Ok actually, I have many qualms with the ‘live action’ httyd movie, but I am willing to forgive most of them if they show me blood.

Show me the brutal reality of a small village waging a war on an entire nest of dragons -show me people and dragons alike dying - show me why they’ve felt justified in doing this for 7 generations. Show me in funeral pyres and pools of blood, and a stockpile of prosthetic limbs they have in preparation for bitten or burned off limbs

Not only will it bring an intensity fans have been wanting, but it will make Hiccup befriending a dragon that much more.

Hiccup - and us - having seen the truth of the suffering dragons have brought for hundreds of years, and him wanting for his entire life to end it in the only way he knows how. But then seeing Toothless, alone and vulnerable and scared, with a bloody and raw, un-savable tail fin, he can’t see past that. In an instant, confronted with the pain he inflicted, he decides everything he’s known and held dear, is wrong

Seeing the brutality of war and pain, and watching Hiccup painstakingly gain the trust of the one he hurt, and then the ridicule that follows that, will make me forgive the blatant money grabbing, and shit lighting, and the fact the twins don’t even look like each other (which I’ll probably forgive anyway, it’s not a big issue)
