and then merlin came to arthur and arthur was all SWEAR TO ME THAT WHAT YOU SAY IS TRUE and THEN I BELIEVE YOU and then he went to his father and assembled the whole court so that merlin's concerns would be heard, because he shared them

remember when even after not being able to substantiate the claim and firing merlin he still believed that what merlin said was the truth. remember when even after being sacked and sent away merlin came back to warn arthur

remember when arthur was all “my father will never apologize to me for being wrong” and then turned right around and APOLOGIZED TO MERLIN (his manservant!) and ADMITTED HE WAS WRONG. remember when uther was all, you care about some manservant's opinion??? and arthur was all, well yes, obviously, because merlin's a fucking person. remember when arthur saw merlin as a person when all his life merlin has felt different and other and confused about who he is and what he is

and also, again, all of this was in the SECOND EPISODE

remember when in the second episode arthur already showed he'd be a better ruler for albion than uther ever was, even back then when arthur was still so young at heart and had so much learning and growing still to do

remember when this all foreshadowed how he would take (and even ask for) merlin's perspective and advice later, during crucial moments for the kingdom

the way merlin is all "you have the wrong person" this and "arthur's an idiot" that but as soon as he hears confirmation that arthur is his destiny he's THROWING himself in harm's way (literally) for arthur, he's cheering for arthur in tournaments, he's worrying about him

arthur is the one who started a second confrontation at the marketplace - not merlin. because he was curious about him. because he wanted him in his life and didn't even understand why yet

because he can feel it; they can both feel it

thinking about arthur's journey from anger to acceptance to gratitude once he learns about merlin's magic, and how on some level you'd think that would change their dynamic forever because arthur would feel he could never make it up to merlin for all the ways he'd saved and supported arthur and the kingdom. and maybe arthur might feel that way for a while. but the fact of the matter is that arthur has always treated merlin as more than his manservant. from day one. FROM DAY ONE

merlin would have served arthur for the rest of his life!!! he would have been his court sorcerer!!! okay! he was ready for that! he was ready to see arthur white-haired and wise in his old age and he would have been at his side then still helping him dress even though he doesn't need to anymore, arthur's got other servants for that, and merlin's got other duties now, and arthur would say, shouldn't you be in your tower, dollophead? even while shrugging into the jacket merlin holds out for him, and merlin would respond i should, my lord even while fastening the clasps of arthur's cloak and it would be everything and nothing like old times

Let me tell you how - as clumsy and awkward as it was - Wille's first conversation with Simon went like it was specifically designed to make Simon fall for him. Like straight to the heart and deadly. Non-survivable event.

Simon is eating alone, no-one's sitting next to him to his right, to his left and in front of him, like people are at best not acknowledging him and at worst actively avoiding him, which they probably are. Wille comes in, sees him and purposefully seeks him out. He wants to sit close to him and talk to him. This is new to Simon and not at all something he'd have expected from "Ers Majestät".

W: "[you don't belong with Forest Ridge] but you're eating with us?" S: "We non-residents have to eat somewhere". Oh, you know Simon was just waiting to sink his teeth into Wille (metaphorically ...for now) and he savors Wille's faux-pas. You can just tell how much he enjoys delivering that comeback.

Wille's counterattack? Deadly. He introduces himself. He's like "I haven't introduced myself, I'm Wilhelm." He's humble, he doesn't assume people know him just because he's a member of the royal family and had a whole welcome party organized just for him like, yesterday. He's just a newcomer and his name is Wilhelm.

"I liked what you said in there, Simon." Simon had the whole class against him right then, teacher included, but Wille appreciates his opinion, he likes that Simon spoke up, even and especially against him. Bonus point, he adds Simon's name at the end of the compliment, because it matters. See, we know Wille was being sincere but Simon regains his footing here because this could potentially sound like a dig, and he's prepared for those so he remarks along the lines of "Oh yeah? So why didn't you say anything?", which brings us to:

"I'm not allowed to talk politics." And it's the way Wille says this, hesitantly, like he's painfully aware of the hypocrisy and he's ashamed of it. It rearranges Simon's view of him because it seems like Wille knows he's part of a bullshit establishment and he's not blissfully partaking of its privileges with no awareness or care. Wille is very much not like Simon had imagined he would be.

And then! Wille goes to leave and he almost drops his fork. Final dart, straight to the heart, Simon's fate is sealed: this guy's goofy.

And that, my friends, is how you go from Simon's mortal enemy to Simon's crush in the span of less than 2 minutes.

got may have made the adults feel better about liking fantasy, but lotr got into the kids' heads when they (we) were just young and impressionable enough to be absolutely transported and emotionally rewritten by don't you leave him, samwise gamgee and my brother, my captain, my king and and rohan will answer

lotr was rewriting entire generations' brain chemistry long before asoiaf and so obviously it's not fair to compare any post-lotr fantasy novel to it, and each book series was trying to do different things within their own spheres and so that also is not a fair comparison, but in terms of the cultural impact of the adaptations that came out within a decade of each other, saying that it was game of thrones that made fantasy mainstream is baffling

Man I'm on my rewatch of House MD and I really gotta give them more credit - Cameron develops a TON and is an extremely competent character in the later seasons after she leaves the team. I kinda forgot about it cause she disappears completely for the tailend of the show but she's one of the few characters who 1: Continually gets one over on House after she leaves, 2: Becomes successful as a doctor without the influence of House, and 3: Her main quality that initially makes her so annoying/or is depicted as a flaw, her caring and bedside manner, is developed and portrayed as a strength rather than a flaw. It accentuates her ability, it doesn't hold it back like House spends the first few seasons trying to convince you it is. She gets a lot out of House but when she leaves she doesn't abandon the part of her House ragged on - she takes it with her into every case. She's the best ER doctor, she brings cases to House that other people wouldn't have cared about or taken notice of (5×7 "The Itch"). She's actually one of the only fellows who makes it out a better doctor and STAYS out. Even with all that though, she's obsessive, she's controlling, but she's still a great doctor. House but not House. I just have a lot more appreciation for this character than I thought I would given the initial introduction of "Naive goody two shoes that is in love with her boss." What a good show.

the fact that crowley essentially says "one fabulous kiss and boom its sorted" when trying to get nina and maggie together, like that's how Love works. and his Last Ditch Effort at getting aziraphale to stay, to keep living in this comfortable existence they've carved out for themselves, to love him back, is a kiss. it's the most Human way he can think to express this love and desperation that is overflowing in him, because he knows that aziraphale loves humanity, they BOTH do. "to the world", and all that. "to us".

i wonder which kiss made him think of that. i wonder what historical event crowley saw, a miraculous kiss, and immediately realized "that is how humans love. this is what they do". was it in biblical times? was it from a romcom?

it's not even a GOOD kiss! neither of them have ever kissed before! its a messy smushing of lips and they're both shaking and crowley isn't sure if he's doing it right, aziraphale isn't sure what's Happening.

and aziraphale, in his fear, calls crowley's desperation "temptation". he forgives crowley for a sin that he himself has reprimanded himself for, many times over the years. its easier to blame his own falling in love on the demon himself. it's easier to backslide into an awful way of thinking that has kept you safe for millennia than take an unsteady step forward, a step where aziraphale isn't sure he'll have a place to land.

aziraphale is a guardian by nature, and what he does at the end of season 2 IS him trying to help. trying to protect, trying to fix. but for aziraphale to really break that cycle of running back to heaven for a secure attachment, he needs to realize how awful heaven is from the inside. because crowley sure as hell isn't opening up about what happened to him. because they never talk, and ESPECIALLY not about important things.

We all know Choi Seungcheol is a big baby. He'd get so whiney and pouty if you weren't paying attention to him when he wanted you to. You were in your shared bed finishing up some last minute work that had been dropped into your lap the day prior. Now, usually both of you are heavily against doing work in your bed but, there were some exceptions to that rule you'd both allowed in the past. This being one of them. Seungcheol isn't an unreasonable man. He knows you're busy and, you've assured him that you're close to finishing up. Trying to get this out of your hands as soon as possible. However, it's been awhile since you two have gotten the opportunity to spend some quality one on one time together because of your respective careers. He just misses his wife. So, maybe he's being a little bit more needy than usual.

You're focused on typing away on your laptop, absentmindedly reaching out to adjust one of the straps of your nightgown. Cursing your higher-up mentally for thinking you could apparently just whip up some top notch work last minute, without considering your feelings and commitments. It's during all of this you feel your husband's arms wrap around your waist and, his head pressed against your shoulder. "Cheol, I've missed you too baby but, I still have some work to finish," you remind him, gently reaching over to caress his cheek before resuming your typing. "I know, I just wanted to atleast touch you. I'll try not to get in the way," he responds, the pout in his voice evident without you even needing to look at his face. Cute. "Okay, I don't think this is too distracting," you reply, adjusting your laptop slightly so you're both comfortable in your new position.

You're startled out of your concentration when you feel his fingers toying with the hem of your nightgown and, his lips gently pressing a kiss to your shoulder. Now, normally these simple displays of affection wouldn't get you this riled up but, it's been well over a week since you two have been able to have sex and you're more high strung than you realised. "C-Cheol, I'm trying to work," you remind him, trying to regain focus from your very distracting husband. "I'm not doing anything. I'm just showing my wife some affection," comes his slightly gravelly reply, his hand caressing your thigh while he kisses along your shoulder. You try not to let out any sounds that might encourage him or, worse, stroke his already massive ego but, you can't help the whimper you let loose when finally reaches your neck. His smile against your skin quickly knocks you back to reality, your pride motivating you to return back to your work. "Come on baby," he tempts against your skin, his fingers inching towards your inner thighs, "You said your department head said it only has to be in by Monday. It's Saturday. You have time." You should've known better than to think Seungcheol would just let you work in peace. His experienced mouth making quick work of your exposed neck and shoulder, kissing and nibbling all the skin he has access to. "Y-Yeah but, the sooner I get it done, the sooner I can spend all my time with you," you try to reason, not focusing on anything on your screen. "You said you're almost finished anyways. You can just finish it tomorrow and, we can still spend time together tomorrow. A win-win," he fires back, his hand now encouraging you to spread your thighs for him. You're really trying your best here to remind yourself that it would be far more responsible to just finish your work tonight but, the logical part of your brain is quickly losing to the one that loves to fuck your husband. Atleast having the presence of mind to make sure your work is saved, you carefully shut your laptop and place it on your nightstand. Turning back to see your husband's shit eating grin, you barely resist the urge to roll your eyes before pulling him into a kiss. His fingers slowly make their way to your heat and, he groans into your mouth when he comes into contact with you completely bare. "Part of me thinks you wanted this to happen," he mutters against your mouth, giving your swollen clit barely there strokes. "Cheol, don't tease," you whine, fingers digging into his bicep. "You made me wait. I think it's only fair I return the favour," he responds, his eyes taking on a dangerous glint.

Okay but what if at some point in s3 Aziraphale turns to Crowley during the climax of the action and they're fighting and there's tears and Aziraphale is about to jump head into a dangerous situation (shocker, I know) to save Crowley and Crowley goes "why the Heaven would you do that" and Aziraphale would smile that teary eyed smile and go "you know why" and Crowley would just shake his head so Aziraphale would continue "You know I love you, Crowley" WHAT THEN, HUH?
