#dont get me wrong#i do not like 99% of teacher student romances#the grooming involved and sometimes outright rape is already bad#and coercian too but im counting that as above#but. i think that. the of course bad view of these types of romances#overshadows when there actually Is one that isnt outright abusive#like an older romance#but i think its a seperate thing for if its actually a teacher student or one used to Be their teacher#like. the one i can think of one half was a minor.#but. the guy is much younger than any other in his position#and hes also technically not. his teacher#he tries to be since hes thrust into the position#but like. its not a secret (hes just really oblivious) that everyone suspects hes not himself#like. they know he now has 'memory issues' (and since this is a magic setting they test for possession)#and the big part of it is. they dont get together until 1 hes older and 2. he literally dies for so long that theyre the same age#and from both sides (including the party that could be called) say it wasnt grooming on any way#like. this relationship has actual issues with it#but also the guy is in a Way more advanced position#and the world that theyre in is known for getting back at abusers even in the long run#(including the original characters of the story before he came along)#(the protagonist was known for coercion rape and other acts#and though it wasnt called this from his pov the author says its so#and he dies by getting murdered slowly by said victims)#also. the character says that (im regards to an actual fanfic written ab them) that if he had tried anything he had done in the story#when he was his student (the fic is. bad. and he gess with him as a child) that he would jave killed him outright#and of course the other agrees#like the couple has other issues that thwy even admit to themselves and aee obviously trying to work on#but. the world they are in was originally against the original vers of them#and if their relationship had been like that. then the bg characters would have said so#(and the bg characters dont really like the 'student' for reasons)

in the bj/nimona au, where did Lydia learn latin, did her mom teach her some, or did she learn some in a book she read? Or a combination of those two and school, because I just remembered you mentioned it came from school, and forgot some school did have a class for that.
i think im going to say either she has it as an actual class and chalk it up to her going to private school (i feel like thats a private school thing? idk the only time ive heard of it being an actual class is in a documentary about eaton) or it was extracurricular, which is how i learnt it. if im remembering right my secondary school only offered it to ''''gifted'''' students, and had an outside teacher who came in for like an hour or so after school on mondays to teach it. i liked that guy, he was very soft spoken, little brown mouse with glasses who lives in a library vibes on that man. i actually got the option to take a gcse exam on it and i remember doing it twice but i have no idea if that means i have two seperate qualifications or one was a mock and i just dont remember that or what. i got like an A in it somehow even though i never really learnt the grammar rules properly just translated on vibes and some vocab memorisation alone and since you never really have to translate the other way because its a dead language it was kinda easy to bullshit to a point. but that means im now having to learn it from the ground up again. tbh using it in the crossover is partially just a way to keep myself interested enough to relearn it because its something i keep meaning to do.
ANYWAY this post is supposed to be about bj/nimona au not my secondary school latin experience. the idea that her mum taught her some is pretty interesting actually that is something to consider but im pretty set on the bulk of it coming from school. and her school uses the cambridge latin course 4th edition because how could i deny her such a banger. as i said though its not the exact same latin the kingdom uses (although any 'kingdom latin' i write will probably just be regular latin) and shes not really learnt to speak it or understand it being spoken because it was thought to be dead so its more a case she has a pretty good starting point for nimona to teach her from than her knowing the language from the start. but as well as nimona having the best english out of her ambrosius and ballister, shes also old enough that she was around when classical latin (as i think its called?) was being spoken in the kingdom so nimona is in a very good position to teach her. unfortuately this actually makes latin class at school harder in a way, because shes having to constantly make sure shes using the right dialect. her teacher (very much inspired by mine) is very excited about the existance of kingdom latin and is trying to learn some themself, so mix-ups just lead to conversations about the neuances of the two dialects more often than not.
i have already run into a problem that i could chalk up to the dialect difference, which is interesting. i figured that since nimona uses 'boss' almost like a nickname she probably wouldnt translate it, so i went looking for what it would be in latin. from what i can tell the best translation is 'dominus' (though if im understanding my cases right shed say 'domine'), which would make lydia do a double take if she heard it because its first translation given in the cambridge latin course is 'master'. not sure if i want to use dominus and point out the difference there or just use 'dux' which to my understanding is a slightly weaker translation, but either way neither is perfect. i do want to have vocabulary differences like that but i might just use 'dux' and leave the vocab stuff to something less important and with lighter implications. plus, dux keeps the same sylables as boss which i like. i think i just talked myself into using dux.

Undertale Post-Pacifist Headcanons
Like many people who’ve played through Undertale’s Pacifist route, I have my own fair share of thoughts on what happens to all the characters after the credits roll. And because I’m feeling in a sentimental mood, I wanted to write them all down in one place. So I thought I’d go through each of the main characters and talk through where I see them ending up. Some of these have been partially shaped by other takes, or even fics, that resonated with me. Others are purely my own interpretation. This isn’t a fic or anything super comprehensive. Just me splurging out my thoughts onto a page to get ‘em out of my head after all this time. Also a few side notes before we start: -This is NOT referring to Souless Pacifist. That’s an interesting thing to think about but, frankly, I’d like to actually be happy today. -I’m mostly leaving Deltarune out of this because’s it’s a seperate canon, it’s not finished and frankly, I have NO IDEA where that story is going. -This all purely my conjecture based on my interpretation of the story and characters and what I’d like to think happens next. Nothing more. Frisk Frisk accepted Toriel’s offer to stay with her and they settled down in a house in the town, Ebott, not far from the mountain of the same name. Originally the pair just had a small place to themselves, but in a couple of years, they moved into a much larger house. Since Frisk was spending so much time with all their friends, Toriel decided they might as well all have a room there, and nearly all of them sleep over there pretty frequently. By this point, they’re almost as much one big family as they are friends. They also accepted the position of Ambassador of monsters, but didn’t really step into that role for a few years. The position requird a lot of knowledge that makes for a rather unfair responsibility to put on someone so young. Plus, most human world leaders would likely turn their nose up at negotiating with a child. Though Asgore’s role as king was now greatly reduced, and Toriel had long since renounced her position as queen, they stepped back into a more pronounced diplomatic role while Frisk was still learning. As a young adult, Frisk took on more and more responsibilities, finally flourishing in the role of ambassador. Shortly after the monsters leave the surface, they were recognised as having gone missing previously, which raised questions about where they came from before the Underground. They have only ever shared the full story with Toriel, and later Asgore, and they still don’t like to talk about it much. But between Toriel acquiring full custody, and Frisk finally opening up to at least one person about it all, they’ve made a ton of progress moving past whatever their old life was like. And they seem content to focus on their new life for now.  Frisk never found themselves in a position where they needed to muster up the Determination to SAVE or LOAD. They decided that this ending was one worth keeping, and left it as it was. One time, many years later, they tried to muster up the concentration to make a SAVE point just in case...and found they couldn’t. Perhaps whatever external influence had given them that power had left them. Maybe it went off to find something new to occupy its time...Anyway, with the burden of that power gone, Frisk is now free to devote themselves to their new life fully, and maybe that’s ok. While Frisk’s efforts do not single handedly rebuild bridges between humans and monsters (as such a task is far too big for one person) they do make a world of difference in establishing peace between the two during their career. Toriel Toriel finally fulfilled her dream of becoming a teacher when she opened a school for monster children. A couple of years later, she expanded to welcome humans as well, the first school to teach both human and monster children, leading others to follow. As headmistress she is very well-liked by her students. While there are a handful of jokes about how scary she can be when she’s angry, she is generally considered a caring figure to her students and a practical overseer of the school. She is still very good friends with Sans, and since both the brothers are already spending a lot of time with Frisk, she gets plenty of opportunities to trade jokes with him whenever the two show up to visit. She has also begun to practice cooking with Papyrus and Undyne. Papyrus is actually getting a bit better, and Undyne...well, Toriel appreciates her enthusiasm, even if she usually has to make time to clean up pretty thoroughly after a lesson.  Stepping into a teaching role also led Toriel back into her aptitude for magic, something she had only used for essentials for a long time. She began studying and researching the topic extensively, not just to better instruct her students, but for out of a long dormant intellectual curiousity. She has been an invaluable source of consultation for Alphys on multiple research papers as a result. Nor is Alphys the only one. While Toriel was once afriad to face her subjects after hiding away from them for so long, she finds herself a welcome presence of her community, even amongst humans. She ultimately ends up meeting many of the monsters Frisk met on their own journey and befriending them in her own right, be it lunches out with Dogamy and Dogaressa, or tea and sewing sessions with Muffet. Having such a social life is a little strange for someone who was alone in those ruins for so long, yet it feels oddly right. Toriel still remembers her lost children and she still misses them greatly. But settling down into a new life on the surface, fulfilling dreams she never thought she would and being part of a family again after all these years has helped her find contentment. Papyrus Papyrus is still comfortably living with Sans on the surface. The early adjustment period was quite hard for him. As happy as he was to finally be out and able to meet new people, his dreams of joining the Royal Guard had still been throughly dashed. Nonetheless, Undyne was still happy both to train him, in both magic and cooking. And this gave Papyrus time to think. He loved training with Undyne, and the feeling of improving himself and getting stronger. But he never wanted to use that power to hurt anyone. It was Undyne who suggested he try training other people in turn. Taking his friend’s advice, Papyrus opened a fitness gym, where humans and monsters could hone their bodies and/or magic in a safe, fun environment. And he quickly proved himself a surprisingly empathetic and supportive instructor, as well as being a unexpectedly strong and well-versed one. Maybe Undyne wasn’t kidding when she told Frisk how tough he was while training him. He’s still certainly an eccentric trainer of course. In particular, he has made a habit of offering his homemade spaghetti to anyone who seems to be getting tired while workig out. It certainly works. The offer alone is generally enough to make them hastily insist they’re fine to keep going another few sets! Papyrus and Sans both maintain an exceptionally close friendship with Frisk, and have sleepovers with them at least once a week, often more. He tends to be quite fussy over Frisk whenever they’re over, keen to insist they are well cared for, sometimes a lttle too zealously, often chiding Sans to help more whenever Frisk is their guest. However, Toriel is all to happy to leave her child in the brothers’ care, and at this point they’re basically a mix of uncles and big brothers to them. Papyrus is quick to notice that one of his friends never left the Underground, and still makes time to visit him whenever he can. He’s not sure why this one monster is so loathe to leave the mountain, but he’s still keen to make them feel a little less alone regardless. Papyrus once wanted nothing more than for people to like him. Now, with a fulfilling job and plenty of friends, more people like him than ever. But more than that, he can now say he likes himself plenty as well. Sans Of all Frisk’s friends, Sans might just have had the hardest and longest adjustment period to living on the surface. At least to those who knew him. Sure, he was mostly still his lazy, good-natured self, everybody’s carefree pal. But those who knew him best, Papyrus especially, could see that the smile didn’t always reach his eyes. And every now and then, he would spend the day laying in bed. He’d joke that he was over-rested from too much napping, so now he had to nap EVEN MORE. But neither Papyrus, nor Toriel, nor Frisk were convinced. The truth was that Sans hadn’t forgotten how trapped he’d once felt. Putting the pieces together and guessing (rightly) that the world around him was looping, was a bitter pill to swallow. And the painful thought that nothing he did would matter was not an easy one to forget. He was still happy to be a good friend to Toriel and a good brother to Papyrus, but he couldn’t fully convince himself that he wasn’t just going to wake up one day back in his room in Snowdin. And as happy as he was to have Frisk over, there was always the awkwardness of something that was being left unsaid. Eventually Sans finally gave in and asked Frisk one day if they were going to reset. But Frisk, not sounding terribly surprised that Sans knew this, said they weren’t. That they were sticking with this. As much as Sans wanted to believe them, it seemed too good to be true. Then the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, months into years, and still no reset. And somewhere along the way, Sans started to believe a little. Those listless days in bed started to grow less frequent, his smile seemed a little wider and more genuine. And he seemed warmer to Frisk than ever. He even became quite protective of them. Whenever any narrow minded human had any intentions of harming the Ambassador, they would quickly find themselves caught in a cage of bones. What was once a promise to look after the kid for Tori’s sake, was now a personal vow to look after a true friend who’d helped him out of a very dark place, and keep them safe. Aside from that, Sans is much the same as ever. He can still be found at Grillby’s new venue most days, he’s still a frequent visitor at Frisk and Toriel’s house and he’s even become surprisingly good friends with Alphys. Turns out the lovable lazy skeleton is a little more of a dork than he lets on, and he doesn’t mind lazing around binge watching Alphys’ latest shows or joining her to play a video game. Plus it’s one more way he can shirk off the last thing Papyrus told him to do. Occasonally, Alphys can weedle some surprisingly profound scientific knowledge out of him during their time together. But he usually complains that recalling that is too much work, nor has he ever talked about where he learned it. It took a lot of time, and a lot of work for Sans to really feel at home on the surface. But now Sans is probably the most content, and the most alive he’s felt in years. Undyne With the Royal Guard disbanded, Undyne found herself on the surface but out of a job. Sure, being out of the Underground was fun and all, but for someone so dedicated to her training, it was a little hard to find something to fill in the time. Then one day, as she and Alphys were watching yet another anime she had an idea. The show in question featured a martial arts tournament, where people could put their skills to the test in competition. A place to fight where nobody could get hurt (mostly). ‘Man’, she thought to herself. ‘If only humans had something like THAT!’ Except, hold on...they do. Undyne signed up for classes in karate and the rest was history. She ultimately took classes in tons of different martial arts, and, when she was ready, she began entering local wrestling tournaments. Over the years, she carved out a fearsome career in professional wrestling. Under the alias of the ‘Legendary Hero’ (a name originally born out of a sponsorship deal with MTT that ended up sticking) she had plenty of wins under her belt. She has now has no shortage of fans, humans and monster alike, and helped encourage other monsters to enter professional sports fields, changing the industry drastically. Outside of her matches, Undyne still makes plenty of time for her friends. Papyrus’ gym tends to be her training venue of choice (when she first showed up Papyrus wasn’t sure whether to cry of joy or reinforce every piece of equipment ASAP), and will still spar with Papyrus and Frisk whenever she has time.  Sometimes she’ll volunteer to do a training course at Toriel’s school. When she does the students are half in awe, and half dreading how throughly she’ll put them through their paces. This also led her to interact more with Toriel on her personal level, and while making small talk with the fabled ‘lost queen of the Underground’ (as well as her mentor’s ex) was decidedly awkward, the two eventually became friends, and even have cooking lessons together. Plus, she and Alphys still make time to visit Asgore whenever they can. Speaking of Alphys, their relationship has also progressed since the Barrier broke. They started dating in earnest once the dust had cleared and monsters were established on the surface and eventually moved in together. They remain firmly supportive of each others’ work, with Alphys never missing one of her girlfriend’s matches. Undyne has also helped Alphys to better come out of her shell. They started going to conventions together, meeting new people along the way.  A couple of years down the line the two made the step to get married. When they did, Undyne asked Asgore to walk her down the aisle. Eventually, the necesarry arrangements were made for them to have a kid together, and, with their new daughter, the three now live together happily. They’re also still delighted to have Frisk over whenever, and effectively became their cool aunts. Undyne may not have become the legendary warrior who struck down the last human for the sake of all monsters. But what she now is still pretty legendary as far as she’s concerned. Alphys Much like Undyne, Alphys too had to find a new path in life after losing her job as Royal Scientist. Not that she really minded. That was a part of her life she was more than happy to leave behind. Her first major concern was helping each of the Amalgamates get settled back in with their families, since she naturally felt responsible for them. She had steeled herself to expect the worst from their relatives, and some definitely took the truth worse than others. But mostly she was surprised by how many were just happy to get their loved ones back. Some even thanked her for it. This left Alphys deep in thought for a long while, unsure what to think after finding some closure to the events that her haunted her for years. She eventually sought out professional therapy. After a while, it led her to accept that, even if her past experiments had caused unexpected harm, they’d done some good as well. And there was no reason she couldn’t learn from her mistakes, and use her talents to help people. Soon she set to work in her little lab in her and Undyne’s home. Across the later years, Alphys made a variety of inventions that combined human advancements in science, with the unique magic of monsters, to help improve the quality of life for both. Using helpful devices like the Dimensional Box as a starting point, her creations helped improve the lives of humans and monsters across the world. But she had two important caveats. She would accept no governmental or (especially) military funding. The profits from these devices were more than enough for her and Undyne to live comfortably, and she didn’t want to be back in a position of being obligated to do research she knew was wrong. And no experiment that involved directly experimenting on human or monster bodies in any way. All of this has helped Alphys feel more fulfilled than ever. Where before she felt cursed to ruin everything she touched, and that her craft had only resulted in what she considered evil, now she was helping all kinds of people. And it means a great deal to her to this day. Outside of that, she has a pretty comfortable life. She still loves to unwind with a good anime, and has even begun dipping her toes into the communal side of fandom. Whether that be online communities, or even going to conventions (Undyne is always happy to join in on a cosplay) and all sorts of things Alphys never dreamt she would have the nerve to do. But throughout it all, Undyne has remained her rock, always able to cheer her up on her bad days, and encourage her on her good ones. Between this, striking up a friendship with Sans, and getting to spend time with Asgore in a non professional context, Alphys has more friends now than she ever thought possible. But as much as she loves her daughter, as much as she values her friends, or as much as she joins everyone in spending time at Frisk and Toriel’s house, it’s still sometimes nice to take time to herself to unwind and rewatch Mew Mew Kissy Cuitie...even if Season Two still sucks. Asgore Asgore’s road to making a new life on the surface was...complicated to say the least. For one thing, he was incredibly busy right from the off. Most of the diplomacy needed to make peace with humanity once monsters were reintroduced to the world naturallly fell to him. And many monsters who had settled down in Ebott still came to him for help with numerous small matters.Still, Asgore appreciated the distraction. Outside of that, Asgore mostly kept to himself, in a small house with a garden for him to tend to. Asgore was all too happy to help monsters re-integrate into surface life, but truthfully, he still didn’t really feel he himself deserved to do the same. He tended to avoid contact with people unless they came looking for him, still believing he didn’t deserve to enjoy a peaceful life with the blood he had on his hands. And yet, to his surprise, people still wanted to come to him. His subjects still valued his advice, and applauded his efforts to negotiate with human world leaders. Alphys and Undyne still visited him whenever they could. And most of all, Frisk still seemed to want to talk to him. Asgore had convinced himself that Frisk would never want to see him again. After all, he’d try to kill them. Besides, seeing Frisk meant seeing Toriel, and he could hardly bear to look her in the face. Yet still, Frisk would ask Toriel to bring them round to visit after school, to which she eventually, if somewhat reluctantly, relented. He would spend the day making them tea, playing with them, working the gardens with them, or just being a confidant to the child. After everything he’d done, this human child still wanted him to be a part of their life. And not just them, but countless monsters. It was more than Asgore felt he deserved.  It was a few months after the first of these days looking after them that Frisk called Asgore ‘Dad’ for the first time. He nearly burst into tears on the spot. Shortly after the immediate aftermath of the Barrier’s destruction had died down, Asgore made quiet, private arrangements to find the relatives of the six fallen humans. He thought it best to deal with the matter on his own terms and take full responsibility, lest it make life harder for monsters trying to live alongside humans. Their reactions...varied. For some, it had happened so long ago that none of their immediate families were alive, and their descendants were just relieved to have closure. Others were angrier and more hostile. But all of them eventually recieved some form of resolution and support. It wasn’t an easy task, but one Asgore thought was important to do. ...Asgore even tried to find out about who Chara’s family might have been. But he turned up no results. He’d been afraid that might happen. Asgore is still mostly quite withdrawn in his social life, but outside of his role as king, he still has his fair share of friends. While his old friend Rudy fell down a long time ago, he still checks in on his daughter whenever he can. He still sees Gerson on occasion as well, who is always keen to swap old stories. He now happily embraces his role as Frisk’s father figure and has them over most weekends and the odd weekday. And of course, plenty of his subjects still respect him enough to ask for his help with their problems, and he’ll always sit them down with a hot cup of tea to hear their troubles. Of course, spending time with Frisk meant spending time with Toriel, which was...awkward. Toriel was still understandably angry over everything, but they wordlessly agreed that, both for Frisk’s safe and their diplomatic roles, it was important they try to get along. But it was plain to all that there was a lot going unsaid. It was Alphys who eventually convinced them to sit down and talk through everything that happened. Lay all their cards on the table, everything they’d felt, and gone through since that day. Not a pleasant prospect for either but, remembering how forgiving and merciful Frisk had been to the both of them, both chose to follow their example. These talks were long, and difficult, but ultimately cathartic for both parties. It didn’t magically fix everything, far from it, but with their newfound understanding, the two gradually found themselves able to spend time together comfortably, which was especially important as Asgore became a bigger part of Frisk’s life. As a final olive branch, Toriel offered Asgore a job as gardener at her school. Deeply touched by this expression of trust, Asgore accepted. Between spending time together at the school and co-parenting Frisk, Asgore and Toriel began to build the first steps of a new friendship. It was undoutbtedly a tentative one given what they’d been through, but genuine all the same. And, several years later, by which time Frisk was already almost an adult, they began to remember why they’d once fallen in love in the first place. Of course, neither had forgotten why they had seperated either and so they knew better than to ‘get back together’ officially. But over the course of several ‘not-dates’, they slowly started to build...something. It wasn’t what they’d had before, but it was something new. They’re still slowly working at it, ignoring any comments about how ‘everyone else can see it’. For now, they’re both content to see where this goes. They’re still Frisk’s parents whatever happens.  Asgore is still the gardener at Toriel’s school, where he is well liked by the students. Being around children is a pleasant reminder of happy times for Asgore, and his hedgework and carefully nurtured flowerbeds are a source of pride for the school. Deep down, Asgore still has bad days where he feels he doesn’t deserve any part of this new life. But each day, it gets just a little bit easier to believe it. Mettaton Mettaton’s stardom in the Underground carried through into his surface life. His performances are still widely watched by monster from all over. Winning over the brand new, enormous demographic of humans is a tough task, but it’s a challenge Mettaton was willing to take on. And he did eventually make his way into the mainstream, developing a lengthy career in both film and music, with human and monster fans alike. Because of this, unlike many of the others, Mettaton chose not to settle down in Ebott, but he still made sure to keep on eye on his friends who did.  Eventually, Mettaton saw the efforts his friends were making, as ambassadors, inventors, diplomats and the like, to make life better for monsters, and he began to wonder if he could do more with his fame. After this period of SOUL searching, Mettaton began using his platform to advocate for unity between humans and monsters, and taking roles in movies with human and monster casts and crews. The day he fought Frisk in the Underground taught Mettaton the positive impact he had the potential to make on his fans through his art. And he’s more committed to that than ever. Naturally, such a busy career often keeps him on the move, but he will occasionally make time to make a low profile visit to Ebott (or a high profile one if he feels like it). When he does, Napstablook and Alphys are always his first ports of call, and there’s generally a day out shopping with Frisk on the agenda at some point (anything to get them out of that tacky striped shirt). As part of her research, Alphys has sought his advice on how to build more mechanical bodies for those who want or need them, and, touched by her efforts, he’s happy to share his experience when she’s coming up with new designs.  It’s odd really. Despite being more famous than ever, Mettaton has found that’s not actually why he’s so happy with himself right now. Flowey Even as all the other monsters chose to go up and live their lives on the surface, Flowey alone, stayed behind. Much like he once told Frisk, he simply couldn’t bring himself to leave the Underground. Maybe he didn’t feel he deserved it after all he’d done. Maybe this self imposed exile was his idea of punishment. Maybe he just didn’t want to re-open his parents’ centruies-old wounds of grief. Maybe it was all of those reasons. Whatever his logic, he stayed. Occasionally, he would get visits from either Frisk or Papyrus, neither of whom had forgotten him and both resolved to keep him company. Frisk always made sure to let him know that Asgore and Toriel were both doing fine. Every time either of them visited, they asked Flowey to come with them. Every time, Flowey said no. He never regressed to the state he’d been in before he met Frisk. Just because he turned back into a flower and lost his SOUL again didn’t mean he’d forgotten what these experiences had taught him. But becoming the person he once was, even for a moment, just made it even harder to believe he’d ever really be accepted out there after everything he’d done and everyone he’d hurt. Left to his own devices, Flowey was true to his word and spent most of his time taking care of the flowers. Flowey’s magic had always allowed him to manipulate plant life, but now he was using it to nurture the various plants of the Underground. Slowly, he learned to use his magic not to kill, but to give life. Under his care, the various areas of the Underground became some of the most famous sites of natual beauty on Earth. Now that the Underground is easy and safe to reach, people come from miles around to see the plants that now grow there. There are rumours of some guardian who has grown the Underground into what it is today, but no one has ever seen him. Over the next few years as he tended to the kingdom alone, Flowey came to realise something. For so long, he’d thought that all he could do was destroy. That was the only thing left to do after countless time loops had numbed him to everything else. Yet here he was, using his powers to heal, to grow, to make the Underground he’d once terrorised so much more beautiful. Is it possible, then that he could do the same on the surface? It is then, and only then, that Flowey agrees to go with Frisk outside the mountain. Even after this experience, Flowey’s life is not smooth sailing. He never recovers his SOUL to restore his original form. As a result, his capacity to feel emotions and empathy is not entirely as it once was. But there are plenty of factors other than his SOUL-essness that made Flowey into who he became, and there are parts of himself he can still work on, SOUL or no SOUL. Flowey is still very dry and reserved in his deameanor, but he’s not willfully cruel like he once was. He still struggles to say the right thing at times, but he’s learning. He’s been able to rekindle his friendship with Papyrus. The two were implied to be much closer friends in earlier time loops, and Flowey hopes that he’ll be able to make something new in pace of what he once reset away. Asgore and Toriel are happy to meet another of Frisk’s friends, but he’s reluctant to tell them the full story of who he once was. Maybe someday he’ll tell them. But for now, he’s just glad to see that they’re happy. And while he pretends it doesn’t matter to him as he’s not that person anymore, he’ll still constantly hound Frisk for details once Asgore and Toriel start spending more time together. That said, there is one person who Flowey still struggles to get on with. Sans may not remember anything that happened in the previous resets, but he at least guesses who the other person was besides Frisk, who had that power. While he puts on a friendly air for Frisk and Papyrus’ sake, he never trusts Flowey entirely, and their exchanges tend to be pretty terse and snarky when their mutual friends aren’t around. Flowey may never have the life he once had back. But he seems to be on the way to making something new in its place. Chara This will be the shortest, because not much needs to be said. Even if Frisk never even knew they were there, observing Frisk on their journey through the Underground gave Chara a lot of time to think. For a long time, their life had given them no reason but to believe the worst of humanity. Their ‘plan’ was just as much a revenge quest against the people who once hurt them as it was a bid to save the monsters they loved. And their last memory was being held back, betrayed, in a sense, by their brother as the humans took everything from them yet again. Suffice to say, when a strong source of Determination awoke them from death, they had little reason to see any worth in humans, or monsters, or the world in general. Perhaps, in another time, they might have met someone else who validated those dark thoughts. Someone who made the wrong choices, who led Chara themselves to the worst possible conclusion... And yet, that’s not what happened. What they saw instead was a child who only offered mercy to a kingdom that wanted them dead. They saw a child with the power over time itself who used that power to help people. They saw their family find healing and redemption through the actions of this stranger. They saw their sibling find himself again, and make his peace with their own departure. In watching so many monsters find their catharsis through Frisk’s actions, Chara found a degree of catharsis themselves. Maybe they were wrong. Maybe humans weren’t as bad as they thought. Maybe power wasn’t everything. Maybe the future of humans and monsters their father once spoke of still existed. Finally able to let go of their anger, Chara is free for the first time. And with the source of Determination leaving after the credits roll, there’s nothing to keep them bound to this world anymore. After all, what do ghosts do in all those old stories when their unfinished business is resolved? With everything finally settled and no Determination to anchor them anymore, Chara is able to pass on peacefully, at long last, safe in the knowledge that their friends will be fine without them....
And that concludes my Undertale Post Pacifist headcanons for all the major characters. I hope it was an enjoyable read. I think it’s safe to say this game made a huge impact on a ton of people who played it, and their reactions are all very personal. As such, I know full well that these are just my projections and interpretations of what happens after the ending. But I think the fact that this game left enough of an impression that I wrote this much says something about its quality. I’m so sorry these are all so sappy. But I’m not as funny as Toby Fox, I’m afriad. Also, good lord, I didn’t mean this to be so long. If you somehow read the whole of this mess then thanks. It’s nice to think at least someone enjoys the crazed ramblings I call my blog.

Fire Exit (Yandere Shigaraki x GN!Reader)
Synopsis: you and your friends were having a normal day at school, only to have an unexpected and strange group of people, finding their leader's special somebody.
CW: reader is in college, yandere themes, kidnapping, drugging, ooc characters (?), tiny hint of fluff.
(Let me know if I missed anything!)
A/N: aaaaa the first story I'm going to publish here!! this one was inspired by the dream I had last night and the first fanfic I was motivated to type in. I'm still new in writing fanfiction so take it easy.
Part 2 || Part 3
Tumblr media
‿︵‿︵ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ・❉・ ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ‿︵‿︵
"Guys guys, have you seen the new manga cover? It could have been dark but at least Dabi looks really good on it." "I know right? Toga's grin also looks really cute though!" You listened close to your friends as they gush about two of the members of the LoV. Of course, you yourself had a full on crush on the most dangerous villain in the series; shigaraki.
As the halls became crowded and noisy, a screech rang from the speakers above as the students and teachers alike are looking each other in confusion. "Everyone in the building, there's a group that entered the schools premises. I need you to form a line and go to the nearest exit."
While everyone listened to the speakers' announcment, you looked outside and saw people... running... as screams filled through the air. Suddenly, a loud crash echoed from the microphone. "I REPEAT THIS IS NOT A DRILL! I REPEAT THIS IS NOT A DRILL! EVERYONE IN THE BUILDING MUST EVACUATE AND ESCA-" it was cut off and the whole area became silent as if the school became deserted and abandoned.
Now everyone around you became scared and paranoid as the loud footsteps from ramp came closer.. and closer.... "(Y/N), guys... I'm scared.." one of your friends spoke out, words became shakey as another wave of screams echoed. Whispers and doubtful looks scattered through the faces of the people in the building.
Suddenly, a wave of blue flames bursted through the hallway, sending everyone in a panic state. Everyone is pushing one another of reach the gates of freedom. Some of them even hide at empty classrooms and locked bathrooms. "Guys, we need to get out of here!" You spoke as you and your friends started running through the flight of stairs. "Does that person even brought a freaking flamethrower at the premises?!" (F/1) exclaimed as they hold your arm in order not to be seperated.
A sillohuette suddenly appeared in the hallway, blocking the way that leads to the fire exit of the school. The clanking sound of knives, giddy footsteps, and a lovesick smile on her face reminded you of someone... someone who's present from that show...
Your thoughts were interrupted as one of your friends pulled you to an empty science lab. You sighed in relief as the lab has blinds on the windows, making it difficult for the perpetraitor to find you and your little group. "Do you think its an active shooting here?" "If I die, im letting you guys know that i really love you guys so much." "You guys are the best group of friends i met." The group began to cry softly in fear as each of you console one another.
You began to think what are the things you could have done before this ordeal. You could go road tripping with your friends, graduate college and had the job you always wanted and going to japan with your little group. Yet, your thoughts were interrupted once again as a muffled voice was heard from across the hallway.
(F/2) manage to crack the door open a little as they saw people dressed strangely but looks very familiar. Are those people cosplayers? Pranksters? Many thoughts and guesses were plagued on their mind.
"Where did they go?" The man with the jet black hair spoke as the group rounded up. "I just saw them actually, we need to search these rooms cause i know that they're here!" The blondy spoke and she began to jump up and down from excitement. "What are we waiting for, let's find them and bring them back to Shigaraki." Mr Compress replied as the group separated once again.
Now this made you and your friends' eyes widen in fear, your chest tighten as you think the worst possibilities would occur. (F/3) managed to lock and barricade the doors while (F/2) looked at you, (F/1) and (F/4), dead in the eyes.
"If anything fails, we need to defend ourselves. Grab something that would protect youselves." (Y/N) and the others began to search on the shelves for something that would protect yourself and the others from them. Some of them picked a pair of scissors and broom while you picked out a sturdy metal pole you just found in the shower area of the lab.
You took a peek at the blinds from the windows as the sound of doors being opened echoed through the halls. 'the fire exit is just across the hall, we will escape from this building' you thought as (F/3) opened the door a little bit, signaling the three of you if the coast was clear.
While (y/n) waited for the signal that the coast was clear, their thoughts clouded in their mind; 'what are they're even looking for? An object that was important to them from this school? A person? Anyth-'
"The coast was clear, let's go." (F/3) whispered as you and your friends got out of the room quietly. It's dead silent in the building. There were no people in the building, except for the screams and the sound of sirens outside. It's so quiet.... So so quiet.... 'It's a good sign, the exit is almos-'
"THERE THEY ARE!" Spinner screamed as you and your friends' spirit just escaped your body as the reptile screeched. The others then proceeded to run towards your little group. (F/2) managed to hit Toga with the broom as she attempted to stab them in the arm, leaving an open wound. "RUN RUN!!!" Screams erupted as your legs carried you towards the exit, your metal pole became useless as it had a dent while hitting Mr Compress from the stomach, leaving him stunned. You can taste the freedom from this point. Your legs began to cramp but you didn't mind. As long as you escape this inferno.
The three of them managed to open the door, waiting for you to come with them. Finally, it will be over, this nightmare will be over. Suddenly, a ring of blue fire began to separate you and your friends from the exit. "You guys go ahead, I'll get the stairs!" You shouted as you coughed and wheezed with the smoke you just inhaled.
(Y/n) began to ran for the stairs until a 4-fingered hand began to grip at the back of their shirt. You begin to thrust around just to get off from their grip until it spoke. "Where do you think you're going?" A voiced rasped from the purple portal. Your eyes widen in fear as you recognize the voice as the figure stepped out from the mist. You manage to turn around and smack the person infront of you with your bear hands, sending the object flying towards the floor. He began to glare at you and...those eyes...the hair...the scars on his eye and lip....
You pieced the puzzles together when you stared into his eyes; the sound of the voices, the clad in green, the lovesick grin, the blue flames and the embalmed hands around him. You just knew those people, the main enemy from the series you and your friends loved; it's the League of Villains.
"Shigaraki..." You whispered in fear as Tomura began to smile widely, satisfied at the sound of your voice, calling his last name. This causes butterflies to erupt from his stomach, a blush appeared on his grinning face. "I finally found you, my dear. We can finally go home." He stared at your eyes and a wave of discomfort washed all over you.
"Do you have them, boss?" Dabi spoke as you began to thrust once again and pulling your shirt from him as an act of escape. "Don't squirm or I have to put all of my fingers in your delicate neck." The villain threatened you with his quirk as you stood still, your heart still beats faster as if you're in a marathon.
"Yes yes, call kurogiri to open up the portal so we can get out from this place." Tomura replied as he brought a handkerchief from his pocket, socked with chloroform.
Your friends managed to scream as they watched the ordeal from the small window from the fire exit, screaming for you to run away from the people that are trying to take you. As the handkerchief made its way to block your mouth and nose, you began to panic as you hold your breath, knowing the substance that was placed with in the item.
"Just breathe it in my dear, then we'll finally be together. I knew that watching you from the screens are worth the wait and you knew all about the world we're about to live in. You're going to be a nuisance and stubborn at first but I still have the time in the world to tame you." He talked while looking at you lovingly in his arms while the purple mist began to re open as the others began to get inside.
The last moment you remembered before you passed out was your friends trying to open the fire exit as an attempt to rescue you from the grasp of the villain. Shigaraki smiled eeriely at them as he carried your weak body on his arms. As he walked towards the mist, he began to coo and placed a kiss on your forehead as you began to pass out.
"Sleep well, my love. I'll see you when you finally woke up. Remember that I love you so much."

I know that you mostly a KakaGai shipper, but what do you think about this post? Their take on KakaYama is.... interesting
I don’t really care for the ship war stuff. Each age appropriate Kakashi ship has its draws and downfalls and i won’t even touch on Kakashi/His students
That shit is never acceptable and i will never interact with it even in Au’s (and that goes for kakashi with his own sensei as well. That’s actually worse cuz minato started training Kakashi when he was five and died when he was 14. The only time Minato knows adult Kakashi is for a day in the war arc, when he is dead)
That being said, If i’m turned away from an age appropriate ship it is 100% because of Fandom. The only age appropriate ship i hate for Kakashi on its own without fandom interference is Kakashi/Rin.
And one of the main reason’s I as a writer don’t read a lot of fic is exactly because of the OOC bs that comes with a lot of shipping.
The competent Iruka/ Incompetent Kakashi
Perfect good at everything Gai/Depressed nothing to his name kakashi
The just… the whole Kakashi/Yamato is the only good pairing and everything else sucks or has no where near the same ‘value’ from that fandom. I love Kakayama but gdi that’s such a mood kill for the ship.
I sit in my corner and do my own thing because i can’t stand how OOC Kakashi and others get twisted. I like them for who they are in canon and i’m not interested in these terrible twisted takes that make them into people they simply are not.
Their take on Kakayama is one i don’t really see. Ya Yamato saw Kakashi’s darkness and is more trusted with the shady things, that’s not a good thing in my opinion. Anbu was terrible for Kakashi in canon. That darkness did not need support and fostering and understanding. Kakashi needed help and Yamato is not equiped to be that help because of his own trauma’s. I like kakayama when they’re older because they have a chance to grow apart and find their own place. Yamato has an opportunity to really seperate himself not just from danzo but from kakashi
Because Kakashi replaced Danzo in a lot of ways. Not as Yamato’s teacher, but as Yamato’s life line. Yamato had bo other friends or connections to fall back on when he was pulled from Root
He had Kakashi. Just Kakashi.
They needed to be separated for Yamato to grow and become his own person and not just realize how different him and Kakashi were but accept it.
Kakaobi is interesting in the twisted unhealthy ‘this will destroy them’ way for me. Nothing good can come out of this pairing in canon. They are not healthy for each other and they understand this.
They relish in this.
Kakashi feels he needs to be punished for failing Obito and Obito needs someone to punish. I don’t think Kakashi would just give into Obito like a lot of the fandom
I think there would be a lot of scrapping and screaming and anger
It would be bloody and dangerous and so beautiful but so very unhealthy
KakaIru is a fun ship because Iruka is an outside force. Hd’s a balance for normality that even Gai can’t give Kakashi. He’s the dude who’s not a big special character and never saw Kakashi through his darkest times but who still looks at this broken man and see’s worth. Something he can love. That’s interesting to explore. I hate ‘Iruka’s secretly a badass’ because Kakashi has enough badass’ in his life. He doesn’t need another one.
Iruka is a pairing where we can explore Kakashi having someone to come home to. Someone he doesn’t worry about being out on missions. Who he doesn’t feel that stress of impending loss with. Because Iruka is an Acadamy Sensei. He doesn’t do missions.
His life isn’t in immediate risk almost all the time and for once Kakashi can relax.
Kakagai is my favorite because Gai was the first person to step up and offer Kakashi both a challenge and a support. Gai fought against the system that wanted so desperately to turn Kakashi into a weapon and tried to keep Kakashi human. To help him retain his kindness. Gai was the first person to see how bad Anbu was for Kakashi and fight for him.
I have issues with Gai volutelling Kakashi as a Sensei, but that came out of desperation. He just so desperately wanted to save Kakashi he would hse anything, including a job Kakashi was not suited for but was better than Anbu.
Kakagai is my favorite because Gai saw Kakashi’s darkness and didn’t try to change it or take it away. Gai knows Kakashi’s darkness and accepts it and offers him a place where it doesn’t have to exist.
Also you can just tag @huskymaine XD they follow me so they’ll see this anyways most likely

Idea by Owl/Melon
This was supposed to be a happy AU but Owl ending up making this angst and sappy soo... i will make a few Hc and story about this AU. Oh i forgot to mention that they all being Crowley adoptted sons. And this taking place in the normal AU, and same age as the canon one. Except for Yuu and Crowley.

He is a kind-hearted father that really loves all of his children. His wife dead when Yuusha is 5 years old, but now he is dating someone that soon to be his new wife/husband.

So deuce was sent to the orphan for awhile, afraid what happen he's suffer Bipolar from the events happened. One day Yuu come to check on him and said that he can stay with yuu and their family, and so that was the day where deuce adopted.

Riddle who has a same problem with his own family, ace decide that they both should ran away and they ran away. But, they we're been chased by their own parents, they ran to the woods and met Grim who save them and take them to Crowley's household.
Jack Howl Lifes with his own family that loves him whoever he is, but sadly all of them must be seperated due to their parent debt. And so jack is being someone else servant, he's been mistreated by lots of people due to that time. One day when he tried to run away he met Yuu that save him on that day. He really happy that finally someone save him and make him accepted and love him again whoever he is.
Sebek Zigvolt The youngest sibling aside from Ortho, he was being adopted when he met crowley in the orphanage, sitting by himself scared of people because of his social anxiety. Crowley approached him nicely and ask him if he want to stay with him and his other children. At first sebek really scared but crowley assure him that he will be loved and cherised by everyone, and so he does accept it and a part of crowley's family.

On the Lan Sect negativity:
1) The Lan Sect’s involvement was only at Discussion Conferences and the like - events they had to attend. No real choice, they had to go. But WWX mentions only the Jin Sect at Qiongqi path, and only the Jin and Jiang Sects at the siege.
WWX only mentions that WN might have hurt Lan Sect members when he went wild at his execution with WQ - and it should be noted that the Lan Sect let LWJ argue on behalf on the Wens. They had the power to stop him, but they didn’t. At the Nightless City, WWX seemed to attack everyone with no mercy or distinction between friend or foe. Of course they’re worried when LWJ disappears with him. But LXC specifically points out that he wanted to do it secretly, so it wasn’t a Lan Sect siding with the Jin Sect thing.
Yeah, there was the Second Siege... but the Jin Sect had “proof” that WWX had killed innocent people and had kidnapped Sect heirs and junior disciples. Not great proof, but ya know. And the Lan Sect was one of the first ones willing to listen to WWX.
2) We don’t know what went on with LWJ’s mother. We don’t know much about who she killed, why she killed them or anything. The fandom likes to paint her as this helpless victim but we don’t know if she was. We don’t even know if she was in love with her husband or not. You can speculate. You can headcanon. But you can’t know. It sucks, but it is what it is.
3) We see in the extras that it’s perfectly normal for Sect members to interact with someone of the opposite biological sex. WWX sees and talks to a female disciple, who was heading to feed the rabbits. And, actually, it seems that the separation only happened recently, as WWX’s parents met at CR. CSSR met JFM at CR. And it seems like a lot of the parents were there as well. It’s probably a tradition for Sect heirs to go. I wonder what could have happened with the past generation that could have caused the Lan Sect to decide “You know what, let’s seperate them”? That sounds like a great idea for a crack fic, honestly...
Anyway, the gossiping rule is only there to discourage the spread of misinformation. Considering that one of the main themes in the novel is the dangers of taking gossip at face value without looking into it, I don’t think that’s a rule we’re meant to find oppressive.
4) Where does it say that the “no talking to WWX” rule is written on the wall? I’ve only seen it in fics. And rereading the extra it was introduced in... hmm, not there... maybe translation differences? Or maybe it’s an exaggeration? Either way, this rule is clearly not taken seriously as WWX is allowed to teach the junior disciples. Without LWJ present even. This is shown in two seperate extras. So, unless we assume that the Lan Sect is too dumb to realize that WWX and the juniors all disappearing at the same time has a connection, we can assume that he’s probably allowed to teach them. And it’s very hard for a teacher to teach without communication with students.
5) Yeah, the Lan Sect has plenty of rules, but the rules are clearly dealt with differently depending on what they are, and the circumstances they are broken in. Like the rule against fighting - that is clearly fine to break if you’re fighting to defend someone or something. The rules against noise and running? Perfectly fine to break if there is an emergency and you need help instantly (or if you want to scold someone for doing something wrong). Someone being unconscious doesn’t violate the sleeping rules either.
It should also be mentioned that they’re even willing to let things slide not only based on serious (we never see WWX punished for running, or sleeping in, for example) but also on knowledge. They don’t punish him for those first four rules he breaks, they just make sure he can’t use not knowing them as an excuse to break more.
6) Yes, “Do not grieve is excess” sounds messed up on its own. But one, I don’t even remember if that’s a canon rule or a fanon rule (this is not as easy to double check as the rules in the extras), but I don’t remember it in any version I’ve seen. Two, there are certain parts of the grieving process that can actually be detrimental to one’s health if preformed for too long. The rule doesn’t put a time limit on grieving, it just says “excess”.
1) I believe it’s mentioned that they were present at the first siege, but it was the Jin and Jiang sects that were leading it and as I’ve mentioned before the fact that they felt the need to hide the bodies suggests to me that the Lans (and Nies) were far enough away from the actual Wen village that they never saw any of the remnants; it’s not like there wouldn’t be a large number of fierce corpses to keep them busy in the Burial Mounds. I think there may have been some Lan cultivators at the ambush? But that may be CQL-only (if it was a thing at all; I may be misremembering), and either way we never get any evidence to suggest their presence was sanctioned by the sect as a whole. And yeah, the Lans at the very least hid LWJ’s involvement from the rest of the sects; it may have just been an attempt to protect their own, but they were prepared to let a connection to WWX slide, at least. (Not to mention I don’t doubt that at least some of them suspected that A-Yuan was connected to WWX in some way, and no one said anything about that; I’ll be the first to admit that I can’t prove that, but it seems like a reasonable assumption.) And as you say, in the second siege they’re quick to stand down when given reason to believe that WWX isn’t an actual threat, not to mention how their sect leader actively sheltered him from the wrath of the sects not long before that point.
2) Yeah, that’s always the thing with the “the Lans locked up the Twin Jades’ mother and forced her to marry against her will” thing. It’s certainly a possibility, but it’s not a guarantee. The only source we get is getting the story second hand from people with a vested interest in making the whole affair look as bad as possible (to lower the risk of their current sect leader and heir doing something similar, which... fails). And if it did happen it doesn’t guarantee they’ll do it again in a very different situation; in fact we know they don’t, since WWX and LWJ’s marriage is accepted, if only grudgingly, and there’s no sign of them locking WWX up.
3) I imagine male and female disciples were always separated during classes, but it doesn’t follow that they’re separated all the time; clearly there are at least co-ed areas, if a female Lan disciple is going to visit the rabbits. Personally I’m thinking maybe the separation is at least stricter during the lessons to avoid distraction (hence why WWX never saw a female disciple as a kid but ran into one by accident while living in the Cloud Recesses) and it was probably a thing while the previous generation was there (CSSR is the exact sort of person to sneak into areas she’s not supposed to be in; I mean, she breaks into LQR’s room). But yeah, if nothing else there’s no reason to believe the male and female disciples don’t share information and a rule against sharing information that isn’t proven true (in a sect with rules against lying) which is generally rather negative towards the target doesn’t exactly seem unreasonable.
4) I think it’s in the ExR translation; is it not a thing in the original Chinese? But yeah, at worst the entire sect turns a blind eye to this rule being broken constantly, and more likely it was just quietly removed (if it was an official, policed rule to begin with, which is debatable). People seem to take that rule way more seriously than it’s ever taken in canon, honestly.
5) Yeah, the Lans are clearly prepared to make allowances in the rules for various reasons; there’s no reason to believe that mental health stuff wouldn’t be considered worthy of a similar allowance. Note that whenever we see a Lan faced with a clear mental health issue their response is to try to help; somewhat clumsily in LWJ’s case, but they do want to help, not shove the person back into some semblance of normalcy. That suggests to me that someone having genuine issues with following the rules would be treated more gently; note that LJY’s rule-breaking is treated mostly with mild exasperation and the usual punishment (which also grants Lan disciples a pretty useful skill, in this case; incredible arm strength is the Lan Thing, after all) and no one really seems to get fed up with him in any serious way.
6) Honestly, of all the sects I think that the Lans quite possibly have the healthiest grief-management stuff? I mean, we don’t see much of the Jins, but the Nies seem to go for “Channel everything into Rage and Fighting” and (while odds are it’s not indicative of the Jiangs as a whole, at least under JFM) every time we see grief in the Jiang sect it involves JC trying to murder WWX, which... is a whole thing. I’ve always taken “Do not grieve excessively” as “Do not let your grief consume you”, which is in fact a healthy way of looking at it; I don’t know if the Lans have grief counselling, but there is a point where grief just becomes incredibly unhealthy and saying “Hey, don’t do that” is at least... something. I do hope they offer some sort of assistance though, because just banning all-consuming grief and offering no help would be a whole mess. Still, if any sect is going to offer some form of counselling it’s going to be the one with the magic music for calming the mind!

teacher au !
(i only know how the american education system works + my school is very standard and could even be argued its worse than most public schools but thats my only point of reference ! ap stands for advanced placement and essentially means classes someone can take in hs and at the end of the year take a test, if the test is passed they gain college credit.)
roman: the loud drama teacher who doubles as the ap english teacher for the senior class. hes the teacher all the gay kids go to when they need to vent or just need advice. he makes his english class as interesting as possible; its the ap senior class so the entire course is focused on british literature, the shakespeare unit is always everybodys favorite bc roman knows so much and makes everything much easier to understand. his theatre classes are extremely chaotic and are his favorite classes of the day. the drama room is a safe space for a lot of the gay kids at school and roman makes sure hes in his room during lunch every day unless theres Important Teacher Buissness he needs to attend to. hes the director for the after school plays and 'makes' virgil codirect with him (hes in charge of all the techies). he has his favorite students (he would never admit it but like everyone Knows) who often view him as a parental/older brother type figure. hes stayed after school with kids for hours until their rides came and has even given kids rides home. hes really close to his kids and each year he cries when the senior class leaves. the theatre department doesnt get a lot of funding so roman works hard to put on shows that they can be proud of and each year he becomes more and more motivated to being new people into theatre.
logan: hes the junior year ap language + composition teacher !!! he tutors for every subject bc hes knowledgeable so he teaches basically every subject. a lot of kids go to his room during lunch + after school for tutoring and hes the reason half the school is actually passing their classes. he chose to teach language and compisition bc he loves language and being able to teach the importance of it. all of the students know just the right thing to say to get him off course and just talking about anything (theyre favorite thing is to ask about space) and he spends almost the entire period talking about that and not the actual lesson. logan + roman's english classes are next to each other and theres a door that seperates them. often times students will find sticky notes on the little window of the door that logan and roman have written for each other. all of the students think theyre secretly dating or at least WANT them to be. roman likes to go into logans class and be annoying when hes on his free period. hes also the debate teacher ! during free periods roman helps logan with his debate students. roman and logan often times get way too out of hand and their debates turn into a 'what not to do during a debate' example.
virgil: the art teacher ! theres only three art classes (beginning, intermediate, and ap) and he teaches all of them. during the start of the year hes fairly quiet and reserved but a lot of his students really like him. hes a very relaxed teacher and similar to roman gives a safe space for kids to hang out. a lot of the more reserved gay kids hang out in his room during lunch. he takes three days a week to make sure hes available to tutor during lunch, hes not as smart as logan but he has a good grasp on math so he helps a lot of his art students with their math work (theyre gay art kids ofc they dont know how to do math). virgil assigns the beginning + intermediate class to paint backgrounds for the plays and thats usually two weeks to a month that he takes his class to the drama room to work. its a way more loud atmosphere as roman also has classes going on. this is when a lot of the students see that virgil is not nearly as quiet and reserved as they thought. when hes around roman hes a lot more talkative; he's constantly jokingly making fun of roman and being a scarcastic pain in the ass. every year thats when his classes shift and hes a lot more open and fun with his classes. he plays music during class since hes not lecturing most of the time. he switches from playing classical to emo music, sometimes within the same day.
patton: hes the psychology teacher ! he only has two classes he actually teaches so when he isnt teaching hes actually a one of the two school psychologists (the other one being picani). he teaches two normal psych classes and leaves ap to janus ! hes a very hands on teacher and does lots of example based learning ! during lunch a lot of his students can be seen doing surveys to collect data for an assignment. as a school psychologist he makes sure to be as welcoming as possible, he understands why a lot of students dont want to see a school psychologist, they dont have a good rep. the kids who do see him though feel extremely safe and secure around him. hes really good at calming kids down from panic attacks, his office is filled with stim toys and theres at least 10 weighted blankets. some times kids come in just to take naps. virgil hangs out in his office a lot whenever students arent there. logan comes in on especially stressful days to either nap or read. roman borrows fidget toys from him on days where his adhd is particularly bad. remus comes in sometimes to get quick and weird psychology facts. janus and him have long discussions about philosophy and grade papers together !!
remus: anatomy and biology/ap bio teacher >:3 he is so insanley chaotic. he wanted to also teach chemistry but the principal (thomas) did NOT trust him to be around chemicals. disections are always fun ! he encourages students to NOT eat anything they disect bc hes alr tried it and it doesnt taste good (nobody knows if this is a joke or not). hes a very jokey teacher and is a fake asshole to all of his students. he is not a harsh grader at all and honestly even of a student dont get a single thing right on a test theyll probably pass as long as they tried ! roman often comes into his room during one of his free periods to tell stories about the borderline psychopathic shit remus used to do as a kid. theres a lot of storytelling in his class and each time the students are in disbelief. despite the chaos, remus is a really good teacher and everyone who takes his class learns a lot. hes definetly known to be one of the more interesting teachers and none of his classes are ever boring.
janus: he teaches ap psych, gov/econ (both normal and ap) and ap us history ! he has no free periods and he is completely ok with that. he and logan are both known for being chatty cathys and his ap psych class takes full advantage of that as a way to learn. although theyre different, janus talks a lot about philosophy to his psych students and applies a lot of what theyre learning to different philosophies. his gov/econ classes are more chaotic. theres a lot of debates and he still applies philosophy to a lot of the ideas he teaches in those classes. his ap us history class is the most chaotic. the debates in his gov/econ classes are more amoungst students but his us history class has held a lot of debates against janus and his more closeminded students. janus teaches a lot of stuff not normally taught like black history is america, native history, and a lot of the shit america did Wrong in the past and how its affecting the present. on top of his full class schedule hes the advisor for mock trial who meets afterschool. patton comes in to help the best he can (usually hes a 'what not to do' example). roman also comes in to help them make their roles the best they can possibly be
#sanders sides#roman sanders#patton sanders#logan sanders#virgil sanders#remus sanders#janus sanders#logince#moceit#teacher au#ok so its technically morning bc its 5 am 😌#remus is based off my own anatomy teacher#he is a chaotic gremlin man and im sad i wont have him next year#he once told us he made a bet with a kid that he couldnt jump over his own arm#and the kid took him up on the bet like real money and the kid didnt do it right and broke his arm#to which my teacher called the nurse and gave him the money#he has wild stories esp abt his daughter lol#also logan getting distracted easily is based off my 8th grade science teacher#we asked him to tell us about the godfather movies and he spent the entire 50 min class talking about all of the god father movies#hes also an influence for remus bc he had wild stories and was a fake asshole to us#a kid had a little mark on his head from some like football accident i think ?#it wasnt big just like a little nic#and my teacher said 'oh its the mark from when yr mom trued to get ride of you it obv didnt work'#we had a discussion abt abortions at one of my table groups and he came up to us and said 'all you really need is a coat hanger'#we were 12 and that has stuck with me#he was also super passionate abt space and now he works at my local observatory#roman is based off my drama teacher bc i miss her :(#shes like a mom to me and the thot of not being able to see her for a long time is making me sad#i wrote this bc i miss school a lot which sounds whack#but like i wanna b a teacher school is important to me :((

HARK! That sounds like an ask that has just come in!
To anyone. I hope this isn't too small of a thing to send an ask about. Since Valentine's is coming up I remembered my ex. I still mess her like crazy, even though its been 7 months since we seperated. Thing is it was my first breakup, so it's been difficult to try and get over it. It was LDR, and I started to feel like I was getting in the way of her personal life and dreams and stuff, and our schedules were too different for us to keep it going. She had started to work more hours and was preparing to start taking classes soon if memory serves. I started to feel like I was just extra baggage, and I asked her if she wanted to keep it going. She said "honestly I dont know myself. I mean I love you. But I barely have any time for you. It would be selfish to keep this going." So we split up after that. She's probably forgot about me by now, which is fine, as long as she's happy I don't mind. She's found another boyfriend since, and I've had a few interactions with him. I can say with certainty that he loves her, and I know for sure that she's happy. I'm happy for them, and i've let go of my love for her in that way. I've accepted that the best way for me to love her is to let her be happy with someone else. But I still miss her from time to time. I've just been a little sad from thinking about it I guess. I ain't jealous or anything though. I've been told a lot that my eyes always look sad though, so I guess i'm not doing a great job at hiding these emotions. I think that's everything. Just had to let it out to someone, y'know?
Breakups can be really hard, especially your first one, anon. And it's perfectly normal to miss people you care about no matter how long ago.
Tumblr media
It can be tough to deal with emotions, especially around romantic holidays, and it's perfectly alright to be a little sad, especially since it seems like you really care for her and you seem to want whats best for each other.
Tumblr media
--
Waaahh, my small, magical girl heart crumbles apart and breaks upon hearing about all of this, anon. Like my student said, break-ups are always rough, and the first one is most certainly the roughest. Plus, the fact that it was long-distance sort of adds onto that sting, in one way or another. I truly am glad that you were able to let all of this out, and I’m relieved that you’re genuinely not jealous, for jealously can only worsen the sadness and sometimes even cause you to plummet into terrible, terrible despair...
Tumblr media
I also agree with Hina about it being okay to miss those you care about and to become a little emotional as a result. No matter how long the break-up was or anything, deep down, there will always be at least just that tiny piece of you that’ll miss that person. It’s valid and understandable in more ways than one, especially since she was a good person and you two genuinely cared about each other during that time. Still, regardless of these positive factors, it’s only natural to still miss her and feel a bit sad, and considering that Valentine’s Day is coming up, it’s even more natural and understandable to feel that way. While you may always miss her, I have hope that you’ll be able to get out of this small patch of sadness in due time. There’s no rush, as long as it’s not effectively affecting your daily life, to which, it doesn’t seem to be.
Tumblr media
Now, if you don’t mind, I’d like to give you a suggestion or two that’ll hopefully make this bit of sadness go away, or at least easier to handle. I would suggest giving journaling a shot. It’s such a relaxing hobby, and only you will have access to your journal! You can journal every day, every other day, or even once a week; the preference is entirely up to you, so long as it meets you mental and emotional wants and needs. You can journal about your feelings, your thoughts, anything and everything you want to write down and get off your chest. And the best part is: you can use super duper cute glitter gel pens! Ah, sorry, that’s actually my own personal preference; your choice of pen or pencil is also entirely up to you, tee-hee! Anyway, there’s also the suggestion of opening up about this to a close friend or trusted family member, since it might help lighten that weight of sadness if you were to confide in someone. And hey, it doesn’t always hurt to look into a new hobby either, since a new one can occupy your mind and distract you from the sadness. Overall, do what you think is best, and I know you will! I have hope in you, anon.
Tumblr media
I’ll always be here if you need to talk about anything else, okay? As your teacher, I shall do my best to continue radiating hope and helping those who want and need it! In the meantime, how about a hug? Or maybe just a gold star sticker? Everyone loves hugs or gold star stickers, or even both! You can have both, if you want. Just say the word, and the hug and sticker is yours!

hyouka poly slowburn so its like: (post-anime)
satoshi and mayaka are dating all through highschool and houtarou and eru are maybe a little more invested than friends would normally be, and step in when they have problems to a degree that regular people would call a boundary issue.
houtarou and mayaka still give each other shit at every opportunity, but theyre much more outwardly friendly than before, and if she ever argues w satoshi houtarou is the first to say that theres no way its her fault. maybe one time it is and he confronts her abt it in a way that forces her to take him seriously. its the respect and codependency for me.
mayaka and satoshi have functioning eyes and houtarous feelings for eru are completely obvious to them. unfortunately shes a little harder to read, so they never really get further than being very close friends and committing to being together for the foreseeable future, as far as this road will take them - its the same dynamic for the entire friend group, but satoshi starts seriously considering a proposal in third year.
he and mayaka will be seperated through college - she wants to go to art school, he thinks he might like to be a teacher (specifically of like, textiles or language) and he thinks long distance is too much to ask of her. after a serious conversation she agrees and they take a break through college, but they are tentatively engaged, will be keeping in touch, and want to pick things back up once theyre both in the same location again.
mayaka and eru flat in college, bringing up mayakas long buried feelings for her, and theyve always been so touchy, and she has a feeling that erus guilty about something? but she doesnt want to get her hopes up. she gets really frustrated and confides in the only person who knows both satoshi and mayaka and isnt involved - HOUTAROU, who attends a less prestigious college than eru but is taking similar business courses (he hasnt forgotten) and is commuting from home.
hes closer to them than satoshi, but theres still a little distance and they dont meet as often as theyd like, partially bc he doesnt often make the effort - the energy he does have is expended on his classes, bc he has a motivation to do well - if he does, maybe eru will consider him without him even putting himself out there. anyway she still calls him on the phone all the time tho.
he doesnt really have any advice when mayaka speaks to him, but hes quick to reassure her that satoshi wouldnt be bothered by her feelings - "because its eru". functioning adults refer to each other by their first names. it was a super embarassing transition period but theyre used to it now.
so mayaka takes the leap and eru admits that while shes never really been one to dwell on romantic feelings, she reciprocates but is concerned abt satoshi - she loves him too, after all, and he and mayaka were/are/will be a great couple. she ends up confessing this to houtarou, filled w apologies and assurances that he neednt worry abt her personal matters, but he doesnt mind listening. anyway it stings (in a sad way, not a bitter one) that she apparently has interest in both mayaka and satoshi but not him, but he REALLY cant blame her. he tells her that he doesnt know how to advise her and she thanks him for listening, and then he does probably the most meddlesome thing hes ever done and calls satoshi and tells him everything.
satoshi is really cool abt it, and hits him w "lol if theyre dating what if i just take you out to lunch. fairs fair. what do you mean you dont know about my massive crush on you, mr observer didnt pick it up? oh wow okay youre really stupid when it comes to yourself. ill pick you up on friday" and then satoshi calls mayaka and gives her his blessing and assures that he loves them both and wishes them the best and wow they REALLY need to catch up soon. hell bring houtarou and they can compare date notes! and he hangs up.
satoshi is still kind of a petty guy and he probably only confessed to houtarou bc he was taken off guard, but hes not being inauthentic by any means. this is the new improved satoshi 2.0, who is becoming more comfortable w there being things he doesnt like abt himself and working on them and getting his feelings out constructively, rather than pushing them down and refusing to put himself in situations that might turn out badly. he gets his hopes up again, and is happier for it even when hes let down.
eru is shocked to hear abt houtarou and satoshi. mayaka isnt. they talk abt it, interspersed w making out, and are shocked to realise that they like both of them - mayaka is ESPECIALLY taken off guard, both by her own feelings and erus, which shed never noticed before. she almost tells eru abt houtarous 3+ years of pining, but stops herself lest things get messy. shes starting to get an idea, but needs to tread lightly. besides, its not like houtarou wld ever like her. theyre barely even friends. it doesnt all add up as evenly as shed like.
for houtarous part, hes genuinely in wtf mode irt satoshis feelings for him, and hes been in eru chitanda hell for so long that he never considered anything else, but now that he IS.... satoshi isnt so bad. he was always really cute w mayaka, when he wasnt being annoying for fun and profit. sure. okay. so they do some gay double dating through college, but the cross couple pining dont stop. satoshi is absolutely still obsessed w mayaka, but houtarou doesnt mind bc he cant take his eyes off eru whenever they meet up either.
she still calls him on the phone all the time, and when schoolwork picks up he often finds himself calling her w thoughts or questions. they do some more thought exercises, but they dont need to argue as an excuse, and she barely has to badger him anymore. one day he looks at himself and sees a functioning adult who spends a moderate amount of energy on things that arent necessarily necessary, and wants to sigh, but. hes happy.
college ends and they all find themselves back in kamiyama - satoshi is student teaching at their old middle school, eru is hard at work for her family, mayaka is working while she works on her manga debut, and houtarou is working while he figures out what he actually wants.
its clear to all of them that mayaka and satoshi need to have a talk, so they do, and they come up with... poly. its unconventional, but they really are happy, and they really do love each other, and mayaka would love to start wearing her ring again (satoshi never took his off, and she pretended not to notice but she had the biggest lady boner over it).
so now sometimes eru and houtarou are hanging out while their boyfriend and girlfriend are out on dates being engaged, making up for lost time and considering the practicality of marriage while they both have sidepieces, and houtarou and eru are pining BAD, but neither notices the other and he asks how her business is going and maybe kind of offers his assistance platonically.
so now THATS happening, and satoshi and mayaka get to talking one day abt how those two should date, shld we do smth? and if they did then the only pieces missing are mayaka/houtarou and satoshi/eru which is a beautiful dream but wld never happen, what do you mean he/she wld love to date you, wait really, oh my god, what, are we doing this,
and houtarou who has been working himself up to confessing for the past SEVEN YEARS, never gets to bc satoshi and mayaka interrupt while theyre at work and do it for him

Okay so Fire Emblem anon here!! Here's a Kinda Super Long Bc I Got Carried Away description of a few Fire Emblem games, plus some characters that seem like they hit tropes you like!
The good news is that there's not a super huge overarching timeline, there's several smaller timelines that are seperate from one another except for the crossover games. I'm gonna go with describing the newer ones that you're most likely to be able to get your hands on and play; a lot of people complain that they lean into some anime-tropey stuff and are too easy, but tbh, that's a perk just as often as it isn't. Basically, it's Game of Thrones, but rated T and with more cute girls and old men who are friendly instead of creepy.
Tbh, it's a turn-based strategy game with visual novel elements for characterization, if strategy games aren't your thing and you're just interested in the characters, watching the support conversations on Youtube might be more your thing. All the characterization, none of the resetting the same goshdang level thirty times. Anyways, description of the games in passing, including a brief description of the plot concept, pros and cons, trigger warnings, and some characters you might be interested in if you're just looking up characters.
*line break for legibility*
Awakening: for the 3DS. Follows Robin, an amnesiac mage, after they're found in a field by a band of knights called the Shepherds. Involves the undead, a twink in a mask, timey-wimey shenangians, and the usual cast of oddballs you'd expect from a Fire Emblem game.
Pros of Awakening: customizable player character, intro of Casual mode (turns off permadeath) and the Pair Up system, which lets you put characters together for shipping reasons strategy and stat boosts. Also doubles as a shipping simulator, since you can pair off characters and meet their later in the game due to said timey-wimey shenangians.
Cons of Awakening: there are some....very concerning combos of names/skin tones/plot relevance for certain characters, so go in with a warning about implicit racism. Also if you like strategy games, this game is relatively easy to break and make "too easy," but tbh that's what Lunatic Mode (the Ultra Unfair Hard Mode) is for.
Trigger warnings across the main plot: underhanded politics, attempted assassinations, martyrdom, an optional character is implied to stalk Robin but idk how to tag that, identity crises, conflicts within a family, character who isn't you looks like you, backstory child abuse, an optional character is a bad portrayal of DID if you squint?
*line break for legibility*
Fates: is actually a group name for two games set in the same universe, and a DLC bonus story: Birthright, Conquest, and Revelations. All for the 3DS. All three games star Corrin, a pacifist raised in seclusion in the kingdom of Nohr. Each game reflects a different path Corrin can take in navigating the war between the nations of Nohr and Hoshido: Birthright has them stand with Hoshido, Conquest with Nohr, and Revelations has them strike out (nearly) alone. Each path has a completely different storyline, cast of characters, and difficulty curve.
Pros of Fates: honestly, the characters here cater the most to the avid pro-shipper and multi-shipper. I just love this cast. Both Nohr and Hoshido have four members of the royal family you can play and get to know, each of those royal family members has two retainers who are various levels of dedicated and/or unhinged, and the cast just widens and widens. Also a character customization and shipping simulator point for the same reasons Awakening gets it. Also, canon fujoshi rights (there's a character with a skill called Daydream, which boosts her stats when two male characters are paired up near her. one of us, one of us). Also the first game with canon queer characters: both Rhajat and Niles are bi.
Cons of Fates: unfortunately, the writing is kinda rushed or badly translated in some places. Also *shakes IntSys* my lore! Give me more lore! Also, iirc, you could get both physical games in a bundle for a discount when they came out, but not anymore, so it's sorta like Pokemon with version exclusives. Which is less fun, since you can't directly trade characters. Also the fandom for this game is RIFE with discourse, which is kinda sad bc I just wanna talk my ships with ppl sjxhdjdn
Trigger warnings for Fates: child abuse might as well be Nohr's middle name, in-universe racism (since Hoshido is p obviously Japan-inspired, and a lot of Nohrians are rancid to Hoshidans), kidnapping, on-screen murder, lots of fighting your loved ones (on both main routes, you gotta fight the playable characters from the other side AAA), su-c-de, death of sibling(s) in certain routes, demonic-like possession, there's like six characters people can read as bad mental illness rep, Niles especially is discourse bait for being a kinky (yes that's canon) bi man of color but also he's awesome so die mad antis
*break for space*
Shadows of Valentia: for the 3DS. A remake of Gaiden, the second game in the series. Follows Alm, a farm boy from a small village in Zofia, and Celica, his childhood best friend. Zofia and the nation to its north, Rigel, are two nations ruled by the dragon gods Mila and Duma, respectively. Normally, they're in equilibrium, but Rigel is invading and Mila is missing, prompting Alm and Celica to independently investigate the problem.
Pros of SoV: the most like the old-school Fire Emblem games, but it also has the permadeath-off mode. also the first to be fully voice acted! The art style is gorgeous, and the plot was polished up from the old game--two characters names Berkut and Rinea were added, and they are PEAK OTP the diskhorse can die mad. Also the cast is pretty fun all around, from buddy squad and the older brother/dad figure they adopted along the way to "hello this is my gang of childhood friends, we're gonna kill a god" Also introduces Mila's Turnwheel, which lets you rewind your moves if you realize you goofed big time and screwed yourself over.
Cons of SoV: has the most references to other games, but you won't, like, be lost if you don't get them. You just might have a few interludes of "who tf is Camus/the White Wing Brigade/etc" but it's easy enough to look up on the wiki. Also tbh, the plot kinda drags in the middle, there's some filler battles to try and make it feel more realistic and it feels...weird. Also no custom character, you are Alm and Celica and you will Like It.
Trigger warnings for SoV: you know that thing where a girl character gets killed off for a guy character to angst over? the game starts with a fakeout version of that. also a character slowly goes mad over the course of the plot (but it's really well done imo?), there's some self-sacrifice stuff in there, classism is a major theme, possession/selling your soul™, there's a couple of levels where you're exploring tombs/prisons, I'm sure there's something else but I'm forgetting right now

Three Houses: on the Switch. The newest game in the series, and the most polished imo? Stars Byleth, a wandering mercenary turned teacher at the Officer's Academy. The Academy, housed in Garreg Mach Monastery, teaches youths from across the land of Fodlan how to be warriors, commanders, and knights. Students are sorted into three houses based on their country of origin: the Black Eagles are from ghe Adrestian Empire, led by the heiress-apparent Edelgard; the Blue Lions are from the kingdom of Faerghus, led by prince Dimitri; and the Golden Deer are from the Leicester Alliance, led by Claude, grandson of the Duke. You choose one of these houses to lead, and then everything quickly goes sour.
Pros of Three Houses: It's such a rich experience! The music is incredible, there's so much lore, and you can wander around the Monastery and hang out with the students to your heart's content. Also, it's four storylines for the price of one, even if they're all relatively similar in the first half. It does a pretty solid job of weaving together its themes into a satisfying narrative that will make you consider everyone involved. Also we got our first bi main lord (Edelgard) and non-white main lord (Claude is mixed race) in one fell swoop! Also, given the setting, it's teacher/student ship heaven.
Cons of Three Houses: just gonna come right out and say it: one of the villainous factions in the game is pretty substantially tied up with some anti-semitic tropes. There's no way to ignore it, it's just bleh, and I'm not gonna send anyone in without that warning. Also, though there's some characters you can persuade to switch sides, or spare, there's no route where there's a happy ending for everyone. Also there are so many people who are fake deep about the themes of the game, so be ready for the worst takes imaginable about your faves. also super trigger heavy, see below.
Trigger warnings: MANY. Garreg Mach and the Church of Seiros are very reminiscent of catholic religious stuff, for anyone with religion triggers, blood in cutscenes, death of a parent, death of a sibling (different characters), major gaslighting vibes in some places, lots of people going unhinged, some white savior™ vibes in places, body horror, creepy ass weaponry, backstory genoc-de (mostly not related to the anti-semitism), blood magic (definitely related to the anti-semitism), in general it goes to a lot more effort than the other games to make you think about what's Actually going on, even if it doesn't always work.
*break for legibility*
As for characters you'd like, if you just want to look some characters up, my recommendations based on what I understand about you include:
Awakening: Libra fits 'gnc man of the cloth' so well it's actually a conversation in game: "so what's a woman of the cloth doing here?" "...man, sir, man of the cloth." And Then He Never Gets Misgendered Again. Also Nowi's supports sometimes feel like a jab at antis-- she's a manakete, a person who can transform into a dragon. Manaketes also grow really slowly, as in "middle aged looking manaketes are like 1000 years old," so she's got major baby face and copes with being mistaken for a teenager by making jokes. Also Gregor, who she first appears with, is pretty fun--older mercenary with a thick accent who is like 80% here for a good time. Also Walhart, who's a villain but got some content added as DLC.
Fates: any interactions between Corrin, Leo, and/or Camilla are probably right up your alley--Camilla is obsessively protective over her siblings in a way that's Very Definitely Platonic™, and Leo also canonically has a crush on her in something that was cut in the English release. Also Gunther--once upon a time he was your classic knight in shining armor, now he's semi-retired, Corrin's personal guard, and covered in scars (and his voice is gorgeous too)
Echoes: my biased answer is to listen to every single line Ian Sinclair read for Berkut because he absolutely did NOT have to go that hard. My actual answer is to point you in the direction of the pegasus sisters Catria, Palla and Est, or maybe the older gentleman who's the head of the Priory, I forgot his name oops abbdbd. Also Clive is a devoted husband to one Mathilda, who looks just like an older version of his sister Clair 🤔
Three Houses: knowing you, you'd adore Hanneman--an older professor who's extremely passionate about his work, to the point where he tends to forget personal space and such. Also Seteth, like I mentioned before (join me in simping for him and his gorgeous pecs) and like, honestly, I know ppl make jokes about Alois but he's rlly good. Soft, awkward but he doesn't care, dad jokes everywhere. And also Mercedes, both because she's the biggest sweetheart imaginable and everyone should love her, but also bc she is just walking potential for the kinds of stuff you post on this blog. On one hand, she's the oldest student at the Academy and attached at the hip to one of the youngest, Annette (tho people act like they have a way bigger age gap then they actually do) and on the other hand, she has a long-lost half brother she can encounter (who I will not name for HUGE HUGE spoilers reasons) who she spends the rest of her life with in one of her endings. Heck, he has three possible endings total! Total!
Basically I brought the games up bc I'm used to being on the side of the fandom where everyone shoos anything uncomfortable under the rug, but there's so much material here that's being wasted I SWEAR
If you have any other questions I can send another anon? Your call! Thanks for hearing me out I love ur blog :3
OKAY!!! sorry for answering so late, but this ask was pretty much a BOOK (not that I´m complaining though! thank you so much! ;;u;;)
and from what I read here, I THINK if I´m going off on my first fire emblem adventure, I´ll try and pick up three houses if I get the chance! I have read your trigger warnings (thank you so much! ;u;) and I think I can take it! >:3
again though, I am really, really not a fan of anime and the anime artstyle in general (blergh! XP) so I´m not sure how I´ll cope with that in particular, but then again, an artstyle does not make a game! u3u
AND HANNEMAN SOUNDS LIKE A WINNER TO ME!! I looked him up and OOOF!!! he may not have NEARLY as many wrinkles as I´d like him to have, but the facial hair is definitely a step in the right direction! ;3c
NOW YOU GOT ME INTERESTED!!
LETS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Seventeen ships as Sibling AU (Mingyoozi version)
Tumblr media
Ok I should not be really starting a new series headcanon but ugh
I could not help it lmao, they have 70+ ships and the dynamic are cute and chaotic af, it will be fun if their are your siblings right? Like why not??
Now is up to you to decide that you are either older than them both or younger than them both. I will recommend to be the middle sibling in between Mingyu and Jihoon but i will keep my headcanon list flexible as i can  Blood related or related only by parent’s second marriage or only blood related to one of them is do able
Mingyu works as a chef/owner in family owned restaurant while Jihoon works as songcomposer
You could be a student or a normal office worker
You three live in a single storey house and your parents lives at other spot. Because the single storey house is near your workplace/school and near Jihoon’s studio.
If you are not related to Jihoon, :
You might feel this big brother is quite distant.  You get intimidated for no reason at the beginning.
You might try to download his songs to try to get some topic to chat. Only to realise he is actually a legend.
At first you might freaked out that there is smol hoodie monster searching the fridge during midnight, turns out that is the hungry Jihoon looking for food because he stayed up writing songs. You will get used to it eventually.
bonus point if you are related to Mingyu and have the same skill of cooking like your brother, you will be the one to whip up some food for Jihoon when Mingyu is not in then. Even better, Jihoon be the one knocking on you door asking you whats for dinner.
You will wonder if his tension are always low but he will prove you wrong as days pass by. Sometimes he will be the one to initiate jokes and pranks which caught you offguard because you thought he is the sensible one.
You will wonder if his closet are just hoodies and black tees lmao
You will wonder if coke is his version of water lmao
DOES HE ONLY EATS RICE???
You think his laughter is cute as hell.
Be amazed when you go into his room for the first time, all those instruments and CDs of artist (s) that he participated with.
Always taking side on the non blood related sibling by kicking his blood related brother lmao
Rarely gets angry but one look will suffice
Jihoon works and travels back and forth between his room and his studio. His work schedule are quite messy so sometimes you did not even know he is in the house or studio.
Get to first hand listen to new songs.
If you are related to Jihoon, :
You will be proud of him. You have all songs he composed in your playlist.
Constantly bragging about him.
If you are older than Jihoon, its your advantage to ruffle his hair. He will avoid you sometimes but he will stay still.
You and Mingyu will leave food for him with a message.
Definitely that you guys would be bonded on height issue if you share similar gene in height
Jihoon backs up on you by kicking Mingyu’s shin so that you can take back your stuff. *Bonus if this is what he is been doing since you 3 are kids.
Seeing him playing his guitar outside his room or just lying down on the couch playing his phone while you or Mingyu do the chores
Rarely gets angry but one look will suffice
When he is tired and need recharge from family member, he would just lie down near you and sleep or play his phone.
He will ask your opinion on the music, or even asking you if the song concept fits with the artist he working with
Already get used to visitors coming to the house, looking for Jihoon.
If you are related to Mingyu :
You will totally make use of Mingyu’s height to get stuffs from shelf. Of course this boy will help you out happily.
Brithday cakes by Mingyu is a thing to anticipate every year.
Piggy back rides during childhood
You and your brother can eat spicy food well.
Fashion teacher of yours, he might help doing your hair as well. (*Bonus if you are a younger sibling and your are going to prom, Mingyu would be the one to give you fashion advice and styles your hair.)
Putting blankets on Mingyu when he pass out sleeping on the couch or any corner in the house.
Get to try out new food Mingyu is trying to promote in his restaurant.
You will occasionally help in the restaurant.
Apparantly the restaurant get famous because of Mingyu’s good looks
Of course you are proud of him, he got looks got cooking skills.
He would be your happy virus.
If you are not related to Mingyu:
Or for some weird pride sake, you and Jihoon will get on a stool rather asking for help.
Bonus point if you are related to Jihoon for this headcanon : Both of you in awe at your new brother’s cooking. Sometimes even bring Mingyu to a specific restaurant so that he could taste the food and cook it back at home.
You cannot take spicy level like he does so he will seperate portion to make a milder version
Amazed at how much he eats.
if you are skilled in cooking too you would totally bond with him by helping him making meals.
Shocked to find him sleeping with weird poses, and he is not sleeping in his room. But eventually will get used to it.
Get to try out new food Mingyu is trying to promote in his restaurant.
You will occasionally help in the restaurant.
You wonder if any super star scouts has ever scouted on Mingyu
Shocked to realised that this boy is actually a big puppy inside.
Finds it funny because Mingyu is clumsy but can make delicate designed cakes, dessert and appetizer.
If you are related to both of them :
If you are youngest, this two definitely sing you to sleep when you are still a toddler. ESPECIALLY JIHOON, that is where his love for music sprouts.
Mingyu defo be the clingy brother and Jihoon will be the occasionally clingy one. More like the boss of the siblings. You would used to hide behind Jihoon because Mingyu wants to play with you so much but you want to be alone. Or,
You hide behind Jihoon because Mingyu keeps nagging at you.
As mentioned above, you and Jihoon jealous at Mingyu’s height.
Or Jihoon jelaous at yours and Mingyu’s height
If you are older than both of them, you might team up with Mingyu to give Jihoon a fashion change.
Making a fancy meal if any song Jihoon made becomes a great hit.
Occasionally making covers of song and upload to Youtube, using your account. You and Jihoon incharge of the vocals and Mingyu in charge of the rapping. OR you and Mingyu do the rapping while Jihoon in charge of the vocals.
No horror movie in the household because of Mingyu is easily scared.
IN SHORT, THIS HOUSE HOLD WORSHIPS JIHOON LMAO
Okay I will stop this here. Might do a part 2 if there is more to add. Let me know which ship as sibling au you want to read~~~!!

Wishing On Stars
So, fun story! Remember that quick one shot I made [Idle Threats] that was not quick at all and featured Deceit punching a guy in the face? Guess who made a sequel!
Word Count: 4958
Pairings: Brotherly Thomas and Deceit
Summary: Dee’s world is shifting and he doesn’t know what to do about it.
Quick Taglist: @chelsvans @felicianoromano @jemthebookworm @holliberries @stricken-with-clairvoyancy @treasureofpriam
Read on AO3 || Masterlist
Dante Ethan Ekans has never thought of himself as dumb. It’s simply not something he’s ever allowed himself to consider the possibility of. So what if his grades sucked and he couldn’t even buy a candy bar at the market with his unweighted GPA? So what if he wasn’t in any honors clubs or wearing nerd glasses or correcting his teachers in class? So what if he had never found a grammar error in his textbooks or maxed out his library card (can those be maxed out?)?
Dante Ethan Ekans—ugh just call him Dee—was not, is not, and never will be “dumb”.  He’s fought for his grades and lost, he doesn’t have time to waste on honor clubs, and its not like he needs to give his teachers anymore reasons to hate him. Since when has anyone actually read the textbooks? And he’s never really found a good book that keeps his attention past the third chapter.
But that’s never meant that he was dumb.
And fuck Dr. Logan Ackroyd for making him question that about himself.
Dee leans forward on the rickety structure, pressing his head into his arms into the cool metal bars as he does. He wants to stare up at the stars, wants to bury his head in his arms and sleep, he wants to tear the the packet of papers in his right hand to shreds and then feed it to Dr. Ackroyd with a sneer.
The stars over head twinkle, because that’s all the stars do. Dee had learned at the lovely age of six, no amount of wishing on the stars was going to change how reality had panned out. Stars were just lights in the sky with no ability to bring his dad back or obscure the burn marks on his face.
The papers crinkle in his hand, like a campfire, like a car crash that once again ruined his life. Or is ruining. Or, perhaps, is in the process of ruining? It feels like it, like everything good and great that Dr. Ackroyd had promised was collapsing on him and suffocating him all over again.
“I know you can do it,” The teacher had said.
And Dee really hates him for it. Really hates Mr. Walker for that car accident he was in and for not coming back, hates Dr. Ackroyd for showing up with his gaze of steel and his stupid ties and his “equality under the law” reign that’s dragged Dee from the cave everyone had exiled him too and let him enjoy a bit of light.
Sure, Dee can do it. He can also throw himself from the top of this old playground set and fracture his arm or something so he doesn’t have to go back to that stupid room and see that stupid teacher ever again.
The stars blink down at him, and maybe they take pity on the boy who aced Dr. Logan Ackroyd’s midterm test last week, because Dee thinks they look a little less distant than before.
He knows he’s not dumb. He knows that the formal red pen on the test, the long line, the circle and the next long line mean something great and amazing is on the brink of happening. He knows that Dr. Logan Ackroyd is to blame for it, because the man has no time for jokes and no time for nonsense and no time to waste leading Dee astray.
He knows the man means well.
He knows that he hates him for it.
Since when did anyone look at Dee and “mean well”? Since when did any teacher look at him and see something worth believing in? Since when had Dee wanted them to?
Dee knows when: since at exactly nine hours and nineteen minutes ago when Dr. Ackroyd had called him to "please, wait a moment, Mr. Ekans! Its imperative I talk with you." And Dee like a fool (which is completely different from being dumb, thank you very much. Dee very much was a fool), had paused just short of fleeing the classroom.
(Kyle Phillips had shoulder checked his way by him, the healing purples of his black eye just visible under the layer of concealer his mother had applied that morning and he had worn away through the day.)
Dr. Ackroyd had taught up to the bell, or at least he had talked up to the bell. Dee and the rest of the class had stopped paying attention after 2:15. For a terrifying second Dee had felt a cold hand clench his heart and the voices in his head whispered that this was it, the end, Dr. Ackroyd was finished pretending to be nice to him.
"I hope you don't mind if we walk while we talk," Dr. Ackroyd had said (and it most certainly was "Doctor" because the man had snarled something about several PHDs the last time a student had mistakenly called him Mister Ackroyd. To be honest it had been a little hard to make out while the man was foaming at the mouth). Dr. Ackroyd had gathered all of his teaching notes, several stacks of worksheets that needed grading, and his laptop into a bag and pulled it over his shoulder.
"You have a younger sibling to pick up at Mind Elementary, correct?" The teacher had asked, "I happen to have a colleague I am meeting there as well. To prioritize our time, it would be efficient to talk while we walk.”
And Dee hadn’t had a reason not to agree so instead he nodded and let the teacher lead the way.
On their way out of the building, they had run into Mr. Hart who had wished them “a wonderful rest of the day, and oh, Logan, text me when you’re both at the restaurant!” Dr. Ackroyd had waved him off with a soft smile and two seperate promises. Dee hadn’t seen any sign of Resource Officer Roman Prince anywhere, and he was silently grateful he didn’t have to watch the adult man sulk because Mr. Hart showered Dr. Ackroyd in love the second he entered any room. Dee had made sure to avoid that growing drama like the plague. It was a soap opera in the making.
They had carefully trekked out of the school building and down the walking path that lead to the student parking lot and then branched off to the sports fields and to the Elementary school. Dee normally tried to procrastinate the walk for a good fifteen minutes to avoid the drivers that like to play chicken with the kid walking on the sidewalk while they waited for the traffic to ease up. But no one would dare try to run him over with the new substitute teacher by his side.
(The rumor was that Dr. Logan Ackroyd could stop a truck moving at 100 miles per hour with just a look, and Dee wasn't immune to propaganda.)
Dee had focused on how nice of a day it had been outside, how the sun was shining so it wasn’t too cold, how the grass peaking out of the cracks in the sidewalk were rather resilient and how many breaths he was taking and was that too many? Was he annoying Dr. Ackroyd? Should he take less? Could he? How important was it for him to breathe?
"Mr. Ekans," the teacher had said, "I'm not exactly one for beating around the bush with these types of things. Patton often tells me I am too blunt, while Roman criticizes my delivery. However, I believe the best way to approach any subject is straight on to avoid deluding you with false pretenses."
Dee had wanted to state the hypocrisy: the teacher rambling on about how he should just say something instead of talking around it. But his heart rate had increased with every word which in turn caused his mouth to dry and his tongue to stick to the roof of his mouth.
“I finished grading the midterm you took,” Dr. Ackroyd had said.
It had been so much worse than any of the thoughts had been swimming through his mind. His chest tightened, his breath silently disappearing and his lungs refusing to work the way they were supposed to. He had wanted to apologize, had wanted to melt into a puddle on the sidewalk right then and there and safe himself from the embarrassment. He had wanted to avoid the part where Dr. Ackroyd tells him so plainly that he never should have risked his reputation for someone as worthless as Dante Ethan Ekans.
But Dee was only human, only a child, only normal. He stared hard down at the sidewalk at the patches of squashed gum that students had spit out in the past while waiting in traffic, at the tuffs of grass peeking up through the grass, at the loose rocks that his scuffed yellowed shoes tapped against.
“Speaking quite frankly,” the teacher had continued, “I was impressed--”
And Dee had really stopped breathing. His chest had heaved, the gasping word billowed past his lips before he could think to keep it back. “What?”
Dr. Ackroyd had reached up and tentatively adjusted his glasses. “I was relating how impressed I was with your test. As I predicted you are far ahead of your class-- far enough that I put in the request to have you moved up to my higher level class.”
“Wait what--”
“Additionally, your performance exceeded my expectations. You exemplify more dedication to learning than any other student I have seen in a good three years, Mr. Ekans. I entered your missing work last night and you far exceed the requirement for the Science Honor Society. I took the liberty of reaching out to Mrs. Hydrus on your account--”
“Stop!” Dee had blurted out. His mouth tasted like ash, his tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth, and his head was still ringing from being completely blindsided by the information he had just been given.
Dr. Ackroyd had paused, taking span of three steps to adjust his glassed once again and peer down at Dee. “Pardon? Is there something the matter?”
It was horribly pretentious when he said it like that. In retrospect, Dee groans into his arms and wishes he could invent time travel solely to go back and stop the two of them from ever meeting, from ever having that conversation, from ever existing. Logically, what the teacher had been saying was amazing news, the news of a lifetime: he had gone out of his way to do things for Dee that no other teacher had done and it honestly hadn’t ever occurred to the doctor that he hadn’t needed to do it at all.
“I can’t,” Dee had told him kicking a rock on the sidewalk. He didn’t elaborate, because it hurt so much to get two words out, he couldn’t imagine getting anymore out. He had wondered absently when he had allowed the rose bush to grow around his own neck, allowed to prickly, pesky thorns to embed themselves in his throat, when those blood red petals that had matched the flushed color of his face.
Dr. Ackroyd had let him walk another ten paces in silence-- as silent as it could get with pop music blasting from the cars stuck in the afterschool traffic and the game of honking that was going on distantly from the parking lot (that Dee was pretty sure Kyle was a part of).
“You can’t,” The teacher repeated, but he hadn’t sounded angry or offended. It had taken a moment for Dee to place the tone: somewhere between confused and curious. “I’m afraid I do not understand. As your teacher, I have assessed your ability and professed that you are certainly capable of keeping up in my honors class, and Vice Principal Joan has already confirmed that your school schedule can be amended around the new class with very little impact on your current learning courses. Additionally, the honors club for science has very few requirements: no more than three unexcused absences-- which you have none of--, at least an eighty-five average in the class-- which you now have a ninety seven--, and--”
“--and a grade point average of 3.0.” Dee had finished for him.
Because it wasn’t like at one point Dee hadn’t been looking into honors clubs. He knew collages looked into club activities, and that most honor clubs had scholarships that came with admittance to said honor clubs.
“Also, Kyle Phillips,” Dee had said lowly, “is president. He gets the power to veto any applications he doesn’t like.”
It had gone without saying that Kyle and him weren’t on the best of terms. The black eye incident hadn’t even blown over yet and it had been a whole week. When Kyle had found out that Dee hadn’t really been punished for punching him, he had whined to his mom, who in turn showed up at the school and demanded that Dee be expelled.
VP Joan had refused on some grounds or other, and it ended with her threatening to sue the entire school system. VP Joan had calmly told her that she was welcome to take them to court, just let them know the date. She had stormed out of the school.
And so far it looked like she wasn’t really going to push it, but VP Joan had pulled Dee into their office and asked him to lay low for a little bit.
Dee had dragged a hand through his unruly hair, “I guess it doesn’t help that Mrs. Hydrus doesn’t like me much either.”
It had gone without saying, again, that it wasn’t just Mrs. Hydrus. All the teachers didn’t like Dee much. The “why” was still something Dee was trying to figure out.
He had offered Dr. Ackroyd a parody of a smile. “Sorry that you wasted your time.”
And that should have been the end of it. That was usually the end of it. One of Dee’s apologies, a short tense silence, a backhanded comment that always, always, felt like a slap in the face and Dee left standing alone once again. When had Dee stopped expecting something better from people?
And why did Dr. Ackroyd keep upsetting these expectations of his?
The teacher had hummed to himself, staring at the distant elementary school. The brick building had a faded look to it: something that had stood for a thousand years and would stand for a thousand more, something that had seen hundreds of kids grow up and move on, something that should have been remembered fondly.
All Dee remembered was the fact his scars matched the pattern of the brick by the southern entrance from the number of times his cheek was grounded into it, and the way a deflated kickball felt slamming into his face repeatedly. He remembered the look on the nurses face when she told him to stop crying over the blood on his face, the annoyed expression from one teacher or other when he came in late covered in bandages. He remembered the librarian who always brought up the car accident when he saw her, always saying what a shame it had been, always ripping the scab off the wound before it could heal over and ten year old Dee trying not to scream at her for it.
“Mr. Ekans,” Dr. Ackroyd had said suddenly. “I have never once wasted my time on anything. I do not plan to start now.” He had picked at the packet of papers in his hand before hands before handing over it to Dee. Dee had taken it without really knowing what was happening.
“What?”
“I’m going to get you into the Science Honor Society Club.” The teacher had told him as if it were really just that easy.
Who knows. Maybe he really thought it was.
“I’m going to do all I can, Mr. Ekans, so I expect you to do as much as well. Bring your grades up.”
“What?!” Dee had stopped in his walk, blinked, and then repeated, “What?!”
“Surely you heard me the first time--”
“I did!” Dee had said hotly, “What do you think I’ve been trying to do this whole time! Bringing my grades up is not-- it’s not that--” He had spit the word between his teeth, “--easy!”
And Dr. Ackroyd had raised an eyebrow at him, in that way of his, “I know you can do it.”
Dee squeezed the test packet in his hand leaning forward on the old playground structure again. There it was. That voice, that absolute conviction in the teacher’s tone. At the moment it had filled Dee with a horrible fiery anger that send him storming away from the teacher and leaving him behind on that sidewalk.
He had picked up his brother. He had gotten home and did the dishes and made dinner and done everything that wasn’t open his backpack and look at his homework. Then when he had finally caved and pulled the four pages worth of good marks from his bag, he had immediately thrown that stupid test in the trash, taken it back out, flipped through it, ripped several of the pages, crumpled them into a ball, thrown it out again--
And at half past the Little Dipper, Dee was in his backyard on a playset that should have succumbed to the natural selection a decade ago, with the test in his hand and his ears ringing from a teacher who had such absolute faith in Dee’s ability he had managed to make Dee doubt the very law of his life.
(Like Newton’s law of Gravitation, or Murphy’s law of Perversity: Dee’s law of Loneliness.)
((It has a ring to it, didn’t it?)
Dee had been alone for all of his life, alone in his corner of the boxing ring there to be beaten again and again as others used him as a stepping stone to something greater. There had never been anyone cheering for him in the stands, any coach hollering advice at him, any water boy reminding him to drink in between rounds of the fight. It had been him and him alone.
All at once Dee becomes aware of the noise behind him, the dramatic shift in the balance of the playset he had been sitting on that causes the rusted metal screws to whine and the floor to shake. Dee yanks his feet up onto the platform and hugs the metal bar he had been leaning on and tries to remind himself that a four foot fall was not going to kill him.
Then the shaking stops and Dee chances a look behind him to see exactly what idiot chose to come outside and play on the goddamn kids play castle that Dee had already claimed brooding rights on for the night--
“Thomas?”
The eleven-year-old totters on the platform, less than a foot away, on his hands and knees and in socks that have several chucks of the playground mulch stuck to them. The kid looks at him with those wide eyes, a sheepish smile, and he unapologetically shifts so he’s sitting across from Dee.
“Hi, Dee!”
“What are you doing out here?” Dee asks, “Do you know what time it is? What about mom--”
Thomas picks a piece of mulch off his socks, “I couldn’t sleep.”
Dee had known Thomas since he was eight and Thomas was just a year old. He knows all the kids ticks, the way he picks at his fingers when he’s nervous and lying, and how he hates the cowlick in the back of his hair and how he hates when Dee leaves him alone with their mother, but never says anything because he feels guilty.
He knows that when Thomas says he can’t sleep its a lie, and he still can’t bring himself to be even a little upset.
“Go back inside, Tom,” Dee tells him.
“Why aren’t you coming in?”
“Because.”
“Because why?”
“Because.”
“That’s not an answer!”
“Go to sleep.”
“Fine!”
And because Thomas has known Dee since he was one and Dee was eight, he leans forward until his head hits Dee’s shoulder.
There’s a pause between the two of them, where Dee goes as still as he can, feeling the pressure of his little brother’s head right there on his shoulder, feeling the weight of the absolute trust, feeling the frustration fade right out of his bones.
“What…” Dee says, impossibly soft, “are you doing?”
“Sleeping,” Thomas answers equally soft.
The test papers in his hand crumple again, when he squeezes his fingers into his fist to wake himself from the dream he’s been living for the past week since Dr. Logan Ackroyd walked into his life. The reality doesn’t shatter around him; its distressing, worrying, and stupid, because Dee doesn’t think he’s known what to do in this upside down world.
If he accepts it, he’s going to lose it. If he fights it, it will destroy him. In the boxing ring of his life, Dee’s alone, lonely, abandoned and losing. The past week has just been setting him up to knock him back out of the fight and is it wrong for Dee just want to want the final blow to land, already?
“Whats that?” Thomas says.
And because Dee doesn’t lie to his brother, he flattens the front page out and spreads it for the moon to read. “My test.”
“Did you do good?”
“I did.”
“Then why are you sad?”
Dee doesn’t lie to his brother.
He’s not like his mom when she says “it won’t happen again” or like Thomas’s dad who says he’ll “be back in a little bit” and just to “tough it out” until he shows up like he isn’t gonna leave again in a week, a day, a few hours. He isn’t like Thomas’s friends who say they’re not scared of his brother, and he’s not like his own teachers who tell him that they “don’t give out grades, kids earn them”.
So instead he drives his chin into his chest and tries to speak around the lump in his throat. “I’m not sad.”
“Why are you angry then?”
“I’m NOT ANGRY!” Dee snarls, maybe a little more angry than he means, and he doesn’t regret it for a good one, two nanoseconds.
Three nanoseconds and Thomas flinches. “I’m sorry!”
And then Dee recoils, because fuck, he raised his voice, and this was Thomas and He raised his voice at Thomas.
The playset shifts dramatically underneath the two of them, wobbling like Thomas’s last loose tooth seconds before it fell out. Dee’s hand flings to the metal bar, and Thomas grabs the wall opposite of him. There’s a squeak of fear from them both, something shrill enough that Dee’s sure a light at the house across the street flicks on and off and a call to the police is probably being debated (and ultimately discarded, because no one called the cops for Dee’s broken arm three years ago or someone took a metal bat to their mailbox or the rock to the window, or, or, or.)
The playset wobbles, and they both cling to their respective parts, and they both stare at each other. Dee and Thomas.
At some point it stops shaking.
At some point, both their breathing evens out again.
At some point, Thomas says, “oh,” and they’re both quiet.
Dee can hear the crickets sing, the too-early morning breeze dancing through the wind chimes on someone’s porch, the soft even breaths of his little brother. The test scatters on the ground a few feet below them, picked up by the little wind and tossed across the little yard. Somehow it makes the whole world feel confined to this little bubble where it was him and Thomas and this stupid space that Dee had forced between them.
“I’m sorry,” Dee says and its different from the times he’s said it before, all the times his teachers dragged it out of him and all the times the other kids had claimed one as a person victory. This time he means it, because it’s Thomas.
“It’s stupid,” Dee says because he doesn’t lie to his brother, “It stupid and I hate it.”
Thomas, sweet, wide-eyed, little Thomas, waits for him so say more.
“It’s stupid that I’ve made it this far and I can’t go any farther. I hate it. They said that everyone had a chance and then they drew the line right in front of me, like “oh not you”. I hate that everyone has always ignored who I am and what I can do, what I’ve done-- and Thomas? It sucks. I’m so tired of it. I’ve tried so… so very hard to do the right thing every single time. They tell me to apologize, and I do. They tell me to try harder and I do. They tell me that I’m not going anywhere--”
Dee savors a breath, and forces it out just as quickly, possibly a little hysterically, “I don’t wanna be here for the rest of my life, Thomas. I can’t be here forever. It will kill me.”
Thomas at eleven years old is too wise for his age. Because he doesn’t tell Dee that he’s not going to die, he doesn’t tell Dee that its going to be alright, he doesn’t say anything at all.
Dee feverishly wipes at his eyes, because heaven forbid the stars see him cry.
(They’ve seen him do that enough already.)
“Dr. Ackroyd made it seem so easy,” He says barely more than a whisper in the silence of the night. “I’m really scared it might be.”
The metal feels warm to his touch, burning hot and he clings to it like a lifeline that will light his entire body on fire and turn the rest of his skin to match his face and shoulder and arm and, and, and.
“I’m really scared that it’s gonna be that easy after all, and that I’m going to make it out of here and that I’m going to get to college and that it will be the same exact thing all over again.”
“It won’t.” Thomas says, loud enough that Dee has no choice but too focus back in on him. The moonlight is playing with his pale skin and making his eyes shine. Or maybe those are tears. Is he crying? Or is Dee?
Thomas, wise beyond his years, too wise for his eleven years. Thomas says it won’t be like this out there. Thomas says he’s going to have a chance. Thomas agrees with Dr. Ackroyd.
“It won’t be like that, Dee, I promise.” Thomas says. “You won’t let it be.”
Unwavering faith.
“I know you can do it.”
He brings a hand to his face again rubbing those tricky, telling tears off his face. He sniffs, his ears prick, and his throat stings just a bit. How ridiculous is it, crying at half past too-late, and with his little brother watching him. He thinks of how Dr. Ackroyd must be somewhere probably asleep because that’s what normal fucking people were supposed to be doing--
And stupidly Dee thinks of that boxing ring of his life and thinks of Thomas standing in his corner smiling at him like he is right now, watching him take hit after hit and watching him get back up each time. And he thinks of that Science Teacher watching him with those calculating eyes, pen in hand and analyzing his opponent’s every move and crafting the plan of retaliation---
Just asking Dee to make it to the next round, to the break where he can get to the moment where he remembers why he’s fighting in the first place.
Thomas lets go of the wall, and carefully leans forward again. The playset squeaks slightly. Thomas stops just an inch away from Dee. When he calms down he reaches the last bit forward and hugs him. Dee can feel him shaking, can feel them both shaking.
And then the playset comes toppling down.
They both let loose twin yells of panic-- Dee blindly grabs to his side and pulls Thomas forward, covering him with his arms. The metal screeches, something wooden cracks and Dee feels absolutely, terrifyingly weightless for a full second.
They hit the ground heavily: Dee, landing on the platform base at an odd angle and Thomas landing on him at an odder angle. Dee loses his grip on his brother he rolls to the side. The air, what little bit of it was left ejected from Dee’s chest, and several part of his back and his arms and his legs are left whimpering with promised bruises.
And they’re left lying there, trying to catch their breaths in the wooden and metal wreckage, staring up at the stars.
And they’re left there, alive even after everything around them had come down around them.
“You okay?” Dee asks the second he’s sure he’s not dead.
“Yeah,” Thomas says equally out of breath. Dee watches him raise his head, slightly, a stupid shiny grin on his face and flushed cheek in the moonlight, “You?”
It’s not that easy, bringing his grades up. It’s not like flicking a switch, or knocking over a domino, or starting a car engine, or, or or. But he’s got a couple people (Dr. Ackroyd, Thomas)  in his corner, and something that he wants (Science Honor Society).
And the stars twinkle overhead the same way they’ve always done
“It’s so... fucking late.” Dee chokes out a sopping wet laugh. It tastes like salt and despair and something completely awful that he absolutely hates: hope.
Dante Ethan Ekans has never thought of himself as dumb.
He’s not.
