if you use it, in your opinion is obsidian sync worth it? i'm trying to switch from google docs and i do write enough that i'd use it but i'm still on the fence

i'm sure there are reasons to not just put your vault in a onedrive folder or whatever but. that's what i do instead. i used to write on my phone a lot more, and maybe if i still did it would be worth it to have that work more seamlessly? if i were worried about security i might keep it on protondrive instead. but since i'm mostly writing on my desktop or laptop and they both have onedrive anyway... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it's easy to switch your vault to unsynced if you want to try paying for a month as a trial run.

EDIT: i just remembered, there's also a community plugin that's supposed to let you save remotely using free cloud storage, i haven't tested it but it might be worth a try also

got some interest in my hobonichi from my last post so wanted to share my hobonichi planners from law school and talk a little about them :))

yellow omelette cover was for 1L, josef čapek's doggie and pussycat was 2L, and hiroko kubota's tokyo metronome is my current 3L planner!! they are all the original a6 planner that starts in april 🌸 to keep them clean, i added a clear cover on cover.

i would like to say i am creative or extremely organized but alas, i just use them to write down my hw assignments (otherwise i forget) or daily to-do lists. at the top, i write down my appointments and highlight them in yellow. on days i don't have anything to do, the whole page is blank🙈 as a student, this system worked well for me because i don't use google calendar/notion or any online platform (i don't sync anything to my phone). i think once i start working after graduation, i'm going to switch to hobonichi weeks or a less daunting planner just so i can keep track of my appointments. sometimes a full empty blank page scares me.. like staring into the abyss.....

hi yeah its me again! this time im here to ask about the standalone track called Candle On the Water by Miracle Musical. theres a few things im curious about, like the lyrics (i assume some lines reference either Hawaii Part ii or other tally hall songs) and whether it would be accurate to call it a prologue of sorts to the album (actually, Variations On a Cloud is something i want to ask the same questions about too) and lastly, if there are any notable musical motifs and stuff thanks in advance hope you have a good day!!

you are incredibly lucky i decided to log back onto this account not even a week after you sent this ask in because i do Not do that very often. the "archive" in the url's not there for show. anyway candle on the water from miramusi is a cover of a song from the 70s, originally from pete's dragon i think. lyrically & musically it has nothing to do with hawaii part ii. the cover was only recorded in the first place to commemorate the passing of a certain tally hall/miracle musical fan. that's everything i can give you. maybe check the tally hallmanac (the wiki on hidden in the sand) if you want more info because this is all off the top of my head
