Also hearing Emily talk about how at first she was embarrassed that she started crying during FH and she had to realize it was not "bad" that she let her emotions take over in a scene and be so earnest while playing is wild to me. A Humanitarian Rant:

Palestinians x Christ Consciousness

If someone told me that on a humanitarian level, they haven’t been affected by the last nine months I would be concerned. We are in heavy times, on a global level; however I always say that it is possible to have a light heart even during times of war.

Palestinians take this truth to a whole other level. In the bitterness and emotional apathy that has afflicted the world, Palestinians are somehow different. In this American (yes) an American Genocide (as Israel is just a U.S. puppet state), I have only found solace in the beauty and purity that is the Palestinian people. Different from other Arabs, due to their dire circumstance of occupation for 75 years, being completely ignored by most Arab nations out of greed, racism and due to lack of funding - their steadfast resilience shines bright. Their faith glows in the darkness of war.

I have found so much renewed joy, peace and strength in learning more about Palestinian culture. They truly walk with God and in this day and age, I think very few people can truly say that. I have only seen such strong and steadfast faith reflected during my trip to Ghana. But Palestinians have equal if not stronger faith due to the Zionist oppression they face daily.

The conscious community and spiritual community at large speak a lot about Christ Consciousness. But anyone in the "spiritual community" who speaks of Christ Consciousness, but never mentions Palestine or reverence for the Palestinian people (the actual people of Jesus' lineage) seem deeply fake to me now. This is the lineage that literally embodies Christ Consciousness.

I think people often misinterpret what Christ Consciousness even is. In my opinion it is actually just the understanding of presence and having steadfast faith in the here and now no matter what may come. This is what Jesus actually taught, although it has become warped by the multitudes. The present moment is the access point for all miracles. Even when facing death, Jesus taught his followers that it's possible to ground in the light and reality of the here and now, and in that light, eternal peace can always be found.

Until I started learning more about Palestinians and Palestinian history I am not quite sure I even fully understood Christ Consciousness (although respectfully, they are Muslim). I also didn't fully understand why the collective Fascist Governments where so threatened by any rising leader that expressed aspects of Christ Consciousness within their hearts.

I believe it's because Politicians and Zionists know the power that Christ Consciousness holds and brings to the collective. From Malcolm X, to LMK, Tupac, Biggie, and to Mohbad (an Afrobeats artists who was most recently murdered) - all these humans expressed attributes of Christ Consciousness. While differing in religions (some Muslim, some Christian) they all held levels of high frequency consciousness. They all also had knowledge of "The New World Order", and they all were taken from this world because of the strength they possessed.

Mohbad, who I wrote about most recently was taken out a month before the "War"/ Genocide on Gaza began and his #1 single was entitled: 'Peace'.

If such resilient community leaders were aloud to live their messages would spread like wildfire. Thus, they were all a threat to the Zionist regime.

Understanding, listening, and watching Palestinians dominate media, put Palestine on the map, and share their stories with little to no resources has really renewed my faith as a humanitarian. Their creative talents and use of basically the only weapon they have (their voice) - has inspired me to no end. It has reignited my light in new ways and enabled me to remain steadfast in my own cause under Zionist threat.

So, dear reader at 1am on a Thursday, I write this because the entire situation lays heavily on my chest. Living in a society amongst individuals who would rather ignore an actual holocaust than acknowledge personal implication makes me sick. I for one, am not going down in history as someone who remained silent in the face of oppression. I will always stand on the right side of history.

Above I posted a beautiful music video by a Palestinian born and Gaza raised artist names Saint Levant. He actually graduated from UC Santa Barbara making him a Cali boy as well. The creativity, faith, power of the Palestinian people never cease to amaze me.

So, I will just leave you with this food for thought:

Imagine being an elderly Palestinian person and having your home taken by Israel in 1948, during the first Genocide. Imagine either having to relocate (becoming an immigrant) or being in Palestine forced to live in a refugee camps in Gaza or The West Bank. Then imagine years going by and you witness on TV, Black Americans being freed from Apartheid (Jim Crow) and South Africans being freed from their Apartheid, hoping and assuming that your own freedom will inevitably come - only to face yet another repeat of the same horrific Genocide you narrowly escaped 75 years ago. How would you feel? What would you cling to to keep going? Palestinians choose to cling to their faith, and for right now it is the only force in the world that is on their side.

It is important that we are able to put ourselves in one another’s shoes, after all, thats humanity.

And so, on that note, another humanitarian rant over and out! Thank you for reading community - especially if you made it to the end!

I think silence is violence during these times. So no matter if you write, sing, dance, draw or paint, I think it is important to express what you feel during these times in some way. The deafening silence of people surrounding me about Genocide has been the most unnerving thing about the situation for me and I can only hope that more humans will be brave enough to choose the art of expression - no mater what it looks like for them.

I think I saw someone else say this but I do think it’s fitting that charlie and dennis are together on the titties storyline because of their shared baggage around childhood sexuality, like no one else in the gang would really be able to relate to dennis here and if charlie is figuring his shit out with that then he'll definitely serve as a parallel for dennis having to figure it out too

I like how they represent three different eras of risk e.’s (frank, gang, present day) to really explore changing values and how things getting softer can be bad in some ways but good in others. this episode definitely feels in keeping with lethal weapon 7 as a very sunny way of critiquing sunny that feels satisfyingly self-aware but also fairly true to form which is a pretty fine line to walk, to give credit to rcg and the rest of the creators

also if you haven’t seen the john oliver piece on chuck e. cheese go watch it because it provides so much context and crazy true history of these types of places that was definitely in my mind while watching this episode

dee and frank paired up again, and in a childhood place, probably ties into the dee parent-issues thing I hope they’re building up to

each character really tells on themself about what fucked up stuff they’ve come to believe is acceptable or even enjoyable but should be questioned:

frank - violence and verbal abuse toward children and everyone; sexually harassing women with impunity; calling people the r-slur

dee - ethnic humor, not racist humor; making her explain how it’s funny and realizing it’s not; ecologically irresponsible plastic cheese that gets immediately thrown away; dimwit duck or whatever his name was; not understanding what satire really is!!! ← they really took one of their biggest critiques head on

here’s a question I have about dee’s character - she tries to justify her problematic sense of humor and every time frank points out the truth behind it, illustrating what’s really awful about it without really meaning to, and dee seems to genuinely recoil like she doesn’t like that. does she feel bad and react that way because she doesn’t want to do harmful things, or just because she doesn’t want to be perceived as being un-pc because that’s what’s uncool now? like remember when charlie said “I think I might’ve called an old lady a cunt this morning” and looked kind of aghast at himself? could dee be developing more of a conscience too and if so, what does that say about her? or is she just a vehicle for rcg to navel-gaze about the show? also remember in lw7 how mac was like “if you don’t praise me for being a good person then why am I doing it?” I lie awake at night wondering how much rcg want to be better people vs. how much they don’t want to be kicked even further down the hollywood totem pole for being yucky. please share thoughts if you have any

mac - simulating real-world violence to get it out of his system; shame - “if you got no shame, you’re never gonna hate yourself enough to stop being bad”

dennis and charlie - being unprotected growing up; that’s what the bone’s for! (there’s nothing like a glenn and charlie riff btw); is it wrong because she’s underage?

sunny is really amping up the inner child work for the gang, I mean arguably the gang have always been childish but this season I feel like they’re exploring it in a more comprehensive way like via the setting of this episode. and it ALSO works as a perfect commentary on the show and we love the layers

I wish I could remember who said it but someone suggested that the de-breastifying of justine has to do with dennis’ heteroness disappearing and that is a very fun take - I do think it says something that they’re fixated on a very abstracted version of sexuality via these almost disembodied tits that aren’t even human… like are we overcompensating for something gentlemen? can the characters and the show itself have any relationship to women that doesn’t objectify or otherwise dehumanize them?

I for one think sam is supposed to look like a young mac, I saw some people questioning why they cast that kid and this is my theory. this is important for both the inner child and possible child-rearing stuff they’re bringing in

“hey man, I’m a licensed psychotherapist–” “you’re a talking dog”

“guys I hate to admit it but this place sucks now”; “that’s crazy, this was like one of the best bars in town, man”; “they could redeem themselves in the show” all very meta

“you cannot call a place a website” hahaha

“so that these kids can have the same experience that we had when we were younger” fucked up childhoods, the cycle of trauma, but also the show being how it used to be

and of course, an attempted revival of all that leading to immediate disaster. let’s move forward, not backward :)

Perhaps surprisingly, Ghost is actually quite merciful in a fight!

In general, they're a lot more reactive than they are proactive.

They do always give it their all in battle, and I suppose in that sense they could be considered rather ruthless. They'll never "go easy" on an opponent, since they don't actually know how to. They've never been in a situation before where doing such a thing would be relevant or useful. Everything they've fought during their life has either been Infected, a lesser creature that they're hunting for SOUL, or a highly skilled warrior that warrants them using their full capabilities. If someone asked Ghost to go easy on them in a spar, they'd probably just be confused about what that even meant?

The closest thing they've experienced to "going easy" on someone is simply not wasting unnecessary resources on a weak opponent. For example, if a lone, regular Vengefly has decided to harass them, Ghost isn't going to bother expending their gathered SOUL and Void with a spell when it'll fall in one hit from their nail.

Though, they are also cautious about how Void affects non-Void beings when they're around someone they care about not killing. Hornet has probably drilled it into them enough that the substance their body is made of is extremely dangerous to regular bugs dgshshfs. Plus they've seen examples of what Void can do to a bug from sources other than themself. Fortunately though, their Void infused spells (Abyss Shriek, Shade Soul, Descending Dark) are generally still safe enough to use in spars!

But, whether they fight and how long the fight lasts actually depends entirely on the other person. Ghost doesn't typically make the first strike or initiate a battle, and in cases where they do (such as the Mantis Lords fight), they make their intentions very clear with a challenge first. They aren't one for sneak attacks.

If someone attacks them, then they will fight back with all their might. But, if their opponent stops fighting, then they will too.

Against Infected foes, this usually means a fight to the death anyway, since due to the Radiance's influence, the enemy will not stop trying to kill Ghost until they either succeed or die trying. But against uninfected opponents like Hornet and the Mantis Lords, they can surrender, retreat, or even talk to Ghost safely without Ghost trying to go in for the kill. Even if that opponent was intending to kill Ghost themself. And for Infected and uninfected opponents alike, if they stagger, then Ghost will stop and wait for them, just to see if the fight is done or not.

If their opponent insists on fighting, though, then Ghost will never retreat themself, no matter how badly they get hurt. They'll keep fighting until their mask breaks, and even beyond that once they have Void Heart and can survive without it. Even in simple sparring matches. Self-preservation... Is not their strong suit dhdhshf.

This also means that my Ghost would not have killed the non-aggressive Infected enemies under most circumstances. In particular, they definitely never killed the other maggots (False Knight's siblings). Not only were those guys non-aggressive; they were sapient, terrified of Ghost, did not want to fight and very clearly showed this by actively running away. Ghost did not kill them. There was no reason to. Hell, I always feel really bad killing them for the Hunter's Journal entries lmao.

Regarding the Hunter's Journal entries, actually, for the enemies that they wouldn't have killed many of (if any at all), and perhaps even just in general, I'm inclined to say that Ghost still has the entries written down, but did so after just observing the specimens rather than killing them? Plus maybe also by inspecting the bodies of already dead creatures, like how you get the Garpede entry.

At least the initial entries anyway, which I like to think were actually written by Ghost. They probably don't have any of the "second tier" entries physically in the journal, considering that some of them (e.g. The direct quotes from the Warrior Dreams) make no sense for Ghost to know. But for the ones written specifically by the Hunter, maybe Ghost would pop by to show him their journal from time to time, and that's when he'd give them his input on Hallownest's creatures?

This is just the flip side of my theory that masked people are more likely to cluster on public transport partly bc it seems like a safer bet and also bc unmasked people are making room for us anyway.
