I've noticed something odd about the Chaos Magic/k tags....

Ya'll, Chaos Magick is an entirely different sect of magickal practice, complex as hell & very little to do with Witchcraft in it's own sense.

It isn't "Fuck around & find out" witchery, nor is it "If it works, it works". Both are very valid things, but neither are Chaos Magick.

If you wanna lose your marbles for a while & deep dive into the weeds for a few months into Chaos, I do recommend it. It helped me understand my practice better. But it isn't the same thing.

Chaos & Kitchen Magic

Enter the enchanting realm of Kitchen Magic, an ancient practice that predates the division between Wizards and fizzles. Often misconstrued as rudimentary magic, Kitchen Magic may appear simple and casual at first glance, yet its essence is far from ordinary.

Harnessing the power of fizzle spices and ingredients instead of traditional magical components, Kitchen Magic emerges as a recent classification within the magical arts. Its nature is inherently chaotic, falling under the vast umbrella of Chaos Magic.

Chaos Magic defies conventions, embodying an unconventional and unusual path. It is neither inherently evil nor dark, often intertwined with the whimsical magic of fae. However, in the world of fizzles, Chaos Magic finds its place in tales of Halloween and ghostly encounters. It becomes entwined with the imagery of gingerbread witches and hags, as per fizzle Halloween theories.

Yet, Kitchen Magic transcends the realm of chaos. Some kitchen wizards employ this form of magic to perceive things beyond the reach of ordinary senses. For instance, a witch tending to plants named after friends and family may discern their true emotions based on the condition of the plants on any given day. Intent holds the key to unlocking the magic within.

Kitchen Magic is not exclusive to wizards alone. Even fizzles can partake in its practice, although their effects may be faint and subtle. The potency of their magic can be influenced by the convergence of Leylines, yet it remains considerably weaker than even Rudimentary Magic. Fizzles often utilize Kitchen Magic to create special teas, concoct soothing baths, or craft enchanting "spell jars."

There’s hidden malice, time to banish again. One thing that I really love about the Baraja and Loteria decks is how concise their messages are, like all the fat has been trimmed, it’s refreshing. Hidden malice seems to be a common theme in modern life so it’s likely this isn’t your first rodeo, but it’s time once again to clear out the cobwebs in the corners and haul the crooked little ghouls out from under the bed. It doesn’t even need to be a major operation, personally I’ve pared a basic banishing ritual down to the minimum amount of steps necessary for maximum efficiency. Do-easy magick a la Burroughs. Why bother with even semi-regular banishing at all? Because unfortunately participating in the day to day aspects of modern society seems to leave more residual psychic sludge than it used to. Not that there was ever a sludge free society I highly doubt that but late stage capitalism and new technology seems to have made things exponentially worse. Cleansing one’s energy and home is enough to deal with any random (as opposed to targeted) build up, but adding a banishing ritual can help you stay healthy and unbothered longer if there’s an ongoing issue. Like at a place of employment for one example, yes you can do cleansings every day when you get home but if there’s a source of negativity that you cannot avoid- like a horrible boss- a banishing ritual will create a barrier to halt the spread of the negative energy transfer. Keep them off you and away from you as much as possible. It’s like putting a plug in a leak, as opposed to just cleaning up it’s mess every day. I should mention however that specific intent is as essential here as it is in all magickal operations lest the results be more severe than you’d intended, some effects are not so easily undone, physical harm being one example.
