I just wanna say the way you write Hadrian's relationship with his faith is so beautiful to me, I love how strongly he believes in it while still being so accepting of those who don't share it❤️
Hadrian's been through quite a journey to get to where he is, faith-wise and, most of all, tolerance-wise. His kindness comes, in part, from his nature — Hadrian has always been naturally empathetic — but it mostly comes from experience.
To judge and to deliver punishment… is a nasty business. A business Hadrian wants to take no part in.

Daily excerpt from today's writing, chapter 18 of Underline the Blue:
‘I’m not dressed for a restaurant,’ he said. ‘We’re not going to one, are we?’
‘We sure are,’ Janusz said. ‘Also, hardly anyone who comes here is dressed up unless they want to be. We’re in the middle of nowhere, most people who end up here have ended up here after long drives, looking for somewhere to eat. The folks in the fanciest clothes are either staying in one of the chalets or want to be dressed up. As long as we’re not wearing thongs or wifebeaters, we’ll be fine.’
Nate didn’t feel very reassured when he saw how nice the restaurant looked. It was literally built over a large lake, surrounded by tall trees on every side. The building was made of a reddish coloured wood, and it had floor to ceiling windows all around the lakeside, so the people eating could look out over the lake easily. The whole place looked sophisticated. Not like a five-star restaurant, but definitely like a place that Nate wasn’t allowed to go to.
He got out of the car slowly, and Janusz came around to his side, standing in front of him.
‘What’s going on, Nate?’
Nate picked at the collar of his black shirt. ‘I don’t think I’m…good enough to go somewhere like this.’

His intentions were to be made clear today, he prepared every excuse in the book to come to the Enclave, and of course, no trip goes without making some profit from the venture to replenish the expenses of travel and then some. After a few small bribes, he managed to find out the exact days of her travel, which would mean he would not incur her father's wrath.
Or that of his retainers.
What he did not expect were the overly curious children at her side, flagging him down as a suitor of sorts once he managed to find her in the garden, flowers in hand. If he was not stunned at the sight of her, then surely the soft sound of the children's laughter caused his flesh to ignite suddenly on his face.

bright falls is a far cry from arlington and an even further one from new york city. casey's never particularly enjoyed the rural parts of the country. too many trees, too much fresh air, too many ways for a suspect to slip off and disappear. and then there's the local flavor; in this case, a murder cult that the townsfolk seem to think is urban legend more than anything real. maybe they're genuine, or maybe they're willfully dense. whatever the case, he's glad that saga's by his side on this one. of all the people he's worked with in his career, she still finds ways to surprise him, keep him on his toes, see details that slip past everyone else, himself included.
it's why he doesn't mind breaking the silence between them as they trek down one of the many winding nature trails around cauldron lake, corner of his mouth daring to twitch upward.
' y'know anderson — I could make a joke about jonestown. ' his expression still looks sour, but he's trying. saga will pick up on that. ' the punchline is too long. '
@forebodes sent in 😝 for a silly starter for saga anderson, featuring alex casey.

Au where Damian comes to Gotham with the goal of infiltrating and eventually overthrowing Batman instead of inheriting the mantle. Not much changes from canon except for the fact that he views everything that batman owns as his. That's his future cave and his future batmobile. This also includes his robins. After all everyone knows Batman wouldn't really be Batman without them.
Cue a very bewildered Tim being lectured on his eating habits by a righteous Damian who won't let one of his people take shortcuts with their health.

The Joker was apprehended, sitting on the ground as Batman guarded him, but the kid--"Bruce Wayne's newest ward, how tragic! Hehehe!"--was nowhere to be found. Nightwing and Red Hood desperate searched the warehouse until a shuffling noise grabbed their attention.
A kid, black haired just like the kid in the Joker's broadcast, crawling out of a pile of boxes. "Is it over?" the boy asked quietly.
Nightwing guided him to the only exit, unfortunately walking past the boy's own kidnapper. "Yeah, kid. It's over. Come on-"
Like a shot, the boy rushed the Joker and kicked him right in the balls.
The Joker wheezed like a dying squeaky toy. Red Hood froze. Nightwing immediately snatched the boy up by the armpits, but all that did was give the boy the height to attack again, punting Joker in the jaw. The clown went down and cracked his head on the floor. He did not get back up.
There was a moment of silence before Red Hood roared with laughter, his helmet distorting the sound.

I really like the idea that Danny has like a 6th sense for Crazy Billionaires TM. Like he’s so used to Vlad and all his shenanigans that he can clock crazy from a mile away.
Cue Bruce Wayne talking with Danny and giving him his classic disarming Brucie Wayne smile and Danny just immediately narrows his eyes like “I know what you are”
Better yet it’s Batman who comes up to him and Danny is like *sniff sniff* “yeah you got money, I automatically don’t trust you on principle”
