I was watching some kind of VR game/movie thing, which was based on the cartoon Bounty Hamster. The protagonist, Cassie, had fallen into a coma and woken up as an animated skeleton 100 years later. The entire plot was Cassie viewing the logs from the eponymous Bounty Hamster where he spends his whole life waiting for her to wake up. It was absurdly depressing and Cassie then became an alcoholic despite being a) a skeleton and b) mentally still 13 years old.

Incidentally, I think this is the most anyone has thought about the British sci-fi cartoon Bounty Hamster since 2003.

I think it's a stupid decision to completely forget Kang and replace him with Doctor Doom

Doom is a major threat yes but imo he is a significantly lesser threat compared to Thanos and Kang

Why couldn't they just recast Kang? They did it with Bruce, they did it with Rhodey, they did it with Red Skull hell they recasted Cassie in Quantumania

So why not recast Kang? There's plenty of black male actors who can play him far better than JM did like Denzel Washington

Do you know how awesome it would've been to see Denzel as Kang?

They could've recasted Kang it's not a situation like Chadwick Bozeman and Black Panther but it's obvious that even that doesn't really matter because William Hurt has been dead for two years and they replaced him with Harrison Ford

Now you're probably thinking "Well, wouldn't it be weird if Kang suddenly looked different from the last time we saw him?" Not really nobody questioned how Bruce changed between The Incredible Hulk to The Avengers or how Rhodey changed between Iron Man 1 to Iron Man 2 or how Cassie changed between Endgame to Quantumania and nobody is gonna question how Ross changed from Civil War to Brave New World

Not to mention by retconning Kang they basically made Loki and Quantumania redundant

Literally if Quantumania and Loki were there to set up Kang as the next big bad and now they're not even using Kang anymore then Quantumania and Loki were just a waste of everyone's time

Walker episode 2 review

Cordell, Trey, and Cassie find themselves watching over the episode’s titular character, Maybelline Pratt, a state witness in a money laundering case.  Maybeline has the charm of all 4 Golden Girls characters as well as their combined age.  Like Sophie Petrillo, she gave Trey the slip and tried to hotwire a patrol car with a wrench, because that’s how they do in Sicily.  Like Blanche Devereaux, she loves flirting with Trey even as they take turns running away from each other.  Like Dorothy Zbonak, she is full of judgment stares and sass and keeps calling Cordell by the wrong surname.   Rangers over the age of 50 are smitten with her because every red-blooded male that grew up in the 70s and 80s fell in love with Karen Allen and Kathleen Turner and their smokey voices.  Harrison Ford to this day can’t stand Indiana Jones fanboys approaching him to only want to talk about Marion Ravenwood and “that voice”.

Maybelline has the Rose Nylund naivety thinking she can just go back to St. Olaf and carried a metal file in her oversized purse to escape from WITSEC. Cordell decided one of them need to take her home.  Trey and Cassie were “not it” and Cordell reluctantly take her to Walker ranch while the 2 security officers assigned to her secure the area.  Maybelline soften her attitude towards Cordell when she sees family pictures and learn of Emily’s passing.  Later in the middle of the night, Cordell finds Maybelline having “just to taste” bourbon at the dinner table and the two have a heart to heart over Cordell’s worry over his children leaving the nest.

“The days are long, but the years are short”, Maybelline tells Cordell, and while children appear not to listen, they are always watching.  The fact that Stella and August feel comfortable enough to leave home just means he (and Emily) did a good job raising them, and they’ll likely come back one day.  Just like Cordell and Liam did.

Cordell found it easier to talk to a stranger about his anxiousness over being ill prepared for "the quiet" once his kids are gone.  Stella too, found it easier to talk to Ben about her guilt over Witt’s death and had even shut Liam out.  In attempt to make peace with her conflicting conscious, she visits a roadside memorial where Witt succumbed to his gun shot injury.  Unexpectantly Witt’s uncle, Mike, shows up and seems kind, which made Stella feel worse and she flees.  Then Mike ominously calls someone to say he found something “interesting”.   Looks like there will be a second mystery to go with the unsolved Jackal case as we never learn why Witt broke into Geri’s house.  Speaking of which…

Cassie had updated Geri (and us) that she decided to return to the Texas Rangers.  Later Geri offers Cassie to move into her house, referencing the break in that it would be a good idea to have a ranger around.  While Cassie is thrilled and accepted Geri’s offer, you know that Cordell would be worried about their girl talks.  At least I would be.

Cordell, Trey, and Cassie brings Maybelline to court to give her testimony only to walk right into a trap to distract them so that the baddies can kidnap Maybelline. Cue lively soundtrack as a car chase through the parking garage to rescue Maybelline ends in beat down fights by Cordell and Trey. Maybelline bats her Blanche Devereaux lashes at Trey for saving her.  Cordell insists it was a team effort.

At home, Cordell waits for August to discuss the issue of him wanting to join an after school boot camp to ready himself for the military, but he needs a signed permission slip from his father.  Earlier August asked Bonham to go over Cordell’s head and convince Trey, who is running the program, to let him join.  In the season 3 finale, Cordell wouldn’t give his permission to let August join the military while he is underage.   When Bonham tries to broach the subject with Cordell, he immediately shuts it down because he wants to put off of August growing up as long as he can.   But after his midnight conversation with Maybelline, Cordell is ready to have a talk with August.

Cordell explains that while he has no regret over his own tour in the military, he can’t help wondering if he missed out on other options and he doesn’t want that for August.  But, if this is really what August wants, he'll be supportive, no matter how much he'll worry over his “only son” and “baby boy”.  August is thrilled and promised to follow Cordell’s condition that he is present for every Sunday dinner and keep up his schoolwork.  A flashback scene from the pilot episode shows Cordell telling a 14-year-old August he didn't mean for his son to grow up quickly after his mother's death, adding to Cordell’s bittersweet demeanor.

We have "the quiet" before the storm with Cordell, Liam, Ben, and Stella having fun together playing darts at the Side Step. Stella returns to her dorm to find a threatening message on the window written in red paint.

Speculation #2: Witt didn't die from his gunshot wound and was murdered on the roadside by the same person who left the threatening message to Stella.

Score: 9 out of 10. What started out a light-hearted episode ends with a horror movie jump scare, a kind of metaphor for parental struggle and angst.

Antonio’s mostly here out of nostalgia. He can’t believe it’s still standing — the smell is exactly the same, though he supposes that’s no surprise, considering the smell is just pizza. The arcade games are just as loud as they’d been back in the day, the screeching of children just as prominent, and he’d lean more into the nostalgia of the visit if he hadn’t been struck by the sight of something far, far more enticing.

She’s at the counter, looking up at the menu, waiting her turn. She’d been younger, then. Married. Antonio remembers that night on tour well — Elijah had once again chosen to chase after Harrison during their night off, leaving him with nothing but an ailing heart and a bitter disposition. His preferred method to combat such things had been — and still are — to go out to a bar by himself, pick someone up, forget about the heartbreak for an hour or two. It would come tumbling back the second it was over, of course, but at least for some time, he wasn’t some pathetic loser pining over his best friend. Or the man who used to be his best friend, anyway. He’d certainly been happy to bestow that honor onto Harrison, eventually. 

He doesn’t forget that specific night, however, because her beauty had been almost surreal. Her large, brown eyes, the dark shade of her hair, the brightness of her smile. She’d commanded the attention of the room, even if she hadn’t realized it at the time. And Antonio had been all too happy to give her that attention — would have happily taken her home, too, if she hadn’t admitted to him after an hours-long conversation that she was taken, and it would be inappropriate of her to go home with him. Something he’d respected, of course. The conversation had been lovely, stimulating, even, the back and forth so quick and natural it had set fire to something within him he’d had to promptly put out when she’d rejected him in the kindest way possible. Give me your number, she’d told him after all was said and done. And I’ll call you if anything changes.

The call never came. He supposes not much had changed, then. Still, he can’t help but sidle up next to her in line, feigning interest in the menus behind the counter. After a minute or two of this, he leans over to her, a small smile curving his features. “You never called,” he tells her, the success of this line fully dependent on whether or not she remembers him. Still, he’s an optimist nowadays. When he’s drunk, anyway. He raises an eyebrow when she meets his gaze, his grin turning a little more smug. “Cassie,” he recalls, the memory of her name rolling easily off his tongue. “I guess your husband was lucky enough to keep you around all these years, hm?”

I did! Angela Anacdona was good. I remember Strange Days at Blake Holey High! It's Canadian and American according to Wiki. It did yeah, Robert Clark, who was also in The Zack Files (a Canadian show). I had no idea Fergie was in a band before BEP. Cool *thumbs up*. Ohh cool, nice. Casper Meets Wendy was awesome. Cool. I remember a show called Guenivere Jones, I don't know if you've heard of it. Im getting nostalgic too. Definitely good times! Np! You're definitely not alone <3 :)

I'm sure if I knew more I could kind of remember Gwenivere Jones bc it sounds vaguely familiar i probably did see it I just don't think my brain remembers it lmao

As for the other shows I do remember most of these, there is a lot of overlap with these channels having international shows I distinctly remember that 2/47 was set at a private co-ed-like a boarding school in Europe I assume because of the accents that aired on the-n.

I know Are you Afraid of the Dark? on Nickelodeon, even the thing about. Radio Free Roscoe which aired around the same time as Degrassi on former block/channel the-n now Teenick owned by Viacom and family channels from Canada and the United States including Nickelodeon and others like YTV, also had featured a lot of Canadian actors/young American actors/some that have roots with acting in Canada and not necc. Hollywood or whatever. if I'm being honest, a lot of Nickelodeon shows if I remember correctly lots of shows were filmed there, even Instant Star but that show is a sister to Degrassi just like The La Complex I think there were some similarities, and also starred Cassie Steele who was on Degrassi mostly but guested on that show, and I think another one and I know then-Aubrey Drake also guest starred for an arc on there. All in all, there are some significant overlaps and similarities such as some of the locations being the same, the mall, the weird house that had the beaded door decals, the fact that the characters were seen playing karaoke in a season 6 episode or something, and like it was a jude harrison song called 'anyone but you' from the 1st or 2nd season of Instant Star, and some of the stars, guests and such were on Degrassi and other shows.

As someone who watched some of these shows in the 2000s, it's fascinating when I'd see a familiar face i would get such a kick out of that, but I know that merges with networks and deals make that stuff possible, not necessarily that cut/dry simple. I live in the US, and have for all of my life, but I know that a lot of shows use sets there I heard it's bc its cost-effective and they can still film in 'summer' or when it's not as cold outside, so that means early to what we on the east coast would call early summer to mid-summer, and by August it's apparently chillier. For the longest time, I thought they filmed Degrassi in a school that they had to rent, but that was only the set they used as the middle school, not the HS i think that was long closed before they used that as the set/backdrop for degrassi high.
