It 100% guarantees a flustered Dazai by the end of it- he's so used to being the one initiating the kiss that when Chuuya appears out of nowhere to smooch him he can't handle it.

Soukoku and their views on humanity

I said I'd make this post so here it is!

This post will include spoilers for the stormbringer lightnovel ‼️‼️(and also fifteen)

So the way Dazai and Chuuya view humanity is inherently different.

Dazai views it as a state of mind. If you act human you're human. To be human has to do with compassion and empathy. It's about what we call 'human nature'. And for someone like he, who (atleast as a teenager) did not feel and think in the way he deemed right he couldn't view himself as human.

Chuuyas view on what makes someone human is much more literal. "If you're a human then you're human." So in stormbringer, when he finds out he might not be an organic human to begin with it causes him to question and struggle with his own humanity.

In a way they are what the other wishes they could be.

Dazai wants to feel human, he wants to find that reason to live that comes so naturally for everyone around him, that's why he joined the mafia. Then comes chuuya, who is in whatever way you look at it so incredibly human. He wears his heart on his sleeve, he's so expressionate and most importantly, he feels deeply and at all times. Chuuya too came from that life Dazais had searched for and he had it all. They were the same type of people and still, chuuya was so different, so bright. And Chuuya might not even be human, but Dazai couldn't care less, because to him, even this made-made string of code was more human than he could ever wish to be. I think one of the reason Dazai loved to annoy Chuuyas from day one were to see that emotion on his face, as even more proof of his humanity.

This idea is even backed up by that scene in fifteen was Dazai continues to shoot that man even after he's already died. Dazai's almost like in a trance, mumbling about how "this is more than you deserve". Then Chuuya kicks the gun out of Dazais hand and says "Quit shooting dead bodies". Dazai responds with "You're right. You're absolutely right. What you say is probably correct." Because that's the correct way to think, what Chuuya had told him only further proved what Dazai had feared to be true.

I'll probably talk about their view on death as a whole some other day because Al find it really interesting and this is one of my favorite scenes when it comes to analysis.

To Chuuya, Dazai is everything but bright. Dazai is in anyway you see it entirely human. Born to a mother and raised among humankind. Still, he can't appreciate that. He doesn't understand what Chuuyas would give to have that. He's too stuck up about how he'll never be human, how the world Chuuya fought so hard to survive in is so very terrible. Dazai has "everything" and he still isn't happy with it. Weirdly enough, he seems so sure that Chuuya is infact human, without any proof of it either.

Chuuya had a reason to hate Dazai from the beginning (the whole thing with the sheep only further tainted Chuuyas view on Dazai), and I think he did, until the events if Stormbringer that is. That was when he won his unconditional trust. Dazai never fully hated Chuuya, but in a way Chuuya did question everything Dazai believed in. He was something unpredictable and exciting in his otherwise dull life. That was how he convinced Dazai to keep living after the Rimbaud fight.

That wasn't all good though. You're not usually extraordinary happy when someone comes along and changes everything.

I saw someone talk about how Chuuya always got up and continued on even after all the misfortune he has gone through while Dazai was afraid to try, knowing everything he would never want to lose is always lost the moment he obtains it. That was a brilliant way to see it. Chuuya challenged Dazai and from the beginning, and he wanted to hate him for it.

But time goes on, as it always does and suddenly Chuuya knows that he's most probably human after all. Does this make this 'analysis' all for nought? I don't think so, because I adore the themes of humanity in BSD and this is more an analysis from the perspective of teenage soukoku. Chuuya no longer struggles as much with his humanity and Dazai feels more than he ever has before, even if it's not "the correct way" to feel and think.

Conclusion:

Dazai views humanity as a state of mind and Chuuya views it as a state of body. They both are what the other one wished they could be and that's one of the reasons they had a lot of actual conflict as teenagers.

"uh, yeah, i guess. . ." chuuya doesn't consider himself a jealous person, but hearing you compliment akutagawa with that sparkle in your eyes does make him feel a little, strange. it's like his stomach twists into knots as soon as you mention his fellow mafia member's name—the two of them have never really gotten along that well, but now that his pretty girlfriend is beaming over him, well—akutagawa's just a little more irritating now than he was before.

"i don't know, don't you think it's pretty cool? i just love the way it looks! when he goes all, rashōmon!" you make a play serious face with your brows furrowed, and chuuya looks away.

he looks down at his hands—akutagawa damn sure isn't as powerful as he is, so why are you going on and on about him like he's some sort of god? chuuya actually is a god—well, part of him, anyways—so why aren't you beaming over him instead?

no, chuuya isn't jealous—he refuses to admit it to himself.

"babe? what's wrong?" you look up from the game you're playing on your phone when he doesn't respond, a look of concern in your eyes.

"huh?" chuuya pulls himself away from his thoughts, "ah, nothing, just tired." he emphasizes the last word to try and convince you, but the look on your face tells him you're not buying it.

your eyes are still on him, an inquisitive look in them. please don't ask him the question he's dreading most—are you jealous, chuuya? being in a serious relationship is new to him, but feeling like this certainly wasn't something he expected when getting together with you. he doesn't regret falling in love with you, but sometimes, the feelings you pull from him are overwhelming and consuming and altogether just unfamiliar to him—he's still getting used to them.

instead of speaking up again, you simply turn back to your phone, looking a little defeated—probably from being ignored, and chuuya can't handle the slight sadness you're clearly trying to hide.

chuuya has always catered to you and spoiled you—ignoring something you've said hurts him more than it hurts you. he figures he should probably just tell you why he's annoyed—you've never judged him for anything before, right? why would you start now? still, he doesn't want to risk you being turned off or disappointed in him for feeling something as weak-hearted as rudimentary jealousy.

"akutagawa's skill isn't that great," he mumbles, sounding spiteful.

your eyes widen as your head whips in his direction, an accusatory finger pointed at him as soon as the words leave his lips, "i knew it! you're jealous, chuuya." your tone is more playful than scrutinizing, your pretty smile still showing nothing but love and affection for him, but chuuya still rolls his eyes. 

"i'm not jealous! akutagawa's weak ass skill could never make me jealous, get fuckin' real." he's speaking a bit louder in defense but his words lack any malice—he's always soft with you, he doesn't think he could be mad at you even if he tried, and he's still not sure what to do with this new softened nature of his.

"ah yes, yes, very convincing," you tease, turning back to your phone. chuuya both loves and hates your quick wit sometimes—you make him frustrated and excited and intrigued all at the same time, he's never understood how one person could captivate him so much.

he scoffs before turning away, and your teasing gives a little. "aw, c'mon baby, 'm just kidding—i just like his skill, that's all! it's not like i'm into him." chuuya isn't convinced, "anyways, your skill is sooo much cooler, you're the strongest skill user in the entire port mafia, right?"

he knows you're just stroking his ego now, but he appreciates the praise, nonetheless. "in the entire world, actually." chuuya hates the words before they even come out of his mouth—fine, he's jealous.

you roll your eyes, "yes, of course, that's what i meant." you climb into his lap, placing soft kisses on his face and trailing them down his neck, little groans leaving his lips as he inhales your perfume and drowns in the feeling of your clothed cunt grinding against his hardening cock. "maybe i should remind you that i'm yours? that sound good?"

for a 12 year old, you were a bit small bc of malnourishment (which makes atsushi feel so bad) so both dazai and kunikida thought you were a bit younger than you actually were

they assumed you were about 9-10ish

you and atsushi both share a favorite food !! chazuke :)

so when kunikida treated the two of you, he made sure you got more bowls bc like i mentioned above, he feels really bad that you were malnourished and under weight

when dazai went with your brother to the warehouse, you were with kunikida

imagine the surprise of the other ada members when kunikida came in with a little girl dressed in rags that popped out from behind him

kenji was the one who vocalized his thoughts

So my dear friend @kittytudor and I were discussing some takes the fandom has on Dazai and especially his interactions with Mori and I thought I’d share

I really hate the train of thought that goes like “they’re super smart so they know life has no meaning and nothing matters” like that’s cynical for no reason whatsoever and just nihilistic

Yea when you are intelligent you see all the bad in the world and feel like you’re powerless to stop it a lot of times but the things is

You know scientists see beauty in everything geologist will get excited about literal dirt a marine biologist about a gold fish. When you’re intelligent you see all the bad but also all the good

However it’s easier to see the bad and often times it clouds your view but part of the healing process is starting to see beauty and happiness in the smallest things and I think that’s a journey Dazai is slowly going on.

So I really don’t think intelligence is the issue here and I’m gonna assume you’re an edgy bastard if you say so

I feel like Dazai’s issue is more the environment than anything and the lack of meaningful relationships. I know we clown the scene where he says actually living is okay now 1 day after meeting Chuuya but here is the thing. This might have been the first time he had someone his age who wanted to hang out with him or even less just someone his age who tolerated him. I personally know nothing about his life pre mafia but you can assume it wasn’t a good life if at age 14 you decide the bloody mafia is preferable to wherever you’re at at the moment

In my opinion Mori didn’t encourage it per se but he didn’t try to stop it either I really think that for him he did not expect Dazai would go through with it (again) and /or as cruel as it sounds if he actually did it which Mori didn’t think was likely he had one less rival to worry about but I really think that’s Mori’s reasoning for staying “neutral” for lack of a better word on this issue

That being said I’m sure being surrounded by death and suffering did not do any good for an already depressed 14/15yo

Which leads me to the second point. I really don’t think Mori expected Dazai to leave or tried to make him leave. For Mori Dazai was a powerful asset because of his ability and because of his intelligence that y’all are obsessed with. So why would you want to push that person away and it’s not like he was encouraging him to suicide here which would make much more sense than wanting him to leave.

And I have evidence

I’m gonna start it with: Oda did not die to set an example I don’t think so no. In his conversation with Chuuya he said something like “being a leader means making sacrifices for the well being of the group” or something like that and that’s what he did here.

He sacrifices Oda to get the permit.

The strange thing is I do think Mori meant what he said to Chuuya that he is a leader but also a servant to the mafia he wants the mafia to gain more power and that’s why he did what he did to get the permit.

I do think it could be a lesson to Dazai but not in the “if you cross me this is gonna happen to you” because Oda didn’t cross him Oda didn’t want power he is the last person who was interested in that. I think if anything it was more a lesson as in “when you take over this is something you’ll have to do and I’m showing you how it’s done”

Evidence for that is he was chuckling when he mentioned that possibility that Dazai would kill him and take one someday. And I agree that Mori

Wouldn’t mind if that was better for the Mafia. Like he wouldn’t make it easy for him and he wouldn’t give up but if he is defeated he wouldn’t be angry or annoyed because like I mentioned above I do think he was genuine when he said he is also a servant to the Mafia

My other piece of evidence is that when he showed Dazai the permit he seemed proud of what he’s done. The way he presented it and the entire scenario he seemed proud more than smug. If he really wanted Dazai out I feel like he would’ve been more smug about the whole thing and we know he can do that well.

And obviously there is also the fact he offered him not once but twice to come back. And what’s interesting is that the first time the offer was secret like he sent Gin and Higuchi and it was in a shady ass tunnel

Now the other time is where it gets interesting because it was very public in front of Dazai’s colleagues the black lizard and Fukuzawa.

Now Mori is a smart guy but also he has a sense of pride as we learned so I really don’t think he would risk being humiliated in front of Fukuzawa of all people just to mess with Dazai and he seemed genuinely surprised when Dazai said “you kicked me” and he didn’t offer him to just come back no he offered to be back as an executive and having Dazai decline and clown him in front of Fukuzawa like that I don’t think he would risk that if he was just playing

The thing is Mori is smart but he has tunnel vision in my opinion. He was so focused on getting the permit he forgot that this plan has consequences that aren’t just “we get the permit”

And also one of Mori’s issues is that he never takes into consideration people’s emotions. You can predict human Behavior to a certain degree a lot of times you can know what to

Say or what to do to get a certain result but the thing is humans aren’t algorithms they don’t always operate on logic they have emotions. And these emotions can be so strong that they override any crumb of logic left which is something I think Mori fails to understand. That’s why he didn’t expect Dazai to leave he forgot about the emotional factor.

That’s what Mori lacks but Dazai has and my evidence for this is a scenario we laughed at because it was presented in a funny way but I think that’s something that shows that Dazai is better at this 4D chess game than Mori.

On the Moby Dick he knew that Akutagawa would abandon everything to talk to him. If Dazai only operates by thinking about logical Behavior he wouldn’t have told Atsushi to do this but he realises that the emotional factor is one of the strongest drives humans have.

And you know I think Mori knows that when it comes to 4D chess Dazai would defeat him but he doesn’t mind that he isn’t scared of that. In dead Apple he couldn’t have possibly known the whole business with the pill but he told Chuuya to interfere. Mori has a strange sense of trust towards Dazai even now that they’re part of different sides.

I think Mori is has always been aware that although he says he does Dazai doesn’t actually want to die and I think the scene with the hyper and hypo tension medication in 15 shows this. If you actually want to die why would you Mix medicine with effects that cancel out each other and Mori is a doctor he knows this. That’s why I think he didn’t expect Dazai to commit and that he believes Dazai actually wants to live and because of that he will try and preserve himself and by extension Yokohama which is why he told Chuuya to go in dead apple, which is why he let Akutagawa go on the Moby Dick in season 2 because he realized Dazai wanted him to go there and he trusts Dazai to a certain degree .

I really feel like his underestimated the emotional factor and this will ultimately lead to his downfall. Like he didn’t expect Dazai to leave he wouldn’t expect anyone to react super emotional to god knows what he’ll do and thereby underestimate their response to that which will make him meet his end.

I don’t think the “you kicked me” is Dazai in denial he acted ok emotions or at least that’s not the whole thing. I think that Dazai’s reasoning for saying that is this:

Oda died so Mori can get more power which was part of Mori’s plan all along so looking at the bigger picture it was Mori’s plan and actions who drove me out of the Mafia so he basically “kicked me out”

Also I wanna add that I feel like Mori because he underestimates the emotional factor he doesn’t understand to this day why Dazai left like he knows it’s related to oda he can follow that train of events but in his mind it doesn’t make logical sense why Dazai would do that which is why he didn’t manage to win Dazai over back to The Mafia because in his mind be doesn’t know the logical reason why Dazai left which is also another reason why he was so surprised when Dazai said he kicked him

Also I’d like to add that I really don’t think he felt threatened or wanted to just get rid of him

Dazai was already suicidal so if it would very easy to make it look like that. And like I mentioned before if it was the best choice for the Mafia I really don’t think Mori would be that bothered about being replaced by Dazai.

I also don’t think he thought Dazai would be more useful on the outside because once again why lose a valuable addition like that

And it’s not like

He wanted to use him

As a spy or anything we know that would’ve been arranged differently see Ango

So Mori the logical guy he is wouldn’t want his enemies to have someone with Dazai’s ability because that’s a pain in the ass and also

He wouldn’t want an insider like Dazai to join his enemies and spill all his secrets. Dazai had a very high rank and like I said I don’t think Mori expected him to leave so he had no reason to hide things from

him so even without his ability he would be a very strong asset to the Mafias enemies so there is no way Mori would think he is more useful on the outside since

1. we already said mori has tunnel vision he couldn’t possibly predict that much that he thinks Dazai is better out

2. We established that he isn’t afraid of him

3. He wouldn’t want the ability and the information to fall into his enemies’ hands

4. If he was actually scared and wanted to get rid of him making it seem like suicide or actually driving him to suicide would be much easier especially since mori is a doctor

a/n: happy Valentine’s Day!!! Normally I was gonna make this one big thing but my writing style for all this so far and “the second part” don’t carry the same vibe. (Also it was getting v long) Anyways, enjoy. I still suck at naming fics. — part 2 !!

“You could feel the bomb going off and suddenly-“ Doctor Yosano stops looking at the clock, “Oh it’s been that long already? I shouldn’t keep you waiting for any longer” she motions with her hand to you with a smile.

“It’s alright, I enjoy hearing your stories.” You smile back. “If it’s alright with you and no new cases show up, would you like the finish the story tomorrow at my place? Maybe over a cup of tea or a glass of wine?”

The glint in her eyes tell you the answer long before. “Only if the infamous pastries Ranpo cannot get enough of are there!” Yosano says with enthusiasm and all you can do is nod and share the excitement.

As she proceeds to get her coat and bag, you decide to wait until you hear someone else speak up.

“I thought you didn’t like to have people over?” Atsushi asks standing behind you with a stack of papers and files.

Eyes closed, you hum “True, true… But I make an exception for some, dear. Where did you think we baked all those for Kyouka?”

Stopping for a second to recall that day Atsushi scratches his head. The moment of realization comes to him fast, apparent from the sudden change of expression and the wide smile on his face “Oh! You’re-“

“I thought you didn’t allow anyone in the kitchen!” Ranpo exclaims rather loudly, slamming the newspaper he was reading moments ago onto his table.

Tilting back and forth from where you’re standing and occasionally looking for Yosano to come back, you turn to where his voice came from. “That rule only applies to you, I’m afraid. No matter what an amazing detective you are, cooking and baking simply aren’t your forte.” With one hand in the air as if offering the plainest of truths, you say.

“However you’re still my most trusted taster, so please don’t make that face?” You finish with an apologetic smile and hearing a low rumble coming from him, you let out a breath thinking you’re off the hook.

You thought wrong.

As Yosano’s heels clank against the surface, you can feel a persistent gaze on your back, already sensing what’s to come next. Before you can make an attempt to the door however, Dazai announces your name, in a whine no less, coming a little too closer than you expected right behind your ear.

Slowly turning back to see his smug face, right in your personal space just as you guessed, you refrain from rolling your eyes. “What was it Dazai? Is something the matter?”

Coming all the way from wherever he was previously , he couldn’t be here now for anything other than to bother you. You just hoped Yosano would show up and drag you away before your patience was tested again.

Raising his arm and resting the back of his hand against his forehead, eyes closed and mouth open, as if a he were a character straight out of a tragedia, Dazai opts for the dramatic route. “Yes! I’ve just been informed of horrifying news!”

“Which is?..” you leave the statement unfinished, already knowing what’s to come.

“That you never invited me over to your house! And we’ve been friends for the longest time! What our live have come to, have we driven so far away from ea-“

“Enough with the antics Dazai, we’re busy, can’t you see?” Your savior, Yosano cuts in putting a hand over your shoulder. Turning to look at her, you mouth a ‘thank you.’, and you think she has never looked as beautiful as she does in this moment now, with the golden sun behind her setting, the lights illuminating her face, making her look like those heroes painted to be immortalized.

As you step out, you hear Yosano stop and say: “And for the record, I’ve known them the longest.”

The day spent with Yosano goes better than you could accept. By the end your face hurts from laughing, your stomach full from all the food and drinks you’ve consumed, times flies away like a plane and by the time Yosano makes way to the door, it’s dark and you’re both dragging your feet.

Despite the enjoyable day off, Dazai’s recent behavior starts to make you question if it was worth inviting her over so publicly.

At any chance he gets, he tries to get you to give away something about your location, who has been over before and how many times, what type of hosts you prefer and ‘oh maybe we never got the chance because of our schedules, you should invite me over some time’, ‘don’t be so shy, we’re friends after all! Oh is it your place you’re ashamed of? Worry not, I won’t judge!’, ‘hey are you free on a Thursday night?’s met with ‘No, I don’t want you over.’, ‘Yes, I have a very good reasoning.’ And almost a slip up of a ‘I’m free- Oh wait, I have a date with Sergio, sorry no can do!’.

For each cheeky smile he offers, you give back a grunt or a snarl, one time almost yelling right in front of the director and another time you stomp out of the office in fury while Atsushi watches in horror.

Fifth time of your hiding in the café and you find yourself wishing for a crisis to surface, the carefree Dazai to be replaced by the serious and logical man that manages to impress you no matter how hard the case, counter measure after counter measure, even if he takes reckless risks once in a while.

Inhaling the sweet smell of your tea before taking a sip, your wish seems to have come true partially, from the set of steps approaching you in a determined yet unrushed pace.

Taking a long sip, savoring the taste and the warmth of it, you slowly place the cup down and open your eyes to see Dazai standing in his neutral and calm state.

The two of you stay like that for a while, like a photograph, the café empty and the mixed smells of coffee and tea lingering in the air, not quite looking at one another but not dozed off either.

When he opens his mouth, it doesn’t feel like the moment has been broken, not even a clearing of throat or a quite mumbling under his breath beforehand, yet his voice flows along the smells despite the absurdity of the topic of conversation.

But you beat him to it. “If you’re going to be standing for so long, you might as well sit down.”

He settles down as you reach for your cup again.

“So, how are things with Sergio?” He says the name with a hint of hostility.

It takes everything in you not to spit out your tea laughing. “Sergio is a street cat I take care of.”

Composure and crossed arms off, Dazai’s eyes widen. “But- you said that-“ “A date with Sergio, yes, for his yearly check up at the vet.” You finish for him.

“That was just an excuse to get you to stop bothering me.” You add.

“Fair enough, I deserved that.” He chuckles “but you did mention you had a very good reasoning for not inviting me over. I know I pestered you enough about that…” he trails off, reaching for your hand with his. “And yet, would you be so kind to tell me why?” he asks, eyes locked into yours.

“My cat doesn’t like you.”

And this, you think, is the exact moment the atmosphere is ruined, the photograph ripped apart in the middle.

Dazai just stares at you, still holding your hand.

Blinking few times, rather unimpressed, you notice a waitress by the counter, probably there to rearrange something.

“Alright, I’ll be off now if that’s all!” You say a bit too cheerfully, pull your hand before Dazai can do anything, pay and leave as soon as you can.

Dazai just blinks, hands still in the air, stays frozen like that until Kunikida drags him back to work.

Bad decision after bad decision seems to follow you wherever you go because after that interaction at the café, it gets worse.

You thought Dazai was like a fruit fly before? It gets more irritating than an army of them. And on top of that, Kunikida scolds you to undo whatever you’ve done on Dazai, his already poor work ethics now on the floor, getting on Kunikida’s nerves and yours.

Hearing your name spreads terror in you now, the second your ears catch the familiar tone of Dazai’s voice, you fleet for your life.

Coming clean and explaining your statement from earlier would be the logical way to end this but fate disagrees as it laughs you in the face.

“Why wouldn’t your cat like me? I didn’t even step foot into your place before!”

“Hey Dazai, remember the day you wouldn’t get off my back? Trying to embrace at any chance and I gave up in the middle of the day at one point?” Resting his hand under his chin to think, as if his face doesn’t make it obvious he remembers the day crystal clear, he lets out a “hmm…”

With a snap of fingers and a “Ah! I remember now! You were so comfortable, I almost fell asleep.” He grins.

With a shake of your hand, trying to dismiss the memory of how he basically trapped you to the couch, you cough and continue. “That evening, when I got home, my clothes must have reeked of your smell.” He nods, good, so far he seems to follow. “My cat just sniffed the air once and stayed in the living room until I washed those clothes and took a bath.”

Hands resting on his hips, he keeps nodding and humming in understanding. “I see…”

You let out a breath, thank god it’s over.

“Nope! Still makes no sense.” Hs exclaims suddenly, turns away and leaves. You just stare at his back, now it’s your turn to blink in ‘unbelievable, is this real?’

The loud chatter and pestering doesn’t stop however and with each word, it gets more ridiculous.

“Is your cat perhaps jealous of me? That you secretly love me and they don’t want competition?”

“The cat is just another excuse, isn’t it! Admit it, you have a secret! It must be something you’re afraid I won’t like.”

“Is it Chuuya? Did you take pity and let him rent a room?”

“I don’t even know a Chuuya…”

“Maybe a weird collection…” he gasps and says your name. “Are you a hoarder? Is that why you won’t let me in? I told you already, I would never judge your lifestyle!”

“Dazai, please stop-“

“No, no, I got it this time. It’s a shrine of me! Isn’t it? Your face tells it all, it is a shrine! Ah, I must say I’m flattered, if not a little scared now.”

If anger could set a fire, you think Kunikida would be arrested of arson right now. You just rest your head in your palm, trying to ignore Dazai’s ongoing nonsense.

“Is there really a-“ Kenji begins a question as Ranpo ends it with a firm “Nope!”

Getting up from your place at last, you grab Dazai by his coat and drag him out.

“There is No shrine, no other human, no hoarding or weird collections. It’s just me and my cat who scrunches his nose when I bring home a file that sat in your desk all day!”

Before giving him a chance to reply, you walk away.

The next day, and many other days to follow, goes uneventful, Dazai’s never ending bickering about your house seems to have reached a stop. Everyone, especially Kunikida, enjoys the newly achieved peace of going back to normal. You hope this marks the end of this whole nonsense, and that the Dazai everyone knows with a little mix of annoying and impressively serious has returned back to his sense of regular.

In honour of Chuuya’s birthday (and my first post on this sideblog), bsd (but mostly Chuuya) headcannons.

-Chuuya likes rock music. Any sort of rock is good but he especially likes classic rock

-He does have a love of Taylor swift tho. Higuchi is #1 swiftie and they (along with Tachihara, who also listens to taylor swift) got together when red (Taylor’s version) came out to listen to it.

-Ango has a fear of spiders (which was discovered when Dazai put one of those fake spider things in his coat pocket and when Ango found it he nearly fell over)

-Chuuya and Dazai, when they were teenagers, went to an amusement park (for a mission or to mess around idc) and at Chuuya’s insistence they went on a lot of the rides. Chuuya is 100% an adrenaline junkie and loves roller coasters more the faster/more exciting they are and forced Dazai to come with him. Dazai absolutely hates the roller coasters and after getting off one of them he threw up and then they went home.

-Yosano taught Kenji how to make friendship bracelets once and so he made one for Kyouka when she joined the ADA and Kyouka thought it was amazing and so she asked Kenji to teach her. They ended up making friendship bracelets for everyone in the ADA

-Poe once offhandedly referenced the gummy bear song to Ranpo but Ranpo got really interested and listened to it and then ended up loving it and played it everywhere in the ADA for days.

-Chuuya likes to take photos of things and places so he has a whole collection of photographs but he mostly tucks them away into books because he thinks it’s dangerous to have photos of himself/people he cares about/places he’s been or frequently goes lying around.

-Dazai hated having his photo taken in the PM but on occasion he let Chuuya get pictures of him and when he left he took one (a picture of one of the rare moments of peace between them, Chuuya in the kitchen and swatting Dazai’s hand away from the food. It had actually been taken by Kouyou with Chuuya’s camera). The rest of them, Chuuya tucked into his least favorite poetry book that he owned.

-Chuuya is shockingly good at puzzle and tabletop games. He’s absolutely cracked at things like wordle and the PM learned quickly that Chuuya is very good at chess (because he and Dazai used to play a lot, though Chuuya never won against him).

-The PM has a game night, the black lizard run it and invite whoever they want to each week but Elise is always there, whether they told her when it was or not

-Games of twister get very competitive.

-Gin once won, after Tachihara was unable to bend over her because she held a knife out over her thigh so he couldn’t lean against her without getting cut.

-Higuchi loves to be dealer in card games and knows a lot of cool card tricks.

-Elise dominates in monopoly.

-Dazai and Ranpo love to go to movie theatres and watch random movies and then review them like professional critics online later. Dazai often comments how boring a lot of the movies are and Ranpo says how murder mystery movies could’ve been better.

-Chuuya has the top score at dance dance revolution in the arcade he and Dazai went to.

-Every year on his birthday, Chuuya takes the day off and wanders around Yokohama and anywhere nearby, visiting places that are important to him. This includes a lot of graveyards.

➳ Nakahara Chuuya

You and Chuuya always look forward to the weekend.

It's the time that you could both be together for a whole day or two without interruptions.

Chuuya always makes sure that he won't be summoned over the weekend, unless it's really urgent.

He has already planned to stay at home with you, just watching your favorite movies/series, making food, or just lounging around all day.

But sometimes, Chuuya would want to take you someplace far away from all the stress that you experience on a daily basis.

He'd take you to your favorite restaurants, or a quick trip to the beach maybe? It all depends on your mood.

He'd also take you shopping if you wanted to (he likes to spoil you like that).

Chuuya will focus all his attention on you, since he's been craving this comfort and relaxation for the whole week.

To top off your weekend, Chuuya would take you to a beautiful clearing and just stargaze with you.

You'd sit in front of him, his arms wrapped securely around your waist and his chin resting on your shoulder.

"Did you have fun today, Y/N?"

You hum in response and look up at the sky, "This is the best, Chuuya."

"I'm glad," Chuuya says as he pecks your cheek. "I wish we could stay like this forever."

You nod and place your hands on top of his, "I'll be happy as long as you're with me."

You could feel his heartbeat sync with yours as he takes your chin and turns your head to face him.

"That's what I was thinking," He smiles. "I will love you forever, princess."

It's a great way to end the night, with Chuuya's lips on yours, as you kiss underneath the starry night sky.

Weekends with Dazai are spent lying in bed all day, your arms wrapped around each other, as you get the sleep that you deserve.

Dazai knows just how stressful your week went and he wasn't gonna lie, he was also pretty stressed out.

He loves the weekends because he'd get to spend the whole two days with you, no distractions, no work.

not like he gets any work done anyway

It's just you and him, away from the stress and ugliness of the world.

You'd get him to watch some movies with you but it would just end up as background noise because you're falling asleep again.

Dazai finds it endearing and he loves it when you rest your head on his shoulder or chest

You're both content with this.

You don't really need to go someplace else because you're happy to be with Dazai like this.

When night falls, you'll see Dazai bringing some cushions and blankets with him to your living room.

"What are you doing?" You ask, kind of amused, as you see him working hard to make it look neat and comfy.

He'll simply motion for you to come over and you settle on the space beside him.

"I wanted to build a fort earlier but I failed so here we are," He smiles as he pulls you in his embrace.

Dazai idly plays with your hair and plants a kiss on the top of your head.

"Being with you like this is the best reward after a tiring week," Dazai says as he lays down and looks at the ceiling.

You lay down with him and start talking about different things. You even made plans for your next weekend together and you couldn't be more excited.

This is how your weekend usually goes, you and Dazai just laze around all day.

But if you'd like to go somewhere, Dazai will definitely accompany you.

All that matters is that his belladonna is happy.

➳ Kunikida Doppo

Of course Kunikida has your entire weekend already planned out.

But does it go accordingly to his schedule? Not all the time.

He had planned to go to a flea market with you and you were up for it.

But he hasn't anticipated that you would take a lot of time going through each of the merchandise.

You were also caught up in talking to the vendors and asking for discounts and such.

At one point, your attention got caught by a bunch of puppies at a nearby café and you immediately went over to play with them.

And there goes his schedule for the day.

But seeing your smile and hearing your laughter as one of the dogs licked your cheek, Kunikida couldn't help the smile that tugged on his lips.

And so he's closing his notebook and tucking it away, deciding to just go with the flow for once.

Kunikida loves your carefree attitude and bright personality that's why he lets you drag him along the rest of the way.

You'd stop by a few more stores, not really buying anything but just simply admiring things.

But once you see something that's on sale, you bet that Kunikida would buy it and brag about how much you've saved.

And you loved that part of him.

He was strict and methodical but with you he was a little more loose.

You love how he puts you first and how honest he is with his emotions towards you.

"I had a lot of fun today Kuni," You smile at him as you take a sip of your drink. Kunikida brought you to your favorite restaurant and it was the best way to end the night.

"I'm sorry we couldn't stick to your schedule though," You pout as you reach a hand out to him.

Kunikida shakes his head and laces his fingers with yours.

"That's okay," Again, he's so honest with you and you can see it in his eyes, and the small smile on his lips as he says, "We didn't need that anyway. I'm just happy I got to spend this weekend with you."

Instead, he sends the majority of the kids off to other houses that Watari had built, save for his top three successors. Near, Mello, and Matt all move into the Task Force HQ and, despite L's "best efforts" to prevent it (read: he's totally just pretending to stop them to please the others), they continually find themselves thrown in the middle of the investigation. I'm also not 100% certain how I want this to end, but I do know that it's going to be endgame L/Light and Matt/Mello.

I debated not doing it, but I know that a lot of people enjoy closure, so I thought it would be fun! I invented a new villain and a new ability and I found an excuse to drag some Guild members into it as well. Essentially, Ranpo reopens the case after the funeral and uses the strange behavior of Steinbeck to corner and catch the elusive ability user. I'm personally proud of the ability I created, so I'm going to keep it a secret for now.

This one is actually based on a post that has since been deleted proposing the idea of a soulmate AU where the name of your soulmate is written on the inside of your book in the Four O'clock Library. I shook it up a bit and added the idea that if you read your soulmate's name, people will begin to forget they exist and you have to confess your love to them within a week or they will disappear from existence entirely. Akane didn't think it would be a problem to go and confirm his soulmate-- it's obviously Aoi-- only to discover a very different name written in his book. Knowing his time limit, he struggles to find a loophole in the curse that would help him avoid confessing a love he doesn't feel. In the meantime, people are slowly starting to forget who Teru Minamoto is, with Akane being the only one to remember, forcing them to spend even more time together. This one is going to have a happy ending, but it's going to be a really close call!

This is a sequel to Lovely that I've been playing around with. Someone expressed that they wanted to see how Robby's father would react to their situation and that got me thinking about it. In a misguided gesture of good faith, Hatchi's parents invite Robby's family up to the moon to help celebrate either his birthday or their first anniversary. Much to Robby's surprise, they agree to come, leaving him with an awkward mess of judgement to deal with until they leave. I still haven't decided how this will end, but I know it's going to be on either a positive or bittersweet note.

It's just a collection of seven mini-stories that are all collected throughout the span of one week in-universe. Everyone is going to give Joe a visit for different reasons and I'm excited to see how it turns out!

A fantasy AU in which Fukuzawa and Mori are the kings of two rival kingdoms, Ada and the Port Kingdom (I'll probably change the names lol). Fukuzawa has no genetic heirs, but he had taken in a number of wards, one of which will be chosen to succeed him. Mori has two children, and the prince was born with a terrible curse that leaves his reputation soaked in blood. Atsushi, one of Fukuzawa's wards, is also cursed and feels that Prince Ryuunosuke is just like him; that he can be saved with some kindness and compassion. Despite being warned not to, he sneaks out and attends a ball intended to find the prince a suitor. While there, he unknowingly defends the prince from a number of attackers, which, while unnecessary, piques Ryuunosuke's interest. The two run away together, but wind up being sidetracked by an advancing enemy and wind up lost. Chuuya, a knight from the PK, is sent by Mori to go and find his son. Dazai, Atsushi's mentor and ward of Fukuzawa, is sent to go and locate the weretiger after he does not come to breakfast in the morning. Chuuya and Dazai run into each other while searching for their respective people, which leads to them teaming up to find them while Atsushi and Ryuunosuke are trying their hardest not to be found.

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT ABT THE BSD MANGA ILY THANK YOU I FEEL LIKE MY OPINION IS FINALLY VALIDATED WHICH IS: BSD has turned meh. I have become indifferent towards the plot due to the fact there are no real stakes - I feel like the OP characters like Dazai will always have a solution with a deus ex machina feel to it, making it impossible for me to care. With the recent chaos happening in the manga (I too gave up on the manga a year or so ago!), I was baffled to find out I could no longer enjoy it. My memory is poor, and I can't really pinpoint it at the moment, but BSD just... doesn't engage me as it used to. Keep in mind I was an obsessive fan of it and analyzed it to the tiniest details, but all of my great love for the series has long died, sadly. But! I am glad to hear you feel similarly about it because, yes, the potential was there, but it got terribly wasted.

Bruh don't I feel it, me and @autumn-foxfire have like monthly bitch sessions about the state of bsd at this point. I was also super invested in it in initial arcs (Up until the guild arc ended) and then slowly started petering off only to drop it the first time around the hunting dogs introduction. Then after some time i was like okay ill go give it a second shot, came to the vampire arc went 'wow this is really fuckin stupid' and dropped it again. Idk will I pick it up again, maybe I'll just stick to being an anime only, even tho I also have problems with some adaptation things but that's BESIDES THE POINT.

The thing about Kafka is: He's really good at coming up with interesting concepts and ideas and REALLY BAD at executing them in any sort of satisfying way. Like, when I say I only like bsd until the end of the guild arc, I don't mean it was perfect. It could have handled it's female cast better, it would have been fun to see more mafia and agency team ups besides soukoku and shin soukoku, I still don't get why shin soukoku is supposed to be a replacement in training since Dazai and Chuuya still work together perfectly and even if they hate each other they hate each other less than Akutagawa and Atsushi AND have way more experience fighting together but that once again is besides the point. The point being those arcs of bsd were SATISFYING. We got introduced to two organizations, seen them butt heads and then have them forced to work together against a common enemy. It's very simple but it's effective and it's satisfying.

And then the rats struck.

While up until then bsd wasn't perfect it was fun and had lovable characters and an interesting plot and engaging dynamics. Rats arc wasn't horrible per say, the idea of the cannibalization was really fun (Though I think Kafka should have used it to get rid of Mori, nobody fuckin likes Mori) but this is where we slowly get introduced to what I think are two main failings of Kafka's writing: That he's unable to handle characters properly and that he likes writing smart things but doesn't know how to write smart things.

Kafka has a very, very bad habit of INTRODUCING TOO MANY FUCKING CHARCTERS. Every arc is a new massive group with like a bunch of members, one of who may actually end up being fleshed out before they are inventiblely replaced by another large group or maybe two why the fuck not. The mafia and the guild left lasting impressions on me and I can still name all the main members but fuck me if i know a single rat aside from Fyodor (AND ILL GET TO FYODOR). Kafka feels like someone who's idea of rising conflict is 'introduce a bigger enemy each time' and it's just so annoying. Chapters and arcs end up centering around these groups of new characters while old characters, who we loved the manga for, just fall into obscurity. He almost had me in the hunting dogs arc by giving Yosano a backstory. I was so excited! I was like!!! finally development for the agency!!! But that barely went anywhere did it. I've talked about this with Foxy but it really feels like Kafka is just BORED of the og characters and is trying to silently sideline them for his new shiny characters. When's the last time we saw Chuuya again, you know, the ex partner of one of the series protagonists? The next predicted mafia head? Is he important? Foxy tells me Dazai's been sidelined too, fUCKIN DAZAI, for a good while I was sure Kafka liked Dazai a lot better than Atsuhi for protagonist and now he's getting sidelined. I know bsd is still really popular in japan but at this point i think it would have been more merciful for Kafka to just end bsd and start a new manga with new characters instead of doing whatever weird metamorphosis this is turning out to be.

Introducing new characters isn't a bad thing of course, but bsd has become mcdonalds of new characters. They are cheap and disposable. I can't feel anything for them because I know nine times out of ten they'll barely make any impact and they'll disappear as soon as the new group slides in. When adding new characters you should do so while knowing what role those characters will play in your plot, what will they bring. If a character is just there to waffle around until they get shoved away they should probably be cut because they are wasting time and space. AND YOU SHOULDN'T SIDE LINE YOUR CORE CAST FOR UR SHINY NEW CHARACTERS YOU'LL GET BORED OF IN COUPLE OF ARCS ANYWAY, ARE YOU A TODDLER???

I still think that bsd could have been SO much better if instead of focusing on the next big evil group they just focused on shifting tension between the agency and the mafia. I mean they've had to team up for the guild and then they immediately got thrown into the cannibalization. It would have been interesting to see them pull against and pull towards those ties made during the guild arc when they are forcefully pitted against each other again (and decide that killing mori would be in everyone's best interest). Instead we got, idk I already forgot what the rats arc ended up being about, atsushi and aku team up again yadda yadda yadda, Chuuya gets done dirty and never recovers, Fyodor ruins Dazai

SO ABOUT FYODOR. As I said, Kafka strikes me as someone who REALLY likes to write geniuses and who wants people to think he's super smart but also has no idea how to show his work. At first this was okay. We had Dazai and Ranpo who were very good at pushing the plot along and sometimes you'd get explained how they got to that conclusion and sometimes you didn't but it usually wasn't a big deal. But then the writing became more and more and more of 'well he's smart so he figured it out so just trust me' without actually explaining anything and as you said, it ended up feeling boring, unengaging and very deus ex machina. You know what Kafka's writing reminds me off? That video about how Sherlock is so happy to stroke itself to how smart they look while never showing their work, you know the one. Kafka likes writing smart characters but doesn't actually know how to write smart characters so instead of giving us reasons and clues and explanations to how they come to some conclusion, how they predicted or planned or whatever, he just goes 'oh well they are super smart so they figured it out'. I don't think I need to explained why this is bad, annoying and unengaging writing. This is why i say Fyodor ruined Dazai for me, Dazai was fine as a genius but then they had to pit him against Fyodor who's another genius and things just got ridiculous. You know how in that sherlock video the guy points out the one scene that encapsulates every irritating thing about sherlocks writing. This had been it for me and BSD (thank you Foxy for helping me find the panels)

THATS NOT HOW CODES WORK, THATS NOT HOW ANYTHING WORKS, THEY WOULD JUST BE COMING UP WITH TWO DIFFERENT SETS OF CODES HERE. Even if they were both smart enough to remember every conversation in detail, how on earth are they supposed to 'guess out' what the other means. How are they supposed to confirm or deny that's what a certain word means in a way that can be understood, how can they even guess what the word the other guessed is IF THEY ARE BOTH TALKING IN CODE. KAFKA'S ANSWER: THEY'RE MONSTERS, THEY ARE JUST THAT SMART, NO NEED TO EXPLAIN IT BECAUSE THEY ARE JUST THAT SMART AND THAT'S YOUR SOLUTION AND THAT'S BULLSHIT. This scene broke bsd in half for me and honestly made me dislike Dazai for a long time (I got better), but it honestly shows so well how Kafka wanted to make his characters so smart he actually made his manga really fuckin stupid, ruining very good and interesting concept he had started with.

In the end, Kafka writes how I wrote when I was 15. With no idea where the plot is headed, adding new characters and situations whenever it strikes his fancy whether they work for the story or not, ending up just flopping around plot holes and fizzled out character arcs and boring ass writing. And that's fine for a 15yr old writing fanfiction. It's not fine for a presumably grown ass published author of a relatively popular manga.

It is nearly evening when you finally arrive back home. The day had been eventful, to say the least. Your friends had thrown you a surprise birthday party and had dragged you with them for an afternoon going around town, because, in their words, ‘it was your day and you need to be taught how to have fun’.

They had been right, it was very much fun. You had gone to so many places and tried so many fun things, and in all the hectic excitement you almost forgot that you hadn’t heard a word from Chuuya since yesterday. But now that you are home, with the tiredness finally catching up to you, you finally begin to wonder. Just where the hell is he?

You enter your house and kick off your shoes, then frown when you hear someone moving around inside.

“Chuuya? Is that you?”

The noises stop for a while as you walk inside. Sure enough, Chuuya’s coat and hat lie discarded on the couch, and you wonder what he could possibly be doing.

Just then, you feel slender arms gently snaking around your waist from behind you, and you smile when the familiar cologne invades your senses.

“Hey, sweetheart.” He nuzzles into the side of your neck, “You’re looking prettier than usual.”

You stifle a laugh, instead choosing to roll your eyes and turn around in his arms, “If you’re trying to sweet-talk your way out of this mess, it’s not going to work. Where have you been?”

He steps back with a sheepish smile and scratches the back of his neck, “I am so sorry, (y/n). I wanted to be here and spend the whole day with you, but Mori-san sent me out of town at the last moment…”

“And you thought some job out of town disposing off threats was more important than your darling’s birthday?” you ask with a pout.

You’re not that dense. You understand his job and everything it entails, and you understand how demanding it is. So, you weren’t really all that upset. Still, it was fun to mess with him. It isn’t often you get to see the great Nakahara Chuuya fumble with his words.

“Of course not!” he said quickly, “Nothing’s more important than my baby. It’s just that…Look, babe, I’m terribly sorry, I promise I’ll make it up to you, and…”

“…Yes?”

“Uh…happy birthday?”

You snort, “Sure. Can I ask why I found you loitering in my house? It’s breaking and entering, you know?”

“Well, technically, it’s just entering because you gave me your key…” He begins sheepishly, but then immediately changes tactics when he sees the look on your face, “But that’s not important! What is important is that I’m here now, and I’m going to make it up to you a hundred times over, I pro-”

“Chuuya…” you chuckle, “It’s alright, I’m only kidding. I understand.”

He had been waving his hands around, talking quickly and excitedly, but as soon as you say the words, he lets out a sigh of evident relief. He smiles, before slowly coming over to envelope you in a hug.

“I’m so sorry, sweetheart.” He murmurs into your hair, “But…what if I say I have something to make this up to you?”

“I told you, Chuuya, it’s alr – “

“Nonsense. Come with me.”

You look at him, his blue eyes shining and tentative smile on his face, before letting him pull you along behind him. He drags you into the kitchen of all places, and you briefly wonder why all the lights were turned out.

You didn’t have to wonder for long, though, because what you see takes your breath away. In the middle of the kitchen table, illuminated by candles, there sits a lone rose in a small, sleek vase. Beside it, there is a small but elaborate cake decorated with red velvet, and beside that is an elegantly wrapped present.

You stand there in mute awe, staring at it for a full minute with wide eyes before you’re able to articulate anything at all.

“Chuuya, I…this is…I don’t know what to say”

“You don’t have to say anything.” From behind you, he gently puts his hands on the sides of your shoulders, before closing the distance between you, “This is an apology. I just got back an hour ago, so I’m sorry I couldn’t do anything more elaborate, but – “

“More elaborate?” you look at him incredulously, “Are you kidding me? Chuuya, this is amazing, you didn’t have to go through so much trouble.”

He blinks, mildly confused, “Trouble? What are you talking about? I wanted to surprise you with so much more, take you to some fancy gourmet restaurant to have dinner and bury in more presents than you can handle. Unfortunately, this was all I could manage in an hour…”

He laughs at the look you give him, before excitedly leading you towards the table. Up close, you see that the cake is heart-shaped, embellished with red velvet roses, with the words ‘for my darling’ written on it in elegant swirling letters. What next catches your eye is the small box carefully wrapped in sliver paper and topped with a golden bow.

“Go on, open it.” Chuuya says enthusiastically.

Shaking your head at his excitement, with your own bubbling over in your chest, you pick it up and slowly pull the bow loose. Inside is a sleek black box, completely blank on the outside. It opens with a click, and if you thought you couldn’t be surprised any further tonight, you were wrong.

On the satin lined inside lies the most elegant necklace you have ever seen. It’s sleek and silver, with a bright, dark blue sapphire pendant. A pendant whose colour strangely reminds you of somebody’s eyes.

With wide eyes and lips slightly parted, you stare at it before looking back at him, “Chuuya…”

“Do you like it?” he asks nervously, eyes darting between the necklace and your face, “I had it shipped from Germany a week ago, but I can have it returned if you – “

His words are cut off abruptly when you put your hand on his mouth. “Chuuya. I love it.”

“…Really?” he murmurs, after slowly lowering your hand from his mouth and taking it in his own.

You nod, “I love it so much, it’s absolutely beautiful. But you really did not have to do this.”

“Why not?” he tilts his head, before smirking, “How else am I supposed to confess my undying love to you?”

Giggling, you hand him the necklace and turn your back to him, pushing your hair to one side. His hand circles around in front of you once as he gently fastens it around your neck.

“There.” He whispers, leaning dangerously close to your ear, “All done.”

A chill goes down your spine at the proximity and you desperately try to fight off the oncoming blush as you turn around to face him, “H-how does it look?”

“Better, now that it’s on you.”

You laugh, “Shut up, you’re too cheesy.”

He holds up his hands in mock surrender, before letting out a tired sigh, and you’re suddenly hit with the realization of how completely exhausted he must be, having only come back an hour ago.

Smiling, you grab on to the front of his shirt and place a kiss on his lips, and feel him melt immediately under your touch. When you let go, he leans his forehead on yours, clear blue eyes looking even brighter in the flickering light of the candles.

“I love you.” You breathe.

He smiles, “I love you too. Happy birthday, my love.”

Honestly, both of them enjoy spending time together, being around each other presence more often than not. AtsuDany could be conversing about anything and everything if they want, or just reading, while the other draws; sleeping, while the other braids their hair, etc. Just the quality time and physical touch of it all. Takes place in the middle of Fall/Winter or during Winter! Although cool to cold outside, the atmosphere is warm and bright with dimmed lights like stars, a soft golden glow. A reception with open windows as the day goes dark! An area with a nice garden or natural setting would be great! Honestly Dany is so petite next to Atsu, even with heels, it’s adorable and he do carry her away~ much to her bashfulness,,, please everyone is cheering and watching, she’s embarrassed U///w///U but by god she is married to the best man’s ;;w;;

A close knit atmosphere with the Agency, a few Guild members, and dare I say~ even a couple Mafia members 😳. While not planned, AtsuDany are definitely in awe and just a jabbering mess of emotion when they find out! Atsushi is the upmost protective and precautious one, wanting everything to be perfect and Dany to be comfy!

While Dany is honestly the one just drifting along and still in awe of having a child. She honest to heck forgets,,, sometimes, if you can believe it, often gets scolded by her dear tiger, understandably so. Both have their doubts and worries, but work them out together and give each other comfort and reassurance.

Haruko is honestly that silent baby after birth, not many fusses or late night tears, it honestly scared and worried AtsuDany at how calm they were!

While a fairly quiet baby, as a toddler, the energy and curiosity kicked in! Becoming more explorative and excited about everything; it was also at this point that their ability began to show too! Definitely taking more after Dany’s own personally at this age. Atsushi clearly enamored but unsure on how to handle a toddler animal gifted. Dany, suddenly gaining an understanding what her parents went through with her, gradually learns to help them control their ability.

While not rambunctious as she was and definitely are more tamed, they often have those burst of energy and may have scratched or bite things (picture Wolf Children UwU). But overall just generally curious about everything! They love everyone in the Agency, especially Kenji-kun, for his strength and countryside expertise, and Ranpo-kun, we all might know why 🍬. They are patient and glimmery eyed! Happiest child there is and love their parents so much 🥺

As for other children, I haven’t really thought of; I definitely picture them having three at most. Maybe another birth and the the third will be adopted! Or whichever comes first.

I feel like it would definitely resonate within Atsushi to adopt at some point, considering his past. Dany would definitely support and love any child regardless, being an only child, she never had anyone else to play or be with. She wants Haruko to have that and any child, be it born or adopted, to have it too!

Plus, watch Haruko be so in awe and content at a new sibling! They would be over the moon and ready to protect and love them! UwU

Dazai stared at his subordinate and the white tiger passed out on the ground, dismayed. It almost worked. This was the fourth person they've went to. There was one more person Dazai could take Atsushi to but he had enough reason to guess that it wouldn't work.

Dazai made a face.

There was one person Dazai knew who could do the job. He'd successfully commit suicide though before that gremlin ever found out he had such thoughts. The taste of metallic filled his mouth. He held in the urge to spit it out.

His ears rang as he imagined a shrieking voice yelling his name like it was the worst insult one could come up with and the mirage of fire that surrounded those blue eyes and foul mouth. Ugh, he was so annoying even in his imagination...and short.

Sticking a pinky into his ear to clear out the haunting voice, Dazai went about gathering up his apprentice and the tiger. Maybe fate would take pity on him and this next trip would solve their problem...

He could feel the cursed blood laughing at him all the way back to their hotel room.

Or a magical AU where Dazai inadvertently gets Atsushi cursed and they have to go to Chuuya, a powerful witch in his own right, to break it.
