Translating Dawn of Sorrow's bios

Soma Cruz

19 years old

The protagonist of this game. He has the ability, called "Power of Dominance", to control the souls of monsters and use their power. In the previous year's battle, he realized that he was the reincarnation of Dracula and awakened as the Dark Lord, but by overcoming the Chaos within himself, he rejected his fate. However, since the enormous power of the Dark Lord still belongs to him, his life was once again targeted.

Mina Hakuba

19 years old

The only girl of Hakuba Shrine and Soma's childhood friend. A year ago, she and Soma were trapped in Dracula's castle in a solar eclipse. She doesn't have any special powers, but she's the girl Soma is most comfortable with, and she's his emotional support throughout the story.

Yoko Belnades

25 years old

A witch who works for the Church. An expert in covertly dealing with malicious entities that harm humans. She's a descendant of Sypha Belnades, who destroyed Dracula in 1476. She has a friendly but nosy personality. She frequently visits Mina's house, and she's like an older sister to her.

Genya Arikado

Age unknown

A person who keeps an eye on Soma. Other than that he belongs to a secret agency of the Japanese government, everything about him is shrouded in mystery, and only a handful of people know his true identity. He is inhumanly beautiful, but also unfriendly and unapproachable, and few people know his true feelings.

Julius Belmont

56 years old

A descendant of the Belmont family, a legitimate family of vampire hunters. He wields the "Vampire Killer", a demon-extinguishing whip that has been handed down in his family. He's the man who defeated Dracula in 1999. He lost his memory in battle at that time, but regained it a year ago, and now helps the Church.

Hammer

35 years old

After the events of last years, he retired from the military and now runs a general store. Although he appears scary and strong-willed, he's actually rather laidback. Expanding connections in the underworld, he also acts as an informant. Rumor has it that he fell in love with Yoko and that's why he expanded his connections.

Celia Fortner

26 years old

Although she is the founder of a cult that worships God, her hidden nature is of a dark priest. With the Dark Lord gone, she feels that the power of the Dark Side is weakening, and is afraid of losing her power. Therefore, she takes action to kill Soma and take away his power as the Dark Lord.

Dario Bossi

37 years old

A Dark Lord candidate who manipulates flames. He has the ability to manipulate flames because he was exposed to Dracula's power when he was destroyed. He's the impulsive type and acts immediately on what he thinks.

Dmitrii Blinov

37 years old

A Dark candidate who copies magic. Like Dario, he was exposed to Dracula's power, so he has the ability to absorb the magical powers he's struck by. He speaks politely, but will go to great lengths to achieve his goals.

The biggest missed opportunity of Julius Mode in Dawn of Sorrow is the low level of dialogue. We only get it when Julius recruits Yoko and Alucard and the final confrontation with Soma. And even then the dialogue is limited. I want to see more!

I want to see Julius, Yoko, and Alucard talk to each other after boss fights. I want to see them grapple with the fact they have to kill someone they deem as a friend. Even discourse between them regarding their different approaches with Soma needing to be killed would be interesting to see, essentially a display of their individual character in regard to morality. Though it’s obvious that Soma must be defeated (it’s his own wish afterall), the line does get blurry. I’d like to see conversations with the cult and their reaction in being successful. Are they happy and smug? Do they mourn Celia’s loss? I have no idea! But it would be cool to know! I would have loved to see Alucard comment on Yoko’s ability and how it reminds him of Sypha. Something to Julius about the Belmont legacy too! That would have been awesome! Maybe even a moment with Mina, like what would they say to her??

Anyways, I just think it would have been rewarding to get some more in-depth dialogue as the mode is rather challenging.

I've never played a mainline game, so I'll just talk about the characters, lol.

Sara. Darling Sara. She deserved so much better, and I'm still upset that they never went further with her possessing the VK. Although, I'm kinda glad, because she might've become the Tutorial NPC. She has a beautiful theme, and the music box cover of the Vampire Killer in LoS1 is just as pretty.

Death and Dracula have such a strange, yet probably healthiest, relationship that either of them could be part of. Dracula is especially a good villain. A part of me wants to be sympathetic towards him, but he is such a bastard, that every time he opens his mouth that sympathy dashes away. I love him at his least redeemable. However, I feel painfully neutral towards Walter and Shaft, and any of the other Sorrow villains. Except Celia, I feel like there is a lot of potential in her.

Once I play some of the mainline games, these opinions might change, but so far I'm loving what I see. I do think the early voice acting is kinda goofy, but I wouldn't change that for the world. Also, the humor. I do like the running gags and hijinks in the series, it makes the world feel lively. Also, the mangas? The artwork? There's a reason it's one of the most influential games in the industry.

LoS

The atmosphere is darker and heavier than in the mainline. However, that's not to say it's trying to be edgy, it's just trying to do its own take on the tale. It does have its own sense of humor, and plenty of references to the older games that make sense with the story, ex. Burning Agreus' familiar to get a roast!

The characters. The characters in LoS are phenomenal, despite there not being many of them. While Felicia was a late game arrival, I adore what little I can find about her. The bosses are really well designed, and the boss battles are really good.

Where do I even begin on the Belmonts? The twist that Belmonts and Dracul are from the same family? I love it. I never saw it coming, until I accidentally spoiled it for myself. The emotions that these characters show are also amazing. Gabriel/Dracul and Trevorcard both have parts of onscreen sobbing. And not the pretty crying, I mean the mental breakdown crying. But the tiredness that Dracul expresses in LoS2, even Robert Carlyle even said was purposeful. He wanted to make Gabriel exhausted of living, and it shows so well in LoS2.

In saying that, there are plenty of problems, especially in LoS1. While the battles are good, there are a few that I had issues with. Malphas and the Gravedigger. The eggs that Malphas shoots at you, I always had issues with throwing back at her. The Gravedigger summons enemies that possess corpses in coffins when you try to get close to him, and then it's a qte while you're avoiding getting hit by him. It's kind of a mess, but I do appreciate him being difficult because he's a late game battle. I also mentioned this earlier, but it needs repeating. LoS2 focuses too much on the first Acolyte, and not enough on the other two.

But my biggest thing is a specific enemy in LoS1. The Headless Burrower. They are the SotN Medusa heads of LoS. They are zombies, that throw their heads and then the bodies burrow underground. The heads float around and are a pain to fight. At certain parts they can't be hurt, and then the heads are hard to lock on to, much less hit with the VK. Luckily, you only have one required fight with them, and then you have an optional fight with them.

Castlevania: Dominus Collection ! Un voyage nostalgique sur deux écrans, enfin presque...

La Nintendo DS, ah cette petite merveille portable qui a conquis le monde avec ses 154 millions d'unités vendues. Autant dire que Nintendo a frappé fort, donnant à Castlevania une belle rampe de lancement avec trois opus qui allaient marquer la décennie 2000. Dawn of Sorrow a ouvert le bal en 2005, suivi par Portrait of Ruin en 2006 et enfin Order of Ecclesia en 2008, à une époque où, miracle, il ne fallait pas des années pour que notre saga de vampires préférée sorte un nouvel épisode. Oui, cette ère dorée où on ne mourait pas de vieillesse en attendant un nouveau Castlevania...Konami, qui aime bien nous rappeler qu’ils savent parfois faire autre chose que des machines à sous, a su maintenir Castlevania dans le paysage vidéoludique malgré l’évolution rapide du marché. Le trio de la DS prouvait que les chasseurs de vampires pouvaient aussi briller sur les consoles portables, tout en restant fidèles à cette bonne vieille 2D, déjà immortalisée dans Symphony of the night. Le tout en y ajoutant des touches de modernité : entre autres, des mécaniques exploitant astucieusement les deux écrans de la DS. Par exemple, dans Dawn of Sorrow, il fallait dessiner des sceaux magiques sur l’écran tactile pour achever les boss, ces derniers devenant de plus en plus complexes au fil de l’aventure de Soma Cruz. Un mini-jeu dans le jeu, histoire de vous rappeler que vaincre un boss, ça se mérite.Et puisque Dominus Collection ne fait pas les choses à moitié, elle intègre aussi un joyau d’antan : Haunted Castle, le titre arcade de 1987, plus célèbre pour sa difficulté sadique que pour ses mécaniques de gameplay révolutionnaires. Disons qu’il était taillé sur mesure pour vous ruiner en quelques minutes, et faire de la borne d’arcade un gouffre à pièces.Alors, pourquoi la Nintendo Switch est-elle la plateforme idéale pour cette collection ? Tout simplement parce qu’elle préserve en partie l’essence tactile de la DS. Certes, il manque le deuxième écran, mais en mode portable, vous pouvez toujours utiliser vos doigts pour dessiner ces fameux sceaux, recréant un peu la sensation du stylet DS. Et en mode dock, la magie opère grâce à une combinaison de la gâchette ZR et du stick droit, un système astucieux, bien qu’imparfait. Le studio M2, en charge de cette collection, mérite toutefois des applaudissements pour son souci du détail. On n’est pas dans une recréation parfaite, mais l’effort pour nous replonger dans ces sensations perdues est là.

Castlevania : Dominus collection ! Trois épopées, un seul maître des ténèbres

Que serait Castlevania sans son thème central indéboulonnable ? Les chasseurs de vampires, souvent membres du prestigieux clan Belmont, sont là pour renvoyer Dracula dans sa tombe – ou du moins, essayer, car le vieux bougre ne cesse de ressusciter avec son château maléfique. Dans la Dominus Collection, on retrouve cette formule, mais cette fois, on met de côté Haunted Castle (qui ne brille pas vraiment par son scénario) pour se concentrer sur les trois autres opus.Commençons par Dawn of Sorrow, qui fait directement suite à Aria of Sorrow sur Game Boy Advance. On y retrouve Soma Cruz, un adolescent à l’existence plutôt banale... si l’on excepte le fait qu’il a découvert être la réincarnation de Dracula. Rien que ça. Le jeu nous projette en 2036, une époque futuriste où Soma essaie de mener une vie normale avec son amie Mina. Mais bien sûr, quand on a un destin aussi sombre, la tranquillité n’est jamais qu’une illusion. La prêtresse Celia Fortner, grande fan du prince des ténèbres, n’a qu’une idée en tête : ressusciter Dracula dans le corps de Soma. Plusieurs fins sont possibles dans ce chapitre, qui marque l’ambition de Koji Igarashi de renouveler la série, avec un soupçon de futurisme qui dénote avec les châteaux gothiques des épisodes précédents.Passons ensuite à Portrait of Ruin, qui nous catapulte en pleine Seconde Guerre mondiale, en 1944, une année déjà bien chargée en horreurs. Comme si le conflit mondial ne suffisait pas, voilà que le château de Dracula se réveille à nouveau. Jonathan Morris, héritier d'une autre célèbre lignée de chasseurs de vampires, et la jeune sorcière Charlotte Aulin prennent les armes pour stopper les plans du sinistre Brauner, un vampire profitant du chaos ambiant. L’originalité du titre ? Le duo de protagonistes, qui ajoute une belle dynamique au gameplay. En combinant leurs compétences – Jonathan pour le corps à corps, Charlotte pour la magie – le joueur doit résoudre des énigmes et survivre à des affrontements intenses. Le château lui-même offre une grande variété, avec des tableaux qui transportent les héros dans des mondes différents, apportant une touche d’aventure rafraîchissante.Enfin, Order of Ecclesia, sorti en 2008, se démarque par sa difficulté, et elle n’a pas pris une ride. Si vous cherchez un défi, c’est ici que ça se passe. Mais ce qui rend cet opus mémorable, c’est surtout son héroïne, Shanoa, l’une des figures féminines les plus iconiques du jeu vidéo. Forte, déterminée, indépendante, Shanoa est membre de l’Ordre d’Ecclesia, un groupe mystique cherchant à contenir les pouvoirs de Dracula. Mais comme on peut s’y attendre, tout ne se passe pas comme prévu. Ils restent incroyablement plaisants à jouer, même après toutes ces années, confirmant qu’ils ont su conquérir la critique et les joueurs dès leur sortie.

Une collection soignée où l’art rencontre la nostalgie... et quelques frustrations

Dans la lignée des précédentes collections de Castlevania, comme l'Anniversary Collection et l'Advance Collection, Konami continue de nous gâter. Cette fois, en plus des jeux, ce sont des trésors cachés qui sont déterrés, sous forme d'œuvres d'art inédites et de scans des livrets d'instructions originaux. Ah, ces manuels ! Un véritable saut dans le passé pour ceux d'entre nous qui ont grandi en feuilletant ces petites merveilles d'illustrations et de conseils avant de lancer un jeu. Aujourd’hui supplantés par l’ère du numérique et l’abondance de guides en ligne, les voir réapparaître est un geste de préservation du patrimoine vidéoludique. Une touche vintage qui accompagne avec grâce les trois chapitres DS de la Dominus Collection.Sur le plan artistique, on peut dire que Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, et Order of Ecclesia ont eu droit à un lifting qui fait plaisir aux yeux. La musique, l’un des points forts de toute la série, a également été magnifiquement retravaillée. Pas de dénaturations ici, juste une touche moderne pour sublimer les compositions originales. Si vous êtes fan de la bande-son de Castlevania, préparez-vous à être à nouveau transporté dans cet univers gothique et envoûtant.Petite nouveauté bien pratique : la possibilité de rembobiner le temps. Un game over face à un boss trop coriace ? Pas de souci, un petit retour en arrière et hop, vous pouvez retenter votre chance. Mais attention, ne vous laissez pas trop tenter par cette fonctionnalité. Après tout, une bonne partie du charme de Castlevania réside dans la satisfaction d'obtenir ce foutu objet rare après des heures de grind. Heureusement, les puristes peuvent choisir de jouer sans cette aide, en s'en tenant aux points de sauvegarde originaux pour vivre une expérience aussi authentique (et frustrante) que possible.Du côté des graphismes, les jeux DS de cette collection surpassent largement leurs homologues GBA de la précédente collection. Même si M2 avait fait un bon boulot sur la Advance Collection, le passage du temps était encore visible. Ici, Portrait of Ruin et Order of Ecclesia se distinguent par une direction artistique qui tient toujours la route, même selon les standards actuels. Des décors variés, une multitude de détails visuels, et une atmosphère que seul Castlevania sait distiller. La refonte sonore, quant à elle, est tout aussi impressionnante, avec une bande-son qu’on peut même écouter dans le menu principal. Un véritable régal pour les oreilles.Côté jouabilité, évidemment, la Switch n’a pas les deux écrans de la DS. M2 a dû ruser en proposant plusieurs configurations. Si vous jouez en mode portable, ne vous attendez pas à une clarté optimale si vous optez pour le mode portrait. Voir deux écrans superposés sur une petite Switch peut vite virer à la migraine. Par contre, avec un bon gros téléviseur, l’expérience devient bien plus agréable. Après quelques essais, la configuration par défaut, avec l’écran principal à gauche et le tactile à droite, s’avère être la plus efficace dans la majorité des cas.Le menu principal, avec ses illustrations inédites, est un ajout esthétique qui vaut le détour. Pour les amateurs d’art et de raretés, c’est un pur plaisir. Et bien sûr, impossible de ne pas mentionner le travail effectué sur Haunted Castle. Bien que la version originale soit le maillon faible de la collection (un jeu d’arcade conçu pour vider vos poches, soyons honnêtes), M2 semble avoir pris un malin plaisir à revisiter cet opus. Résultat : une version rafraîchie qui, sans égaler les gloires DS, offre une expérience intrigante, un peu entre l’ancien et le moderne.En résumé, la Dominus Collection est une lettre d’amour à l’histoire de Castlevania. Entre respect des œuvres originales, révisions artistiques et ajouts paratextuels précieux, cette collection se déguste avec passion. Si certains choix de configuration sur Switch peuvent frustrer, le plaisir de retrouver ces classiques l’emporte largement.

A month ago, I got the chance to interview the lovely Y/N Belmonte. She promised to take myself and Grace, my friend, another writer for the magazine, out for lunch when she was in Los Angeles. A lot of people promise to reach out again, and their teams and themselves rarely do. I understand they’re busy people.

In this case, Miss Belmonte stayed true to her word.

Miss Belmonte met us at her favorite cafe, and if I did not have the proper directions, I would not have found it. I will not be sharing the name because she shared how it’s a place she frequents a lot when she’s in the city, and I know how much she values her privacy.

The promise lunch became a breakfast, and it was terrific. Best coffee of my life, if I’m being honest. Also, she’s big on sharing. She stole a bite of my French toast and shared some of her omelet. Think it’s the Hispanic in us because I share like crazy. She didn’t expect it back but come on, I had to. It’s Y/N Belmonte; I can’t say no to that angelic face.

She confessed that it was nice being out in the city, something she didn’t often do as Los Angeles is not a place she frequented. Expressing how New York had managed to capture her heart, she loved going out for walks whenever possible.

Although, she did mention something about a change of location for some time. Maybe, we’d be invited to the housewarming.

After breakfast that felt like three friends catching up, she surprised us with tickets to tonight’s sold-out show for Love on Tour. The second of three.

She did not have to do that.

I repeat, she did not have to.

But Miss Belmonte did.

I’ll be honest. We freaked out for a bit.

She assured us she wanted to, that Harry and Jeff were friends and more than happy to do this for her.

Safe to say, we’d be sending the nicest (with our wage) fruit basket to Full Stop Management.

Before we left, we asked Bel about the random paint sessions she does on her Instagram stories.

She laughs, “that’s something. I’m not sure how lives work, and I do love my fans. So I’ll sit there and origami with them or grab a canvas and paint. Show each fold. Tell them how to draw something. Then I’m flooded with them doing something similar.”

“I’ve tried doing the frog,” Grace confesses. “Not too good.”

“I’ll send you a private tutorial. You’ll be a pro after.”

“Thank you,” Grace laughs.

“Back to your question, I do it to connect. I know my life is public but also very private. This allows me to share a bit of me with them. I love what I do, but I value my privacy just as much.”

Well, we agree.

Miss Belmonte is the kindest person I’ve ever met, and I’ve met Hugh Jackman.

We parted ways, hugs all around. Belmonte slipped into her borrowed car (a friend’s, she said) promised to see us when we arrived later tonight.

In the meantime, we did what normal people do… which was freak out over their outfits. We had no clue what to wear, but thankfully we worked with amazing people that were happy in lending a hand.

I’m sure you don’t care about how we got ready, but if you do, we made transition videos on our TikTok. Yes, we gave in because, as many have said, Love on Tour is our own Met Gala, and I’m proud of our looks. So please do check that out.

Arriving, we had clear instructions on where to enter. Then after getting fancy backstage lanyards, we were directed by private security to a cozy lounge.

We aren’t sure where Miss Belmont is, but we aren’t worried. She’s a busy woman. The staff was welcoming, and the private lounge area had leather couches to sit back and relax. A table with cake, cookies, and drinks laid out in the back of the room. I was quick to reach for one when Grace slapped my hand, saying it was rude. I thought it was rude I wasn’t eating any cookies (they were good when I finally got the chance).

Grace and I were talking when a few men walked in, then we fell quiet when one last person came in. Remember, we weren’t the only people in the room. There were many famous people there, I won’t even name any because the truth is you wouldn’t believe me.

Having been there a good half hour, refreshments in hand now. We were relaxed until we weren’t.

The man of the hour walked in with an entourage.

We had no intention of meeting Mr. Styles, let alone disturbing him. Then he surprised us by walking right towards us, a look of recognition on his face as he introduced himself to us.

“Bel’s friends, right. She said you’d be coming.”

I didn’t know what to say. Harry Styles referred to me as Y/N Belmonte’s friend as in she’s talked about us to him. Also that fact he calls Miss Belmonte Bel.

Too much to absorb.

Grace, always the most graceful, thanks to her namesake, reacted for us.

“Yes, that’s us, Mr. Styles. Excited for the show, thank you for having us.”

“I’m happy you could make it.”

“It’s great to meet you. Y/N was kind enough to extend an invitation.” I was finally able to voice.

Harry nods, “that’s Bel, alright. I always tell her it’s nice having friends in the audience.”

Do you know how people have said Styles is shy? Well, it’s true. As welcoming as he was, little foot shuffles showed he was nervous to speak with us. Yet, we felt the same.

He had apologized for Bel not being there to meet them, but he had kept her distracted and was now taking a phone call saying she’d walk in soon.

Before he left, we asked him if something surprised him about Belmonte. He thought about it for a second, his green eyes shining brighter at the mention of her.

“Golf. She’s got a killer swing.”

“Didn’t even know she played.”

“She doesn’t.” He could tell I had another question. “That’s all I’ll be saying.”

“Fair enough.”

I was getting over meeting a childhood crush when our friend came by.

Miss Belmonte walked in looking like a dream. It was a casual look, but trust me when I tell you, everyone gave her a second look. There was this elegance that followed her calling for everyone’s attention.

She didn’t even sense it.

When she came up to us, Harry had long excused himself and was walking out of the room. They smiled at each other, holding a stare before he was ushered away. A tall woman stood next to her in a fuchsia pants suit, looking ever as a straight-up boss.

“Grace! Celia! You made it.” She cheered, greeting us with a kiss on the cheek and a hug. “You look gorgeous.”

We repeated the compliments, but she waved us off, trying to hide the flush. It seemed our beloved Belmonte wasn’t good with compliments. It was humbling in a sense.

The woman with her was her manager, Viola. A person we have to thank some of our favorite movies and the ones that were to come.

Chatting with her was like reuniting with an old friend. I was glad about this experience.

The show was to start, and we had seats in the VIP section. Meaning we were sat next to Lizzo and BTS. That was a dream.

A story for another time, maybe.

Harry Styles stayed true to his uniform for his second sold-out show in Los Angeles, keeping the suspenders but surprising with a black sequin shirt and matching wide-leg trousers and his signature leather boots. He indeed was a shining rockstar on stage.

To the surprise of everyone in the arena, he played ‘To Be So Lonely,’ a song he had played only a handful of times this entire tour starting in Chicago. Guess he was in the mood to let the audience call him an ‘arrogant son of a bitch.’ Although I heard his mother was in the crowd, I apologize for that.

It was wonderful to see how playful he was on stage, from goofing with Lizzo, Jungkook, and Jimin. He was all smiles when he sang falling ‘Beachwood Cafe’ still ringed through my eyes. The ballad that was ‘Cherry’ still moved me to tears, especially as he serenaded someone. Too bad from where I was sitting, you couldn’t see who.

I was moved to tears during ‘Fine Line,’ the song that gives us hope. Only when he came back and performed an extra song did I actually pinch myself, not believing this was my life.

As most good things do, it came to an end. He ran down the stage as if he was being chased and disappeared as the band extended the last notes to ‘Kiwi,’ and well we danced and cheered for a few moments more.

Walking backstage again, it was a different sight from before. There was chatter everywhere. Workers running around and groups coming in and out. Miss Belmonte came to find us after drinks in hand for us, saying they were virgins and if we preferred other beverages, that was okay. We happily accepted them. The Hispanic in me was never one to turn down a free drink.

We spoke about the show, and we held her attention for a while until he came back in. She excused herself, walking gracefully towards him. She was good at hiding her emotions, but hey, that’s her job.

Wrapped in a hug, you could tell they were chatting. I’m sure it would have lasted much longer if they were not interrupted. For the rest of the night, they didn’t get out of each other’s sight. She was only ever a foot away. If she wasn’t making someone laugh, she was standing at his side, hearing him tell a story.

They commanded the room with their magnetic energy.

This industry is always talked down on people being two different people, but I can proudly say there was nothing fake about them. It’s clear they wear their heart on their selves. They love their friends and family.

They shine brighter together.

Sometimes that isn’t love; sometimes that’s a person entering your life and making you become even better than you already are.

They simply bring the best out of each other.

I know the reason you’ve read to the very end. I do. I made you wait long enough.

Are Harry Styles and Y/N Belmonte dating?

Well, honestly, I don’t know.

I won’t assume. I won’t ask.

At the end of the day, she deserves privacy, just as we all do.

What I can say is they indeed are best friends. You can see the love and admiration they have for one another.

⋅•⋅⊰∙∘☽ the one who opened the door ☾∘∙⊱⋅•⋅ you turn the door handle. you call out, "who's there?" and the crowd has the audacity to groan, to get frustrated with you. as if the gift of hindsight was something you had. how the hell were you supposed to know you were born into a horror movie? no one bothered to tell you. say, if instead this was an action film, or a fantasy, would they still be telling you how silly of a mistake it was to press further on your quest? they would've commended you for your bravery. you thought you were going to be saving a princess in a tower, not getting stabbed in the back by a killer in the shadows. how is that fair? it isn't, and none of that was ever your fault. it is not wrong to believe things are good. your trust, your optimism, it shouldn't ever be mistaken for ignorance or stupidity. we need more people who open doors. how else are any of us gonna move forward?

@saratrantoul ok i was going to make this a proper post but all i can get out of my head are these rambles, so apologies for the mess 👉👈

Regarding Leon/Isaac, i dont have a manifesto but rather why i think it'd be fun to see them interact:

it's mostly the similarity of their situations despite their completely opposite beliefs- two guys who lost everything they loved at the hands of someone they considered a friend. They had disaster divorces and are vindictive over it they can bond over that. And also the fact that (mostly going with PtR's Isaac), both have a certain code of honor, and both have gone to war in the name of a higher being, as twisted as both of these things are on Isaac. (This also ties w my funny "Mathias creating friction between Leon n the church hc"). And, assuming they do end up having something instead of instantly killing eachother, Leon (knowing he has issues but dealing w them on his own bc oops friendship failed me) sees part of his own pain on this guy and is like "i can fix him" in a "im gonna give him the support i wish i had" way. Meanwhile Isaac doesn't wants any help nor affection at all and just wants to wallow in his misery but he still ends up feeling attachment. Something something his older brother mentality and just, picking on Leon while also being overprotective of him (he'd also piss him off just enough to get the pretty noble knight to fuck him raw lmao). It end up being a pretty unstable and toxic relationship, with both having incompatible values but also needing eachother bc they got nothing left.

And Celiakado. Ooooh boi Celiakado. This one comes with the context of interpreting Arikado's general shittyness in the sorrow games as legit part of his character instead of just him being ooc. His whole mission all this time was to oppose his father and now he's no more. He's someone who has been chewed up and spit out by the cycle so badly that he ends up trying to control it in return. And this is where Celia comes in. Her goals match with Arikado regarding the need of a new dark lord (except the killing/turning Soma part) and it's implied she knows him or has heard abt him in the beginning of DoS, spends a lot of time offscreen like him during the game, and manages to escape in the neutral ending despite Arikado's stated goal of stopping her. So, why can't they be cooperating behind the curtains, caught in manipulation games between this messed up gal who considers Arikado an extra powerful candidate in denial that she can manipulate, and this fucked up guy who considers Celia a useful tool for his goals, someone extremely amusing to fall into manipulation games with (overconfident girl who is completely out of her level and yet thinks she's winning, we stan), and a bloodbank to snack on, with the potential of funny feelings to sprout between the two which wont matter bc they're in for the grind and have no emotional inteligence. Then something happens w Celia making a move on Soma anyways and pretty much ruining Arikado's previous plans, Soma, Yoko n Julius get involved and welp. Neutral ending gives them the chance to continue being assholes, Worst ending has her mauled by Somacula and Best ending has her crucified (Like a certain someone important to Arikado ya kno ), both in front of him :) (and shoutout to @viralvava for being the smartest person alive ;D)

So yea two funny ships to be normal abt

Here's my prediction for how N!Soma would be handled. Soma is still Dracula's reincarnation (This would directly contradict the OG show where Drac went to Hell when he died, but Nocturne has demonstrated that they don't care about consistent lore), but all this does for Soma is give him some generic magic powers like Annette. Celia Fortner is the big bad, she's now a vampire (Because NFCV is obsessed with vampires), and she killed Dracula before the start of the show because he got in the way of her world domination or something. It's a coin toss if Dario, Dimitri, or Graham appear at all. Alucard kills Celia at the end to avenge his father and steal Soma's protagonist role. Julius is just the latest Belmont with absolutely nothing special about him, he barely does anything in the plot, and his beard will look terrible. Mina is turned into a girlboss with magic powers, Yoko is also turned into a girlboss, in fact they're basically the same character. And Hammer is completely forgotten.

I love how we're just assuming the Sorrow games will be adapted lol. But of course they will. There's Alucard in there :)

anyway, 10/10. Nice detail with Celia killing Dracula, really captures the spirit of NFCV. I vote for Graham becoming a sexyman much like Olrox or Drolta, because it's what they do with minor non-sexy villains.

And yeah, Mina/Yoko will be the same character. She'll be a rude "sassy" girlfriend, and she'll be yet another Speaker. They can only write one woman, and that woman is "let's fix the stupid games".

Putting mistletoe everywhere in the apartment just to have an excuse to kiss Alexa all the time. She’ll initiate that tradition during their first Christmas together.
