol suddenly lifted her face into the air and her trembling had become full on shaking. Her body fell to the floor as she cried out in pain. I watched with bated breath. It was happening. Taking a deep breath, I watched as she began to crawl.
My eyes went back to the alpha across the room. His hair glistened in the moonlight while his face was hidden in the shadows. A small breeze made his hair twirl. I heard Sol cry out and looked back at her.
She was in agony. I could see it all over her face. From my reading, I knew this was a hard moment for Sol. Her mate was right there and yet she had to seek him out with her senses alone. In a room filled with other alphas no less. Her small body continued to crawl towards her mate. My eyes went back to Jimin.
I was surprised when our eyes locked. The world around me stood still for a moment and I sucked in a deep breath. He looked so… frightened. Of what, I did not know, but he trusted me enough to show me that. I remembered our last conversation and felt my heart break in half. Jimin does not want this.
Then, I heard a loud scream. Snapping back to reality, I looked at Sol. There she was whining and rubbing her face against her alpha’s leg. My shock and joy about it being someone else almost made me forget to check who it was. Quickly saying the binding spell, the other alphas moved away and trapped the newly mated pair in the circle.
“It can’t be!” I heard someone behind me.
“There must be a mistake,” Said another.
There in the middle of the circle lay Sol, her body practically wrapped around Kim Taehyung’s legs. Almost in shock, the man ran his fingers through her hair. This was the first time any man had seen it. I cleared my throat and began to sing.
The pairing spell was not really a spell at all. Only a charm for good luck and hope for many children. It was said to have produced strong heirs in the past so it was tradition. It had taken me many moons to change it to a spell song. Taehyung had helped the Luna stand and held her closely. She shook and held onto him with all her might. I let my eyes wander after the song to where Jimin was. He looked pleased.
Miles had been right, I thought.
I could hear whispers and cries of contempt around the room. No one was happy about this save for Taehyung's family. I could hear his siblings cheering with their mother. I glanced at Chief Ahn. While he did not looked particularly happy, he did not seem too upset either. He knew that the goddess had made her choice. I smiled from ear-to-ear.
“Luna Sol,” I said. “The goddess had chosen your other half. Kim Taehung, you are now the rightful alpha of Bangtan Forest.”
Taehyung smiled at me happily. Sol was in heaven breathing in her alpha’s scent. Kneeling at my altar, I placed my hands on the robe I had prepared before. After singing a quick protection spell, I placed it into my hands before lifting it.
“Come,” I said.
Taehyung sat before me bringing Sol with him. She sat in his lap with her face buried in his neck.
“Your robes, Luna,” I said gently, hoping my voice would not reach the ears of others.
She quickly untangled herself, snatching the garment from my hands only to go back to Taehyung without putting them on. The alpha took them from her and placed them around her shoulders. The alphas had their robes on already.
“It is time for me to give you a gift,” I said kindly, already beginning to feel the burn in my back.
I had researched ways to make my wings sprout out without needing the sunlight. Making a sacrifice to Lilith was one way, but I was not using blood for this. However, another way was to gift my feathers during a ceremony. A Bridie from long ago called Reina had talked about it in her spellbook. I tried it myself a few days ago and it worked. It was, however, the most painful experience I had ever gone through.
Putting my faith into the pearl on my face, I began to sing. My back felt like I was being stabbed with a hot branding iron. Sweat pooled down my neck and I screamed out the last part of the spell in agony. I could feel my blood dripping down my body and pooled around me. Feathers fell into the sticky puddle.
Taking two from my wings, I placed them at my altar with shaking hands. I braced myself against the wood and bit my lip as they went back in. I could taste iron and salt. Crying, I put my hands over the feathers and began to sing once more. Shaky and out of breath, the spell made the feathers lift and spin. As I composed myself, the feathers began to change colors and two pristine, white feathers landed gently on my altar. Looking at the couple, Taehyung looked ill while Sol was still at his neck without a care in the world.
“For your new beginnings,” I choked out, using magic to hand over the feathers. My hands were still covered in blood and would stain them. Taehyung took them in awe. I blew and used my magic to make the salt circle disappear. “May they bring you peace and hope.”
With the ceremony over, the people were loud and vocalizing their woes. No one had expected Taehyung to be the alpha except Miles, it seemed. Tired and worn, I allowed myself the chance to lay on the ground to catch my breath. Taehyung called out to me, but Chief Ahn was on him before he could do anything to help me.
“We must speak, alpha,” Chief Ahn said and then looked at me. “Alpha Park! Take care of this.”
“Yes, chief.”
Eye heavy, I lifted myself up and waved my hands. Taehyung told me to rest but I ignored him. I needed to pick up my things.
“Birdie,” Taehyung said. “You don’t look well.”
“I can do this,” I huffed, forcing my body to move.
Strong hands covered mine. Jimin looked upset and I froze. What had happened?
“I will do this,” He said, voice hard. “Lay down.”
“But-” I protested.
“Lay.”
I did as I was told this time. Truth is, I was exhausted but I was more afraid of what I could do with Jimin now that he was free of his title. I smiled at that. He was still able to be mine, at least in my mind, now. Jimin placed my things into my bag with great care while the rest of the townsfolk left. Many of them were angry.
“Do you need help?” I heard Namjoon ask.
“No,” Jimin replied.
The alpha left without another word.
Jimin was swift picking up my things before lifting me into his arms. I knew I weighed nothing to him but I worried about the blood staining his robes. They were expensive and hard to get made. He did not seem to care about this and held me tightly against his chest.
“You can’t do that again,” He scolded once we were outside of the village.
“Do what?” I mumbled.
“That feather trick. You look like death.”
I hummed, “I’m sorry if I scared you.”
Jimin sighed, “I forgive you.”
The walk felt shorter now. Jimin, too, seemed to like taking the same path from all those years ago. This made me chuckle. Jimin grinned.
“Care to tell me what’s so funny?”
I giggled, “Do you remember the Yule we met?”
Jimin smiled fully this time. I forced my eyes to stay open to watch it. His eyes crinkled into crescents and his front tooth was slightly crooked. It was contagious.
“Of course,” He reassured me. “I still use your path often. I have to admit, it’s the best one yet.”
I sighed happily, “Except for the thorns but it looks like someone took care of those.”
Before, the trail had massive thickets that cut, poked, and sliced every inch of your skin if you were not careful. However, my walkthrough tonight showed no signs of them anywhere. Looking at Jimin, he seemed shy.
“I did once I began doing my rounds. Trying to doge mushroom circles is difficult when you’re that big.”
I snickered. “I could imagine.”
I was elated. While it was a shock to me that Taehyung was the new alpha, the fact that Jimin was not made it less burdensome. In fact, I was so happy to see Sol on Taehyung, I had forgotten to be surprised at all. Now, I am too tired. Maybe in the morning it would settle in.
“I’m glad,” I found myself saying. “That you got what you wanted.”
Jimin nodded but kept his eyes on the path.
“So am I.”
Shiloh was waiting for me when I got back and fussed over me entirely too much. Jimin had reassured her that I was alright, just as I had, but the owl refused to stop pestering me. The alpha took it in stride and asked for a pen and paper to write to one of my friends.
Shiloh took care of that while I was in bed. I was touched that he went out of his way to do that for me. I heard the owl fly off a few moments later. From the window she used, I assumed she was headed to Yoongi’s house.
“Thank you,” I called out, already slipping into sleep.
Jimin stood in my doorway and smiled softly at me. Walking over, he sat on the edge of my bed and looked at me. I struggled to stay awake.
“Let's get you cleaned up,” He said.
“Don’t worry,” I replied with a yawn. “Yoongi will help me.”
He hummed his reply. I felt my eyes slip shut and quickly popped them open. Jimin chuckled fondly.
“Get some rest, your friend will be here soon.”
I smiled and closed my eyes.
“I’ll stay with you until then.”
I nodded in response. Moving my hands, I remembered Wendy’s note and sighed. It would have to wait for the morning. And I drifted off soon after that.

Hi, hello, it’s me again here.
So, of course my competitive butt had to take my own comment about Yuki/Alex as a challenge and now I have 12k or more of a draft.
But I don’t know if I’m doing it correctly, I NEED HELP (also mental help, possibly). I was mostly inspired by AJR’s song ‘Turning out’, which I highly recommend because it’s A MASTERPIECE.
The general idea is: Yuki finds a stray puppy during a storm and he brings it to the prt clinic at the ground floor of his apartment complex where Alex has just started working.
They start to get to know each other but Yuki is still nit sure if he actually likes Alex or if he sees him as a best friend, since he’s never cared about actually getting into a relationship so he had never actually looked at the difference between love and in love.
But it’s also a big period of his life because both Charles and Pierre have moved out of the apartment that they used to all (as in Yuki, Pierre and Charles) live in during university because they have started working and have decided to move in either their respective partners.
Charles is already engaged with Carlos (of course there’s Charlos, it’s my fic) and Pierre hints at proposing to George (I don’t know where this ship came from in my mind but I wanted it, so I wrote about it), and Yuki is starting to feel lonely. [also, other side-couples are Sewis and Landoscar]
He has the company of a puppy called Kuri (because it’s Japanese for chestnut, and I imagine Yuki with a poodle with chestnut fur) and Alexander Albon, funny and tall and easygoing but he doesn’t know what it means to him.
So, lots of introspection as it’s common in my fics and fluff because Yalex has to be a comfort ship, sorry. (And I’m also planning on smut, hehe)
Anyway, here is a little snippet, let me know what you think about it (keep in mind that I am NOT British and I do NOT have a beta reader):
Karma may be a little fickle tonight, but it certainly pulls him to its side when the heavy rain turns into a light drizzle halfway through his way back to his apartment complex – which isn’t a long journey, per se, but Yuki surely isn’t one to look into a gifted horse’s mouth.
So, by the time he has reached the closed doors of the vet clinic, he is shivering much less than before and the biting cold in his bones has turned into an uncomfortable chill shiver running down his spine from time to time.
What is annoying is the hair plastered down to his eyes dripping wet and the fact that he can’t even try and move a few strands out because his arms are already stuffed full of the sleeping body of a tiny, harmed puppy.
Good God.
The doors stay closed when he finds a sheltered place under the brick's roof of the entrance, but Yuki knows for a fact that Sebastian is never able to leave this place until it’s ten in the evening, because there’s always some animal staying the night after an operation, and he would probably rather close the clinic for good instead of leaving them alone for more than eight hours.
Yuki had never got it, honestly, the sleep and the warm comfort of his bed seems like a much better prospect than staying around sleeping animals in pain, but now that he’s looking at the limp tiny thing in his arms, he may start to understand.
“Sebastian!” he calls out, reaching with his pinky finger to the doorbell. He cries his name a bunch of times, because the rain is starting to fall again and his voice might get covered soon enough, and there’s no way that Yuki is going to wait for him to close everything up – that might take hours, the puppy may be hurting too much by then. “Sebastian, please, it’s an emergency” he must sound like a possessed man, and the lady on the first floor will probably have something to complain about in their next condominium meeting. But she always talks too loudly on her phone on Sunday mornings when Yuki is trying to sleep away a tremendous hangover, so she can honestly go fuck herself – respectfully.
It still takes a few more minutes and a few more desperate calls for the door to open and the dim yellow light of the waiting room to seep on the steps. Yuki slips inside without even waiting for it to open completely, clutching the jacket close to his chest and exhaling deeply through his nose when the warmth of the air-conditioned room finally engulfs him. The puppy sighs against his chest, so it must appreciate the change in temperature, too.
“See, I told you buddy I would get you safe. Yuki always keeps his promises” he says softly, shuffling the bundle of leather closer to his face. The puppy smells pretty bad, a mix of blood and dumpsters rubbish from London neighborhoods, but its tiny eyes are staring back at him all lucid and wide and full of fondness, like it can actually feel love for him, and Yuki can’t even consider the possibility of getting it too far away from his nose.
Yuki may have just fallen in love, too. But it also might be the adrenaline of acting like a freaking hero in a rainstorm when he can barely reach the top cupboard of his kitchen with the help of a stepladder.
But Disney never made a movie about short heroes; he never had a figure to look up to during his childhood.
“Now Sebastian here will take really good care of you, yes? He won’t ever hurt you. Right Seb-” Yuki stops in his tracks when his gaze meets a pair of brown eyes that definitely do not belong to Sebastian, especially with the way he almost has to bend his neck in half to actually look at the face in front of him and not at the expanse of a broad chest hugged by a plain blue polo.
This is not Sebastian’s chest and not Sebastian’s hair and definitely not Sebastian’s lips and definitely definitely not Sebastian’s white coat. Oh.
“You’re not Sebastian” Yuki says dumbly.
Surely enough, there’s a tall lanky guy standing in front of the now closed door, looking only slightly stunned at Yuki’s sudden outburst, like it’s normal to have someone barging inside a vet clinic at half past nine on a Thursday night in the middle of yet another London’s rainy day.
Oh god, but what if this guy is the one who actually barged in? What if Yuki has just uncovered a burglar? But would a burglar open the door for him?
The guy stares at Yuki in silence for two long seconds before he starts patting his abdomen, pretending to check his whole appearance. “Oh, fuck I’m not Sebastian!” the guy exclaims, looking frantically at his fingers, clenching and unclenching his fists like he’s trying to make out the shape of them.
Yuki snorts, shaking his head. This guy could never be a burglar even if his life depended on it, it seems. Besides, he might be slim enough to pass through anything, but he’s still too tall to go unnoticed.
“No, I’m not Sebastian” tall guy says, chuckling to himself. “I’m Alex. You almost made me have an existential crisis right then and there.”
“Identity theft is not a joke”
Alex raises an amused eyebrow at him, like he’s trying to make out the space where Yuki fits in his vision, and he smiles, wide and bright with big teeth and all. “You’re a cultured man, Yuki.”
Yuki furrows his eyebrows in confusion, “How do you know my name?” He asks, looking at the puppy in his arms to make sure- oh, right. “Oh”
Alex laughs again, his eyes crinkling at the corners. He must have a tendency for it or maybe it’s just Yuki who looks funny in general. A lot of people have told him that in the past and he still doesn’t know if it’s a good or bad thing.
“You’re funny” Alex states, like it’s some kind of irrefutable axiom. He clasps his hands, taking a few steps forward to start inspecting the bundle between Yuki’s arms. “I heard there was an emergency.”
Instinctively, Yuki clutches the jacket closer, one finger gently caressing the single dot of white in the middle of the beige fur of his head. The puppy yelps softly, snuggling its little nose towards Yuki’s chest, and his heart swells like a balloon.
“Yeah, I really need Sebastian” Yuki says, “I mean, this little thing is hurt, and it really needs a vet.”
“Well, then, it’s a good coincidence I work here, no?” Alex smiles wide, teeth showing between his lips.
Yuki blinks at him. “Uh, no you don’t?” He says but it sounds more like a question than a statement. But, to be fair, he lives above the place, and he has known everyone around here for ages, he would’ve surely remembered someone as tall as this Alex, with such bright dyed hair and this adorable smile-
“Uh, yes I do?” Alex says back, grinning. “I mean, just since this morning. But officially I work here.”
“I’ve never seen you around. And I live here” Yuki says defensively, trying his very best to show at least a smidge of self-consciousness even though he will probably give up pretty easily if Alex keeps staring at him like this – big eyes, big smile, hair that look incredibly morbid.
He hasn’t seen a new face in a while, more so belonging to a cute guy, and there’s still a beer slowly swimming in his stomach, so he should be justified.
“I moved recently” Alex explains, not giving much information away to satiate Yuki’s curiosity. He arches an eyebrow, finally touching the sides of the jacket hanging from Yuki’s arms. Yuki lets him just because he doesn’t really know what to do anymore, and if the guy is really a vet as he’s claiming to be, then he should trust him more than himself.
It definitely is not because his brain is slowly turning to mush at their proximity.
“Now, let’s see what we have here” Alex says, carefully taking the jacket from his arms.
The puppy goes willingly without even whimpering once, instead snuggling happily as it’s deposited against the chest of a new stranger. Traitor, Yuki thinks, though he would probably react the same in its place.
“Hi little baby. How cute are we? So much” Alex coos gently, caressing with his index finger the same spot Yuki had been gently scraping earlier. The puppy gives another satisfied yelp. “Oh, are we hurt? Poor little thing. But now Alex will take good care of you, alright?”
Yuki just stands there looking at the interaction with his hands to the sides, suddenly feeling too empty after so long of hanging desperately on to the tiny animal. But it’s incredibly adorable and endearing the way Alex keeps comforting it, as if it can actually understand what he’s saying, its tiny tail wiggling against the jacket when he manages to scratch a good spot behind his ears.
The puppy must sense that Alex is a good person, and Yuki may be a little dramatic most of the time, but he probably trusts the puppy more than himself. Especially if it’s about a cute guy talking with a high-pitched voice to an adorable animal in pain.
“Now Alex will take you to the other room and we’ll check everything, yeah?” He looks at Yuki then, eyeing him up and down, probably taking in his conditions.
Only then Yuki realizes what he must look like, with his hair flat over his head, raindrops still sliding down his nose, the simple white T-shirt he had been wearing under the jacket now completely soaked, tight against his chest. His shoes make a weird squelching sound when he takes a step forward, his socks clinging uncomfortably to his toes and his pants scratching against his probably already bruised knees.
Fuck, he wanted to wear them for work, there’s no way he’ll wash them in time.
“Uh, sorry?” He mumbles, painfully aware of the puddle he has formed under his feet. He grips at the hem of his T-shirt, uselessly trying to straighten it out and immediately regretting it when his palms leave sticky red handprints in their wakes. Yeah, no, there’s no way this is recoverable.
Alex doesn’t seem angry about it, and as his gaze falls to the stained fabric, he frowns, concerned.
“It’s the puppy’s” Yuki says, cringing at the feeling of blood against his skin.
Oh God, it’s the puppy’s blood. A puppy’s blood is staining his clothes and his hands and he’s going to puke, isn’t he? Or worse, what if this cute guy thinks he hurt it? What if this cute guy thinks he is an attempted murderer? A murderer of puppies?
Yuki is honestly afraid of his own shadow most of the time, and he still sleeps with his night light on when there’s too many thunders outside, but how can he convince Alex of that without embarrassing himself even further?
To his delight, Alex smiles at him, shaking his head with a twinge of fondness that makes Yuki’s cheeks feel incredibly warm for the way he’s still shivering from the cold. “Come on, then” Alex says, turning around “You can clean up and dry off in front of the radiator.”
Yuki doesn’t have to be told twice.

wip wednesday winner’s circle
well, the results are in, and as i’m sure everyone expected the winner of this poll was hank, by a landslide. tagging everyone in the notes for the poll + everyone who tagged me to share for wip wednesday. @florbelles @simplegenius042 @cassietrn @stacispratt @strangefable @direwombat @socially-awkward-skeleton @inafieldofdaisies @nuclearstorms @voidika @orionlancasterr @nightbloodbix @assassinregrets @cassietrn @unholymilf @henbased @wrathfulrook (and consider this an open wip day tag for any of my other usual suspects, sorry it’s tired in here)
technically over sentence count because it was close enough i felt like doing a contextually cleaner start and finish, here is your serving of the hank chronicles.
“There you go, little guy.” She smiles down at Hank as she gives two light smacks to the pumpkin. “You dig in on this, and I’ll be back before you know it,” she says with a parting kiss to Hank’s snout.
Hank doesn’t need to be told twice — he reaches his hands up to grip the top of the rind, tipping the pumpkin on its side to spill the stringy mess of pulp and seed along the too-shiny rock.
He sticks his hand into the mess of innards to bring a fistful of the orange mush to his mouth. His free hand is already reaching for a second serving as he licks the last sweet, gooey morsels from his fingers. He shoves the licked cleaned hand right back into the orange heap as he brings the next bite to his maw, alternating them so that treats are shoveled nonstop into his mouth.
Hank loses track of how many times he does this — not much manages to enter his awareness at all, beyond the yummy flavor of pumpkin in his mouth and the growing fullness in his belly. He barely even pauses when he hears a thud and animal fighting sounds above him, looking around just long enough to see it isn’t happening where he is, so he reckons it’s those critters’ business and not his.
He only halts the eager smack of his jaw when the quick forward grasp of his hand fails to dig into pumpkin — instead knocking against the rind too hard, pushing the entire fruit away.
Hank lets out a horrified screech as he watches the nearly still full pumpkin hit the ground with a thud, then begin to roll away.
This time, Hank doesn’t have time to think about the best way to climb down — he simply leaps after his precious meal, pain jolting through his little legs as they hit the hard, flat ground then smacking against his side as he loses his balance upon landing.
But he fights through the hurt, hurrying back to his feet to scurry after the pumpkin as it crashes into the double doors at the end of the room, its heavy weight pushing them open easily.
Hank just barely moves his little legs fast enough to squeak through the doors before they swing shut again, his eyes locked on that fast rolling blur of orange all the while.
It gives him a strange feeling as if he were back in the old days, before Red knew to stop and wait for his little legs to catch up, and he had to chase after her everywhere.
But just like Red once did, the pumpkin finally comes to a stop long enough for him to catch up. And with a quick pitter-patter of his feet against wood Hank closes the distance until his special treat is back within his reach.
But the triumphant joy he feels at his claws digging into the rind is short lived. Because the moment he raises his head to look around with a wide victory grin, Hank sees something that makes his little heart stop and a horrible chill run through him from snout to tail.
His precious pumpkin has landed at the feet of a horrible, vicious bear standing back on its hind legs to tower over Hank with teeth bared in an angry snarl.

for the ask game!! 💯, 🖤, 🎮, or 🔱 for skye (yes i know as a half-mer they can swim... but is it like azul where they don't like doing so with people around or like the leeches where they're super chill about it???)
Yipppeee!!
💯-“ what are three random facts about your OC?”
Skye cannot stand sour food. They grew up eating Jamil’s cooking so they’re well acquainted with spice and love foods that would burn off most people’s tongues, but if anythings even slightly sour they won’t eat it. They also don’t like coffee, but other than that they’ll rlly eat anything. And I mean anything.
They have a cat! I mentioned that briefly but I’ll share the cat lore. When Skye was around 6 or 7 they saw a little kitten on the side of the road. They went to grab it bcuz they thought it was a mouse and wanted to eat it, but no longer wanted to eat it once discovering it isn’t a mouse. So they took it to Azul who freaked out bcuz this wasn’t long after the Guinea pig incident (more on that later), so he takes the cat to the vet and gets everything sorted then talks to Jamil about finding it a home, bcuz he’s anxious abt keeping it around w Skye. Skye then expresses that they want to keep the cat, so Jamil purposes they leave the cat with Treyjade for a few months to figure things out cuz they live nearby and already have animals. Azul agrees to this, so for abt 3 months of Skye begging to go to treyjades house and getting upset when they are denied permission to hold the kitten (they didn’t show interest in any of the other animals), Jamil and Azul decided it was probably fine, so they took the cat home. Her name is Mariana and she’s a Russian blue cat! She’s very much a lap cat but only for Skye, she will hiss and claw at anyone else who tries to pick her up lmao
And for the third fact, they became housewarden about a month into their time at nrc. Which is impressive by any standards, but not impressive enough, bcuz Shenzi (my younger kaliruggie kid who Skye despises), became Scarabia housewarden three days before Skye became Octavinelle housewarden. They initially didn’t wanna take the title super fast, but when Shenzi did, they got pissed and went for it. They’re still salty about this and will likely always be salty about this.
🖤 - “Has your OC killed or seriously wounded someone before? Have they broken someone’s heart and/or broken someone’s trust?”
God damn what a question- okay so idk if you’ve read my 2nd Skye post where I go more in detail abt their venom/hunting strategy but they do have some extremely powerful venom. No human/mer/beastman has ever been killed by it, tho a lot of animals have. Skye was very reckless as a child, a big difference from their collected and put-together appearance they hold. They bit everything as a kid, edible or not, and Jamil and Azul had their hands full trying to keep them from killing any animal they saw. I’d say the worst thing they ever killed was one of treyjade’s pet Guinea pigs when they were like 7-ish, but I don’t think they lost the trust of treyjade from that bcuz Jade being a mer himself and Trey being married to a mer/having mer kids understood some things couldn’t be helped. They’ve never fully envenomated a person as it stands, they bit Floyd once as a toddler cuz they were curious but he didn’t die or even get super hurt. He didn’t hold them for a while tho lmao
🎮- “what are three of your ocs favorite hobbies?”
Skye reads a lot, they were the kind of kid where you had to take their books away as punishment lmao, they’ll read anything and they’ll read it freakishly fast. They’re really good at board/video games but don’t really play them much outside of their club/with friends so I wouldn’t count that, so as for the other two- idk if tea counts as a hobby but I am counting it, they grew up very close with Jade, he’s always been their favorite uncle (the octatrio and their spouses + kids is a very tightly knit group they’re all family), so from a very young age Jade was teaching them a lot about tea, so into their high school years they experiment more with making tea blends and they have a huge tea collection in their dorm room (and an even bigger one at home). As for the last one- this may surprise you! So I’ve had this in some of their unpublished notes for a MINUTE, they do tarot cards! And they’re extremely good at it. This isn’t a lifelong hobby like the other two cuz no one in their family was ever into it, but they picked it up as a way to make money for the lounge like a true ashengrotto. their plan was to have a temporary psychic reading thing for Halloween, but they ended up getting weirdly interested in it and now they have at least 5 decks amongst all the tins of tea
🔱 - “can your OC swim? Does your OC enjoy swimming?”
Uhh yes and no? Well they can swim in both forms, Azul made sure of that after the incident with their brother (long story), but they really don’t like doing it in human form. They’re obviously great in their merform, idk if you’ve ever seen a video of a sea snake swim but it’s really cool so I’ll link one. But swimming with two legs instead of one long tail + without the security blanket of strong venom isn’t something they enjoy.

what was lost, what was gained ch. 6 (finale)
yay, we made it! Thanks to everyone who's stuck with this story, and thanks to @bluedaddysgirl for the beta.
-
T-minus one hour and thirteen minutes to arrival. Their voyage to Coruscant was almost over.
Cody wanted to be happy about it. Standard operations would resume when they landed. The 212st would go back to the front lines. General Kenobi would regain his vigor and return to the stalwart, steadfast man that he’d been before. No more sleepless nights. No more empty smiles, even if those had been dwindling long before they had captured the Sith. The war weighed on everyone, Cody reminded himself, no matter how great they were.
Cody’s lookout chair sat empty. He paced the block instead. It didn’t matter if Maul saw how restless he was. Soon the Sith wouldn’t be seeing much of anything.
It was a cruel thought, but Maul was a cruel man. Cody couldn’t drum up any mercy for him.
Inside his cell, the Sith was quieter than usual. Cody had assumed it was nerves at first, but that wasn’t it. Maul was calm, like he was prepared to answer for his crimes without a fight. It was consistent with his attitude during his imprisonment, but still…
Maybe Cody had been wrong all along. Maybe Maul really couldn’t remember. Maybe he never would. Maybe Maul was actually prepared to face judgment, not because he remembered his crimes, but at the behest of General Kenobi. Cody had seen the general’s silver tongue at work before, how he averted large-scale conflicts with well-placed words and what Cody guessed were gentle nudges in the Force.
His thoughts were disturbed by a shout echoing down the corridor.
“Commander—!”
It was Maul. His voice was piercing, tight with fear. The cadence of it was so startling that Cody had already crossed the block before any suspicion had time to register. He chided himself. Being so close to the end of this whole mess was making him jumpy. He slowed his step, composing himself before he stepped in front of Maul’s cell.
“What? Getting cold fe—”
The sight of Maul stopped Cody mid-sentence.
The Sith was folded in half on his cot, spasming. A long, panicked whine escaped him; it sounded less like a man and more like an animal caught in a spike trap. Maul was tearing at his neck—no, his collar. The device was sparking. Had Maul tampered with it? Or had it malfunctioned somehow? The sight and sound was horrible; it chilled the skin on the back of Cody’s neck. He wanted to close his eyes and clutch his hands over his ears. Mishap or no, he had to stop this, needed to alert medical immediately. If not for Maul, then for the general.
“Kix, send a few troopers for retrieval in cell block two,” Cody blurted into his wristcomm. “The Sith managed to electrocute himself.”
He didn’t wait for an affirmative. He was already disabling the rayshields and stepping into the cell. Cody’s bracers were resistant to certain levels of voltage. He could probably pry the collar off before his backup arrived, minimizing the damage.
Beneath Cody’s hand, there was a crack, metallic and sudden, a stark whiff of ozone. Electricity arced in a dazzling line, bright enough to hurt his eyes. The collar fell away into pieces, nothing more than smoking, useless scrap.
Maul’s dark eyes glimmered. Brightened. He wasn’t writhing. Not anymore.
“Thank you, commander,” Maul said, voice sibilant.
Cody grabbed for his blaster. It was too late, he knew. But that was the thing about instinct. It was impossible to fight. Ingrained.
Then he couldn’t breathe. His hands shot up, clawed at the invisible pressure at his throat. Stupid. Stupid! He knew better. He’d known all along!
“You’ve done so much already,” Maul crooned, “but I do hope you’ll aid me in one final matter.”
Cody’s vision wavered. His self-loathing and fury were as painful as the Force crushing his windpipe. Whatever words he wanted to say, scream, spit—were reduced to a pathetic mist of spittle.
He would kill Maul. If it was the last thing he did, he would do it—
Confusion perforated Cody’s thoughts. He wasn’t getting enough oxygen. He had to be hallucinating.
Before him, Maul’s face twisted, red and black gone taut and jagged. His eyes began to change. Like blood in water, yellow poisoned his dark gaze. Sith’s eyes. They were so bright they seemed to shimmer. A trick of the light? No, not that, Cody realized. A long, pealing howl sliced through the silence.
Maul was crying. Openly. He didn’t try to hide it. Maybe he didn’t even realize he was doing it.
The hold on Cody’s neck eased. He drew in a ragged breath. Maul startled at the sound, quieted mid-sob. One moment crying, the next, emotionless, alien. Hard as stone.
Just like the general, Cody thought.
Maul tightened his fist again. That tear-stained face was the last thing Cody saw before his world faded into darkness.
-
There was screaming. The smell and heat of blaster fire and smoking machinery. Even so, it was hard for Cody to open his eyes. He was in so much pain. He felt like he had swallowed glass, like he was being held together by external pressure alone.
He blinked back spots and took in the scene around him. The toes of his boots scraped along the durasteel floor. He was floating, carried by the Force. He could feel the Sith close behind him, his invisible vice locked around Cody’s throat. They passed other members of the 212th in a cruel mimicry of a Republic Day parade—only there were no cheering onlookers, only bodies. Some moving, others not.
Cody wanted to scream at his brothers yet to fall. Kill me! Don’t let him escape! But the Force stole his voice. His eyesight blurred dangerously. He couldn’t let this happen. He couldn’t. He reached for his blasters, but his holsters were empty.
Useless. Useless!
Cody had to watch as his men were flung back and away, into walls, into each other. They stood their ground bravely, but it didn’t matter. Their attacks were deflected. And each one of them went down. Nothing stopped Maul’s relentless advance.
Cody struggled, but the Force tightened whenever he did. Only when he collapsed into his hold did Maul allow him to breathe.
“Such anger,” Maul purred into his ear, “isn’t becoming of a man of your status.”
Cody thought he did pass out then, mind black with fury. Gone was any trace of the broken, weeping man Maul had been in the cell.
When he could think again, they were already halfway across the ship. They had reached the docking bay escape pods. The hatch behind them sealed. The locking mechanism squealed as it was destroyed with a single, sickening crunch. End of the line. Cody inhaled what air he could, afraid his heart might stop.
There was a single man blocking their path. Eyes so blue, face so controlled he looked like he was carved from marble.
If Cody could’ve killed himself right then and there, he would’ve. He had fallen for Maul’s ploy. He had been used against his own men. Now he would be used against his general.
“You don’t have to do this, Maul,” came General Kenobi’s soft words.
There was a rumbling. Then the sound ratcheted, ricocheting down the hall. Ghastly, hair-raising peals—Maul was laughing.
“Your arrogance never ceases to astound. Did you think fucking me would absolve you?”
Cody’s eyes shot wide. What the hell was that supposed to mean?! He stared, dumbfounded, at the general, but the man wouldn’t meet his eye. He was looking past him. Looking right at Maul.
“It’s true, commander,” Maul said. He was close to Cody now; his words were hot on the back of his neck. “We’ve had quite the sordid affair, Obi-Wan and I. Didn’t he tell you?”
A hairline fracture splintered the general’s perfect facade. Cody felt himself fracturing too. Where was the general’s anger? His outrage?
As Cody’s shock began to fade, dread filled its absence. Deny it. Deny it, please.
But the denial never came.
“Enough, Maul,” General Kenobi said. “Take the escape pod. Just let the commander go.”
Maul released another humorless laugh. “How stupid do you think I am? I need him. What else would stop you from destroying my pod as soon as it launched?”
“I don’t want to kill you, Maul.”
“You already did, once,” Maul hissed. “Surely you are not above doing it a second time.”
A line appeared between General Kenobi’s brows. Another crack. This was hurting him. Why didn’t he defend his actions? He’d had every right to kill the Sith.
Why care about a murderer like Maul?
“That was then,” the general said. “I give you my word that your ship will not be shot down.”
Maul could posture until the charhounds came home about how he didn’t trust the general, rub his past in his face. Yet the Sith seemed to be considering his offer. He was quiet for a long time. Then his reply snapped the silence.
“Your word is meaningless.”
He took a step forward. The motion sent another flood of pain through Cody, but at least he could take cold comfort in Maul’s refusal. Finally, someone was being reasonable.
Then Cody noticed the change in the general’s expression, his falling shoulders, his defeated words.
“If you can’t trust me, then take me instead.”
No. Dissent lodged in Cody’s throat, crushed silent by the Force. The general couldn’t honestly be considering this. Panic seized Cody. Seconds scraped by as he fought with himself. His world narrowed, black spots, red haze. He lost consciousness again. Not for long, but long enough to miss most of Maul’s reply. The single word rang like a blaster fired next to his head.
“... come.”
General Kenobi approached.
No. Nonononono—
The general turned to face Cody, and his mask softened. He smiled, a small, apologetic thing. Cody knew that expression. It was the look the general wore when he was about to do something heroic… something life threatening.
It’s going to be all right. Don’t worry, it said.
The general drew nearer. Cody tried to shake his head, to move, to speak. All he could do was tremble, balanced on the edge of consciousness. His eyes were burning.
General Kenobi stopped in front of him. He raised his hand from his side. He seemed like he meant to touch Cody’s face. If he did, it would be over, then and there. Cody winced and shut his eyes. That was a mistake. He couldn’t stop the tears now. But what else could he do? If he looked at General Kenobi and let himself be comforted after failing so miserably, he would break… as if he hadn't already.
A heartbeat. Two. Three. The touch didn’t come.
Cody heard the general step past him, then Maul flung Cody aside. It was a kindness, in its own way. The impact hurt. The gulps of air forced into his lungs razed like a chemical burn. Cody fought through waves of nausea and pain, rolling over onto his stomach. He had landed several meters away, too far to be of any use, too far to stop either of them.
Cody tried to call out to General Kenobi, but a coughing fit stole over him. He could only watch helplessly as Maul reached for the general—not with the Force, but with his bare hand. The high collared tunic that General Kenobi wore was displaced by his grip. The revealed skin was mottled and discolored. Bruises. Several of them. They were deep, fresh, perhaps only a few hours old. Maul seemed to study them, traced each one with his claws. Then he spread his fingers, pressing all of the bruises at once. Together, they formed a perfect match. A constellation of Maul’s own design.
Last night, Maul had touched him. Maul had hurt him.
Fight. Fight! Cody wanted to scream. Don’t go. He’ll kill you!
But Cody could barely wheeze. And General Kenobi didn’t move. He stood with hands at his sides, eyes locked with Maul’s. Did he think the Sith wouldn’t harm him? Even after he regained his memories? Did he know? Could he not tell, looking into those eyes? Even after he had used Cody as a human shield? Nearly choked the life out of him?
The general’s doing this for me, Cody thought. He wanted to believe it more than anything.
Maul yanked General Kenobi closer. For a harrowing moment, Cody thought he was going to kiss him. But Maul stopped right before their mouths made contact. He tilted his head to the side, pressed his nose beneath the general’s ear. Cody knew what the general smelled like. Cypress, ansionian tea, pressed cotton. But Maul wasn’t human. What he detected was surely more complex—intimate—and utterly unknown to Cody. Eyes narrowed, Maul was savoring it.
Cody’s yell was no louder than a garbled whisper. He tried to stand, and when he couldn’t, he began to drag himself across the cold durasteel floor.
Neither Jedi or Sith noticed. They might as well have been light years from him, locked in their own orbit. Unreachable.
When Maul spoke, his words froze Cody to the bone, stopped his approach dead in its tracks.
“I may have forgotten you once. But I will never forget you again, Obi-Wan.”
Then he moved, the motion too quick for human eyes to track, too quick for Cody to dread what was to come.
The kiss lasted for all of a second, but it may as well have been an eternity. A soft, muffled grunt, a hard press of lips, the general’s wide eyes, his hand raised to the Sith’s chest... To push away–or to pull closer?
Suddenly, the hatch to the docking bay exploded. Heat and smoke barreled over Cody. What remained of the hatch was knocked aside, and several troopers flooded into the bay.
“Hold fire! He has the general!”
It was all the time Maul needed. He sent General Kenobi flying with the Force, then lunged into the nearest escape pod. A wave of blaster bolts roared over Cody’s head, but the pod sealed without taking damage.
There was a small porthole on the escape pod. Through it, Maul stared at General Kenobi. It was an unreadable expression. Fixed, unblinking. It made Cody ill.
Then the pod launched, and the Sith disappeared.
There was a cacophony of activity around Cody. Troopers barked orders into their wristcomms. Two rushed forward and knelt over him. Others attended to the general, who was picking himself up from the floor.
“Commander, are you hurt?”
Worse than you know, Cody thought. He shook off the steely numbness that threatened to overtake him. He couldn’t freeze now. “Bacta.” He tapped his throat. “Then take me… to bridge.”
Giving orders felt good. There was comfort in setting a plan in motion.
Kix administered a bacta shot to the side of Cody’s neck. Then they were off.
“Casualties?” Cody asked Kix.
“None that I know of, sir,” Kix said. “A few are concussed. We were lucky today.”
Yes, lucky, Cody thought. Surely Maul wouldn’t have shown them mercy.
When they reached the bridge, the troopers working navigation were already in pursuit. The ship was out of hyperspace, and Coruscant loomed, its atmosphere clear. In the center of the viewport, a reticle blinked, and the navicomputer sounded. The escape pod.
“We are locked on target,” Chits said from his station. “Ready to fire.”
They had to take the shot. The whole planet was a city, layered, labyrinthine. It provided an endless number of places to hide. A Sith loose within the galaxy’s capital was a threat too large to leave to chance. If they didn’t shoot now, they would lose him.
“Fire on—”
“Don’t fire. That’s an order!” came the general’s voice from behind.
Cody whirled around. Kix had to scramble to keep him upright. “General Kenobi, we must kill him. He’s a threat to every citizen on the planet!”
He is a threat to you! Cody nearly screamed. Why can’t you see that?!
“I gave him my word,” the general replied.
Cody hated how he said it. As if his command was somehow reasonable.
“Whatever he does down there. It’ll be on you. Blood on your hands.”
The words were hot like poison. Cody was out of line, but he needed to be. He needed to make the general see.
“You’re right,” General Kenobi said. “He is my responsibility. Alert the Jedi Council. They will assemble a supplemental team to help us capture him.”
It was too easy. Too convenient. No one—not even the Jedi—would take the general’s side on this.
“We’re losing him. He’s almost out of range!”
General Kenobi turned to Chits. “Continue pursuit, but do not fire. We’ll catch him.” He returned his attention to Cody. His expression softened, but his voice was firm. “Commander, prepare a ground force. Then report to the medbay.”
It was hard to look General Kenobi in the eye. Cody couldn’t see the man he was, the man he respected and trusted. He could only see the way he had looked when Maul had kissed him. His bright eyes, his mussed hair.
Cody looked down, but that was even worse. The general’s collar was still rumpled, his bruises on full display. They’d heal in time, but Cody would never forget them. Maybe that had been the point, all along. Maul wanted his claim to be obvious. Maul wanted Cody to know how useless he was. He wanted him to know that he would never taste what Maul had tasted. Would never leave such a mark.
Cody closed his fists so they wouldn’t shake. He couldn’t deal with this now. The general was waiting for his response. So Cody gave the only reply he could.
“Yes, sir.”
Regardless of what Maul had done, regardless of what General Kenobi had let him do… it would have to be dealt with later.
For now, the general still needed him. And that would have to be enough.

Congrats on the 500+ Followers👍I would like to request a fem!reader with Barbatos from Obey Me with the prompt “Don’t do that, you’ll hurt yourself.” ~🔮
thankies! one butler coming up!

"Shut up, shut up, shut up!!!"
Your head is lightheaded from screaming those words. It's like it's second nature when the lamp leaves your hand to make a spectacular crash against an old marble statue. An artifact most likely from the old ages of Devildom and quite rare.
You couldn’t care less.
Your eyes rabidly search for another item, something heavy, something big enough to make a statement. Before you can even think to grab the bronze paperweight off a desk, a hand encircles your wrist.
"Please, darling." Like a feral animal, you immediately start clawing at your captor's hands, hissing and snarling at any unwanted touch.
His tired sigh is your only warning before you're sat up by his tail and then trapped within teal coils.
"Let go of me, you bastard!" You wiggle, to no avail. Damn this serpent for having strong grip strength! It's only a matter of minutes before you're tired and worn out, slumped against cool scales.
"Are you done, dear?" You can practically feel the condescension dripping off the question. Another slew of insults and curses leave your mouth, albeit more worn out and no longer threatening in this position.
A chuckle, and then his coils shift to move your scratched hands out of the coils for his viewing. Barbatos clicks his tongue, conjuring up bandages and septic in a blink of an eye.
"I'm glad you got it out of your system, but let's find something safer to do next time, hm?" You want to scratch out his eyes. He's acting as if you're an under stimulated pet cat who just needs a toy and some play time to keep it happy.
"Fuck off." You make no move to shake off his hands despite the venom in your voice. It was long useless to try to fight against Barbatos and his mother henning.
"Now, that's not very nice dear." Barbatos hums, as he finishes wrapping your hand with a click of scissors. "I get very worried about you at times."
You don’t want his worry or kindness. In another timeline, perhaps. But now his unblinking eyes just means there isn’t anywhere in this room, world, and even timeline that you can be free of. It’s long left you chained to his side, at his beck and call as if you were the servant instead of him.
“Let me go. Just let me go home.” You sob angrily. It’s humiliating, tears and snot running over your cheeks as you beg again. “Please–”
“Now darling, we’ve talked about this, haven't we?” More tears streak out of your eyes in anger. “But you should know, time here flows differently than the surface world.”
“W-What?”
“I once went up there, under my Lord’s orders. I had the chance to stop by your home.” He leans in, closed eyes and soft lips. “And do you know what I saw, my dear?”
Your throat closes. Like a cold shower, you’re left chilled to the bone.
“It’s really a shame they had to deal with a murder and a missing persons case. I don’t think they’ll ever catch the culprit, though.”
You begin to scream.
