i can't stand those 'the first words your soulmate says to you are on your skin' AUs because not nearly enough of them actually talk about the worldbuilding that would come from that concept

like i'm really meant to believe that people would keep saying generic shit like hello and nice to meet you when they meet new people?? NO surely everyone would try to come up with something unique and identifiable every time you introduce yourself?

and that's not even getting into the ramifications the concept of soulmates actually having verifiable evidence would have on society as a whole. what does being a soulmate even mean? have scientists looked into what causes the marks, ramifications of removing/covering them, the actual difference in relationship success between soulmates and non-soulmates? does society treat soulmate couples as more legitimate than non-soulmates? is this treated as superstition or an accepted force of nature by most people? do apps like tinder exist where people advertise their marks and how they introduce themselves in the hopes of finding the person who matches their call/response? would someone who uses ASL still create a mark on their soulmate and what would that look like? does it count if someone says it over the phone, text, internet? how is the entire romance genre affected by the existence of soulmate marks- do NON soulmate AUs exist in that world where people romanticise the idea of being free to discover your love without the pressure of fate?

bbc guinevere my beloved your own show did you so dirty you deserved to have an actual arc in season 5 and someone to talk to outside of arthur. like she and merlin were friends, they were Cool friends, wtf happened to that. did they forget. istg we talk a little about how the knights' personalities all got forgotten after two episodes but fuckin justice for guinevere who managed to keep her character but at the cost of being given anything to do

Not an anon but I saw your post on "Iruma has scars" and I completely agree that there's no way he doesn't have more fears/triggers other than being left behind

And yeah, his evasion is absolutely driven from his very bad past life, but other than this and his huge appetite, which is to store energy in case the next meal doesn't come, i cant find anything else

Like even his response to threats is normal. His response to fear is normal. It's like he's just your average dude who happened to stumble his way into the demon world

Him being overly nice is because it's easier for him to get what he wants that way. Why he's indecisiveness is because his parents never let him choose anything.

But how come his near-death experiences never influenced anything in him. In his responses or reactions or in anything in his life

This boi is so normal no one would've known he wasn't OK if the first two chapters didn't include his past

And i know that not all traumatised people will show it all the time, but he just cam e out of a abusive, unsafe environment. There’s no way he had time to heal for that before being thrown into the demon world

Antsy that he is now in a safe place, that nothing will attack him, but he's still waiting, tense, anticipating the next attack because he doesn't know what living safely is like

And that he stares. A lot. At anything and everything that could pose a threat to him. He's a human surrounded by demons who would tear him to shreds if they found out. There’s no way he feels safe enough to not keep an eye at anyone he doesn't register as safe

Im just saying. It'd have been so much interesting if there was side effects to his upbringing

Hear me out, Qcell is a unicorn that uses dark magic like trixie did once, except he's fucked up in the head and does not get as affected/corrupted as sane pony's do. Qro knows about it and is okay with it as long as his husband does not hurt him or his family, and of course, keeps loving him the same as he always did even before all the dark evil stuff.

QCell is way too devoted to even think of harming people he loves, especially his husband.
