#but the implications about what happened to her dad and her actor are just so sad to me and it's great
Been meaning to say this for awhile, but I hope more mascot horror going forward takes more pages from Amanda the Adventurer's Book.
Stop worrying about marketing to the children so much, and make an actual horrifying scenario based around a warped sense of Childhood Nostalgia. Amanda dealing with themes of abandonment, loss, and entrapment and can also be a deconstructive look at how some child actors get treated if you look deep on it. (and these are all my own opinions btw.. I haven't watched any game theory or whatever ppl are saying about it.)
Which is way more interesting to me then "evil science experiments, or a serial killer turned these mascots evil now."
I really loved this game since it's Beta premise and I'm glad it is gaining traction on youtube.
I hope that we haven't seen the last of Amanda. There's probably plans for a sequel, or even a whole franchise.
I just hope that the creators keep Amanda how it is, and try not to lean into that kids horror marketing. Not that there's nothing wrong with horror for kids, but I feel mascot horror is always stronger as a genre when it's appealing to "adults who remember growing up with this stuff" rather then "children who will buy our toys"

Initial Thoughts on Chenford in 6x07
All right... I'm feeling... a lot at the moment, so just sharing my initial reactions before seeing anyone else's. I'm sure my feelings will evolve. Also this turned into a GD essay and I'm sorry.
The Good
Grey acknowledging that Lucy was going through a lot ABOVE & BEYOND the break up. I just wish he'd mentioned the shooting, too. Lucy deserves to be more than her relationship with Tim and I need to actually see that in the future.
Lucy laying out 2 key things in her conversation with Grey - how easily Tim walked away and that he had no right to make that decision for her
Prior to the last scene (see The Ugly below), I thought Tim's interactions with the therapist were reasonably well done; if only therapy was that easy in real life lol
"You've always got a home with me" - I loved this final scene between Lucy and Tamara. I don't really have feelings either way about Tamara at this point, and this still hit me right in the heart.
Smitty's poll made me laugh, but also another solid indicator that these writers / producers do in fact really enjoy laughing at the expense of the fandom and shippers (which, whatever, I don't care that they do, I'd prob do the same; but it does irk me when people act like these writers should be worshipped because of all the things they "give" us)
The Tim
"I'm not depressed. I broke up with her."
"I was her TO." Not her friend, cuz god knows Tim has yet to deal with the fact that he started banging his former Rookie I suppose.
I dunno whether to put this in The Good or The Bad at this point; it depends on where they take it, so instead Tim gets a section all about why he's a dick.
To be clear, I do not like that Tim is a dick. But I actually do kind of like that it is very clear TO THE AUDIENCE that Tim is being kind of a dick. Do I still think people will bend over backwards to defend him? Of course they will.
From my perspective, I love Tim, I understand that he thinks he's doing the right thing, and has lots and lots of trauma. I've never seen Tim as a character that magically healed at some point between Seasons 1 & 5 (please see his storyline with his dad, his ongoing issues with UC work and unwillingness to confront or deal with them, his feelings about therapy historically, his inability to dump Ashley, etc. etc.). He's never been perfect and he doesn't need to be.
All of those things are true. None of those things give him a free pass to be kind of a dick. He still has to take accountability for how he treated Lucy (which, to be clear, was like sh*t).
The Bad
Lucy being petty AF with the invites to Tamara's dinner - let her be ANGRY, but give me villain Lucy over this dumb sh*t.
Lucy having no one other than Grey to talk to.
Others acting like Lucy is actually kind of pathetic (why do these writers love sh*tting on her so much? girl could not be down and kicked any harder at this point) -- Celina / Nolan and the double dumping crap, Lucy thinking Grey paid actors and him telling her she was out of her damn mind
The last interaction between Lucy and Tim. I am so angry for her. I needed to see that from her, but instead it felt kind of like her being dumped / a kicked puppy all over again. We got it, thanks. What's next? Lucy being incredibly happy with the hottest man on earth? I'm here for it tbh. Lucy plotting Tim's murder? Also here for it at this point. LOL.
The Ugly
I could not hate the implication of that final scene with Tim and the therapist and the door shutting more. There was ZERO reason they couldn't have had him show up during the day, and it actually disgusts me that they are pushing this line again, but especially with Tim. I am literally NEVER this dramatic, but in this case I really hope they did that to just get a reaction, because if anything were to actually happen between Tim and the therapist, I'd be 100% done with this ship and show as would a whole lot of the audience (I think). If I kept watching, it would only be to see Lucy be absurdly happy without Tim.
Well, what'd I miss? What did y'all think?

Finale!! Let’s go!! (Gonna write as I watch)
1)The scene with Luke was so cute but also a little creepy. What was up with that?? Also!! The initial narration of episode 1 is Percy quoting Luke?!?! My heart, I love them so much 🥺
2)Omg!! The fight was good af! Did... did Walker's eyes change color???? Not Ares trying to kill them with his " true form" as a last resort, sore loser.
3) mom??? Bro, you just saw her statue in the Underworld.... holy shit!!! Mrs. Dodds!!! The helm looks cool af ngl. Percy is so cool, like damn. Oh, yeah, the deadline passed, which means Poseidon & Zeus are definitely at war!!! That's what started WW2?!?! Gods being petty bitches... damn... He's done running from monsters 😭 (I love the implication that Zeus is a monster. You're right and you should say it.) Annabeth gave him her necklace 😭😭😭, that's so cute. An email, Grover 😂😂
4) That's one way to get Zeus's attention, damn. Just dropped the bolt in front if the doorman 😂😂. What do mortals see when they see the bolt??
5) Olympus looks cool af!! Oh, Luke & Percy again! Annabeth is terrified of spiders! Things that are small and scary get squished. Oh Luke is in his big brother mentor era!! Love to see it!
6) the council room!! The thrones look cool af, I can't wait to see all of the God's sitting on it! Oh, I have no idea how they're going to replace the actor, he is perfect as Zeus!! Yes!! Read him to filth Percy!!!! Holy shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poseidon surrended for Percy 😭😭😭😭, I'm- Oh, Toby Stephens always eat. Omg!!! They're speaking Greek!! Is it Greek Greek or ancient Greek. Does anyone speak ancient Greek. Everyone?? What are Apollo, Artemis, Dionysus, and Demeter??? 😭
7) Percy and Poseidon!! Omg! Patrus 😭😭. Poseidon's smile about Sally... Bro... Ares is a moron 😂😂 (they've done the family vibe of the Olympians so well! 😂). Answer the question, Poseidon!!! Do you dream about her!?!?!
8) I wonder if thet planted that tree specifically to be Thalia's tree or if they just found a cool tree they liked lol. They hugged!! Holy shit, Clarisse is still here??? What is happening?!?!?
9) Luke being a responsible leader! We stan!! Annabeth being all cool, I see her!
10) fireworks! So cool!! The mommy issues in Luke are through the roof. Wait does Luke look like he's crying?? Wait what??? What do you mean she didn't???? Wait what?!?! Wtf. Luke?!?! No. LUKE SAY SOMEGHING! NOT THAT!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!?! HOLY SHIT. IM CRYING. NO.
Oh, he's making some good points. This are some valid points. Episode 1 Percy would be eating this up ngl. I mean, not to be a bitch, but like... Luke sounds like those girls that have been groomed... all like "he loves me! He's gonna take care of me!" Like... are you sure???
Are they trying their best Percy?? Are they really?? I'm not an expert, but maybe don't mention his dad to the kid you know has daddy issues, if you don't want him to kill you, just a thought. I kinda of want Percy to say he's and go apeshit on the Gods ngl. He apologized for hurting Luke 😭😭😭. Wait, what??? Annabeth!! No!! 😭😭😭 she heard everything, Luke's face, my heart 😭😭😭 I was not ready for all of this emotion
11) Armed escort lol. He doesn't want you dead, he wants you next to him. Very persuasive... sounds manipulative to me.... Mr D! He's funny af. I'm 90% sure it's Peter😂. I don't think so 😂. Kicking them all out, I can't, bro...
12) Annabeth is going to see her dad?!?! Omg her hair looks so cute!! Her talking to Thalia's tree is cute. Her dad is taking her to Disney world 😭😭. Percy telling her to be a kid 😭😭😭 Grover is gonna search for Pan!! Percy is gonna help him search the seas!! (The next one is called sea of monsters right?? Maybe that's the "main quest"???) The hug!!! 😭
13) I hadn't realized it earlier, the beach is Montauk!! Where his mom went missing! It's the beach house they came to. She's here!!!! Look at her!!!! 😭😭 hugging her baby boy 😭😭wait what??? No, Sally!! Where are you?!?! Wait, is that kronos?!?!??!?!?!?!?!? Is he sassying time itself?!?!!?! Bro.... 😭😂😭😂😂 what does he mean?!?!?! What?!?!
14) Sally!!!!!! She's here!!! The fact that he's only just starting 7th grade is wild... he's baby. Percy calling Kronos grandpa, I can't 😂😂. Sally is done with Percy's shit , I can't. "Kronos, Lord of the Titans, said that?" I love her 😂
15) blue pancakes?? They look good af ngl. It's a storm!! Poseidon is also there for Percy's first day of school 🥺. Didn't percy have a step-dad?? The asshole one? What happened to him??
16) oh, there he is. What an asshole. Sally changed the locks 😂. Good for her!! What a dick. Wait.. is that.... is that Medusa??? Omg! Holy shit!! That's hilarious!! 😂😂 good riddance!!!
I have no words. I need a new season now!!! This was by far my new favorite episode!! I love this so much!!! I'm heart broken. I need more!!!

True Detective Night Country started off so great then went nowhere fast. The finale was ridiculous, but that's what I had expected by the time it arrived. Below is a list of things that had me literally rolling my eyes or simply perplexed.
1. The science stuff was ludicrous from the get go. From the totally unrealistic depiction of an arctic research station staffed by a permanent crew of scientists year-round who never leave the station, to the notion that extracting ice cores is somehow a herculean task (it's relatively easy), to the fuzzy, garbled DNA mumbo jumbo, to the idea the mine funded this whole thing just to falsify environmental data (which is usually done by just, you know, making it up or presenting it selectively), not a shred of it made sense. It was stupid, half-baked nonsense. It was never fully explained why their DNA stuff was going to "save the world," or why they'd kill someone over it.
2. In S1, the spiral and hanging things, as well as the "time is a flat circle" stuff made sense as the distortion of a traditional rural folk practice by a deranged cult leader but here it made no sense. Why did Clark make those hanging things? What's the significance of the spiral? Why did he say time is a flat circle etc.? Annie spent time with him in that creepy RV. Was she into that, too, or did he do that after she died?
3. The implication that the spiral and "She" are part of the Native women's belief system.. Is this a thing or did they make it up for the show? "She" is probably meant to be Mother Earth, but this whole spiritual/supernatural part of the story felt cheesy and unoriginal to me.
4. I'm still confused about the frozen scientist who screamed when they found him. There was some comment later about amputating both legs of someone and not being able to speak to him yet, and then that whole issue disappeared. At some point, they might have mentioned in passing this person died? But they never explained how that guy was alive in the first place. There was some brief mention of how the scientists were discovering some kind of life extension superpower in this DNA. I thought it might come round to that but in the end there was no more thought given to the guy who was still magically alive and all they said about the DNA was it could "save the world."
4. Fiona Shaw was criminally underutilized. I loved her character and would love to have seen more of her.
5. Who left the tongue? Was it Peter Prior's dad?
6. How did Holden die? A car crash, but what happened? Where was Liz when it happened?
I liked that they built the story around the issue of missing and murdered indigenous women, and that in the end it turned out the women were the answer all along but no one even thought to ask them. It made the point that Native women are only visible to white law enforcement when they are murdered and even then, don't get the justice they deserve.
Great acting performances and it was a real treat to watch the actors interact. But for me, the emotional impact was blunted by the cheesiness and implausibility of other parts.

Well. There was once a time I would have said it was impossible to waste another well-known actor who's on a show for a year and playing a really interesting character with an implied tragic backstory more than Holby did with Paul McGann as John Gaskell.
I take it back. Congratulations, Casualty has wasted Nigel Harman as Max Cristie more than Holby wasted Paul McGann as John. At least John Gaskell's exit was sad in a well-done-story way and had been built up to. This was sad in an infuriating way and has come out of nowhere.
I don't believe this is in character for Max at all. This is just horrible and cold, him walking out on Jodie again like this. Even if he believes she's better off without him, which is the kindest to Max interpretation of his behaviour I can think of... how can he believe walking out while she's still recovering is what's best for either of them?
Look. Max Cristie is not and never has been a good man. He's a volatile, selfdestructive, emotionally dysregulated mess with anger issues who makes other people's lives worse as well as his because he has a terrible sense of judgement about what he should or shouldn't do. He runs away when things get tough and is frightened of emotional intimacy. He has also been a terrible dad to Jodie.
But he was trying to get somewhere with her and cared about her in some sort of messed-up repressed way. Maybe not enough, maybe not the way he should have done, but in some way. And I don't believe he could have done this if he cared about Jodie in any way.
As I say, Max running away when things get hard is something we've seen in him before. More metaphorically than Henrik - who I always think to compare him to because I think they're very alike in personality - perhaps, and more metaphorically than he did tonight, but it's not unheard of. But this was just terribly handled.
This would have been cold and hard to believe coming from Henrik. From Max, it makes no sense at all.
It might've done something if we'd heard anything about him wanting to work elsewhere before. Even a few lines, from Dylan maybe - "Max, you never could settle down for long" or something like that - would have done a lot to establish that he can't be expected to stay. Similarly, maybe if Max's backstory had been explained at any point - instead of vague implications of some sort of traumatic or difficult past that are never explained - this might be more believable. It's not forgivable, but it could have been written in such a way as to be understandable. As it is? I can't even say it's that.
I mean, seriously, Max gets three scenes in his last ep? Three scenes and that's it? All because about 90% of the time was going to Faith and Iain drama that I do not care about. Argh. I already felt unwell with a headache today, I didn't need this too.
There's definitely not going to be any aftermath for Jodie either, is there? She should be devastated by this, realistically. She should really struggle to trust others after this. But I don't think any of that will happen. We'll be lucky if we get one scene of her saying she's sad about it after this week.
The Faith and Iain stuff just really upsets me. The way Faith behaves towards and about Natalia is awful to see and I'm tired of the show pretending Faith isn't abusive. And now Iain's being awful too. Natalia is a grown woman - a young one, yes, but a grown woman nonetheless (she's, what, 19-ish? 18 at the youngest) - and yet they talk down to her and patronise her constantly. She's struggling, and they're just seeing her as a "problem" to put up with. I can't stand it. Obviously her behaviour towards Iain was also out of line, but it's understandable why she's misreading him and I don't think the way he's reacting will do anything good for her. Though tbf he did already try to let her down gently, I suppose. Also, I relate to Nat a lot so I can't be 100% sure I'm coherent on this. I might be projecting too much.
It was nice for Jacob to get screentime, but he can't bond with Siobhan soon enough - I'm tired of him being Iain's life advice counsellor.
There were some great patient storylines tonight. It was nice to see Dylan in Dylan Disability Advocacy Keogh mode again, and I thought the story with Charlie's patients was handled very sensitively.
I'm so glad Charlie apologised to Stevie. She deserved it, and it was a lovely scene. For once, I agree with Charlie - Stevie is great and I hope to see her back soon.
Next week, we get Zoe Hanna back! Yay!

tv series the wilds!!!!!!
THE WILDS. tysm <3 going 2 answer primarily pertaining to the girls and s1 btw
Favorite character: FATIN. huge huge divergence for me she is not the kind of character i usually fall in love with at all especially when toni is right there and perpetually seething w rage. but toni and leah tie for second place bc fatin is a walking contradiction with a superiority complex and uncomfortably complicated relationship with her dad and unfortunately it does mean i can never stop thinking about her. shes also the highlight of s2 for me. incredible for me to latch on to a normalgirl but the second fatin is in the presence of someone she actually loves the dynamic is insaneee and i live for it. also her character arc is so fine tuned and well-done it IS a bait-and-switch there are so many layers to peel back when it comes to fatin. love is real
Funniest character: dot. she Gets it
Best-looking character: sorry i know i said i wasn't bringing up the boys but the last time i watched it it was raf. gretchen obviously. also the actor who plays martha.....hand in marriage pls
3 favorite ships: i don't necessarily ship all of these (only the first) im just an enjoyer and an Understander foremost. anyway leah/fatin obviously first place who is doing it like them. girls who make each other worse who have to swallow teeth to love each other who are island4sea. if you even care. anyway second place dot/fatin third place raf/seth. when you're stranded on an island and you've always had to take comfort in solitude but you hate yourself and the one person you felt a kinship with is gone and there is an attractive boy who acts like you bring out a different side of him than the others do. and he also totally has a girlfriend. im just saying what happens isn't nothing and also coincidentally s2 is a story of seduction. to some extent. i'm not going to get into all my thoughts on leah and raf as audience proxies and the implications and the subversions but. BOY do i have so many.
Least favorite character: JEFF. i would like to kill him with hammers please <3 i love all the girls so if we're only sticking to s1 to a much lesser extent i dislike gretchen's annoying assistant. idk why they kept panning to him i could not care less about what he had to say lol. 90% of the boys mean an equal amount of nothing to me but out of them. kirin. sorry.
Least favorite ship: toni/shelby.blasphemy i know and it is primarily bc of how ppl act like they're the pinnacle of teen love or w/e but look sometimes you have a thing with a girl on an island and then you're flown out. sorry. i like their relationship for what it was and the trajectory we did get to see like i understand it. but i don't care lol
Reason why I watch it: good show. GREAT tv. leah rilke
Why I started watching it: i can't remember unfortunately. probably saw it on my dash one (1) time during the era of watching nothing but shows about teen girls lol i am SO glad i did.

Hi! I'm back to offer for to the Double Training au :D
I kinda have the start of a timeline figured out.
The twins would meet Mei (and MK though briefly) during "Duplicatnation", both glamoured to look human cause they were actually just having a nice day out and just happened to also be trapped in Porty!Clone's insanity. They probably found Mei hiding in a corner somewhere and decided to stick by her since she seemed to have stronger magic then everyone else here.
They clicked pretty well after that, but while avoiding Porty!Clone and trying to find a way out, Mei's clear exhaustion is clearly settling in fast so Jin might've used the calabash on the clone while Mei wasn't watching.
Mei: *squinting* Where did MK go?
Jin: *Sweating profusely* uuuh Who's MK?
Yin: He went home?
MK: *Just arriving* MEI I AM SO SORRY- …uh where's the clone?
Jin and Yin maybe good actors but for some reason they are horrible liars. Mei was too out of it to actually prove they did anything though. She did however realized she never asked for their names, and the twins not knowing how humans name their children just said pineapple, like both at the same time.
MK: Thanks for helping my friend out, I'm MK! What are your names? :D
Yin & Jin panicking due to not having thought about it: ……PINEAPPLE
Mei: Pine…
MK:…apple?
Yin nodding like that made perfect sense: yup yup Pine and Apple that's us
Mei:……okay, so who's Pine and who's Apple?
Jin: HAHA You know what? it's getting late! We wouldn't want to worry our dad. *grabs Yin and books it*
Mei and MK still aren't sure who is who and to be honest neither does the twins who 100% haven't interacted with anyone their age aside from Red and it shows
The calabash gets confiscated for a few days by Macaque cause "My 1 rule for letting you two have a day out alone was to lay low, being with in 5 meters of the monkey king's successor is not laying low! What if he found out you two were demons? What if he saw my claim on you two? WHAT IF HE TOLD THE MONKEY KING??? Getting mixed up in their mistakes was one thing, meeting them is a whole other, speaking of which sit your butts down you're not leaving this room until I've checked you over."
Mac might be a bit paranoid but to be fair he just wants to live a quiet life (as quiet as it can get with the twins haha) but the whole resurgence of demon activity, spottings of Monkey King and the shenanigans of the new successor is greatly messing with those plans.
Added features of the calabash, there's a button hidden among the engravings on the calabash. When held down it basically activates the call and response thing from the original calabash where you get sucked in if you respond to your name being called. It's a button to make it toggle-able.
It was originally a prank on Mac (cause what was he gonna do? Not respond to his children??) to annoy him but the feature just never got removed, how fun :)
-💙
(Drawing was sent with another ask)
Tumblr media
I like that the implication is that the twins saw Mei, thought she was cool, and decided to stick by her side
But why do I love the Pine and Apple names so much!? It’s such a silly thing but it fits them so well! Yin and Yue Shi doing the spiderman pointing meme because of the nickname Apple
Macaque has gone into protective mama hen mode. He does have a good reason tho, MK fight every demon that he encounters, and Macaque and Wukong didn’t leave on the best of terms.
That feature sure does sound fun... and dangerous

Your SaL anon answer really hits home on why this parental forgiveness arc don't hit hard in 911. The show emphasizes found family aspect of the core members. What they did to Buck and Chimney's parent is one of the most obviously wrong path the show take, even more so about Chimney becaue it came out of nowhere, it's resolved unsatisfyingly, and likely no followup to the damn thing. I suspect they start the redemption arc from Hen and Eddie to ease things up for the hordes of those this season and I don't like the implication. I'm tired already. If Kriten still holds the steer for next season the show is as good as over for me.
Nonnie, I'm so sorry I didn't get to this until a week later, but thank you! Pretty sure this is about this ask, and honestly I'm still pissed and reeling from 4x14 cutting Eddie out of his own arc and cutting the firefam being there for him and for Buck so it could waste all that screentime pushing the BT relationship setup, and things have only gone downhill from there wrt the found family of the show, culminating in that mess of contradictions in 6x11. And yeah, Chim got one other short scene about his dad and that's it and we didn't even get him following Hen's advice about acknowledging that his feelings MATTER and that in order to let the hurt go he has to speak out that it exists. IDK why Kristen seems to not care for Chim as a character (or like, anyone really at this point besides her weird obsession with Buck and turning him into her little drama puppet), because Kenny is just, so so so SO good! He's SOOOO funny, but he can yank heartstrings with the best of them. As much as I'm rolling my eyes at this proposal set up, I AM happy to be getting more Chim and I'm hoping it won't all just be comic relief. Also the BTS hits that we are getting injured Chim are *delicious* and i'm excited for that but for the love of all that is holy I NEED the show to STOP pushing this unearned redemption for everyone and go back to focusing on the 118 as FAMILY that leans on each other.
As much a I don't think it WILL happen (not with the network seeming ready to pour it's money into a different rescue franchise and leave 911 out to dry and run itself into the ground) I am never going to stop manifesting that Kristen gets removed from the showrunner position. Literally everyone, actors, audience, and characters, deserve so much better than what she's doing to the show.

Animaniacs Reboot Season 3 Episode 3 Review
Again I’ll mention I’m only rewatching the Warners because I don’t fully know P&TB. (This took so long I’m sorry I was busy.)
Variable Verse: Fair pay for trainees! -Dot
Planet Warner
The announcer sounds like Winnie The Pooh. Same voice actor? Reminds me of Nighty Night Toons.
They’re asleep on stage. Long nights. Also is that the girl from the P&TB short in season one? The one where Brain said “hell?” I don’t remember.
How come they’re not in bed? Also I had to look up adolescent because I thought it was teenager. It’s 10-19.
Tumblr media
I love the fact that all their jumping animations are different! Cannonball, jump, and twirl.
I get the feeling that this short is a retelling of what actually happened? Lol maybe they did the character from a hat just for this episode.
You know I just thought of something. Back when new cartoons were drawn on paper, toons leapt from it. Can…can they still do that from the computer? Or are they trapped until let out? …oh god.
Boingy boingy boingy! Ralph’s eyes were red the whole time. Yikes. Hello? Yakko’s the most frail member? Damn. So many implications.
Tumblr media
The cave reference! Looney Tunes melody too! Meep meep!
Aquaclaus sequels reference Rocky sequels?
Tumblr media
Why do some of these remind me of existing characters? Like the bottom left looks like Lola.
The snaps her assistants do. Lol I forgot where that’s from.
See I feel bad when the character isn’t even allowed on the bus. But it’s showing the harsh reality of life of being rejected. Especially in entertainment.
Dang that’s a lot of tamales. Wakko’s literally just eating the wrappers.
Fourth wall break. Not as annoying as usual. They’re definitely projecting. Yeah watch ALL the characters.
Tumblr media
The earth is pretty!
I do love this short. Not only do we see the Warners act like themselves more than usual, but it’s educational! It shows how production and pitching an idea in the entertainment industry works. And it doesn’t shy away from reality either - ideas don’t work so they get thrown out. I like the contrast on how the Warners are successful and live comfortably and the new toon is the opposite. I do feel bad for him, though.
Wakko’s the main character here. Finally. He’s the most underused. The animations they did throughout were nice.
I did notice the segments sometimes are more about the background characters more than the established characters. I know it’s easier on a blank slate, but it’s still the Warners show. This segment was fine; I was just mentioning it because it’s been a problem before.
Talladega Mice
D’awww. Cute baby Brain. The references throughout were nice. Cool how they used Orson Welles. Pinky whats with the finger? Why does the balloon sword looks like something else? The other mouse! Oh my god.
I feel like they should’ve done something with Fort Knox. Or at least mentioned it at the end. They have a habit of repeating episodes from the OG. They’re aware of it, too. New ones would be nice, please.
DI Why
So you’re telling me they’re gonna frame the poster with Wakko’s [redacted] showing? Also I forgot about the adult jokes until I heard it. It caught me off guard.
I thought they were gonna go ham with the worker but I guess not. I like Yakko’s line. Don’t flick his nose.
What’s the song the workers sing referencing?
Tumblr media
Ah, he was gonna say belly. You notice how they’re drawn with their hands in front of them? Usually in a begging motion?
Don’t you pun Yakko. Dot noticed. Kinda wish they didn’t scoff at them. They did it all the time and were fine with it.
Yakko’s the boomer dad. Or millennial.
I like how both brothers were happy when a song was gonna begin.
Song!!!
How come Dot’s the only one in a cute outfit??? Tragedy.
Tumblr media
I actually really like this picture. Wakko stole all those pots and then just smashed them. Lol.That lamp with the leg is an old reference.
Did Wakko just say rehab? What rehab?

This is cute.
Wakko’s head shakes saying “philosophy” while his sibs mouths just vibrate. Cute.
Okay. I love it. Very catchy. They all got a chance to shine. It’s just a nice and sweet song with no bad jokes. Beautiful. Wakko’s voice is the best oh my god.
I like how they all smile when they’re in the water.
Bro Dot got double smacked. Her poor frame broke, too.
Can’t see the Warners doing that to the fans? I honestly don’t remember their relationship with fans besides running away. But it was fine. P&TB cameo.
Again I feel like if there was no story or buildup and just the song it would be fine. Or better. There doesn’t need an explanation for everything.
Planet Warner - 9
Talladega Mice - 8
DI Why - 9
Avg - 8.7
So far this is my favorite episode with rewatchability for me. (Well, for the Warners.) Heck yes.

honestly why not make the sharmas a british indian impoverished gentry family living in somerset? there's clearly other south asians in england and the ton, the show could still show their culture and customs, but the voyage from india alone brings up a few issues. idk maybe kate had some suitors in somerset? but the timing was bad and she turned them down because her father just died, mary was still grieving, and edwina was like 10. since women were expected to leave their families to join their husbands, maybe none of her suitors had the money/accommodations/willingness to take her mother and sister in, so she chose to stay and take care of them instead. she becomes frustrated with these men and the idea of marriage, dashing her previous romantic notions of love matches like her parents or her dad and mary. being a naive 18 yo suddenly in charge of managing the household she didn't make the best financial decisions at first which made things worse, then asked the sheffields for help not realizing the extent of the situation with mary and her father (because she was so young when mary and her dad married, and they sheltered her from the harsher stuff the way she does with edwina now). now make it so that mary was absent in the first years but stepped up later (and show it!) and feels guilty so she's the one who asks lady danbury for help. kate actually tells mary about edwina's dowry thinking it was a good idea until mary fully explains what happened with the sheffields years ago and now she feels guilty. they get a proper mother-daughter character arc addressing their shortcomings and guilt. edwina becomes more aware of their financial situation and picks anthony (the rich titled suitor who cares about family so yay maybe he'll help them all?) because she (misguidedly ofc) feel like a burden and wants to repay the sacrfices kate and mary have made - edwina and kate both have proper character arcs revolving around duty to family for women in the era, which also serves to parallel anthony's arc about duty for a man. now there's a cohesive theme about duty vs desire for the season through multiple characters. and actual commentary building on s1 on marriage being how women survived in the era due to the lack of other options (edwina is not a golddigger 🙄 and kate's deal with the sheffields for edwina to marry a man of english peerage is a pretty typical goal for the women of the ton? the bigger issue is that they're terrible people whose love for family is conditional)
idk this is just me rewriting the sharmas in the show, trying to give them a proper backstory and spitballing ideas for character development, combining parts of the book and show, ofc it's not near perfect. i'm just coming up with possible alternatives to make sense of what the show was trying for but missed by a mile because of messy writing 😬 also me caring more about the female characters and women's relationships with each other more than these writers do 🔪
bridgerton is really lucky for the actors, they really sell their characters and work with what they're given, but even the best can only do so much with garbage writing holding them back
Yeah, I agree. They should have just come from Somerset. In s1, I think one of Daphne's suitors in the ton was played by a British Indian actor and had an English name as well (I think it was Lord Hardy). Then there was Lucy Granville, who had an English name. The changes to Sharma's backstory and Bridgeton's whole colour-conscious casting bring up many uncomfortable colonial implications. I cringe any time someone suggests Anthony visit India. Dorset was bad enough. We are just lucky he didn't mention yoga or anything about having a spiritual awakening when visiting India. Not to mention we all know what English aristocrats were up to when they visited India. Hopefully, next season the show and Anthony will stay far away from the topic of India.
Yeah, the season would have benefitted by having a theme related to all their subplots. I think it felt like there were more subplots than s1 because they didn't relate to the main plot. The subplots like the Ponzi scheme, Prudence, LW, Eloise and Theo, and Queen were all intertwined. Whereas the love story was completely separate from everything else that was going on. I also wish that Sharma's story arc explored women's lack of options and how vulnerable they were without a male relative/guardian. Making Kate's role align with Anthony was dumb. The books and the show seem to take the stance that wanting to marry for love = good debutante and marrying for money = bad debutante. And a lot of fandom seems to have internalised this, which is unfortunate. Honestly, I think it would have been fun seeing the Sharma's scheming to bag a rich man.
I think a large part of this S2's success is because audiences are desperate for romances with two good actors and great chemistry to match, which Jonathon Bailey and Simone Ashley delivered.

This thing with the officer doesn't sit right with me. You can't say you don't like the karen situation and turn around and ship him with another adult
The difference was that that actually happened in canon. That’s why I think it’s fucked up. If Karen and Billy was something that never happened in canon and it was just a fun little crackship that people played around with after season 3 where Billy was 18, I probably wouldn’t care.
That and Karen was thinking of Billy sexually when he was still a minor, 17 yrs old in fact. Then she continued to purse him after he turned 18. That’s what rubs me wrong about the Karen and Billy situation. Because it was multiple gross canon interactions that kind of placed the blame on Billy for an older married woman with a whole ass family and daughter his age pursing him sexually. Not romantically (even if she was romanticising where the relationship could go), she very much intended to sleep with him and probably continue to do so while being married.
The Callahan and Billy shit? That’s me fucking around with two characters making my Ken dolls kiss because I’m a barely 20-something who’s attracted to much older men. It’s not canon. There was no implication of prior attraction to Billy when he was a minor. Karen’s behaviour was a minor case of grooming. Waiting around for the sexy underage guy to become legal and then openly thirst for him with other women her age at his workplace.
If Neil did that to Nancy? Expressed attraction to her when she was 17 and then essentially waited til she was 18 to hang around her job at the news agency? That would be fucking weird.
If an older man expressed open attraction to 18yr old Nancy and she reciprocated, I’d be a bit iffy but overall, I wouldn’t consider it my business as long as he had good intentions.
Karen’s intentions weren’t good; they were selfish because she couldn’t just talk to her husband and tell him point blank that she was unhappy with their marriage and he needed to buck up or fuck off. Ted wasn’t abusive, or even that big of an asshole, so it’s not like he would have hit her for bringing up her own feelings. At most he would have dismissed them and that’s when she’d need to put her foot down if she cared about her marriage, her family (she deserves to be someone outside of that, but that didn’t mean she had to pursue Billy and not some other hot guy around the town).
Ted was just a suburban dad who worked, payed the bills and came home. He obviously cared for his kids to some extent because what stops Karen from walking out is seeing him with Holly, cuddling on his armchair.
Karen was in the wrong for pursuing a kid who went to school with her daughter.
Me writing some shameless Older x Younger prompt about Callahan (who from our knowledge has no wife, kids, bad intentions, etc) and Billy when Billy is 18 is a whole different ball park.
You don’t have to like it. You don’t have to read it. You don’t have to agree with me either. You can consider both in the same circle of ‘bad things’. But that’s my opinion on the matter. There was no canon implication of grooming/predatory behaviour towards a minor with Phil.
Also, personally I feel like Callahan is between 28-32 in S4 (he gives young cop vibes), so the age gap isn’t so significant either; Karen and Billy is 22 yrs, Phil and Billy would be about 10-14. The number of years doesn’t always matter but I thought I’d add that just in case.
Edit: Phil’s actor is actually 31, so Callahan is likely actually 26-30 in S4 if we’re rocking with those numbers

What would happen if Sayu crew died in the FRAU?
Depends on who dies, how many, and stuff like that.
Talks about suicide and like some mention/implications of physical abuse from family.
If they all die (some kind of accident where they were all together) then NSR would take over the behind the scenes of Sayu and keep her running until it wasn't lucrative anymore and slowly ween her out of the public eye. Then a new charter would be put in place.
In this scenario, Tila's family probably tries to milk their daughters death (probably happens in most scenarios honestly), Sofa and Dodo's families are actually sad (probably don't realize how terrible they were to their kids but they still mourn the loss of them), and Remi's family probably is the same as Sofa and Dodo except maybe this is a wake-up call for Eve and she kinda snaps out of her own self hatred for a bit (she doesn't care for her dad or his wife's pain, but now she at least has some kind of connection with them from a shared emotion).
If only one survives, doesn't matter who, but Sayu would be given to NSR with only some input from the survivor based on their talent. Tila would continue to be the voice of Sayu, Sofa would be the lead editor to keep the Sayu feel of videos the same, and Remi would still be the main artist behind Sayu. The only one I can see not even wanting to continue with Sayu would be Dodo if he was the only survivor, and it's easy enough to just get a new mo-cap person behind the scenes, so if Dodo is the only one alive then Sayu officially belongs entirely to NSR and he just goes to living with his parents and trying to restart his life over.
Then there's the possibility that only 2 survive and 2 die. I'm not gonna go into each combination, but most likely the 2 that survive stay and continue working on Sayu. As a way to cope, keep their friends memories alive, and to just escape reality some more, trying to hide from the pain they feel. NSR would find some people to fill in the roles of whoever ended up dying (so like a new artist and editor if Remi and Sofa died, or voice actor and mo-cap person if Tila and Dodo died).
All the deaths up to this point were accidents that caused 2 or more of the Sayu Crew to die. However, if only one of them die, it would be a different story.
Sofa dying would probably be an allergic reaction and not having their epipen on them. In that case I can kinda see Sayu almost falling apart since Sofa is one of the most important members of the team and the Crew would probably not want to immediately replace Sofa, only for them to realize they have no idea what the fuck they are doing and have to have Tatiana assign them a new editor.
Dodo's death is probably some kind of accident. Maybe a medical one because his parents want him to get another non-mandatory surgery for whatever reason (thinking it would help him in life) and he ends up dying from complications. I can see Tila taking over Dodo's position while also being the voice actor (a lot of people probably even see improvement with Sayu's movement and voice acting, making people praise the change in direction which makes the crew feel horrible, especially Tila).
Remi's death is... idk. At first I was gonna say his dad or mom might have done something to him, but honestly I want to move away from that storyline with Remi. He still feels like he can't come out because his parents aren't very supportive, but I'm seeing them now as more neglectful than abusive like I initially made them. So anyway, I can probably see Remi trying to run away from home, trying to find a place to be accepted but can't go to the rest of the Crew as their fams would probably make him go back to his family (Sofa's family probably would have taken Remi in). So Remi ends up getting hurt in the street or something and ends up passing away.
At that point I doubt Remi would have been working with the Crew for a bit, only letting them know he ran away and wouldn't be coming back. So Sayu at that point has been using premade art that Remi made before leaving but once his death was announced then the Crew were given a new artist (someone who could copy Remi's style pretty well so fans weren't hit with another dramatic shift in style). The Crew takes it hard and I can see Eve probably taking it hard too since Remi would have left a note saying why he ran away with not having support from family, especially Eve, as some of the main reasons for his departure. So this would be another way that might make Eve snap out of her pretty selfish mindset and try to think about her actions she had towards Remi all his life.
For Tila, I see her as either dying by her family's abuse or killing herself as the main ways she dies. Either way is a tragedy and no one knows "why" it happened since the family would have did their best to cover both ways up. Honestly if Tila is murdered they would make it look like a suicide, and if she killed herself then the family would hide any note or whatever she would have tried to leave behind. The public would just be given a story of how Tila killed herself because of her schizophrenia or something like that to make people unsympathetic to her (yes, her family is not above weaponizing their daughter's mental illness).
Tatiana probably thinks something more happened, but she doesn't go prying because the public and police believe the families story so there's no real reason to doubt the claims in possibly make NSR look like they are harassing a grieving family. She just gets a new voice actor for Sayu as quickly as possible (though honestly I think in this scenario the rest of the Crew would be willing to just give NSR all the rights to Sayu and quit because of what happened to Tila).
So yeah, that's basically what happened. I didn't really go into any other characters' reactions because they'd all basically be the same. Mama is sad for the death of all/some/one of the Crew, Yinu has very conflicted emotions, Neon J is devastated (probably the only one who tries to get any justice for the more shady deaths of the Crew), 1010 doesn't care because they are too worried about themselves now that possibly Sayu is going to be decomissioned (depending on who died), Eve is mainly neutral except with some of Remi's deaths but even then she is still pretty numb, Tatiana sees their loss as an awful tragedy but still has to continue looking to the future and having to either continue Sayu or get a new charter, and DJSS is probably really upset (especially in Sofa's death scenarios) since he was kinda close with some of the Crew before being fired.
I don't know, this is the best you're gonna be getting I guess. I'm kinda getting tired of talking about what would happen if a character dies and how people would react. Most of the answers are just gonna be the same. NSR tries to continue the charter (in Sayu and 1010's case) or just gets a new charter entirely. None of the cast are really close in this AU so a death of a co-worker (or even family in Eve's case) isn't really going to change how people feel, just make them a little sad for a bit before moving on with life.

As much as I love binge-watching television, it's kinda fun speculating each week about what the hell is happening on WandaVision, a show that's made the brave choice to keep so much unexplained for so long. So, let me speculate:
Evan Peters is playing Peter Maximoff from the X-Men universe and not someone else in disguise.
Here's why:
Wanda has to use real people to populate her daydream If Wanda could make everything up from scratch, she wouldn't have to take a whole town hostage. She needs real people and real matter to fuel her daydream. Sparky's death showed that Wanda can't bring organic beings back from the dead, so that makes it impossible to resurrect Aaron Tayler-Johnson as Pietro. Instead, the next best thing is another speedster that could pass for Pietro, which is how Peter got plucked out of the X-Men universe. By whom? Either unconsciously by Wanda or on purpose by whoever is the secret villain of the show. Peter's real memories were blocked and new ones were implanted. I'd bet he only remembers events where Wanda was present because her magic is powering everything even if she's not totally in control. Some of her other memories might have bled through during the process, which would explain why this Pietro is somewhat aware of what's actually going on. Or X-Men Peter might be having fun with the whole thing and doesn't need as much of a shove as everyone else! He seems like a guy who would try anything once.
Out of character for the MCU, but in character for the X-Men universe Some people think Pietro is sus because he's acting out of character, but that's only true if you're comparing him to the MCU's Quicksilver. He's acting perfectly in character for Peter from the X-Men films, a twenty-something "man child" still living in his mom's basement who enjoys playing video games when he's not stealing things and pranking people like Wanda's Pietro does with his Halloween antics. X-Men Peter is also morally flexible, filling his basement with stolen TV's and Twinkies and breaking Magneto out of prison just for kicks. That's why he's not overly perturbed that Wanda is mind controlling a bunch of people. Peter's done crimes himself, and his dad is a super villain who tried to kill the president, so if he has a sister who's mind controlling a town, it just makes her fit into the family.
This place is insane, of course he has questions! Some people think Pietro was asking way too many questions, but anyone dropped into this weirdo town would have questions. The people in S.W.O.R.D. have nothing but questions! If he were the main villain in disguise, he wouldn't need to ask any questions because he'd already know how Wanda was doing things. People also thought it was suspect that Peter responded to most of Wanda's questions with questions of his own, but that was probably the writers' way of including exposition about the missing kids and what was up with Wanda's accent. We don't know if the villain can disguise themselves as someone else anyway, and if he could, wouldn't he just use the Aaron Taylor-Johnson version as his illusion? Why choose some guy no one in town recognizes?
This casting choice feels like more than just fan service I don't think Marvel would go to the trouble of casting Evan Peters in this role unless he really is the Quicksilver from the X-Men universe. Marvel has served up some good fan service over the years, but typically only when it makes sense for the story or it's been earned. I don't see any reason to use Evan Peters unless it's really X-Men Peter. If it's not him, it would be simpler to use a random person in town to play Pietro and pay the actor less. If it really is X-Men Peter, this development cracks open the multi-verse which we known is going to be explored in the next Dr. Strange movie and the next Spider-man film.
Ok, but who sent him? Probably the secret villain who is behind all this. (My money's on Nightmare.) Peter first appears when Vision is questioning Wanda about the nature of their reality. Quite a convenient way of derailing that conversation! Another theory is that Dr. Strange sent him as some sort of mole, but I don't think Pietro would have appeared when he did if that were the case. His distraction was too well timed to shut down Vision's line of questioning.
But isn't he too old to be X-Men Quicksilver? Ok, I admit, this is sort of a problem. The X-Men version of Peter was born in the 50's and the MCU is taking place slightly in the future because of the Blip. That means Peter would be well into his 60's. Does he not age at a normal rate? Are the universes slightly out of sync so the 80's are taking place in the X-Men universe at the same time the 20's are taking place in the MCU? Or did he get snatched out of time as well as location?
What's with the necklace? Pietro has been wearing the same necklace whenever he's on screen, even when it didn't match his Halloween outfit. It's like Agnes's brooch—something almost always worn, no matter the era. It might be a transformed version of his goggles or the headphones he always carries. Or perhaps it gives some sort of magical protection which allows him to realize this world is being run by Wanda? Not sure. If this ends up not being Peter, it could be something associated with whoever he really is.
If it is Peter, how will this end? It seems certain the hex has to end at some point. If Peter is still around at that time, he will be restored to his normal self, probably wearing a silver leather jacket over a t-shirt featuring a band's logo. (Twenty-One Pilots? Fall Out Boy? What modern band do you think Peter would dig?)
Most importantly, he will have created a true emotional bond with Wanda. Their relationship started out as fake, but they've spent real time together and she's opened up to him about how alone and empty she's felt, allowing herself to be vulnerable in a way she rarely has with anyone else. He also clearly loved being Uncle P, goofing around with her kids. (Please let the kids live! If they vanish with the hex, it will be heartbreaking.) Peter could be a true connection that helps bring her back to the world, particularly if he ends up retaining all the memories of Pietro and Wanda’s childhood. I don't think this is the end of their relationship. Honestly, Peter might end up thanking Wanda for all the fun he's had and ask if they can do Knight Rider or The A-Team next time. So, I see three options here:
Option 1) Peter hangs around for a bit because he's stranded in this universe and needs Wanda's help to send him back. Maybe Dr. Strange helps them with that in the next movie.
Option 2) He is able to return to his universe and invites Wanda back with him so she can avoid prison and start a new life. I mean, this woman is definitely facing charges, right? She may not have started this insanity, but she went along with it when she could have stopped it. At this point, she's the Patty Hearst of mind rape. She's either going on the run or spending a lot of time in prison or in a mental hospital.
Option 3) Peter gets expelled from this universe either by Wanda or the secret villain or someone else and never gets a chance to explain anything. This would be the least satisfying conclusion, but it's possible.
I guess we'll see what happens! I will be utterly devastated if this isn't Peter from the X-Men universe because I love all the implications of that. I'd also love to see more of Evan Peters in the MCU.

WILLIAM REMAKES RANKING
And here is a new post about my characters remakes ranking ^^
other rankings I made :
the Eva remakes
the Jonas remakes
the Noora remakes
the Isak remakes
the Even remakes
the Sana remakes
Now William is a complicated case. I hate this guy's gutts, he was the worst thing to happen to Skam, especially when Julie decided he was the Best Character Ever and that him and Noora formed the Most Iconic Couple Ever even after admitting IN THE SHOW how bland and fucking cliche he was. However, the remakes (well most of them) actually seemed to understand that was bullshit and improved his character (or at least tried to), but without changing his actions, so the result always made me perplex as to where I stood with their version of William.
As always, this is my opinion only, not a diss at anyone who does not feel the same. Feel free to discuss respectfully in the comments if you read this ^^
(I did not watch Skam Italia, which is the reason why Edoardo -I think that's his name?- is not in the list)
1- Senne (WTFock)
This is the only William I can say with confidence that I truly like and always love to see more off. Which could be weird, considering how awfull he was in season 1. His "you're not even my top ten" to Amber, and "you're so sexy" instead of the normally "you're so beautiful" to Noora definitely made me think he would become my least favorite William Remake. However, they still managed to improve him in the same season! For example, letting Zoe the choice to give him a call or not if she changed her mind about going on a date with him (yes I know he said it in a very confident implication that she WOULD change her mind but it was still a lot less pushy than this scene normally is). Even in season two, his blackmail to make her go on a date with him put a lot less pressure on Zoe, like she is the one who suggests it and he does not except anything from her, agreeing with it being "just a meeting". BUT the major and best change they did with him is when he apologized to Amber after his conversation with Zoe, without expecting anything in return, it coming from a place of truly wanting to change and improve (thus actually aknowledging that what he did was wrong) instead of just thinking that being decent makes him "earn" a girl. Honestly it always bugged me that the og did not do that because it was like the perfect opportunity to show there was more to his character and that he could have a redemption (not that William have any lol). And then, there was a lot of little things that just made him more human, endearing and likeable. His banter with Zoe felt more real and did a good job at showing they really did get along, the actor was very talented at portraying his emotions, and I felt so much for him when it comes to his brother and his family situation in general. I also love how supportive he was of Zoe when it came to his brother, even if it ended becoming too much in season 3 (like the dude was literally ready to fucking STAB the asshole get me a man like that). His whole relationship with Zoe felt a lot more real and cute actually, because they both had flaws and he knew that and did not put her on a pedestrial (like a lot of men charcater do in this trope), and even though they could fight he was still very endeared with her said flaws lol. ALSO he actually asked for consent for their first time instead of saying "I know I should ask if you're okay with it but I don't care" to his girlfirend who has just been sexually assaulted and who just confided in him her past trauma regarding sex (yes I know the bar is very low but still). He ended up having a lot more dephth and, I would not say this about any other William lbc, but it was very cool to also have him as a sort of awkward step dad to Robbe in season 3, kind of oblivious and always lost with a coffee in his hand, but being a real support and having a real good heart. Also his relationship with Milan is so adorable and beautiful too, I love how different they are and yet how much they love eachother, how they started to bond because they both care a lot about Zoe, how Senne is always very happy to be physically affectionate with him or to play along with his gay jokes, which actually shows that he is not the cliche popular jock... Really amazing!
One thing I really do not understand the writers did tho : when he wrote the thesis for Zoe. Like this moment in the og was supposed to show that he actually listens to her and that he cares about other people, the thesis being about something she did believe in and fought for, and the "people need people" even came from there, which makes a full circle when she tells him that to make him stay. But there she had to defend an idea she did NOT agree with, that women should not be able to work I think, so it just made him write something sexist and mysoginistic??? What was supposed to be the point of that, to show that Zoe was "too" feminist and that his views would help her "calm down"? Because if that's it that's really gross (don't get me wrong, there are extrem feminists I definitely don't want to be associated with, but Zoe is far from being like them). I don't know, it's just a thing I still can't wrap my mind around...
2- Noah (Skam nl)
Okay so this is the start of me not really being sure as how to feel with the characters.
I always thought that was the writers did with Noah was very weird, it was like they were not sure what they wanted to do with him. Like this dude is supposed to be this weirdo hyppy artsy guy who does not really have a clue about social interactions BUT ALSO the popular fuckboy??? In highschool???? Maybe it's because I haven't been in highschool i a while but unfortunately I really don't think those two things go together...And like he's supposed to be socially clueless but also have no problem rejecting Engel like he did? Wouldn't have make more sense for him to accidentaly hurt her without realizing simply because he just does not know how to deal with this kind of situations? I don't know, his character was just very weird to me, which made his characterisation really inconsistent and all over the place. And i felt like we were supposed to forget everything bad thing he did simply because he was an artsy weirdo. Season 2 was such a mess and his scenes were so rushed that it did not help to clear things up... I don't even think him and Liv fit well together tbh (but not because I hate him so there is that) and the wedding dress scene was such nonsense, unrealistic, and a real mess. Not even talking about how he kind of victim blamed Liv about what his brother did to her when he says "well I did warn you about him"...
BUT he's not in second place for nothing. He is actually the first (and only) William that made me want to watch season 2, which had never happened to me before even when I love the Noora because I hate the Willhelm plotline with a passion (and if you saw the Noora ranking you'd know that Liv is my fave), so I think he deserves to be hyped for just that. His weirdo vibes really intrigued me and even made me like him, and I like how it was more dwell upon in season 2, that it actually gave him more dephth, altho not as much as I would have liked. He also kind of reminded me of Even with how artsy and always being between very awkward and insecure and very confident at the same time he could be, and since Even is my favorite character of Skam, it could only make me like him more. It was a good way to not make him the bland and cliche fuckboy jock William is. So props to Skam nl for making such big chnages with him, it could only be an improvement with this character.
3- Alexander (Druck)
I really like how this guy really defied toxic mascunality, especially when we know the kind of character he was based on. The one thing that hit me the most was when he had a panic attack, like that's not something we get to see often for men characters, especially this kind, and with Mia taking care of him instead of the reverse (which happens in the other remakes)...I just really loved it. I also loved how goofy and dorky he was, but sometimes it felt a bit too much and forced it was like the writers came through the screen to shake me super hard while yelling "SEE??? SEE HOW LIKEABLE AND WEIRD HE IS???? ISNT HE SO FUNNY????? LAUGH!!! LAAAAUUUUGH!!!!!". So yeah it did not always work for me but it was still enjoyable. Plus, I really admired how he accepted Mia's breaking up with him with such grace and understanding in season 4, even though he was ready to give up everything to go with her to Spain just the day before, I don't even know if I would be able to do that lol, but that really shows how much he loves, and most importantly respects, her. Honestly I almost put him in second place, but I don't remember enough of him (in fact he is probably the William I forgot the most about) so I was not sure if he deserved it and well i guess it also meant he did not have so much impact on me...
4- Alejandro (Skam Espana)
So first of all : Truly Iconic Introduction!!! Not sure if the writers decided his name just so they could use this song lol but damn it was probably the best choice they ever made XD Just...amazing. I will remember this moment for years to come ^^
More seriously, though, it definintely showed that the writers were aware at how abusive and just all around horrible William was and that they tried their best to change that. They made Alejandro appologized to Vilde on his own, the dig he made at her was less bad and like it was at a party and he was kind of drunk so I guessed that makes it a bit better, he never pressured Nora, etc...Him and Nora were truly adorable actually, I LOVED their banter, how they were nerds togethers (like for the halloween party where they were the only ones who knew who she was dressed up as lol that was a nice touch to show how well they fit together) and I actually could not wait for them to get together because they were just so cute (yes I did not believe it either but I actually ended up shipping a Willhelm pairing, even Zoenne did not get me until the second half of season 2)... only for them to get together off-screen, never truly addressing the Viri situation, and then immediately breaking up the first scene they have together afterwards lol. which, after two seasons of waiting, felt very underwhelming (well one season, I only started to ship them in season 2). But like I understand that Nora's arc about getting out of an abusive relationship was more important to talk about that a love story we have already seen a million times so I'm not too mad about that, even though it would have been nice to see them together for a longer time (maybe in season 2???) so that we could see the difference between Miquel and Alejandro as boyfriends (the only thing we got was social media and not everyone has access to it).
Alejandro's character truly suffered from this decision though. The Noora season is supposed to be the one that lets the William "shines" (unfortunately), we get to know more about him and he (supposedly) becomes more than just the asshole jock character (og never truly managed that but you get my point). And here...well...he was just kind of there. It was very nice to see how supportive and respectful he was towards Nora, even when he was still very in love with her and she was dating someone else, but he kind of stayed personality-lacking for me. He ended up being very bland, only there to be the Good Boyfriend for Nora and don't get me wrong, like I said they are very cute and I'm glad they're endgame, but he has next to no dephth appart from that...
5- Daniel (Skam Austin)
I hate his face. Don't know how to say this in any other way, he has just this kicked puppy face all of the time, like he is always playing the victim even when he is the asshole. I just could not stand that. And damn, his introduction is like the opposite of Alejandro's, you can tell that this is an American show lol (no hate I love Skam Austin but still). Anyhow, there was not just bad things regarding his character, I can give him that, like he is already better than William (yeah that does not say much but Improvement is always good!). The thing I appreciated the most about him was how his relationship with Grace was portrayed. The writers really insisted on them being goofy kids in love, instead of being super serious and intense all of the time, it was really refreshing and nice to see a couple like that, especially for their first time having sex, it was so much more realistic. Also his Big Fight was against homophobes and in defense of Tyler, which made it better I guess (and is actually in the line of the "everyone is going through something, be kind, always" quote that follows the season)....
But for the other things? Damn I hate him so much. Like he pressured Grace to go on a date with him for A WHOLE YEAR even though they barely know eachother, and he was so creepy to the point that she had to invent a fake boyfriend to get him off her back (which is like my nightmare, I don't think the writers understand how exhausting and scary that kind of guy is, this is nor cute nor romantic, no matter what Grace's speech at the end of season 2 says, I'm still fuming about that), because of course he only respects her boundaries if she is already "claimed" by another man (eyeroll). And he even defends his brother after what he did to the woman he supposedly love and basically emotionally manipulate her to not attack him in justice? Wow boyfriend goals amiright???
Look, I could see the writers really did try to make him more likeable, and in some respect he was, but since, like I said before, they did not understand what was truly wrong with William's character, it did not work for me.
6-Charles (Skam France)
I don't think they even tried with him. On the contrary, they probably said to eachother "you know what we should do?? We should make him even worse!!! Groundbreaking!!!!" and then they did. Rape apologist, fights over Manon with Sofiane (btw I also have my beef with him but he will always have a special place in my heart for pushing Charles lol) even after she clearly made him know she did not want anything to do with him anymore, never actually appologized for what he has done nor admit he was in the wrong (they tried to make their issues about his relationship with his dad like in the og but like...no...that has no link whatsoever to the real problem), makes the same bad things William did without being given any nuance whatsoever, not to forget his glorious "you know what we say about people who say no? that their no is a yes in waiting" line, etc.... He really has all the qualities!
You know, skamfr season 2 was actually the first Noora season I have ever watched, even before the og. I was a real innocent and naive sweet summer child back then and I remember thinking at the begining of he season "Well I am relieved, they made him so creepy and mean, there is no way he is the love interest :)"...Yeah...And I did not learn my lesson, because I thought the exact same thing in season 4.... Poor naive little me lol. ^^

Spyfall 2
Commentators: Jodie Whittaker, Sylvie Briggs (Ada Lovelace), Chris Chibnall
Much like the Doctor doesn't like being alone, Jodie also isn't keen on doing scenes alone.
Chibnall actually did consult with his brother in law, who is very knowledgeable in aviation, about landing planes without a cockpit. And it is possible to do so remotely, people will be surprised how a lot of modern planes are actually flown by a computer. I'm not surprised, my dad's a pilot and he told me a lot of modern aircraft are actually flown more by the computers than the pilots. It's a two edged sword tho because then the pilot becomes too over reliant on the autopilot, and that's when accidents happen.
The scene with Ada and Thirteen meeting in the Kasaavin dimension was actually Sylvie's (Ada Lovelace) final day. Her first day was waking up in 'Paris' with Thirteen.
Interesting comment about how the Doctor's rhythm and speech changed dictated by the period of time she's in. It's modern but enough to sound period.
The hall the Doctor and Ada are in is a school, the dining hall.
The Master and his Top Hat! Jodie and Sylvie are both admiring how Sacha commanded the room and how genuinely terrifying he was. 'He (Sacha) rehearses in a way physically you kinda know what he's gonna do but emotionally its different.'
Jodie: "We're the same height, well you can see it 'cause we are but what is really ace is bein' able to eyeball somebody, because very often when you have a standoff with someone there's usually one's looking up, one's looking down or whatever but to be absolutely--"
Sylvie: "Because that changes the power dynamic."
Jodie: "Yeah."
Chibnall: "I never clocked that."
[snip]
Chibnall: "But I wonder if that's what makes it feels so much like your Master, your antagonist, your nemesis. It's like... that's interesting about the eyeline."
Jodie: "Cause in the scene obviously with Lenny outside like this (does something we can't see) and I like doing that thing of scrunching up and kind of, y'know, I suppose the.. doing that thing that kids do headstrong where the body leans forward. But with this two its (growls)."
Chibnall was uncertain about writing the kneel scene, Jodie agrees and didn't like it, Sylvie mentions that it feels epic to her. Chibnall:"There's something about your perfromances that makes it feel epic. But it's just that two-hander."
In the kneel scene, when they were filming, to keep the secret of the Master's identity, Jodie called Sacha 'Myka' instead of Master.
Jodie: "I like my bowtie." Chibnall: "Are you angling for the return of the bowtie?"
Jodie: "Every set, I try to knick something." LOL.
I love how Jodie compliments Sylvie, and I agree she fits the era very well. And an instance where costume (corset especially), and the hair all tied back helps get into character.
Ada really had episodes of paralysis, and one of the jumping off points for Chibnall's story.
Sylvie and Jodie comment on how lovely it was to have scenes with three women and not about 'Hey three women! Let's talk about being women! It's (their gender) is absolutely irrelevant to it but it is really lovely to have just three women. The kind of craziness Doctor Who brings with Ada in period clothes, the Doctor in a tux, and Noor in her period appropriate clothes.
They go on to discuss the Master's SS uniform and how it makes them (Sacha included) shudder because of what the uniform represented. And it's more of a reflection of the Master because he just treats wearing the SS uniform as a dress up without accounting for the implications and history of it. An alien tourist playing dress-up. [ED: I think the optics of this is still problematic I think it's something we need to acknowledge..]
There really was a point where Jodie and Sylvie were under the floor boards with people walking above them, and they held each other's hands because that experience was awful. On page it was very cool, but in execution. (Ed: I love that scene the whole way where there's a tense standoff between Noor and the soldiers, and the Master. And the steeliness of Noor just staring them down even with the soldier strafing the floor.) Chibnall wants several films with Noor Inayat Khan.
OMG. There was a point in the shoot where the Doctor was supposed to speak in perfect French, and Jodie joked that she already didn't speak English very well, and so she practiced speaking her line just to get the accent perfect... only for it to be cut for time. I WANT DELETED SCENES NOW.
Scanning through the Spyfall 2 script there's no mention of the scene where the Doctor speaks in French which really just confirms my suspicion that the scripts are not the shooting scripts, or at least the copies the actors use.
So, Chibnall gave the production several possible locations hoping to bring the budget to manageable scale and then he started writing and he got to the scene where the Doctor and Master spoke and the Master asked where they'd meet and then the Doctor answered; "Where d'you think?"
And Chibnall goes: "Oh they've got to meet in the Eiffel Tower. Production is going to kill me!"
Also, by this it confirms to me that Chibnall, like all of the showrunners is a Doctor/Master shipper, which I should've known already because Jack and Captain John were very much Doctor/Master lite.
Jodie loves doing duologues and is hoping for more two handers in the future, and Chibnall is taking note of that. Two handers where the other person has more of the dialogue... LOL. I guess Jodie really loved The Timeless Children.
[ED: Ada and Noor were such good companions. I want a historical companion for Thirteen next please. Thirteen, Yaz, and a historical Companion!]
Sylvie is so fascinated with the Doctor and Master's relationship, about how complicated it is.
One of the advises RTD gave Chibnall is that 'you can save anything in a line.' LOL. Apparently some of the Master's trauma across 77 years involved tailoring.
Jodie comments on how exciting it is being involved in the costuming, between herself and Sacha, they get to build their Doctors and Master's look and shape them. Also Jodie really loves cropped pants.
Jodie and Sylvie love the power walk, the big iconic, backlit smoke walk. The Big Exposition speech.
The scene where the Master arrives in Kasaavin dimension, same day filming for Jodie, and Sylvie too.
Jodie loves all the engineering and carpentry work, and any practical work.
They did do a shoot where they moved forward to a scene where Noor died, but in the edit found a better ending in the one that was broadcasted, and IMO, that was the right choice. Chibnall wants it more that Doctor Who will inspire people to read up more on Noor Inayat Khan and same Ada.
Chibnall didn't want to rob Ada of her agency, that the Doctor helped her discover computers or suggest that she didn't come up with it, everything Ada did she came up with herself.
The scene where Thirteen is alone and contemplating what happened to Gallifrey, Jodie comments how this was one of the few times where she's just very still.
Chibnall: "This is second series Thirteen, the place you take a character once you've done the first act, done in the beginning of your Doctor's second act."
Jodie and Sacha made sure that they're there in person for the scene in the TARDIS because having a stand-in would change the energy and performance of the scene.
Chibnall: "That performance from Sacha, the layer he brings to the Master there, of emotional truth and pain is so fantastic. It's a gift for a writer, and opens up the Master as well. And opens up your Doctor, I think, the trauma's so personal."
Hang on. Chibnall: "Is that the first appearance of the jumper? [ snip] They've come in this second series, its the first jumper. Little tiny changes you and Ray figure out." Are they implying there were more Doctor wearing only her long sleeve jumper we didn't get to see???
Chibnall: "And you got your Doctor theme but also it's the first time you [speaking to Jodie], it's interesting, I deliberately kept them back in the first series so that when you say them here, it's like you're saying 'Gallifrey', 'Kasterborous', 'Master for the first time."
Jodie: But its good that it ends with a: [using the same steely, angry voice]: 'Questions?' Like: 'Back to business, c'mon.'
Chibnall: (watching Thirteen's face subtly change when Yaz asked if they can visit, and it changes from a broken void to a forced smile). "Ohhhh. Why won't you tell them?" (LOL a writer asking his character.)

Thoughts on Cinema Sins ‘Everything wrong with Phantom of the Opera’ video.
Well at least ONE of the movies I was hoping Cinema Sins would cover happened. Some sins were expected, but I wasn’t expecting that the CS guy apparently saw the musical and has some knowledge about the history of PotO in general.
-”Several people died.” No not really unless not everyone got out of the burning opera house.
-Knew he’d make a Minions joke the second ‘illumination’ was mentioned.
-Aww, no sins off for the use of the Overture music? And its from the 80’s so of course it would sound the way it does.
-Ok, I admit showing the seats losing their dust and becoming brand new again as a ‘what if’ for movie theaters when quarantine was over was amusing.
-There’s a difference between good opera singing and annoying opera singing, which is why the ladies didn’t care for Carlotta’s singing.
-I wonder what a Silence of the Lambs opera would be like, speaking of CS getting his Hannibals mixed up.
-Raoul and Christine are supposed to be around the same age, so the fact that Patrick Wilson was like 13 years older than Emmy does make the ‘childhood sweethearts’ thing strange.
-Oh great, now CS made 2004!Raoul and Christine’s age gap as problematic as with her and Erik’s by pointing that out.
-Minnie Driver is a great Carlotta AND was a memorable part of this film.
-Oh Christ, 200,000 francs equals almost a million bucks in today’s world? Isn’t that a little too much to demand, Erik?
-Yeah Emmy doesn’t exactly HAVE the right voice for Christine when you compare her to other stage Christines (but at least she doesn’t have a weird vibrato like a certain someone).
-Christine doesn’t strike me as a super social person, and her father was a supporter of her musical talents so it makes sense that she wouldn’t be amongst her new fans and pay a visit to the chapel.
-I wonder if Ramin (aka one of the best Phantoms) found out that he was compared to Harry Styles in this video.
-Christine was supposed to keep her lessons a secret, so it makes sense that she’d confide in Meg after that.
-CS points out the unfortunate implications of Christine being a child when she was approached by Erik in this adaptation and I’m pretty sure CS is going to utterly destroy Webber for this someday.
-Actually yeah-where the hell did everyone go when there was so many people outside Christine’s dressing room a few moments ago?
-I do appreciate CS calling out Giry for just letting the Phantom stalk Christine and not stopping it sooner. (And it does feel strange that she’d let the girl she considers a surrogate daughter go through this).
-”Psychedelically laced smoke.” Every fan thinks that too.
-Also, the mirror is a trick mirror. Kind of obvious later.
-Also he needed her to think he was a divine tutor and didn’t show up until Raoul came into the picture (and because he wanted to move on to actually facing her like a real person).
-Well the horse WAS in the book, but him being part of Christine’s ‘possible hallucination’ makes sense too. Also the idea of her ridding the Phantom is amusing.
-No that WASN’T the sewers they were going through–the opera house literally had an underground lake and there’s a history behind it since the opera house this story is based on is real.
-Erik building the statues makes more sense to me since the guy is meant to be hyper talented. Also note that this is where you can especially tell CS had experience with die hard fans of the book since he refers to the Phantom by his actual name for this sin in addition to saying WHAT they told him specifically.
-Actually CS has a good point about how the final note of the title song is shown off. They should draw more attention to Christine singing that note since its not only a display of her talent but a show of just how much influence/power Erik has over that. Instead we don’t see Emmy singing (and as anyone will tell you, she sang it as an E flat and not an actual E note).
-Yeah that scarf mask is weird.
-The smoke eye has been a mystery for AGES CS and no one can answer why.
-Love the description of singing “Music of the night” as to treat it like going to a glorious destination.
-Thanks for reminding me why the casting choices and changed up backstory makes 2004!Erik worse than he needs to be (God... what the hell were you thinking ALW and JS?!)
-If CS is familiar with the musical, I wonder if he’s aware that 2004!Erik was many a teenage girls’ crush with that in mind.
-Ah the return of the original ‘creepy doll that looks like a character’ that I almost forgot about. Except CS makes it more creepier by pointing out something about it that makes 2004!Erik more creepier than he needs to.
-CS keeps referring to actors by whatever they were in/a character they also played. And I’m just reminded how strange it was to see Emmy in Shameless (and she’s not enough to make me want to watch that show).
-CS forgot that the managers were supposed to be ass-kissing when he wondered why they were in the dressing room.
-If I remember correctly, a company performs one opera production at night and then practices/rehearses for the next one during the day. The one they perform happens for a certain amount of time before its time to switch out. But yeah, the film makes it look like this is all happening in 24 hours which shouldn’t be possible.
-Nothing for that guy mooning Carlotta? Ok then, moving on I suppose.
-I’ve seen this movie hundreds of times and I NEVER saw the boat in the woman’s wig until it was pointed out.
-Was he not paying attention? Erik kills Bouquet because the guy was trying to go after him. The original reason why he died in the book was for the same reason.
-I’m glad that CS has sympathy for Christine for all she went though in a supposed 24 hours. I’d crack under all that too.
-Surprised he didn’t sin the snot shot on the roof. (You know what I’m talking about).
-Yeah, so much for a secret engagement if you got the ring exposed.
-Not sure why CS finds the gold guys funny other than they are ‘just there.’
-I would love to see the party-goers go after Erik since they DO outnumber him as an alternate scene during that moment after ‘Masquerade.’
-No ‘This is Sparta’ jokes? Ok then, moving on I suppose.
-Christine’s dad is implied to be famous in this movie (explaining the mausoleum, but in the book he was poor so he shouldn’t have one). But that does raise questions as to why Christine seemingly has little money to her name in this version.
-Dude, seeing the gave fight scene as Nite Owl vs. Leonidas was something I couldn’t unsee for more than 10 years. But I bet the Snyder fans loved that joke. (Speaking of CS and superhero films WHEN WILL YOU STOP TEASING ME WITH ‘ANIMATED SUPERHERO FILMS’ THAT ARE JUST ANIMATED DC FILMS AND SHOW ME THE ONE I ACTUALLY WANT TO SEE?!)
-I would love to see a Home Alone version of PotO since CS pointed it out.
-Actually I would love to see the au where CS is a critic in the PotO world and just not give a shit if Erik threatened him.
-Yeah, Raoul making Christine the bait and endangering her IS messed up. As much of a dolt he is, novel!Raoul would NEVER have done that to her.
-Erik’s hair looks nice because its a wig, CS.
-Oh boy, the reveal of the bad make up. No surprise it got a sin. I loved that CS showed Lon Chaney’s version (and hopefully will get people to watch the original silent PotO) and was more impressed by it over what this movie had. I also love how blunt CS is in summing up the deformity.
-There wasn’t a fire when the mob went after the Phantom in the musical. But as history can prove, some mobs care more about their goals than their own safety.
-I think they wanted to squeeze in one more trap before the final confrontation and Raoul WAS trapped in a room that became filled with water in the book and silent film. Though I’m amazed CS didn’t notice the reverse direction the bubbles were going during that scene.
-I don’t know how to answer why Christine was just standing around and doing jack shit to help Raoul during the final confrontation.
-A recreation of one of the most famous kiss scenes in musical history and CS just sums it up as ‘yeah your first kiss always sucks.’
-I love the contrast of Super Mario music with shots of PotO for the bonus round.
-Holy crap, that WAS a lot of candles.
-Some of the alternate audios for the last bit were unfamiliar but that Bug’s Life scene for when Christine is heading towards the mirror is perfection.
-And of COURSE CS would use that one Mission Impossible scene.
Final verdict: Predictable at times, but pretty amusing for a PotO fan like myself. I do hope the next movie musical CS covers is ‘Little Shop of Horrors.’
