“It’s okay to not be okay”
Unless it impacts your work performance…
Or your grades
Or how you act
Or if it causes you to say no
Or if you’re harder to be around
Or if you need time alone
Or if you talk about it
Or show symptoms
“It’s okay to not be okay”
Unless you have trauma
Unless you have one of those “scary” mental illnesses
Unless it inconveniences me
Unless you’re undiagnosed
Unless you cry or scream or make a scene
Unless you don’t keep that shit to yourself
Unless you make me uncomfortable
Unless I can’t infantilize or fetishize you
Unless you have hallucinations
Unless you have psychosis
Unless you get angry
Unless I think you’re cringe
Unless you can’t preform hygiene tasks
Unless you’re disabled, or trans, or gay, or not white, or fat, or AFAB, or intersex, or a man… so I guess anyone
“It’s okay to not be okay”
As long as nobody ever finds out.
Our society has a severe issue with performative activism, and mental health is a huge example of this. Every time someone considers reaching out, they run through this list mentally. This is why true activists and resources need to be loudly supportive of all the things on this list. Take the subtext out of your support.

Everyone with a personality disorder deserves an unlimited supply of their favourite food and drinks, along with their favourite form of affection from someone they trust to go with it.

avpd culture is internal anxieties becoming accepted certainties then eventually irritants. ('my friends may not like me very much?' eventually turns into 'my friends hate me.' which then turns into 'well can they stop pretending to like me. this is irritating. why are we dragging this out if you don't actually like being near me.') avpd culture is also, in that case, having to occasionally do a net reset where you remind yourself that you made literally all of that up, and no, your friends who like interacting with you are not demons sent to torment you. you just have friends. they like talking to you. it's pretty normal. hardly a hard concept to grasp, honestly.

Personality disorders
So, what is a personality disorder?
— A personality disorder is an enduring pattern of inner experience and behaviour that causes an individual distress and an inability to function. They usually develop in teenage years or early adulthood
There are 10 personality disorders listed in the DSM-V and they're organised into three clusters
Cluster A personality disorders
– characterized by odd, eccentric thinking or behavior
PPD – Paranoid personality disorder
SzPD – Schizoid personality disorder
STPD - Schizotypal personality disorder
Cluster B personality disorders
– characterized by dramatic, overly emotional or unpredictable thinking or behavior
ASPD - Antisocial personality disorder
BPD - Borderline personality disorder, also known as EUPD (Emotionally unstable personality disorder)
HPD - Histrionic personality disorder
NPD - Narcissistic personality disorder
Cluster C personality disorders
– characterized by anxious, fearful thinking or behavior
AvPD - Avoidant personality disorder
DPD - Dependant personality disorder
OCPD - Obsessive compulsive personality disorder – (NOTE: OCPD and OCD AREN'T the same thing)
Causes of personality disorders:
– genetics
– brain changes
– childhood trauma
– verbal abuse
Each personality disorder has it's own set of symptoms, however all of them share two main ones which are:
– a lack of a clear or stable image of self
– struggling forming and keeping close relationships
Please note that recovery is possible with therapy, although everyone's experience will be different
This blog will focus on cluster B personality disorders, my own experiences and possibly other people's experience, although people from other clusters are welcomed to stay~
Have a good day/night~
— With love, Succubus

Journal Entry 23 Mars 2024 - The Schizoid Soliloquy
Why hello there, fancy seeing you in the emptied auditorium of my inner mind theater. Have a seat, though I can't guarantee it will be a lively or emotive performance you're about to witness. The lead actor tends to be rather…aloof.
Today's soliloquy is brought to you by the brilliant mind of yours truly - a veritable pioneer in the art of emotional flatness and detached apathy. Like a tranquil glacial lake, my ability to experience feelings has frozen over into a barren tundra devoid of sentiment or warmth. Apart from the odd micro-expression that slips through the permafrost like a lone Ted Cruz, my face remains an imperious mask of indifference.
Sometimes I ponder whether I should feel something, anything, about my profound lack of feeling. A twinge of sadness perhaps? Nah, feels like too much effort. What about a whisper of loneliness over my steadfast solitude? Yeah…still coming up empty. Well, might as well embrace this impassive existence with a wry shrug - the feelings weren't using that emotional bandwidth anyway.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not totally cut off from the human experience. I can admire things like art, music, or Jon Batiste's fabulously feathery hair from an analytical distance. It's just the messiness of interpersonal bonds that triggers my fight-or-haul-ass-in-the-other-direction instinct. Intimacy has about as much appeal as grating my soul through a cheese-grater. Hard pass.
At least I'm incredibly low-maintenance as a schizoid loner extraordinaire. My nurturing needs are about as high as a Ghanaian micro-cactus. Zero upkeep required beyond existing in a vaguely non-threatening manner. It's not that I'm incapable of social routines - I can mimic them with all the emotional substance of a crashed IBM bot if needed. I just vastly prefer the serenity of private solitude where I can't disturb the fabric of reality with irksome human longings.
So if you'll excuse me, I'll be returning to my regularly scheduled programming of splendid isolation and catatonic ennui. Feel free to read my future journal entries, though I make no promises they won't induce a ratherutul existential itch. Abandoning all hope of passionate feeling is a…unique craft, you see? But I'm its virtuoso

Having AvPD is like: I’m so open, everyone knows everything about me. That’s terrifying, everyone must hate how much I share. God I feel so exposed I feel sick. And the last time you opened up to someone was October of 2021 when you told your mom you were a little stressed.

to anyone with a demonised personality disorder who has vented about their experiences/thoughts/etc. and in turn had an ableist say something along the lines of "i came here to get the perspective of someone with this personality disorder and you just proved my point"
you are not the issue. they were never looking to educate themselves. they would scroll for hours just to find a single post that proves them right, ignoring everything else you talk about in between.
please do not feel bad about "adding to the stigma" by venting. you're not doing anything wrong. ableists love to enter spaces for people with demonised disorders to vent and then get upset when they find people talking about anything other than quirky/cute symptoms. it's happened to @narcissisticpdcultureis more times than i can count.

SzPD and AvPD culture is having friends but them regularly needing to convince you that they are a) really your friends and b) that you deserve having friends, but deep down, having actual friends still doesn't feel real

Note
AvPDt culture is feeling intense loneliness because you have no or minimal human connection but in order to get the connection you crave you need to put yourself out there and risk being rejected/embarrassed so you're stuck in a self-fulfilling prophecy
