Would you like some lighting advice for photos from a theatre lighting tech/designer (learnt on the job)? Yes? Great.

Use 2 lights, 90 degrees from each other, and ideally, 45 degrees up from the subject

When you use one light source in front of your subject you flatten them

(Forgive my face. I am tired from 14h days)

1 light directly in front bad

Other light directly in front, also bad (although the stronger light is coming it too to make it slightly better)

Both lights at 45 angle 👍

It adds highlights to the contours of the subject and adds texture, creating interesting shadows while still lighting the whole face. This can be any two lights, but different colour/temperature can be achieved with just different bulbs, an LED one and a Generic will give this cool/warm contrast.

You can also position a bright light behind the subject to create a halo

Again, keeping the other light at an angle will highlight the texture of the subject

So much of lighting tech in my experience is less putting lights in places but more putting shadows in places.

We observe the lighting by looking for its absence

If you want to get fun colours then you can get cheap colour lighting gels for £5 (thin translucent filters for lights that are resistant to high temps) and electrical tape for pennies (also resistant to high temp), stick it over a desk lamp and you have a mobile colour light to give some great depth and variety to photos

Remember that gels are designed for high-powered lights, so if you have a Diddy little lamp, you may need to go for a faint gel. The main brands are Lee and Rosco, and Rosco #99 chocolate is usually good for all skin tones

Again, I'm just a theatre tech here, so some photography can tell you many more tricks and stuff, but yah, have fun, fuck around.

his mars is also in capricorn at the 29°, which is a universally critical degree. it can show domineering, thoughtlessness, lack of control, impulsiveness, etc.

What do you think of the idea that William didn't make Ballora modeled after his wife... but rather after himself.

No I do really really like this actually. I've meantioned before about how much I'm not a fan of the idea that Ballora and Bill's ex have any connection so the idea that it's his expression of his own repressed femininity? That's good that's very good.

The idea that he sees it as somewhat monsterous is fun too. Get that guy in therapy or smth idk.

I also like the recontextualisation of Ballora's little diddy she sings into being from Bill's perspective that's starngely haunting. Good.

On "Meet the Grahams" and the Moral Turn That Happened During This Beef

I know that I am on hiatus right now, but there is a lot on my chest regarding the rap beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake that is really making me feel uneasy.

I am a Kendrick Lamar fan, I have been a Kendrick Lamar fan since the 6th grade after hearing "Swimming Pools" so much on the radio that it just became a song stuck in my head. Kendrick is an excellent lyricist, performer, artist, and writer. And while Kendrick is all of these things, he is not the pinnacle of a moral high ground.

The moment that the rap beef between Drake and Kendrick turned into a battle of morals, it dawned on me that we absolutely missed the plot. The point is, neither Drake nor Kendrick are good people, and neither one of them are associated with upstanding people either. It gets incredibly weird to see specific arguments they make about each other when they have either done the thing they have criticized the other over or are affiliated with someone that has.

Neither one of them actually care about what they are accusing the other of doing because if they did, the authorities would have been called by now.

Drake in "Family Matters" alleged that Kendrick has put his hands on his wife, Dave Free fathered one of Whitney's children, Kendrick doesn't care for black women, etc.

Kendrick said in "Meet the Grahams" that Drake has hypersexualized black women, he is a deadbeat father, he is a sex trafficker only comparable to Harvey Weinstein and Diddy, he is a pervert, and he is a substance abuser.

Drake brings up Whitney being allegedly abused, but he has sex traffickers in his circle. An example is Baka, a member of his inner circle, who got shouted out ("I'll declare it a holiday as soon as Baka get back on the road") for sexual abuse crimes after forcing a 22 year old in prostitution and went to jail. Upon his release in 2017, he was signed onto OVO sound. Why bring up a woman's trauma when you are aligning yourself with someone who has also traumatized women?

Kendrick brings up the hypersexualization of black women but has also had women scantily clad in his "Loyalty" music video. Kendrick brings up Drake's substance abuse as if he has not also abused substances. Kendrick brings up being a deadbeat father as if he did not hop on a track that blew this beef up with Future, who is notorious for fathering a bunch of children and practically being a deadbeat. He also discusses Drake's perversion as if Kodak Black, who faced charges of sexual assault, was not featured on Mr. Morale, which Kendrick himself slated as his "therapy album."

I feel like all of these moral flaw arguments are incredibly disingenuous because none of this would have been brought up had they not beefed with each other in the first place.

It feels a little icky? Like yes we should protect women, children, and people in general, but that conversation doesn't get to start because you guys are fighting. If anything, it should have started awhile ago.

Popee the Performer AU of TOH

Got bored and whipped up this little diddy with Collector as Popee and King as Kedamono! The art itself is inspired by Dana's own art of Collector and King:

Collector still retains most of their personality but they have Popee's short temper and a bit of his sadism. He's human in this AU too, the face marking is just 'clown face paint'.

King tries his best to be a good mentor to Collector and doesn't let him walk all over him like a doormat (until he pulls out the bombs). He's also a wolf pup that just wears a lot of masks.

Also in this AU they're actually called Colectorr the Clown and Kingamodo but I finished the art before I thought of the names so meh.

On Gaylor ( I'm not a Swiftie or Gaylor but I'm just adding my pov)

I think some of the biggest evidence is that there are practically zero mainstream lesbian singers and actresses in Hollywood. Lots of bisexuals but where are the lesbians?? It's almost like the higher ups tell them not to use that label because it's too risky and you will be on pigeon hold as a gay artist.

( bisexual women can attract both types of fans because men sexualize bi women not hate them, and bi girls can also attract lesbians and relate to straight women so it's not a downside to their market.)

You need to attract men somewhat to play that game. There are more out gay men in Hollywood because Hollywood is a big gay mafia with "gay"tekeepers like Diddy, Ryan Murphy and Bryan Singer for example. There are less lesbian executives.

Bi men can't come out either because it's a one drop rule with them and it would be venom for their female fans. Cough** Mhawn Sendes

So that leaves poor bi men and lesbians at the bottom of the ocean when it comes to representation. Which IS the current state of Hollywood. You have to attract the opposite sex for good marketing....if not, good luck going indie. 👍
